Chapter Twelve

“The world trembles and waits for the inevitable to occur.” - Averick Tellings

    Chapter Twelve:

Today I woke up and felt satisfied. Yesterday’s frolicking and new choices made me feel new, and refreshed. Those feelings are good. This feeling of good gave me a boost of energy, and I decided to reread The Book again in its entirety.

I read The Book, and felt further satisfied.

I then ate dinner (without a plate) and went to sleep.

Or at least, I tried to. Yet for some reason I could not grasp, rest eluded me, and I shuffled around in my (now clean of any stains) bed, and blinked my eyes repeatedly. Nothing helped, and I opened The Book for answers. The Book said: a condition of body and mind that typically recurs for several hours every night, in which the eyes are closed, the postural muscles relaxed, the activity of the brain altered, and consciousness of the surroundings practically suspended.

All I needed for rest (according to The Book) is to have my eyes closed, my muscles relaxed, my brain altered, and my consciousness suspended. I focused on all of these things, and attempted to do them.

After around ten minutes, I managed them all, and fell asleep.
