Chapter 24
The days passed quickly and now Jewel is now extra careful in everything she does, because she
knows she will give birth anytime. She is often in the condo and doesn''t go out much because it is
difficult for her to walk and she also gets tired quickly.
In the past few months, Monique has been always with her, they have be even closer to each
other, sometimes the girl sleeps in her unit. While Cain, on the other hand, still managed to call
everyday to make sure that she is okay. And also for the past months Monique and Cain became a
couple.
Jewel is now here in the terrace of her unit, she often walks here to breathe fresh air. As she looked at
the huge buildings when she suddenly felt that her stomach ached, she quickly sat in the chair but as
time went on she was in excruciating pain until she felt like there was liquid dripping down her thigh.
She cried out in extreme pain and didn''t know what to do.
Monique POV
As the elevator opened I quickly went out and excitedly walked towards Jewel''s unit, I was carrying a

variety of choctes that I bought earlier when I passed in a sweet cafe on my way here. I know that
she will be happy because she loves to eat like this.
While I was in front of the door of her unit I suddenly felt nervous for no apparent reason,ter on I
heard an ented shouting from inside so I inserted the card in the door and opened it, I quickly
walked into the unit to look for Jewel.
When I saw her on the terrace and writhing in pain while holding onto her stomach, I immediately
attended to her. "Jewel what happen?" I asked incredulously.
"Nic, I-I''m going to give birth." She answered while in pain
"Oh My God! Just wait, I''ll call for help. Hold on." I said and quickly run out to seek for a help. She had
to ask for help because she could not lift the girl.
Just as she exited she saw two male staff of the condo. She quickly asked for help with them.
Jewel was immediately taken to the ambnce and Monique didn''t know what to do because she
could see that the girl was having a hard time and was hurting. She held her hand tightly.
"Hold on Jew, in any minute we will be in the hospital." She said,
A few minutester they reached the hospital. Jewel was quickly rushed to the delivery room.
Monique kept going back and forth because of the nervousness she was feeling, so she called Cain to
let him know what had happened to Jewel. She knew that Cain would book a flight back to Canada
right away.
As she waited outside the delivery room her phone suddenly rang. She picked it up quickly thinking it
was Cain who called but she was disappointed to read the caller''s name.
"Hello." she greeted after answering the call
"What''s the news Monique? How are you?" the female voice on the other line asked
"As I told youst week Marga, it''s still the same." She replied
"Goodjob Monique! Just continue your friendship with that woman ."
"Marga, do you think this is right? We can stop pursuing this n. We both know it''s not her fault." I
insisted
"Of course this is the right thing to do, Monique! What''s wrong with you, huh? She''s the one to me
for everything, for what happened to him. Don''t ruin the long -established n we have. You will help
me with everything right?"
"Y-yes Marga, I will always help you." I answered weakly
"I knew it! I know you''ll help me. I thought you were going to trade me for that woman."
She sighed before answering. "I won''t do that Marga, you know how precious and important you are to
me."
Their conversation didn''tst long either.
When she dropped the call, she just sat on the chair near where she was. She no longer knew what to
do. In the past months that she met Jewel he knew the girl was kind and she couldn''t afford to see the
girl hurt, but the woman she was talking to was also important to her and she couldn''t leave her on the
air just like that.
Her mind was in turmoil and she didn''t know what to do anymore. She knew by the time Cain found out
everything she was sure it would make him angry and the young man might not forgive her.
In the past month Cain and Monique have improved, it''s been 4 months since they became in a
rtionship. So she just feels so scared when Cain finds out what secret she is keeping. She loves the
young man so she doesn''t know what to do when that day happens because by chance she might lose
the young man forever and that''s what she fears.
While Monique was deep in thought when the delivery room suddenly opened and it spat out a nurse
with a baby, she quickly approached it. "Ms. Is that the patient''s child inside? How''s the mother?" She
asked.
"Yes Ms. She''s resting right now because she''s so tired. She''s a brave woman." the nurse responded
while smiling.
The nurse said goodbye for a while because they were going to wash and fix the child. She was
relieved because she knew that the mother and daughter were in good condition.
After two hours, Jewel was moved to a private room so that she could rest more. Until now she''s been
conscious.
Monique is also here in the Jewel''s room and she is carrying the baby. She was happy because Jewel
was able to give birth to a very handsome child.
As she yed with the child she noticed Jewel''s eyes widened, she immediately approached it.
"How are you?" she asked while still carrying the baby.
The girl smiled at her. "I''m okay, is that my baby?" She asked
"Yes, this is it, he''s cute and handsome. The doctor wille back hereter to ask the baby''s name,
because I didn''t answer when he asked me because it''s better if you will be the one to give his name."
She said as she handed the baby to Jewel
Jewel felt so happy that she could hardly stop the tears from flowing in her eyes when she saw and
touched her child, even though she suffered a lot in the past still she was given a precious
blessing.
