《A Mortal's Immortal Folley》 Ch0: Morbid Ascension Note: much of the first few chapters will follow closely to Worldkeeper, as I intend to have it take place in the same universe, so I want to keep the system much the same. Revamped 19/3/25, 2:45am EST
Two things were immediately clear to the woman currently driving her car as her foot slammed on the brakes. One, her brakes were out. Two, that poor old man currently betwixt her and a truck was definitely not going to survive the next couple of seconds. The first thing to occur was her own vehicle slamming into the man¡¯s body. The second was a spattering of blood ¨C the third was rather unremarkable in comparison to what came next. A plume of nothingness encompassed everythingness and then all was naught. The woman wasn¡¯t quite sure what happened. She¡¯d killed an old man, crashed into what had looked to be one of those new self-driving trucks, and then the world evaporated ¨C quite literally ¨C around her. With nothing else to go on, the woman assumed she was dead. As far as she could see was an endless dark expanse. Beneath what she assumed to be her soul was an off-white mist that flowed freely. This must be purgatory. Her name was Kuan Yin, and before she died, she had been probably the most average person on the planet. An Asian woman of average height, 160cm, with fairly medium-length hair. Her face was nothing above-average, and neither was her body. Not strong, or particularly beautiful; she had been remarkably in the middle in terms of grades as well. There were few things that set her apart from others, and even those weren¡¯t unseen in others. Her love for fantasy novels was quite robust. Her favourite genres were Xianxia and Wuxia, having loved to read about the life of those blessed with monstrous talent, or those who had attained luck beyond luck. Her eyes wandered about the mist, watching it curl into itself in places, Purgatory was¡ quite boring. If that¡¯s what this was. Maybe it was just life after death, with no real title. With nothing to do, and a strong urge pulling her, she fell into a sleeplike lull. The distant dark grew farther. After a very, very long time the darkness stopped expanding, and the off-white mist began to flow less freely. Whatever had been happening was now done. As soon as it finished, a soft snap echoed throughout as if to wake Kuan Yin from her reset. A new light was present now, aside from the faint glow of the mist. It was a gamelike screen, presented in front of her. With a wry smile she wondered if somehow, just like some of her favourite characters, she too had found luck beyond luck.
World Reset finalized. Welcome to the ranks of World Keeper. Please begin designing your body. Note that this is semi-permanent, and is hard to change. For options, simply think ¡®Options.¡¯
A long menu with many options was presented in front of her after the initial screen closed. She waved that to the side, curious to explore what her new toy was. It had been¡ what felt like a long time since she had last had something to do.

She hesitated for a few moments, unsure of how to select what she wanted to. She had no body to press the buttons. Only after thinking about her body did she realize she was stupid; the little panel had already told her how. She just had to think about which to choose. Current Statistics. A blank menu, without any words or numbers, appeared. With a frown, she opted to try World Designer.
To begin designing your first world, please finish creating your own body and finalizing your primary System Companion.
The System Companion Designer showed much the same text, albeit without mentioning itself. With a light sigh, Kuan Yin moved to design her body.
Would you like to use a Species preset, based on the primary Species¡¯ of your prior world and universe, to form your body? If not, please specify that. At the bottom of all three lists is an option to create a customized species.
Three scrolling lists were beneath that. One entitled native races, the second entitled alien races, and the third was entitled fantasy races. She wasn¡¯t exactly surprised by the alien races tab, or well, by the existence of aliens. Scrolling through that list was rather disappointing. The vast majority could barely be classified as living. The few other races that were reasonably considered animals, plants, or fungi were more interesting. Nothing she wanted though. She scrolled through fantasy races next. A small voice nagged at her to just pick human already, but honestly, she just wanted to see her options. It wasn¡¯t like she¡¯d¡ her soul-finger-thing paused.

It wouldn¡¯t hurt to take a look. It wouldn¡¯t be that different from standard humans anyway¡ She expanded it mentally.
Xianxia Human
A Xianxia Human uses Human ¨C Native Race as an important contextual preset, altered by cultural fantasy elements typically originating from Eastern Asia. There are many different variants of what can be considered a Xianxia Human ¨C most primarily, it is a standard ¡®Human¡¯ biological shell with metaphysical aspects superimposed on top of it. The Xianxia Human preset furthermore includes a supernatural ability to ¡®cultivate,¡¯ allowing the individual to draw in Qi from their surroundings. During the process of cultivation, one may attain ¡®enlightenment¡¯ on certain ¡®Daos¡¯. These ¡®Dao¡¯ understandings allow one to alter the fabric of reality to empower their own abilities, created by the Qi a Xianxia Human may cultivate. Of course, not all Xianxia Humans have the same capability to cultivate and attain enlightenments. This metric is represented by talent, and is not available to set for a Worldkeeper. Talent rating will be randomized according to the average rating of all Xianxia-themed fantasies for the Keeper¡¯s body. Once chosen, if the Keeper wishes to alter their talent, they must find a method to do so later in their life. Outside of cultivation, Xianxia Humans have a greater biological strength limit than ¡®Humans¡¯, even without cultivation. A single Xianxia Human adult may be able to take on up to a dozen ¡®Humans,¡¯ if they have an average understanding of combat and strength. Furthermore, ¡¡. The very last trait which set Kuan Yin apart from others, a defining feature in her normality, was a tendency to partake in betting and gambling. There was nothing the woman loved more than playing unfavourable odds and winning big. Still, she held off, until after she finished examining every other choice on the native species and fantasy species lists. There were only three options that interested her. Human, Wuxia Human, and Xianxia Human. Her heart raced, and her attention lingered on the Xianxia Human option. Hesitantly, she focused on it. A new screen appeared, this one green, that seemed to be a slots machine of frankly ridiculous length.
Talent Rating The longest unbroken chain of one-type results will determine your talent for that type''s rating.
.. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..
Off to the side was a helpful menu explaining what the results meant. From what she could tell, there were five separate symbols ¨C one of a spirit, one of a body, one of a hammer and sickle, one of a circle of rocks, and the final one was a brain. Each had a different meaning: Qi Cultivation, Body Cultivation, Crafting, Formations, and Comprehension. Below was another screen explaining how talent rating was calculated. 1-25 = Trash 26-50 = Poor 51-100 = Middling 101-200 = Decent 201-300 = Good 301-500 = Once-In-A-Century 501-750 = Once-In-A-Millennia 751-1,000 = Divine Talent 1,001+ = Child of Heaven She could only assume that meant there were a total of 5,000 slots. With bated breath, she watched as the slot machine spun rapidly, several slots locking in each second. A few minutes passed until the last slot filled, and a screen popped up announcing her talent.

She frowned. It wasn¡¯t¡ particularly good, but it wasn¡¯t as bad as it could¡¯ve been. According to the system, there were even ways to change these later, so for now she¡¯d just accept that and move on. Crafting was quite good anyway, and the thought of refining legendary artifacts was enticing to say the least. Another menu popped up, this one about detailing her body. There was a secondary tab, allowing her to detail her ¡®metaphysical components¡¯. Dantian, meridians, and various Qi pathways and other things. There were some general figures on the side about symmetry, effectiveness, cohesion and quality. Most of them were around 80%. After tweaking them all to 100%, she moved to the physical designer. It was similar to the sims except far more detailed. She felt like smiling looking at the default body in front of her. It was Kuan Yin, prior to her death. Totally average. It wasn¡¯t necessarily what was befitting of what she suspected her role would soon be. Hours passed as she continued sculpting something more than just average. Her pores were shrunk, skin smoothed and beautified. All of her features were altered just enough to make them look better, but still her. A thought danced at the forefront of her mind; she imagined this would be how she looked on her wedding day, had she lived to see one. Hours passed as she sculpted her form, hours more passed until she had finished. If before she was totally average, now she was exceptional in almost every manner. Her height was the only thing remaining unchanged. She was content with her height. Long, silky black hair that reflected the eternal black surrounding her. Her skin tone remained mostly unchanged, only evening out and removing patches of darker and lighter pigmentation. Her proportions were altered somewhat, her waist going from boxlike to a slight curve ¨C but it was mostly her face that changed She couldn¡¯t help but find herself wildly pretty, and confirmed the creation of her body. The previously gentle coils of the mist began to roil as it surged upwards and formed her body. She shivered at the weird sensation of being embodied. It ended quickly, the mist falling off her in tendrils as everything solidified and locked into place. She brushed a hand over her arm and smiled at the sensation. It was a lot better than nothing. She took a few minutes to stretch, and a few more to test out her voice before moving on to designing a system companion.
Please choose an option below. -Custom Companion: For experienced Keepers who just want an extra companion to keep them company. Allows a modifiable body and mind, but does not contain system knowledge. -Default Companion: Recommended for new Keepers, contains extensive system knowledge, and allows a modifiable body. Mind is randomized, but can be altered through natural growth.
Kuan Yin wasn¡¯t stupid enough to believe she could learn everything on her own. She tapped Default Companion, this time with her finger, savouring the tactile system menu.
Input accepted. Please visualize a body for the companion.
With an eyebrow to raise now, it was lifted high. Visualize a body? That¡¯s much different than the option I had been given. She closed her eyes, deciding to try and take advantage of the vague wording. A picture began to form in her mind, a standard beautiful male cultivator, many features matching her own as though they were siblings. The woman didn¡¯t stop there, picturing a trait of immense pressure emanating from him as though the heavens themselves would press down around him if he wished. With nothing popping up to stop her, she tentatively continued building a mental picture, digging into what she pictured his bloodline to be. Her mind continued pouring in the mental image of heaven itse¨C
Please refrain from assigning values according to power systems that have not yet been purchased.
She frowned as she read that, and returned to her mental image. She decided to revamp the species of the companion in her head, mentally merging the current Xianxia Human and Shapeshifter. It worked; but she felt a press on her from the System. With a roll of her eyes she complied to the unspoken demand, limiting its shapeshifting ability to two specified forms. The pressure eased drastically. She hummed in thought; if she couldn¡¯t make him a personification of the Heavens, a symbol of power could work too. She rolled a few ideas around before settling on an auspicious, golden-scaled chinese dragon.
Body data accepted. Mind profile determined. Please wait while the companion is constructed.
A wave of pressure instantly put her on her knees, her head forced to lower. ¡°Shit, he doesn¡¯t have control while he¡¯s being formed?¡± Exasperated, she cursed with no direction in particular. Minutes passed until the pressure eased, and her head rose shakily to meet the eyes of the system companion she had just designed. He met her eyes for a moment, before closing his own and snapping his fingers. A hanfu similar to the one she had imagined him in appeared on herself before he opened his eyes. They were sharp, offset by an easy smile that formed on his face as he shifted into the form of a small golden dragon. Ch1: Budgeting is Hard Note: Revamped on 19/3/25, at 3:45am
Kuan Yin stood, dusting plods of mist off her hanfu as she walked towards the man who had been constructed several feet ahead of her. With a smile on her face matching his own, she performed a slight bow. ¡°My name is Kuan Yin.¡± The dragon shifted back into human form easily, the now-much taller man, around 183cm, bowed deeply and introduced himself as well. ¡°I am called Kuan Tianyi.¡± She smiled. ¡®Broad Heaven¡¯s Will.¡¯ It seemed somewhat apt. Now that introductions were done, she wasted no time moving on to the next portion she previously did not have access to. ¡°Options.¡± Her voice intoned, and the system responded quickly.

Tianyi spoke to her as she selected the World Designer tab. ¡°There are several components required to design a world successfully and cohesively. Firstly, is budgeting. The Keeper System operates on a unit of currency titled simply as points. New Keepers start with 500.¡± I listened to him talk as a menu opened.
World Presets
Mutant World World Size 4 - 30 points Randomized Mutation - 100 points Package - 130 points
Technological World World Size 5 - 40 points Technology Affinity- 20 points Education Affinity - 10 points Package - 70 points
Fantasy World World Size 6 - 50 points Magic Affinity - 20 points Extra Sapient Races- 30 points Package - 100 points
Cultivation World World Size 7 - 60 points Martial Affinity - 10 points Spiritual Affinity - 10 points Longevity - 30 points Package - 110 points
Customized World World Size 1* - 0 points Package - 0 points
Tianyi looked over her shoulder, and decided it would be a good idea to go through all of the choices even though she felt my option was pretty solidly locked in already. ¡°Mutant Worlds have two key components. A smaller world size, comparable to that of Earth. The power system built into this to make it worthwhile though, is Randomized Mutation. Effectively speaking, this power system in general isn¡¯t amazing ¨C but the peaks it can reach are insurmountable when it comes to a default first world. From birth, the rarest and most powerful mutations are like that of a fully mastered Dao.¡± Kuan Yin¡¯s jaw slackened a tad. ¡°From birth? That¡¯s¡¡± Tianyi noticed her expression and smiled gently. ¡°That¡¯s why the world size is so small; a maximum population around thirteen billion. Out of that many, even just two or three at the same time would be a stretch.¡± Even still, that¡¯s¡ a pretty large initial strength level. I can see why it''s priced like that. ¡°Technological Worlds are¡ somewhat different. Usually, these civilizations tend to have a meteoric rise in technological expertise, collapsing their home planet and becoming an interstellar civilization, devouring solar systems for their resources. They would typically advance around a dozen times faster than Humanity did.¡± She frowned. A force like that is only worth 70 points? Without voicing her confusion, she signaled Tianyi to continue. ¡°Fantasy worlds are similar to many of your homeworld¡¯s novels. Lord of The Rings, for example, is based on the true events of another world. I¡¯m not allowed to say anything else regarding this topic yet.¡± Seeing Yin wave him to continue, he did so gladly. She rolled her eyes. This guy really loves to talk. ¡°Cultivation Worlds, and I¡¯m only guessing here, is what you¡¯ve based me and your own self on.¡± She nodded, letting the man talk himself dry. ¡°World Size 7 is the second largest world size available to purchase a new world at. It¡¯s comparable to around twice the size of Jupiter. For reference, it would take just under a year for one of your civilizations cars to travel across its circumference at around 130kmh.¡± ¡°That¡¯s huge¨C¡± she was cut off by Tianyi. ¡°Which isn¡¯t necessarily a good thing. It could take multiple millennia for your civilizations to grow advanced enough, through technology or cultivation, to contact each other. The System maintains a dominant balance on all planets that aren¡¯t custom made, ensuring that life is habitable. Whichever species you choose to inhabit it will determine the physics of how the planet works.¡± WIth a scowl, Kuan Yin spoke. ¡°That¡¯s absurd and unscientific. Won¡¯t it confuse the population?¡± Tianyi looked at her for a few seconds before speaking slowly. ¡°Absurd and unscientific? Did your science tell you you¡¯d arrive in God¡¯s position if you killed him? She shook her head in confusion. ¡°I killed God? What?¡± ¡°The old man. The car crash. Yes, you killed God. That¡¯s why you¡¯re here. If one of the species you populate your universe with kill you, they will usurp you as God.¡± She took a deep breath in, holding it for a second or two before releasing. ¡°I¡¯m going to ignore that. Whatever. Broken physics. I don¡¯t care. Continue, please.¡± Tianyi huffed in exasperation, but agreed to do so. ¡°The rest of the modifiers on a World¡¯s presets are only enough to cover a primitive and archaic power system. It¡¯s recommended to purchase a followup power system before actually populating your world. For now, this doesn¡¯t matter too much. You can just think of them as beneficial laws solidifying what you can and can''t mess with on a template world.¡± She nodded, one hand on her temple trying her best not to get a headache at all the nonsense. ¡°Alright. Cultivation World.¡± The system recognized her choice, and the next menu popped up.
Cultivation Systems
Immortal Bestiary Cultivate alongside beasts who have been tamed to follow you. Their growth is your growth, and vice versa. 30 points The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
General Wuxia Cultivate the body and mind to its absolute peak. A single man to overthrow an army, a dozen to overthrow the world. 60 points
Limited System Choose one of the other cultivation systems, and apply specific limitations. For instance, the General Wuxia system may be limited by bloodline. Dependant on Limitations
General Xianxia They have eyes, yet cannot see Mount Tai. Build your spirit to the peak of neverending realms, ascend to new planes. A sword to strike down the heavens, a spear to pierce the earth, and an axe to cut through death. Immortals rule the world, and for good reason. 95 points
Custom System You may self-define a system of cultivation if none of these options are suitable to your world. If the system acknowledges your design, it will be assigned a price, and placed on the list for future worlds. You may also earn a small income of points whenever your system is chosen by another Keeper. ???
Sons of Heaven This is not directly a system for cultivation, but can greatly influence the cultivation system. After choosing this option, you may begin development of talent-based systems which will be manually granted to chosen figures, or figures who follow a preset storyline. 120 points
She didn¡¯t need Tianyi¡¯s help for this one, simply reading through the list and acknowledging the ones she liked. Firstly, Immortal Bestiary was crossed off immediately. She wasn¡¯t a fan of that, personally. General Wuxia and Xianxia were decent options, and she kept in mind Limited System and Sons of Heaven as potential options as well. She was tempted to cross off Custom System to narrow it down. ¡°Tianyi, can you explain Custom System more?¡± He looked like he was mulling the idea around for a second before answering. ¡°The best I can say is that it¡¯s recommended for experienced Keeper¡¯s.¡± With a frown, she decided to cross it off and trust the man. Why is that the best he can say? Her mind flashed back to Tianyi¡¯s words prior about her killing God, apparently, and that if one of her own people killed her they¡¯d become God next. A dream for all cultivation world denizens. With a shiver, she crossed off General Xianxia. She was a bit too scared of that idea at the moment. Sons of Heavens was, frankly, too expensive at the moment. She crossed that one off as well. Hesitantly querying the Limited System, she piled on General Wuxia.
Please describe the limitation you would like to place on General Wuxia. This will determine the final cost of the world, with a base price of 60 and a minimum price of 5.
She thought about it. At the highest level of cultivation, when one¡¯s prowess has been completely maxed out, they will immediately face Heavenly Tribulation Lightning. If they die, their bloodline will grow weaker, and future members of their lineage will have reduced body cultivation abilities. If they live, they can choose to either stay or immediately ascend to a Xianxia-based world, and their bloodline will grow stronger, and future members of their lineage will have increased body and spiritual cultivation abilities.
The Worldkeeper System has determined this Altered General Wuxia will be priced at 85. Currently, the System does not see a registered Xianxia-based World under your purview. If someone ascends before you obtain such a world, they will be permanently restricted from accessing the Xianxia-based World. Furthermore, any Spiritual Cultivator will not be able to enter this Wuxia world. Furthermore, your universe will be split into two equal sections, with one-way access from the Wuxia-aligned Universal Sector and the Xianxia-aligned Universal Sector. This is a permanent decision. Because this is your first world, such a feat will not be added to the appropriate surcharge. Do not split your Universe again in such a way or you will be replaced.
She blinked. Behind her, Tianyi blinked. Somewhere in the System, they¡¯re both positive that when such a limit had been placed, even it had blinked. Tianyi spoke slowly. ¡°Are you sure you want to do this?¡± Kuan Yin, to her credit, did not immediately agree. ¡°What exactly does this mean?¡± The man opened his mouth for several seconds, choosing his words carefully. ¡°I¡¯m hard pressed to give a proper answer. Basically, this only really applies to Cultivators. If you create, say, a technological world later ¨C they can cross into both without issue. Same for fantasy, and anything else. However, the problem lies in that one portion of cultivators, either Wuxia or Xianxia, will never be able to access some worlds because they¡¯re on separate planes ¨C the Xianxia plane and the Wuxia plane. Thankfully this only applies to your universe, or I¡¯d have to strongly encourage you not to agree. As it is now, it¡¯s not actually¡ that bad. If I were you, I¡¯d just change your limitation to include the fact that you can change the boundaries of the Wuxia and Xianxia planes.¡± She quickly added that stipulation, and the price rose from 85 to 205, meaning she¡¯d have already spent 315/500 points¡ With a deep breath she accepted it. The next set of menus was to set up a list of cultivation realms, and a generalized description for each and the process in which one would complete it. There was a price tag of 5 for one realm, which doubled with each subsequent realm thereafter. Kuan Yin¡¯s shortest iteration of Wuxia realms ended up at 5, which was still 80 points of cost.
Cultivation Realms
Skin Tempering Three Realms Infuse the skin with Warrior Qi, and once filled to the limit of the minor realm, you will significantly enhance the defense of your skin. The first realm will block weak strikes, the second will block dull tools, and the third can block the edge of a standard knife. Strength is provisionally increased. Each minor realm only adds a small increment in power.
Muscle Tempering Six Realms Each section of the body must be tempered one by one, Left arm, Right arm, Left leg, Right leg, Torso, and Head (in any order). Each minor realm enhanced the tempered body part massively in strength and defense. A tempered limb can withstand even a sharp blade¡¯s strike from someone at the Skin Tempering realm.
Bone Tempering Two Realms Each bone in the body must be tempered and transformed. Individual bones enhance defense greatly, and strength slightly. Once all bones have been tempered, they must go through an overall metamorphosis that gives them a clouded green jade-like visage. This metamorphosis must be done in one session. Once completed, strength and defense rise exceptionally.
Body Purification Nine Realms Each realm is a deep-cleanse that removes toxins, impurities, and imperfections accumulated from the other realms and from daily life. This stage massively enhances speed, strength, and defense for each minor realm. This process requires exorbitant amounts of medicinal resources, Qi, and time. A single minor realm could take up to a few years. Each minor realm must be completed in a single session. Failing a minor realm can set you back up to three minor realms, or to the start of Body Purification if the warrior is not yet more than three minor realms in.
All Returns to One One Realm The cultivator works on deeply connecting every part of their body with every other part. This allows them unprecedented control over their muscles, bones, ligaments, tendons, and everything else. At this point, cultivators do not need to eat or sleep more than once monthly due to exceptional control over their faculties.
She was hesitant on the final realm for a couple reasons, but decided that she needed to have a simple realm be the last one just to ensure that it was possible for even a decent amount of cultivators to advance to the Xianxia plane. What she was most worried about was too many getting there before it was created. If necessary, she could create a followup to this that required one to already be at the All Returns to One cultivation stage to begin cultivating in the Xianxia plane, alongside a Xianxia Realm structure. Satisfied with her thought process, and Tianyi nodding encouragingly behind her, she clicked accept. The next menu was fairly standard, in her mind at least. A cultural determinant ¨C essentially how she wanted cultures to pan out. Without much thought in mind, she wrote down a basic description as it asked her to.
Cultural Determinant Please input a description of how you would like the culture in your world to head towards, if you want this at all. If not, feel free to leave this blank.
A heavy cultural lean towards Chinese Wuxia culture, and language. A heavy architectural lean towards Chinese, Japanese, Chinese Wuxia and Chinese Xianxia based architecture.
¡°That¡¯s really all you need for this section.¡± Tianyi provided helpfully. Kuan Yin snorted, agreeing as she confirmed it.
[Altered General Wuxia World] Pantheon
[Occupying God] [God¡¯s Domain] [Open/Closed to Ascension]
¡ ¡ ¡
¡°Ah, the Pantheon Menu. Right, this one requires a little bit of explaining. Right now, you¡¯ve only got a single free slot to name a God. To expand this, everytime your world goes up a rank naturally it will increase, or a direct increase can be bought with points. Assigning a God will unlock a Domain, which will give them essentially partial access over reality that pertains to it. Think of Poseidon and the Sea, or Zeus and his storms. Whether or not it¡¯s open or closed to Ascension means that at the pinnacle of cultivation, whether or not someone can ascend to fill the role. You would have to create a position such as: God¡¯s Domain, Lightning, and the person who wishes to ascend must have their cultivation and dao focus as lightning. If they don¡¯t, they can¡¯t fill that slot. If it¡¯s closed, it means whoever has that slot when assigned will keep it until you motion otherwise. You can also leave it empty until someone you believe worthy shows up.¡± I nodded, mostly following along with his explanation. Without much thought, I filled in my only God. Kuan Tianyi ¨C Heavenly Dao ¨C Closed to Ascension. ¡°Thinking about the meaning behind the domain will work for what it encompasses, right?¡± Tianyi, slightly dumbfounded, just nodded. ¡°Great. You¡¯re now the God of Tribulations, Fate, Oaths, and Justice. If someone does something reprehensible, you can worsen their fate if you want. If someone breaks an Oath sworn on your name, you must punish them. When one wishes to ascend, you must give them a tribulation to pass and prove their worth.¡± She saw his face twitch and smiled. That¡¯s right. I just gave you all the tedious work. Nonetheless, he bowed deeply and held a smile on his face. ¡°Thank you for bestowing me with such an honorable position. You should begin to fast forward until your first civilization has been formed. All Creators have this option for free, though some choose not to take it." I tilted my head as I looked at him. "Why would they choose not to take it?" "They wish to eliminate any possible threat to their evolving civilization, or through natural selection evolve them to be a certain way without spending points." I let out what I hoped was an understanding sound, and pulled up the stat page for humans.

I glanced towards Qinglong. "Is there any way I''d be able to do that for humans?" He frowned in response. "Unfortunately, no. Wuxia Humans are a system preset. They cannot be edited through evolution, but the upside is that they cannot become extinct before the civilization era." I didn''t miss that last part. Before the civilization era. I hummed. "Alright. How do I begin the fast forward?" "I can do it for you, Creator. I know you''re not too fond of navigating through many panels." I laughed a bit. Walking under the gazebo, I enlarged the globe of the planet and watched it spin slowly. "Start the fast forward." Without receiving a reply, I watched closely as the planet began speeding up. Thousands of full rotations were happening every second, as I zoomed in and out on certain parts I saw them. Creatures of the air, land, and water all evolving. Growing. Adapting. The ones in particular I looked out for were the monkeys. Those, if I remembered correctly, would be my humans.
Congratulations! You have earned a basic achievement. For the first time, a creature on your world has learned to craft tools. +15 Points
I clicked on the notification and the planet shifted, bringing me to the ape who''d crafted what seemed to be a makeshift sword. Not even half a second later, he had died and in his place were several of his offspring, wielding similar tools. I watched in fascination as the single family gradually grew into a tribe of monkeys using and developing tools, their hands and bodies morphing. Rapidly, under my very eyes, I watched as the first human settlement evolved. I shouted a question back at Qinglong without even turning to look at him. "Is it normal for them not to move from one spot?" "For a Cultivation world, it is quite normal. It likely means that the qi density there is rather high." That made sense. I looked around the area, and it was rather beautiful. Massive trees and shrubbery, and very primitive shelters. It was located on the top of a mountain. I''d realized it only after I zoomed out. On a rather secluded island as well. The world was enormous. I was beginning to finally understand what a tier 7 world size meant. The island the developing primates were on was perhaps the size of a medium to large country on earth, yet it covered maybe a hundredth the size of one of the four major continents. A sigh escaped me. It would take a long time for this world to entirely become civilized. I scrolled around for a bit on the island. There were only four or five ruins throughout it. The closest was a few kilometers off the base of the mountain, though it would likely be a long time before any of the monkeys got there. I asked another question, my back still turned to Qinglong. "When does the civilization era begin?" Unauthorized use of content: if you find this story on Amazon, report the violation. "Whenever your race has finalized their evolutionary path, and has named their first settlement." I nodded. "How long should it take?" Another question, but one I needed to know. "Several more hours. Would you like to take a nap while you wait, Creator?" I stifled a yawn that had been building. "Yes, that would be nice. Please wake me as soon as it happens, or if anything major happens beforehand." With a bit of concentration, I visualized a beautiful white bed that curved with the railing of the gazebo. With little dignity, I fell onto it and paid little mind as the world darkened.
A bright blue notification seemed intent on burning my eyes as I woke up. Ignoring Qinglong, though I hadn''t even really heard what he said, I tried to read it through the tiredness.
The first race of Earth has entered the Civilization Era. Wuxia Humans have begun joining together to found a sect, naming it Azure Dragon Sect. Wuxia Humans - Population: 1,800. Average Realm: Mortal Rebirthing, First Ascension Basic Humans - Population: 3,500. Average Realm: Mortal. Current Sects established - Azure Dragon Sect
I waved it away before questioning Qinglong. "Why do I have both Wuxia Humans and Basic Humans?" "Basic Humans tend to naturally evolve. They have no cultivation talent, however, and cannot gain it through evolution." I nodded, standing up from the bed I was on. I zoomed in on the globe and frowned. "The mountain I was looking at before, that''s the Azure Dragon Sect right?" Qinglong nodded as I turned to face him. "So why is there only a few hundred people at most there?" "Of course, Wuxia Humans evolved all across the world. Having a few hundred in one place at the moment is the most unbelievable part in my opinion." I shrugged, but accepted that made sense. I zoomed back in on the sect. Everyone within it had light blue and white robes, though none had weapons. I searched through the compound a bit before I found what seemed to be some kind of library. Several people were reading a rather torn and destroyed notebook. They were older, with grayed hair and serious looks on their faces. I chose to watch silently, Qinglong staring into the globe from behind me. "Have you finished deciphering the text, Xuhan?" I felt a smile grow on my face. "Yes, Sect Master. This book... it really is a cultivation technique from the ancient civilization." Gasps echoed throughout the room. "How did they manage to control the Qi?" Several people spoke over each other, though they all asked about the same thing. "The technique says to sit down within an area dense with qi, and to let it flow through your meridians and dantian." The room was silent with shock. Only the Sect Master spoke next -- a laugh from him echoing in the quiet hall. "We were idiots. We thought the Qi was to temper our fortitude, so we refused to let it in. We refused to see any other paths. We may be too old to learn from it, but the new generation of disciples..." His sentence was left unfinished, and his eyes seemed to cloud over as he looked out towards the door of the room. "They will push through and cultivate, for the glory of the Azure Dragon Sect." The man who had deciphered the text, who was much younger than the rest of the people in the hall, spoke. Even he was in his late thirties at the least. "Xuhan, notify every disciple. In two days, we will release this technique. We need at least thirty copies, can you do it in that time?" Xuhan nodded. I took this time to look at the title of the cultivation manual. Celestial Dragon''s Body. I giggled. Cultivation technique names were so over the top. I stepped away from the globe. "Qinglong, how do I see if there have been any new sects created?" "There''s a menu called ''World Power Rankings.'' It will show a list of all world powers, though you can specify how many you want to show at a time." I bowed again to Qinglong, before opening the Menu.

I only bothered displaying the top five. Everything below those were fairly insignificant, though some of them had fairly audacious names. What truly surprised me though was the fact that the Azure Dragon Sect wasn''t in first place. Crimson Gate sect, huh? I spun the globe until I found the marker placed on their sect. They were located on the smallest of the four continents, though still many times larger than the island of the Azure Dragon Sect. Their sect was located on a somewhat large mountain range, with nine peaks. It took me a decent amount of time before I realized the reason behind the average realm. On each peak was a single elder, and on the central peak was the sect master. Each of them had countless disciples. The elders all seemed to be around the fifth ascension, while the sect master... I brought up his page. Ninth ascension. I let out a low whistle. That was pretty strong, huh? He seemed to luck out pretty hard on both talent and spirit root, though the cultivation manual he was using was fairly subpar. It did only cost 0.2 points I suppose. The name was quite domineering though. Phoenix Ascension Manual. It required the user to attune their Qi to the fire element and literally reforge their body through flame. Their Qi would repeatedly burn through ''weaker'' flesh, and rebuild it stronger. I watched them for a while before it became clear nothing too interesting was happening. I began to inspect the rest of the world. What was everyone else up to? Ch4: Ascending Through the Crimson Gate Liu Xi, the First Ancestor. A smile crept onto his face as he thought about that title. He was the start of everything his sect would become. He looked calmly at the dozens of disciples that trained on his compound. Sparring, meditating, reading. He himself had reached the zenith. But there was more. He could feel it. He looked through the torn, ancient notebook once more. It wasn''t enough. This technique wouldn''t allow him to break through. He grabbed the quill to his right and began to scratch down notes. His body and mind weren''t unified, and it was proving to be a problem. Liu Xi felt the world vanish as he contemplated his technique. His body needed to be purified in it''s entirety, much different from what had already been done in the previous nine ascensions. He set the quill and paper down as he felt enlightenment approach. His Qi boiled underneath his skin, raging hotter and more violent than it had in perhaps the last decade. Pain. His whole body was on fire as his Qi infused itself through every cell, rebirthing every bone and muscle. For a fraction of a second, Liu Xi -- an unparalleled genius within his generation -- feared death. The scorching heat of fire and lava pulsed along his spine. Without notice, the pain vanished and a euphoric surge of strength surged throughout his body. His eyes snapped open as a gust of wind exploded. What had begun during the early hours of the morning had long faded into night, yet every disciple stood watching him in rapt attention. Several elders had crossed from their own mountain peaks to watch as well. Liu Xi smiled and let out a laugh. "Come, Elders. I wish to have a spar."
I blinked, confused by the notification.
Congratulations! You have earned a basic achievement. For the first time, a creature on your world has reached enlightenment and broke through to the second major realm. +5 Points
With a tap of the notification, I was brought to the scene of the Crimson Gate Sect once more. Only a few years had passed on the planet since her last inspection, yet the Sect Leader had already broken through? I was greeted by the sight of Liu Xi facing off against all nine of the peak masters. By this point, they were all well into the seventh ascension. I didn''t want to miss a single moment of the fight.
Liu Xi stood with his hands behind his back, a cocky grin on his face. The first elder rushed towards him; he didn¡¯t bother to dodge. ¡°Elder Dong,¡± He spoke casually. ¡°Your Heaven Shaking Fist technique is lacking.¡± The Elder didn¡¯t bother to reply, choosing instead to rocket his fist towards the face of Liu Xi. The Sect Leader''s feet shuffled along the ground, a technique he had practiced for nearly his entire life. The Serpentine Dance. In an instant, he was behind Elder Dong. A simple chop to the back of the neck and the elder was out cold. With Liu Xi''s attention diverted, the rest of the Sect Elder''s had rushed towards him. Some wielded primitive stone weapons, like swords or spears. Others used only their fists. They all shouted the names of their techniques as they rapidly approached. "Heaven Devouring Strike!" Stolen content alert: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences. "Mountain Splitting Chop!" "Flood Dragon''s Palm!" ... Liu Xi hardly payed attention. Without looking, his body danced between their attacks as he landed simple strikes on all of them. With a relaxed smile on his face, he contemplated the fight. The realm of Mortal Rebirthing was no longer enough to challenge him. He let his fire Qi pulse as it condensed into his hand after striking the neck of the seventh Elder. Only one more person stood now. "Tsu Shi," The Sect Leader spoke. The loud cheers and conversations from the disciples were silenced instantly. "Why had you not informed me you had broken through to the ninth ascension?" The man opposite him had a fierce look on his face. His sharp brows and defined features made him quite handsome. Liu Xi, on the other hand, already resembled an old man. "Is it necessary to report every little thing, respected Sect leader?" The look in his eyes was deadly, and Liu Xi took note of that. "Do you covet my position?" His question cut straight into Tsu Shi''s goals, evidenced by the frown on his face deepening. "Your reign is over, old man. Just because you''ve attained some new realm doesn''t erase what happened thirty years ago." Liu Xi''s face darkened. "That expedition was impossible to predict. You cannot blame that on me." Tsu Shi didn''t respond, his earth qi coating his fists in provocation. Liu Xi responded in kind as a light sheen of Qi appeared on his hands, several observers gasped. The Qi was so thick it was visible! Liu Xi dashed forward, reaching the man in a single step. Tsu Shi''s face darkened. "Sun Strike." Liu Xi''s fist slammed into his jaw, his body soaring several dozen meters until it rolled to a halt. His face had slight burns on it, visible as he stood up to face Liu Xi again. Next to him, the knocked out form of Elder Ban Kai was stretched out on the floor, along with his spear. Tsu Shi grabbed the spear, a deadly expression on his face. "Liu Xi, I didn''t want to do this." He inspected the spear as he filled it with Qi. "But you''ve left me no choice. I wanted to keep this trump card hidden." Sensing the danger, Liu Xi''s eyes widened as he propelled himself forward to strike Tsu Shi once more. He was too slow. "Tribulation Piercing Spear!" Tsu Shi launched the spear, it nearly vanishing from sight -- directly appearing in front of Liu Xi. His speed rushing forward, and the speed of the spear piercing toward him met. It went straight through his body and dragged it along the trajectory of the weapon, pinning him to the wall on the opposite side of the courtyard. He let out a small cough of blood as shock and horror went through the rest of the sect. Tsu Shi had just slain Sect Leader Liu Xi!
I was dumbfounded. What the hell had happened in the short time I went to view the other sects and villages? "Qinglong, is there any way I can go down to the world and train?" I asked, zooming around the planet trying to find a decent spot. The dragon hummed. "You don''t necessarily need to go down to the planet to train. The Admin Room is always equal to the densest Qi zone under your control." I gave him an odd look. "You didn''t think to tell me that before?" The dragon laughed. "It was not necessary. If you plan to descend onto the world, however, your current strength is massively insufficient. You are equivalent to the first ascension in the Mortal Rebirthing realm." I let out a sigh. "Can I buy some kind of manual or something for myself?" I checked my point count. 70 points seemed quite sufficient, considering the manual that both Tsu Shi and Liu Xi had cost less than a point each. Qinglong confirmed that. "If you want, I can bring up the best techniques you can buy that will suit you the most." I smiled at Qinglong. "That would be wonderful, Qinglong. Thank you." I waited for the next menu to pop up, excited to see what kind of overbearing technique names I''d get.
Warning!
God ''Qinglong'' is requesting to spend 70 points on the following shop items. 1x Sun and Moon Celestial Body Manual (35 points) 1x Divine Spear Dance Manual (25 points) 1x Average Iron Spear (10 points)
My eye twitched as I turned to give him an odd look. "Why the hell does an average iron spear cost ten points?" Ch5: Why is Cultivating so vague? Tsu Shi felt his strength fading as his right arm hung limp by his side. He wasn''t ready for that technique, but he''d used it anyway to slay Liu Xi. With blurred eyes, he swept the compound looking desperately to find the easiest way out. Already his feet burst into motion as he dashed for the left side of the open field, his body leaping over the wall as several younger and weaker disciples chased after him. He was exhausted, and his Qi reserves were nearly empty. His body, rather than running down the steep mountain, more resembled an uncontrolled tumble. A jagged rock tore a gash through his left arm, several other large rocks bruising him and launching him into the air as he continued his descent. He could no longer hear the disciples or Elders giving chase. He let his consciousness fade. At least, Yu Ti''er, I avenged you. His body went limp as it rolled down the final stretch of the mountain and into a lake that sat at its base. His earth qi dance with vigor, creating small waves as he sank into the depths.
I watched Tsu Shi with interest as me and Qinglong spoke. "The cost of the spear is based on the development of your world. As people have yet to advance to the iron age, buying a spear like that might be enough to have it called a divine artifact." I frowned. I guess it made sense, but the concept of an iron spear being called a divine artifact seemed bizarre. Without too much more thought, I purchased the three items. Qinglong found them specifically for me, so they should be rather decent even for their price. I looked into the Sun and Moon Celestial Body manual first. After all, I needed at least some cultivation to practice the spear technique.
Sun and Moon Celestial Body, Cultivation Manual
As with any cultivation technique, you must first enter a meditative state and realize your inner Qi to progress. After doing so, the next step in the manual will be shown to you.
I looked to Qinglong for guidance. "Why can''t I see the entire manual at once?" "Doing so could disrupt your understanding of the technique, and cause harm. The system put this sort of barrier in place to prevent that." I shrugged, before sitting down in a meditative pose and closing my eyes. "Let me know if that Tsu Shi guy does anything interesting. Breaking through to the Qi Infusion realm like that," I muttered the last part under my breath. I didn''t bother to finish the thought. Instead, I cleared my mind as I focused on trying to sense my Qi.
Tsu Shi woke with a start, grunting in pain as he felt the many bruises and cuts along his body. His head whipped side to side to try and get an understanding of where he was. A rather small wooden hut made of logs. The bed he was on was crafted from a dense layer of leaves atop a long stone to support his body. On him were various bandages made of plant fiber. Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation. With unsteady feet, he rose, leaning on the wall with his left arm. Searing pain shot through his body from the long gash that ran across it, forcing him to let his arm down again. He grunted in pain, but didn''t try again. These injuries already made him too vulnerable. He hobbled over to the shoddy door and pushed his weight against it, letting it swing open. The sight that greeted him made his heart flutter in fear for a moment. Hundreds of people, in a village large enough he could barely see the edge of it. It was bustling. What caught his attention next though made his mouth go dry. A woman in long white cultivator robes, a bamboo hat on her head tilted down to cover her face, and a basic stone sword strapped to her waist sharpened to a deadly point. She walked towards him leisurely, though he knew he wouldn''t be able to run even if he tried. His injures were too extreme. He reached out his Qi senses, gauging her strength. She was at the peak of the ninth ascension, reaching the boundary he''d only just managed to cross through a life and death battle. He sighed and once again resolved himself to death. "Greetings, Senior." She bowed, and he blanched. What?
I suppressed an excited squawk as I finally grabbed hold of my Qi. Now, I could feel it course through me like a shallow stream of water. I opened my eyes to view the manual again.
Sun and Moon Celestial Body, Cultivation Manual
Congratulations on sensing your Qi for the first time. To progress, you need to condense two cores of Qi within your body of opposing elements. Ying and Yang are recommended, but any will work as long as they oppose each other in nature. After doing so, the next step in the manual will be shown to you.
The name was fairly apt, I realized. I hadn''t considered what implications it might have. "Qinglong, what exactly is ying and yang natured Qi? How do I condense a core, let alone two, and attune them to these natures?" I watched mirth fill his eyes. "Not everything can be given so freely, Creator. These ideas have not yet been discovered on your world so I cannot share them with you." I rolled my eyes with a huff. "Call me Kuan Yin, please." I waited a few moments for him to acknowledge it, but it seems like he''d rather pretend to haven''t heard it. It didn''t really bother me, so I just continued my focus inward. What was Ying and Yang, really? Life and death? Creation and destruction? Good and evil? These were all very vague concepts. I frowned. This would likely take a long time. I hope Tsu Shi survives long enough for me to meet him, his story seems rather interesting.
Tsu Shi sat in a meditative pose, watching with curiosity as the girl in front of him cultivated. She''d offered no details about herself, and he didn''t truly have the strength to demand them at the moment. She''d only wanted to know how to break through. Knowing in his current state, she could kill him at any moment, he hadn''t refused. What shocked him the most was how rapidly she was progressing. To infuse Qi into every cell of your body was an incredibly painful process, one which he''d only done by accident during his descent down the mountain. It had also taken his entire descent down the mountain. Several hours of high-speed travel, both willing and unwilling, down from the peak. Yet, after just half an hour, this lady was already approaching the final stage of the break through. Her head and spine were the only two parts left to be transformed under the infusion of Qi. Tsu Shi, for the first time in his life, was utterly outclassed in terms of talent! He thought for a few moments about slaying her before deciding otherwise. If he could gather her as an ally, the Crimson Gate Sect wouldn''t dare to pursue him! Ch6: Qi Attunement It took me three months within the admin room, equivalent to nearly a decade on the planet below, to gain an understanding of both Ying and Yang Qi. Within these three months, I had advanced to the fourth ascension of the Mortal Rebirthing realm through channeling my unnatured Qi according to the Sun and Moon Celestial Body manual. Frowning as I turned to the planet, I examined a person at the same realm as myself. Our quantity and quality of Qi was vastly different, in my favour. I checked a few others before turning to Qinglong. "Why is there such a large difference in Qi quality and quantity between me and the other humans?" Qinglong lazily floated around as he answered. "The quality of your manual is much higher, Kuan Ying." I smiled. I believe that was the first time he used my name since I''d become the Keeper. The word felt odd in my mouth, but Qinglong had told me to use it in place of ''God.'' "I see. Thank you, Qinglong." I turned my focus back to what felt like a lake of Qi within my body. It was unformed and unshaped, sloshing chaotically around within my body. It was becoming difficult to circulate through my meridians, which is when the manual had advised me to construct both cores of Ying and Yang Qi. What I had to do now was attune it to these concepts. My solution for this had come from a small revelation in regards to the technique name. Sun and Moon. That likely meant I could attune it to Ying and Yang the closer I was to both; which on the planet meant traveling to a mountain peak and cultivating under the the sky and focusing on both natures. Qinglong had confirmed it after I''d come to that conclusion. Exiting the gazebo, I jumped lightly and landed on top of its roof. Qinglong curled around me, curiously watching. I closed my eyes and exerted my will on the admin room. Above the gazebo, two equally sized globes appeared -- one glowing white hot, licks of flame curling off it and lashing around wildly. The other was quiet and dark, orbiting the sun in silence. I felt a smile grow on my face as I used my Qi sensing. It had worked. The sun radiated Yang Qi, and the moon radiated Ying Qi. Focusing once more, the planet within the gazebo appeared in the center of the two celestial bodies. I sat in a meditative position, fixed in the center of the sun and moon. The planet lay in my lap, and I watched briefly to see what had happened over my brief period of absence.

With a frown, I noted the absence of the Crimson Gate Sect. I would have to ask Qinglong about its fate later. The Jade Lotus Sect was also surprising. Their member count was rather low, but their average cultivation was insanely high. Were they seeking out people with high talent to recruit? I ignored the Buddhist sect in its entirety. I suspected something like that might pop up, as this was a Wuxia world. I took my attention off the globe and returned it to my own cultivation. In my Qi Ocean, I gradually began to replace the pure Qi with equal parts Ying and Yang. A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation. Minutes. Hours. Days. Weeks. Nearly a month had passed since I first began to work the natured Qi into my body, and it was unbelievably slow. Even now I was only about halfway done, yet my realm had progressed to the sixth ascension. I grunted as I turned to Qinglong. "Would it be faster if I went down into the world?" He gave me an inquisitive look. "It would be faster, yes. The energies of a true celestial body far outweigh these two creations. However, you would not be safe if you went into the world as of now." His voice was adamant. I frowned as I looked at the notification in front of me. After nearly another decade on the planet had passed, though only about a month here, I finally received another notification.
For the first time, a creature on your world has reached enlightenment and broke through to the third major realm. +5 Points
I could only shake my head in disbelief. With such inferior techniques, they had broken through to the third major realm already? I clicked onto the notification and saw a face I didn''t recognize. Pulling up her identification, I understood.
Name Mei Lei Race Human(Wuxia)
Health 650/650 Qi 2,500/2,500
Strength 185 Stamina 750/750
Comprehension / Talent 22 Spirit Root Excellent
Twenty-two talent was the highest I''d seen so far, and an Excellent grade spirit root only complimented that. She was definitely the Sect Leader of the Jade Lotus Sect, so it made sense why she''d reached the third major realm already. Looking at my own stats, I sighed as I saw my talent and spirit root empty. I''d already asked Qinglong why that was -- I needed a body within the world to get those stats. Of course, I could possess someone to steal theirs. But they had to be below my realm, which Mei Lei definitely wasn''t. I watched her for a few days as I cultivated. She was a practitioner of a technique she''d taken to calling the One Hundred Jade Fists that she herself had created. I thought about learning it, but decided it would be better to learn it after I had finished the first major realm. I had a spear, so a melee technique wasn''t exactly something I needed at the moment. I let time pass again as I watched over the world. Weeks passed before I finally finished attuning my Qi equally to both Ying and Yang. I brought up the manual for the Sun and Moon Celestial Body technique. It said exactly what it had before. I needed to condense two Qi cores, one for Ying, and one for Yang. Every other technique I''d seen until now only formed one. I supposed it would make sense. I did have excessive amounts of oppositely natured Qi, so trying to form a single core with it would likely lead to my death. I felt the Qi swirl around within my body. I had reached the Eighth Ascension by this point, the thick Qi swirling around was difficult to control at best. It took three days and three nights of constant effort before the two cores had been formed. Highly compressed balls of Qi, really. But their purpose was clear. Immediately I felt my control over my Qi grow exponentially as the cores began a binary orbit within my dantian. Qi poured in from the Admin Room as I felt myself immediately break through into the peak of the ninth ascension. With a grunt, I realized that my body was beginning to fill with a little too much Qi. I hadn''t been prepared for the major break through just yet, but I suppose I didn''t really have any other choice now. I felt pain surge throughout my body as the breakthrough began. Ch7: System Designer Qinglong I felt sweat pour down my forehead as I attempted to train the One Hundred Jade Fist scripture. From the occasional laughs Qinglong threw my way, I knew I wasn''t doing a very good job. With a frustrated grunt, I allowed myself to collapse onto the floor. I was in the first realm of Qi Infusement. All I would have to do to propel myself into the third major realm was simply infuse Qi into my spirit and bind it to my body. Easier said than done, of course, which was why I was training techniques instead. This specific technique... I simply wasn''t talented enough. With a frustrated sigh, I debated whether or not I should just descend. I would be in the upper echelons of strength, even in just the second major realm. Qinglong decided now would be a good time to grab my attention. "Kuan Yin, I believe there is a mortal below that you would wish to view." I hummed as I walked over to him as he peered into the floating globe. A tiny child entered my sight. With a brief inspection from my Qi Sense, I was shocked. Immediately I opened up her system panel.
Name Ming Yun Race Human(Wuxia)
Health 16/16 Qi 20/20
Strength 5 Stamina 7/7
Comprehension / Talent 35 Spirit Root Heaven-defying
This newborn child... was a demon! What insane luck! I felt my jaw drop as I turned to Qinglong. "You said before there was a way to absorb a persons talent and spirit root, right?" I spoke slowly. I didn''t want to cut this child''s story short, but I did need to guarantee my survival as the Keeper. Having someone so talented run wild was a recipe for disaster. Qinglong frowned. It was clear he disapproved of it, but there was also understanding in his eyes. "Yes, Kuan Yin. Possessing the body of this child will transfer both the spirit root and talent to you." I waited for him to continue, his hesitation fairly obvious. "The reason being is that the soul of this child is the container of its talent and spirit root. Possessing its body, your two souls would merge and fight for dominance. In a cultivation world like yours, this essentially means that whichever person has the higher cultivation realm will win." I frowned and nodded. "This child was born into the Jade Lotus Sect, however. A sudden disappearance from a child as talented as this... You would have to live out their life fully, unless you were truly in danger." I gave a sigh. That was not what I wanted to hear. This content has been misappropriated from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. But if it is truly what must be done... I stared at the body of the infant. Would it be better to take it over now, and avoid the troubles of infancy, or later when it was a true person? Something like that would basically be murder. I pursed my lips. "Qinglong, are you yourself able to descend as well?" I could almost hear him think. "Not until I have a divine Domain. You must assign that to me yourself, something in which I''d have absolute control over." I thought for a moment, before coming up with the perfect idea. "How about you become something similar to the Heavenly Laws?" I saw him tilt his head in slight confusion. "Control over tribulations and cultivation limitations. I would also hand over full control over the Sons of Heaven sub-system." Qinglong looked thoughtful before nodding. "Yes, Kuan Yin. I would be honoured to server as the Heavenly Laws." I smiled as the Qi around us rippled from the confirmation. I turned to the menu, my finger hovering over the possession key for a brief moment as I spoke. "Protect me until I''m able to protect myself. You can do that for me, right?" Qinglong hummed in response. I felt great anxiety as I tapped the key resolutely.
Lightning struck from the sky in great, calamitous bolts of energy. The entire Jade Lotus Sect seemed to be in Chaos, countless cultivators rushing to and fro as they secured formations and acted as guards. Sneaking down from the heavens amongst the powerful strikes of energy was Qinglong; his azure form hidden by the lightning. His size greatly dwindled until he resembled a common blue snake. Slithering through the window of the room and towards the cradle of a child, he curled into a spiral around the hand of a baby Ming Yun. In front of her face opened a black panel with dragons made from white mist dancing along its edges. Ming Yun''s body trembled as the soul of another snuck its way in; she shook for several moments, convulsing, as Kuan Yin devoured her soul -- and with it, her talent and spirit root.
Welcome, Ming Yun.
The Heavenly Laws have chosen you as the owner of the Divine Cultivation System!
That wasn''t exactly what I had expected to see as I opened my eyes for the first time, my small and chubby baby hands uselessly wiggling about. I suppose I couldn''t complain though. I squeezed around Qinglong, who had curled up in my left hand. It gave me comfort knowing he was here. Though I hadn''t known he was able to manipulate his size at will, I guess I just hadn''t thought about that. A massive dragon a dozen meters in diameter and hundreds more in length would likely... not be received well by the Jade Lotus Sect. I blinked at the ceiling. It was dark. I''m hungry. Being a baby wasn''t very interesting. I opened my mouth and tested my vocal cords, letting out an unholy scream. I smiled and giggled. Maybe this would be interesting. I tilted my head to look at the sect members who''d entered my room, noticing Qinglong tense in preparation. They cooed at me and asked me gently to hush, offering me a small vial of milk in return. I yawned and drank. They left the room, and once more I was bored. I decided to check out my new system, seeing that I wasn''t able to open most other menus that I would be able to as a Keeper.

Regional Rankings Identify Technique Gacha
I tried to open a gacha, but frowned after noticing I had no gacha tickets. I wasn''t really sure how to get those, but I decided it could probably wait until I was at least able to talk to Qinglong again. The regional rankings were as expected. Mei Lei was in first place, and the other two named I didn''t recognize. The rest of the list likely belonged entirely to Jade Lotus Sect Members, but their names were obscured. I stretched lightly. Was there literally anything to do? I shivered as I felt Qinglong begin crawling up my arm. I looked curiously at him as his head poked out from under the blanket I had been covered by. "Gain control over your Qi, Kua..." Qinglong paused for a second before continuing. "Ming Yun. Your realm will begin naturally progressing to where you left off after you''ve gotten ahold of it." I let out a babble I hope he''d realized meant that I understood the message. With very little effort, I cleared my baby head of distractions and looked inwards. I''m not sure if it was just a coincidence or a skill issue, but the Qi was much easier to grab than the first time I had attempted it. I guided it along my meridians as I began my first circulation in this body, this time attuning it to the Ying chakra in the environment immediately. I would be slowed down by having to keep a fairly accurate equilibrium between the two. But, I really did have all the time in the world at the moment. I began breathing in the Qi, allowing it to pass into my pores. This process definitely felt easier. I felt like crying. I was doing this hundreds of times faster than I had been before! Talent was such a cheat! Ch8: This Guy is Really Annoying! The Jade Lotus Sect compound was expansive. I hadn''t realized it looking from above, but it was easily the size of several large mansions from earth. I let a frown form on my face as I crawled around on my chubby baby legs. "Qin-la." I attempted to speak, the familiar blue snake coming to attention as he slithered around in front of me. The dirt on the ground was rather irritating to me skin, small pebbles and rocks digging into me. I babbled for a few seconds, unintelligible to anyone but myself. "Bwa bwabwa bwa bwa bwa bwabwabwa!" Qinglong had a sage look on his face. "Yes, Ming Yun. You''re so smart. I never thought of it that way." I sighed and slapped the snakes face, smiling triumphantly as he flew several meters to the side. I hadn''t checked my status page in a few months at this point. With a mental command, I brought it up.
Ming Yun (Kuan Yin) Mortal Rebirthing, Third Ascension (Qi Infusement, Body Reconstruction) Jade Body Scripture (Sun and Moon Celestial Body)
Regional Rankings Identify Technique Gacha
I continued crawling forward. I had advanced again, that was good. Jade Body Scripture was the most advanced technique except my own that I had seen so far. Again, it had been developed by Mei Lei. That woman was a genius. She''d apparently studied nearly twenty different techniques before its creation -- a decent portion of the total I''d bought. I wondered briefly about the amount of land they had to control for that. "Ming Yun! Ming Yun! Where are you!?" I heard desperate shouting in the distance, before deciding I should probably crawl faster. With the energy of a thousand suns I pushed forward. Through dirt, grass, and shrubbery -- today I would see the outside of this compound! A shadow loomed over my being as my blood ran cold. Qinglong slithered across my forearm with a quiet sigh I''m sure only I heard. "Ming Yun." Mei Lei spoke calmly as she grabbed me from the ground, turning me to face her. "For a child so talented, you are even more difficult to control." She patted the dirt off me before we turned together and headed back to the living quarters. I grumbled what I hope she understood as a curse in my baby language.
In the past three years, there were several things I had noticed. Firstly, the Jade Lotus Sect was annoyingly good at keeping tabs on me. Secondly, Ming Yun''s body -- that I had only technically stolen, really it was mine from the start anyway -- was growing older to look exactly like the body I had constructed in the admin room. Lastly, talent was truly such a ridiculously stupid kind of cheat. The Qi density in the Jade Lotus sect was no more than a fifteenth of the admin room, and yet I was already nearing the peak of the fifth ascension. That''s not even mentioning the inferior cultivation technique. Right now, however, was a time far too important to waste on these meaningless reflections. A large portion of the Sect was out busy doing something, and most importantly, Mei Lei was out doing something. For the first time in years, I could finally return to the admin room. If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
My eyes darkened for a brief moment before the light returned. In front of me was an ethereal garden with a gazebo standing front and center. Power surged into me as my cultivation was temporarily restored. I let a breath of relief leave me before noticing several things all at once. First, I had a shit ton of notifications. Second, I was no longer in Ming Yun''s body. Panic surged through me. "Qinglong! Why am I no longer in Ming Yun''s body?" I nearly screamed this as I spun towards the floating body of the dragon, now returned to his full size. "Because, Kuan Yin. You are not Ming Yun." He lazily flicked his clawed dragon hand out, the globe floating to it as he brought it between us. It spun briefly to show me the exact scene I had just left. Ming Yun''s body was laying still on the floor, though still breathing. Relief washed over me. At least she was safe. "That''s good," I turned my focus to the notifications.
Congratulations! You have earned a new achievement! For learning one of the techniques from your world, you earned the Copycat achievement. +10 points.

...
I''d earned several achievements, netting me a total of 125 points. The chat requests, on the other hand, I didn''t particularly want to bother with. I only accepted Sun Wukong''s. He had been the first person to send a chat request and likely knew what all the attention was about. I hadn''t even thought about there being other Keeper''s, but, it did make sense for there to be others. I read the first message he''d sent just after I''d gone down to the world as Ming Yun.
Sun Wukong: Hey, Jade Beauty, you''ve gone offline again! What''s happening? Sun Wukong has sent a visitation request. Sun Wukong has sent a visitation request. Sun Wukong has sent a visitation request. Sun Wukong: Jade Beauty, where are you!?
I groaned. Who the hell was jade beauty? I responded to inform him of the fact he mistook me for someone else.
Jade Beauty: Sorry, Sun Wukong. You have the wrong person. I am Kuan Yin.
I turned to Qinglong with a fierce look in my eye. "Why is my name Jade Beauty?" I let the words sit like daggers at his throat as I waited for an answer. "The first Keeper of this universe chose that as their name, so every Keeper -- here at least -- since has been stuck with it." He lazily floated around, his tail flicked as he floated under a tree and bit an apple hanging from a low branch. I frowned. "Is there any way to change it?" Qinglong didn''t respond. For what felt like the millionth time today, I groaned in frustration. Why the hell did my name have to be Jade Beauty? I turned back to the message request, startled. Sun Wukong had already responded.
Sun Wukong: Damn! So there''s been a change in the Keeper! Sun Wukong: Are you a woman? Sun Wukong: I bet you''re even more attractive than the last Keeper! Sun Wukong: Hey! Jade Beauty! Where did you go?
For a moment, I debated not responding. I turned to glance at QInglong. No, responding would be a good idea. Getting any information was better than nothing, and QInglong wasn''t really at liberty to tell me more than I already knew. Ch9: Sun Wukong has sent a visitation request! I shared a long look with Qinglong before replying to Sun Wukong. This guy... I don''t think he''s right in the head!
Jade Beauty: Ah, I''m sorry Sun Wukong. I wasn''t aware that I was Jade Beauty. I don''t see the need to mention whether or not I am a woman... Sun Wukong: So you are! That''s great! Sun Wukong has sent a visitation request. Sun Wukong: Hey, Jade Beauty, let me come over. There''s a lot of stuff you need to know, you know? No other reason. Sun Wukong has sent a visitation request.
He definitely has mental issues! This guy is crazy! I sighed in exasperation as I looked to Qinglong. "Can''t he just tell me over the chat system?" QInglong let out a booming laugh. "Of course he can, but that Sun Wukong is definitely not a normal guy. I wouldn''t accept his visitation request if I were you." I nodded. That much was pretty obvious.
Jade Beauty: Sorry Sun Wukong but you definitely can''t come over. My system companion advised against it. Tell me what I need to know here! Thank you. Sun Wukong: Damn those companions, always blocking me like this... The new beauties are so hard to get in touch with!! Sun Wukong: Alright, listen up! What world type did you pick?
"Qinglong, there''s no harm in answering this right?" This guy was a bit of a psycho. I didn''t want to tell him anything more than necessary. He let out a hum as he thought for a few seconds. "No, there''s no danger in doing so. Not directly, at least." I gave him a sharp look. "Not directly? Qinglong, can you tell me why it might be indirectly a bad idea?" His massive head shook in refusal. I sighed and turned back to this Sun Wukong guy. I really didn''t want to owe him favours.
Jade Beauty: My system companion isn''t able to tell me why it''s a bad idea to tell you, just that it''s not. If you tell me why, maybe I will share that information with you too! Sun Wukong: Don''t listen to that old system fart. Trust this grandaddy, I would never harm a Jade Beauty! Sun Wukong has sent a visitation request. Jade Beauty: Sorry, Sun Wukong! I still cannot accept your request to visit. Sun Wukong: Worth a try. Anyway, the type of world you chose matters a lot. But there''s a pretty universal tip; you must stay involved with your creation. Whether you choose to do it as a key figure or as a god, it doesn''t matter, just stay involved! Sun Wukong: Unless you chose a cultivation-type world. Definitely don''t go down there until you''ve reached the pinnacle! Sun Wukong: Hey, Jade Beauty, why aren''t you responding? Did you choose a cultivation-type world? You definitely didn''t go down there right? Sun Wukong has sent a visitation request. Sun Wukong: Hey, Jade Beauty!! I''m really worried!
Maybe just ignoring this guy was the right idea. He was really, seriously getting annoying! I felt a headache coming already. "Qinglong, I can also be a god? I thought that only system companions were allowed to be that." Well, to be fair, I hadn''t even really considered it before. However he''d only mentioned electing himself as a god; not me. I ignored the constant notifications from Sun Wukong as Qinglong spoke. "Of course, Kuan Yin." I thought for a few moments before bringing up the pantheon menu.
Divine Pantheon
God of the Eastern Winds, Qinglong ... ... ... ...
I did have four remaining slots. My plan had been to recreate the four divine beasts and give them control over a direction. With the four major continents, it would''ve been a pretty solid plan. However now, with that extra slot, I had an idea. If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. Heavenly Laws, Kuan Yin Obviously, I wasn''t truly the Heavenly Laws; I''d already given those permissions to Qinglong. However, taking the title was probably a pretty good idea. If the world saw each of the four gods I''d planned to create as divine beasts who cultivated, then the Heavenly Laws surely stood above them right? I nodded sagely. Yes, of course. I was truly a genius! I giggled as I flexed my cultivator persona, before turning back to the chat with Sun Wukong.
Jade Beauty: Hey, Sun Wukong, I really am okay. I just made myself a god within my divine pantheon menu. Sun Wukong: Hey Jade Beauty, you really should stop ghosting me like all the other ladies! We really have some chemistry, you know? Jade Beauty: ... Jade Beauty: Is there anything else I should know? Sun Wukong: Hmm... You could always inspire the mortals. Theories, techniques, stuff like that. Bless them with divine treasures! Immortal inheritances! Jade Beauty: Oh, that''s a good idea. I hadn''t thought of creating inheritances. Sun Wukong: Aha! I, the greatest under the system, have discovered your world type is most definitely cultivation! Jade Beauty, please cultivate to the pinnacle before descending!
I frowned, turning to Qinglong again. Today really felt like a day for revelations. "Are all the Keepers enemies?" Qinglong spun around in the air as he pondered my question. "No, not all Keepers are enemies." He hesitated before continuing. "In a way, they have the same kind of relationship two nations of equal power would." I gestured for him to continue. "They both need all the friends they can get to rival the other nation. At the same time, they know that they can''t fight, at least not fully." I nodded. So it was like that, then? "But," I spoke, "We will fight. Eventually." Qinglong sighed, and I guessed his answer before he even spoke it. He couldn''t answer that question yet. I decided turning back to Sun Wukong would hopefully reveal at least something of importance; Qinglong was too heavily restricted by the system.
Jade Beauty: Hey, Sun Wukong. Do the Keepers fight each other? Sun Wukong: Oh, wow. I''m guessing your planet is still a tier zero if you have to ask me that question. Probably a Wuxia world, right? Or maybe custom. Sun Wukong: Nah, a newbie wouldn''t go for custom. Probably. Anyway, I forgot to answer your question. Yes. When your planet hits tier three, you''ll be forced into the Keeper Conflicts. Jade Beauty: What are the Keeper Conflicts? Sun Wukong has sent a visitation request. Sun Wukong: The Keeper conflicts are a small-scale invasion from your universe, or defense on your universe, to or by another Keeper. Basically, you either send an army to another Keepers planet, or they send one to you. Jade Beauty: Hey, don''t skip past the fact you just tried to get me to accidentally accept your visitation request! Sun Wukong: Whoever has the foreign invader''s has to kill them all. Of course, you could just keep one alive for as long as possible and hope it lets you avoid the next few invasions. But most people who seriously try to invade you definitely wouldn''t allow that. Jade Beauty: ... Thank you, Sun Wukong. Sun Wukong has sent a visitation request. Sun Wukong: No problem, Jade Beauty! Sun Wukong: Hey, do you want to join my Keeper clan? it''s filled with other people who have cultivation wor-
With a slam, I closed the chat. What was wrong with that guy!? I swear to god if he sends one more visitation request, I will kill him myself after I hit tier three. I opened several menus before I finally found the details of my world.
Wuxia World World Name [??] World Tier 0
Keeper Name: Jade Beauty Worlds Owned: 1 Pantheons Created: 1
World Details A devastating, world ending catastrophe struck World Name which wiped out the previous civilizations. Only the remnants of their buildings, techniques, and vast power remain. A broken and recovering civilization of humans have begin to build back up and try to uncover the truth of the past. With a pantheon of only two gods, vastly incomplete, they seek to find the other divines that must exist. Are they dead? Had the disaster been so terrible as to collapse the heavens? They don''t know. What comes after death is uncertain, and a veritable mystery. Souls exist, but for how long? They dissipate fast on the mortal plane. With no one to collect them, and no place for them to go, they are extinguished into the void.
"Hey, Qinglong?" I queried. "Yes, Kuan Yin?" His voice, deep and rumbling, made me turn away from my world details. "How do I create an afterlife?" For the first time a while, Qinglong smiled. "I''ve been waiting for you to ask something like that. Allow me to introduce you to the Keepernet''s finest asset; the Shop." My eye twitched. "What kind of name is Keepernet?" For a dragon, he shrugged surprisingly human-like. "Ask the idiot who came up with it." I sighed. It seems like I had a lot of idiots to go around and find, though after taking a peek at Sun Wukong''s chatlogs again, they seemed to find me just fine.
Sun Wukong has sent a visitation request. Sun Wukong has sent a visitation request. Sun Wukong has sent a visitation request. Sun Wukong has sent a visitation request. Sun Wukong: Jade Beauty, please let me see your face! I know you are the prettiest maiden in all the worlds! Let me visit!!
Ch10: So, after becoming God, Ive discovered what comes after Death! Before opening the Shop, I decided that perhaps I should give my world a name -- It had been something to consider even before now, but I had just thought my inhabitants would be the ones to name the world. I hesitated as I tried to come up with a good name. I didn''t want to name it after a sect; after all, any sect was likely temporary. I didn''t want to name it after a person, either. No good god has favourites! I faced Qinglong. "I need a name." "Kuan Yin, you may think of me as all-knowing, but I am not. A name for what?" I sighed; this should be obvious. "For my world. It''s literally titled by the system as World Name right now." Qinglong grunted, surprised. "You haven''t changed it already?" I frowned. "You never told me about this. I didn''t know." Opting out of the conversation, I watched as Qinglong avoided blame by floating through the void away from me. That wasn''t very helpful. I hummed in thought. My very rough knowledge of chinese was... only slightly helpful. Divine World? Holy World? Both of them were too similar in chinese to really tell the difference, and neither ended up as a single word. Hmm.. Holy Domain, maybe? Something in regards to location... Ah! Shengdi; holy place! I submitted the name. It was perfect, with absolutely no room for improvement! A genius such as I can be said to be unparalleled under the heavens! I let a laugh out. Pretending to be a pompous cultivator was really addicting! "Qinglong!" I shouted into the aether, before sighing. That dragon really just ditched me! I turned to the shop, checking out the categories. There were... a really absurd number to sort through. I stopped scrolling the categories page after about 400 results. There was anything you could think of, and then twice that in stuff you would never think of. I searched for afterlives. Surprisingly, this was a rather sparse category. One was the traditional Heaven and Hell cycle, that the christians on earth thought of. There was a simple cycle of rebirthing the soul which seemed rather crude; simply grabbing the nearest available soul and shoving it in the nearest available infant. I guessed that eventually that wouldn''t work, so I scrolled past it. Another was similar to the greek or roman gods, where the underworld exists to harvest all the souls after death. There was also a rather interesting one in which a reaper would come to slay people, or collect their souls -- and eat them! What kind of savage came up with that one? I hummed as I continued searching. There was really... Nothing good here! I heard a rumble behind me, feeling my heart jump. "If you don''t like anything on the list, you can create your own. Though you would still have to purchase it. If you publish it, you get a small percent of the profit for any future purchases by another Keeper." "You... where did you come from?" I asked. "Nevermind! You scared me!" I shouted. This novel is published on a different platform. Support the original author by finding the official source. "Apologies, Kuan Yin." Qinglongs voice rumbled. This guy really didn''t know how to lower his voice. It felt like the entire admin room shook with every word. "How do I create a new afterlife system?" I asked, clicking through a few options on the system panel. "It''s similar the feature you used to generate structures across your planet." I nodded; that seemed fairly intuitive. Qinglongs clawed hands brought up a panel.
Afterlife System Designer
Input any core aspects or ideas you believe to be necessary for the functioning of your afterlife system.
I wasn''t sure if they did already exist, but there were two systems I wanted to craft. The first was the Naihe Bridge with Old Lady Meng.
Afterlife System Designer
Input any core aspects or ideas you believe to be necessary for the functioning of your afterlife system. Souls are brought on a journey after dying, their souls soaking into the ground and sinking through the realm into Diyu. On their journey, they are guided by Old Lady Meng Po. First they visit the Home-viewing pavilion, where they view their family members or loved people. If their family members or loved individuals grieve them, they go straight to the Naihe Bridge. If their family members do not grieve them, they are subjected to the Three Tortures! If they do not have any family or loved ones to judge their life by, they will be forced to spin the wheel of fate to decide their next life. The wheel of fate determines species, memory, talent, and many other fortuitous or damning things. The greater the positive karma, the greater the luck! The greater the negative karma, the worse the luck! The Naihe Bridge is where Old Lady Meng Po arrives with the soul of the dead to serve them a bowl of Meng Po soup. When drinking the soup, their memories are entirely erased and they''re sent to go ahead onto their next life.
With a satisfied nod, I submitted it. I was gifted with the grace of a buffering symbol as the system processed my prompt. With a glance, I checked down onto the world below; Ming Yun''s body was still lying still, unbothered and unseen. I was slightly surprised. By now, it had likely been at least a few hours on the planet. Where was everyone? My reverie was cut short as a new menu popped up.
Diyu
A brief description of the afterlife that will be visible on the store page. Meng Po waits to serve the dead. The souls who accumulate wretched karma suffer! The souls who accumulate positive karma thrive!
This afterlife system will cost 120 points to purchase. As the creator, should any other Keeper purchase this from the shop, you will earn 12 points. Would you like to purchase this afterlife? Would you like to publish this afterlife to the Keepernet?
One hundred and twenty points! By far the most expensive thing I have seen! Most afterlives were only a few dozen points at most; the highest price I had found before was just 50. Did the others truly put so little thought into their afterlife? Or, had I done too much? I frowned. What if buying this was a mistake? Was the abnormally high price a sign of a faulty afterlife..? "Qinglong..." I hesitated, trying to find the words to say. "The system does not make mistakes, Kuan Yin." I turned to him, waiting for him to continue. "If it created the afterlife, and judged its price to be worth 120 points, then it is the best available on the market at the moment. I have no doubt more expensive ones will appear soon after. Perhaps the other Keepers had not considered the afterlife to be worth much thought." I sighed. I would have just five points after buying this, but it would be worth it. After all what really was a cultivation world without reincarnation? With my resolve founded, I pressed the button. Purchase! Yes, I really would like to purchase this! Ch11: I, Xu Ming, vow to become unparalleled under the heavens! Xu Ming stared blankly at Tsu Shi. This guy, he was too old to be acting like this... In front of her stood a man with sparsely grayed hair. Sat in a pathetic excuse for a meditative pose, his eyes were clenched tight as his entire body shook. If she didn''t know any better, Xu Ming would have thought he was having a stroke! "Ah, Tsu Shi, you old man. What are you doing?" Her voice broke the silence of the dark, damp cave as it echoed. "Hush up, old hag. I''m having an epiphany." His voice was grizzled. He sounded like a man who had been through immense conflict. "Oh, what epiphany?" She scowled. "You have ten minutes before we begin the final strike on the Crimson Gate Sect! What could possibly be so enlightening?" Both Xu Ming and Tsu Shi were at the peak of Qi Infusement, at the very edge of surpassing Soul Reconstruction. They were at the peak of this world! Within the entirety of the Tiantian continent, they were at the top. Their lives were tied together with their shared karma toward the Crimson Gate Sect. If they wanted to advance, that sect would have to be utterly destroyed. Tsu Shi sighed as he stood up. "Xu Ming''er, I was about to break through! Ah, whatever. It''s gone now. Let''s go!" He spun around and headed towards the cave''s exit. Xu Ming could only roll her eyes; this guy, he tried too hard to be better than her. She could only follow him as he pompously ran off. Her husband was just a little bit crazy, but that''s okay. She looked down at the sharp stone sword that was held by her waist. This blade had followed her from the start, and she would use it to sever the inheritance of that Sect. That damned sect! With a huff, she ran after Tsu Shi. "Wait up, old man. This young beauty shouldn''t have to exert herself to catch up!" Raucous laughter rang out from the two as they dashed forward. Outwardly, they were exuberant. But they knew the truth! Today, they would either die or succeed and become the true pinnacle within the Tiantian continent! She looked to Tsu Shi, and spoke confidently as they raced out of the cave and into the surrounding forest. "I, Xu Ming, vow to become unparalleled!" Tsu Shi responded in kind, his voice not faltering. "I, Tsu Shi, vow to become unparalleled!" Within three days of travel, they would arrive. She could only hope they were really prepared for this fight.
After purchasing the Diyu, the world shook. Watching from the admin room, I could see every small change. And there were a lot of them. First and foremost, the ambient Gu -- death oriented Qi -- had decreased by almost 60% within the first few hours. Several sects across the world were panicking. Those guys were definitely demonic cultivators. I didn''t know that was a thing yet! I turned to Qinglong after confirmed Ming Yun''s body was still undisturbed and unseen. "Qinglong, how many people on the planet have a system?" He thought for a moment, his eyes glazing as he likely looked through various menus. "Seventeen have currently been chosen to be the host to a system. Currently, they don''t really have any true power to them aside from quantifying strength." I hummed. Suddenly, a notification came in. Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on the original website.

Ah? The Diyu afterlife was already selling? I was slightly surprised. I hadn''t thought it would sell so quickly. Another notification brought me out of my thoughts.
Sun Wukong: Hey, Jade Beauty, have you seen this item on the marketplace yet? Sun Wukong has sent an item in chat. [Diyu -- Afterlife] Sun Wukong: I know you have a cultivation world, this would be perfect for it! I just bought it and it''s awesome!
It was this guy who bought it? Why did it have to be him? I groaned. This guy, he was really annoying. How did he even find it that fast?
Jade Beauty: Oh, hello Sun Wukong. I actually created that item. Thank you for the purchase. I''m currently lacking in points. Sun Wukong: ... Sun Wukong: This afterlife, what I really meant, is it''s acceptable! Good job on creating it. Maybe I will use it. Jade Beauty: ... Okay Sun Wukong: I have already promoted it into my clan before knowing it was you who created it. Damn! I should have made you join before advertising it! Sun Wukong: Actually, I just mean that ... you should join my clan! It would be a great idea! Plus, I advertised your product and ...
I stopped reading after that, watching several dozens of points pour in. From 17 points, I instantly rose to over one hundred! So fast! What was with the amount of people purchasing this?

... There were so many notifications! I was rich! Absolutely, undeniably, extremely rich!
Tsu Shi and Xu Ming arrived! They were at the base of the Leaping Carp Mountain. At the top was the Crimson Gate Sect! Before them laid a sprawling village of non-cultivators. This... Xu Ming had never heard of them having a city down here. She looked to Tsu Shi as they approached slowly. "Tsu Shi," she began. "No, Xu Ming. This village... it wasn''t here when I left!" They had a grave look on their face. Sects tended to be built around villages and cities; it was never the other way around. What was this sect up to? Suddenly, it all became clear as they approached. A villager looked at them. He, who was a mortal in every regard, dared to yell out their approach! "Hail the Crimson Gate Sect! There are cultivators approaching Zhao Village!" A dark look appeared on their faces as they watched the people in the village scurry. Suddenly they spotted a fifth ascension brat who dared to try and run up to the top of the mountain and gather the Crimson Gate cultivators! Tsu Shi rushed forward! The non-cultivator who dared to call them out lost his head as Tsu Shi rushed past, his speed inhuman! A peak Qi Infusement cultivator, how could he not catch up to a fifth ascension? A sword pierced the cultivators heart. Tsu Shi relaxed, and so did Xu Ming. From opposite sides of the village, their eyes met. They seemed to communicate one sentence telepathically. "What the f*ck do we do with the villagers?" Ch12: King Midas seems poor today! Seeing the success of my first afterlife I had created, I immediately got to work on the creation of my second afterlife system. The Karmic Waterwheel! Of course, it was basically a plagiarized version of the Samsara reincarnation wheel. If I do say so myself, it turned out pretty good! I published it to the shop, the price set at around 75 points. Instantly, more purchases began to flood in! Three... four... six.. Ten! My wealth was growing exponentially! I had just over 200 points now! I felt my mouth drop open. "Qinglong, surely it''s not normal to get so many purchases so quickly, right?" He hesitated before answering. "There''s a couple reasons why you''re getting so many. First, the price -- the system has rated these two afterlives as the best on the market. Of course, people will buy them. Secondly, the Keepernet is large -- several trillions of universes exist. Of course, people are always going to be buying things. It was a good idea to create items on the shop." My eyebrows rose. "Several trillion?" I frowned. This was going to be too easy. I would just rip off every idea from earth! I don''t think they''d mind. I let my fingers fly as I typed on the keyboard, entering every possible idea I could remember. Devil Fruit [Power System] - 385 points! Haki [Power System] - 400 points! Quirks [Power System] - 380 points! Nen [Power System] - 250 points! Chakra [Power System] - 415 points! ... I uploaded nearly thirteen different power systems before I checked the notifications that had been ringing out constantly, before frowning. What the hell! Every single power system except Devil Fruits, Haki, and Chakra had been rejected since they had already been uploaded by someone else. What a scam! I sighed. Whatever, they were the most valuable ones I had created anyway. I watched gleefully as some points began to trickle in. Two hundred and forty points. Two-eighty! Three-twenty! Man, Midas must be jealous. I yawned and stretched, before freezing. Fuck! I really needed to get back down to the planet. By this point, nearly two weeks had passed! In a panic, I grabbed the globe and checked Ming Yun''s body. There was someone just minutes away from finding her! Fuck! I clicked possess on her as fast as I could.
Zhiyue Xi was a totally average cultivator within the Jade Lotus Sect. She had no real talent that put her above anyone else, nor was her comprehension particularly high. However, the one area she did excel in was her fairly impressive ability to mind her own damn business. Not many cultivators had this trait, hell, even the non-cultivators struggled with it! Always eavesdropping, always butting in. Zhiyue hated it. So, while on her daily walk exploring her sect compound -- which by the way, her sect was in the middle of a war, just not one she could participate in -- she decided to open a rather dusty door. The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation. It looked like it had been around a month or so before it had been opened. Perhaps the was some kind of secret inheritance in there? Maybe, it was in the main compound. Didn''t sect leader Mei Lei have her personal room around here somewhere? She paused, her grip stubborn on the doors handle. Hmm. What if this was the sect leader''s personal dormitory? She wouldn''t know. What if she had some kind of formation or something to tell her? Hmm. Zhiyue, a totally normal cultivator, was quite curious what was behind this door. She could feel a fairly decent source of Qi behind it. Hmm... She slid the door open slowly, and peeked inside. For a moment, she was quite disappointed. It was a normal storage closet! How boring! Then, after completely sliding the door open with her confidence elevated that this wasn''t some grand figures room, she stopped. Her mouth hung open! Ming Yun, the little genius, was taking a nap right there on the floor! There was a puddle of drool hanging out of her mouth! What the f*ck? Suddenly, like a horror movie, Ming Yun''s eyes snapped open and her face grew stern. What the f*ck! Zhiyue Xi slammed the door of the storage closet shut. She pretended not to hear the child''s angry ramblings as she ran away at full speed. She saw nothing! Absolutely nothing! But... so what if the little genius had weird sleeping habits..? Everyone did things a little bit odd. Hmm. Zhiyue Xi, for the first time as a totally normal cultivator, began to wonder why all the talented people were so peculiar. Perhaps they had some kind of mental disability? She paused her stride as she saw a peculiar blue snake squiggle past her. Hey, doesn''t that little snake look kind of like that Eastern Wind dragon from that one myth? Hmm... Nope. Must be a coincidence. Maybe it''s an invasive species or something? She thought about following the snake to stamp it. As a totally average cultivator, she wasn''t particularly superstitious. However, in a world like this, you could never be sure! Though, as a totally normal cultivator, she wouldn''t have the fortune of coming across a figure like that one dragon from the myths. Suddenly, a black and white panel came across her vision. What the f*ck was going on today!?
I felt my heart chill as I stared into the light green eyes of a woman who was probably twice my body''s age. I was too late! I felt heat rush to my face as she slammed the door closed, scrambling to my feet as I heard her scurry away. "Hey! Wait!" I groaned as I looked down at where my body had been laying before. A puddle of drool was on the floor next to where my mouth had been. God damn it. I paused. Me damn it? I shrugged as I felt the embarrassment fade. Surely there wouldn''t be too many issues that came from that... I opened the door, looking down to see Qinglong already wiggling up my leg. I suppressed a shiver. This guy, he really could be a little bit of a creep. Couldn''t he just float up to my arm or something..? I gave a stretch as I yawned. This body had just slept for nearly a month and it was still sleepy? "Hey, check your system Ming Yun." The hot breath of Qinglong seemed to attack my neck. This dragon was... perhaps he was had some mental issues. Could system-created companions have those? I tilted my head slightly to look at him, and shrugged. Who knows. It''s a possibility. I opened my system, dumbfounded as I looked at a few notifications on the black and white screen. "Qinglong, when did you have the time to do this?" I queried. He didn''t bother to give a response, just slithering across my body and resting in my sleeve. If I concentrated, I could hear him snore. I sighed as I continued reading through panels. I really hated doing this. I''d just finished it for the Worldkeeper system, and now I have to deal with Ming Yun''s system too. Ch13: A little bit of everything; what could go wrong? The first thing I''d noticed as I read through the system panels was that Qinglong had decided to include system update notifications. It was a bit odd, but, how else would the people who''d been granted the systems know what was going on? Shrugging, I read through the notifications.

...
I sighed as I stopped reading. There were simply too many! I hobbled my way over to the side of the storage closet, in a way that even if the door was opened again I would not be seen. This body was quite weak right now. I frowned. Obviously. It hadn''t eaten in weeks. Though it had been passively cultivating, which was something I hadn''t expected. It had broken through several times.
Ming Yun (Kuan Yin) Mortal Rebirthing, Sixth Ascension (Qi Infusement, Body Reconstruction) Jade Body Scripture (Sun and Moon Celestial Body)
Regional Rankings Missions Technique Gacha
I clicked the technique gacha, watching as a small number in the top left that read 1 turned to 0. A giant spinning wheel appeared in front of my face. I tried to touch it. My hand just went straight through. I watched it come to a stop on the Divine Spear Dance manual! My jaw hung open as my head snapped to Qinglong. "Hey, Qinglong!" I whispered. "Yes, Ming Yun?" He had a sleazy smile on his stupid snake face as he poked his head from my sleeve. "Every system has this technique gacha, right?" "Yes, Ming Yun." He yawned, making my brain freeze for a moment. Snakes could yawn? Off topic! I circled back to what I had been thinking before. "So they can all get the techniques I own, like the Sun and Moon Celestial Body scripture and the Divine Spear Dance manual?" I brought my arm close to my face, as I stared directly into Qinglong''s eyes from my sleeve. He blinked at me. "Er, yes, Kuan Yin. The Technique Gacha uses all wuxia techniques the Keeper has purchased as rewards." I felt my eye twitch as I lowered my arm. "Qinglong, can you take over the role of Ming Yun for me, at least for a while?" A few seconds passed before he answered. "Yes, Kuan Yin, I can do that." I let a breath of relief out. I had a few things I wanted to do as a Keeper, and playing cultivator in Ming Yun''s body was not one of them. Though to be fair, I might do it later when she''s a top figure in the world. That might be fun. The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. I smiled at the thought, before my body collapsed onto the ground. Qinglongs snakelike figure vanished moments later before Ming Yun once again stood up, this time with an odd look on her face as she put out her hands. "Woah, I have actual hands now!" A servant who was passing by the storage closet froze, before silently opening the door and peering in. To the very left of her vision, she saw the little genius Ming Yun excitedly examining her body. Her robe and clothing was disembodied, laying on the floor next to the young cultivator. She snapped the door shut and ran away. These cultivators, they were so bizarre!
As soon as my eyes opened, I was greeted with dozens of notifications telling me about an increase in points. These other Keepers, they were quite the spendthrifts! I felt my jaw hang open as I watched it increase. Seven Hundred! Eight Hundred! Over the course of just a few hours, it had already reached one thousand points. Without hesitation, I purchased the devil fruit and haki power systems I had created. Now, I was left with just over three hundred points. But, the reason I purchased these items, it''s very smart! Believe that I, Kuan Yin, am an unparalleled genius. I opened up the Sons of Heavenly fate system menu and tied the power systems of devil fruits and Haki to them; At least, as far as the system said, that was just for this world. If I were to create another world, then I would not have any need to re-purchase them. In any matter, however, it would mean that Qinglong has control over these systems and can use them as rewards for the system gacha. I thought for a few moments, before changing focus and slightly editing the world generation. I remodeled spiritual plants to become devil fruit after a century of incubation. I, Kuan Yin, truly am a genius. With that, I opened up the Wuxia human and Human race panels. With a small cost of one hundred points each, I edited them both to acquire the Haki power system! This would make their bodies much stronger naturally, and allow for greater growth. This, combined with cultivation, seemed like it would be great. I looked back to my points, swiping away several notifications telling me about my shop items being purchased. I was at two hundred still. I sighed. I truly was suffering from success. With a thought, I checked the system for Sea Kings -- and unfortunately, found no results! I brought my hand to my chin as I began to think. Hmm... Creating things for the system truly required no loss on my part, but in such a massively oversaturated market, they were not guaranteed to be purchased. It might end up being a waste of time. Hmm... No! Don''t think like that. I, as a heaven-defying genius, will become the number one seller on this Keepernet. Instantly I opened up the race creation panel, and swiftly modeled one after the Sea Kings from One Piece. Their race price was set for three hundred! How absurd! But, with the massive influx of points constantly coming from my other items, I decided to publish it. Within the next four hours, I had enough to buy the race. And so, I did. I modified the sea creatures who could currently cultivate; eventually, after reaching the equivalence of Qi Infusion, they would mutate and become powerful, beastly Sea Kings. With a final confirmation, I saved the world. These would all take a very, very long time to take place. I manifested a bucket of extremely buttery popcorn as I watched the world from above, a little television appearing with Ming Yun centered in front. On her neck was a blue snake the size of a boa constrictor. How impressive! Several years had once more passed on the world. Now, Qinglong -- in my place as Ming Yun -- commanded the full power of a Qi Infusement realm cultivator. Mei Lei had been slain in the sect war, and she was being groomed to become the next sect leader. This story, it was becoming quite interesting. I felt a smile grow on my face as I saw Ming Yun''s arm grow a hazy black coating over them as she punched forward, practicing the Jade Fist Sutra. "Maybe I''ll let Qinglong live out Ming Yun''s life. This seems like quite the enjoyable story." My smile widened further. Yes! Why would I need to create a seperate world for all my favourite genres? F*ck it! This world, it will become my test world. Here I will smash everything together and see how it turns out! I can always create another world if this one fails miserably. I checked my points again. Already it had resurged to nearly three hundred. I summoned a comfortable sofa and leaned back on it. Life was really great right now. Truly, I was a genius. I locked my eyes on Ming Yun''s figure, watching her train. Ch14: Hey, maybe this might have been a bad idea? The first inkling I had that something was going wrong was when Ming Yun had turned nineteen; on her very birthday, she''d ventured out of the sect at the peak of Soul Reconstruction. The war between her sect -- The Jade Lotus Sect -- and the sect which had declared war on them was still ongoing. It''s not that the Jade Lotus Sect was weak, it was rather the opposite, but the other sect was too numerous! They were like cockroaches! Watching the life of Ming Yun unfold, as a viewer, I was quite frustrated. These snot nosed Divine Asura cultivators think they are so tough? I opened up my system panel.

Realm: Body Refinement, First Realm
Please, if you know how to combine these two tables into one on RR''s writing content thing... Tell me! It looks so odd as two seperate tables! As a body refinement cultivator, even at the first realm, I could utterly suppress their entire sect! Divine Asura? How presumptuous. I sighed as for the first time in nearly four months, I clicked off the television that enabled me to see Ming Yun''s life. She had mastered armament haki to a decent degree, and had trained the rest of her sect in it as well. That was one of the issues with the Jade Lotus Sect. It was too quality focused. In a Wuxia world, perhaps that was not the best route. The Divine Asura sect was proving it by being annoying rats, constantly nipping at the Jade Lotus sects power. Ming Yun, or should I say Qinglong, really needed to be careful. A Soul Reformation cultivator can still fall to Qi Infusement cultivators if they have the advantage in numbers and surprise. I rubbed my temples as I was deep in thought. These Divine Asura cultivators, quite a few of them had Haki. Whether armament, observation, or conquerors -- they were a nuisance for sure. The biggest distinction was that the Divine Asura sect had come across a grove filled with spiritual plants. Of course, a large majority of them had not finished growing. But those that had? Unauthorized usage: this tale is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings. Several elders within the sect had devil fruits. They were all pretty low tier, but the advantage was undeniable. My concern wasn''t in the sect having too much power, but rather in the grove of spiritual plants. The stronger the devil fruit, the longer the gestation period until it matures. There were several plants within the grove that had barely even begun to grow roots from their seed. Several. I wasn''t sure what kind of devil fruit that made them, but I knew that the Divine Asura sect could not have them. So, like any immortal who lives in a garden, I made a spot for some plants. The apple tree, in specific, I made grow much larger. It would have to accomodate a vast majority of the devil fruits I considered too overwhelming for a wuxia world. Mostly, that would be Logia fruit and mythical zoans. Over the several months I had mostly been idly cultivating while watching Ming Yun''s story unfurl. However, there were still times I had made an effort to practice my techniques while I watched. In particular, the Divine Spear Dance Manual. Having stolen the talent from Ming Yun''s soul and melded it into my own, I had made great progress. I could be considered a top expert within the world. I checked the power rankings as nervousness fluttered through my body. I could descend in my body as a Keeper, however, that was a little bit beyond dangerous. The top three experts in the world were all in the middle stages of Body Tempering. Even if I knew my technique was stronger, my cultivation manual superior in every way, I was not so arrogant to claim I could beat them in a fair fight. So, with my accumulated total of three thousand points, I decided that it would not be a fair fight then.
Tsu Shi and Xu Ming felt a chill run down their spines. As the hidden ancestors of Tsu Ming City, that was never a good sign. With their impressive cultivation having extended their lives several times over, their instincts were honed. Body Refinement cultivators would almost never get false signals like this. They shared a look, before both went back to their closed door cultivation rooms. Something was coming!
I browsed the shop with a smile on my face. The glory of being rich, it really could not be underestimated. Top-tier robes from a Xianxia world, armed to the teeth with enchantments and defensive artifacts and spacial pockets, and it allows me to customize its look? Yes, that''ll do nicely! One thousand points spent! Heaven Piercing Spear of the Divine Spear God? Sounds great. One thousand points spent! A set of earrings made of black jade that were designed to boost the wearers cultivation speed? Absolutely! Two hundred points spent! Cloud-stepping Martial Technique Manual? Well, I''ve always wanted to fly. Absolutely purchase! Five hundred points spent! I looked at the last three hundred points in my reserves. I knew exactly what to spend them on. The system allowed me to ''reserve'' devil fruits for a cost; but, they were quite expensive and I could only reserve one with the system. The rest I would have to acquire myself. Without a single ounce of hesitation, I reserved the Nika Nika no Mi, model Sun God. It was simply impossible for that to exist within a Wuxia world. The power of imagination did not belong here, and I wouldn''t let it taint the worlds story. Having it appear in my hand first, I then transferred it to the giant apple tree I had created. I watched as the purple fruit morphed out from a crisp red one. I had a certain devil fruit in mind that better suit my needs; I wasn''t sure what to do with this one. For now, though, I just had to keep it safe and hidden. I felt a frown grow on my face. Weren''t there some other god fruits in One Piece or something? Oh well, not my concern. It should only have taken the fruits I knew of into consideration when I made the power system. Three hundred points, spent! Now, I was flat broke. I had no money, but at least I was well protected. I brought up the system menu again, staring at a button blankly. This was quite a risky move, but I really did not want such powerful devil fruits to fall into the hands of a Wuxia world. I sighed, frustrated. There was no option for me to edit, create, or remove fruits as I wanted. It was simply every fruit I had in memory, with more coming from the worlds myths. There was undoubtedly two Uo Uo no Mi, model Dragons. One from my memory, one from the myth of Qinglong. I would have to find them both most likely. Or perhaps it would only appear after Qinglongs death? This whole keeper thing was really complicated! I turned my thoughts off as I looked again to the button.
Are you sure you''d like to descend in your Keeper form? Yes // No
I would have to. Possessing someone would take a great deal of time to regain my current cultivation realm, and I couldn''t risk losing a fight between my soul and anothers. Currently, I also didn''t have a skill similar to the Shadow Clone technique from Naruto. But, I did have the Chakra system... No, this world was chaotic enough as is. I don''t need the moon to turn into some god, or some random guy to break the planet with a couple meteors. I frowned as I pressed yes. This was probably a really, really bad idea. Long Prophesized Rewrite Currently workshopping the entire novel and rewriting it from the ground up, with a more polished writing style. I don''t think chapter length will increase significantly, and the first few chapters will most likely be the longest just due to the incredible amount of System nonsense I have to go through. I''m changing Qinglong''s character entirely to make the novel just a bit more bearable, and Kuan Yin is experiencing a decently hefty workshopping as well. Aside from all of that, I have a more concrete vision on the actual world the characters are inhabiting, the direction I''m taking it in, and the pacing I want to use to achieve this. All that said, A Mortal''s Immortal Folley will be returning once all chapters have been sufficiently revamped! Sorry for the long wait everyone. Ch0 and Ch1 are polished and published, and available in place of where the previous Ch0 and Ch1 had been. Ch2 has been replaced by a notice that it is currently being workshopped, and each subsequent chapter will be taken down as the barrier between the old story and new story. One will subsume the other, as is the destiny of many things. I hope you all enjoy the direction this is now headed towards. Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site. The entire novel, previously, had been written during spare time in class. So it was short, disconnected, and random. Now that I have free time to dedicate to it having graduated and settled down after moving and getting all my personal things in order, I hope you''ll see the qualitative leap.
