Add Goals! Focusing on that, the N.C.C found that they could interact with it. Upon tapping on it a new screen appeared, inundated with a myriad of optional quotas. An enormous list of options compared to his relatively paltry mandatory quota. For a moment the N.C.C felt a shock of fright, so much so that if they were to describe how they felt, they would say they almost had a heart attack. They did not describe themself however, still wary of sabotaging themselves again by opening their mouths without thinking. Getting a hold of themselves the N.C.C looks at the options available. However¡­ looking at the quotas in front of them again, the N.C.C found something peculiar. They all seem to follow a pattern. The views, comments, followers and reviews. But some of them are missing some pieces. Followers don¡¯t have the ¡®have a total of 10¡¯ option, and the views options are missing the ¡®Gain your first viewer!¡¯ one. Then, in front of the N.C.C¡¯s eyes, there was a change. The ¡®Have a total of 5 views.¡¯ option disappeared, and replacing it, a new option appeared below while the other options moved up. ¡­ Have a total of 100 views. Have a total of 200 views. Gain¡­ Looking at it blankly for a second the N.C.C goes back to the main screen and takes a look to confirm if they¡¯re right about what they are thinking. The views have reached 6, and as they watch, it increases to 7. On one hand, the N.C.C is ecstatic, it¡¯s only been half an hour since they started and already they have 7 views, if this rate keeps up. They may meet the quota after all! On the other hand, as they see the count change to 8. They decide to go and add the first optional view total goal. The N.C.C finally had their own gender back. He didn¡¯t even realise he had misplaced it. A bit of terror strikes him as he thinks, what else has he lost? ... He can¡¯t think of anything but he didn¡¯t even realise he was missing a gender until he gained it back, so who knows what else he could be missing. Looking at the main screen again he sees he¡¯s already at 14 views! They are shooting up quick! Rushing, he goes into the Add Goals screen, tapping away as he adds all the view goals. As he¡¯s adding them and then moving onto the comment goals, he wonders. Why wouldn¡¯t someone just add all the goals at once? It¡¯s not like they have a due date like the mandatory quota. It¡¯s as he finishes adding the available total comments goals and moves onto the total follower options that he finds out. It is not letting him add any of the follower goals. As the N.C.C¡¯s panic increases, he tries adding anything, any other goals at all. Then he realises¡­ that there¡¯s a limit to how many additional goals he can have at any one time. It¡¯s time he said something. It shouldn¡¯t sabotage him again hopefully. But if it does, it¡¯s worth it. Because it¡¯s the only way that he can think of to get out of how he has just unintentionally sabotaged himself already. ¡°Hello¡­ I¡¯m not sure if you can hear me. But I need something from you. A single use ability to set the chapter title? What? The next few minutes are tense, as the N.C.C looks back and forth between the main screen and the additional goals screen. Taking the time to analyse more of the additional goals, to see how badly he may have sabotaged himself. But before he can get too into it, a notification appears. Additional Goal (Have a total of 20 views.) achieved. You have been awarded a single use ability to set the chapter title! Excitement shot through him as he looks at the pop-up that has just appeared. Quickly waning when he sees the reward. "A single use ability to set the chapter title? What?" He questions. A chapter title has been chosen. His mouth closes so fast that his teeth clack together. Lips thinning, it appears as if he were sucking on the worlds most sour lemon. The N.C.C, as that what he has continually proven to be, a newbie content creator, is very mad. However he can only be mad at himself. He is the one who has continually, repetitively even, made the same mistakes. This was the third time now, and he internally promised himself that this will be the last time. However, despite the large amount of additional goals, it was shorter than the N.C.C feared it would be. Does that mean he''s somehow finished entire categories already, and missed out on many many rewards? Probably not. However, he does notice that he still is missing a few goals when compared to the pattern he''s expecting out of them. Specifically a few seem to be missing from the beginning of the average views per chapter category, the 1, 5, and 10 per chapter average is missing, which hurts. He also notices that the ''Appear on the front page of your platform'' is missing a ''for the first time!'' option. Does that mean he''s appeared on the front page of wherever his actions are being published? How is that possible? Though, a few of the categories seem to break the pattern he''s expecting, so maybe there just never was a ''Appear on the front page of your platform for the first time!'' option. For example, the longest chapter wordcount goal category starts at 3000, which is the first time he''s seen the number 3 so far. The ''Have your story appear in the Top # of a category'' is also vastly different than standard. He notices that the comment goal additional options are gone entirely. Or at least the total number of comments one, there appeared to be another category of goals for the average amount of comments per chapter that was still there. The view goals also only featured a singular goal for 1000 total views. From this the N.C.C quickly figures out, that the options are missing because they are the goals he has already set for himself, and they are in the main screen. While there''s no helpful indicator, he knows he has 1 free slot out of 10 additional goal slots. The question is, what should he fill the slot with? The ''Gain your first follower!'' goal? The ''Gain your first review!'' goal? Maybe even the ''Gain your first rating!'' goal? But the N.C.C doesn''t hesitate, he knows what goal he wants to choose. There''s are two options he needs to get as soon as possible to not miss out on any rewards, and one of those two options are even more likely to be achieved after what he said to the viewers at the end of the last chapter. Have a comment average of 1/chapter. However, the N.C.C cannot help but think of all the ways this could go wrong. After all, he has no idea how many chapters there are already, to him it feels like only a few hours have passed since the recording started after he made the mishap with naming the title. There could be 10 chapters already, 100 even! There''s no way for him currently to know how his story looks from the outside. If there have been a lot of chapters already, getting a comment average of 1 per chapter could be a huge undertaking, it might take months! Even if he were to somehow meet the mandatory quota, this additional goal may haunt his main screen, taking up a precious spot. Then he notices something, that there is in fact a way to keep track of how many chapters there has been. The total number of chapters additional goals category. He hasn''t reached 5 chapters yet. So he should only require 4 or less comments to meet the goal. Before he spirals into deeper thoughts and the opportunity is lost, he taps on it and adds it to his additional goals. He cannot afford to worry. Its still better than taking the other option he was considering, as that also was part of a per chapter category. Now all he has to do is hope. Hope that nobody follows or favourites, and nobody rates or reviews. Chapter 4 Additional Goal (Have a total of 50 views.) achieved. You have been awarded an additional life! An additional life, what is the point of that? Is what the N.C.C would say, if he wasn''t so cautious about speaking, especially shortly after a new notification appeared and he was rewarded something. While he could see how an additional life is useful, and how it would be incredibly incredibly valued by many many people. The N.C.C doesn''t see how it could possibly be useful to him in his situation. He is not so eager for views and for this endeavour to be successful that he wants to die for it. But now that he has an additional life, he cannot help but think he may, just a little bit, accept dying if it meant meeting the quota, especially since it seems to be so easily given. Still, this was not what he wanted. What he wants most of all, is more of his identity... though he''ll accept a ability to change the description or title that he accidentally set. Focusing, its only been a few minutes since he last achieved that goal and received the reward, he needs to select another additional goal as soon as possible. Otherwise, what if someone were to follow during that time! Setting ''Gain your first follower!'' as his next additional goal. Then seconds later, before he can even open the main screen. Additional Goal (Gain your first follower!) achieved. You have been awarded the ability to travel to the popular setting (Mourned by Morning). That was lucky. In fact that was a bit too fast. Is someone watching him right now? Was someone waiting and watching over his shoulder, waiting to follow until he was able to benefit and wouldn''t lose the goal? Fantastic! The N.C.C didn''t think it was creepy it all. In fact, his thoughts never even went in that direction, which in itself is a bit disturbing. He has a supporter! A follower! Someone who''s going to stand by him and watch him succeed! Since they followed immediately after he set the goal, they seem dedicated to helping him! In his excitement, he also realises he was wrong in his assessment before, there was a way for him to know how many chapters there were at any one moment. He can see the total view count and the average views per chapter. So if he were to just divide the view total by the average view per chapter, he would be left with the number of chapters! Right now with 81 views, divided by 27 views per chapter, would mean that there are 3 chapters so far. So pretty soon, he is going to want to add that ''Reach a total of 5 chapters.'' goal if he wants to be able to get the reward for it. Now, he is back to having only 9 out of 10 available additional goals, so after calming down a bit, he contemplates which goal he should add next. The other per chapter additional goal he had an eye on was the 50 views/chapter goal, and looking at the stats, the views per chapter has been steadily increasing. It is now at 27/chapter. On the other hand, now that he knows he has a follower who seems to want to help him. He can take on the other additional goals, like the one for a rating, or a review! Quickly, while this follower is still watching, the N.C.C goes to select his next additional goal ''Gain your first rating!''. However before he taps on it, he double checks, and finds that this would''ve been a huge mistake. After all there was another category of additional goals that he would''ve missed the goals in if he were to get his first rating, at least if it works the same way other categories have.
