《Rising God of a New World[Litrpg, world building, action]》
Chapter 1: A Failed Dream
Nordan Sanus typed a few last words for his novel before he yawned and checked the clock. It was currently 3:03 a.m. in the morning, the supposed witching hour. Thankfully, he didn¡¯t believe in supernatural events or perhaps Nordan would be pissing himself right now.
He sighed as he slowly stood up from his seat and stared at his computer. This author''s business sure wasn¡¯t paying very well. He had written dozens of novels only to make a grand total of four dollars and fourteen cents, a rather pathetic sum. Yet, he was too fond of writing to ever even think about giving it up.
He loved the worlds that he could create and watch over almost as if he were its hero. A silly little side hobby but he enjoyed it and that¡¯s all that mattered right? Wrong.
Unfortunately, people usually needed to do this crazy thing called earning money and Nordan was no exception. He only wrote in his free time which was becoming increasingly more rare. His day job was starting to take up more of his time as he needed more money to pay for his utilities, food, and living. It seemed that being a waiter didn¡¯t pay so well these days.
Sometimes, he wished he hadn¡¯t skipped out on college and had decided to pursue some wealthy career that would have set him up for life. Instead, he had banked it all on his silly writing career. There was no way that he wouldn¡¯t make it, right? Once again, wrong.
Nothing Nordan did worked. Each and every one of his supposed breakthroughs led to another dead end that just drained more money. Whether this was his great advertising plan or his goals to market through social media, it all ended in the same way.
It had been this way for a solid ten years leaving Nordan at the crisp age of twenty-eight. His light brown eyes were tired and his fluffy blonde hair was already receding. At this point, he had essentially given up and decided that he would likely be living the rest of his life by himself and as a grocery store worker.
He had tried to apply for other jobs but nobody seemed to be interested in his expertise in stacking canned soups on top of each other and watching over the self-checkout aisle.
He chuckled to himself as he walked off toward his bed, which happened to be in the same room. He was tired after writing his fascinating story about vampire hunting.
As soon as he snuggled up in his bed, he pulled out his phone to play some of his favorite music. As he was scrolling through his music app, he managed to see a glimpse of his work one. A sudden dread encompassed his entire body. Surely he wouldn¡¯t have forgotten¡
He rapidly scrolled back to his work app and clicked it. The software took its time booting up, leaving Nordan in a cold silence. As soon as the app finished, he maneuvered to his work schedule.
¡°Are you serious!¡± he shouted to himself.
Sure enough, he was scheduled to be at work in no less than two hours. It looked like he wouldn¡¯t be getting any sleep tonight.
Nordan groaned as dragged himself to his kitchen. Thankfully, this wasn¡¯t a far journey as his apartment was a solid four hundred square feet featuring a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen.
Upon reaching his destination, Nordan started up his rusty coffee machine which rattled itself to life. He knew that he needed a new one but he hadn¡¯t had the money to buy it. All of his extra income went toward another one of his dream ideas, which was to market his books.
Once the machine was done heating up, he pulled out the last of his store-brand coffee pods and stuck the thing in there. He quickly scrounged his cabinets for a coffee mug only to realize that the two he had were dirty.
He sighed in annoyance as he grabbed one and gave it a quick rinse. He didn¡¯t want to spend any more than he needed to on water.
As he was pulling the mug out of the sink, it slipped out of his hand and shattered all across the sink. He nearly slammed his hands on the counter in annoyance before hearing the sound of his coffee machine beginning to dispense the godly liquid.
He frantically grabbed for his other mug but it was buried under a pile of dishes. Perhaps, he shouldn¡¯t have left everything off till the last minute.
The coffee machine started pouring out into the drip tray and then all over his counter as he failed to grab his other coffee mug. All Nordan could do was plant his hands across his face as his entire counter went to shit.
He stood there like that for a few moments after the coffee machine stopped dispensing. He felt like screaming but he knew that wouldn¡¯t do anything other than make his neighbors upset with him. He sucked it up and grabbed his paper towels.
After an arduous process of wiping down his counter and ensuring everything was clean, he decided to do his dishes. He rinsed down everything in his sink and ensured that his mug was on the drip tray before he started dispensing his coffee. He even made sure that his coffee machine had enough water this time.
He heated it back up again and grabbed another coffee pod only to realize that he had already used his last one.
This time, Nordan started to laugh maniacally as he simply shook his head. Nothing had gone well for him ever since his parents died. They were all he had and a shitty car crash took them away leaving Nordan to fend for himself in the real world.
He snapped himself out of his late-night thinking as he remembered that he had to go to work soon. Being tired really was a killer. He became clumsy, depressed, and unproductive.
He tried to brighten his outlook by focusing on positive thoughts, like his fun little worlds. With a nod, he walked back toward his room and searched through his closet for his work uniform. Thankfully, the familiar black shirt and pants were waiting for him in their usual place.A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
He threw the oversized shirt on and pulled up his baggy pants. Of course, he needed a belt to compliment such a fit so he tightened one on himself. He grabbed the keys that were lying next to his bed stand and strolled out of his apartment. He locked the door behind him and walked down the long flight of stairs to the parking lot.
He was located on the sixth floor of his apartment making the journey a long one. After nearly tripping multiple times, he finally made his way to the bottom. He stumbled his way out of the building and into the brisk Oregon weather. He was living in Salem right now which wasn¡¯t the most ideal for his situation but it could have definitely been worse. Also, it was summer meaning that he didn¡¯t have to deal with the snow or the cold. The energy bill was always much more expensive during then.
Nordan unlocked his old Honda Civic and started up the engine with a turn of his keys. He would be going to the gas station first so that he could get his coffee fix. He desperately needed his caffeine if he was going to make it through his entire shift.
He pulled out of the parking lot and turned left onto the street perpendicular to it. He wasn¡¯t too far from the gas station so it wouldn¡¯t really be a big deal to get there.
He turned on his radio to listen to some music. The first thing that started playing was some pop which was actually quite enjoyable. He decided to leave it on as he continued to drive. It was pretty late so the traffic was extremely minimal. There was hardly anyone out here at this hour.
The neon-lit gas station sign soon came into view marking the lot Nordan needed to turn into. He pulled up into one of the spots next to the gas pumps and pulled out his wallet. He might as well fill up while he was here. He was going to need to do so anyway so there was no point in waiting.
Another car pulled up into the spot next to Nordan as he fumbled around with his credit card to pay for his gas. He eyed it suspiciously as he put everything away and got back inside his car. He didn¡¯t mean to be rude but it was extremely early in the morning after all. He wouldn¡¯t blame the other person for staring at him either. However, all of his suspicions were vanquished as soon as the people exited their car.
Out came a middle-aged man, a woman, and two young children who couldn¡¯t have been older than ten. The woman was smiling playfully at the two young ones as the man said something that made everyone laugh. It was a family, likely going on some sort of road trip.
Nordan couldn¡¯t help comparing himself to them. He remembered being happy like that once. Yet, such times were long gone.
The pump to his car clicked signalling it was time to be removed. Nordan slumped out of his car and finished up his business. He then walked toward the gas station to get his coffee. He noticed that the man had already gone inside the gas station. He was probably buying some snacks for his family or something along those lines.
The classic door chime played as he too entered the gas station and immediately locked onto the coffee machines. He grabbed the largest paper cup that sat next to them and filled it up three-quarters of the way with some good old hazelnut roast. He filled the rest of it up with some creamer.
The man from earlier was currently being helped at the checkout line so Nordan patiently waited behind him. He had plenty of time until his shift started so he wasn¡¯t really in a rush.
The door chime played again as Nordan glanced at the side for a moment. A man dressed in all black perused into the store. This immediately made Nordan suspicious as dressing in such a way screamed, ¡°Hey! I¡¯m a thief!¡±
At first, the man just stood there, seemingly observing the exchange between the family man and the employee. For a moment, Nordan thought that maybe he was being too paranoid. Sure, it may have been four a.m. but what are the chances of actually being involved in a gas station robbery? Yeah, he shouldn¡¯t have thought that.
The man in all black took a deep breath and then stormed up to the front of the desk and pulled out a black pistol. He pointed it at all three of them and screamed, ¡°Hands in the air or I swear I¡¯ll blow off all of your heads! I want everything in that fucking register and whatever else you two have!¡±
Nordan quickly raised his hands in the air along with the employee. However, the man with the family froze in terror. His face was frantic like he was trying to move but he couldn¡¯t.
¡°I said, hands in the air! I¡¯m not fucking kidding, I¡¯ll kill you!¡± the robber screamed again, louder.
Nordan could hear screaming from outside, likely from the man¡¯s family who had heard the yells. He took a look back at the man and narrowed his eyes. He was still not responding and the robber was growing more frantic by the second.
His fingers were tickling the trigger. He was like a wild animal, nervous and desperate. Any move that was not what he was expecting he would take as an act of aggression. In this case, that included not moving at all.
For some reason, the thought of Nordan¡¯s stories came to his head. He had always wanted to be the hero. In his eyes, there was not a single better fate. Such is the reason he tightened his fists and prepared himself for what he was about to do.
The thought of his own parent¡¯s death came to mind. He wouldn¡¯t allow those kids he saw to go through the same fate that he did. At this moment, he was willing to give away his life to avoid such a fate for them. He knew firsthand that it was miserable. Nobody deserved such a thing.
¡°Are you sick or something? One last chance or you¡¯re not making it out of here alive,¡± the robber screamed in terror. He was afraid.
Yet, all of the fear had left Nordan¡¯s body. Instead, it was replaced with adrenaline as the thought of what he was about to do overwhelmed him.
The robber tensed up and Nordan knew he had to act. It was now or never.
With a shout, Nordan sprinted toward the robber and a loud shot rang out. Nordan didn¡¯t waste time to figure out where it went. Instead, he tackled the surprised robber. The gun flung out of his hands and Nordan started beating the shit out of him.
He wasn¡¯t sure how long he had been beating down on the robber, just that there was blood everywhere. He wasn¡¯t sure if that was the robber¡¯s or his.
He slowly fell off the robber as blood continued to leak out of his body. It didn¡¯t take him long to figure out that the blood was in fact his.
¡°Holy shit, are you okay?¡± the gas station employee shouted as he ran up to him.
Nordan coughed up blood as he began to feel tired again. Hell, he shouldn¡¯t be fired if he skipped his shift just once, right?
¡°Hold on, the ambulance is on the way! Just hang on!¡± the employee stammered.
Nordan would have shook his head if he could. He was definitely not hanging on, he was tired as hell. The floor wasn¡¯t very comfortable but at this point, he just needed some sleep.
He saw the man run to his family in the distance. They all hugged each other bringing a smile to Nordan¡¯s face. He wanted a family like that. They looked so happy. He wanted to be just like that.
Nordan gasped for air as he realized he could get none. Whatever, he didn¡¯t need it to go to sleep anyway. He felt his eyes shut as he started to drift off. The faint sirens in the distance couldn¡¯t even stop him from doing so.
¡°Holy shit! Please, just a little¡¡± The words of the employee faded out as Nordan became unresponsive.
He was dreaming. Dreaming of a world where he could be happy and a true hero. Perhaps, even have a family along the way. Wait, the word ¡°perhaps¡± wasn¡¯t cutting it. He would have a family¡ and he would protect them no matter what. Most importantly, he would be happy.
Such dreams were the last thing Nordan recalled before drifting off into an endless slumber of nothingness.
Chapter 2: The First Creation
Ah, yes, the beauty of nothingness was truly elite. Such a novel concept it was to cease to exist¡
Yet, it didn¡¯t take Nordan long to realize that he did in fact still exist. He was thinking after all. That was weird considering that he couldn¡¯t see or feel anything. It was all completely dark.
He recalled the previous events. The family man, the gunshot, his coffee, and then his eventual death. That seemed all too clear now. He must have died.
So, was this the afterlife? In that case, why was he able to still think? Why didn¡¯t his consciousness fade away along with his life?
Such questions lingered away in Nordan¡¯s mind as he continued to simply exist in emptiness.
¡
He instinctively tried to speak but found that he couldn¡¯t. The only sign of him being alive was his ability to think. There was truly nothing else signaling his existence.
So, he waited for something to happen. Surely, the afterlife wasn¡¯t like this forever. If it was then he would probably end up going insane or something. He couldn¡¯t imagine existing in darkness till the end of time.
As soon as such a thought crossed his mind, a flash appeared before his eyes relieving him of his stress.
Activate System: 100 Astral energy
A system? Nordan contemplated what he was going to do for a second. He had heard of these supposed systems before. They were usually fantastical, godlike programs that ran entire universes. At least, that¡¯s how they were in some of the books he had read with them. Nordan hadn¡¯t ever developed one of his own.
He tried to nod his head only to remember that he didn¡¯t have one. Instead, he confirmed that he indeed wanted to activate the system in his mind. The bright words flickered before disappearing with a flash.
Now, Nordan was confused. Did he mess something up? Was he going to be stuck like this forever?
Suddenly, the flash returned even brighter than before. A list of various words appeared in front of him
Nordan Sanus
Tier: Simple Being
Astral Energy: 5
Total Astral Rate: 1/second
Upgrades:
- Cost: 1,000 Astral Energy per Square Meter
Nordan briefly absorbed all the information that was just listed for him. He was still wildly confused but at least he had a sort of direction to go toward. It seemed as if he had two options.
He needed to either buy land with this weird astral energy or upgrade his level. Considering the current rate at which he gained astral energy, Nordan didn¡¯t think that either option was a bad choice. He didn¡¯t seem to have a time limit on anything so he wasn¡¯t too worried about making a wrong decision.
With this in mind, he decided to just wait the 1000 seconds and see what leveling up did. After he did so, he could better figure out a plan of action with the information he gathered.
To pass the time, he slowly watched his total astral energy rise up per second. It certainly wasn¡¯t very entertaining but it was better than nothing. While he was doing so, he couldn¡¯t help but wonder how everything was so personalized for him.
The so-called system was in English and the measurements were all in units he understood. Well, truthfully none of this system stuff made much logical sense so perhaps it was better to just accept it and ride along with what he knew.
Slowly but surely Nordan¡¯s astral energy went up until it reached the required threshold of 1000. Now, it was time to buy the level up¡ except he didn¡¯t know how.
As it turns out, it wasn¡¯t very hard. All he had to do was simply think about wanting to level up and it did so automatically.
-1000 Astral Energy
Level Up!
Astral Rate x10
New Upgrade Unlocked: Life
Nordan curiously looked over his new upgrades and quickly looked over his new upgrade.
- Cost: 10,000 Astral Energy per Creation
He also caught a glimpse at the changes that took place on his level upgrades and it was safe to say that he wouldn¡¯t be able to just wait for another upgrade again. This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it.
- Cost: 100,000 Astral Energy
While the rate at which he gained astral energy went up tremendously, the cost for his next level went up even more. Nordan assumed this was because the supposed system wanted him to start experimenting with the other upgrades such as land or life forms.
If that were the case then he had no problem doing that considering he was earning ten times the amount of land cost per second. He quickly bought his first piece of land.
Suddenly, he appeared on top of a tiny square meter slab of dirt. Somehow, he could see everything clearly even though it was dark and he had no eyes. Such was the power of a god.
Despite this exciting development, Nordan was already starting to find a great many flaws in his upgrade. One square meter was tiny. He could buy a lot of them but how many would he need for an actual reasonably sized planet? Furthermore, the land in itself was just dirt. Sure, he could buy a ton of them but what was the point of having a massive dirt world?
Still, he decided to expand his tiny abode into something much more reasonable. Unfortunately, even his upgraded astral aura pace was not enough to make this expansion quick. Soon enough, he was able to create a small bedroom-sized area with his dirt. He made sure to put slabs on the sides and top of the area to ensure that there wasn¡¯t just nothingness perusing his tiny world.
Next, he would need to create his first life form. This would also allow him to gain another source of astral energy which seemed to be the key to this whole operation. Unfortunately, doing this would require Nordan to wait another 2000 seconds to reach the required energy.
It was only after he waited the full 2000 seconds that he realized he somehow added a 2 in there for no reason. While he was certainly annoyed about this, he decided that it wasn¡¯t actually too big a deal. Now he had enough to make two lifeforms rather than one.
Of course, he knew what he wanted to create as soon as he saw the upgrade. He would recreate humanity.
He instantly acted on his thoughts and soon, his first human being appeared out of nowhere.
¡°Huh? Where¡ am I?¡± a distinctly feminine voice said shakily.
As soon as Nordan saw the person he created, he nearly choked, or at least he would have if he were corporeal. In his box was one of the prettiest women Nordan had ever seen.
She had pure white hair coupled with a petite face that radiated maturity. Her pale body was perfectly proportional with seemingly no imperfections. Yet, what enchanted him the most were her eyes. They were a deep blue, similar to the oceans of Earth.
It seemed that his consciousness must have played a role in how his creations looked. Oh, and apparently without clothes.
Nordan tried to cover his eyes or block out the vision of his world but he couldn¡¯t. The best he could do was maintain eye contact with the opposite wall at all times. Still, he didn¡¯t doubt that if he could, he would have a wild grin on his face.
Yet, he also didn¡¯t doubt that the same grin would have quickly turned into horror as the woman suddenly clutched at her throat and started gagging. She couldn¡¯t breathe.
Nordan started to panic as the woman began to struggle more and more. He watched as she fell over onto the ground. Desperate for anything to prolong her life.
¡°Please¡. Why! Don¡¯t¡. Want¡ die¡¡± she muttered as her consciousness left her body.
A desperate idea suddenly came to Nordan¡¯s head as she threw open the upgrades screen and purchased another life form.
A green plant with a clear bulb soon grew from the ground and right next to the woman. As soon as the bubble popped, the woman took a deep breath and slowly reopened her eyes.
Nordan sighed in relief as he watched the plant start to develop another bubble. He had created an entirely new life form, unlike anything from earth. It was a plant that produced oxygen directly.
To think that his stupid calculation mishap had actually saved him from another much greater one. To think that he almost just created this woman just for her to die was¡ terrifying.
The woman slowly got back up and stared in astonishment at the plant.
¡°Thank you,¡± she said while staring at it.
The woman then decided to lay against the plant and sleep. Nordan wasn¡¯t surprised as he hadn¡¯t exactly given her much else to do.
As soon as the woman awoke, a strange noise emitted from her stomach. She stared at the dirt longingly as if waiting for something else to appear. It took Nordan a moment for him to realize that she was hungry and likely thirsty as well. Humans did need such things to live after all.
By now, he had enough points to create plenty of life forms. He took it upon himself to create three more plants for the woman.
First, came a thick stalk that slowly morphed into a tree. Out of it came multiple fruits, specifically avocados. Next, a long green stalk came out of the ground and continued to rise until the top morphed into a bowl. A few moments later, the bowl began to fill up with water. The final plant was another long stalk with an orb coming out of the end. It¡¯s sole purpose was to emit light.
The woman immediately threw her face into the water and began to drink away. She instantly knew what to do with it. Once she had her fill of that, she went on to the avocados and picked as many as she could. It didn¡¯t take her long to gorge herself on avocados.
Once she was done, she carefully looked at the two plants and analyzed them.
¡°Thank you,¡± she said with a nod.
Afterward, she started pacing around the room like a zoo animal. It didn¡¯t take a genius to figure out that she was bored but Nordan didn¡¯t know what to do.
That was until he had yet another one of his amazing ideas¡ except it didn¡¯t work. He had tried to create a plant that grew a simple single-player board game. However, it didn¡¯t work. It seemed that there were limitations to what he could do or not.
With that plan gone, he decided to continue to create more life for the woman. It was the least and only thing he could do.
The first thing he created was a cotton tree. The woman immediately went straight toward and picked one of the fruits. To Nordan¡¯s horror, she immediately stuck it in her mouth. Thankfully, it didn¡¯t take her long to figure out that it didn¡¯t taste good and she spit it out.
¡°What the hell! This isn¡¯t food!¡± she exclaimed angrily.
She walked up to the tree and started punching it. She then realized that wasn¡¯t a very good idea either.
¡°Why are you so hard! Let me hurt you!¡± she growled.
Nordan desperately wanted to communicate to her but he couldn¡¯t. The woman tried punching the tree again and ended up scratching her fist.
¡°Ow! Stupid¡ whatever you are!¡± she shouted as she stormed back toward the avocado tree and sat up against it.
Nordan couldn¡¯t help but laugh at his observations. Although he wasn¡¯t talking to her, it felt good to not be completely alone. Still, he felt bad about her situation.
It was then that Nordan decided he would give her a friend.
Chapter 3: A Small Time War
As soon as he got it, another human being rose from the dust and looked around. It was another woman, as Nordan wasn¡¯t sure what would happen if he put a man in there. Besides, it would have hurt his soul a little if he did.
A tanned skin black-haired woman slowly rose from the ground while staring at the other woman with sharp eyes. She held a thicker frame with strenuous muscles
¡°What is this?¡± she growled.
The white-haired woman, who he had named Liliam took a step back and said, ¡°Food and drink.¡±
A sick gleam came over the black-haired woman as she stormed forward and grabbed a handful of avocados. She started gorging on as many as she could put her hands on.
¡°Wait! Please save some!¡± Liliam cried.
The black-haired girl sneered as she continued to grab more avocados, ¡°Don¡¯t care. These are mine.¡±
Nordan wasn¡¯t sure what had gone wrong. He had simply done the same thing as when he created Liliam. Why was this woman so much different?
¡°Wait! Please!¡± Liliam cried as she ran up to the black-haired girl whom Nordan decided to name Raven.
However, Raven was much stronger than Liliam and she was not afraid to use that strength. She pushed Liliam back hard enough to make her fall to her feet.
¡°Ow! Why did you¡¡± she asked.
Raven snarled as she walked up to Liliam and punched her mercilessly. By now, Nordan was once again freaking out. Why was she doing this?
Liliam backed up in terror as Raven snickered, ¡°My food, bitch. Stay away or die.¡±
Liliam slowly nodded her head as she backed up into a corner with tears running down her bruised face.
Raven smirked as she continued to gorge on avocados until there were none left. She then focused on the water and slurped down as much as she could. Eventually, that ran out too.
¡°You! Where is more food?¡± she growled.
Liliam rapidly shook her head in fear and said, ¡°I don¡¯t know! It just appeared!¡±
Raven hissed as she walked up to Liliam. ¡°Tell me bitch or I¡¯ll eat you!¡±
Liliam looked terrified but she couldn¡¯t do anything. Nordan sighed as he created another avocado tree next to the other one catching the attention of both Raven and Liliam.
Raven glanced at Liliam before making her way to the new avocado tree and gorging again. Liliam sat there and started crying, making Nordan feel horrible. Why was Raven so much¡ worse than Liliam?
Unfortunately, Nordan partly knew the reason why. Human culture as he knew it was carefully developed over thousands of years. Before all of that, it was just like this. Eat or be eaten.
Why Liliam had turned out so much different from what nature was supposed to be was beyond Nordan. However, he knew that he wanted her to live. For lack of a better word, she was special to him.
Thankfully, as soon as Raven finished consuming her fill of avocados, she fell asleep next to the tree. Liliam was clearly hungry but her fear of Raven outweighed her desire to eat or drink. This worried Nordan so he decided to do something for her.
As she sat in her corner, he slowly expanded the space behind her until there was another bedroom-sized space. He immediately knew that he couldn¡¯t remove any dirt blocks that would have exposed his life to the nothingness but he could once there was somewhere else to go to.
That was exactly what he did causing Liliam to fall backward in surprise. She slowly got up and looked at the small room in surprise. Inside of it were five more plants. An avocado tree, a water stalk, an oxygen plant, a light one, and another new one.
Nordan didn¡¯t like that she was hurt by Raven so he decided to create another plant with medicinal properties. He designed it so that it dripped a healing ointment that healed wounds upon touching them.
Liliam slowly investigated it. At first, she started drinking the liquid but quickly realized it tasted horrible. As she was doing that, a few drops landed on her face and she immediately felt the healing sensation.
She jumped back in surprise as she felt her face with her hands. She gasped as she realized that the bruising was nearly all gone. It didn¡¯t take her long to fully douse her entire body under the liquid.
Nordan smiled as he watched her smile for the first time ever. She then treated herself to a few avocados and a couple of drinks of water. This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
A soft grumble caused both Nordan and Liliam to jump back. Obviously, Nordan didn¡¯t actually jump but he imagined he would have if he was human.
Raven was moments away from waking and that meant she would find Liliam¡¯s stash. Luckily, Liliam seemed to understand what needed to be done as she walked back inside the main room. Nordan sealed the room behind causing her to open her eyes in wonder. She looked around as if there were someone there but soon realized that she had much bigger problems.
Raven woke up with a grunt as she looked around the room. Once her greedy eyes found sight of Liliam, she sneered.
¡°I¡¯m bored. Entertain me,¡± she commanded.
¡°How?¡± Liliam asked.
She tried to back away but Raven walked up and grabbed her. ¡°I said to entertain me bitch. Do it or be my food.¡±
Liliam slowly started to dance around in an attempt to do as Raven was asking. She was laughing ar first but soon found that it still wasn¡¯t enough. She slammed her fist into Liliam¡¯s gut causing her to fall to the ground and gasp for air.
¡°Please! Stop!¡± Liliam cried.
Raven started laughing harder as she kicked Liliam again, preventing her from getting more air. Nordan was becoming angry but what could he do?
Liliam¡¯s beating went on for a little while longer until she lost consciousness and Raven became bored. She went back to eating avocados and fell back asleep. Eventually, Liliam woke back up and crawled back toward her corner.
Nordan immediately opened up the passage for her and she crawled inside. She barely made it to the medicinal plant before she collapsed from exhaustion. Thankfully, the plant did its thing, and all her wounds were healed.
Unfortunately, this didn¡¯t mean her mental ones. She barely ate any food or drank any water. Instead, she was continuously glancing at the entrance to the room in terror. She was about to head back to the main room but Nordan decided that he wouldn¡¯t let her.
He sealed the entrance causing Liliam to back away.
¡°Wait! She¡¯ll break through! It¡¯s soft! Please! She¡¯ll come and get me!¡± Liliam cried out.
Still, Nordan couldn¡¯t bear to see her get beat like that again.
¡°Please!¡± Liliam cried.
Nordan desperately wanted to comfort her but he couldn¡¯t. He was forced to watch as Liliam was tortured. Worst of all, it was all his fault. He had thought that creating another person would have made Liliam happier. Not this.
Suddenly, a roar sounded out from the main room. Raven had awoken and she was clearly not happy about her play thing being missing.
¡°Where are you bitch! You¡¯re mine!¡± She kicked around the dirt in different places. That was until Liliam shuffled and made noise.
Raven instantly heard it and locked in on Liliam¡¯s location. She started digging through the dirt for her sport which terrified Liliam even more.
Nordan once again started panicking as things were not looking good. If Raven caught Liliam then there was no doubt in his mind that she was going to kill her.
Suddenly, he thought of something. He created a plant right next to Liliam which quickly got her attention. The plan quickly grew into a hard sharp object with a slight groove in the center.
Thankfully, Liliam caught on as she slowly broke the sharp object from the plant. She held it up in front of her and slowly nodded to herself.
As soon as she did that, Raven¡¯s fist punched through to the other side. The dirt wall proceeded to collapse as she pushed herself through.
¡°You hide from me with food!¡± she growled as she looked around the room.
¡°Now, you¡¯ll be my food!¡± she screamed as she charged at Liliam.
This time, Liliam threw herself to the side, barely dodging Raven¡¯s charge.
¡°Stop moving!¡± Raven cried in anger.
She ran back up to Liliam and launched her fist at her. Lialiam used her weapon to block the fist; however, it still managed to push her back.
¡°What is that? What are you trying to do?¡± Raven cried.
Liliam refused to respond as she glared at Raven with hate. She was done being her plaything. She was either going to kill Raven or die trying.
Liliam charged Raven, taking her by surprise. She never expected the weak Liliam to do such a thing.
This allowed Liliam to puncture her stick straight through Raven¡¯s stomach causing her to scream in pain.
Raven fell over with the stick still inside of her. Not knowing any better, she pulled the stick out of her stomach causing blood to burst out of her. She gradually stood up waving it around like a madman. Perhaps, she was exactly that.
Nordan could tell that Raven didn¡¯t have much longer left; however, she could still do plenty of damage in the time she did have.
This was exactly why he started freaking out when Raven charged Liliam with the stick in her hand.
Liliam tried to dodge like she did before but Raven saw through it and grabbed her by her neck.
¡°Now you die!¡± she screamed right before bringing the stick back to stab Liliam.
Liliam closed her eyes in acceptance and prepared herself for the blow. A quick whoosh of the air and it was all over¡ but not for Liliam.
She slowly opened her eyes in confusion as Raven stared at Lydia with wide eyes. Blood started leaking out of her mouth as she slowly looked down at her waist. There was a large plant jammed in there, one that seemingly came out of nowhere.
Yet, Liliam knew where it had come from along with all the other plants that appeared.
Raven slowly slid off the plant and fell to the ground, dead. Liliam stared at her for a moment before walking over to the medicinal plant and healing herself. She then grabbed more avocados than usual and walked back toward Raven. She placed them on her body.
She then walked back to the main room and sat down next to the oxygen plant. She stared at it for a moment before saying.
¡°Why¡ did you help?¡± she asked.
Nordan couldn¡¯t respond but he as always, wanted to. It broke his heart to have to leave her questions unanswered.
¡°Can you¡ not speak?¡± she asked.
Suddenly, an idea popped into Nordan¡¯s head. He summoned a small green flower on the ground. Lilium stared at it with wide eyes until she thought of something.
¡°Um¡ does that mean yes?¡± she asked.
Another green flower rose up in front of her. A small smile came over her face as she looked at the ground excitedly.
¡°Um, so can you speak?¡± she asked.
This time, a red flower arose from the ground. Liliam smiled widely and Nordan could only imagine he would be doing the same if he could. He could communicate with her. Finally.
Chapter 4: Growth
¡°Stupid, Sav! Please, just one more new type of food!¡± Liliam begged, calling Nordan by her supposed nickname. He believed that she was shortening the word savior and just calling him Sav.
Reluctantly, Nordan sent another one of his classic red flowers to relay to Liliam that he would not in fact be doing that, at least not for another hour. He needed to save up for the next level.
Unfortunately, he couldn¡¯t really relay this to her so she continued to complain about not getting her tree.
¡°Sav! Please!¡± she said with a pout.
When he didn¡¯t respond as fast as he usually did, Liliam frowned and sat down angrily. ¡°Now, you¡¯re gonna take forever to respond! I hate you!¡±
Nordan felt bad but couldn¡¯t help but laugh as Liliam pouted in the corner. He had expanded her living space to around the size of two gyms. He had also given her plenty of plants to entertain and feed her. That along with talking with her for the past few weeks had taken up most of Nordan¡¯s astral energy. However, he had finally decided to start expanding on his level again.
Considering that the only one who could actually ask questions was Liliam, Nordan had no way to tell her what he was doing. So he felt bad, but it was unfortunately necessary to improve himself. He also figured whatever he got when he upgraded would make it better for Liliam.
After another hour of listening to Liliam complain, he finally had enough to upgrade to the next level. He did so without hesitation.

Nordan immediately pulled up his new upgrade screen with a big smile on his face. He should have leveled up so much longer ago! He was now making ten times the amount of astral energy he was making previously.
- Cost: 100,000 Astral Energy
It seemed that he could also create different materials besides just dirt which was certainly something he would need if he wanted to make an actual world.
¡°Sav¡ please. You¡¯re scaring me,¡± Liliam whimpered in her corner.
Nordan snapped his attention back to her and frowned upon seeing tears falling from her eyes. Now that he was making so much astral energy, it took him no time at all to create a green flower in front of her.
Her eyes lit up as the flower grew in front of her. However, her eagerness soon turned to anger as she shouted, ¡°What were you doing? You¡¯re such a jerk!¡±
A red flower quickly rose in front of Liliam who stomped it. Nordan thought that was a little harsh and Liliam seemed to as well as she frowned.
¡°I¡¯m sorry. That was mean of me,¡± she said.
Nordan couldn¡¯t help but smile¡ or at least he would have if he could. Anyway, now that he could create different materials, it would be time to start renovating the place.
After creating a small pool near some of the plants and attracting Liliam¡¯s attention, Nordan spent the 100,000 astral energy to fill it up with water. Surprised, Lilium quickly jumped inside.
¡°Woah, is this that plant stuff?¡± she asked.
Nordan sent a green flower to portray his response. Upon seeing it, Lilian jumped up and down in the water.
¡°How did you make it on your own!¡± she exclaimed. Although, she asked the question she was well aware that she wasn¡¯t going to get an answer.
¡°After spending time in the water and splashing around, Liliam jumped out and started yawning against a particular soft plant Nordan created for her sleeping situation.
¡°I¡¯m tired now, Sav. I¡¯m going to go to sleep, okay?¡± she said.
In response, Nordan sent a green flower to acknowledge her. Upon seeing it, Liliam nodded her head and closed her eyes.
Now that Liliam was unable to distract him, he decided to pull up his status to see how he was doing.

- Cost: 100,000 Astral Energy
Everything looked normal besides one thing. His next level upgrade called for something called astral essences. He wasn¡¯t exactly sure what these were but he had a few guesses. His primary one was that after reaching a certain number of astral energy, it morphed into one of the next tiers of whatever this astral system was.
He didn¡¯t have much data to go off but considering that the upgrade from level one to two increased the required energy by 100x, Nordan believed it was safe to believe that the same happened here, especially since his astral rate increased by the same ten times.
This led to him believing that his next required astral energy rate would be 100x 100,000 which was a whopping ten million astral energy or in this case, ten astral essences.
At first, Nordan was terrified of this since it seemed like it would take forever to level up. Thankfully, after a few calculations, Nordan figured out that it would actually only take around half a day of no spending to save up for the next level. However, this would mean that he would have to tell Liliam that he would be out of touch with her for that long He couldn¡¯t bear it if she sat in a corner and cried for that long. You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version.
The problem was that he had no idea how to do this. He had barely figured out how to communicate with her through flowers but now he needed to portray his own thoughts to her somehow. He would never get to his goal if he constantly spent all his energy on flowers after all.
That¡¯s when a thought hit him. He could still use plants. Instead of simply creating flowers to portray yes or no, what if he created a plant that could make noise? Specifically, a noise replicating the exact words he wants to portray?
Such an idea was quickly turned to mush as soon as he created his first one. The plant made a noise but it was so high-pitched that Liliam couldn¡¯t hear it.
¡°What are you doing, Sav?¡± Liliam asked, wondering what this new plant was.
¡°Is it food?¡± she continued.
A red flower appeared next to her answering her question. She frowned as she inspected it.
¡°I wish you could talk, Sav. It would make things a lot easier¡¡± she said sadly.
Nordan also wished he could talk and was currently working on a solution. Unfortunately, he couldn¡¯t help it if nothing he did worked.
Yet, Nordan was not about to give up. This issue of not being able to communicate well with Liliam was bugging him and had been for a while. His next idea would utilize the idea of a plant being able to say a certain phrase; however, Nordan expanded on it. He had forgotten that plants can only make noises at extremely high frequencies. Using plants was exactly his problem.
Instead, he would create a type of creature that was able to say a certain phrase, kind of like a representative of him. After saying the phrase, it would then melt away into nothingness. He was just fine-tuning what the creature would look like and then he would employ it. He just didn¡¯t want to scare Liliam with something unnatural.
That is exactly why he chose a small bird as the communicator. Specifically, he would create a cute green bird that couldn¡¯t possibly be creepy in any way.
As soon as he finished conceptualizing the creature in his head, he sent it out in front of Liliam.
She immediately jumped back as soon as she saw it and hid behind a small tree.
¡°Hello!¡± the bird squealed before disappearing into a poof of feathers.
She crept out of her hiding spot with wide eyes. She wasn¡¯t expecting the bird to speak.
¡°Hello? Sav?¡± she asked.
Another bird appeared in front of causing her to jump back once again. Thankfully, she didn¡¯t hide this time.
¡°Yes, this is Sav. It is good to talk to you finally, Liliam,¡± the bird squawked before disappearing.
Nordan was excited at this new development. Finally, he could actually talk with Liliam.
For some reason, Liliam looked confused and asked, ¡°Liliam? Is that¡ my name?¡±
Nordan hadn¡¯t even realized that he had never actually called her that before. He had just been doing it for so long that it was natural in his head.
The bird once again appeared and said, ¡°Yes¡ do you like it?¡±
Liliam thought about it for a second before slowly nodding her head. ¡°Yes¡ it sounds pretty. Thank you.¡± She shuffled embarrassedly.
¡°That is good, I¡¯m glad. I am happy that we can finally speak,¡± Nordan responded through bird.
Liliam happily nodded her head and said, ¡°Me, too. Why didn¡¯t you do this before dummy? We could have been speaking to each other a long time ago!¡±
¡°Yes, yes, I know. I just figured out I could do this myself.¡± Nordan responded.
Liliam nodded but soon frowned. Although she was born in a world without any resemblance to modern-day Earth, she was still quite smart. This is exactly why she figured that something motivated Nordan to create this new invention.
¡°Why now, though? What are you going to be doing?¡± she asked.
Nordan was actually able to make the bird sigh. ¡°Every time I speak with you, I use some of my energy. I get it back over time but I also need it to upgrade myself and this small world of ours. Unfortunately, I will be unable to communicate with you for half a day to gain enough energy to upgrade my level.¡±
Liliam sighed, ¡°I knew it! That¡¯s why you wouldn¡¯t respond sometimes. That was¡ scary!
¡°I know, I¡¯m sorry¡ but if it makes you feel any better, I will be able to create more stuff when I upgrade.¡±
Liliam¡¯s frown turned into a smile as soon as she heard that, ¡°Really¡ will you be able to create more food?¡±
¡°Yep, and all sorts of new terrain and cool stuff. I¡¯m sure you¡¯ll love it¡¡± he said.
¡°Fine, fine, just go then. I want new food¡ but how long is a half a day exactly?¡± Liliam asked.
Nordan was about to respond within 12 hours but realized that she wouldn¡¯t have any clue what that meant. This would mean that he would have to figure out another way to communicate time.
He quickly figured out how much time they had spent speaking. Considering it had been around five minutes, he was able to divide that by the total number of minutes in a day.
¡°This conversation has taken around five minutes,¡± Nordan said.
Liliam nodded although it was clear she didn¡¯t know what that meant. However, she didn¡¯t need to.
¡°Think about that time multiplied by 144,¡± Nordan said
Lilam was clearly still confused as she didn¡¯t know what multiplied meant so Nordan was forced to make himself even clearer.
¡°Hmm, think about this conversation happening 144 times in a row,¡± he said.
This time Liliam frowned. ¡°I don¡¯t think I am understanding correctly. From what I understood, you said that I would have to wait through 144 more conversations except you won¡¯t be speaking with me. I don¡¯t think that¡¯s what you meant.¡±
Nordan sighed as that was exactly what he meant. ¡°No, you have it right.¡±
¡°No,¡± she said.
¡°C¡¯mon, Liliam¡ I have to do this,¡± Nordan sighed.
¡°Nope! I won¡¯t let you!¡± she said angrily.
¡°I promise, if you sleep then it will go by quickly. It won¡¯t really be as long as it sounds,¡± Nordan said.
¡°You¡¯re just lying so I say you can do it but I won¡¯t let you! I¡ I will be really lonely¡ I can¡¯t be like that again.¡±
Nordan could tell she was referring to when she first came into this world. That loneliness was exactly why he had tried to create Raven. Unfortunately, that solution failed miserably.
¡°I¡¯m sorry,¡± Nordan said sadly. He hadn¡¯t even realized he said it as it was more instinctual than anything.
¡°What for?¡± Liliam asked.
¡°For bringing you here so early. I should have waited but I got too excited. The world¡ it could be a much better place.¡±
Liliam did something unexpected and shook her head. ¡°No, I am grateful to be here as I am. It may not be as grand as you speak of but I don¡¯t need that. I am happy to be here with you.¡±
Nordan inwardly smiled as he was about to send out another bird. Yet, Liliam wasn¡¯t done.
¡°I have decided that I will wait for your half a day if it makes you happy¡ but that is it okay! Nothing else after that!¡± she said sternly.
¡°Okay, ma¡¯am. That sounds like a deal.¡± Nordan said happily.
Liliam nodded in agreeance she shooed his bird away, ¡°Alright, go now¡ before I change my mind, idiot!¡±
Nordan sighed, it was going to be a long day.
Chapter 5: A Sunny Day
So, Nordan ended up waiting for the time required to level up. At first, he entertained himself by watching Liliam walk around in circles and huff; however, she soon fell asleep. So, he was once again forced to the confines of his own mind. Although he was essentially a god of his own world, sometimes he wished he could go back to the way it was.
He missed some of the video games he played and his old stories. Still, none of this really beat the fact that he was creating his own world! That was truly something no one else could say they¡¯d done. Unfortunately, this didn¡¯t change the boredom that took place when waiting for more astral energy.
As soon as he could, Nordan upgraded himself to the next level and once again got the normal bonuses along with a few more.
-10 Astral Essences
Level Up!
Astral Rate x10
New Upgrade Unlocked: Energy
Warning: Domain Change. Add an energy source or all life will cease to exist in 24 hours.
Nordan gasped as he saw the final message and instantly checked the energy upgrade.
- Cost: 1 Astral Essence Per Source
- Astral Rate: -100 Astral Energy/second per
Not only did Nordan have to get a supposed energy source up in less than a day, he also noticed that his astral rate would actually go down. He would have to spend some of his astral energy to maintain his energy source!
Nordan groaned as he looked over at the angry Liliam. She had become increasingly annoyed as she waited for Nordan to return. Thankfully, he would be able to get enough astral energy to create this energy source in less than 1000 seconds which thankfully wasn¡¯t very long. What was long was the now 10,000 astral essences he needed to level up. After doing some quick calculations, he figured out that it would take around 11 days to reach his desired goal.
It was clear that he was supposed to have had some sort of civilization by now to level up his astral energy production. He hadn¡¯t done this and was stuck with his lower-level income.
Yet, he wasn¡¯t sad about the outcome. He was enjoying the time he had spent with Liliam and wouldn¡¯t have replaced it with anything else. Shockingly, Liliam never complained about anything besides talking with him or food.
At first, Nordan was surprised by this because he could think of all the amazing things that earth had. If anyone from there were to be taken here, they would probably think it was some kind of torture. He quickly realized that Liliam had no conception of what any of those things were.
In a way, he felt kind of sad for her. It was likely that she would never do some of the things he did. That thought process soon ended as he continued to talk with her. She always looked so happy doing so, even happier than most modern-day people.
As soon as he had enough astral energy to add an energy source, he did so. Sure enough, his astral production rate went down but in return, a small ball of fire appeared in the corner of his tiny dirt world.
Energy Source added.
Liliam looked over at it in surprise and suddenly shivered. She began to look terrified.
¡°What is this, I feel horrible!¡± she yelled out.
¡°The upgrade is complete¡ I guess you must be feeling cold, huh?¡± Nordan asked.
¡°Stupid, Sav! Why did you need to upgrade if it made things worse!¡± she cried.
Nordan sighed, ¡°Liliam, dear, I think it¡¯s about time you learned what clothes were.
She glared at the bird and said, ¡°What are clothes?¡±
Nordan had a bird fly up to one of the cotton trees and point at it. ¡°This is cotton.
Originally, I gave this to you to create clothes but it was clear you didn¡¯t know how. Now, I will teach you how.¡±
¡°What if I don¡¯t wanna?¡± Liliam pouted.
¡°Then you can stay cold,¡± Nordan said with a sigh.
Reluctantly, Liliam trudged over to the bird and listened to his lecture on how to create a simple shirt and pants. This narrative has been purloined without the author''s approval. Report any appearances on Amazon.
¡°Sav! This is hard!¡± she cried as she tried to maneuver a few cotton strands together.
¡°I know it is, Liliam, but I know you can do it,¡± Nordan said.
He watched as Liliam slowly but surely started to get the hang of it. She began to maneuver the strings into the right places and eventually, managed to create more of a blanket than anything.
¡°Look at it! I did it!¡± She held out the blanket for Sav to see.
¡°I like it. You¡¯re doing great,¡± Nordan had a bird say.
¡°And it really is warm, you weren¡¯t lying!¡±
¡°Well, of course I wasn¡¯t¡ I wouldn¡¯t lie to you,¡± Nordan groaned.
Yet, Liliam stopped in her tracks and looked puzzled. ¡°Sav¡ am I special to you?¡±
Nordan paused for a moment and felt like he would be crying if he could. What a wholesome question.
¡°Yes¡ yes very much so,¡± Nordan said.
Liliam smiled and began to jump up and down for joy. ¡°Yay! I¡¯m so glad!¡±
She soon froze and inadvertently blushed, ¡°Ya know, you¡¯re real special to me too, Sav.¡±
Nordan felt warmer than he ever had before, even when he was human. Liliam was perhaps the greatest thing to ever happen to him in any of his lives.
¡°I can¡¯t wait to show you everything that the world has to offer. It truly is endless,¡± Nordan said excitedly.
¡°Really? There¡¯s even more than stuff like heat or food or clothes?¡± She started jittering from excitement
¡°Mhm¡ now speaking of clothes, you do know you are supposed to wear that right? How else will you stave off the cold?¡±
Liliam stared bitterly at the piece of cloth she produced and attempted to wrap it around her body. After failing a few times, she finally got it to stay.
¡°Yes! I¡¯m so smart!¡± she cried.
Nordan was happier than he could ever imagine. Mostly because of his recent conversation with Liliam but also because he could now fully look at her without shame. She may have looked like a cave woman but that was surely better than nothing.
¡°So, Sav, are you able to make more food, now?¡± Liliam asked shamelessly.
He giggled to himself as he said, ¡°Of course,¡±
He took the time to create an apple tree that produced plump red apples. He watched as Liliam gently picked one and bit right into it.
Her eyes lit up in surprise as she quickly munched the entire thing down. ¡°That was good!¡±
She quickly grabbed another apple and chomped it down like it was candy. Perhaps something so sweet wasn¡¯t the best idea¡
Still, Nordan decided to let her learn her own limits. He couldn¡¯t tell her how to do anything.
A few hours, he laughed at the image of her groaning on the floor. ¡°Sav! I feel horrible! What did you do to me?¡±
He sent a bird out to say, ¡°Nothing, silly. I don¡¯t know why you ate so many apples at once.¡±
She groaned as she said, ¡°I didn¡¯t know they would make me feel sick! Why didn¡¯t you warn me!¡±
¡°You have to learn yourself sometimes,¡± he responded.
She became red in the face as her face morphed into one of annoyance. ¡°I¡¯ll teach you¡ idiot!¡±
Nordan laughed at the false threat and decided to do something special for her.
He added a whole energy source to the pool of water he had created to heat it up. Once he did so, he removed it and tested a plant there to ensure it was a safe temperature.
¡°Go ahead and jump in there,¡± he offered
Liliam gave a confused look at the bird until doing as he said, clothes and all. Nordan had not thought about that.
¡°Woah! That feels so good!¡± she said happily.
She splashed around for a few moments before yawning.
¡°Wait!¡± Nordan screeched in her ear, causing her to jump back in surprise.
¡°You stupid idiot, why did you do that!¡± she yelled, smacking the bird.
¡°You can¡¯t fall asleep in there moron, you¡¯ll die!¡± he said.
She looked at the water with wide eyes and slowly got out. ¡°Are you trying to kill me?¡±
¡°No, that¡¯s why I told you about it. It¡¯s way safe unless you stay in there for a super long time.
She nodded her head and decided to just sit up against her normal tree instead. This didn¡¯t make Nordan feel too good, so he decided to create a sort of pillow plant so she could sleep better. He ended up creating a ton of these to form a sort of bed and instructed Liliam to sleep there.
As always, she was hesitant at first but soon found herself enjoying the soft plants much more than the hard trees. Once she fell asleep, Nordan allowed himself to reflect on everything he had gained so far.
With the addition of energy, he now had everything he needed to make a real world. At this point, he could start to create a world just like earth but he disliked that idea. He didn¡¯t want to just replicate what he once had when he could do so much more.
He could save so many lives by creating medicinal plants or not creating bacteria. There were nearly infinite solutions to what he could do.
He glanced at the now fast-asleep Liliam. He wanted to show her all those things. He wanted her to experience them. Even more than that, he wanted to be able to show her in person. He didn¡¯t want to be some god that could only watch over people.
Indeed, that was another one of his worries. It would suck if all he could do was forever watch over his creations and indirectly interact with them. He wanted to live with them.
Chapter 6: Welcome To The Godly System
¡°Sav, do you want a cookie?¡± Liliam spun around in her homemade dress while holding out a cookie toward his bird.
¡°I already told you goofball, I can¡¯t eat anything¡ but I¡¯m sure it¡¯s good,¡± he sighed.
¡°Yeah, yeah, I know¡ but I¡¯m sure you would really like it! I wish you could¡¡± she muttered.
¡°I know I would really like it too,¡± he said.
It had been an undetermined amount of time since Nordan¡¯s last level-up. In fact, he could have done it ages ago but he had never gotten around to doing so. Instead, he had been distracted showing Liliam all the wonderful things she could do.
Currently, she was cooking in an oven they had put together. It had certainly been a process to do so but once it was up, she used it nonstop making it worth all the effort. Liliam was also in no need of space or variety in plants either. By now, she had an endless number of them and enough space to fill a whole stadium.
Nordan had even managed to create some wildlife in his little world, mostly to accompany Liliam. Of course, none of the creatures he created could harm her in any way.
Mostly, he just made stuff like slimes and those rolly polly bugs. He thought they were pretty cute.
Nordan chuckled as he watched Liliam stuff a cookie into a slime. He had created a substitute for eggs with plants to allow this creation to happen. It was amazing how he had complete and total control of everything.
Once Liliam was done harassing her slime, she jumped up on her bed which was now fully decked out. Nordan had taught her how to make a real one to the best of his ability and the end result was satisfying.
¡°I¡¯m tired, Sav¡ I think it''s time for sleep¡ can you share one of those stories with me? Hmm, what about one of those love stories?¡± she giggled.
Nordan had gotten into the habit of sharing some of his own stories with Liliam. This had allowed him to explain some of his old culture and world in ways that were digestible. At first, it was a bit harder as she constantly asked questions but now, she mostly knew everything there was to know. They simply have been talking for that long.
¡°Yeah, yeah okay. Why? Ya in love with me?¡± he joked.
Liliam frowned yet didn¡¯t answer. ¡°You¡¯re an idiot!¡±
Nordan laughed and continued on to read her story.
As Liliam fell asleep to Nordan¡¯s words, he felt himself frown. He was well aware that hearing was experiencing. He wanted Liliam to experience his world like he did. To see everything that she could do and be.
He didn¡¯t even remember the last time he checked his status, just that it had been a long time. Technically, he would see an estimate of how long it had been depending on the amount of astral energy he had. Yet, he was kind of afraid.
He took a look around at the small world he had built. This couldn¡¯t have all been done in a few days or even weeks. At this point, it may have been years since he last paid attention to his levels or anything about the system.
Right before he opened his system, he wondered to himself. What if he just stayed like this? Technically, he had all the ability to create a whole new earth by himself. He could create energy, matter, life, and different materials. Wasn¡¯t that what Earth was? What was his old world made up of?
Yet, he couldn¡¯t help but feel excited at the prospect of becoming more. He could save so many lives by becoming stronger and more powerful. So, he decided to pull up his status.

He sighed in relief as he saw the number 60,000. Perhaps, it really hadn¡¯t been that long. He took a quick look at his world and then back at the number. Something was definitely not right there.
He stared at it for a moment before groaning loudly. It was 60,000 astral essences¡ essences not energy. He had over sixty times the amount of astral essence he needed to level up! In fact, he was getting close to the level after his own!
After some quick calculation, Nordan figured that it had been over two years since he had looked at his system. It may have been longer with how much he was spending all the time! It had really been that long¡
He sighed and decided to simply level up. He could only do more good with whatever it was he would receive.

Tier Upgrade: Simple God
Tier Ability: Gained The Ability To Maintain A Physical Form
Tier Ability: Gained The Ability To Infuse Astral Energy Into Objects
Tier Ability: Gained The Ability To Die
A huge chunk of information instantly appeared in front of Nordan as he attempted to process what the hell he had just done. This was way more than he had been expecting, not to mention the whole ability to die part!
He quickly brought up this supposed Godly System and took a look at it.
- The Godly System: 0 levels
- Cost: 100 Astral Essence Per Level
He wasn¡¯t sure what he was even supposed to do with this supposed godly system. Didn¡¯t he already have his own system using astral energy? Why did he need another one? He took a look at his other upgrades. Apparently, he was now a simple god rather than a simple being. How did that make any sense? He could die now!
He also gained the ability to infuse astral energy into stuff, whatever that meant. He wasn¡¯t sure how that was useful in any way!
What caught his attention the most was the ability to maintain a physical form. Of everything that just happened, that was the one that made him the most happy. If this was implying what he thought it was, he would be able to actually talk to and be with Liliam. Perhaps, this upgrade was worth it after all.
Suddenly, his small world started shaking rapidly causing Liliam to roll out of her bed.
¡°What the hell? Sav!¡± she cried.
One of the now stone sides of the world blew open causing debris to fly everywhere.
¡°What the¡¡± Liliam cried as she hid behind her bed.
Nordan watched in shock as a being that was completely black walked into his world. It was clearly a humanoid with dark red eyes and pitch-black horns. Those were the only details Nordan could perceive as he watched the creature continue to move forward.
¡°Aw, what a lovely little world! It seems it was just created! I cannot wait to feast!¡± the being cried happily.
Liliam froze as she saw the creature get closer. She tried backing away but found she had nowhere to go. She readied herself and ran out.
¡°This is my home! Go away!¡± she cried.
The creature let out a disturbing laugh as its face morphed into a smile. ¡°Are you the god of this world? A pathetic creature I must say,¡±
¡°I have no clue what you¡¯re talking about but¡ I live here and I will protect it!¡± she screamed.
The creature just shook his head and pointed his finger to one of the walls in the distance. Suddenly, the entire thing exploded into bits and pieces causing Liliam to jump back in fear.
¡°Do you really believe you can protect this place?¡± he asked as he blew up another wall.
Liliam fell to the floor in fear as she tried to crawl backward.
¡°Where do you think you¡¯re going, my dear? We¡¯re not done yet¡¡± The creature walked forward and grabbed Liliam.
Nordan¡¯s eyes filled with rage as suddenly he instinctively knew what he did. His form appeared from behind the creature as he cracked his knuckles. He knew he looked exactly like how he did back on earth yet, he knew he was a completely different person.
¡°Let go of me!¡± Liliam cried as she tried to break the creature¡¯s grip. Unfortunately, her strength couldn¡¯t compare to his.
Yet, her struggle stopped when she saw Nordan and looked at him wide-eyed. ¡°Sav?¡±
The creature¡¯s arm morphed into a blade and suddenly stabbed her in the stomach mercilessly.
¡°No!¡± Nordan screamed. He watched as the creature turned around in surprise, and Liliam slid off his blade.
¡°I¡¯ll kill you!¡± Nordan¡¯s eyes were a blaze of fury. A rage he never knew had overtook him as all his new abilities suddenly made sense.
The creature smirked, ¡°So, you¡¯re the god, huh? Maybe, this will be fun after all.¡±
The creature rushed at a speed impossible to humans. Yet, Nordan still moved faster. His astral energy-infused legs allowed him to dodge the creature¡¯s blade and get to his side.
He infused his right fist with as much astral energy as he could and whipped it into the creature''s face. The creature flew backward and crashed into the already broken wall.
Yet, Nordan wasn¡¯t done yet. He infused his legs with energy and rocketed toward the creature, pounding yet another fist into him.
The creature gagged as it tried everything it could to get back up. Nordan wouldn¡¯t let it.
He started a flurry of punches recklessly spending his astral energy but it didn¡¯t matter to him. He had plenty.
Finally, after minutes beating the creature down for minutes, he relented only because his body physically couldn¡¯t move anymore.
¡°How!¡± the creature croaked as Nordan broke through its defenses mercilessly.
¡°How do you have so much? Your world just evolved didn¡¯t it?¡± it struggled to even move.
Nordan didn¡¯t bother responding as he started floating upward. He summoned tens of small energy sources. Basically, it''s a arsenal of mini suns.
He infused them all with as much astral energy as he could. This time, he physically felt the energy draining from his body. He was using that much.
The creature looked terrified but couldn¡¯t move. All he could do was watch as the suns became brighter, hotter, and more terrifying.
¡°Don¡¯t! I can give you anything! I belong to a special race that can¡ The Vicnuses!¡± yet he stopped as Nordan glared at him.
¡°Die,¡± was all Nordan said before he sent the suns rocketing toward the creature.
A massive explosion shook the entire world as everything crumbled to dust. This world was dead.
Still, Nordan rushed toward where he last saw Liliam. He searched around until he found her, curled up in pain.
¡°Liliam!¡± He flew toward her and grabbed her body.
¡°It really is you... Sav,¡± she whispered, too weak to talk normally.
¡°Hang on, I¡¯ll get a plant to heal you!¡± He summoned one of those plants as quickly as he could and let it drip on her.
Yet, it wasn¡¯t fast enough. It wasn¡¯t working. He summoned another and another and another but no matter how many he created it wasn¡¯t working. Yet, he knew why they didn¡¯t work. They only sped up the body¡¯s healing process. They didn¡¯t heal fatal wounds.
¡°No!¡± he choked out as tears began running down his face.
¡°Stop it, silly,¡± Liliam weakly smirked.
¡°No! I can do it¡ I¡¯ll save you like I did every other time! I¡¯m not losing you. I refuse!¡± Nordan cried.
Liliam gently caressed Nordan¡¯s cheeks with her hands as she looked up at him, growing weaker by the second. ¡°I¡¯m so glad¡ I get to finally see you¡ and touch you¡¡±
¡°Liliam¡¡± he said, tears running down his face.
¡°I remember you saying something about loving you¡ I think¡ I do¡¡± she muttered.
Nordan shook his head as he recalled his joke only hours earlier. All he could manage to say in between the tears was, ¡°Me, too,¡±
¡°I¡¯m not sure if this is right but¡¡± Liliam used the last of her strength to pull herself up slightly and pressed her lips against Nordan¡¯s
They passionately kissed for a moment before Liliam muttered, ¡°I love you, Sav,¡±
Her body proceeded to go limp in his hands, as she closed her eyes for the last time. She was gone.
Chapter 7: Desolate
Jeb glanced at the rock-solid wall before him. He had enjoyed coming to see it every now and then. It was a sort of relaxing sight for him.
The wall towered so high it seemed to reach the sky. In the distance, he could see a large cluster of orange balls that made everything bright enough to see.
All around him were plants of various natures. Some had orbs while others created edible fruit. He wasn¡¯t exactly sure how they worked or how they got there, just that they did. It didn¡¯t matter much to him anyway. As long as he was able to eat, he was satisfied.
Jeb yawned and stood up from the position he had been sitting in. It would take him a while to get back and he wanted to make sure that he ate with his family. If he was late then they would probably just do so without him.
He trudged along a dirt road that had been cleared by a group of other humans. Jeb wasn¡¯t sure what group had done it but he had been sure to avoid them. Other humans were typically scary and not exactly friendly.
While he walked, he decided to bring up his system. Nobody was really sure what the system was, just that it gave people tremendous power.
Jeb
Tier: Basic Human
Level: 1
Astral Energy: 0/1
Stats:
Jeb didn¡¯t have any of that of course. Doing so required people to kill various creatures that roamed around. Apparently, it only took one for your very first level up but even that was too much for Jeb. The creatures would range from small furry things to large four-legged creatures but even that was too much for Jeb.
He was much too weak to even think about fighting something like that. Besides, he had his father to protect him. Apparently, his father had made it to level five which gave him a special ability. Considering there were not many people that high, Jeb was proud to be the son of his father.
Jeb trudged on back to his small home. He couldn¡¯t wait to tell his sister about the wall again. She would always ask because his parents never let her go herself, Apparently, she was too young.
Eventually, Jeb saw his home in the distance. It was a little cottage, made out of various trees that were in the surrounding area. Jeb¡¯s parents made sure to replant the trees in hopes of one day having a bigger home.
As he got closer, he noticed that the door to his home was open. This was odd considering that his parents always made a ruckus about closing it when he left. A tad of worry overcame him as he thought about this.
He walked a little quicker as he neared the door. It was quiet.
He walked inside and into the main living room. Everything was torn apart. Their makeshift couch was torn to shreds. Their family games were thrown around everywhere.
Jeb¡¯s heart was caught in his throat as he slowly investigated what had happened. He stepped around the di that were thrown everywhere and slowly made his way to the door to his kitchen. It was slightly creaked open.
He pushed it all the way and nearly choked when he saw the image of his mother on the floor.
¡°Mom!¡± He cried as he ran over to her.
She was lying face down in a pool of blood. He quickly pushed her over and gasped in horror.
Not only was she stone cold, there was a massive hole in her chest. She was dead.
¡°No!¡± he shouted as tears started streaming down his face.
He started to sob as he fell to his knees and held his mother. He imagined her blonde hair flowing wildly in the wind as she scolded him and his sister for playing too roughly. He imagined her serving his father dinner as he returned from a hunt.
The thought of his father and sister immediately crossed his mind. He quickly got up and cried out, ¡°Dad! Anna!¡±
He ran out of the kitchen and into the hall of bedrooms in his house. There were three rooms in the hall, one for his room with Anna, a bathroom, and his parents'' room.
He slowly checked his room. There was nobody in there.
Next, he went to the bathroom and checked there. Again, there was nobody.
Finally, he slowly crept up into his parent¡¯s bedroom and opened the door.
There lay his sister and father¡ except his father¡¯s head was nowhere to be found. He stumbled backward as he vomited all over the ground. He couldn¡¯t take this. Why had this happened?Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
His father was strong. He was supposed to be able to protect them. Why was he dead? Why was his entire family dead? What had happened? He hadn¡¯t been gone that long.
He slowly built up his courage and went back into his parent¡¯s bedroom. He nearly vomited again but gulped it back down.
The entire room was covered in blood and he knew it wasn¡¯t just his fathers. He walked over to his younger sister and scrunched his face in grief.
Her body was completely mangled and disfigured. There were marks all over her body. Jeb couldn¡¯t help but wonder if she had been tortured before she had been mercilessly killed.
He fell to the floor as his body started to fail on him. Why? Why did he deserve this? Why hadn¡¯t he been killed with them? He didn¡¯t want to live in a world like this.
He started screaming and rolling around on the floor. He flung his fists into the walls and wood floors until they were raw and bleeding. He convulsed, he moaned, he cried, he screamed. However, he knew that nothing was bringing them back.
He crawled out of his house and gasped at the fresh air outside. He paused for a moment before screaming out once again. ¡°I¡¯m going to kill you! Whoever did this, I¡¯m going to fucking kill you! You¡¯re not safe anywhere you hear me! You¡¯re dead!¡±
He took a few deep breaths and tried to scream again but his voice went out. He slowly pulled himself off the ground with a dangerous look in his eyes.
He started walking in a random direction. He wasn¡¯t sure if the killer would be there but he didn¡¯t care.
He could still recall his sister¡¯s lovely voice just earlier when she asked him where he was going¡
¡°Jeb! I thought we were gonna play that di game you said you would show me!¡± she exclaimed.
¡°We are Anna, don¡¯t worry. I¡¯m just going to go for a walk first, I really wanna visit my spot.¡± He ruffled her hair.
Anna pouted as she said, ¡°Aw, you¡¯re going to the wall again, aren¡¯t you? I wanna come!¡±
Jeb laughed, ¡°Soon, Anna. Mom said you can come once you turn eighteen.¡±
Anna pouted but ultimately accepted his response. ¡°Well, I¡¯ll be waiting then¡¡±
Jeb felt hot tears run down his eyes as he realized that he never got to show her that game¡ and he never would.
Jeb continued to walk for hours. He continued to walk even as he became hungry and thirsty. He didn¡¯t care.
After hours of walking, Jeb was becoming delirious. He was parched and nearly unable to continue on. Yet, he still didn¡¯t care. He was determined to avenge his family in his own warped way of thinking.
Suddenly, a snarl sounded out from behind him and he flung himself around to face whatever it was.
In front of him was a four-legged creature that Jeb¡¯s family had deemed a wolf. They weren¡¯t sure why they came up with that name but it seemed to stick.
The wolf growled at Jeb as he raised his fists. How dare that creature threaten him after everything he had just been through!
Jeb sprinted toward the creature and threw a punch at it. It simply jumped back as if toying with him and howled.
After a plethora of more scurrying noises, four more wolves appeared around Jeb. Jeb growled himself as he prepared for a fight he wasn¡¯t going to win.
¡°Come at me you cowards!¡± he screamed.
The wolves seemed to snicker at him as they moved to surround him. Suddenly, one of them pounced on him. Jeb threw himself to the ground and grappled the wolf.
He started slamming his fists into it, one after another. The wolf was yelping in pain but Jeb didn¡¯t care. He continued to pound his fists into the wolf.
Another wolf jumped on his leg and started chewing on it. The pain was immense, more than he had ever felt before. Yet, he didn¡¯t care. He continued to pound the wolf.
Another wolf jumped on him and bit his left arm. It tried to pull him off the wolf he was beating but it wasn¡¯t strong enough.
With one arm, Jeb continued to beat down the wolf mercilessly. The killer hadn¡¯t been merciful to his parents so why should he be to this wolf?
Yet, another wolf jumped on his other leg and finally, they pulled him off their wolf companion. Unfortunately for them, it had been too late.
1 Astral Energy Gained!
Level Up!
1 Stat Point Gained!
Jeb smiled as he read the messages from the system. He had finally done it. He had leveled up.
One of the wolves growled as it walked up to him and prepared to rip his throat out. However, it took his time as it knew that Jeb was finished.
It looked like Jeb would be joining his family soon. He had tried his best to fend off the wolves but in the end, he knew he would fail. He couldn¡¯t possibly have held all of them off anyway.
Unfortunately, Jeb wasn¡¯t satisfied. He wanted to find his family¡¯s killer and he wanted to make them pay. He was angry that they would be able to get off after ruining his perfect life. Yet, his body refused to move and the wolf wasn¡¯t about to wait any longer.
Right before it pounced, the wolf froze and quickly turned in another direction. Suddenly, a bright flash took place, blinding Jeb. An immense number of cries filled the air as Jeb felt multiple impacts hit the ground around him.
The entire area heated up rapidly as Jed wondered if he was about to burn to death. Thunderous noises accompanied the explosions and he could barely make out the image of the dying wolves. They were scurrying around with yelps of fear and pain. After a moment, everything stopped.
¡°What the hell?¡± he muttered as he felt his consciousness slipping.
As the blinding light slowly cleared, he spent the last of his energy trying to find out what the hell that was. A pale man with blonde hair was walking toward him with a seemingly annoyed look on his face.
¡°What an asshole¡¡± Jed muttered right before going out.
Chapter 8: Abandonment
Nordan yawned as he crawled out of his bed. Darkness surrounded him, inwardly¡ and outwardly. He was in a cave after all.
He slipped on the sandals he had made from one of the sheep he had created and moved to light the candle that was next to his bed. The yellowish light permeated throughout the cave, allowing Nordan to once again see his surroundings. There wasn¡¯t much there.
There was a single table along with a chair in the room. On it, were a few tools and utensils he would use to eat or make tools.
There was one thing that stood out from all the rest. Also on the table was a painting of Liliam. Nordan had gone out of his way to gather as many colors as he could to paint it. Not only that but it had taken him a seemingly endless amount of time until he was satisfied with the painting. He seriously practiced for what seemed to be years to be able to paint something of that quality. However, he didn¡¯t mind. There was nothing else to do.
He had long given up on his dream of bringing Liliam back. He had spent countless years trying everything he could but nothing worked. As soon as she died, he immediately tried to recreate her with an image of her past self in his mind. However, all that appeared was a wretched version of her that was clearly not friendly. That version had attacked him as soon as she saw him. He was forced to put her down.
After trying to imagine a peaceful version of her multiple times, he eventually gave up on that idea and decided to create his own civilization. Perhaps, the problem lay in the fact that his world was barren. So, he rapidly expanded his landmass and leveling system. He also added 118 elements, the same amount that had existed in his old world. It wasn¡¯t hard since he already had all the astral energy he needed.
Yet, the new world he had created failed. Everyone seemed to be a bloodthirsty killer, only out for themselves. The system didn¡¯t seem to promote any positivity as people would level up and immediately kill each other. It didn¡¯t help that people always gave the most astral energy as well.
The creatures he had created for the people to grind only ever gave one astral energy each. However, people gave the total amount of energy they had earned over time. This made humans the prime target of one another.
A spark of hope had appeared for Nordan when he found the first child. It seemed that the humans had learned to repopulate. That hope didn¡¯t last for long as he soon realized that those children would just grow up to also be merciless killers. That was if they grew up at all.
Eventually, Nordan simply gave up. He had been trying for so long yet nothing he did worked. It all meant nothing.
So, he buried himself in a cave on the edge of the world and entertained himself with various trinkets. He had considered killing himself but then realized that he had no idea how to. Sure, if some outside being invaded him then it was simple but none of his attacks harmed him. He was quite literally invincible without the presence of an invader which he hadn¡¯t seen since the time with Liliam. If those pieces of shit were so rare then why did they have to come then?
He knew that pondering on such things was useless but he couldn¡¯t help it. He was angry that she was taken from him. He was angry that this stupid system had caused him so much pain. It wasn¡¯t supposed to be like this. This new life was supposed to be special. He was supposed to make a family.
Yet, it was all gone now. He had no motivation to keep trying. What was the point? Everything he did failed and it was only a matter of time until some powerhouse invaded his world and killed him. Might as well accept that fate.
In a desperate attempt for entertainment, he opened up his status. He couldn¡¯t even remember the last time he checked it.

- The Godly System: 15 levels
- Cost: 100 Astral Essence Per Level
- Astral Rate: -2^(l)-1 Astral Energy/second
*(Each level Nordan achieves means that he loses 2^(l)-1 Astral energy per second to maintain the system).
He had currently capped the level limit at fifteen since each level up came with such a high cost; however, it wasn¡¯t like anyone actually got there. The highest person so far was level nine, just shy of their second ability. He was able to make it so every five levels, humans would gain a new random ability that could be activated based on a cooldown. By then, the amount of astral energy their bodies had could maintain an attack like that.Stolen novel; please report.
Usually, most people died out before they could get very high but this last person was proving to be a true terror. They wiped out hundreds of humans in order to level up. Nordan knew that he probably should have done something to stop it but he just didn¡¯t have the willpower anymore. Besides, even if he did help, the people of this world would probably just immediately attack him to steal his astral energy.
His astral essence amount was also off the charts. He hadn¡¯t realized that he had gotten so much but then again, he had really just stopped caring. It really made him wonder just how much time he had spent sulking around.
Still, he didn¡¯t really care. Without Liliam, he felt as if he had no purpose. He continued to feel bad for himself as he fell back into his bed. Since he was a god, he didn¡¯t need to eat or anything so he ended up spending much of his time inside of his cave.
Suddenly, a loud ruckus started up outside. A large amount of yelping was taking place outside of his cave. At first, he figured he would just wait it out but soon his patience got the best of him.
He groaned as he dragged himself out of his cave and nearly hissed as the light from his energy sources pierced his eyes. After a moment of adjustment, he squinted at the sight in front of him.
There was a large pack of wolves attacking a young man, maybe in his late teens. The man was clearly losing; however, he refused to give up and continued to punch the one wolf he was hanging on to over and over again.
After a few more moments, Nordan could tell that the fight was over. The man was barely breathing and the wolves were essentially biting every part of his body. Yet, he couldn¡¯t help but notice that the man seemed upset¡ like he wasn¡¯t satisfied with something. Usually, all the humans Nordan had seen killed were either fearful or had a sort of primitive rage about them. This man was different¡ and that piqued Nordan¡¯s curiosity
It took little effort to summon a small sun and obliterate the wolves. They died quickly and without much resistance. They couldn¡¯t really level up so it made them exceptionally easy prey. Nordan couldn¡¯t help but frown at their weakness. He knew there must have been a way to get these types of creatures to level up but he hadn¡¯t ever been feeling up to it. Now, he was ever so slightly regretting that.
The man glared at Nordan right before passing out from blood loss. Nordan quickly summoned a few of those healing plants he had created long ago and saved the man. Unlike Liliam, he wasn¡¯t too far gone yet.
Nordan picked the man up and took him to his cave to rest. He knew that this was a bad idea but he didn¡¯t really care. His life had been exceptionally boring recently and he needed something to spice it up. Besides, he doubted that the man could even lay a finger on him, let alone kill him. In fact, he knew he couldn''t. He was a god.
Nordan laid the man on his bed and sat in a chair next to him until he woke up. Time was basically meaningless to him so he wasn¡¯t really sure if the man took minutes to come to or hours.
When he did, the glare from before immediately came across his face.
¡°You! You¡¯re the one who killed them aren¡¯t you!¡± he screamed.
Nordan frowned as he dodged an incoming punch from the man. This man¡ he cared about people. That was¡ unexpected.
¡°You¡ cared for others?¡± Nordan quickly asked, desperate to satisfy his curiosity.
The man looked at him with rage, ¡°Stop playing dumb! You did it right? You killed my family! I¡¯ll never forgive you¡± he screamed as he tried to ram into Nordan.
Nordan stopped him with one hand rather easily. ¡°A¡ family¡¡±
The man struggled against Nordan relentlessly, despite the massive difference in strength.
¡°Why! Why did you kill them? Why! They did nothing to you!¡± the man screamed.
After a brief moment of contemplation, Nordan sighed, ¡°I did nothing of the sort.¡±
The man hesitated as soon as Nordan said that. ¡°You¡¯re¡ you¡¯re lying.¡±
¡°Why would I lie? I am stronger than you in every way. You are no threat to me. Lying to you would gain me nothing,¡± Nordan reasoned.
The man stepped back at his logic causing Nordan to get even more excited. This person actually seemed capable of reason. This was unlike anything he had seen since¡ Liliam.
¡°I¡ I are you sure?¡± he asked.
Nordan nearly chuckled. ¡°Yes, I am positive that I didn¡¯t happen to go out and slaughter a family today.¡±
¡°I¡ I apologize then¡ I had never assumed that there would be other people around here¡ I must be going then. I have to find the killer.¡± The man clenched his fists and turned to leave.
Nordan was not going to just let this man go. This was the first time he had ever seen a reasonable being let alone signs of a family in his world. If he let this man go then he would likely die. Nordan wouldn¡¯t let that happen.
¡°You will just be killed too you know,¡± Nordan said.
The man turned to him angrily. ¡°So? What else am I to do? Let the killer roam free while my father, mother, and sister lie dead in our old home. I have nothing else to go back to! I have nothing else! Understand? I don¡¯t care if I die! I don¡¯t!¡± the man snarled.
Yet, Nordan shook his head. ¡°You misunderstand¡ I too would like to see such evil vanquished as well¡ however, just running at them and dying is pointless. You don¡¯t stand a chance. Instead, I would suggest you level up some and then attempt to fight such a foe. Then, you may be able to actually avenge your family.¡±
The man¡¯s eyes sparkled with clarity as he comprehended Nordan¡¯s words. ¡°Do you¡ really think I could kill someone like that? My father¡ he was strong. He even had his own special ability! How could I possibly stand a chance?¡±
His father''s ability came as a surprise to Nordan. There were not many people who could stand against someone like that. In fact, there was only one he knew of and that was because of how many people they had killed. If Nordan was right then this kid may not stand a chance after all¡ but he wasn¡¯t about to tell him that. Instead, he would do something to ensure this guy made it out alive and well. He would finally take action.
¡°Hmph¡ I¡¯ll train you. I¡¯ll teach you the ways of the system and once I am satisfied with your progress, I will send you off to find your killer,¡± Nordan said.
The man eye¡¯s went wide as he understood what Nordan had just offered. It didn¡¯t take him too long to nod his head yes.
