《Substitute Wife: Madam Is The Real Bigshot!》 Chapter 1 Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation ¡°Who sent you here? How dare you sleep on my bed?¡± Guan Tong felt like someone was strangling her, and she couldn¡¯t breathe. It was almost like she was drowning. As Guan Tong was struggling, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her body that made her jolt. She wiped the sweat off her forehead as she woke up. Fortunately, it was only a dream but what she felt was so real, and it was as if the dream had happened. Guan Tong felt almost like she was not dreaming. She saw the dim lights in that bar last week and the mysterious man in her dream. ¡°Guan Tong! Guan Tong! Open the door!¡± Suddenly, she heard a man¡¯s voice coming from the other side of the door. The earth-shattering sound banging on the wooden door showed a sense of urgency and impatience. Guan Tong clutched her head, sat up, and walked to the door. She wasn¡¯t sure if the bad dream made her feel this uncomfortable. As Guan Tong opened the door, a short man stood before her. As the man saw Guan Tong¡¯s face, he gave her a weird look. The girl in front of him was tall with long and dark hair, her face was beautiful, and her skin was fair and flawless. Guan Tong¡¯s eyes were bright and naive, resembling an innocent kitten. Under her delicate nose were small cherry-like lips, but the girl¡¯s face was indeed terrifying upon a closer look. Scars covered Guan Tong¡¯s face, and no one would be able to imagine how she got them. Her scars were so hideous and sickening that they made people who walked past her felt uncomfortable. ¡°Guan Tong, your aunt is here. Hurry up and come out, don¡¯t just dawdle there.¡± The man said in disgust. Guan Tong was familiar with the tone in the man¡¯s voice. She lived in a slum area where everyone only cared for material things. Guan Tong was neither rich nor beautiful, so she became a target for people to laugh at or make fun of, and it happened more than often. Guan Tong looked over and saw a black Mercedes parked there, contrasting the surrounding neighborhood. Guan Tong saw Zhang Lin, her aunt, sitting in the Mercedes through the rolled-down window. She saw that Zhang Lin held up her chin, and a pair of sunglasses covered her eyes. Guan Tong could almost see the contempt that hid under her sunglasses. As they faced each other, Zhang Lin let out a small chuckle. Guan Tong had only grown so little ever since they last saw each other. Her face was still so abhorrent. ¡°Guan Tong, I¡¯m only here to let you know that your cousin Fei¡¯er has agreed upon an arranged marriage.¡± Zhang Lin spoke to Guan Tong with arrogance as if talking to Guan Tong would taint her somehow, making Guan Tong frown. She did not interact much with her aunt¡¯s family, and she was sure that Zhang Lin wouldn¡¯t just come all this way to inform this big news out of her goodwill. ¡°Why are you telling me this?¡± Guan Tong asked. ¡°Why am I telling you this? It¡¯s because I want you to get married instead of Fei¡¯er.¡± Zhang Lin answered. Guan Tong¡¯s eyes widened. She almost couldn¡¯t believe what her aunt was saying. There must be some kind of misunderstanding. ¡°Are you not satisfied with her betrothed, and you want me to marry him instead? And on what ground would it obligate me to fulfill your bidding?¡± ¡°On what ground? Guan Tong, how long did we school you and pay for your expenses? If we weren¡¯t around, you would have starved to death. Besides, with that helpless grandmother of yours, don¡¯t tell me you paid for her care all by yourself?¡± Zhang Lin sneered. This girl was trying to push her beyond her limits. Guan Tong ground her teeth in anger. What Zhang Lin said was utterly shameless. Guan Tong had been working and studying hard for many years, and she had never taken a single penny out of the Lin family¡¯s pocket. ¡°Guan Tong, you should know your place and your limitations. With that wretched appearance of yours, this marriage would be your best opportunity.¡± Zhang Lin added. ¡°If this marriage was that desirable, why don¡¯t you let your daughter marry him instead?¡± Guan Tong sneered. She knew very well that if Lin Fei¡¯s match were a good one, Zhang Lin wouldn¡¯t have come all this way to give up a perfect marriage for her daughter. Zhang Lin immediately widened her eyes as Guan Tong retaliated, ¡°If you don¡¯t marry him, I¡¯ll ask the Board of Directors to kick that old woman you call grandmother out of the hospital. You will just wait for her corpse to arrive then.¡± She threatened Guan Tong. Guan Tong¡¯s body was trembling with anger. Her grandmother had always cared for her since she was a child. She struggled through a lot just to take care of Guan Tong. Over a decade ago, when Guan Tong¡¯s father had passed away, her father¡¯s company was overtaken by her uncle¡¯s family. He did not care about her grandmother. Guan Tong worked hard, but after so many years, she used up her savings after her tuition fees, and she couldn¡¯t afford to provide her grandmother with good medical treatment. As Guan Tong thought of this, she clenched her fist and made up her mind. She had to do what was best to provide for her grandmother. ¡°Okay, I promise you, but on one condition, The Lin family must pay for my grandmother¡¯s medical expenses and make sure she¡¯ll receive the best treatment.¡± Guan Tong proposed. ¡°Done, but only if you immediately come with me.¡± Zhang Lin¡¯s eyes flashed. She knew what Guan Tong¡¯s weakness was. Guan Tong looked at Zhang Lin expressionlessly and slowly got into the car. Zhang Lin covered Guan Tong¡¯s eyes immediately as she stepped into the car. Although she tried to resist, Zhang Lin made her obliged by threatening her grandmother. Guan Tong estimated that the vehicle had traveled for more than an hour. A whirring sound ensued. Guan Tong could not help but uncover her eyes with her hand. ¡°Why are we at the airport?¡± ¡°Just be obedient and go wherever I take you. Stop asking questions.¡± Zhang Lin raised her head and said proudly. ¡°How can I trust that you¡¯ll keep your promise if I¡¯m not in the Capital?¡± Guan Tong felt uneasy. It seemed to her that she was no longer in the Capital. Guan Tong had learned her lesson to not be too trusting after knowing Zhang Lin for many years. ¡°Don¡¯t worry about that. I¡¯ll shoot a video for you every once in a while and let your grandmother tell you herself that she¡¯s fine.¡± Zhang Lin reaffirmed. Guan Tong was worried, but she had no choice but to agree to Zhang Lin¡¯s proposal to her delight. Guan Tong finally understood why Zhang Lin wanted to marry her instead of Lin Fei. The reason was that Lin Fei was supposed to marry into the Lu family, and her husband was the Young Master who was in a comatose state. Rumors had it that the Young Master of the Lu family was paralyzed. The family couldn¡¯t cure him, so they devised a plan. They found a sorcerer who told them to find a woman that could match the eight characteristics and was born in the month of Yin. However, the woman must voluntarily agree to the marriage, but there was a rumor that the Young Master Lu was a bad omen and the cause of the death of his past four wives. They died on their wedding night, and Guan Tong was now the fifth wife. The original betrothed that was to be engaged to him was Lin Fei. She was born the same day and year as Guan Tong, but the Lin family couldn¡¯t possibly marry their beloved daughter to someone in a comatose state. Hence the Lin family had turned their eyes to Guan Tong instead. Guan Tong couldn¡¯t help but shiver when she realized this. She did not want to die. But Zhang Lin was a woman of her word and kept her promise that she would take care of Guan Tong¡¯s grandmother. Guan Tong sneered when she knew that her phone would be kept from her. She will only hear the news of her grandmother from the servants of the Lu family. Guan Tong raised her eyes and looked around the room she was in. Everything around her was in red, and it certainly looked like a bridal chamber. She even saw the word ¡°Joy¡± pasted on the window. It was supposed to be a joyous environment, yet Guan Tong felt gloomy and cold. The dim candlelight shone on her face, making her look even more terrifying. Guan Tong was in the bridal chamber for a while, and the servants served her meals¡ª she was not allowed to leave the room.. Chapter 2 Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation Guan Tong was driven to the Lin Family home in Zhang Lin¡¯s car. Not even a day has passed, and she was already being tied up on a plane on her way to her betrothed¡ª it was because Zhang Lin was afraid that Guan Tong would escape. It had been a month since she arrived on this island, and she had been staying in this room every day. However, she didn¡¯t even get a glimpse of the Young Master of the Lu family¡¯s shadow. Thud! Suddenly, there was the sound of a door being unlocked. It was like thunder in the vacuum, which frightened Guan Tong. Guan Tong looked through the crack of the door and saw a group of people walking in. All of them were well-trained bodyguards, and they came in carrying a man. Guan Tong covered her mouth. It looked like the nightmare that she had heard about was coming. The bodyguards walked closer, and Guan Tong quickly sat back down. These people carefully placed the man on the wedding bed expressionlessly, even after seeing Guan Tong¡¯s appearance. At that moment, an older man followed them into the room. Guan Tong had seen him a few times and knew that he was the butler here, Uncle Tang. ¡°Madam, the Young Master has been brought to you.¡± The butler quietly said. Guan Tong nodded to him with a bitter smile. It was the first time anyone had called her Madam. ¡°Madam and the Young Master should rest early.¡± Uncle Tang gave Guan Tong a meaningful glance and left with the bodyguards. Guan Tong was stunned for a while. Then, she looked at the man on the bed and saw an extraordinarily handsome face. Guan Tong did not expect the Young Master of the Lu family to be this handsome. He was even more attractive than other famous men that she had seen before. The man had his eyes closed, and his eyebrows were straight. However, his face was ashen. Perhaps it was because he had been ill for a long time and had not seen the light of day. His lips were pale and tightly shut. The man looked almost like a vampire that lived off by sucking the blood out of a human being. The man was the Young Master of the Lu family¡ª Lu Han. Guan Tong burst out laughing. At this time, her head was still wrapped in her nonsensical thoughts. She was attracted by this man¡¯s handsome face and could not help but touch him. However, when she thought of the rumor that the man was bad luck and his past wives suspiciously died, her outstretched hand dropped down. ¡®He¡¯s good-looking. It¡¯s a shame that he is in a comatose state and brought bad luck to his wives too.¡¯ Guan Tong thought, and she assumed that infatuated Lin Fei would probably go crazy when she saw such a handsome man if she were to marry him. Guan Tong was a little afraid, but her strong will stopped her from fear. She has to think of a way to not die from the bad luck brought by the Young Master of the Lu family. Moreover, since she was already married, her duty was to take care of her husband. ¡°Don¡¯t worry. I will try my best not to get cursed to death. I will try my best to take care of you. After all, you are just like my grandmother. She¡¯s also sick.¡± Guan Tong sighed. She thought of her grandmother, and she missed her quite a bit because she had not seen her grandmother for a month. ¡°I don¡¯t know how my grandmother is doing. I don¡¯t know if Zhang Lin has fulfilled her promise. I hope my grandmother will get better soon.¡± The bridal chamber had quietened down after Guan Tong stopped talking to herself. Guan Tong could smell a strong herbal smell in the air. Lu Han probably had been bathed in herb mixture every day, but she sensed something odd. Guan Tong didn¡¯t have time to think before she felt a slight noise from the door lock outside. Guan Tong quivered, but she assumed that the servants of the Lu family would not be doing anything this suspicious at this time. Even if they did, they wouldn¡¯t dare come into the newlyweds¡¯ bridal chamber. Guan Tong¡¯s expression turned cold. It seemed that there was something strange going on within the Lu family. Just as Guan Tong was thinking, she suddenly felt the peculiar odor she had experienced previously. The smoke of nauseous gas had risen again. As Guan Tong covered her mouth and nose, she quickly ran to hide, and she realized that her husband was still on their wedding bed! Guan Tong thought about it for quite a while. Logically speaking, it shouldn¡¯t be a big problem for the unconscious man to breathe in the nauseous gas. Guan Tong had been here for more than a month, and nothing like this had happened to her. This made her suspect that the people who had let out the gaseous smoke were definitely after Young Master Lu that had just arrived. As the saying goes, a righteous person would not leave anyone behind. Guan Tong resigned herself from fate and dragged Lu Han off the bed. He was heavy. ¡®If I manage to rescue this man from danger this time, I hope he¡¯ll give himself to me. He looks so handsome. Hmm, I guess not. Handsome men always lead to danger.¡¯ Guan Tong¡¯s attention was focused on the door. She did not realize that the corner of the man¡¯s lips was smiling. Just as Guan Tong hid and Lu Han securely, a knife suddenly flew over from the door and landed near her feet. Guan Tong felt her goosebumps. ¡®What sort of magical knife would be able to locate them, or that mysterious person intended to kill them?¡¯ Before Guan Tong could let out a scream, she felt a slightly cold hand covering her mouth. Guan Tong¡¯s eyes widened, and she didn¡¯t recall anyone else in the room apart from her and her husband in a comatose state. Guan Tong lowered her sight and saw a handsome young face. He was striking, like someone who walked out of a painting. Guan Tong was already familiar with her husband¡¯s magnificent facial features, but it was the first time she saw him open his eyes! He must¡¯ve become a revenant! Guan Tong felt the shock, and this feeling was far beyond the limits that her mind could perceive. The man in the comatose state was now actually opening his eyes. ¡°Don¡¯t make a sound if you want to live.¡± Not only could Lu Han open his eyes, but he was also speaking to her. Could it be that the Taoist priest¡¯s prayers worked? Was it because he had given Lu Han his blessings, and now he has woken up? Guan Tong noticed that Lu Han¡¯s eyes were magnetic. They were utterly bright blue as if they were trying to hypnotize her. Lu Han was also stunned by the beauty of Guan Tong¡¯s eyes. He just saw that they were also beautiful and also familiar, just like the eyes of the woman from that night. However, they didn¡¯t resemble each other since the scar on Guan Tong¡¯s face made it hard for him to make out her actual facial features. ¡°What are you doing?¡± Guan Tong bit his hand, and Lu Han immediately felt the sharp pain. He had no other choice but to let go of her. Guan Tong had learned her lesson from her previous encounter, and she knew that she couldn¡¯t make any noise now to avoid being discovered. As the smoke around her was dispersing, she only used her eyes to stare down at him. Lu Han, however, found it quite funny as Guan Tong was looking at him as if she was accusing him that this was his fault. ¡°What should we do now?¡± Guan Tong was sure that this person was coming for Lu Han. ¡°Now, we just wait for death to come.¡± Lu Han said with a smile. Guan Tong¡¯s eyes widened in disbelief. Wait for death? She did not want to die yet. Lu Han found her reaction interesting, her eyes filled with surprise but with no panic. However, the woman¡¯s gaze was too similar to Guan Tong¡¯s. He felt as if he had been brought back to that night. ¡°Let¡¯s find a way out.¡± Guan Tong thought of a brilliant idea. She felt that she should be able to escape with the man in front of her. ¡°What a stupid idea! Do you think you can escape from the Lu family?¡± Lu Han looked at her as if she was a fool. ¡°Then why don¡¯t you call for help from your subordinates?¡± Guan Tong thought that a family like the Lu family would have plenty of servants at their service. ¡°It¡¯s useless. This is the famous Secret Weapon Master of our own family. You can¡¯t escape.¡± Lu Han broke Guan Tong¡¯s hope of survival. ¡°The Lu family wants to kill you!?¡± Guan Tong was in shock.. Chapter 3 Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation ¡°Your own family wants to kill you? Why? Who did you offend?¡± Guan Tong asked. ¡°Do you need to offend someone for them to want you dead?¡± Lu Han answered. Guan Tong thought about it and agreed. All families had their secrets. ¡°Don¡¯t worry about it.¡± Lu Han didn¡¯t seem to be worried at all. Guan Tong heard that there was no longer any movement outside. ¡°Why is it all quiet out there?¡± Guan Tong pushed further. ¡°Get up. There¡¯s no more danger out there.¡± Lu Han said. Guan Tong was thoroughly confused by her husband¡¯s words. ¡°Young Master, are you okay?¡± Uncle Tang¡¯s voice came from outside. ¡°Young Master? Why don¡¯t you ask someone who can talk?¡± Guan Tong was displeased. ¡°I¡¯m alright. You may go down now.¡± She heard Lu Han¡¯s cold voice. ¡°Uncle Tang knows that I have cured you?¡± Guan Tong was confused. ¡°Whether I¡¯m cured or not, you should get up first.¡± Guan Tong only noticed the figure of the two men as she heard Lu Han¡¯s words. As she was directly above him and Lu Han had looked up, he could finally see her. Guan Tong quickly stood up with her face that was flushing bright red. The initially neat bridal chamber had become messy. However, as Lu Han rolled up from the ground, he didn¡¯t show any signs of regret. Instead, his face showed a trace of flirtiness. ¡°You¡you¡¯re not injured, right?¡± Guan Tong scratched her head and tried to find something to say to brush away her shyness. ¡°Of course not. I¡¯m still waiting to consummate our marriage.¡± Lu Han pleasantly replied. When Guan Tong heard this, she almost jumped up like a cat whose tail had been stepped on. ¡®Did he not hear what he was saying to me? Or was he awake from the very beginning?¡¯ Guan Tong was dumbfounded by what happened. ¡°So you were up a long time ago?¡± She asked. Lu Han did not say a word when he heard this. Instead, the corners of his mouth curled up. ¡°I¡¯m only injured.¡± Guan Tong was stunned when she heard this. Was Lu Han injured? Why didn¡¯t she know? ¡°Where are your injuries?¡± Guan Tong did not see anything wrong with him until then. ¡°Tomorrow, just pretend that I got injured.¡± He said. ¡ ¡°Alright.¡± She had no choice but to lower her head. ¡°So your name is Lin Fei?¡± Lu Han asked. This man knew the name of his new bride. Was he a clairvoyant? Guan Tong couldn¡¯t answer Lu Han¡¯s question because if she revealed her identity that she was not Lin Fei, her grandmother would probably suffer the consequence. ¡°Why did you want to marry me?¡± Lu Han asked further for more information. Guan Tong was a little speechless. It was hard for her to say that she was forced into this arrangement. ¡°Oh, I heard that the Young Master of the Lu family is handsome and elegant. He is charming and intelligent, and everyone loves him.¡± Guan Tong quickly shushed herself and wondered why she would mutter these words. Guan Tong felt she had slipped up. Lu Han stared at Guan Tong with only half a smile. He thought that the girl was clueless and naive. She wasn¡¯t good-looking, but she had an attractive personality. ¡°Oh, so you fell in love with me?¡± Lu Han playfully questioned the embarrassed Guan Tong. ¡®What was wrong with this arrogant man? What did he mean by falling in love with him?¡¯ Guan Tong wasn¡¯t sure what Lu Han was trying to get out of her. ¡°Then why would you go to such lengths to protect me?¡± Lu Han jokingly added. Did he want to die? If something would happen to him, Guan Tong might get the chance to walk out of the Lu family alive. Lu Han showed some interest in the woman in front of him. Although she seemed to be flustered in such a critical moment, she was cautious in her actions. The woman even found a way to drag him out of bed. No matter how he saw it, he knew in his mind that she was not one of those clueless daughters from the boudoir. ¡°We¡ we got married¡¡± Guan Tong answered Lu Han. Her words implied her duty to take care and not abandon him when times are hard. But these words had other meanings to Lu Han¡¯s understanding. He wasn¡¯t sure whether Guan Tong had other motives. As he grew up, Lu Han had learned not to trust anyone blindly. ¡°You¡¯re so handsome. How could I not fall for you?¡± Guan Tong decided to play the role of a fool. ¡°But if you abuse me¡ I¡¯ll tell others about you.¡± Guan Tong frantically threatened her husband. ¡°Alright, tell them about what?¡± Lu Han wanted to see how this girl in front of him would threaten him further. ¡°I¡¯ll tell everyone that you¡you have erectile dysfunction!¡± Guan Tong said to Lu Han, and he was surprised. He was amused by these two words¡ª erectile dysfunction. ¡°Where did you hear that I have erectile dysfunction? How about we give it a try to see if it¡¯s true?¡± Lu Han said as he was walking towards Guan Tong. ¡®Wait, maybe he didn¡¯t have erectile dysfunction?¡¯ Guan Tong was perplexed by Lu Han¡¯s suggestion. ¡°No¡ I don¡¯t doubt it. I¡¯m talking about the fact that you pretended to be in a comatose state.¡± Guan Tong quickly changed the topic. No wonder she had thought that the smell of the Chinese medicine was strange. Now that she thought about it carefully, the Chinese medicine she smelled earlier clearly calmed nerves and dulled the physical senses. So Guan Tong concluded that Lu Han was pretending that he was paralyzed and forced himself into a comatose state all along. ¡°How did you know?¡± Lu Han asked as Guan Tong paused. The news that Lu Han was no longer in his comatose state would probably blow up. As the saying went, ¡°The more you know, the sooner you¡¯ll die.¡± Guan Tong also felt uneasiness from her newfound knowledge. ¡°You even know my name, and you don¡¯t look like someone who just woken up from a comatose state.¡± Guan Tong voiced her suspicion. Lu Han, however, found her wariness to be funny. The girl was indeed quite smart. ¡°Mm, you¡¯re right. But I want you to keep it a secret. What do you suggest we do then?¡± Malicious intent flashed through Lu Han¡¯s eyes. ¡°I¡ I¡¯ll keep it a secret for you.¡± Guan Tong did not doubt that the man in front of her had an intention to kill her so she relented. Lu Han was very suspicious of Guan Tong¡¯s words. Guan Tong regurgitated. ¡°If you kill me, you¡¯ll have to marry a sixth wife and kill another one. You¡¯d be murdering more innocent people. You¡¯ll reincarnate as a little pig in your next life.¡± Guan Tong¡¯s voice became lower as she spoke. However, Lu Han, who had good hearing since he was a kid, heard every word the girl mumbled. Lu Han smiled. It was not a problem to keep this girl around. Instead, he found it quite interesting to tease her here and there. If that no longer pleases him, he¡¯ll kill her later.. Chapter 4 Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation There was finally hope for Guan Tong. She felt that she might make it out alive after all. ¡°I¡¯m saying this for your good.¡± Guan Tong said fearfully. But Lu Han knew in his heart that he wouldn¡¯t kill her because of the pair of familiar eyes. ¡°I¡¯m injured. Do you know what to do tomorrow?¡± Lu Han asked to ensure that Guan Tong knew how she would act tomorrow. ¡°I know, I know.¡± Guan Tong nodded quickly. Wasn¡¯t he just faking being injured? She had read quite a few President texts. ¡°Now, you can undress me and give me a bath.¡± Lu Han said lightly. ¡°Okay¡What!?¡± Guan Tong stood up. She thought she would deal with the Lu family tomorrow, but she did not expect bathing Lu Han would be a part of it. ¡°I¡¯m injured, and I¡¯m your husband? Shouldn¡¯t you bathe me?¡± ¡°But you¡¡± Guan Tong was about to retort when Lu Han¡¯s sharp eyes struck her. She had to lower her head under the eaves and comfort herself secretly. ¡°Alright, then.¡± Guan Tong squeezed out these two words between her teeth. This bridal chamber was barely usable. How would the precious body of the Young Master of the Lu family endure it? Hence, they decided to move to a new room instead. Guan Tong heaved a sigh of relief. The new room was minimalistic, and it was no longer bright red. Guan Tong had just finished sizing up when she saw that the man had taken off his clothes in front of her. Guan Tong gulped. Lu Han¡¯s body was almost too perfect, and it was better than the ones on male celebrities or actors that she had seen before. ¡°What? Why are you stunned?¡± Lu Han remarked. Guan Tong came back to her senses. She realized that the other party was mocking her, and she did not want to show him that she had any weaknesses. ¡°You have a good physique.¡± Guan Tong replied nonchalantly. After her words, she had come to regret it, for that the Young Master might have felt annoyed and decided to end her life. ¡°You¡¯re lucky to be able to see me without my clothes on.¡± Lu Han looked at Guan Tong with a faint smile. ¡®What? The Young Master of the Lu family must be kidding.¡¯ Guan Tong thought to herself. The bathing process was torturous for Guan Tong. She still had to endure the risk of a nosebleed and was still worried that this Young Master of the Lu family would kill her if she did something that displeased him. ¡°Alright, you can get up now.¡± Guan Tong said after she endured this torturous process. Lu Han¡¯s closed eyes finally opened, and Guan Tong felt a wave of detest. ¡°Tonight, we¡¯ll sleep together in this room.¡± With a splash, Lu Han stood up from the water. ¡®Don¡¯t look at him when he¡¯s naked. Don¡¯t look at him when he¡¯s naked.¡¯ Guan Tong quickly covered her eyes as he thought to herself. She could still see his fine physique through the gap between her fingers. ¡°I¡¯ll sleep on the bed, and you sleep on the ground.¡± Lu Han said. Guan Tong wanted to do this anyway since she wanted to avoid physical contact with him. It was late at night, and Guan Tong was lying on the ground. Fortunately, Lu Han was civil enough and asked Uncle Tang to give her a cushion. However, Guan Tong could not fall asleep no matter how hard she tried. She had kept all her clothes on even though she usually slept naked at her old house. ¡°You sound like a bug. What are you doing?¡± Lu Han finally could not listen to Guan Tong¡¯s rustling anymore and opened his eyes. ¡°Nothing.¡± Guan Tong replied. ¡°If you¡¯re feeling uncomfortable, just take off your clothes.¡± Lu Han was already exhausted, and the girl¡¯s rustling sound on the floor made it harder for him to fall asleep. Guan Tong¡¯s face instantly turned red. Fortunately, it was pitch black, and no one could see her. ¡°No¡nothing, it¡¯s quite comfortable.¡± Guan Tong didn¡¯t want to take off her clothes in front of Lu Han and decided to lay in her bed quietly until Lu Han had fallen asleep. Then she quickly took off her clothes in bed and planned to wake up earlier than he would the following day so she could put on her clothes before he woke up to see her. Guan Tong repeatedly thought about what had happened over the past month. She knew that she had entered a tiger¡¯s den, but there was nothing she could do to change things. Lu Han had not let down his guard either. Now, she was sure that he was most likely probing her. Eventually, her identity wouldn¡¯t be a secret anymore. She had to think of the next step quickly. Just because Lu Han did not kill her today did not mean that he would not try to kill her tomorrow even if he was in a good mood. Lu Han opened his eyes, but his breathing remained at its pace. He was not asleep and just wanted to see what the girl would do next after sleeping. In Lu Han¡¯s mind, Guan Tong¡¯s identity raised his suspicion, and he wanted to investigate her background and find out who the girl indeed was. As Lu Han was thinking, he saw that the girl was quite beautiful. It was only her scars that dulled her beauty. He wondered what could¡¯ve been the relationship between Guan Tong and that woman he saw and why they looked so similar? The next day, Guan Tong woke up in a daze at three in the morning. This was not her room that she was familiar with. It took her a moment to finally realize that she was married to Lu Han. Guan Tong turned her head and saw no one on the bed. However, she heard the sound of water coming from the bathroom. Guan Tong was annoyed, as she intended to get up before Lu Han. She realized that he was taking a shower, and she quickly stood up and put on her clothes. Finally, there was no longer a need for her to wear a traditional wedding dress. As beautiful as the dress was, it was massive and inconvenient.. Chapter 5 Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation Lu Han came out of the bathroom when he saw the scene. He saw Guan Tong in front of him and had her back facing him. Her smooth fair skin and black hair that flowed like a river made her look even more beautiful with a graceful body. Any man would lust after Guan Tong if they were to see her like this. However, Lu Han¡¯s eyes were piercing. As he saw her from behind, it was more apparent how much Guan Tong resembled that woman. Guan Tong heard the noise behind her. ¡®Oh no! Did Lu Han come out already?¡¯ She thought. ¡°Hey, you! Why did you come in just like that?¡± Guan Tong turned her head and quickly grabbed her clothes to cover herself. Lu Han¡¯s eyes dimmed. Guan Tong was not the woman that he saw. ¡°This is my room, and I can¡¯t just come back in when I want?¡± Lu Han sarcastically asked as he walked toward Guan Tong. ¡°Don¡¯t you dare come any closer!¡± Guan Tong retreated. Lu Han¡¯s lips curled into a smile as he glanced at Guan Tong without blinking an eye. Guan Tong heaved a sigh of relief. Then, she suddenly realized that Lu Han was looking down on her and teasing her. ¡°Are we going to visit our elders next?¡± Guan Tong asked as she quickly put on her clothes. ¡°Let¡¯s go eat first.¡± Lu Han raised his eyebrows and replied. This girl had carefully thought of a way to evade him. ¡°Oh, alright.¡± Guan Tong replied. ¡°Uncle Tang!¡± Lu Han called out his butler as he looked up and down Guan Tong¡¯s clothes and wondered where she got those tattered garments. Guan Tong lowered her head and looked at herself as she questioned what was wrong with her clothes. She washed them a few days ago, and they were clean. ¡°Young Master.¡± Uncle Tang walked in and was surprised to see Guan Tong standing there. ¡°Madam.¡± Uncle Tang greeted politely. Guan Tong understood why Uncle Tang was so surprised. The four brides who had married in the past died on their first day. However, Guan Tong was standing there, alive and well. ¡°Get a new set of clothes for Madam.¡± Lu Han ordered his butler. Uncle Tang was shocked when he heard this. The bride would not be around for half a day in the past. Not only was this girl alive, but she had also stayed with the Young Master for a whole night. Could it be that this girl had something special about her? ¡°Yes, it was my negligence. Please don¡¯t take offense, Madam.¡± Uncle Tang apologized. ¡°It¡¯s fine.¡± Guan Tong felt that her clothes were already good enough, but if Lu Han wanted to change, then it was his choice. Not long after, Uncle Tang brought over an elaborate dress. Guan Tong¡¯s eyes lit up. All women liked beautiful things, and she was no exception. She saw that the dress was gorgeous. It was an azure-colored dress with embroidered patterns and one exquisite little chunk of diamond that hung from its side. ¡°Try it on.¡± Lu Han did not know why but he had a hunch that Guan Tong would look great in the dress that Uncle Tang had brought over. As Lu Han expected, Guan Tong changed and came out in that dress. It was more than enough for anyone who would see her gasp in admiration. The azure color on the dress had made Guan Tong¡¯s skin bright and glow, except for her face that was now looking like a blood-sucking succubus. ¡°Let¡¯s go then.¡± Lu Han said calmly and walked out. Guan Tong wasn¡¯t afraid that Lu Han was cold toward her. She was more scared if he were to be as passionate as fire. Uncle Tang was surprised. Usually, the Young Master would not talk to anyone. Uncle Tang could not help but look at Guan Tong a few more times. It seemed that this girl indeed had something special about her. This was the first time Guan Tong walked out of the room in more than a month. She felt that she came out a stronger person, spent all those time cooped up inside a room, and had remained her sanity. Guan Tong already knew that this place was beautiful, as she saw from outside the window in her chamber before. She recalled seeing an island with a growing patch of lavender close to it. The blue and the purple color echoed each other, which gave the illusion that the place was settled somewhere in heaven. However, as Guan Tong walked out and saw more, she realized that what she saw through the window was only the tip of the iceberg. There were hundreds of miles of lavender. The scene was utterly breathtaking to her. As Guan Tong followed Lu Han to another castle, a row of security guards operated the castle¡¯s gate. ¡°Young Master. Madam.¡± Guan Tong took a deep breath. She had to get used to people calling her this way. ¡°Wait here.¡± Lu Han ordered. ¡°Oh.¡± Guan Tong was arranged to sit at the dining table. She couldn¡¯t help but sigh at the luxury of being a wealthy capitalist. Even the meals that she was having were incredibly decadent. Uncle Tang followed Lu Han to another room. ¡°Have you found out what I asked you to investigate?¡± Lu Han asked. ¡°Yes. Madam, she¡¯s Lin Fei¡¯s cousin. Her name is Guan Tong. The Lin family appears to be very cautious, but the people I sent still managed to find out.¡± Uncle Tang replied confidently. Lu Han¡¯s expression turned cold. Although it wasn¡¯t his interest to get married, the Lin family dared lie to him. Perhaps they got bored of being alive. ¡°What else?¡± Lu Han was most concerned about another matter. ¡°I haven¡¯t found out about that yet, but I will do my best to dig deeper.¡± Uncle Tang said. ¡°Trying is not enough. I want a definite answer.¡± Lu Han¡¯s eyes turned cold. The woman that night made Lu Han absent-minded. He wanted to find out who she was, the woman who made him lose control of himself. As he thought of this, Lu Han¡¯s gaze gradually became gentle. ¡°Yes, I understand your concern and would do my best to investigate.¡± Uncle Tang reassured Lu Han regarding the ongoing investigation on Guan Tong. ¡°Alright, you may leave.¡± Lu Han quietly dismissed Uncle Tang. Uncle Tang heaved a sigh of relief and quickly ordered the servants to prepare food. Lu Han came in and walked to Guan Tong¡¯s side, but she did not notice him. No one knew what he was thinking. Lu Han stared down Guan Tong¡¯s neck that was as graceful as a swan¡¯s neck, for a moment. Why were these two women so similar? For a moment, he fell into a state of confusion.. Chapter 6 Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation ¡°What are you daydreaming about? This isn¡¯t the same vigilance I sensed last night.¡± Lu Han sat down and said to Guan Tong casually. ¡°Nothing.¡± Guan Tong answered. She worried that Lu Han might have suspected her of something. ¡°What do you think about the Lin family marrying you into my family?¡± Lu Han took the wet towel from the servant and asked. Guan Tong¡¯s heart was alarmed. She knew that Lu Han would find out sooner or later, but she didn¡¯t expect it to be this soon. However, according to Lu Han¡¯s temperament, the Lu family would¡¯ve gotten rid of the Lin family for lying to him by now, yet he remained so calm. ¡°The Lu family paid a large sum of money for the betrothal.¡± Guan Tong wanted to test the other party. ¡°Oh?¡± Uncle Tang didn¡¯t mention the betrothal payment at all. However, for Guan Tong to marry on the behalf of her cousin, Lu Han assumed that it was because of the benefits that she had received from the Lin family. Lu Han sneered. It seemed to him that this woman would worship money no matter how kind she looked. Meanwhile, Guan Tong didn¡¯t know that the man in front of her had already given her the title of a ¡°Gold-digger.¡± However, Lu Han was also willing to keep Guan Tong by his side. Firstly, it was because he found this girl quite interesting. Secondly, if he held her by his side, no one else would be able to arrange him for another marriage. This would just save him the trouble of going through this all over again. Guan Tong realized that he was like a noble Young Master when Lu Han didn¡¯t speak. He wasn¡¯t as frightening and obnoxious anymore. After the couple had finished their meal, Guan Tong heard Uncle Tang¡¯s voice, ¡°Young Master and Madam, the people of the Lu family, have called over Madam over to pay them respects.¡± When Uncle Tang saw that Lu Han had kept Guan Tong by his side, his tone was also respectful to her. Guan Tong knew that this would happen sooner or later, but after seeing Lu Han¡¯s attitude, she was afraid that he might not be on good terms with the rest of the members of the Lu family. As expected, Lu Han said, ¡°Pay them respects? What is this nonsense? Ask the members of the Lu family to come over instead.¡± Uncle Tang was not surprised when he heard Lu Han¡¯s words. ¡°Madam, do you still need to change your clothes?¡± Uncle Tang asked Guan Tong. ¡°No need. This is fine.¡± Lu Han replied to Uncle Tang instead. ¡®Was Lu Han complimenting my clothes?¡¯ Guan Tong thought to herself. As Uncle Tang walked out, there was still some time before the Lu family came over, so he said to Lu Han, ¡°Perhaps, you should go to bed and lie down.¡± ¡°Why?¡± Lu Han raised his eyebrows as he questioned his butler for the suggestion. ¡°Aren¡¯t you supposed to be injured? Besides, the people from your family don¡¯t know that you have woken up from your comatose state.¡± Guan Tong was upset. She felt that the man in front of her would not tolerate spies in his house. ¡°Alright then.¡± Lu Han agreed as he realized how wise the girl was. Guan Tong was angry as she heard Lu Han¡¯s reluctance. Who would she be doing this for? If not him, then it was for her own life? As Guan Tong was just laying Lu Han down, she heard someone come in from the outside. The person was an old lady with a head full of silver hair. It seemed that this old lady loved the qipao dress as the qipao she was wearing was made of the highest-quality material. One could tell that she was a beauty in her youth at a glance. There was also a woman following after her. This woman saw Guan Tong standing in front of the bed at a glance, and her eyes revealed the surprise. The old lady was sizing up Guan Tong up and down. She knew of the servant girl from the Lin family but had no idea what the girl looked like. The old lady also had witnessed all kinds of storms when she married into the Lu family. She found the servant girl, Guan Tong, to be a little ugly but noticed Guan Tong¡¯s bright eyes. In addition to that, this girl also lived through her wedding night. Hence, the old lady was looking at Guan Tong with high regard. ¡°Are you Lin Fei?¡± The old lady walked in closer and asked Guan Tong with kind eyes. She naturally wouldn¡¯t expect Guan Tong to be a substitute wife for the arranged marriage. ¡°Yes, Grandmother.¡± Guan Tong knew that there was an Old Madam in the Lu family. Guan Tong instinctively knew that the woman in front of her must be the one. ¡°She just turned twenty-one this year.¡± The accompanying woman said to the Old Madam. ¡°Yes, Grandmother.¡± Guan Tong was not surprised as she knew that the Lu family had already investigated ¡°Lin Fei¡¯s¡± background. The Old Madam nodded with satisfaction. Her granddaughter-in-law did not speak much, and she had good manners. Lu Han, lying on the bed, was a little speechless. Guan Tong was now like a docile kitten, unlike last night when she bared her fangs and brandished her claws. Women were such fickle beings! ¡°Is Han¡¯er still not awake?¡± The Old Madam looked at Lu Han with concern. Guan Tong was speechless. How was he still not awake? He was alive and kicking last night. ¡°The doctor said that there are chances and signs of him waking up, but I don¡¯t know why he hasn¡¯t woken up yet.¡± Guan Tong said what she had planned with Lu Han last night. The woman next to her was nervous when she heard the first half of the sentence, but she was relieved when she listened to the second half. It seemed that as long as Lu Han didn¡¯t wake up, she would be fine. ¡°It¡¯s good that there are signs of him waking up. It¡¯s a good thing that there are signs.¡± When the Old Madam heard Guan Tong¡¯s words, tears welled up in her eyes. Guan Tong was stunned when she saw the Old Madam¡¯s tears. It seemed that the Old Madam was wholeheartedly concerned about Lu Han. ¡°If that¡¯s the case, there¡¯s hope for the Lu family. Fei¡¯er, you have to hurry and give us an heir.¡± The Old Madam said. ¡®Give them an heir? With a person in a comatose state, how would it be possible? But Lu Han is indeed not paralyzed now, is he?¡¯ Guan Tong thought and felt that her brain had gone haywire. ¡°Why? What¡¯s wrong? Are you unwilling?¡± The Old Madam saw Guan Tong¡¯s hesitant expression and turned cold as she asked.. Chapter 7 Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation Guan Tong didn¡¯t dare to say that she wasn¡¯t willing. Otherwise, her blood would be spilled right then on the spot. ¡°Of course, I¡¯m willing to have a baby with Lu Han. I just think it might take some time,¡± Guan Tong said. ¡®I¡¯m not a broodmare, and I can¡¯t just get pregnant with the snap of a finger.¡¯ She secretly thought to herself. The Old Madam thought about Lu Han¡¯s condition and agreed. She could understand why Guan Tong would ask for more time if she wanted an heir for the Lu family. ¡°Grandmother, please don¡¯t worry. I will take good care of Lu Han and try to get him to wake up from his state as soon as possible.¡± Guan Tong reassured as she saw how concerned the Old Madam was about Lu Han. The Old Madam nodded when she heard Guan Tong¡¯s words. Her expression softened a little. Although this girl was a little ugly, she seemed good. Thus, her impression of Guan Tong resonated within the Old Madam¡¯s heart. However, the Old Madam was still obsessed with the matter of their child as an heir. After sending the Old Madam away with great difficulty, Guan Tong worryingly called out to Lu Han, ¡°Quickly get up, get up now!¡± Guan Tong said. ¡°Has Grandmother left?¡± Lu Han opened his eyes. ¡°Yes, she¡¯s gone now.¡± Guan Tong answered with concern. ¡°What¡¯s wrong? Having a child with me would be easy for you.¡± Lu Han saw Guan Tong¡¯s sad face and raised his eyebrows. ¡°You pervert!¡± Guan Tong had been holding it in for a long time before saying this as she thought of Lu Han¡¯s sharp and barbed tongue. Lu Han saw Guan Tong¡¯s flushed little face and continued to tease her. ¡°Grandmother isn¡¯t that easy to fool. You have to think of a good countermeasure.¡± Of course, Guan Tong knew that the Old Madam wasn¡¯t easy to deal with, but she was lost as to what she could¡¯ve done to fix this situation. ¡°Don¡¯t worry too much about it.¡± Lu Han patted Guan Tong¡¯s shoulder. ¡°At most, we will have a child.¡± Guan Tong wanted to cry, but no tears came out. She was only a substitute wife, so she did not want to have a child with Lu Han. She squished her little face and suspected that her position as Madam Lu would be unstable again if she didn¡¯t give birth to an heir. If she failed, she would die eventually. Guan Tong wasn¡¯t afraid of her death, but she only worried for her grandmother. Knock! Knock! Knock! There were knocks on the door. Lu Han immediately lay down on their wedding bed again. Guan Tong was speechless when she saw Lu Han being completely carefree. She was displeased that Lu Han just lay down and played no part in this while Guan Tong dealt with those people. Guan Tong opened the door. There was the woman that came with the Old Madam. That woman was Lu Han¡¯s aunt, Liu Juan. ¡°Mother is calling for you.¡± Liu Juan arrogantly said to Guan Tong. Liu Juan knew that Lu Han had gotten married, but she didn¡¯t know he married such an ugly bride. Liu Juan thought that if Guan Tong were to be seen somewhere in public, she would be laughed at. ¡°Okay, I¡¯ll be there right away,¡± Guan Tong politely agreed. Liu Juan looked into their chamber carefully, then she twisted her slender waist and walked out. Guan Tong looked back at Lu Han. Liu Juan seemed to be very concerned about Lu Han, but it was the kind of concern that made people feel uneasy. ¡°Go.¡± Before Guan Tong could say anything, she heard Lu Han¡¯s voice. Guan Tong walked to the hall and saw the Old Madam sitting in the middle of the hall. As expected of the matriarch of the Lu family, she had an imposing manner. ¡°Grandmother.¡± Guan Tong said. The Old Madam smiled and nodded, gesturing for the servant beside her to pass some things to Guan Tong. ¡°What is this?¡± Guan Tong looked at the bag and was a little puzzled. A robust herbal scent seeped out of the bag, making Guan Tong even more confused. ¡°It¡¯s to help you and Han¡¯er consummate.¡± The Old Madam¡¯s light words were like a bolt of lightning, striking Guan Tong until she was charred on the outside and tender on the inside. ¡°Wh¡ What?¡± Guan Tong asked again for confirmation regarding the gifted bag. The Old Madam only thought that Guan Tong was a little shy, and she smiled at the confused girl. ¡°It¡¯s fine. Despite being in this state, Han¡¯er will also have some reactions. You can stimulate him when the time comes, and I might have a chance to hold my great-grandson.¡± The corners of Guan Tong¡¯s mouth twitched. The Old Madam was dreaming for sure. ¡°Got it, Grandmother.¡± Guan Tong¡¯s face became a little red as she accepted the Old Madam¡¯s gift. The Old Madam nodded her head in satisfaction. Her granddaughter-in-law was obedient and easy to handle. The Old Madam got someone to brew the medicinal herbal mixture as a gift to Guan Tong. However, as Guan Tong looked at the black herbal remedies, she couldn¡¯t help but frown. This medicine was highly potent, but it would be useless against Lu Han, who was cold as an iceberg. Moreover, she didn¡¯t want to bear Lu Han¡¯s child at all. Guan Tong was holding the herbal mixture bag as she knocked on the door to her chamber. ¡°Come in.¡± A calm voice was heard. ¡°Why are you up?¡± Guan Tong saw Lu Han sitting by the bed as soon as she entered. She thought about it and figured that if Lu Han had been acting like he was in a comatose state for a long time, he should be very familiar with things like this. Why should she be the one to worry about this? ¡°What are you carrying?¡± Lu Han frowned. He could smell the strange odor that was coming from the bag. ¡°Grandmother has asked someone to brew the herbal mixtures for you.¡± Guan Tong paused for a moment. ¡°It¡¯s very potent!¡± Lu Han could not help but smile when he heard Guan Tong¡¯s words. He didn¡¯t expect that his grandmother would be so desperate for an heir to the point of using such a method. ¡°Oh? Aren¡¯t you planning to let me drink it, and then we¡¯ll have a good time together?¡± Lu Han stared at Guan Tong with interest, but there was a trace of coldness in his eyes. He felt that this woman wanted to be married into the family to bear his child and have a better life. ¡°This was your Grandmother¡¯s idea.¡± Guan Tong realized that she could not afford to offend the other party. She had gotten used to Lu Han¡¯s obscene words for the past few days. She did not flush at his attempt this time, and her heart did not skip a beat. Lu Han scoffed coldly. Many women wanted to give birth to Lu Han¡¯s child, yet not everyone was qualified to do so. ¡°Give it to me.¡± He said.. Chapter 8 Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation Guan Tong obediently handed the bowl over to Lu Han. He swiftly took the bowl and poured the mixture into the flower pot without looking at it. Guan Tong¡¯s heart ached when she saw it. The herbal mixtures were expensive, and there were a few medicinal herbs in the bag that she regretted going to waste. ¡°You are not qualified to bear my child.¡± Lu Han said coldly as he stared at Guan Tong. However, Guan Tong was not frightened by Lu Han¡¯s expression. ¡°Oh, I understand.¡± Guan Tong replied. ¡°You will sleep on the floor tonight.¡± Lu Han said to Guan Tong. Guan Tong was speechless. She had already been sleeping on the floor for the past few days. It was not like she would climb into his bed. It was late that night that Guan Tong, who had been tired all day, fell asleep very quickly. Lu Han¡¯s eyes darkened when he heard the sound of breathing coming from the floor near his bed. He couldn¡¯t believe the girl would fall asleep this quickly. She slept soundly until dawn, and so did Lu Han. When he woke up, Lu Han felt absent-minded. He almost couldn¡¯t remember the last time he had a good sleep like this. As he looked down to see Guan Tong¡¯s sleeping face, apart from her facial scars, Guan Tong¡¯s beauty was undeniable. When Guan Tong woke up, Lu Han had already been awake for a while. She saw him lean against the bed and was thinking of something. The sunlight was shining on the side of Lu Han¡¯s face. He did not look like a monster at that moment but instead a divine, ethereal god. Guan Tong was stunned. She did not expect Lu Han to have this side in him. ¡°Well, are you stunned by my beauty?¡± Lu Han jokingly said with a faint smile. In that instant, Guan Tong¡¯s beautiful illusion of Lu Han shattered immediately. ¡°Young Master, what nonsense are you talking about so early in the morning?¡± As sharp-tongued as he was, it was rare for Lu Han to want to chit-chat with Guan Tong. Suddenly, they heard a knock on the door. ¡®Oh no, could it be that the Old Madam came to check on him?¡¯ Guan Tong thought as she recalled reading something like this in the novels before. Guan Tong, with a panic, threw her pillow onto the bed at lightning speed that missed Lu Han¡¯s head by an inch. Lu Han rubbed the space between his eyebrows as he contemplated why he kept this girl by his side in the first place. Guan Tong tidied up her clothes and ran to open the door¡ª it was Liu Juan. ¡°Why aren¡¯t you up yet?¡± Liu Juan asked as soon as she entered the door. Guan Tong was stunned. She felt that Liu Juan didn¡¯t come with good intentions. ¡°I slept too late last night.¡± Guan Tong was being honest, but Liu Juan misunderstood her reply. ¡®Could it be that the two of them have successfully consummated their marriage?¡¯ Liu Juan¡¯s expression became strange. She stuck her head in to take a look, and sure enough, the room looked messy as if Guan Tong had just got out of bed. ¡°That¡¯s good. I have to go and tell Mother.¡± Liu Juan forced a smile. ¡°Thank you for your effort, aunty.¡± Guan Tong said with a smile. When Liu Juan heard this, she left without looking back. Guan Tong heaved a sigh of relief. Then, she heard a sneer coming from the bedside. It was Lu Han. ¡°What are you laughing at?¡± Guan Tong was puzzled. ¡°I¡¯m afraid your words will make Liu Juan very angry.¡± Lu Han said to Guan Tong as he explained. Liu Juan had long fancied her position as the head of the Lu family and wanted her son to be the head. However, she usually disguised her true intentions well, and the Old Madam was kind-hearted, so the Old Madam didn¡¯t take any further action. How could Liu Juan be happy for Guan Tong if she could bear a child? Guan Tong thought about it carefully, and it made sense. The Lu family was big, so there was a high chance of more secrets hidden under the surface. ¡°Put away that gossipy look of yours.¡± Lu Han sneered at the curious girl. ¡°Think about how to deal with Grandmother later. She¡¯s not as gullible as Liu Juan.¡± Lu Han warned. Guan Tong smiled bitterly when she heard Lu Han¡¯s words. Sure enough, this round would be a difficult one. ¡°Can I¡ Can I just say that you couldn¡¯t get the job done?¡± Guan Tong thought about it for a while. This was probably the best solution, and she couldn¡¯t be held accountable in this case, too. ¡°No.¡± Lu Han¡¯s lips twitched. He was unpleased by the girl¡¯s audacity. Guan Tong lowered her head and looked aggrieved. Lu Han didn¡¯t know why, but his heart softened when he saw Guan Tong¡¯s expression. So he picked up a dagger under the pillow, cut his finger, and dripped down his blood on the bedsheet. As Guan Tong raised her head and saw what was happening, she was stunned. She almost couldn¡¯t believe that Lu Han was helping her. ¡°You¡¡± Guan Tong starred at Lu Han in disbelief. ¡°Cut the crap.¡± Lu Han felt like his head was going crazy. He almost couldn¡¯t believe that he was helping this girl. Guan Tong was still surprised that there was a dagger under Lu Han¡¯s pillow. Fortunately, she didn¡¯t try anything during the night. Otherwise, she would have been stabbed by Lu Han. Just the thought of it was enough to frighten her. ¡°Do you know what you¡¯ll have to say?¡± Lu Han raised his eyes. ¡°I know, I know.¡± Guan Tong quickly nodded. As she said this, she heard a knock on the door again. Liu Juan came to tell her to go to the front hall. When Guan Tong arrived at the front hall, she saw the Old Madam looking at her with a smile. She felt that each step she took was heavier and heavier. ¡°Grandmother.¡± Guan Tong greeted the Old Madam respectfully. ¡°Tongtong is here.¡± The Old Madam jovially rejoiced. ¡®Even the way she addressed me had changed. It seemed that this great-grandson holds a powerful force.¡¯ Guan Tong had thought to herself. ¡°How was last night?¡± The Old Madam excitedly asked with a smile. ¡°It was good¡¡± Guan Tong wanted to cry, but she couldn¡¯t. She felt like she was being strangled to answer such an embarrassing question in public.. Chapter 9 Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation At this moment, a servant brought by the Old Madam came to her ear and said a few words. Suddenly, the Old Madam became even happier. Guan Tong thought that Lu Han¡¯s method was effective. It seemed that Old Madam was not easy to deceive. ¡°Tongtong, you should also nourish your body,¡± the Old Madam said to Guan Tong with a wide smile. Guan Tong heard the alarm bells ringing in her heart. What kind of medicine did the Old Madam want to give her? ¡°Grandmother, I¡¯m in good health. Don¡¯t worry. I¡¯ll keep the money to buy some supplements for you and Lu Han.¡± Guan Tong felt that her answer was perfect. She could show her modest and earnest side and also express her empathy. As expected, the Old Madam smiled radiantly when she heard Guan Tong¡¯s words. Liu Juan rolled her eyes. This was proof that Guan Tong was indeed a naive, country girl who had never seen the world. ¡°Alright, alright, alright. I¡¯ll listen to you. However, you can¡¯t be too careless with your health.¡± the Old Madam said as she took Guan Tong¡¯s hand and patted it. The Old Madam probably couldn¡¯t bear the thought of parting with her great-grandson. ¡°Uncle Tang, you know what to do.¡± the Old Madam said to Uncle Tang with a smile on her face. Uncle Tang was startled when he heard the Old Madam¡¯s words. Old Madam was not easy to please, yet a few words from Guan Tong had made the Old Madam so happy that she bloomed. ¡°Yes, Old Madam. Please don¡¯t worry.¡± Uncle Tang reassured her. The Old Madam nodded her head in relief when she heard this. This uncle Tang had been taking care of Lu Han since he was young. She had her complete trust in him. Although Guan Tong might have a few facial scars, she had an extremely great personality. She did not cry when she married a comatose man. On the contrary, she smiled, making people happy when they saw her. If Lu Han had woken up, Guan Tong definitely would¡¯ve easily climbed up the social ladder. However, they did not know that Lu Han had already woken up. The Lu family was indebted to this girl, so they felt obligated to treat her better. Guan Tong finally finished dealing with the Old Madam, and just as she was about to go back. Then, she saw Liu Juan staring at her with an unfriendly sight. Guan Tong sighed in her heart. Liu Juan was looking at the wrong person to vent her anger on. Even if Lu Han did not marry her, he would be marrying someone else anyway. Liu Juan looked at Guan Tong¡¯s pitying eyes and was confused. It was one thing for this girl to be ugly, but could she also not be that sharp? ¡°You¡¯re back?¡± Guan Tong heard Lu Han¡¯s magnetic voice as soon as she entered the room and closed the door. She thought that that question was complete nonsense. Didn¡¯t he see that she was standing there already? ¡°Did Grandmother bombard you with questions?¡± Lu Han instantly began his probing. ¡°Yes, but I said that you couldn¡¯t get the job done, so Grandmother didn¡¯t make things difficult for me.¡± Guan Tong decided to tease the vicious man. ¡°I can¡¯t? You don¡¯t even know if I¡¯m capable or not.¡± Sure enough, Lu Han was stunned and displeased by Guan Tong¡¯s answer. Guan Tong was speechless. How could the Old Madam know that she had been sleeping on the floor these few days? She even gave Lu Han a bath with her eyes closed. ¡°I do not wish to know.¡± Guan Tong¡¯s naive eyes revealed her panic. Lu Han smiled. He could sense that the girl was trying to set him up. ¡°Then what if there¡¯s still no progress after a few months?¡± Guan Tong was a little doubtful. Lu Han raised his eyebrows and replied with a smirk. ¡°Then the responsibility will lie on you.¡± ¡°Why would you push the ball to me?¡± Guan Tong pointed at her nose. She did not realize that what she did was an adorable act to Lu Han¡¯s eyes. Lu Han was stunned when he saw Guan Tong¡¯s action. It seemed almost as if Lu Han¡¯s eyes turned cold. He had been spoiling this girl for the past few days. ¡°You¡¯ll have to find a way. Anyway, you¡¯re not her.¡± Lu Han¡¯s expression turned cold as he walked towards the bathroom. Guan Tong was a little confused when she saw Lu Han¡¯s sudden change in his mannerism. Perhaps, it was because Lu Han had been living with a woman for the past few days that he had gone soft? It was simply baffling to Guan Tong. However, she had caught his message. He mentioned ¡°her¡±. ¡®Could it be that he was already in a relationship with someone?¡¯ Guan Tong was overjoyed. This was easy to handle. Even though she didn¡¯t know where the mysterious woman was, if he couldn¡¯t find her, Guan Tong could still help. If she succeeds, she might be able to leave this place, perhaps with a reward from Lu Han as well. Guan Tong was pleased with the news. She had no wish to stay like this in broad daylight. It just so happened that Lu Han had granted her permission to enter and leave the garden as she wished. Guan Tong sighed. It was a shame that the garden was beautiful. She could see that it was much better to stay out here instead of being cooped up in the house. ¡°Madam, where are you going?¡± Uncle Tang asked respectfully when he saw Guan Tong walking out of the castle. ¡°I¡¯m heading to the garden.¡± Guan Tong replied. ¡°Madam, do you need me to lead the way?¡± Uncle Tang wouldn¡¯t dare neglect Guan Tong when he saw the attitude of the Young Master and the Old Madam. ¡°It¡¯s not necessary. Thank you, Uncle Tang.¡± Guan Tong politely refused Uncle Tang looked at Guan Tong¡¯s back and sighed. He didn¡¯t know whether this girl was a blessing or a curse, but her personality was more compatible with the Young Master than the rest of his previous wives. Guan Tong couldn¡¯t help but praise the miracle of the creator once again when she arrived at the garden. Apart from the riches and glamorous estate of the Lu family, their garden was also a masterpiece. ¡°What¡¯s wrong with you? That girl, Lin Fei, is hideous, and Lu Han is sharing a bed with her!¡± Guan Tong hadn¡¯t even reached the center of the garden when she heard a female voice coming from the other end of the bushes.. Guan Tong could tell that it was Liu Juan¡¯s voice! Chapter 10 Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation Guan Tong wondered who Liu Juan was on the phone with. She was speaking in a clandestine tone and quiet whispering. Guan Tong rushed to a tall tree and hid behind to avoid Liu Juan from seeing her. ¡°You incompetent slob! That ugly girl, Lin Fei, had got into Lu Han¡¯s bed, yet you haven¡¯t even had a whiff of his clothes!¡± Liu Juan angrily whispered. The woman on the other end of the line seemed to feel a sense of guilt. Lu Han had been in a comatose state for many years now, and the Old Madam was greatly concerned that she needed to find someone born on a cloudy day under many specific conditions. Hence, that woman must have felt that she couldn¡¯t get in Lu Han¡¯s sight under all the supervision from the Old Madam. Guan Tong could only roughly make out what she was hearing. Liu Juan wanted another woman to be Lu Han¡¯s wife, but it was a pity that that woman probably failed in her attempt for all these years. Guan Tong, however, ended up here on her own and managed to navigate her way in the Lu family with the approval of the Old Madam and Lu Han, which made her anxious. ¡°I don¡¯t care! I brought you here to lie in Lu Han¡¯s bed. If you can¡¯t see it through, you might as well just leave!¡± Liu Juan insisted. Guan Tong listened as she heard Liu Juan give an anonymous girl the ultimatum. ¡°You don¡¯t have to worry about that ugly girl. I¡¯ll find a way to get rid of her.¡± The girl replied to Liu Juan. Guan Tong was speechless, she knew she wasn¡¯t a great beauty, but nothing had happened between her and Lu Han. She felt like it was all his fault. Handsome men always lead to troubles. After Guan Tong heard Liu Juan and the girl¡¯s conversation, she had lost all her excitement to stroll the garden. She felt like she should have gone back sooner to stay by Lu Han¡¯s side. At least she would feel safer. As Lu Han walked out of the bathroom, he noticed that no one was in there. Lu Han assumed that Guan Tong got angry at his words and left the room. Just as Lu Han was busy thinking about Guan Tong and where she went, she suddenly walked in and patted her chest. ¡°What¡¯s wrong? You look like you¡¯ve just seen a wolf.¡± Lu Han asked. ¡°It was worse than seeing a wolf.¡± If Guan Tong had met a wolf, at least that was a chance for her to escape but what she encountered was much worse. Lu Han raised his eyebrows because he knew that Guan Tong was not an easily-startled woman. Guan Tong thought about what she heard and decided not to tell Lu Han about Liu Juan¡¯s conversation in the garden. She did not trust Lu Han enough yet. ¡°You¡¡± However, Lu Han did not give Guan Tong the chance to escape. ¡°Is the medicine used to calm the nerves?¡± Guan Tong asked. Lu Han¡¯s expression turned cold. It seemed that this girl knew something. Although the medicine he used was to calm the nerves, the smell of the mixture was no different from that of pickled vegetables. Lu Han was sure that no one would be smart enough to smell the difference. ¡°What do you know?¡± Lu Han took a big step forward and rushed toward Guan Tong. He grabbed Guan Tong¡¯s neck with a fierce expression. ¡°Cough! Cough! Let go of me!¡± She struggled. Guan Tong¡¯s face was red from the pressure around her neck. However, Lu Han did not let go. Instead, he added more pressure around her throat. Guan Tong felt her windpipe being crushed. She was afraid that she would die today. At this moment, Lu Han¡¯s heart softened when he saw Guan Tong¡¯s familiar naive eyes. He then relaxed his grip and let go. He knew that he shouldn¡¯t lose himself at this moment. Lu Han wanted to eliminate the problem, root, and stem. However, he couldn¡¯t bear to hurt Guan Tong when he saw the pair of eyes that reminded him of the mysterious woman. ¡°Are you going to strangle me to death!?¡± Guan Tong protested. She didn¡¯t know that she almost got herself killed from just asking a question. Lu Han could tell that the girl in front of him had no strength to fight against him at all. Otherwise, it would be impossible for her not to resist his grip. ¡°Although this is a sedative medicine, one of the ingredients is crucial.¡± Lu Han quietly waited for Guan Tong to respond. Guan Tong coughed twice. The man was indeed a deadly and dangerous person, and his tight grip had left a mark on her neck. ¡°This medicine is known as the Scorpion Poison. It¡¯s scarce but at the same time also extremely potent. You¡¯ve been in a comatose state for so long that you probably can¡¯t stand its effects. You would feel a burning sensation inside of you. This probably had something to do with your injuries.¡± Guan Tong remembered the last time she bathed Lu Han. She saw two visible wounds on his hip. They were deep enough to reach his internal organs that could be fatal. As Lu Han heard Guan Tong¡¯s speculation, his eyes darkened. She was right. ¡°How do you know?¡± Lu Han would¡¯ve killed this girl today if he couldn¡¯t get an answer from her. ¡°I saw it when I bathed you last time. Plus, I have some knowledge about that medicine you were using.¡± Guan Tong looked at Lu Han and said. Lu Han saw that the girl in front of him had innocent eyes. Besides, he was sure that Guan Tong wasn¡¯t lying to him, but he was still wondering who she indeed was. Anyone would rarely know or hear of the Scorpion Poison. A young girl like her would have less chance of knowing about it. ¡°You¡¯d better not tell anyone about what you know, or I¡¯ll have to kill you. Dead men don¡¯t talk.¡± Lu Han¡¯s eyes flashed maliciously as he slowly approached Guan Tong. ¡°I¡I can cure you.¡± Guan Tong was forced to step back by the approaching Lu Han. She didn¡¯t want to die yet. Lu Han didn¡¯t believe Guan Tong¡¯s words. If his injury was impossible for even the best doctors they could find, he doubted that this innocent girl would know how to heal him. ¡°You don¡¯t believe me? Well, no one else could cure your wounds, so give me a chance.¡± Guan Tong insisted. Lu Han was angered by Guan Tong¡¯s words and sarcastically laughed at her for thinking of him as a guinea pig.. Chapter 11 Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation ¡°Stretch out your hand first. I¡¯ll take your pulse.¡± Guan Tong pulled Lu Han¡¯s hand. Her eyes lit up when she saw Lu Han. Could it be possible that he¡¯ll let her heal his injury? Lu Han was annoyed. He was distracted by Guan Tong¡¯s bright eyes, and suddenly he was under Guan Tong¡¯s persuasion, and she succeeded. Guan Tong ignored Lu Han¡¯s reaction. She gained her medical skills from an older man that was her grandmother¡¯s neighbor when she was young. Guan Tong remembered that his house was filled with medical books. Back then, she had nothing to do after school, so she would stay at his home as she enjoyed the older man¡¯s humor and learned his medical knowledge along the way. ¡°Hmm¡¡± Guan Tong frowned. ¡°It¡¯s not a complicated disease. It¡¯s just that the doctor who treated you previously misdiagnosed your conditions.¡± Guan Tong¡¯s expression was severe. Human life is no joking matter, and a wrong diagnosis could result in fatality. ¡°How old are you? How could you know anything?¡± Lu Han laughed when he heard that and withdrew his hand to mock Guan Tong¡¯s comment. Guan Tong pouted when she heard that. She knew that she was young, but many doctors didn¡¯t have her kind of knowledge. ¡°You don¡¯t have to believe me, but the doctor who treated you was a quack. If you continue taking his prescription, you¡¯ll die.¡± Guan Tong quickly followed Lu Han. She thought that the previous doctor¡¯s mind was probably somewhere else when he diagnosed him. She wanted a chance to heal him. ¡°How about we try this? Why don¡¯t you find that doctor and have him come to me instead?¡± Guan Tong was also angry. She did not understand why her good intention was being shunned and dismissed by Lu Han as she only wanted to help him. Lu Han saw the determination in Guan Tong¡¯s eyes. Since she wanted to make a mistake that much, he obliged. ¡°What if you¡¯re wrong?¡± Lu Han asked. ¡°I¡¯m at your disposal! Do whatever you want to me.¡± Guan Tong wholeheartedly believed in her diagnosis of Lu Han¡¯s injury. ¡°Okay then, Uncle Tang!¡± Lu Han looked at Guan Tong and shouted to his butler. ¡°Yes, Young Master.¡± Uncle Tang came in and felt the tense atmosphere. He was confused about the situation as everything seemed just fine this morning. ¡°Go and find Doctor Han.¡± Lu Han ordered. ¡°Young Master, is something wrong with your health?¡± Uncle Tang¡¯s eyes were filled with worry when he heard this. ¡°No, it was Madam who insisted on asking Doctor Han some questions.¡± Lu Han further explained. ¡°Yes, right away, Young Master.¡± Uncle Tang looked at Guan Tong in confusion, but it was inappropriate for him to push the matter further as a servant. ¡°You¡¯d better keep your promise.¡± Lu Han reminded Guan Tong. ¡°Then what if I¡¯m right?¡± Guan Tong felt that she had become bolder as she dared to negotiate with the Young Master Lu. ¡°You can ask anything of me, and I¡¯ll agree to it.¡± Lu Han simply did not think that Guan Tong would have guessed right. Guan Tong put her hands on her hips, feeling exasperated. She wanted to show this man what she was capable of. Not long after, Uncle Tang brought in a white-bearded old man. This old man looked fair and chubby, but he did not look like a sixty-year-old man at all. ¡°Young Master and Madam, Doctor Han is here.¡± Uncle Tang quietly brought him in. ¡°Young Master, is there any problem regarding your wellbeing?¡± Doctor Han asked with concern. He was Lu Han¡¯s doctor, and his fears for Lu Han¡¯s health came naturally. ¡°I feel the same.¡± Lu Han leaned on the bed and glanced at Guan Tong. ¡°Doctor Han, I have a few questions I¡¯d like to ask you.¡± Guan Tong cleared her throat and asked the doctor. ¡°Madam, please go ahead.¡± Doctor Han knew that his master¡¯s fifth wife was currently safe and sound in the family home, and this must be her. ¡°Did you prescribe Lu Han with the Scorpion Poison?¡± Guan Tong asked frankly. Doctor Han and Uncle Tang looked strange when they heard Guan Tong call Lu Han by his name. However, when they saw that Lu Han did not flare up, they knew the woman¡¯s current status. Lu Han did not overthink it. He felt that he did not hate it when Guan Tong called him by his name. So, he did not make a scene. ¡°Yes, Madam. The Scorpion Poison is the best solution to counteract Young Master¡¯s Yang energy. It¡¯s most effective on someone with a colder body.¡± Doctor Han answered Guan Tong¡¯s question with confidence. Guan Tong knew that this was Doctor Han¡¯s diagnosis, but the truth was quite different. ¡°Madam, do you have medical knowledge too?¡± Doctor Han felt that it was strange. Not many people knew about the Scorpion Poison. It was an ancient medicine. In addition, it was rare to find, so he wondered how this young girl in front of him would even know of it. ¡°I¡¯ve done some research. I took Lu Han¡¯s pulse just now and found that the results were somewhat different from yours.¡± ¡°Oh? If you could tell me what you mean by this?¡± Doctor Han did not understand what Guan Tong was saying. ¡°What I meant was that you misdiagnosed Lu Han and gave him the wrong prescriptions.¡± Guan Tong said straightforwardly. When Doctor Han heard this, his eyes widened. How dare this girl from nowhere to question his skills and knowledge. He was displeased by her question. ¡°Madam, please be careful with your words. I have been practicing medicine for more than 50 years and have never made mistakes. Let alone with the matter of someone like the Young Master.¡± ¡°Doctor Han, I disagree with you. Perhaps you¡¯ve never made a mistake before, but this time you did.¡± Guan Tong shook her head and immediately disagreed.. Chapter 12 Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation ¡°Why do you think so?¡± Since the young girl dared to question him, Doctor Han no longer worried about putting anyone to shame. Even though she was Lu Han¡¯s wife, he couldn¡¯t let her walk over him and question his medical knowledge. ¡°There is cold air flowing inside of Lu Han¡¯s body. This is because he was previously poisoned. In addition, the Yang energy in his wound is leaking out.¡± Guan Tong stated. ¡°That¡¯s right.¡± Doctor Han nodded. ¡°Then why did my wife say that your diagnosis was wrong?¡± Lu Han asked as their diagnoses were undeniably the same. ¡°But Doctor Han, you overlooked one important detail. It was the type of poison used against Lu Han initially.¡± Guan Tong told the doctor. ¡°How could I not know about the poison at that time?¡± Doctor Han scoffed. After Lu Han was being poisoned, he had already been treating Lu Han ever since. ¡°That poison is called Cold Poison. Just as the name suggests, after the poison is in contact with the human body, it causes a person¡¯s entire body to turn cold.¡± Guan Tong revealed the details that Doctor Han had forgotten. Doctor Han was shocked. He did not know who this girl could have known about this. Maybe the Young Master gave her this information? At this moment, Lu Han was also surprised. Who exactly was this girl? How could she know so much of his secret? ¡°But according to the ancient books, the only way to break the coldness is to fight poison with poison.¡± Guan Tong added. Doctor Han frowned. Fight poison with poison. How would that work? ¡°Doctor Han, don¡¯t doubt this. Think carefully about what effect the Scorpion Poison has had for so many years?¡± Doctor Han choked on Guan Tong¡¯s words. For so many years, Lu Han¡¯s body showed no signs of improvement at all. Instead, his condition only worsened. Lu Han had to endure the pain of the cold blood that ran through his veins every full moon. Even if he resorted to the heat of a fire, he would still feel the freezing coldness that would require immediate medical attention the next day. ¡°Then why don¡¯t you think of another way to counteract this condition?¡± Guan Tong questioned. ¡°Madam, why don¡¯t you take a look at the Young Master¡¯s health? Fighting poison with poison is a viable method, but Lu Han¡¯s body conditions would be unable to withstand that kind of treatment.¡± Doctor Han refused Guan Tong¡¯s method ultimately. Doctor Han was against Guan Tong¡¯s method because it was too risky to fight poison with poison, and Lu Han¡¯s body might suffer instead from the extreme way. Guan Tong turned to look at Lu Han, who was leaning against the bed. His face was pale, and he indeed looked like a weak little child. ¡°So, Young Master, what do you think should be our next course of action?¡± Guan Tong decided to ask the person involved, and if they didn¡¯t listen, she would be the one to save the day. ¡°Doctor Han, are you admitting that this is another method?¡± Lu Han raised his eyebrows. He did not expect Guan Tong to be so capable. Doctor Han lowered his head. ¡°Young Master, there is such a method in the ancient books. However, this ancient book is archaic. Very few people who practice medicine nowadays even know of it. I wonder how Madam knew about this?¡± Doctor Han was somewhat dissatisfied after being refuted by an innocent young girl. ¡°I saw it at my Grandfather¡¯s place in the countryside.¡± Guan Tong answered honestly. ¡®The countryside? Has Lin Fei ever been to the countryside? Who did she meet? What did she encounter?¡¯ Lu Han decided to let Uncle Tang investigate it carefully again and report everything to him. ¡°Madam is right, but the risk is also unacceptable.¡± The doctor continued building his argument for the Young Master. ¡°There is no medicine to cure Cold Poison, but Doctor Han should already know this.¡± Guan Tong¡¯s expression became serious. What kind of quack doctor was he? Was he just trying to slide by? If they waited any longer, Lu Han¡¯s life would be over. ¡°Madam, you¡¡± Doctor Han¡¯s face was also red in the front of Guan Tong¡¯s wrath. ¡°Alright, doctor, just tell me if this girl is right.¡± Seeing that the two of them were arguing endlessly, Lu Han tried to end the conversation. ¡°Madam is right.¡± Doctor Han gritted his teeth. ¡°Alright, I got it. You may leave now.¡± Lu Han waved his hand, dismissing his doctor. Doctor Han was stunned. He was surprised that the Young Master would just let him off the hook. Lu Han seemed to have seen through Doctor Han¡¯s thoughts. ¡°My punishment for you is to go back and reevaluate your false diagnosis. You have to stay in for a month.¡± When Doctor Han heard this, his face wrinkled like a dumpling. He usually loved to go outside and visit the mountain range to pick herbs. But now, that would no longer be possible for him. It would feel like a lifetime for Doctor Han. Guan Tong looked at Doctor Han, who was looking at her angrily and clutched her face. She couldn¡¯t understand what was wrong with Doctor Han since he was so calm when he was arguing only a few minutes before. Why was Lu Han suddenly angry and decide to punish his doctor this way? ¡°Why did you prohibit him from going out? He was here to treat you.¡± Guan Tong had to admit that Doctor Han was very experienced, but he was only too afraid to try such a revolutionary method that she suggested. ¡°I have you here to treat me. That would be sufficient.¡± Lu Han raised his eyebrows. Guan Tong was angry. At this time, she suddenly recalled that Lu Han wanted to choke her to death earlier. ¡°Oh, I thought someone wanted to choke me to death just now.¡± Guan Tong felt her vengeance. ¡°Don¡¯t worry. I remember my promise. Tell me what you want from me.¡± Lu Han said. He was a man of his word. ¡°Let¡¯s talk about it after I heal your wounds.¡± Guan Tong said to Lu Han with modesty. She was happy when she heard that the Young Master wanted to uphold their agreement as she didn¡¯t expect that Lu Han would keep his promise after only a little trickery. ¡°Can you heal them?¡± Lu Han asked for her reaffirmation. ¡°Yes, but the disease runs deep in your skin. It might take some time to heal.¡± Lu Han listened to Guan Tong¡¯s words and couldn¡¯t help but find her serious expressions interesting.. Chapter 13 Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation ¡°Let me think about it.¡± Guan Tong knew that she couldn¡¯t be careless of her treatment. After all, it was a matter of life and death. Lu Han was completely catching on. If this girl could save him, he would reward her with something. If not, he knew exactly what he wanted to do to her. At this moment, the Old Madam¡¯s voice suddenly sounded from outside the door. ¡°Tongtong, open the door.¡± A loud noise filled the room. Guan Tong was stunned as she looked at Lu Han. Why would the Old Madam come to visit at this time? Guan Tong wondered if Old Madam knew that Doctor Han was here just a while back. ¡°Quickly! Lie down now.¡± If the Old Madam saw Lu Han up and walking like this, Guan Tong would be in big trouble. Lu Han was obedient at this moment and lay down as she asked. ¡°Grandmother.¡± Guan Tong opened the door and welcomed the old woman with a big smile. The Old Madam saw that Guan Tong was also smiling. ¡°Tongtong, here is the medication for today. Don¡¯t forget to give them to Han¡¯er.¡± Guan Tong looked at the black herbal mixture and sighed in her heart. It seemed that this would anger Lu Han and cost her her life again. ¡°Okay, Grandmother. I will make sure Lu Han takes his medication, and I¡¯ll take good care of him.¡± Guan Tong obediently took the herbal medical bowl from the servant. Lu Han, who was lying on the bed, twitched the corner of his mouth. He was amused that Guan Tong was suddenly obedient as she talked to his grandmother. ¡°Alright, then I will leave first. You give it to Lu Han, alright?¡± The Old Madam reluctantly poked her head into the couple¡¯s chamber. ¡°Yes, Grandmother, don¡¯t you worry.¡± Guan Tong did not dare to keep the Old Madam waiting any longer. After sending off the Old Madam, Guan Tong held the medicine bowl and closed the door. ¡°Young Master, quickly get up and drink these.¡± Guan Tong wanted to keep the Old Madam away from seeing Lu Han drinking the medicinal mixture she had given him. Lu Han could tell what Guan Tong was thinking from the look in her eyes. ¡°Stop looking at me like that. I don¡¯t want to drink it. You¡¯re unbelievable¡¡± Lu Han sat up, took the medicine bowl, and poured it into the flower pot. ¡°Don¡¯t just pour it into a flower pot! This medicine is too rich that flowers can¡¯t take it. Can¡¯t you see that they¡¯re so wilted already?¡± Lu Han raised his eyebrows. He felt that the girl was cluelessly making trouble out of nothing. ¡°Why don¡¯t you drink it so it won¡¯t go to waste.¡± Lu Han suggested. ¡°No, no.¡± Guan Tong hurriedly waved her hand. ¡°Forget it. Grandmother was too kind to you.¡± Guan Tong didn¡¯t want to drink it. She would¡¯ve gotten a nosebleed as soon as she swallowed the herbal mixture. Knock! Knock! Knock! At that moment, there were knocks on the door. Guan Tong walked over and opened the door. It was the Old Madam who had recently left and returned. ¡°Grandmother, what are you¡¡± Guan Tong was confused. ¡°I¡¯ve thought about it. It¡¯s safer to watch Han¡¯er drink the medicine. This way, I can see if Han¡¯er has any reactions.¡± Guan Tong was so scared when she heard the Old Madam¡¯s words that her hair stood up. If the Old Madam saw the medicine in the flower pot, Guan Tong would be in big trouble. ¡°Grandmother, the medicine has already been fed. Lu Han drank it already.¡± ¡°He drank it? Oh, that¡¯s good. Tongtong, is there anything you need help with? We¡¯ve all been through this before. It¡¯s not a big deal if you need a little help.¡± The Old Madam smiled happily when she heard this. Guan Tong thought the man would undoubtedly have some reaction if he drank the medicine. Could it be that the Old Madam just wanted to watch from the side as she fed him the herbal mixture? The Old Madam walked past Guan Tong and entered the chamber as she spoke. Guan Tong hurriedly chased after her in panic. Liu Juan quickly followed in, and she had to cover her nose from the smell of the herbal mixture. ¡°Hmm. Why is this flower pot soaking wet?¡± The flower pot that Liu Juan saw was the one that Lu Han poured the medicine into earlier. Guan Tong sighed. She already warned Lu Han not to pour the herbal mixture into the flower pot. He did so, and now someone took notice of that suspiciously soaking wet flower pot. When the Old Madam heard Liu Juan¡¯s words, she was also puzzled. It indeed looked like someone just poured a large amount of liquid into the pot. ¡°I just recently poured water in there.¡± Guan Tong awkwardly explained. When the Old Madam heard this, she was doubtful. However, Liu Juan felt that it was better for her no matter the problem. Moreover, Liu Juan could smell a strong odor of medicinal herbs from the flower pot. She couldn¡¯t help but feel happy. It seemed that the newlyweds did not share a bed. This way, the hope for Guan Tong and Lu Han¡¯s child and an heir to the Lu family dimmed. Liu Juan and that woman still had a chance at becoming the head of the family. Of course, Liu Juan did not want this matter to be discovered by the Old Madam. Moreover, she hoped to keep it a secret for as long as possible. ¡°Next time, don¡¯t just pour this much water into the flower pot.¡± Liu Juan said. Guan Tong was a bright girl. When she heard this, she somewhat understood Liu Juan¡¯s intentions. However, it was also good to have a ¡®heavenly intervention¡¯ to prevent the Old Madam from suspecting anything strange with the soaking wet flower pot. ¡°Why isn¡¯t Han¡¯er responding?¡± Liu Juan said. The Old Madam was no longer thinking about the flower pot, and her attention was only directed at her grandson. ¡°I need more time. He was just like this last night.¡± Guan Tong wanted to drag it out for as long as she possibly could. ¡°Mother, why are we bothering the young couple here? There might be good news coming in a few days.¡± Liu Juan was not interested in watching the young couple having a ¡°good time¡±, let alone watching her nephew¡¯s ¡°good time¡±. ¡°Then we¡¯ll leave. If you have something to ask, just ask. There¡¯s no need to be embarrassed.¡± The Old Madam looked at Guan Tong¡¯s red face and thought it made sense. It looked like she might hear about the good news in a few days.. Chapter 14 Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation ¡°Okay, Grandmother, I got it.¡± Guan Tong¡¯s face flushed, the Old Madam was old, yet she was strangely open-minded as well. ¡°Then I¡¯ll be leaving first.¡± The Old Madam was still reluctant to leave before she left. She was delighted with Guan Tong¡¯s obedience. Lu Han¡¯s wife didn¡¯t need to be perfect, but she just needed to be an obedient wife and daughter-in-law. On the other hand, Guan Tong hoped to send this old lady away as soon as possible. Otherwise, Lu Han would be exposed, but she would also be. ¡°Next time the Old Madam is here, I¡¯m sure she would want to watch you drink her medications.¡± Guan Tong said to Lu Han as she closed the door. Lu Han opened his eyes. Based on his understanding of his grandmother, she was probably already suspicious of his marriage. When the time came, he wanted to see how Guan Tong would deal with it. ¡°When the time comes, our fate will depend on how you perform.¡± Lu Han¡¯s light and careless behavior made Guan Tong extremely angry. Although this matter was also related to her own life, she did things in his favor. Does he have no compassion for anyone at all other than himself? ¡°We are now on the same boat in this matter. Moreover, I¡¯m going to heal your injury as well,¡± Guan Tong reminded him. ¡°Out of my kindness.¡± ¡°Oh.¡± Lu Han looked at the flowers beside him. They were indeed wilted. Guan Tong was anxious. She did not want to talk to this arrogant man. She had better think about how to treat Lu Han¡¯s illness. It was not because of him but for the sake of his family and Old Madam. She could not leave him to die. In the blink of an eye, the next day arrived. Last night, Guan Tong studied her medical knowledge at her reading table. She had fallen asleep on the desk and woke up in the morning. The morning sun was shining down Guan Tong¡¯s face. Lu Han had woken up and noticed a small detail of her feature. On her face, where there were no scars, her skin was fair and supple. He wanted to know why she stayed up all night and studied. What were her intentions? Guan Tong woke up and stretched her back, and realized that she had a blanket covering her. She was glad that Lu Han was kind enough to show her empathy and put a blanket on her. ¡°Since you called others quacks, what did you discover after you spent your night researching?¡± Lu Han couldn¡¯t help but ask Guan Tong after seeing that she had woken up. ¡°A certain someone is going to suffer forever from an incurable disease.¡± Guan Tong sarcastically rolled her eyes. ¡°Then a certain someone is going to die.¡± Lu Han retaliated against Guan Tong with a smirk. Guan Tong sighed. She almost forgot that her life was in the hands of someone else. ¡°Sigh, then I better save someone¡¯s life, but we¡¯re going to need acupuncture.¡± Guan Tong thought for a whole night and finally thought of the safest way to start her healing process for Lu Han. Lu Han raised his eyebrows. Acupuncture? The girl was so young and innocent, yet she knew of an old traditional Chinese medicinal procedure. ¡°It¡¯s just that I have no tools here to start with.¡± Guan Tong was troubled. ¡°Doctor Han has it. Doctor Han¡¯s family has been practicing this procedure for generations.¡± Lu Han got up and headed to the bathroom. ¡°Then could you just borrow the tools from Doctor Han when you can?¡± Guan Tong asked. ¡°You have offended Doctor Han yesterday. As if he would want to lend you anything now.¡± Lu Han scoffed at Guan Tong and her small face smushed. She would not have been so stiff if she had known this yesterday. It would be wiser for her to be tactful and pay Doctor Han a little more respect. ¡°I¡¯ll call Doctor Han over today. You can do acupuncture under his supervision.¡± Lu Han thought that his body would not be able to drag on for long. Since the girl was so adamant, he was willing to give her a chance. Guan Tong smiled happily when she heard that. As long as she had a chance to do it, all would be alright. When the right time came, she would show everyone how capable she was. As expected, Uncle Tang brought over Doctor Han in the afternoon. ¡°How has the Young Master been these past few days?¡± Doctor Han asked Uncle Tang. ¡°He¡¯s quite the same. It¡¯s just that Madam has thought of a solution, so she wants you over.¡± Uncle Tang replied. ¡°Could it be that Madam is thinking of another way to fight poison with poison?¡± After Doctor Han went back that day, he contemplated it and still felt that the method was too risky. Today, he was here to refute Guan Tong. ¡°No, I have thought of another way.¡± Guan Tong said. ¡°What way?¡± Doctor Han was perplexed by Guan Tong¡¯s statement. He wanted to know if Madam had thought of a new way to heal the Young Master. Doctor Han studied medicinal treatment for many years, yet he couldn¡¯t find a better way than how he treated Lu Han previously. ¡°I still need your help.¡± Guan Tong could see that this Doctor Han was an old child who only needed comfort. ¡°Madam¡¯s medical skills are brilliant. How could she need any help from an old man like me?¡± Doctor Han replied. ¡°Doctor Han, you must be joking. You¡¯re from a medical family, and I¡¯m just a beginner. I still need your guidance.¡± Sure enough, Doctor Han felt much better after hearing Guan Tong¡¯s words. ¡°What tools do you need?¡± He asked. ¡°A set of silver needles.¡± Doctor Han¡¯s reaction when he heard Guan Tong¡¯s words was the same as Lu Han¡¯s. ¡°Acupuncture? Are you sure?¡± ¡°Don¡¯t worry, Doctor Han. I¡¯m still under your watch.¡± Guan Tong smiled. ¡°Well, it¡¯s a good thing that I carry my acupuncture tools with me.¡± Doctor Han was proficient in Chinese medicine, so acupuncture tools were a staple in his essential kit. Guan Tong thought of this and hoped she wouldn¡¯t come off as a show-off during her procedure. ¡°Lie down.¡± Guan Tong picked up an acupuncture needle, and her expression became serious.. Chapter 15 Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation Lu Han obediently lay down on the ground. This was the second time Guan Tong had seen Lu Han¡¯s back other than when she took a bath. His body pleased her eyes. ¡°It might hurt a little. Bear with it.¡± Guan Tong warned. At this moment, there was a knock on the door from outside. Guan Tong panicked. Could it be the Old Madam? Guan Tong and Lu Han looked at each other and tacitly put away the acupuncture tools. Then, Guan Tong went and opened the door. ¡°Greetings, Old Madam.¡± Doctor Han admired the Old Madam. It was not easy for her to fight her way into the Lu family, and she was only a woman. The important thing was that the Old Madam had a good heart and was a just and reasonable person. ¡°So Doctor Han is here too. I wonder how Han¡¯er is doing?¡± The Old Madam walked in and looked at Lu Han on the bed, and asked worriedly. ¡°Old Madam, please don¡¯t worry. I will do my best to treat him. But you have to take care of your health too.¡± The Old Madam¡¯s expression darkened when she heard Doctor Han¡¯s words. She knew that Lu Han¡¯s body was not in the most excellent condition. ¡°Sigh, forget it. Doctor Han, take a look at this medicine.¡± The Old Madam asked Doctor Han to bring the medicine bowl to him. Doctor Han leaned forward and sniffed it. His expression became strange. ¡°Old Madam, this is¡¡± ¡°Tongtong has been married into the Lu family for quite some time. We can¡¯t let Tongtong be lonely all the time.¡± Old Madam said. ¡°This medicine is harmless to the Young Master¡¯s health. Old Madam, please rest assured.¡± Doctor Han nodded. The Old Madam was even more relieved when she heard this. The more she thought about it when she returned yesterday, the more worried she became. Therefore, she decided to watch Lu Han drink the medicine today. ¡°Tongtong, come give Han¡¯er the medicine.¡± The Old Madam called out to Guan Tong. Guan Tong saw that the Old Madam was not planning to leave. She regurgitated in distress. It seemed that Lu Han could no longer avoid taking the herbal mixture that his grandmother prepared today. ¡°Yes, Grandmother.¡± Guan Tong obediently agreed. She smelled the medicine and felt a bit sick. She would find it even more difficult if she were to drink it. Lu Han found it hard to keep a straight face while being fed the medicine. ¡°Grandmother, it¡¯s done.¡± The Old Madam was relieved when she saw Lu Han drink it with her own eyes. ¡°Doctor Han, you must tell me immediately if anything happens to Han¡¯er. You also have a grandson. You would understand my concern.¡± The Old Madam was a little choked up when she said this. ¡°Your words are crystal clear. I promise to let you know immediately if something happens to Lu Han.¡± The doctor said to Old Madam. Liu Juan clenched her fists when Lu Han drank the herbal mixture. What if they succeed in waking up Lu Han? She was not going to give up today. After sending off the Old Madam with great difficulty, Lu Han suddenly opened his eyes as he lay on the bed. He felt the heat throughout his body. His grandmother¡¯s herbal mixture was indeed effective. ¡°Where are you going?¡± Guan Tong asked as Lu Han was about to get off the bed. ¡°What do you think?¡± Lu Han¡¯s eyes were filled with coldness. He was angered by Guan Tong¡¯s making him drink that repulsive herbal mixture. ¡°I can help you. You don¡¯t need to take a cold shower.¡± Guan Tong scratched her head with a serious expression. ¡°Are you sure you want to help me?¡± Lu Han paused and raised his eyebrows. His words were ambiguous to Guan Tong. She wasn¡¯t entirely sure what he meant. ¡°No, no, no. What I mean is that I can use acupuncture to help you neutralize the effects of the medicine. Taking a cold shower is not good for your body.¡± Guan Tong clarified her words. When Lu Han heard this, he agreed and laid back on the bed. Guan Tong picked up the needle. Lu Han tilted his head and could see Guan Tong¡¯s serious expression. He could not help but be stunned by her. During this short period they spent together, he felt like Guan Tong was genuine. ¡°It might be a little painful, but you have to bear with it.¡± No matter how painful the injury was, he had already suffered it. Why would he be afraid of a little poking needle? After Guan Tong said this, she placed the needle on Lu Han¡¯s back. ¡°Okay.¡± Sure enough, after placing a few needles, Lu Han groaned in pain. ¡°Endure it. Don¡¯t make any movement.¡± Guan Tong commanded. Lu Han did not move at all. He managed to endure the entire process. ¡°Okay, I¡¯ll pull it out later.¡± Guan Tong felt that this was the most difficult case she had encountered so far. Every time she placed a needle, she had to think carefully. ¡°Madam¡ you¡¡± Doctor Han did not care at first, but the more he looked at the end, the more he felt that something was wrong. Why did this acupuncture technique look so much like someone that he remembered? ¡°Doctor Han, it¡¯s just ordinary acupuncture.¡± Guan Tong said with a smile. Doctor Han was stunned when he heard Guan Tong¡¯s words. It seemed that Madam did not want others to know something, but perhaps he was mistaken. ¡°Madam is right. A few days ago, an old man like me had failed to recognize a great talent like her.¡± Doctor Han¡¯s attitude toward Guan Tong immediately became respectful. He was no longer being arrogant toward her. Doctor Han had practiced medicine for too long and had never met anyone more skilled than him. But now, he was outdone by a young girl. Moreover, he was also convinced that Guan Tong was a person with tremendous capability. ¡°Doctor Han, you¡¯re too kind. I¡¯ve only learned about it a little.¡± She said. Doctor Han knew that Guan Tong was modest, so he did not refute. On the contrary, Lu Han, who was on the bed, was surprised. He did not expect a girl like Guan Tong to have any skills. Moreover, Doctor Han also seemed to be hiding something behind his words.. Chapter 16 Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation Lu Han felt that his condition was much better now. He didn¡¯t expect this Guan Tong to have such a serious set of skills. ¡°How do you feel now?¡± Guan Tong asked. ¡°I¡¯m feeling alright. I just feel a little warm.¡± Lu Han¡¯s forehead was sweating. ¡°This is a normal reaction. Although your body is cold, there is also heat. In a while, you might feel a sense of hot and cold altogether. Bear with it, and it will pass.¡± As long as Lu Han could bear the pain this time, the next acupuncture session would be easier on him. ¡°Alright.¡± Lu Han grunted. He already felt the hot and cold sensation that Guan Tong warned him about but still answered her. Lu Han felt as if he had fallen into a nightmare. It was as if he had returned to his childhood. ¡°Mother¡¡± Lu Han vaguely saw the figure of his mother in front of him. He had not dreamed of his mother for a long time. But even though this occurrence happened and he knew it was a dream, he didn¡¯t want to wake up. ¡°Lu Han. Wake up, wake up!¡± Guan Tong saw that Lu Han had fallen asleep and quickly woke him up. He shouldn¡¯t have fallen asleep during the session. Someone was calling Lu Han with that familiar voice. Could it be her? Lu Han forced open his eyes and vaguely saw Guan Tong¡¯s figure. He was in a daze. ¡°Is that you?¡± He slowly reached out his hand. Guan Tong was a little speechless. She didn¡¯t know who Lu Han was talking about. ¡°It¡¯s me.¡± Guan Tong tried to wake Lu Han up from a daze. Lu Han came back to his senses and saw Guan Tong¡¯s disappointed face. It wasn¡¯t that woman. He also remembered to ask Uncle Tang how the investigation was going. ¡°Oh, it¡¯s you.¡± Lu Han woke up and replied to Guan Tong. ¡°Do you feel better now?¡± Guan Tong asked. She wondered what was going on with Lu Han¡¯s tone. Maybe he thought that her voice was his mother¡¯s? ¡°I feel a little better now.¡± Lu Han felt the uncomfortable feeling had been alleviated. Guan Tong heaved a sigh of relief. It was a good thing that Lu Han was relieved. ¡°Okay, I¡¯m going to pull out the needles.¡± Guan Tong said as she pulled out the first needle. Lu Han frowned. He thought Guan Tong must¡¯ve taken pleasure in torturing him as revenge as she pulled the needles out of his skin. ¡°Madam¡¡± Doctor Han was utterly convinced that he had seen Guan Tong¡¯s acupuncture techniques somewhere before, but he wasn¡¯t sure where and when he encountered this. ¡°Is everything alright, Doctor Han? I¡¯m afraid you¡¯ll have to lend me these needles for two days.¡± Guan Tong smiled. ¡°Of course, they¡¯re at your disposal, Madam.¡± Doctor Han respectfully replied. ¡°We¡¯ll talk about the other problems later.¡± Guan Tong wondered if Doctor Han had seen through her acupuncture technique? This spelled trouble. It would be better for her to convince the Doctor first. ¡°Yes, Madam.¡± Doctor Han was being tactful. After sending Doctor Han and Uncle Tang away, Guan Tong closed the door. ¡°You owe me a favor this time.¡± Guan Tong stretched lazily as she said to Lu Han. It was not tiring for her to perform acupuncture but quite challenging to concentrate under pressure like that. ¡°So, have you decided what you wanted from me, from our agreement?¡± Lu Han asked. ¡°Well, we¡¯ll talk about it when the time comes. Maybe I want tens of millions in cash.¡± Guan Tong jokingly said and made Lu Han scoff. He thought that she was indeed a shallow woman. ¡°What? Is the life of the Young Master not worth tens of millions?¡± Guan Tong said in surprise when she saw Lu Han¡¯s sarcastic expression. Lu Han facepalmed. He felt the need to rethink why he would keep someone this mouthy under the same roof. ¡°Shut up.¡± Lu Han said to Guan Tong with stern tones with his cold eyes. ¡°Oh.¡± Guan Tong obediently shut her mouth. ¡°But I still have something to tell you. Tomorrow morning, I have to get up early to fetch morning dew.¡± Guan Tong said not long after. ¡°Why do you have such a hobby?¡± Lu Han tilted his head in surprise. Guan Tong was furious at Lu Han¡¯s remark. Why would she need to get up so early if it wasn¡¯t for this arrogant man? ¡°Everything I do is all because of you.¡± Lu Han was stunned by Guan Tong¡¯s words. She did it all for him. ¡°So, what tools do you need?¡± He asked. ¡°I don¡¯t need any tools. Just let me go out tomorrow morning.¡± Although Guan Tong was allowed to visit the garden, she wasn¡¯t allowed anywhere else. ¡°That¡¯s easy. Uncle Tang, come in.¡± Lu Han called out for his butler. ¡°Yes, Young Master.¡± Uncle Tang walked in and answered respectfully. ¡°From now on, there¡¯s no need to report where Madam goes.¡± Not only was Uncle Tang stunned by his order, but Guan Tong was, too. Why was Lu Han this easy to deal with today? Perhaps he was feeling unwell? ¡°Yes, Young Master.¡± Uncle Tang accepted Lu Han¡¯s command, and Lu Han dismissed him. ¡°You may leave.¡± ¡°So, are you satisfied now?¡± Lu Han raised his eyebrows as he asked Guan Tang. ¡°Yes, thank you.¡± Guan Tong nodded repeatedly. It was almost too good to be true. ¡°But you still have to help me heal my illness, or I¡¯ll kill you.¡± Lu Han felt that he was a bit too presumptuous with Guan Tong. ¡°Of course, I¡¯ll cure you,¡± Guan Tong said obsequiously. Lu Han was delighted when he heard Guan Tong¡¯s words. He was also tired from Guan Tong¡¯s acupuncture just now, so he lay on the bed and quickly fell asleep. If Uncle Tang saw this, he would be surprised again. The Young Master never fell asleep that easily no matter how tired he was. Guan Tong turned to look at Lu Han. This man had become more and more incomprehensible each day they spent together.. Chapter 17 Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation Guan Tong woke up early the following day. The morning dew outside absorbed the essence of heaven and earth¡¯s spiritual energy from the moon and the sun the previous night. Medical practitioners would use the morning dew to soak the acupuncture needles. The morning dew couldn¡¯t be kept for long, or it would lose its potency. So, Guan Tong has to harvest it and use it the same day. ¡°Grandmother.¡± Guan Tong was collecting the dew when she unexpectedly ran into the Old Madam. ¡°Oh, it¡¯s you, Tongtong.¡± The Old Madam smiled happily when she saw Guan Tong. ¡°Grandmother, why are you up this early?¡± Guan Tong asked. ¡°Well, I¡¯m old, and I don¡¯t sleep well. So, I thought taking a walk might help.¡± She answered kindly. The Old Madam liked hardworking young people. She was also happy when she saw Guan Tong wake up this early. ¡°Doctor Han said the morning dew will nourish Lu Han¡¯s body, so I woke up early to gather some for him.¡± The Old Madam sighed when she heard Guan Tong¡¯s words. It seemed that the girl was looking out for Lu Han¡¯s best interest. ¡°My child, this must be hard on you.¡± The Old Madam took Guan Tong¡¯s hand and said. ¡°I should be doing this anyway.¡± Guan Tong was stunned by Old Madam¡¯s words, and she thought that Old Madam had been overthinking. ¡°What a good child.¡± The Old Madam sighed again. It was already past ten o¡¯clock when Guan Tong went back after collecting the dew. She also chatted with the Old Madam for a while. ¡°Are you up yet?¡± Guan Tong saw Lu Han bathing in the sunlight as soon as she entered. ¡°Look at the time. Why is he still sleeping?¡± She sighed. Guan Tong must have had a bad morning to be this bitter. ¡°I went to collect the morning dew for you.¡± Guan Tong said. ¡°I know.¡± Lu Han replied when Guan Tong heard his acknowledgment. She instantly felt better. ¡°I met the Old Madam while I was there.¡± Guan Tong said as she gathered the morning dew that she collected this morning. Lu Han raised his eyebrows. Grandmother usually wouldn¡¯t engage in a casual conversation. It seemed to him that Guan Tong must be pretty amicable. According to Uncle Tang, Grandmother smiled from ear to ear while talking to Guan Tong. ¡°I told you that it was Doctor Han who asked me to collect the dew.¡± Guan Tong wanted to take the opportunity to tell Lu Han and Doctor Han simultaneously so that she wouldn¡¯t let the cat out of the bag. ¡°Okay, got it.¡± Lu Han felt something strange going on with him lately. It was as if the girl had the power over his feelings and emotions these days. He thought it was a bad omen. ¡°I¡¯ll go to the study room to wake myself up a little.¡± Lu Han said. ¡°Oh, okay.¡± Guan Tong was now focused on studying the herbs in her hands, and she was not in the mood to give Lu Han much thought. She found the Purple Butterfly plant in the garden today, so she picked some of it on the way home. They were known to possess health benefits as well. ¡°Young Master, I got a result.¡± Lu Han¡¯s study room was secretive, and the whole castle was under his command, so he was naturally not worried about any secret being leaked. ¡°Who is she?¡± Lu Han¡¯s eyes flashed with urgency. ¡°That woman¡¯s stage name is Nightingale. She usually goes to the Midnight Bar on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. But for some reason, she hasn¡¯t been there for a few days. So, we had to ask the people who had been in contact with her. I also learned that Nightingale recently went to the slums¡¡± Uncle Tang did not understand why the Young Master would want to investigate this person. Moreover, he was also confused why the Young Master would be in touch with a person from the slums because these places were chaotic, and the people there were complicated. ¡°Nightingale?¡± A smile appeared in Lu Han¡¯s eyes. The woman¡¯s name was as lovely as her voice. ¡°Yes, Young Master. I sent someone there, but no one has seen Nightingale so far. ¡°Keep on investigating!¡± Lu Han didn¡¯t believe that a living person could just disappear out of the air. ¡°Yes, Young Master.¡± Uncle Tang saw Lu Han¡¯s reaction. It was undoubtedly clear that this woman was significant to the Young Master. He supposed she might have something to do with the night Young Master went out. ¡°No one is allowed to know about this ongoing investigation.¡± Lu Han¡¯s eyes were cold as he ordered. ¡°I understand.¡± Uncle Tang said. Lu Han sat on the chair, his fingers tapping on the desk. ¡®Nightingale, where are you?¡¯ he thought to himself. At the same time, Guan Tong was sweating profusely. The Purple Butterfly plant was adequate, but she wasn¡¯t sure if it would be too much for Lu Han. As soon as Lu Han came back, he saw Guan Tong¡¯s frowning face and the scar on her face that stood out. Lu Han could not help but have doubts in his heart. ¡°What are you researching now?¡± He gently asked. ¡°Of course, I¡¯m trying to cure your illness. I found the Purple Butterfly plant in the garden this morning. The herb is common, but it has medicinal properties. I¡¯ll look at the dosage again. They can fasten your healing progress.¡± Guan Tong explained. ¡°So, the scars on your face?¡± Guan Tong did not expect Lu Han to ask this question. She could not help but touch her face and felt the rough texture on her skin. ¡°When I was young, I fell off a cliff, and tree branches scratched up my face.¡± Guan Tong responded. Lu Han frowned and couldn¡¯t understand how a wealthy young lady like her could have fallen off a cliff. Even if she fell, why didn¡¯t the Lin family find a way to heal her injured face even if she fell? ¡°When I was young, I went to my grandmother¡¯s house and accidentally fell. The rural environment was not so kind to a young child, and medical help was hard to find, so I didn¡¯t get the help in time. After my parents learned about it, they also hired all kinds of well-known doctors, but it was too late. They couldn¡¯t fix me up.¡± She added. Lu Han paused. Seeing Guan Tong¡¯s sad doe eyes, he couldn¡¯t bear to push her any further with more questions. ¡°Oh, just go and ask Doctor Han if he can take a look at the scars for you.¡± He casually said.. Chapter 18 Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation ¡°Thank you, Young Master.¡± Guan Tong was stunned. Guan Tong grinned and said happily. When did Lu Han become so kind? At night, the Old Madam brought over the medicine as usual. Then, she watched Guan Tong feed the herbal mixture to Lu Han. Guan Tong sighed in her heart. Although her acupuncture could cure the injury, it was not a long-term solution. ¡°Tongtong, take good care of Han¡¯er. I¡¯ll leave you two be for now.¡± the Old Madam said to Guan Tong with a smile. ¡°Grandmother, please walk carefully on your way back.¡± Guan Tong did not want the Old Madam to stay, so she bid her farewell to Old Madam. Lu Han was already covered in sweat from pretending, so Guan Tong hurriedly started her acupuncture session. ¡°Bear with it.¡± ¡°Okay.¡± Lu Han said obediently. After Guan Tong started her session, not only did Lu Han sweat profusely but she was also covered in sweat. Even her clothes were drenched, and the bones on her back were showing through her clothes. ¡°Ugh!¡± At this moment, an accident happened. Lu Han had spat out a mouthful of black blood. ¡°Lu Han, what happened?¡± Guan Tong rushed forward. ¡°You lass, are you trying to kill me?¡± He jokingly said so. It was rare for Lu Han to have the mood to joke in moments like this. ¡°Don¡¯t worry. I won¡¯t let anything happen to you.¡± Guan Tong hurriedly applied the acupuncture needles on Lu Han. Guan Tong¡¯s words were simple. After all, Lu Han was her so-called patient. But who would know that these words would strike a heavy blow to Lu Han¡¯s heart? He thought about the person who said these words to him last time. It seemed to be his mother. As he thought of this, Lu Han lost consciousness. ¡°Uncle Tang, go and get Doctor Han over here as soon as possible!¡± Guan Tong shouted to the outside of the chamber. Uncle Tang was extremely anxious when he saw Lu Han vomiting blood, so he quickly brought Doctor Han to their chamber. ¡°Young Master! Madam. What is this¡¡± According to Doctor Han¡¯s thoughts, with Guan Tong around, Lu Han did not need to see him anymore, but what on earth happened today? ¡°Today, I specially invited Doctor Han to take a look. This way, everyone can feel more at ease.¡± Doctor Han understood what Guan Tong meant. She was asking him to be a witness. Moreover, Doctor Han saw that Guan Tong was not in a hurry. At this moment, the voice of the Old Madam was heard from outside. ¡°Oh my, what happened to my grandson?¡± The Old Madam almost fainted when she saw Lu Han¡¯s bloody vomit. ¡°Old Madam, don¡¯t worry. Just now, it was because¡¡± Doctor Han was about to mention the acupuncture when he received Guan Tong¡¯s gaze. Doctor Han was an intelligent person, and he understood what her gaze meant. Thus, he changed his words, ¡°Just now, when I was performing acupuncture on Young Master, he vomited out the bad blood that had accumulated for many years. It¡¯s not a big deal. Old Madam, please rest assured that Young Master will be fine.¡± When the Old Madam heard this, she was relieved. Fortunately, nothing happened to her precious grandson. ¡°Do you mean that Han¡¯er is getting better?¡± ¡°Logically speaking, this also depends on the Young Master¡¯s will to survive.¡± When the Old Madam heard Doctor Han¡¯s words, her expression dimmed again. Ever since that incident, she had been depressed. She was afraid that Lu Han wouldn¡¯t wake up. How could she live if he didn¡¯t? ¡°We must do our best to wake Han¡¯er up. Han¡¯er must wake up.¡± Old Madam said with a desperate tone. Liu Juan was delighted when she saw Lu Han vomit. Lu Han looked like he was about to die, but who knew it was the other way around. It seemed that her plans had to be brought ahead. She could not let Lu Han wake up from this state. What was wrong with the younger sibling¡¯s family? The Old Madam had always insisted that someone from the elder family be in charge of everything around here. ¡°Yes, Old Madam, don¡¯t worry. I will do my best.¡± ¡°Ahem, there¡¯s one more thing.¡± The Old Madam glanced at Guan Tong, which gave Guan Tong an awful feeling. ¡°That herbal mixture has been given to Han¡¯er for a few days already. Why isn¡¯t there any result, Tongtong?¡± As expected, the Old Madam asked Guan Tong the question she did not want to answer. Guan Tong wanted to cry when she heard the Old Madam¡¯s question. It had only been a few days, and she was already expected to get pregnant. Guan Tong was not a broodmare. She couldn¡¯t just get pregnant and give birth to an heir whenever she wished. Much worse, Lu Han and Guan Tong were anything but husband and wife. She didn¡¯t see how there was a chance for her to get pregnant. Doctor Han was stunned. He did not expect the Old Madam to ask this question to Guan Tong. He knew that the Old Madam was anxious, so he tried to comfort her. ¡°Old Madam, don¡¯t you worry. It¡¯s only been a few days.¡± ¡°Yes, that¡¯s true.¡± The Old Madam suppressed her anxious thoughts. ¡°Tongtong, you have to work harder.¡± The Old Madam patted Guan Tong¡¯s hand to encourage her. Guan Tong wanted to cry, but she couldn¡¯t. This matter was not something that she could not achieve from her hard work alone. ¡°Okay, Grandmother, I understand.¡± Lu Han, who was in bed, had already woken up. He had heard the conversation between Guan Tong and the Old Madam. When he thought of Guan Tong¡¯s distressed face, Lu Han wanted to laugh, but he could not expose himself yet and only managed to hold his laughter in. ¡°Mother, let¡¯s go back. Since Han¡¯er¡¯s condition has improved, we should leave the couple alone.¡± Liu Juan¡¯s words hit the Old Madam¡¯s heart. ¡°Okay, okay, okay. Let¡¯s go then.¡± The Old Madam walked away with Liu Juan with a big smile. ¡°Madam, the Young Master is fine now. I suppose I will leave now, too.¡± Doctor Han said to Guan Tong. ¡°Thank you for making this trip, Doctor Han.¡± With Doctor Han watching over her today, Guan Tong felt much more at ease. ¡°You are too kind, Madam.¡± Doctor Han said as he left.. Chapter 19 Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation Doctor Han truly admired Guan Tong for having such superb medical skills at a young age. ¡°Alright, stop pretending. She¡¯s already gone.¡± Guan Tong had already noticed that Lu Han had woken up. This arrogant man was looking at her like she was a clown. ¡°Your medical skills are not bad.¡± Lu Han felt much better. Guan Tong rolled her eyes. Even a blind man could tell that her medical skills were good. Lu Han was shocked when he saw Guan Tong roll her eyes. Why did Guan Tong¡¯s actions look so similar to that woman¡¯s? What was the relationship between the two? And where did Guan Tong¡¯s medical skills come from? Lu Han knew about the substitute marriage, yet he still chose to keep Guan Tong by his side. Lu Han did not care who Guan Tong was, as long as she didn¡¯t cause any problems for him. However, if Guan Tong were related to that woman, it would be an entirely different story. ¡°Who exactly are you?¡± Lu Han¡¯s expression turned stern as he asked her. Guan Tong felt that the man in front of her was crazy. How could he suddenly turn aggressive in an instant like this? ¡°I¡¯m Lin Fei. Oh, at the same time, I¡¯m your savior.¡± Guan Tong nodded. She felt that what she said was correct. Lu Han was speechless. He knew that this girl wasn¡¯t telling the truth. However, since Guan Tong had saved his life, he wouldn¡¯t mind letting it slide for now. At the same time, in the other castle. ¡°Lu Han¡¯s illness is almost cured.¡± Liu Juan¡¯s voice was heard through her gritting teeth. A man¡¯s voice was heard on the other side, ¡°Cured? How is that possible? That poison was a strong one. Even the Gods couldn¡¯t save him.¡± ¡°Just believe what I say. I saw Lu Han spit out a mouthful of black blood with my own eyes. Doctor Han said that as long as Lu Han¡¯s willpower is strong, he will wake up from his comatose state soon.¡± Liu Juan explained in full detail. ¡°Then let¡¯s weaken his willpower. In any case, we can¡¯t let him wake up from his comatose state.¡± If Lu Han were to wake up, Liu Juan would never achieve her goals in the younger sibling family. ¡°How about we go all out¡¡± Liu Juan had the same thought as the man on the phone. ¡°What do you have in mind? How many people have you sent, and did any single one of them achieve your goal?¡± Liu Juan had sent people to assassinate Lu Han before, but he was intelligent and cunning. He walled himself up in the iron. Anyone that Liu Juan sent found it difficult even to enter his chamber in the first place. ¡°Then what do you think we should do?¡± Liu Juan was flustered and desperate for a solution. ¡°Alright, let¡¯s do it then.¡± Liu Juan hung up the phone. It seemed that she had to find Qiao Ran. She hoped that the girl would succeed in seducing Lu Han. Even if Liu Juan could not kill Lu Han, Liu Juan could plant a spy by his side. A few days passed. Guan Tong¡¯s life was peaceful. However, the incident of hearing Liu Juan¡¯s phone call in the garden that day had always been stuck in her head. She was not afraid of her enemies that came face-to-face, but she was scared that her enemies were in the dark. Guan Tong couldn¡¯t tell when Liu Juan would make her move. ¡°What are you thinking about?¡± Lu Han¡¯s physical condition had improved a lot after a few days of acupuncture. At the very least, he no longer had that pale complexion that he used to. ¡°Nothing.¡± Guan Tong answered nonchalantly. Lu Han put down the book in his hand. Was Guan Tong losing weight these past few days? Why did he feel that her face had got bony and her cheeks all sunken? Lu Han was already used to seeing the scars on Guan Tong¡¯s face at this point, so it was not his greatest concern. ¡°Do you think Grandmother will visit us again?¡± Guan Tong had a feeling that Old Madam would show up again today. At the mention of the Old Madam, Lu Han also clutched his forehead. Grandmother¡¯s obsession with her great-grandson was unbelievable. Speaking of the Devil, the Old Madam suddenly came into their chamber. ¡°Tongtong, look who I brought with me.¡± Old Madan said as Doctor Han followed her into the room. ¡°Quick, have a look at my granddaughter-in-law.¡± The Old Madam was overjoyed. She could no longer wait for an answer. Today was the day she wanted to know about her grandson. Doctor Han went forward to check Guan Tong¡¯s pulse. ¡°To answer Old Madam¡¯s question¡¡± Doctor Han said as he held Guan Tong¡¯s wrist in his hand. The Old Madam¡¯s gaze was burning. ¡°Madam is not yet pregnant.¡± Doctor Han said these words with great difficulty under Old Madam¡¯s pressure. Sure enough, the light in the Old Madam¡¯s eyes dimmed after she heard the disappointing news. ¡°Old Madam, please don¡¯t worry. The Young Master and Madam are still young. There are plenty of opportunities.¡± Doctor Han said. ¡°Hmm, alright. Could it be that one of you is infertile?¡± Old Madam had doubts in her heart. Guan Tong¡¯s hair almost stood on end. She was afraid that Madam might suspect that she was infertile. ¡°Old Madam, please don¡¯t overthink of it. We just need to recuperate Young Master¡¯s conditions. And he wouldn¡¯t need to take more herbal mixtures for the time being.¡± Doctor Han knew the inside story of this matter and thought that if he could get rid of the herbal mixtures fed to Lu Han daily, he would. ¡°Hmm, okay then.¡± Old Madam finally decided to put her faith in Doctor Han. Suddenly, the Old Madam¡¯s face turned pale. Did Doctor Han just say that Han¡¯er might be infertile? ¡°Then you have to take care of Han¡¯er and Tongtong¡¯s health from them to conceive a baby as soon as possible.¡± As she spoke, she looked at Guan Tong with compassion. This kind of gaze made Guan Tong a little confused. What was wrong with the Old Madam today? Why was she always looking at her like this? On the other hand, Liu Juan was overjoyed that Lu Han didn¡¯t have a child, so she and the girl still had a slight chance of winning. ¡°Don¡¯t worry, Old Madam.¡± Doctor Han didn¡¯t know what he had said wrong.. Why was Old Madam looking at him like this? Chapter 20 - It Was Her, Afterall? Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation ¡°Then I¡¯ll go back first.¡± The Old Madam looked quite lonely as she walked out for some reason. After the Old Madam left, Doctor Han was also leaving. ¡°Young Master, if there¡¯s nothing else, I¡¯ll also leave.¡± ¡°Ugh¡¡± Lu Han groaned and was unwilling to utter a word. ¡°Why are you still standing here then?¡± Lu Han only felt that his heart was in distress, so he pouted at Guan Tong. ¡°Nothing.¡± Guan Tong looked at him with disdain, she felt as if Lu Han was having that time of the month like a woman or something, so she ignored him. Lu Han¡¯s eyes widened. He spoiled this girl so much that she dared to look at him with that annoyed look on her face. Guan Tong knew that Lu Han¡¯s condition had improved, but she didn¡¯t let her guard down. After all, this was a critical moment for her. ¡°How long do you plan to pretend to be in a coma for?¡± This was a question Guan Tong had always been curious about. Lu Han being in a comatose state meant that everyone would be eyeing him covetously. ¡°It¡¯s not good for you to know too much.¡± Although Lu Han said harsh words to Guan Tong, he showed no signs of aggressiveness towards her. ¡°Oh, I¡¯m just asking because I¡¯m bored here.¡± Guan Tong shrugged. ¡°You won¡¯t be so bored if Liu Juan makes her move in a few days.¡± Lu Han scoffed. ¡°Huh, you know about that?¡± Guan Tong was a little surprised. But on second thought, there was probably nothing in the castle that Lu Han did not know, even though he had been pretending to be in a comatose state for so many years. ¡°You must be very observant.¡± Guan Tong did not forget to refute Lu Han. Lu Han smiled slightly when he heard Guan Tong¡¯s mocking tone. These few days, she had gotten used to having this girl by his side. Sometimes she could be noisy, and sometimes she¡¯s quiet. But Lu Han¡¯s heart was struggling. No matter how similar Guan Tong¡¯s actions were to that woman, she wasn¡¯t her. ¡°I¡¯m going to take a shower.¡± Lu Han lifted the blanket and was about to get out of bed. ¡°Wait a minute. You can¡¯t take a shower today. You¡¯ll catch a cold again, and all the acupuncture work that I did for you would be completely useless.¡± Guan Tong stopped him. Lu Han raised his eyebrows and wondered if Guan Tong lied as she wasn¡¯t mad or tried to stop him last night when he showered. ¡°Don¡¯t doubt me. I have medical knowledge. Even Doctor Han trusts me.¡± Guan Tong said with a severe tone. She wouldn¡¯t dare repeat this intentionally. ¡°Okay.¡± Lu Han agreed. Guan Tong felt strange when she saw Lu Han lying down obediently. She didn¡¯t know why he was easy on her today. In the blink of an eye, it was the following day. Guan Tong went to gather the morning dew as usual. The moment Guan Tong closed the door, Lu Han opened his eyes. ¡°How was it?¡± Just as Lu Han finished speaking, a masked man suddenly appeared. His face was hard to make out. That man was none other than Lu Han¡¯s shadow. The Shadow knelt on one knee. ¡°Master, I¡¯ve found the woman¡¯s name.¡± ¡°What¡¯s her name?¡± Lu Han¡¯s eyes lit up as he excitedly asked. ¡°Her name is Guan Tong.¡± The Shadow answered. Lu Han was shocked by the answer. Why did the woman have the same name as that wretched girl talking nonsense to him these past few days? Lu Han thought they had the same name, but it was impossible. Guan Tong¡¯s characteristics were too similar to the woman. ¡°And who is she?¡± Lu Han still needed confirmation. ¡°Lin Tian¡¯s niece, Lin Tian, is her uncle.¡± The Shadow replied. Lu Han was surprised. They matched, they matched perfectly. Lu Han suppressed the shock in his heart. Guan Tong and that woman were the same people! ¡°I got it.¡± Lu Han waved his hand, indicating that The Shadow could leave now. Lu Han pressed his chest and recalled everything that night at the bar. Her beautiful face, graceful body, adorable tiny movements, charming eyes, everything about her made his heart skip a beat. After that night, Guan Tong left without saying a word, causing him to go crazy looking for that woman. It turned out that the woman he had been standing right in front of him and he didn¡¯t even realize it. He threatened to kill her. However, Guan Tong¡¯s actions and mannerisms that he noticed daily had already proven everything. It proved that the two were indeed the same person. ¡°Why do you look like you¡¯re in a daze?¡± When Guan Tong returned, she saw Lu Han sitting on the bed, confused. No one could tell what he was thinking about. Lu Han looked at Guan Tong, who was facing the sun and his heart warmed out. He had a hunch that Guan Tong would stay by his side initially, but he didn¡¯t know why Guan Tong¡¯s face looked different from what he saw in his suspicion. ¡°I¡¯m not thinking about anything.¡± Lu Han looked at the woman in front of him, and his eyes were about to be blinded by her. It seemed that Guan Tong still had more secrets that he did not know. Lu Han did not plan to tell Guan Tong his newfound knowledge of her. Guan Tong did not seem to remember him anymore. Lu Han could not help but smile bitterly that the girl he always longed for didn¡¯t even have a memory of him. Guan Tong wasn¡¯t sure what had happened to Lu Han today. She was confused by his gentle expression. ¡°I just saw Old Madam, and she said she will come and visit us in a few days.¡± It seemed that the matter of her grandson had made her impatient. ¡°It¡¯s time to go back.¡± Lu Han smiled calmly, but his eyes were fixated on Guan Tong. They were the same person. He wondered why he hadn¡¯t seen it all this time? ¡°Did you take the wrong medication today or something?¡± Guan Tong boldly touched Lu Han¡¯s head, but he did not have a fever. Her fingers were warm, just like that woman. Lu Han was utterly dumbfounded.. Chapter 21 - Establishing Prestige Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation Although Guan Tong felt that Lu Han had been acting a little strange these past few days, she didn¡¯t give it too much thought. Guan Tong had no memories of the day that they met at all. All she knew was that Lu Han had been improving his behavior toward her lately. ¡°Young Master, Second Madam has brought Miss Qiao over.¡± Uncle Tang said to Lu Han as he walked in. Miss Qiao? Guan Tong¡¯s ears twitched. Was it a woman? Lu Han could not help but laugh when he saw Guan Tong¡¯s quick-witted look. She immediately told Uncle Tang to let them in. ¡°At once.¡± Not long after, Uncle Tang brought her in. As Qiao Ran was inside their chamber, Guan Tong sized her up carefully. She was indeed a beauty, a kind of beauty that would invoke guys around to protect and guard her with their lives. ¡°Brother Han¡¡± Qiao Ran saw Lu Han lying on the bed with red eyes. He looked like a shriveled pear. Guan Tong felt uneasy when she heard Qiao Ran¡¯s sweet voice. ¡°This must be my new Sister.¡± Qiao Ran saw the disgust in Guan Tong¡¯s heart. How could such an ugly monster be worthy of her Brother Han? Guan Tong raised her eyebrows. Guan Tong usually behaved like a little white rabbit in front of Lu Han, but at that time, she knew she had to defend her rights in the Lu family. Although she was brought over to this arranged marriage, she was the only young mistress of this family. ¡°I don¡¯t remember having a sister.¡± Guan Tong smiled sweetly, but her words made Qiao Ran¡¯s face pale. How could Guan Tong be willing to let her call the woman in front of her sister? ¡°Sister, you must be joking. You¡¯re married to Brother Han, and we¡¯re family.¡± Qiao Ran smiled, but she was reluctant no matter how Guan Tong looked at it. ¡°Miss Qiao, don¡¯t joke around. Our surname is Lu.¡± Guan Tong reminded Qiao Ran, and her face turned pale. Qiao Ran thought that although this woman was ugly, she had a sharp tongue. Guan Tong made sure Qiao Ran knew that she was the one who married Lu Han, and Qiao Ran was not a part of the family. However, Guan Tong¡¯s words also offended Liu Juan since her surname wasn¡¯t Lu. ¡°How can you speak like this?¡± Qiao Ran was brought here by Liu Juan, so she felt the need to defend Qiao Ran too. Guan Tong quickly pretended to be surprised and covered her mouth. ¡°Aunty, I¡¯m not talking about you. I¡¯m just afraid that a villain will deceive you.¡± ¡°Who are you calling a villain?¡± Qiao Ran had only met people who criticized her indirectly and never experienced a brief comment from someone like Guan Tong. ¡°You¡¯re a poor girl from the countryside. You¡¯re just lucky to have the opportunity to be married to Brother Han!¡± Qiao Ran was extremely angry to the point of losing her crafted composure. ¡°Are you saying that I¡¯m not worthy enough to be married to Lu Han?¡± Guan Tong¡¯s eyes reddened. She didn¡¯t like the feeling of being looked down upon. ¡°Qiao Ran, who are you talking about?¡± At this moment, the Old Madam¡¯s voice was suddenly heard. ¡°Grandmother.¡± Guan Tong wiped the corner of her mouth with her hand. The Old Madam saw Guan Tong¡¯s aggravated look, and the crutch in her hand hit the ground hard. ¡°Qiao Ran, who were you talking about? Do you need to come here and gossip about my family¡¯s matters?¡± Qiao Ran¡¯s heart trembled when she saw the Old Madam¡¯s stern look. Old Madam had always been talking kindly to her. She¡¯d never seen Old Madam talking like this before. But today, Qiao Ran was scolded by Old Madam for talking down on an ugly girl. Liu Juan had seen Guan Tong¡¯s usual docility and the Old Madam¡¯s fondness for Guan Tong. She tugged at the corner of Qiao Ran¡¯s clothes. ¡°Sister-in-law, of course, it was my fault. Please accept my apologies.¡± Qiao Ran sniffled. This girl was intelligent. Guan Tong could not help but look at Qiao Ran differently. Qiao Ran was not just an empty vessel for Liu Juan¡¯s bidding. ¡°Miss Qiao, don¡¯t overthink of it. I¡¯m not blaming you.¡± Guan Tong knew to stop when things were normal. Otherwise, she would leave an impression of being unreasonable and unforgiving in front of the Old Madam. The Old Madam was very satisfied with Guan Tong¡¯s reaction, and Guan Tong also knew that Old Madam¡¯s impression on her was far more important than winning a fight. ¡°Alright, it¡¯s true that Ranran is being juvenile and insensible. The next time I hear you disrespecting Tongtong, don¡¯t blame me for being unkind.¡± Old Madam said. ¡°Grandmother, I won¡¯t dare offend you again. Please don¡¯t get angry with me.¡± Qiao Ran held the Old Madam¡¯s arm and acted coquettishly. Qiao Ran had heard of the Old Madam¡¯s injunction, and she was immediately afraid of what Old Madam would do. Qiao Ran was a cousin of Liu Juan¡¯s family. She was pretty and sweet-tongued. When she was young, Liu Juan often brought her to the Lu family, so the Old Madam and Qiao Ran would spend time together. No matter what, Qiao Ran was still a child who grew up under Old Madam¡¯s care. The Old Madam knew that Qiao Ran liked Lu Han, so she had the idea of letting the two of them get married. Lu Han fell into a coma, and the plan was scrapped. Old Madam also needed a woman born on cloudy days to marry Lu Han voluntarily, so she had no choice but to forget that planned marriage. Now, it seemed that the Taoist priest was right. After Old Madam followed the prophecies, Lu Han¡¯s conditions improved. ¡°That¡¯s good. Tongtong, don¡¯t fuss about it.¡± The Old Madam patted Guan Tong¡¯s hand to comfort her. Guan Tong¡¯s goal had already been achieved. Presumably, Liu Juan and Qiao Ran would be more considerate after the fight. In addition, the Old Madam had a good impression of her, so Guan Tong did not want to dig deeper with Qiao Ran. ¡°Yes, Grandmother.¡± Guan Tong said. ¡°How is Han¡¯er today?¡± The Old Madam¡¯s eyes showed great concern. ¡°Grandmother, I just gave Lu Han some medicine today.¡± Guan Tong answered.. Chapter 22 - Return to Lin family Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation ¡°Little girl, you¡¯ve worked so hard.¡± The Old Madam sighed and patted Guan Tong¡¯s hand. ¡°Grandmother, it¡¯s not that difficult. This is what I should be doing anyway. I¡¯m married to Lu Han. I¡¯ll be his wife for the rest of my life. I have to take care of him.¡± Guan Tong held the Old Madam¡¯s hand. Lying on the bed, Lu Han felt a sense of happiness in his heart when he heard Guan Tong¡¯s words. He could not wait to get up and hug Guan Tong and kiss her. Not only that his heart was beating, something happened too. The Old Madam noticed something as she and Guan Tong were talking at that moment. ¡°Look, did Lu Han¡¯s finger move just now?¡± Guan Tong was surprised. Perhaps, Lu Han couldn¡¯t hold his excitement anymore. Maybe he was happy that he saw Qiao Ran? ¡°Quick, quick! Get Doctor Han over here now!¡± Old Madam yelled out. Lu Han was quite annoyed as he had almost exposed himself. ¡°Yes, Old Madam.¡± Uncle Tang quickly brought Doctor Han inside. ¡°Doctor Han, quick! His finger moved just now.¡± Old Madam quickly told the doctor what had happened. When they saw Doctor Han¡¯s examination, everyone¡¯s hearts were in their throats. But the reason for their excitement was different from each other. ¡°How is he?¡± Old Madam asked nervously. ¡°Young Master¡¯s finger moving is an obvious sign of improvement.¡± Doctor Han stated. Old Madam was beaming with joy, and tears filled her eyes. ¡°Good. That¡¯s very good¡¡± As long as there¡¯s a chance, Old Madam would¡¯ve given up anything for her grandson to wake up again. ¡°Madam, you can also take Young Master out for a walk more often to improve the possibility of him regaining his consciousness,¡± Doctor Han said to Guan Tong, and she was stunned. Was this Lu Han¡¯s idea? For her to take him out for a walk more often? ¡°Yes, then I¡¯ll take him out for a walk every day.¡± Guan Tong promised. She finally heaved a sigh of relief after sending everyone away with incredible difficulty. ¡°What were you thinking? All that effort and hard work just to be exposed like that?¡± Guan Tong was puzzled. She suspected that Lu Han must¡¯ve been so excited to see Qiao Ran that he almost blew his plan. ¡°Was Qiao Ran the woman of your dreams?¡± Guan Tong suddenly felt that it was a mistake to quarrel with Qiao Ran. Lu Han probably almost blew his cover because of his anger that she was fighting with that woman. ¡°Stop talking nonsense.¡± Lu Han immediately refuted Guan Tong. He didn¡¯t understand where she got that idea from and couldn¡¯t bear her irrational thoughts anymore. However, Guan Tong refused to believe that that wasn¡¯t the case. The only difference today was that Qiao Ran had come to visit. It seemed that the two of them were in love, but Guan Tong was in their way. ¡°Don¡¯t worry. I won¡¯t get in between you and Qiao Ran.¡± Guan Tong tried to reassure. Lu Han was facepalming himself with confusion. He didn¡¯t understand Guan Tong¡¯s meaning by getting between him and Qiao Ran. ¡°I was just establishing my position. After all, I¡¯m still your wife.¡± Guan Tong explained. ¡°You¡¡± Lu Han was about to speak when he heard someone knocking on the door. ¡°Young Master. Madam. The Lin family has sent a letter. They say that Old Madam Lin is sick, and they want Madam to go back.¡± Uncle Tang said. The news tightened Guan Tong¡¯s heart. What happened to her grandmother? On the other hand, Lu Han had already found out Guan Tong¡¯s identity, so he naturally knew how much her grandmother meant to Guan Tong. ¡°We¡¯ll leave for the Lin family tomorrow.¡± Lu Han replied. ¡°Go back to the Lin family?¡± Guan Tong was puzzled. ¡°Isn¡¯t Old Madam Lin sick?¡± Lu Han saw Guan Tong¡¯s eager eyes and coughed a few times unnaturally. Even Uncle Tang could see that Lu Han was uncomfortable. ¡°Thank you.¡± Guan Tong felt grateful and she wanted to thank Lu Han. ¡°Cough! Cough!¡± Lu Han used his fist to cover his mouth but still showed signs that he was in a good mood. ¡ ¡°Who does that ugly woman think she is? How dare she talk to me like that?¡± When she returned to the chamber, Qiao Ran flew into a rage and threw a clutter of things onto the floor. ¡°Who should we blame then? Isn¡¯t it yourself for being so incompetent?¡± Liu Juan sneered at the corner of Qiao Ran¡¯s chamber. ¡°Aunty, how could you say that to me? You were supposed to help me!¡± Qiao Ran tugged on Liu Juan¡¯s hand and said deviously. ¡°Of course, I will help you, but you have to do your best. The Old Madam will be back in a few days. Whether you can continue your stay here or not depends on your ability.¡± Liu Juan replied. ¡°Aunty, I want to work hard, but that ugly woman is too much of an eyesore. Should we¡¡± Qiao Ran hated Guan Tong to the bone. ¡°Give up on that idea for now. Didn¡¯t you see how the Old Madam was protecting that ugly girl today?¡± Liu Juan ended Qiao Ran¡¯s idea. Of course, Qiao Ran saw it too. But she was still unwilling to give up. ¡°Then what should we do?¡± Qiao Ran gritted her teeth. ¡°All we can do now is wait, and you have to try your best to creep into Lu Han¡¯s life.¡± By then, Qiao Ran would become the most potent weapon of Liu Juan. ¡ ¡°What? Go back to the Lin Family?¡± The Old Madam frowned. She wasn¡¯t sure that Lu Han would be able to travel. ¡°Old Madam, you don¡¯t have to worry. By going outside, we can improve Lu Han¡¯s health conditions.¡± Doctor Han said. ¡°Then you have to follow Han¡¯er closely.¡± The Old Madam said with wariness in her facial expression. Doctor Han had always been loyal to the Lu family, so he carefully followed Old Madam¡¯s instructions. ¡°Old Madam, please rest assured.¡± Doctor Han knew what was going on, so Lu Han¡¯s wellbeing wasn¡¯t his most significant concern. ¡°Alright then. In that case, let¡¯s go inside now.¡± the Old Madam said to Liu Juan. Liu Juan panicked when she heard the Old Madam¡¯s words.. She could go back in by herself, but what about Qiao Ran? Chapter 23 - Is She Coming Too? Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation ¡°Mother, please let Tongtong and Han¡¯er take Qiao Ran with them. It¡¯s been a long time since Qiao Ran has gone out. She would be under their supervision.¡± Liu Juan said. The Old Madam paused. What Liu Juan said was true, but she was worried whether Guan Tong would agree to this arrangement. ¡°Grandmother, I¡¯m not sure if I would be able to take care of two people at the same time.¡± Guan Tong did not care whether Qiao Ran would be there or not, but she didn¡¯t want any trouble. ¡°Ranran is already a grown-up. You don¡¯t need to worry about her. She can even help you take care of Han¡¯er. Wouldn¡¯t that be great?¡± Liu Juan was adamant that Guan Tong take Qiao Ran to visit her family. ¡°Yes, sister-in-law. I can take care of myself, and I can also help you take care of Brother Han too.¡± Naturally, Qiao Ran also wanted to go with Lu Han. ¡°Then I¡¯ll listen to Grandmother¡¯s wishes.¡± Guan Tong said obediently. ¡°Then let Ranran go with you. At least there¡¯s one more person there to help out.¡± the Old Madam made her decision and gave Guan Tong her order. ¡°Yes, Grandmother.¡± Guan Tong agreed. ¡°Thank you, Grandmother!¡± Qiao Ran was thrilled. As long as she was away from the Old Madam¡¯s side, that ugly girl would not be at her mercy. The easiest route for them to get to the family home from the castle to the Lin family home was by plane. Qiao Ran was fuming during their journey. Even after her effort to follow the couple, she didn¡¯t even get a glimpse of Lu Han¡¯s face. Instead, she was arranged to another lounge with soundproofing. She couldn¡¯t hear what Lu Han and Guan Tong were doing. Meanwhile, Guan Tong was munching on snacks. For some reason, Guan Tong felt that Lu Han treated her exceptionally well these past few days. He often made sure that her meals and snacks were readily available. ¡°What do you plan to do with Qiao Ran?¡± Since the two of them were somewhat in love, Guan Tong felt that she should be more sensible and make room for them. ¡°What do you mean?¡± Lu Han asked, and Guan Tong felt she might have misunderstood their relationship. ¡°Do we have to bring Qiao Ran along?¡± Guan Tong was not worried about anything else, but she felt that Qiao Ran was too much trouble. ¡°If we really can¡¯t make it possible, we can just kill her.¡± Lu Han proposed. ¡®What?¡¯ When Guan Tong heard Lu Han¡¯s words, she immediately felt that this arrogant man was not only treacherous but vicious too. ¡°We¡¯ll get to see your grandmother soon.¡± Lu Han was afraid of scaring the feisty girl in front of him, so he quickly changed the topic. Guan Tong¡¯s face was full of question marks. This was her grandmother. Why would Lu Han even care about the old woman in the first place? While thinking of her sick grandmother, Guan Tong¡¯s expression darkened. ¡°I wonder how she is doing.¡± ¡°Don¡¯t overthink. She¡¯ll be fine.¡± It was rare for Guan Tong to experience any comfort from Lu Han like this. ¡°We¡¯ll be with the Lin family in a while. Don¡¯t worry. I¡¯ll be there with you.¡± Lu Han added. Guan Tong was stunned when she heard Lu Han¡¯s words. How long had it been since she heard something this kind and caring? ¡°Thank you.¡± Guan Tong lowered her head. A strand of hair fell down her neck. Lu Han wanted to tuck her hair in, but he feared. She that he would scare the girl away. Knock! Knock! Knock! At that moment, there was a knock on the door. Guan Tong opened the door and saw Qiao Ran. ¡°Sister-in-law, I saw that the medicine was ready, so I brought it here for Brother Han.¡± Guan Tong sighed. ¡®Oh, what a good samaritan?¡¯ Before Guan Tong could say anything, Qiao Ran pushed inside the door. ¡®Must be nice to be that thin and small, I guess.¡¯ Guan Tong sarcastically thought to herself. ¡°Brother Han.¡± Qiao Ran tried to wake Lu Han Up, but he didn¡¯t wake up. A hint of disappointment flashed in Qiao Ran¡¯s eyes. ¡°Sister-in-law, you¡¯ve been busy all day. Let me give Brother Han the medicine.¡± She asked Guan Tong. Although Guan Tong did not like Qiao Ran, she was willing to bear the burden, so Guan Tong didn¡¯t stop her. ¡°Okay.¡± As Guan Tong said that, she sat down. Qiao Ran finally had an opportunity. As long as she acted the right way, she couldn¡¯t imagine how Lu Han would choose that ugly freak over her. ¡°Eh, why won¡¯t he swallow the medicine?¡± Qiao Ran fed him a few mouthfuls and found that the medicine was flowing down from the corner of Lu Han¡¯s mouth. Guan Tong looked up. It seemed that Lu Han did not want Qiao Ran to feed him. ¡°Just put the medicine over there. I¡¯ll do it later.¡± Guan Tong was not planning on feeding Lu Han. She would just make him drink it himself after Qiao Ran goes away. Qiao Ran bit her lips and refused to give up. ¡°I¡¯ll try again.¡± This time, it was a big waste. Qiao Ran wasted even a more considerable amount of medicine in a bowl. ¡°You¡¯re just wasting the medicine. Now they¡¯ll have to make another bowl.¡± Although Lu Han had everything on his private plane, he could not waste it like this. Qiao Ran had no choice but to give up. She placed the medicine bowl on the table by the side. Qiao Ran thought that Lu Han did not seem to be conscious. She turned back and stared at Guan Tong. ¡°Don¡¯t put on a show. When Brother Han wakes up, he¡¯ll kick you out faster than a heartbeat.¡± Qiao Ran sneered. Guan Tong raised her eyebrows. Lu Han would chase her away when he woke up? ¡°Then how is it any of your business?¡± Since Qiao Ran did not want to pretend anymore, Guan Tong felt she did not have to be polite to her either. As for Lu Han, he wasn¡¯t someone who could be controlled. ¡°You! Ugh!¡± Qiao Ran stomped her foot and slammed the door before leaving. Guan Tong shrugged. ¡°This young lady of your family is hard to please.¡± ¡°Don¡¯t spout nonsense, you lass. She¡¯s not from our family.¡± Lu Han opened his eyes and wiped the corner of his mouth. He was spewing out the medicine because he didn¡¯t want Qiao Ran to feed him. ¡°Drink it yourself.¡± Right now, Guan Tong¡¯s mind was only occupied with her grandmother. Lu Han saw that Guan Tong was in a bad mood, so he obediently drank the medicine. Soon, the plane landed in the Capital Airport.. Chapter 24 - Alive and Well Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation ¡°I¡¯m going in there. Just text me your location later, and I¡¯ll meet you later.¡± Guan Tong said to Lu Han. ¡°I¡¯ll go in there with you.¡± Lu Han said. ¡°What?¡± Guan Tong was confused. She didn¡¯t know why Lu Han would want to meet the Lin family or what his plan was. ¡°What? You don¡¯t want me to go in there? They¡¯re my in-laws, and I have to go greet them.¡± Lu Han insisted as he got off the plane. Guan Tong could not change Lu Han¡¯s mind. Since this man wanted to go, then he could come with her. If something were to happen, it was beyond her control. ¡°Uncle Tang, bring the wheelchair over.¡± She could not carry Lu Han, so he had to be taken in a wheelchair. ¡°Let¡¯s settle Miss Qiao down first.¡± Qiao Ran did not see Guan Tong and Lu Han when they got off the plane. She was furious that nobody had told her what was going on. Uncle Tang quickly drove the car to the Lin family. Even though the Lin family was a prominent figure in Beijing, they were not as prestigious as the Lu family. Not by a long shot. The housekeeper of the Lin family was watering the flowers outside. He saw a Lincoln parked outside with a Beijing license plate. ¡°Excuse me¡¡± The housekeeper of the Lin family walked over and asked. Uncle Tang got out of the car and calmly announced their presence. ¡°The Lu family is here.¡± These two simple words stunned the Lin family¡¯s housekeeper. Of course, he knew about the Lu family. The housekeeper of the Lin family pretended to be calm. ¡°Please wait a moment. I will go in and let Madam know.¡± The housekeeper looked calm, but his footsteps were a little unsteady. ¡°Madam, Madam¡¡± A frantic noise was heard by Zhang Lin, who was sitting on a sofa. She was drinking tea and reading her newspaper. ¡°What¡¯s wrong? Why are you so freaked out?¡± Zhang Lin was in a good mood today. She frowned when she saw the housekeeper¡¯s flustering actions. ¡°Someone¡ someone from the Lu family is here.¡± The housekeeper said. ¡°The Lu family? Which of them? Zhang Lin paused. She was guessing which member from the Lu family decided to visit her. ¡°Quick, quick, quick. Is that ugly girl here alone, or is the Young Master of the Lu family here also?¡± Not only was Zhang Lin flustered, but the housekeeper was in a total panic as well. ¡°I¡¯m sorry, Madam. I don¡¯t know. I couldn¡¯t see clearly!¡± ¡°D*mn it!!¡± Zhang Lin cursed. It would have been easier if that ugly girl had come alone. However, Zhang Lin changed her mind. So what if Lu Han came with her? After all, he was in a comatose state¡ª he was paralyzed! With this thought, Zhang Lin regained her composure. ¡°Bring her in.¡± ¡°Yes, Madam.¡± The housekeeper replied. Uncle Tang was impatient waiting outside. This Lin family was only a small family, yet they dared to make the Young Master wait for so long. However, he remembered that the Lin family was the Madam¡¯s family after all. ¡°Don¡¯t worry, it¡¯s fine. I¡¯m here by your side. This is your first-time returning home, so you should have someone accompanying you. However, they¡¯re being discourteous. Let¡¯s wait for the next time. I¡¯ll teach them some manners.¡± Guan Tong was stunned. She didn¡¯t expect Lu Han to say such words. He made her feel warm, which made Guan Tong feel strange. ¡°You don¡¯t have to do this.¡± Guan Tong tried to brush away Lu Han¡¯s words. ¡°We are husband and wife. Whatever our problem is, we¡¯ll face it together.¡± Guan Tong knew that they were husband and wife, but it was the first time she heard it from Lu Han¡¯s mouth. Guan Tong felt even stranger in her heart. She didn¡¯t know how long they could pretend to be husband and wife. ¡°Madam, please come out.¡± The housekeeper walked out and opened the door for them to enter. Guan Tong pushed the wheelchair out. Lu Han sat on it with his eyes closed. He was pretending to be a coma patient as hard as he could. After getting out of their car, Guan Tong carefully looked around the Lin family mansion. It had been many years since the last time she visited. This was also where she ate and played when she was young. This was her home, and now it looked nothing like what she remembered. When Guan Tong entered the hall, she saw Zhang Lin sitting on the sofa. Zhang Lin¡¯s eyes widened when she saw Guan Tong come in. Zhang Lin didn¡¯t believe what her housekeeper told her, but now it was clear. The b*tch was indeed still alive and well. ¡°Fei¡¯er¡Fei¡¯er is back¡¡± Zhang Lin was frightened, and she unnaturally spoke to Guan Tong. Guan Tong never saw Zhang Lin as her mother anyway, so she only nodded. ¡°This? This is Lu¡?¡± Zhang Lin originally wanted to call Lu Han by his full name, but when she saw Uncle Tang¡¯s cold gaze, she forcefully held her tongue back. ¡°Welcome, Young Master Lu¡¡± Zhang Lin respectfully greeted him. ¡°Madam Lin, this is the first time our Young Madam has returned home. This is a small token of our Young Master¡¯s appreciation. Please accept it.¡± Although Lu Han knew about the conflict between Guan Tong and the Lin family, he prepared something as a gift. After all, Guan Tong¡¯s grandmother depended on the Lin family, and Lu Han would make them pay in the future. Uncle Tang gestured, and soon a group of bodyguards carried the gifts into the hall. They placed them in the living room corner, and they piled up into a small hill. Zhang Lin forced a smile when she saw so many gifts. ¡®What was up with this little b*tch giving her gifts and all?¡¯ ¡°Thank you, Young Master Lu.¡± Zhang Lin gratefully thanked Lu Han. ¡°Mother, are there guests today?¡± Lin Fei, who had just finished attending the party, walked in at that moment. Zhang Lin saw Lin Fei and panicked. Why would her daughter decide to come home at this time? ¡°Ahem, Tongtong.¡± Zhang Lin quickly winked at Lin Fei, signaling her to pretend she wasn¡¯t Lin Fei. As Lin Fei came in, she saw Guan Tong and Lu Han. She was stunned when she saw Lu Han. The man was handsome. He looked better than any celebrity that she had ever seen.. Chapter 25 - Woken Up Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation Lin Fei looked at Lu Han¡¯s handsome face and wondered why he had his eyes closed like that. As she looked up, she saw Guan Tong standing by his side. ¡°So, it¡¯s you. The ugly girl came back.¡± Lin Fei said mockingly when she saw Guan Tong. Lin Fei saw that Guan Tong had come with the handsome man in the wheelchair, and she predicted that he was in a comatose state. Guan Tong had a bad feeling when she saw Lin Fei. She was afraid that Lin Fei would reveal her identity and the substitute marriage she had agreed to. Sure enough, Lin Fei was clueless and didn¡¯t notice Guan Tong¡¯s look at all. ¡°You¡¯re back? We all thought that you were killed by the Young Master of the Lu family.¡± Lin Fei jokingly said. Uncle Tang knew about the substitute marriage because he was the one who discovered it during his investigation. However, Guan Tong was a good person, and she was kind and intelligent. Uncle Tang loved this girl from the bottom of his heart and suspected that the Lin family must not have been kind to her, but he didn¡¯t know it would be this bad. The Lin family was also a well-known family in the Capital¡¯s society. Uncle Tang almost couldn¡¯t believe how Guan Tong was being treated. ¡°Tongtong!¡± Zhang Lin still tried to cover it up. Lin Fei also knew that she said too much, but she wasn¡¯t going to apologize. Instead, she quietly sat down on the sofa. ¡°Haha, although this girl is a cousin, she has been raised by my side since she was young. I¡¯ve spoiled her.¡± Zhang Lin smiled embarrassedly. ¡°Where¡¯s my grandmother?¡± Guan Tong wanted to cut the nonsense and went straight to the point. ¡°She¡¯s resting on the side of the courtyard.¡± Zhang Lin quickly answered. ¡°What?¡± Guan Tong was in disbelief and turned pale with fright. ¡°Why didn¡¯t you send Grandmother to the hospital?¡± ¡°Little girl! Why are you talking to me with that tone of voice?¡± Zhang Lin immediately cursed. ¡°The Lin family gave you food and drinks. How are you so ungrateful to your elders? Today, I¡¯ll teach you a lesson on behalf of your father.¡± Zhang Lin was in the wrong here, of course. She had promised Guan Tong to transfer her grandmother to a better hospital, but Zhang Lin¡¯s heart ached for the money, so she simply brought Guan Tong¡¯s grandmother back to the side courtyard and asked the nurse to take a look. Zhang Lin didn¡¯t take good care or even bother to look at the sick grandmother. Zhang Lin was bluffing. She pointed to Guan Tong¡¯s face with her index finger and angrily yelled at her. She must have forgotten how she used to beg Guan Tong¡¯s parents when she depended on them before their deaths. Guan Tong¡¯s uncle indeed had money to spend on Zhang Lin these past years, but the amount is few and far between. It was only enough to count with one hand. Guan Tong thought of her grandmother¡¯s suffering for her all these years. She clenched her fists, and a shocking coldness flashed through her eyes. ¡°I advise you to immediately transfer Grandmother to a better hospital and get her the best treatment. Or else¡¡± ¡°Or else what? You ugly girl, someone must¡¯ve taught you how to threaten that you¡¯re speaking to me like this¡¡± Zhang Lin mocked Guan Tong¡¯s ultimatum. ¡°Or else, the Lin family will be in big trouble.¡± At this moment, a clear male voice was suddenly heard. Everyone was stunned when they heard this voice. There was no one else in this room other than Uncle Tang. Moreover, the voice was from someone young. It didn¡¯t seem like it came from Lu Han¡¯s butler. Could it be¡ Everyone looked down and saw that Lu Han, who was presumably in a comatose state, had opened his eyes. Lu Han, who was initially sitting in the wheelchair, slowly stood up. Zhang Lin was so scared that she leaned back and fell onto the sofa when she saw this. Lin Fei was also stunned at this moment. Lu Han¡¯s eyes were so hypnotizing. Guan Tong was shocked that Lu Han decided to expose himself. ¡°Young Master Lu¡¡± Zhang Lin muttered. ¡°I didn¡¯t know that the Lin family could be this unbelievable.¡± Lu Han looked down from above. His eyes were cold. Those who dared to bully him were simply tired of being alive. ¡°Which courtyard is the Old Madam in?¡± Lu Han sternly asked. As he thought of all the pain and suffering that Guan Tong and her grandmother endured through all these years, he felt like he could kill someone. ¡°In¡In the side courtyard.¡± Zhang Lin was so scared that she couldn¡¯t finish her sentence. ¡°Well, lead the way.¡± The housekeeper led everyone to the side courtyard with Lu Han¡¯s order. The deeper Guan Tong went, the colder her heart became. The courtyard was overgrown with weeds. At a glance, it was apparent that no one had been here a long time. Moreover, it was gloomy and cold. Some of the damp areas were covered with moss and vegetation. How could grandmother receive good treatment in a place like this? ¡°Although the environment is a little bad, I asked a nurse to take good care and check in on her every day.¡± Zhang Lin saw the cold eyes of Guan Tong and Lu Han, so she quickly tried to make up an excuse. Guan Tong scoffed angrily when she heard this. How was it possible that a big house like the Lin family¡¯s could not host a frail, old lady? Zhang Lin had arranged for her grandmother to stay on the side of the courtyard. It was clear to Guan Tong that Zhang Lin had no care for her grandmother. Finally, they arrived at the small wooden house where her grandmother resided. This shabby wooden house was a stark contrast with the magnificently-built house on the side. ¡°Grandmother¡¡± There was no movement inside at all. Guan Tong carefully pushed the door open and called out in a low voice. But there was still no sound. Guan Tong was anxious. In the past, no matter how bad her grandmother¡¯s health was, she would always respond to her, but now Guan Tong couldn¡¯t hear anything at all.. Chapter 26 - Sent to the Hospital Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation Guan Tong pushed through and found an old woman lying on the bed. She had a head full of white hair, and her face was ashen. ¡°Grandmother! Grandmother!¡± Guan Tong ran over and knelt on the ground to check on her grandmother¡¯s condition. The old woman on the bed didn¡¯t move at all. No matter how Guan Tong shouted, it was useless. Guan Tong quickly turned her grandmother¡¯s hand over and checked her pulse. It turned out that the old woman was just unconscious. ¡°Grandmother is just unconscious¡¡± Guan Tong fell to the ground, a little dizzy. She saw her grandmother¡¯s eyes that had sunk in and her weak pulse. Zhang Lin felt guilty. Grandmother¡¯s condition had worsened a few days ago. Zhang Lin even hired a doctor to take a look at her. She didn¡¯t know that Grandmother would lose consciousness like this. She thought that the old woman was such a burden to her. ¡°Grandmother! Grandmother! Look at me, grandmother¡¡± Guan Tong was lying on the side of the bed and grabbed the old lady¡¯s hand. However, Guan Tong felt that her grandmother¡¯s hand was dry and wilted like an old tree branch. Guan Tong cried her heart out, but the old woman did not respond no matter how hard she tried. Instead, her pulse was only getting weaker and weaker. ¡°Quick, send her to the hospital.¡± Lu Han¡¯s heart ached when he saw how tortured Guan Tong was. Zhang Lin quickly retreated to the side, but she couldn¡¯t be blamed for this. If Zhang Lin were to send Guan Tong¡¯s grandmother to a hospital, it would have cost her a thousand dollars a day. Zhang Lin would be heartbroken to fork out that much money. Guan Tong and Lu Han quickly brought Grandmother to the hospital. When Lu Han stepped out of the room, he tilted his head and glanced at Zhang Lin. She was hiding in the corner of the room. ¡°The Lin family should¡¯ve taken better care of their Old Madam.¡± He said. Zhang Lin looked up quickly, but they were no longer in the room. She only saw Lin Fei with her. ¡°Mother, how come Lu Han is no longer in a coma?¡± Lin Fei was already mesmerized by Lu Han¡¯s appearance. Moreover, Lu Han was no longer in a comatose state. Apparently, he didn¡¯t hurt his wife since Guan Tong was still alive and well. ¡°How would I know?¡± Unlike Lin Fei, Zhang Lin was extremely vexed now. Guan Tong was fine, and she seemed to be especially loved by Lu Han. What did she do to him? ¡°Mother, why don¡¯t you find someone better to replace that ugly girl?¡± At that moment, Lin Fei regretted her decision. If she didn¡¯t make Guan Tong her replacement, she would be doted on now. Zhang Lin was not as optimistic as Lin Fei. Her mind was filled with Lu Han¡¯s words before he left. It seemed that the Lu family would stand up for Guan Tong. At that moment, Guan Tong¡¯s grandmother had already been sent to the hospital. ¡°Don¡¯t worry. Your grandmother is here now. She¡¯s in good hands. A doctor who was in charge said to Guan Tong. When Zhang Lin wanted to take the old lady away, he disagreed and tried his best to persuade her against her decision. However, Zhang Lin was adamant, and she was still the patient¡¯s family member. ¡°Doctor Kang.¡± Guan Tong¡¯s eyes were hazy with tears. Doctor Kang¡¯s daughter was about the same age as Guan Tong. It turned out that he had seen how hard Guan Tong had taken care of her grandmother. ¡°It must be hard on you, child. Don¡¯t worry. We will try our best to save your grandmother.¡± Doctor Kang could only promise Guan Tong. ¡°Thank you, Doctor Kang.¡± Guan Tong wiped her eyes. ¡°Put your best doctors on her grandmother¡¯s case, and money is not a problem.¡± Lu Han said. Doctor Kang finally looked at the young man who stood beside Guan Tong. This young man had a dignified appearance, one look, and anyone could tell that he came from a rich or a noble family. ¡°Sir, please don¡¯t worry. Us doctors always do our best for our patients.¡± Doctor Kang replied seriously. After Doctor Kang finished speaking, he quickly returned to the operating room. Guan Tong waited anxiously outside. Grandmother was Guan Tong¡¯s only remaining genuine family member. If her grandmother died, Guan Tong would be lost in the world. Lu Han looked at Guan Tong, who was standing in front of him with gentle eyes. After an unknown amount of time, the lights in the operating room were finally turned off. ¡°Doctor, how is she?¡± Guan Tong worriedly asked. ¡°Your grandmother is safe. As for when she will wake up, it will depend on her will to survive. The family member can only encourage and wait.¡± Guan Tong nodded. It was a good thing that her grandmother was saved. ¡°Thank you, Doctor.¡± Guan Tong¡¯s grandmother was transferred to the ward. As Guan Tong looked at her grandmother lying on her bed, her composure was finally restored. It seemed that she needed to have a conversation with Lu Han. Since the Lin family had shown no care for her grandmother¡¯s life, why should Guan Tong show them mercy? Moreover, Grandmother¡¯s upcoming treatment would still require more money. Lu Han looked at Guan Tong, who was standing in front of him. After so many things they have been through together, he wanted Guan Tong to confess her real identity to him. With this girl¡¯s intelligence, she should find it wise not to hide it from him anymore. ¡°Lu Han, I have something to tell you¡¡± Before Guan Tong could finish her words, she heard the sound of the door being pushed open. At a glance, it turned out to be Lin Fei standing at the door. Guan Tong raised her eyebrows, and the girl was dressed beautifully.. Chapter 27 - I Am Guan Tong Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation Guan Tong didn¡¯t know much about her cousin, but she would have guessed it. It seemed that Lin Fei had liked Lu Han, or else, she would not have dressed up pretty and came all this way here. ¡°How¡¯s Grandmother?¡± Lin Fei wanted to play coy in front of Lu Han, so she asked Guan Tong with tears in her eyes. ¡°What are you doing here?¡± Guan Tong brushed her off. She didn¡¯t want to give Lin Fei a good look. ¡°Of course, I¡¯m here to see Grandmother. Why are you allowed to see her while I¡¯m not?¡± Lin Fei felt that the ugly girl in front would ruin her reputation. ¡°Young Master.¡± After Lin Fei said this, she turned around and said to Lu Han in a sweet voice, but he was not interested. ¡°Young Master, my name is Guan Tong. I¡¯m the cousin of Fei¡¯er.¡± Although Lu Han didn¡¯t engage in a conversation, it didn¡¯t Stop Lin Fei from introducing herself. Lu Han raised his eyebrows. He knew the truth behind the whole scene. Suddenly, a brilliant idea appeared in his mind. ¡°I know.¡± Lu Han said. Lin Fei was ecstatic when she heard Lu Han¡¯s words. The Young Master of the Lu family knew about her. Lin Fei suspected that her beauty had conquered Lu Han¡¯s heart at that point. Guan Tong was very confused. How would Lu Han know that Lin Fei was Guan Tong? ¡°Come out with me.¡± Lu Han said to Lin Fei. Guan Tong didn¡¯t care what Lu Han said. She ignored the strange feeling in her heart. ¡°Young Master.¡± Lin Fei couldn¡¯t help but wink at Lu Han. ¡°Your name is Guan Tong?¡± Lu Han asked Lin Fei. ¡°Yes.¡± Lin Fei didn¡¯t want to take Guan Tong¡¯s identity, but she had no other choice. ¡°Do you live in Thousand Flowers Lane?¡± The Thousand Flowers Lane was the area of the slums where Guan Tong¡¯s house was before she moved into the Lu family. Lin Fei knew that Thousand Flowers Lane was a slum, and the real Guan Tong lived in that place. Lin Fei scoffed. However, she took Guan Tong¡¯s identity, and she had to admit it. ¡°Yes, I¡¯m living in Thousand Flowers Lane.¡± Lin Fei answered. ¡°Yes, I was looking for you. I¡¯ll have someone take you back to my house.¡± He said. Lin Fei was so happy when she heard Lu Han¡¯s words and almost fell into a daze. She felt like she had hit the jackpot. Young Master Lu was seriously going to take her home! ¡°What about Lin Fei?¡± Lin Fei still did not forget that she acted as ¡°Guan Tong.¡± ¡°Don¡¯t worry about her.¡± Lu Han pretended to brush off the real Guan Tong. Lin Fei was pleased when she heard this. It seemed that Guan Tong was not that pampered in the Lu household. ¡°Then, alright.¡± Lin Fei acted reserved and timid. Meanwhile, Guan Tong did not have the capital to arrange the best doctor for her grandmother yet. She wanted to get it done after she finished talking with Lu Han. Uncle Tang arranged for someone to bring Lin Fei to Green Bay. When Lin Fei arrived at the gate of Green Bay, everyone was stunned. It was indeed the Lu family. Not everyone could afford to buy a house in this area. Not only was it expensive, but there were limited numbers of land available for purchase as well. The residence that Lin Fei was taken to an ultra-large compound of houses, and they were sky-high too. Even the Lin family could not afford an estate in Green Bay. When Lin Fei walked in, she was even more shocked by the residence¡¯s interior. It was extremely different from Lin¡¯s family house. Lin Fei sprinted, jumped on the sofa, and immediately gave Zhang Lin a call. ¡°Mother, guess where I am now?¡± ¡°You wretched girl, where did you go?¡± Zhang Lin was extremely busy with Guan Tong and Lu Han¡¯s matters. Who would have thought that Lin Fei would have gone to God knows where when she turned around? ¡°I¡¯m in Green Bay.¡± Lin Fei said proudly. Zhang Lin was stunned when she heard that. ¡°What are you doing in Green Bay?¡± Zhang Lin knew about Green Bay. The people there were untouchable. ¡°I went to see that old woman and met Young Master Lu.¡± As Lin Fei thought of Lu Han, Lin Fei felt her heart tremble when she turned around. Zhang Lin¡¯s heart tightened. Just as she was about to scold Lin Fei, Lin Fei continued, ¡°I told the Young Master that my name was Guan Tong, and he brought me back to his home!¡± ¡°What? Are you being serious?¡± Zhang Lin was stunned. Could it be that the real Guan Tong had a relationship with Lu Han before the arranged marriage? ¡°I¡¯m already here. Why would I lie, Mother? This place is hundreds of times better than our house. The Young Master even said that he would give me a few servants to serve me¡¡± Zhang Lin was excited by Lin Fei¡¯s words, and she couldn¡¯t wait to go and experience what her daughter was telling her. ¡°Mother, you should wait a little longer. I have to find out first what¡¯s going on between the Young Master and Guan Tong. Also, I have to control that damned ugly girl so that she doesn¡¯t open her mouth and expose my real identity.¡± Lin Fei carefully explained to her mother. ¡°Okay, don¡¯t worry about that. That old woman is still under our control, and Guan Tong wouldn¡¯t dare say anything.¡± Zhang Lin thought about it and agreed. The only problematic factor was Guan Tong, the real Guan Tong. ¡°Also, there¡¯s something else that I have to tell you.¡± Zhang Lin said to Lin Fei suspiciously. ¡°What else?¡± Lin Fei was getting impatient. She couldn¡¯t wait to see what the garden looked like. ¡°That old lady has a hidden treasure!¡± Zhang Lin revealed. ¡°Treasure? What treasure would that old, sick woman have?¡± Lin Fei was confused. ¡°It¡¯s said to be a family heirloom of the Guan family, but that old woman doesn¡¯t have it with her. I suspected it would be at Guan Tong¡¯s place. You should be more careful.¡± Zhang Lin said.. Chapter 28 - A Fight Ensued Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation Lin Fei frowned. She had no idea what family heirloom her mother was talking about. Just as she was about to speak, she heard a scream coming from above her. ¡°Mother, I have to hang up now.¡± Lin Fei said and ended her call. After Lin Fei hung up the phone, she stood up. It turned out that a woman was standing on the stairs above. She was wearing pajamas and looked like a sweet lady. While Lin Fei was sizing up Qiao Ran, Qiao Ran observed Lin Fei. Perhaps, this girl was Lu Han¡¯s lover that he met from somewhere else? Lin Fei suddenly felt a sense of crisis. She wasn¡¯t worried about Guan Tong, the scars on her face would be an immediate disqualification in terms of the beauty, but Qiao Ran¡¯s face was beautiful. Qiao Ran saw that Lin Fei was furious, and she ran down the stairs. When Qiao Ran heard the rustling downstairs, she thought Lu Han had returned home. She was shocked to discover a woman, and the woman was beautiful too. ¡°Young Master asked me to be here!¡± Lin Fei raised her head proudly. Qiao Ran was about to explode when she heard Lin Fei¡¯s words. Why would Lu Han bring someone back to the house? Qiao Ran and Lin Fei thought the same thing. Guan Tong was not a competition, but they saw each other as one. ¡°Impossible! Brother Han would not bring another woman back.¡± Qiao Ran felt that the woman in front of her was lying. That woman must¡¯ve forced Lu Han or something that he had no other choice but to let her come back to his home. ¡°Tsk, tsk. Look at you. You have a bad figure and not even a pretty face. As if the Young Master would fall for someone like you. Stop dreaming!¡± Lin Fei said. Lin Fei had always been sharp-tongued. She would have even less mercy for someone like Qiao Ran, who she saw as her love rival. Qiao Ran was annoyed by Lin Fei¡¯s insult. While it was true that her body was not as plump and curvaceous as Lin Fei¡¯s, but their beauty was on a similar level. ¡°What did you say? I dare you to repeat it!¡± Qiao Ran yelled. ¡°What did you say? I dare you to repeat it!¡± Lin Fei immediately mocked Qiao Ran with her own words. Qiao Ran was furious after hearing the insults, so she immediately gave Lin Fei a hard slap to the face. No one had ever dared to slap her since she was young. Lin Fei immediately hit back at Qiao Ran, and they started to fight. Uncle Tang finally understood why the Young Master had asked him to bring back the fake Guan Tong. He signaled the servants to leave to two girls alone. When Guan Tong finished dealing with her grandmother¡¯s matter, it was already dark. Their expensive car rolled to the front, which caused passers-by to look back simultaneously. Lu Han and Guan Tong got into the car. After getting into the car, Guan Tong clenched a part of her clothes. She wasn¡¯t sure what Lu Han¡¯s reaction would be after telling him, but she still had to. ¡°Lu Han, I have something to tell you.¡± ¡°What do you want to say?¡± Lu Han focused on the woman in front of him. Guan Tong wasn¡¯t sure if it was a mistake or not, but she could have sworn that she saw anticipation in Lu Han¡¯s eyes. She recalled the past when she was spending time with Lu Han. His gaze made her feel pressured, and the words that were at the tip of her tongue almost couldn¡¯t find their way out. ¡°Nothing, I¡¯m just a little hungry.¡± Guan Tong loosened her fist and calmed down. Disappointment flashed across Lu Han¡¯s eyes. He thought that Guan Tong would have the courage to reveal her true identity. It didn¡¯t matter to him, and he could wait until the time was right when Guan Tong was ready to tell him the truth. ¡°Let¡¯s go. I¡¯ll take you to someplace with good food,¡± Lu Han adjusted his mood and said to Guan Tong. Guan Tong¡¯s emotion weighed down on her. She ignored what Lu Han said until the car stopped at the entrance of a small alley. ¡°Where are we?¡± Guan Tong was confused. The location was somewhere behind a university. This alley was filled with snacks and street foods, especially those famous among university students. Lu Han¡¯s luxurious car seemed quite odd in that environment. ¡°Uncle Tang said that this street is full of food that all the girls love.¡± She didn¡¯t know if it was because of the flickering lights at night, but Guan Tong saw that Lu Han¡¯s face was flushing. He probably had never eaten this kind of food before. ¡®Young Master, you were the one who wanted to bring Madam here. I never gave such a recommendation.¡¯ Uncle Tang was confused, and he thought to himself quietly. ¡°Madam, I just asked some people, and they said that there are many specialties here, delicious food.¡± He played along. Guan Tong raised her eyebrows. She was sure the butler and his master duo were trying to deceive her. Perhaps, Lu Han had some kind of conspiracy planned without her knowing. Maybe, he was trying to console her. She immediately ruled out the second possibility. Why would Lu Han comfort her since he hated her from the beginning? ¡°Let¡¯s go and try some.¡± Lu Han coughed twice as he awkwardly invited Guan Tong. Of course, Guan Tong had no objections. Ever since she was young, she ate everything that she could. This kind of roadside stall was more than common for her. Guan Tong suspected that Lu Han might find that feeding her was too expensive and wanted to get her cheap food. The more she thought about it, the more it made sense to her. Guan Tong felt that Lu Han was being stingy.. Chapter 29 - The Young Master of Lu Family Has Awoken Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation If Lu Han could hear Guan Tong¡¯s thoughts, he would probably get mad again. If he knew what was she was thinking, he wouldn¡¯t bring her here in the first place. He didn¡¯t want to be labeled as a cheapskate. Lu Han brought her to a small shop as Guan Tong wondered if he could even get used to street food. The moment Lu Han and Guan Tong got out of the car, their presence attracted the people¡¯s attention around them. Everyone was amazed by Guan Tong¡¯s and Lu Han¡¯s looks but in a different sense. They looked at Guan Tong in disgust and confusion, yet they seemed to be awed by Lu Han¡¯s good looks. ¡°This is the place.¡± Lu Han noticed the people¡¯s eyes and silently shielded Guan Tong. Guan Tong didn¡¯t care about what the people thought of her. She got used to people staring at her this way. They were in a famous Bullfrog Restaurant. Although it was on Snack Street, it was trendy. ¡°The guests are here.¡± The owner of the Bullfrog Restaurant knew that Lu Han and Guan Tong were either rich or noble when he saw their clothes, so he quickly came over to greet them. ¡°We¡¯ll have your specialty.¡± Lu Han had never eaten such street food before, so he didn¡¯t know how to order. ¡°Let me order for you.¡± Guan Tong saw that Lu Han was clueless, so she took the menu from him. ¡°Okay.¡± Lu Han handed the menu to Guan Tong. Guan Tong ordered a few dishes. It was probably enough to fill them both, but she knew that Lu Han didn¡¯t eat spicy food, so she deliberately didn¡¯t order any spicy dishes. ¡°Where is ¡®Guan Tong¡¯ now?¡± She had just only remembered Lin Fei¡¯s existence at that moment. Lin Fei mysteriously disappeared after Lu Han invited her outside. No one knew where she went. Lu Han was stunned when he heard Guan Tong¡¯s words. He thought that Guan Tong was right in front of him, and then he realized that Guan Tong was talking about the other woman that was using her name. ¡°You¡¯ll know in a while.¡± Lu Han brought Lin Fei back for two reasons. One was to let Qiao Ran and Lin Fei fight each other, saving him a lot of trouble. He also wanted to see the real Guan Tong¡¯s reaction. ¡®Why is he always keeping me in suspense? It doesn¡¯t matter. I don¡¯t care that much.¡¯ The food in this restaurant was extremely delicious. The bullfrogs were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It was worthy of its fame. ¡°Hey, handsome. Can I have your WeChat?¡± At that moment, two young girls were standing next to Lu Han. They looked smitten, and one of them asked for Lu Han¡¯s WeChat. Guan Tong looked at Lu Han¡¯s reaction mockingly. Good-looking people always had stupid problems like these. She wanted to see how Lu Han would react. ¡°I¡¯m married.¡± Lu Han smiled slightly and politely refused their request. Guan Tong looked up and saw that man in front of her. She wondered why Lu Han was looking at her so lovingly. ¡°Married?¡± The two girls were also a little puzzled. This man was so good-looking, they didn¡¯t understand how a man like Lu Han would be married at this age. They slowly put two and two together, they looked at Guan Tong¡¯s scarred face, and the two girls suddenly had a sad expression for Lu Han. ¡°Yes, this is my wife.¡± Lu Han looked at Guan Tong proudly and held her hand tight in his. Guan Tong was utterly stunned at this moment. What was Lu Han doing? Why was he behaving like this? He looked at her so affectionately and even held her hand. ¡°That¡ that¡¯s fine.¡± Although the two girls felt that Lu Han deserved better, they couldn¡¯t say anything and regretfully left. ¡°What are you doing?¡± Guan Tong quickly pulled her hand out and said to Lu Han. ¡°Isn¡¯t it nice of you to block me from those women?¡± After pulling her hand out, Lu Han felt that Guan Tong¡¯s heart was empty. Guan Tong pouted at how ¡°useful¡± she was to Lu Han, and she could even block undesirable women for him. Just as Lu Han and Guan Tong were having dinner, the news that the Young Master of the Lu family had woken up spread throughout the entire city. ¡ ¡°What? The Young Master of the Lu family has woken up?¡± Lin Tian, Zhang Lin¡¯s husband, was shocked when he heard the news. ¡°Yeah. Perhaps the joyous wedding event caused him to wake up?¡± Zhang Lin did not believe in superstitions, but moments like these gave her doubts. Lin Tian did not worry if it was the reason Young Master Lu woke up. At the moment, he wanted to know if the Young Master of the Lu family had found out the truth about the substitute marriage. When they sent Guan Tong to the Lu family, they did not expect her to get out alive. Instead, Guan Tong came out unscathed, but her betrothed had also woken up! ¡°Where¡¯s Fei¡¯er?¡± Lin Tian did not see his daughter when he returned home, so he asked Zhang Lin. Zhang Lin beamed with joy when she answered. ¡°Fei¡¯er? The Young Master of the Lu family has taken a liking to her. She¡¯s been taken to the Lu family¡¯s Green Bay Residence.¡± Zhang Lin was over the moon when she was talking about what had happened Lin Tian frowned. He was much more reasonable and sensible than Zhang Lin and Lin Fei. The Young Master of the Lu family had been in a coma for such a long time, yet he did not lose his authority as the head of the family. That was enough to prove The Young Master¡¯s capability and influence. Why would a man of such caliber bring home any random woman? ¡°Are you sure that the Young Master of the Lu family is in love with Fei¡¯er?¡± ¡°Of course, I¡¯m sure. Fei¡¯er told me that herself.¡± Zhang Lin insisted.. Chapter 30 - Return to the Lu Family’s Old Mansion Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation Zhang Lin felt like she was about to float when she thought about being the mother-in-law of the Young Master Lu. When the time was right, she would find an opportunity to get rid of Guan Tong and obtain the family heirloom of the Guan family. Then she would be able to rest easy for the rest of her life. Lin Tian was not as optimistic as Zhang Lin. He had a feeling that something terrible was going to happen. ¡°Find some time to call Fei¡¯er and tell her to come back as soon as possible.¡± ¡°Why? Can¡¯t Fei¡¯er stay with the Young Master Lu?¡± Zhang Lin didn¡¯t want to call Lin Fei back. ¡°The Lu family is known for being unfathomable, especially the Young Master. We¡¯d better be careful.¡± Zhang Lin nodded to her husband¡¯s words. She did not understand what Lin Tian was saying. She only knew that being the Young Master¡¯s mother-in-law was an extremely prestigious position. At the same time, in the Lu family¡¯s old residence. ¡°What? Han¡¯er has woken up?¡± Initially sitting on the chair, the Old Madam stood up excitedly when she heard the news. ¡°Yes, Old Madam.¡± Said the Lu family¡¯s chief steward. ¡°That¡¯s great. That¡¯s good news!¡± The Old Madam felt that she was about to cry from joy. She only wanted to thank Guan Tong for helping Lu Han¡¯s recovery. As she was thinking about it, she wanted to visit the couple since she was in the Capital and Lu Han and Guan Tong were also there. ¡°Old Madam, do you want the Young Master and Madam to come back?¡± The chief housekeeper knew what Old Madam wanted the most. Nothing else would make her happier than to see her Young Master. ¡°Okay!¡± The Old Madam quickly replied. Liu Juan, who was upstairs, instinctively knew what the news was. ¡°Lu Han woke up?¡± Liu Juan was a little surprised. A few days ago, she heard the news that Lu Han was getting better, but she didn¡¯t know why he recovered that quickly. ¡°Yeah, what should we do?¡± Lu Xian, the second son of the Old Madam, was sitting there. He was known to be somewhat of a playboy. Because of this, the Old Madam and Old Master worried about him. According to the Old Madam, she thought that Lu Xian was a clueless oaf. ¡°You¡¯re still asking me what to do? Look at you, useless. Lu Han has been in a coma for all these years, yet you still wielded no power in the family.¡± Lu Xian scratched his head. How could he be blamed for this? What could he do if the Old Madam decided not to grant him any authority? ¡°You are still talking about me. What you did back then was also completely useless.¡± Liu Juan heard Lu Xian¡¯s words and quickly covered his mouth. ¡°Do you want that old woman to hear so we both can die together?¡± If the Old Madam found out their plan, they would be in big trouble. Lu Xian also knew that what he said was a mistake. ¡°Huh, you stay here and think of a better way. I¡¯m going out first.¡± ¡°Which young girl are you sleeping with tonight?¡± Liu Juan sneered. Lu Xian was a womanizer. In addition to his good looks, he also had money, and many little girls pounced on him like crazy. A few years ago, he fathered an illegitimate child, which made him suffer in silence and couldn¡¯t voice his opinion. ¡°Don¡¯t talk nonsense.¡± Lu Xian waved his hand. He didn¡¯t want to stay with this jealous wife anymore. He found it easier to see his mistress, Wei¡¯er, instead. She was way more understanding. After Lu Xian left, Liu Juan threw the glass of water in her hand to the ground, resulting in a loud bang noise. When the time came, and her son was in charge, she would discard her useless husband. The Lu family¡¯s old residence was full of tension. But at this moment, Lu Han and Guan Tong felt warm and happy in the restaurant. ¡°How was it? Are you full?¡± Lu Han was satisfied when he saw Guan Tong eat a mouthful of food. ¡°Yes, I¡¯m full.¡± Guan Tong felt that she would gain an extra few pounds after finishing this meal. The bullfrogs that she was eating were too delicious. ¡°That¡¯s good. After eating, we have to go back to the Lu family¡¯s old residence.¡± Lu Han said. ¡°Go back to the Lu family¡¯s old residence?¡± Guan Tong was confused. ¡°Grandmother probably already knows that I woke up now.¡± Lu Han suspected. Guan Tong thought about it, and it made sense. The Old Madam was always concerned about Lu Han¡¯s health. She probably already knew about it now. Moreover, the entire city¡¯s social circle probably knew that the Young Master Lu had woken up. ¡°Mm, okay.¡± Guan Tong agreed readily. Uncle Tang drove Lu Han and Guan Tong to the Lu family¡¯s old residence. Although it was already dark, Guan Tong still took a careful look at the Lu family¡¯s old residence. The antique style would make anyone feel comfortable to be in there. ¡°Young Master is back!¡± The servants of the Lu family¡¯s old residence had watched Lu Han grow up. They were also ecstatic that their Young Master had recovered. The Old Madam heard the commotion outside and quickly stood up. She looked out with concern. ¡°Grandmother.¡± Lu Han walked in with Guan Tong and greeted the Old Madam. The Old Madam wiped her eyes. When she heard Lu Han¡¯s voice, she knew she wasn¡¯t dreaming. Her beloved grandson had indeed woken up.. Chapter 31 - Take Cover Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation ¡°Han¡¯er, Han¡¯er¡¡± The Old Madam staggered over and hugged Lu Han. ¡°Grandmother.¡± Lu Han knew that his grandmother truly cared for him, so he hugged the Old Madam tightly. ¡°Grandmother, Let¡¯s move over there.¡± Guan Tong looked at the scene before her, and her eyes felt a little sour. She wanted to hug her grandmother like this, but unfortunately, she was still unconscious on the hospital bed. ¡°Okay, alright. We¡¯ll sit. We¡¯ll sit.¡± The Old Madam wiped her eyes and pulled Lu Han to sit down. ¡°Han¡¯er, how are you feeling?¡± The Old Madam asked Lu Han. ¡°Grandmother, my body is fine.¡± He answered. ¡°That¡¯s good¡¡± The Old Madam was relieved. ¡°Tongtong, it¡¯s all thanks to you.¡± The Old Madam held Guan Tong¡¯s hand and said to Guan Tong. ¡°Grandmother, you¡¯re too kind.¡± Guan Tong smiled slightly. ¡°How was your return home today, Han¡¯er? I hope your in-laws aren¡¯t angry because I was not there with you.¡± The Old Madam worriedly asked. ¡°Of course not. We get along very well. Don¡¯t you think so, honey?¡± Lu Han reached out and put it behind Guan Tong¡¯s back. Honey? When did Lu Han become so mushy? This was the first time Lu Han had called her that, and Guan Tong was confused about Lu Han¡¯s intention. It was unusual for her to see Lu Han act this way because she had gotten used to his coldness at that point. Guan Tong also always knew that Lu Han was an extremely handsome man. She could tell from what happened between him and the girls in the restaurant. ¡°What are you confused about? Are you that happy that I woke up?¡± Lu Han asked and waved his hand in front of Guan Tong¡¯s face. His tone of voice was filled with warmth and kindness. ¡°Yes, I¡¯m delighted. Grandmother, don¡¯t worry. We get along well at home, and they¡¯re not angry.¡± Guan Tong came back to her senses and awkwardly wiped the corner of her eyes. Guan Tong still couldn¡¯t bring herself to call those two people her parents. ¡°That¡¯s good. By the way, how is Old Madam Lin?¡± The Old Madam had already returned to her normal state at this point. ¡°Grandmother, she¡¡± Guan Tong sniffled. Thinking of what her grandmother went through, she couldn¡¯t help but feel sad. ¡°Relax, let Han¡¯er find the best doctor for Old Madam Lin.¡± The Old Madam patted Guan Tong¡¯s hand to comfort her. ¡°Yes, thank you, Grandmother.¡± Guan Tong wiped the corner of her eyes. ¡°Quick, let¡¯s eat.¡± Old Madam had already ordered her servants to prepare the couple some food. ¡°Grandmother, we¡¯ve already eaten.¡± Guan Tong sighed in her heart. She had already eaten her fill just now and couldn¡¯t eat anymore. ¡°You¡¯ve eaten? Did you eat at your in-laws¡¯ home?¡± The Old Madam revealed a puzzled expression. ¡°Yes, we did.¡± Lu Han understood what Guan Tong meant and supported Guan Tong immediately. He was just throwing excuses without a thought at this point. The Old Madam was happy when she heard Lu Han¡¯s words. It seemed that Han¡¯er was so loved by his new in-laws that they both ate at Guan Tong¡¯s family home. Guan Tong was stunned. The Old Madam was the kind person who did not think she was better than anyone. She humbly worried about whether the Lin family liked Lu Han or not. But realistically speaking, who wouldn¡¯t appreciate the Lu family with their status and prestige? ¡°That¡¯s great. Han¡¯er, you and Fei¡¯er can still stay here for a while. But Fei¡¯er, could you come over here for a moment? I have something to ask you.¡± After her words, the Old Madam went to the study room. Guan Tong looked at Lu Han. Why would the Old Madam want to speak to her in private? Lu Han squeezed her hand to let her know that everything would be fine. Guan Tong followed and as she knocked on the study room door. ¡°Come in.¡± Old Madam said. ¡°Grandmother, why did you want to see me?¡± Guan Tong politely asked. ¡°Fei¡¯er, sit down quickly.¡± The Old Madam smiled and gestured for Guan Tong to sit down. ¡°Thank you, Grandmother.¡± Guan Tong sat down obediently. ¡°Fei¡¯er, tell me the truth. How did Han¡¯er wake up?¡± Guan Tong had guessed correctly. The Old Madam wanted to ask her about this matter, but she couldn¡¯t tell the truth. Otherwise, the Old Madam would find something amiss. Thus, Guan Tong spoke according to what she had discussed with Lu Han previously. After listening to Guan Tong¡¯s words, the Old Madam nodded. No matter how Han¡¯er woke up, she was happy that he had woken up at all. ¡°You weren¡¯t happy when you went home with Han¡¯er today, were you?¡± Suddenly, the Old Madam changed the topic. Guan Tong was stunned. How did the Old Madam know? Guan Tong quickly reacted and revealed a surprised expression. ¡°Grandmother, why would you say that? Lu Han and I came home happy today, and we¡¯re completely fine.¡± Guan Tong tried to brush away the truth. ¡°Don¡¯t help that kid lie to an old woman like me. I¡¯ve been in this family for so many years. Moreover, Han¡¯er grew up by my side. I know how we would act in any situation.¡± When the Old Madam heard Guan Tong¡¯s words, she simply glared at her and told her. Guan Tong knew that this Old Madam was not a stupid person. She came from a prestigious family and married the Old Master Lu at such a young age. She had gone through many hardships to get to where she was today.. Chapter 32 - Scar Treatment Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation ¡°Grandmother¡¡± Guan Tong was a little embarrassed. It turned out that the Old Madam had already seen through it but just didn¡¯t say it. ¡°Alright, my child. I understand. Marrying Han¡¯er must be hard on you.¡± The Old Madam patted Guan Tong¡¯s hand. Guan Tong heaved a sigh of relief when she saw that the Old Madam didn¡¯t blame her. ¡°Grandmother, Han¡¯er treats me quite well. I haven¡¯t been wronged in any way.¡± Guan Tong felt that she was speaking the truth. She did not know what had happened to Lu Han these past few days, but he was indeed extremely friendly to her. ¡°In the past, Han¡¯er has been in a coma, so you don¡¯t know his temperament. That child¡¯s temper was extremely horrible. In the future, if Han¡¯er mistreats you in any way, you can tell me. I¡¯ll help you teach him a lesson.¡± Guan Tong knew that the Old Madam¡¯s words were valid. That man was sometimes cold and sometimes obnoxious. Lu Han was so good to her these past few days that she wondered if she had offended Lu Han at some point in time. However, Guan Tong felt like she was being supported. ¡°Thank you, Grandmother, but Lu Han has been kind to me since he woke up. He wasn¡¯t hard to handle.¡± Guan Tong answered. ¡°That¡¯s good.¡± The Old Madam thought that this was a good sign. ¡°I have another reason why I called for you today.¡± The Old Madam said. ¡°What¡¯s the matter, Grandmother?¡± Guan Tong knew that if the situation called for it, she had to be ready for every possibility. ¡°Come in.¡± Just as the Old Madam finished speaking, a middle-aged man in a white coat entered and said respectfully. ¡°Old Madam.¡± The man glanced at Guan Tong and quickly averted his eyes as if he was frightened by Guan Tong¡¯s face, but he promptly returned to his composure. ¡°Grandmother, who is this?¡± Could this be the doctor that the Old Madam had found for Lu Han? ¡°Silly child, this is the doctor that was here especially for you. Doctor Hua has been practicing medicine for many years. His ancestors served in the Lu family for generations, so you can rest assured, my child.¡± Old Madam responded. Guan Tong was a little confused. She wasn¡¯t sick, so why was she being appointed a doctor? ¡°I¡¯m here to heal the scars on your face. You can¡¯t have scars like those on your face. If you have a clean, smooth face, you can tie down a man¡¯s heart.¡± The Old Madam sincerely wanted to treat Guan Tong. On one hand, Old Madam knew that Guan Tong¡¯s personality was far more than enough. She loved this girl very much. On the other hand, it was for the Lu family. If this Young Madam was seen in public with that big scar on her face, Old Madam was afraid Guan Tong would be ridiculed. ¡°Huh?¡± Guan Tong was shocked at this moment. Treating her scarred face? ¡°Madam, please let me examine you first.¡± Doctor Hua took the tools and walked towards Guan Tong. Guan Tong quickly waved her hand. ¡°Grandmother, my scars were examined at the hospital just earlier. The doctor said that it can¡¯t be cured, so you shouldn¡¯t waste a good doctor or money on me.¡± Guan Tong refused the treatment. The Old Madam did not believe that it couldn¡¯t be cured. There weren¡¯t any skin diseases in Doctor Hua¡¯s hands that couldn¡¯t be fixed. ¡°Let Doctor Hua take a look first. Just because other doctors can¡¯t cure it doesn¡¯t mean that Doctor Hua can¡¯t cure it. Besides, if it can¡¯t be cured, we¡¯ll think of another way. Now that technology is so advanced. I think we can heal your scars.¡± Old Madam said with a strong determination. Guan Tong felt her hair stand on end. However, the scars on her face looked very real to the naked eye. But Doctor Hua¡¯s examination would have found out that her scars were fake! If the Old Madam knew that she had prosthetic scars on her face all along, she would doubt her identity. Moreover, letting Lu Han and Old Madam see the truth was different. Furthermore, Guan Tong felt that to come forward with the truth and being exposed was also not the same matter. Therefore, the Old Madam must not find out the truth about Guan Tong¡¯s scars no matter what. ¡°Grandmother, I beg you. Don¡¯t let Doctor Hua treat me anymore.¡± Guan Tong covered her face and started crying bitterly as she said this. Her trembling thin shoulders and her choking tone made the Old Madam sad. The Old Madam was stunned. Why was Guan Tong so afraid to see a doctor? Could it be that her previous experience with a doctor had scarred her somehow? The Old Madam could not help but feel a little annoyed. She only had Guan Tong¡¯s best interest in mind and thought the girl would probably want to look beautiful. The Old Madam made a hand gesture to dismiss Doctor Hua first. She would have talked to Guan Tong first if she had known earlier. But because she didn¡¯t, Guan Tong resisted getting her face checked. ¡°Alright then. It¡¯s all my fault for not considering your feelings. Don¡¯t cry, girl. Don¡¯t cry.¡± The Old Madam¡¯s heart ached as she said to Guan Tong. Guan Tong leaned on the Old Madam¡¯s shoulder and finally heaved a sigh of relief. Fortunately, her acting skills were good enough that the Old Madam believed her. However, it seemed that the Old Madam had not given up on the idea of seeing her face. When the time came, she would need to think of a way to pass for her scars. ¡°I¡¯m sorry, Grandmother. You wanted Doctor Hua to treat my face, but I¡¡± As she said this, Guan Tong choked up again. The Old Madam¡¯s heart trembled at this moment. Look at how empathetic her granddaughter-in-law was. She didn¡¯t forget to comfort herself even though she had been provoked to such an extent. Thinking of this, the Old Madam¡¯s love and heartache for Guan Tong grew even more.. Chapter 33 - You Couldn’t Have Fallen in Love with Me Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation ¡°It¡¯s alright, my child.¡± The Old Madam quickly patted Guan Tong¡¯s back. The Old Madam finally managed to comfort Guan Tong to stop crying. And so, she let Guan Tong return to her chamber. When she walked to the door of the room, Guan Tong would occasionally wipe the corner of her eyes with her hand, pretending to be sobbing on her way back. ¡°What¡¯s wrong with you?¡± Lu Han saw that Guan Tong¡¯s eyes were red, and felt very distressed, so he quickly stood up and asked. ¡°I¡¯m fine. Nothing is wrong.¡± Guan Tong didn¡¯t dare to let Lu Han know her secret. ¡°Was Grandmother giving you a hard time?¡± Lu Han felt that his grandmother must have said something. Otherwise, Guan Tong wouldn¡¯t come back here this sad. ¡°No¡¡± Guan Tong quickly waved her hand. She did not want to cause any misunderstanding between Lu Han and the Old Madam. ¡°Grandmother wanted to have the scars on my face fixed.¡± Guan Tong said. Lu Han heaved a sigh of relief when he heard Guan Tong¡¯s words. He thought that Grandma had said something horrible to Guan Tong. ¡°Then why are you crying? Isn¡¯t that a good thing?¡± Lu Han still couldn¡¯t distinguish what the woman in front of him genuinely looked like under her scars. That night, he was also a little confused and didn¡¯t see Guan Tong¡¯s appearance clearly. The only thing he remembered was Guan Tong¡¯s pair of bright eyes. ¡°But it turns out that I¡¯ve been under pressure and being provoked, and I don¡¯t want the treatment.¡± Lu Han had already guessed what Guan Tong was going to say. He raised his eyebrows. This little girl had been provoked? Through their period of knowing each other, he could see that Guan Tong was a strong-willed woman. Therefore, Lu Han maintained a skeptical attitude towards his wife¡¯s words. ¡°So you¡¯ve been provoked by a doctor before?¡± Lu Han probed. ¡°Yeah, doctors back then said that it can¡¯t be cured.¡± As she spoke, Guan Tong choked up again. Lu Han couldn¡¯t bear to see Guan Tong like this. Thus, he hurriedly patted Guan Tong¡¯s back. ¡°Alright, alright. If you don¡¯t want to be treated, you don¡¯t have to be treated. No one will say anything about you. You are good enough. Don¡¯t you girls always talk about the beauty of the soul? I think you¡¯re more than enough.¡± Lu Han encouraged Guan Tong. ¡°In the past few days, did something happen to you?¡± Guan Tong rubbed her ears awkwardly. Was Lu Han trying to comfort her? Guan Tong couldn¡¯t take it anymore, so she asked him if something had changed. Otherwise, why would he be this abnormally kind to her? ¡°Nothing happened. Why?¡± Lu Han was stunned when he heard this. Was this girl finally going to reveal her true identity to him? ¡°Then, have I offended you again?¡± Guan Tong thought about it. It seemed like this was the only possibility. ¡°No, you didn¡¯t.¡± Lu Han wasn¡¯t sure what Guan Tong was thinking. ¡°Then why are you so kind to me? Don¡¯t tell me you¡¯ve fallen in love with me.¡± Guan Tong suddenly felt her hair stand on her arms. Lu Han was stunned. In love? Perhaps, what Guan Tong asked was indeed the case. ¡°No¡ Forget about it.¡± Guan Tong began to talk to herself again. She simply denied this possibility for Lu Han¡¯s falling in love. ¡°Alright, how about you just go to sleep.¡± Lu Han facepalmed. He felt like dealing with this girl was impossible. ¡°I¡¯m going to take a bath in the second bedroom first.¡± Today, Guan Tong was sweating all over when she was busy with her grandmother¡¯s hospital arrangements, so Guan Tong wanted to take an indulging hot bath by herself. ¡°Sure, go ahead.¡± Lu Han didn¡¯t mind Guan Tong¡¯s request. Guan Tong took herself a bath, then took off her clothes and lay down in the bathtub. She raised her slender fingers and placed them on her face. She traced the scar for a while and finally came to the back of her ear. She pinched a slight edge and gently pulled them away from her face. The ripping sound was made, and the scars on Guan Tong¡¯s face were torn open. A disguised prosthetic mask covered her natural face, and she could not see the sunlight for many years. Guan Tong¡¯s face looked particularly delicate. She had snow-white skin, exquisite eyebrows, and kissable red small lips that looked like bitten cherries. Guan Tong let out a sigh of relief. Fortunately, her actual appearance was not discovered by the Old Madam today. Guan Tong let out a light breath and lay in the bathtub, enjoying the massage in the warm bath. Lu Han was standing outside the bathroom at this moment. His body was graceful and strong. It was enough for any girl to witness this sight to feel a sense of euphoric daydream. Guan Tong felt that something was wrong. She could feel the presence of someone outside the bathroom. ¡°Who is it?¡± In Guan Tong¡¯s prediction, Lu Han could not be standing outside at this moment. He wasn¡¯t the type of man who would sneak a peek of someone in a bath. Perhaps, the Lu family home was being robbed again! Guan Tong was extremely anxious at the possibility. ¡°It¡¯s me.¡± Lu Han answered. Guan Tong raised her eyebrows. It was indeed Lu Han behind the door. ¡°Since when did Young Master have the hobby of watching girls taking a bath?¡± Guan Tong ridiculed Lu Han. However, Guan Tong¡¯s heart was in a panic at this moment. What if Lu Han suddenly barged in? He would discover her natural appearance. ¡°I want to go in and get something.¡± Lu Han felt that this girl was a little too sharp. Could it be that she still had more secrets that he wasn¡¯t aware of? ¡°Get something? What do you want? I¡¯m taking a bath.¡± Guan Tong was surprised and displeased. Lu Han¡¯s actions were not courteous at all. ¡°I won¡¯t look.¡± Lu Han said as he walked into the bathroom. Thud! The bathroom door was pulled open by Lu Han. Fortunately, there was a curtain separating the two. ¡°Lu Han, don¡¯t come in yet!¡± Guan Tong¡¯s voice suddenly turned cold.. Chapter 34 - Almost Exposed Again! Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation Lu Han was stunned when he heard Guan Tong¡¯s cold voice. Guan Tong could also be so fickle sometimes. He didn¡¯t expect her to have such an unfriendly attitude towards him. ¡°What I want is inside the bathroom.¡± Lu Han was losing his patience and answered. Guan Tong gritted her teeth. It was too late to put on her prosthetic mask. If Lu Han had found out, she couldn¡¯t imagine what was going to happen to her. The sound of Lu Han¡¯s footsteps was getting closer. Guan Tong immediately grabbed her prosthetic mask and crouched underwater. As Lu Han pulled open the curtain, he saw no one inside. There was only a tiny bathtub full of bubbles that were almost overflowing. ¡°Why are you hiding in the water?¡± Lu Han yelled out in confusion. Guan Tong was speechless when she heard Lu Han¡¯s words. This arrogant man even dared to ask her why she was hiding under the water even though he was the one who barged in during her bath without her consent. ¡°Come out! There¡¯s nothing to be embarrassed about.¡± The bathtub was filled with bubbles. Even if Guan Tong showed her face, Lu Han knew he wouldn¡¯t see anything else. ¡°¡¡± Guan Tong didn¡¯t reply to Lu Han¡¯s words. ¡°Just come out!¡± Lu Han was utterly puzzled. What was wrong with Guan Tong today? She usually wasn¡¯t a stubborn girl. ¡°¡¡± The silence from Guan Tong persisted. Lu Han didn¡¯t get anything out of her. Lu Han didn¡¯t see any movement in the still water. It seemed to him that Guan Tong was pushing back against him today. Lu Han frowned. He heard that some people could lose their consciousness after falling into a coma after being submerged underwater for too long. He didn¡¯t know whether Guan Tong was still safe under the warm water that long. Lu Han worried that she might have fainted after all that time. Lu Han¡¯s eyes were filled with worry when he thought of this. He quickly reached out to grab Guan Tong¡¯s arm. At this moment, there was a splash. A human figure jumped out of the water, causing a large amount of water to splash over Lu Han¡¯s body. Lu Han quickly retreated, but he was still one step too late. There were bubbles all over his face and clothes, so he quickly covered his eyes with his hands. Guan Tong took advantage of this moment to grab her prosthetic mask and picked up the towel beside her as she ran out. Lu Han only saw a shadow flash past him and subconsciously wanted to chase after her, but the piercing pain in his eyes stopped him from doing so. The bubbles that Guan Tong splashed went all over him. ¡°Ouch!¡± Lu Han cried out in pain. However, Guan Tong had no time to worry about Lu Han. Instead, she ran outside quickly and put on her clothes. She ran far while Lu Han was covering his eyes. Guan Tong was sure that Lu Han hadn¡¯t seen her actual appearance and quickly put on her prosthetic mask. Not long after, Lu Han walked, and he looked like a cat thrown in a washing machine. ¡°Why are you running? I wasn¡¯t trying anything!¡± He wasn¡¯t happy at all. Instead, he looked visibly upset. Guan Tong noticed his expression and was still worried. ¡°Who told you to barge in like that without my permission!¡± Guan Tong refuted. ¡°Okay¡ I was just trying to get my towel. Just go to sleep.¡± Lu Han was annoyed by Guan Tong but tried to laugh it out, and he did not admit that he had other thoughts. ¡°Oh really?¡± Guan Tong was puzzled that Lu Han didn¡¯t seem to worry, and he was letting her off easily. Lu Han took his fresh clothes to shower, and he walked into the same bathroom that Guan Tong had used earlier. She was speechless when she saw Lu Han walk in. She remembered Lu Han being a germaphobe and a hygiene freak. Just as Guan Tong and Lu Han were about to sleep, Green Bay was in an uproar. ¡°Miss Qiao, let go of me!¡± Lin Fei screamed out. ¡°No! You let go of me first, Miss Lin!¡± Qiao Ran yelled back. It turned out that Qiao Ran and Lin Fei were still fighting. Their clothes were already torn apart, and their exquisite hairstyles and makeup became unkempt and unpresentable. The two of them were tugging at each other¡¯s hair and pulling each other¡¯s clothes apart. None of them was willing to let go. ¡°Let go of me first!¡± Qiao Ran screamed again. Since she was young, she had been pampered and had never been in a fight before. She didn¡¯t want to stoop to Lin Fei¡¯s level, and her lips were already bruised from the fight. ¡°You first.¡± Lin Fei¡¯s condition was only a little better than Qiao Ran¡¯s. Qiao Ran had already scratched up Lin Fei¡¯s face. The two were almost unrecognizable from the fight and looked completely different from where they started. ¡°Why don¡¯t I count to three, and we just let go?¡± Qiao Ran was in so much pain from Lin Fei¡¯s grip that tears were coming out of her eyes. ¡°Fine!¡± Lin Fei screamed in the stalemate. ¡°One¡ two¡ three!¡± After Qiao Ran counted to three, the two still were unwilling to let go of each other. Instead, they held onto each other¡¯s hair even tighter, causing the two girls to scream out in pain. In the end, Qiao Ran and Lin Fei had to be pulled away by the servants. ¡°Did Brother Han bring you back here?¡± Qiao Ran asked, unwilling to give up. ¡°Why would I lie?¡± Although Lin Fei was in an apologetic state, she still held her head high and puffed out her chest with a proud look on her face. ¡°I don¡¯t believe you. I¡¯ll ask him myself when he comes back later!¡± Qiao Ran was still not giving up. Lin Fei¡¯s obedient and proper look infuriated Qiao Ran. However, Lin Fei and Qiao Ran waited for Lu Han in the hall for the whole night and did not see him. In the end, the two girls both fell asleep on the sofa.. Chapter 35 - Being Threatened Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation Guan Tong woke up the next day, and the sky was already bright. She had a good sleep last night. She didn¡¯t know why, but she felt very safe. ¡°How was your sleep?¡± Lu Han looked at the well-rested Guan Tong and asked. ¡°I slept quite well.¡± Guan Tong told him the truth. Lu Han smiled lovingly. Guan Tong, who had just woken up, looked like a cute kitten, but she was a kitten that could scratch people up. ¡°Get up and have your breakfast. Grandmother should have already asked someone to prepare it for you,¡± Lu Han said. Guan Tong was slightly confused when she heard Lu Han¡¯s words, as he talked to her like an old married couple. Guan Tong shook her head and brushed away her fantasies. ¡°Okay, let¡¯s go down. We shouldn¡¯t let Grandmother wait for too long.¡± Lu Han brought Guan Tong to the dining hall. The Old Madam looked at Guan Tong with concern, but her eyes drifted to Lu Han as if asking whether Lu Han took good care of Guan Tong last night. Lu Han understood the Old Madam¡¯s gaze and nodded immediately. Only then did the Old Madam feel relieved. ¡°Grandmother, the Cheongsam you¡¯re wearing today is beautiful.¡± Today, the Old Madam wore a red Cheongsam, making her look even younger and festive. ¡°My granddaughter-in-law has good taste.¡± Sure enough, the Old Madam was pleased with Guan Tong¡¯s compliment. After they ate, Guan Tong accompanied the Old Madam to tea. Then, she heard the phone ring and looked at the familiar number on the screen. It was Zhang Lin on the other end. Guan Tong looked at it with an empty gaze. ¡°What do you want now?¡± She unwillingly answered. ¡°You ugly girl, why are you talking to your aunt with this tone?¡± Zhang Lin was displeased with Guan Tong¡¯s tone. Guan Tong sneered. She never saw Zhang Lin as her aunt. ¡°Just tell me what you want.¡± Guan Tong didn¡¯t have time to keep Zhang Lin on the call as she wanted to go to the hospital to see her grandmother later. ¡°Come back here for a while. I have something to tell you.¡± Zhang Lin¡¯s tone was full of pride. ¡°Why do I have to go back?¡± Guan Tong didn¡¯t see any reason to return to the Lin family home. ¡°Think about your grandmother.¡± Zhang Lin was proud when she brought up Guan Tong¡¯s grandmother as leverage. Guan Tong hated it. Zhang Lin used her grandmother to threaten her again. Unfortunately, she couldn¡¯t afford to pay for her grandmother¡¯s treatment, and she wouldn¡¯t ask Lu Han for money either. For a moment, she was stuck in a dilemma. ¡°Okay, fine, I¡¯ll go back now.¡± Guan Tong gritted her teeth as she agreed to the appointment. Zhang Lin was pleased that she could boss Guan Tong around. The ugly girl cared about her grandmother the most, so Zhang Lin saw it as the right choice to use Guan Tong¡¯s grandmother to threaten the girl. ¡°Grandmother, I have to head out first.¡± Guan Tong thought it was better to tell the Old Madam. ¡°Alright, do you want Han¡¯er to go with you?¡± The Old Madam put down the teacup and asked with concern. ¡°It¡¯s not necessary. He just woke up from his coma. I think he should just rest at home.¡± Guan Tong said. Old Madam looked at her with such love. How kind and understanding must this girl be? ¡ Guan Tong walked through the door at the Lin family home, and her face was expressionless. If it weren¡¯t for her grandmother, she wouldn¡¯t have tolerated these people to this degree. ¡°Why did you look for me¡¡± Before Guan Tong could finish her words, she saw Lin Tian sitting on the sofa. ¡°Uncle?¡± Guan Tong couldn¡¯t remember how long it had been since she last saw Lin Tian. She still remembered how much Lin Tian loved her when she was young but who would have thought that things would turn out like this. Lin Tian¡¯s face was similar to Guan Tong¡¯s mother¡¯s, which caught her off guard, but she quickly regained composure. ¡°Tongtong, are you here to see me?¡± Lin Tian quickly stood up. Lin Tian once felt sorry for Guan Tong in the past, who would know that it would later turn out to be himself blinded by money. ¡°Huh? Don¡¯t you know who she is now? Why would she come to see you?¡± Zhang Lin ridiculed her husband. Lin Tian¡¯s face turned red with anger when he heard Zhang Lin¡¯s words. They were the ones who forced the identity of the Lu family¡¯s Young Madam onto Guan Tong. Now Zhang Lin was the one who ridiculed him for being beneath his niece. ¡°Stop talking!¡± Lin Tian yelled to Zhang Lin. Zhang Lin snorted coldly. She knew that the man she married was too indecisive and weak. Back then, when they were fighting for the family property, she was the one who blew the wind on Guan Tong¡¯s family. At first, Lin Tian was unwilling to let Guan Tong marry into the Lu family on behalf of Lin Fei no matter what. However, after Zhang Lin and Lin Fei¡¯s continuous nagging, he finally agreed. ¡°Tongtong, I¡¯m so sorry for what I did to you.¡± Lin Tian didn¡¯t want Guan Tong to be the substitute wife for the Lu family, but he couldn¡¯t bear to part with his daughter. Guan Tong felt the urge to cry when she heard Lin Tian¡¯s words. She didn¡¯t know where it started, but her loving uncle started to distance himself from her. In the end, he kicked her out of his family and forced her to marry Lu Han. ¡°Tongtong, if you need anything in the future, just come to me. I¡¯ll do my best to help you.¡± Lin Tian knew that he owed Guan Tong a lot. Guan Tong could tell that the guilt on Lin Tian¡¯s face was not fake. It seemed that his uncle still had some humanity left in him. ¡°I know, Uncle.¡± Lin Tian was overjoyed when he heard Guan Tong call him uncle as he hadn¡¯t heard it for a long time. ¡°Didn¡¯t you call me here today to threaten me for something?¡± Guan Tong turned to Zhang Lin and asked. Zhang Lin was stunned. She wanted to take advantage of Lin Tian¡¯s absence to negotiate with Guan Tong, but it didn¡¯t matter.. That old grandmother of Guan Tong had nothing to do with Lin Tian, so what if Zhang Lin would use her as a bargaining chip? Chapter 36 - Is That Guy Lu Han? Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation ¡°Threaten you?¡± Lin Tian could not understand why Tongtong said that Zhang Lin threatened her. Zhang Lin saw Lin Tian¡¯s expression and said, ¡°Tongtong is always talking nonsense. I¡¯ve only asked her to come back to discuss some things, but she always assumed the worst of me.¡± ¡°Weren¡¯t you the one who used Grandmother to threaten me?¡± Guan Tong scoffed at Zhang Lin¡¯s excuse. Zhang Lin¡¯s ability to manipulate right and wrong to do her dishonest work never changed. Lin Tian still trusted Guan Tong because the closest to Guan Tong was only her grandmother. Moreover, Guan Tong probably hated the Lin family to the bone now. If it weren¡¯t for the extremely urgent matter, Guan Tong probably wouldn¡¯t come back here, and he was sure that Guan Tong had the interest just to go and visit any of them. ¡°You did such a thing?¡± Although Lin Tian was sometimes weak and incompetent, there were some things that he couldn¡¯t bear to let happen. ¡°Hmm, if I don¡¯t do such a thing, would you have agreed to me? You have to know that the Lu family invested in our family because you married this girl into the Lu family. Otherwise, the Lin family would have long gone bankrupt. If this matter is exposed, we¡¯ll be in for a long haul!¡± Zhang Lin defended her actions. She was livid at her husband¡¯s words, so she explained everything. Zhang Lin felt that Guan Tong was already fortunate to marry into the Lu family. She would enjoy life with the riches and comfort of the Lu family. Moreover, she was so ugly. Zhang Lin couldn¡¯t see how Guan Tong could have a better life. ¡°Ugh¡¡± Lin Tian struggled. He had to admit that what Zhang Lin said was right. If they didn¡¯t sacrifice Guan Tong, everyone in the Lin family would struggle even to afford food. ¡°Tongtong, why don¡¯t you¡listen to your aunt.¡± Lin Tian was defeated. Guan Tong finally understood why Zhang Lin asked her to come back. Zhang Lin must have found out that Lin Fei was taken away by Lu Han and was afraid that Lin Fei would say something. However, Lin Fei was taken away under Guan Tong¡¯s name. Guan Tong felt a chill in her heart when she heard Lin Tian¡¯s words. Her uncle¡¯s heart indeed ached for her. However, this kind of heartache could never be compared to his love for his daughter, Lin Fei, his own family, or even his money. That was the reason Lin Tian had chosen to swallow his anger. As to why he made his decision and allowed such acts from Zhang Lin to happen, Guan Tong had no reason to ask further, and she did not want to hear any sad excuse that would come from him. ¡°Did you meet Lu Han before a few months back?¡± Zhang Lin asked. Guan Tong was confused by Zhang Lin¡¯s question, see Lu Han? Why would Zhang Lin want to know? Guan Tong had clear memories of all the people she had seen before, except that night. Guan Tong suddenly remembered that Lu Han could be the man from that night, yet she was too flustered then. She didn¡¯t see the man¡¯s face. Besides, nobody would know this except herself and that mysterious man. ¡°I haven¡¯t seen him before the marriage.¡± Guan Tong thought that Zhang Lin must have heard something from Lin Fei, so she denied it. Zhang Lin, however, didn¡¯t believe it. Lu Han was obviously coming for Guan Tong. How could she not have seen him before? ¡°Did you get the wrong person?¡± Guan Tong also didn¡¯t believe it. Was Lu Han the man from that night? ¡°How is that possible?¡± Zhang Lin didn¡¯t believe it at all. If she hadn¡¯t seen him before, why would Lu Han come and look for Guan Tong from her name? ¡°How is that possible? You¡¯d better ask what your precious daughter is doing outside.¡± Guan Tong said sarcastically. ¡°No matter what, you¡¯ll always be Lin Fei. Don¡¯t tell anyone about who you are. It doesn¡¯t matter if you knew Lu Han before or not. If you dare to say a word to him about your real identity, your grandmother better watch her back.¡± Guan Tong¡¯s words hurt Zhang Lin, so she threatened her. ¡°What did you just say?¡± Guan Tong couldn¡¯t believe that someone would be so shameless to cling onto the Lu family¡¯s leg. ¡°You ugly girl, are you deaf? Can¡¯t you understand me?¡± Because of Zhang Lin¡¯s audacious words, Guan Tong could not react in time. Zhang Lin was too shameless to use Guan Tong¡¯s grandmother as leverage against her maliciously. ¡°You¡¡± Before Guan Tong could speak, she heard a sharp voice from outside. ¡°Mother¡¡± Guan Tong was stunned. Why was this sharp voice so familiar? Then, everyone saw that it was Lin Fei who had returned. However, Lin Fei¡¯s clothes were tattered, her hair was messy, and there were bloody cuts on her face. Lin family¡¯s usually exquisite ¡°Little Princess¡± was now worse than a street beggar. ¡°Fei¡¯er, what¡¯s happened to you?¡± Zhang Lin saw Lin Fei and rushed up to her with a look of concern on her face. Zhang Lin had always treated her daughter with a kid glove as if her daughter would break at a slight touch. Zhang Lin had never seen her daughter like this. ¡°Mother¡¡± Lin Fei threw herself into Zhang Lin¡¯s arms and cried out loud. She had never been wronged like this since she was young too. Her tears flowed to her bloodied face, causing Lin Fei to gasp in pain. She quickly pushed Zhang Lin away. ¡°Fei¡¯er, what happened? How did you end up like this?¡± They thought that perhaps, the Young Master of the Lu family was a sadist. Maybe he abused Lin Fei? Zhang Lin was guessing in her head, what if the Young Master of the Lu family liked to hurt girls for fun? At this moment, Lu Han sneezed a few times.. Was someone talking about him behind his back? Chapter 37 - The Search for Guan Tong Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation ¡°I just arrived at Green Bay. I didn¡¯t expect that there would be another young woman inside. The two of us¡¡± Lin Fei was too embarrassed to say that she wanted to compete with Guan Tong. ¡°We got into a row, but she made the first attack.¡± Lin Fei¡¯s ability to manipulate right and wrong was on par with her mother. Zhang Lin exploded immediately when she heard Lin Fei¡¯s words. Who would dare to hit her daughter? That girl was messing with the wrong family! Guan Tong didn¡¯t want to watch this mother-daughter drama. Just as she was about to leave, she saw Lin Fei looking at her viciously. ¡°It¡¯s all your fault. You should have been the one to suffer.¡± She was about to hit Guan Tong as she spoke, and Guan Tong dodged. She wouldn¡¯t let Lin Fei hit her. Lin Fei missed and almost fell to the ground. ¡°You little b*tch, why did you move?¡± Zhang Lin screamed and quickly helped Lin Fei up. Guan Tong felt that there was something wrong with both of them. If someone was about to hit her, why would she just stupidly stand there? ¡°That¡¯s enough!¡± At that moment, Lin Tian finally understood what had happened and immediately shouted. Although Lin Tian was usually weak and incompetent, if he were to get angry, even Zhang Lin and Lin Fei would be afraid of his wrath. ¡°What are you shouting for?¡± Although Zhang Lin was afraid that Lin Tian would get angry in the past, at this moment, Zhang Lin was already blinded by Lin Fei¡¯s beating that she couldn¡¯t bear her anger anymore. ¡°You b*itch! What were you thinking?¡± Lin Tian also felt sorry for his daughter. ¡°My daughter was bullied and beaten. You should get her justice if you have such ability.¡± Zhang Lin said sarcastically, while Lin Fei cried at the side. Lin Tian was resentful. How could he marry such a hateful woman who was this blind? What kind of justice could he get from the Lu family? Lin Fei was willing to leave with Lu Han, and it wasn¡¯t Lu Han who beat Lin Fei up. Last night, Lu Han and Guan Tong went back to the Lu family¡¯s Old Mansion. Only Lin Fei and that woman there were set up by Lu Han. Lin Tian saw nothing he could do since Lu Han almost had nothing to do with it. The Lin family would get nothing out of this to go after Lu Han, except the embarrassment. Zhang Lin wasn¡¯t thinking straight. Her mind was clouded by the anger of seeing her daughter being humiliated. Lin Fei hated Guan Tong to death. She felt that it wasn¡¯t enough that Guan Tong¡¯s face was scarred. In the past, when Guan Tong¡¯s parents were still alive, Guan Tong was the Little Princess of the Guan family. She was lifted and was the center of attention all the time. Everyone praised her for her smartness, liveliness, and beauty. It was like everyone saw her in the best light and had never-ending praises for Guan Tong. Lin Fei envied her cousin. They were born on the same day, they were bonded by blood, yet they were treated differently. After Guan Tong¡¯s parents passed away, Lin Fei found peace in her heart. After the tragedy, Guan¡¯s family assets were allocated to the Lin family. Lin Fei rejoiced and celebrated. Now that the Little Princess was disfigured and married into Lu¡¯s family. Guan Tong no longer had any value in Lin Fei¡¯s eyes. In Lin Fei¡¯s heart, she felt that she could still be the Young Madam of the Lu family. She only had to get rid of Guan Tong, the ugly girl. Only dead men don¡¯t talk. Guan Tong had long gotten used to how Lin Fei looked at her. She already knew the look that Lin Fei gave her, the malicious intent as if she wanted to kill Guan Tong. In the beginning, Guan Tong did not understand how she had offended her cousin. Later on, Guan Tong understood that some people did not need to be offended to hate someone. Lin Fei¡¯s jealousy made it all possible. ¡°Madam, Young Master Lu is here.¡± At that moment, the housekeeper of the Lin family suddenly rushed in with a panic. Everyone was stunned. Had Lu Han come over? Who exactly was Lu Han looking for? In the eyes of Zhang Lin and Lin Fei, he must have come all this way looking for Lin Fei. Lin Fei quickly ran into the house as she could not let the Young Master of the Lu family see her wretched appearance. ¡°Young Master.¡± Lu Han walked in. His aura struck everyone in the Lin family like lightning. Even Lin Tian felt the pressuring atmosphere. The Young Master of the Lu family truly lived up to his reputation. Lu Han looked around and saw Guan Tong standing there in perfect condition. Only then did he heave a sigh of relief. Fortunately, Guan Tong was fine. Otherwise, he would have stomped the Lin family into the ground today. ¡°Is the Young Master here to see Tongtong today? Tongtong came back earlier this morning, but she said that she was wronged.¡± Zhang Lin looked troubled and decided to strike up a conversation. Lu Han couldn¡¯t care less what happened to Lin Fei. He could also guess that Lin Fei most likely got into a fight with Qiao Ran. Today, Uncle Tang also reported the situation in Green Bay to him. ¡°Alright.¡± Lu Han acknowledged calmly. Guan Tong was stunned. Was he here to look for Lin Fei? Was Lin Fei that important to Lu Han? Guan Tong¡¯s heart trembled. She did not know what to feel about this situation. At that moment, the real Lin Fei walked out after finishing dressing up. She reapplied her exquisite makeup, but the cuts on her face were still visible. She also had to withstand the pain on her face as she applied her makeup, making Lin Fei hate Guan Tong even more. If Guan Tong knew what Lin Fei was thinking, she would have scolded Lin Fei for being neurotic.. It wasn¡¯t her who attacked her, so why was Lin Fei blaming her for getting into a fight with Qiao Ran? Chapter 38 - Young Madam Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation How could Lu Han know that she was here? Guan Tong was confused whether Lu Han was there to look for Lin Fei? Guan Tong began to recall if she had ever interacted with Lu Han before marriage. ¡°Brother Han, you¡¯re here looking for me?¡± Lin Fei was shameless. She immediately took her seat. Lin Fei was acting timid. Those who did not know better would have thought that something had happened between her and Lu Han last night, and it was not the fight between her and Qiao Ran as well. Lu Han raised his eyebrows. He could tell that Lin Fei caked her makeup on, but it could not cover up the scars on her face. It seemed that the fight between the two must¡¯ve been rough. ¡°I¡¯m here to pick up my wife and bring her home.¡± Lu Han¡¯s words shocked everyone. What did he mean by picking up his wife and bringing her home? ¡°Brother Han came all this way to pick me up?¡± At this moment, Lin Fei was already floating in the air, thinking that he was talking about her. ¡°Young Master, did Fei¡¯er cause you any trouble? Please tell me, and I¡¯ll scold her for you.¡± Zhang Lin said as she glared at Guan Tong. ¡°She¡¯s the Young Madam of the Lu family. No one shall lay a hand on her.¡± Lu Han sternly brushed off Zhang Lin. Everyone was stunned, even Guan Tong. She was surprised that Lu Han was protecting her. ¡°Young Master, what are you talking about?¡± Lin Fei¡¯s face was filled with disbelief. Why would Lu Han protect this ugly girl? ¡°Did you not hear what I said?¡± Lu Han could not imagine how Guan Tong had been bullied and mistreated in the past. If it were not because Lin Fei was related to Guan Tong by blood, he would have bought the Lin family business long ago. But to buy the Lin family business? Lu Han suddenly felt that it was a good idea to do so. When the time came, it would be a good idea to let Guan Tong be the leader of Lin¡¯s family business. If she were not willing, he would leave it to someone else to manage. Lin Tian didn¡¯t know that his family business would soon be taken over by someone else. ¡°Listen¡ Listen carefully.¡± Zhang Lin said as she pulled Lin Fei to the side. ¡°What¡¯s going on?¡± Lin Fei whispered. ¡°How would I know?¡± Ever since Lu Han came in, he didn¡¯t even look at her, let alone care about her. Instead, he was protecting Guan Tong. Lin Fei wondered if Lu Han knew her real identity. If that were the case, she would not have acted nonchalantly. In an instant, Lin Fei¡¯s mind was filled with many thoughts. ¡°Young Master, you and Tongtong¡¡± Zhang Lin tried probing Lu Han. ¡°Oh, she didn¡¯t tell you about what happened yesterday?¡± How could she not tell them anything? Lin Fei had told Zhang Lin everything. But Lu Han wanted to make things difficult for the Lin family. Lin Fei stuttered. She couldn¡¯t tell Lu Han that she was fighting with Qiao Ran last night. That would ruin Lu Han¡¯s impression of her. ¡°Brother Han¡ I didn¡¯t do it on purpose. It was Qiao Ran who started attacking me!¡± Lu Han raised his eyebrows to Lin Fei¡¯s excuse. He didn¡¯t care who made the first move. ¡°You¡¯ve caused me trouble. Someone from the Qiao family came.¡± Lu Han¡¯s tone was cold. The Qiao family was from Beijing. Even they were not someone the Lin family could afford to offend because the illegitimate daughter of the Qiao family was also the daughter-in-law of the Lu family. ¡°Which Qiao family?¡± Lin Fei did not know any Qiao family, so her tone was filled with arrogance. ¡°Hush now!¡± Zhang Lin scolded Lin Fei to stop talking. Not everyone knew that Liu Juan was the illegitimate daughter of the Qiao family. It was typical for the younger generation not to know, but it was apparent in the eyes of Zhang Lin and many older women of the Capital. It was a secret that many people from the older generation were aware of. Therefore, even if the Qiao family behaved normally like any other family. No one would dare to cross them due to Liu Juan¡¯s position in the Lu family. ¡°Mother¡¡± Lin Fei wanted to push further, but she was frightened by Zhang Lin¡¯s glance. ¡°Then maybe we let Lin Fei go apologize to Miss Qiao?¡± Zhang Lin lowered her voice and asked Lu Han. She wanted Guan Tong to apologize to Qiao Ran as Lin Fei. ¡°You can contact the Qiao family regarding this yourself. My wife doesn¡¯t need to apologize to anyone, and I¡¯m only here to take my wife home.¡± Lu Han was adamant in his purpose. He even blamed himself for coming to Guan Tong¡¯s rescue this late. Lin Tian was an experienced and tactful person. He could see that the way Lu Han looked at Lin Fei was not warm at all. On the contrary, the way he looked at Guan Tong was filled with tenderness. Hence, he understood that regardless of whether Lu Han knew the truth, Lin Fei had no chance with Lu Han. ¡°Young Master, we will talk to the Qiao family about this. It¡¯s just a stupid row between the girls.¡± Lu Han sneered. Lin Tian wanted to settle this matter with just one sentence. It wouldn¡¯t be that easy. He brought Lin Fei back just for this scene. He wanted to kill two birds with one stone. He tried to make the Qiao and Lin families suffer. Only then would he have a chance to deal with other matters. ¡°The Lu family has nothing to do with this matter.¡± Lu Han said. Lin Tian heaved a sigh of relief when he heard Lu Han¡¯s words. It seemed that the Lu family would not support the Qiao family. ¡°Then, what about Second Madam¡¡± Lin Tian was worried about Liu Juan. Lu Han was grabbing Guan Tong in his arms at that moment. Lin Tian was talking too much. Lin Tian was frightened by the coldness in Lu Han¡¯s eyes. He knew that he had asked too many questions. Lu Han held Guan Tong in his arms, walked out, and got into the car without more words. Guan Tong did not understand what Lu Han meant by this. ¡°Why are you here today?¡± Guan Tong couldn¡¯t help but ask. ¡°If I didn¡¯t come, the Young Madam of the Lu family would have been bullied to death.¡± Lu Han scoffed. Guan Tong was startled when she heard Lu Han¡¯s words. Perhaps he knew something about her? ¡°What do you mean?¡± Guan Tong nervously asked Lu Han.. Chapter 39 - Grandmother’s Secret Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation ¡°No matter what, you are still the Young Madam of the Lu family.¡± Lu Han added with a genuine tone. Guan Tong heaved a sigh of relief. Fortunately, Lu Han didn¡¯t know anything. ¡°So, Guan Tong is your cousin?¡± Lu Han asked. ¡°Yes, she is.¡± Guan Tong took a deep breath, and she responded. ¡°It seems that your parents treat her quite well.¡± Lu Han said to Guan Tong. ¡°She¡¯s my cousin, after all.¡± Although Guan Tong said this, she felt the irony in her heart. She was Lin Tian¡¯s niece, but what did Lin Tian do to her? He sold her out instead of his daughter. Lu Han looked at the woman in front of him and felt his heartache. It seemed that his plan to acquire the Lin Corporation had to be brought forward and faster. ¡°Mother, how could this be?¡± Meanwhile, Lin Fei was on the verge of breaking down in Lin¡¯s family home. She initially thought that Lu Han was here for her, but she did not expect him to come and take Guan Tong back instead of her. ¡°I still have some questions for you.¡± Zhang Lin was not particularly clear about what happened yesterday, and she was furious at this moment. ¡°Enough! What have you two done while you were there?¡± Although Lin Tian had agreed to let Guan Tong take Lin Fei¡¯s place in the marriage, it didn¡¯t mean that he could tolerate Zhang Lin and Lin Fei¡¯s misdeeds. ¡°You still dare question what we were up to? Don¡¯t you have any concern for the Lin family¡¯s future?¡± Zhang Lin saw that Lin Tian was angry at her, and she didn¡¯t want to be stepped over. Lin Tian snorted coldly. They had been married for so many years, and he still couldn¡¯t wrap his head around his wife¡¯s logic. Even though Zhang Lin said that it was for the Lin family, the truth was she did it all for her wealth and glory. Lin Tian sighed in his heart. He wanted to believe Zhang Lin¡¯s words. He wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt as husband and wife and their years of marriage. Lin Fei was livid at what happened, so she went upstairs. Zhang Lin saw her precious daughter angry and followed her upstairs to calm her down. ¡°Fei¡¯er, Fei¡¯er¡¡± Zhang Lin closed Lin Fei¡¯s door behind. ¡°Mother¡¡± Lin Fei let out a sigh with frustration. ¡°Judging from our current situation, we can¡¯t keep that ugly girl around anymore.¡± Zhang Lin said quietly. ¡°Mother, what are you saying?¡± Lin Fei suddenly raised her head. Zhang Lin looked at Lin Fei and dragged her finger across her neck, and made a gesture of cutting her throat. Lin Fei¡¯s heart tightened. She understood what her mother meant. She had hated Guan Tong for many years, but she had never thought of letting Guan Tong die. Now that Zhang Lin had said it out loud, Lin Fei felt satisfaction in her heart. ¡°When do we make our move?¡± Lin Fei¡¯s eyes flashed with excitement. If Guan Tong was dead, Lu Han might have been interested in her. ¡°As soon as possible, of course.¡± Zhang Lin answered in a malicious tone. ¡°Okay, mother. We will succeed.¡± Lin Fei held onto Zhang Lin¡¯s hand tightly. The events of the past two days had dealt a massive blow to her. She hated Guan Tong to the core. ¡°Fei¡¯er, don¡¯t worry. When that ugly girl dies, whether it¡¯s the position of the Lu family¡¯s Young Madam or the Guan family¡¯s heirloom, they¡¯ll all be ours.¡± For her daughter¡¯s happiness, Zhang Lin had to succeed. ¡°What exactly is the Guan family¡¯s heirloom?¡± Lin Fei had always heard Zhang Lin say this, but she had no idea what it was. The sick Grandmother doesn¡¯t even have a place to live. What heirloom could she possibly have? Zhang Lin had not seen it either, but she knew Guan Tong must have it. At that moment, Guan Tong felt that something was very wrong with Lu Han, but she couldn¡¯t tell where it was. Moreover, she also felt that something was wrong with herself too. Guan Tong wasn¡¯t sure if it was because she had been with Lu Han for too long. Sometimes she couldn¡¯t help but be moved by Lu Han¡¯s words. ¡°When you go back, maybe you could give me an acupuncture session.¡± Lu Han tilted his head and looked at the girl beside him. ¡°Sure, of course.¡± Guan Tong agreed. She gave Lu Han acupuncture sessions and studied medical books every day for the past few days. She felt that her skills had improved a lot. After going back, Lu Han took a bath in hot water while Guan Tong stayed outside to read more medical books. Guan Tong looked at the patterns on those books and fell into deep thought. Although her neighbor¡¯s grandfather taught her medical knowledge, this medical book was given to her by her grandmother. Guan Tong had always thought that her grandmother was an ordinary old woman, but why would an ordinary woman like her own a book like this? She felt that she may have misjudged her grandmother¡¯s character. Thinking of her grandmother, Guan Tong thought of her lying unconscious on the hospital bed and could not help but feel even more dispirited. No matter what secrets her grandmother had, she would always do what was best for Guan Tong. Grandmother had always painstakingly taken care of her with great hardship and was her only remaining family member. Guan Tong knew that saving her grandmother was her most important goal. She couldn¡¯t bear to be in this world without her grandmother. Guan Tong shook her head and brushed away the thoughts in her mind. She started rereading her grandmother¡¯s medical book. She wasn¡¯t only looking to heal Lu Han, but she was also looking for a cure for her grandmother. Lu Han saw this scene after he came out of the bath. The girl was so invested in reading the medical book in her hand, her neck was as beautiful as a swan and was slightly bent forward, and her hair was rolling down, framing her cheeks.. Chapter 40 - Who is She? Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation ¡°You¡¯re out already. Alright, lie down on the bed.¡± Guan Tong was startled by the sound of Lu Han opening the door. Lu Han obediently lay down on the bed and closed his eyes. Guan Tong admired Lu Han¡¯s endurance. Because the algidity in Lu Han¡¯s body was strong, the process of acupuncture was excruciating, but Lu Han was able to push through the severe pain. Guan Tong understood why the Lu family could be secure in Lu Han¡¯s hands. ¡°Alright.¡± For Lu Han, the difficult period had already passed. ¡°Okay.¡± As she packed the needles, Guan Tong said, ¡°I want to go see Grandmother tomorrow.¡± Lu Han was supposed to go with Guan Tong, but the entire Lu family knew that he had woken up already. There was already a commotion, so he had to go to the company and deal with all sorts of business matters. ¡°Okay, I¡¯ll get a driver to take you there tomorrow.¡± Lu Han¡¯s original intention was to prevent Guan Tong from exhaustion, but Guan Tong misunderstood. She thought Lu Han wanted to send someone there to spy on her. ¡°Okay.¡± Guan Tong did not refuse. In the blink of an eye, it was the next day. Guan Tong carefully hid her medical book. This was the so-called heirloom that the Lin family had always wanted if she was not wrong. When Guan Tong arrived at the hospital, she saw her grandmother¡¯s attending doctor. ¡°Doctor, how has my grandmother been these past few days?¡± She asked. ¡°Oh, it¡¯s you. Your grandmother¡¯s condition has been stabilized, but if she wakes up, we¡¯ll have to take a look again.¡± The doctor turned his head and saw that it was Guan Tong. Guan Tong had already mentally prepared herself before she came. ¡°Okay, thank you, Doctor Liang.¡± Doctor Liang looked at Guan Tong as if she was his daughter. This child was so sad. Doctor Liang patted Guan Tong¡¯s shoulder to comfort her. ¡°Child, don¡¯t worry. Good things happen to good people. Your grandmother will be fine.¡± The doctor knew that when Guan Tong¡¯s grandmother was still awake, she was the most admirable and the kindest out of all people. Doctor Liang recalled how good of a person grandmother was. ¡°Thank you, Doctor Liang.¡± Guan Tong smiled as she answered. ¡°Now, quick. Let¡¯s go and see your grandmother.¡± Doctor Liang invited Guan Tong into the room. ¡°Okay.¡± She nervously agreed. When Guan Tong entered, she saw a beam of warm sunlight shining on her grandmother¡¯s face. The ambiance was calm and peaceful, and her grandmother looked no different from before. Guan Tong sniffed when she saw her grandmother. It would be great if she were awake right now. Guan Tong sat on the chair and held her grandmother¡¯s hand. ¡°Grandmother, do you know that there have been bad people wanting to hurt me these days?¡± Guan Tong was still like a little girl when she was with her grandmother. ¡°But Grandmother, don¡¯t worry. I¡¯ve already chased them all away.¡± Guan Tong laughed as she spoke, crying and laughing simultaneously as if it was the embodiment of her whole life. When Guan Tong came out of the hospital, it was already dark. Guan Tong only wanted to stay with her grandmother for a while, but she didn¡¯t expect it to be this late. Guan Tong walked into the underground parking lot. The driver of the Lu family was there. She felt that something was wrong. She felt that someone was following her. Guan Tong turned her body and hid behind a pillar. Sure enough, she saw a man wearing a cap and a mask behind her. When he saw that Guan Tong was gone, he looked around for her. There was still some distance between her and the driver of the Lu family. If she took care of this man here, no one would know. As for the surveillance cameras, Guan Tong had a plan to lead the man in the cap away from the cameras. Then, she started moving. ¡°Are you looking for me?¡± Guan Tong appeared and said to the man innocently. When the man saw Guan Tong¡¯s face, he knew that he had found the right person. The employer had been told that this girl was hideous with prominent scars on her face. It seemed like he got the right girl. ¡°Little girl. You sure are brave.¡± As the man spoke, he started attacking Guan Tong. ¡°I have destroyed the surveillance cameras here. Even if you die here today, no one will know.¡± The man said as he started to attack Guan Tong. Guan Tong dodged the man¡¯s attack. She raised her eyebrows. The surveillance cameras had been destroyed? Things were going her way. She did not need to expend any effort to lure the man to a place without surveillance cameras. The man was surprised when he saw Guan Tong dodge his attack. He didn¡¯t expect Guan Tong to know any combat skills, and she was pretty agile too. It seemed that the man had underestimated this ugly little girl. Guan Tong scoffed. If this man intended to kill her, he would find that she was not an easy task. ¡°Who sent you?¡± Guan Tong asked. ¡°Are you supposed to know my employer¡¯s information?¡± As he spoke, the man attacked Guan Tong again. Since the man didn¡¯t answer, Guan Tong didn¡¯t blame him. She increased her strength and changed her strategy from a defense to an offense. Guan Tong continued to beat the man as he retreated step by step. ¡°Are you going to go away on your own, or should I have someone carrying you out?¡± She threatened. The man was frozen by the malicious intent in Guan Tong¡¯s eyes. She wasn¡¯t an ordinary girl. If he kept on persisting, he knew he would be the one who would die. The girl¡¯s eyes that he saw were the eyes of someone who had killed a person before. With that thought in mind, the man quickly scurried away. Guan Tong did not know that what had happened was seen by a pair of eyes not too far away. Lu Han had just finished dealing with the company¡¯s matters when he rushed over to see her. Unexpectedly, he saw the scene in front of him. Guan Tong¡¯s every move was like something he¡¯d seen on a battlefield.. Lu Han wondered who Guan Tong truly was?
