《Rise of the Primal Emperor》 小hapter 1 A small town. Inside an old house, in a small room, a young man sat at his computer. He had dark brown hair and hazel eyes. His name was Derek, and he was 20 years old. Derek had been studying in college for three years. Since his family wasnt very wealthy, he worked two jobs after classes, leaving him with almost no free time. But during one of his rare breaks, he decided to sit down at his computer. "Finally, the game is installed. It had a massive advertising campaignlets see what its really like," Derek thought to himself. The game was an RPG called "Legendary King." It was about a hero who built his kingdom and fought enemies with magic and a sword. As soon as Derek launched the game, he felt the whole room tremble. "Whats happening? An earthquake?" Derek thought quickly. He was about to run out of the room when his computer monitor shone with a bright white light. A sharp pain hit his head, and he lost consciousness. Derek didnt know how much time had passed before he woke up. He got up from the ground, holding his head because of the pain, and looked around. "Where am I? What happened?" he thought. He realized he was in a jungle. Searching his memories, he recalled what had happened before. "How did I end up in a jungle?" Derek wondered. Once his headache subsided, he decided to take a closer look at his surroundings. "These arent normal jungles," Derek thought. He had never seen trees like these before. They were over 20 meters tall, with strange purple vines covered in thorns wrapping around them. Feeling a little panicked, Derek decided to stay in place for now and think about his next move. "This makes no senseI dont even live anywhere near a jungle. I need to find people," Derek thought. Choosing a random direction, he started pushing through the thick vegetation. After about ten minutes, he suddenly heard a deafening roar. Covering his ears with his hands, he looked in the direction of the sound. Whatever had roared wasnt farmaybe 200 meters ahead. Then, a second roar answered the first. Derek froze in fear. And then, suddenly, messages appeared before his eyes: [Skill Learned: Danger Detection] The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.[Skill Learned: Fear Resistance] Snapping out of his daze, Derek glanced at the glowing text, then immediately turned and ran back the way he had come. As he sprinted, another message appeared, but he didnt pay attention to it. [Skill Learned: Sprint] When he finally returned to the spot where he had woken up, he was gasping for breath. "What the hell is going on?! Were those monsters? And what were those messages?" Derek thought anxiously. Glancing in the direction where the roars and tremors continued, he decided to put that issue aside for now. He needed to get as far away as possible. As he ran, he spotted a rocky cliff not far from where he had first awakened. "Maybe theres a cave where I can hide?" Derek thought hastily. Quickly making his way toward the cliff, he pushed through the dense foliage for about five minutes, constantly checking for any sounds of the creatures. "It sounds like theyre fighting each other," Derek thought. When he reached the cliff, he examined it. It was over 100 meters tall and at least 200 meters wide. To his right, he noticed a small entrance to a cave. He approached cautiously but then stopped abruptly. "Wait what if this is some beasts den?" Derek thought. He decided to check the entrance for any animal tracks. Instead, he found a drawing of a campfire near the caves entrance. "People were here!" Derek thought with relief. Stepping inside carefully, he saw the remains of a burned-out fire, animal hides spread on the ground, and a few wooden spears leaning against the wall. Looking up, he noticed a small crack in the cave ceiling, allowing sunlight to filter in. Then, turning his attention to the walls, he saw strange symbols carved into the stone. As soon as he looked at them, another message appeared before his eyes: [New Language Discovered: Universal Tribal Language] "What the hell is this?" Derek thought in confusion. He reached out to touch the glowing text, but it dissolved before he could. "Is this just like in those novels?" Derek thought skeptically. Taking a deep breath, he hesitated before speaking. "Status?" he said uncertainly. And before his eyes, a status window appeared. [Welcome to the "Legendary King" System] [User Status] A gray notification appeared: [Territory Status (Unavailable)] Derek tapped on the "User Status" section, and a statistics window popped up before him. [User Name: Derek] [Race: Human] [Title: None] [Level: 0] [Experience: 0/10 XP] [Development Stage: None] [Health: 16/16 HP] [Stamina: 19/22 SP] [Spiritual Energy: 0/0 EP] [Kings Points: 0.0] [Attributes] Agility: 7 Endurance: 11 Strength: 8 Intelligence: 13 Spirit: 12 Free Attribute Points: 0 Below the status window, there were several sections: [Skills (+)] [Inventory (+)] [Quests (+)] [Shop (+) (Unavailable)] [Knowledge (+)] [Worlds (+) (Unavailable)] As Derek examined the status window and the various sections, the sounds of battle outside suddenly ceased. He turned his gaze toward the cave entrance. Deciding it would be safer to block the entrance, he looked around and spotted a large stone nearby. As he approached the entrance, the status window blurred and faded. Attempting to move the stone, Derek quickly realized that if he completely sealed the entrance, he wouldnt be able to move it back later. So instead, he pushed it just enough to cover part of the entranceenough to prevent any large creature from squeezing through. Struggling to shift the stone into place, he finally managed to do it and then slumped down onto the animal hide, letting out a deep sigh. "I need to figure out this system first then Ill decide what to do next," Derek thought to himself. Chapter 2 Derek looked at his status, pondering his next steps. [User Status] [Name: Derek] [Race: Human] [Ruler Title: None] [Level: 0] [Experience: 0/10XP] [Development Stage: None] [Health: 16/16 HP] [Stamina: 20/22 SP] [Spirit Energy: 0/0 EP] [Kings Points: 0.0] [Attributes] Agility: 7 Endurance: 11 Strength: 8 Intelligence: 13 Spirit: 12 Free Points: 0 "I think I should level up first," Derek thought. He decided to check his skills. Upon opening the tab, he saw two sections: passive and active skills. However, the active skills tab was grayed out, so he clicked on the passive skills. [Passive Skills] [Danger Detection C LVL 0] [Fear Resistance C LVL 0] [Sprint C LVL 0] Derek clicked on Danger Detection and a description appeared: [Skill: Danger Detection] Type: Passive Rarity: Rank 2 Experience: 6/10XP Description: Helps detect danger for the user. Three buttons appeared below: Upgrade, Convert XP, and Evolve. Derek pressed the first button, but a message popped up: [To upgrade this skill, it must have max XP and 2 Kings Points.] Finding it strange that upgrades required points, he tried converting XP instead. [Converting XP will consume 5 skill XP and grant 1 user XP. Conversion is available once per level. This novel is published on a different platform. Support the original author by finding the official source.Do you confirm? Yes/No] Derek thought for a moment, then pressed Yes. Checking his status again, he saw that his experience had changed from 0 to 1. Feeling a bit encouraged, he moved on to the next skill. [Skill: Fear Resistance] Rarity: Rank 3 Type: Passive Experience: 10/10XP Description: Increases resistance to fear effects. Since he had no Kings Points, he immediately converted the XP. [Converting XP will consume 10 skill XP and grant 3 user XP. Do you confirm? Yes/No] Derek confirmed and realized that higher rarity skills provided more XP. He then checked the last skill. [Skill: Sprint] Rarity: Rank 1 Type: Passive Experience: 10/10XP Description: Short-distance running boost. After converting its XP, he only gained 1 XP, confirming his theory. "Just 5 more XP, and Ill reach Level 1. I wonder what Ill get after leveling up," he thought excitedly. Next, he checked his Inventoryonly 10 empty slots were available. Disappointed, he moved on to the Missions tab, where two quests were listed. [First Quest] Description: Reach Level 1 Reward: 10 XP, 1 Kings Point, and unlock the Shop. [Second Quest] Description: Establish a Kingdom with at least 100 people. Reward: 1000 XP, 100 Kings Points, and unlock the Territory System. "So I really can become a king but I need to return home. My family will struggle without me," Derek thought sadly. He felt hopeful when he saw the Worlds tab, meaning there might be a way to return. However, he needed to unlock it first. The last section was Knowledge, which contained Blueprints, Recipes, Languages, and Techniques. Except for Languages, everything else was grayed out. Under Languages, all Earth languages were listed, but only English was unlocked. He found the Universal Tribal Language, which required 5 Kings Points to learncheaper than the other languages, which ranged from 7 to 10 points. After finishing his review, Derek decided to rest. It had been a long and exhausting day. Chapter 3 Derek lay on the fur for an hour but couldn''t fall asleep, so he decided to explore the cave in more detail. Inside, there were only furs and three spears. He picked one up and examined itit was clear it had been used many times. At that moment, a notification appeared. [Skill Learned: "Inspection"] Derek was slightly pleased and wondered what other skills he could learn. Looking at the spear in his hand, he began to swing it around. [Skill Learned: "Basic Spear Mastery"] He opened the skills window to check his new abilities. [Skill: "Inspection"] Type: Passive Rarity: Rank 1 Experience: 5/10XP Description: Allows the user to see the status of items and creatures. [Skill: "Basic Spear Mastery"] Type: Passive Rarity: Rank 2 Experience: 3/10XP Description: A beginner-level skill for handling a spear. Derek decided to max out their experience. He examined everything in the cavefurs, the fire pit, and the other spearsmaxing out the Inspection skill. Converting the experience gave him 1 XP, leaving him 4 XP away from Level 1. Next was the spear skill. Derek practiced swinging the spear for ten minutes until he maxed it out. After converting, he gained another 2 XPbringing him even closer to Level 1. Looking at the crack in the cave ceiling, he realized it was getting dark. He grabbed the spear and tried placing it in his inventory. The spear vanished from his hands and appeared in an inventory slot. When he clicked on its icon, a description popped up. [Spear] Damage: 5 Durability: 4/10 Quality: Rank 1 (Low) Description: A spear made of granite and wood, tied together with rope. You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version. Below were several buttons: [Take] [Exchange] [Study] [Upgrade] Derek first checked the Upgrade option. [Upgrade Cost: 1 Kings Point] After upgrading: Damage: 7 Durability: 15 Then he looked at Study. [For 1 Kings Point, you will receive a spear blueprint.] The Exchange option offered: [Exchange for 0.2 Kings Points] [Confirm] [Yes/No] Derek pressed No since he had little weaponry and decided to gather firewood instead. Squeezing through the entrance blocked by the rock, he walked ten meters to the trees and started collecting sticks, storing them in his inventory. A few minutes later, just as he was about to return, he heard a hissing sound. Turning toward the noise, he saw a 2-meter-long snake slithering toward him. Startled, he quickly pulled out his spear and pointed it at the snake. The snake lunged at his leg, but Derek struck its head with the spear. [Skill Learned: "Counterattack"] [Skill Learned: "Evasion"] The hit wasnt very strong, but the snake got scared and tried to escape into the bushes. Not wanting to let it go, Derek quickly ran up and stabbed it near the neck. [You have slain a Giant Python Hatchling.] [Gained 3 XP and 0.3 Kings Points.] [You have reached Level 1!] [Mission Completed!] [Reward: 10 XP and 1 Kings Point.] [Shop Unlocked!] Catching his breath, Derek checked the notifications and hurried back to the cave, taking the snakes corpse and placing it in his inventory. Once inside, he quickly opened his status. [User Status] [Name: Derek] [Race: Human] [Ruler Title: None] [Level: 1] [Experience: 11/20XP] [Cultivation Stage: None] [Health: 16/16 HP] [Stamina: 10/22 SP] [Spirit Energy: 0/0 EP] [Kings Points: 1.3] [Attributes] Agility: 7 (+) Endurance: 11 (+) Strength: 8 (+) Intelligence: 13 (+) Spirit: 12 (+) Free Points: 5 Derek sat on the fur, thinking about where to allocate his stat points. Deciding he didnt need Intelligence or Spirit for now, he put 3 points into Agility and the remaining 2 into Endurance. He immediately felt lighter and stronger. After a few practice swings with the spear, he got used to his increased speed and power. Finally, he decided to check the newly unlocked Shop section.
