“I told you not <b>to </b>mess with me. But no, you wanted to prove how courageous you are. What happened to that courage? It went down the drain, didn’t it?”
ire kept looking at the document in <b>front </b>of her. Even if she had cunning things <b>to </b>say to Zara, it was pointless.
The truth was, she had lost. She lost the battle she boastfully jumped in, hoping that she would win because she was the one who was married for two years to the <b>man </b><b>she </b>was fighting for.
It was him who made her lose. So it would be dumb to speak now
She quietly scribbled her signature on the document and dropped the pen on it.
“<b>Take </b><b>my </b>advice, ire, now if you want to live a peaceful life then don’t cross our path. Hunter and I are inseparable. You will only get disappointment and more defeat if you try your luck <b>with </b>my man again.”
My <b>man</b>? <b>ire </b>was flummoxed to
o hear that.
Before she reacted <b>with </b>words, both the official and Hunter returned. He looked <b>between </b>her <b>and </b>Zara <b>grimly</b>. As if trying to find what they were talking about.
The official didn’t let him dwell on it as he handed him two signed copies of divorce certificates. Hunter thanked him and he exited his office with Zara and ire as some couples were lining outside his cabin to register their marriage.
“ire,” Hunter called her name as he forwarded her copy of the divorce certificate.
She literally snatched it from his <b>hand </b>and whirled around to leave. However, his calloused and hot fingers seized hold of her <b>wrist </b>again.
“Let go, Mr. MacIntyre ire said sharply.
She felt him move behind her. He stopped with his chest pressing on her back. Goosebumps cascaded along her spine. Not. that he had any right to stand this closer with her, she forcefully withdrew her hand out of his touch and turned to eye him, murderously.
“We’ve been married for two years. <b>Can’t </b>you wait until we exchange our parting words? Why are you in a <b>rush</b><b>?</b>”
“I don’t know <b>you </b>anymore. And there’s no need <b>for </b>any parting words. Remember, you eagerly wanted this!” She shed her copy of divorce certificate in front of his eyes.
“Celebrate our divorce consider me dead.”
Hunter opened his mouth to rebuke, “I’m sorry, ire. This is happening because of me. I shouldn’t havee between <b>you </b><b>two</b>.”
He blinked <b>his </b>eyes <b>and </b>scowled at Zara who said those <b>words</b><b>,</b>
“You didn’te between us, Zara, Don’t say <b>that </b><b>again</b>. He frowned.
“No matter what <b>you </b><b>say</b>, Hunter, the truth will <b>remain </b>as is that came in between you two. Can you please move a little so I can <b>speak </b>with ire. She stepped ahead, between ire and Hunter.
Zara took ire’s <b>hand </b>and squeezed it apologetically in her holl as she spoke, “ire, I know you hate me for this, but please, don’t hate me a lot. I swear I tried to stop this divorce. But Hunter won’t let me <b>go</b><b>.</b>

“I am a woman too and know what it feels like to be separated from the man you love.” Zara smirked as she squeezed <b>ire’s </b>hand tighter.

“Marry him today?” ire repeated those words, her eyes stalling on Hunter’s face in disbelief.
“<b>Yeah</b>, he insisted that we get married today itself. Though I told him we can do it some other day, he wants it today.” Zara pulled her hand to her chest and continued in her deceitfully inpocent voice, “Please, don’t me me for it. ire. ire was too numb to hear anything ahead. She blinked back the tears forming <b>and </b>smiled.
“Congrattions to you both <b>then</b><b>.”</b>
“Thanks. By the way, can I ask you something if <b>you </b>don’t mind
Yanking her hand out of Zara’s clutch, ire locked eyes with Hunter as she replied to Zara
“Why not?”
“Hunter didn’t buy me a ring. I mean, he intended to buy a new one for me but then we remembered that the rings you and he exchanged were my dream rings. They were designed for our wedding. Although he has his wedding ring, the one that was mine is on your finger… Zara trailed off, causing ire to bring her eyes to her.
She arched her eyes, allowing Zara to go ahead with her demands.
She already said so much. Why was she hesitating now?
“So… If you don’t mind-
“Why will I mind? This is your ring. It was made for you. It belonged to you always. I’ve been unknowingly cherishing stuff that wasn’t mine from the start. ire sneered without taking her eyes off Hunter.
She took off the ring with her other hand and pped it <b>on </b>Zarak palm. She was violent. But still, neither Zara nor Hunter reacted to it

Hunter swallowed hard over those words. He was about to move Zara aside and talk with ire when she spun around and exited. He kept staring unless she disappeared from his sight, leaving his heart pounding.

Her health <b>has </b>recoveredpletely and so to keep it that way, when she asked when they would get married, to prevent her from bothering him <b>again </b>and again with the question, he said <b>that </b>it would be on the same day he and ire receive their divorce certificate.
Now as he thought about it, a heavy feeling seuled in his chest. Why did he say it <b>to </b>Zara?
Above all… Of all people, ire had to know it first. He felt his heart racing in his chest, thinking about what ire would
think now.
