Sharing His Idea of Escaping
PEOPLE can tell that a new day has begun when they look up in the morning and see a pale blue
sky with white clouds floating in it, the breeze blowing the leaves beside the road, and the birds
jumping back and forth from the tree.
Zoe was ready to open the café again when Cindy rushed towards their main door.
“What’s wrong, Cindy?” Aunt Millie asked who was getting ready for their work.
Cindy shed a smile. “Work again, Aunt?”
Millie frowned but nodded after. “Of course; why?”
Cindy shook her head. “Nothing, Aunt. Anyway, I’m here to pick Zoe, Aunt Iris,” she stated when
Zoe’s mother came out from the kitchen.
Iris smiled. “I know, dear…” she nced at her wristwatch, “—you two arete for ten minutes in
opening the café,” she added.
Cindy let out a soft chuckle. “Zoe got a morning sick—” she didn’t finish her words when Zoe
covered her mouth.
“We need to go, mom, aunt. See youter,” Zoe said as she pulled Cindy outside their apartment.
Soon as they stepped meters away from the house, Zoe pinched Cindy’s shoulder.
“Ouch!”
Zoe red at her. “What’s wrong with you? Mom will—”
“I thought you were going to tell her the truth… that you’re pregnant. What’s wrong?”
Zoe shook her head. “I don’t know how to tell it. Maybe, I need Helios—”
“Yes. Great idea,” Cindy interrupted, making Zoe roll her eyes and walk towards the café.
Zoe was about to look for the key inside her bag when they saw a ck Lamborghini parked in front
of the café.
The two looked at each other, wondering who owned it.
“Who owned that—Helios?” Cindy reacted when she saw the man that got off the car.
Zoe’s body tensed, and her heart beat so fast.
Helios approached their ce and shed a smile. Then afterward, he looked around, making Zoe’s
forehead crease. Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDra/ma.O(r)g!
It seems like he’s checking if the area is clear.
“Zoe, we need to talk,” he said in his deep yet husky voice.
Zoe looked at Cindy, and thetter got the key and decided to open the café by herself.
Helios then took Zoe inside his car.
“Let’s talk here, Helios,” Zoe said.
Helios heaved a sigh and nodded. “As you wish.”
Zoe looked at Helios and met his gaze. “What’s wrong?”
“I was engaged yesterday.”
Zoe nodded.
“But we have a problem,” he said, which made Zoe frown. “Dad doesn’t want to pass me the title.
He wanted it after the wedding.”
Zoe’s heart thumped fast, not because of delight because Helios was near her, but it’s because of a
tint of fear that registered in it.
“W-Why?”
“He seems to know about us… again,” he replied, directly to the point.
Zoe bit her lower lip. “W-What’s your n?”
“Come with me. And I promise I will take care of you and the baby.”
Zoe’s eyes widened upon hearing this. “You mean we’re going to hide?”
“You can say that. But this is until you give birth to our son. I know my father. I can’t risk you and the
life of our child.”
“Where are we going then?”
“Philippines.”
“That’s too far.”
Helios reached for Zoe’s hands and pressed them gently. “I know, but it’s the only ce that my
father will never think I would go.”
“H-How about the people around me? My mom? My aunt… Cindy…”
“We can bring your mom and your aunt if they want to. But if they don’t want it, Grant is here to look
for them. I promise they will be safe.”
“How about Cindy?”
“Her boyfriend is one of us.”
“A member of the mafia?” Zoe raised her voice in surprise.
Helios nodded. “Yes.”
Zoe couldn’t believe that Calyx was like Helios. “But she’s not Cindy’s boyfriend….”
Helios let out a soft chuckle. “Well, maybe it’splicated,” he said.
Zoe slightly tilted her head. “Like us?”
Helios arched his brow. “I thought we’re officially on—”
“You didn’t even courted me….” Helios was about to open his mouth and speak when she
continued, “—just kidding.”
Helios couldn’t help but drag Zoe and let her sit on hisp.
Zoe’s jaw dropped when suddenly, her center touched his bulk.
“Can feel it?” Helios asked softly near her ear, and Zoe could sense the shade of tease in it.
She frowned and looked at her. “Getting horny?”
Helios smirked. “What do you think, baby?”
