《Hands on! A superhero Litrpg》 First year: chapter 1 Hanna Montgomery sat shocked at what was before her. She knew that today was the day. The oh so important day that an event so rare only 5 people would experience the wonder that was today. She wasn''t someone extraordinary or important. Just a college student, maybe a little neater than most, maybe a little awkward around people and she had a tendency to fidget. None of those things of course influenced the impossibility in front of her. The impossibility was not the jungle of leftover wrappers and piles of clothes that was unfortunately the usual state of her dorm room. It was not the paradoxically neat bed with a rather cute plushie of an anime character. It was not the computer open with an assignment finished a few days early instead of turned in at the literal last second, rare as that was. No. The impossibility that stood in front of Hanna Montgomery was a simple unordered, FLOATING!!!, Blue screen. Impossible. Of course it was impossible. the system wasn''t meant for the likes of her. Hanna knew this, and yet the world had seemed fit to take that knowledge and slap her in the face with its facade. Logically she knew that there were documented cases of people like her being chosen by the system. Heck, one of the most powerful Empowerds in the world was like her. Regardless of the facts, nay in spite of the facts. Hanna had been one of the 5 chosen of the year. In that exceptionally rare honor, she made up an even rarer percentage. Because in the entire recorded history of the systems appearance The percentage of those chosen by the system who had mental or physical disabilities made Up less than 1 % of all chosen. Hanna was autistic, making her a part of that 1%. An impossibility made flesh.
Name: Hanna Montgomery Power: N/A Stats: Meta: 0 Physical: 0 Control: 0 Conceptual: 0 Influence: 0 Free Points: 50 Buffs: Mental Disability detected [Doubled Points] applied. Debuffs: No significant advantage detected. Debuffs not applied.
Hanna just stared at the screen. She read it. Then read it again. Looked over to her clock which was suspiciously still at 8:30 am despite the fact that it had been 8:30 ten minutes ago. Then she began to process everything. The shock had faded and was now replaced with excitement. She had been chosen! Her! Now the question was, what power did she make? Her first instinct Was to create a big flashy power, she quickly threw that notion away. Most Books on Empowerds made it clear that doing so often led to hasty powers. Once you made a power you couldn''t make Another. You were stuck with it. ¡°Come on, we''re better than this! We have a bachelor''s in this and working on a doctorate.¡± She decided to go over what she knew about stats and check her knowledge with that of the various academic books scattered about her apartment as if they were victims of a shooting. Physical representated how much a power was physical in nature. Fire and Ice. Forcefield. Matter. Anything and everything that was physically present needed To have the corresponding stat in physical. Meta was the aspect of power that represented The non physical. Unassisted Flight as the example everyone knew. Control was how much control you had over your power. Things like how fast, whether your power could change colors, size, shape.Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit. Conceptual meant that the power either involved, manipulated, or had components of Concepts such as Time, luck, destiny, etc. Information was any component of the power that involved gaining information through supernatural means. Influence was components of a power that either influenced others or influenced powers. She checked her knowledge twice and nodded to herself ¡°yep seems about right¡. And I still can''t decide." she groaned. Because it wasn''t just creating power. There was one more rule. ¡°law of sovereignty: no one can create a power that has either existed or already exists. ¡° she recited almost like a mantra. It was one of the few things to have been written as scientific law. In other words she didn''t just have to create a power. She had to create a power no one else had made before. Consider this. 5 people were chosen per city of any country once a year. So, creating a power no one else made was going to be difficult to say the least. She had obviously tried to create a power that helped with her personal problems. Unfortunately, as she well knew, she couldn''t create a power that in any way effectively removed her autism. No powers that let her see emotions or understand people on a supernatural level. At least the system gave her double points. "100% worth having a lifelong disability. " She thought sarcastically. ¡°Come on, think. Think!!... Wait, I know what I want!¡± So she got to work. Once upon a time in high-school she had been known by her DnD Group as mage hand Hanna. A name given to her because of her obsession Of only using mages hand, even having a class created specifically around using mages hand. It took her ten minutes to get her loose ideas in order and once she did she began to make requests of the system. It costed a total of 20 points in physical to create her base power. 10 points had gone into the ability to create force constructs in the form of working Hands which could carry out various tasks. 5 was the cost to be able to create more hands. The Final 5 points were to guarantee That the hands would each be able to lift around 30 pounds. She then paid 2 points in meta to grant the hands the ability to float Above ground freely. And 8 points for the hands to be able to sense and see their environments. Finally She added 20 points into control. It was a stat that didn''t grant powers but instead determined how much control you had over the power. She''d opted for putting the 20 points in instead of adding in anymore functions with the gamble that such a high starting control would remove the need for a bunch of functions.
Helping hands: the power to create floating hands made of force that can carry out various tasks when ordered to. Hands may be created once per minute by focusing on their creation. Each hand is equipped with a tactile sense that can be used to perceive the environment. This information is sent back telepathically to the user. Do you wish to make this power your own? Yes/ No Warning: once power is chosen it cannot be changed.
She clicked on the yes and time resumed. Hanna got to work immediately on creating the hands. She half expected nothing to happen only to wake up and find out this was all a dream. After exactly a minute passed a hand made of a red solid material appeared floating just above the ground. Almost giddy she order to float higher, lower, to pick a nearby dirty shirt and decided to test out a few things. After 4 minutes she had five hands ready to do her bidding. She tested them out by having them carry various such as lift dirty shirts and put them into the laundry bin. She then ordered a single hand to go to the pile of dishes that had become her sink and clean them. This confirmed that she didn''t need to physically see a hand in order for it to carry. The hand also understood the order and didn''t need her constant supervision or orders to do the task. Although the moment it touched a single dish she regretted this desicion as she felt what the hand felt. That meant that she felt the course soap and the uncomfortable feeling of running water, soap, and dirty dishes. She almost ordered the hand to stop before remembering that the dishes had been piling up like that for a month and she should probably just let the hand finish. Gritting her teeth she played some music on her phone sprawled lazily on the bed as her handy minions cleaned her dorm for her. Once the very hard and stressful work of being a bed potato was finished she let a grin plaster her face. "Experiments" The first experiment involved placing a set of weights which had collected so much dust from disuse that it had taken the hands and entire roll of paper towels to clean. A part of her knew she should probably actually use them on herself at some point. However, that felt like a problem for future her. She started with the 5 pounds increasing the weight by 5 pounds each time one of the hands successfully lifted it. Repeating this for this each revealed they could each lift exactly 35 pounds. Anything higher and the hands wouldn''t be able to even budge them. Further testing had revealed that each hand working together increased this by 35 pounds. First year chapter 2. Hanna looked at the would be robber as her floating hands carried the very healthy groceries behind her. They had protien and good stuff.... probably. They tasted good so clearly they were good for you. The logic seemed sound. The man was a white wirey man with his lower face covered by a green scarf and his eyes bloodshot. Probably on drugs or maybe it was lack of sleep? Hanna could never tell the difference. All she knew was that people were not soppossed to Rob stores. It was wrong. It was against the rules. It was not okay. So, she politely spoke up. "Hey! Guns are for hunting deer not people." She said matter of factly at the man. It was an adage her dad had taught her when he had attempted to teach her gun safety. Most of the lesson she hadn''t really remembered, but she did remember that one and told everyone whenever the topic of guns came up. "Shut your stupid mouth bitch!!!" That was rude. Hanna remembered a second saying of her father''s. "If someone''s rude to you. Fuck them up." She recited and the robber just turned around to look at her. In that same moment she had the hands drop off her groceries neatly on the ground before they all swarmed the man. 2 grabbed his legs. 2 grabbed the arm holding the gun. While the final hand grabbed him by the head. In a matter of seconds he was rendered immobile floating in the air. He let out so many curse words that one might think he was speaking a foreign language made up only of curse words. "You stupid retarded whore!!! Let me go!!! Do you know who I am?'' Hanna for her part simply walked up to him and took off his scarf and looked at his face. She thought he might look a little... nope. Nothing. She did not know this guy. She''d remember someone as ugly as him. "I''m autistic not retarded. And no I don''t know you. I''d remember someone with such a u...boring face." She told him as If she were just discussing the weather. He just stared blankly. Struggled uselessly against the corporeal hands keeping him restrained before sagging in defeat. "Fuck you." He almost sobbed out. "No. You''re not my type." Hanna decided she should be less rude. He should at least know why she wasn''t interested. "Your tall but it just makes you look a human noodle. Your hair is greasy. Your forehead is covered in pimples Your rude. You tried to Rob a store. And your too lazy to actually wear a proper mask. Plus you stink." She rattled off various things about him that made him unattractive to her while the man eventually broke down into sobs. Now she felt bad... "Uhhhh don''t cry? I''m sure there''s girls.... or guys... you might have an easier chance with guys....not much of a chance." Her attempts at placating the helpless would be robber had not been successful and the man almost jumped into the police car as it finally made its appearance and Hanna allowed him to go free once the cops assured her they had it all in hand. Robbery averted she orderd her hands to pick up the groceries as she had them set down on the counter. Crises or not there was nothing in the world more important then soda and honeybuns. Oh, and video games. Homework was somewhere at the very bottom of the list. A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation. Mister Dreys was the owner of the little gas station that sat almost right next to the student housing. He was an older man with a handle bar mustache and a balding head. His normally kind and gentle eyes were replaced with wide ones that practically screamed a mix of horror and increduality. An expression that was completely lost on Hanna. "Hello Mister Dreys, how is your day going?" Hanna asked her usually greeting. It was simple and polite. Mister Dreys didn''t really respond and it was starting to annoy Hanna. She asked him how his day was. He was supposed to say that it was good and then she good pay for her groceries. Instead he just kept staring at her. Did she have something on her face? Should she smile? Did she do something wrong? A million different thoughts began to go through her head. Over analyzing the quite. "Uh, you can just take this. It is on house." The man said after a solid minute or two. His voice heavy with a thick Russian accent and he just smiled and awkward smile at her. Hanna for her part thanked him and immediately walked off with her free groceries thanking him as she practically ran for the door. She needed to get out fast before he changed his mind. Free groceries meant she had more. More money meant more games. Ergo run as fast you can before Mister Dreys changed his mind. Once she was solidly on campus grounds she slowed down. The campus was a large area. With various buildings each for different circulates all designed with a theme in mind. The school had even been built by a Merchant. Merchants were Empowerds who chose to use their powers for finical gain rather then become a hero or villain. Their were buildings designed to look like brains with little bits of electric coming off of various "nerves" on the roof. That was were things like cyber security, computer programing, engineering, and other tech related classes were held. Near it sat what looked like an ever expanding skyscraper were achetecture and it''s relevant courses were held. Finally their was a building that looked like a museum with over hundred statues each a well known super hero. It was were Hannas courses were held. Empowered studies. The Edward''s college was known for its comprehensive courses and it''s Empowered studies course was the best in the world. If it weren''t for her father''s friends helping her she wouldn''t even be able to afford to take the course. The student housing was less impressive. Being a large selection of tasteful apartments made with brick and "protected" by iron fences. She quickly made her way to her apartment. She ordered her hands to grab the blanket from her bed while she got to work setting up the Ps8. It was a small device. And outdated. Every year Pwaystation put out a new system. The result of having no less then 5 merchant engineer''s at work. The ps8 was 5 generations lower. Still it could play elden souls online. Firm softwares only successful attempt at an mmo. Mainly because it had a single player mode. No one really played the multi-player mode. It was filled to the brim with live service bullshit. The single player mode could be played offline, so no bullshit. She our the hands on what she called cleaning mode. Apparently if she gave them an order they would continue to full full that order automatically which was useful. Especially since the trash can was soooo far and she was fighting a really difficult boss. She just didn''t have the time to pick up after herself. "Aaarrrggg fucking fuck you!!!! Why do you get 2!? How the hell is that fair? There shouldn''t be 2!!!!!" She screamed feeling the anger welling up inside. She really did try to calm down but the act of trying to calm down only made the anger worse. 5 minutes later she sighed as she looked over the remains of what had once been a controller. "I need to stop playing elden souls." She said outloud as she grabbed another controller and began playing elden souls once more. It was right when she was about to deal the final attack on Rebeca the queen of rot. A boss that had 2 phases. 2 copies of herself. And could heal by attacking the character. A fight that had taken 3 whole days to get this close when her door was caved in. This caused her to miss a dodge and she just sat frozen as her character died. A large hulking figure loomed in the wreckage of her door. 8 feet of pure undiluted muscle looked angrily at Hanna. She turned towards the picture of calm. "You made my character die." She said coldly. "You got my brother arrested bitch." He said in a growled. "YOU MADE ME LOOSE AGAINST REBECA!!!" She yelled. She was going to fuck up this intruder. She swore it on her soul. Year one: chapter 3 Hana looked at the intruder. The bastard who had cost her 3 DAYS of effort. The rage boiling just beneath her skin begging for a release from their flesh prison. She took a step back. Her dad''s lessons whispering in her mind. Get distance, evaluate and assess the enemy. So she did just that. He was big, strong obviously, but his posture and stance didn''t seem like that of someone with training. The second lesson was to check her souroundings catalog what she could use. Which wasn''t much, she wasn''t really willing to use her TV or game station as she''d litterly rather die then loose them. That left the knives, dishes, and various pots and pans in the kitchen. A single chair. Blankets and clothes in her bedroom. It wasn''t a lot but it was what she could think of. A few plans on how to use them formulated in her mind. She could have the hands tie the blankets around the brute. She orderd one of the hands in the kitchen to turn on the stove and place one of her skillets on it. Various other plans came to mind but she narrowed it down to 5. She needed to have a clear goal in mind. What was she willing to do? She didn''t want to kill the intruder but she knew to leave the option open incase things escalated beyond a fight. Her goal was to hurt, not to kill. Maybe break a few bones. She orderd the hand with the pot to attack the intruder. The red glowing hand zipped over, holding a pot which hana could feel the heat through the telepathic link. It curved like a baseball and slammed the pot right into the intruders cheek. The man let out a shriek of pain as his skin immediately turned red around the pan. Then a strange thing happend. The intruder grew larger, his muscles bulged. It wasn''t by much but still enough to be noticeable. "Oh shit" She barely had enough time to duck as his massive hand attempted to punch her face in. Instead his hand hit the wall next to her. Cracking the plaster were it hit. She had to pivot as his other hand shot out to grab her by the neck. It was a close thing and Hanna was already sweating as adrenaline coursed through her. She gave an order to the hand and it moved the hot pan slowly upward. Up to his eye. The intruder howled as his right eye burned. Once again growing bigger. He had gone from 8 ft to 9ft with his muscles large enough to rival tires. His speed had increased as well as Hanna had to keep ducking and doging and pivoting in rapid succession. The guy didn''t even seem to be growing tired. Eventually she faltered as fatigue began to set in. She had just enough time to put her hands up in front of her head as the intruders massive fist collided with her body. The force of the strike was strong enough to send her flying into her dining room. She landed on a chair breaking it under her weight. She groaned as a second later the pain hit her. Her arms ached but at least they weren''t broken. This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. She knew the pain would probably be a lot worse if it weren''t for the fact that she was less sensitive to physical pain. Although she paradoxically couldn''t handle being hot or itchy. Quirks were Quirks and in this case it happend to be an advantage. She stood up just in time to dodge to the side as the man''s fist hit the ground. Punching a hole into the floor. Her arms were barely respond and she was all ready tired. Her feet shaked as she stood up only for the man to charge forward and grab her by the throat. Hanna struggled and kicked at the man to no effect. The guy was just to strong. She orderd the hand that was still holding the pot on the man''s eye, to drop the pot and go for his groan. The man let out a gasp and dropped her as the corpeal hand squeezed. "You. Fucking. Bitch." He let out in pained groans and gasps. Hanna replied with high five to the face followed by an uppercut from her left hand. He predictably grew larger, but it stopped being an advantage as his head now reached the ceiling forcing him hunch his body. She went for a jab at his face only for him to swiftly grab her arm. The strength of his grab was strong enough to have her bones groaning from the pressure. He then squeezed and Hanna felt something break in her arm. He let go with a vicious smirk. "Heh. Lets you fight with only one arm you bi" he never got to finish that sentence as Hanna slammed her broken arm into the man''s face. Two hands emerged from her bedroom carrying large ropes made from blankets, sheets, and clothes. She ordered them to wrap it around the intruders neck and pull. The man tried desperately to swing at the hand but they were to fast for him and he started making choking noises as the makeshift rope was pulled tight around his throat. She started punching him. Punctuating each hit with an enraged voice. "You. SMACK. Made. SMACK. Me.. SMACK. LOOSE!!!" She continued to punch at him as he tried to rip the hand off his crotch and ineffectual swat at the hand holding the rope tight. Neither attempt succeeded and even his constant growing in size hadn''t managed to rip apart the fabric, though the fabric was straining. She punched. And punched. And punched. When her right couldn''t even move any more she moved to her left and punched more. She kept punching until the cops showed up and pulled her away. She struggled even as the pain of her shattered arms made black spots appear in her vision. Was this an overreaction? Maybe one might say it was childish. Maybe it had been taken to far? It was not her who started the fight. It was not her who had first thrown attacks that could have easily killed her. Did she go to far? Only in escalation to a threat to her life. Was her anger unjustified? What if someone took a cherished item and broke it front of you. Imagine that Item was a goal that you had spent days trying to achieve. What if that thing was the only thing in the world that brought you fun and joy. Either way she was quickly taken to the hospital. Either way she was questioned by the police. And the consequences of her actions could be seen by the double casts on her arm. Shed payed for her rage one might say. It was with these thoughts running through her head as she was held in the questioning room of the police. A dark uncomfortable room with a glaring light and a single metal table. The only furnishing two uncomfortable iron chairs that had Hanna deciding to stand rather then sit. That the man walked in. The man who would change her life. The man in the suit with a name tag "Jordan Rift" Heroes Associatio. Year 1 chapter 4 Hanna looked at the intruder. He wore what was probably meant to be a reassuring smile, but just came off as fake and set her on edge. His suit was crisp and he carried a briefcase with him. One might even think he was lawyer visiting his client. In this case he was more like a lawyer about to draft someone into the army. "Hello miss Montgomery. Mind if I take a seat?" The man asked in a polite voice. Hanna immediately did not like this guy. Everything about him just set her off, she couldn''t really understand why but everything the guy did made her uneasy. "Uh I guess? Not really sure why you''d ask." The man for his part took that in stride without trying to explain himself which Hanna found relieving. It was always annoying hearing someone go on a long winded explanation of why they did something. She was not in the mood to say "I understand" or "okay" to a conversation she wouldn''t even follow. The man took the seat opposite of Hanna. He pulled out various files before neatly placing them on the desk. "Let''s see. Use of power without proper license. Use of power against a civilian without proper license. Powered Assualt. Deadly use of a power without proper authorization to do so. Not registering yourself with the Empowerd Association. Committing theft as an empowered." The man puased giving the now very nervous Hanna. What was going on? Why was he just spouting out things? Was she being charged? Would she be sent to prison? What was going to happen to her? "These are just the charges that would be labeled against you if we only included the illegal use of powers. There''s a litany of other non powered related charges. Do you understand your situation?" Hanna nodded her throat suddenly feeling dry. Was she going to prison? She didn''t want to go to prison! She''d just been defending herself! "The heroes Association is willing to intervien and have all charges dropped on the condition that you attend the Heroes Certifcation program for at least 2 years. It''s a wonder-" "No." Hanna cut him off. Coldly. She did not want to become a hero. "No? Might I ask why?" The man replied an eyebrow raised. "I''m not interested in becoming a hero. My dad never wanted that for me and said as much. So, no." The man did not reply. He simply began to gather his papers. Neatly stacking them before he replied. "Then I wish you the best of luck. The offer stands until I walk out that door." "Thanks. I guess I''ll be going to court." Hanna said without much emotion. The man chuckled at this and the suddeness of it made the unprepared Hanna flinch back. Why was he laughing? Did she say something funny? "Oh... there won''t be a court case. Miss Montgomery you clearly don''t understand your situation." Hanna looked at him. Confused, frustrated. What the hell was this guy on about. "Title 6 of the National Disabilities act in regards to individuals with disabilities who develop powers will be declared mentally unfit if any criminal charges are levied against them. You would be remanded without trail to an empowered Mental Health facility." He looked her in the eyes letting it sink in. "So. You can accept my offer and join the ranks of heroes. The deal also grants many privileges and concessions rarely given to students. Or you can selfishly spend the rest of your days in the care of others while people may die or suffer when they may have been saved." Hanna just sat there. Unable to process. She didn''t want to be a hero. She also didn''t want to have everything she worked for taken. She''d worked to become independent. She wasn''t perfect, but she''d worked hard to get to were she was. Now she could loose it all because of some bullshit law? "I''ll... Take it." She said meekly. Defeated. "You''ll take our deal?" Hanna nodded. And the man began to unstack the papers. "Then I''ll just need you sign these papers once you''ve had the chance to read over them. Would you like anything to drink?" She politely declined as she started signing the paper work. By the time she finished the stack. The man brought in 4 more stacks without so much as an apology. Seriously was she expected to read all of it? By the time she finished 3 whole stacks, which was a litany of various boring legalize Hanna remembered that she had conjured hands and by this point and started having them sign things in record speed. Reading on this site? This novel is published elsewhere. Support the author by seeking out the original. It had taken what felt like an entire day but had actually been more like 4 hours. It was fortunate that Hanna was a quick reader or she suspected that it might have actually taken 8 hours or more. " I hate you and your bureaucracy." She stated to the man when she finished with the last of the documents. The man replied by handing her a grocery bag. Curious Hanna inspected it and found to her joy candy, mtn dews, two video games, and a new controller. "HOWEVER I understand that forgiveness is a virtue." She quickly backtracked. "How wonderful of you. Will you need transportation to the school? Don''t worry about your things the Academy has already begun the process of moving things to your new dorm." Hanna blinked at him before replying "I can''t drive." This was all way to fast. She had been expecting to at least have a few days. They wanted her to go now? "Then transportation will be provided. You haven''t eaten have you?" Hanna gave a slow shake of her head not really sure we''re this was going. Then in a snap she was dry retching as the world became a kaleidoscope of colors and images and infinite realities each following its own laws. Then all at once the images disappeared and she found herself in a large hall. The hall was massive with a plush carpet and statues of various heroes each with a plaque detailing the heroes names. Hanna simply stared around and nodded. This was certainly in line with how the last few days had gone. The man lead her through the hallways some containing what was clearly classrooms though most seem to exist solely to be labyrinthine in nature. Eventually they made it to a small reception area. "I''m afraid this is were I leave you. I have some business to take care of. And you have an orientation to get through." With that Hanna found herself in a strange place. In a situation she had not wanted. With no escape. The only Highlight of the day was a simple message that had appeared the morning after the fight.
Congratulations! You have earned 5 points. points: 5 (x2) Total free points ten.
She took a seat on one of the leather couches that anyone who had to wait in reception would be familiar with. She wasn''t sure which direction to go. She thought about the fight she had been in and a thought had come to her. What if she had never had to set up the pot but instead could conjure elemental hands. It would give her more options if... when she got into a combat situation. Her second idea was to give the hands some kind of intelligence. That way the hands wouldn''t need her to give them constant orders and could act autonmisly. She was about to put input both ideas into the system but was interrupted when a young women with short cropped hair and a formal suit called out her name. "Hanna Montgomery? The headmaster is ready to see you. The women wasted no time escorting her to the a small but comfortable office. Both walls were covered in book shelfs with impressive looking names and tittles. The room was furnished with the usual plush leather chairs. "You''ve never read any of the books." Hanna stated at an older man who sat patiently at his desk. The desk was your generic desk. Stack of paper, fancy looking pens, and a laptop open. "No unfortunately they are mostly for decoration. Helps to convince students I''m smarter the I am. We can keep that secret between me and you ay?" The man replied jovial in a loud voice that made Hanna want to cover her ears. Hanna simply nodded. She was honestly starting to feel overwhelmed and just wanted to get through all of this and recharge. Preferably somewhere isolated. Without people. With lots of snacks. "I suspect that your feeling overwhelmed and with your..difficulties in mind I suspect you would prefer If I was blunt and to the point." He puased and Hanna just stared after nearly a minute had passed in awkward silence she realized she was supposed to respond. "Yes." The Headmaster took that in stride and responded. "You may find the methods we use heavy handed and that is for a reason. That reason is the double point buff. In nearly all cases of someone with a severe mental or physical disability the system awards them that buff. "Which makes all of them targets for villains. In the past they have even broken into mental health facilities to kidnap people like you." He puased allowing Hanna time to process that information before she nodded in acknowledgement. " This is why we do everything we can to get you here. This academy is one of the most defended places on earth, few armies could even hope to take it and would suffer dearly for it. Having said all of this you do have a choice to make." He then proceeded to pull out 2 papers from the drawer in his desk before placing them down with a dramatic flair. "The paper on your right is a voluntary admission to the academies mental health facility. It is one of the best in the world and I suspect you''d be comfortable. However, you would have very limited freedoms and would rarely be allowed to leave the campus ground except on the yearly holiday trips. This would be for your own safety." He gave her a few minutes to properly process that information before he moved to the explanation of the other paper. "On your left is a student admission form. You would admitted into the Academy for the heroes Certifcation program. Approved accommodations would already be applied. These acomdations on the academic end would be extra time on written exams and homework. Verbal reminders to stay on task. On the training end, coaches would offer you extra training as well as a mandatory sensory training." "On the life spectrum of things. Should you choose this route you will be granted your own dorm room rather then required to share it. You would also have monthly mental and physical exams. You would be allowed to leave Academy grounds as long as you get a year 2 or above student to escort you." Hanna took her time and the headmaster didn''t complain. He simply waited patiently for her to make her choice. "If I choose the student... will I be allowed to leave the academy?" He didn''t react or give away anything and simply smiled before replying. "If you make it to second year you will be allowed to leave the academy and live your life free of restraints. As you will be determined to be capable of defending yourself." Hanna sped up and practily lit the paper on fire with the speed at which she signed the left paper. "I''ll have a student give you a tour then" One choice made Hanna had a second choice to make. She looked at the screen and found that both choices for powers would cost her 10 points. She really wanted both and spent the whole time agonizing over the descion before she eventually chose. Just in time for whirey man with loose blond hair to practically appear right next to her. "Hey names mike! Your Hanna right?" Year 1 chapter 5 Hanna like most people on the spectrum was not a fan of someone approaching and touching her from behind. "Oh fuck!" Her reaction was to pull her head forward and attempt to slam her head into the intruder of her space. She felt a strange shift of air, not like the air had moved but rather that the air had somehow moved faster? It was a strange feeling. Hanna whiped her head around towards the boy with the sandy blond hair and her glared her most ferocious glare. It wasn''t very effective. In fact she saw that softening expression she hated so much practically glowing on the man''s face. Like a neon sign saying "I think your adorable." She didn''t even know who this guy was but she immediately decided she didn''t like him. "Uh sorry about that dudete. I was just trying to say hello, shouldn''t have gotten behind you like that." He said sheepishly. "A mtn dew" she replied. Her forgiveness came only in bribes. "Uh. You want one? Uh I can go get you one from the vending machine if ya want one." He said with that voice that was one part Texan, one part city, and one part surfer. It was a voice that just did not work. It wasn''t grating so much as it was weird. The man came back with two cans of mtn dew and Hanna nabbed hers out of his hand like a cat might swipe a favorite toy out of its owners hand. She then started to gulp it down and in a matter of seconds drank it down like the hard-core gamer that she was. "My names Hanna." She told the sandy haired boy. "Joshua. Hey if you don''t mind me asking. How long have you had powers?". "2 days." "Are you from a warzone?" "No." "Are you poor?" "No. My dad''s friends give me a stipend every month for food and stuff that is definitely not games and in fact very ummm important to my living.... functions." "...." Hanna looked at Joshua puzzled. Why was he asking her so many random questions. Joshua looked left and right before whispering just loud enough for Hanna to hear. "Are you like in danger?" He asked and Hanna just shook her head starting to get a little annoyed at all of Joshua''s questioning. "Then how are you at 60 points? I''ve been an empowered for 2 years and I only have 50!" He cried out in exasperation. "I have doubled points" Hanna replied before her mind coukd catch up to what she just said. "Doubled... points." He said as he put on a weird almost grin. Hanna replied with a polite smile. Joshua went through the five stages of grief all with that strange grin. Denial followed by anger which quickly faded to bargaining after he noticed her fidgeting and came to certain conclusions. He begged the system for the same treatment only for silence. Depression. Then finally acceptance that yes the world was unfair and he just had to live in. Behind Hanna polite smile was the same repeating mantra. "Ifuckeduphehatesifuckeduphehatesmeifuckeduphehatesmewhyisntherespondingdidiruinitallwilleveryonehatemenoohgodifuckedup!!!" A string of anxiety induced thoughts repeating over and over. Both were completely unaware of the others suffering as the silence dragged on. And on. Aaaaand on. Until eventually Joshua realized that Hanna was not going to be the one to start talking first. "So uh I''m soppossed to show to your room dude. Uh just follow me I guess." "Ifuckedupifuckedup..." her thoughts immediately came to halt when he finally spoke up. Hanna was relived and her mind started to relax a bit. She silently followed him through the grand hallways towards an open doorway which lead outside into green well cared for grounds. Hanna could not even see a single weed or out of place blade of grass and appreciated how neat it looked. It reminded her of an interesting fact. "Interesting fact: did you know the system doesn''t create biological matter? If it has to It creates psuedo biology, but it''s all made of unknown materials." She said this all in a manic rush of information. "Uh that''s cool I guess." Joshua replied taken aback by the random comment. He was starting to wonder if he''d made some kind of mistake agreeing to escort the girl. He''d almost been head butted and been forced to go through the 5 stages of grief. Still, it was better then having to attend another lecture of medicine and treatment. "Also also! Did you know that artificers can''t create biological tech. Even those capable of making clones have to do so through bionics. No one knows why, but a really interesting theory is that the system might have been designed by an entirely bionic race. Although it''s incredibly unlikely. It''s still fun to think about right?" She asked and spoke with the same enthusiasm a child might have if they discussed magic tricks to a parent. If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. "Uhhhhhh.... space sharks!!" Joshua replied. "Space... sharks?" Hanna asked her voice taking an edge of confusion and clearly miffed at being interrupted. "Yep! Is clearly space sharks. They just like made the system one day so they could sorta watch and use us to make more powers." "No! That''s so dumb!!!" She replied with actual genuine outrage. "There''s no backing for that! In fact the system clearly hates actual biology so it can''t be sharks because sharks are living things!!!" "Nah man. It''s space sharks." Joshua replied with a smug look that made Hanna angrier!!! "No! Your uuuuuggg!!!" She screamed a kicked a nearby chair in anger and immediately regretted it. Nearby her now intelligent hands did a sort of buzzing motion showing they they were agitated but calmed down after about a minute as Hanna cursed her now her hurting foot. She heard a stifled chuckled and swiftly turned around to glare angrily at the offending person. Hanna debated the benefits of murder but upon seeing the open field she decided murder could wait, Halloween was just a month away.... it did spark some inspiration. "Uh why do you look like your plotting my demise?" "No reason!!" She quickly replied. Plot murders when alone she noted to herself as Joshua escorted her to what was the dorms. The dorms were situated near the school and were largely squat buildings, they weren''t quite brutalist but they came close and stood in stark contrast with the lavish and impressive school. Hanna got mental whiplash as she looked at unimpressive concrete building then looked at the lavish school with its tasteful brick and wood exterior. "The dorms suck" Joshua just shrugged and nodded in agreement. "Yeah. Apparently it was a spite thing. One of the people in charge of building the dorms wanted them to be inside the school. Argument broke out. Well... you can see the result." Hanna for her part nodded while she idly tapped the casts on her arms. They were made from nanno mesh like most medical equipment and so she could still move her arm around and perform basic tasks. The better part of nanno was that they drastically sped up the healing process. Her arms would be most fine by tomorrow if a bit sore. "So come on in. In supposed to give you like a tour, so there''s a breakroom were you can totally just sit back and watch a movie or something. There''s also a gym but most people just use the one in the school. There''s a DnD club on Saturdays if your into that sorta thing." He rattled all of this off and Hanna just sorta stopped paying attention and entered her own heads pace. Perfectly zoned out she barely even noticed as they made it to her dorm. "Finnally here''s you dorm. Huh.... we''re are your mates? They should be here to greet you." He looked around and checked the number then looked at the empty room with 4 doors. A kitchen. And a small living area with a TV stand. "Maybe their running late?" He asked obviously not expecting an answer. He got one anyways. "Who?" "Uh well normally your doom mates are supposed to greet you and there''s pizza and all that stuff. Uh who''s your mates I can try and call them see what''s taking them." "Mates? I don''t have any." "No?" "Yes." "Your serious?" "Yes." "So this whole dorm room is yours?" He asked with that sorta half grin that she was starting to get really annoyed with. Seriously what was that damn expression soppossed to mean? Smiles meant happy. Snarls meant angry. And frowns meant sad. Except there was like 15,000 other expression and it was a coin flip if Hanna could figure it out. Half grin? Was he halfway happy? Was he halfway angry? What did it mean!!!! "Of course you do. Well.... Uh give me one sec" he pulled out his smart phone and started making a few calls while Hanna explored her new room. She dubbed the room closest to the door to he the study room so she could escape from it when she didn''t want to study anymore. She dubbed the room closest to the fridge the game room so she wouldn''t be far from the snacks. Finnally she dubbed the last 2 rooms as emergency gaming rooms. Satisfied she sat on the floor as she opened up her screen. Her hands congregating around her as if to ward her of any potential dangers.
Aspect: Good boys!! Your hands now have an intelligence of their own. They can carry out basic tasks on their own initiatives! Intelligence is determined by number of points added to this aspect. Points added: 0 Points needed for upgrade: 10 Current level of intelligence is equivalent to a smarter breed of dog or cat.
That explained why they seemed to stick to her as if guarding her. She''d also noticed more then a few of the now 10 hands she''d made during the hospital had simply wandered off getting engrossed in gross and other tactile sense. "Okay got some people coming!!! Don''t worry your not going without a welcome party on my watch. Uncle Joshua''s got you covered!!!" PARTY!!!??? all of Hannas instincts told her to flee. To run her very life and not stop running! Parties were social interactions. Social interactions were bad. "Uh... you don''t have to do that!" "Nah man it''s good. Don''t worry!" He said clearly not getting the hint. Dammit!!! Subtlety had failed and now the only option left was retreat. She made a break for the door as her hands buzzed around her with irrational. Only to bump into a group of people that had just walked up the stairs to get to her dorm. They carried pizzas, soda, and even some clearly not allowed drinks. It was too late the party had come and she was doomed. She dejectedly walked back and prepared for death. That damned Joshua looked at her with a wide obvious grin as people came in and set pizzas on the island that sat near the kitchen. The group was made up of a large man with grave gray toned skin who carried two coolers and was followed by 3 girls who were chatting to eachother as they walked in. How long had she been out of it!? There was no way he got 4 people already here with pizzas and drinks. Then more people started to walk in. First it was 2. Then 3 more. Then another 4 all mostly girls until the place was almost to crowded to move around in. "Hello hello!!! It''s super ultimate nice to meet you! My names Taylor!!! My super hero name is Super Ultra!!! Joshy said you like mtn dew? I brought a super mega ammount." Mtn dews? The green hoard upon which even forgiveness lay? She felt the rays of hope. That just maybe this impromtu unplanned social event might not be so bad. This was confirmed when she saw that the island was lush with a bounty of pizza, mtn dew, candy, chips, and other foods. She was munching on the food before anyone else could even touch it. Year 1: chapter 6 The party went on for some time as Hanna mostly just watched cat videos on her phone While absentmindedly shoveling junk food into her mouth. Her hands floated around scanning the floors and walls and navigated the crowded apartment with surpirsing ease as they picked up trash and places it in a nearby trashcan. Hanna had spent whatever focus she had on generating more hands and had come to realize certain things about her powers. Number one: the hands could share senses and something almost like memory. 2nd: her hands had amazing reaction time as despite how crowded it was, they had somehow managed not to bumb into anyone. Hanna gave it some thought as to why as the cute imagery of kittens playing filled the screen of her phone. Powers had rules to them that defined exactly how they worked. Points simply allowed you to control and define the direction of those. Creating the rules yourself. Even then the system would often employ rules that applied a disadvantage or advantage that didn''t show up on the screen. This essentially meant that not all powers were equal. This was especially true for Hanna who had double the number of points available to create her power with. Aspects helped to improve powers further by essentially adding new functions to your power these functions unlike your base ability could be improved to provide better and better results. "Okay everybody!!! It''s time for the show and tell!" A loud voice which shook Hanna from her musings and she had a mini freak out as she tried to figure out what was going on. She noticed the crowd starting to head outside and Hanna awkwardly followed along pretending like she definitely knew what was going on. The crowd eventually found it''s way to a nearby domed buildings. Small and based on the dirt flooring, the weights and excerise equipment off to the side were some students were lifting weights she came to the obvious conclusion that this was some kind of training building. "Allright everyone you know the drill. Each one of yous gonna come up say your name and hero name if you have one. show your power then explain how it works. Since I''m the most senior here I''ll go first" He puased for dramatic effect before continuing on. "My name Is Hector. Hero name: Headstone." Hector crouched low and placed his hand on the ground after a second one of fingers started to loose it''s gray gravel like appearances and were he placed it a Headstone like the one someone might find in a grave appeared. Just looking it at it gave a Hanna a feeling of dread. It wasn''t a natural feeling either but one that kept increasing the longer she stared at it. "My power allows covers my skin in a flexible stone like material. I can remove it to make a single Headstone per 2 to 3 inches. The headstones cuase a mental effect on anyone who looks at them so be careful." Based on what she had observed Hanna guessed his power was a trade power. Essentially a power that like the name implied allowed an empowered to trade one thing for another. Could be defence for greater mobility or in this case defence for psychological effect. The next up was Taylor who had allready introduced herself to Taylor. The girl was athletic but not in the body builder sort of way. More like someone who did a lot of running and parkour. She had blond hair tied into a neat pony tail. Her eyes told Hanna... nothing. Hanna didn''t really do the whole reading faces thing, it was essentially pointless for her. "Hello! My names Taylor! It''s so super for us to meet our newest student. Hero name Is Super Ultra!" She then showcased her power first she moved her hand up and down in that fast motion which created afterimage. Except those after images moved making various gestures. It wasn''t that she was moving super humanly fast either it was simply that the optical illusion cuased by moving your hands fast somehow came to life. She then started to ramp up speed until her hand looks like a blender creating dozens of the strange moving mirage''s. "As you can see my power let''s me take the after images and make them into real solid things. I can punch people like an ultra ammount! Any time I say ultra I get a charge which I can use to activate the effect. And when I say Super I can increase a single part of bodies speed by 1.5x the normal speed per charge used. Isn''t that just super!?" After Taylor came Joshua who greeted the crowd with a thumbs up. "Sup dudes!!! Names Joshua but yall can call me Josh. Hero name: Flow" He then demonstrated his power. He simply blinked forwards. It was like when you fast forwarded a scene, he just shifted from one section to the other. "My power is to skip time for myself forwards, backwards, or stop my time. The cost is that I have to wait the exact ammount of time before using my power again. If I skip forwards 10 seconds then I have to wait 10 seconds before I can use my power again. " This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience. Hanna felt outrage as she realized how he had avoided her headbut. How dare he sneak up on her and then use a power to avoid the rightous retribution? Still, she noted that his power was a bullseye type. A power with an intentional weakness, this generally allowed for stronger abilities. As each of the 30ish people started going up and showed off their powers Hanna could feel her anxiety increase with each person. The daunting realization that she was going to have to do things in front of people! Cold sweat started practicly pouring down her back. She had to flee! Run! Get away! She looked desperately for some kind of escape from the terror of social obligations but every exit was blocked by the throng of people. There was no escape and her desperation only mounted as the final person finished explaining their power. She walked to the arena like a prisoner being sent to the gallows. Her hands floating behind her giving middle fingers to the crowd, apparently that was their form of growling, as she looked back at the crowd and paled when she realized that they were all looking at her. She prayed to her anxiety addled brain to come up with some kind of excuse anything would do. "Sorry uh ummm guys I have homework.... to wash?" NOOOOOOOOO!!!! Apparently she should have been specific. But it was too late now she''d ruined her one chance at an excuse. It was then that a terrible brilliant idea hit her. It was pure madness but it just might work. Tentively she sent out an order to one of the nearby hands and it veered right in front of her face blocking off her view of the crowd. She visibly relaxed still stressed but not so much that her brain felt like her own worst enemy. At least no more then usual anyways. She fidgeted tapping her finger against her thy as she spoke up. "My name Is ummm Hanna Montgomery. I like video games. An interesting fact about me is that I once won a gaming competition in Ohio. Uuuuhhh I haven''t chosen a hero name yet." The crowd unbeknownst to Hanna collectively face palmed which once again Hanna did not see and thus lived in perfect ignorance. She figured that her power had been displayed enough that she could probably skip that whole step and move onto the explanation. "My power allows me to essentially to cast mages hand. But in real life. Each hand can lift 30 pounds and working together regardless of the angel they grab the object in they can lift heavier objects. For example if 3 hands work together they can lift 90 pounds. They also lift things without effort and can do so Indefinitely. Each of the hands have a tactile sense and have the general intelligence of a dog or cat." She said all of this without taking a single breath and once she finished she very slowly, inched a little bit out of the way to see the crowd and noticed them staring at her and immediately hid her view with the corporeal hand. "It''s a uhhhh very handy power." She added lamely attempting to add a little bit of humor into the exposition she had divulged." The crowd of people cheered and that was about all the peopling Hanna could take and she promptly zoned out. Eventually the party returned back to the apartment with a Hanna who sported a vacant expression familiar to anyone who had ever had to work retail. The hands had made the apartment mostly clean. This cleanliness did not last as the party goers immediately trashed despite the efforts of her overgrowing army of hands. Of course like horrible things the party ended and the guests left one by one. "Uh I''d offer my super help in cleaning up. But I''m pretty sure the middle fingers your hands are giving me are a good sign that they don''t want my help. Have an ultra day!!! I''ll see you in class tomorrow!" Hanna for her part plopped down on the ground and accepted her fate as a human board once all the guests had left. Her hands floating about as they sensed for trash. Eventually her place was clean in a way no college dorm had ever been. After about an hour Hanna got up and started scrolling through cat memes and practicely screamed in impotent rage when she heard a polite knock at her door. Still the rules of politeness compelled her to open up the door for her newest uninvited guests. It turned out they were movers and began bringing in things from her old dorm. They even set everything up for her. The exact moment they placed down her TV and gaming system she immediately zoomed with Olympic speed towards it and turned on a game. She quickly became engrossed into the world of Poke Rolls. An hour passed with her staring unblinking at her game before her mental batteries recharged enough for her to think. It was in this state of resurrected that idea hit her. "No way.... it wouldn''t work right?" She said to the blessed nobody. She gave a mental command and immediately hands grabbed onto her making her flinch but after about 5 hands had grabbed her they started slowly rising. The most important part of this was that Hanna was pulled up with them. "Oh fuck this is awesome!!! I can fly... sort of." It was an exiting detail and she had more then a little fun as she began experimenting with the pseudo flight. It was fun and a it became a perfect way to end the night as the clock nearby clearly showed that it way past "should probably sleep" time and had entered the "Oh fuck I need to sleep" stage. She went through the nightly ritual of brushing her teeth. Showering. And Finnally curling into a ball under 3 separate blankets as she started scrolling through the news. As was right and proper in the world. Most of the sensational bullshit that was called news revolved around a recent attack by the circus on a small wealthy retreat in Ireland. As usually they had killed everyone but the children. Those who were not lucky enough to be under 18 were killed in gruesome deaths. The circus was pretty much the worst villainous group in the world. They were the type of threat were cities would evacuate if they came within 100 miles of said cities. Each and everyone of said cities and towns. That''s what happend when your leader was one of maybe 10 known people to max out on points. Scrolling done she eventually passed out. The world turning to dreams as the day ended. Tommorrw would be her first day at attempting to earn her freedom from the academies bullshit. Year 1: classes chapter 1 Hanna was woken up by a loud speaker blaring into the sunny morning like some demonic rooster on a warpath against sleep itself. "Good morning students!!!! Classes will begin in 10 minutes. Your RA''s will be by shortly to ensure your are ready for roll call!!!" Hanna looked bleary eyed as she slowly got up. Her mind protesting the idea of being awake. She took a look at her nearby clock. "It''s 6 in the morning!!!" She attempted to go back to sleep only for her front door to be opened and a way to energetic Taylor to storm into her room and rip the blankets off her like they were an offense to her very being. "Come on time to wake up! It''s gonna an ultra day!!!!" Hanna just stared at the girl blankly with a face full of doubt. Just based on the fact that she had to wake up at 6 she had doubts that today was gonna be anything but torment. Hanna grumbling got dressed in a simple T-shirt with an image of a cat and a pair of pink shorts. She made her way outside yawning and saw Taylor waving at her the moment the door to outside world opened. She reluctantly made her way over to the overly energetic women and joined a line of around 5-10 girls. "Super! Okay let''s get roll call started. Samantha?" A petite girl with white skin and hazelnut hair replied. She wore a simple work out outfit. "Yuri?" Yuri was a tall women of Asian descent. She was wearing a gray hoodie with a pair or oatching Grey yoga pants. Her hoodie was strange though as it had two holes cut into the top. A few other names were called but Hanna had long since entered the realm of "wonder what''s gonna be for breakfast" mindset. After all the names had been called out the group of girls followed Taylor towards the building that Hanna recognized as the arena from the day before. I''m not gonna have to show my powers off again am I? She thought to herself freaking out just a little at the thought of once again having to explain her power in front of a crowd of people. As one might have guessed by now Hanna did not do well with crowds. Still she ultimately followed the group into the arena. The arena was just as it was when Hanna had come here before. A large spherical room with a dome for a roof. Made up mostly of a pit of sand and a few gyms set up on the far walls. The sand pit was souronded by 20 groups of 5 including Hannas group. Her group was split up into the various other groups. Hanna found herself in a group with Yuri and 3 guys. One of them had blond hair and was covered head to toe in tattoos that made it impossible to even figure out what his ethnicity was. The other was a boshish man with glowing voilet eyes and blond hair. Both were at least 2 feat taller then Hanna who stood at an unimpressive 5 foot 1. A fact that had not helped people respect her. A women in her late 30s with blond hair and eyes that had the first showing of crow''s feet. She was dressed in a simple white T-shirt and work out pants. She called out in the practiced voice that could carry across the room heard by all. Because she yelled each and every word, without taking a single breath. "HELLO FIRST YEARS!!! IM GLAD YALL WILL BE JOINING US THIS YEAR. NOW IM SURE YALL ALL WONDERING WHY WE GATHERED YOU ALL HERE." The women Paused for dramatic effect. "YOU ARE ALL GOING TO FIGHT AS TEAMS! YOULL BE GRADED BASED ON YOUR PERFORMANCE AND ASSIGNED EXTRA CLASSES IF YOUR FOUND LACKING." The loud women left and a holographic screen appeared naming two teams: Team 1: Yuri, Hanna, Tobias, Jerald, Tyrol. Team 2: Taylor, Joshua, Samantha, Terry, Jennifer. Hanna started to feel exited. Sure talking in front of a crowd was pretty much anathema to her very being. But fighting, well that wasn''t something she could do. 5 hands buzzed exited around her feeling her desire for violence. It didn''t take long for both teams to make their way to the pit. Hanna eyed the other team evaluating them. She could tell based on their lax but prepared posture that they had been in at least a few fights. Although she pegged a man wearing a dark t-shirt and shorts to be the most dangerous. He was the only one in the group who had any training. If his posture was anything to go by. A loud buzzer went off signaling the teams to start and Hanna wasted no time as she orderd two of her hands to follow her and sent a vague order to the others to try and hamper the enemy as much as possible. It took the hands a minute to "feel" othe souroundings but they got to work. If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. She charged strait for the man in the black T-shirt deciding to take him on first. Keeping one hand floating 3 feet in front of her and the other 3 feet behind her. She figured that she could use their touch sense as a sorta of early warning system. This turned out to be a good desicion as the hand in front of her felt a strong powerful gust of wind. The hand was then hit with a powerful cyclone filled with... dirt? Hanna turned towards the attack who was a young brutish girl giving her a wicked grin. She was dressed in a pink jacket and somehow even pinker yoga pants. In front of the girl was a purple arrow pointing towards Hanna. The girl had handfuls of sand in each palm and Hanna decided to switch gears. She ordered her hands to converge on the girl. The hands immediately stopped what they wete doinbwhich had been harassing the enemy team by blicking their view, grabbing onto them, and one was even pinching someone. As the hand swept down to grab the girl another purple arrow appeared taking about 2 seconds by Hannas count. The arrow pointed to the left and sent the girl flying out of the way of the hands which were then hit by the powerful force. The girl then mimed cutting something with scissors and all of the arrows disappeared. In the same notion she pointed her index finger at the projected hands a new arrow forming and then the girl threw a handful of sand into the path. Hanna felt a something like a mental equivalent of someone hanging up on you as her hands shattered. The onslaught of sand apparently to much for the projections to handle. "Note to self. Check out how durable the Hands are." Hanna had been waiting for her moment to charge forward and as the girl was currently facing were her hands had been Hanna took it as her cue to take out the troublesome enemy. She tackled the girl onto the ground and her head forward right into the girl forehead eliciting a nasty Crack sound. "You bitch! Gah! That fucking hurts!!!" Hanna had not been taught the finer points of mercy or honor so when the girl tried to point her index finger she had one of the hands grab it and.... bend it another. "Fuuuuckk!!!" The girl screamed out in pain and Hanna head butted the girl again before snapping the other finger. Once the initial bloodlust ran out she looked down at the girl and paled. She''d forgotten that this was a sparring match and not some street fight were the enemy was planning to kill you... or do far worse. She stopped. Surely they would call her out? Any minute now. Any minute they would disqualify her for using to much force. "Uh sorry. I''m gonna go beat up your friends now... sorry!" She said to the girl who was at gone unconscious from the pain. Or at least as far as Hanna could tell the girl was unconscious. She took the moment of reprieve to survey the battle. Her team was doing very well. The man with tattoos hadn''t even taken any damage instead each time an attack landed on him a tattoo would burn away leaving unblemished skin behind. Although it seems the guy didn''t have much in the way of offense. As his attack were just normal attacks without any apparent supernatural aspect to them. The boyish looking one seemed to have some sort of disorienting power. His eyes would glow with vibrant colors and the people he looked at would stumbled as if blind. She was just about to go help him out as a force hit her from behind. Pain lanced through her back as if she had been hit by a whip. The hands which had been floating behind her were destroyed and Hanna spun around to face her attacker. Shakily the girl she''d just knocked out stood on knee her middle finger pointed in Hannas direction. "Well that''s just rude!" Hanna dove out of the way as the girl formed another arrow. Being forced to dodge and evade the girls attacks was starting to make Hanna realize the downside of her power. 60 seconds was too damn long. She couldn''t wait on them to form. She was allready starting to tire from all the dodging. She would have to go on the offensive. So, she charged forward zig zagging in an attempt to keep the girl from landing one of those arrow tunnels of force. Hanna felt a foot collide with the back of her knee and realized another important fact. She was not fighting a single Opponent, she was fighting a team. Hanna looked around hoping to find support but all of her allies were preoccupied with their fights. Hanna got distracted when she saw Yuri. Yuri sported two feline ears, which was surprising of course. No, it was the way she moved and fought. It wasn''t like watching a human fight but an animal. The distracted costed Hanna as she was blown backwards by another arrow Tunnel. Sand scratching and Cutting at her face and exposed skin. The man in the black T shirt pulled out a strange looking pair of gloves. The gloves were black with bit of metal and circuitry somewhat visible along them. Hanna dimly noticed the same circuitry going through his clothes. Even his pants and boots. The man was clearly an egineer but Hanna couldn''t figure out what his focus was with the little she had seen. Next to Hanna two hands made of corporeal red energy. Along with a very welcome message prompt:
Congratulations! For making use of your powers in a stressful situation you have gained 5 (x2) points!! Further points will be harder to obtain!
Hanna needed fire power and needed it now. So, without a hesitation she inputed her idea for Elemental Hands and payed the 10 point fee.
Hands of the elements: Your hands can be designated with one of 5 types! Water, earth, Air, and Fire! You may designate a single Hand to become an elemental hands. This hand will gain physical characteristics based on the element chosen. The hands will gain in power with time improving based on point point into this skill. Points: 0 Elemental increase 1.5 per 10 seconds.
Hanna immediately designated the hand to her right as a fire hand and the hand to her left as an earth hand. The hand on the right changed, while still clearly a hand the edges of it wavered and woved like flames on a log. The other hand took on a sand like design. She looked up just in time to roll out of the way as the form of the eginnerr came barreling after her. His face quickly became acquainted with fire hand. "Oh I hope I don''t get disqualified for that" Hanna thought for the second time.
