front of everyone else. Instead, he vented his anger at Evadne, “Ms. Evadne, what the hell is this?”
“Mr. Frederic, it’s the prosecutor’s office that took your wife. Why are you yelling at me?” Evadne
smirked, cool as a cucumber.
“How did you know what was going to be on the news? How could you make those crypticments
before? Did you pull the strings behind all this?”
“Ashbourne family has a lot of connections. How could we not know about something even the media
knows?” There was a hint of disdain in Evadne’s eyes. Frederic was furious, “Ms. Evadne, it’s not our
fault that you and Thaddeus got divorced! It’s just not meant to be!”
Mr. and Mrs. Bartley were shocked to their cores.

Just as she turned the corner, she bumped straight into Thaddeus.
A small tremor ran through Evadne’s chest. She lifted her beautiful eyes and locked gazes with
Thaddeus’s icy stare without a hint of fear.
“Mr. Thaddeus, since when did you start getting your kicks from peeping into women’s changing
rooms?”
“Evadne, I won’t let you get the Westguard project.” Thaddeus’s throat bobbed, her mocking smile
igniting a fire in his heart. “The project belongs to the Abernathy Group. If you want to sabotage it, I
won’t let you have your way.”
“Oh, really? But what can you do about it? The Abernathy Group is being dragged through the mud all
over the inte right now. The prosecutors will definitely look into the group because of this case. You
