《Sandman in MHA》 Prologue ¡°Yuta! It¡¯s time for school.¡± His mom exclaimed from the living room. ¡°I¡¯m almost done, just give me a minute.¡± Yuta said when he rushed into the bathroom and took his bath. Coming out, he dressed in his school uniform and went downstairs to meet his mom as they exited the house. *Bell rings* ¡®Heheheh, Now I¡¯ve got to go home and eat then get to sleep all day.¡¯ He thought with a villainous smile as he waited for his mom to come pick him up at the front gate of the school. ¡°Mom!¡± I shouted as I waved his hand toward his approaching mom. ¡°Yuta! How are you doing and how was school today?¡± Asked mom as she smiled. ¡°I''m good, mom. And school was great. I got to sleep all day in class.¡± I replied as I jumped towards my mother and gave her a hug. ¡°Aww that¡¯s good to hear.¡° She said as she gave Yuta a serious look. As we got home, mom told me to go take my bath which I did as well and quickly changed into my favorite sleeveless hoodie as I ran downstairs towards the dining table and waited for mom to serve my food. Shortly after I finished eating, I went upstairs where my room was and then I fell asleep lazily. [Next morning] *Yawn* ¡®Oh shit!¡¯ I quickly jumped off the bed and looked at the clock and saw I¡¯m 15 minutes late for school and I quickly took off my pajamas, brushed my teeth and turned on the shower to take my bath. I begin to wash my body under the shower and got to open my eyes I could see the floor in the bathroom filled with sand as I begin to wonder how it got there but didn¡¯t pay much attention to it as I continued to wash the soap off my body and saw my body began to melt as I quickly jumped out of the shower to and found out I can¡¯t see my hands anymore. ¡°Ahhhhhhhhh!¡± I screamed out of fear thinking today was my dying wish as my body began streaming down sands all over the room as my mom just bumped in out of nowhere only to see me on the floor without hands and she screamed out of shock seeing my body falling apart as she went numb for a second standing still and she quickly snapped out of her daydreaming and rushed downstairs only to call the school saying my son will be absent as she cut off the call and then proceeded to call an ambulance to come carry her son as she felt some kind of fear which she haven¡¯t felt in her whole life.Unauthorized usage: this tale is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Getting to the hospital, Yuta was rushed into the operating room where the doctors had to operate in him but only to find out his condition was normal, the doctors quickly sent for the mother and told her Yuta had awakened his ¡®Quirk¡¯ simply known as the ¡®Sand¡¯ at the age of 4. And if he doesn''t learn how to stabilize or rather control his quirk at his own will then he might go out of control and maybe his whole body will turn into sand and I might not be able to transform back. ¡°So I¡¯ll bring young Yuta with me to register his quirk right away and you, being the mother, will have to sign the registration form.¡± Said the doctor to Yuta¡¯s mom in a calm voice as he led the way to the quirk registration office. ¡°Okay doc.¡± Mom said as she stood up from the chair she sat down and followed the doctor to get the form signed. After mom signed the quirk registration form, the doctor gave her some meds as she was ordered by the doctor to give to me after my dinner before going to bed. We got home during 5:49 in the evening and mom took me to my room and helped changed my clothes to my night pajamas and then she instructed me to be in the dining table for dinner in the next 2 minutes which I did and I was served my favorite for dinner which I enjoyed and then I was giving the drugs the doctor gave my mom and she kissed me in the forehead wishing me goodnight as I went to my bedroom and lazily falling asleep like a dog. [Next day morning] *Yawns* Yuta woke up abruptly to his blaring alarm, eyes wide with determination set for the day. I flashily jumped off from bed with my scattered hair and sleepy eyes as I rushed up to the bathroom and brushed my teeth, took off my pajamas as I switch on the shower to take my bath and got my lazy ass back to the wardrobe and picked up my dress and changed to my school uniform. I rushed downstairs as I greeted my mom ¡°Good Morning mom.¡± I said ¡°Good Morning to you sweetie, how was your night?¡± ¡°It was great.¡± I said as happily as I quickly picked my seat and waited for my breakfast to be served. ¡°Mom, what do we get for breakfast?¡± I said as my nose picked up the lovely aroma coming from the kitchen. ¡°Sandwich with fried egg and milk.¡± Mom said as she served me my breakfast which I enjoyed so much. I took my school bag and ran outside waiting for my school bus to come pick me up as mom waved me as I took off. We got to school that morning as I came down from the school bus and rushed down to my class. Getting there I saw the other kids playing around as I went straight ahead to my seat in the top right corner of the class and rest my head, our homeroom teacher came in. ¡°Good morning class.¡± She said with a lovely smile ¡°Good morning Mr. Ken.¡± The whole class replied back to their homeroom teacher and then we took our seats and brought our english textbook and notebook out from our school bag for lecture. After our lecture ended, I opened my textbook and began to revise what we learnt today for our approaching weekly test a week from now. *Bell rings* ¡®Finally.¡¯ I thought to myself as I arranged my school bag and headed out to the school front gate where I saw my mom waiting for me as I simply ran and gave her a hug. We got home and I quickly ran to my room, took my bath and came downstairs as I had my dinner and quickly went back to my room. ¡®Okay I think it''s time for me to focus more on how to control my quirk and also work on my physical strength. But where do I start from?¡¯ I began to think on how to develop my control over my quirk and also my physical strength so I came to a conclusion to start with the simple basis since I know I''m the weakest and also the most lazy human on earth. It was another day when Yuta woke up earlier than usual and quickly washed my face with warm water and brushed my teeth as I walked and locked my room door gently trying not to wake my mom. ¡®Okay I guess I¡¯ll start with 10 push ups and 10 sit ups.¡¯ I thought as I began my training to become the strongest the world has ever seen. I began to count as I started doing push ups and knowingly my whole body started drooling with sweats as I collapsed in the 7th push up. I stood up again and gave it a second try, which I completed. I did 10 push ups and took a 3 minute break and continued with the next phase which was a little tougher for me when I collapsed again on the floor and tried to catch my breath. I stood up with passion once more and gave it my all as I started my 10 sit ups which I completed as I passed out due to exhaustion. ¡°Ahhhh shit!¡± I cursed as I opened my eyes and tried to stand up but my legs were weak and paralyzed due to the exercise I just did. I crawled to the bathroom and took off my clothes and leaned against the wall trying to catch my breath and forced myself to stand and finally I did and quickly took my bath, dressed and went straight ahead to my bed. Dozing off the moment I fell and began snoring out loud. Holy smokes! Who knew sleep could feel this heavenly?! Chapter 1 - Start of a Normal Day Need more advanced Chapters? She quickly dropped her luggages on the floor and rushed towards my room and slightly her eyes caught me laying down on the couch snoring out loud due to exhaustion. She carried me to my room and laid me on the bed and she left quietly avoiding waking me up. She went straight to her room and took her bath as she rushed downstairs to pick up her luggages and went inside the kitchen and prepared her favorite food for dinner ¡®pasta¡¯. She went back to my room and woke me up around 14 minutes past 8 in the night to come eat my dinner and gave me a command to come downstairs within 2 minutes which I did. ¡°Good evening mom.¡± I said with my sleepy eyes as I walked towards my seat. ¡°Good evening. How was your day at home?¡± She said to me while serving my food. ¡°It was awazwing.¡± Said with my sleepy eyes as mom laughed at me while serving my food. Here is your food sweetie. ¡°Thwank wyou mom and also goodnight to you mom.¡± Said as I opened my tiny little mouth wide like an ocean and yawned and began eating my pasta and fried chicken with orange juice. I finished eating my delicious dinner and thanked mom again for the meal as I lazily went back to my room and laid on the bed and fell asleep. ¡°Goodnight sweetie and have a wonderful dream.¡± She said smiling and went to the living room to watch the news and saw how the number one hero All Might took out the 5 villains robbing a jewelry store and beat the crap out of em. [Next day sunday morning] I woke up early as usual, did my 10 push ups and 10 sit ups and completed the drill. I picked up my towel and wiped off the sweats from my face and went straight ahead to the bathroom as I brushed my teeth and took my bath. I came out from the bathroom with my towel hanged around my little waist and picked up my cream and rubbed my whole body, took my ampiture as I sprayed my body and flashily dressed into my favorite clothes and wore a black face cap with a picture of All Might in it and went straight downstairs and wait for mom to come so we can head out. ¡°Sweetie, are you dressed up already?¡± Mom yelled from her room upstairs so I barely heard her well and answered. ¡°Yes mom.¡± Mom came downstairs and saw me with my outfit and smiled as I turned away embarrassed. We went outside and went straight ahead to where the car was and opened the door and sat at the back seat of the car and laced myself with the seat belt installed in the car. The author''s narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. Mom came inside the car and brought down the front mirror as she double checked her makeup and then she started the car and we drove down to the amusement park. We both enjoyed ourselves and after that mom took me to a cool place and I ordered pizza with orange juice for myself and mom ordered beef steak with beer and we both ate to our limit. Getting back into the car we drove back home and it was late so I just went ahead to my room, took my bath and laid on my bed. I woke up early and firstly stuck to my exercise to become the world¡¯s greatest and completed my 10 push ups and 10 sit ups. After that I then went inside the bathroom, brushed my teeth, took my bath properly and came out as I dressed in my school uniform and then went downstairs to get my breakfast and ate then picked up my lunch box and headed out the house and saw my school bus waiting and I hopped on. We got to school then I took off to my class, getting there I saw some children my age playing with their quirk and I got a little bit discouraged that I wasn¡¯t even close to using my quirk randomly like others. I smiled whenI watched my classmates playing with their quirks as I cheered for them. Our homeroom sensei came in and briefly taught us English and the next sensei came in who taught us mathematics and gave us an assignment to take home and to be submitted tomorrow morning. As our mathematics sensei left the class I quickly rushed to the top left corner desk and sat close to the most intelligent girl in class and we both did our assignment in class while others were playing and making noise. ¡°Thank you, Mei.¡± Said then shook hands with her and gave her a lovely smile. ¡°Y-You''re-welcome Y-Yuta.¡± Said Mei, as she stammered and bowed down her head and adjusted her medicated glass with her middle finger. I hurried back to my seat in the other end of the class and flashily brought out my lunch box and said, ¡°Itadakimasu.¡± Then I started eating and finished it all and drank my water to help me stay hydrated and went to sleep since we got the last 2 classes as free period. *Tap* ¡°Wake up Yuta! Your mom is calling for you.¡± Said my homeroom sensei. ¡°Okay sensei.¡± I looked around me only to find no one else in the class, I picked up my school bag and rushed to the school front gate where I found my mom waiting for me. ¡°Where have you been, Yuta? It¡¯s been 17 minutes past school closing hours so I called your homeroom sensei to help me check on you.¡± ¡°Sorry mom! I slept off in class.¡± I said while giving mom puppy eyes and she told me to get in the car which I did and we drove home. Getting home I quickly ran to my room and took my bath and hurried back downstairs straight to the fridge and drank some cold milk. ¡ª-----------------POV MOM¡ª-------------- I went to my room, took a bath and came downstairs and told Yuta I¡¯ll be back late and never open the door to anyone and commanded him. I took off with my car driving down the company I work. Getting there I saw the manager of the company and greeted him respectively as I approached my office and went straight ahead to my computer. Getting to unblock the computer I heard my manager screaming at someone and paid no mind to them then I continued typing the document given to me early in the morning. I finished typing after 2 hours of concentrated focus and my phone rang as I looked at the number which I didn¡¯t recognize and rejected the call, the next minute later the phone rang again with the same unknown number and picked without saying anything a word first. ¡°Hello.¡± Said the person on the other end of the phone. ¡°H-hello.¡± I replied slowly and curious as to what he was about to say. ¡°A random car was driving as the driver lost control and ran into your home.¡± Said the person on the other end of the phone. ¡°Yuta.¡± I screamed furiously as it was the only thing that escaped my mouth and I quickly ran and took the elevator to the ground level and rushed inside my car and drove at high speed towards the house. Getting home I saw two police cars with 5 policemen at the door front of the house with Yuta. ¡°Yuta! I screamed in tears and ran towards Yuta and gave him a motherly hug as tears started streaming down my cheeks. ¡°Yuta, are you hurt anywhere?¡± I said while hugging him. ¡°No mom, I¡¯m pretty good myself. I¡¯m sorry for making you worry about me mom.¡± He said as he let go of me. I turned to the police officers and gave them my thanks for coming here and taking care of the situation at hand as the drunk driver was charged for breaking of house property and was handcuffed as he was led into the back seat of the police vehicle. I quickly turned to Yuta and took him inside my car and began driving to the nearest hospital in the city as we were caught up in an explosion and I suddenly matched the break of the car and it suddenly stopped. Waiting down for the dust to of the explosion to clear, I began hearing the sounds of gunshots as Yuta was scared when hugged me from behind and behold we heard a voice saying, ¡°Citizens of this great city, fear not! For today, justice arrives with unwavering resolve. I stand against the shadows that threaten the peace of our home.¡± The hero ¡®Rock Lock¡¯ said while taking his heroic stance as me and Yuta recognized the hero from the top 100 billboards and then Yuta eyes widened with a heroic smile on his face. Chapter 2 - Beneath the Surface Need more advanced Chapters? Visit my P@t Patreon: Hunchovroy1 After we were just saved by the hero Lock Rock, we thanked him as he took off with the captured villain. We got to the hospital and the doctor did a scan on Yuta and behold his health was so much pretty okay since he wasn¡¯t hurt anywhere from the house incident nor the villain incident on the way here. I called Yuta¡¯s school informing the principal about the incident that occurred and that he won¡¯t be coming to school for the rest of the week, which he agreed to as we drove back home. We got back home and I simply made some noodles and we both ate to our limit. Yuta went back upstairs to his room to get some rest as I approached the living room to watch the news. ¡ª-----------POV YUTA¡ª------ Mom called school informing them I won''t be coming until the upper week Monday which I find exciting and took a hold of the chance and opportunity to learn some few things about my quirk. I went ahead and took my bath first and wore just my boxers and sat on top of my bed as I crossed my legs and closed my eyes and began concentrating. After some time I felt something in my hands pop out and quickly opened my eyes only to find a small piece of sand in my palms. I then rushed outside the house and scooped a little sand in my school bag and brought it upstairs to my room. I poured the scooped sand on the floor and began thinking of ways of shaping the sand into different forms. I finally came to the conclusion of reshaping the formless sand to a circular shape. I drank a bit of water to keep me hydrated, then closed my eyes as I imagined the shape of the sand in my head for some minutes and focus my hands pointed to the formless sand on the floor and fortunately the sand started floating mid air which I saw when my eyes opened, due to lack of concentration and focus, the sand flared up and fell down to the floor. I stood up again, picked my towel and cleaned off the sweats streaming down my face. I sat down on the floor again and started focusing all my senses into shaping the sand and behold the sand gathered together and started floating mid air again and I pictured a circle shape in my head as the sand began to form a circular shape. ¡°Yuta! I¡¯ll be out for an errand due to an emergency at work. I won¡¯t be back any moment from now. I¡¯ve prepared some amazing snacks and packaged them inside the refrigerator, so whenever you¡¯re hungry you¡¯re free to eat as much as you can.¡± Mom exclaimed as she exited the house and drove off. ¡ª------------------------------------------ Seeing her drive off, He exited the house and approached the backyard filled with sand and other fun equipment. He sat down in the sand while crossing both legs and started concentrating, thinking of manipulating the sand around his surroundings. Sitting quietly on the sand, He closed his eyes and took slow, deep breaths. A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation. With his mind clear and focused, Yuta tried to move the sand according to his visualization plan. He gently waved his hands over the sands, concentrating on the shape he wanted to create. At first, the result was modest, but with each attempt, he refined his technique and improved his control. To enhance his control, Yuta started using simple commands to raise up the sand at will and it helped him direct his focus and achieve more precise results. After each attempt, he would take a moment to reflect on what worked and what didn¡¯t and so on. He was positive to help himself refine his quirk and build up confidence. He began to focus more and more and after some serious attempt, which let him raise up the sand at will and doing so, he reshaped the sand into different kinds and was able to control his quirk which got him more fired up. He then advanced to the next step by forming sand into smaller particles and tried shooting them. He managed to form the sand into his preferred object size, and advanced to shoot it towards his target and boom, suddenly the sand flared up without moving an inch mid-air, his eyes widened in surprise and tried doing it again and the same procedure repeated. ¡®C¡¯mon me. I¡¯ve almost got it.¡¯ He thought, regained his focus and meditation, he slowly raised his hands and the sand arose up to his command and refined into a bullet shaped size. Kindly taking a very deep and calm breath once more, he focused his concentration on the bullet shaped size and started picturing the sand moving slowly. The bullet shaped size moves at the pace of a snail before flare up mid-air. He stood up at his current spot from the backyard and went inside the house to grab his meal and cleaned up the sweats streaming down all over his body and flashily went back to base. Getting there he took his stance and meditated deep in within his inner self and brought forth his hands towards the sand, the sand yield his command and arose from the ground forming different types of smaller shapes as he pictured the sand in his mind, the shaped object formed with the sand fired straight with a low minimum speed before the outburst of the sand occured. ¡ª-----------------------------YUTA¡ª----------------- ¡°Hell yeah! I did it! I¡¯m finally able to grasp a hold of my quirk.¡± I exclaimed when I stood up and went back into the house and took my bath, after that, I got myself hydrated and went straight ahead to the living room and sat on the couch and turned on the TV and started watching the news. While focused on the TV for about 15 minutes, mom came back home as I rushed and gave her a hug. ¡°Welcome back home mom.¡± Said, still clinging to mom. ¡°I¡¯m back home sweetie! How are you doing?¡± ¡°I¡¯m doing pretty good mom! Thanks for asking.¡± I helped mom carry her luggages to her bedroom upstairs and hurried back to the living room and located the nearest couch to me and sat. Mom came downstairs and went to the kitchen to prepare miso soup for dinner as we ate while exchanging some words and said my usual ¡®thanks for the meal¡¯ and went upstairs to my bedroom and changed into my pajama and slept off. It was now the following week tuesday, I got up from bed early as usual and did my morning routine and went to school. The day went by very fast and likely nothing much happened in school. Mom came by and picked me up from school. I took my bath and ate lunch as I headed back to my room and continued spending more time training my quirk. I was finally able to produce and control sand at will but wasn¡¯t able to produce a larger portion of sand at once but gradually made enough progress daily. I became more attracted to my daily solo quirk training as I began to understand how my quirk works gradually and saw much room for improvement as time moved on. I began reading a lot of books concerning sand and experimented on a lot of research to learn some new techniques. ¡ª-------------------------------------- Chapter 3 - Passion of the Burning Fire Need more advanced Chapters? We got to school early and I exited the bus, getting to the doorstep of my class, I stopped while gulping some spit and took the confidence to enter the class. ¡°Welcome back, Yuta!¡± The whole class exclaimed. ¡°Welcome back, everyone.¡± Said with a weird smile on my face as I approached my seat and sat down. The whole class was happy to see me back after a one week break and with that, we exchanged words together and laughed loudly. I told the class about the incident that occurred and how me and my mom got saved from a villain attack by Lock Rock. ¡°Wowww!¡± They exclaimed as I told them about the hero who saved us and after that we chatted a little more as our social studies teacher came in. ¡°Take your seats everyone¡± Our social studies teacher said as he turned his back against the class, facing the chalkboard, he started teaching for 35 minutes and left as his class period ended. The rest of the day went by in a flashy way. After getting my books and textbook inside my bag and was about to exit the class home, Mei approached me and asked. ¡°C-Can we be f-friends?¡± She stammered while her head was bent down facing the floor. ¡°Sure! And I''m looking forward to being friends with you Mei.¡± I said with a wide smile on my face and shook hands with her and exited the classroom. ¡°How was school today? Son!¡± ¡°It was marvelous. I got to tell the class how Lock Rock saved us from the villain incident, also a girl in my class named Mei proposed to being friends with me and I said yes.¡± ¡°Heh! Awwwn! My little boy got asked out by a girl.¡± Mom said teasingly while covering her mouth as she turned to me sitting at the back seat of the car with a weird smile on her face as I bent down my head in embarrassment. We got home and I did my usual routine and locked myself in my bedroom. ¡®Time for a lil training¡¯ thought as I ran downstairs to scoop some sand and brought it up to my bedroom and poured the sand into the floor. I sat down on the floor, crossed my legs and began meditating for about three minutes. I stretched my hands out as the sand rose mid-air while still keeping my focus and shapeshifted the sand into a star-like shape and changed it again into a circular shape while on repeat shape shifting it for another two minutes. I then stood up from the ground and tried something new with my quirk. I tried creating a clone out of sand which I recalled when doing my research on the net and behold the sand flared up and splattered all over my room. ¡. Yuta''s small hands, stained with traces of sand, was an evidence of his constant quirk practice. Every day after school, he would return to his room or the backyard filled with sand, his place of solace and experimentation. He was determined, with a heart full of dreams and a spirit as resilient as the sands he manipulated. Unauthorized use: this story is on Amazon without permission from the author. Report any sightings. Yuta¡¯s dream was not just to wield his Quirk with mastery but to use it for something meaningful. He would often watch his parents and other heroes on TV, observing their will and strength, and in his mind, he was already envisioning how he would one day join their ranks. For now, his aspirations were simple. He wanted to make his mom proud, help his friends, and perhaps one day become a great hero himself. His mom was supportive and loving, encouraging Yuta exploration of his quirk abilities. She was keenly aware of the responsibilities that came with raising a child with a quirk, she took every measure to ensure Yuta safety while allowing him the freedom to explore his quirk and grow. Despite his talent, Yuta¡¯s quirk was still developing, and mastering it was a daily adventure. Sometimes, the sand would behave unpredictably, causing minor accidents like sand spilling from his small hands or creating a mini sandstorm. Yuta himself would laugh along, to his joy and resilience. Few months has passed by since he started his solo quirk training and with encouragement from his mom, he was motivated and kept trying to improve his physical strength while using his quirk. He goes back to the backyard which was his main training ground suited for his quirk, because it was filled with sand. He took his stance with eyes closed, he then stretched out his hands covered with bruises all over and the sand rose up mid-air to his will and kept the sand floating while he was soaked with a lot of sweat streaming down his body as he dropped down to his knees, looking at the timer reading 6 minutes 14 seconds as his limit. He broke down laying on the floor breathing heavily as he tried to catch his breath which was hard for me. He then managed to catch his breath and crawled with his knees to the house and approached the refrigerator as he grabbed a bottled can-water and drank it all with a blink of an eye as he felt he was about to die and explode. ¡. ¡°Dammmnnn! Never thought I would survive that.¡± I muttered and went upstairs to get my assignment done. *Car horns* I ran towards the frontal door downstairs while the door was opened by mom and slammed my face into it and fell down. ¡°OMG! Yuta are you okay?¡± Mom exclaimed in shock and rushed ahead to help me stand on my feet and said. ¡°A hero never cries while getting his forehead slammed into the door.¡± I spoke majestically with both hands on my waist and a wide smile as mom said. ¡°That¡¯s my hero!¡± She chuckled while patting my head three times. ¡. Yuta inhaled a very deep breath to fill his lungs as he was about to float the sand mid-air. He took his stance and stretched his hands forward and the sand around him started floating, while the sand kept floating, he shapeshifted the sand into different shapes and steadily let them float mid-air. While at it, he tried to clone the sand and immediately spat blood from his mouth so was his nose and ears streaming down blood all over as he let go of the sand. He took a time-out and wiped off the blood from his nose with his clothes and began the second round. This round was a little bit stressed up as the first round was, he continued with his training, meanwhile reaching his limit, he stared up at the bright sky and wondered what and how long he''s going to stir up his way to the top. ¡. ¡°Oi! Endeavor approached the villains and took them into custody and handed them to the police as he flew down to Gaituen Street to where villains were rampaging and took a hold of the situation at hand. Endeavor was able to restrain a couple of villains, the few villains standing were so terrified and scared seeing the brute strength of the number 2 hero. ¡°Don¡¯t get cocky, hero! Endeavor dashed towards the villain giving him not a second to blink and delivered the finishing blow which caused the villain to lose consciousness at the exact moment. After some time spent honing my so-called peculiarity, I was able to manipulate sand for a brief period of time¡ªno more than five minutes. Since it''s Friday, I left school early today. I returned to my room and began studying for the promotion exam that would be coming up in a few weeks. Since Mei was the smartest student in my class and consistently placed first, I worked hard to place among the top five. After some study time, I resumed my training and managed to control the sand until I reached my breaking point and quit. After some time of training, I went to conduct more study on my sand quirk. I focused more on defence for the time being while I was doing this, and using the information I had been accumulating, I tried putting what I had learnt into practice. While making some sand, I extended my right palm, covered it completely, and attempted to harden it. while directing every sense onto my hand. I raised my right hand high, hoping to turn it into solid sand, as shimmering grains of sand clung to my fingertips. My eyes grew wide with excitement as I focused on using my sand quirk. The pressure of my resolve caused the sand to get colder, denser, and heavier with every second that went by. But even with my best efforts, I was unable to achieve success. My hands, on the other hand, resisted the change and stayed the same. Even though I was disappointed, I persisted. I clung to my bed and slept off. [ five years time skip ] ¡.. After five years, Yuta is now 5''5 166 cm tall and has developed into a lively 9-year-old. For the past five years, he has been living a healthy life because he has been able to work on his defence and push himself to the limit while using his quirk. His bright, inquisitive red eyes still sparkle, but they are now framed by his curly blonde hair that frequently falls across and covers his forehead scar (A/N: Imagine Geto''s scar in Jujutsu Kaisen). Now, Yuta might learn to clone sands and move objects, albeit he still hasn''t perfected it. ¡. A Many occurrences have been occurring for some time now. I dedicated around half a day to my solitary quirk training, and my mother has been there to support and encourage me. Over the years, I developed the ability to clone myself, but it wasn''t nearly flawless. The clone I imagined wasn''t completely formed, and I couldn''t control it prior to the sand explosion. I also learnt how to use my peculiarity to hover my body in midair for roughly 15 seconds and how to cover my hands with sand while it solidifies for more than five minutes. Seeing the results of my unwavering training, I was hardly encouraged to pursue my oddity. ¡.[Pov with Yuta] Mei has always supported me throughout the years, and she frequently joins me at home as we work to develop our individuality, though I was obviously better at hegemonizing it than she was. In contrast to me, Mei''s quirk was somewhat comparable to mine; it was the wax quirk, which gave her the ability to control and alter it. Mei was quickly regaining her quirk throughout the years, and she was similar to me in that she was able to shapeshift her wax into items that were somewhat similar to me. Months and days went by while Mei was making such rapid progress in overhauling me. Mei had long, simple black hair, brilliant brown eyes, and a height of 5''6 168 cm. She was quite attractive and somewhat aggressive at the same time. Mei lived with her dad while her mother was away since she was two years old. Her twin sister studied in the United States and now resides with her uncle. My single oddity training had been joined by Mei, so it was now a duo. Haha. I helped Mei mostly on how to sway her wax quirk in order to aid her go beyond various limits every single day. As he gets older, Yuta gains the incredible power to control and work with sand, opening up a world of opportunities and experiences. Yuta finds that he can easily shape and mould sand to his whim as he embraces his newfound sand powers. He can create lifelike animals and elaborate sand structures that resemble magnificent castles with a single hand gesture. These inventions act as his playmates, protecting him and stimulating his creativity. His ability to manipulate individual grains of sand allows him to create complex, feeble sand armour, further developing his sand talents. He is resilient against Mei''s humorous attacks during their pretend battles because to this protective covering, which guarantees victory. He develops his skills in manipulating sand to produce sandstorm whirlwinds. He is surrounded by these miniature storms. Together, they discover secret worlds within their imaginary world, and Mei is astounded by his skill at sand-swirling. Along with attacking strategies, Yuta deepens his comprehension of the inherent characteristics of the sand. He uses this ability to summon toys out of sand, which makes him happy and comforts him, and empathy blossoms inside him. Yuta''s sand skills and talents continue to develop as he grows from a small kid to a 9-year-old, and his abilities serve as a catalyst for his development and inventiveness. He finds new ways to interact with people and express himself through his sand manipulation, fostering connections and fostering an imaginative world. I banged my fist at the alarm clock on my right and slept till I heard my name being spoken aloud as a microphone and popped off the bed that went straight to my brain. "Mom, please calm down; I need more sleep." As I collapsed back into bed, I said to my mother, my eyes watering. "Get the hell up, you little piece of shit! You have to take your admission exam soon.¡± Mom smirked and gritted her teeth. Two veins appeared on her forehead as she delivered a superman punch to my midsection. I screamed loudly and rolled down the floor, using my right hand to gesture ''give up''. ¡°In order to arrive at your exam room on time, brat, get your lousy ass up and take a bath.¡± As the poor little kid on the ground responded, she cried out to him, shielding his tummy from the pain he was experiencing, ¡°R-Roger that captain.¡± "That works out well for you, boss." He immediately grinned evilly as his mother left the room, remembering how she had tried to wake him up and thrown her fist at his stomach. He quickly covered his stomach with sand armor under his pajamas, reducing the damage to zero while feigning pain to prevent his mother from giving him another fistful of affection. "I suppose I''ll need to warm up with some push-ups before heading to the exam room." To clear his body, he stood up and performed 20 push-ups and sit-ups before taking a bath in the bathroom. After dressing neatly and putting his white towel around his waist, Yuta emerged from the bathroom and went downstairs for breakfast. "Ara ara." Mom teased as I was making my way downstairs, keeping my right hand in my pockets and checking the time on my left wrist to see how long I had left before the exam started. "Mom, since I''m not really hungry, I''m fine with a slice of toasted bread." Yuta took up the toasted slice, rubbed it with a little jam and went to the door to leave the home. ¡°Go get em sweetie.¡± Yuta exited the house feeling mortified over his Mom¡¯s word and also it boosted the confidence in him. Yuta left the house and rode in a cab for fifteen minutes to the closest train station. When he arrived at the train station, he looked at his wristwatch and saw that it was twenty-seven minutes past eight. He then obtained his rail ticket and boarded the train, which would take him another fifteen minutes to reach his destination. When he got off the train, he noticed that the exam time was eighteen minutes before nine. "Let''s get it now." Grinning, he made his way to Highquest Middle School''s door. ¡®OMG! This is a fascinating time, and the school is enormous.¡¯ He was lost in his own thoughts before a random student banged his fist at Yuta''s back to wake him from his reverie, he stood motionless at the entrance gate for a minute. If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. "Hey! I understand your feelings, but you need to ignore them and concentrate on the test.¡± As he entered the school grounds and waved his hands to Yuta, the unidentified boy murmured. "Roger that." He thought to himself when he entered the school and made his way to the students gathering in a large field, waiting for the teacher or examiner to direct them to their individual exam rooms. "How are you, students?" The students were standing in the field when an unidentified voice reverberated around the area and then resurfaced. "Highquest Middle School welcomes you. We extend a warm welcome to you on campus at one of Japan''s best middle schools. By the time the results are released, we will only be admitting the best pupils to this institution, so you have to give it your all today. Thus, pay close attention as we lead you to your exam rooms.¡± Following that, a few examiners were introduced to each student for the entrance exam in different hallways. "So, east west of the school gate, in hall C, I am based." After giving it some thought, Yuta took the second seat in the center row of the hall. "My name is Mr. Eto. I will be supervising hall C for this exam, and I ask for your cooperation throughout it. If you are caught engaging in any kind of malpractice, you will be removed from the exam. The first paper is mathematics, and you have one hour and thirty minutes to complete it. The same goes for your English, which is coming up next. Sit down and concentrate on the task at hand.¡± As he distributed the exam question paper and booklet to each student, Mr. Eto said, "Start!¡± ¡®Oh my goodness, this is some really fibrous shit.¡¯ When Yuta reached a question Mei had given him, he put his pen down on the desk and started looking at every question in his booklet. He grabbed his pen and started working through question four in his booklet. After 17 minutes, he moved on to the next one, and so on to the final one. He covered his booklet, put down his pen, and waited for the last minute to pass before turning it, finishing ahead of all the other students. "Sensei! Can I submit now that I''m done and go study for the next test?¡± ¡°Sure.¡± Yuta rose from his chair, approached the examiner to turn in his paper, and then left the room. As time passed, more and more students continued to leave the exam room after submission while some of them were afraid of the test the school had set for them. "Please enter quietly and take a seat; it''s time for the next paper." The students took their seats and complied with the examiner''s instructions. "This is the final paper, so do your best to avoid being kicked out or expelled." He gave the student another warning and gave them the booklet and question. "You could begin.¡± Before beginning to respond to the questions, Yuta took five minutes to focus on each one. He started by responding to some simpler questions and saved the more difficult ones for last. "Please tell me what you were asking your seatmate, you on the red sleeve in the third row.¡± "N-Nothing, sir." The student apologized sweetly, "I''m s-s-sorry sir," while trembling with terror and sorrow at being kicked out of the exam. "Since the time is drawing near, you can sit down and continue your examination." After saying that, the examiner started to go around the hall, making sure that everyone was working on their assignments. "Sensei!" From the other end of the hall, a girl cried out. "I''m done.¡± "Go to the front and sign this attendance list while submitting." After saying this to the girl, he resumed his patrol in the hallway. Yuta was contemplating trying to engage in malpractice with his quirk while he sat calmly and watched the examiner. "Caution. You will not be allowed to take the exam if you are spotted utilizing your quirk in the exam room, which will automatically prevent you from getting accepted into this institution. The examiner rubbed his white beard and issued another warning. ¡®What the hell?¡¯ Does he read minds because of his quirk? Guilt-ridden, Yuta questioned himself and concentrated harder on his test. The examiner stopped each student after the allotted time had passed, gathered all of the booklets, had us sign the attendance sheet, and then we left the exam room. "You will return to the field for a helpful announcement." As he rushed out of view of the students surrounding him, the examiner spoke. "What on earth is meant by that?" In the middle of the class, a chubby student wearing glasses erupted in rage and yelled, which infuriated Yuta, who then fashioned a tiny needle in the shape of sand and shot it so quickly at the fat student''s neck that it knocked him unconscious. ¡®Shut the hell up fatty.¡¯ Yuta thought to himself as he gazed at the unconscious student and approached the field for the announcement. "Congratulations on your exam! You will receive an email with your results in seven days, indicating if you are eligible to enroll at Highquest Middle School. Good luck, or you might be fired.¡± ¡®At last! I''m eager to get home and have a long nap now that it''s over.¡¯ Yuta thought to himself as he left the school grounds and went to the closest train station, where he obtained a ticket and boarded the train for the fifteen-minute journey. Chapter 6 - Admission Need more advanced Chapters? "It was a jiffy day." After retiring, he turned on the television to kill time and sighed as he picked up a piece of cake and some milk juice from the kitchen refrigerator.. After a while of staring at the television program, his mother returned home with some drinks and supper ingredients. ¡°So, how was it?¡± ¡°What¡¯s what mom?¡± ¡°The entrance exam.¡± ¡°Oh, it was great, but also strenuous as it is.¡± ¡°And when will the accession outcome be fortified?¡± ¡°Next week, I will receive a notification via mail about the sequel. As I whisked the raw eggs in a bowl, I muttered that. "Is this enough, Mom?" I said. ¡°Yes it is. So go clean your hands and wait for your dinner. Okay?¡± I exited the kitchen and went to my bedroom upstairs and barred the door. I layed down on my bed with legs crossed and arms folded together. I closed my eyes and began thinking back on my eccentricities when I was startled by the unexpected call on my phone. "Fuck it! I''m captivated, so who''s calling at this hour? I picked up the ringing phone on my table and muttered something angry. I sighed and answered after taking a look at the caller ID. ¡°Yo! What¡¯s up?¡± I said to the other end of the phone with a calm and positive tone. ¡°I¡¯m good and you?¡± Mei, on the other hand, said to me, ¡°I¡¯m a little bit stressed out, due to the entrance exam today.¡± ¡°How was it? Was it a written test or a quirk test?¡± ¡°A written test and I got drained by it. However, were you able to meet your uncle in America?¡± ¡°Sure, I did. My middle school entrance exam is on Tuesday next week and I¡¯m excited.¡± Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on Royal Road. ¡°Aww, lucky you. Goodluck on your exam and I¡¯ll keep in touch with you. Okay.¡± I said and cut off the call. I went back to my place and regained my focus. ¡®I can se¨C.¡¯ ¡°Dinner is ready.¡± I was interrupted by my mom''s voice and went downstairs for my dinner. ¡°Thanks for the meal.¡± I said my usual thanks and walked back to my room and slumped off. [Next day] *Cough* ¡°Damn it! I can''t believe that my fever started yesterday. *Cough* I need to prepare myself for this minor fever." I mumbled in a slack voice. I was able to pull myself out of bed and hastily take a wash. *Cough* ¡°Mom Isn¡¯t breakfast ready yet?¡± *Coughs* ¡°It is. Uhm, are you okay?¡± "No. I''ve been suffering from exam fever and sleep deprivation after getting back from the examination.¡± "All right, eat up and let''s go see the closest doctor.¡± Mom said. She took me to the doctor after driving a few miles, where I was given some medication and given time to recover. Yuta got out of bed and opened his eyes, looking around the brightly lit room. "I think I''m all right now." After giving it some thought, he walked out of the room. He waltzed up to his mother when he saw her on the phone while he was walking through the lengthy hallway. "Mom, I feel better now. May we go?" He said. "All right, let''s head home and relax." His mother also said. [The next week] ¡®It appears that I have not yet received any correspondence regarding my acceptance. I''ll return to my training.¡¯ He thought to himself since Mei had gone to study her middle school abroad under her uncle''s care, he didn''t think much about it and started training alone. "I think I''m getting used to this." He grinned and started creating a clone of himself in his head, but what he saw was completely different. As he attempted again, he produced a formless sand that instantly flared up. This time, he started shapeshifting each of the rectangular forms he had made into a human part. He started by transforming a single rectangular shape into a human leg and then focused intently on that one result, honing it to perfection after a few minutes of continuous meditation. After wiping the sweats from his brow with his cloth, he went on to the next. Retentively, he embodied the same method and achieved the same result as with the last one. ¡®The legs are now complete; on to the next one.¡¯ After wiping away the sweat once more, he chose to create the arms rather than the legs because they are much simpler. In order to create well-made fingers, he started recoiling a long pile of straight sand after modifying a few sandy shapes together. He then used sand to create a human with both limbs and legs, reassembling everything in a prefecture that was so near to a sand clone. "I''ll finish it with a little more push." He said, solidifying his human flesh with sand as he moved forward to defend himself. ¡°I''ll refer to this sand armament." By applying a thick layer of sand to his right hand, he created a sand weapon that resembled a monster''s arm with long, sandy claws fastened to the armor. He kept his concentration so he wouldn''t misjudge his progress when the sand started to solidify his human skin¡ Taking off both his armor in his arms, he went downstairs. "I''m going to be out for a few minutes, Mom." He left the house and ran all the way to the nearest woodland near his home. "Let''s now examine these claws'' potential." He covered both of his arms with sand armor that had jagged-looking claws. He moved to the next tree and tried to use his solid-clawed fist to bring down the massive tree, which fell into five clawed pieces. ¡®Wow! I had no idea it would be so sharp to chop down such a large tree. I have to use caution to prevent hurting someone with this.¡¯ He whispered to himself, clenching his fists in joy. "That''s sufficient for today; let''s go home." When he got home, he went to the living room to watch the news with his mother. [Next week wednesday] *Phone ringing* ¡°Yo, Mei! How was your entrance exam?¡± "It was really simple. I headed home after finishing before everyone else in the examination hall.¡± Mei spoke in a boastful manner. ¡°That¡¯s so you. Always being the top of the class for all semester, finding out you weren¡¯t gonna chicken out like a lost child because there aren¡¯t any questions out there that¡¯s gonna faze some pretty and brilliant girl like you.¡± ¡°Hehehe, yeah that¡¯s right.¡± ¡°So how far have you been training with your quirk?¡± ¡°Yeah, I¡¯ve been leveling up ever since I came to america and my uncle got me a quirk adviser who is nurturing me everyday. How have you been coping with yours?¡± ¡°Same as always. Still leveling up alone with no consultant but yet to decide if I¡¯ll get an adviser soon before entering high school.¡± ¡°Oh really!? That¡¯s great and you¡¯ve been at it, all these while without no one counseling you on your quirk. I¡¯ll give you a reward for that. Yuta.¡± ¡°Thanks Mei!.¡± I ended the call and layed back on the couch. ¡®Yosh, I¡¯m not gonna lose to ya, Mei! Can¡¯t wait to see you soon and how far you¡¯ve evolved your quirk.¡¯ *Phone rings* "Hmm?" Yuta saw a fresh brochure and picked up his phone again. He discovered it was a letter from Highquest Middle School when he opened the notification. Sweat began trickling down his brow, and he swallowed. "It''s time to find out if I''ll be accepted or not." When Yuta opened the mail and realized that he had been accepted to Highquest Middle School, he swallowed once more and gathered his bravery. ¡°I made it!¡± He exclaimed in exultation as he told his Mom the good news and she was delighted to hear about it and felicitated him on his hard work. Chapter 7 - Choice Need more advanced Chapters? Visit my P@t Patreon: Hunchovroy1 Three years had gone by since the fierce conflicts that moulded the futures of heroes and villains in the busy metropolis of Mustafu. Yuta, who is now 12 years old, stood in his training area amid the reconstruction and restoration work, intent on honing his sand-based trick. Yuta was determined to make a name for himself in the hero world because of his potential and unyielding resolve. The determination of both young and elderly heroes was put to the test as Mustafu dealt with a fresh wave of villain activity while Yuta trained nonstop. One fateful day, a formidable collection of villains came out of the shadows, leaving a path of fear and despair in their wake. The pro heroes rushed into action, their resolve unflinching in the face of the villains'' overwhelming forces. Ten people make up the infamous gang of villains in the city''s shadows. Licht, the water-quirked leader of the savage gang. Enzo, who has an ice quirk that causes everything in his path to freeze, and a scorched scar. With his upper torso shaped like a bird, Shoyou is a bird quirk. A female with a sound quirk is named Rika. A woman named Hina has a wind quirk. Choji has the ability to transform any part of his body into a gun because of his gun quirk. Ishigami, with the quirk of a laser. With a speed quirk, Morata. Hito had a lightning quirk, and Gin had a strength quirk. With the help of his quirk, this gang of criminals, led by the crafty and vicious Licht the mastermind, was able to eliminate numerous heroes. They entered the city with the sole intention of exacting "revenge" on their deceased friend, who had been struck down by Edgeshot, the despised number five hero. These kinds of villains are the ones who hurt any of their allies or who never condone snitching. But the second time they particularly targeted him, Edgeshot, maintaining his cool and collected demeanor, captured them all with ease. The specifics of the fight was withheld from the public so the only thing the buzzing news anchor could really do about the fight was offer up speculations and feed the ever curious mind of the public. Unfortunately, the scale of the fight was so huge that it engulfed a few city blocks because of the chase, leaving the sidekicks and other lower ranked heroes to take care of the aftermath of their chase while Edgeshot pursued the villains and also led them to the lower populated areas. "Hmm!" Given the commotion surrounding the unexpected villain''s strike in Japan, it appears that the train station has been closed. He checked his phone''s notification and saw that the villain''s destruction had resulted in numerous fatalities as well as the collapse of certain businesses and structures. "Damn it." He blamed himself after witnessing the carnage and rage of the unidentified group of villains before the heroes showed up and captured some of them while the others ran away.. Yuta was unable to control his excitement as he entered the school. The busy students were bathed in a warm glow as the sun shone down on the courtyard. The prospect of the difficulties and exploits that lay ahead made his sand quirk quiver. You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story. Yuta was welcomed by his classmates in his homeroom class, each of them had their own peculiarities and aspirations to be heroes. They included Koji, who had the ability to control water, and Riku, who possessed the telekinetic quirk. In contrast to their ostentatious powers, Yuta''s sand quirk appeared commonplace, yet he was aware that his power went beyond that. Ms. Hikari announced the role call during class, during which students are asked to stand up, reveal their names, and spend 30 seconds showcasing their quirk. It was Yuta''s turn to show off his sand trick. Sand grains whirled around him as he concentrated, creating complex patterns and shapes in the atmosphere. The elegance and accuracy of his control caused the students to gasp in amazement. Not everyone was impressed, though. A pupil with a wind quirk named Riku mocked Yuta''s skills. "Sand is weak and boring," Riku said disdainfully. Yuta, however, was undaunted and resolved to demonstrate that his quirk was equally as powerful as any other. The school day flew by as he packed up his belongings and left the school grounds. Yuta left for a walk after six o''clock in the evening, his face hidden by his black hoodie. He clenched his fist in the back seat of the cab; "I wish I had the strength to have caught that girl right away, but I still lack it." As he asked the driver a question, he pondered in frustration. "What distinguishes a villain from a hero?" The cabbie was asked. "Well! In my opinion, a villain is a horrible person who uses violence to obtain anything, while a hero is someone who rescues others from danger and brings about peace.¡± Looking at Yuta in the rear seat reflected in the front mirror, the driver said. "So you''re saying that anyone who uses violence or force is a villain?¡± "I really won''t say that because this country is full of hate and malice, so you can say that a villain is someone who uses violence to try to get what they want and is driven by their own selfish desires, power, retaliation, or just plain malice.¡± ¡°This is the reason the world is corrupt. You can''t simply go and proclaim that someone is a villain because of their horrible deed. Or do you argue that every hero in his world hasn''t used violence at some point in their life? Whether being a child or as an adult?¡± As Yuta paid the driver and got out of the cab, he questioned the driver sternly about his promise and instructed him to stop at the intersection up ahead. Yuta brought down his hoodie covering his face as he made his way to the house. "Mom, I am back." With an exhausted voice, he exclaimed, went to his room, showered, and came downstairs for dinner. ¡°Welcome home, sweetie. Time for dinner.¡± Mom said as she dished the food on the plates. I quickly said "Itadakimasu" as I sat down and finished my meal. "Mom, do you think all heroes are good people and all villains are bad people?" I questioned, glancing at Mom. ¡°Huh! Where did that come from?¡± she said. ¡°I¡¯m just curious Mom.¡± "If I had to choose, not all heroes are good, and not all villains are terrible. We cannot pass judgment on them since you cannot know what is going through their head or what experiences have brought them to where they are now.¡± ¡°So what do you say about someone who appears and brings down the villains and evil heroes of the society?¡± "I will say that''s great, but that''s the work of a hero, which is why the nation has so many heroes in different places to bring justice and peace, not some random person or vigilante.¡± ¡°I¡¯ve got another question for you Mom since it¡¯s been bothering me for a while now.¡± ¡°Go on.¡± "I''m very thankful that you''ve been there for me, supporting and loving me through my academic endeavors and my solo quirk training. To be honest, though, Mom, I''m intrigued and would really like to learn martial arts so that I can defend and fight for the people I care about.¡± "Martial arts? Although I believe you are correct, I also believe that hiring a martial arts advisor at a young age is quite difficult. However, since I know someone who owns a dojo nearby, I believe I can find you the ideal person to assist you in your martial arts training if you truly meant what you said.¡± ¡°Well, if you say so Mom then that¡¯s fine by me.¡± I got up from the dining table, walked to my bedroom, and fell asleep¡ Chapter 8 - Legacy of Masters Need more advanced Chapters? Visit my P@t Patreon: Hunchovroy1 As per my typical schedule, I got up early and warmed up my body for today''s workout. After getting ready, I went straight to the living room to find my mother waiting for me on the couch, watching the news. After eating, my mother and I went to her car and drove to the train station. After we got out of the car, she went to get our train tickets. After purchasing our tickets, we boarded the train for a journey that lasted more than an hour. My mum started preparing to depart as the train reached our destination and announced our drop-off point. When the doors automatically opened, we arrived at our drop-off location, stepped off the train, and walked to the closest intersection. To make sure we didn''t lose our track, she took her phone out of her purse and looked at the location seeing it''s the right one. After a few minutes, she approached me and remarked, her expression solemn."Yuta, are you certain you want to learn a martial art or how to fight?¡± ¡°Sure mom, I¡¯m not mistaken.¡± ¡°Additionally, I must issue a brief warning to you. The training you''ve been doing since you first began manifesting your quirk is nothing like martial art, and you may experience some setbacks, but don''t let that deter you, okay?¡± ¡°Thanks mom for the little advice.¡± ¡°You¡¯re welcome and don''t come home crying to me.¡± She teased. We concluded our little conversation and continued our journey. As we got out of the car and Mom paid the driver, we came to a junction. As my mother continued to explain things to me and I continued to concentrate on our journey towards the neighboring woodland, we kept walking beside a few buildings. ¡°Get yourself ready, Yuta! We''re present.¡± She said. I stretched for a few seconds to warm up my body and prepared myself. "I''m ready, Mom." She smiled at me before approaching the front of the wooden structure that had the words "Isshin Dojo" etched on its top. Mom knocked on the dojo door twice, and then the doors slowly opened as a bald-haired man smiled and came out to greet Mom and I. ¡°Long Time no see, dear friend of mine.¡± The bald haired man said while smiling towards my mom as he shook hands with her. "Isshin, a long time has passed. You seem as healthy as you have been over the years.¡± Mom greeted him. I gazed in disbelief as I watched the two of them shake hands together while she introduced me to the bald-haired man. "This is Isshin, the dojo''s owner, a good friend of mine and your father, Yuta." she said. "Isshin-san, nice to meet you, Yuta." I kept it brief and bowed my head in deference.Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. ¡°Young Yuta, nice to meet you.¡± Isshin said, closing his eyes as he shook my hand. "I take it that you''re here to practice martial arts?" He went on. ¡°Yes sir.¡± "If I may ask, could you explain why you chose to learn martial arts at such a young age and what your goals are at this dojo?¡± "I want to learn how to defend and fight for the people I care about." I spoke briefly while maintaining a fixed gaze on him. ¡°I''m glad to hear that, but don''t expect me to be forgiving just because you''re here.¡± ¡°Yes, sir. It''s good to meet you again, and I appreciate you taking care of me.¡± I gave Isshin a courteous bow, and I also gave my mother, who was observing us, the same gesture. Mom and Isshin talked a little while she walked to a far end of the dojo. I trailed behind him as he introduced me to the other trainees inside the dojo. ¡°Let¡¯s get started since you¡¯re already here, Yuta.¡± He said. ¡°Yes sir.¡± I replied. ¡°First, what kind of quirk are you gifted from your parents?¡± He asked. ¡°A sand quirk.¡± I lift up my hands and change the sand into different shapes. ¡°Okay that¡¯s good, so I¡¯ll let you know that whatever training you¡¯ll be doing for now you are being forbidden to use your quirk. It¡¯s that understood?¡± ¡°Yes sir.¡± I bowed my head and said.¡¯This gonna be hell on earth.¡¯ The sound of soft shuffling feet and the aroma of incense permeated the dojo''s air, fostering a disciplined and traditional atmosphere. Mom looked on proudly as I ventured into the realm of discipline and self-defence for the first time. I was excited and a little anxious as I saw the rows of kids rehearsing different forms and approaches. Sensing my desire to study, Isshin, the sensei, a knowledgeable and skilled martial artist, came up to me smiling. "I''ll have you begin with the fundamentals, such as your stances, punches, and kicks, Yuta. But before we get on to the standard fundamentals of martial arts, I''ll have you practice your endurance.¡± Isshin remarked while stroking his beard. ¡°Martial arts teach you how to defend yourself and maintain your fitness by teaching you various fighting techniques. You learn things like blocks, strikes, and stances. Similar to your starting positions, stances include front stance and horse stance. Your punches and kicks, such as a front kick or jab, are called strikes. Blocks, such as inner or high blocks, are meant to keep you safe from harm. Gaining a solid foundation and improving your martial arts skills over time are made possible by mastering these fundamentals.¡± I simply nodded and gave Isshin the thumbs up after he went over the fundamentals with me. As Isshin briefly explained everything to me, I started writing down every detail so that I could review the few fundamentals in my own spare time. After shutting off the notebook, I followed Isshin to my training location. There, I witnessed a few children who were larger than me engage in vicious combat before the larger child gave the other a roundhouse kick that rendered him unconscious. "Wow, that''s a really strong move." Isshin informed me that the other child is one of the few strongest souls in the dojo, but I couldn''t stop staring at what had just happened to him. I swallowed and put on my white doji costume. I rushed up to Isshin and yelled "Osu" while bowing. ¡°Since you are the lowest rank in this dojo, Yuta, you will need to begin with the basics in order to increase your endurance, agility, flexibility, and core strength¡ªwhich is the most crucial¡ªas well as perform push-ups, sit-ups, and squats. He yelled as we met eyes, and I politely answered."Osu.¡± Isshin-san instructed me to jog around the dojo at full speed as a warm-up before the rigorous training started. My eyes started spinning as if I were about to faint after running a lap. After taking a minute to collect my breath, I started running at full speed, only to see that I had barely completed a lap and a half. "Get up, brat, and go running!" As I finally got to my feet and began running, Isshin yelled. "Heavenly father, I believe my death is imminent." As I was sweating profusely from only two of the ten laps I had completed, the notion crossed my head. "S-Sensei, may I please have a little time out? I believe I''ve reached my limit." I collapsed on the ground, gasping for air like a rabid dog. "Brat, did you just say something? Do you suppose I put up with weakness in this dojo?¡± He yelled aggressively at me while I lay on the ground, powerless. "Oh no." With sweats streaming down my face, I despised myself for assuming that learning to fight wasn''t as difficult while oblivious to the consequences of everyone''s struggles, whether they were heroic or villainous. With enthusiasm, I got to my feet, felt my heartbeat echoing aloud, and started running, perspiring profusely. I fell to the ground in the middle of the dojo, exhausted and breathless, my heart racing like it was about to explode. The fear of my previous struggle was replaced by a feeling of serenity as I lay there on the floor, helpless. Isshin came over, grinning proudly, and spoke encouragingly in a soft voice. "That concludes your first day, so go relax while you can because things won''t be as simple as this tomorrow." I felt stunned and engrossed in the truth of tomorrow in that vulnerable moment. Chapter 9 - Balance of Powes Need more advanced Chapters? Visit my P@t Patreon: Hunchovroy1 In the morning, I resumed my rigorous training. I started running slowly around the dojo, sweating profusely as I caught my breath. After many trials and setbacks, I finished the ten circuits. As Isshin approached me and gave me a chop on the head while shouting at me to get up, complete the ten laps again, and push myself to the maximum in order to increase my stamina, I sat on the floor, gasping helplessly. I could feel his hideous eyes on me. Since I''m the weakest student in training in the dojo, I feel like I''m going to be eaten alive if I don''t get to be on par with the other kids. I''m not even close to the kids at the dojo in terms of stamina, flexibility, endurance, reflexes, durability, and agility, even if I''m a little older than them. I can tell how much the students at the dojo are willing to put in to become excellent martial arts senseis after they graduate. "I can''t lose to any of these kids." I got up and used my doji outfit to wipe the sweat from my face. I began running as my thoughts went blank, and the only thing that was on my mind was, "Surpass and be on the peak of this dojo." I didn''t care about anybody else or how strong the kids were in this dojo because I would be at the top and graduate before anyone else. "Frightful." Isshin muttered as he noticed the growing potential in my eyes, something he had never noticed in the eyes of the children in his dojo at the moment. "You''ll advance to the next level if you complete two more laps, kid." When he noticed that I was absorbed in my own world and not paying attention to him or my surroundings, he added words of support. ¡®Yuta, one more lap.¡¯ I thought as I concentrated on completing the drill since the tension was causing my limbs and lungs to overwork themselves without properly replenishing my body, and I was getting tired all the time. ¡°Sensei, I¡¯ve completed the task you gave me so I¡¯m ready to advance onward.¡± I said with my arms and knees on the floor breathing out loud hearing the sound of my heart beat. ¡°Thanks for persevering until the end, kid. Take a quick break for some water and return here on time. Do you get it? ¡°Osu.¡± I bowed down my head and dismissed myself for my one minute water break. "This is fantastic; I feel like my energy is rising." In the meantime, I started drinking enough water and took a few moments to gather myself. ¡®Let''s get going.¡± I hurried back to the dojo while whispering to myself. As Isshin started writing some names on a piece of paper, I hurried back to the dojo to watch the other children wrestle against one another. He looked at me and said, "Come forward, Yuta." I followed instructions and headed to the front. ¡°Yoshida, hurry up and don''t hold back since Yuta will be your sparring opponent in this duel.¡±He continued. ¡®Yes, I am aware that she is a girl, but it doesn''t give me any advantage over her. Therefore, I suppose I''ll give it everything I''ve got and, if necessary, employ sheer force.¡¯ We bowed to one another and Isshin replied, "Fight," as the concept was racing through my mind. The girl, Yoshida, crouching with her left fist out, established a position while I stood motionless. This content has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. We waited for a few seconds to see who would attack first, but she didn''t move an inch. I seized the chance to attack with all of my strength, leaped to my air and clenched my fist, only to discover that she hadn''t moved yet as she watched me in mid-air. "If you don''t learn to read your opponents'' movements, you''ll have a lot of openings. Don''t charge towards your opponents blindly." She sighed and launched an attack. Since it finished in a dramatic fashion, I was on the floor beneath her feet before I knew what had happened. "Well done, Yoshida." Isshin walked over to me and congratulated her on her simple victory, saying, "I asked you to duel her, but I guess you didn''t underestimate her, and that''s really great." You can now see how weaker you are than everyone else in this room. Pay close attention Yuta as I explain. ¡°Initially, you were unable to understand your opponent''s movements and charge towards her without much consideration, which ultimately contributed to your demise because you gave her plenty of opportunities to hit you, which she did quickly.¡± Yuta rose from the floor and trailed Isshin to a tiny chamber at the far end of the dojo. The space was crammed with gear and training supplies. "Let''s get started and give it your all because I''m going to train you differently than the other kids." "Oh," he said. The rigorous training started right away. In order for me to attain the proper stance, Isshin first began to structure my body. With my left hand outstretched, I squatted sideways and pushed my left leg forward. ¡°The term "fighting stance" is frequently used to describe the stance employed in martial arts. It is the starting point from which a person can move, defend, and attack with effectiveness. Depending on the situation and the martial art style, the fighting stance changes, but it is essential for battle readiness, agility, and balance.¡± I nodded and remained in my fighting position, Isshin clarified. "You must now repeat after me." As he assumed his fighting stance, he spoke. As I mimicked him in prefecture, switching both hands and legs, Isshin started to move and throw his hands into the air. As Isshin pulled out the punching bag, we continued doing it for over an hour. Learning martial arts presented both mental and physical difficulties. I practiced punches and kicks on a heavy bag during my first actual combat lesson. I started with the basics, the jab, cross, and front kick. It was thrilling every time I made contact with the bag with my fist. However, repetition was the key to ultimate expertise. Even though my muscles hurt after practicing these maneuvers for hours on end, I felt stronger and more self-assured with each hit. My tenacity was demonstrated by the bruises my knuckles sustained from the bag''s hit. In the weeks that followed, Isshin put me through a lot. Confronting him and holding sparring sessions. I soon discovered that physical strength wasn''t everything when I was competing against a more seasoned student. I discovered how to take advantage of their momentum by dodging blows rather than defending myself. A pivotal moment occurred when I executed a flawless counterattack after my opponent stumbled. I started to comprehend the profound philosophy of martial arts in addition to their physical skill. After training, Isshin frequently took the lead in discussions. "What does it mean to be strong?" he asked one day. At first, I said, "It means to be tough and defeat everyone!¡± Isshin, however, gave a soft smile. "Physical prowess is only one aspect of strength; another is understanding when to fight and when to back off. It lies in self-control and respect for both oneself and other people.¡± This lesson resonated with me. As the weeks went by, I started to adopt these principles. In the dojo, I made friends, and we worked on developing the mental toughness and technique needed for martial arts. They encouraged one another, told each other a few stories, and celebrated little victories. Training no longer felt like a chore but rather like a fun activity because of my newfound friendships. Isshin announced a local martial arts contest following months of preparation and dedication. Even the prospect of competing made my heart race. I had both thrill and dread¡ªexcitement at the chance to demonstrate my abilities and fear of failing. I worked out with Isshin more than ever before the tournament. Along with combat skills, he also practiced mindfulness, meditation, and breathing techniques to maintain composure under duress. He pictured himself standing on the mat, performing his technique perfectly, and reflecting on the idea that the experience itself was more important than the result. The day of the competition arrived. As parents and students came, the dojo was alive with activity. I channeled everything I had learnt as I stood trembling in his doji outfit. Sensei once said, "Fighting is about finding your center; focus on your breath, and let the world fade away." I thought of this as I warmed up. Competitors took their seats one by one. With my pulse racing, I stepped onto the mat when it was finally my turn. The match started once the judges gave their signals. Every block, every strike, and every evasion became automatic. My training, refined by innumerable hours of practice, unfolded like a lovely dance. Even though I was up against a strong foe, I kept my focus and remembered to breathe. I dodged blows, kicked hard, and applied the techniques I had learnt with Isshin. I didn''t place in the top ten or win the tournament in the end. I bowed to my opponent and the judges, a sense of fulfillment washed over me. I had battled with honor and spirit, and above all, I had not forgotten the values of respect and humility¡ Chapter 10 - The Art of Strike Need more advanced Chapters? Visit my P@t Patreon: Hunchovroy1 ¡ It had been weeks since Yuta''s mother had taken him to martial arts classes. For instance, martial arts differ from traditional workouts in that they need the use of total intelligence, self-defence, and the mastery of certain techniques, forms, etc. During practice and downtime, Yuta has been flowing with the other children at the dojo. Since Isshin has been teaching the young student how to get his stance to prefecture, the youngsters occasionally go around making fun of Yuta while also helping him practice. A stance in martial arts is a certain bodily position, especially related to the feet and legs, that provides a foundation for movement, balance, and technique execution readiness. The stances used in various martial arts can vary greatly and might highlight mobility, stability, or preparedness for attack or defense. The little boy started training with the other children in order to obtain their assistance in correcting his stance, which is one of the fundamentals of martial arts. "If you want to get your stance right, Yuta, you need to crouch down more." Desperate to fix his stance, Yuta was corrected by a boy with black hair, black eyes, and two small horns. While crouching below, he clenched his hands, stretching his right elbow backwards, thrusting his right hip backwards and left knee forward. "Well, I believe you''ve made some progress." The boy with the dark hair made a remark as he prepared for battle. ¡°Now you¡¯ve gotten your stance right , I¡¯ll teach you how to throw a punch while on your combat stance.¡± Isshin added while rubbing his bald head, ¡°Follow me.¡± He went inside a room filled with lots of training gear while the voice and footsteps of the other kids echoed all through the room as the atmosphere got densed. Isshin brought up a boxing bag while he crouched down to take his stance and clenched his fist as he struck the boxing bag again and again. ¡®Awesome.¡¯ ¡°Now, step up and take your stance, boy.¡± Isshin commanded while standing next to the young student. ¡°Osu.¡± Yuta shouted. While crouching down, Yuta took his combat stance he learned earlier and clenched his right fist and struck the boxing bag as his right wrist underwent a little fracture against the impact of the strong boxing bag. The boy fell down his knees gripping his right wrist in pain and agony as Isshin walked over to him and stretched the wrist putting it in position. The young boy felt much better as he got his wrists covered in bandages and got himself a spare 15 minute break until he began his training. Sitting down on a wooden bench at the extreme corner with a bottle of water on his mouth he began to examine the great view of the dojo seeing the other kids in action with absolute focus maintaining their combat stance while striking the air with their clenched fist over and over while some kids were dueling each other in a 1v1 as Isshin was supervising them and observing every moment of his student while applying some correction in every movements. ¡®It¡¯s almost time for today¡¯s training to end so I guess I¡¯ll give it my all in my comeback.¡¯ He began to motivate himself seeing the other kids giving it their all then he won¡¯t be left out. The young boy dropped the bottle of water and rushed back to his Sensei and joined them in their training. This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it. He let out a deep breath and crouched down once more to maintain his combat stance and clenched his fist while he began to strike the air with both fists as Isshin instructed. ¡®Phase one completed.¡¯ The young boy began to smile as he noticed he had perfected his stance after many trials of hardship and he was more fascinated about the situation and hoped to learn how to strike and kick very well. ¡°That¡¯s all for today¡¯s training so clean up and go take a good meal since your body needs that and make sure to rest while you can. That¡¯s all for today.¡± Isshin dismissed his student as all of them obeyed and made their way out of the dojo. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting an orange glow across the city, Yuta stepped out of the dojo, his body still buzzing from the intense training session. He had spent hours perfecting his martial arts techniques, each punch and kick fueled by his desire to become stronger. Today, he felt particularly accomplished, his mind racing with thoughts of becoming a strong martial artist, just like the ones he admired. Yuta sprinted through the streets. It was late, and the air was heavy with mist, casting an eerie glow under the dim streetlights. Yuta¡¯s thoughts drifte and the scolding he¡¯d probably get for being late¡ªagain. But he pushed those worries aside. The night was calm, or so he thought. He walked through the quiet alleyway, seeing some thugs smoking but paid no mind as he focused on his journey back home. ¡°I''m back, Mom.¡± He exclaimed as he opened the door and stepped inside the house. ¡°Welcome home, sweetie. How was your training today?¡± ¡°Eh, it was amazing, I mean I get to learn new tactics from Isshin.¡± ¡°That''s good to know! So go get your bath while I prepare some katsudon for dinner.¡± ¡°Sure mom, I appreciate it.¡± Yuta made his way to his bedroom upstairs as he shut the door behind me and leaned on the wall, gazing at the ceiling when his phone rang to his surprise. Yuta shocked his hands inside his pocket and brought out his phone, seeing the caller ID was Mei as he picked it up instantly. ¡°Sup, Mei.¡± Yuta greeted Mei with a tired tone. ¡°I''m good, you?¡± ¡°Eh, I''m fine, thanks. So what''s up?¡± ¡°I figured I should give you a call since it''s been a while since we talked and I want to tell you how excited I am for the upcoming U.A. examination.¡± ¡°Oh, that¡ Well, I can''t wait. I wanna show the whole world how strong I am and with you by my side, we''ll make an unbeatable duo.¡± ¡°That''s true, you know, I''ve been training alot all this while so I will be able to catch up to you and never be a burden to you.¡± ¡°Is that so? You know, I''ve never thought of you being a burden to me and if it gets wrong, I''ll protect you.¡± ¡°Really? That''s good to hear but I don''t need you to babysit me coz you know I''ve been training all this while and I can protect myself.¡± ¡°Then, that''s great¡ Anyways, what are you doing now?¡± ¡°Nothing much, Just ate my dinner and I''m watching the news right now.¡± ¡°Oh I see, well, I just got back from training and mom is preparing katsudon for me.¡± ¡°Katsudon? That sounds tasty ... .and why get back from training this late? I mean, you shouldn''t work yourself very hard and you should probably get yourself some rest.¡± ¡°Thanks for the advice but¡..if I don''t work myself to my limit, then I can''t be the greatest hero and I won''t be able to stand by you and protect those I care about.¡± ¡°Oh.¡± ¡°Yeah¡thanks for calling and I can''t wait to see how far your wax quirk has developed since we trained together.¡± ¡°It''s definitely gonna blow your mind, Yuta. I''ve leveled up so much and I can boldly say I''m way stronger than you currently.¡± ¡°Is that so? Well it''s not a bad thing to dream big.¡± ¡°What''s the meaning of that?¡± ¡°Since you think you''re stronger than me, then I''ll leave that to your imagination and when we meet soon, I''ll bring you out from your imagination.¡± ¡°Eh? Do you think I''m gonna lose to a crybaby?¡± ¡°Heheh, definitely.¡± ¡°Let''s see about that, weakling.¡± ¡°Sure¡ I''m gonna go take my bath and eat dinner so take care, Mei.¡± ¡°Sure.¡± Yuta sighed and hobbled to the toilet to take his bath as Mei ended the call. He spent some time in the bathroom, and when his nose caught the mouthwatering scent of katsudon in the kitchen, he headed downstairs when his stomach rumbled with hunger. As his mother brought him his hot and delicious katsudon, Yuta sat down. He eagerly consumed the dish, savoring the aroma of the katsudon. ¡°Don''t rush it, sweetie. There''s many more in the kitchen.¡± ¡°Then, can I have some more?¡± ¡°Sure.¡± His mom took his plate and dished a second round of katsudon to Yuta, who took his time and enjoyed the meal. ¡°Thanks for the food mom. It''s late, so switch off the tv right now and go to bed.¡± Mom ordered. ¡°Al¡right.¡± Yuta headed back to his bedroom as soon as his mom ordered and fell asleep. The sun was shining brightly in the horizon when Yuta woke up the following morning to the sounds of birds chirping. His body was dripping with sweat from the dream he experienced as he jerked out of bed. ¡®Thank God it''s a dream.¡¯ He did his usual morning routine and brushed his teeth before heading downstairs to get some milk to start the day. He started jogging through his neighborhood after finishing his milk and leaving the house for a quick warm-up. When he reached a certain point, he paused to gather his breath. After taking his time to regain composure, he decided to go back home to work on his quirk before going to the dojo. After arriving home, he took his time practicing his quirk more and made an effort to adhere to the procedure he had written down from his previous studies on his sand quirk. ¡°That''s tough.¡±After making numerous attempts and consistently failing at each one, he realized. ¡°That''s it for today.¡± He went inside his house to get his bath and made his way to Isshin Dojo. Getting to the dojo, he braced himself up and slid the door open. All attention turned towards Yuta as he made his entrance and quickly changed to his doji uniform. He focused and adopted the combat position he had mastered after numerous attempts and setbacks without letting up. Following the same procedure as the other children, he began tossing several punches into the air. Isshin stood at the left corner of the dojo glancing at the kids as they all perfected their strikes and kicks including Yuta who was a newbie. After a lot of training in the dojo, Isshin dismissed everyone as Yuta made his way back home without wasting much time. His breath was labored, and as the adrenaline in his body wore off, exhaustion set in. After a hard day of training in the dojo, he finally made it home and instantly napped in the living room. He opened his eyes and gazed at the clock seeing it was 4:15 pm as he ran to the refrigerator and microwave something to eat. When his phone buzzed with a notification, he hurried over and scooped it up from the couch. ¡°Hmm?¡± He saw a lot of missed calls from an unknown number but he quickly recognized the number was foreign. Yuta gazed at the foreign number on his phone, wondering who it may be. His smartphone buzzed again with the same foreign number just as he was ready to put it down, and he took the call hesitantly. ¡°H-Hello.¡± Yuta said with a low tone. ¡°I''m I speaking with Yuta?¡± ¡°Hmm? Tears slid down his face as he began to mourn the death of his friend. ¡®Why can''t it be me? Why can''t it be someone else? Why was it her? My only friend who stayed by my side since we were kids and even got to celebrate my birthday with me? Mei ... .why did you decide to leave me?¡¯ Yuta cursed himself as tears slid down his face. Yuta cried for over 30 minutes as his consciousness faded away and collapsed to the floor. Yuta, as a kid, has never thought of how it feels to lose someone so important and that made him fall into a nightmare and that haunted him for a while. Few hours later, his mom drove back from work and entered the house but to her surprise, she saw her son lying unconsciously on the floor with tears in his face. ¡°Yuta!¡± She exclaimed in shock as he dropped her purse on the floor and charged towards her son. ¡°Yuta! He closed his eyes and stretched out his right hand as sand aroused mid-air while he shapeshifted the sand into different types of objects for a few minutes and slumber off. The sun dipped low in the sky, casting long shadows over the small park where Yuta sat alone. His fingers sifted through the sand beneath him, the grains slipping away like water through a sieve. Yesterday had changed everything. His best friend¡ªhis confidant¡ªwas gone. Taken by an accident so sudden, it felt like the world had been ripped from under his feet. She had been the only one who believed in him when others feared his quirk. ¡°Your sand isn¡¯t just a weapon, Yuta,¡± she¡¯d once said, her smile as bright as the summer sun. ¡°It¡¯s art. You just need to learn how to sculpt it.¡± Now, that voice was silenced, and Yuta felt the crushing weight of her absence. But he wasn¡¯t about to let her down. If she had believed in him, then he had to believe in himself. After school, Yuta retreated to an open field on the outskirts of town. It was a quiet place, far from prying eyes, where he could practice without fear of hurting anyone. His quirk, allowed him to manipulate sand, but control had always been his weakness. This tale has been unlawfully lifted without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. Yuta took a deep breath, closing his eyes. He envisioned the sand swirling around him, forming into shapes with precision and grace. Slowly, he raised his hand, and the sand at his feet began to rise, swirling into a spiraling column. ¡°Stay steady,¡± he murmured to himself. The column wavered, then collapsed into a heap. Yuta groaned, frustration bubbling to the surface. He crouched down, grabbing a handful of sand. ¡°If I can¡¯t control this, what good am I?¡± The words hung in the air, heavy with doubt. But then, he remembered her voice, her unshakable faith in him. ¡°You¡¯re not a quitter,¡± he whispered, clenching his fists. He tried again, this time focusing on smaller shapes. The sand responded, forming into a solid cube, then a sphere. It was perfect, but it was progress. Yuta¡¯s evenings were spent at Isshin Dojo, a place of discipline and tradition. It was his choice which had encouraged him to join months ago, as it would teach him focus and control. The dojo was a stark contrast to the chaotic energy. Its wooden floors were polished to a shine, and the air was filled with the faint scent of incense. Isshin-sensei, the master of the dojo, was a stern man with a calm demeanor that demanded respect. ¡°Late again, Yuta,¡± Isshin-sensei said as Yuta slipped through the doors. ¡°Sorry, Sensei,¡± Yuta mumbled, bowing low. The older man studied him for a moment, then gestured toward the training mat. ¡°You¡¯ve been distracted lately. If you¡¯re here, I expect your full attention.¡± Yuta nodded, stepping onto the mat. The evening¡¯s lesson focused on sparring techniques. Yuta paired up with a taller boy named Daichi, who smirked as they squared off. ¡°Ready to lose again?¡± Daichi taunted. Yuta ignored the jab, his focus sharpening. The two began circling each other, and when Daichi lunged, Yuta moved with surprising agility, deflecting the strike. ¡°Better,¡± Isshin-sensei said from the sidelines. ¡°But don¡¯t just react. Anticipate.¡± Yuta nodded, adjusting his stance. This time, when Daichi attacked, Yuta stepped in close, using the momentum to sweep the taller boy off his feet. The match ended with Daichi on the floor, grumbling under his breath. ¡°Good,¡± Isshin-sensei said. ¡°But you¡¯re still holding back.¡± Yuta frowned. He knew what the sensei meant. He had never used his quirk during sparring. It felt unfair¡ªand dangerous. The next evening, Yuta stayed behind after class. ¡°I want to try using my quirk,¡± he told Isshin-sensei. The older man raised an eyebrow but nodded. ¡°Very well. Start small.¡± Yuta stepped onto the mat, his heart pounding. He released a small stream of sand from the pouch he always carried, letting it swirl around him. ¡°Good. Now, use it to enhance your defense,¡± Isshin-sensei instructed. When Isshin-sensei struck with a wooden staff, Yuta¡¯s sand moved instinctively, forming a barrier. The force of the strike sent vibrations through the sand, but it held firm. ¡°Now, offense.¡± Yuta hesitated, then directed the sand forward in a whip-like motion. It struck the staff with a loud crack, causing Isshin-sensei to nod in approval. ¡°You¡¯re starting to understand,¡± he said. ¡°Your quirk isn¡¯t separate from your martial arts. It¡¯s an extension of them.¡± Weeks passed, and Yuta¡¯s progress was undeniable. He began integrating his quirk into his training, creating sand shields, weapons, and even diversions during sparring matches with Isshin after everyone has dismissed themselves. But every night, when the dojo emptied, Yuta stayed behind, pushing himself harder. He practiced until his muscles ached and his control over the sand grew sharper. One evening, as he stood alone on the mat, he shaped the sand into a delicate sculpture. ¡°I¡¯m going to make you proud,¡± he whispered. The sand held its shape for a moment before collapsing, but Yuta didn¡¯t mind. He knew he was getting stronger¡ªnot just for himself, but for her. Yuta¡¯s journey was far from over. He still had moments of doubt, times when the weight of his loss threatened to overwhelm him. But every grain of sand he shaped was a reminder of his promise. He wasn¡¯t just a boy with a quirk anymore. He was a martial artist, a fighter, and a friend determined to honor her memory. And as he stood in the fading light of the dojo, the sand swirling around him like a living thing, Yuta knew he was ready for whatever came next. Yuta exited the dojo when he noticed the day was getting dark and made his way home as he thought about the moment he had first joined the dojo and noticed how far he has improved not only with his quirk but as a fighter. He got home late, seeing his mom in the living room drinking black coffee when she turned her gaze towards him. ¡°Welcome home, sweetie.¡± ¡°I''m back home, mom.¡± ¡°How was your martial art training today? And how do you feel graduating tomorrow?¡± ¡°It was fabulous, mom. I did some sparring with Isshin after the other kids went home and he allowed me to use my quirk.¡± ¡°Really? That''s great. So?¡± ¡°I''m glad I will be graduating tomorrow but I''ll miss Isshin and the other kids thou.¡± ¡°Figure that out. Anyways, go take your bath and come eat your dinner.¡± ¡°Sure.¡± Yuta did as he was ordered by his mom and have is dinner. He went back to his room as he started thinking of a better speech he was to represent as he graduates. ¡°Is there any need for a speech?¡± He murmured to himself when he couldn''t think of anything to say. What a disturbance He stayed awake for a while thinking of what to say when he finally made up his mind after jotting down his speech on a piece of paper. ¡°Tomorrow is gonna be a long day.¡± He hissed as he laid on his bed to get himself prepared for tomorrow.. He ran downstairs seeing his mother dishing his breakfast at the dining table and greeted his mom while taking his seat. ¡°Mom. I believe you should be named the world''s greatest chef.¡± While enjoying his delectable meal, he said. ¡°Aww. Thank you sweetheart!¡± Mom flustered at the word of Yuta and thanked him sincerely. ¡°So how is your martial art training going with Mr. Isshin?¡± The mom asked. Yuta snubbed his mom as he took the last portion of his breakfast and said a quick ¡®Itadakimatsu¡¯. ¡°Yes mom. My martial art training has been progressing for a while now.¡± Yuta replied. ¡°That¡¯s good to know. So how about the other kids? Do you cope with them outside of training?¡± ¡°Sure mom! They helped me perfect my combat stance and we all shared stories amongst ourselves. They told me how long they¡¯ve been training at Isshin sensei¡¯s dojo and how Isshin scolded them at the very start they started learning martial arts.¡± Yuta explained with a smile on his face. ¡°Awwn, that¡¯s good to hear and I¡¯m glad you made some martial arts friends you can share your stories with.¡± Mom spoke. ¡°Thanks mom.¡± ¡°You seem to have grown up just as much as I anticipated.¡± Mom said, ¡°Well,That''s quite admirable of you, son. You should always follow your heart if you believe it would help you and avoid being tricked by individuals.¡± Mom added. ¡°Sure mom.¡± He said. ¡°So, get going for your training since today is your last day at Isshin¡¯s dojo.¡± Mom pushed him. ¡°Alright mom, I love you.¡± Yuta waved as he exited the house. ¡°Love you too.¡± Mom said while waving him off. Yuta took a taxi down to the train station and bought his tickets and boarded the train. The train rode for some while and got to his destination. He stood up from his seat and exited the train and made his way down to the dojo¡¯s. Getting there he stood for a second to calm himself down and walked inside the dojo greeting everyone sincerely. ¡°Good Morning everyone.¡± Yuta said his greetings. This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience. ¡°Goodmorning Yuta.¡± Everyone exclaimed back to him happily as he went to change into his doji training uniform. He started with a few light stretches and began jogging around the dojo until Isshin was present. ¡°Settle down young martial artists.¡± Isshin ordered as he came inside the dojo. Everyone stood still waiting for what their sensei had to say. ¡°Today, as Yuta graduates from this dojo, he will either go on to become a martial artist, hero, or villain. We are pleased to have someone with your level of bravery and guts. You''ve demonstrated courage for us, so I hope you apply what you''ve learnt here for the greater good..¡± Isshin made his announcement as everyone applauded him. ¡°So let¡¯s welcome our brother here to speak on whatever he has to say.¡± He added. Yuta walked up to the front where Isshin was standing as he cleared his throat and bowed down to the audience before speaking. ¡°To my fellow young talented martial artists here, I hereby say a very big thanks for what you guys have taught me, the stories we shared, the fun times and also the tough time training and dueling with each other. Today I will be leaving this great dojo and sharing my experience with the outside world and also wish to take my martial art training and experience further. So from the depth of my heart and to Isshin sensei, I want to say a big thank you for this amazing chance you gave me.¡± Yuta paid his respect to everyone. ¡°Come over here, Yuta.¡± Isshin ordered as Yuta ran towards him. ¡°So what will you do after this?¡±Isshin asked again but this time privately. ¡°I really wish to take my experience and martial art further. I wish to know and learn more about martial arts.¡± Yuta spoke respectfully. ¡°Then if you wish to know more about martial arts I can direct you to an old man of mine who can sharpen your skills but if he doesn''t find any potential in you, you¡¯ll be kicked out.¡± He became serious as Yuta grin widened to see what kind of monster awaits him. ¡°Sure, I wish to meet him.¡± Yuta replied. ¡°Then take this and email him whenever you¡¯re ready.¡± Isshin gave out his old man¡¯s email to Yuta. ¡°Thank you sensei.¡± He bowed respectfully and exited the dojo to see what kind of monster he''s been referred to¡. Yuta left the dojo with his belongings and went to his solace to train more about his quirk. Yuta began with a breathing exercise to center his mind and sync his movements with the rhythm of the sand. He spread his legs into a balanced stance and slowly raised his arms, commanding the grains of sand to rise and mirror his movements. ¡°Control is the key,¡± he muttered. His sensei¡¯s words echoed in his mind: "Without control, power is just chaos." The sand formed tendrils around his arms, moving as if part of his body. He transitioned into basic punches and kicks, making the sand replicate the arcs of his strikes. Each jab was accompanied by a sharp flick of a sand whip, and every kick followed through with a sweeping crescent of sand. At first, the sand lagged, its movements slightly offbeat. ¡°No, flow with me,¡± Yuta growled, focusing harder. He adjusted his movements to be smoother, imagining the sand as an extension of his muscles. Soon, the lag disappeared, and the sand moved in perfect harmony with him. Yuta shifted to more advanced techniques, focusing on combining the fluidity of his quirk with the hard, explosive power of martial arts. He executed a spinning roundhouse kick, releasing a spiral of sand mid-motion. The attack created a vortex that could disorient an opponent. Next, he practiced grappling techniques. He crouched low and mimicked pulling an opponent off-balance, commanding the sand to coil around an invisible foe¡¯s legs. The sand formed thick cords, tightening as he visualized immobilizing his target. He leapt forward, transitioning into a palm strike, and the sand shot forward like a battering ram. His body ached from the repetition, but he pushed on. He needed these movements to become the world''s strongest. Taking a moment to catch his breath, Yuta moved to defensive techniques. He surrounded himself with a sphere of sand, leaving just enough visibility to monitor his surroundings. As he shadowboxed within the sphere, he practiced redirecting incoming ¡°attacks¡± by shifting the sand barrier. He imagined an enemy throwing a punch. With a sharp motion, he directed the sand to deflect the blow, then followed up by sending a spike of sand toward his imagined assailant. ¡°Defense isn¡¯t just about blocking,¡± he reminded himself. ¡°It¡¯s about creating openings.¡± Yuta envisioned an opponent closing in for a grapple. He dispersed his sand barrier into a wide cloud, blinding his enemy. Using the distraction, he lunged forward, performing an elbow strike and commanding the sand to follow with a crushing wave. To refine his quirk further, Yuta set up small targets around the training field¡ªstones balanced on wooden poles. He stood in the center, eyes closed, and raised his hands. The sand moved as an extension of his awareness, weaving through the air toward the targets. He flicked his wrist, and a tendril of sand shot forward, knocking the first stone off its perch. A second flick, and another stone fell. His movements grew faster, each strike accompanied by a sharp exhale. By the time he opened his eyes, all the stones had been knocked down. As the sun dipped below the horizon, Yuta collapsed onto the ground, his chest heaving. The field bore the marks of his efforts¡ªcraters, scattered sand, and shattered poles. He gazed at the sky, a sense of pride swelling within him. ¡°I¡¯m getting there,¡± he said softly. ¡°But there¡¯s still more to learn.¡± Yuta knew that integrating his sand quirk with martial arts would take time and discipline. Every punch, kick, and grain of sand needed to work in harmony. But he also knew that with each day of training, he was becoming stronger¡ªnot just in body, but in mind. And one day, he would be unstoppable.
