"At that moment, a guy landed near us. He had gray eyes and a small ponytail."
"Allow me to introduce myself," ¡ª he said. ¡ª "My name is Tadoki Kishizu, a second-year student from Mirougi College."
"Nice to meet you," ¡ª I replied. ¡ª "I¡¯m Akusa Takaru, and this is Tasume Sukuzu."
"Did you need something?" ¡ª I asked.
I was surprised by his friendliness, given we looked like beaten strangers.
"I saw you heading toward the kingdom and thought you might need help. And now, seeing that you¡¯re a bit battered, I wanted to know what happened to you. Were you in the Forest of Death?"
"You could say that¡" ¡ª I answered evasively, deciding not to tell everything.
"Are you mages?" ¡ª asked Tadoki.
"Yeah," ¡ª answered Tasume.
"Then why aren¡¯t you flying like everyone else?"
"We¡¯re beginners in magic and don¡¯t know much," ¡ª lied Tasu. (We hoped to learn more in the kingdom.)
Newbies? Somehow, I doubt that...
"I see. Let me help you," ¡ª offered Tadoki.
Ahead of us, a door appeared, and he opened it.
"Come with me."
We stepped through the door and found ourselves at the entrance to the kingdom.
"Wow, thank you so much!" ¡ª exclaimed Tasu.
"No problem. Here¡¯s a city map, it¡¯ll help you get around," ¡ª Tadoki said, handing us a magical map.
"This is a magical map. Just say where you want to go, and it¡¯ll show the way, but only within the city."
"Thanks!" ¡ª I said.
"Alright, I have things to do. I think we¡¯ll meet again," ¡ª said Tadoki, creating another door and disappearing.
"Okay, first let¡¯s find a public bath and clean up," ¡ª I suggested.
"A bath?! I¡¯m totally in!"
"Well¡ Let¡¯s try it. How do we get to the bath?" ¡ª Tasu asked the map.
The route appeared on the map, indicating a path through two blocks.
"Alright, let¡¯s go."
The town was large and old. All the streets led to the center, where there was a large fountain.
On a rise stood the palace. The map indicated that it was the Magical Academy.
Volume 1 Chapter 2 "Awakening After a Thousand Years â„–2"
We approached the bathhouse, and an elderly woman was sitting at the entrance.
"Hello, how much is the entry fee?" asked Tasu.
"It''s free for you."
"Free? But why?"
"You look tired, and it seems you haven''t been to a bath in a long time."
"Thank you!" I said. "By the way, what currency is used here?"
"Piruui."
"And where can we buy clothes?" Tasu asked.
"You don¡¯t have any money, do you?" the grandmother asked.
"Unfortunately, no."
"We have a small shop where you can take clothes for free, especially for newcomers."
"Thank you very much."
The grandmother was very kind and showed us the location of the shop on the map. After that, we headed to the bathhouse.
"It''s been so long since I''ve been to a bath," said Tasu.
"Yeah, since the start of the war. Do you remember how long it lasted?"
"We were involved for about two weeks," Tasu replied.
"We should ask the grandmother what year it is."
"Right! I think a lot of time has passed..."
Thirty minutes later...
"That was a good bath!" I said.
"I agree, it was a great bath," Tasu supported me. "We should come again."
We went outside and approached the grandmother.
"How was the bath?" she asked.
"Just great!" Tasu said, stretching.
"By the way, could you tell us what year it is?"
"The year 3400."
"Thank you very much. We¡¯ll be going then."
This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it.
"Strange kids, though nice," the grandmother muttered.
"Akusa, do you remember what year the war started?" Tasu asked.
"I think it was 2400."
"So, we were sealed for a thousand years?"
"Looks like it."
Tasu was shocked.
"I think it''s time to get some clothes," I suggested.
"Yeah!"
It was the end of summer outside. We walked up to a small shop with counters full of clothes.
"This is weird, where¡¯s the seller?" Tasu wondered.
"Looks like there¡¯s no seller needed," I pointed out, showing him a sign that read ¡°Everything is free.¡±
"So we just pick what we want and leave?"
"Seems so."
I picked a gray t-shirt, a dark hoodie, and light pants. Tasu chose a white t-shirt, a gray hoodie, and dark pants.
"We¡¯ll die of heat in this..."
"But there¡¯s nothing else here."
We changed clothes right away.
"Akusa, look, there¡¯s a guild!" Tasu noticed.
"Right. We can register and make some money."
We walked to an old gray-brick guild building. Inside, there was a desk where a cute girl was sitting¡ªshe was likely in charge of registering new members and handing out rewards. To the right was a staircase leading up to a caf¨¦.
We approached the desk.
"Hello, we¡¯d like to register for the guild."
"Hello. To do that, you need to tell me your names and take a small test."
"A test? Akusa, I think we made a mistake. Let¡¯s go," Tasu whispered, trying to pull me out.
"Wait, let¡¯s listen."
"Okay. What¡¯s the test?" I asked.
"A magic level test."
"Did you hear that?"
"Ah, then count me in!"
"Great, please tell me your names."
"Akusa Takaru."
"Tasume Sukuza."
"Okay. Now, the test for mana amount."
The girl brought out a magical cube.
"You need to place your hand on this cube, and it will determine your magic level."
"Alright, I¡¯ll go first," said Tasu, placing his hand on the cube.
"Your magic level is 9450," the girl said, her voice trailing off in surprise.
"Is something wrong?"
"Your level is very high. Usually, guild members have a power of up to 3000. Who are you?"
"Just a mage," Tasu shrugged.
"Now it¡¯s my turn," I said.
The girl was still shocked when I placed my hand on the cube.
"Your magic level is 8900."
Even lower than Tasu¡¯s! He¡¯s a real monster, I thought.
"Alright, you¡¯re accepted. But be aware, you¡¯ll be given more difficult tasks."
That was obvious.
"Is there anyone else in the guild with such a magic level?" Tasu asked.
"Only one mage has more than ten thousand units of power."
"How much?" Tasu was surprised.
"The magic cube can measure up to ten thousand. When he placed his hand on it, the cube broke."
The cube couldn¡¯t handle his power... He must be stronger than us.
"Alright, now for the rules," the girl continued.
"First, don¡¯t steal other people''s quests. Second, fighting between groups is prohibited.
Third, rewards are given after completing the task. That¡¯s all."
The rules were pretty simple and clear.
"Got it. When can we start tasks?" Tasu asked.
"Right now. There are two tasks on the board."
We approached the board. One task was to kill the "Mutant Wolf," and the other was to gather medicinal herbs from the "Forest of Death."
"Mutant Wolf?" I was surprised.
"Sometimes, mutants appear among animals."
"Why?"
"No one really knows. They say it¡¯s related to the lake deep in the Forest of Death."
"Got it. Should we split up?"
"Okay, I¡¯ll go for the Wolf, and you get the herbs," Tasu suggested.
"Are you sure you want to split up?" asked the girl. "Missions are usually completed in pairs or even groups."
"We have plenty of mana, so this will be like training," Tasu said confidently.
"How do we find the mutants? And how will you know that we actually killed them?"
"We will give you a map with locations where they usually appear. We¡¯ll track it using special magic."
"I see, thanks. We''ll be going then."
"Good luck, guys."
Volume 1 Chapter 3: "Flight Magic and New Challenges"
Magic that can determine from a distance whether an object is alive is probably capable of tracking the mutant''s life status after its detection.
¡°Well then, let¡¯s split up,¡± said Tasu at the city exit.
¡°Wait.¡±
¡°What is it?¡±
¡°How are you planning to get there without the ability to fly or teleport?¡±
¡°Right... What should we do?¡±
¡°Let me think.¡± I thought for a moment and called up a map to find a path to the library. We headed there.
The library building was quite large.
¡°Well, since we¡¯re here, let¡¯s go inside,¡± I suggested.
Inside, we were greeted by a spacious room with four large semicircular floors, with wide stairs leading up to each.
¡°Excuse me, where can I find books on magic?¡± I asked the librarian.
¡°All books on basic and everyday magic are on the third floor.¡±
¡°Do you only have books on basic magic?¡± Tasu asked.
¡°Yes,¡± she replied.
¡°Thanks.¡±
It seemed there wouldn¡¯t be any teleportation spells here. I hoped to at least find something about flight magic.
We climbed to the third floor.
¡°Let¡¯s split up. Look for books related to flight magic,¡± I suggested.
We began searching, and after several minutes, I found a book that described flight magic.
¡°Tasu, I found it!¡± I whispered.
The book detailed the origins of flight magic, but as usual, there was very little information on how to actually use it.
¡°Akusa, are there any time limits for the task?¡± Tasu asked.
¡°It says here that we need to finish within three days.¡±
¡°Maybe we should dedicate one day to learning flight magic?¡±
The author''s content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
¡°I think that¡¯s a good idea.¡±
¡°Excuse me, can we borrow this book for a couple of days?¡± I asked the librarian.
¡°Of course, just give me your name and the title of the book.¡±
¡°Akusa Takaru. The book on flight magic.¡±
¡°All right, I¡¯ve recorded it.¡±
¡°Tasu, let¡¯s go train outside the city.¡±
¡°Yeah!¡±
We walked several kilometers away from the city. The book had illustrations of magic circles. As far as I remember, one can master flight magic to the point where circles aren¡¯t needed.
Tasu started practicing first. There were many failed attempts, and soon we both had headaches. It seemed that our memories of flight magic were slowly returning.
After five hours of training, Tasu finally managed to use flight magic properly. At that point, I decided to try enhancing it as described in the book, and I succeeded¡ªI was able to fly much faster. But when I landed, I suddenly got a headache. Part of my memory and mana returned.
I created a large fireball and shot it into the sky, reducing the amount of mana in my body. It looked beautiful.
¡°Akusa, what¡¯s wrong with you?¡±
¡°Nothing, I¡¯m fine now.¡±
¡°What was that?¡±
¡°I think it¡¯s because I remembered how to enhance my flight speed. Some of my memories and mana returned.¡±
¡°Does that mean that could happen to me too?¡±
¡°I think so. We need to protect ourselves.¡±
¡°What do you mean?¡±
¡°We need to put a seal on ourselves to suppress any sudden bursts of power.¡±
¡°Does such a seal exist?¡±
¡°Probably, yes.¡±
¡°I see! We need to go back to the library to find it.¡±
¡°Yes, exactly.¡±
¡°And why didn¡¯t I have that issue when I learned to fly?¡±
¡°I think your mana increased only slightly.¡±
¡°Hm... Well, let¡¯s go look for a place to sleep.¡±
We returned to the city. Since we had no money, we headed to a cheap hotel.
¡°Excuse me, can we stay for free? We don¡¯t have money right now...¡±
¡°Free... Hmm... Yes, there¡¯s one room available.¡±
They led us to a small room with two beds, a shower, and a small table. We immediately lay down to sleep.
After a thousand years, a lot had changed. Back in the old days, people and mages weren¡¯t this kind¡ Although, maybe we were just lucky so far.
We rested and left in the morning to complete our tasks.
¡°Alright, the healing herbs should be somewhere around here,¡± I remembered the girl at the guild saying they were white and grew near the entrance to the forest.
Something rustled behind us. I quickly flew to the top of a tree¡ªit turned out to be a wolf, luckily not a mutant. I landed and stopped its attack by holding its jaws with my fingers and threw it back several meters. Four more wolves leapt out of the bushes, and I soared back into the air. I didn¡¯t want to get my hands dirty...
When the wolves left, I continued my search, floating above the forest. After gathering a few dozen flowers, I headed back to the guild.
¡°Field of Mutants¡±
¡°Alright, the mutant wolf should be around here somewhere,¡± said Tasu, quietly walking through the center of the green meadow.
Suddenly, a mutant wolf appeared before him. It was completely black, with red eyes and about five meters tall.
¡°Wow, that¡¯s a big wolf!¡± Tasu exclaimed.
Using wind magic, Tasu threw the wolf hundreds of meters into the air, and it died upon impact.
¡°Oh... Even with this much mana, I can do that¡ Well, that was a pretty easy task.¡±
Tasu flew back to the guild.
¡°Oh, Akusa, you¡¯re back too!¡± Tasu exclaimed.
¡°Yeah, just now.¡±
¡°Let¡¯s go collect our reward!¡±
We entered the guild, and I handed over the healing herbs.
¡°Here¡¯s your pirus, Akusa-sama,¡± the girl handed me a pouch with money. There were a hundred gold pirus inside.
Tasu also received a pouch with the same amount.
¡°So, they pay the same for all tasks here?¡±
¡°I don¡¯t think so. Our tasks were just simple.¡±
¡°Now we can go to the bathhouse.¡±
¡°Hooray, bathhouse!¡±
Volume 1 Chapter 4: "Trials of Mages"
We went to the bathhouse to relax a bit.
¡°What a nice atmosphere here,¡± said Tasu.
¡°I agree, I like it too,¡± I replied.
On the way to the bathhouse, we learned that there were six days left until the academy admission day. We decided it would be worth enrolling. It would speed up the recovery of our memories, allow us to learn new spells, and make us more experienced. And upon graduation, we¡¯d have a professional mage certificate, which would give us an advantage in everyday life. At least, that¡¯s what I was told.
"Unfortunately, in the future, it may no longer matter..."
¡°Well, I suggest we find a place to stay,¡± I proposed.
¡°Yeah, that¡¯d be good. I heard you can rent a two-story house for 100 Piru,¡± said Tasu.
¡°Seriously? That cheap?¡±
¡°Yeah, I was surprised too.¡±
¡°Either the guild pays well, or the prices here are incredibly low.¡±
After the bath, we went to inspect the house we could rent. It was a two-story building made of gray brick with wooden elements. The first floor had a kitchen and a living room with access to a backyard. On the second floor, there were six bedrooms and a bathroom. Each room had a double bed.
¡°This is more of a palace than a house,¡± I said after inspecting it.
We rented the house and spent the next six days preparing for the entrance exams. Tasu focused on math and spellwriting, while I worked on physical training. That¡¯s how the six days passed.
"Admission Day"
We slowly approached the academy. It was massive and resembled a castle. A tall fence surrounded it, with an archway at the entrance. Near the academy was a large field, bigger than a football field, likely meant for practical lessons.
¡°Hey, girl, who do you think you are?¡± someone shouted.
¡°I¡¯m sorry! It was an accident!¡± a girl replied.
¡°Hey, Akusa, it looks like something¡¯s going on. Let¡¯s check it out,¡± said Tasu, casually finishing a sandwich.
¡°Seriously? When did you even get that sandwich?¡± I asked, surprised.
¡°No, let me go!¡± the girl cried out.
¡°Hey, guys, is there a problem?¡± I asked, stepping closer.
¡°Is she your girlfriend?¡± one of the boys asked rudely.
¡°No, we¡¯re not even acquainted.¡±
¡°Then mind your own business.¡±
¡°I can¡¯t just ignore a pretty girl being bullied for no reason,¡± I said, moving closer to him.
¡°Wait, don¡¯t,¡± the girl whispered.
The boy stepped toward me and raised his hand, but Tadoki stopped him.
¡°Fighting is prohibited on academy grounds,¡± Tadoki said sternly.
¡°Tadoki-sama...¡±
¡°I understand you¡¯re new. Don¡¯t worry, the entrance ceremony and exams will begin soon.¡±
We continued onward, and the girl joined us.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
¡°Thank you for standing up for me,¡± she said.
¡°It¡¯s nothing.¡±
¡°You¡¯re a newcomer, right?¡± Tasu asked.
¡°Yes, I¡¯m just enrolling.¡±
¡°We are too, so let¡¯s keep it casual. Akusa, you¡¯re okay with that?¡±
¡°I don¡¯t mind.¡±
¡°Oh, I haven¡¯t introduced myself! My name is Shiari Ufem.¡±
¡°I¡¯m Tasume Sukudzu, but just call me Tasu.¡±
¡°And I¡¯m Akusa Takaru.¡±
¡°Nice to meet you.¡±
We reached the academy entrance, where guides directed us to the stage. The school¡¯s principal and possibly the city¡¯s leader were expected to speak there. We took our seats, and a few minutes later, Tadoki-sama stepped onto the stage. It turned out he was the student council president of this school, which explained his teleportation abilities.
After him, a beautiful girl with long white hair and light blue eyes took the stage. She was dressed in a school uniform with red accents.
¡°Who¡¯s that?¡± Tasu asked.
¡°That¡¯s Kimi Kishimiya, the leader of our country,¡± Shiari replied.
¡°Wait, she¡¯s running the country at her age?¡±
¡°Yes, her parents passed away, and all the responsibility fell on her shoulders.¡±
¡°That can¡¯t be easy...¡±
¡°Hey, Akusa? Akusa!¡±
I was completely mesmerized by her beauty.
"If you look closely... She seems like that girl," Tasu thought, then started interrogating me.
¡°Akusa Takaru, are you still with us?¡±
¡°Yeah, what do you want?¡±
¡°Do you like her?¡± Tasu asked with a sly grin.
¡°No... of course not.¡±
Though in truth, I did.
Meanwhile, Kimi was delivering her speech:
¡°Welcome to the Academy of Magic, students. Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in your journey. For some, it¡¯s the first step into the world of magic; for others, it¡¯s the continuation of a quest for mastery. Regardless of where you stand, remember this: the power you wield is not merely a gift, but a responsibility.
Magic is an art, a science, and a weapon. How you use it is entirely up to you. But remember, true strength lies not in destruction, but in creation. In the ability to protect those who are weaker.
Ahead of you are trials, both physical and moral. Your resolve, character, and willpower will be tested. Do not fear mistakes; they teach us more than success ever could. Remember, greatness is born not in solitude, but in friendship, in the ability to work as a team and support one another.
As the leader of this country and as your peer, I believe in every one of you. Each of you has the potential to become a great mage, but it¡¯s up to you to decide what kind of mage you¡¯ll become.
Remember, your actions today will shape not only your future but the future of our world. Let your hearts be filled with determination, your minds with a thirst for knowledge, and your souls with a yearning for justice.
Good luck, students. May the light of magic guide you to great achievements.¡±
The entire hall erupted into applause.
¡°Now, I¡¯ll explain how the exams will proceed,¡± Kimi began. ¡°First, you¡¯ll be divided into first-years, second-years, and third-years. Each of you will take three exams: a mental test, a practical test, and a mana capacity test. Based on the results, you¡¯ll be assigned to classes: A, B, C, or D. Any questions?¡±
¡°How will the practical test be conducted?¡± someone asked from the crowd.
¡°You¡¯ll need to hit a target from a distance with your strongest spell. Detailed information can be found on the notice board near the school. Any other questions?¡±
There were no further questions, and Kimi bowed before leaving. Everyone applauded her.
"Looks straightforward enough. Good thing Tasu and I registered for admission two days ago, otherwise we¡¯d be stuck in a long line," I thought.
We stepped outside, where a board displayed the exam venues and the teachers who would be supervising us. We approached our teacher.
¡°Let me introduce myself,¡± the teacher said. ¡°My name is Rin Tosukawa. I¡¯ll be teaching you theory.¡±
¡°Hope we get along!¡±
¡°Yes!¡± everyone replied.
She looked strong. We headed to the first exam.
In a large room, a massive cube hovered in the center, measuring mana levels. The previous students¡¯ results ranged between one thousand and five thousand. None of the first-years had scored above ten thousand.
Kimi approached us.
¡°Hello, everyone!¡± she said. Shocked gasps were heard all around, and everyone bowed their heads except Tasu and me.
¡°No need for such formalities. I¡¯ll be studying in your class. Hope we get along!¡±
¡°Yes, of course,¡± everyone replied in unison.
¡°The ruler will study with us?¡±
¡°She must be incredibly strong!¡±
¡°And a beauty to top it off!¡±
¡°Shh... She¡¯s our ruler!¡± students whispered.
¡°Alright, my turn,¡± Shiari said, stepping up to the cube.
The teacher observed and recorded the results.
¡°9350.¡±
It was a high score, and everyone around was surprised.
¡°Now me,¡± Kimi said, stepping up to the cube.
¡°12200.¡±
"The first person to score above ten thousand," I thought.
¡°Akusa, you go first,¡± Tasu suggested.
¡°Alright...¡±
Kimi stared at me in surprise, thinking, "He¡¯s so handsome... No! No! What am I even thinking?!" She blushed.
¡°13700,¡± the result echoed.
"No! Get rid of these silly thoughts! What¡¯s wrong with me?!"
¡°Akusa, you¡¯re strong,¡± the teacher said.
¡°Not really...¡±
¡°Now it¡¯s my turn,¡± Tasu said.
¡°14400.¡±
¡°You¡¯ve gotten stronger,¡± I noted.
"They¡¯re truly capable. Definitely destined for Class 1-A," Rin thought
Volume 1 Chapter 5: "Final Exam Completion"
All the students in our group successfully passed the test, and Tasu emerged as the top scorer among us.
"Look, it¡¯s Tadoki-sama," whispered some of the students around us.
"Is he going to take the test too?"
"Yes, all the students of the academy must take it, even those entering the second year, to assess their summer progress."
"I see," I replied.
"120,000."
"W-what?" Tasu stammered in surprise.
Tadoki was clearly on a whole different level¡ªten times stronger than me... It was astonishing. After Tadoki, another boy, a second-year student, stepped up.
"98,000."
"What?! It seems there are many students this strong among the second-years."
"Alright, kids, we¡¯re heading to the written exam now," announced the teacher.
We left the room and went up to the second floor. There were many classrooms, a long corridor with a staircase leading to the third floor in the middle. The walls were light brown, and large crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling. We entered the classroom. The desks were arranged in a tiered fashion, with the blackboard and teacher¡¯s desk at the bottom. Tasu and I took seats at the back, while Kimi and Shiari sat at the front.
We were handed papers with mathematical and magical problems.
"I¡¯ll collect your papers in an hour," said the teacher.
One hour later
"Phew, finally done," sighed Tasu.
"You probably did excellently."
"Doubt it. I¡¯m not Akusa..."
"Alright, hand in your papers," the teacher instructed.
Everyone placed their papers on her desk.
"You can take a short break. I¡¯ll announce the results in thirty minutes."
"How many points can we score in total?"
"Two hundred." This should be interesting.
This novel''s true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.
The students began discussing their answers. Tasu started chatting about something with Shiari.
"Tasu, already becoming a busy man?" I teased.
"What? No, of course not."
Shiari smiled shyly.
"Akusa?" Kimi addressed me softly.
"Can I speak with you for a moment?"
"Ah¡ sure."
We stepped away from the class.
"Akusa, could you help me after the exams?"
"Help? With what?"
"There¡¯s something I need to sort out," she said, slightly embarrassed.
What? I haven¡¯t even officially enrolled, and I¡¯m already being asked for help by such a lovely lady?!
"I don¡¯t mind. What do you need?"
"Maybe¡ let¡¯s meet tomorrow?"
"Sure. Will the caf¨¦ near the academy work?"
"Yes!" she replied happily.
After some time, the teacher gathered us.
"Let¡¯s start with Shiari. Your score is 167. Congratulations."
"Next, Kimi. Your score is 175. Congratulations."
"Tasume, you scored 150."
"Aaaaah!"
I smiled slightly.
"Akusa, you¡¯ve surprised me. Your score is 200. Congratulations."
He even solved the final problems in such a short time... These questions usually take professors hours, Rin thought.
"What?! How?!" Tasu turned to me, his face filled with disbelief.
"Oh, I thought it would be lower."
"Akusa, you¡¯re going to teach me now!" Tasu exclaimed.
"What? No, handle it yourself."
"Come on, Akusa, Akusa, Akusa..."
Everyone was stunned, while Kimi and Shiari laughed. The teacher continued announcing the other students¡¯ scores. Most didn¡¯t exceed 150 points. With the passing score set at 125, we did pretty well. A few students failed, but from what I understood, they wouldn¡¯t be expelled.
"Now, let¡¯s head outside to the practical exam area."
We all went outside. Surrounding the exam field was a tall barrier, and a large crowd of spectators stood around it. Our temporary classmates entered the field one by one to take the exam¡ªthough some seemed to struggle more than others.
"Remember, you need to use one of your strongest spells to hit the target," Rin reminded us.
"Of course."
"Kimi, you¡¯re up."
"Got it."
Kimi placed her hand on the barrier, which automatically recognized her and allowed her through. She stepped into position and extended her hand toward the target. A bright white light glowed around the target, and it became completely frozen.
"Wow, that¡¯s beautiful!" Tasu exclaimed.
Kimi turned her hand to the right, and the ice, along with the target, shattered into tiny pieces. Everyone looked on in awe. Kimi stepped out of the barrier.
"Well done, that was impressive," the teacher praised her.
"Thank you."
"Next, Shiari."
"Alright."
Shiari entered the barrier and took her position.
Let¡¯s try attacking with the spell ¡®Water Cutter,¡¯ she thought. With a wave of her hand, a thin stream of water shot out, slicing through the target and causing an explosion. Shiari exited the barrier.
"That looked cool," Tasu said.
"Thank you."
"My turn," Tasu said, stretching his hands.
"This should be fun," I added.
"What do you mean?" the teacher asked.
"You¡¯ll see soon enough."
Tasu rose into the air, and a massive vortex formed within the barrier, kicking up clouds of dust. He snapped his fingers, and the entire whirlwind crashed down on the target, obliterating it completely. Tasu stepped out of the barrier.
"... I thought it would be more dramatic," I said.
"I should¡¯ve used more power," Tasu replied.
"Akusa, it¡¯s your turn now."
I entered the barrier and took my position, extending my hand toward the target.
"Bang," I said, forming my fingers into the shape of a gun. A small fireball appeared at my fingertip and shot toward the target at incredible speed. An explosion followed, triggering an earthquake within the barrier. The target was utterly destroyed. I stepped out of the barrier.
"That was quite powerful. Well done," Rin praised me.
Volume 1 Chapter 6: A Favor: The Princesss Request
After a few more minutes, all the students finished their exams.
"That''s all for today. I''ll see you in class after the weekend," Rin announced.
Everyone dispersed to their homes.
"Kimi, what time should we meet tomorrow?" I asked.
"Let¡¯s meet at noon, at the caf¨¦ across from the school."
"Got it. See you tomorrow."
"Bye," Kimi replied.
"Hey, Akusa, what¡¯s this? Are you going on a date tomorrow?" Tasu teased with a smirk.
"A date? Hardly."
"Then what is it?"
"Kimi asked for my help with something."
"I see... Good luck tomorrow."
"What about you? Got any plans?"
"Not really..."
We headed home together.
"I¡¯ll leave you here," Shiari said, stopping near her house.
"See you later."
"Bye!"
Tasu and I continued to our place.
"Man, I¡¯m beat," Tasu sighed.
"From what?" I asked, surprised.
"Those exams drained me!"
"Same as always¡ Studying really isn¡¯t your thing."
The next morning.
"Hey, Akusa, wake up, or you¡¯ll be late for your ''date''!"
"I¡¯m up, I¡¯m up! Stop shaking me!"
I quickly stretched and got dressed.
"Alright, I¡¯m heading out."
"Good luck on your ''date,''" Tasu called out, lounging on the couch and munching on sandwiches.
"Are you still eating?"
"So what?"
"You¡¯ve already eaten my portion too!"
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
"You wouldn¡¯t have eaten it anyway."
"You¡¯re going to get fat!"
"Nah!" Tasu retorted, biting into another sandwich.
"Whatever, I¡¯m leaving."
"Got it."
I strolled towards the caf¨¦ where we agreed to meet. Kimi was already waiting by the entrance, dressed in a beautiful gown, her hair tied into a voluminous ponytail.
Wait¡ isn¡¯t this supposed to be a business meeting? Why am I dressed so casually? This feels awkward¡
"Hi. Sorry to keep you waiting."
"No, I just got here."
"Your dress looks... really nice," I said, feeling a bit flustered.
"T-thank you," Kimi replied, blushing slightly.
"Shall we go in?"
We entered the caf¨¦. It was spacious, and we chose a small, round white table. The waiter brought us menus.
"Order whatever you like. I¡¯ll cover it," I said, immediately regretting how out-of-place that sounded. She¡¯s royalty¡ªsurely she doesn¡¯t need me to pay.
"Thank you," Kimi said, her cheeks turning pink.
Something feels off...
"Have you decided what to order?" the waiter asked.
"Yes, I¡¯ll have a coffee with milk and a jelly cake," I replied.
"I¡¯ll have..." I noticed Kimi seemed nervous. "...a coffee with milk and a chocolate cake."
"Please wait a few minutes."
"Alright."
"So, how can I help you?" I asked as soon as the waiter left.
"Akusa, could you... accompany me to another country?" Kimi asked suddenly, leaning forward slightly.
"Accompany you?"
"Yes, I need to establish better relations with a neighboring nation."
"But why me?"
Kimi looked slightly embarrassed.
"Never mind. I think I understand why you chose me¡"
"You want us to go alone? For me to act as your personal guard?"
"Yes, if you don¡¯t mind. I¡¯d be really grateful!"
At that moment, the waiter returned with our order.
"Here¡¯s your coffee and cake."
"Thank you," we said in unison.
"Alright, I don¡¯t mind," I said once the waiter left.
"Thank you so much," Kimi said, bowing slightly.
"Hey, stop that," I said, startled. "But this isn¡¯t your only request, is it?"
"Eh?.. Akusa, how did you know?"
So my guess was right¡
"Just a hunch."
"Even though I¡¯m officially the ruler of this country, I haven¡¯t been granted full authority, have I?"
"Well, not entirely."
"At the moment, I¡¯m more of an executor for everyone¡¯s wishes¡"
"After my parents passed away, my uncle took over governance because I was too young at the time. But by law, I¡¯ve been eligible to rule for the past year."
"Your parents¡¯ passing¡?"
"Y-yes¡"
"S-sorry for bringing it up."
"It¡¯s alright," Kimi said, trying to hold back her emotions.
I had my suspicions that someone was controlling her, but this¡
Later, I found out my assumption was correct, but not because Kimi couldn¡¯t pay me. In her country, rulers are often treated as ordinary citizens in such matters and rarely receive special privileges.
"Oh, I almost forgot to mention... Tadoki Kishizu is my half-brother."
"...What?" That¡¯s a surprising revelation, I thought.
"But even so, I¡¯d like you to help Tadoki with a mission tonight at midnight!"
"I don¡¯t mind, but..."
"I have a few questions," I continued. "Tadoki could handle this himself, couldn¡¯t he? But you¡¯re worried about him?"
"I suppose you could say that¡"
"Even though we¡¯re half-siblings, I don¡¯t know much about his strength. He spends all his time training or with his girlfriend¡"
Girlfriend?
"The same goes for my uncle¡"
"And even though Tadoki possesses immense power, I¡¯d like you to support him!"
"Alright, I don¡¯t mind."
"Really?.. Thank you!"
"Sure... No problem."
"But I have more questions."
"Of course!"
"What exactly is Tadoki planning to do?"
We continued discussing the details over coffee and cake.
"And... when are we leaving for the neighboring country?" I asked.
"Tomorrow at noon, I think."
"Alright. Then, maybe we should head home and rest?"
"Yes, let¡¯s do that."
I paid for the food, and we left the caf¨¦. I walked Kimi home, chatting about Tadoki and his mission along the way.
"Thank you for today," Kimi said with a smile.
"No problem."
"See you tomorrow. And be careful¡"
"Got it. See you tomorrow," I nodded.
I headed home. Now I had six hours to rest.
Volume 1 Chapter 7 "Alliance: Help for the Princess"
I came home.
"Oh, Akusa, you''re back," said Tasu, all sweaty and tired.
"Did Tasu himself start training?"
"Of course, gotta make some progress."
I smirked:
"You''re surprising me..."
Tasu smiled, but his gaze was narrowed:
"How was the date?"
"I told you, it wasn''t a date," I answered, slightly embarrassed.
"Yeah, yeah, I know." He nodded, but his smirk didn''t disappear. "So, what happened?"
I lay down on the couch.
"If we''re being simple, I need to help Tadoki at midnight at the college... Although, it¡¯ll mostly look like observation." ¡ª "And after that, tomorrow I¡¯m going to a neighboring country with Kimi on diplomatic matters."
Tasu whistled in surprise:
"Akusa, you two seem to have become pretty good friends! So, you''re going to the college at midnight?"
"Yeah," I replied.
"Do you need to kill the mage controlling the country?"
I shrugged.
"I don''t know about the killing part, I think Tadoki will tell me about that."
"I see, so you don¡¯t need my help?" Tasu offered.
"No, from my calculations, Tadoki can handle it just fine on his own."
"Well then, good luck to you," he said.
"Yeah, I¡¯ll go rest for a bit."
"After what?" he smirked, teasing me.
I smirked back.
"Well, I did go on a date with such a lovely lady... I spent almost all my energy."
"Lovebirds!" laughed Tasu.
"What makes you think that?"
"It¡¯s obvious!"
"..."
"Alright, I¡¯m off."
"Don¡¯t fall asleep!" teased Tasu and continued training.
"Heavenly Kingdom"
"Aver-sama, have you noticed?"
"Yes, the seal has been broken."
"So, Akusa and Tasume are free now?"
"Correct, they¡¯ve already entered the school."
"What should we do?"
"They still haven¡¯t regained all their memories, and their power is too small. For now, let¡¯s not pay attention to them. I think they¡¯ll entertain me in the future..."
"Understood..."
"Earth. City of Areon."
A few minutes before midnight. I think it''s time. I went down to the first floor. Tasu was already fast asleep on the couch in the living room. I went outside and headed towards the college. Tadoki was already waiting for me.
"You came," he noted.
"Yeah, Kimi asked me to," I replied, feeling a strange mix of excitement and resolve.
Tadoki chuckled:
"I¡¯m not surprised..."
"Yeah..." I muttered.
"What¡¯s our plan?" I asked.
"Look, the main goal isn¡¯t to kill. I have some unfinished business with him. I¡¯ll teleport us to his room door.
This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.
He¡¯s not asleep right now, so I¡¯ll go in and say I have urgent business. As soon as my uncle approaches, I¡¯ll use ¡®Rukis¡¯ magic to cause him to lose consciousness."
I nodded:
"What if it doesn¡¯t work?"
"Then we¡¯ll fight," Tadoki replied, his voice full of confidence.
"Ha..."
"But I¡¯ll try to make it quick and without any destruction. You won¡¯t need to do anything."
"Alright..."
We teleported to the entrance of the room. Tadoki knocked three times.
"Can we come in?" There was silence in response.
"Maybe he¡¯s not in the room?"
"Let me check."
Tadoki cautiously entered. Suddenly, Kimi¡¯s uncle jumped on him from behind. Tadoki, reacting quickly, grabbed his arm, pinned him to the ground, and cast the ¡®Rukis¡¯ spell. Everything happened so fast that I could barely process what was going on.
"That¡¯s it," he said.
"Why was I here?!" I was confused, feeling unnecessary. From what I sensed, the enemy didn¡¯t even have 5000 mana...
Tadoki shrugged:
"I told Kimi I could handle it on my own, but she insisted that you come with me."
"I see..."
He came up to me and, looking me straight in the eyes, asked:
"Be honest with me. Do you like Kimi?"
"What?! U-um... Well..." I didn¡¯t know how to answer. How could someone ask such a direct question?! "Y-yeah..."
"I see. Now I¡¯m at ease," he said.
"Is it that simple?!" I was stunned by his reaction.
"What will happen to Kimi¡¯s uncle?"
"I want to find out if he killed our parents or not," Tadoki said in a rough voice.
"Do you think he killed your parents and Kimi¡¯s parents?"
"Yes, I suspect it was him. He¡¯s been wanting to get the title of ruler for a long time."
"Sorry for asking this, but after your parents were killed, did Kimi¡¯s family take you in?"
"It¡¯s easier to explain that way..."
"Memories"
At that time, Tadoki was only 6 years old.
"Lord Tadoki, could you help me today?"
"Me too, please!"
"Please, could you heal my mother?!"
"Lord Tadoki?!"
"Yes, yes, I¡¯ll help everyone, just in turn!"
Since childhood, Tadoki had colossal healing abilities and the power to restore objects, which is why many people considered him the messenger of the god himself. From a young age, Tadoki helped many people fix everyday things and heal the sick. The whole country knew of his abilities, and most people turned to him for help. But one day...
"Mom, Dad, I¡¯m home!"
"No one...?"
"Should we really talk about this?"
"He¡¯s still just a child..."
"But... He¡¯s the only one who can help them!"
"Huh? Who¡¯s there?"
"Lord Tadoki! We need your help, urgently!" A butler approached Tadoki.
"Your parents..."
A little later, they brought Tadoki to a clearing where his parents were lying.
"Mom! Dad..."
Tadoki rushed to them.
"Healing... Isn¡¯t helping..."
"Cough..." Blood spilled from his father¡¯s mouth.
"Sorry for this sight, son..."
"But be a good boy..."
His father¡¯s hand fell to the ground.
"No!"
"Mom! Hold on!"
"Forgive us..."
"No!"
"Noooooooo!"
It was two days later.
"Somewhere on the Edge of the Forest, Near a Cliff"
Tadoki was sitting on the cliff.
"Tadoki?"
"Finally, we found you!"
"??.. Tadoki turned around to see Kimi with her parents.
"Don¡¯t worry, you can always rely on us!"
"Come with us?" Kimi reached out her hand.
"Our Time"
"Something like that..."
"I think Kimi will share some of her sad memories with you too..."
"....."
"O-okay..."
Tadoki transferred a part of his memories to me.
"I think you can go now," he said as if nothing had happened. "And yeah, sorry for disturbing you."
"It¡¯s fine," I replied, feeling like I needed to process everything that had happened.
I flew home. Tasu was still asleep on the couch. Now it was my turn to rest. I went into my room and lay on the bed. If it turns out that his uncle killed their parents, Tadoki would kill him without hesitation.
Although I haven¡¯t seen all of his abilities, he definitely knows martial arts...
The sound of birds singing.
I opened my eyes. It was a beautiful, sunny day. I went down to the first floor.
"Oh, Akusa, you¡¯re awake," called Tasu, preparing breakfast.
"Yeah."
"How did everything go yesterday?"
I sat down at the table:
"It was fine. I¡¯ll tell you everything during breakfast."
I told him what had happened.
"I see. You¡¯re going to another country today?"
"Yeah."
"Got it, looks like you¡¯ll have a long date, maybe even your first night together," he smirked.
I froze.
"..."
"Come on! Don¡¯t be like that!" Tasu laughed as I tried not to show my embarrassment.
"What are you planning to do? Train again?"
"No, I¡¯m too lazy today. I think I¡¯ll take a walk around the city."
"Got it... Maybe you¡¯ll find yourself a bride," I teased.
"Hey! No way!" he replied with a smirk.
"What time are you meeting?"
"Noon, near the caf¨¦."
"You¡¯d better be a good bodyguard," he continued, winking mockingly.
"Yeah, right." I went upstairs to change.
When I came back downstairs, I sighed:
"I don¡¯t even know enough magic to properly protect Kimi..."
"Come on, with your physical strength, you¡¯ll defeat everyone, you don¡¯t need magic," Tasu encouraged me.
"You¡¯re overestimating me."
"Alright, I¡¯m off."
"Good luck."
I walked toward the caf¨¦, feeling the growing anxiety. A few minutes later, Kimi appeared beside me, as usual, using teleportation magic.
"Hi," she said with a smile.
"Hey."
"Thanks for yesterday!"
"Even though Tadoki handled it on his own..."
"Ah... Don¡¯t mention it, it¡¯s nothing..."
"Shall we go?" I suggested.
"Wait," she said, embarrassed. "Here, take this."
She handed me a book.
"This is a token of thanks for helping Tadoki and for accompanying me."
"Thank you very much," I said, opening the book. It was an advanced magic book.
"You¡¯re welcome," she said quietly, blushing.
"By the way, Akusa, do you know how to use teleportation?" Kimi asked.
"No, only flight magic," I answered, putting the book into storage.
"Then let¡¯s hold hands so the teleportation works for you too!"
She seemed very worried.
"Alright." I took Kimi¡¯s hand, and she blushed even more.
T..this feels so nice! I thought to myself.
"Is something wrong?" I asked.
"N-no, it¡¯s fine," she mumbled.
We teleported to the entrance of another country, surrounded by a huge brick wall with massive doors.
Inside, everyone was watching us, their eyes slightly reddish.
"Is it just me, or are they being controlled?"
"Looks like it..."
"What happened to this country? Why do you need to settle things with them?"
"A couple of years ago, this country and ours were in an alliance and friends. But a few months ago, they withdrew from the alliance and severed all ties with us."
"Do you want to find out what¡¯s going on yourself?"
"Yeah..."
"Well, it seems like some mage is controlling both the people and possibly the ruler."
"Watch out!" I shouted.
Volume 1 Chapter 8: "Through the Flames"
At that moment...
Tadoki stood in the abandoned hangar, facing Uncle Kimi.
"You''re awake, after all?" Tadoki asked, holding a large-caliber weapon resembling a sniper rifle.
"You... I knew from the very beginning that you couldn''t be left alive!" Uncle growled, with hatred in his voice.
"Damned demon!"
"A demon? Me?" Tadoki repeated, lowering his weapon.
"Is that what you call my actions?" He continued, stepping closer to his uncle. "I''m just getting rid of trash like you."
"You killed my parents, and then Kimi''s parents as well."
"?!"
Uncle froze in shock.
"How did he figure it out?! I didn''t leave a single trace!" Uncle thought to himself.
"How did I know? You say..." Tadoki smirked.
"That''s right, you left no traces, but..."
"You didn''t consider one factor."
"It''s all too logical: you were the only one around when they died. If an investigation is conducted and we find even one witness who could say how you two were heading somewhere together... then..."
"We can confidently say, more than halfway, that it was YOU who did it!" Tadoki said with a grin, leaning toward his uncle, who fell to the ground.
"Is... is this really Tadoki?!"
"But that''s not all," Tadoki continued. He snapped his fingers, and suddenly they were both in the air, in a semi-transparent form.
Everything around them turned black and white.
"Wh-what is this?!"
"Don''t remember? These are your memories."
"Impossible!"
At that moment, drops of blood flew toward them¡ªmemories of the murder of Tadoki''s parents.
"Impossible! This is impossible!"
"You... devil!" Uncle whispered in horror.
Tadoki watched his uncle with a satisfied expression, enjoying his fear.
He snapped his fingers again, and they returned to the real world.
"I did what I wanted," Tadoki said, focusing his gaze on his uncle, who began to turn into a stone statue.
"No! Demon! Devil!" Uncle shouted, and his life was cut short, turning him completely into stone.
Meanwhile, a few people were running toward Kimi... or rather, zombies. I picked Kimi up and flew to the roof of a building.
"Thank you..." Kimi muttered, blushing. "Why am I blushing? Kimi, calm down!" she thought, gently tapping her cheeks.
"It seems the one controlling them doesn''t want visitors," I said.
"I feel a large amount of mana from the castle," Kimi added.
"Yes, I noticed too. Judging by the amount of magical power, this mage is strong. He might even be too much for me..." I thought to myself.
"I''ll teleport us closer," Kimi suggested.
We held hands, and Kimi teleported us to the castle entrance.
"Is this a magic academy?" I asked.
"Yes, when this country wasn''t taken over yet, they held school competitions here," Kimi replied.
"Got it. I guess we can go in now that we''re here," I suggested.
"Just be careful!"
I opened the door to the academy. Ahead, there was a large room with a staircase leading to the second floor.
At that moment, I felt a thirst for blood.
"Kimi!" I shouted, pushing her a few meters away.
"Huh?"
A fiery circle instantly appeared around me, engulfing me, rising in a pillar of flames several meters high.
"Well, how is it? How does it feel to be consumed by fire?!"
"This flame destroys the body itself!" the mage laughed ominously.
This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
"Akusa!" Kimi cried out, tears in her eyes.
"He can''t hear you anymore. This flame engulfs the entire body instantly, leaving not even a trace..."
"But why..?" Kimi whispered, growing pale.
"Because it''s fun!" the mage responded with a grin.
"Is that all?"
"W-what?" The mage''s face turned serious.
I stepped out of the flames completely unharmed.
"Akusa?!" Kimi exclaimed with joy, still crying.
"How? Why? How are you still alive?!" the mage asked in shock.
"My regeneration is far beyond what you could imagine," I said with a sinister smile, my right eye turning red.
"Now tell me how to remove the spell cast on everyone in this city," I demanded.
"Do you really think that just because you withstood my spell, I will obey you?" the mage sneered.
In an instant, I teleported to him, grabbed him by the throat, and squeezed.
"Well? Still unwilling to talk?"
"You won''t scare me!" the mage rasped, casting a fireball, which instantly vanished.
"What?!"
"You''re doomed. Your fate ends right now!"
"Amechi Neriel will never accept defeat!" the mage shouted, cutting off my arm.
I figured that if I killed him, the spell cast on the townspeople would dissipate on its own...
Amechi collapsed to the ground, gasping for air. I used telekinesis to lift my severed arm and restored it.
"Goodbye," I said, piercing Amechi with a sword I had just taken from my storage.
"Khaa!..."
Then, I cast the same spell he had tried to kill me with, and his body vanished.
I think that should be enough...
"I did it!" I said, turning to Kimi with a small smile. My right eye returned to normal.
Dizziness intensified¡ªthe mana was running low.
"Akusa, careful!" Kimi shouted, rushing to me when I lost consciousness.
"Akusa, wake up!" Kimi cried, trying to bring me to my senses.
"Several hours later..."
It¡¯s so warm... I slowly opened my eyes.
"Akusa, you¡¯re awake!" Kimi exclaimed, hugging me. "I was so worried..."
"It¡¯s okay now, don¡¯t worry," I reassured her, looking around.
I was lying in a large, luxurious room, like a palace chamber, on a huge bed.
"Alright, you can let go now," I said with a light smile.
Kimi released me, clearly flustered.
"Are you really okay?" she asked anxiously.
"Yes, I¡¯m fine. And I¡¯m sorry you had to see that..."
"N-no, it¡¯s nothing!" Kimi hastily replied.
"Where are we?"
"After you killed Amechi, all the magic dissipated, and I met the king of this country. He offered to move you here so you could rest."
The magic of Amechi had probably completely disappeared.
"Got it... So, does this mean the relations between the countries are now settled?"
"Yes, in honor of this, there will be a tournament between schools in a month, as well as a small festival."
"Sounds interesting," I replied.
"Maybe you want something to eat or drink?" Kimi suggested.
"Just a little..."
"But I can get it myself!"
"No, I¡¯ll bring everything, don¡¯t worry!" Kimi hurried to the door. "I¡¯ll bring some tea now!"
"Alright, thank you," I agreed, noticing how much effort she was putting in. Though my strength had already recovered, I decided not to refuse.
A few minutes later, Kimi returned with tea and sweet buns.
"Thank you."
While drinking the tea, my thoughts returned to the spell... This mage, Amechi, possessed one of the strongest fire spells I¡¯d ever encountered. Magic capable of destroying the very fabric of reality...
"Akusa? What are you thinking about?" Kimi interrupted my thoughts.
"About how we were both lucky and unlucky... If someone else had been in our place, someone not as strong, surviving would have been impossible..."
The spell really was incredibly powerful.
I finished the buns and suggested to Kimi we take a walk around the city.
We left the city. It was quite large, surrounded by a high brick wall. Most houses were two stories, and in the center was a small park.
"Akusa, who is Tasu to you?" Kimi suddenly asked.
"Ah... Well..." I hesitated. "We¡¯ve been friends since childhood, so he¡¯s my best friend."
"I thought so," she smiled.
"By the way... Aren¡¯t you hungry?"
"Ah... No, no!" she replied, blushing a little.
"Alright..."
"Kimi, when do you plan to return to Areon?"
"Probably today, since school starts tomorrow."
We were walking toward the city exit.
"Akusa, what exactly did Amechi say about that flame? I didn¡¯t fully understand..."
"He said that this flame completely incinerates mages, or rather, their bodies, leaving absolutely no trace."
"What does that mean?"
"It''s an advanced spell that destroys its target without leaving the slightest trace, unlike ordinary fire," I explained.
Kimi stopped in front of me and, blushing, said:
"Thank you, Akusa... for saving me."
"It¡¯s nothing," I replied, slightly embarrassed.
"Do you have more questions?"
"Yes, how did you survive such a spell?"
"I just healed," I said, trying to explain as simply as possible.
"So, you have very advanced self-healing magic?" Kimi asked, surprised.
"Something like that. Though I don¡¯t completely understand how I defeated Amechi so easily..."
We kept walking.
"I haven¡¯t told anyone this, but Tasu and I aren¡¯t ordinary mages."
"What do you mean?" Kimi asked, intrigued.
"You might get scared, but Tasu and I were sealed for a thousand years."
"Why?"
"My memory is partially lost, but I remember a war where mages, humans, demons, and undead fought, and if you think about it, the gods were on the side of the demons."
"And you went against the gods?" she asked, shocked.
"No, it¡¯s more like the gods went against the humans. As a result, Tasu and I were sealed," I answered. "Maybe you read about it in old books."
"Yes, I¡¯ve read about a war where a god defeated two instigators of evil..."
Wait...
"Akusa, was that you?!" Kimi asked in surprise.
"Maybe it was us," I smirked.
"But after I was sealed, part of my magic and memories were sealed too.
"However, after today¡¯s battle, I remembered several techniques and episodes from the fight with the god."
"Sorry if this seems strange," I added, waiting for her reaction.
"You don¡¯t need to apologize, I understand everything," Kimi replied with a smile.
"It must have been hard for you, Akusa..." she said, her expression turning sad.
"I guess so..."
I was surprised that Kimi took this whole story so calmly...
We reached the exit from the kingdom.
"It¡¯s time to go home."
We held hands, and Kimi teleported us to Areon.
"Do you want me to walk you home?" I asked.
"Akusa..." ¡ª Kimi blushed, stepping closer to me. "Can you lean down a little?"
"...?" I leaned down, and she kissed me on the cheek.
"This is for saving me today," ¡ª Kimi said. "And I won¡¯t tell anyone your story! See you tomorrow!" ¡ª she added, blushing, and instantly disappeared.
I stood there in surprise.
It''s time for me to go home too. I teleported to my house.
When part of my memories returned, I was able to copy the teleportation technique... Now it will be much easier to do things.
I entered the house.
"Akusa, you''re back?" ¡ª Tasu asked, sitting on the couch, with an unfamiliar girl next to him.
"Yes."
"Hello," ¡ª the girl said politely, giving a slight bow.
"Ah... yeah..." ¡ª I mumbled, slightly confused, not expecting to see anyone new in our house, especially in Tasu''s company.
Volume 1 Chapter 9: "New Acquaintances"
Feeling the tension in the air, Tasu decided to break the awkwardness and introduce the two to each other.
"Let me introduce you!" he said with a smile, standing up from the couch.
"This is Akusa Takaru, my best friend and probably one of the most reliable people I know."
Well, thanks for such a title!
"And this is Kifuru Rielya," he added, clearly enjoying the attention he was receiving from both of us.
"Nice to meet you," Kifuru said shyly, blushing slightly and lowering her gaze.
She seemed a bit stiff in this new situation for her.
"Nice to meet you..." I replied.
"Hey... Akusa..." Tasu looked at me with a mischievous gaze.
"What are you up to now?"
"You¡¯ve got a kiss mark on your cheek!"
Akusa instinctively touched his cheek and indeed felt something sticky.
He walked slowly to the sink to wash it off.
"I see things went according to plan?" Tasu teased, continuing to poke fun.
"What are you talking about?"
"Well, you have a girlfriend now, don¡¯t you?" Tasu said with a grin.
Akusa froze for a moment before sighing quietly. He knew arguing with Tasu was pointless but still couldn¡¯t hide a hint of irritation.
"..."
"Alright, alright. Tell me what happened!"
"You first."
"Hmm... Well, I was on another guild mission," he began, recalling recent events.
"On my way back home, as it started to get dark, I met Kifuru. She looked exhausted and worn out, and her clothes were all tattered.
"It was obvious she needed help, and I decided I couldn¡¯t leave her alone."
Tasu glanced at Kifuru warmly, and she nodded slightly, confirming his words.
"It turned out she was exiled from a neighboring kingdom," Tasu continued.
"For failing to complete a guild mission."
"Her parents disappeared a couple of years ago, and since then, she¡¯s been training hard. Unfortunately, she lost a bet and had to leave the kingdom."
Akusa listened intently, nodding occasionally. He hadn¡¯t expected Kifuru¡¯s story to be so heavy.
Now that he knew her circumstances, she evoked not only sympathy but also respect for her resilience.
She must have had it tough... Akusa thought after hearing Tasu''s story.
"I see, I think I got it," I said thoughtfully, trying to piece everything together.
On the surface, she didn¡¯t seem like a powerful mage. Her tattered school skirt and white blouse with black accents looked modest. However, her light-yellow eyes, long hair of the same shade, and attractive figure hinted at something extraordinary.
"Tasu, why didn¡¯t you buy Kifuru some clothes?" I suddenly asked, turning to him.
"Oh..." Tasu mumbled, slightly embarrassed, clearly having forgotten about it.
"As always," I sighed, already used to his absent-mindedness.
"Go to the store with Kifuru and buy her something appropriate before it gets dark."
"Would you mind if I stayed here?" Kifuru asked timidly, nervously fiddling with her fingers.
Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
"I don¡¯t think anyone would object," I replied confidently.
"Thank you so much!" she said with genuine gratitude in her voice.
"Alright, go to the store, and then I¡¯ll tell you how everything went," I said, letting them leave.
When Tasu and Kifuru left, I picked up the book Kimi had given me. It was red with the title "Kishizu," probably the one Tadoki-sama himself had studied. Over two hundred pages, all filled with various spells. I flipped through a few pages but soon decided to start preparing dinner.
Half an hour later...
"It smells so good! I guess Akusa is cooking!" exclaimed Tasu as he entered the house, burdened with shopping bags.
"You bought so much..." I said in surprise, looking at the pile of clothes they brought in.
"T-these are just the essentials!" Kifuru explained with a slight blush and a smile.
Girls seem to need much more clothing than we do... A lot more.
"Hey, Akusa, what''s for dinner tonight?" Tasu asked, peeking at the table.
"Nothing for you. You eat too much already!" I joked with a smirk.
"What?... Why?!" Tasu looked at me in confusion, not understanding if I was serious.
Kifuru chuckled softly, covering her mouth with her hand.
"Alright, Tasu, show Kifuru her room, then come down for dinner," I suggested, returning to my tasks.
"Got it!" Tasu agreed, heading upstairs with Kifuru.
Tasu and Kifuru went up to the second floor and stopped in front of Kifuru''s room.
"Here''s your room, and across the hall is the bathroom," Tasu said, opening the door.
"Thank you," Kifuru said politely, bowing slightly.
"Y-yeah..." Tasu replied awkwardly, clearly flustered by her bow.
"Alright, let''s go eat!" he added, and they headed back downstairs.
I set the table, trying to make everything as neat as possible.
"Whoa... That looks delicious!" Tasu exclaimed, seeing dinner: fried fish, rice, vegetables, grilled meat, and several sauces. Akusa has always been an amazing cook. His food is always incredible, and this time was no exception!
"It looks delicious!" Kifuru remarked, sitting at the table.
"It''s simple, but I think it tastes good," I said, serving the portions.
We ate, and during dinner, I told them what had happened to me and what I had learned.
"Flame that incinerates the body itself?" Tasu repeated, looking thoughtful in surprise.
"Yes," I confirmed.
"I see... But how did you survive?"
"At the moment I was being incinerated by that flame, part of my memory returned," I explained.
"I remembered how to enhance my abilities and how I can copy those of others."
"However, even I don¡¯t know exactly how the regeneration happened..."
"Now I understand... Wait... What?!" Tasu stared at me in complete confusion.
"F-fine, let¡¯s skip that part..."
"But to put it simply... You heroically saved Kimi and became her boyfriend?" Tasu teased with a grin.
"No, of course not! Why do you always turn everything into a love story?" I sighed, unable to believe my ears.
"So, when are you inviting Kimi over?" Tasu asked with a sly smile.
"I... I don¡¯t know..." I answered shyly, trying to dodge the topic.
"Tell me, you¡¯re taken already, right?" I countered with a question of my own.
"What do you mean?" Tasu looked at me, puzzled.
"Well, isn¡¯t Kifuru your girlfriend?" I asked with a slight hint.
Kifuru blushed, lowering her gaze.
"No, no..." she quickly replied, turning even redder.
"See? As you can tell," I said.
"Got it," Tasu gave up, slightly disappointed.
We chatted a little more before going to bed¡ªtomorrow was a school day.
"The next day..."
"Hey, Tasu!" I called to him as he was still sleeping. "Get up, or you¡¯ll be late for school!"
"Just a few more minutes..." he mumbled sleepily, turning over.
"Then you¡¯re going to school on your own," I threatened, gathering my things.
"Alright, alright, I¡¯m getting up," he reluctantly agreed, finally getting out of bed.
We got ready and left the house. Kifuru decided to stay with us for now and go to school together. I didn¡¯t mind.
"Hey, Akusa, which class are we in?" Tasu asked, catching up to me on our way to school.
"Yesterday Rin sent a letter¡ªwe¡¯re in Class A."
"So that¡¯s the top class among the first-years?" he clarified.
"Yes, it¡¯s the strongest class for first-years."
"And what about Kifuru¡¯s class?" Tasu asked thoughtfully.
"I think she¡¯ll take a few tests today to determine her strength, and then they¡¯ll assign her to the appropriate class."
We were almost at the college when Tasu suddenly noticed someone ahead.
"Hey, Akusa, look!"
"What is it?" I asked, turning around.
"Over there, your sweetheart!" he said with a mischievous grin.
"You again? Are you trying to get on my nerves?" I growled, feeling irritation bubble up.
"No, no," Tasu raised his hands, showing he was joking.
"Hello." A familiar voice greeted us unexpectedly.
"Hi..." I replied, trying not to show my embarrassment.
"Hey," Tasu added.
"Hello," Kifuru greeted quietly, a bit nervous.
"Let me introduce you!" Tasu suggested, taking the initiative again.
"This is Kimi Kishimiya, our friend, classmate, and the ruler of these lands. And this is Kifuru Rielya¡ªshe¡¯s been living with us recently."
"Nice to meet you!" Kifuru said politely, bowing slightly.
"Nice to meet you, too!" Kimi said with a smile.
"Wait... Living with you?" Kimi asked in surprise, feeling a twinge of jealousy.
Here we go... I thought, anticipating her reaction.
"Don¡¯t worry, Akusa¡¯s still yours and will stay that way," Tasu joked, waving his hand dismissively.
At that moment, I couldn¡¯t take it anymore and punched him in the shoulder, sending him flying a few meters.
"Tasu!" Kifuru cried out in alarm, rushing to him.
"Don¡¯t worry, he¡¯s fine," I said calmly, knowing Tasu would recover quickly.
"Why?! What was that for?!" he yelled indignantly, getting to his feet.
"You talk too much," I replied, starting to calm down.
"Alright..." Tasu grumbled, realizing his mistake.
"Still mine... Will stay mine..." Kimi muttered, blushing and flustered.
"Anyway, we should head to college. Our classroom is on the second floor, I think," I reminded them, breaking the awkward silence.
"You guys go ahead, I¡¯ll escort Kifuru to the principal," Tasu offered.
"Alright, we¡¯ll see you in class," I agreed, heading toward the school building with Kimi.
We went to our class, leaving Tasu and Kifuru behind.
Volume 1 Chapter 10
"To the principal?" Kimi asked.
"Yes, Kifuru isn''t from our country," I replied, and on our way to our classroom, I told Kimi who Kifuru was and what had happened to her.
"Maybe I should have gone with them, after all, it would have been easier for me to explain everything.."
"Maybe, but Tasu said they would figure it out themselves.."
"H.. alright, but I¡¯d be happy to help!"
"Yeah, thanks.."
"It seems like this is our class," Kimi said as we approached the doors. I opened them, and she went in first.
Almost immediately, the rest of the classmates swarmed her.
"Um, what?" Kimi said, surprised.
"Kimi, can I shake your hand?"
"Are you really the Kimi?"
"Are you going to study in our class?"
"Can I have your autograph?"
"You''re so popular!" I remarked.
"Aha..." Kimi answered modestly. "After Tadoki dealt with my uncle, the news spread in the papers, and everyone found out the truth about those murders..."
Tadoki really is amazing...
I walked into the class and sat at the back. The classroom looked the same as when I took the entrance exam. A few minutes later, Kimi came up to me.
"Can I sit next to you?" she asked, a bit shy.
"Ah... Yes, of course," I replied, a bit flustered.
The desks were large enough to fit up to six people. After a little while, Shiari entered.
"Hello, everyone!" Shiari said as she came up to us.
"Hi," Kimi replied.
"Can I sit next to you?" she asked.
"Yes, of course," Kimi agreed.
"Do you think we''ll be overloaded with lessons on the first day?" Shiari asked.
"I don¡¯t think so," I said. "Today, they¡¯ll tell us about the rules and probably introduce us to the practical teacher."
"Practical teacher?" she repeated.
"Yes, remember Ms. Rin said she¡¯d be teaching us theory?" I clarified.
"Yeah."
"That means another teacher will be handling the practical lessons."

"Now I get it," Shiari nodded.
A couple of minutes later, the bell rang, and all the students entered the classroom with Teacher Rin. Behind her were Tasu and Kifuru.
"Children, quiet in the classroom," Rin said firmly.
Everyone took their seats, and Tasu headed toward us.
"Today, another student will join us," Rin announced.
"Hello, my name is Kifuru Rielya," Kifuru bowed to the class.
"Pick a seat and sit down," Rin instructed.
Kifuru walked over to us and sat at our desk.
"Now I will tell you about the rules at our college and what they entail. ¡ª First of all, you will have exams three times a year: when you enroll, at the end of the first semester, and at the end of the school year. ¡ª If a student doesn¡¯t meet the requirements for class "A," they will be automatically moved to a lower class. This is fair and logical."
"All the behavior rules will be on the sheets on your desk. You need to memorize them and try not to break them," Rin added.
There was a sheet on the desk, completely filled with rules.
"Besides studying, we will participate in various events. Soon, there will be competitions between schools in the neighboring kingdom. ¡ª And closer to winter, we will go to the country of hot springs."
"Wow, hot springs... I¡¯ve never been there," Kifuru said.
"Yeah, me neither," Shiari replied.
"Today, you will also meet your practical teacher. I¡¯ll give you a couple of minutes to familiarize yourselves with the rules," Rin said.
Everyone began reading the rules, which I already knew. They were quite simple and clear.
"Did you all memorize them?" I asked my friends.
"Yeah..." Shiari replied.
"Yes!" Kimi confirmed.
"Yeah, it¡¯s pretty easy!" Kifuru said.
"Of course, it¡¯s too easy!" Tasu added.
Looks like I¡¯m not the only one with a good memory. Although I still don¡¯t know how strong Kimi, Kifuru, and Shiari are in battle, their memory is definitely impressive. Memorizing over twenty rules with about 300 words in just a few minutes¡ªvery impressive.
Suddenly, a mage appeared at the teacher¡¯s desk. He had long dark hair and matching eyes. He wore dark pants and a shirt, with a cloak over it.
"Children, attention!" Rin said. "This is your practical teacher."
"Hello, everyone. My name is Kirukato Suzune, but you can just call me Mentor," he introduced himself.
Everyone greeted him.
"Why is everyone so cheerful?" I asked my friends.
"You don¡¯t know? Our mentor is one of the strongest mages in our country. He¡¯s considered a hero because a few years ago, he saved us from a fire dragon," Shiari explained.
"He saved the whole kingdom?"
"Exactly."
"Hmm... So he really is strong," I said thoughtfully.
"Alright, let me show you where our practical lessons will take place!" the Mentor suggested.
He created enormous teleportation doors, and we all followed him. On the other side of the doors was a huge canyon with a large lake in the middle, surrounded by mountains.
"This is where our practical lessons will take place," said the Mentor. "I don¡¯t think I¡¯ll push you too hard today. ¡ª Does anyone want to try something?"
"Can I challenge you to a friendly duel?" Tasu suddenly suggested.
"Just like that? Tasu?" I was surprised.
"What? It¡¯s boring otherwise!" he replied.
The Mentor thought to himself that this was the second time someone had challenged him to a duel right after meeting him.
"Well, why not?" he agreed.
Tasu and the Mentor stood opposite each other while the rest of us moved back several dozen meters.
"Shall we begin?" said the Mentor and immediately vanished from sight.
"What? That fast?" Tasu exclaimed in surprise.
He¡¯s probably behind me¡ or above me... Tasu thought.
At that moment, the Mentor, moving at incredible speed, attempted to strike with a downward kick. Tasu leaped toward him, but the Mentor suddenly vanished again and appeared behind Tasu, delivering a blow to his back. Tasu was sent flying several dozen meters.
"How was that?" the Mentor asked.
Tasu slowly got up, creating a massive gust of wind. A hurricane formed around him, lifting dust and rocks into the air.
Kimi cast a large barrier to protect all of us.
"You¡¯re still not giving up," said the Mentor.
Tasu raised his hand upward, flinging the Mentor high into the air.
"You¡¯re strong!" the Mentor shouted as he descended. His cloak and shirt were torn.
"Perhaps we shouldn¡¯t overdo it today?" he suggested.
"Alright..." Tasu agreed.
With my current skills, it¡¯s better to stop here... Tasu thought to himself.
The wind calmed, and Kimi lowered the barrier.
"You¡¯re a very talented mage!" the Mentor praised him.
"Thank you," Tasu replied gratefully.
Volume 1 Chapter 11
Tasu and the Mentor approached us.
"Tasu, that was amazing!" Kifuru said.
"Thanks..." Tasu replied, blushing slightly.
"You¡¯re such a shy one!" I teased.
"Oh, shut up!"
After a brief conversation with the Mentor, we returned to the college and decided to stop by the library.
When we entered, I immediately noticed how massive it was.
In the center were tables for visitors, surrounded by towering bookshelves filled with books on magic.
"This library is over two hundred years old, so there are some very ancient spells here," Kimi remarked.
"I''ll have to come here and read sometime."
"Can we head home now?" Tasu asked.
"Yes, the teacher said there won¡¯t be any more lessons today."
"Then shall we head home?"
"I think so."
We walked outside and headed toward home.
"Tasu, you guys go on ahead. I¡¯m going to stop by the guild," I suggested.
"You want to take on some tasks?"
"Yeah, it¡¯s been a while since I¡¯ve been there."
"Alright."
"Akusa, can I come with you?" Kimi asked.
"You want to take on some tasks too?"
"Yes, if that¡¯s okay."
"I don¡¯t mind. The tasks aren¡¯t too difficult."
"Well, good luck on your ¡®unusual date¡¯!" Tasu joked, waving at us.
Kimi and I made our way to the guild.
"Kimi, I take it that Tadoki fully carried out his plan with your uncle, and now you¡¯re the ruler of the country?"
"Yes, now I¡¯m responsible for everything in the nation."
"So, everything went according to plan."
"Seems like it."
This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.
"Did Tadoki find out who killed your parents?"
"Yes, unfortunately, it was our uncle. As a result, Tadoki took him down. Brutally."
"Sorry for bringing it up."
"It¡¯s fine, I don¡¯t mind," Kimi replied, her voice slightly subdued.
"Have you worked with the guild before?"
"I¡¯ve taken on tasks a few times, but only ones that didn¡¯t require force."
"I see. So you¡¯re lazy."
"No, I¡¯m not!" Kimi protested.
"Then should we take on a more challenging task this time? Or would you rather not?"
"Sure, I don¡¯t mind. It¡¯s not as scary with you around!" Kimi said, blushing slightly.
¡She¡¯s just too cute...
I felt my cheeks heat up.
When we arrived at the guild, it turned out that as a ruler, Kimi didn¡¯t need to take a mana test ¡ª everyone already knew how strong she was.
"What task should we take?" I asked.
The task board displayed three options: two delivery jobs and one involving hunting a mutant wolf.
"It¡¯s unusual that there are delivery tasks here¡"
"There aren¡¯t enough people to transport resources right now, so the guild helps the nation," Kimi explained.
"Got it. Let¡¯s take the wolf task, then."
"Alright."
The guild leader marked the location of the wolf on the map so we could find it faster. We teleported to the designated spot ¡ª a large meadow covered in flowers.
"It¡¯s beautiful here," Kimi said, picking a flower.
"Yeah, it really is."
Surrounding us was a dark forest ¡ª likely the Forest of Death.
"Something¡¯s coming," I said.
"Akusa¡?"
"What is it?"
"Can I try? I¡¯ve never fought mutant wolves before, and I¡¯m curious if I can handle one."
"Alright. If anything happens, I¡¯ll help."
Kimi nodded, and I flew several dozen meters into the air to give her space. From the forest emerged a mutant wolf.
It was gray and stood over three meters tall.
"That¡¯s a big one," I muttered to myself.
The wolf drew closer to us. Kimi extended her hand, and as soon as the wolf tried to bite her, she lightly touched it.
In that instant, the entire wolf froze solid.
I was slightly surprised. Kimi looked at me and smiled.
I descended to the ground.
"Well done, that was impressive."
"Thank you."
"And Kimi doubted whether she could handle it?! A single wolf is far too little for her!" I thought to myself.
"This is one of my strongest spells right now," Kimi admitted.
I approached the frozen wolf and placed my hand on it.
"You didn¡¯t just freeze its body, but its soul as well? That¡¯s impressive."
"Thanks¡" Kimi replied, blushing slightly.
"Alright, time to head back."
"Yes, let¡¯s go."
I snapped my fingers, creating a powerful impulse that completely obliterated the frozen wolf. We returned to the guild.
"Did you complete the task?" the guild leader asked us.
"Yes, it was pretty easy."
"Here¡¯s your reward."
"Akusa, you can keep it."
"A-all right¡"
I was about to suggest that Kimi take the reward, but I remembered that as a ruler, she probably didn¡¯t need the money.
We left the guild.
"Want to take a walk?" Kimi asked, a little shyly.
"Sure, I don¡¯t mind."
We headed toward the fountain in the city center. Along the way, we chatted about my past, which Kimi seemed very interested in.
We bought ice cream and made our way to Kimi¡¯s house.
"Akusa¡ wait¡" Kimi said nervously.
I turned to look at her. She seemed flustered.
"I really enjoyed spending time with you today..." she said quietly. "So thank you!"
"Actually, I should thank you. I didn¡¯t think you¡¯d enjoy being with me."
Of course, I was a little surprised by this turn of events, but it seemed that the surprises weren¡¯t over yet¡
"Silly," Kimi said with a faint smile.
"What? Why?"
"And¡ I wanted to say¡ I like you! Will you go out with me?" Kimi said softly.
For a moment, memories of my life before the sealing flashed through my mind.
I placed my hands on her shoulders, and our lips met.
Kimi was stunned.
I lowered my hands.
"I like you too!"
"And¡ sorry about that¡" I mumbled.
"That¡ was my first kiss," Kimi said, covering her face with her hands, blushing all the way to her ears.
"Are you okay?"
"Y-yeah, sorry, I have to go," Kimi replied shyly and vanished, teleporting home.
Volume 1 Chapter 12 "Uncomplicated Everyday Life"
"Maybe I shouldn¡¯t have done it right away?" ¡ª I muttered to myself. Although, considering I¡¯m not really good at these things, I suppose it¡¯s forgivable.
I moved back home.
"Akusa, you¡¯re back?" ¡ª Kifuru asked.
"Looks like it. And let¡¯s drop the formalities, we¡¯re the same age after all."
"Okay."
Kifuru was standing by the stove, cooking something delicious.
"Where¡¯s Tasu?"
"In his room."
"Then I¡¯ll go to mine..."
"Akusa, wait. Sorry for asking, but are you and Kimi dating?"
"I think so, now."
"I see... And can I ask you one more thing?"
"Another one? Alright, go ahead..."
"Can you tell me something interesting about Tasu?"
"Hm..." ¡ª I paused for a moment. ¡ª "Well, if you want, I could tell you something."
Kifuru kept asking questions about Tasu, and it seemed like she really liked him... What¡¯s with this? And why is the plot always about love at first sight?!
After a while, I headed to my room. I think now¡¯s the perfect time to read the book Kimi gave me.
I stopped at the spell "Barrier." I think I should learn it, it¡¯ll be useful in the future.
I started practicing step by step, just like the book described.
My head hurt a bit, probably because some memories were coming back.
Weak sparks appeared on my palms, probably due to the sudden surge of mana, which caused reactions in the air.
After a few minutes, I could control and strengthen the barrier properly.
"Akusa, Tasu, come eat!" ¡ª Kifuru called.
I left my room and headed to the kitchen. Tasu was already sitting at the table.
"Akusa, why so long?"
"Sorry, I¡¯m not as fast as you..."
"Nah! You just need to stop being so lazy!"
"Maybe..."
The table was full of sauces, steaks, and baked potatoes.
"Looks delicious, let¡¯s dig in," ¡ª Tasu said.

"Enjoy your meal, everyone."
"Enjoy."
Tasu nodded with his mouth full.
"Where are you in such a hurry? No one¡¯s going to steal anything from you."
"Meanwhile, at Kimi¡¯s house"
"What was that?.. And how am I supposed to look Akusa in the eye now¡" ¡ª Kimi thought, lying on her bed, turning from side to side.
"Kimi?.. Is something wrong?" ¡ª Tadoki asked, standing by the door.
"No, everything¡¯s fine."
"Did Akusa do something?.."
"Well... not really... but yes¡" ¡ª Kimi said, embarrassed.
"So he did something after all..."
"He confessed his love to me," ¡ª Kimi admitted, a little nervous.
"And I confessed too..."
"So that¡¯s what happened. Congratulations, you¡¯re a couple now," ¡ª Tadoki said with a slight tease.
"Oh, come on!"
"By the way, bro, why are you here?" ¡ª Kimi asked.
"I came to see Akira about something," ¡ª Tadoki replied.
"But I¡¯m leaving now, so see you tomorrow!" ¡ª Tadoki said, heading home.
"See you tomorrow..."
"Akusa¡¯s house"
"Phew, I¡¯m full, that was really tasty. Thanks!" ¡ª Tasu said.
"No problem, and thank you," ¡ª Kifuru blushed slightly.
"Yeah, it was delicious, thanks."
"No problem."
"Alright, I¡¯ll go to my room."
"Kifuru, do you want to take a walk around the city, while it¡¯s not completely dark yet?" ¡ª Tasu asked.
"Sure, I don¡¯t mind," ¡ª Kifuru agreed, a bit shy.
"That¡¯s it, Tasu Sukuzu will never return to his old life¡" ¡ª I said with a smirk.
"What?"
Kifuru smiled slightly. I waved and headed back to my room to continue studying spells.
The next day.
"Akusa, wake up! You¡¯ll be late for school."
I slowly got up, dressed, and went to the kitchen.
"Morning!" ¡ª I said, yawning a bit.
"Hi."
"Morning."
I sat down at the table to drink some tea and eat a sandwich.
"What time did you get back yesterday?"
"I think it was around ten in the evening."
"I must have gone to sleep early."
"By the way, we found out that in two days, on Friday, there¡¯s going to be a city festival celebrating the victory in the war."
"War? What war?"
"The one that happened a thousand years ago."
"Is it going to be like a festival?"
"Exactly. And we were told that first-years will mostly work as patrols around the city ¡ª it¡¯ll be good practice for them."
"Got it, I guess Kimi will be busy the whole time.¡±
"Aren¡¯t we supposed to go to college?" ¡ª Kifuru asked.
"Oh, right¡"
"Don¡¯t worry, I¡¯ll teleport us straight to the entrance."
"Have you already learned the spell?"
"Yes, a long time ago. I just copied it from Kimi."
"Huh!? Cheating!"
We teleported to the college. There were a lot of students heading to the building.
We walked to our classroom.
"Akusa, come here, please," the teacher said when we were halfway to the class.
"Go ahead, I¡¯ll catch up soon."
"Come here."
It was some sort of separate room with a terrible mess.
"Akusa, I have an offer for you."
"Sorry, I refuse."
"Just like that?! No one¡¯s ever refused me so quickly¡ Maybe you could at least listen?"
"Is this, by any chance, about using me?"
"Well, not exactly."
"And what is it then?"
"How about creating a club?"
"A club?"
"Yes, we have clubs at our school to help students find their activity, and not only that."
"As far as I remember, the rules don¡¯t state that you must join a club, so I refuse."
"Why, if it¡¯s not a secret?"
"Well¡ Let¡¯s just say I¡¯m lazy."
I turned around and went to my class.
"Heh¡" the teacher said, surprised.
I returned to the class and sat down at my seat.
"Akusa, what happened?"
"The teacher wanted me to create a club, but I refused."
"That¡¯s so like you."
A few minutes later, Shiari and Kimi entered the class.
"Hello, everyone," Shiari said.
"Hi."
"Hello."
"Hi," Kimi said, blushing slightly.
"Hello."
She¡¯s so cute... I was charmed...
"Hey, Akusa?"
"Yes, what?"
"Your girlfriend came, and you didn¡¯t even raise an eyebrow! Is that how it¡¯s supposed to be?!" Tasu said teasingly.
"Leave me alone."
Kimi sat next to Shiari and Kifuru.
"Kimi, did Akusa confess to you?" Shiari whispered.
"What? How do you know?"
"So, you and Akusa are a couple now?" Tasu asked loudly.
Kimi turned completely red.
This is the last thing I needed right now...
"Now Akusa Takaru will never be the same," Tasu said with a smile.
"Are you quoting me?"
