《Paragon by Compass96》 Prologue Where the hell am I? I looked around me. I seemed to be floating in a dark, empty space. All around me was darkness. It was slightly unbearable but what worried me more was the fact that I couldn''t move. It was almost as if I was a prisoner in my own body. I slowly started to panic but no matter how much I tried, I still could not move my body. After a while, as if a switch had been turned, the place that was dark and gloomy was engulfed in a light so brilliant and bright that I tried to shut my eyes, to no avail. I was so stunned that I stopped trying to move my body. With the light came my memories. It was a punch- as if I had imbibed an extremely large amount of alcohol and had a hangover. It was extremely aggravating to have this happen every time I died. Whoever chose this method of revival was an extreme idiot. It wasn''t just being paralysed every single time, for almost 4 hours, it was being paralysed and having to face a light brilliant to almost make me lose my sight without my memories. And then having them returned through the most excruciating process known to man. And this happens every single time I died. How annoying. It was so bad sometimes I questioned the veracity of my memories. They are rather dull after all. Well, it is understandable that the system treats me this way. I am after all a monster. Still, it is rather tiring to have to experience this every single time I died. I deserved a little pity. Right. Right? I noticed that the light had begun to dim. Ah, finally, the last part. Ah well, it¡¯s time for me to go and rejoin the world. I think I¡¯ll have a pleasant welcome. Maybe I¡¯ll kill someone to get rid of my bad mood. Dying really pisses me of. A voice interrupted his reverie. It was low and obviously feminine- that seemed to be the style that was used to welcome me back. ¡°Reconnecting to Royal Road in 20 seconds.¡± ¡°Hey, I think I feel a little hungry. Would you mind releasing me, I won¡¯t even bother you. I¡¯ll just look for food without disturbing you. You don¡¯t mind right?¡± The voice ignored him and continued counting down. ¡°Hey,¡± I said with an annoyed tone, ¡°that¡¯s rude. I deserve an apology, I think.¡± Of course, I was feigning annoyance. This was a pastime of mine. Even though she always maintained that tone of polite indifference, her annoyance was obvious in her speech. However, like always, she ignored me. ¡°Countdown is over. Reconnecting to Royal Road.¡± The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. As I started to lose consciousness, I began to plot what I would do to the next group of idiots who would try and challenge me when I woke up. I hear torture is good at this time of the year. Plotting in happiness, I fell asleep. ________________________________________ A man sat alone in darkness. It seems that the irregular had returned. He never got to meet him even though he had dibs on him. He smiled and it was menacing. It was the smile of a predator eagerly waiting for his prey. An aura of blood thirst filled the air. ¡°I can¡¯t wait to meet you son. We have a lot to talk about. I just can¡¯t wait.¡± If one had seen him laughing, they would have shrunk back in horror because he appeared, at that moment to be a mad man. ¡°Oops,¡± he said and covered his mouth with his hands, ¡°I¡¯m never laughing like that again. It makes me look crazy.¡± He stood up. ¡°Well, I need to check up on my cute souls. Anticipating something makes me really happy.¡± He opened the door and one could glimpse several shapes of light in the hall, going further and further into the distance until one could not discern the length of the room. It was an unnatural ethereal image that would almost distract someone from the screams that came out from the room when he shut the door behind him. It was a bit unnerving.

When Troy heard about the dungeon, he immediately knew that this was his chance to level up quickly. Apparently, he really joined the right guild. They had the same thought as him. However, at the moment, another guild was in control of that dungeon. Naturally, his guild did not appreciate this and decided to ''help'' them out by taking it off their hands. It wasn''t even considered a conflict. The other guild was that weak.
So far, the dungeon had been a disappointment. True, skeletons were difficult to defeat. For the uninformed that is. But for the level 72 mage that was Chile, it was a piece of cake. Apparently, when skeletons weren''t commanded by a necromancer or lich it was possible for them to be defeated with fire. Just like normal corpses. Truly a disappointment, this was what Troy felt. He was in a party of 3- him, Chile and Chakus a level 69 warrior. With Chakus providing offence, Chile supplying defense and him replenishing their health and mana, they were a well balanced basic team. He understood that the dungeon was used by people at a lower level than he was but he had expected that there would be something useful for himself here. Just a lot of rubbish then. useless hype. However, as he was thinking of this, he and his party had unknowingly activated a trap and fell through a pit. Dammit, if only we had a trap setter.
I knew when the idiots fell into the hole. Surprised. Once in a while I liked to play pranks on the people entering my Dungeon. It usually happened after I died. I knew when the idiots fell into the hole. Surprised? Once in a while I liked to play pranks on the people entering my Dungeon. It usually happened after I died. Last time, a couple of skeletons disguised themselves and drained my victims of their HP. As a result, when they reached me, I was able to use them as stress relief. They were so drained, they weren''t even able to see me as I threw needles from a distance. In case anyone is wondering, my name is Ring and I am the Boss Monster of this dungeon. I think I''ve died...49 times and no, I am not a lich or a necromancer. I am just an ordinary undead like the rest. I wonder who had the bright idea to put a dungeon of the undead without any sort of commanding officer. The undead are not supposed to be independent. We are like 120% more powerful with a necromancer or a similar class. I suppose I am a little bit different. I really valued my independence. Anyway, I don''t know how but I know everything that goes on in my Dungeon and I am sometimes able to control it like a part of my body. This seemed to be one of those times. Anyway...
Troy was beginning to regret underestimating the dungeon. I should have brought more people. He was setting off traps from left to right. Despite, the fact that he was a priest, it seemed like if there were enough of the undead, the game would calculate that the undead had a bigger advantage and he would not be of much use. Of course, it depended on the power and stats of priest but for Troy Royal Road was mainly a way of getting contacts so he did not concentrate a lot on stats and more on levelling after all, the higher your level, the more people you can connect with. "Watch out,"Chile the mage said while using a fireball to remove the skeleton that was standing over Troy, "This dungeon seems to be more dangerous than was originally reported." No shit, Sherlock. I mean, it''s not like we fell through the floor, got our HP drained by a couple of skeletons(by the way, I didn''t know they could do that) and I am practically useless in this fight. I mean, I just decided- Oh yeah, that floor looks nice, I''ll just fall on it to check the texture. But Troy did not say any of his thoughts. Not only was he only useful as a replenishment potion (which they had a lot of), he was the lowest levelled. Also, finally, they had started getting experience and the more they killed, the more he got experience. What''s wrong with getting experience for free? All of a sudden, the hallway grew quiet. The three members became more cautious. This type of silence usually happened a person was approaching the boss chamber. None of them noticed but the hallway was slowly becoming darker. Without any warning both Chile and Chakus were yanked by some unknown force and I heard them scream. By the way, Chakus apparently sounds like a girl when he is scared. Do with that what you will. "Chakus, Chile," I said using the whisper function. However, when no one answered, my suspicions were confirmed. They were both dead and only I was left. I, the level 68 priest and the weakest level in the party. At this surprising turn of events, I decided to be super cautious. Basically, to stand in the middle of the hallway and try to see if there was an exit so I can get out of this accursed place. You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version. It seemed as if the dungeon was sentient because as soon as I showed any inclination to turning back, the lights behind me started going out. I decided to not find out what was going on behind and started to walk forward. But as I kept going forward, the lights kept going out at a faster rate till I walking quickly, jogging and finally outright running. When it seemed that the darkness would catch up to me, I ran straight through a door. Losing my momentum, I fell on the floor. I heard a massive amount of laughter and thus I looked up. My surprise must have shown on my face because the figure I was looking at seemed to find it extremely funny and started laughing more. I seemed to be looking at a human... Spoiler : Thought it was a cliffy didn''t you - "Hello there. My name is Ring" "Ah..." I couldn''t say anything due to shock. Why was there a human here was the only thing I could think of. I came to the conclusion that it was a player who was unaware that the dungeon belonged to my guild. "Excuse me, but this dungeon belongs to my guild - The Silvery Spiders. As you have not paid the fee to use this dungeon, you have to leave." "Pshaw." Upon hearing my answer, the player started to laugh. He brought out a knife and I instantly became cautious and on my guard. "Sorry," the guy said while still laugh, " I just thought you guys should rather be called The Barking Puppies. You have no sting." Now I was (understandably) annoyed. Not only had my party been wiped out easily but some unknown guy was here dissing my guild. The stress was too much dammit. "Would like to see how much of a sting we have." I seriously don''t know why I said that. I was only a priest without other players or the undead, I was basically useless. "Em, I don''t think that''s a good idea." The guy said. I was surprised, he seemed to be nervous all of a sudden was he that weak. I started to smirk "Moving, that is," the guy continued. I looked at him curiously. "You see, this whole room is covered in traps and you were about to step in one." I looked down. Whoa, the guy was right. Looking down at the traps made me realise that I hadn''t met the Boss Monster. So why was the guy still here? "Hey, why are you still here" "I''m waiting for the next player," the guy said. Ah is that so. Is he waiting for someone to arrive so he can join their party. That was weird but there were many weird players in the game. "Well, there don''t seem to be any more players coming so you are leaving right this moment and.." As I said this, I thought I heard the boy say "this is boring". "What.." I started to say but never got the opportunity because the guy was already halfway across the room towards me. I had no offensive skills so I decided to use SLOW- a skill I got as a reward for a quest which slows the targets movement for a duration of time. However, surprise surprise, the boy showed no difference in movement. Ah well, I thought and prepared myself for imminent death. I would revive anyway and next time I would come back with a larger party. SLASH. I expected to die but instead the drain on my HP was barely noticeable. I opened my eyes and looked into the guy''s eyes. Infuriatingly, he was smiling. It was comparable to the smile of a child that had finally got the toy it wanted. I involuntarily shivered "Can''t kill you that easily now can I? Don''t worry, you are worried about being useless, right. I''ll make good use of you." "Why?" I managed to ask despite his menacing aura. "Why?" He repeated with a stupefied look, "Because I am the Boss Monster, you little shit." When I heard this, I cursed Freya in my mind. How come she didn''t rescue me from this this situation? Dammit, I¡¯m never paying money to the church again.
The screaming bastard had finally died. Satisfied, I looked around my room and finally decided that i had enough. I had sifted through the fine wine and unfortunately the dregs. I was quite bored of my Dungeon actually. So, at that moment, I made a decision i had never thought of before, I decided to leave my dungeon. Yes, I despaired of seeing the same dreary walls, of being around unintelligent skeletons, of fighting sub-par opponents. I should go out into the world, right. With a vision of my glorious future in my head, I walked towards the exit of my Dungeon and tried to step out. Bye bye Dull world. However, as I tried to leave i got this message
Error System Message:This action is not allowed
I decided there and then that nothing was going to stop me from leaving the dungeon and after several tries with an error message a new message came up.
System Message:This will lead to you losing several levels.
YesNo
Of course I was willing to accept anything in order for me to go out and explore the word. So I selected Yes
Command Accepted. Level will be reduced to level 20
"Wait, what. Stop!!!" But, it was too late. The command had already being accepted. I would have to roam the world just like a newbie?

Chapter 2a - This game is created to be totally unpredictable. All the quests, stats and classes are generated according to the actions of the players. Even the NPCs sometimes act in an unexpected manner. I myself don''t always know what will happen. Sometimes, I find myself afraid of what I have created - Yoo Byung Joon, Creator of Royal Road in a private discussion with close friends *-* *-* *-* *-* A long, long, very long time ago, years before the creation of Versailles, humans migrated to Malek. The lands of The Line were no longer a feasible place for humans to live in due to some catastrophe. Thus, humans decide to move to Malek, a floating continent. Unfortunately, Malek at that moment belonged to the celestials. Although they had their homes in heaven, Malek was considered their playground, a place for them to de-stress. So when they heard that the humans had occupied Malek, they got pissed that His favourites had taken something of theirs again and kindly asked the humans to please leave...by attacking them. Well, obviously the humans did not take kindly to this action and decided to return this by using their impressive technology to bomb an important celestial settlement. Thus, a senseless war started between humans and celestials. *-* *-* *-* *-* ¡°We have to do something, it¡¯s unthinkable for us to lose to those winged bastards.¡± In a throne room a younger female was shouting at an older male. If one had concentrated, they would be able to hear sounds of explosions and crashes just outside the window. ¡°Alyssa, there is nothing we can do.¡± The two figures seemed to be having an intense argument to the extent that the other people around them often flinched or winced, particularly when the female ¡®replied¡¯ to her father. These two figures were currently, two of the most important people on the human continent of Malek. King Richard and his daughter Alyssa were the reason why the human race had even survived to that day and the other occupants of the room knew it. Perhaps, this was why, during their argument they did not interrupt and tried their best to seem non-existent. The king at the moment did not possess any of the qualities that the citizens of the continent had heard he had. Patience, optimism, strength...none of them was evident in the king at that moment. He only seemed tired as he answered his daughter. Apparently, Alyssa did not like his answer as she started to shout with renewed vigour. ¡°Nothing we can do. Father, we have fought the celestials for almost a thousand years. Your father and his father and the one before him. And we have always managed to still remain here. So what do you mean, we can do nothing?!¡± ¡°Alyssa¡¡± ¡°No father, no. No more excuses. Tell me why you are refusing to send aid to our frontlines. Our men need all the help they can get if we have to win this war.¡± From their conversation, one could no doubt deduct that Alyssa was in charge of their relationship. Truly, the king was henpecked. ¡°I am beginning to wonder if you care about our people at all.¡± ¡°Alyssa,¡± the king shouted. She immediately shut up. Even if she was truly the one in charge, her father was still the king and he had his moments. She breathed in trying to calm down. Perhaps she should reduce her tone and try talking to him again. the moment she did so, a window popped up.
[p=left]Quest Update![/p] Persuade the King! The Celestials and the Humans have been fighting for almost a thousand years. However, the present king, Richard, is getting tired of the war and wants to surrender to the Celestials. This might be disastrous for the humans as the celestials might order a massacre. Convince the King to continue fighting the celestials. Quest Rank- SS Quest Requirements- Have over 30000 familiarity with the King, have a strong desire to defeat the celestials. Fame 3000 Quests rewards (if accomplished)- A way to win. Penalty if Quest is not accepted- The celestials will win the war, the human race might be extinguished. Penalty if quest is not accomplished- 30000 familiarity with King will be taken. The celestials will win the war, the human race might be extinguished. Due to the heavy penalty, the rank of this quest has been increased considerably
Alyssa knew that this might be the only chance for her race. She had tried her best and had never had a reward which indicated that they might win the war. She didn¡¯t even worry about the penalties. No, she didn¡¯t even think about them. The only thing she saw was the reward she would get if she was able to simply persuade her father to continue the war. This won¡¯t be difficult at all. It isn¡¯t the first time father¡¯s gotten cold feet but this time I¡¯ll be able to stop the war. In her excitement, she stopped breathing and thus every person in that room turned to look at her in surprise. She smiled to put them at ease and under her breath said ¡°I accept.¡±
Quest Accepted
Ready now to do battle, Alyssa sat up and said, ¡°No.¡± Such a simple word but it immediately changed the atmosphere of the room. Her father¡¯s advisers sat up too, feeling the tense and unnatural atmosphere as well. After all, they did not fight tooth and nail and flatter the King for nothing. They were at their position because they knew what to say and when to say it. They were in other words parasites. King Richard, himself did not look amused by this change in behaviour in his daughter. He imperiously raised an eyebrow and opened his mouth ready to speak. But his daughter got there first. ¡°Father, you are going to send troops and equipment to the frontline. We need to win this war.¡± King Richard looked at his daughter for a few seconds. For that short while, no one in the room spoke. He might be getting older but in that moment, everyone remembered that he had been christened by his enemies as Richard the slaughterer. Rumour was that at times, the Celestials even whispered that nicknames driven to fear. Remembering this made Alyssa much more angry. Her father had once been worthy of her respect and he was now reduced to this- a weak, pitiful weary man who had no qualms with condemning his soldiers and people to death at the hands of their enemies. She swore then that when, not if, they won she would make sure to kill the celestial queen. Painfully. She was brought back from her dark thoughts by laughter. More specifically, her father¡¯s laughter. What is he laughing about. ¡°Ah, my lovely daughter. You really are my daughter. Your mother did well in giving birth to you. You even surpass your brothers when it comes to military ability.¡± Alyssa winced and grimaced. She hated when her father spoke about her mother as he always used a mocking tone that reminded her how much he hated her. ¡°However, there is one thing they have that you lack. do you know what it is?¡± As he was saying this, he used his index finger to poke her temple repeatedly. ¡°I do not know what it is. Esteemed father, please can you teach so I may learn from your wisdom.¡± It was an act and they both knew it. Alyssa became extra polite whenever she was angry but she herself knew that she had to play along with their father¡¯s game. It infuriated her that she was going along with this when they were soldiers fighting. When they could fight and finally defeat the celestials. But he was her father and he was her King. So, she played along. ¡°Your problem is that you don¡¯t know when to stop. You just keep on pushing. Do you know how i was able to conquer Kaloin despite their size and number of soldiers.¡± Silence. Alyssa did not know what to say. Her father was older than her and had been in more wars than she. ¡°I knew how to be cowardly. I knew how to sneak attack and kidnap people important to those I wanted.¡± ¡°You¡¡± ¡°Now, now. Don¡¯t look so shocked. I am sure you¡¯ve heard the rumours. But you have to know that that is the way war is conducted.¡± Alyssa breathed in again. She had been thoroughly rebuked. ¡°But Father, if you are so good at war, why do you want to give up now. Surely you know that if we lose the human race might become instinct. So why?¡± ¡°We can¡¯t fight back..¡± ¡°Bullshit. When I was a child you entertained me with stories of how humanity was able to fight on even footing with the celestials even though we did not have magic all because of our ingenuity and almost maniacal drive. And now, we even have magic. So what do you mean we can¡¯t fight back?¡± ¡°Alyssa,¡± her father backed at her. It was obvious that he found something she said irritating. ¡°Think, how many years have we been fighting celestials.¡± Oh¡ Alyssa had already realised the folly in her reasoning but answered her father¡¯s question. ¡°Almost 1000 years.¡± ¡°Do you know what the first things the Celestials started to destroy after we began to dominate in the war.¡± She did not reply. She already knew that it was a rhetorical question. My father does love to hear his own voice. I wonder how he gets work done. Oh right he doesn¡¯t. I do everything and when i try to bring up something important he treats me like a child. ¡°They went after our research factories. While we wasted our time attacking useless towns that did nothing to dull their attacks. They went after what we needed to attack them and now, a thousand years later, we really have nothing to use to fight them.¡± No one could speak. The King had just brought to their attention something they had all thought at one point or another but never dared to speak out loud because they feared it becoming a reality. However, now that it was out there, they could not deny it. ¡°We still have powerful magicians. Plus, if we ally ourselves with other nations¡¡± Richard did not let her finish talking. ¡°Other nations,¡± he said with a sneer, his upper lip curled up. ¡°Why would we do something that foolish. We ally with other nations and they will try somehow to destroy us.¡± Now, rather than the rational manner in which her father was speaking in earlier, Alyssa was more used to this childish aspect of him. ¡°Really father, Paranoia is rather disgusting and unbecoming of the King of Tari. It is this attitude of yours that is leading us to our doom. You and the leaders of the other nations are so childish they cannot let go of the grudges and paranoid behaviour inherited from their ancestors. We are being led to our extermination and you cannot even think about co-operating with the others.¡± Richard cleared his throat. ¡°Anyway, nothing you say will make you change my mind. We are surrendering. And that is final. I am so very weary of this war¡± Saying this, he turned to the window and sighed looking at the soldiers fighting with the celestial who had been able to invade the royal capital. Alyssa gritted her teeth and clenched her fingers. This stupid old man. At that moment, Alyssa considered killing her father. It would not be very difficult. She had after all being running the kingdom for a while now. And her father while still strong was already passed his prime. If she sneaked in an attack somehow, she would be able to kill him. And she was very certain one of the men in the room would talk. They were opportunity seekers after all. They did not care who the monarch was only that they would ingratiate themselves to him. Truly it would be so easy. Alyssa sighed and gave up that idea. There were too many holes in it. It would be stupid to assassinate her father herself as it would be counterproductive. There would be too much confusion and she would be under too much suspicion to actually inherit the crown. Also, although her brothers were cowards, unwilling to stand before her father, they did not fear her. They would fight to get the throne and it would leave a trail of blood so much that it would surpass the amount the celestials had already spilled. And at the end she would not get the throne. Besides, the quest had asked her to persuade and convince the King. She could not attack him physically. But she could use words. ¡°Very well father. You can surrender if you want. You are after all the King and you can do what you want.¡± ¡°Of course¡¡± It would also do you well to remember that. But her father waited. He had a feeling that his daughter was planning something. She would never acquiesce so easily. ¡°But what do you have to offer¡± ¡°What! What does that have to do with anything.¡± ¡°Father.¡± She was smiling now, he was sure of it. And he wondered what his daughter would do to persuade him from his chosen course. After all, he was so very stubborn. ¡°Whenever a country surrendered to you, didn¡¯t you first calculate what they had that you wanted.¡± ¡°Yes¡¡± ¡°What do you think celestials want from us. Our land? They claim this land belongs to them if they win they will still need us. They don¡¯t need to keep us alive. Our women? Celestial women are extremely beautiful and while there is the ¡®exotic¡¯ factor to consider, I don¡¯t think you are a woman unless there is something you are hiding from us.¡± Amused her father started to chuckle, his advisers following after him. ¡°What about our technology,¡± Amitr, one of his advisers replied, ¡°We were able to dominate the war.¡± ¡°Our technology,¡± She scoffed, ¡°Haven¡¯t you been listening to my esteemed father. We have no technology to offer them. Like father said much has been lost in the last 500 years and our firepower has massively reduced. So, no, there is no technology to offer the celestials if we do surrender.¡± Turning to her father she continued. ¡°That means, father, that we are useless to them and therefore disposable. One does not surrender when he has nothing to hand, one surrenders when he has something in hand. Right now, our resources are drained. Surrendering now would be a death sentence. I mean, do you want to die, dear father.¡± Seeing him remain silent, Alyssa continued to push. You cannot persuade father with only logical and ethical reasons. He too is afraid of death. Or rather afraid of dying without leaving any mark that he ever existed. He is far too arrogant to even consider himself becoming that. ¡°Perhaps, you are not afraid of death. Do you know what they will do to the royal family. All your family will be killed. You will have no progeny left. All your efforts and actions will become nothing because you will die a useless stupid man who gave himself up and then lost everything.¡± She was getting too passionate about this. Alyssa breathed in and calmed herself. To say that her father and his advisers were shocked would be an understatement. Knowing that she had made her point, she spoke in a softer tone of voice as if to sooth the images that her words had provoked. ¡°Father, don¡¯t end the war. Please. I am-I am afraid of what would happen. No matter what does those winged bastards offer you, you can never be sure that they will never relent on their promise. So please, for your people, for your sons, for me. Please ally with the other nations.¡± At this moment, tears had come out from her eyes and her chin was quivering. Seeing her in this state, her father sighed and relented. ¡°Very well, we will send relief to the frontlines.¡± ¡°And¡¡± ¡°And we will ally with the other nations¡± ¡°Yay, thank you father,¡± she said overjoyed and hugged him. She then ran out of the room in joy, seemingly. Her father chuckled behind her. ¡°Women,¡± he said and continued discussing with his advisers. His daughter will return later on and help in finalising the order. But for now, he decided to let her have her joyous moment. *-* *-* *-* *-* In her rooms, Alyssa collapsed in her rooms in exhaustion and exhilaration. She did not even want to think about what would have happened if she had not been able to persuade the King. However, that was all in the past, she had managed in the end even though she had to resort to crying and being emotional to do so. I did it, I made him bend to me. This feeling is indescribable. Her happiness was easily understood. King Richard¡¯s stubbornness was legendary. And as he got older and older, his stubbornness just seemed to increase. The fact that she was able to change her father¡¯s mind was worthy of praise. She had set her messages to be on mute throughout the talk she had with her father. Now that she was in a place she considered comfortable she could then check her messages.
Quest Accomplished Due to the aggressive nature of the persuasion, familiarity with the King has reduced by 2000 points. Fame+2300.

Do you wish to accept this class?
YesNo
Alyssa was sorely tempted to pick the class. But¡ ¡°There is no real reason to pick this class. It¡¯s not much different from my persuasion skill. Besides,¡± she said now grinning maliciously, ¡°I don¡¯t want to negotiate peace with the celestials. I want to trample over them, to triumph over them. To utterly destroy them. If this is the way the system has given me to win this war. Then I don¡¯t want it. I will carve my own path. I REJECT this class.¡±
You have rejected this class.
¡°That weak pathetic class that can only ¡®negotiate¡¯ for peace, I don¡¯t want it. Instead I want power. Power to save my people. Power to destroy the Celestials. Power to destroy that old coot and remove him from the throne.¡± By now, her voice had reduced. Although she had been shouting earlier, now she was almost whispering. ¡°I just want power.¡± Then all of a sudden a voice said, ¡°Good answer.¡± ¡°Who¡¯s that? Who¡¯s there?¡± ¡°Ooh temperamental. You won¡¯t help your father and get married then.¡± ¡°Come out. I command you in the name of Alyssa Resienne Tari, First Princess of the Kingdom of Tari.¡± ¡°So you want me to come out,¡± the voice said giggling. Now, it sounded suspiciously feminine, ¡°Well, thank you for the offer. I don¡¯t mind after all.¡± For a moment, it seemed as if the room was becoming darker and Alyssa became afraid. I don¡¯t know this magic. Is this celestial magic. But this is impossible. Could they have gotten here already. But then, a light, so brilliant and indescribable filled the room. Alyssa shut her eyes as the light was so bright it hurt her eyes.When the light faded, she opened her eyes slowly, wincing as her eyes were still hurting her. What she saw, though, removed all reticence from her behaviour as she opened her eyes wide in shock and surprise. There was a woman in her room. There. Was. A. Woman. In. Her. Room. And she was indescribably beautiful to boot. Alyssa suddenly felt a stab of sadness. Even though she had generally been regarded as the ¡®most beautiful woman¡¯ in the Kingdom, she did not compare to the beautiful woman in her room. She had silver eyes and long white hair. Alyssa did not recognise the clothes she was wearing and that meant something as Alyssa had once spent a summer memorizing the dress sense and cultures of the all the nations. And that included the celestials. So saying she did not recognise her dressing implied that this woman was an unnatural existence. But the truth was that the woman dressed weirdly. Unlike normal Malekian fashion that demanded that women cover themselves with beautiful clothes and ornate jewelry, the woman was definitely underdresses. All she had on were two pieces of cloth that covered her top and bottom. Her stomach was showing. Shameful. She had on earrings that were so long they reached her chest. And she was wearing handcuffs. It was amusing that that was how she knew this woman was not from her. Not because of the clawed feet she sported, not because of the fact that she had her hair reaching to her feet and wrapped around it like manacles. And definitely not because she had a tattoo that seemed to start from her temple and ended underneath her heel. ¡°It is Leviathan,¡± the woman said, noticing the way Alyssa was eyeing the tattoo. ¡°It is the mark of those He has rejected.¡± Hearing her speak only made Alyssa angrier. She had entered her room without permission and seemed to show no shyness or regret in doing so. ¡°Oh, that is a lie. I had permission.¡± ¡°I never gave¡¡± ¡°Erm, wasn¡¯t it ¡®Come out. I command you in the name of Alyssa Resienne Tari, First Princess of Tari¡¯.¡± ¡°Wha¡¡± Alyssa was now gaping at her in shock. ¡°Oh, has the ¡®Maniacal Manipulator¡¯ being silenced.¡± Alyssa just looked at her seething and imagining what she would say to her. ¡°Hey, it¡¯s not my fault I hear things.¡± That insufferable¡ ¡°Woman, why are you here?¡± ¡°Hey, don¡¯t call me that. I have a name. Call me Tarin.¡± ¡°Tarin,¡± Alyssa said smiling demoniacally, ¡°Please tell me who gave you access to my room.¡± And I will make sure they die. Showing a more beautiful woman¡ ¡°Che, calm down. I really hate types like you people who act polite outside and inside are quite malevolent. Can¡¯t you be a little more cute.¡± Cute. Cute! ¡°Well, to answer your question; you told me to come and so I did.¡± ¡°You¡¡± ¡°Anyway,¡± Tarin said moving her hands as if she was wiping away something, ¡°I can give you power.¡± Such an abrupt change in conversation. This person is tiring. ¡°And before you can say ¡®wha...¡¯ and gape like a fish, yes i heard what you said earlier.¡± ¡°Are you crazy.¡± Tarlin laughed. There was something wrong about her laughter as if the person she was seeing was simply pretending. Alyssa became once aware of the fact that this woman had appeared out of thin air and also of the occurrences that surrounded her appearance. She was not stupid and immediately concluded that there was something supernatural about her. Is she perhaps the¡ And just to prove her point, a window popped up
Quest Reward Tarin el-leadlh has decided to offer you power. If you accept her conditions you will gain power enough to defeat the celestials. Mp+12000 if you accept her offer. Extra rewards depend on the deal between you and Tarin
Plus 12000 mana points if she only accepted the offer to have power. The power that she originally wanted anyway. She would be a fool not to accept. And yet, something told her not to. ¡°What are the conditions?¡± She asked suspiciously. ¡°Nothing much. I just want you to accept me.¡± ¡°Accept you?!¡± ¡°Well yes.¡± Alyssa just looked at her incredulously. Is she jerking my chain? She is crazy right? ¡°Fine, how about this. I will give you all my power and I will give you my knowledge. Just not all at once because i am incredibly powerful. Besides, do you know how long I¡¯ve lived. Now imagine all that power and Knowledge all in you at once without you having any chance to train your body. It would be soooo horrific. I mean, you might just explode immediately. Or, oh you poor dear. Your brain might just decide to shut down, you could go into a coma, or regress mentally, or become an invalid unable to talk or walk. You might even become plagued with nightmares, unable to sleep because you are terrified of your dreams. Because of that you might even lose your beautiful looks. This could make your father disinherit you and¡¡± ¡°Tarin!¡± Alyssa shouted. ¡°Huh, yes.¡± ¡°Focus.¡± ¡°Oh, ok, alright. Well, i¡¯ll give you my power and knowledge in stages because, oh dear if not¡¡± ¡°Tarin!!¡± ¡°Sorry, sorry. Ah well, in exchange. You will have to let me in. To possess you, so to speak.¡± By now, Alyssa¡¯s face had changed to a vivid red. She was almost about to pounce. ¡°Possess me,¡± she said casually but Tarin did not notice her restraint or earlier actions. She was too absorbed in presenting her case. ¡°Well, that sounds so negative. I swear I have no negative intentions. I just want to rest a little. Inside you.¡± ¡°Inside me,¡± Alyssa replied in that blas¨¦ tone. ¡°Well, yes. But I won¡¯t actually do anything. I just want to watch.¡± ¡°Watch, huh.¡± By now, Tarin was already aware of her too calm tone. She also noticed Alyssa looking at her or more specifically at her handcuffs. She too looked down to gaze at it. She almost seemed sad. ¡°Well, this get-up was because...I¡¯m really suspicious aren¡¯t I.¡± Is she really asking that? Alyssa thought giving her attire another look over before sighing, But this is my only chance. Still... ¡°I¡¯m so so sorry. If you don¡¯t want to, I¡¯ll understand.¡± ¡°I¡¯ll do it,¡± Alyssa said before she went on another tangent. ¡°It¡¯s okay if you don¡¯t want¡ Wait what, you¡¯ll do it. Thank you, thank you, thank you.¡± ¡°I got it, now get off me.¡± ¡°Ok. Then let¡¯s do the contract.¡± ¡°A contract, what for?¡± ¡°The Contract is the single thing in all existence that is unbreakable. It is a necessary step for a deal like this if we do not want to be cheated. One can take even His power if they have fulfilled a Contract of that nature with Him.¡± ¡°Please give me your hand.¡± When Alyssa complied, Tarin used one of her nails to scratch Alyssa¡¯s hand. ¡°Ow, what was that for?¡± ¡°The Contract is always signed in blood.¡± ¡°You could have told me that before you cut my palm.¡± ¡°Why, can you not endure pain.¡± ¡°No, I detest it.¡± ¡°Hmm, is that true?¡± Tarin smiled mysteriously. Alyssa was about to ask what she meant by her statement but Tarin had torn her palm with her teeth and pressed both their palms together. Painful She then began to chant. ¡°Let all the witness gather, A Contract is made this day. To unite, to bind. To gift, to flow. May our bond be strong.¡± It was extremely windy now and her room seemed to be wrecked. But she and Tarin in the eye of the storm were safe. It occurred to Alyssa at that moment that maybe she had been playing with magic and forces to ancient and complex for her to understand. She became nervous but her resolve was not weakened. She did not matter what she became as long as she got power. As long as she drank that intoxicating draught that few were ever chosen to drink. ¡°May our bond be strong. Let our Contract be blessed. Let Him witness. May we never break our bonds. As I give her my power to use but do not interfere unless asked and as she gives me her body for I am tasked.Let our contract be blessed. Let our souls be bound. And let our punishment be set if we ever relent this Contract. As I Tarin el-leadlh vow this day.¡± As flashes of lightning arced through the sky, as torrents of rain poured down, as wind raced through her room, Alyssa Resienne Tari was awed by the display of power. Yes, this is what I want. Suddenly she felt Tarin¡¯s elbow in her stomach. ¡°Repeat my last sentence only with your name,¡± she whispered. ¡°Oh, ok. As I Alyssa Resienne Tari vow this day.¡± ¡°As we vow this day. May this Contract be approved.¡± And loud was the thunder. The lightning that arced, the wind that raced along with the wind, all converged in the spot that she and Tarin was standing. For a moment, Alyssa took the time to admire the beauty of the display. And then she screamed. She had never liked pain and had a very low tolerance for it. And now, she felt as if she was electrocuted, stabbed and had boiling water poured on her. The pain was excruciating. But she would not die. ¡°Sorry, I forgot to tell you that it would hurt a bit. I mean using Contract might have made it hurt more. But it¡¯s not that painful. Just breath and endure and it will pass. That bitch she did this on purpose and is enjoying this. Just you wait when I get up I¡¯ll kill you. No, I won¡¯t kill you. I will slowly flail your skin and then using magic reanimate you over and over for me to torture until you fear both dying and living. But, the pain was too much, Alyssa could not hold and fell to unconsciousness, planning torture and hearing the sound of System Messages:
You have levelled up You have levelled up You have levelled up¡

and more windows Well. Perhaps, it was worth it. I¡¯ll still kill her though. Due to her Pain Tolerance skill rapidly levelling up, by the time she fell unconscious, the pain had greatly reduced. Still, she swore that she would from that moment always avoid pain. Tarin looked amusedly at the sleeping body at her feet and then down to her hands. Well, that went well, I¡¯m free now. I just hope this child would give me enough entertainment and time to rest before deciding to let me handle things. She smiled and at that moment, there was no trace of her earlier flighty behaviour. Trina disappeared from the room and it reverted back to its earlier state. Spoiler : AN: Sorry for not bringing this earlier. I will update Part 2 which shows Ring...soon...I think

Chapter 2b Selfish is an emotion deep inside the genetic makeup of human beings. That as well as greed. Even love, the ¡®purest¡¯ emotion, is a result of selfishness. It is a result of our desire to have another human being to confine in, another human being to reduce our loneliness. Thus, I can safely conclude that three things drive humans: selfishness, greed and loneliness. Whoever said that selfishness is wrong does not know humans. We are selfish. [p=right]- Unknown[/p] x-x x-x x-x x-x ¡°What the hell is this,¡± a voice cried out in the broad afternoon. ¡°What is up with this message.¡± The voice was Ring¡¯s. His anger was understandable, after all when he was planning his ¡®great escape¡¯, he did not imagine that there would be any punishment whatsoever for leaving his domain. But there it was, the message that was the source of his misery.
Due to leaving your domain forcefully, your level has been reduced to level 20. As a result, the experience rate for levelling up will be 5 times lower. All your skills have lost 2 levels, however, you can level them up at the same experience rate as before. Well then, just want to say Happy Adventuring. Good luck. May He approve. ¡°Whatever the f--- have I done? Is it so wrong to want to leave that dungeon which, by the way, smells of blood and dead bodies. I mean, like any normal person, I just want to see the outside world. Dammit, I¡¯m so stressed.¡± ¡° I shouldn¡¯t have killed that guy. He would have been an adequate punching bag.¡± Still venting about his unfortunate situation, Ring passed a river and then by chance he looked into it. What he saw there shocked him to the extent that he jumped back and screamed, chasing away a flock of birds from their nests and rightful homes. The thief! ¡°What the heck is this?!¡± No one would have had any right to criticise Ring for his outburst.This was because when he looked down at that river, he noticed that his hair had regrown. Once again,it had become waist length. One would even question his gender because he perfectly looked like a girl. A beautiful one too. ¡°I thought I cut this yesterday. This is unfair. Why was I even born with this body. Whoever my mother is, I¡¯m cursing you right now. Not only do you leave me to fend by myself, which I don¡¯t really mind, but you didn¡¯t even check what kind of child you gave birth to.¡± ¡°Tch,¡± he said, rising and kicking at the grass, ¡°I am going to cut it again. I should have some scissors in my inventory.¡± He searched through his inventory but try as he could, he could not find any scissors. He had to settle with a knife that had the worrying description of:
[p=center]Rusted Blunt Knife[/p]
This is a blunt and rusted knife. It possibly contains several diseases and viruses. Takes 10 HP per second from the person it stabs. Cause excruciating pain for impaled person. Not recommended for combat as it difficult to cut flesh.
Durability9/25
Dammit. i was so certain that i had some scissors. What¡¯s with this creepy knife. Oh well, whatever you have, right Looking satisfied after cutting his hair, Ring bent down to see himself in the stream. Now that he had cut that annoying piece of hair close to o his scalp he was content. Then, he looked up and noticed the sky darkening. It was only then that he realised that he had been under the sun for the whole time he had been outside. He had noticed anything different and that was saying something for a guy that had probably been in a cave for the entirety of his life. I really need to check my stats understand what is going on with myself He was about to do that, however, that was when he noticed that the forest that had been quiet- almost unnaturally so- was not quiet any longer. The noise sounded artificial and so Ring decided to keep silent and listen to the direction from which the noise came from. It seemed that the noise was caused by a group of people who did not have the sense to keep silent in a forest as dangerous as the one he was in. Ring did not know whether they were on a quest or not but frankly he did not care. All he could get was that this was a group of stupid people who did not understand how easy it was to die. Amateurs. When they got close enough for him to see their names, Ring began to laugh. Silently at first but later it became a full blown one. Perhaps it was stupid considering that the marks over the heads of the five members of the group showed that they were a PK group, but Ring could not help it. In fact, the thought that those five were members of a Pk guild was what did him in. He could not understand why members of a Pk guild did not understand basic stealth. Thus, he laughed at their foolishness and all his worries of that day left him at that moment. Yes, it does not matter if I am a level 20 or a level 1. I¡¯ll just lIve my life the way I want. Still, I want to know the level of my power and these ¡°PKers¡± will be test subjects. Thinking this he grinned. Rather evilly. x-x x-x x-x x-x ¡°I have no idea why we have to come to this forest. Rarely anyone ever comes here. Or do you actually expect us to go on a quest¡±, Chen, one of the members of the guild, ranted. However, the leader for this expedition, Milch as well as the other three members, ignored him. Nevertheless, Chen ignored the condescending silence and continued his rant. ¡°We aren¡¯t actually going on a hunting expedition. There¡¯s a reason why we are PKers, the horror of other players. We don¡¯t hunt or get in danger, rather, we take all our supplies from others. So why the hell are we here?¡± One of the other players could not hold his tongue any longer and muttered under his breath ¡°Horror of the other players, my ass.¡± ¡°I am sorry, Rickz. Did you say something?¡± ¡°I said, who is the horror of the other players? You?¡± ¡°Yes, me. Is there a problem?¡± ¡°You are a chicken, a weakling and a coward. To call yourself a horror is at most laughable and at least pathetic.¡± ¡°Ha. And are you any better. At the last raid, didn¡¯t you find it difficult to kill that chick. Aren¡¯t I right Alex?¡± Alex was a Barbarian type player and obviously the muscle of the group. Anyone would realise this due to how huge in stature he was. He looked at Chen condescendingly before turning his head away in a classic gesture of ¡®who are you to talk to me¡¯. Chen did not push Alex any further and turned to Riv, the wizard of the party. ¡°Riv, I am correct, right?¡± ¡°Hmph, neither of you two has any right to talk about cowardice. Who do you think covered for you too when you were too weak to make the kill shot?¡± ¡°Hey you bastard,¡± Rikz shouted while Chen muttered darkly, ¡°I¡¯m going to kill you.¡± Both of them pulled out a short sword and dagger respectively while Alex stood at akimbo holding his staff in front of him as he was ready to take their hits and retaliate. As the three of them were about to begin a fight, Milch held up a finger, the universal sign for silence. ¡°There is someone in front of us,¡± he whispered. The other four members became silent and looked in the direction that Milch was pointing towards. Around 400 metres from them a male went about setting up camp. He was gathering sticks for the fire that was already blazing in the cold night. In his front was a stream and on its banks was a massive amount of hair. Did that amount of hair really come from a boy, they wondered. Apparently the answer was yes because they saw the evidence on the male¡¯s head. His hair was hacked short to his scalp showing the ink colouring around his neck. Quite rightly, his hairstyle could be considered a disgrace to fashion. Not a trap again, they thought remembering another encounter. Damn those guys who looked like girls. Was it that difficult to look like your gender. ¡°Let¡¯s attack,¡± Chen said moving towards him as he spoke. Suddenly, Milch came in front of him and stopped him. ¡°What..,¡±Chen started to say but stopped when he noticed a thread stretching from one tree to another in front of him. Looking closely, he noticed many of these threads in various places. They were obviously there to set traps of some kind. ¡°Smart,¡± he said, then stepped over the thread while making sure not to touch another one, ¡°but naive.¡± Of course, he ignored the fact that he would have been caught in a trap if his leader hadn¡¯t interfered. Getting over this upset they moved in a well practised attack pattern with Alex in the front as their heavy hitter, Milch providing support and Rickz trying to get into his blind spot to attack. Chen and Riv were the long distance as Chen, being the archer would shoot from afar, and Riv would launch attacks and help them recover their HP. However, it was all for naught. Although they had planned to do a synchronised attack: Milch, Alex and Rickz would hit him at the same time as Chen and Riv sent arrows and fire bolts, by the time they were ready, he wasn¡¯t there anymore. ¡°Dammit, he got us. Be alert,¡± Milch yelled but almost as soon as he said that he heard someone scream. Chen was dead. x-x x-x x-x x-x Ah, finally. That guy is dead. His voice was itching my ears. He didn¡¯t even die with dignity. I mean I just lopped his head off with a piece of my hair. As he thought this, Ring snickered. Usually when he was fighting someone he was calm almost like it was an execution but this was his first first since he left his dungeon and he was at a lower level. Apart from that, he did not have his cave as an advantage anymore. Thus he felt giddy with excitement. However, Ring had underestimated the PK group and immediately a fire bolt hit him. Shit¡
[p=center]You have lost 25 HP[/p]
. Gotta be careful. Noting that his location had been discovered, Ring leapt like to the top of a tree like it was natural for him. Milch looked back at Chen¡¯s corpse and nodded at Riv. There was no need to mourn Chen¡¯s death and by extension, loss of stats. He knew the risks. Besides, it was not as if he was dead. The nod was a signal to Riv to cast the wide area magic, Location. It was a grade B magic that allowed the caster to find the identity of anyone in a particular area irrespective of level or disguise. Only players over level 163 with grade B disguise magic could escape this magic. However, the downside to this magic was that it took a lot of MP, to the extent that the magician essentially became useless for the rest of a fight. Why Milch asked his wizard to cast this magic despite the knowledge of his disadvantage showed the extent of his confidence in his firepower. ¡°Got him,¡± Riv whispered, ¡°He is up that tree.¡± Ring had stayed there because despite the assumptions to the contrary, he was not well acquainted with the location. After all, the guy had never been out of the cave before in his life. ¡°Ok,¡± Milch accepted, ¡°Since we don¡¯t have the ninja skills to climb up a tree and not make noise as well, i suggest that we lure him out.¡± ¡°How,¡± Alex asked. He just wanted to finish with this attack and leave, after all in real life, Alex was a weakling. ¡°Now, don¡¯t be a stereotype,¡± Milch replied condescendingly, ¡°We can burn him out.¡± Hearing this, Riv spoke up. ¡°Don¡¯t even think about it. That location spell took everything out of me. The only thing I can do now is produce a low level fire ball.¡± ¡°Then do that.¡± ¡°You don¡¯t understand. That won¡¯t hurt nobody.¡± ¡°I don¡¯t really care about that. I just want him to come down.¡± ¡°If I do that, I won¡¯t have any MP left. You know i can;t stay alive without MP for more than 10 minutes.¡± ¡°Don¡¯t worry,¡± Milch said and grinned confidently, ¡°We¡¯ll finish it before then. We just have to attack as normal.¡± ¡°Tch. Fine,¡± Riv said and threw a fireball. It would barely do anything but Ring¡¯s fine tuned instincts recognised it as a threat and he immediately and involuntary jumped down from the tree. However, it was a trap. As soon as he came down, he got a system message.
[p=center]You have lost 50 HP[/p]
. Momentarily shocked, Ring looked on his body to find where the attack had hit him. However, he got another message.
[p=center]You have lost 25 HP[/p]
He was still surprised when Alex¡¯s sword came towards him however, he automatically dodged the attack albeit barely.
[p=center]You have lost 15 MP[/p]
Now that their surprise attack had worked to an extent, the PKers, sans Rickz as he was an assassin, came out. Now was the time for intimidation. Love what you''re reading? Discover and support the author on the platform they originally published on.¡°Ah, today is your unlucky day. It¡¯s a pity that you met us just after signing up for Royal Road but in the long run this will benefit you. Now, the best thing for you to do would be to just stand there as we kill you. If you do so, I promise that death won¡¯t be painful. Isn¡¯t that better than fighting, be beaten up and hurt and then die.¡± After this speech, Milch smiled. It was supposed to be intimidating but on Ring. it just felt annoying. Also, it helped in getting rid of the excitement and anxiety out of his system. He reasoned that he could get excited after the fight. When he kept one person alive to learn,cough cough- torture. Alex ran, well jumped, in his direction with his sword raised above his head. He brought it down but Ring was no where in sight. Due to some instinct of his, he looked up and saw Ring falling above with a knife towards his head. Alex evaded Ring without much trouble and Ring fell to the ground without fulfilling anything. But that was not all that Ring had planned. Without knowing, Alex had triggered one of the strings that they had seen earlier. This led to several logs of wood falling on him.
[p=center]You have lost 115 HP[/p]
However, Alex was a barbarian with a large amount of vitality. That was not enough to take him out for the count. Still, it was enough to leave him motionless for a while, enough for Ring to dash towards him and end him. However, as Ring ran towards him, a dagger was thrown in his direction. Ring had not yet found Rickz position and thus, he was still a dangerous element to contend with. As the dagger neared his face, Ring¡¯s hand came up and caught the dagger. ¡°Gotcha,¡± he said and ran towards the direction that the dagger came from. Ring had been in enough fights to know how dangerous assassins were after all 40% of his previous deaths had been because of assassins. So, he had theorised that since Alex seemed to be their strongest fighter they would do all they could to prevent his death. The assassin would inadvertently reveal his position. As he ran towards Rickz, Ring invoked the skill, Theolomen. It was a skill he regularly used in his dungeon to muddle the senses of the people he was attacking. As a level 220 boss, the skill barely used any discernible MP. As a level 20, on the other hand, the skill used enough MP to drain a normal person. While it didn¡¯t use up to a third of his current MP, the effect of Theolomen was greatly reduced. However, that short amount of time was enough for Ring to reach Rickz and stick his dagger in his heart. And then he stomped on the dagger. Then he used the blade that had always been in his shoes to slash his throat. After this, Ring smiled devilishly at Rickz.
[p=center]You have lost 103 HP[/p]
[p=center]You have lost 123 HP[/p]
Rickz received many windows of a similar fashion i.e detailing the extent of the damage, in quick succession before receiving the final inevitable message.
[p=center]You have died[/p] You will be able to log in after four days and will revive in the last town you were in. Due to your status as a player killer, you will lose more items, valuable or otherwise, than is normal
Ah, shit. Dammit ¡°Bye bye,¡± he said innocently like an oblivious child to Rickz as he died and his body disappeared. Since Rickz was a PKer, a large amount of drops accompanied his death. Ring bent down and picked them up, conveniently avoiding the sword that Milch had thrown in his direction. 5 minutes had passed, by now, Riv was already doubting Milch. He had already begun to wonder about what he would drop if he died. Surely not his precious potions. He was already bitter about losing his most valuable one a couple fights before. He had gone through hell to get a potion that could replenish HP to be half way full and he had lost it just like that. He hoped Milch ended the match soon, he had a similar potion, although with a much lower potency,. ¡°Ah,¡± Ring said slapping his hand against his forehead, ¡°there was another one.¡± Milch advanced cautiously towards Ring. He had already decided that this was a crazy player. Perhaps, he thought that if he kept silent, he would not be distracted. Ring noticed this but rather than feeling worried, he smirked. ...the time is ripe... ¡°You¡¯ve got to forgive me. I have this embarrassing habit of ignoring and forgetting weak people. Hope you don¡¯t mind.¡± In indignation Milch looked up and frowned. He was not weak. He might have not being as strong as Alex but he was the second strongest in the party. Besides, physical was overrated. After all, he was the leader and not Alex. His tactical sense was enough to defeat all the players they had met before and it would be enough to defeat this one. If it was not obvious yet, Milch had a very severe inferiority complex towards Alex. Seeing Alex felled by the monster in front of him made him extremely nervous. Yet, at the same time, he was excited this was his chance to show that he was better than Alex. That, he could do something Alex couldn¡¯t. ...the quickening is near¡ In his musing, he failed to notice that something was wrong. The forest was quiet, too quiet, almost as if in anticipation like a little who hold his breath before opening a christmas present. Also, his opponent was still. Milch just saw it as an opportunity. He thought that all the hits the newbie had been taking had finally had an impact. Still, Milch wasn¡¯t a mediocre player. He only became a PK because he had been bored of the formulaic way that RR was played. Go on a quest, level up , go on another quest. Over and over and over. He had thought to himself that since he was in a game and no one could truly die, he should have as much fun as possible. His reasons and brain made him different So he decided to advance cautiously, slowly towards Ring. Perhaps that was his undoing. 7 mins had passed since the beginning of the fight, Riv had already resigned himself to death. Milch came within an arm¡¯s length of Ring and thrust his sword at Ring. He was surprised though when he heard the clang of another sword against his own. He thought that Ring only had one sword. Apparently, he had filched a sword off Rickz. Well taken technically. Milch jumped back. ¡°Hmph, why didn¡¯t you let this ¡®weak¡¯ person stab you huh.¡± ...let your blood boil... Ring paid him no mind and ran towards him. ~Clang~ Sword met sword again and Milch was pushed back. ¡°A thousand deaths,¡± Milch muttered and activated a skill that allowed him to literally run circles around his opponent at high speed. He had held this skill back to use on Alex but he decided that he should at least use it for a trial run. He grinned. ¡°I¡¯ve got you now.¡± However, try as he could, he was not able to touch Ring. Although Ring barely moved, anytime he tried to strike him, Ring was able to block his sword and so this went on for a while. Three minutes exactly and Riv died. Only two left now ...awaken... Suddenly, Ring stretched out his hand, caught Milch and threw him to hit a tree. That was painful

Dammit, a third of my HP at once. Who the hell is this guy? I thought he was just a newbie. But now¡ He resolved to be more cautious and decided to attack again. However, he was stopped in his tracks when he looked at Ring¡¯s face.

Ring who had bent his face towards the ground for a while had now raised his head to face him. His eyes had become totally red and they were glowing. It was as if someone had poured blood or some other red liquid in his eyes and it had spilled out. Then, Ring smirked cruelly and Milch thought shit. For a moment, Milch was terrified before he shook himself out of it. Still, his body refused to go towards Ring. Dammit. Which kind of player is this guy? This has never happened before and I¡¯ve raided a lot of players, high, low and mid players. Ah well, this isn¡¯t real life anyway. Despite thinking this and assuring himself of his situation, he could not convince his body to move. At all. ¡°Thinking of running away. I think not.¡± ¡°You. Who are you? What kind of player are you?¡± ¡°Player?! Are you saying that this is a game,¡± Ring replied amusedly yet menacingly. ¡°Well if you think so. But unfortunately for you, you are too boring to play with. There is still one more person alive, isn¡¯t that so.¡± ¡°I don¡¯t really understand your over-reaction. I know many people become immersed in their role in this game but you know that this is a game, right. Just virtual reality. So calm down. You really look as if you think that you will really kill me.¡± Game. What¡¯s that? ¡°I don¡¯t understand what you are saying but thank you for standing still for me. Looks like you have accepted the inevitability of escape. What was that you said- ¡®the best thing for you to do would be to just stand there as we kill you. If you do so, I promise that death won¡¯t be painful¡¯. I could say this same to you.¡± Ring walked towards Milch with the intent of killing him. ¡°Just you wait,¡± Milch shouted trying to me but to no avail, ¡°I won¡¯t really die you know.I¡¯ll just respawn you know. My guild will hunt you down. You piece of sh¡¡± But there was nothing he could do as he died.

¡°Goodbye to you too,¡± Ring said even managing to look sad and Milch died cursing Ring in his heart. It was his first death in a very long time. Looking at the spot Milch vanished from, Ring began to stumble back. All of a sudden the hazy feeling of power started to fade. His blood began to boil and he heard the pounding of his heart in his ears. What¡ He started to shiver and his sight began to blur. Then, he threw his head back and a bright light struck the heavens from where he stood. Lightning flashed across the sky and it began to rain. x-x x-x x-x x-x She had been woken by an uneasy feeling, like one of ant crawling on your skin. Confused and anxious, she looked around her. And that was when she felt it. It was a familiar energy, one that reminded her of bad memories. Really horrible memories. ¡°Guess the time for sleep had passed. There¡¯s one more left, huh. Ah, it¡¯s going to be a long day. A very long day.¡± Saying this, Tarin el-leadh picked up her two swords and smiled menacingly. Spoiler : Phew, so two months eh. Sorry for the long time to update. And the crappy fight scene. But i did give you Ring didn¡¯t I. He¡¯s not in his full greatness but i promise in the next chap, he will back to his expected badassery(?). [p=right]~compass[/p]
