Chapter 157
Supposedly, the wedding between Rawlf and Veronica was to be held by the end of the year for a
grand preparation.
With the old madam Sy, Vanessa Sy and the aristocratic blooded Celerina Wang, simplicity is not
included in their vocabry.
However, with the news that Veronica was more than four weeks pregnant, and with the couple
who decided to hold the wedding on a much earlier date, the two old madam were both joyfully excited
yet slightly disappointed.
Joyfully excited because a new addition and source of joy will be added to their family yet slightly
disappointed because they could no longer achieve the wedding of the century n that they wanted
for both their children.
It''s not only the old madam of course that are happy and excited about the news of Veronica''s
pregnancy! The two old masters and closest members to the SyWang and Wang family are as well!
With conversation in between, and to consider that the following months would no longer be
convenient for Veronica and since Rawlf does not want it that Veronica has to birth first before the
wedding, they all agree to set it right on the first week of the next month of August.
Therefore, the Rawlf and Veronica wedding will happen soon as expected.
The wedding however was set privately. Only the immediate family members and closest friends
were invited to the wedding venue. And to make up for the other family members and family friends,
they were all invited to the reception.
Virginia''s bridesmaid was Rose and Rawf''s best man was Ric. The flower girl of course is Baelfair
who happily enjoyed her part in her parents wedding with Baelfire, as the ring bearer.
With both Rawlf and Veronica''s personality, the wedding atmosphere was solemn, intimate and
private.
The wedding itself was held at the top floor of Sy International and the reception, at the spacious
lobby of the skyscraper!
Heaving a sigh of relief, Veronica looked around. She was, of course, happy inside.
"Everything alright? Is there any difort you feel?" Rawlf asked as his expression was cloth
with worry, his left palm on her lower back, gently massaging her while his right palm on her abdomen,
softly rubbing her.
''Really, this man.''
"I''m fine. I''m honestly just relieved that the wedding is done and now I no longer have to worry
about anything else, well, I mean, I now only need to focus on my pregnancy."
"We both will. Although this is not the wedding that I want to give you but I have to be honest that
our private wedding is also…. ,well." Rawlf pause to find a good word while he was still trying to gently
massage her back and abdomen.
They were already seated and the guests happily mingled with one another. After all, this is the
final phase of the wedding reception, the guests eating and drinking to their heart''s content while
wishing the newlyweds with good and auspicious words.
"I feel the same", Veronica cut him off, smiling.
"In fact, I prefer this."
Rawlf softly pressed his lips at the top of her head.
"I''ll give you a grander wedding next,-"
"No. Not anymore. I love the fact that I''m wedded to you but please, no more weddings. Besides,
instead of focusing our energy for that grand wedding, it''s better that we provide it to this bean",
Veronica pointed on her still t stomach,
"which next year will also be added to our family." She concluded.
"Your wish is mymand but what have you been looking-" Rawlf paused as he followed
Veronica''s line of sight and saw the man that was talking with Rose.
Seeing his reaction, Veronica asked,
"You know him?"
"Yeah…."
"Who is he?"
"An acquaintance."
"Is he a good man?"
Rawlf didn''t answer. He looks Veronica in the eyes before replying,
"What do you think?"
"As long as he does not hurt my friend."
Veronica said it in a dangerous tone.
Rawlf: "...."
"Oh, the twins! Where?"
"Due to the matters earlier this afternoon, our cubs were probably exhausted and had retired an
hour earlier. d informed me. Nothing to worry about."
"That''s good to know."
Rawlf nodded as he continued gently rubbing Veronica on her stomach and back without any sign
of impatience.
"If you know him, why don''t we approach them so you could introduce him to me?" Veronica''s
voice was filled with curiosity.
"It looks like you are interested in that man? Remember, we just got married." Rawlf then chuckled.
"Well Mr. Sy, I am much more interested in my friend''s welfare, especially that it involves my
Rose."
"My Rose." This time, the jealousy in Rawlf''s tone is real.

"Ohe on, love."
Seeing the exasperation on her face and with the doctor''s advice about Veronica''s pregnancy,
Rawlf decided not to dwell with it anymore and instead replied,
"The man was a college ssmate back in H university, quite an outstanding man. He helped us in
locating and cornering Pyotr in Country J, which is his home country. However, I didn''t expect that he
would being here…." Rawlf pause,
"He''s not even invited."
"Then how-", Veronica once again paused and with glee in tone continued,
"Oh my bad ads Rose left him alone. Well, that''s my Rose for you. Oh wait, he''sing to us!"
Rawlf could only helplessly shake his head.
"Congrattions on your wedding Mr. and Mrs. Sy,Since this old friend of yours was obviously
forgotten, I invited myself in." The man greeted them.
His voice was mellow yet deep. And if not because the man beside her is an exceptionally
handsome one, Veronica would definitely droll at just the closer sight of the man.

His foxy, phoenix eyes are enigmatic and Veronica has to admit that with aesthetic value, the man
is undeniably magnificently handsome!
''This man isn''t simple.'' Veronica thought.
"Thank you Mr. Mo. It looks like you''ve be sociable now seeing that you were talking to my
wife''s friend earlier."
"I didn''t expect that the adorable woman I talked to earlier is a close friend of Mrs. Sy."
Both Rawlf and Veronica were shocked to hear the word "adorable"ing from the man!
For Rawlf, this is his first time hearing such endearing words from the man especially that it refers
to a woman and for Veronica, Rose is beautiful, empowered, powerful, confident, serious, cold, distant,
dark but she never expected that a man would call her friend as adorable. ''Wow!''
"Veronica. Just call me that since you are my husband''s friend."
"Well,"
"Since we just had our wedding, I hope Mr. Mo would enjoy this night as well. I''ll have my secretary
contact your assistant, old friend."
The man Rawlf called Mr. Mo nodded at them briefly, understanding what Rawlf meant in his
words before walking his way out of the venue as well.
Watching his leaving back, Veronica stared at Rawlf.
"Are two good friends?"
"It depends."
"?"
"Depends on each interest. I wonder why the man was here."
"Hmm."
The couple didn''t wait for the guests to retire but instead went ahead when Rawlf noticed that
Veronica started to show drowsiness. It''s already eleven in the evening and with Veronica''s situation,
she should have been resting now.
Leaving the rest to the two old madams, the couple sneaked to the top floor, directly to Rawlfs
office where the twins are sleeping in his spacious sleeping room.
Since Veronica also didn''t want to travel, their honeymoon was postponed and the couple decided
to stay in the country to spend it with their cubs.
Reaching the sleeping room, Rawlf and Veronica were surprised to see that the little cubs they
thought to be sleeping were still wide awake and looked like they were having a serious conversation.
"Why are you two still up yet?"
Veronica asked as she sat at the edge of the King size bed. Rawlf quickly knelt at the foot and
gently removed the woman''s heels before changing them to a pair of wool open toe indoor slippers.
"Weh (we''re) not sweepy (sleepy) mommy."
"We decided to rest since Fair earlier told me her foot hurts." Fire added.
"Why don''t you change first so you could finally feelfortable."
Rawlf urged Veronica as he carefully handed her a ss of milk.
"I''ll finish this first."
Rawlf replied an "Hmm" before also handing the twins each of their milk.
"d told me you don''t want to drink your milk earlier because you were full. Now it''ste at night
and you two haven''t slept yet. Finish your milk."
Rawlf''s voice was stern but once his hand was free after the twins took the milk from him, he
gently rubbed both children at the top of their head.
Seeing Veronica finished the milk as well, he continued,
"I''ll take care of the twins. You can change in the bathroom. Your sleeping dress is hanging inside"
he paused as if thinking,
"Or better yet, I apany you to change to be sure you won''t slip or-,"
"Love. Chill." Veronica chuckled as she kissed the twins forehead before walking to the bathroom.
''Really, this man.''
Once changed, Veronica went out of the bathroom and seeing the twins were already asleep,
Veronica smiled,her heart was full.
Rawlf had covered the twins carefully with a duvet and got out of bed when he saw her.
"How are you feeling?" He asked as he went over Veronica.
"My heart is full."
Veronica replied as he went into his embrace. Rawlf on the other closed his eyes as he tried to
control the tightening in his chest.
He let out a sigh as he pulled her gently closer to him. Then he started showering her with kisses.
"Oh!"
Veronica was caught in surprise when Rawlf suddenly carried her, princess carry andter,
carefully put her on the bed.
"I love you so much. Thank you for the twins. Thank you for the little bean", he then softly caressed
her stomach.
"I love you too." Veronica replied.
Rawlf smiled brightly as he knelt and rested his head on herp.
Veronica caresses his hair slowly.
"Thank you for everything, My love. Thank you."
"Hmm."
Each held a bright and content expression.
The room was silent but filled with warmth, intimacy, understanding and unconditional love.
This same emotion will forever etched on each other''s hearts for each other, forevermore.
