《The Jabberwocky & The Mermaid》
The Pilot
My name is Klint. I am a Jabberwocky. I have a centaur body type. I have smooth, white, fish-like skin. My head is that of a fish with large fish lips. I have dragon-like legs and human-like arms and hands. I have sharp cyan nails on my legs and hands, and my dorsal fin is a deep pink color, and my eyes are guarded by a special pair of spectacles.
My life has been challenging due to my preference in magic. I chose to practice holy magic, a style my kind finds difficult. Other Jabberwockies study shadow, ice, or water magic. Holy magic is an art form so few creatures without sacred origins can perform, but I have made holy magic my life, and because of this, I am an adept in the field, but I do face ridicule from my fellow Jabberwockies, which has forced me into a life of solitude.
I live in a cave on the eastern shore. No one comes here except for the mermaids; they are my main patrons. I heal their wounds in exchange for pearls and fresh fish. I also bestow blessings upon their little ones. It¡¯s a service I am proud of. There is this one mermaid man who comes by daily just to spend time with me. I believe he has feelings for me, and I must say that I am growing feelings for him as well. He has bright light blue-colored hair, and he possesses a cream-yellow orca-patterned tail fin. It¡¯s absolutely radiant. His name is Noira.
Right now I am hard at work practicing this new spell. It involves creating an energy sword to slash at foes, but it is incredibly difficult. So far I keep all my spells written in my personal tome. The one thing that Jabberwockies are known for is writing in a strange cypher, and I am no different. My Cypher can only be understood by me or anyone else I teach it to, and so far that is no one. Another thing about Jabberwockies is that we are astute magical researchers. We study magic in all forms, and we retain knowledge from our parents lessons. My father saw my preference in magic to be a disgrace, but my mother encouraged my interests and actively helped me hone my craft. I was so grateful to my mother; however, she died from an illness when I was 24.
But enough about that; as I¡¯m practicing my spell, I eventually get fed up, and I take a break on the sandy beach. I then look out at the sea, and I let out a deep, raspy sigh. I consider going under the sea for a little R and R, but Jabberwockies can¡¯t use their magic in water; that is our one weakness. Hell, if you get us a little wet, then we become weakened; hence, some Jabberwockies study water magic; it¡¯s to gain control over others. Soon I see Noira¡¯s tail breaching out of the water. I smile as he comes up to shore, and he lays beside me.
Noira: ¡°Hey Klint, how are you?¡±
Klint: ¡°Good, I¡¯m taking a break at the moment; my new holy sword spell is proving to be difficult.¡±
Noira smiled and said
Noira: ¡°Well, you¡¯ll get it eventually. I had an interesting morning. I met up with some friends, and they tried to set me up with a date again.¡±
Klint: ¡°Really? And you turned them down?¡±
Noira: ¡°Yeah, I¡¯d really rather date you, Klint.¡±
I blushed heavily and said
Klint: ¡°Noira, are you serious?¡±
Noira confidently nodded his head and said
Noira: ¡°You¡¯re not like other Jabberwockies, Klint. You¡¯re kind, sweet, and loving. You even do a lot of good for my kind.¡±
I started to blush even more; I was so flattered, but at the same time, incredibly worried. How would we even, you know¡. I started to get so flustered my spectacles started to fog up; I couldn¡¯t help but start to panic, but then Noira placed his hand on my arm, and things started to get really hot.
Noira then began to smile. I lookeddeep into his emerald eyes; things just felt right with him somehow. Noira then sat up; I leaned in close, and we shared a blissful kiss. This was my first kiss, and it was unlike anything I had ever experienced before¡ªa true blessing upon me. Suddenly, a light began to radiate from my body. I felt so powerful; it was like waking up from a long sleep. When Noira pulled away, he had a sweet smile on his face. Noira then spent a sweet moment together, enjoying the view of the beach. Soon we parted ways. I then got up and began to practice my Holy Sword spell once again. If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.
To my amazement, I had perfected it with little to no effort. What was this? Could this have something to do with the power I felt when I was kissing Noira? I returned to my cave, and I began to note today¡¯s experiences in my tome.
I spent literal hours trying to figure out what was so special about that kiss. Could it have something to do with my feelings towards Noira? No, that is impossible, isn¡¯t it¡?
I was taught that emotions impede the efficiency of Magic, but was that really true? I never had such proficiency with Holy Magic before. I can think of only one other time where my prowess was this good. My mother and I were going to be attacked by knights. They had gotten my mother wet, and they trapped her in a poison snare. She was too weakened to do anything, and she told me to flee as the humans drew closer. A strange power welled up in my chest. I then tried one of my spells, and I unleashed a radiant blast of light at the humans. It was enough to bind them in chains of light. I then used the remainder of my mana to free my mother, and we escaped.
After that, my magic had never been as powerful. That is, until now. Is love the true key? I then went outside my cave and began to practice my magic. I looked through all the drafts of my failed spells, and when I tried them while thinking of Noria and what he meant to me, I was mystified to see that all my spells worked to fruition. I was astounded. I ended up practicing my magic until, well, until daybreak the next day. I was so happy.
I returned to my cave and rested for what little I could. I soon awoke to the sound of a serene tune. I knew the tune all too well; it was a mermaid flute. They are used to lure humans to their doom or sway the hearts of animals. I soon came out of my cave groggy. I then looked out onto the beach and saw a mermaid couple holding a basket with a small child inside it.
I smiled and told them to send him over. The two parents then used hydromancy to manipulate the waves into gently bringing the child over. I smiled, and then I began to happily anoint this innocent child. I gave him a blessing for both wisdom and strength, but most importantly, I gave him the blessing to forever be loved. I then sent him back to his parents. The two then scooped up their child and hugged him. They then filled the basket with pearls and captured shellfish. That would be my breakfast.
Once I got the basket, I began to separate the pearls from the crabs. Another thing that sets me apart is I like to cook my food. Other Jabberwockies are more prone to devour their prey alive, but any prey always tastes better after being thoroughly cooked. It¡¯s probably my magic preference having an influence on me, but I enjoy my new life choices with the crabs still wet. I have lost the use of my magic for some time, so I have to prepare a cookfire by hand.
This isn¡¯t an issue considering I had to do this plenty of times before I went over to my sleeping quarters and grabbed my messenger bag, and I placed my tome inside it. I then prepared the fire pit by placing two large stones beside it. I then cleaned it up a bit, removing anything that would hinder the flame. Then I took two flintstones and began to place the last of my good driftwood in the fire pit. Then I rubbed two flintstones, causing sparks to fly.
Suddenly there is a roaring fire, and I place a larger stone over the fire, thus creating a makeshift stove. I then set to work snuffing the life out of my crabs and cooking them. I hear spices are used to enhance the flavor of food, but sadly I don¡¯t have any. I should consider buying some next time I¡¯m in the Fable Market.
But for now I eagerly cook my crabs. I¡¯ve learned from my past experiences to not let my food cook too long or you risk burning it, so after a good while I eat my crabs. Luckily my strong teeth are able to easily destroy the crab shells, so eating them whole is no trouble. Once I am full, I proceed to do my next chore.
You see, I have a good relationship with the humans that live on this island. I sell items in exchange for gold coins, which I use to buy provisions. The only bad thing is that the humans only do trade with Fae creatures on one night a year; they call it Fable Night. Humans hate us simply due to fear. Luckily, the humans on this island seem a little more enlightened than those on the mainland.
The Fable Market''s human setup has attracted more and more foreigners, and my pearl loops make for an interesting commodity. The pearl loops I use are no ordinary pearls; they are special, you see. Mermaids create a special pearl upon their death. These pearls are sacred among the merfolk, but to humans, they are highly valued treasures. Mermaids will only give up their pearls if they truly need to, and for the service I provide, it is an equal trade. You may be asking why the mermaids would come to me when they could anoint themselves; well, the answer is clear.
More and more mermaids are having relations with the Beast Merfolk; some do it out of love, others use the Beast Merfolk as a surrogate mother, and the last reason is¡. Unpleasant either way, when this is done, the child is born with a mark that, if not removed through a holy blessing, will cause the child to die within weeks. They also know that Jabberwockies are decent in the arts of magic; we are on par with wizards, but not by much, so I am a valued asset to them.
The Pearls also have a certain magical quality to them, though it is faint, but it is enough to sway people to buy. Anyway, I make the Pearls into loops and then sell them at the Fable Market. It pays really well, but sadly, I¡¯ve been getting fewer customers as of late. I think it¡¯s due to my kind. They¡¯ve been actively raiding ships and harming passengers. It¡¯s really bad for the humans that live here. I feel like I might need to do something about it.
Two hours later, and I have finished the last of the pearl loops. I hide them away, and then I go out onto the beach like always. I look out at the sea as the sea breeze passes over my scales. I hear the sound of footsteps. I look over and see it¡¯s a human. Interesting; they rarely come to this shore. He cautiously approaches me.
And just stares at me for a few moments before saying
Human: ¡°Are you the Jabberwocky who uses holy magic?¡±
Klint: ¡°And if I am?
Human: ¡°Please, you have to do something. The other Jabberwockies have gotten out of control; ships can¡¯t get close to the island.¡±
I think it over for a bit and groan, standing up.
Klint: ¡°Fine.¡±
Human: ¡°Excuse me?¡±
Klint: ¡°I¡¯ll do it, but I require a service in return¡¡±
Human: ¡°Oh, thank you, oh kind Fae, and I promise I will repay you in any way possible.¡±
I then get up and stretch; I then check on my Tome. Yep, still in mint condition. With that out of the way, I make my way to the Western Shore.
End of Pilot
Episode 1: The Confrontation & Lustful Nights
As I made my way to the Western Shore, my mind was filled with all the painful memories of my childhood: all the beatings from my friends and father, all the ridicule, and the demented sneers. I have to be the one to stop them. I have to admit that with my newfound knowledge and confidence, I feel a lot better about things, but I have this sense of dread lingering in the back of my mind, like something terrible has happened.
The moment I step foot into my kin¡¯s territory, all my thoughts vanish. I take a deep breath, I hold my tome tightly, and I continue to walk forward, and my innate power starts to go off. All Fae possess an innate power; some of us possess more than one, but the innate power of a Jabberwocky is the power to detect magical auras only. We can¡¯t tell them apart.
For example, all Fae have magical auras; they are all different colors and give off certain levels of power. However, to us Jabberwocky, these auras are all the same color. The only difference is their levels of power, but we can¡¯t see our own auras. The last thing about our innate power is that it¡¯s limited to a certain radius; in this case, it¡¯s limited to 10 meters.
I then begin to travel deeper into the territory, and I soon start to detect some Fae coming towards me. Fearing the worst, I cast my Light Barrier spell around my body, and I cloak it so no one can see me coming. I then continue on my way, and then from behind, a water spell comes in contact with my barrier.
I turn around, and I see a Jabberwocky Hunter. He¡¯s surprised by my barrier, but once he sees my face, his look of surprise turns to malice. He soon starts to ready another spell. I then take this opportunity to send a radiant bolt his way. Luckily, my casting time is quicker, and I send him flying back. I then catch up with him, and I cast a silence spell on him that should make things a little easier. I then continue to the place of my birth.
Along the way, there are several attacks on my life, and like before, I am able to outdo them. They all have faces of anger when I swiftly trounce them, and it feels good to show up all those who mocked me. Soon I reach the large cave; I look to the walls with various runes written on them. Each rune is the name of a famous Jabberwocky who has ever accomplished something great. This is our way of remembering them. It¡¯s an interesting tradition of ours.
But upon closer inspection, each rune has been defaced. This is a grievous offense in our culture; defacing a rune will get you killed. What was going on here? I make my way into the cave only to find that it is completely defenseless. This doesn¡¯t make sense. We Jabberwocky value our secrets above all else. When I was just a whelp, this cave was always defended. Soon I find myself at the end of the cave, and I see a familiar face on the throne of fish bones.
It¡¯s my father. Only he¡¯s incredibly old and ragged.
Jabberwocky King: ¡°So you¡¯ve returned, bastard son of mine.¡±
Klint: ¡°Father, what is the meaning of this? You''re attacking the humans, ruining livelihoods, and worst of all, you''re destroying our history. Why?¡±
Jabberwocky King: ¡°Oh, bastard son of mine, for too long we jabberwocky have lived in the past, but through my trials I shall usher all Jabberwocky into the future. We only need to sacrifice the humans of this island, and then the Cult of Tenebris mentibus shall bestow upon us true greatness.¡±
Klint: ¡°Father, you¡¯ve gone mad. Nothing is so great a reward that you would ruin lives or ruin our history. I¡¯m afraid I¡¯m going to have to challenge you.¡±
Jabberwocky King: ¡°You don¡¯t mean?¡±
Klint: ¡°yes i do i challenge you to a Jabber Dual the winner will get the throne the loser will receive death by Hydromancy¡±
My father then came down from his throne, and he picked up a bizarre-looking staff. It was made from stainless steel, with a skull at the head. It had two rubies for eyes, and the head was marked with strange runes.
My father and I then walked out onto the beach, and soon we began to duel. Spells went flying back and forth. My father may look decrepit, but his magic was still incredibly sharp, but with my holy magic, I was able to hold my own, but I could tell that my father was starting to wear himself out; meanwhile, I had only just begun. I then quickly cast my new holy sword spell.
Suddenly a sword came shooting down from the heavens and caused massive damage to my father. As he reeled back panting, it was at this point that Jabberwockies began to crowd around us, watching our duel. When I looked at their faces, they all shared the same look, the look of pure fear. I could tell they were only following my father because they feared him. I then turned to my father, who had a look of pure malice on his face. He then began to pant and say
Jabberwocky King: "Bastard, you have done well to push me this far, but this is where it ends for you and all you other fools who would dream of opposing me. I shall show you all what awaits you."
My father then raised his staff skyward, and suddenly a geyser of black energy began to form around my father¡¯s feet, and then purple clouds began to form in the heavens, and then black lightning came charging towards me. I quickly put up a holy barrier to defend myself, but the black lightning just kept coming.
I was suddenly feeling the strain; even with all my training, I was nothing compared to my father and his newfound power, but where was it coming from? It was too much; I couldn¡¯t win.
Just as my barrier was about to shatter, I suddenly felt an influx of power rush into me. I then deflected the black lightning back towards the heavens, and my father¡¯s steel staff shattered. He had a look of pure fear painted on his face. I then looked to the cave, and I saw that each defaced rune was suddenly glowing with yellow light, and the runes were suddenly restored. Could this mean that the spirits of our elders are imbuing me with power? No, certainly not, but with this newfound power, I will win this duel.
I began to channel my powers into my spell, and within seconds, a golden meteor fell upon my father, defeating him for good.
Soon all my fellow Jabberwocky start cheering for me, and two Jabberwocky hunters begin to end my father¡¯s life with their hydromancy. I ultimately look away as they do it, and suddenly I am declared the new Jabberwocky king. I let them lead me inside, and when I get close to the throne, I turn around and say
Klint: ¡°I¡¯m sorry to disappoint all of you, but I do not want to be king. I simply wanted to rid you of that old fool on the throne. I just want to live a free life, but I do ask that you all leave the humans alone and find peace with whatever you do.¡±
I then made my way out of the cave, and as I was about to return to my shore, I was stopped by a young Jabberwocky. His skin is a handsome shade of ruby red, his dorsal fin is calm yellow, and his nails are a bright golden color. He smiles at me and says
Ramza: ¡°Klint, is it? My name is Ramza. I am one of the beta males, and I wanted to thank you for freeing us.
Klint: ¡°It¡¯s no trouble at all, Ramza. It needed to be done. Is there anything else I can help you with?
Ramza then began to blush, his cheeks changing to a deep shade of blue.
Ramza: ¡°Well, the Alphas were busy deciding who should be king when I spoke up and suggested that it would be a good idea if you sired some of the next generation.¡±

Klint: ¡°Excuse me¡¡±
Ramza: ¡°Please don¡¯t get me confused; it¡¯s just that I believe that a Jabberwocky with your amount of kindness and magical prowess shouldn¡¯t go to waste, you know? Plus, I don¡¯t want to let those idiots in there sire the next generation, so could you, umm¡¡±
Klint: ¡°Calm down, kid. I get what you''re trying to say, so here is the deal: you try to convince as many beta males as you can into coming with me. You all can be my harem, but please understand that I¡¯m already in a serious relationship.¡±
Ramza then smiled warmly and hurried back inside the cave. I honestly felt bad for the kid; all he wants is to have a happy family, and most of the Alphas in that cave are, in fact, idiots only focusing on power, so if I can spare some of these Betas from a life of horror, I¡¯ll gladly help them soon. Ramza comes back with three other Beta Male Jabberwocky One has indigo blue skin, green fins, and purple-colored nails. He says his name is Sapphire. Next, we had a Jabberwocky with pink skin, blue fins, and silver nails. His name is Soshu. Lastly, we have
An emerald green colored Jabberwocky with black fins and orange colored nails, his name is Karpi. I led them all back to my cave, and the moment we arrived, the first order of business was to make improvements along with our preferred choice of magic. We Jabberwockies also have a handful of other common use spells to make life easier. One of them is a spell that can expand and increase the living space of our cave; it can even create cave passages. The only problem is it needs four or more Jabberwockies to pull off. We quickly get inside the cave and form a circle in the middle of the cage. We then hold hands and begin to chant the incantation.
The cave walls slowly begin to glow as the cave begins to change; suddenly there is enough space for all of us, and when we finish the incantation, it¡¯s almost midnight. Sapphire, Ramza, Soshu, and Karpi then walk to their room while I go out to enjoy the view of the sea. Soon I am joined by my boyfriend Noira.
I tell him about what had happened today, but lo and behold, he already knows. I should have known mermaids see everything on this island. He asks me a series of questions, and I do my best to answer them, but then I put my finger to Noira¡¯s lips and say,
¡°Noira I¡¯m not going to mince words here, but I love you, you love me, and today I just went through hell, and all I want right now is a little, um¡ stress relief.¡±
Noira begins to blush, but soon we are kissing each other passionately, and soon I¡¯m on my back holding my sweet, sweet Noria pulls away and starts kissing my neck slowly, going down to my claspers, then Noira slowly begins to suck on them, and I start to moan from Noira¡¯s sweet, sweet handiwork within seconds. Noira positions himself onto my claspers. I am surprised that Noira even has that opening, but I don¡¯t want to judge. Soon we are going at it for the rest of the night. By morning I am holding Noira in my arms, and when I wake up, I am incredibly caught off guard by the fact that Noira now has human legs. My lover soon wakes up incredibly calm and says
Noira: ¡°Oh, I guess my maiden¡¯s secret is out in the open now.¡±
Klint: ¡°Wait, you knew this would happen?¡±
Noira nods his head and blushes.
Noira: ¡°Klint, when a mermaid consummates with another race other than a mermaid, they gain human legs to make it easy for us to live together.¡±
Klint: ¡°But Noria, I loved your tail.¡±
Noira kisses my cheek and says
Noira: ¡°Don¡¯t worry, babe; I can easily get my tail back when I get wet.¡±
Upon hearing that, I began to calm down. The next thing I did was introduce Noira to the rest of my harem; they really seemed to hit it off. I then went over to the human village to tell them the good news. I also brought over plenty of pearl loops to sell; however, I was met with a mountain of praise. Every human in the village gave me all of their gold in exchange for all of my pearl loops. I even met with the village chief; he spoke with me about becoming the island¡¯s guardian. He told me that the previous guardian was not long for this world, and he needed to pass his title to someone else.
First off, I didn¡¯t know this island had a Guardian, but if he¡¯s dying, it makes sense he doesn¡¯t have the power to handle the problems of the island. I ask the Chief to take me to the Guardian. He leads me to an old temple at the highest point on the island. The Guardian was lying atop a stone slab. He was an elderly man, but he wasn¡¯t a normal man; he was a magician. He weakly asks me if I am here to take his place. I nod my head and say
Klint: ¡°Sir, you¡¯ve been at this for a long time. I want to give this a shot. I¡¯ve got a bunch of free time on my hands, and there are people I want to protect.¡±
The elderly man then hands me an ornate wooden staff that morphs to resemble a bishop''s crosier. I guess it¡¯s to match my magic preference. The crosier then begins to give off a radiant light, and the elderly man turns to dust. I then turn around to speak to the village chief, and he is bowing to me. I sigh and tell him to rise. We then go back to the village, and I ask him for some clothes for Noira. He happily supplies me with clothes, and I return to my cave to find that Noira is teaching Soshu how to clean and gut a fish when it warms my heart. For the next few weeks, I bond with Noira and my beta males, and we get even closer.
For the next week, I played the role of the island¡¯s Protector. Some of my obligations involved settling disputes between the local mermaids and the humans. Apparently some mermaids were being poached for their meat. Let¡¯s just say that crime didn¡¯t go unpunished. In return for settling that escapade, the mermaids gifted me a vase full of fertilized rainbow eel eggs.
These fish possess a certain magical quality. When Noira saw the vase, he stated that the jar was magical in nature; it could support the lives of all the Rainbow Eels for decades and fulfill all their needs. I was impressed that the mermaids could create such an item, but Noira then admitted that these vases are relics from the fallen Atlantean empire, so they were incredibly rare.
It is becoming readily apparent that the mermaids are being extremely generous towards me, almost to the point of trying to buy my favor. They could be plotting something, but who knows what?
One day when I returned to the cave, I saw Ramza Soshu Karpi and Sapphire waiting outside. They were wearing shell necklaces around their necks, and they smelled of roses, jasmine, and chum. This mixture of aromas could only mean one thing¡
Mating season, I walked over to Sapphire first. I kissed his head, and I went behind him and mounted him. My claspers fully enlarged and entered Sapphire¡¯s warm oviducts. Soon carnal lust takes me over, and all I see is red, and soon I am pumping my seed into Sapphire, who starts to pant heavily, and soon I uncouple from Sapphire, who quickly begins to moan. He then walks into the cave to recover.
My insatiable lust continued with the other members of my harem, and when I was finished, I found myself resting in my section of the cave. I smelled something sweet. I got up and walked over to the next room, where I saw Noira cooking something. Noira looked behind me and smiled, saying,.
¡°You all passed out so quickly, and you slept for two whole days, so I decided to make a hearty fish, apple, and crab stew. There¡¯s enough for everyone. Come over; have a bite.¡± I sat next to Noira, and he handed me a bowl of soup. It tasted great. An hour later, Soshu came into the room.
Soshu is an interesting Jabberwocky; his pink skin is incredibly distinct, and originally Soshu was pursuing Shadow Magic, but since living with me, he¡¯s decided to pursue the study of Fire and Healing Magic. He wants to become the first Jabberwocky White Pyromancer. The humans are helping him in his studies, and I¡¯m thankful for it because I have no idea how healing or pyromancy works. Soshu also has an interesting personality; he¡¯s overly flamboyant and loves to make clothing. He¡¯s an interesting breed, to say the least.
Soshu: ¡°my my that was a passionate mating Klint i really admire your gentle nature Darling mmm i can¡¯t wait to be the Mother of your Spawn mmm¡¡±
Klint: ¡°Hehe, just remember, Soshu, we¡¯ll need to prepare a proper nest for the eggs when it¡¯s time, ok?¡±
Soshu giggled as he ate his soup, and then Sapphire came in next. Sapphire was the smart and sexy one of our harem. He also changed his preference in magic; he¡¯s aiming to become the first Jabberwocky hex spell blade. He¡¯s taking fencing lessons in the human village, and he is quickly learning as many curses and hexes as he can. Sapphire is making so many breakthroughs.
Sapphire is also devouring his way through the Humans Archive; he goes there every day to read through their vast collection. He''s really going to run out of reading material if he keeps going at his pace.
Sapphire: ¡°Greetings, everyone. I smelled the savory aroma of food, and I just had to come out. Please hand me a bowl.¡±
Klint: ¡°Are you always this calm, Sapphire? I mean, we just had a moment of pure passion. I¡¯m surprised you''re not reeling.¡±
Sapphire: ¡°Klint, what we had was absolutely magical, but I am a Jabberwocky of poise and intelligence. I will always lead with elegance and grace; it¡¯s what separates me from the rabble.¡±
Klint: ¡°It sounds to me like you''re just trying to be something you''re not, Sapphire.¡±
Sapphire just rolled his eyes and began to drink the soup, happily chewing on the supple crab meat. Next to show up was Ramza; he had a spring in his step. He was an interesting Jabberwocky; he chose to study barrier magic, one of the hardest magical art forms to get a grip on, but I''m going to help him the best I can, though.
Ramza: ¡°Mmm, this soup is amazing. Who made this?¡±
Noira: ¡°I made it, Ramza. I¡¯m glad you like it.¡±
Ramza: ¡°Noira, where did you learn how to cook so well? This is far better than those raw foods I had before as a whelp.¡±
Noir: ¡°Well, in all fairness, I learned from Klint. I watched as he prepared meals for me, and I took some mental notes.¡±
Ramza then looked to me, and his eyes started to gleam with amazement.
Ramza: ¡°I knew you were amazing, Master Klint, but my opinion of you just seems to skyrocket.¡±
Karpi was the last to come in; he came over, took a bowl of soup, slurped it down, and then left. I called out to him and said
Klint: ¡°wait Karpi you just woke up where are you going it¡¯s still late¡±
Karpi: ¡°I want to go fishing; the best catch only comes around nightfall.¡±
Karpi was an interesting Jabberwocky; he had no interest in magic, but everyone else said that Karpi possessed the greatest magical talent out of all the Jabberwockies in the community. Still, he was only concerned with fishing, aquaculture, and crafting. Ramza told me that Karpi was a natural with geomancy; it was even rumored that Karpi could move the entire island if he wanted to.
Karpi soon left for the night, leaving the five of us alone. We spent the whole night talking. We then returned to my room and slept huddled together. The next morning, all six of us went to perform our usual tasks. Soshu and Sapphire went to the village to study their arts. Karpi fell asleep for the night. Noira went to the mermaid colony to run errands, and I was helping Ramza with his barrier magic.
The simplest way to explain barrier magic is to say that it is an all-scientific and mathematical formula. The basics of any barrier are a formula with the elements being used as components. You also need an understanding of the elements in order to know how to best repel them. It¡¯s a lot of work, but it¡¯s going to be worth it to see Ramza become the first Jabberwocky Barriersmith.
End of Episode
Episode 2. Trouble in the Fable Market
I woke up from a sweet dream. I then realized that my sweet Noira was sleeping against my side. I sighed and let him lay there as I wrote down some things in my tome. I mainly described how Noira looked at this moment and how cute he is. Noira, my sweet, sweet prince, is truly a blessing in this malevolent world.
Soon I hear my sweet Noira start to yawn, and I smile at him. Noira then looks up and says
Noira: ¡°Morning darling, did you sleep well?¡±
Klint: ¡°I slept just fine, my darling. I woke up early, so I decided to jot down some things in my tome.¡±
Noira: ¡°You know, one of these days you''re going to have to teach me your cipher. Isn¡¯t that the ultimate form of trust for your kind?¡±
Klint: ¡°You¡¯re correct, and I swear I will teach you one day, but for now I¡¯m working on securing funds so we can build a better home on this island.¡±
Noira: ¡°Klint, what do you mean a better home? I like the cave a lot.¡±
Klint: ¡°Noira, please, I can tell that you''re pregnant, and pretty soon we¡¯re going to have a cave full of Jabberwocky pups, and keeping the eggs alive will be difficult within this cave, so right now I need to secure the funds to build a proper home somewhere else on the island, hopefully with a freshwater spring and waterfall for bathing.¡±
Noira blushes and sighs, looking away.
Noira: ¡°How long have you known Klint?¡±
Klint: ¡°Noira, my innate power allows me to see auras, and the one inside you is shining brightly.¡±
Noira: ¡°Can you tell me how many are in there?¡±
Klint: ¡°That¡¯s a secret.¡±
Noira then began to groan and soon stood up and began to get dressed soon Soshu came walking in; he smiled and said,
Soshu: ¡°Um, Klint, the other beta males and I were going through a mood, and we were thinking that you could help us calm down, please.¡±
I smiled and sighed. I then get up and follow Soshu over to his shared side of the cave with the other beta males, and we share physical intimacy. By the time I finish with them, it will be noon. The Fable Market is tonight, so I have to make the necessary preparations and finish my latest batch of Pearl Loops. I am also selling roasted Rainbow Eel Skewers. They have been selling for 2500 gold a pop. Luckily, I am only selling three each. When I finished my last Perl Loop, I placed them into a basket. I then told Noira to keep an eye on things while I was at the Fable Market.
Noira kissed me on the lips and said things would be fine. I then made my way to the human village. When I entered the village, everyone bowed to me. As I was walking by, everyone had come to greatly appreciate me, and I was thankful for it. Soon a little girl ran up to me and smiled. She handed me a flower. I smiled and accepted it. I placed the flower into my basket, and I proceeded on my way. The Fable market is held in the center of the village. This is so all Fae can be properly monitored in case they would try to cheat or harm the humans. Luckily, they haven¡¯t had any reason to harm us. I soon start to set up my stall. I purchased a portable grill not too long ago, and I mainly use it for the Fable Market. I quickly skewer the Rainbow Eel on metal kabob skewers, and I begin to cook them on the grill. I season them lovingly and then let them cook. As I¡¯m cooking, I hear a shrill voice.
I turned my head around and saw a Filia Terrae Nymph looking over my wares.
Klint: ¡°Can I help you?¡±
Genna: ¡°My name is Genna, and I think I¡¯m the one who can help you. What do you know about my kind?¡±
Klint: ¡°Sadly, Genna, the only thing I know about your kind is that your life is linked to a sweet potato; if it¡¯s destroyed, then you cease to be.¡±
Genna: ¡°Well, you''re not wrong, but more specifically, my kind is born when a sweet potato is engraved with the runes for purification, love, and clarity. After that, you must bury the sweet potato in corrupted or toxic earth. After two months have passed, then a Filia Terrae is born.¡±
Klint: ¡°What a touching story. I also believe your kind is a relatively new Fae species to be discovered, am I right?¡±
Genna: ¡°You¡¯re right. Some scholars are taking me to the mainland to be studied and documented, but here¡¯s the part where I can help you see when a Filia Terrae manifests: the corrupted land becomes purified and becomes enchanted as well. No one can build on that land without the Filia Terrae¡¯s blessing. I hear that you¡¯re the Guardian of Mystica Island and that you were living in a cave. I don¡¯t think that¡¯s very proper for an island guardian, so I want to give you my blessing. It¡¯s the right thing to do since I won¡¯t be here anymore.¡±
I then turned completely around, shocked at what I heard.
Klint: ¡°You''re serious, aren¡¯t you?¡±

Genna: ¡°As the Toxins that gave birth to me, so may I give you my blessing so you can move in.¡±
Klint: ¡°Can this wait until after the Fable Market? I have to focus on selling my wares.¡±
Genna then nodded her head and walked off. I was so completely caught off guard that I almost burnt the Rainbow Eel Skewers. Luckily, I was able to save them in time, and within seconds, the sun had set, and the lanterns slowly began to light up, and soon the foreigners started to fill the streets. You know, with my newly achieved guardian status came a lot of prestige. Soon every foreigner wanted to buy handmade treasures from the island¡¯s guardian, but the fabulously wealthy paid a king''s ransom for my skewers.
I would sell out in seconds. I usually close after one-fourth of my stock is gone, but since I was going to get land for free, I might as well sell all I have, so I stayed open. I drummed up as much business as I could. It was then when I heard a rifle go off. Everything went silent. I grabbed my Crosier and went out in the middle of the center of Plaza.
Soon a human came over to me; he was terrified and said,
Human Guard: I¡¯m sorry to disturb you, Klint, but we have a problem in the western alley of the village.¡±
Klint: ¡°Please lead the way.¡±
The guard then led me to the alley. The further we went, the more gunshots I heard. I was beginning to get worried, and soon I saw she was a human with albino-colored skin, blood-red eyes, and long, messy pink hair. She was a dhampir. The creature hissed at me. I then got a closer look at her deformed body. She was a mixture between anorexic and completely bloated. It wasn¡¯t a pretty picture; this creature was also the size of a teenager. This poor, sickly girl didn¡¯t have long to live, but still she had to be put out of her misery. I then shot a radiant bolt towards the Dhampir; it dodged out of the way.
I bound the creature in golden chains that burned it badly. I then came towards this sad creature as it screamed in pain. I placed my hand on her head, and I began to recite the Banishment incantation. Her screams soon died down into soft whimpers, and soon she faded into a speck of light. I sighed and stretched. That was an ordeal. The guard thanked me, and soon I went back to my stall, and to my surprise, I saw more sacks full of gold. I smiled. It¡¯s great to be appreciated. I soon sold the last of my pearl loops, and I took all the profits back to the cave where Noira and Sapphire were waiting with a home-cooked meal of crab and oyster chowder. I was then surprised to see Genna here as well.
Genna happily informed me that she had prepared herself for the ritual. Genna and I then walked outside. She then took my hand and began the rite. She began speaking in the Gaiain Script, an ancient language created by the Primal Earth Mother herself. Soon, Genna¡¯s horns began to glow a bright green. I could feel the magic pulsing off of them; it was so powerful. For a new species of Fae, Genna has a deep understanding of magic and how it works. I am deeply impressed.
When Genna had finished, there was a special seal on the back of my hand. Genna then left for the village, and soon she gave me one last wave goodbye. I then went back to my family, and I told them that we were moving. We quickly began packing up our belongings. I offered to carry most of it, but Karpi looked to me and chuckled.
Karpi: ¡°Yeah, that¡¯s not happening now. Out of all of us, I¡¯m the strongest now. Let me carry the majority; you pansies can just rest and focus on your personal loads.¡±
Karpi then carried all of our tools, cookware, our supply of food, and all of our treasures. We were all impressed. We then began to walk into the depths of the jungle. We were guided by the symbol on my hand; it would glow the closer we got to the land owned by Genna. Soon we came to a large clearing. It was odd since it was just a pure field in the middle of the jungle. Karpi smiled and said
Karpi: ¡°Wow, this is a nice spot if I do say so myself.¡±
Klint: ¡°What do you mean?¡±
Karpi: "You guys really can¡¯t tell there is a wellspring of magic radiating off the very earth itself?"
The rest of us were clueless. Karpi then rolled his eyes and said
Karpi: ¡°Fine, let me show you all the true potential of this land.¡±
Karpi then kneeled down and placed his hand on the ground, and soon the entire field began to glow a neon green, and soon the ground began to shake. Soon the earth began to rise and fall; it was unlike anything I had ever seen before. Soon stone buildings began to form, and a lake began to form; it was like watching a symphony. Soon the light faded, and a beautiful villa stood before us with a large lake beside it.
Karpi then stood up and said
Karpi: ¡°I suggest one of you will have to go down to the village to employ a carpenter; otherwise, we¡¯re going to be a little barebones at the moment. Now, if you¡¯ll excuse me, I¡¯m going to sleep under the stars. ¡°
Karpi then nestled himself on the soft grass while the four of us went inside. There was no furniture, but the villa had three stories and a gorgeous inner courtyard with plenty of room to garden. We all slept outside with Karpi.
The next morning I let Soshu and the others do the unpacking while I went to the village to buy furniture. It wasn¡¯t a hard find; there was only one carpenter in the village, and with the amount of gold I was offering, he promised that I would be his passion project. I then remembered the courtyard, and I chose to buy some seeds ranging from flowers, fruits, and vegetables. I also went to the shore and called out to the mermaids, and I asked for a single coral core.
The mermaids graciously gave me one, and I returned to my family. When I returned, I saw that Soshu had chosen a room to make the clothes he loves so much, and he finished one of his projects. It was a white and red frilly nun¡¯s headdress with a pale soft cream-yellow veil. He also made a white triangle scarf with soft pink symbols woven into it and lastly a white vest. Soshu looked absolutely adorable in his new outfit. I came over to him and kissed his soft, warm silver lips. I then told Soshu to make an outfit for me. Soshu jumped at the opportunity and quickly went to work. I then went to go find Noira; he was outside enjoying the lake; he was happily resting in it. I then took this opportunity to drop the Coral Core in his lap. When he felt it, he smiled with delight.
Noira: ¡°Klint, did you really go down to the shore to get this for me?¡±
Klint: ¡°Yeah, I thought you might get homesick since we¡¯re so far from the sea and all, so I want you to plant this in the lake and bring a slice of home into our home.¡±
Klint smiled and swam to the bottom of the lake with the Coral Core in his hands, and soon he placed the Core on the lake bottom and began to use his powers to make it grow. Mermaids have a few unique abilities; one of them is the ability to grow coral and to create whole reefs. They just need a coral core and love.
With the power of love, all things are possible. I am starting to believe that soon I will see a light start to form in the lake. It¡¯s a dim light, but it is going to grow big and strong in time. A coral core also holds eggs of several sea creatures inside it, most of them being magical, and the interesting thing is that a coral core develops like a tree, and it will eventually grow into a coral heart and fill the lake with life.
Noira then surfaces and smiles at me; he is so excited to see the lake fill with all sorts of life. I helped him out of the lake, and I saw how Noira¡¯s tail fin was engulfed in light and slowly became a pair of human legs.
I was amazed by this. Soon I helped Noira into the house, and then I remembered the seeds I bought. I found Karpi; he was in the inner courtyard happily lounging, and I then gave him the bag of seeds. Karpi smiled and said
Karpi: ¡°Heh, thanks a lot, Klint. This will help us to become more independent. You¡¯re absolutely awesome.¡±
Karpi then gave me a high five and set to work planning the garden. I then went to find Sapphire and Ramza. I found the two preparing the cooking area. I also saw a new stone oven built into a wall, and under the nearby windowsill sat the Rainbow Eel Vase. Ramza was trying to find a good place to put the portable grill, and Sapphire was counting the supplies.
I helped out the best I could, but Ramza was being incredibly picky, and Sapphire didn¡¯t want to be disturbed by sunset. We had managed to figure everything out. We also had a visit from the carpenter; he came to scout out the situation and to see what all he needed to do. It was at this point that Soshu spoke up and consulted with the carpenter. He obviously knew way more about design than any of us did. Thanks to Soshu, we were able to get furniture that suited all of our tastes. Soshu felt incredibly proud of himself for the next few months. We received furniture from the carpenter and his family, and we would spend days trying to figure out the right Feng Shui of the house according to Soshu.
He said it would improve our lives as well as the lives of our children. When the last of the furniture was delivered, we had finally had the proper feng shui of the house, and we all had to apologize to Soshu because after living in the newly coordinated home, we did feel a lot better.
