《Mana User High》 Chapter 1: Depart "You will never be good enough." I have heard these words all my life. As required by the head branch, they must produce an hair to lead the clan. These clans are also responsible for producing magic users called Dins to serve the country in many ways, examples defense, magic research. I went down to the main house of the territory, the Aieno clan head house. knock knock, I knocked on the door. There was a short moment of silence before someone answered the door. "Hello there Kelvin." A woman with brown long hair and purple eyes was standing there, holding the door open. " Hi Mrs. Aieno, I came here to say my goodbyes to Mari." She opened the door wider. "So today is the day." Kelvin-I''m afraid so, they finally sent me off. Mrs. Aieno- That is horrible, there''s no way for you to stay. Kelvin- Stay and do what, they said. Mrs. Aieno- It''s a shame, Mari''s going to miss you. Kelvin- Tell her I promise I''ll come back. Mrs. Aieno- Of curse you will, but unfortunately, she isn''t here right now. Kelvin- I see, then let her know when she comes back. Now excuse me, I have to catch the train. Mrs. Aieno- Ok my boy, stay safe and good luck. I waved goodbye to the house and ran off with my suitcase to the train station. "Is he gone," Mari asked. "Yes, indeed he has," Mrs. Aieno responded. With my bag and suitcase in hand, I got off the train and walked out of the train station. A man in a black suit was standing just outside with a car, holding a banner with my name on it. Looks like the school wasn''t kidding about the pick-up thing. I walked up to the man and said, " that''s me." The man did not hesitate and opened the door for him and put his bags in the trunk. Out of the trunk he wiped out another banner and held it out. Looks like there''s another person coming. After a few more minutes a cheerful looking girl with black hair, and part of her hair was dyed yellow and golden sparking eyes came out of the station, waving at the man. She was wearing a bright blue dress with large flower patterns all around it. My eyes were caught by surprise on how beautiful she was. After a considerate amount of left and right turns, the car turned into school grounds. It was the most well-known magic high school in the county. The Sakura High School of Advanced Magic, also known as Mana User High (MUH). So, this is it, the school that will teach me what I''m missing. The man helped us get our bags from the trunk and we carried them to the headmaster''s office for previews. Outside, I was waiting for Theodora and the headmaster to finish their preview. He was not the only one though, there were other future students sited next to him. Few more minutes passed and finally Theodora walked out of the office with a slime. It was my turn now, that meant that this was goodbye for the two of us for now. " See you around Kelvin, " she said. " Like wise, " I responded and got up from my chair and walked in. Chapter 3: Room-mate We do not now where magic came from in this world, but humans have relied on it ever since creation. In modern times, magic power is measured by a system, The Elementix System. Not only does it measure magic power, but mana and element infinity. Mana and element infinity is measured separately and put together to measure mana level. That is the Elementix System. Just follow the hallway to the right, then make a left turn. You will find the way to the underground training center. I took the directions given to me and appeared at the entrance. The average level for the old system was 10,000 to 100,000 and the highest being 1,000,000. Kelvin''s mana level on the old system was 801,280. In my mind, 3139 was just too low. After the next person who scored 703, I stepped up to the crystal ball and placed his hand on top of it. I was confident about his score; I even thought it had increased since the last time I checked. But the final score was not what I had expected. 3101?! That can''t be right. This is the lowest of the low, but how. I saw shocked, I thought there was something wrong with the system or that I just had become weak. Everyone was amazed, it was the second highest level so far. I went back to the headmaster''s office for an explanation, but his assistant stopped me because he was currently busy meeting with an important person. The headmaster''s assistant escorted me to one of the dorms he was going to be staying in. The assistant had more work to do preparing for the class selections. He left me off at the entrance and handed me the key to my room. "Your room is number 11 on the second floor, " he said and later left. I carried my bags up the stair to the second floor. Walking along the hallway, there was another path to the left, but I paid no attention and continued down following the order of the numbers on the door until I reached at 11. This must be it. Out of my pocket I removed the room key and unlocked the door. The door handle turned, and the door swung open. There was a boy that was lying on top of the bunk bed, swinging his feet in the air as if trying to walk on it. Upon seeing me, he stopped what he was doing and sat up right. Chapter 4: Selection l The next day all the students were called to the assembly hall for the headmaster to fully address them. On the way there I thought I saw someone I knew. I looked closely and saw that it was Theodora. Before I could call out to her, she saw me and came running. "Hi kelvin, I didn''t expect to meet you on the way to the assembly hall. " She then looked at Timothy who was standing next to me. Theodora- Timothy, long time no see. Kelvin- Wait? The two of you know each other. Theodora- Well, we are related. Our dads are brothers. Kelvin- I guess that makes sense. Timothy, you do look a bit like Theo. Theodora- Did you just call me Theo? Timothy- What about me, call me Tim-O. Kelvin- Not a chance. She was happy and suddenly hugged me, "that makes me happy. " I was caught by surprise and turned red a little. She was the first girl that hugged me after my childhood friend. In the assembly hall, every first year gathered and occupied the sits that were placed out in advanced. The three of us sat next to each other in the third row which had a good view of the stage. After the performance by the second years which was surprisingly good, the headmaster appeared on stage, and everyone applauded. He introduced himself and his faculty and formally welcomed the new students to Sakura High. He finished going through various activities and explained the classes of Sakura High and the class selection. He welcomed to the stage, eight students that showed promise in the mana test. "May we welcome to the stage the following students. Theodora and Timothy stood up. "Come on, lets show off our aura as well, " Theo said. In that moment I knew why I was here in the first place, became stronger and go back home to fore fill my promise to Mari. I became serious, of the three, my aura was the most terrifying, second to the first boy who walked up to the stage. All the mentioned students gathered on stage. " These are the strongest first years in the history of the school," the headmaster said into the mic. "They will be a fighting tournament between these students to show off their strength.
