《The crimson queen》 The queen Hundreds of people, knelt down to the queen as she walked down the main street. Escorted by two heavily armoured guards with sturdy and sharp spears, her bright red gown dragged along the cool cobblestone. Paul, dressed in a dark green shirt and rough jeans, turned to his left as he knelt down. His friend June, who was looking straight turned to look at him. As the both of them stared at each other awkwardly, then June asked"what" in a confused and agitated voice. Paul turned his head back to the front and replied,"oh, nothing." As June squinted her eyes, she looked at Paul sheepishly. Paul then looked to his right where he, saw a man gripping a dagger tightly in his hand. Thoughts flooded Paul''s mind, as he wondered what the man was going to do with the dagger.Surely he wasn''t going to try assassinate the queen was he?This content has been misappropriated from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. unexpected outcome As the queen walked closer and closer, Paul was pressed for time. He had to stop the man from attacking the queen. But yet he didn''t want to. Paul didn''t come from a very well to do family, his parents always struggled to make ends meet barely being able to buy food. And it was the queen''s fault, as she continued to raise the prices for bread and fish, while the wages of workers bstayed the same. Driving a lot of people in the kingdom into poverty, while the queen lived in luxury. The once kind and loving queen, turned ruthless and greedy after realising she could have made much more gold by raising prices of food and other daily essentials. So Paul had to decide if not to try save the queen from what could potentially kill her or, let it happen. But by the time Paul landed on a decision, it was too late. The man had already stood up and and started running at the queen, with the dagger in his hands. A guard lifted their spear up and, drove it straight into the mans stomach. As everybody else watched in awe, the man spit out some blood onto the guard''s armour staining it light red. After pulling their spear out, the man clutched his stomach and fell to the ground as he slowly choked on his own blood. Then, the queen turned to look at the man before pointing her finger at him and lifting her finger up magically levitating him into the air, as the man moved his blood stained hands to his neck like he was being strangled by some sort of magical force. And with her other hand, she did a pulling motion. As the man''s eyes turned albino white, his hands started shaking uncontrollably. And as blood started coming out of the man''s mouth it slowly levitated towards the queen. And in a matter of a few seconds, the man''s skin was totally pale. Leaving only, a ball of blood which the queen absorbed into her arm. And as the queen turned around and slowly made her way back to the castle, everybody stared at the lifeless man lying in the middle of the street. And Paul who was still shocked by what he just saw, came back to his senses when June knudged him in the arm. Putting her face up to his ear June said"I guess that guy really got the life sucked out of him, didn''t he." As Paul backed away, he gave June a digusted look before replying"I knew you were dark but not this dark." And with one quick jab to the arm, June replied"Its funny." As paul rubbed his arm. And after the commotion died down, and the people stood up, June dragged to a narrow and dim alleyway. After the both of them found a long and dusty wooden crate to rest on, they sat down and leaned back. As June rested her head on Pauls''s shoulder Paul asked"So, do you remember how we first met?" June replied "I think i do."The author''s tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. first encounter Digging deep into her memory, June pictured her first encounter with Paul. June crawled up into a corner of her bedroom, upon tucking her legs in, she dug her face in her hands and contemplated running away. After hearing a scream coming from the kitchen, June whispered" Dad is hitting Mom again." As the town beyond her home seemed blissfully unaware of the darkness within, June''s father, a lord of a small but proud fiefdom, was a cruel man. Hardened by time, June''s mother who was once a kind and loving soul was now a mere shadow. Broken under his rule. But that day, June had enough. She had cracked under the immense pressure of anger and sadness, it was the walls of her dark cottage that kept her in. The outside beckoned her to run, so she did. Grabbing her sling bag, she ran out of her house. And after taking in a deep breath, she felt relieved. It went from stressful gloomy and dark to bright lively and full of life. Merchants shouted over the din of crowds hawking their wares with practiced fervor. The fresh scent of the bakery, drifted from a bakery at the far end of the street, mingling with the sharper and more unpleasant smell of raw fishmonger''s stall just across. Then it dawned on her. June had nowhere to stay, so she continued walking and looked around. And too engrossed in the atmosphere around her, June bumped into someone. Stunned, she took a step back. Looking up she saw a boy around the same age as her, around thirteen or so. He wore a dark green shirt with light blue stripes running across it. As June put her head down, she apologized. As the boy scanned her, he realized she had bruises all over her arms and legs. Then, the boy asked, "Are you okay?" Slowly lifting her head she replied, "No, I ran away from home because my father was abusing my mother and me." Then, the boy dragged her to an alleyway and asked"How long has this been going on for?" June replied, "Around one to two months." clenching his fists, the boy found out where June lived before telling her to stay put till he came back. As June nodded, the boy said "It''s Paul by the way" "I''m June" As Paul nodded he walked away while clenching his fist. Walking to June''s house, Paul was planning something so sinister and so brutal that June''s father would death. And upon arriving at the front door, Paul smirked. If you come across this story on Amazon, it''s taken without permission from the author. In a serious tone, the man replied, "Yes, why did you ask?" And after nodding, Paul said, "Okay, I just needed to know." But before June''s father could question Paul, Paul kicked the door open. Hitting June''s father in the process, winding him. After falling onto the ground June''s father gasped as the sunlight cut off after Paul slammed the door shut. Looking at June''s father visibly angered, Paul said" I''m gonna make you fucking regret abusing such an innocent girl." Looking into the kitchen, Paul saw a woman lying on the floor unconscious. But this sight just added fuel to the already raging fire. So, Paul said, "Stand up." As June''s father trembled as he stood up, he covered his face in fear that Paul was going to hit him. Then Paul said, "Put your hands down, you abusive bastard." As June''s father put his hands down suddenly and tried landing a punch on Paul, Paul twisted the man''s arm before driving his knee straight into his face. Falling back June''s father''s nose started to bleed like a waterfall, just more brutal. crawling back slowly, June''s father begged for mercy. But as Paul took a deep breath his eyes turned a glowing light red, almost like the devil had possessed him. Sticking out his finger at June''s father, Blood started rushing out of his nose at an even faster rate. The blood then started levitating toward Paul, as it formed into a blood ball. Terrified June''s father asked, "Who the hell are you?" But Paul didn''t reply he just said"Crimson spear." A blood spear then formed beside him. Then as Paul pointed it a June''s father, the blood spear impaled him in the chest and spilled blood everywhere. And after absorbing the blood into himself, Paul went back to his normal state. And looking at the lifeless body in front of him, Paul looked at his hands and said"I just fucking killed someoneDid you know this text is from a different site? Paul asked"What happened? you were in there for like ten minutes." Coming back to her senses June replied"You know how you killed my father." Paul interrupted"Hey, you know I don''t like talking about it." Totally ignoring Paul''s sentence June continued"Anyways, you told me that you could control blood spears." Giving June a perplexed look, Paul asked"And where are you going with this?" June sighed and shook her head before saying"How can someone achieve this level of stupidity." Taking out a knife from her sling bag, June gave herself a small slit on the arm. Now even more confused Paul said, "What was that for." Forcefully grabbing Paul''s hand she pointed Paul''s hand at her wound, before letting it go. The blood from her hand started levitating toward Paul''s hand and after pointing his hand away it stopped. Now Paul finally understanding what June was trying to do asked"Wanna see something cool?" clutching her hand June replied"Yes." Closing his eyes, the blood formed into a spear. Something like an arrow And after opening his eyes, Paul pointed his finger at the floor. Immediately, the crimson spear shot past Paul and crashed straight into the ground, splattering into a blood puddle. Then Paul pointed his finger at June''s wound. And what felt like a second later, the wound closed up like a zipper, leaving only a small scar behind. Looking at Paul June said, "You can heal people?" And acting like he didn''t just find out, Paul replied"umm... yea."The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings. The workshop The deep renosant chimes of the clocktower echoed through the misty morning air, its ancient bells tolling the hour with a sense of authority. At precisely nine o''clock, the sound reverberated across the kingdom, reaching the ears of Paul and June. Midway into his sentence Paul was interrupted by the deep and loud sound of the bells. Pausing, June looked at Paul confused. Then she said, "Continue your sentence." Then Paul replied, "We were meant to meet Dave at the workshop at nine." Staring at each other in the eye, they bolted to the workshop. June being the more agile and fast one, overtook Paul. Upon arriving at the workshop, Paul took a moment to catch his breath. June was already starting up the forge and setting it to the right temperature. Dave, pouring the melted scrap into the crucible at the front of the workshop, said"Morning Paul." As Paul slowly walked into the workshop, he nodded to acknowledge Dave''s words. Walking to the back of the workshop to his workbench, the air felt much thicker like being thrown into an already hot oven. Arriving at his workbench, June was already dumping a bucket of metal scraps into the forge readying the liquid metal Paul would soon turn into weapons or tools. Picking up his hammer Paul asked, "So, Dave what''s the order today." Turning his head back slightly Dave replied"The queen ordered five hundred swords for her infantry, so you better get moving." As June came back to dump more scraps into the forge June asked"Dave do you know anything about the queen''s power?" As Dave turned around to get more scrap he replied"You saw it too, in fact I do come to my house tonight and I''ll tell you guys more, but for now time to get to work we have a long day ahead of us." Paul now ready held his hammer in his hand. The queen''s order driving him forward, as he prepared to begin his work on the first of the many swords. As time passed and hours flew by the sun started to begin its descent casting a crimson red and dark blue into the sky, drawing a close to a day in the now quiet kingdom. Having forged what felt like hundreds of swords, Paul felt like a tire out of air flat and disoriented. stumbling out of the workshop, Paul and June waved goodbye to Dave before slowly walking away. Though the air was much cooler, Paul was still drenched in his sweat. Walking out of the alleyway June suggested"How about we go enjoy the view at the watchtower at the end of the street." Though Paul was exhausted, he still said yes just to make June happy. Walking to the base of the sturdy wooden watchtower held together by thick ropes, the both of them climbed up to enjoy the view. As the sun sank lower in the sky, it started to turn red and orange As the breeze struck the both of them, June leaned her head on paul''s shoulder before holding his hand and saying"Nice view." Paul still in shock that June held his hand, played it cool and replied"Yea."Unauthorized usage: this narrative is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Swinging open, Paul and June stepped into a cozy and warm atmosphere. The scent of roasted chicken filled the air with a rich, savory aroma. Walking out of the kitchen, came Paul''s mother, Charlotte. In her soft and gentle voice, she said" Paul, June you''re back." Dragging himself into his room, Paul replied" Hi Mom" Tiredly. June on the other hand bowed down and said" Good evening Madam." sighing Paul''s mother said," June, call me Mom." Walking into Paul''s room, June closed the door behind her. Looking at Paul taking his shirt off, June blushed looking at Paul''s well-built body. Paul had broad shoulders and a toned chest, hinting at his growing strength. His arms were, muscular and well-proportioned, with defined biceps and triceps. Holding his towel and a new change of clothes with him, Paul stepped into the bathroom and closed the door behind him. Taking his clothes off, Paul looked at his arm. spotting crimson-red spots on his arm, Paul looked closer confused but yet curious. Not treating it as a serious issue, Paul went on a shower. Walking out of the bathroom with a new change of clothes, Paul rolled his sleeves up and asked June" Do you know anything about this." Resting lazily on Paul''s chair June, stood up in a rush. Looking at the spots she just shrugged and said" I don''t know." Holding a towel and a new change of clothes in her hands, June added"It''s probably nothing." Before walking into the bathroom and closing the door. Confused and a little worried Paul shrugged and said"Guess I''ll ask Dave later." Then something forced Paul''s eyes to open. Lying on the smooth cobblestone floor, Paul slowly got up groggily but that''s when he realized he was in a dream. finally standing up, Paul felt the cool breezy air brush against his clothes. Tall and large cobblestone walls stretched out on both sides like ancient giants the stone was dark and weathered, with intricate carvings of symbols and words Paul couldn''t quite understand etched deep into the walls. The arches seemed to end at a cliff, where the stone walls were left cracked and broken. Looking at the sky, Paul took a step back. The sky hung above him in a deep, unsettling crimson red that pulsed like a heartbeat. The crimson sky wasn''t fiery or warm, it was deep and dark casting a strange, otherworldly light. Walking to the end of the arch, Paul looked down. But, he saw nothing it was just a pure red abyss with a faint grey fog covering it like a blanket. Then a figure rose from the abyss. Dumfounded, Paul fell back and looked up as the figure continued to rise. Mouth agape, Paul looked up eyes wide open. The figure, dressed in dark red robes, carried a lantern that emitted a bright yellow light that penetrated the sky. Paul lost for words was greeted by the figure in a deep voice.
