《Tournament of Omniscience [Death Game]》 Chapter 1 A white haired man with green eyes in a red hoodie walks into a store. When he does, a gust of air from the air conditioning breezes over his entire body. He walks over to the fridges and takes out an orange soda. The man waits behind a woman as she buys a pack of sour candy and a bottle of water. He taps his foot against the ground as he looks outside the window. He notices something outside the corner of his eye. It seemed to be a black figure somewhat similar to a shadow. But just like a flash of light it was only there for a second until it was gone. What was that? While the man was paying attention to the figure the women finished paying for her items and left.Stolen content alert: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences. ¡°Next!¡± The store clerk shouted rather obnoxiously. The man turned his attention back towards the store clerk and went to buy his food. After he was finished, he left the store and began walking home. It was a dark and gloomy night, the sky was pitch black with the street lights only slightly illuminating the area. For some reason, there were no cars, bikes or people. Just a completely lonely road. Almost as if everyone had disappeared. He was walking on the sidewalk when he saw the figure appear across the other side of the street. It was staring at him. He began to run away in fear trying to get away from the figure as fast as possible. However, the being was much faster than him and caught up to him in a matter of seconds. BAM! The figure knocked him out, his undone body slowly and gradually falling to the floor. As the figure stopped moving we can see that the figure looked quite human. It was wearing a black suit and bow tie with a eyepatch on his right eye. But his raven black hair already covered the eye anyway. He had a dark skin tone and stern face. This being wasn''t exactly human, but it resembled one. It, no, more accurately he, was known as Onlooker. ¡°The final contestant, 1069, has been captured.¡± He said. Chapter 2 The man woke up with a searing headache and felt quite nauseous. He looked around and seemed to be in a room of some sort. It had a bed, a mirror, a desk, and a toilet with a sink next to it. The room¡¯s walls were made of logs and the floor was made of planks. There was a singular light beaming from the center of the ceiling with seemingly no light switch for it in sight. Where the hell am I? He walked up to the mirror and looked at himself in the reflection. He was wearing a black suit with a skinny necktie. Additionally, he had a name tag that read: ¡°Contestant 1069: Jack Watanabe¡± ¡°Huh? What¡¯s this supposed to mean?¡± Jack exclaimed as he read what was written on his name tag. ¡°Attention all contestants,¡± A voice spoke from the speaker in the corner of the room. Jack looked towards the speaker. ¡°Your doors will be unlocked shortly, when they are please walk towards the center room of the building.¡± The voice instructed. As the instructions were given out, the door in Jack''s room opened up. Jack walked out the room and into the hallway. He saw a orange haired boy with a bowl cut walking forward to a room.Support the creativity of authors by visiting the original site for this novel and more. When the boy turned the corner, Jack decided to follow him. When he reached the end of the hallway he entered a large room with lots of people. The room was filled with men and women all wearing suits just like him. This is quite odd. Jack analyzes the room and the people inside looking for anything to give him clues or understanding of the situation. ¡®There is about 1850 people in this room, and judging on the amount of space and rooms this floor on its own could be the size of a skyscraper if it was placed down horizontally.¡¯ Jack quickly estimated the amount of people and size of the facility in only a few seconds. He took in every factor as a part of estimation, sound, the feet on the ground, even the air quality of the room. All these observations were taken into account. Then, the walls surrounding Jack incinerated as contestants began to gasp and scream. All around all the contestants was a blue void. Jack looked around and began to think. ¡®How are we not falling down since the floor dissolved. Additionally, how is this even possible?! Wait¡none of that matters right now, the best course of actions is to wait.¡¯ A women appeared and flew up into the air. Jack¡¯s eyes widened. She¡¯s quite beautiful The women was in a black dress with a rose in her long brown hair. She floated in the air with a domineering aura that could only be fit of a queen. What¡¯s allowing her to fly like that? The crowd of people began mumbling and whispering among themselves. ¡°SILENCE¡± The woman''s voice echoed into the void with every voice fading away. ¡°Contestants, you all have been carefully selected to be a part of this death game.¡± The crowd gasped in disbelief. ¡®Death game? What the hell is this?¡¯ ¡°This death game is called The Tournament of Omniscience. In this competition you will go through rounds where you will use your abilities to strategically defeat your opponents in each round.¡± ¡°However, we need to narrow down the amount of contestants before we start game 1.¡± The woman smiled for the first time. ¡°So, for game 0 we will have you all kill each other until the minimum number of contestants has been met.¡± What?! ¡°This is insane! What you¡¯re spouting is a load of crap.¡± One man said. The woman''s face turned into one of sorrow as she lowered herself down to confront the man. ¡°Oh my dearest apologies good sir, do you want to abstain from participating in the game?¡± She asked him. The man smirked awkwardly, surprised at her sudden change in demeanor. ¡°Yeah! I don¡¯t wanna compete in this stupid competition!¡± He said as he laughed boastfully. The man¡¯s eyes widened as he slowly fell to the ground. ¡®What? Why am I falling?¡¯ The man thought. Once he reached the ground he looked up to see what happened. And when he did he was horrified. Damn, that¡¯s not good. The man had been severed in half only leaving his legs standing. The woman laughed as the man¡¯s bottom half fell to the ground. ¡°My name Lucy, and I¡¯m your host for game 0.¡± Her eyes sharpened and her smile faded. ¡°If you refuse to participate in any of the games starting from now¡.¡± Lucy floated back up to look down upon the contestants. ¡°You will die.¡± Chapter 3 The void changed into a grassland. ¡°When the game begins you will be given an envelope in your suit pocket. It will tell you the details of your ability.¡± Lucy explained. ¡°The only rules are that once at least 800 contestants die, you must stop fighting immediately.¡± That¡¯s about half of us. I guess I just have to pray I get a good ability because if I don¡¯t¡. I might die A display saying ¡°800 players left¡± is displayed to all the contestants. ¡°The game begins in three, two, one, go!¡± Beams of light consumed Jack and the other contestants. He teleported inside a building that seemed like it was a hospital. Although it wasn¡¯t very well made since all the lights were shut off and it looked run down. Did you know this text is from a different site? Read the official version to support the creator. The only source of light Jack had was the sunlight coming inside from the window. Where am I? He went towards the window and looked outside of it. It seems we all teleported to some run down city. He saw a small city with 2 other buildings across from the one he was in. But the city seemed to not have been inhabited in years due to the grass breaking through the concrete, seemingly returning back to before the city was constructed. The buildings were visibly breaking down. Oh yeah, I need to stay focused. Jack thought as he took out a letter in the pocket of his suit. This wasn¡¯t here before. I assume that this is what will tell me what my ability is. Jack opened the letter and took out the slip of paper inside. He unfolded it and read the contents of the message. The paper read ¡°Debt collector: Can borrow the abilities of someone in debt to you¡± Debt collector? What kind of ability is that? What does someone being in debt to me mean? Do they have to feel indebted to me or does it happen when u do something for them regardless? Jack had many questions regarding the details of his abilities. Unfortunately, these questions won¡¯t be answered, for now. ¡°Huh?¡± The building Jack was in began to shake. The heck? Dang, someone must¡¯ve used their ability and caused the building to shake. I need to get out of here before it collapses. Jack began to run out the building in a flash, dodging the bricks and debris fading down. After getting about four stories down Jack stopped. There are still about 5 more flights of stairs till I get down and by the looks of it, the building would collapse by then. Jack looks toward the nearest window and jumped out of it. For a normal person this could¡¯ve caused serious injury, but Jack isn¡¯t normal. He landed on the ground with no injuries with only dust gathering on the suit. When he reached the ground he caught the attention of a man with purple Mohawk. That man has blades for arms. The man¡¯s arms turned back to normal. He then looked at Jack and a devilish grin appeared on his face. ¡°Look what I found!¡± The man laughed. His gaze turned serious. His killing intent slowly leaking out. ¡°Free prey.¡± Chapter 4 The purple haired man rushed towards him with the intention to kill. His arm turned back into a blade as he slashed at Jacks chest. However, Jack dodged and grabbed the man¡¯s wrist and threw him to the floor. ¡°Argh!¡± The man groaned as he began to get back up. Jack began to run away from the man as fast as possible. ¡®It¡¯s not the best idea to fight him without proper understanding of his ability. If I fight him, I would most likely win. But I don¡¯t know how his ability works and what parts of his body he can turn to blades.¡¯ Jack continues to run until he is stopped by a wall. Damn it, not good Usually, this wouldn¡¯t be that big of an issue, but the weeds and grass that grew from the ground limited Jack¡¯s vision. The man with blades was closely following after him so Jack had to come up with a solution quickly. Jack decided to wait for the man to catch up with him. When the man caught up he yelled. ¡°FOUND YOU!¡± The man said. He attempted to slash Jack but Jack did a flip and propelled himself of the ground. This gave Jack a clear vision of the rest of the area so he could decide where to go next.If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. Plus, doing flips is quite fun. When Jack reached the ground again he ran towards a building he saw. There was only one reason he did this, it was to save a child who was falling off the roof of the building. The child is about halfway down the fall and is falling at a consistent speed. Judging by the size of the child, I can calculate how fast I need to run to catch the child in time. Jack sped up to the required speed he needed to run to save the child and leaped into the air. The child fell into his arms and Jack returned back to the ground. He looked at the child in his arms. It''s a boy, he looks like he¡¯s around the age of nine. So, they even have children here, interesting. The young boy seemed to be startled by Jack suddenly catching him and didn¡¯t know what to do. Jack placed the boy down on the ground. ¡°Thank you so much sir.¡± The boy says. ¡°It¡¯s no problem, can you tell me your name?¡± Jack asked. ¡°My name is Loid.¡± He responded. ¡°Well Loid, my name is Jack and I¡¯m going to protect you from now on.¡± Jack says grinning. In the distance, many contestants were fighting with debris falling everywhere. Along with the blood and dead bodies scattered around the area. Behind him, a man floating in the air yelled. ¡°Oh you¡¯re not dead yet kid? Well guess what? You and your little friend are going to die for sure now!¡± Jack swiftly turned around. Analyzing the owner of the new voice that has just arrived. The guy must be the reason Loid fell from that building. The man with blades appeared soon after. ¡°You can¡¯t escape me buddy!¡± The blade man shouted. This is one of the worst possible outcomes. The blade man rushed towards Jack and sends a barrage of slashes at him. i can¡¯t dodge because if I do the slashes will hit Loid. He blocks the blade man¡¯s attacks and a few cuts appear on Jack¡¯s arms. Then, the man floating in the air sends a condensed gush of air towards Jack and Loid. Jack covers Loid as the both get blown away and tumble to the ground. I need an offensive ability right now. Without one, I can¡¯t win, or even survive while protecting Loid. Jack looks towards Loid and contemplates on what to do. Wait, if I saved Loid, that would make him indebted to me, right?¡¯ Jack¡¯s hand glows green, signaling he now has a new ability.Jack smiled as a gun appeared in his hand. The blade man appeared above him, about to slash down at him. ¡°GOODBYE!¡± He said bringing his sword arms down at him. Jack took out his gun and shot the man in the chest. ¡°Wait what? Where¡¯d you get that gun from?¡± The man¡¯s lifeless body fell to the ground and his arms returned to normal. Jack lets Loid go and both of them get up off the ground. ¡°Loid close your eyes.¡± Jack orders turning towards the man in the air. ¡°BAHAHA! I¡¯ll blow you and that gun of yours away!¡± The man shouted. Another gust of wind is sent towards Jack, one much stronger then the previous one. Jack runs up and across the side of the building and jumps off. He shoots the man in the air in his forehead. Jack falls back down to the ground as the man¡¯s corpse fell down along with him. The gun in Jack¡¯s hands disappears and he can¡¯t resummon it. So, the ability to borrow another person¡¯s ability only lasts for about a minute. I hope I can make it last longer in the future. Despite the fact that he had killed to people, Jack¡¯s demeanor hadn¡¯t changed in the slightest. Chapter 5 Jack walks back to Loid with an annoyed look on his face. ¡°I told you to close your eyes.¡± He said. ¡°It doesn¡¯t matter, I knew you would kill him anyway.¡± Loid replied. Jack sighs and shakes his head. ¡°You¡¯re one weird kid.¡± I wonder what the condition for borrowing ability is. Does the person have to feel indebted to me? Or are there certain requirements for someone to be indebted to me? This is something that will be vital to know for the future. Jack looks towards the contestant count in the sky. It was the end of the game. ¡°All contestants, the game has ended, anymore violence beyond this point will result in execution.¡± After a few seconds, all the commotion and sound around Jack had stopped. Then, a pink smoke filled the air and clouded the area. Slowly, all the contestants began to fall one by one. I guess this is how these people will move us to our next location. I wonder, who are the people who kidnapped us? What¡¯s their goal? Why are they able to do these impossible things? These were Jack¡¯s thoughts as the smoke overtook him and he fell unconscious. In another place, multiple figures were gathered around. ¡°Damn it, where is Lucy? She should be back already!¡± A large man with a beard shouted. This man wasn''t really a man at all. He was Onlooker, like the one who abducted Jack. Lucy was one too, and that¡¯s why they were waiting for her to arrive so they could start the meeting. This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it. ¡°Please calm down Algar, your constant bellowing is quite the nuisance.¡± The person who said this is a Onlooker called Madolf, he is the same Onlooker who abducted Jack. All the Onlookers have gathered into this single room, where they would have a discussion about the death game. This room was an elegant one, with a high quality dining table being surrounded by 8 chairs. At the end of the table, there was a fireplace and a painting on top. This painting was of a man facing off against a fierce dragon with hard red scales and large white teeth. Some would say that this room could resemble a Victorian style dining room. Algar sat at the end facing the painting while Madolf sat in the middle chair on Algar¡¯s left. ¡°Shut up Madolf, I didn¡¯t ask for your opinion.¡± ¡°Hey guys we¡¯re all friends here, why don¡¯t we just get along.¡± The man trying to end Madolf and Algar¡¯s conflict was an Onlooker named Jewel. He was wearing a casual outfit that only consisted of a white T-shirt, black jeans, and a black hoodie that was unzipped completely. Jewel was sitting in between Madolf and Algar so naturally he wanted the least amount of conflict as possible. ¡°Fine, I apologize for the inconvenience.¡± Madolf apologized while he fixed his bow tie. ¡°Anyway, what have you guys been doing for the last decade?¡± Jewels asks the other Onlookers. ¡°I was keeping myself busy roaming randomly around the world. By the way did you know that if you go deep enough in the ocean you¡¯ll accidentally swallow a whole lot of fish.¡± A woman in a red dress said. Everyone inside the room deadpans and a sweat drops from each of their faces. ¡°Seriously Catha, you do some of the most random things.¡± Jewels said. ¡°Well unlike Catha here, I went on a journey of cooking and I learned 4 continents worth of reci-¡± ¡°Shut the hell up Phil, no cares about your tales of gluttony.¡± Algar says, cutting Phil of. ¡°What did I even do?!¡± Phil says in an upset tone. ¡°Everyone shut up already.¡± A voice said. The room went quiet and everyone turned their attention to the owner of this voice. Lucy slowly appeared from the shadows of the room. ¡°I¡¯m back from the game, can we start the betting already?¡± Lucy asked. ¡°Oh look the cutie is back, now are you going to let me take you out for some fun now?¡± Algar vulgarly asked, obviously viewing Lucy as a romantic interest. A cut swiftly appeared on Algar¡¯s cheek and blood dripped from his face. ¡°Say a terrible pick up line like that again and your head will be next.¡± Lucy said. The room began to shake violently and items began to float in the air. ¡°Watch your tone, woman.¡± Algar said in a serious tone. Jewel sighs and Madolf begins to speak. ¡°Both of you stop, we have a limited time until the next game begins, we must start betting now.¡± Madolf says, intending to end the conflict as soon as possible. Everyone calms down and the room returns back to normal. ¡°In case you forgot, we all have 10 chips that represent our wishes and we use those chips to bet on each player. The more chips you have on the player that wins the death game, the more wishes you get.¡± Madolf explains. A board appears on the table with each player''s face on it and all the Onlookers get 10 chips. ¡°Sounds good!¡± Algar yells, causing his voice to echo through the room. He places all of his chips on an elderly man who seemed to be around his late 60¡¯s. ¡°The old man? What do you see in him, he¡¯ll probably drop dead before the end of the game.¡± Jewel said. ¡°The man killed five dudes for no reason at all. I have to bet on that.¡± ¡°I have no arguments with that.¡± The Onlookers all choose which participants they are interested in and place their bets. At the end of the betting Madolf decided to make a unique bet. He bet a chip on Jack. ¡°Him? The guy with the weird ability? Why¡¯d you vote for him?¡± Lucy asked Madolf. ¡°I got a good feeling about him.¡± Madolf responded. ¡°Then I should vote for him too!¡± Lucy placed 2 pieces on Jack with a grin on her face. Chapter 6 Jack was in a giant glass tube, filled with chemicals. He had tubes connecting through his arms, mouths, and legs. The room had grey metal walls and had monitors, tubes, and surgical materials everywhere. Multiple scientists surrounded him with computers that tracked his vitals. An elderly man, the same man Algar betted on, looked at Jack with a smile across his face. ¡°Give him double the previous dose of drugs.¡± The elderly man said. ¡°But sir that¡¯ll kill hi-¡± ¡°Do it.¡± The scientist nodded and sent in another dose of drugs into Jack¡¯s body. Jack¡¯s body jerked in reaction to the burning sensation he felt. Jack smelled all of the chemicals and drugs being injected into him. He tried to scream but it was muffled by the mask on his face. This story has been unlawfully obtained without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. Then, Jack woke up in a bed, covered head to toe in sweat. He panted, but slowly his breath softened when he realized he was safe. He looked around at his surroundings. He was in the room that he was in before game 0. Jack stood up from his bed and began to stretch. All his injuries from the previous day had been completely healed. This seems to be an intermission time until the next game. Jack walked to his door and opened it. Nice, I can move around freely in this place. But I need to check up on the kid before I do anything else. Jack exited his room and began to walk around the mansion, searching for Loid. After a while, he found Loid¡¯s room which happened to be relatively close to his. ¡°Yo! Loid, how ya doing?¡± Jack said as he walked into Loid¡¯s room. Loid looks towards Jack and tilts his head sideways. ¡°Mr Jack?¡± Loid says. ¡°Yup! I told you I¡¯d protect you so you¡¯ll be with me from now on.¡± Jack says smirking. They began to speak and get to know each other a little more. This kid will be valuable in the future, especially because of his offensive based ability. So I¡¯ll use him from now on and help foster his growth. Jack looks towards Loid with a sharp gaze. But if he drags me down, I¡¯ll have to kill him. A sound rings throughout the building. ¡°All contestants get back to your damn rooms.¡± Lucy said, her voice ringing throughout the building. After the order was given, Jack returned to his room and went to sleep for the night. Over the next 3 days, Jack repeats the same cycle every day. He went to Loid¡¯s room and extracted information about him through casual conversation. The continuous exchange in conversation between them developed their relationship and brought them closer with each other. Using this process, Jack learned things as simple as his favorite food, which is a plain cheese sandwich, to things as sensitive as Loid¡¯s mother¡¯s death. However, now it¡¯s time for a shift in Jack¡¯s routine. Chapter 7 It has now been 4 days since the events of game 0, and Jack is just waking up from his slumber. Dang, now that I think about it, this bed is a pretty good upgrade from the mattress I sleep on at home. Jack stands up from his bed and stretches for a bit. Then, a ring echoes throughout the building and an announcement plays. ¡°All of you, return to the main room. If you don¡¯t remember what that is, it¡¯s the room you were in before game 0.¡± A new voice commanded. A new voice, that means this guy is most likely going to be the next proctor for the first game. Or I guess second, if we count game 0. Jack listened to the man¡¯s order and exited his room to go to the main room. When he arrived, he saw the Onlooker called Algar. Algar was in the center of the room with his arms crossed while a serious expression was plastered on his face. His red hair was long and messy and his beard was no better. Oh, I assume this is the guy heard earlier considering his deep voice would match his larger build. Jack¡¯s eyes glanced around the room, looking for anything that wasn¡¯t there previously. If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. Woah, this room feels so much less crowded when there¡¯s half the people. Jack noticed something very odd for a single moment. A figure in the crowd of people. Resembling someone he recognized. Who was that? Even though he was there only for a second he looked like that man. Loid walked up next to Jack and smiled at him and Jack gave a smile in return. I wonder, is my plan to use this kid to win the game evil? Even if I was trained and taught to use everything and everyone to my advantage, is that actually an excuse? Then, the room began to shake violently as everyone in the room felt a presence like no other. Damn, is this an ability like the ones we have? If it is, it most likely will be gravity based or something similar. ¡°Now that everyone is here, I can now begin the explanation of the first game.¡± Algar said with a sly grin across his face. I see, this man is the type of guy who uses his powers to make others fear him and causes him to feel more powerful. ¡°Now that the real games have begun let me explain to you guys who I am. I am called an Onlooker who observes each game and makes sure you all are following the rules just like how Lucy did in game 0. We have powers just like you little weasels, but ours are much stronger and we can use them whenever we want. Plus, we¡¯re Immortal so none of you guys are really a threat to us.¡± Algar explains with an amused expression on his face. That makes so much more sense, but it still doesn¡¯t explain who these Onlookers came from and the point of this death game. ¡°Anyway, the first game will take place in a maze where your goal is to find the exit within 10 days. Failure to do so will result in an execution.¡± Algar states. ¡°You all will be allowed to use your powers freely and go absolutely wild. Personally, I advise you to kill as many people as possible to avoid having to fight more people in the next games.¡± He advises while stretching his neck. The idea of the game seems fairly simple so it¡¯s likely that there are some things inside the maze not being mentioned in the explanation. Regardless of the content of the game, it won¡¯t make a difference. Nothing on this planet¡is capable of killing me. Everyone in the room is teleported to inside a cave-like structure. The environment has one big border with a roof that is all made of stone and wraps around the area. There are multiple holes in that all lead to different passageways The area had an aroma of sand and dust while being moderately warm. It was, without a doubt, the center of the maze. Well this isn¡¯t necessarily what I envisioned as a maze. It being so cave like is quite interesting. ¡°Now everyone, I wish you all a great ten days of misery. You may now begin!¡± Jack¡¯s expression turns serious and his eyes turn cold. I have two goals. The first one, make Loid dependent on me and trust me completely. The second, find another participant to be in debt to me so I can borrow their ability. Effectively, making them a new weapon I can use at my disposal. Chapter 8 ¡°So, what pathway do you wanna go in, little man?¡± Jack asks Loid while he looks down at him with a grin. Loid¡¯s eyes widened and then his expression turned more serious and he went into deep thought. The boy has never really been asked what he wanted before so this was a new experience for him. If I want to make him trust me, it would help to be more kind and give him more choice and freedom instead of feeling forced into anything. A false sense of options will make Loid feel more optimistic about his situation. After what seemed like an eternity, Loid arrived at an answer. ¡°We can just go to the one in front of us.¡± Loid finally answered. ¡°Then, let¡¯s go!¡± Jack says walking towards the tunnel-like structure. Loid quickly jogs to catch up with Jack. After all, the boy would have no idea how to go about escaping the maze without Jack. With the comfort of having an ally to rely on, Loid is now in the proper environment for growth. Inside the tunnel, it was much darker than the center in which the contestants began. The shadowy atmosphere would have usually prevented almost any vision for contestants, luckily however, there were torches that provided enough light to illuminate the tunnel. Jack walked with Loid for about 20 minutes in a straight line without any change in direction. Also, neither Jack nor Loid initiated any conversation at that time. Then, they reached a point where the path was separated into two separate sections, left or right. I doubt the way that we choose to go will cause a significant effect on each contestant''s safety or at least refrain from lethal injury. Considering they gave us abilities that allow us to kill one another, and we have more ¡°games¡± to play after this, it¡¯s unlikely they¡¯ll have traps that¡¯ll kill us off too quickly. I can¡¯t think of any benefits that would bring to whoever created the tournament of omniscience. So I¡¯ll allow the kid to pick again this time. ¡°Well, Loid it¡¯s up to you, which way do you want to go?¡± He¡¯ll pick left. ¡°Left.¡± Loid said. In response both of them walked down the left path together.A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation. It was a fairly similar pathway as the previous one. Unfortunately, the terrain on the pathway the two were on now was much more rocky and difficult to get by. Along with the fact there were small little booby traps like spikes that came up from the ground every 30 seconds or a huge axe swinging from the walls. Thankfully, Jack¡¯s agile movement and quick thinking and reaction time allowed them to evade all the traps. Before they knew it, Jack and Loid had been traveling for over 4 hours. At least this time, the two conversed in a good bit of small talk to keep each other company. Finally, Jack and Loid reached a large room with three other passageways, left, right, and forward. Someone is watching us, It seems they have been waiting even before we arrived. ¡°It¡¯s about time we reached a checkpoint, wouldn¡¯t you agree?¡± Jack asked Loid, turning his head slightly in Loid¡¯s direction. ¡°Yeah, we¡¯ve walked for a while.¡± Loid responded shyly, attempting to hide his fatigue from all the walking. Because of Loid being only 9 years old, his body was not able to keep up with Jack¡¯s abnormal stamina and as a result he was barely able to walk anymore. Although Loid wasn¡¯t going to tell Jack that, he refused to be a burden to him. On the bright side, Jack already predicted Loid¡¯s tiredness even without Loid telling him. He even predicted how long it¡¯d take to reach the room so Loid didn¡¯t pass out beforehand. That¡¯s why he planned on staying at the checkpoint for tonight. The attacker is coming from the top back left corner of the room, but is he aiming for me? No, he¡¯s aiming for Loid, Just then, a man with short black hair dived from the air, intending to punch Loid with his right fist in the back of his neck. In response, Jack pushed the man¡¯s fist outward, elbowed the man¡¯s right shoulder and punched the man in the face with his left fist. The punch caused the man to fly from the air and roughly fall on the cold hard floor. Something is wrong, when I elbowed the guy and moved his fist his skin felt like a normal human. But when I punched him, my fist stung, does that mean he has the ability to harden his skin? The attacker quickly got back up from the ground and ran towards Jack. ¡°§´§í §Þ§Ö§â§ä§Ó!¡± The man shouted as he ran. He¡¯s Russian? That means the people summoned for the tournament aren¡¯t only from America! The tournament of omniscience must be a global death game. Jack ran up to the man in response and they began to engage in a fist fight. The attacker sent an punch from his left fist and Jack easily dodged and sent a kick to the chest in return He¡¯ll throw a punch to my left side as a distraction, then he¡¯ll try to kick me in my right knee to offset my balance. The attacker attempted just what Jack predicted, but when he tried to hit Jack in his side, he jumped back instead of blocking and caught the man¡¯s fist. Then he pulled the attacker to him and kneed him in the face, and then he threw the man to the ground. Just as I thought, his ability gives him steel like skin, I can dent him and stuff he can fight for long periods of time because he can¡¯t bleed like a normal person. I¡¯ll have to kill him with non-traditional methods. The attacker jumped right up and continued to engage in combat with Jack. Loid had already materialized a pistol and wanted to help Jack but there was one issue. Where do I shoot? I know I have to help Mr Jack but I don¡¯t know how to shoot the other guy without Mr Jack being shot! These were the thoughts currently going through Loid¡¯s head. Which his why he hadn¡¯t made any action to engage in the fight. However, Jack had already thought of a way to end the fight, and Loid is the key to doing it. Jack slowly moved the fight, without anyone noticing, to the entrance wall of the room. Which was right under a huge rock. ¡°Loid! Shoot the rock above us!¡± Jack said, getting punched right after he said those words. Loid looked up and understood Jack¡¯s orders. He shot lots of bullets around the rock to carve out an area so it was loose enough to have the rock fall off. Jack jumped out the way and the rock fell and crushed the attacker rendering the main unable to move. Once the main was immobilized, Jack walked over to the man¡¯s head, which was slightly sticking out from under the rock. Then, he snapped the attacker''s neck which killed him instantly. Jack looked down at the man with cold unwavering eyes. It happened again. I was unable to feel anything from killing someone. I¡¯ve killed so many people that I¡¯m unable to feel any emotion when I do it anymore. All the fear, disgust, remorse, and even guilt, has already disappeared. Does this make me a monster? Am I still even human? Chapter 9 Jack turned back around from the now dead man in front of him with a fake smile. ¡°Sorry you had to see that again, let¡¯s get some sleep for tonight.¡± Jack said to Loid sympathetically. ¡°What? I thought we¡¯re going to walk more I¡¯m not tir-¡± Jack emminated a bloodlust unlike anything ever seen before, causing his glare to make Loid feel suffocated without Jack using any abilities whatsoever. ¡°We¡¯re going to bed.¡± Jack started walking over to the opposite corner. Loid decided to stay quiet and followed quickly after Jack. They both sat down at the corner, only being able to rest on the cold hard floor. Jack got into a sleeping position and Loid followed suit. ¡°Good night little man.¡± Jack says humorously. ¡°Good night Mr Jack.¡± Loid replied, closing his eyes to prepare for his slumber. Jack turned on his side and closed his eyes, but he wasn¡¯t actually asleep. He was thinking, planning, for his next steps. Jack didn¡¯t require nearly as much sleep as the average person, he could stay awake for 20 days straight without sleep although that doesn¡¯t guarantee there would be no mental damage. So far, everything is going according to schedule. Loid is getting closer to me and is beginning to get attached. Now, I just need to find my next weapon. But I also need to think about how I¡¯ll move from here on out, considering the height, length and sound of the maze¡¯s echo so far, I predict there are probably 219 different pathways in this maze and approximately 39 different checkpoints like this, 40 if I include the last one. Alright, it seems I can do this in 9 days. A few hours later, Jack was laying down peacefully until he heard a strange noise that put him on guard.Love this story? Find the genuine version on the author''s preferred platform and support their work! What? A person¡is crying? Jack turned over to look at Loid, only to see the 9 year old crying, crawling into a ball while mumbling something under his breath. ¡°Dad¡I¡¯m sorry¡please don¡¯t beat me again¡¡± Loid mumbled, his lips quivering with every word. Dad? Was Loid being abused by his father before the tournament? Loid began twisting and turning on the cold hard floor, seemingly struggling with an invisible force. The boy¡¯s whimpers and mumbling became louder until it was almost like a scream. Jack sat up and crawled to Loid, placing his hand gently on the right side of the boy¡¯s abdomen. Then, he softly shook Loid in an attempt to awaken him from the nightmare he was in. Loid jerked awake and immediately sat up with sweat down his face, looking around his surroundings with fear in his eyes. ¡°Hey, Loid, you¡¯re safe, no one¡¯s going to hurt you now.¡± Jack told him in a warm tone. Loid¡¯s eyes locked onto Jack''s and his expression softened as he realized he wasn¡¯t in danger. ¡°I¡¯m sorry I didn¡¯t mean to wake you up. It was just a nightmare, I have them all the time. You can go back to sleep I¡¯m fi-¡± ¡°Relax, I¡¯m not going to get upset or mad at you. Just tell me, what was the nightmare you had about?¡± Jack asked. Loid¡¯s eyes wavered and he hesitated for a moment, but then he began to speak. ¡°Before I ended up here, I was being beaten by my father daily. Everytime I didn¡¯t do something he didn¡¯t like, made too much noise, or anything really, he hit me. I couldn¡¯t go to school or have friends and I didn¡¯t really know what to do..¡± Loid explained, on the verge of tears. ¡°Loid, I will never hurt you ever. As long as I¡¯m here I will protect you. My only ask is that you follow my every command from here on out. Just trust me, and I will protect you. Can you do that?¡± Jack asks. Loid nods obediently, signaling he understood and rested his head on Jack¡¯s shoulder. After a few minutes, Jack began to drift back into sleep, this time, without any signs of a nightmare. In the morning, Jack slowly nudged Loid off him to wake him up. ¡°Woah Loid look at this!¡± Jack says pointing to the man he killed the previous day. ¡°It¡¯s a dead guy!¡± He exclaims in a fake shocked tone. ¡°Isn¡¯t that the guy you killed yesterday?¡± Loid asks grumpily, his tiring state evident in his voice. ¡°Oh yeah! I forgot about that.¡± Jack says laughing nervously. Loid deadpans and slaps himself on his forehead in disbelief. ¡°What a weird guy.¡± Loid thought. The rest of the second day was fairly uneventful. Loid and Jack engaged in enjoyable conversations about casual things that Loid never got to learn about, like comics, cake, sports, and amusement parks, although Jack has never actually been to one. Loid finally got to have a posting adult figure in his life while Jack enjoyed Loid¡¯s company. They traveled throughout the maze mainly on Jack¡¯s guidance though, unlike the previous day. But the third day was where things began to get really interesting. Loid and Jack were just walking as normal through the tunnel, they had reached about 3 checkpoints by this point and were at a pretty steady pace. Everything was normal until they heard a deep male voice. ¡°It¡¯s great to see you again, Sergeant.¡± So I was right, that man really is here. An older man came into sight, the same elderly man who was in his dream. ¡°I can¡¯t say the feeling is mutual, General Forsquave.¡± Jack said with a slight venom in his voice. Chapter 10 The old man in front of them, now known as General Forsquave, began to laugh. ¡°I guess that is pretty fair, however I didn¡¯t expect this.¡± The general says, referencing Loid. ¡°You, the genius who aced every university exam worldwide, the ultimate soldier, the best fighter and strategist ever seen in the army, is now traveling with a child? You must¡¯ve gotten real soft in the year since you¡¯ve left, or rather, escaped the army.¡± General Forsquave remarked. The General wasn¡¯t incorrect in his statement. A year ago, the thought of Jack looking out for anyone besides himself in a battlefield was abysmal. But Jack had changed from then. ¡°Can you blame me? In the army, everyday was hell, I¡¯m glad I escaped and after this tournament, I¡¯m not going back.¡± Jack responded. General Forsquave, my supervisor in the army and the one who gave out orders and managed my group for project inhuman. Loid watched the exchange in silence and finally decided to make a comment after Jack spoke. ¡°Mr Jack, do you know this man?¡± Loid asked with suspicion. ¡°Oh my apologies, I forgot to introduce myself, I am John Forsquave, I¡¯m an old friend of Jack from the army.¡± The General said, never letting the smile on his face drop, not even a little. Friend? That¡¯s bull. He¡¯s the one who put me and the other soldiers through all of our suffering. The same man who injected drugs inside our bodies, made us train till we fell unconscious, who made us fight against enemy countries against our will, and the same man who caused all of my comrades to fall ill from all his experiments and drop dead. Regardless, I refuse to make him influence my judgement. This story has been unlawfully obtained without the author''s consent. Loid formed a pistol in his left and placed his right hand under it for support. Then he aimed it at the General and shot with his hands slightly quivering. The bullet blasted from the pistol and towards the General¡¯s chest, but the bullet never made contact. The General dodged the bullet, causing the bullet to only graze the man¡¯s suit. The General looked at Jack and his smile grew even wider, one could describe this disturbing smile as somewhat devilish. He can dodge bullets? The old man wasn¡¯t that fast last time I saw him. In fact, I¡¯ve never seen a person move that fast. So he must have a speed based ability. Damn it, we have to get out of here! The general tried to grab Loid but Jack got the boy first and threw him over his shoulder. Then, he ran away from him at inhuman speeds. After only 12 seconds, they were back at the previous checkpoint, and Jack went in a different direction from the way he came. Once Jack thought he was far enough away, he put Loid back down. ¡°That guy was dangerous, if you ever see him again run. Do you understand?¡± Jack said. ¡°Okay.¡± Loid replied. The old man having a speed based ability isn¡¯t much of an issue because there must be a drawback of some sort. But why didn¡¯t I notice that he was actually here, I scanned each and every face from the beginning of the tournament to now and I still only saw a glimpse of him. It was such a small glimpse I thought I could¡¯ve mistaken him for someone else. That means that man must¡¯ve been deliberately hiding from me in a blind spot. Damn it, I should¡¯ve realized something was wrong when the heads I counted weren''t equal to the faces. Jack was thinking about this as he and Loid walked at a steady pace. Once a bit of time passed, Loid decided to confront Jack about what had happened. ¡°Hey um, Mr Jack? Is the thing the man said about you being in the army true?¡± Loid asked Jack shyly. ¡°Yes, it is. A year ago I was a soldier in the army, that man was in a higher rank than me and gave me and the other soldiers orders.¡± Jack responded calmly. I predicted he would ask about this at some point. ¡°But you were fighting bad people right? You guys weren¡¯t hurting anyone good guys right?¡± Loid asked nervously. ¡°All of the people we fought were really bad guys and we only fought them so we could protect our country. Luckily, we always won!¡± Jack said, showing the boy a wide grin. That¡¯s a complete and utter lie. If there was truly a good and bad side in our battles, we were anything but good. We ruthlessly killed anyone who opposed us, just as we were trained to do. Even the innocent weren¡¯t safe from us as we raided towns and villages. I am no hero, I¡¯m just a weapon that was used for war. Chapter 11 It was now the fourth day of being in the maze and Loid and Jack were moving at a nice pace. The navigation has now been almost completely entrusted to Jack as they search for an exit through the maze. Jack could have already escaped the maze by now if he wanted to but there are two reasons why he didn¡¯t. First, Jack¡¯s stamina and speed exceeded that of a normal human by multiple times, in fact, there is no human on the planet as physically capable as Jack. Meaning that there would be no way for anyone much less than a 9 year old boy to keep with Jack. Secondly, Jack still wanted to find a person who was indebted to him so he could use their ability for later games. Luckily, for him, an opportunity like that was soon approaching. For the past hour, someone has been going the same pathway as us. It¡¯s unlikely that they''re following us with the intent to kill or even know we¡¯re here because they aren¡¯t trying to hide or conceal their presence. And judging by their body weight and shape, they are most definitely a woman. This opportunity is perfect. Jack and Loid approach a new area unlike anything they have seen previously, causing them to stop in their tracks. ¡°Lava?¡± Loid said confused. There was a 12 feet lava pool separating the ground into two sides. The only way to get across was the large rocks sticking out from on the left wall that were within jumping distance from each other. The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement. I guess they want us to use these rocks to make it across even though I could just jump to the other side. But I¡¯ll do it the normal way with Loid instead. ¡°Hey Loid, I¡¯ll piggyback you while I get to the other side.¡± Jack said. ¡°What¡¯s a piggyback?¡± Loid asked, tilting his head slightly. Jack crouches down in front of Loid and puts his arms behind his back, with his palms facing up. ¡°Just climb on my back.¡± Jack said. Loid climbed on Jack¡¯s back and put his arms around Jack¡¯s neck. Then, Jack walked over to the left side of the wall and got on the first rock. Slowly, Jack jumped from rock to rock, some shaking because of the weight of two people. On one of the rocks, Jack dug his hand into where the rock connected to the wall without Loid noticing and slightly separated the rock from the wall, causing it to be unsteady. Once they got to the other side, Jack put Loid back down on the ground. ¡°Loid follow me, someone might be following us.¡± Jack said, walking through the new exit pathway. The tunnel had a long walk ahead, but Jack and Loid only went a little bit of the way. Just enough to make it so the person behind them couldn¡¯t see them when she entered the room. After a few minutes, a woman walked inside the room. She wasn¡¯t terribly fatigued but you could notice some sweat droop from her face, which is normal for a person who had been walking for a while. The woman had beautiful dark, smooth, skin and had long silky black hair. Along with dazzling golden eyes. She looked fairly young, in her early twenties, around Jack¡¯s age. She looked around the room, analyzing her surroundings to figure out why it looked so different then the previous tunnels or checkpoints. ¡°Crap, this place sucks.¡± She muttered when she realized she actually had to make her way across the lava. The woman made her way across the unstable terrain, carefully making her way from each rock towards the other side. Unfortunately for her though, once she stepped on the rock that Jack tampered with, it broke off and she began to fall. Good, It¡¯s time for me to go! Jack dashed towards the woman as she slowly fell down, showing an expression of a mix of fear and surprise on her face. Jack leaped across the lava and swiftly caught the woman, wrapping his hands around her and arriving on the other side. He placed on the ground slowly and gracefully but while he was he took a moment to actually see the woman¡¯s face up close. Woah, she¡¯s really¡cute Chapter 12 ¡°Can you stop staring at me now?¡± The woman said with a tone that seemed more confused than annoyed. ¡°Oh yeah, my bad.¡± Jack apologized with an awkward smile. ¡°Anyway, who are you?¡± Jack asked the woman. ¡°I¡¯m Riveria, pleasure to meet you.¡± She says with a wide grin while she sticks out her hand. ¡°Jack.¡± He says, shaking her reached out hand. Dang it, something¡¯s wrong, I don¡¯t have her ability for some reason. Jack carried her and leaped over the lava like he did before and greeted Loid who had his jaw dropped in shock. ¡°If you could¡¯ve just done that, why didn¡¯t you do that before.¡± Loid asked, visibly irritated. If you come across this story on Amazon, it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. ¡°Didn¡¯t feel like it.¡± Jack said while he shrugged. Loid scoffed and Jack put Riveria on the ground so she could stand up on her own. ¡°Mr Jack, Who is this lady?¡± Loid asks as she turns his attention to the new person in front of him. ¡°This is our new ally, Riveria. She¡¯s going to be traveling with us for a little while, right?¡± Jack responds, looking at Riveria. ¡°Yeah.¡± Riveria says while nodding. ¡°Nice to meet you little boy.¡± She says, sticking her hand out to Loid. Loid looks at her hand, looks to Jack, and then looks back to Riveria, as if he¡¯s about to speak. ¡°I don¡¯t like this woman, I refuse to let you take Mr Jack from me.¡± Loid finally says. Riveria gets visibly irritated and mumbles the word ¡°Brat.¡± under her breath. On the other hand, Jack was dying of laughter and thought the situation was hilarious. All of them exited the area and went inside the next tunnel together. My hand didn¡¯t glow. Why don¡¯t I have the ability? Does this mean the person has to actually feel indebted to me? But most people would be extremely grateful to me for saving their life. Unless¡dang it, I have to make sure. ¡°Aren¡¯t you going to say thank you for saving you? You didn¡¯t say it before.¡± Jack asked Riveria. ¡°Nah, why would I? Any decent person would¡¯ve saved me if they saw me in trouble. In fact, I would¡¯ve saved myself too if I saw that happen.¡± She responds. I get it now. The reason why she isn¡¯t grateful is because in her eyes, she has absolutely nothing to be grateful about. I assume that she was raised to help anyone in need as if it was second nature so she thought nothing of it when I saved her. Alright, new goal, save her in a way that sacrifices myself in a way that even she wouldn¡¯t do so she''ll actually be grateful to me. Chapter 13 Jack, Loid, and now Riveria, have now been walking for around an hour now and they were starting to get to know each other. Riveria acted somewhat odd for a person that Jack and Loid just met. She wasn¡¯t reserved or seemed like she had anything to hide, it was almost as if she was an open book. Funnily enough, Riveria fit right in with both Jack and Loid. Having a person be so bold and honest really helped Loid break out of his shyness a bit. Plus, it was a relief for Jack to get to finally be around someone his age. After all, even before the tournament he wasn¡¯t really a social person and had no ¡°real¡± friends. The trio reached another checkpoint once again and stopped. Riveria yawned and slumped her shoulders. ¡°Man, I¡¯m so freakin tired, can¡¯t we just stop here for today?¡± Riveria asked grumpily. Great, another weak person! Can¡¯t anyone here have any sort of endurance or stamina at all? Sure, I know I¡¯m the physically strongest person here without taking abilities into account, but come on! It¡¯s only like 5-6 hours of walking. ¡°Fine, we can stop here for today.¡± Jack replied barely hiding his annoyance and resisting the urge to sigh. ¡°Thank god¡¡± Loid mumbled. He was afraid of telling Jack that he wanted to get some rest so Riveria doing it for him was a relief. ¡°Dang Riveria, I expected Loid to be tired since he¡¯s a kid and all but you must be pretty weak to get tired this fast.¡± Jack teased. Enjoying this book? Seek out the original to ensure the author gets credit. ¡°Sh-Shut up!¡± Riveria replied, clearly letting Jack¡¯s remark get under his skin. ¡°Anyway, this is going to be an uncomfortable sleep. Couldn¡¯t they have given us beds or something?¡± Riveria whined. ¡°You¡¯ll be alright.¡± Jack said with a slightly amused smirk on his face. The next day, the trio once again ventured through the maze together. Since it was the fifth day, it was now the halfway point of this game. Unfortunately for Loid and Riveria, that meant Jack would make them travel a bit faster than before. ¡°JACK! SLOW DOWN BEFORE I BURN YOU ALIVE!¡± Riveria yelled at Jack, a small flame igniting in her hand. Jack stopped walking a turned around. He stopped about 7 feet away from Riveria and noticed the flame in her hand. He walked back to her with a curious look on his face. ¡°Riveria¡you have a fire based ability?¡± Jack asked. ¡°Yup!¡± Riveria answers, puffing out her chest proudly. Wow, this girl really doesn¡¯t have a single suspicious bone in her body. Jack then began to smell something starting to burn. ¡°Hey¡Riveria..I think you¡¯re burning your sleeve.¡± Jack says, his voice quivering as he holds in his laughter. Riveria¡¯s eyes widened and she looks at her right hand as the fire burned her sleeve slowly. She then quickly dispelled the fire and groaned. ¡°Dang it, how am I always so careless.¡± Riveria says. Jack bursts out laughing clearly showing that his attempt to hide his amusement with the situation failed miserably. Even Loid began to chuckle at the silliness of the situation. ¡°Come on! You¡¯re laughing too Loid?¡± Riveria asked with annoyance and a bit of embarrassment. These people¡I enjoy being with them. I truly want to be friends with them but that¡¯s illogical. Emotional attachment only gets you and others killed. They will both eventually die and I¡¯ll be alone again. Like it was in the army and just like how it was for the past year. They are just weapons¡everyone is. After about 45 minutes the trio is still navigating through the maze. However, the floor pattern is different this time. Instead of a plain smooth surface, it¡¯s now infected with a multitude of different tiles. As the trio walked through this tunnel, Loid ended up stepping on a tile that pushed into the floor. ¡°Um Mr Jack and Ms Riveria¡I think I might''ve triggered something.¡± Loid said. ¡°What are you talking abo-¡± Riveria started before stopping in the middle of her sentence as the tunnel began to shake violently. Dang it, they must¡¯ve set a trap for the participants. Then, the floor began to open up under them which caused all three of them to fall into the unknown. Chapter 14 The trio fell for about 3 seconds before landing ungracefully on the ground. This new area was a lot different than the previous environment they were in. Trees? Why did they transport us to a jungle? This new terrain must be related to whatever we¡¯re here for. ¡°What the heck happened? And where are we?!¡± Riveria asked while looking around the area in a futile attempt to understand where they are located. Loid on the hand was simply sitting on the ground and staring straight forward, seemingly in shock at their sudden fall. Although, after a minute he quickly snapped out of whatever daze he was in. The somewhat minty smell of the forest wasn¡¯t overbearing but it was just enough to make the trio feel more relaxed in their unfamiliar environment. Just then, a figure slowly emerged from the trees and stood in front of the three contestants. ¡°Welcome to the third minigame of the maze game.¡± Lucy exclaimed with a wide grin. She¡¯s the woman from the beginning of this tournament. She must be here to proctor the minigame just like she did for game 0. And if this is the third minigame, there are at least three other minigames and Onlookers readied to proctor them. ¡°What minigame are you talking about?¡± Jack asked. ¡°There are multiple minigames throughout this game that are activated by people falling into booby traps like you. For this one, 6 people are needed to participate so you will stay here until three more people arrive. If you run out of time before three people arrive, you will all die. Additionally, I will not give you any information before the participants arrive.¡± Lucy explained calmly. The way she spoke was as if their lives or possible deaths were casual topics of discussion. The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. The way she¡¯s describing it makes the situation sound much worse than it is. The chance of three people not showing up out of the few hundred people here is very slim considering how the booby traps aren¡¯t very obvious to the average person. Unfortunately I don¡¯t have enough information to accurately predict when contestants will arrive so I can¡¯t plan ahead of time. Basically, all I can do is wait. ¡°Hey Onlooker person thingy I have a question.¡± Riveria said. ¡°What is it?¡± Lucy asked her. ¡°What happens if we starve to death? Won¡¯t we get any food while we wait?¡± Riveria asked. The room went completely silent. ¡°Riveria¡you do realize we don¡¯t get hungry in this tournament¡right?¡± Jack asked her in a dumbfounded tone. ¡°Wait we don¡¯t!?¡± Riveria exclaimed. ¡°He¡¯s correct, you cannot feel hunger or thirst during the tournament. If you could, you¡¯d be really damn hungry.¡± Lucy replied. ¡°Plus, even if you didn¡¯t know we couldn¡¯t feel hunger, shouldn¡¯t you be more concerned about water? After all, I read about how humans can live a lot longer without food but only a few days without water.¡± Loid added on. ¡°Oh yeah you guys are probably right.¡± Riveria says with a nervous smile while scratching her head. After that moment, a few hours passed as the group did numerous activities to keep themselves entertained. Rock paper scissors, making beats by hitting the floor, and talking about favorite foods were all different ways they kept themselves entertained. During a break between one of these moments Jack whispered instructions into Loid¡¯s ear. ¡°If at any point you find yourself one on one with the enemy, ignore all dialogue and shoot them before they do anything. Always disable the opponent before any negotiation or conversation.¡± Loid nodded in response and then the group began brainstorming what other things they can do to keep themselves entertained. ¡°What?! You¡¯ve never ramen before?! Loid, once this tournament thing is over I¡¯m gonna take you to get some ra-¡± Rivera then stops talking to turn her head to the new figures entering the area. ¡°Where the heck am I?¡± A red haired man asked while walking towards the group. Behind the man, two young women approached behind him. One had long blonde hair while the other had her brown hair in a bun. They all had confused looks on their faces as they looked around at their surroundings. They all have suits on just like everyone else who¡¯s not an Onlooker. Without a doubt, these new people are definitely contestants.
