 Re-Isekaied...Again? Chapter 1 (part 1)

    Dave was at one point subaverage at best, born in a world where disease, genetic defects, mental illness, and most other human concerns had long been dealt with. When the "sky broke" he was drinking at home alone. While the world did not end he died when one of the many meteorites vaporized his apartment. Of course, he was reincarnated in a "sword and sorcery" type world where he was granted an inventory and some of the other ''typical'' cheats granted to reincarnates. A HERO was born, lived, and conquered, just when he was about to claim the throne of humanity...he was summoned to another world. The goddess he had previously met apologized offhandedly and sent him onward to what could only be called a grimdark world as a summoned hero with all the glory that goes with it. After all the demons and undead fell by the wayside his family and children gathered by his deathbed and said their goodbyes.


    "I''m sooo sorry!" cried the same goddess as before.


    "what? ahh.." Dave was now completely out of his depth even with all that had previously happened


    For some reason, the goddess was on her knees in a Japanese dogeza. "I''m so sorry, I messed up!"


    dave had no idea what was going on, but seeing her on her knees with tears in her eyes he couldn''t help but kneel and place a hand on her shoulder.


    "you''ll forgive me?" she asks


    "For what!?" Dave still confused


    at the moment looks up at Dave with a sad smile "So you do forgive me, thank the elders. I thought you would hate me for all eternity."


    Again Dave''s confusion was immeasurable and apparent in his expression. "What are you on about!?"


    "oh..." the goddess began to explain her mistake and his future.

    At this point, Dave only had the ability to stare blankly at the fumbling goddess, his mind not able to grasp the concepts she was trying to convey. of course, he understood the multiverse but what was the greater multiverse? why would it have different rules? What did that have to do with him? why was she so frantic about all this?


    "O.K.! one thing at a time!" Dave shouted out of both anger and frustration. "please I don''t understand anything you are saying."


    for a moment the goddess looked like she was about to cry, however, Daves almost begging look calmed her heart. She took a deep breath and began to explain how the true infinite worked. it is easy enough to explain how a multiverse is most like a tree with endless branches. but to explain the infinite as the forest said tree is in requires a level of understanding beyond human capability. the summation sounds like an obvious reality but the implications are far beyond what is known. in a multiverse, some people exist and others do not, and while it is infinite the ''Laws'' remain the same.


    the infinite greater multiverse however had entirely different laws from gravity to light. this is why one hero seems stronger than another in fiction. in one the world is bigger speed has a limit, and in another dragons or words that affect the flow of world events. while all fictional worlds do exist [excluding bad fan fic] they mostly remain independent of one another.


    the explanation droned on for what seemed like hours but within the godly domain time is irrelevant and at no point made more sense to Dave, [ again not even average intelligence ] "I still don''t get it"


    "I''m sorry but I don''t know how to really explain this to you but you cannot truly die" Her expression was solemn "And I do mean ever, you will come back here as I grow old and then on."


    Dave could not but stare blankly at the fullness of what he had been told, so far out of even multi-world human expectations that a standard Isekai story was mundane by comparison.


    "to do something to prove my sincerity and truly apologize I have asked a sister to allow you entrance into a Mirim world to cultivate immortality and live more happily in true eternity, again I''m sorry!"

    Dave woke up with the single worst hangover he had ever had, largely because his poison resistance had rendered him immune to all toxins, and couldn''t even get his buzz on. As he tried to shake his head clear he called up his status display.


    "O.K. so reincarnation debuff sucks. The rest checks out," he grumbled as he took in his surroundings.


    The hilltop view of a valley city in a very mountainous region covered largely in trees he did not recognize.


    "Dragon Eyes!" his declaration caused his irises to grow into slits and allowed him to view the city gate as if he were in line to enter. The walls were HUGE 3 stories tall and almost half as thick. The gate is so large a 4-lane highway would fit with room to spare, the colossal red doors covered in iron discs closed and guarded with no road in Dave''s direction told him all he needed to know.


    "Aight, dangerous forest maybe animals or another nation they ain''t gonna let me in just cuz I say hi."


    Dave lived as a prime example proving the difference between ''smart'' ''intelligent'' and ''wise''. While his stats would have one believe he was the greatest mind in all of history, he wasn''t all that bright. He decided to check the woods and see how he stacked up in this new world.


    Fortunately for Dave, his luck was as high as the rest of his stats. He only came across a dire wolf and his inventory still functioned so he could use one of the swords he hadn''t left for his descendants, a worthless iron one. The auto disassembly provided him with unexpected items, on top of the standard meat, fangs, claws, and fur as normal he also got blood and a small demon core.


    "The hail is this." Dave examined a small marble-like stone but his identity only said [small demon core $unknown] "Oh thanks so helpful, what''s it for?" Dave could only sigh, Identify only worked on things he was vaguely aware of if he knew the value of any demon core it would automatically value this one and so on. "Search!" instantly a root two mushrooms and a flower began glowing orange. "K so alchemy''s a thing here" Dave grabbed the items and started towards the gate.


    he searched his inventory debating whether to wear armor cheap clothes or his more noble outfits, he settled on an upper-middle-class merchant with light armor and a sword. respectable by profession reasonable to be in the woods low profile perfect.


    "Halt!" shouted a guard dave held up his hands but did not slow.


    "Hey bud, just want a bed and some food. Not gonna start nothin''."


    Years of adventuring and war had given Dave a good understanding of guardsmen. The guards lowered their weapons and one took three steps and waited for Dave.


    "Why were you out in the wilds? And where is your pass token?" distrust and disdain evident in the man''s voice.


    "Dude, came from that way" gesturing toward the hill he had arrived on. "Never been here before"


    the look on the guard''s face was pure shock "But it is 10,000 miles of wildland in every direction out this gate, no human has ever come from that direction before!" the fear and distrust in his voice evident.

    "Charm!" the spell made Dave seem far more likable than a family pet and more trustworthy to boot.


    "come on dude it''s been a long day and I just want some grub n'' zs." Dave gave his warmest smile and tilted his head ever so slightly. This was enough to appease the guard. Dave entered through the side door and began to explore the town. The first thing Dave did was to seek out the money changer. He still had trillions in various currencies but that tended to mean little in a new country or this case world.


    The trade pavilion was a 7-story building with gruff-looking men standing at all points of interest. dave stood at the front counter, the sweaty pudgy grotesque man standing behind the counter. "so you seek to trade?" the fact that this man could ooze scumminess had become a new level of repugnant. Dave placed 15 gold coins on the counter, "what is this worth?" the man looked at the coins shook his head, placed 3 dumpling-shaped gold pises on the counter, and waved Dave away with notable indifference. At that point, Dave placed the ''demon core'' on the counter. The man gave a heads-up gesture to the security nearest to them. "we''ll just take this off your hands, as you know all cultivation resources belong to the Lee family."


    Dave placed the core mack in his inventory "I think not ma man, mine is mine . . ." Before Dave could finish his sentence a sword was waving in his face. Dave slapped the sword halfway into the floor and nudged the man across the room. "This won''t end well if you push your luck, give me a fair price n'' the things yours." now surrounded with swords and spears.


    "Anyone that defies the Lee family will be punished severely, now hand over the demon pill you thief!" Dave gave it some thought, maybe it was the law in the area but his Bullshit meter was redlining. "Push!" a wave of energy knocked everyone off their feet within a 25-foot radius. dave walked out of the building and made his way to the street market.


    he found that the people would sell him things for the silver coins he had, as no one could make change for the gold dumpling things or his gold coins. he bought some odds-and-ends food for later and some meat sticks to eat now. Dave sat on a stone bench near a tree and began to eat "Obzerve!" a mini-map opened in Dave''s mind he could see several homeless near him, other shoppers going to and frow and a group of men heading straight toward him highlighted in red.


    Dave handed his meat sticks to the closest waif "Get out of here and take the others with you troubles a bruin" The small girl smiled and nodded giving an affirmative "mn" before scampering off. The question now was how to play this his base stats were high enough to level a small nation except Dave lived by the creed of ''Be excellent to everyone'' and ''never start a fight finish them''. it was obvious to Dave the Lee family was either a corrupt noble type or the local mob. it didn''t matter Dave hated bullies.


    "you there hand over all your treasures and we''ll forgive you." an arrogant-looking well-dressed man in his 20s surrounded by men in something similar to samurai armor with pointy iron helms and what could almost be called an exhibitionist woman in sheer silk that barely covered he more than generous figure. "excuse you?" was all Dave could manage the audacity of the man left him in near shock.


    "you have insulted the Lee family so you must pay I believe I am being magnanimous only taking your treasures, now hand them over." Dave held back a laugh long enough to hold up a hand "This ain''t gonna go how you think it''s gonna go." the near laughter in his voice infuriated the self-righteous prick "Leave that arm behind as well while I''m still feeling generous!" at this dave took a half step forward and slapped the snob hard enough to knock out half his teeth and send him bouncing off the ground. "Kill!" shouted the trollop in silk


    "Still!" everyone was frozen in place as Dave pulled out his favorite mace an evil-looking baseball bat with what looked like jagged axe blades in the four directions at the end he was debating executing this filth when a beggar ran up to him and grabbed his arm


    "Come with me if you want to live." Dave could only laugh and fallow.

    Dave followed the grubby-looking beggar to the back of the nearby slums to a small shack next to the outer wall. "dude? Why the freak? those chumps got nothin." Dave''s nonchalant attitude seemed to disturb the Poor man to an alarming degree


    "It''s not them you have to worry about, the patriarch and the ancestor are at levels you dare not confront!" the scruffy man gestured to a small table, and cushion for Dave to sit. he was served a cheap tea without scones nor cake a sad state for sure.


    "the patriarch is at the blood transformation stage and the ancestor at the core condensing stage!" The blank look on Dave''s face was so loud the man had no choice but to explain


    "In this region, core condensing is as high as anyone can go before the tribulation becomes lethal, Even if you''re close you can''t compete" The man seemed to know far more than he was willing or able to tell, largely because he had no way of knowing the kind of information dave needed.


    "K. Dude. got no clue what you''re on about . . . the Fuck does any of that mean?" A friendly but blank look on Dave''s face left the man perplexed HOW could someone so powerful not understand the basics!?


    "Please senior what part has left your greatness unsure?" it was evident the man was looking for something other than simple ignorance as a twinkle of hope hid behind the man''s eyes.


    Dave really didn''t want to divulge his past lives as it would be ''problematic'' for many reasons. First and foremost it did tend to make people question his sanity or conversely try to take advantage of him and his ignorance in an unknown land. "How bout you start with your name, then what ya mean by ''stage'' cuz I got nothing"


    With great pride the man bowed deeply to Dave "This humble one is called Ding Dong" Dave choked on his laughter and the tea.


    "as for the stages, senior must know them by different names or skipped them outright as I myself had." Now Dave was interested. "Go on."


    "The stages start at foundation creation, then bone tempering, followed by blood transformation, core condensing, body refining, soul strengthening, Dao beginning, Dao tempering, dao strengthening and The grate Dao formation."

    this seemed to be the beginner''s guide to the world. But the thing that had always helped Dave the most was the ''players guide'' which never existed in the here and now but was something he could access through the Akashic records.


    "so dude I don''t need the terror you are oozing, I got this." Dave was not overly plused by the situation as he had no idea how his base stats, profession, or perks related to the ''cultivators'' power.


    "you wanna start at the start, so''s I get where you''re goin''?'' " I''m level 356, and that''s like massive with a word I can end all life everywhere ''Ragnarok'' ends all life / everywhere forever and breaks the world literally I can punch mountains and far more all my base stats are at cap.


    With the pure begging in his posture and sorrow in his voice "A decade ago I could stand above a Dao strengthening expert, my cultivation was shattered by my enemy so I ran here to try and heal, they could not follow due to the restriction of the land. the stats as you call them should only be possible as a higher level of immortal than I''ve ever met"


    the possibility of another discovering the truth of his power was not the only issue, Dave had opposed the natural order of the world simply by being.


    "Here dude, try this [low elixer]" Dave gave the man a purple potion with no concern toward the consequence. Ding Dong almost instantly regained all his past power but without the deadly lightning. he placed his head on the ground and begged Dave to make him an apprentice.


    "so dude What the actual Eff..is going on?" Both Dave and Dong were unable to consider one another, as the world of experience was so alien to one another the idea of levels as opposed to stages where as strange as blood magic to karma...it took some time for Dave to have the personal fortitude and simple trust to allow the neighborhood serfs as well as his new apprentice a demonstration. Dave showed he could equip armor out of thin air, lift tonnes with no effort, juggle daggers blindfolded, and run fast enough to break the sound barrier.


    "see that''s what I mean by base stats, still have no idea what cultivation does differently."


    Dong finally understood when he used his ki sense to feel Dave''s cultivation only to find it was barely even a root not even in the foundation stage. The revelation of this would rock the world with Dave outmatching all the powerhouses of the empire with what boiled down ''human limits'' . . . what happens if he cultivates?

    Dave spent the next hour explaining the difference between skills, abilities, spells, and his stats. Titles were difficult to explain because not even the Akashic records could explain how one person got a specific one and the next could not. Dave had many titles the new one he could understand how he got [denizen of all worlds] ''Your soul has been removed from life and death you may never rest in peace, you will keep everything in your inventory and all skills, etc. gained you may freely use any that do not directly violate the laws of the world in which you currently reside.''


    The Akashic records were blank on every page except for [conditions to access not met] on every page. Well, that''s helpful, what conditions Dave explored his memories yet could not recall the prior conditions nor did he remember enough about the fue stories of cultivators he had read to be of any help. Dong too was in deep thought trying to parse how he could learn what Dave knew or how to help him begin cultivating.


    "well master you could either dominate this city and try to cultivate with the resources of the wilds and some random technics we can find around here or we can head north into the empire." neither seemed to thrill the man,


    "ya, we should head out I got nothin'' tien'' me down here and I wanna avoid a bloodbath." Dave pulled a cloke out of his inventory "Here put this on people will still see you but won''t pay you any mind unless you interact with them first." Dave simply equipped one himself.


    Dong gathered his meager belongings and the two set off to the north gate. "where is he rat? We know you know!" five men in armor were looming over the little girl Dave had fed earlier she was bawling, bleeding missing one hand one arm, and one leg. "please, I don''t know anything, please stop!"


    Her wail drove Dave into a rage, faster than anyone could blink the five men were nothing more than leg stumps in boots and a bloody mist that covered everything in sight as some even hung in the air drifting in the wind.


    "Absolute Heal!" Dave placed a hand on her cheek to wipe the tears as he invoked his spell. Her limbs reappeared in light her body glowed briefly fresh wounds and old scars even an unknown birth defect all instantly repaired themselves. The girl became far more healthy than any human had any right to be let alone an orfin from a slum.


    She began crying again "Thank you, Lilly is better, Lilly is so happy, Lilly, Lilly, Lilly . . ." Dave picked her up and held her in one arm against his chest. Lilly was no more than 7-8 years old and those men did that, Daves blood had gone from liquid fire and past to the now ice-cold god of death he had only ever unleashed against the Skin-waring cannibals. The ground began to frost ice crystals spread from his feet out in every direction a full 250 paces as snow began to fall around him.


    "DONG!, we are paying the lees a visit before we leave. Take me there now." the goofy smile friendly aura and warm voice Dave had always exuded was gone. Now fear filled the air Dong wanted to run the people nearby quickly vanished leaving an empty street. The sweat froze and flaked off Dong as he led the way keeping Lilly between himself and Dave. The cold was not affecting Dong or Lilly but both were shivering regardless.


    "there that is the Lee mansion." Dong pointed at a large gate with two guards in familiar armor.


    "Take Lilly and wait here, nobody needs to see what''s about to happen" In a blink Dave was wearing high-gloss black armor with twisted spikes and jagged edges on every surface a shield appeared on his left and burst into flames and his mace in his right began letting off a yellow-green vapor and droplets that sizzled as the acid vaporized the stone street. He did not slow nor run his pace a calm march as he approached the gate.

    "Halt where do you thi. . ." one guard began but could not finish as her body frosted over and shattered without Dave even sparing either a glance. His pace was constant even as he walked through the door splinters flying inward. The courtyard had many soldiers, some charged and met the same fate as those before others formed ranks but they failed no better, an arrow flew at him he merely raised his shield to head high with a bend of his elbow not braced at all. The arrow was ash before it hit and the woman that shot it burst into flames.


    "How Dare you attack our home, who do you think you are?!" the familiar voice shrieked nearby. Dave removed his helm glareing with unfettered disdain.


    "you are mistaken, this is no attack nor a war this is a simple extermination." the same march still unbroken now heading straight to the trembling oaf.


    "Stop, I command you to stop!" Dave was unsure if fear or rage dominated the man he didn''t care as he continued his unrelenting massacre of the slightly more resilient bodyguards slowed to a crawl in the holy-frost aura one fell to a shield bash and incinerated instantly another brushed to the side with the mace began melting to cold to even scream.


    "Father HELP!" Nearly running the Lee boy headed deeper into the compound.


    "you have embarrassed my family enough I suggest you leave while I still allow it" A man in fine red robes with a long beard, hair, and eyebrows for some reason. Dave is not too bright but still smart enough to know this option would not be offered if the man was certain he could win. Without hesitation, Dave continued his massacre.


    "Don''t refuse a toast to be forced to drink a forfeit young man! such behavior won''t end well for you!" Dave always found a villain''s righteous indignation hilarious but he wasn''t in the mood now.


    "The wicked Always see themselves as the hero, but when a tyrant falls none mourn them. Your line ends today." had either man known of horror movies Daves''s walk alone would have terrified them. The frost forming on their clothing did give them pause.


    "Than die!" The elder man thrust two fingers in Dave''s direction sending a sword of light right into the shield. The apparent Patriarch fell back onto one knee and coughed blood the instant the sword disappeared in smoke. The frost spread over them both the younger one torn between helping his father and running for his life, as soon as he turned his back he found a chunk of ice the size of a man''s fist sticking out of his chest he was dead before he felt the cold.


    The patriarch his eyes now glazed over in frost fell on his face having never broken his stride Dave continued to the latest building in the area. Several children and maids scattered at his approach his HUD showing many non-combatants hiding. Lightning struck the ground a short distance ahead of him in the spot now stood an extremely curvaceous and fair woman in her mid 20''s


    "Please calm your wrath powerful one we cannot oppose, I know I have been too lenient with my grandson and his children but my clan is not all so hungry as to forget our humanity." she as well as a few others now kowtowing to Dave.


    "Oh grate now I''m the bad guy . . ." Dave sighed as he placed a hand on the ''old/young'' woman''s shoulder. "I know you are a good person or you would already be dead. Holy frost can do no harm to those of good moral character." she looked up at him some anger some sorrow but mostly gratitude in her eyes.


    Instantly Dave was in some of his finer traveling cloaths weapons away and the frost melting. He flopped onto the ground in a sprawled-out seated position propped up on his hands leaning back and looking at the sky. "you know . . . I try really hard to be a good man, but I get it when some dude goes off over a dog and wipes out thousands. So what makes someone good."


    "Mercy, that alone makes you a better man than most. Those with power often forget standing on the other side." her warm sad smile stung Dave but he would do the same thing all over again without a second thought.


    A smirk and chuckle escaped at her answer "Dave, wish we met under better circumstances" now holding out a hand for a shake. "Lee Mai, ancestor of this clan, you will have to forgive me for not offering you hospitality." Dave got up to leave "Here this all started over this." Dave tossed her the demon pill "If it''s worth dien'' over I hope it helps and if not..." Dave shrugged and walked away.

    Dave exited the Lee home slightly more somber than before seeing the looks of fear on the faces of the only 2 people he knew. "know I went overboard, but I can''t let people like that go...ever again."


    "Lilly is sorry, Lilly knows you got mad for Lilly, you even made Lilly more healthy than ever you just scare Lilly when you''re mad."


    "She''s right master, you are more force of nature than man. The strong do as they will and the weak do as they must that is simply the way of things." At this Dong bowed at the waist hand over fist Lilly scrambled to copy him.


    Dave let out a deep breath he hadn''t realized he was holding "Right, Dong I think it''s time we left before more stupid hits us upside the head. Lilly, you should head home or wherever someone is waiting for you." correcting his mistake midsentence realizing how callus telling a homeless girl to go home was. he turned north out of the city when he felt a tug on the back of his cloke.


    "Please don''t throw Lilly away, Lilly has no one, only you are ever nice to Lilly!" the words almost a whisper carried her desperation.


    Dave knew the journey would be dangerous and difficult for a full-grown man near impossible for a child even more so for one so young and malnourished. on the other hand, it was evident her life here was no better. He knew he could not meet the girls'' eyes regardless of what he answered so hands on hips he again looked to the sky.


    "my lord this girl has strong spiritual roots but if we leave her behind the best she can hope for is a short life as a servant in a lower-class tavern or some such." Dong only speaking for Lilly after having lived in the slums for years.


    "O.K. o.k. let''s go little matchgirl you get the upgrade to a little orphan Annie" Dave took her tiny hand in his like he had his daughters in all three previous lives. they began heading to the gate


    "Lilly''s name is Lilly, not Annie" She was clearly upset but the reason eluded Dave. Her last memory of her mother was her saying '' I''m sorry I can''t give you anything more than a pretty name my little Lilly.'' shortly before she died. she cherished it even more than her life.


    "I know kiddo, Annie was an orphan who got adopted by a wealthy man in a story from my homeland, the little match girl froze to death I think so it''s an upgrade your name is yours." His tone is one of a long-practiced teacher and father. "MN!" and other happy loli noises were the reply.


    "master it''s evening and it will be late before we make it to the gate I suggest we find refuge for the evening and something to eat if we can find it." the journey to and fro had eaten the day far more than his ''police action'' to use an American euphemism.


    Dave looked over his companions both were unmistakably slum dwellers, His smile was almost a cartoonish Chesher cat "I said orphan Annie for a reason." as he pulled out a sack of gold coins. "let''s find a nice hotel." Dong raised an eyebrow and shrugged, Lilly was so flabbergasted she could be the dictionary picture for it.


    "clean!" Dave waved his hand at them removing all the dirt and dust from their body and clothes He knew they would still need a good soak but it was at least good enough to get them in the door. The diverting cloke would work for Dong but he had nothing for Lilly oh well gold speaks loud and magick is silent.


    "Welcome to Golden Crow you want food or room, Aiya, shoo shoo no beggars!" the man at the desk tried to drive Lilly out but as soon as Dave placed a hand on her shoulder he stopped. "Sir you think you do good thing but unless you keep not help." he spoke broken ''English'' which was weird Dave''s translation skill worked for literally any spoken or written language even some animals.

    "It''s okay bud I plan on keeping her for a long time, I just picked her up so I wanna feed her give her a bath and get her some clothes, if you can help with that I would ''appreciate'' that." a gold coin now in front of the mans face.

    cute? Dave thought. For the first time, he took a good long look at Lilly she was so tiny that alone did make a kid cute, her ruby red hair was still dull having only been cleaned with magic, but her bright emerald eyes shone with such beauty where she just an average woman... her skin was sickly pale probably due to malnutrition so it would take time.


    "A private room for three, full-course meal or no wait make it three of everything and then a sweet with a bath." the man was visibly confused for a second but you just don''t question the choices of a customer flashing gold like that. "Right away sir this way, if you need anything more this Jueyan will be at your service." Dave just nodded.


    The three sat as platter after platter was brought in fried, steamed, and roasted a full range of meat and vegetables the smells almost visible. Lilly rather than happy looked dumbfounded and somehow a little sad. Dave''s brain kicked into high gear and "Lilly, sweetheart you can try anything you want and eat your fill you''ll never go hungry again" Dave''s warm smile was met with sniffling and tears as soon as Dave stroked her hair he saw the smile he just nodded. Lilly ate with gusto making happy loli noises the whole time. Dong ate silently.


    "Lilly never ate so much, not in her whole life." sated and sleepy after a long day she yawned. Dave simultaneously scooped the little girl in one arm and stored all the leftovers with a wave of the other. Dave left a handful of silver coins on the table as he left the room. "Jueyan the room please."


    Lilly dozed on Dave''s shoulder until he lay her on the couch. "Dong you can use the bath first, use this." Tossing Dong some ''high quality'' soap, Dave proceeded to pull out some odd-looking materials silver thread, shiny black snakeskin, and poofy rainbow wool. Not going to ask was the thing he finally decided was best. In the time Dong took to get clean Dave had sewn a cute nighty and some fine-looking traveling clothes for Lilly. "level 100 sewing skill kinna busted huh?" smirking at Dong.


    gently stroking Lilly''s hair "Hey kiddo, wake up time for a bath." he spoke softly but her response could almost be described as fear or dread "Yes Master Lilly will wash you, Lilly is a good girl." Dave didn''t quite follow "Nah sweetness well clean you up good I can wash myself, you''re not a servant o.k.?" Her eyes watered a little as she nodded. without a word, Lilly took off her rags and waited for Dave to take the lead. He collected her rags thinking he would repair them later took her by the hand and led her to the bath. She sat rigid on the washing stool and waited. The scrubbing went with only 2 odd instances She giggled at the scalp massage, and in the brief moment Dave was scrubbing her groin and backside Lilly started to grind into his hand which he didn''t notice. After toweling her off Dave handed her the nighty rainbow wool feeling like the best mix of satan and fleece.


    "This is for Lilly?! thank you, master, Lilly loves it, Lilly has never had new clothes, can Lilly where them now?" Lilly was nearly vibrating and running the whole gamut of facial expressions. Dave only chuckled and nodded. gave her a little pat on the bottom. "ok off to bed" She froze for a moment and nodded her face now blank. Dave washed up equipped some boxers and hopped into bed only to find Lilly already there ''presenting'' herself "Wohw their sweetie come here a sec." "Sleep!" Dave held her in his arms covered them both snuggled tight and went to sleep.


    Dave woke up to a tiny hand trying to excise him from his boxers leaving him more confused than anything "Lilly is sorry, Lilly didn''t mean to fall asleep, Lilly is a good girl, Lilly knows all the good things, please master don''t hurt Lilly, Lilly will do a good job." she was frantic Dave did the only thing he could think of and just pulled her into a hug. they both cried silently.

 Re-Isekaied...Again? Chapter 2 (part 2)

    Before they went to breakfast Dave gave Lilly her new traveling clothes a cheongsam he had seen the locals wearing and a snakeskin riding cloak. Her lack of modesty as she changed made Dave flinch, it also warmed his heart as there was no fear only joy and excitement. Lilly carefully folded the nighty before delicately putting on the dress. Dave''s laugh startled Lilly and confused Dong. "That dress will straight up brick a 50cal. you ain''t gonna hurt it."


    Both of his companions stared at him. "Lilly takes good care of master''s things." "What is 50cal. master, I do not know that idiom?" Dong''s question brought Dave crashing back to reality his mind running through his past lives and nearly causing a moment of existential dread. He decided to sidestep that for now. "Lilly those are yours I give them to you to keep until you outgrow them, then I''ll make you new ones, and as for a 50cal. it means powerful weapons won''t even scratch it." Both now looking at the dress like it was a riddle with no answer. "What, How?"


    "I''ll explain that once we''re out of town, for now, Dong try this on." handing Dong blue mage robes. It had only now occurred to Dave the sheer size difference between him and everyone. At nearly 7 feet he stood head and shoulders over everyone. While a little long the robe fit. "Alright, let''s get the hell outa Dodge." the two looked at each other and then back at Dave. Sigh "Let''s eat and go."


    Lilly tried her hardest to be invisible, her shyness only making her stand out like a flare. She looked like a genuine princess the ice-blue dress made her ruby-red hair seem more liquid fire and the purple highlights made her emerald eyes pop and shine. Dave placed a hand on her back. "stand straight, be proud you look beautiful."


    "Ah, master Dave I hope you had a pleasant evening, breakfast for two no three." Jueyan beaming at the possibility of further reward. Dave only gestured for the man to lead on. The three ate in contemplative silence Lilly occasionally making one cute or another, but all 3 were deep in thought. Dave paid the bill and left a rather generous pouch of silver with instructions it be shared with everyone.


    It took nearly an hour to get to the north gate the journey still uncomfortably quiet. The large amount of trade caravans coming and going left Dave confused. This city was at the end of the world as far as he knew why was there so much trade? Stopping dead "Dong sup with all this?" gesturing at the wagons, soldiers, merchants, and all the commotion at the gate.


    "the city lord is granted his position by the Emporer so even the Lee family could only interfere so far, the wilds have many ingredients pill makers need. the journey takes 2 months so the constant steam of traders and others maintain the city." Dave simply nodded.


    the well-dressed trio lined up to leave. "exit papers." The guard not paying attention simply held out a hand. Dave placed three silver coins in it and carried on. "Halt what is the meaning of this?" Dave simply glared at the man giving him a minor heart attack. "c-c-carry on." he mumbled. They received several offers to join Caraveans to which Dave passed without a second thought.


    Once the gate was out of site. Dong spoke up unprompted for the first time since their meeting. "master your affairs are your own however if we are to be of any use to you we will need to know more..." gesticulating in every direction.


    "ya sigh supposen'' you doo." Dave walked a short way off the road and pointed at a boulder "Bench!" then a stump "Chair!" Dave sat on the ''wild throne'' and indicated the stone bench. The two sat expectantly Lilly as though expecting a campfire tale and Dong imagining the secrets of the universe.


    Dave started and stopped several times. "this is hard, first there are many things I cannot explain because you simply have no frame of reference for. . . second just knowing is dangerous not just for me but you as well. do you still wanna know?" Dong thought for a few moments Lilly just bounced in place.


    "Lilly''s life is master''s, Lilly will follow master forever!" for a moment Dong looked ashamed. "She is in the right you have given us both so much how can we not follow?"


    Dave was both touched and concerned by the answers. "kay fine, lemme start with what you know, I''m not from here and I don''t mean the area or the empire I mean this world." they both shrugged and nodded. "Oh right, I don''t mean a higher or lower realm nor one of your small worlds I think you call them." now the confusion was evident. "I come from a world where buildings made of glass and steel pierce the clouds and tools work with no one holding them the knowledge of all mankind was at your fingertips..." he described a world slightly more advanced than the earth we know but earth nonetheless. "and then I died." that simple statement caught both completely off guard.


    "Master has reincarnated!" Lilly looked like she was being told a story by Super Jesus. Dong on the other hand looked like he wanted to hide, on the other side of the planet, in the deepest cave he could find, under a rock.


    "ok ok ok, calm down, that is where things get interesting" The summation of his reincarnation and ''hero summoning'' and re-reincarnation took over three hours. "Well, that''s the long and short of it, any questions?" Dong now pale and green simply dove to the side to throw up. "Lilly is shocked! Lilly wants to know, please master tell Lilly everything!"


    Dave smiled lovingly at Lilly then looked at Dong. "sup dude, look like you ain''t hav''en a good day" Dong tried his utmost to compose himself before trying to speak then diving again to vomit once more. "master, what you have described has left everything this world holds sacred moot, nothing in the empire maybe even the whole of the grate dao can touch you...Please teach me!" Dong now kowtowing to Dave. With Lilly quick to follow.


    Dave tried his hardest to parce all the information and its implications ''Intelligence'' is nothing more than the speed at which one thinks and retains information, wisdom the ability to take known variables and apply them to unrelated situations, but Dave was still not ''smart'' a relatively unquantifiable characteristic that implemented creativity as well as int. and wis. to achieve truly unique ideas. No even with int. and wis. At 9,999 Dave was still an idiot. "HUH?"


    Dave decided that the easiest thing to teach was his CQC it was Brutal and devoid of any ''art'' or ''style'' it was designed to incapacitate or kill in less than 3 blows. As they walked during the day Dave tried his best to convey his past lives and experiences while the two marched under load. At sunset, he summoned Training Dummies and instructed both in his fighting method. Lilly took to it like a chick learning to fly while Dong incorporated it into what he already knew. For a month and a half, they traveled only the odd beast and rare desperate bandit bothered them. Until.

    "hand over your valuables and we''ll let you leave" None of the trio was impressed. "Hey Lilly wanna show what you learned?" Dave sounding almost bored, began counting. "wait let Lilly start before you start timing Lilly!" in less than 30 sec. all the bandits were unconscious. 7 were dead. "master is mean! Lilly would have done better if Master had said start like in training!" her pout was so adorable Dave had little choice but to apologize. LOL "Sorry sweetness, but you gotta react to trouble without bein told too."


    Dong was stunned. Academically he understood the techniques Master Dave taught were superior in violence to anything he had ever seen, but this was ''evil'' even those that had lived would NEVER even walk right again. "Master, do you even consider the damage you are causing just by being?" panting in pure exasperation. Lilly could only smile sheepishly "Lilliy is sorry it took so long master." Dave held out his hands for a hug.


    Dong was still horrified, and could not be ''unburdened by what had been''. It was just disgusting so repulsive no sentient being could accept the world as is. Dave opened a new path, one favoring real people...All people. "worth can be measured, only when all peoples are weighed and measured and those left are well, leftover to be discarded."


    Dave cared nothing for any that refused to show their worth. Lilly stood out as nothing short of the ideal. "You show real promise, I truly wish I could teach you more of my way" Dave knowing the world would not allow the full extent of his absolute power to shine through. Yet he did teach the two would-be apprentices all he was allowed. "Lilly I want you to try to break this." Dave held out a block of diammonium. Without even a flash of thought Lilly was just happy a standard shin strike to shatter it. Dave held his pride in check. Dong had no idea what he had just witnessed, Lilly was just happy to obey.


    "ok Lilly, you just broke the hardest thing any ''normal'' person could ever break." Dave was full of pride and uncertainty. "so what am I to teach you now?" again not smart, but his hyper-intelligence and near unlimited wisdom, provided a fue extra paths for the young girl to follow.


    Lilly was true and relentless, "Lilly Loves master and will follow anywhere..." This was hard for Dave to follow, in the cents that many of the so-called ''heroes'' he had known were worthless sub-humans held up high only by the rainbow with no individual worth. Dave had no idea what to do with the now-evident prodigy. "All right Lilly there is something I know that will make you strong fast but it will hurt so it''s up to you." the technique was one Dave had used on himself it is not something one does to a child. . .


    "Lilly knows her master doesn''t hurt Lilly to be mean, so Lilly is ready, Lilly wants to be strong." it was obvious she could see Dave''s trepidation but her enthusiasm was unshaken. The sorrow filling Dave almost made him give up the line between training, torture, and abuse is only in who benefits. As the sun began to set they set up camp only the training dummy for Dong was pulled out. "ok Lilly take off your clothes." which she did without even pausing to think. He handed her a small jar similar to a sugar bole with a lid. "cover your body in this and rub it in until your skin is blue don''t miss any part."


    "it''s cold and makes Lilly all tingly can master get Lillys back?" Dave wanted nothing to do with this process but he complied and rubbed her back "Face and top of your head too" It took 5 minutes to cover her every inch and rub it in. Then it started to smoke and sizzle Lilly did her best to not scream "Sleep!" Dave knocked her out still she lay on an animal''s skin screaming and crying even while unconscious.


    Dong was equal parts fascinated and repulsed, watching her skin smoke, blister peel off, and regrow over and over again. "master what is that salve?" Dave was nearly in tears "It''s called dragon peeler, it melts dragon scales and helps the new ones harden, makes shedding easier and faster." that was the intended purpose, the off-label use made humans more solid doubling or tripling density. over the course of an hour, Lilly lost all the muscle and fat she had gained in the last 6 weeks looking more skeletal than when they met.


    Dave readied a large meal she would need a lot of food and time to recover. "Lilly doesn''t feel very good." her body would ache for days she took a moment looking over herself "Where did Lilly go, Lilly is just bones." naturally she was upset. "You''re all there just squished, harder and stronger. Eat." he moved her to the table set up for her. She was weak and shaking, as she ate she started to feel better. "Lilly is full but Lilly is still hungry too" Dave just smiled and handed her a vile of bitter green liquid. "drink this and keep eating."


    Lilly ate her fill 5 times each time drinking the potion, it made her shudder and gag a little. "master, Lilly is tired." Dave put her to bed already sound asleep before being tucked in. "master what happened to her?" Dong was somewhat concerned but mostly curious.


    "do you know how a diamond is made? heat pressure and time crushes coal into a diamond. it shrinks but it weighs the same just more dense. same thing." Dave nodded in Lilly''s direction. "to look like she did before she will need to eat 3 times as much for months. when all is said and done she''ll have the same strength as a rather large bear." Dong just shook his head resigned to the new reality.


    in the morning Lilly ate another huge meal and drank the potion again. "master what is Lilly drinking?" she managed between the gag and shudder. "Wy own brue, part regen potion part metabolizer with a small pinch of antidote so the Arked venom doesn''t kill you. now eat up." Lilly just shrugged and ate as instructed. Dong obviously wanting more information moved closer. "it accelerates weight gain like 100 times better than protein powder. She needs to pack on 80 kilos asap just to look normal again."


    "master that''s more than I weigh! how can she even gain that much weight." Dave just gave him a look of think about it for a second. Dong understood the increase in density only in the vaguest sents... it''s ongoing! "will she need to eat like so for life?" watching as Lilly began her 4th full-course meal. "Nah, after she looks healthy again upkeep is just one serving." Dong again stunned by the implications hung his head and sighed.


    "Lilly you wanna see what happened to you?" the small girl still looked skeletal Dave could touch a finger to thumb around her thigh. cocking her head and wiping her mouth she gave an affirmative "MN!" he gestured for her to stand to the side before she could take any stance Dave slashed her with a sword. Lilly was knocked back but the sword had shattered. "Master you scared Lilly, Lilly thought she died...Lilly only hurt her butt when she fell." Dave showed her the broken sword. "ya normal weapons won''t hurt you anymore but things like this will." Dave showed a blood obsidian dagger and made a small cut on her fingertip then gave it to her and ruffled her hair.


    over the last 2 weeks to the next town, Lilly had repeated the process and kept up her training now only as slim as their first meeting Dave had his ''students'' spar. Dong''s cultivation made him clearly superior but Lilly''s raw strength and resistance were astonishing anyway. they arrived and entered the smaller town with no further trouble.

    The town was little more than a pitstop as far as anyone was concerned, hotels and eateries lined the street in an otherwise dead town. the main road branched in three directions but only the north road looked used. "so what now." Dave asked no one in particular. "master I suggest we take the west road, the serene jade sect is known to offer guidance even to cultivators not of their own, east is the badlands and north is the heart of the empire." Indicating each direction as he spoke.


    "you scared to go back?" Dave looked sympathetically at Dong indicating north. Dong shook his head "No, while I have reservations you have nothing to fear from the empire aside accidentally concerning it. it''s the little one that will gain the most her roots are strong but without a path her fortune will be limited. you could use a cultivation path as well the holy maiden should at least point you toward the starting line."


    "Lilly is happy with master''s teachings, Lilly is strong now, Lilly doesn''t need a new teacher." Dave only smiled "Everyone needs a new teacher, learning all you can is the only path to greatness, sides we need to know what we don''t know that we don''t know." That left Lilly confused and took Dong a moment to sift through. Eventually cocking his head and grunting in agreement.


    "so buy lunch and head out, or what?"


    the restaurant they chose was known for large portions, not its variety, the food was good noodles, fried rice, and grilled ''meat'' that was half the menu. several of the other patrons eyed them suspiciously but just watching Lilly eat was enough to garner a lot of unwanted attention. Dave paid and tipped generously as they left "Observe!" the minimap appeared again in his peripheral vision.


    "looks like we got company." 15 red markers appeared as they left town, the group kept their distance until sunset when they surrounded the trio. "you seem the generous type so we think you should share what you got with us." the look of boredom on Dave''s face made Lilly giggle And Dong coughed trying to not to laugh and drink at the same time. "hey don''t be like that, we''ll even take good care of the girly there."


    The goons were no threat at all the only issue Dave was having was how to deal with them. given their attitude they had to die that much wasn''t in question no, only who and how..."screw it not even worth the effort." with a wave of his hand a lighting bolt bounced from one to another and back again killing them all instantly.


    "Master Lilly didn''t hear you say anything, Lilly doesn''t understand." Fair enough thought Dave, he hadn''t really explained the ins and outs of his magic only that he could use it. "I use 5 different schools of magic, ''words of will'' need me to have a clear image of what I want but needs to be expressed in only one word. That was an arcane spell it has a set effect and only needed a thought to activate, 3rd is holy magic no spell but preset effects reflecting prayer and faith, 4th is enchanting binding a soul to an item so it does something, 5th is ritual magic it can do things that flat out brake the rules of the world." Dave counting on his fingers.


    "Can Lilly learn magic?! Lilly wants to say things too." Dong was busy looting the corpses. "master do your inventory, stats and such use magic too?" Dave pulled out an arcane spellbook for Lilly to look at "No, inventory stats, perks, titles skills, and abilities are separate from magic. even in the other worlds only I could use them." Lilly couldn''t read the local language Eldar script was out of the question. "Lilly can''t read..." she was on the verge of tears.


    "sorry little one but I can''t teach you this, it has to be learned on your own, I can''t read it either you just start understanding things." that made Lilly feel a little better. Dave checked his copy of the Akashic records. "still blank." he huffed and put it away. Dong interrupted his funk setting a badge of sorts on the bench for Dave to see. "and?" the iron rectangle meant nothing to Dave, Dong on the other hand was becoming animated.


    "he was a member of the blood-burning sect, they know he''s dead and will come for us." irritation evident in Dong''s voice. "they aren''t much of a threat to us but they tend to massacre villages for just feeding their enemies the ancestor should be my equal or close enough, so we will be harassed the whole way."


    "I take it the empire will do nothing..."


    "No master, the empire can ill afford to police even small sects, the war with the kingdom, is bad enough, and if the dark sects ally the empire would fall." Dave nodded familiar with similar political quagmires.


    "candle! light the darkness with your warm glow." a small floating flame appeared above Lilly''s palm. Dave rushed to catch her as she passed out. "crap, prodigies are hard to teach." Dave could learn a new spell just by picking up a book but normal mages took months to learn their first spell. She likely had 5 mp. tops and without the ability to level up that spell may be all she could ever do. while mana worked like a mussel, use would make it grow but without enough to start...

    "master how did she do that, I felt no spiritual energy of any kind." Mana being a fundamental force like gravity or electromagnetism had nothing to do with cultivation. not that Dave knew that.     Dave looked over Dong''s stats all over 200 some sections were also blocked out the section that caught Dave''s attention was ''cultivation level 9'' just below character level 1 the one title he had was ''Path of the Spear'' everything else was the same as Lillys. "path of the spear?" Dave more commenting than asking Dong''s eyes bugged almost right out of his head. "How did you know master I''ve not said anything and was going to abandon the spear in favor of your teachings." Dave pulled a long spear from his inventory. "mastered the spear too so maybe I can help with that." the wood of the shaft was black with red grain, and the tip a greenish shimmering metal. "Its venom emerald Damascus, hard but flexible not poison but takes 3-4 times longer to heal." Dave gave a short demonstration before handing Dong the spear and snuggling up to Lilly who had refused to stop crawling in with him until he gave up and accepted it.


    Dave woke up to see Lilly reading the book once again "Hey kiddo, put this on before you try another spell." a simple amethyst on a silver chain necklace ''+150 mp.'' "Lilly is sorry, Lilly blacked out again." Dave put the necklace on her and patted her head "Cast it again and hold it till you feel light-headed I''m going back ta bed fr''n'' hour." Lilly cast the spell again with the full incantation holding her hand out straining her mind. in less than two minutes Lilly felt dizzy so stopped. controlling her breathing in meditation as she tried her best to read the unknown words.


    When Dave woke up and began to prepare a large breakfast he saw Lilly still trying to understand more "Inspect!" her base mp. had gone up 3 points. not bad for one session. had this been Lytheria or Darkweld she would be a high-level mage in short order. Dong was trying to recreate the movements from the evening prior. "time to eat you two." Dave held the plates of food out both seemed reluctant to pause their efforts but quickly accepted the direction. Lilly''s portion is still a heap 3 times the size of Dong''s with a small vile of potion on the side. Dave stored the book and showed Dong how to retract and extend the spear. Lilly''s dagger on her hip and Dong''s spear on his back Dave did not need to carry a weapon openly.


    it only took 3 days for a handful of blood-burning outer disciples to show up they took one look at Dong and thought better of it. "well that was easy...Oh please tell me it doesn''t work that way here too." Dong''s uncomfortable look said loudly yes it does.


    after another week they were confronted by a small army of mixed inner and outer disciples some holding obvious treasure weapons. "so you two wanna give it a shot or should I smoke em''?" Dong gave it some thought "It would make good training but I think a show of force would be more useful at the moment." Dave shrugged and nodded a black bow appeared in his hand one arrow nocked Dave aimed at one then raised the bow to 60ish degrees and loosed the arrow as soon as it reached its zenith a thousand arrows fell only three of the 200 were left standing wounded but alive. "lance of ice price my enemies!" Lilly chanted and one was run through with a small ice spike she staggered for a moment Dong ran the other two down instantly ending the encounter.


    "you know that spell is a bit above your weight class" Dave chided the dizzy girl trying to stay upright. "Lilly wanted to help, Lilly knows Lilly can only do so much, Lilly just wanted to make master proud."


    well what do you say to that, Dave set the girl on his shoulder and headed over to Dong "So think they''ll get the message?" a simple headshake was enough answer for Dave. sigh "they got anything nice?" Dong looked around "The dagger you gave little sister is more impressive, they have little coin and no more than standard provisions for a week." Dave waved a hand and stored everything except the corpses and tokens.


    Dave covered every corps in a white sheet lined them up in rows and began to sing a deep and mournful song Lilly and Dong both wept openly without understanding many of the words. "all we are is dust in the wind. may your gods bless and keep you."


    "Master, why mourn these deaths and not the others?" Dave shook his head "A soldier of any army is due respect no matter the flag they march under, commanders, leaders even holy men are guilty by choice but a soldier must march for how can they not?" Dave had not cared when he lived on earth but 2000 years of wars had changed his views.


    "let''s go before they send more." a month passed with no incident leaving the two adults concerned. Lilly had made tremendous strides in her training both martial and magical finally healthy-looking again. She no longer needed the necklace but she loved it as any gift her master gave her. still at level 1, she could cast tear 3 spells. her stats now all hit 100 and somehow she had a title ''First of the new path''


    Dave could only groan "I''ve got a bad feeling about this."

    "what do you mean they all just died!" an angry one-eyed man shouted at a calm sickly looking man.


    "the corpses were treated with respect brother, no need to shout at brother Yu." a busty onex-haired beauty waived a fan at the two


    "Master Jia would not allow such insult to stand, senior sister knows even showing respect to the dead is no excuse to stand against the Blood-burning sect." a chubby cherub of a man chirped.


    "Regardless we must retrieve the treasures carried by the three direct disciples and receive compensation. the question is how? Could any of you kill 200 well-armed and prepared disciples in an instant?"


    Silence filled the ornate room.

    the journey to the jade whatever had taken months and Dave had been annoyed by two goddesses nagging him for offerings, while it was nice of ''Nuwa'' to allow Dave into her world she had otherwise done nothing for him, while ''Niamh'' was the cause of his current condition. on the other hand, they were good ''people'' sigh


    "Is Master ok? Can Lilly help?" her concern had broken Dave out of his funk, he smiled back at her and shook his head. "no darlin'', just keep up your training for now." for the time being Dave had stopped teaching Lilly new magic but was having her learn silent cast.


    the jade serene sect mountain was now in view, with two days left of their journey Dave still had no idea how to cultivate while Lilly was growing by leaps and bounds, and even Dong was showing improvement as close to cap as he was.     The trio followed their guide through the outer sect past many inner sect training areas and buildings to a humble temple-like structure. An average-looking woman in white robes with gold trim greeted them at the door. "This way please." her blind eyes locked on Dave as she guided them to a table. "bring the tea." they sat in silence for a moment as the saintess looked over the other two briefly. "right almost forgot the first meeting gift, please accept this humble offering." Dave took out the mushroom in a simple pine box and placed it on the table.


    M¨¨ng y¨¢o nearly dropped the tea after seeing the gift. "you call a large ox blood mushroom humble." The saintess held up her hand to silence the young girl. Dong looked abashed as he nodded in understanding both sides of what would otherwise be an absurd situation. Lilly giggled and nodded, Dave just smiled in ignorance. ahem the moment was broken by the saintess. "we graciously accept your gift, however, I cannot guide you on your path . . . I humbly beg your forgiveness." she moved to Kowtow "Whow hol up, kinda sucks but no big can you give my girl here a once over?"


    the blind eyes still somehow convey depth, the saintess looked more like she was reading a book than looking at a person. "your disciple is truly magnificent, she has the tyrant body a Dragon soul, an ice phoenix bloodline, and has your cultivation path as well, this should not be." Dong shook his head silently "I knew master had changed her providence, but that . . ." The three knowledgeable ones just stared at Lilly. "wait hole up, I thought you couldn''t see my ''path'' thingy." A warm smile spread across the lips of the saintess having got a good measure of the man. "forgive me for not explaining, your path is ''the sage of ways'' I have no knowledge of that path nor how to cultivate it."

One he was in for a long long ride, two his status updated as information about the world became available to him, three something he did changed Lilly, four... "Master, what does Lilly do?" worry and confusion evident in her voice. Dave looked at her and it clicked ''dragon peeler'' and his ''holy frost aura'' must have counted as a trigger . . ."what is the tyrant''s body?" if his guess was right he did something there too.


    "any injury she receives will make her physically stronger and heal faster with no upper limit, your training must be harsh for one so young to have such a foundation." healing her the first time was the trigger and the salve an accelerant. [parallel mind] Dave needed to pay attention but his mind was running through more information in a second than a quantum computer could in a week...the parallel mind cast [exelerate thought] "Thank you kindly ma''am, you helped far more than you can imagine, could you tell me more about yourself and the work you do?" his voice now velvet.


    They talked from morning through lunch till near dinner time. "Lilly is sorry, Lilly is hungry again and master told Lilly she had to say." she was gently tugging on his shirt. Dave had already pulled many cultivation paths and methods from the saintess he even had a vague idea of how her sight worked. Now the stats had a ''paths'' page.     "Again I''m sorry bout that, dunno why she freaked not like my cookin'' is that off the chart." yes, in fact, it is, but the ingredients he casually tossed together were similar enough to the top-grade medical plants to give anyone that recognized even one a heart attack. "anywho let''s eat." with only a brief glance at Lilly''s triple portion before the two ladies started eating or tried to foodgasm "this, are you a chef or an alchemist, this cannot be normal food."     "so you can also make pills?" the saintess disturbed as this she had not seen in him. "I''m more practiced in potions, tinctures, salves, tonics n'' the like, but I do keep a small stock of these 3 pills." one yellow, one white, one blue lined up on the table in front of the two sect members. "oh my I do not recognize these, what do they do?" dave paused for a moment "eat first."


    After the meal, the 4 cultivators had advanced one major stage and Lilly almost 2. "so how much do you know about diseases?" he only reserved blank stares in return sigh "O.K." Dave tilted his head side to side for a few moments. "so to start outside magic disease witch IS caused by miasma most illness has one of four causes virus, fungus, bacteria or the body itself kay?" the 4 nodded not really understanding [right dumb it down to grade school] "there are bugs so small thousands can live in one drop of blood ok? They lay their eggs in the part of blood that is left over when it drys ya fallow? well, this one stops em from layn eggs, this one kills em'' and this one stops the bug-killing guards in you from actively rebelling." Lilly stared at her hands "Lilly has little guards in her?" Dave chuckled "Ya, or a sneeze could kill you, medicine is just temporary reinforcements."


    It took Dave an hour to go over all the finer details but by the end of the conversation/lecture, all 4 had what would pass as a medical doctorate in comparison to the rest of the world. "you truly are a wonder sir expert." the saintess still trying to sound friendly was so respectful it made Dave a little uncomfortable. "here I was thinkin'' we was friends ma''am." which in turn made the saintess uncomfortable "forgive me it has been a very long time since anyone has called me such."


    "if you don''t mind my asking are you blind because you can ''see more'' or can you ''see more'' because you''re blind is it even related?" the question caught her off guard for a moment she grimaced in memory. "the last thing I saw with my eyes was a flash of light after that moment I saw everything else." Dave nodded "thought so, common side effect of second sight is losing the first, got something for that if it was the other way round I''d have to make it. Here drink this" [remove status effect ''blind'']


    she blinked her eyes repeatedly as color returned to them gold, not her original dark chocolate brown but she didn''t care she could see them in the mirror, sort of, it''s hard to see anything through tears. "M¨¨ng y¨¢o, gather the elders in the sect masters meeting room, we must keep that man hear as long as we can."


    she knew in her head and heart she sounded like a villain when she said. "by any means possible!"

 Re-Isekaied...Again? Chapter 3 (part 3)

    Dave slept like the dead, he had the ability to remain awake indefinitely, he just didn''t care enough about the world around him to bother. Lilly had found her way into his bed 5 seconds after Dave fell asleep as per usual. The saintess taking her first look at the world for the first time in over 700 years knew something was off, at the moment she could no more place it than the colors not seen since childhood. Sadly this was a result of Dave''s advanced int. score working faster than what one could call a soul. This would not be the first nor last time his stats spoke for him rather than backing his decisions.


    "We must keep him here, by any means necessary." while the line of a villain, the saintess fully aware of her ''sins'' brought forth the most drastic proposal in the history of the sect. "Grant him full unrestricted access to everything from outer sect applicants to the deep master of origin''s folio." this statement was akin to demanding the U.S. government admit to the JFK assassination in writing. "are you insane!" well ya that is the normal response. Still, the 4th elder was not in any position to ask such things. "Is this man so far above us we must live on our knees?" the sect master looked ready for war even if it meant the end of all things.


    The warmth in her smile reached her golden eyes. "he is the shadow of the moon, he stands far above us all yet has no weight. If it were his will, shadow would end us all or hold us aloft upon the stars . . ." trying to both convey power and indifference akin to a god in a world without. "his mere presence shall be an immeasurable boon to the whole sect, maybe even the world." as her eyes of gold locked on every member assembled no room for question was left. "at your leave, what would you have of me?" the calming tone nearly enough to placate even the nut case 4th elder "welcome him with open arms, his mind is powerful and deep, but not sharp" Dave was hard to explain to anyone that had not met him. An idiot with a 10,000 IQ, wisdom of the ancients barely able to sus out the stupidity of communism, a toddler with the nuclear launch codes. "show him all you can and listen to all he speaks."


    For the first time in months, Dave woke up first, setting Lilly aside yet looking at her [what am I to do with you] unsure whether he loved her as daughter, lover, or pet, not as if this current world had much distinction, only the stigma of now 3 lifetimes ago held him back. "what''s wrong with me?" in a world where might make''s right Dave was always right, yet could not leave ancient beliefs behind.


    "Lilly is sorry, Master is awake before Lilly," ''SLEEP!" still not ready to deal with anything beyond superficial acknowledgment. "you still leave mystery even in free welcome." Dong greets him this morning, "I know not your faith nor will, the girl however is yours more so than the air you breathe." huff "I know."


    "so what do we open to him first?" M¨¨ng y¨¢o did not even try to think with all that had transpired in the last few hours. "take him to the GRAND library, then the pill maker''s hall." [effectively area 51 followed by Pentagon super soldier R''n''D''] The cacophony of expletives that followed summoned a true demon in a distant land unbeknownst to all. "shall we also offer our manhoods to this oh-so-amazing expert?" again the 4th elder pushing his luck. "if you hold the sect above all in your heart, yes." for the first time in 500 years the 4th elder was left speechless.


    Dave was escorted to the ''grand library'' he immediately checked his copy of [the Akashick records] "Well that''s a little better at least" {information updated, conditions not met} now shown on every page. "you aren''t gonna make this easy are you?" for a normal person the odds of a god even noticing you even in the most extreme event possible falls between 1 in a 100 million to 1 in a billion. for Dave, it was 1 in 1. "you are blessed so shall be all your disciples, is that not enough?" fuc....


    Dave asked hundreds of questions, and M¨¨ng y¨¢o had great difficulty answering even the simple ones, "Wait so you''re saying, divine Providence is only the first proposition of cultivation but not a defining characteristic in regards to the quantitative nor qualitative value of the end product?" by days end even the 4th elder understood why Dave stood so far above everyone, which he hated.     Lilly was given private tutoring by the 6th elder, ''the ice fairy'' b¨¨i y¨¨. also known for her ice-type cultivation but famed for her figure. Where she was born on ''an earth'' in modern times she would be unopposed as the world''s most beautiful woman. Lilly found meditating in an ice-filled room boring, but she was happy that for the first time in he life, she could feel the cold without worrying about dying. "Lilly wants master, Lilly doesn''t understand this!" b¨¨i y¨¨ was as cold as her element "Your master has entrusted you to me, you will learn this to please him, yes?" Lilly pouted for a moment then tried again. She spent half the day drawing in the cold it was a slow process but Lilly got the hang of traditional cultivation techniques. Around lunch time Lilly told the fairy "Lilly has to eat now, master makes Lilly eat a lot." this was odd as most cultivators stopped eating altogether outside the occasional pill or fortuitous medicinal meal. "Lilly will share, master gave Lilly lots, Lilly knows being hungry is sad."


    The two ate in the outer courtyard this meal was ''only'' worth a billion or so. "oh, by the ancestors, I see why your master feeds you so." a full meal of ''elixirs'' and monster meat worth years of meditation had brought b¨¨i y¨¨ around on the idea of ''food'' and more so on Dave as a whole. For the first time in a century, she smiled. "Child, you dare stand so boldly in the face of true inner disciples?" several of the 4th elder''s students accosted Lilly. "you dare speak so in my presence?" the ice fairy chilled the group to the core. "can Lilly fight? Master taught Lilly, Lilly wants fun!" that was not a reasonable response, fighting amongst sect members was normal enough but for an outsider, it was a good way to get hurt. Before anyone could say anything Kel ra the oldest of the deciples took a swing and found himself with a broken arm on the ground gasping for air. The others scattered in less than 1 second. "Lilly didn''t have fun, Lilly needs a challenge." that hurt Kel ra more than his beat down.


    The 4th elder confronted Dave over Lilly''s actions, while not the outcome he''d expected it was a good political move. he was desperate, in 300 years he had not produced a single master or even a sect champion he''d have been dismissed where it not for what was effectively 10year. as things stood the sect head and most of the elders disliked him deeply for his constant demand for more resources for his mediocre students. "your privileged student has injured my best, how shall you compensate?" Dave held the man at eye level with one arm his feet dangling feet off the ground.


    "I''ve known morons like you in the past, you think just doling out extra resources will raise the mediocre to above average, idiots like you make everyone resent the others the outsiders. Have you for even one second considered them as individuals? as anything more than a goddamn check box?" Dave used his ability to see others'' stats and looked over the disciples a full half had no hope of ever attaining immortality, many needed wholly different cultivation methods and all of them could benefit from simple integration. "you hold up diversity, equity, and inclusion as the end goal, without ever considering the path there nor the one beyond!" like any normal sane person Dave hated grandstanding and empty ideology. "those 3, give them to me I will show you how to raise minority from nothing, my Lilly is a flower that will bloom for all time, your best is but grass that will never hold a place in the sun because you don''t believe in merit."

    The 4th elder was fuming, not only was his core belief spat upon, but he as a person was being treated like a joke. "you dare you upstart, I am an elder you will show me respect." Zhou Chang only made ''4th elder'' because his uncle retired and left it to him. he was only at mid-level soul strengthening, Dao formation was standard for an elder. Dave found out that morning. . .


    "Listen up you goddamn nepo-baby, I''ve known looser cry-bullies like you before, you were handed everything on a silver platter and whined when others weren''t! You have never in your life actually earned anything but think that people who break their backs should hand out everything they earn! most people will never leave their hometown forget reach the foot of this mountain, how many have to till fields in a drought to simply not starve?" Dave was about to rip into him about the whole of his ignorant beliefs but Chang used the emerald sword hand to strike the side of Dave''s head.


    To Dave, it moved as fast as a slug on a salt flat. He smirked and took it like a gentle breeze. Stunned and frozen in fear all the elders and students present couldn''t believe what they had just seen. "people whose ideas have no merit nor value always resort to violence to force it on people that don''t want it." had Chang died right that moment no one would have blinked, instead Dave set him back on the ground and flicked his forehead knocking him across the square. "he''s your problem you deal with it, you three fallow me, Lilly let''s go." the group left without another word spoken by anyone.


    "Lilly go spar with Dong for an hour before dinner. "mn." As for you three, I have a gift similar to the saintess so I know you are not being trained properly." after spending the day at the library and asking everything he could think of he could see their paths were grayed out as were several dozen of Lillys and all his own, in effect not yet active.


    "Kel ra you are no warrior, you are meant to be a scholar you shall train with these" several strategy games and illustrated instructions ''Most people in the other worlds are illiterate''. "Kaelasa, good fortune is yours to give or take, luck is hard to train but start with these." giving her a handful of dice. "Ahiga you are a fighter destined to die . . . repeatedly, you have an immortal body every death shall make you stronger." this stunned the other two and terrified him. "shall I die now then?" Dave shook his head no. "gaining strength beforehand is more important, also fighting people stronger than yourself will accelerate your growth."


    Dave played a game of risk with the 3, by dinner time Kel ra had improved dramatically the other two had fun. "Can Lilly play too, Lilly likes games." Lilly was covered in bruises, which was normal but Dong had a split lip which was not. "she has improved in both technique and qi use." Lilly was at peak blood transformation nearly ready to start condensing her core, her stats now in the 700+ range. "sorry Lil after dinner you need to meditate and heal yourself, maybe some other time." nope, nope, nope. Remember how I came from other worlds? nods well if I die here I have to go to another one and now maybe you have to too." Dave had not even a basic understanding of psychology and less in dealing with trauma. It was a dumb idea but the only one he had given it would take 90 years for her to be an adult 50 for a minimum pass.  Re-Isekaied...Again? Chapter 4 (part 1)

    Lilly woke up to hear Dave arguing with ''no one''? "what do you mean you don''t know? this is your freeking world what am I supposed to do?" Lilly did not move for what felt like hours as seconds ticked by. "ARE you insane? How is it my fault? Yes, it matters!" Lilly knew about voice transmission but had no idea who her master was talking to. Lilly did not even notice that even in her mind she thought in the third person. Wait why did Lilly think that? EEEK "Why is Lilly thinking things Lilly can''t?" Dave stopped his conversation. "status!" Dave was visibly shaken by what he saw. Lilly now had skills, titles, abilities...etc. She did not before. "what the HELL main character?"


    Lilly was upset at her master looking at her the way he was. "Lilly is sorry, Lilly did something bad." Dave''s heart sank as it was not her fault but his. "Really? it''s ok master. . .wait, what?" Lilly had something Dave did not [4th wall] while she could not break it she had become aware of it. "Lilly doesn''t understand." on the verge of tears. "


    Lilly is not crying!" Dave being a veteran of world-breaking rules didn''t need the title to understand what was happening. Lilly looked hopeful waiting for her master to help.     Dave had helped Lilly turn off the 4th wall, idiot Dave just wanted to help, 10K iq Dave knew Lilly was too young for that kind of knowledge, wise Dave was deeply concerned by the implications of the [4th wall] being a thing.     "so?" Dave was pissed Lilly was now the focal point of this world, it was not jealousy, but more a protective father thing. "why are you asking us? You should not exist, everything you do is not supposed to be." well that''s helpful [main character] was a title that made every action ripple across the world, [4th wall] disturbed the goddesses because they had no idea how that worked, the fact Lilly was now an [every worlder] something that Dave should never have gained. "it''s the oath right? How do I get out of it?" the silence that followed was all the answer needed.


    Dong watched as Lilly repeatedly slapped down Ahiga, while he was 3 years older it still looked like a grown man beating a child, she was careful to not be cruel she taught after every beating. "look at Lilly''s eyes but watch Lilly''s stomach." Even Dong wondered about that insight. "Lilly can punch or kick so watch Lilly''s bellybutton, left, right, up, or down." as she spoke she demonstrated slowly. "How is that to help, you move too fast for it to matter!" Lilly shook her head. "thinking is bad, just fight! Lilly just knows that''s why Lilly is strong." the sparing continued for half an hour, Dong could only watch as the two visibly improved.

Lil, you keep playing with Ag, Dong you need time yet?" this being in reference to his tribulation before ascension to immortal. shakes head "Soon" nods "Good take Kaelasa to a gambling den and come back with 10x this" Dave handed him a high soul gem ''100m in spirit stones'' "Small bets only, she will eventually win it all." Dong''s skepticism was crushed by Dave''s certainty. "I got the pill hall tour today." Dave was genuinely curious about ''alchemy'' in this world.


    Lilly got bored teaching before noon, nothing she did nor said helped ''Ag'', an outsider could see the improvement in both . . .Lilly just wanted to move things forward. ''status'' Lilly peeked at herself as well as Ag fortunately it was a jumbled mess she did not understand. Lilly decided she wanted to learn to read, and Ag was going to teach her.


    Dong cashed in the high soul gem, for 98 in million million stone chips and many smaller denominations. "so miss. What calls to you?" the only advice Dave gave her was ''watch for probability waveform collapse.'' whatever that meant. "Dice?" seeing a man walk away from the dice floor clearly devastated. "Chance speaks only to you my words carry no weight here." Kaelasa still skeptical sat down to play. "this is a man''s game, you should be playing with your dollys." some of the other players began to mock her until Dong flared his Qi. "deepest apologies senior we meant you no offense but this is a game for adults." Dong said nothing just set down 100,000 stones worth of chips and held up a handful of the millions. The game began and the hours flew by.


    "This is the 3rd largest, pill hall in all the empire. our experts can make 4th tear pills at a high chance 5th and 6th on rare occasions." his tour guide seemed extremely proud of this, Dave, however, was confused. "if the recipe doesn''t change why does the outcome?" a common mistake for outsiders. "every ingredient is unique age, soil, altitude, and countless other conditions." Dave shook his head, the alchemy he knew was completely different. he asked to sample all the available ingredients at first he was refused but he pulled out a handful of mana grass. The guide had no idea what it was but the head pill maker wanted it anyway so samples of everything were provided. While identifying did indicate many things the ''sampler'' skill gave a full understanding of an ingredient.

    The tour continued as Dave was shown the pill furnaces and some of technics for pill-making. Now he understood the mistake, they put everything into the furnace as is, with no preprocessing. "can you guys get me a recipe to try?" having been told to be as accommodating as reasonable the guide and master were hesitant until Dave started bringing out his ''lab'' the pill master sent a disciple off somewhere. "this equipment is to make pills?" the man asked while examining a still. Dave shook his head. "no potions, elixirs, and the like but I think if I refine base ingredients you should be able to get consistent outcomes." if true this knowledge was as priceless as it was dangerous.


    Dave looked at the recipe and almost through it at the potion master''s head. "what the hell is wrong with you people ''one bulb of serpent vine, 3 slices of fire frog liver . . .'' don''t you weigh or measure anything?" fine Dave started grinding ingredients in his morter weighed and measured everything to the gram, some went into the calcinator others the still and some in a hand press. After 2 hours Dave handed the mixture to the pill master. "heat it lower and slower than normal." the man just nodded and did as told. The pill fragrance alone affected everyone''s cultivation all around him people stopped what they were doing and began meditating. 7 perfect 5th tear foundation pills formed.


    The pill master handed Dave a jade bottle with the 7 pills in it. "please senior teach me, I beg." Dave had no intention of staying any longer than necessary, as soon as he figured out how to cultivate he''d grab Lilly and run. It was dangerous for them to stay with the saintess being able to see the multiple ''paths'' more so if more open up. It isn''t that Dave disliked the saintess but did not want to throw the world off balance. The same applied to the pills he decided on a compromise. "lemme go over all your recipes, and I''ll rewrite them like this one you can figger it out from there." there was only a moment of discomfort before the pill master led him into the archives.


    By dinner time Dave had edited 240+ pill recipes and was mentally drained his tour guide had never seen a person actually say ''trudge'' while walking. trudge"trudge"trudge"trudge". Dave was not in a bad mood but was actively using his superbrain trying to figure out how to cultivate and why he was unable to do it. The principle was simple, draw in the energy of the world and hold it in your body. (sure, and next, I''ll hold my breath indefinitely by turning CO2 back into O2) as Dave thought that he realized he probably could . . . getting off track, his base stats were an obvious problem being immune to all ''elements'', near invulnerable, and stats all in the 10k range. The scholar was off the table for now as was: fortune of heaven and earth, tyrant body, dragon bloodline {he had it before arriving} any skill-based ''path'' sword/spear, etc. "so how?"


    Kel ra had taken over teaching Lilly to read, but the other two were helpful and supportive, this broke Dave out of his funk. "So I see you have all been successful in your endeavors, but what prompted this lesson?" Lilly knew she wasn''t allowed to say anything about stats in front of anyone. "Lilly wanted to learn to read, Lilly feels dumb because everyone else can and Lilly can''t." while admirable and desirable in the long run now is not a good time. "Lil you want to be a scholar like Kel?" she shook her head "No, Lilly just wants to be able to read enough to...not feel dumb." she was smart, smarter than Dave to a truly massive amount, she had called up her stats and gestured in such a way that looked like an ''in general'' to everyone but Dave. "I see, well I will teach you to read later for now you should focus on cultivating the things here, O.K.?"


    As dinner was prepared Dong handed Dave the soul gem and a very special jade token. "the gambling hall could not honor your winnings master, this is bound to a ledger backed by the sect." (it''s a bank card) "Tomorrow, go buy everything you think is even slightly interesting we don''t know how long were staying." Dong bowed in a respectful yet discreet way. "apologies great elder, what is to become of us when you leave?" as tempting as it was taking students at this juncture was not in his plans {world balance} but it was tempting. "don''t you guys want to stay here, its home ain''t it?" the three looked at each other and laughed. "most of the fourth elders'' students were sent hear to get rid of us and we are never allowed to forget it." that stood to reason a cult leader can only maintain control in so long as he stands as the ''only'' one that wants them. "damn commie bastards same everywhere. . ."


    That night Dave talked with Lilly and the goddesses about taking new disciples, Lilly was a little jealous but accepting and the goddess. "Don''t worry so much about the balance for now, you need to learn cultivation they may help." that''s a problem, to cultivate you have to gain enlightenment ergo learn something new or surpass your limits in some way how was Dave to do that? He would think on it in the following days while learning the basics of formations, artifact crafting, and the handful of other skills found in the sect. Although he learned many things it boiled down to learning basic math in another language and then explaining calculus in return. The saintess arrived shortly after dinner on the last day of Dave''s tour. "we cannot ever repay you for your contribution to our sect, please accept this before you go." it was a ''guest elder'' token effectively an oath of friendship and guaranteeing the backing of the sect. "how did you know?" she pointed at her eyes. right

    Dave felt a little sheepish, he hid the truth from her because it was dangerous to everyone not for himself. "I''m sorry I tried to hide so much. . ." she placed a finger on his lips.


    "as soon as you gave me back my eyes I saw far more than I could have imagined, you and your, um, Lilly, do not belong here. we offer so little. only a starting point." though she looked as if she was about to beg forgiveness.


    "K, hun I get it, you''re smart, I''m dumb, no hards on it. you wanna give me some go''s stead of stops?" the vernacular was almost as confusing as the implications, it took a moment for her to understand.


    "Well, I guess you could try the oldest form of cultivation shortcuts . . . it would be near suicidal for most but you might gain a little maybe enough to start."


    Dong was very close to the breakthrough and tribulation the saintess had directed him to a rich spirit valley for him to meditate in Dave was accompanying him.


    "let me get this straight, you get hit by lightning for a few days and I what? sit close enough to get sparked on?" Dong just shrugged and nodded. "it would kill most but you, master would lightning even sting?" [no he won''t even notice] The look on his face said as much.


    "you want a ring? resist all elements is on 20ish of my lesser rings." that would defeat the purpose of going through the tribulation.


    Dave had left a lot of nice things for his family, the things he kept ranged from junk not worth leaving and things too dangerous to leave for anyone. the ''lesser rings'' were from the first world while junk there, they were too dangerous for the second.


    the moment they arrived at the valley Dave felt it, the air was rich with something he hadn''t even noticed before. not Mana, not anything familiar but similar the best comparison would be exiting a hospital during a sunshower.


    "this, is this what I''m supposed to be drinking in?" to dong the air was closer to a hailstorm in its pressure.


    "that explains your troubles, master, this is a place of power and you only now notice the energies we cultivate" Shaking his head in defeat Dave was just that far outside the norm.


    they found their way to a loadstone platform with room for 3 cars, it was smooth cold, and metallic but reflected no light. Dong gestured for Dave to sit and meditate a body length away as he did. the clouds began to form thunder and lightning filled the sky.


    Lilly had wanted to go with her master but she was not yet strong enough, dave had told her to listen to the saintess and answer her questions honestly. the saintess and Lilly were having a really nice spa day manny/petty''s hair treatment and getting Lilly''s ears pierced Dave had given her red gem studs [dragon bloodstone]


    "Lilly looks so pretty, Lilly hopes Master likes it. Lilly wants her master to look at her more" For most children this would be a simple crush, but this was a near obsession.


    "he holds you in his heart little one far more than a master should, I am uncertain he will be able to push you hard enough to grow strong." the saintess recalled the cold distant master she had.


    Lilly told her about the salve that had peeled her skin, the pain when Dave dislocated her shoulder and taught her to put it back on her own, punching and kicking a post till she was bruised and blood. Dave had to teach his children to survive in a world filled with demons and monsters so he knew how to push without being cruel.


    "master told Lilly the most important thing is to answer the why. the only difference between abuse, torture, and extreme training is why. Abuse is weak and cowardly wanting to feel strong, torture is to break a person and extreme training is to chip away weakness." as she spoke everyone in the spa stared as she quoted Dave.

    The king was shaken the 6 primal beings stood so far above him he was an ant to their kaiju. the one that is, is the lands seas, and skies of all the multiverses the other is his shadow the devourer of life the source of all ills. the 4 kept it imprisoned as best they could but the one that is and the other are mindless forces as far above them as they were to the nameless one.


    "Nuwa something is drawing most of it to your cultivation world . . ." the two goddesses looked at each other "Dave." "Thankfully the rest is headed for the nameless one under his shattered sky." everyone shuddered at the mention.


    Dave and Dong returned exhausted but elated Dave was now a level 2 foundation and the fact that it added a X1.2 to all his stats explained how the world worked far better than any book could. Dong is now a level 1 loose immortal.


    "Lilly is happy master is back, Lilly worked hard." over the last 5 days she had cultivated 3 minor realms something that should take decades. "the nice ladys helped Lilly learn lots."


    "welcome back expert I see you have been successful in your efforts." her smile was filled with warmth.


    Dave could feel the difference, now able to nearly see the energies without his other skills. with the door now open to cultivation it was time to leave. the saintess gave him a look of understanding, even a month is a long time for a cloud to stay in one place.


    "Lilly do you want to stay here and learn, I don''t know where I''m going and it would make me happy knowing you''re safe." to his surprise she took a few moments to think about it.


    "Lilly knows master wants what''s best for Lilly, but Lilly wants to stay with her master always." she looked far more mature than she sounded her hair in a high ponytail the subtle makeup even her posture mimicking the adults she''d spent the week with. Dave was doing his best to not laugh at the juxtaposition it was cute but hilarious.


    "aight, so any which way we should go?" directly to the saintess.


    her face became grim. "you should go where you should not . . . find the heart of the wastelands." the center of the continent was a dead aired land without even the small lizards and insects common in a dessert. it has been said the wasteland eats life itself.


    "you mean the big brown blotch in the middle of the map? with miles and miles of nothing? you mean that wasteland?" Dave was a little incredulous, he understood she saw things he could not . . . but that made no cents.


    "something is there something you and Lilly need . . . I don''t know what but you must go."


    "Lilly thinks staying here is a good idea now, Lilly knows everything dies in the desert." Lilly was being semi-facetious everyone knew she''d peal the skin off anyone that stood between her and her master.


    Dave was tempted to make a desert deserter joke but his translation skill can''t fix puns. But it was a known fact that the desert did kill everything within days. "why don''t we get one of those flying boats or something?" asking Dong while making a ''we have the cash'' gesture.


    Had Dave grown another head and turned purple he would have gotten less strange looks. "expert those are only myths and legends from the upper worlds perhaps you should fly on swords instead." now the saintess cracking wise.


    Dave was about to say it would only take him a week to make an ''airship'' but he could not speak. "stop! stinky humy, there is a reason they can''t fly Please keep it that way!"


    Dave could feel himself doing the lemme interject, no never mind meme...he almost broke out laughing at the thought. "well I guess we need to get ready for a long walk." the following week was more akin to a holiday with friends than living in enemy territory, his caution about ''forbidden knowledge'' was lax around the saintess. "oh, ya the creator god well in your case goddess just makes the rules and then is hands-off, otherwise Darkweld would have been a lot nicer, damn invasion."


    At that moment Dave felt a shudder down his spine, ''DANGER!'' well fuck this new world is being invaded. . .altho he knew nothing about the gods beyond those of the worlds or more recently the two creator gods, the shadow of evil he had spent 2000 years trying to destroy was now here.


    "it''s time to go. we have work to do." Dave was colder than b¨¨i y¨¨ could even push herself to be. Dave added the saintess to his friend list and placed a mage mark on the ground in the foyer.


    "I''LL BE BACK." the fact he said it with intent made him pause and almost laugh.

    they were only a stone''s throw away fro m the base of the mountain "Master you look rather upset, has something happened?" the simple fact Dave wasn''t smiling was enough to worry Dong and Lilly.


    "I hope not but somthins got my hackles up and I need to find out." he stopped dead in his tracks, Lilly walked into him like a wall and fell back and Dong nearly tripped over his own feet keeping up with the movement.


    *HUFF* "I got nothin''. somethings off but donno what. you guys remember what I told you about evil?" a nonsequitur but Dave was thinking faster than his mouth. his ''Hi-brain'' outpacing his normal one almost as if his Int. stat was no more than a search engine he had access to rather than part of him.


    "MN!, Master said there is no evil." he gave Lilly a look that every parent knows how to do when being misquoted. "oh, Master said there is no such thing as an evil act only evil people."


    "right, people can be evil and do good things, and good people can do bad things like I said it always comes down to why." he paused and looked sad for a moment. "but that''s not as true as people would like to think, there is evil in everybody and everything..."


    They sat down as Dave told them the creation myth of Darkweld. when he got to the part about miasma ''he knew the rest was fact'' "the gods did not know evil existed but there it sat in a pool and all that touched it was forever changed demons and monsters now roamed free."


    "Lilly doesn''t understand, if evil is a pool why are people evil?" Dave was almost in tears his eldest son drank from a miasma pool for power.


    "they, the gods didn''t know evil was always part of everything, ''sand and stars, water and wind, sun and shadow.''" part of the prayer of death''s blessing. "some people just have more than others."


    "Master, do you fear the heart of the desert is one of these pools?" Dong now felt nearly panicked.


    Dave hesitated a moment. "no, a pool breeds monsters, not ever-expanding sand. no this is maybe something related." Dave had not yet relaxed.

    even at a forced march, it would still take 4 months to reach the edge even with a wagon the timeline wouldn''t change much. then there was the desert that nobody really knew the full size of the last estimate was 25,000 miles across. there are no reports about the center.


    "hear me oh spirits of the wind bestow upon us your boon, send your favored children, and grant us a swift journey." 3 horse-sized winged white wolves stored down from the clouds. "Lil, don''t try that spell it takes 5x the mana than you have and if the spirits don''t like you it can take more." "MN"


    they landed silently and sniffed the air the smallest one went straight to Lilly with no hesitation sniffed her more closely and sneezed. after shaking its head in that doglike way it pinned her to the ground by laying on top of her and licking her face. "I think he likes you." *giggle*


    "you just summoned the sacred beasts from the theocracy... .I, I, HOW!" Dong was despondent, he was born and raised there and still had some faith in the goddess that ruled. even now knowing she was just from the higher realms. the largest of the wolves looked his way with obvious sympathy.


    "no harm bud, just making friends not like I''m gonna bind ''em or nothin'' just asking for a ride." Dave missed the point but assuaged his fears in one way worse in another. Dong just sighed and shook his head. Dave just smiled ever brighter and scratched the big one behind the ear. "who''s the goodist holy beast."


    after a few moments, they took flight toward the wasteland. Lilly''s joyful squeal could be heard over the howling wolves and wind. "hi-ho silver away!"

 Re-Isekaied...Again? Chapter 4 (part 4)

    The journey took only a week rather than the months it should have, though nothing much changed in their daily routine. Dong noticed Dave''s unease. "Master, you seem rushed. The desert has been around since the beginning, why hurry now?"


    Dave shook his head. "It''s not the desert in particular; something isn''t right about it, but the rush is ascending ASAP." He once again brushed the hairs down on the back of his neck.


    The journey consisted of more of the same training lectures and one fun discussion on comparative religion in worlds where gods directly interact with the people and worlds that can legitimately question their existence. Both Dong and Lilly were saddened when Dave told them the Earthrelm multiverse creator god had moved on to another project and left his homeworld on autopilot.


    "Nah, Earth don''t actually need a god . . . well didn''t, seems like after I died things got weird, but before that no monsters no magic no nothing but science, Dude just wrote fundamental laws and buggard off." he shrugged with a smirk on his face. the thought that that reality would upset believers and non-believers alike seemed to tickle him in a twisted way.


    "Master if your home was abandoned why show such deference to the gods? more so here where she chooses not to interfere?" While not abandoned no prayers would ever be answered so a valid question. Dong and nearly all people of this land practiced ancestor worship, again sensible when they can on occasion show up to help people ascend.


    Dave bobs his head from side to side "I get where yer comin'' from, but this''z my 4th world and it ain''t gonna be my last so''s manners maketh man as they say." while he had no love for the gods they had given him advantages for each new world. The (RPG) interface stats/inventory, the (All tongue) and carryover (keeping everything from the last world), (Sage of ways) the ability to utilize any and all abilities of a world.


    "Lilly thinks that if the goddess of the world wants everyone to be strong, then being weak is a sin, right master?" the blunt assessment of the world came from a place of someone who was once weak.


    "Well yer not wrong, but yer missin'' the bigger picture." Dave stood and took the look around you pose. "the more important factor is how di ya use that strength, a strong man can climb a mountain, and a stronger man can help others reach the top too."


    Both companions sat silently for a moment the campfire light dancing across the contemplative faces. "then do you help us because you see it as the duty of the strong?" Dong''s words looked like a slap to Lilly''s face. Before she could say anything Dave let out a deep belly laugh.


    "Na, I do what I feel is right, not what I think is the right thing to do, the difference bein'' again ''The why''. trying to be good in hopes of reward don''t make you a good person helping cuz it makes you feel good to see smiles that makes you good." he gave them a moment to digest that tidbit before continuing. "Two ways to measure good bein'' intent and outcome, well les'' you know every outcome only wantin'' to help matters."

    "Lilly is confused master, You also said the road to hell is paved with good intentions, so which is right?" unknowingly facing the atomic bomb of ethics philosophy with the same problem everyone must face. how much does intent matter when weighed against outcome?


    Dave could only shake his head, "I donno'' Lil, nobody does. think things through, minimize harm, and just do your best." knowing some people with good intentions are also stupid enough to pass as evil.


    In the morning, they flew to the edge of the desert, but the wolves stopped mid-air and began growling and barking. "well ain''t that just ducky, looks like it''s not a direct flight."


    the set down several paces away from the edge of the desert. Dave made a shh motion and waved everyone back. Lilly almost started laughing and Dong was utterly baffled as Dave seemed to be seeking up on a desert. Dave tossed a chunk of unidentified meat into the sand while making sure not to set foot on it.


    a few moments after the chunks hit the ground Dave let out a breath and then sat on the ground, and just watched the sand. Lilly and Dong sat to either side of him. "master?" Dong mouthed the question.


    Dave was looking at a stopwatch and back at the meat. he stopped it at exactly 15 minutes "Well that answers 2 questions. It is neither death sand nor a living land beast." he then took a handful of sand sprinkling it into the other, feeling its complete lack of coarseness he raised an eyebrow.


    the ''sand'' was all tiny perfect spheres finer than sugar but not as fine as flour. "so this is not a natural thing either, a couple more tests guys hang tight." he then took a two-handed scoop of sand and placed it around a near by sapling. "EXELERATE!" the sapling grew from one foot to three in under a minute. the sand did nothing.


    "curiouser and curiouser, the sand is not spreading." now kneeling at the edge scooping out a hole and feeling the soil forming a solid smooth wall then moving 10 paces to one side and repeating the process another 5 times. "gimme a hand with this." handing both large buckets. "dump it out aways."


    While Dave''s actions made sense to him on one level ''the real Dave'' was more confused than his companions, he had already determined that the desert was bowl-shaped why the digging? Numbers, letters, and equations flooded his mind. STOP he thought to himself, his higher mind simplified... a sphere, and if it continues growing at its current rate in 12,000 years the world will start to crumble as the bottom falls out.


    ''WTF'' "How the hell does a whole fuckin'' world die!?, specially with a life drain spell? " this is the moment Dave should have understood what Lilly truly was... "dose it matter master we shall all ascend soon, the lives of mortals should be of no concern." Dong''s matter-of-fact tone did give Dave pause, having outlived family and friends on two worlds he understood rationally that short lives next to immortals... "All lives matter, living forever does not mean being indifferent, cold, or cruel to mortals."


    "It sounds like you have experience master, how is it so?" both students looked eager for the answer. "I was immortal Before I came here, before I was summoned as a hero. I died of shade poisoning in Darkweld, not old age." The title Master of Lytheria was no a small thing he had to attain Lvl 100 in all skills including the ones responsible for health and healing effectively making him ageless.


    Dave pulled out what looked like a cross between a motorhome and a tank. "we''ll ride in this I don''t wanna spend much time on the sand." the sand itself was not overly dangerous aside from being uniformly spherical, however, it did conduct the life draining spell. the two were too stunned to utter a word.

 Re-Isekaied...Again? Chapter 5 (part 1)

    the journey was Dull, boring, mind-numbing, Oh dear GODS! even at top speed, Dave was going insane with the time it took, (around the world in 80 days) was slow by comparison. His personal speed was dangerous to the world around him. . . the 1000 or so things he could do all either had major repercussions or flat-out spat in the face of the goddess. (not a good idea even a good idea even when a man stood as an equal)


    on the journey Dave had Dong learn to drive,l while he took extra care to train Lilly, NO Masochist nor pessimist would even attempt such training. While understanding that nearly ALL cultivation was effectively obelisk''s Dave decided to create a foundation akin to a country.


    Dong had neared the maximum of cultivation without ascending, however, Dave understood that aside from the speed of ascension the base mattered far more. so he taught Dong all he could while avoiding the ''all paths'' effect Lilly and he were subject too.


    "K, Lilly M''love time to push yer base in a new direction, if yer up to it." Dave and Lilly both had a difficult time defining their relationship... Dave still held neo-American jedayo-Christian ideologies, while Lilly, had NO! concept of ''historical'' right and wrong. . .


    "Lilly is ready Master, Lilly will do her best, Please teach Lilly everything." Even while being fed (mild) poisons, Lilly ever more sought comfort in Dave''s bed. the simple fact that modern sensibilities had no place in a medieval world.


    "LIL, please try to understand, just because you CAN does not mean you should." When the idea of right and wrong is put to the test, it inevitably fails. ''Murder'' is by definition ''wrong'' however ''killing'' someone is entirely circumstantial. WTF!! how can anyone describe ''is/not'' when it all varies so wildly?


    "Lilly saw Master kill lots, so why does Master think loving Lilly is wrong?" she liked ''dule cultivation'' not because it sped up cultivation but she lacked other ways to express her feelings for Dave, he understood that so tried to let her down easy. "I don''t lie, cheat, or steal, because those are usually wrong killing in defense of yourself or others is fine..." he was about to say he didn''t go looking for trouble but the Lees'' would disagree.


    "Lilly loves master, and he loves her so how is it wrong!" she was almost in tears at this point. "Reasons and circumstances, as I said before." he was really starting to wish he knew something about child psychology or any at this point. her being a child and the same size as one leg were reason enough for Dave her past would make him hesitate even if not. "you might not feel it now but your heart is still hurt, cuddles are good but more is crossing a line."


    Lilly ran to the bathroom and slammed the door. "master a word if you will?" Dong from the driver''s seat. "your objections to her are not wrong, but they are not right either. showing her that love can be kind, generous, and gentile while dining her more is just as hurtful."


    "In my home world, it is considered wrong to lay with a child regardless of circumstance." Dong looked at him in that way as to say you know that''s a lie. "O.K. not everywhere nor always but I was raised that way." in truth, it wasn''t till the 1970''s it was even a question in the more civilized parts of the world. The 2020s in Japan which is how he came by that factoid.


    "It''s not just that and you and she know it!" Dave was near rage at the idea of the torment Lilly had gone through. "Master, your trepidation is misplaced, SHE wants it not only as an emotional crutch. . some children do...reach that point . . . young."     "WHY are you speaking up NOW!" Dave, not happy with this particular ''revelation'' at this moment many gods and goddesses had come to weigh in on this particular discussion. Dong smirked having become accustomed to divine revelation and Dave not liking the answers.

Dong had no idea why Dave objected so fiercely Lilly was indeed an ideal lover ''for her age'' Dave could only sigh and enter a meditative state activating EVERY mental accelerant skill he had.


    after 6 days, Dave opened his eyes and looked at an upset Lilly. "look, Lil, I get it, I gave it more thought than anything in my life . . . I Do love you enough to overcome my stupid preconceived notions, but you still need to heal your heart O.K.?" he then gave her a DEEP-loving kiss. "I promise when your heart is healed I will show you real love. . . O.K.?"


    "Lilly understands, Master, does love Lilly and wants her to get better, but Lilly is um... Lilly is ... gets ... "hypersexual children were so far out of Dave''s wheelhouse that he didn''t even register the intent. Dong only a few hundred years old understood. "show her some adult affection even if it is only dual cultivation...she needs it." the implication nearly broke Dave''s heart but he understood.


    The fact that Dave''s ''member'' was almost as big as Lilly''s forearm was a major concern to him. ALL duel cultivation techniques did require some degree of penetration. "Lil, I don''t know how. . .for someone so well smol." Lilly looked at him as almost the first time "Master, I, I''m sorry, you were trying to protect Lilly." Dave had a hard time not laughing at that reaction. "Lil, this is only a small part of my objections." Her eyes bulged at that comment.


    "Master, Lilly is sorry, Lilly is too small for Master," Dave scooped her up in a hug. "Lil it was Never a size nor even an age thing, You matter far more, immortality means not worrying about waiting O.K." Lilly was trembling and it didn''t matter the reason, he held her tighter.


    "Master, please . . . Lilly loves your touch, please let Lilly feel more of you." a 9ish-year-old girl with a teenage boys sex drive is terrifying to a modern man. to make matters worse dule cultivation may actually be necessary for them to ascend. Dave did know the accommodation spell, but had no intention of sharing that tidbit. "I can do something for you, eat this and go lay down."


    The dream bog vine had a toxin that causes a pleasant hyperesthesia, creatures caught in it did not resist, and well. . . there are reasons people paid 100s of gold for a small piece. Lilly was moaning in minutes Dave grabbed a father. in only moments Dave left the bedroom to soft snoring sounds.


    "Master, what do you plan on doing long term? even if you put it off till last you said you need minimum levels in all cultivation techniques." Dave could only sigh and nod his head. "ya, ya I know, still we have time for now. other things first, till something changes I don''t want to cross that line."


    "master why the rush to ascend, you and little sister will outlive me, even if we do nothing." Dong was right [methusala] alone made a person age at 1/10 speed even a beginner at cultivation doubled their lifespan. . . Dave''s titles, skills, abilities, and perks left him ageless.


    "this." Dave had put on a silver gauntlet bathed in light. on his palm was a vile containing a black liquid. it reflected no light and even ate the light ni the room. "this is liquid evil. One drop can ruin a world. I gotta gut feelin'' it''s out there."


    the journey was a dull straight line, and even the sand dunes were largely flat, even at top speed the tank/house would take 6 months to reach the center half due to the top speed being 100 k/h the rest being the sand being the sand being like ballbearings sliding under it. Dong now understood the rush, was beginning to question the mode of transportation.

    Watching a child who had never had a coloring book get frustrated over being unable to make a portrait was as sad as amusing. "Lil, most people take a long time to learn a lot of the things you do easily, so don''t worry about perfection, just work to get better."


    Having heard himself say it out loud, Dave had his first non-divine ''revelation.'' Sure, he maxed out his stats and skills, but he couldn''t point his fingers and shoot a sword of willpower.


    "It''s not even about attaining perfection, it''s all about TRYING to improve!" As Dave began to radiate the light, Lilly began to meditate, and Dong, saddened, had to close the driver''s cabin.


    All of Dave''s relevant skills and abilities triggered the relevant cultivation paths, which in turn gave him bonuses to those skills and his overall stats.


    By the time Dave''s comprehension had finished shining, the trio was only a week away from the center... temple?


    They were a week away, but still, it was visible, towering in the distance, a mishmash of dozens of structures more at home in Lovecraft than in this world. A bad AI render of multiple ''earthlike'' monuments Tower of Piza, the Eiffel Tower, Machu Picchu, and Aztec pyramids, just to name a few.


    "Well, that''s cursed," Dave stated like it was the most obvious thing ever. Lilly and Dong had no frame of reference for the building, but still felt an eerie feeling. "Lilly never even imagined something like this existed."


    Most likely, the single most disturbing thing about the mountainous building was its total lack of a shadow. Upon their arrival, they found no stairs, only a vertical cliff face lacking the normal features that would make handholds.


    Dave did consider flying up to take a look, but a nagging feeling in the back of his head rejected that option. They drove around it for days, never once seeing any sign of a way up. "We''re gonna hav''ta get out and look closer." The second they set foot on the sand, nausea welled up in all of them, but it hit Dave the hardest.


    ''Status'' Dave looked at all three of them. While he did have the largest health pool and fastest regeneration, he was losing 20 health per second, while Lilly was losing 5, and Dong only 2. No status ailments showed. "Kay, ''W.T.F.'' why you two not tossen yer cookies?"


    Dong and Lilly looked at one another for a moment. "Truly master, I must apologise, but whaighed by cultivation alone you are... .insignificant even now." Over the last two years, Dong had learned a few things as absolute as far as their master was concerned.


    #1 Under absolutely no circumstances should one draw his ire.


    #2 While a kindhearted man, His moral code was his alone.


    #3 his morals were effectively random... to the world


    #4 being ''His'' was more valuable than one''s cultivation...


    #5 The'' Gods'' of this world should live in fear of his wrath...as random as it was.


    Dong''s fear was muted, but Lilly was like flairs in the dark. "Lilly will show Master the way. The ''wall says the world is a lie." How Lilly understood anything the mountain had carved upon it was anyone''s guess; the fact that only an illusion hid the way to the pavilion should have been cause for concern.


    Dave sadly gave it no thought as the three passed through what was only moments ago, an illusion leading to a stairway. It took two days to reach the base of the temple proper. Hundreds of carved runes and symbols covered every surface. As soon as they entered the main arch, the life drain effect stopped.

    "This place is huge. How does no one know about it?" Even Dave was awestruck, it was a city-sized structure surpassing anything he had ever seen across 4 worlds. It would take days to walk the perimeter, years to map it, and a lifetime to fully explore it.


    Dave pointed to the giant twisted tower at the center. "The answers will be in there." His companions could only look around, dumbstruck, while following wordlessly.


    At the base of the ziggurat, one could not see the top of the mangled tower; the obelisks, on the other hand, at this range were not obelisks but rather Roman columns topped with onion domes.


    "Lilly doesn''t like this place, it feels... wrong somehow." In truth, it was an architectural abomination not even the talentless modernists would make something so hideous.


    "Lil, I think everything here serves a purpose, not to look pretty." Dave was disturbed not only by the hodgepodge design but the familiarity of each piece.


    "This place has to be ''bout'' 170 million years old, but look ''round'' nothin''s fallin apart." Dave examining the ornate wall carvings.


    "Why do you say so, master?" Dong, not understanding much, but looking at the same set of runes.


    "The edges of the markings, the state of the buildings, everything looks new." The edges of the markings were still sharp, even devoid of weather damage; time itself should cause any manmade structure some wear and tear.


    Dong only shrugged as nothing about this situation was within his expertise. Dave lingered for a moment before the trio continued up the stairs. At the first major landing, when they paused for lunch, Dave asked Dong to investigate one of the columns.


    Even at his top speed, Dong returned after dinner as Lilly was doing her reading studies. "Master, I think you should examine them yourself. They have no carvings, and I can''t even guess as to what they are made of."


    "That''s cool, maybe after we check the ''awful tower of Piz''." Dave had dubbed it such because of the metal struts and lattice patterns covering the cylinder tower.


    Dong was about to question whether he needed to examine it if Dave seemed to have predicted the outcome. "needed to be sure, som''n ain''t right." Dave did not even look up from the weird contraption he was assembling.


    It was a quadcopter drone, though he was failing spectacularly. As hyper-intelligent as Dave was, he had no idea how a computer worked. He managed some parts using magic, formations, talismans, and a soul gem.


    "With any luck, this can make a 3D model of the whole mountain."  Dave''s lack of confidence was apparent to Dong. "I wish you good fortune, master; however, I must ask why?"


    All the buildings do indeed look like they belong in a holy land, but something seemed off about them; they all looked from the outside like a normal dwelling or shop, inside, they were empty of even load-bearing walls.


    As it would take days at a minimum to scan the whole place, Dave led them up to the central tower. "Well, this doesn''t look ominous at all," the entrance, a circle that could fit a cargo ship with huge double doors depicting the 4 sacred beasts.


    It was neither locked nor hard to open; in fact, a strong breeze could open it all the way, if there were any breeze to speak of.


    The interior was empty, 8 pillars surrounded by a spiral staircase all reaching the top of the structure, and a bowl-shaped altar in the center.


    "Master, Lilly feels weird." They all were; the air in the building felt more like a liquid due to all the Qi flooding the room. The flow of Qi could not be assimilated as it was constantly pulled to the altar.


    "Master, this place will not help with cultivation; it may even result in deviation, however, I already feel my meridians expanding." Dong started using the breathing technique that the three had settled on.


    "Lil, sit in the bowl with me." Dave took a lotus position in the center. Lilly did the same on his lap. Every breath was labored, akin to heavy exercise, yet so rich each breath was almost a meal. In less than 15 minutes, Dave was feeling halfway between drunk and poisoned. Lilly and Dong had passed out. He grabbed them both and left the temple at top speed, passing out just outside the door.


    Dave woke up to a buzzing sound. The drone had returned, awaiting further orders. "Display" a holographic image of the whole temple materialized. Dave examined the image from every angle, the planing showed nothing in particular until he looked at it from the bottom.


    The buildings were arranged in an upside-down Array, with the obvious intent of draining life from the world while acting like the foundational pillar. That is when it all clicked and Dave began to laugh miniacly waking the other two.


    "Master, something seems to have happened. Would you please enlighten us?" Dong was concerned that Dave had gone mad from Qi deviation.


    In an intentionally off-key and obnoxious voice, Dave began to sing.


    "It''s a small world after all..."
