Shades of Wanders
Zoe’s POV
I was wondering the whole day what had happened to Cindy. I tried to look for her in the
neighborhood, but she was not there. I wanted to call her number after she called, but she turned it
off.
An overthinker like me feels like something is going on.
I waited for her at the café the next morning and speaking of the witch; she had just entered the
café. I walked in front of the countertop and crossed my arms in front of my chest.
I saw how her eyes widened when she met my gaze.
“What happened? Don’t give lies because it means friendship is over,” I threatened. However, I
don’t mean it.
Cindy rolled her eyes at me and pouted her lips.
“Did you have sex with Cal—” I didn’t finish my words when she dashed over me and covered my
mouth?
“Gosh! What’s wrong with you?” she asked as she pulled me to the counter.
I frowned and pushed her away. I arched my brow soon as I let go of her grip.
“I am asking—”
“But why do you need to add the word—”
“Sex—hmm!” I groaned when she covered my mouth again.
She red at me before she let go.
I bit my lower lip and formed a sly smirk on my lips. “So, am I right?”
I waited for her response, but she rolled her eyes again and turned her back away from me.
“Come on, Cindy. What are friends for?”
She turned to me and pierced her eyes into mine. “Shut up, Zoe. Just tell me if you are missing
Helios’s dick, and I will—”
“Why would I miss that?”
Cindy scoffed. “Come on, I know you’re itchy—” she halted when I let out a chuckle.
“In his dreams. I will not let him—”
“Oh, Come on. That’s what I told myself, but Calyx got—” she paused, and her eyes widened when
she realized what she had said.
“Got you,” I eximed and burst intoughter.
Cindy closed her eyes and clenched her fist as Iughed out loud.
“See… I am—”
“Shut up, Zoe!” she blurted, and after that, she turned away from me, making me shake my head.
I heaved a deep sigh and shook my head. At first sight, I knew that there was something between
Calyx and Cindy until Calyx identally told them that he was her first.
There were only a few customers on this day, and I didn’t feel tired at all. That’s why I asked Cindy if
she wanted to go to a bar and chill.
At first, she didn’t like the idea, but with a few sweet words, she agreed.
“I will choose,” she said and was pertaining to the bar.
I couldn’t help but smile because I knew that she was avoiding Calyx.
“After sex all day, you don’t want to bump with Calyx? Seriously?” Iughed.
Cindy red at me. “You’re really great at teasing, are you?”
I shrugged my shoulders.
She rolled her eyes and grabbed her bag. “I’ll see youter, 8 A.M. sharp,” she said and exited the
café.
I shook my head and sighed.
Mr. Reynolds is still baking some cookies for thest-minute order and told me to go first.
When I got back upstairs, I started to take a shower and wore jeans and a ck sleeveless. For
sure, Cindy will be surprised when she sees me wearing this. Actually, she’s nagging when she
sees me wearing shirts, and this is the first time that I am willingly wearing this one.
I checked my wristwatch and chatted with Cindy through messenger.
Mom and Aunt Millie have not yet arrived; I guess they took an OT.
After a few minutes of waiting, I heard a knock on the door, and it was Cindy.
I saw how Cindy wandered her eyes from my head to toe. When she met my eyes, I arched my left
brow.
“What?”
“Good thing, you wear—”
“Yeah,” I cut off the hum of her words. “Stop rolling your eyes. Are you thinking how delightful when
Calyx is inside—what the hell?!” I eximed when Cindy mmed the back of my head slightly.
“You know what, Zoe—”
“Not yet.”
“Heh! Can you stop teasing me? If you miss Helios, you can tell me or say to Grant. I’m sure Helios
badly misses you—”
“No way,” I grunted.
Cindy pierced her eyes into mine, making me roll mine.
“Anyway, let’s go—”
“It’s too early. Why don’t we eat dinner first at Grant’s restaurant?” Cindy asked, making me frown at
her.
“Are you kidding me?”
Cindy formed a sly smirk on her lips. “Nope. I am just giving a suggestion—”
“I’m not interested. Let’s go so that we can go back home early.”
She coughed. “Come on, Zoe. You’re such a killjoy. Why don’t you try facing your fears—”
“Says the woman who pretended not to know the guy, but for a day, they had sex—”
“Taxi!” She yelled, making me shake my head. “Instead of talking and talking in there, might as well
you ride—”
“You can admit that you and Calyx spend quality time together, Cindy. You don’t have to be
ashamed. That’s why I’m wondering that you’re getting—”
“Zoe, please, let’s go,” Cindy interrupted as she pulled my left hand and dragged me inside the taxi.
I was surprised for a moment. I wasn’t expecting her next move.
“At the bar—”
“Dinner,” Cindy arched her brow as she red at her, “—remember?”
“What if Grant—”
“Now, you’re afraid to see Grant because you think about Hel—”
“I don’t want to hear about him.”
Cindy scoffed and didn’t mind that they were inside the cab. “We exchanged situations. But
honestly, Zoe. It would be best if you talked to Helios. Just like what I said the other day. Love is
really risky. God gives us challenges with a purpose. So, my dear friend, be true to yourself and
don’t be afraid to fight for your love. You’re lucky because you and Helios have a mutual
understanding—”
“That’s Calyx, right?!” I suddenly asked as my eyes darted past through the window.
I frowned. “Look… that’s—”
“Shut up, Zoe. You’re really ruining my mood,” Cindy said as she pierced her death re at me.Owned by N?velDrama.Org.
