《Ascension Through Ruin》 Episode 1: Light Within the Darkness "Captain, what should I do? We are the only ones left in our squad¡ How can we save this young man (The young man they were protecting was frozen in terror, trembling uncontrollably.) The city lay in ruins¡ªbuildings reduced to rubble, streets littered with corpses of civilians and fallen comrades alike. "Don¡¯t be afraid. Cast aside your fear," the Captain reassured him, a calm yet resolute smile on his face. "Even in the deepest darkness, there is always light. We just need to hold off these monsters a little longer." For a moment, the Lieutenant¡¯s despair subsided. But then¡ª As he gazed at his Captain¡¯s unwavering expression, the light of the setting sun illuminated a gruesome sight. A gaping hole was torn through the Captain¡¯s chest, likely from a devastating blow dealt by one of the monstrous creatures. "Captain¡ª!" The Lieutenant¡¯s anguished scream rang through the air. His face, once filled with a sliver of hope, crumbled into despair. The sky teemed with flying monstrosities. On the ground, countless creatures swarmed¡ªsome crawling, others standing at human height, some towering over houses, and the largest among them reaching heights that dwarfed even the tallest skyscrapers. As the sun dipped below the horizon, darkness swallowed the battlefield. The monsters inched closer. 100 meters¡ 80 meters¡ then¡ª With a terrifying lunge, they pounced¡ª Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings. But before they could strike, a blinding light erupted, engulfing the three of them. "Shield of Light!" A divine barrier, spanning 314 square meters and rising 20 meters high, formed around them. Any monster that dared to approach disintegrated upon contact with its radiant energy. Then, she appeared. One of the strongest heroes in existence¡ªEleanor Everett, S-Class Hero, the Strongest Hero in the Philippines, and wife of Egon Everett. In an instant, she teleported in front of them. "Prevailing Light!" A massive wave of energy surged outward, obliterating every monster within a 500-meter radius. The Lieutenant fell to his knees, sobbing like a child. Relief, gratitude, and exhaustion washed over him. Had they truly survived? Had he fulfilled his duty as a soldier? "Thank you¡ thank you!" he cried. "Madam, you are the true light in the darkness of our nation," he declared with pride. But Eleanor simply shook her head. "No. The true light of this nation lies within the hearts of its people¡ªthose who are willing to sacrifice for their loved ones, for their comrades, and above all, for their homeland." Her words carried an unshakable conviction, a deep respect for the fallen soldiers who had given everything for the fight. Then¡ª A voice rang from above. "Let us protect that light." A man stood atop a ruined high-rise, gripping the hilt of his sword. Egon Everett, S-Class Hero, the Strongest Hero in the Philippines, husband of Eleanor Everett. Both husband and wife bore the title of the strongest heroes in their country. And then¡ª The Captain, who had remained standing all this time despite his fatal wound, finally collapsed. "The hope we hold today¡ is because of you." The Lieutenant¡¯s voice trembled. As the Captain fell, a faint smile remained on his lifeless face. Whether it was a trick of the mind or a testament to his final act of defiance, no one could say. And now¡ª Two S-Class heroes against an army of monstrous abominations. Could they prevail? (The final scene shows the two heroes standing against an overwhelming horde, the massive silhouette of an enormous monster looming over them.) Episode 2: How Strong Are the Strongest? "One Hundred Slashes!" Egon Everett¡¯s first attack unleashed a flurry of devastating sword strikes, instantly slicing through the hordes of monstrous enemies. Their grotesque bodies shattered into pieces, unable to withstand the sheer force of his technique. But the Abyssal Monsters retaliated. (A scene of horrifying creatures launching a relentless assault¡ªsome breathing fire, others attacking with razor-sharp claws, fangs, wings, and deadly kicks lined with thorns.) Egon, however, dodged every attack effortlessly, his movements a blur of speed and precision. "Shadow Swordsman Step!" He vanished and reappeared between attacks, each step leaving only flickering afterimages in his wake. "Light that dispels the darkness, granting strength to all who stand in its glow¡ªEnhancing Light!" Eleanor Everett¡¯s voice rang out like a divine hymn. As her enchantment activated, Egon felt a surge of overwhelming power coursing through him. His stats skyrocketed: A grin formed on Egon¡¯s lips. "Thousand Strikes." His blade flashed. The air trembled. Dozens of monsters were obliterated in an instant¡ªincluding the formidable B-Class abominations. "Serious Piercing." His relentless assault continued, tearing through the Pseudo-A-Class monsters with pinpoint precision. Only five A-Class monsters remained, along with a single colossal S-Class being¡ªan Abyssal Dragonic Stage Disaster. The air grew thick with ominous energy. "Of all the pathetic humans we''ve faced, these two... they feel different," one of the monsters growled, electricity arcing through his body. "Kilt, don¡¯t tell me the strongest among us is actually afraid?" another sneered, eyes gleaming with mockery. "Do not underestimate them. I¡¯ll end this quickly with my strongest attack." (An eerie smirk spread across Kewa¡¯s monstrous face. He, too, was an Abyssal monster.) "Demonic Thun¡ª" Before Kilt could finish, a monstrous fist suddenly hurtled forward. BOOM! It was Buck, the humongous S-Class entity. His punch alone sent shockwaves through the battlefield. "One of them is already dead." But when the dust settled¡ª His arm was destroyed. The five Abyssal monsters froze in shock. Standing in front of Buck, completely unharmed, was Egon. His sword still hummed with power. "Earthly Heavy Sword." He had countered in an instant. If it had been any of the smaller monsters who rushed in first, they would have been erased from existence. "Good thing Buck took the hit," Kilt thought, his mind racing. "His vitality is the highest among us. If it had been me, I''d already be dead." He clenched his fists. "This is our only chance. Attack!" The remaining Abyssal monsters lunged. "Demonic Thunder Strike!" A spear of pure black lightning crashed toward Egon. The air hissed as reality itself seemed to tremble. The other four monsters moved in unison, unleashing devastating blows. But¡ª "Light that cleanses all doubt. Bestowed by the Supreme Sage¡ªShield of Light!" A radiant barrier engulfed Egon, reinforced by Eleanor¡¯s divine magic. Kilt¡¯s attack dissipated into nothing. The others pressed forward, unleashing a barrage of lethal techniques. Yet, Egon was untouchable. Flash Steps. Wind Slash. Heavy Sword. Sky Piercing. One by one, his sword found its mark, slicing through the Abyssal warriors with flawless execution. The battlefield trembled under the weight of their clash. And then¡ª "HAHAHAHA!" Kilt¡¯s ominous laughter echoed through the battlefield. He staggered forward, bloodied and broken. His right arm was gone, his body riddled with wounds. He could barely stand. He glared at Kewa, his voice dripping with fury. "Because of your arrogance... we''ve lost." But just as Egon and Eleanor prepared to deliver the final blow¡ª The ground shook. Buck¡ªthe S-Class monstrosity¡ªwas standing once more. His body pulsed with energy. His wounds had completely healed. "Impossible..." Even the Abyssal monsters froze. Buck¡¯s regeneration was beyond comprehension. And now, it was Egon and Eleanor vs. the ultimate S-Class Abyssal beast. Would even the strongest heroes survive? (Visual: A final panel showing Egon and Eleanor, battle-ready, facing Buck¡ªwhose overwhelming presence dwarfs them. The tension is palpable, as if the entire world is holding its breath.
