Chapter 22
Cain POV
I was as if I woke up from a deep sleep because of what Monique told me, I wanted to help and
understand Jewel so that she wouldn''t feel alone but I added to her problem.
And now that I was talking to her, she still remained bent over and not looking at me. She had been like
this since I came home one day and she cooked food for me as a peace offering but I refused it and
said I was full because I had finished eating.
After that incident I noticed that she is starting to distance herself from me, I often saw her looking at

me but she is always silent even Monique also noticed it. So I decided to talk to her so that we could
get along. I don''t want to go back to the Philippines and leave her here because we have a
misunderstanding. I don''t want to add to her stress because that will affect her and the baby.
"Jew," I began and she immediately looked at me but only for a moment
"Can we talk? I know we have a misunderstanding. I don''t want to prolong this." I added
She immediately caught my eye. "I understand Cain, why you are like that to me, why you''re angry. I
know what I did was wrong and disrespectful then." She replied
"I was just driven by my emotions, I was just too worried about you when I saw you unconscious and
then I found out you were pregnant." Cain said in a low voice
"I''m sorry Cain, I didn''t think about how you would feel. You''ve been there for me since the beginning. I
was too rushed with my decisions and I didn''t think those people around me would be affected. I almost
killed my child. I was just too scared to face the fact that I was pregnant and Thunder was the father. I
had already left, but destiny itself followed me. "
The young man moved a little towards the girl. "The baby is still a blessing. Whatever problem you
have with Thunder, the baby is out there. It was given to you so that you could be with someone." I said
"I don''t know, until now I still don''t know what to do. It happens too fast. I''m not stable yet, the dark past
that happened to me hasn''t healed yet and now this." Jewel confessed.
"You''re strong and I know you can do it. I will always be here for you and the baby." I reassured to her
She immediately nodded and smiled.
"Thank you, Cain! Thank you for everything. Thank you for all the things you''ve done to me, without
you and your help I wouldn''t know what to do." She said
"I will always do everything for you. You are not only my friend, but you are a sister to me." I said
smiling
"Oh! It''s only for now, but when you will have a girlfriend for sure you''ll be focusing on her." Jewel said
jokingly
"You''re too advanced thinking that way. I don''t want to enter into a rtionship for now ."
"Whatever you say, you thought I didn''t notice that you and Monique had something." She said
simultaneously
"That''s fake news! What are you talking about."
"What you say is different from what your eyes are telling and showing." She burst out
"It''s up to you, just eat this and forget what you are thinking." I said giving her the food
"You''re really mean to me." She said pouting while eating her fries
"Anyway Jew, after three days I''ll be back in the Philippines. I need to attend the board meeting and it
might take me a while to get back here. I have a lot of work to take care of in the office." I suddenly said
"I told youst time that you can go ande back to the Philippines. Your job and life is there so you
can''t stay here for long just because of me."
"Are you sure you''ll be okay here? I''m notfortable leaving you here alone, especially now that
you''re pregnant." I said in a serious voice
"Cain, you''re really crazy. I''m okay here. Don''t say that you want me to go back there also? Hahahaha."
She saidughing
"Monique will be here to apany you. She told me that she will always visit you here, just to make
sure you are okay."
She immediately pped me on the shoulder. "Monique is not a caretaker, you idiot! Don''t worry about
me and the baby. I''m okay here, don''t bother her anymore. She also has her own life and business that
needs to be focused on."
"As long as you need to always update me on what''s happening to you, and if you''re not feeling well,
you go to the hospital right away or call Monique. You understand?" I reminded her
"Oo daddy! Hahahaha kidding. You''re saying too much as if you will go now, there are still 3 days left
before you go." Sheughed while leaning on my shoulder
"Just take care of yourself and the baby. Continue your life Jew and be happy, you deserve it." I said
I didn''t hear her answer as long as she just leaned on my shoulder with her eyes closed but I knew that
she was listening to what I was saying.
"Are you sleepy? Come , I''ll apany you in your room now."
She nodded in response, so I immediately helped her to the bedroom so that she could rest well.
When we entered her room, she immediatelyy down. I turned on the aircon and sat on the side of her
bed.
"Sleep now, you look tired because of walking earlier." I ejacted as she looked at me
She nodded and immediately closed her eyes.
As I was watching Jewel I suddenly thought about how Thunder was, since I left with Jewel I have had
no news of him, even Dark I have not talked to him until now, ourst conversation was when he called
me a month ago.
I want to hear Thunder’s side, what really happened and why he did it to his own wife. I know Thunder I
believe that he has no intention in hurting Jewel, I know they''re not okay as a couple, but I believe he
can''t do this thing to Jewel without any reason.
I hate him but he is still my best friend and doesn''t want to be unfair or one sided. I know the hardship
Jewel went through but I don’t know what has been going on with Thunder in the past months we’ve
been gone.
I believe he doesn''t really hate Jewel, I know that somehow he also loves her because they have
known each other for a long time even when we were kids, I just don''t know why they are like this.
I''m wishing that the time woulde when they would be able to forgive and ept each other for
their future child.
