《The Chosen By. GNC》 The Time Keeper ¡°So that¡¯s how it is!¡± A dark voice came from the tree line of the small open field, a man dressed in all black wearing a purple cloak came walking. ¡°I see now, you¡¯re just going to hide here to make us think you¡¯ve retreated.¡± He said with a slight grin. A rugged man with silver hair stood and turned away from the campfire he once sat at. ¡°So you were able to find us. Pretty impressive for a Zibiru scumbag, even if you are the chieftain.¡± The man blew into the kudu horn he was holding in his hands to gain the attention of his men. ¡°Tayaire the Timekeeper, It looks like your time has finally come!¡± The rugged man stood speaking with a confident shout. Tayaire drew his weapon from a small sheath on his left shoulder, It was a Karambit that he connected to a thin but sturdy chain. Men came running from several hidden locations, Surrounding Tayaire in a matter of seconds leaving him with nowhere to flee. He spoke under his breath, ¡°Kuma, you fool, you already know how this will end; what are you planning.¡± ¡°Sorry, my hearing must be going dull with age. What did you just say?¡± Kuma asked with a smug tone. ¡°Oh, my bad did I say something?¡± Tayaire responded, trying to make light of his current situation; he never had to face a group this large on his own. Tayaire couldn¡¯t help but smirk as he assessed his surroundings. Just moments ago, he had envisioned a mere six men gathered around a campfire near the Zibiru tribe¡¯s settlement. Now, faced with over thirty formidable opponents, he felt a rush of adrenaline. ¡°Looks like these visions are playing tricks on me,¡± he thought with a chuckle, fully aware that charging into battle alone would be a gamble. As he surveyed the twenty or so men in front of him, he sensed the auras of nine more lurking in the trees, and confidence surged within him. Tayaire was no stranger to challenges, and this moment only fueled his determination. The odds might seem against him, but he was ready to turn the tide. He spoke up, ¡°If this is the way things are going to play out, I hope you are aware of the consequences that come with your actions. You and your followers will not survive the night!¡± Kuma pulled a Flyssa from the sheath on his back and pointed it at Tayaire. ¡°The first person who brings me the head of Tayaire Zibiru will be awarded in abundance! Now kill him!¡± As he spoke these words, shouts rang out all around Tayaire. The Zibiru head warrior prepared himself for a fight, but what he didn¡¯t know was that he wasn¡¯t the only one under siege. ¡°The child who is not embraced by the village and cast out will one day return to burn it down to feel its warmth.¡± A woman spoke softly, her voice barely above a whisper, as she recited the final words from an old book. She glanced down at her two-year-old son, peacefully asleep in his bed. ¡°Oh, you¡¯re already asleep? I know you usually want me to read this book a couple more times,¡± she said gently. With tender care, she tucked a small silk blanket over him and made her way toward the door. ¡°Now, let me go check on Daddy and your brother,¡± she added with a warm smile, blowing out the candle¡¯s light as she prepared to leave the room. Just as she closed the door, a distant horn sounded, its urgent call breaking the quiet of the night. Suddenly, two council guards appeared, their expressions grave yet respectful. ¡°Great Wife Ryn, we¡¯re truly sorry to disturb you at such a late hour, but we must escort you and your family to a safer place,¡± one of them said earnestly, sensing the weight of the moment. Ryn was confused at the words that were spoken. ¡°What is going on? Is there another assault on the village?¡± she asked, her mind racing with worry for her husband and son. She knew that Tayaire had set out to scout the village¡¯s perimeter on his own and, given that it was already close to midnight, she expected him to return by now. ¡°Has my husband come back?¡±You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story. The guard stared at Ryn, shock washing over him. ¡°The chief isn¡¯t with you? We haven¡¯t seen him since the last attack,¡± he replied, puzzled by her question. He wondered how he could reassure the chieftess that Tayaire was safe. ¡°Pardon my rudeness, Great Wife, but we don¡¯t have time for questions. Lord Noir has given us a direct order to get you, Teiryn, and Trayner to a safe location. We¡¯ll send out a search party as soon as we complete this task.¡± His tone was firm, underscoring the urgency of the situation. ¡°Okay, let¡¯s hurry.¡± Ryn spoke these words as she ran back in the room to pick up the sleeping child and secured him into her arms. Ryn stopped for a moment as panic filled her facial expression, the guards was unsure what to make of her next words. ¡°Wait, where is Trayner?¡± Trayner crept down below a thick tree stump, hoping not to be seen as he watched several men running down the path In front of him. ¡°I think the kid ran back towards the village.¡± One of the men said to the other three that was following close behind. They looked in a panic to find him, but had lost the sense of his trail due to a horn sounding off in near proximity to their location. ¡°Did you hear that horn?¡± A man with long black hair and a sturdy build questioned his men. ¡°General Mada, I think that might have been a war horn. Do you think we should go check it out?¡± A man with burgundy hair, placed in four braids to the back of his head asked in a concerned tone. General Mada wasn¡¯t the type to leave no stone unturned when it came to his duties, and at this moment his job was to find the young heir to the Zibiru legacy. He contemplated on what they should do in their current position. On one end the decision placed upon him could either lead him closer to securing Trayner, but then again it could lead him in the opposite direction and smack dead in front of enemy lines. Mada took a few seconds to think over the options that weighed on his mind before choosing what they would do. He was a logical man in the eyes of everyone who met him, able to read multiple steps ahead of anyone when it came down to strategic action. ¡°Toph and Phar, I need you guys to head back to the village. Search the path for the heir and report back to Noir on any finding you might come across, He¡¯ll give you further instructions.¡± Mada said, wondering if splitting the group would be the best choice of matter. ¡°What about me general?¡± The man with the burgundy braids asked in concern. ¡°Lucus, You will be coming with me in the direction of the horn. We¡¯ll figure out what¡¯s going on and also report back to Noir when we¡¯re done.¡± Lucus gave Mada a quick nod after hearing his instructions, then the group quickly separated towards their goals. Trayner lifted his head and began to stand from the stump that he hid at after hearing the guards take leave. He was trying to catch his breath as thoughts ran through his mind. ¡°I should head back to the village.¡± He thought trying to control his breathing, which for some reason seemed harder than normal. He felt as if there was over a ton of weight on his chest. ¡°But that horn.¡± He paused looking at the two men, now over a mile away from where he stood running towards the location that the sound came from. ¡°It came from the same way that Dad had went!¡± Trayner said running, following behind Mada and Lucus. One Man Army Tayaire watched as three men charged him from the front as well as observing another four coming from his rear. Without any hesitation, one by one he took out the assailants with blinding speed, As if he was teleporting from place to place in a moment. As the others was fighting Tayaire three others decided to plan a sneak attack seeing an opening in his defenses. Tayaire quickly appeared behind one of the men leaving them in shock as he put him down with a quick slash to his jugular. In a swift motion, Tayaire threw his Karambit towards another man the same as he practiced multiple times beforehand with trees and wooden targets, hitting him directly in the center of his chest, Tightening his grip on the chain as the blade soared through the air. Once the Karambit made contact, Tayaire pulled the chain simultaneously pulling the man along with it, knocking him into a large tree. As Tayaire retracted his blade his eyes glowed with a hue of purple, this was a clear sign of him using clairvoyance, an ability that allowed him to see several seconds into the near future. He had received a short vision of a man striking him down by delivering a devastating blow that had decapitated him on the spot. Tayaire snapped out of his vision and blocked the man¡¯s sword with the chain only a few inches from his neck. At that moment Tayaire released a pulse of radiating energy from his body, the force blasting the man and everyone within ten feet of him away causing them severe damages. ¡°Damn, if it wasn¡¯t for these abilities I would¡¯ve been dead already.¡± Tayaire said catching his breath while replaying the past few minutes of the confrontation in his mind. Tayaire abilities and control over Spiritual Energy was one of the reasons he was placed in such a high position among the others, Not to say he wasn¡¯t a skilled fighter. Tayaire was a master in both swordsmanship as well as several forms of martial arts, but his blessing of time manipulation had made him a cut above the rest. At this point in the battle Tayaire has already taken out ten of the opposing enemies without the need to show his full potential and barely breaking a sweat. ¡°Something isn¡¯t adding up. Where¡¯s Kuma?¡± Tayaire searched the remaining group for the man with silver hair, not noticing that the man left the moment he got distracted fighting off the previous attackers. ¡°So that¡¯s what his plan was,¡± Tayaire spoke furiously. He lifted his hand in a open and stretched out position towards the remaining group of men thinking to himself. ¡°This ploy was just to get me away from the village and I clumsily fell for it.¡± An orb of energy formed at the base of Tayaire¡¯s palm causing the men to freeze with shock on their faces. The orb was a dense violet shade and slightly transparent, it was smaller than Tayaire¡¯s hand but still close to the size of a tennis ball. ¡°He¡¯s someone that¡¯s able to manipulate spiritual energy!¡± One of the men cried out trying to warn the rest of his group. ¡°This is going to cause me some drawbacks using this much spirit energy all at once.¡± Tayaire said as he concentrated on his remaining energy, making The orb grow twice in size. The orb burst from Tayaire¡¯s hand creating a beam of light, bigger than a small townhome, wiping out everything in its path at light speed, leaving behind a crater rushing towards the group of enemies. The energy wave delivered by Tayaire¡¯s hands was a basic attack used by those able to manipulate spiritual energy, but due to the amount of energy he had used, it had caused devastating damages to say the least. ¡°Hopefully that will be enough so that I can get back before anything else goes wrong.¡± Tayaire stood tired and out of breath, grabbing the left side of his chest. The output of his attack was over that of what he thought it would be, but he thought it was worth it if he could finish the battle before it dragged on any longer. The rapid depletion of energy caused Tayaire to lose balance and fall to one knee, it had took a huge toll on his body leaving him with very little left in the tank. As Tayaire looked at his surroundings he noticed just how much damage was created by his blast, there was a huge canyon several miles deep filled with debris. The surrounding sight would have been surprising to onlookers as they would see multiple human bodies and trees that were fully detached from the ground, the landscape was in tethers and barely holding together.Support the creativity of authors by visiting the original site for this novel and more. ¡°Hmmm, that¡¯s unsettling.¡± Tayaire said as he could see a dome glowing a bright shade of green in the center of the crater. ¡°I guess you guys have more fight in you then I gave you credit for.¡± He said as he pulled the sword from his right shoulder, surprised that even one member of the group was still hanging on to their life. The small sword was one like no one has ever seen before, It was solid black in color except for the hilt and markings on the blade which both glowed in a bright violet color once it touched his hands. ¡°I guess that my dreams of ending this battle in one move won¡¯t come true after all.¡± Tayaire put away his chained karambit then placed both of his hands on his sword as he began to focus on the blade. ¡°Looks like I can¡¯t afford to continue to hold back either.¡± He spoke disheartening. The dome began to dissipate, beginning from the center of the top, falling slow like a veil to the surface. Four men could be seen as one of the men flew out the top of the dome jacketed in a sky blue coat of energy as he came aiming for Tayaire. Like a heat seeking missile the man was locked on his target moving faster then any normal human¡¯s eye can see, observing any slight movement that might give him a clear opening. Noticing the man and his actions caused Tayaire to lose focus of his plan. ¡°Damn, these guys.¡± Tayaire began to guard himself as he could see the man get within a close striking distance. Tayaire swung his blade planning to knock the attack off target, but within a blink of the eyes the man altered his direction sending a quick slash towards Tayaire¡¯s abdomen. Noticing his sword slashing nothing but air, Tayaire switched his position to block the deadly blow. As the two swords collided a loud clang sound could be heard sending ripples throughout the air and causing the ground beneath their feet to tremble. ¡°Looks like your not just fast, but you have some power to back it up I see.¡± Tayaire spoke with a clear smile on his face, thinking to himself if this was a average one on one battle, he could actually take time out to see this opponent¡¯s full capabilities. He summoned a small orb of energy in his free hand, but unlike last time, Tayaire suddenly just threw the orb into the man¡¯s side without charging it any further, sending him several yards in the direction that he came from. ¡°Return to sender!¡± Tayaire yelled as the man could be seen being caught by two of his allies that was directed by the third, who was assumed to be the leader of this small unit. ¡°Slick remarks will only be able to get you so far, Tayaire!¡± The leader said walking in a slow stride towards Tayaire wielding a long sword in one hand. ¡°Everyone stand back, he''s my prey.¡± He said in a taunt, waving in a gesture for Tayaire to move towards him. While traveling through the forest making their way towards the sound of the horn, Lucus expressed his concerns of what could be the situation ahead. ¡°General, do you think that Noir¡¯s suspicions could be correct?¡± Lucas asked Mada as they jumped through the trees in a rush. Mada responded. ¡° In truth, i¡¯m not sure, whether right or wrong Noir has always been the paranoid type and after hearing that horn¡¡± Mada pause mid sentence looking in a deadly gaze in front of them, his face full of worry. He instinctively came to a stop on a thick branch putting one finger up by his mouth that was covered with a cloth-like mask. ¡°we¡¯re being cornered from the north and the south.¡± Mada said in a low but firm tone. Lucus began to check his surroundings, but couldn¡¯t see nor hear signs of anyone. ¡°What do you mean?¡± Lucus asked, he was a beginner when it came to using spiritual energy so sensing auras required him to be single minded, having full focus on one thing at a time. Mada responded, ¡°I¡¯ve been sensing a small aura following us every since we split with the others.¡± He continues noticing Lucus close his eyes to gain his concentration. ¡°There are two possibilities of whom it might be, but I¡¯m not sure on which it is.¡± Lucus began to understand Mada¡¯s reasoning and looked back. ¡°I see now, so it could either be the young heir, or someone concealing their power, But I don¡¯t see how that means we¡¯re being cornered.¡± Lucus stated beginning to grab the large spear from his back. ¡°Keep focus and look ahead of us. There is also three more powerful auras zoning in on our location.¡± Mada said pulling a small white marble from the pouch around his waist. ¡°Their moving fast Lucus. Get ready!¡± Wheres the Threat Lucus and Mada positioned themselves behind two large trees across from each other along the path, gripping their weapons and waiting for the unavoidable confrontation from both sides. Mada was a close-range fighter who felt more pleasure from beating his enemies in a hand-to-hand fight instead of using swords, and other weapons that he felt gave others an advantage in a battle. Though Mada was confident in his abilities, he still clung to the white marble in his hand, awaiting the moment he would have to use this particular item. The marble was a unique item used to summon familiars of several types, this was called a familiar eye, each embedded with a unique design depending on the creature it would conjure. These creatures are also known as spirit animals or beasts, able to grant their tamers immense power, as well as a powerful ally in battle. ¡°Did you ever figure out which beast is contained in the Familiar Eye?¡± Lucus asked trying to make slight conversation, hiding the uneasy feeling That came over him, he felt that the poor planning of Mada¡¯s decision would land them in a tough spot or even dead. Mada focused on the cracking in Lucus¡¯s voice, noticing how he truly felt about their position, Lucus always was one to put on a tough guy persona, but at this moment he was terrified. Mada wasn¡¯t easily fool by his actions, so trying to lighten up the mood he chose to indulge in the conversation. ¡°I¡¯m not sure. I wasn¡¯t the one that had captured this one, Noir did.¡± Mada whispered holding the familiar eye between two fingers up to the moonlight. ¡°I can¡¯t even tell by the pattern, due to it being so unique, I don¡¯t even think we have it on record.¡± Lucus was stunned, with all the knowledge being shared upon the tribes up until now, he thought that someone would be able to tell Mada what type of familiar he had in his possession. ¡°Why didn¡¯t Noir just keep the beast and tame it for himself? Seems like a waste of effort to me.¡± Lucus spoke with his eyes still concentrated on the item. Lucus could sense a strange aura emitting from the familiar eye¡¯s center, forcing him to look away. ¡°That¡¯s because he¡¯s not like us. While it is true that Amourian people contain spiritual energy the same way we do, they can¡¯t manipulate it to the same degree as us. So, he couldn¡¯t emit enough to tame the beast.¡± Mada responded in a firm, but low tone. After their small but informative chat, Mada and Lucas sat in silence for what seemed like an eternity. Mada focused on the auras in front of them, the group of individuals stopped for a moment a few miles ahead of them but eventually started back down the path. ¡°We know that you¡¯re hiding right there behind us in the bushes, ya know.¡± Lucus said looking behind them with a slight smile on his face. The small aura trailing them was the First to catch up, but for some reason stopped and hid a few paces away from them, as if they were waiting for the others to catch up first. Both of the men felt like this was a strange action for an enemy to take, especially when knowing that there were more of their allies ahead, and this could pose as a good chance to delay them from fleeing back to their village. This gave Mada a small sense of relief, ¡°Is that you Trayner?¡± he questioned in a faint voice, still aware of the other threats that lingered in the shadows. Trayner peered through the bushes at Lucus and Mada after hearing his own name being called, surprised at how easily he had become noticed by the others, he became frustrated. Trayner was a seven-year-old boy with a short, nappy haircut that had the sides cut low to a buzz. Trayner was a close student of Noir, who was the leader of the village¡¯s defense corps and peace negotiator. Trayner studied low ranking spirit manipulation, Bojutsu, and martial arts while he did his academic studies under the care of Noir, so he was well versed in alternate ways to defend himself as well as battlefield strategies. Though Trayner was the youngest in some of his classes, he had the mindset of someone much older, even surpassing most of the teenage villagers in both skill and academic knowledge. Without hesitation, Trayner popped his head out of the bushes where he hid. ¡°If you two dumb asses don¡¯t close your mouths, concealing our energies won¡¯t really matter!¡± Trayner said in a low shout, both trying to warn them of the enemy¡¯s quick approach and trying to degrade their abilities due to them revealing his cover so quickly, ¡°They¡¯ll be upon us in less than a minute, so keep quiet and get ready!¡±You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story. ¡°He acts exactly like Noir.¡± Lucus said in an upsetting tone, while raising a middle finger to the bushes. ¡°I guess that¡¯s what happens when you train someone from the time, they¡¯re able to walk.¡± Lucus sensed a dense feeling in the air and dived backwards from the tree he was crouching behind, as a ball of energy collided with it, making the tree snap in half. Another ball of energy came towards Mada, but he was prepared so it was easily dealt with as he returned one of his own making the two crash against each other, causing a loud explosion in the air. ¡°They''re here!¡± Mada spoke jumping back to catch his footing nearly falling on his backside. With the smoke from the explosion clouding his vision he could only use his aura sense to keep track of the enemies, this gave him a small feeling of comfort, because he was able to see that Lucus and Trayner weren¡¯t hurt by the blast. With the smoke surrounding everything on the path and crowding everyone¡¯s vision, Trayner was stuck between a rock and a hard place not being able to depict who was friend or foe. Though the child was looked upon as a prodigy, his control over aura sense wasn¡¯t that great, giving him the ability to sense others but not figure out the slight differences in their auras. He could tell that the others were still alive, but if they didn¡¯t clear the smoke quickly it could put them in a dangerous spot. Trayner grabbed a small staff from his hip, it was about twelve inches long, but once he stretched out his hand it began to glow a slight orange color and instantly grew to match the size of his body height. Trayner began twirling the staff in his hands in a perfect circle, he started off slow, but as he continued the motion the momentum sped up creating a wind vortex, pushing air through the smoke, and clearing the area. Once everyone regained their senses, it didn¡¯t take long for the members of the Zibiru tribe to noticed that the three men that attacked them were familiar faces, well at least to Mada and Trayner they were. ¡°Kuma! You traitorous snake!¡± Mada yelled furiously as he charged at Kuma. Mada launched himself in the air at a height that would easily clear some of the tallest trees in the forest. ¡°Phoenix aura cloak!¡± As Mada spoke these words, an immense blue and green colored aura, burst from his feet and covered his whole body until it reached the brim of his neck, giving him the appeal that he had glowing armor over his clothing. Two fluorescent wings sprouted from Mada¡¯s back as he began to crash back down to the surface in a kicking formation aimed directly at Kuma. He wanted to attack without giving Kuma a moment to prepare himself. In less than a second, Mada was within centimeters of where Kuma was standing, creating an intense heat that could be felt by everyone in the proximity. ¡°I¡¯ll end this now without giving you a chance to beg for your life, you bastard.¡± Mada said before contact was made. With a quick motion Kuma parried the attack and Mada could feel himself being turned off target and redirected in the opposite direction. This was due to Kuma grabbing Mada¡¯s ankle and throwing him towards a large tree in the distance, making sure to deal some damage but not enough to kill Mada on impact. Mada could be seen flying through several trees before being stopped by a thick tree stump. This caused Mada to cough up a large amount of blood, this was a sign of internal damage and would keep him out of the fight for a small period of time. ¡°We aren¡¯t your enemies Mada. We were sent here on the request of your chief to supply you with support against the ongoing assault on your village.¡± Kuma exclaimed as he seen Mada stumbling trying to stand to his feet. Lucus ran to go check on Mada, ¡°So then, where is lord Tayaire? because we never received these orders.¡± Lucus asked while helping Mada stand up straight with an arm over his shoulders. ¡°Wouldn¡¯t he be on his way to the village, or at least here with you?¡± Mada questioned Kuma¡¯s reasoning, not knowing if what he said was the truth or not. ¡°Tayaire stayed with my men a few miles down this path. At the moment they are engaged in a battle with opposing forces, trying to hold them back while I send word back to your defense corps leader.¡± Seeing that everyone had stopped fighting and Kuma¡¯s group no longer showed any murderous intent towards them, Lucus urged Mada to listen to the man. ¡°Ok then, let¡¯s head back to inform Noir. Well return with more of our forces and help the chief push back the enemy units.¡± Lucus spoke leading the group back towards the village, allowing Mada some time to recover from his injuries. Kuma walked at the far back of the group with his two followers in front of him. ¡°Now the true war can begin.¡± He thought with a sly grin forming on his face. A Safe Place Ryn sat silently in a chair by the window, slowly rocking her son back and forth in her arms. ¡°Ryn, are you going to at least say something? I know that this is hard to take in, but eventually you¡¯ll have to make a choice with what¡¯s happening.¡± The man said sitting across the table in front of her. He stood up and walked around the table towards her, landing a hand on her shoulder, with a deep sigh he continued. ¡°You and Teiryn must leave tonight before anymore danger comes towards the Chieftain¡¯s family. I promise you that I will not rest till Tayaire and Trayner is found, but you must leave.¡± Ryn looked down at Teiryn, rubbing a hand gently through his curly hair. Tears began to form in Ryn¡¯s eyes, ¡°How am I supposed to just leave them out there, they¡¯re alone and probably¡¡± Her voice began to crack profusely as her tears became heavier. ¡°I don¡¯t know what to do without them Noir.¡± Noir stood deadly still, not knowing how to comfort someone who feels as if they are losing everything all at once. This wasn¡¯t an ideal situation for him, knowing he went through the same phase for himself, he was barely able to keep his own emotions in check let alone someone else¡¯s. Noir was a tall, and slender white man with a scar over his right eye, from a wound that also left him blinded in that same eye. He had long yellow hair with black at the tips, that cut off at his shoulders. ¡°Being a foreigner in a country that doesn¡¯t truly accept my kind has taught me a lot of things, and some of those lessons weren¡¯t pleasant at all.¡± Noir looked out the window thinking back to the time he had first arrived in Neuvaria, he was on an expedition to scour the lands for a rare mineral that only formed in the cave network based in the center of the country. Upon reaching a small entrance, he was captured by the Morguni tribe and subjected to tortures that were not only physical, but mental as well. ¡°I¡¯m pretty sure you are aware of my life¡¯s story since you were there to bear witness to it, but your husband had saved me at a time when I felt that all else was lost, Your family were the ones that gave me a sense of purpose, and I hold on to that purpose every day that I am still on this earth.¡± Noir spoke as a single tear dropped from his blinded eye. Noir felt that a huge debt was owed to the Zibiru¡¯s royal family, and he owed them more than just his life. ¡°With that being said, Ryn, I promise you that I will do whatever is within my power to reunite you with your family. I just need you and Teiryn to leave and not look back.¡± He said as Ryn¡¯s heavy crying subsided and became a shallow whimpering. A knock was heard on the council room¡¯s door as Ryn began to collect her belongings, ¡°Lord Noir open up, I have a message of extreme importance to deliver to you!¡± a man shouted at the top of his lungs, he sounded panicked and out of breath. Noir lifted his hand, as a black shadow appeared, twisting and opening the door, causing the man who was leaning against it to stumble into the room. The abilities possessed by Noir were much different from those belonging to Neuvarians, while the Neuvarian people¡¯s abilities were always imbedded in their genes and came from spiritual evolution, Amourian abilities came from a long line of experimentation done by scientists on the human body causing what is known to them as superpowers. The man who was knocking on the door was an average looking individual, normal short black hair, normal dark brown eyes, and an average body posture, he was plain in all sense of the word. The man kneeled on one knee towards Noir and Ryn, not daring to make eye contact. ¡°Lord Noir and Great Wife Ryn I come with unsettling news!¡± the man said in a loud voice. ¡°Watch your tone, don¡¯t be too loud there¡¯s a sleeping child in here. Now out with it Sil.¡± Noir spoke in a low but commanding tone that made Sil¡¯s whole body tremble. ¡°My apologies, I¡¯ll get right to it then. The enemies have finally made their presence known by setting off the alarm grid at the west wall, as well another group were spotted attacking the South gate. While our men are holding them for now in the south, their group is a force of over two thousand men, and we won¡¯t be able to hold off for that long.¡± Sil spoke earnestly. Noir stood without moving, shocked at the words that the young man had spoken out of his mouth. ¡°Was it really necessary for an army of that size to be attacking the small Zibiru settlement, that only held at max six hundred people.¡± Noir thought. The Zibiru tribe was held as one of the strongest tribes in Neuvaria due to their high spirit energy capacity and the abilities they were able to create using spirit manipulation, but it was also one of the smallest and newest tribes in their history, so many didn¡¯t accept them as originals. The Zibiru tribe had a large amount of political backing because of its past dealings with other tribes from the older generations, but alliances began to wither as they became more and more secluded and not trusting some of the other tribe chiefs in the council. Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon. ¡°Ryn, we don¡¯t have much time! Get Teiryn ready and I¡¯ll have two of the men escort you through the underground tunnels.¡± Noir said as he pointed at a large bookcase that covered a hidden pathway. He felt that this would be the safest and most discreet route to take, with all of the fighting taking place outside no one would suspect to search for an emergency exit that leads several miles away from the village. Tayaire had a feeling that something like this would happen due to his clairvoyance, so he had the path built to ensure the survival of his wife and sons. As Noir moved a book from the shelf, the bookcase began to slightly snap open and move as a hidden door. Behind the bookcase was a staircase made from a crystal-like silver material that had a radiant glow. ¡°Sil, I need you to go retrieve another guard to help escort the great wife and young heir to the end of this tunnel. After you reach the end of the tunnel continue to walk north till you reach the riverbed, then you are to depart and return here.¡± Noir went to the corner of the room and retrieved two swords, one was his custom-made blade that was made to mimic a modern-day Katana, it was black with a pure yellow edge. The second blade looked as if it was an exact copy of the first, the only difference was that instead of a yellow edge, it was a dim orange color that mimicked a flame. He passed the sword to Ryn as Sil returned to the room with another guard by his side. ¡°We¡¯re ready to head out on your orders sir,¡± Sil said as him and the other man knelt to one knee. Noir gave a quick head nod to Ryn, then the group began to make their way down the tunnel. As Ryn walked down the stairs with Teiryn and the other men, runes began to glow in a bright white as they walked down the tunnel. ¡°I can¡¯t believe that Tayaire had the idea to build this all on his own,¡± Sil spoke admiring the foundation and landscape of the wide-shaped tunnel. ¡°Is this all made with Corzium?¡± The other man asked in disbelief. Corzium is a rare mineral that was mainly used as a power source for most of the technology in Neuvaria. Just one pound of Corzium was enough to power a small city for up to six years, and with the amount seen in the tunnel, if sold would grant anyone a fortune that would last many centuries. ¡°It¡¯s not all just Corzium,¡± Sil replied looking at the man with a bit of confusion. ¡°I¡¯m not sure if you know this but Neuvaria isn¡¯t only home to one rare mineral. Corzium on its own is a pure white crystal that can only be used as a power source, but when fused with another rare mineral called Kritane, which is a powerful black metal, It creates a whole new element called Alphium.¡± Sil spoke with excitement. The creation of Alphium was a secret only passed down through the top Zibiru tribe members, it was the strongest known element in the realm according to the previous Chieftains of the tribe. ¡°Alphium? Never heard of it.¡± The man said as the group made it to the halfway point of the tunnel. Ryn began to have a suspicious feeling about the man walking with them, ¡°All of the council guards in the Zibiru settlement knew of this element due to it being the main component of their weapons, so how could he not know of it with him being one himself.¡± She thought to herself while walking. Teiryn was tied up in a sling around her back, while the sword that Noir had gave her rested in a sheath on her hip, leaving her hands free of restraints for easy movement. Ryn began to turn around while speaking, ¡°To think about it, I¡¯ve never seen you around the palace. How long have you been a guard for my family.¡±.
