    It was grandma Catherine calling.


    In her past life, she did not remember grandma Catherine calling her on this day.

    "Amanda darling, how have you been? It''s been a while since thest time I saw you!"


    "I''m fine grandma. How have you been?" Amanda responded politely.


    "I''m fine. You know what today is right? Your engagement with Jason. I can''t wait for you to be my


    granddaughter-inw. I hope you have prepared yourself."


    Amanda frowned when she heard grandma Catherine.


    It seems like she is not aware of the schemes and trapsid for her.


    Then that made sense. If grandma knew the rtionship between Jason and Vallery she would not


    have called her and she would probably be fighting with her family now.


    Grandpa James feared his wife the most and something like that could only be done in the dark.


    Amanda decided to tell her the truth to prevent her old soul from being shockedter.


    "I''m afraid that won''t happen grandma?"


    "Why. What are you saying?"


    "Today, your family and Jackson''s family are uniting, but unfortunately I''m not the bride."


    "You are not the bride. Amanda,grandma''s heart is in poor health and cannot take such shock. Can you


    be specific and exin it to me slowly."


    "Jason and Vallery had been together since he went overseas and today is their engagement party.


    They only invited me and my mom to humiliate me and I cannot let that happen grandma."

    After Amanda was done talking, she waited for a long while but grandma did not say anything. She


    decided to hang up the phone. Her message was delivered and that was the most important.

    After hanging up the phone, Amanda turned to look at her mother only to realize that her face had


    turned pale.


    She was clutching her heart and it seemed like she was in extreme pain.


    "Mom, what is going on? Are you not feeling well?" Amanda was worried as she hurried to support her.


    "Wha.....what... were you saying on the phone right now?" She gasped for air as she asked.


    It then dawned on Amanda that her mom must have overheard her conversation with grandma on the


    phone just now.


    "It''s nothing. Let''s go and see the doctor. I will exin to youter. You don''t look good." Amanda


    supported her mother as they went back to see the doctor.


    Things were not looking good at William''s family because the matron had suddenly fainted.


    Everyone was in a state of panick as they rushed her to the hospital.


    "What happened? Why would your mother suddenly faint?" James voice was heard as he asked his


    daughter-inw..


    He was in the study when he heard themotion only toe out and find his wife lying on the floor.


    "I don''t know dad. I was in the kitchen supervising the servants when I heard themotion, when I


    came out, I saw mother lying on the floor holding her phone." Liz said in a trembling voice.


    If something were to happen to the matron of the family, everything will be in chaos.


    "Let''s just wait for the doctor toplete the surgery."


    James, Liz and her husband were worried but they had to be patient because Catherine had just been


    rushed to the emergency room and they did not know how severe her condition was.


    Now they have to put hold on the engagement party because they can''t do it without Catherine.

    At the airport, Peter had already picked up Jason and were on their way to the vi when Jason


    received a call from his mother.


    "Hello Jason, your grandmother is hospitalized,e to the hospital right away!"


    "Hospitalized? What happened?"


    "We don''t know yet. She suddenly fainted this morning and she is still in surgery."


    "Okay mom, I''ming over right now.... Which hospital."


    "City A National Hospital."


    "Uncle, head to City A National Hospital, my grandmother is hospitalized."


    "What happened?"


    "I don''t know, we will know when we reach there."


    Jason frowned all the way to the hospital. He did not know what triggered his grandmother.


    His grandmother has always been in good health and now she fainted all over a sudden and on this


    special day.

    After reaching the hospital, Peter and Jason rushed to the emergency room where everyone was.


    Everyone was burried in their thoughts as they wore worried expressions on their faces.


    "Grandpa, mom, dad, what happened to grandma?" Jason asked the moment he arrived.


    "Your grandmother  suddenly fainted at home. She was on call. We have checked her phone and the


    last person who contacted her was Amanda. We have no idea what they talked about until your


    grandmother fainted." Jason''s father exined to him briefly.


    "Amanda... " Jason was in deep thoughts as the frown on his face deepened.


    "Does Amanda know that I''m going to get engaged to Vallery?" Jason asked.


    Hearing the question, everyone turned to look at Peter.


    Peter shook his head. "No. I only told her  to dress up and attend the party. She knows that she is the


    one getting engaged and she even wanted to fetch you at the airport!"


    "Have you told grandma yet?" Jason turned to his grandfather.


    "Not yet. I wanted to exin to her after everything was done but I did not expect her to suddenly fall


    ill."


    "Then what could have triggered her?"


    Just as everyone was in deep thoughts, the door to emergency room opened.


    The doctor came out covered in sweat, you could tell how intense that operation had been.


    Everyone crowded around the doctor.


    "Doctor how is my wife?"


    "Doctor how is my mother, is she okay."


    The doctor waved his hand to calm them down.


    "The patient is now out of danger but she still has to stay under observation for the next 48 hours."


    "What was the problem?" Jason asked and everyone stared at the doctor.


    "The patient''s heart was triggered. She suffered a huge shock causing heart attack. Her heart could not


    pump the oxygenated blood due to the shock that is why she fainted. But it''s good you brought her in


    time, or else things would have been worse."


    "Thank you doctor." Everyone bowed.


    "She will wheeled to the ICU, you can go and take a look."
