《The Fragments of Corruption》 Chapter 1 - Soul Shatter Today was the day the town of Lika was going to celebrate the foundation of the town... what they didn''t know was when they least expected the enemy kingdom, Rolk, would attack their village. Iko, a farmer that was caught in the fire, she knew how to fight, she had fight all the wolfs and other animals that tried to eat the crops but humans were another thing, they were all armored with armor that was nigh impenetrable with their weak weapons, Iko grabbed a sword from a fallen adventurer, she knew the guy, but it wasn''t time to lament, they were surrounded and if Folkur wanted they all would be dead by now, so Iko wondered. why doesn''t he don''t kill us all and be done with it? what''s his objective? that question clouded Iko mind before suddenly she was thrown to the ground by an enemy soldier she was fighting, she knew how to fight, just that she wasn''t strong enough to be actually able to do anything against them. The soldier that throwed her to the floor started speaking "hey girl, you are actually kind of cute now that I see you well~ what do you think of joining Rolk as the general¡¯s concubine? After I have some fun with you of course" Iko was furious, was this man being real about that? did he think that she would just let him do whatever he wants with her body? she spat at him, that was the only thing she could do since this soldier was apparently blessed by the [System], a mysterious force that appeared in Ruk hundreds of years ago, capable of turning a no one into one of the strongest men in less years that would take a genius learn how to use a sword properly. "YOU BITCH!" screamed the soldier before cutting her arm of and stab his sword in her stomach, Iko screamed, screamed like she never done before, she was hurt before, yes the first time she has lost an arm or being stabbed, but it shouldn''t hurt that much, "it hurts right? the [System] gave me the ability to make you feel more pain than you will normally feel, you little bitch! you will regret rejecting my offer!" suddenly the soldier body fall, he''s head landing next to Iko''s arm and next to the beheaded soldier was a man she knew well, everybody in the kingdom, being a commoner or a noble knew about him, the third strongest soldier of Rolk, Folkur, she froze, the pain being numbed by her fear of being in front of such monster of a man. "Hmm, a farmer huh, to think that bastard of a soldier thought of making you my concubine... ridiculous, you sure are a nice specimen, I could sell you for quite the money in the black market" Iko was frozen, she didn''t even processed the words in her mind, she couldn''t not when she was fighting to breath under such an intimidating aura. "Well sadly for you, if that soldier didn''t cut your arm and stabbed you I would have taken you to Rolk and then sell you, you look obedient, but your price can''t be higher than a few silvers right now, not worth the trouble, so sadly you have to die" this time his words did enter Iko''s mind before she rolled to the side dodging the man sword, how did she did it, she has no idea but it helped her since Folkur was surprised she could dodge his attack, she got up and started running through the buildings looking for a place to hide, she didn''t even bother trying to find someone to help her, they were all dead and the few alive were in the middle of a battle or hiding, she may be about to die but she didn''t want to bring anyone with her. While she was running, her waist long white hair moving with the wind, she suddenly couldn''t feel her legs anymore and fallen to the ground when she turned she noticed her legs were cut off and in the distance Folkur was in a cutting stance, demonstrating that it was him who cut her legs dozens of meters away, he started walking towards Iko, she started to crawl with one arm the furthest she could, but not even 3 seconds later Folkur was already in front of her with his sword up in the air, ready to cut her down. "goodbye, you were a pest" while his sword was falling on top of her there were only thoughts of hate and revenge in her mind, why? was the main question in her mind, what did we do to be targeted by them? we never entered any war, we don''t have any important resource either, we are just some lonely town in the middle of nowhere, we didn''t do anything, so why? while those thoughts clouded her mind she heard Folkur said something in a whisper that she somehow heard "soul shatter" then the pain that came with the cut was enough to make her pass out or it was supposed to make her pass out, she was awake through the whole prosses of her soul breaking, the soul was supposed to be untouchable, divine, messing with it being your own or other was an immediate death sentence by the gods, so why, WHY, was the man in front of her just fine after cutting through her soul, the cut didn''t even scar her body but her mind and soul was breaking apart, the pain worse than anything she had ever experienced, even worst that when the soldier cut her arm or her legs were cut off.This book was originally published on Royal Road. Iko shouted between screams of pure pain and sorrow, her eyes filled with hate that if stares could kill Folkur would be probably dead already, "WHY US?! WHAT DID WE DO?!" she asked, desperate, and holding the urge to just fall unconscious, she couldn¡¯t; to know the truth she couldn''t fall unconscious just yet, not until he talked. "you are still able to talk even when your soul is being destroyed... I guess you do have something special" he said with surprise written in all his face, "you will die either way so I guess I could tell you..." Iko was surprised he would tell her so easy, but he was right, it''s not like she would survive having her soul fractured. Iko started losing conscious before hearing him say "it''s just my liege orders I follow, I don''t ask questions, so I don''t really know, but I did hear him say that he was bored and wanted some chaos and blood to spread." The town was filled with a sense of dread but that specific corner of the town was full of an energy no one has ever felt before, because people with the ability to survive with their soul covered with any strong emotion are near to zero, and no one had ever shown this amount of hate, in their life, it wasn''t a strong aura but surprising enough for Folkur to jump a few steps back in succession, just for the aura to disappear just as soon as it came. "I guess with a broken soul the hate dispersed withing her body as well from the hole connecting them... that''s and interesting discovery! I should tell my liege!" was all that left Folkur mouth after destroying someone soul, getting rid of any probability for them to reincarnate or be revived, not that anyone would want to revive a poor farmer, but better be safe than sorry. Folkur suddenly tensed up, an intimidating aura was coming near the town and by the sounds of metal he could tell the Empire of Kalk (the place Iko lived in) noticed his presence, he shouted to all his soldiers that they need to leave right now or all of them will be dead, in a hurry the Kingdom of Rolk was able to escape the Empire of Kalk with only a few losses (all the made by Folkur) and that''s how after everybody left the town. A man with a white coat, brown hair and glasses, not looking older that 40 made his way through the town, no one, not even him knowing what his looking for, only his god patron would know, but when his eyes land on a certain corpse, he smiles, "I found you" before grabbing Iko''s corpse and leaving.
Pain, hate, vengeance, this emotions clouded Iko¡¯s mind, but not only her mind, her soul was being infected by this emotions too, at the verge of falling apart her hate surrounded her soul making so it doesn¡¯t fall apart anymore but even that is futile when she is still unconscious and in so much pain she doesn¡¯t even notice the fragments of her soul that keep escaping her encase of hate, she felt something, she can¡¯t describe it but it feels gruesome, almost wrong that it was allowed to exist at all, and that something started to invade her soul. Iko panicked, first her soul is fractured, and the gods do nothing and now something is trying to invade her soul? What kind of shitty luck is that? She tried everything to keep that thing away, she didn¡¯t do nothing worth of mentioning, she even helped it enter at some point by accident, safe to say it didn¡¯t work out for her, the thing in her soul felt wrong but for some reason it felt more warm that wrong on her soul, what was happening to her? Suddenly the pain she was feeling changed into a warm embrace but that felt strange, why would something that shouldn¡¯t even have the right to exist felt so warm? She opened her eyes, which couldn¡¯t be possible since she is sure her soul, well what¡¯s left, already disconnected from her body, she was surprised to be able to feel anything at all, what she saw after opening her eyes wasn¡¯t what she was expecting if she was expecting anything at all, a laboratory probably, she was inside a tube with cables connected to her body, she can see that some of them were extracting some liquid from her and some were injecting her with something, she noticed it was the same gruesome thing she felt before, but when it entered her body it felt warm¡­ wait, my body? Didn¡¯t my body got stabbed and loose 1 arm and both legs? Why do I have them back? ¡°Ah your awake!¡± said a voice, Iko couldn¡¯t move much of her body but she was able to see the guy down below the tube, he had a white coat and glasses, he looked in his 40, Iko didn¡¯t remember him, was he who saved her? ¡°I bet your surprised right now, after all you got your limbs back! There isn¡¯t even a scar in there! Well nice to meet you, your name is¡­¡± he looked over to a panel next to him ¡°Iko right? Farmer of the town if Lika, there isn¡¯t any other information about you, after all, anyone who knew you died, we can¡¯t exactly ask the dead about things¡± he clapped his hands smiling ¡°I guess you want to know what happened to you? Right? Well let me tell you¡­ first we did¡­ connected¡­ Ancient blood¡­ tube¡­ and now we are here!¡± Iko didn¡¯t understand a single thing he said, tubes, ancient blood? What kind of bullshit is that? And this place¡­ it looks suspicious, the people are moving in strange way and some equipment were glitching in and out of existence. ¡°¡­¡± the man stayed quiet, ¡°I guess you noticed right?¡± he then started to¡­ laugh? ¡°HAHAHAHAH!!! THIS IS FUNNY! REAL FUNNY!¡± the laboratory suddenly started glitching and the next second Iko wasn¡¯t in a tube and neither a laboratory she was in a glass cell with the man outside still laughing. ¡°So that thing is starting now¡­ you 3 get up¡± suddenly 3 mounds of metal started moving and assembling themselves, they were¡­ what were they? They didn¡¯t have a form, they are constantly changing and her mind started hurting just to see them, then the warm feeling started to become colder and gruesome, and the pain started again, she felt pain in her head, back, arms and eyes. And the man just said 8 words. ¡°Let¡¯s see how you survive the ancient blood.¡± Chapter 2 - The voices ¡°let¡¯s see how you survive the ancient blood.¡± Was what Iko heard as the beasts of metal started to get near her, she didn¡¯t even pay them attention either way, not when she felt her body and soul were about to explode from the gruesome substance that was entering to her body through the cables in her body, she tried to break them but they wouldn¡¯t budge when hitting them, she noticed one of the beast trying to bite her with¡­ it¡¯s mouth? Iko, scared, decided to use the cable to hit the beast, and for her surprise, it didn¡¯t work, the cable broke and started covering the beast, who now was starting to get a form, and her mind didn¡¯t hurt when watching it anymore. She didn¡¯t wait for that thing get over that as she did the same with the other cables, the one¡¯s extracting what she guessed was her blood and the ones injecting her with the black ichor, who by the words of the strange man, she guessed it was that supposed ¡°ancient blood¡± her body still hurt but it didn¡¯t increase, happy with that she turned to the beasts, who were all washed with her and the ancient blood, now the 3 with what is the nearest thing they would get of a form, the left one looked like a tiger of some sort, she could only guess that by how it¡¯s body moved, the center one was kind of a bird? It didn¡¯t have wings, so she wasn¡¯t so sure, the right one looked like a snake, a big snake, but without a head. Iko, who now could move her body more freely than before, but still hurting like hell, stayed still as the beasts looked like they lost their target, probably the black ichor covering whatever they used to find her. ¡°Infront of you, dumbasses!¡± screamed the man who looked a bit nervous now that Iko was seeing him, why was that? She dodged to the side just before the bird stabbed her with its beak, she dodged that but couldn¡¯t dodge the bite of the tiger as it bit her arm off, it hurt, it hurt more than when the soldier did it with it¡¯s pain increasing ability, it almost felt as when Folkur fractured her soul, wait, could it be? When she turned to the man, she saw him laughing ¡°it hurts right? Hehe, your dumb idea of covering them with ancient blood didn¡¯t weaken them and they become stronger and now they can hit your soul with your physical body too! I must thank you! I was trying this for a long time now.¡± Iko, who got distracted for a moment because of the man talking didn¡¯t see the snake go around her legs, making her fall she tried to push it away but even with both arms she couldn¡¯t wait, I have my arm back? Her thoughts were broken when the snake snapped her legs, who started to regenerate before her eyes but it still hurts as hell, she come to a theory, the ancient blood regenerated her body as incredible speeds and since she also had it in her soul¡­ that means her soul is also regenerating? She thought that maybe she will be able to defeat them if she run for long enough to regenerate her soul completely since she still felt a terrible headache and nauseas for being attacked by a souls shattering attack 3 times in her life, when normal people don¡¯t even receive 1 in their entire life. It didn¡¯t work, pain, again and again, apparently she is only regenerating what the ancient blood thought was her original soul as it wasn¡¯t regenerating what Folkur broke, and she was attacked by the tiger claws and teeth, the bird beak and claws and the snake whip-like tail, her soul and body destroying again and again just to regenerate, the problem was that even if her body could manage the pain by the repeating process her soul couldn¡¯t ever manage the pain, destroying and regenerating for what she felt were days now, after being captured by the snake she couldn¡¯t escape in enough time and was now captured in this process of destroying and regenerating. Do you want to stop the pain? She heard a voice, a distorted voice that felt like destroying her mind with just it¡¯s presence, and then another voice came, this one more gentle but more robotic than the last one. Do you wish to accept the [System]? It would be impossible to have a coherent thought while being destroyed and healed for the last month, yes a month, the bitch of the man put a counter on the ceiling as she was in the ground, she actually didn¡¯t know how much exactly after all the bird decided to not spare her face and decided to eat all of her face as it could, tongue, eyes, nose, every bit of her face was being devoured by the bird, so she couldn¡¯t see how much time has passed now. The voices spoke again at the same time. Say yes and I will help you. Say yes and you will unlock the [System] You have 10 minutes to decide. (both bold and cursive and the line means they talk at the same time) What does that mean? Though Iko, she had heard about the start-up of the system, but normally it doesn¡¯t ask you if you want or not and what is the other voice? Her line of thoughts is interrupted when the bird bites her brain for the third time making her lose consciousness for a moment before it starts regenerating, making her scream in pain when she recovers conscious, not knowing how many time has passed since the warning to choose, expect she do knows, for some reason, she has a timer in her mind and it said that she had 3 minutes left. Iko didn¡¯t know what to do, she wanted the system but what about the other voice? Was it really safe? She was scared if saying yes would accept both or only the one she wanted, she tried to move, but couldn¡¯t so this time when her eyes regenerated she bite the bird beak, making it jump back in pain, or whatever it feel since it was made of metal and the ancient blood, she then tried to move her arm, who broke itself of the force of the tiger destroying it with it¡¯s claws while it ravages her insides with its mouth, making her organs spill to the side when they weren¡¯t eaten, she then did a punch with her hand and tried punching the tiger off her, knowing the power of the blood she decided to move it over to her arm, which then exploded in the tiger face making it jump back.The narrative has been taken without permission. Iko screamed as her arm was destroyed by the blood to then regenerate again but in a different way this time, there were scales in her arm an her hand became a claw, trying to get a thought she used the claw in the snake, which it worked surprisingly well leaving a deep mark in it¡¯s body letting her go, she then made her decision and yelled ¡°YES!¡± Integreating the [System] by the user¡¯s request¡­ Good! I was getting bored of seeing you getting eaten all month! Words started to appear in front of her eyes, it said some simple words, but with heavy meaning. [System] integrated¡­ Please call on your status screen The other voice didn¡¯t talk this time, but she wasn¡¯t going to ask herself why since the metal beasts were coming closer. ¡°Status screen!¡± Name: Iko Race: Human Level: 01 Stats: Physical: 10 Mental: 15 Mystic: 18 Artifacts: None Skills: None Unique skills: None Is this the [system]? Thought Iko, it looked¡­ simpler that she thought it would be, she expected a more sophisticated thing, not just a panel with some numbers¡­ she dodged to the side as she clearly ran out of time to think about that, the metal beasts were coming at her just after the snake jumped at her, Iko, looking at her stats one more time, she remembered that usually first time [system] users had at least 1 skill, and that was identify, but why didn¡¯t she have it? It didn¡¯t make sense. Dodging one more time Iko decided to counterattack the bird, since she had a personal vendetta with it, since it spent a month munching on her head, she used her claw to cut at its neck, cutting it like butter, what are these claws made of?! Thought Iko, she was really just cutting metal like it¡¯s some kind of wheat, thought losing its head didn¡¯t help much since it just¡­ started levitating and attaching itself again. ¡°Bring it on losers! I¡¯ll take revenge for what you did to my body!¡± Then the voice spoke again Little Iko, let me play with that [System] of yours~
¡°Even after 3 months she is still fighting uh?¡± asked the man to no one in particular. Jaul was a scientist who had been searching his entire life the origin of that mysterious power, the one that should have never exist yet the world embraced it like a mother to its child, searching for years myths and legends about the only being who was able to wield it, that being it¡¯s origin and the owner of the ancient blood, he really didn¡¯t have a name for it yet he just called it like that since it was blood and ancient, but if it had a real name it will probably be, the origin of corruption. So Jaul, when he discovered the corruption he decided to try to master it, the power to bend reality itself, he was discovered by one of the gods, who was also interested in this power, who then became his patron god, giving him the metal beasts who were able to meld with everything, that apparently counting the corruption, so he went looking for any being able to survive being in contact with it, and what better than a shattered soul full of hate to take on the corruption? She grabbed the body, which was his only connection to the soul, and created a new body for her, or well not her but him, the real master of corruption¡­ The Dragon at the End of the World. His plan was to revive him by using this brat new body, one he could guess she hadn¡¯t noticed, or she would be panicking, not everyone would like to have various body parts of other beings on them, but¡­ Why?! Why isn¡¯t she dead?! Even if her body is full of ancient blood, she shouldn¡¯t be able to survive the attacks on her soul! Her soul should have disappeared already! It¡¯s like is she was regenerating her soul¡­ as he falls to realization, he noticed that Iko soul was also filled to the brim of ancient blood, regenerating what the ancient blood thought was the full state of her soul. Skill [Eye of the Soul] activated. With this skill he was able to see into one soul to understand them better, he used it before in the girl to make sure her soul was destroyed but got a backlash from the hate in her soul, now that he used it again he could see how the hate and corruption were fusing with each other making each other stronger, his eye started to drip blood, what the fuck?! Was all he could say at was he was seeing as he saw how she had been chosen by the [System] too, everyone with a system had a special mark in their soul, even if her soul was fragmented he could still see the mark of the [System] on it, but there was something else, something vile, but at the same time, it was was he had been looking for.
Iko suddenly felt the pain in her head, back and eyes return after disappearing a few days ago, just to see this text in her mind while dodging the beast¡¯s attacks. [System] being updated by a moderator¡­ Please wait while the [System] is updated¡­ ¡°What the fuck?! Is this a joke?¡± said Iko, not believing that after getting it will disactivate itself, she dodged an attack again and attacked with her claw at the tiger, breaking it¡¯s paw for the tenth time already, she was feeling tired already and didn¡¯t know how much she could hold out, she even tried destroying the cell but it didn¡¯t work, not even a scratch on the glass. After 10 minutes of hit and run with the beasts a pop-up notification appeared before her eyes. Congratulations! You are the first being to unlock a specialized [System]! You have unlocked the corrupted beast system! Analyzing the user body, blood and soul to create the best [Beast] to give you! Congratulations! Your race has updated to [corrupted dragon]! With the strange claw she started attacking back while they dashed at her, she tried to get a second claw by doing the same she did a while ago but it didn¡¯t work, it just gave her immense pain while it regenerated, she then decided to check on the new [System] she just got, she was curious since she had never heard of a specialized [System], so she really hoped it was going to help her out in this situation. ¡°Status!¡± Then words started to morph in her mind, shocking her because the [System] was giving her a second name. Name: Iko Noulan Age: ?19? Level: 01 Blood Tier: 1 Race: [Corrupted Dragon] System: [Beast System] Stats: Physical: 20 Mental: 20 Mystic: 30 Beast Bloodline: T 1 Blood: Corrupted Claw, Eye of The Dragon. Iko was struck with so much information that her headache started to worsen, and the fact that she felt 2 spikes coming out her head didn¡¯t help, she screamed as she grabbed her head with so much force that her claw started to pierce through her head, regenerating instantly but it still hurt. When the pain stopped, she noticed 2 things, first, she now had horns of around 2 lours each in her head, both with a strange purple energy being emitted from beneath the charcoal black exterior of the horns, the other thing she noticed was that none of the metallic beasts attacked her while she was suffering from the pain of the horns, they were also stepping back, almost as if they had meet their natural predator. Her eyes were next to hurt as she started to grab them, for it to just fall off her head like some misplaced pieces, she had gone blind until they regenerated but now she could see different, better, was the only word she could find, everything she saw looked a lot more complete, she checked her status again since the beasts were still shivering in fear, her first guess was that this, [Eye of The Dragon] is the responsible for her eyes while the [Corruption Sense] was the one that gave her the horns as she could now sense some energy inside the beasts. What is corruption either way? Blood tiers? It didn¡¯t make sense for Iko, but for another person it was even harder to understand what he was seeing. Jaul had lived for hundreds of years now, when someone elevated their level their were able to increase their lifespan in a considerable amount, and he, who was in the level 175, had never seen anything like that, the different bodies he used to create that body, all merged into one, the worst part, it wasn¡¯t him wo was using the body, no, it was that brat who was surviving the destruction and reconstruction of her soul with only hate alone. When he used [Eye of The Soul] he didn¡¯t see a shattered soul with immense hate, no, what he saw were the eyes of who he was searching for his whole life, The origin of corruption. [Jaul Lefon, In Search of the Source, Level 175] Iko froze as she looked at Jaul, Folkur, from she heard, was only at level 160, and yet this man was at level 175. ¡°You¡¯ll see, I had the idea of reviving the Source using you, but you aren¡¯t dying even when your soul is at the verge of dissipating, so¡± he clapped and a strange collar appeared in her neck, he tried to get it out but it wouldn¡¯t budge, when she tried to cut it she felt a pain so big she started crying and fall to the floor, her body paralyzed by the pain the collar sent her, ¡°This is a upgraded version of the slave collars over at the Rolk, the backlash of not following orders are stronger and if someone tried to get it off, you are forced to protect it, got it clear?¡± Iko just nodded after calming herself from the pain, which was something she definitely didn¡¯t want to feel again. ¡°Well now that you got it clear I will use you as my guinea pig for my experiments, now, Stand up.¡± Iko wanted to refuse but her body was forced by the collar to do so, he was guiding her through the laboratory, she saw plenty of glass containers with different kind of substances inside, he then came to a stop Infront of another glass cage like in the one she was before he got her out, ¡°Enter¡± he ordered, Iko body was forced to enter the inside of the cage and when she looked back he wasn¡¯t there anymore. As she was trapped she decided to look around, her new eyes helped her in investigating the place, she was about to hit the class with her claw to see what if it would last but just as the idea got into her mind she felt the collar pulling her to stay in her place and not try anything stupid. ¡°So that bastard got a new pet uh?¡± Iko heard a voice that came from outside her cage, it sounded childish but mature at the same time. She noticed to other cells Infront of her¡¯s, that voice came from the left one. ¡°it looks like it¡± said a much calmer voice, this one came from the right cell, as she tried to look at them she stared to feel tired before even getting a glimpse of them, after she got devoured and was fighting for 3 months she felt all her strength leaving her body and she fall unconscious. It was one of the best abilities she has gained since she got the system. [Rakikas, The king of the Jungle, Race: Sovereign Tiger, Level 150] Iko couldn¡¯t help but shiver at the status screen every time she saw it, even Jaul, who was higher level didn¡¯t have a red status screen, she assumed it was because of the it¡¯s title or race, who clearly gave a shivering feeling. ¡°Ugh, how did Jaul did to capture this thing either way? Its aura is so much stronger than his¡­¡± Iko couldn¡¯t help but feel humillidated, probably because she was now a dragon, some of the most pridefull races in the world, but now she felt scared because of a tiger, an animal who couldn¡¯t even say a single word, it was normal for her to feel humiliated by that, her pride was hurting. ¡°I need to be stronger to be able to even escape this place, and killing that tiger will be in the process, only like that I can restore by pride, but first, I got to wait for him to go away¡± Iko said as she started to drink blood from her syringe.

On the other side, Berg didn¡¯t notice the energy but he indeed notices the blood coming out of the door, black blood was leaking from the door slowly, and even thought he came to have a like to blood, he would rather die than drink this one. In the fake world created by her trapper, Rakikas was having her dinner, but suddenly in someplace far from the center of her jungle, she felt a diseased feeling, suddenly there was a crack, in the sky a tear in space was opened and a single rock fall from it in front of her, Rakikas felt a sense of wrongness coming from the rock so she identified it as it started raining black blood. [Fr46m3n/ 0f C0rrup/10n] Inside a scaled egg in the middle of the outer jungle, Iko was asleep inside covered in a black goo, with some strings connecting her to the walls of the egg, inside of there she was having a dream, or it could also be a nightmare¡­ Inside her mind Iko was full of pain for what felt like an eternity, after the pain calmed down a bit and she could think straight she started looking around her, there was nothingness but at the same time there were a lot of things, she didn¡¯t know how to explain it, it felt weird but it was somehow comforting¡­ as if she was back to her mother embrace¡­ and now that she remembers her mother, she asked herself When did I forget about my parents? I¡­ can¡¯t remember my life before the attack¡­ I was a farmer but¡­ what else? I can¡¯t even remember doing anything farmer like¡­ how did I even know how to fight? Then, it talked. ¡°You¡­ you did this to my jungle?¡± Before she could do anything, a huge claw was about to her in pieces, she was able to block it thanks to Corrupted touch on her wings, blocking it, she was unscathed but she couldn¡¯t say the same about the jungle, everything in a 50 meter radius disappeared, expect for her blood and the egg she hatched from, she noticed how Rakikas had a bit of corruption of it¡¯s tail, but it wasn¡¯t time for that, as Rakikas was confused as how she survived, she took off to the sky, far from where she was. Chapter 8 - The tower and Rainari ¡°She survived that. Being only level 15?... well, I guess you should be able to survive that to make this ugly blood rain in my jungle¡­¡± Rakikas was conflicted, she wanted to exterminate that pest but she was also curious what else she could do, and she also wanted to ask, what the fuck was in her tail, it hurt a lot and she hated it, he just wanted to kill her at first but then noticed that almost her whole body was covered in it, didn¡¯t it hurt a lot? She only had it in her tail and it already hurt like when she was fighting that middle-aged man a lot of time ago, she couldn¡¯t even remember when. ¡°Should I just kill her? Or should I interrogate her and then kill her? Is it this thing on my body?¡± Rakikas was surprised of how much blood the pest had, after all this was pretty much a lake, as she was turning around to start looking for her, black tendrils came out the lake of blood going straight for her, without much trouble she just cut it with her claw, but it regenerated and another one appeared, as it happened every time she killed one, so she started running away when the numbers got to more than a thousand, she was stronger but they only became more every time and she really didn¡¯t want to do with anything related to this ¡°corruption¡±. But she didn¡¯t leave before identifying them [Tentacles from the other side] As Iko flew away from the now destroyed land she was before, she couldn¡¯t get the fear out of her heart from the encounter with the king of the jungle, as she flew away, her wings started feeling weak and she started losing concentration, she flew down to the jungle floor to find balance, she sat down on a rock as her wings felt more weak than before, as she wondered what was happening a notification from the system appeared. [Warning, corruption levels low, analyzing problem¡­] ¡°Corruption levels low? What does it mean?¡± asked Iko to herself with a weak voice as she started having a headache. But right now, that wasn¡¯t the most important thing, she was near a near-death experience, weird at it sounded, if she didn¡¯t recollect corruption soon, she might activate [Corrupted Body] and that wasn¡¯t good, she didn¡¯t want to hold a world ending threat inside her. ¡°But how am I going to find corruption anywhere near here¡­ with how I am right now, I can¡¯t defeat anyone here¡­¡± Iko was thinking what to do while her head started feeling heavy, her eyes were almost closed shut and it became harder to breathe, then she heard a noise coming from a bush beside her, she tried to get ready for any attack, but she couldn¡¯t move an inch. What she didn¡¯t expect was a baby bird to come out of the bush, covered in wounds and limping around, it had 1 of its wings torn off and it was missing 1 eye but most important, it had corruption on its wounds, as soon as their eyes met, the bird shivered and tried to get away, but with little of her strength left, Iko said. ¡°Come here, don¡¯t worry, I won¡¯t hurt you¡± After hearing her words, the bird turned around, and looked at Iko, Iko didn¡¯t know if the bird understood her but at least it understood her intentions as she started jumping over to her, as the bird got near Iko tried to move her tail to kill it but as soon as she tried to move it, the tube containing her future snacks broke, pain exploded in her tail as all the blood inside started flowing out, as the bird saw Iko snacks flow down her tail it started jumping over to the blood and started drinking it. I guess that does also work, it will explode from drinking it according to the description given by the system. But surprisingly, instead of exploding, its wounds were healed. What the hell?! My food just healed! As Iko was questioning why the hell the bird healed, she remembered something she could and forget to do, identify it, to identify she only needed direct line sight, she can do it with her body hurting and on an almost near-death state. As the pain in her neck got stronger, she was forced to try to move to stop the bird and at the end she decided to do something stupid, she used the small amount of strength she had left to push herself forward, falling on top of the bird, stopping the process of eating her leg. ¡°Stupid bird! I¡¯m not a fucking snack!¡± The bird now trapped under Iko started retreating the tentacles back to its mouth and looked at Iko with an angered look in its eyes. You bastard! I healed you even if it was an accident and this is how you repay me?! The bird now started hitting Iko with its beak, but for the bird surprise, it beak cracked since even if she was weakened her skin was still stronger than a normal level 15 and the bird was only level 1 at that, but it beak now regenerated.
