《Our Song》 Chapter 1: Jules The rain was crashing down on me as walked to the record shop where I worked. When I walked in I smelled the warm vintage air. My boss, Iris greeted me with a kind hello. "Hi Jules! There isn''t much to get done today so you can just get some homework done or play the guitar behind the counter. " "Ok, thanks Iris!" Iris disappeared into the back of the store, leaving me at the alone at the counter. About a half an hour passed before the first customer came in. The day carried on and I switched back and forth from doing my homework and playing the old guitar. I started to get a headache which was normal for me, so I closed my eyes for a bit. 20 seconds after I had closed my eyes, I heard the chime of the door. I oped my eyes to make sure the customer knew I wasn''t dead, and as soon I as I opened my eyes my headache was gone because the person who walked through the doors was a boy. He looked about 15 years old which was good because I was 15. He stood in the doorway taking the warm smell and vibe of the store. "Hi, welcome to Rewind Records!" I said with a bit more enthusiasm than normal. "My name is Jules, let me know if you need any help!¡± ¡°Thanks.¡± The boy said. I watched the boy flip through the records trying not to stare too much, but it was really hard. He had fluffy brown hair and deep brown eyes. He was a few inches taller than me and had a laid back outfit and overall vibe. Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on Royal Road. I watched him out of the corner of my eye as I pretended to do my homework. He walked past the U2 section, only glancing at it, but then he stopped, turned around and picked up an album. It was Joshua Tree. My heart stopped. Was he one of those fake fans who only knew one or two songs or was he legit? He came out to the counter where I was to ring him up. ¡°Joshua Tree. Good taste I see.¡± I said. ¡°Wait, do you listen to them too. I¡¯ve never met someone who likes the same music as me.¡± He seemed dumbfounded and absolutely amazed. ¡° ¡°I play their songs on guitar all the time too!¡± He replied. I placed his album in a paper bag and handed him the receipt. ¡°Well, I¡¯ll see you around¡± he said as he walked out the door. After he left I noticed he left his receipt behind. I picked it up to throw it out, but I noticed some blue ink on the back of it. Axel :) (604) 867-5309. My heart skipped a beat. Was this even real? Was I dreaming, because it sure felt like it. Chapter 1: Axel It was pouring rain. I saw a small record shop I hadn¡¯t noticed before. I squinted my eyes to get a better look at the name of the store through the haze that the rain had created. Rewind Records. I crossed the street and entered the store. Inside, a girl with long brown hair sat behind the counter with her eyes closed. She looked to be about 15, and I was glad because I was 15. After a second she opened her eyes and smiled. ¡°Hi, welcome to Rewind Records! My name is Jules, let me know if you need any help!¡± ¡°Thanks.¡± I replied with, but right after I said it I regretted it. The Jules had been so welcoming to me and all I had said was thanks. Nothing else, just thanks. I walked around the store flipping through the records. I glanced at Jules several times and I had to remind myself not to look too much or she would be weirded out. It was really hard to to look because she seemed so interesting, and I hadn¡¯t even talked to her. I was about to do one more circle of the store when the U2 section cought my eye. I picked it up and brought it to the front of the store so that Jules could ring me up. ¡°Joshua Tree. Good taste I see.¡± I was astonished ¡°Wait you listen to them too? I¡¯ve never met someone who likes the same music as me.¡± ¡°Yeah, they¡¯re one of my favourites. I play their songs on guitar all the time.¡± Hold on, she has good music taste and she plays guitar? Jules handed me my album in a paper bag with the receipt, and when when she wasn¡¯t looking I quickly scribbled my name and phone number on the receipt and left it on the counter. ¡°Well, I¡¯ll see you around!¡± I said as I walked out of the store back into the pouring rain. Chapter 2: Jules I spent days thinking about Axel. Should I text him? Or should I wait so he doesn''t think I''m desperate? A week after he had been in the store and had left while saying "Well, I''ll see you around!" I was wondering if i was ever going to see him again when he walked through the door. "Hi Jules!" he said. Wait he actually remembered my name? "Got any good recomendations today?" "Well any U2, AC/DC, or Joan Jett related is always good." I said, again being extra welcoming and happy. "Thanks! You''re always so helpful!" Wait, I forgot to message or call Axel. I added him to my contacts but I never got in touch with him. I hope he forgot about it, but if he asks I will just tell him that I didn''t relize his number was on the reicept and I just threw it out. I hope he doesn''t ask. He grabed a AC/DC album, and brought it to the counter. It was Back In Black. This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it. "Solid choice. One of my faverite song to play on my guitar, but it sounds so much better with a distortion pedal." I said. "That''s right!" Axel said "You play guitar too! you know I''ll have to hear you play sometime to make sure you aren''t just lying." He then slid a dark green guitar pick across the counter. "For the next time I see you. To make sure you actually play guitar." "Ok, sure. we keep an old guitar in the store so that will work." I said. "Anyways, I should get going. Bye, see you soon!" he said as he walked out the door. I looked at the recipt to check if he had written his number again. The back of the reciept was blank, and I felt a prick of dissipointment. Chapter 3: Jules
It was quiet in the store. Well it''s always quiet, but it was a different kind of quiet the kind that just seems boring, which was odd because I almost always find my job interesting and entertaining. I was fidgeting with the dark green guitar pick that Axel had given me about two weeks ago. Today would be the perfect day for Axel to show up for a guitar battle, and just like that he walked in. Speak of the devil. "Hi Axel!" I said, and holy crap. Something about him today seemed spicial. I mean, he was always cool and good looking, but something was different today. His dark hair fell perfectly into place and his clothes looked irisistably comfortable. "Miss me?" Axel said with a smirk on his face. I roll my eyes trying to hide the butterflies in my stoumache. "No. Not even a little." I say with a giggle. "So, about that guitar battle." he says still smirking. "That''s right. ok sure, the guitar is back here behind the counter." I pull over another stool for Axel, quickly tune the old acustic guitar, and feel the butterflies rise in my body. I give the guitar to Axel first with the green guitar pick he gave me. He plays Moneytalkes by AC/DC flawlessly. "Wow." I say when he''s done playing. "Now it''s your turn." he said, passing me the guitar. I play it safe by playing I Love Rock n'' Roll. It''s simple, but the solo sounds harder than it acctualy is. "So it is true. You do play guitar." I chuckle and I feel like I''m flying.
