    The sound of the alarm resounded in my ears as I got out of bed.


    ¡°Today¡¯s is the day¡± I thought. I hurried and got dressed, ready for what could either be the best or worst day of my life. I enter my rooms en suite bathroom and looked in the mirror at my reflection. A tall, skinny fat boy, freshly 18 with dark brown frizzy hair, and light brown eyes looked back at me. I¡¯ve always been skinny fat, no matter how much I workout I never seem to lose the weight. I put on a tank top then my school uniform a plain white button down with the school logo embroidered on it, and black dress pants.


    I heard my mom calling me for breakfast so I quickly put on my shoes and headed down stair''s. I sat down at the counter and looked at my plate filled with scrambled eggs. My mom looked at me and smiled.


    ¡±Are you nervous¡± she asked


    ¡±Ya, it feels like my heart will beat out of by chest¡± I responded

    I hurriedly finished my breakfast and told my mom goodbye as I ran not to miss the train. I got to the station just in time and boarded.     For my whole childhood year basketball was my passion. I put my heart in to training to get better. But during my freshman year something i call my curse appeared. I hit a wall and no matter how much I practiced I couldn¡¯t get better. Tryouts were coming up and I was falling behind.


    Earlier in the year I meet a boy who would later become by best friend His name is Jack. He had a gift he barely had to practice but basketball skill improved by the day. He was always better than me at basketball. No matter how much time I put in to get better the wall stopped me from improving.


    When tryouts finally rolled around I didn¡¯t make the team while he did. My passion disappeared and as a kid who life revolved around basketball it was like I failed at my purpose. My mom who had enough of me rotting bed the rest of the day after school, told to join a club at my school so I might find a new passion.


    later that week I decided to join the music club. The second I entered I could tell I was out of place, everyone was already in groups playing there instrument of choice and didn¡¯t even know what I wanted to play. I looked around and saw that the closest instrument was the piano. I walked over and sat down on the old black chair in front of the piano.


    I sat there awkwardly for a while till a girl with strawberry blond hair and freckles sat next me and started talking. I remember this part the most clearly I asked her why she decided to sit by me and she said it was because I was just sitting there looking at the piano with determination. She started showing me the basics of piano when she say my hands she teasingly told me I had the hands of a prince. I picked up the basics quickly and before I knew it the club was over. I asked her named as we were leaving and she introduced her self as Abby. That was when I fell in love.

 Best/worst day 2

    The train jolted shacking me from my reminiscing. After two years Abby finally told us she would confess today. The hope and fear mixed but finally hope won out. The train stopped and I exited walking a short distance my school came into view. Beesworth private school a high school almost the size of a university it is known for its reputation to break people with its brutal social landscape. As I passed through the gates I looked at the giant windows that allowed to see the commons. As I entered I thought about what will happen if she chooses jack over me I lost many friends in my single minded pursuit of her love. When I thought about is I realized Abby and Jack were the only friends I still had. Now that possibility of not being chose is so close I realize I should have kept more of my relationships going instead of abandoning them to chase Abby.


    I hurried to my class and the day went by in a blur until I lunch as was pushing my way through the crowd I noticed a space where everyone cleared. Looking over people heads I saw It was Abby and Jack. Getting closer I heard there conversation


    ¡°Jack I love you, will you go out with me¡±


    As soon as I heard those word it felt as if my heart got hollowed out. I let the crowd push me forward and found a seat in the back of the cafeteria. I never really thought that she would choose anyone until I heard those words, I thought the happy times of the three of hanging out would never end. The rest of the I don¡¯t remember I felt like a zombie that had no reason to live. It hit me again that I have no other friends, no one to comfort me and tell me there will be another girl for me. No friends to tell me she¡¯s choosing the worseoption.     The rest of the school day went by in a painful blur. I rushed to the train station to get home. Jack showed up and started talking to me


    ¡°Are you okay, in class you didn¡¯t do an-¡° he was saying till I cut him off.


    ¡°Why couldn¡¯t you just let me win for once! When you were on the basketball team living my dream I was happy for you. I really was. But you decided to quit mid season to join the music club. Do you know what it feels like to see someone throw away your dream, it was like you spit in my face. But no, that¡¯s not all you know plenty of girls like you, but no you have to go for the only girl I like!¡± Before he could respond I turned and ran. I don¡¯t stop until I reached my house, I went in and straight to my room ignoring my mom¡¯s questions.


    Thinking I should have known jack is better looking than me and better at everything except piano. I realized the only thing going for me was my height. I took a second to breathe I realized I should apologize I grabbed my phone to see they both blocked me. I felt empty in side for the first time since tryouts. I layed there till I fell asleep. The next day I woke up got dressed I went to school. I didn¡¯t even eat breakfast I just left. While I was walking to school I them holding hands and smiling all I could do was look down and keep walking. During my first period an emergency lockdown down was called. We all sat there confused the teacher said with a grim face


    ¡°Zombies are real¡±

    The teachers lead us to the cafeteria all the tables have pushed to cover the window leaving the room bare. I sat down in the corner and looked around it seemed that almost everyone else had already grouped up leaving me alone. Suddenly the sound of the crowd decreased as a group of students walked in. The crowd parted letting them through, it was our schools student council a group that held a moderate amount of power in that school. There president broke of from the group and stood in the center of the room.


    ¡°Fellow students the teachers have left to go find the military station told to us through the radio¡± he said in a load voice that didn¡¯t match his skinny build. The atmosphere of the room relaxed as the idea of help soothed our minds.


    ¡°We have been left in charge, our main topic today is groups to go out and get supplies. We know he have enough now but it will be optimal to go and get more before there are more zombies.¡± The once hopeful atmosphere changed to one of worry.


    ¡°Who will go out?¡± A cowardly student asked.


    ¡°We will vote, I refuse to abandon the order of our world. I will not allow us to turn into animals that will kill, rape, and only live off instincts. Tomorrow at noon we will vote. I say we need at least four people and to prove to all you that we aren¡¯t rigging it in our favor we will vote on of our own.¡± The rest of the student council look shocked and looked at each other silently. The student council president walked away back to the student government room.


    Student council president POV


    Kai Acree had always been outfit of place until now. He got his spot as student council president by sucking up to teachers and ratting out others. He didn¡¯t enjoy it but the Acree family was know for there ability to put aside there pride and say and do what ever to reach there goals.


    As I now walk back to the classroom he smiled at the discourse my sudden declaration created through out there group. I did this so that I could see the true face of all the members. My plan was to let the otherstudents create group and elect leaders, and through time and effort make them all divide into different factions. Then he would put them through trials testing there bonds and creating betrayals to finally see who got crushed and who was my equal. All this to build a new world a world where nobody will be ahead just because the born to the right people.     When we finally reached the classroom I enter and sat down at the teachers desk. As the rest entered I knew that all the members wouldn¡¯t accept my decision. So I started the vote.


    It started of tame as myself and most of the other high ranking members got no votes. Then a little discourse from the students in middle positions.  But the show started when we got to the newer low positionsmembers. The argue ment was between three of the members, Isabel a popular girl who had light brown hair that was put in a pony tail, blue eyes, and a smiled that lit up the room. Hailey a very shy girl who barely talked. Most of the boys on the council only talked to her because she had boobs to big for her short frame. Her dark brown hair was put in two braids that went down to her armpits and old fashion librarian glassessat awkwardly on her face. Finally Adam probably the most popular boy in the student council his curly black hair sat on his head in a tangle hiding his eyes and his clothes couldn¡¯t hide his good physique. He was a member of the wrestling team and wasn¡¯t apart of the council during winter.


    ¡°I hate you¡± Isabel yelled at Hailey who sat in the corner looking like a scared deer.


    ¡°You knew I liked him and still lead him on, you are a manipulative bitch who lives for attention!¡± Isabel yelled with tears in hear eyes. Hailey looked at Adam with a look of pure hate. Adam stood in the corner looking down, silent.


    ¡°Adam why don¡¯t you like me, I pay attention when you talk to me I even buy you lunch everyday while she just sits there and barely even talks to you¡± Isabel said in a sad hollow tone


    ¡°S-s-she told me that you were a prostitute that only wanted money out of me¡± Adam said in a nervous . ¡°She said that you would b-b-b-blackmail me if I slept with you¡± he said looking at Isabel with a pleading look. Anyone who was more than a acquaintance would know this was obviously a lie.


    Everyone looked at Hailey in disbelief and promptly voted her as the one who would go out.


    ¡°He is lying, I swear I said no such thing, I didn¡¯t talk to him cause I knew he only wanted my body. Please don¡¯t make me go out there I¡¯m begging you.¡± Hailey pleadedwith the most emotion the have ever seen from her.


    ¡°Quiet¡± I said ¡°The vote has been cast there nothing you can do about it now.¡± The whole room looked and me. I got up and left disappointed in the whole council, they thought Adam was lying and still they voted Hailey out. Not because Adam was really telling the truth.

    Ren POV


    I jolted awake I realized it was morning. I fell asleep shortly after the student council presidents speech. I wasn¡¯t worried about the vote I wasn¡¯t popular but I didn¡¯t thank I had a bad reputation. But still the time flew by it was time before I knew it. The student council enter the cafeteria with a short girl with glasses at the front of them. She looked terrified so I guessed she was the student councils choice.


    ¡°Everyone the voting will begin now¡± said the student council president as he appeared in the front of group. The voting began. The middle of the cafeteria was empty and everyone sat in a big circle around it. A big white board was hauled and put in the middle of the cafeteria. The people with the most votes names would be written on it. when it was my turn I confidently stood up.


    ¡°Hands!¡± Said the president. To my horror more than I could ever imagine hands rose. Looking around I saw that among the crowd Abby raised her hand. Next to her Jack looked at her hand clearly disgusted. I decided to ignore them and look and the council president.


    ¡°You can sit¡± said with a look of pity. The third person with a lot of votes was a boy named Corbin most knew him as a delinquent. His blond curly hair stood frizzy and unmanageable in a tangle on his head.


    ¡°I will kill all the fuckers that voted for me when I get back mark my words¡± Corbin yelled as he sat down.


    The fourth most voted was someone ever called the Hyena. The rumor was the he got expelled from the top school in the nation and was sent here. He was tall and very skinny, he had his black hair buzzed. When it was decided that he would go he sat down with a wicked smile on his face.


    ¡°The four of you with the most votes follow me¡± the president said. He lead us to the student government room where all kinds of weapons and protective gear where played on tables inside.     ¡°Try to get survival supplies from the near by camping store as your main priority. Then canned food, granola bars and water from the super market next. We don¡¯t need a crazy amount just get as much as you can safely¡± the president said as he walked us to the main gate.


    He wished us luck as we set off. As we started walking as a group Corbin started talking


    ¡°I¡¯m going to find a pack of cigarettes the rest of you can go follow the geeks orders¡± he said.


    ¡°I¡¯ll go with you I need a good smoke¡± the Hyena said and the two of them walked towards an empty drug store. I looked over too the girl and asked


    ¡°What¡¯s your name?¡±


    ¡°Hailey, yours¡± she replied in a small voice.


    ¡°Ren¡± I told her.


    ¡°We should just go to the camping store get what we need and leave as fast as possible¡± she said


    ¡°Yeah let¡¯s hurry¡± I replied. We started off towards the camping store. We walked through the parking lot abandoned cars surrounded us as we reached the entrance. We entered to see that it was already picked through. We searched around the best things we found were a portable stove, 3 mini propane tanks, and a med kit. I put all of it in my empty backpack. We left the building and started to walking to the grocery store when I say it a hoard of the undead. The skin lose around their face was a light grey color. There eyes where white as snow and the smell of rotting flesh filled the air.


    ¡°Run!¡± I yelled to her. We both started running and we were gaining distance, but there was one zombie it was skinnier and taller than the others and had no hair, the skin witch the others was lose and wrinkled, its was tight and stretched across it face. It ran with a desperation I¡¯ve had never seen before. It was catching up with us. It screamed and lunged towards Hailey grabbing her foot. She fell and started kicking at it with all her might. But that did nothing to the zombie runner. I stopped and ran towards her and with something I didn¡¯t know I had within me I grabbed the knife from my waist and stabbed it in the head.


    ¡°Are you hurt¡±  I said as I helped her up.


    ¡°The skin on my knees ripped off when I fell¡± she said showing me the bleeding mess where her knees should be. I open my bag and grabbed the med kit. I poured alcohol on a cotton pad and put it on her knee. She screamed as I quickly did the other. I wrapped her leg and Hellen her up.


    ¡°Thanks¡± she said. And we switched directions to walk toward the drug store. As she walked behind me I swore she said
