《He Who Slays by Stevenoth: Discontinued》 Prologue 5:55 AM - Friday Morning --------------------------------------------------------------- The sun slowly rises and peers through the window of a small apartment, much to the disdain of a young man in his early twenties. Laying awake in an awkward position, he groggily rubs his eyes and begins patting down his unkempt hair. He then realizes it''s finally 6:00 AM as the sound of the alarm began to resound in the room, which was most unwelcome, mind you. Jake has a tendency to wake up roughly five minutes before the alarm goes off, most likely out of habit. The man finally musters the energy to rise from his bed, and begins to stumble to the bathroom while cursing the sun. Taking a look through the mirror, his gaze is met with a pair of brown, mean looking eyes, blonde hair, and a scowl. "Yepp, I need to shave." Jake mumbled as he began to pull out his gear. After cutting himself a good number of times, and cursing a bit more, Jake finally hopped into the shower. I suppose I should censor his shower scene and activities, and take this time to better explain what our protagonist looks like. Jake is moderately well built, and thin. Standing at a staggering height...of...well...5''7''''... His eyes are of the lightest brown, but alas, give him a very mean look despite their soft tone. This coupled with the fact that the young man has a tendency to space out usually puts him between a rock and a hard place more frequently than not. Sometimes thugs even go so far as to approach him, which usually causes a violent confrontation. The rumors of these fights and his mean look became the start of many foul rumors, and now many of his normal classmates are scared to approach him. It''s even worse for his love life. Despite being moderately good looking, and having a couple women interested in him, none will approach him due to his eyes and the rumors. This makes for a very boring love life as one could imagine. Finally cleaned up and out of his bad mood, Jake walked into the kitchen to put on a pot of coffee. He pulled out the breakfast he had prepared the night before...well...actually...it was leftovers from McDonalds. Quite healthy...He then poured himself a cup of the finished coffee and turned on the TV. Various news stations appeared as he flipped through the channels. Support the creativity of authors by visiting the original site for this novel and more. "Today, in Royal ROAD..." "The Royal Road market..." "Royal Road hall of fa..." *Click* As Jake turned off the TV, he was in a rage. He was sick of being the only one without the game, and being so out of the loop. As Jake arrived at his classes, his eyes were met by...no one''s. Once again, everyone averted their eyes to avoid his stare and grew eerily silent. Mumbling, Jake made his way nonchalantly to his seat. As classes started, time began to pass at an immeasurably slow rate. During breaks, he was tortured further as he is every day. All day, every day, talks of Royal Road, fun, and adventure. He was sure he was the last one in this world without a capsule. This fact coupled with his mean looks meant almost no one approached him, and he had nothing in common with his classmates. All of that, however, was about to change. Yes, Jake had finally stashed away enough over the last two years to be able to afford a capsule plus installation. While he was at class for the day, a company was working hard to get him all set up! Finally, when he arrives home he can begin his legacy in Royal Road. Finally, he would no longer be out of the loop and perhaps he could even begin conversing with classmates. He hoped this, in turn, would help him make some friends, which he needed sorely. The rest of his day was filled with thoughts of adventure as he could barely contain his excitement. Finally, as his last class ended, Jake ran home at a speed which he has not traveled in years. All manner of thoughts pertaining to adventure, perils, and glory consuming him along the way. As he finally reached the door, he found a note which read, "Installation completed without issue, enjoy." With a wide grin on his face, he entered his home and ran straight to his bedroom. His face lit up like a child''s on Christmas, and he jumped in the glistening silver pod almost immediately."Oh! Comfy!" He proclaimed as he closed the lid. In an instant, the inside turned dark, and a message popped up. "Yes!" He shouted. Ye olde pub (Discussion) I am writing this purely for my own enjoyment, and to immerse myself in LMS world. XD Chapter 1.1 - Into the World As jake stared into the darkness, he was finally assailed by a bright light. He shielded his eyes for the second time this day and exclaimed, "First the sun this morning, and now this!" Before he could begin cursing as per the norm, he was greeted by a feminine, slightly robotic voice which echoed in the empty white space. "The scan on your iris and vein has determined that you are an unregistered user. Do you want to create a new account?" "Yes." Said Jake. "Select a name for your avatar." Jake took at least thirty minutes to ponder about the name in which he would use. He has always taken forever to pick a name. Finally, He looked up and said, "Azrael." "You may select your gender from male, female, or neutral." Jake looked up in disgust. "As if I want to play as a tranny...and god only knows what neutral has in store." "Male, please." "Royal Road has forty-nine races. You may select your race from the primary twenty-nine- races at this moment, however." "Suppose I will go for human." "You may alter your appearance." ¡°The way I am. Although, I wish you could make my eyes a little less mean.¡± Jake mumbled under his breath. "Checking with administrators." "Wait...Checking what??" "Request accepted. Eyes have been made meaner." "Your account has been activated. Your stats and class shall be determined while you are playing Royal Road." ¡°"Hold on a second, I said less mean. LESS MEAN. Do you understand?" "Select a city and kingdom you want to start." "No, no, no, I want my eyes LESS mean..." "Select a city and kingdom you want to start." Jake sighed, "Oh well." "Random..." "Welcome to Royal-..." ¡°Skip...¡± Jake then felt a great pressure on his body, and everything went black. When he opened his eyes again, they began to adjust to a new world. Jake''s mouth was left agape, and he was in awe of his surroundings. The realism of this world was unbelievable, and he could not come to terms with the fact he was laying inert in his bedroom. He began to jump around and test his new environment out. Obviously, he drew comical looks from most of the crowd, to which he blushed and went to sit down at a nearby bench. The tutorial had explained to him that he was bound to the starting city for one month game time which translated to one week in the real world. Thus, Jake began searching for things to do. Everywhere he looked, people averted their gazes. His once slightly mean eyes now made everyone cringe in fear and scurry away in the opposite direction. "Accursed AI! I will have my revenge you robotic wench!" Shouted Jake, scaring people passing by even further. As he walked, he spotted well built men wearing full plate, and fragile looking men in robes gripping staves. There was no end to the number of new sights he took in, and he assumed he would never grow tired of simply even taking in the sights of this world. As he walked around, he spotted houses billowing purple fumes, and mages casting spells to aid in construction. Various shrubbery which he had never seen in his life came into view, and guards were doing hourly patrols. Alas, he could take in sights all day, but he was still at a loss for things to do. "Well, I might as well check the extent of my abilities. Stats!"

"Oh dear, I am very, very squishy..." Jake sighed once more as he started looking for one of the nearby guard patrols which had just passed by seconds ago. Jake had no interest in money. He was a true hardcore gamer, and simply cared about his character''s progression. So obviously, in his years of research, he had come to know of the local training hall which could provide permanent stat boosts. "It''s a start, and I can''t travel out of the city so I might as well train." Enjoying the story? Show your support by reading it on the official site. Jake finally approached the guard and said, "Excuse me sir, by any chance do you know the location of the training hall?" The guard clicked his tongue as if he had been approached by filth and stated, "You''re standing in front of it you fool." The guard pushed Jake down and continued on his way. "Disrespectul AI. I swear I shall slaughter them all." Jake mumbled as he made his way inside. When he entered he saw a plethora of users swinging an assortment of wooden weapons at scarecrows. Their tenacity got Jake all fired up and he made his way to the rack of weapons. As he stared at the weapons he recalled his normal preferences. In any other game he would play it safe and maximize defense with a sword/shield combo. However, being in the game and seeing the weapons in front of him, he could not resist the two handed weapons. He loved the thought of walking around with a hammer bigger than himself. Surely then, people would see his strength and want to party with him! The game itself, however, saw fit to ruin his plans. He could hardly lift the axe and hammer. Not only were they horribly unbalanced, but they were heavy as well. EXTREMELY HEAVY. Jake then dropped the hammer on his foot.

"OWWW!" Screamed Jake, much to the amusement of many other people. Cursing under his breath, Jake then took the wooden two handed sword. It simply felt right in his hands, and was quite balanced in comparison to the other two weapons. Although still heavy, he could swing this one with a bit of effort. The sound of the two handed sword cleaving through the air was ecstasy to Jake. Simply put, his mind was made up, this weapon was for him. Three more swings though, and the sword dropped to the ground. Jake''s arms were on fire. "Seems in virtual reality you are truly weak in the noob stage." Muttered Jake. As he begrudgingly dragged the sword to one of the scarecrows, he began to strike it rhythmically. This was disgusting. He had to stop every five or so swings to rebuild his stamina, and his shirt was covered in sweat. 6 HOURS LATER...

"NOPE! No more, I can''t do this anymore! This is way too boring, and it takes way too long for results!" Jake began to stomp off when he turned to look at the instructor. He looked at the sword in his hands and asked the instructor, "Sir, may I keep this sword?" The instructor simply nodded and Jake thanked him. Jake walked outside and checked the stats on the wooden 2h sword.

"Why is this thing so hard to swing!!" Yelled Jake. As he walked to a nearby fountain, he was dragging the sword behind him while getting laughed at once more. He sat on the edge of the fountain, and began to nibble on a rock of supposedly "Rye" bread. He then took a few quick sips from his canteen. That was all he had in this world. Rock bread, water, and a useless sword...Jake sighed. He was then approached by a shady old man garbed in a brown traveler''s robe. Jake looked at the man and said, "Can I help you sir? Look, it''s been a long day and I kind of just want to relax." The old man smiled and looked at jake, "Boy, you can help me, and in turn, perhaps I help you. I''m here to offer you a job. Who knows, by the end of it you may even be able to swing that sword properly!" "Can it be true?" Thought Jake. It was. It was a quest. T-Ting

"Wait...What do you mean looks weak!" Jake clicked his tongue. The old man smiled wryly and said, "My name is Horrick." Jake nodded and said, "I am Azrael." Horrick nodded as well, and said,"Here is a map to my home, be there at 6:00 AM sharp two days from now and we shall begin." Jake replied, "Gotcha, I''ll be there." Horrick gave a wave as he then went on his way. Jake decided to log out for a little bit to eat and rest for a while before returning to the game. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 1.2 - Handling Horricks Wood As Jake walked down the street, he realized he never asked Horrick what the job entailed. He had simply accepted blindly due to his excitement in receiving his first quest. "Old man Horrick seems a bit shifty, but he might be a good person. I hope I''m not going to get boned on this..." Jake''s mind wandered as he made his way into the corner store. His food supply consisted of packaged lunches, instant food, and coffee. Needless to say, he did not eat very well. Gathering what he needed, he made his way to the front of the store. Jake then began trying to haggle with the clerk, who then reminded him what year it was, and asked for the proper amount of money. Jake walked out of the store with a sore expression, as his plan to save a few coppers...ehh...dollars, had failed. "Mother of god. I am already obsessed." Jake thought, as he went to unlock his door. As he was unlocking his door, he spotted his neighbor who smiled and waved. His neighbor''s name was Amanda. She was gorgeous. She stood at a height of about 5''4'''' and had beautiful red hair...Not like those creepy looking gingers. No, Amanda''s hair complimented her perfectly. It was straight, and her bangs were swept to the side, revealing her beautiful light green eyes. She was slightly tanned for a redhead, and had a beautiful figure. Her chest wasn''t that big, but Jake preferred the smaller ones anyway. As he failed to return a smile, his eyes traced her body, from her head, straight to her a...NEVERMIND! Jake ran inside quickly, heart still racing. If there was an ideal dream girl for him, she would be the perfect example. Alas, the only thing he actually knew about her was her name, and he was too nervous to approach her or ask anything further. Still though, she always nonchalantly smiled and waved. As he got inside, he began smacking his head off of the wall. "STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!" He shouted in an embarrassed rage. "Oh well, not like I can change what has occurred." After eating a healthy meal of wheat thins, day old rice, and poptarts, Jake headed to the bathroom to take care of business before he got back to the game... Upon logging in, he checked the map the old codger gave him, and noticed his home was in a more secluded section of the city. "Well, best get to going." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Amanda was cracking up as she entered her apartment. "Same old Jake." She blared, in between her fits of laughter. "I wonder when he will start playing Royal Road...Maybe that will help him come out of his shell more." As if she was much different, she had only started playing a week prior to Jake. She had no idea he was playing, though. As Amanda said this, she finished logging in. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Oi, Old Man Horrick! Are you here?" Screamed Jake as he stopped at a building that looked like a warehouse. "Ah, so good of you to come." Replied Horrick, who was already behind Jake. "What the fu..What, How...WHEN DID YOU GET BEHIND ME?" Jake said. His shock had still not subsided. "Oh, that''s neither here nor there." Replied Horrick "Now, Let''s get you to work young man! Come! Follow me to my basement!" Said Horrick with a glint in his eyes. "What..You know...Old man, I''m not really into..." Jake started. "Oh shut up, you wise little shit, follow me." Snarked Horrick. As Jake followed Horrick, he was led into the warehouse, which had many tools of various sorts. There were axes, saws, knives, hammers, and all manner of other things. Jake was quite sure he was to be sexually assaulted, and then brutally tortured. As he walked through the warehouse, intricate woodwork and engravings caught his eye. It was beautiful. Further yet, a wooden staircase descended about thirty down feet into the ground. When the pair had reached the bottom, Jake''s eyes were filled with disbelief. A dense forest of trees covered about a square mile. "Old Man, how in Freya''s green earth did you grow all these trees down here?" Remarked Jake. "Those are my secrets, boy! Get your own secrets!" Snarked Horrick. Jake clicked his tongue, "Dodgy Old Man." He thought to himself, and yet he could still only stare in awe at the sight before him. "Now, boy, listen close! Take my axe! For two days, you shall chop as many trees down as you can. For two days, you shall clear branches and debris, and then cut the logs into 4 feet sections. For one day, you will carry all the logs upstairs to the workshop! On the last two days, I will instruct you further." Said Horrick.

Two more days, and jake had cleared the brush and chopped off any small brunches. After that, he neatly cut all the sections to four feet. "They are fancy fence posts...and I sell quite a lot. People like fences, Azrael." Stated Horrick in a rather hurt "Matter of Fact" tone. In game time, she had just finished her first month and was looking to enter the fray! She headed to the hunting grounds, but then realized she forgot something very important. Amanda was squishy, and had no combat ability. She had spent her first month cooped up in the library reading. She was so enticed with the history of this world that she could not stop. She became good friends with the librarian and ran a couple of tasks for her. This allowed her to buy food, and provided two level ups. The library was quite useful actually. She had managed to gain an impressive twenty five INT and twenty two WIS, not to mention the identification skill. This was great! However, it did not give her any value in combat. Essentially...Amanda was a leech. Her avatar, Vera, looked exactly as she did in real life. That was the one thing that made her life a little easier. Every noob and his brother was offering to recruit her into hunting parties, and even going so far as to try and invite her to their guilds. As they hunted, they would always attempt to show off to Amanda in various ways, and it was quite annoying. "They''re just slaughtering rabbits and foxes." Thought Amanda, as she was wondering why they would go to such lengths to try and impress her. "Oh well, I just stand here and still get my share of experience and loot." Shrugged Amanda. Upon finally reaching level ten, Amanda headed to the intelligence guild to receive insight on which class she should convert to. When Amanda reached the guild, she saw a huge marble building covered with ornate decorations. There were two guards standing at the front gate, and a slew of vines crawling their way around the marble pillars. It was a grand building. Amanda entered, and walked to the clerk attending the front desk. The man looked up and said, " Ah, Vera. We have been expecting you. Please take a seat at table thirteen and someone will be right with you." Amanda looked around to see if she was on camera or bugged, and then did what the man had said. Five minutes later, a rather plump man with a pig nose ambled his way over to her. He smelled...unique, and had a high pitched, raspy voice which did not fit his body at all. The man began to speak again, and Amanda blushed and started to pay attention. "Well Vera, we have checked your progress and found two classes which would fit your current level and abilities. The first would be a mage, and the second is an enchanter." Said the man. "I''m sure you know what a mage is, but an enchanter is special. Enchanters have magical abilities which are weaker than a mage''s, but they can confer temporary and permanent abilities and stats to items by channeling magic energies into them." Squeaked the man. Amanda was immediately sold on the idea of being an enchanter. Who would not want to make their own epic loot! Also, she could make a fortune... "Enchanter! I want to be an enchanter!" She exclaimed loudly before the pudgy man could finish. He tried to retain his composure as he said, "Right then, here are the directions to the Enchanter''s Guild. I will inform them you are on your way." Stated the man. "Thank you sir! Also, I don''t believe I ever got your name." Said Amanda. "Darp, my name is Darp." Stated "Darp" proudly. "Darp...Yes, a fine name...Quite fitting. Eh...Have a good day." Said Amanda, trying to stifle her laughter as she proceeded to walk out. "You as well." Said Darp, lethargically. Amanda hurriedly followed the map straight to the Enchanter''s guild. When inside, she immediately sought out the guild master. Upon finding him, he said, "Ah, good of you to come with such haste, Vera. My name is Erratus, and I am the guild master. Amanda was ecstatic. Just then, Erratus said, " You begin your enchanting classes tomorrow morning. You will be staying in the girl''s dorm, room number two hundred twelve. Welcome aboard." Erratus then returned to studying, and Amanda logged out to process everything. Chapter 1.3 - Child of the Beast Jake was thankful classes were finally over. He could now immerse himself in all his classmates'' conversations, but was still too scared to approach them. Even more so, they would probably get even more scared if he did approach them... "At least my eyes are less mean in real life. Never thought I''d be saying that." Chuckled Jake. "Still though, I should attempt to slowly work my way into talking to people and show them I am not scary." Sighed Jake. Jake was in his last year of college. He had gained most of his credits and luckily only had classes on Monday and Friday. "That decides it, I will spend all my time off attempting to converse in Royal Road! If my mean ass looking avatar can make friends, so can I!" Yelled Jake triumphantly. As Jake finally reached his home, he saw Amanda starting to come out of her front door, so he hurried inside like the roach he is. Amanda let out a chuckle and headed down the street. "I need to start at least greeting her." Sighed Jake. Jake finally felt like doing some real cooking today! Thus, he began to boil some water. After the water was boiling, he poured it into his cup of ramen... "Ah, it''s nice to have a hot meal." Said Jake... (Such a sad, sad man...) After attending to his needs, Jake hopped in the capsule. Upon logging back in, Jake was at a loss for what to do. He was back to square one...Sitting on the fountain in front of the training hall, chewing a rock. "What am I going to do for the last three weeks?" Thought Jake as he checked to see if his teeth were still intact. Shortly thereafter, he pulled out the wooden sword and was surprised that he could heft it with ease and no longer had to drag it! It was then he recalled he gained a good amount of stats working for the shifty codger! Jake then started swinging the sword excitedly. "It feels so light now! Thanks Horrick, you weird ol'' bast..." Jake started. "Oi, you!" Yelled a nearby guard. As Jake was reveling in his progress, he was approached by the same guard from the first week. "You better stop swinging around that piece of crap in the streets like an idiot, or I''ll have you fined and and jailed." Stated the guard, in an angry tone. "Yes sir..." Said Jake apologetically. Jake sat back on the fountain, mood turned to crap. "That guard must be following me..." Said Jake in a paranoid tone. As Jake sat, he was once again approached by a shady cloaked figure. "Sir I simply wish to relax, please leave me alone" Said Jake, with a feeling of D¨¦j¨¤ vu. Upon further inspection, Jake could tell that the cloaked figure was a young boy of around eleven or twelve years of age. No...This boy was something different, something ominous. He had snow white hair, and pale red eyes. His face showed no emotion and he exuded a killing intent that almost made Jake add a couple ounces of liquid to the fountain. On the boy''s back was a sword taller than Jake. It was more an iron slab than a sword, except it was jet black and covered in runes. "What...are you?" Jake finally managed to get out. The boy replied, "There are forces in this world that should not be sought, I am one who seeks them. We seek them." "Ehh...Forces? We? We who?" Said Jake. "That is for another time. I saw you at Horrick''s and thought you had potential. I simply wish to extend to you a trial." Stated the boy. "Damn it! More crap from Horrick! I should have known. Wait! Why does that codger know a kid your age? This just doesn''t add up!" "My name is Auruk. Will you take my trial, or not?" Stated Auruk, without emotion. T-ting

You have accepted the quest.
Auruk nodded and said, "Good, let us get started immediately. Follow me." As Jake followed Auruk, he was led into a less than appealing part of town. There was a wide assortment of ramshackle buildings, coupled with seedy characters wherever you looked. "Eh...Auruk, are you sure we are going the right way? Said Jake. Auruk did not respond. "Are...Are you going to mug me?" Stammered Jake. Auruk still said nothing. As Jake grew more paranoid by the second, the pair stopped at a poorly constructed old building. Approaching the door, Auruk simply waved his hand and muttered. The door creaked open without assistance, and inside was a clean white space. "What the hell do you call this? Spatial distortion? I don''t even..." Said Jake, as he stared in awe. His view was met with a spotless marble floor and giant pillars. Each pillar was etched with a different beast, and there was various training stations and rings wherever you looked. "This is my personal training area. We must get your body and spirit into shape." Said Auruk...With as little emotion as usual. "Well...I suppose that sounds fine. I do love progressing...I suppose." Said Jake with a slightly worried tone. "Then, let us begin." Said Auruk. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit. For the next four weeks, Jake could hardly keep up. His schedule consisted of two handed sword training, normal physical training, and sharpening his reflexes. The hours of constant fighting had blessed him with a new skill, and a new stat as well.
New Skill: Two Handed Sword Mastery - Beginner 1 - 17%
Increased damage and speed with a two handed sword. +10% DMG +3% SPD
New Stat: Fighting Spirit You can call on superhuman strength temporarily, or bring weaker monsters to their knees with a force in your eyes alone. You are prohibited from distributing stat bonus points to this stat, and it rises spontaneously, depending on the avatar¡¯s action, especially if you fight monsters for a long time, or often confront monsters stronger than your current level.
When Jake finally finished the arduous task, he had gained a staggering 34 STR, 28 AGI, 24 VIT, 34 Stamina, and 22 Fighting Spirit. His two handed sword mastery also saw a significant rise.
Two Handed Sword Mastery - Beginner 4 - 72%
Increased damage and speed with a two handed sword. +40% DMG +12% SPD
The four weeks were definitely hell, but they were also definitely worth it. Auruk gave a nod of approval and said, "You have done well. I understand this was not easy for one as weak as yourself." "I AM NOT WEAK!" Screamed Jake. "Yes, now you are not. Thanks to me." Said Auruk, With the closest thing to a smile Jake has ever seen on the creepy little ba...nevermind. "For completing the training, I gift you with this sword. It was the first sword I used when I started training. Also, here is the map to where you will take part in your trial." Stated Auruk proudly.

Jake was impressed by the sword. It was immensely better than the wooden one. The true test was...well...could he lift it. Jake hoisted the sword into the air with ease, and almost drooled over the sound it made slicing through the air. After he was done goofing off, Auruk approached him once more. "Here''s the map to the location of the trial. It''s about five days on foot. Good luck over the next month. If you succeed, you will find me here. If you fail, it will be like I never existed. Once again, good luck." Auruk said, as he ushered Jake out. "Okay...recap...I am level three, with a class C quest...I myself am classless and lacking the bonuses that come with one, and I gained an insane amount of stats by busting my ass...I wonder if this is a normal experience for most players? I sure hope I can finish the quest though...otherwise all will be for naught..." Pondered Jake, as he walked down the street. "Stats!" Jake yelled.

"Well now, I look to be in pretty good shape! Unless, of course, I wanted to be a mage...Nah...Screw those squishies. Huzzah, who''s weak now!" Proclaimed Jake, as he walked through the seedy area once more. Except now, none of the seedy street urchins looked at him as prey, but as the hunter. Jake had finally made his way to the front gate, and was quivering with excitement as he was about to take his first steps out of the town. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 1.4 - Pop Goes the Rabbit *I am going to start calling Jake "Azrael" when in game to increase immersion, even when he is alone. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Azrael stood at the town gates, and a new wave of excitement began to overtake him. Finally, he would embark on crazy adventures, and make a name for himself. However, the sight before him was sad, and he came to a sudden realization. "The monsters in this world must be tough." Thought Azrael, as he watched hordes of bunnies and foxes pummeling groups of noobs. Parties of four to five were quivering in fear as they attempted to bait one fox for five people to beat upon. Five people...were struggling to kill a single fox. Azrael still could not seem to get over this fact... It was a massacre. Not the bunnies and foxes, mind you. No, the noobs were getting their asses handed to them, especially when they accidentally pulled more than one monster. Azrael walked over to a bunny, exerting a strong intent to kill. As Azrael looked down upon the bunny, it looked at him. The bunny felt his aura and knew what stood before him. It was then the rabbit came to a sudden realization. The bunny could only shudder in fear as it accepted its inevitable demise. Azrael then lifted his leg, in hopes that he could smash the bunny''s spine and end it quickly. He was, after all, an animal lover. He then brought down his leg with as much force as he could muster. BOOM!
Critical Hit!
Azrael''s mouth was open in terror at the sight before him. The whole battlefield, man and monster alike, stopped to look at him. Where his foot had landed, there was an indent in the earth filled with what remained of the bunny. The rest of the bunny seemed to explode all over Azrael... The shock wave had extended a good five feet, and knocked a couple of the other rabbits over as well. Azrael was stunned and was muttering words no one seemed to understand. He wiped as much bunny off of himself as he could, and then he heard two dings.
You have gained 2 Fighting Spirit.
New Skill: Stomp
Azrael could only keep looking in terror at the sight before him. As he regained his senses he yelled, "Check Skill: Stomp."
Stomp - Beginner 1 - 7%
By calling upon all your energy, you can stomp the ground with tremendous force. Deals Str * (.5) damage 5 foot AOE at 1/2 initial damage Chance to stun/knockdown Mana Cost: 100
As he was doing this, people in the area kind of just sat down...To process what had just happened. Safe to say, most bunnies had also vacated the area. Azrael then proceeded to slay bunnies mercilessly, and quickly realized they were no challenge. He then moved to foxes. "Wow, I must really thank the codger and the creepy kid." Thought Azrael, as he stomped everything around him. Azrael finally pulled out his sword, and it sliced through the air with the satisfying sound he was accustomed to. He had been so busy stomping around like godzilla trying to raise his mastery, that he had almost forgot he even owned a sword. He had hoped that his prior show of strength would encourage people to approach him for partying purposes so he could make some friends. Alas, his merciless acts, the exploding rabbit, and his mean eyes caused most adventurers to stay even further away from him. Some even went so far as to go to a different area... As Azrael carved through hordes of foxes and rabbits, he had gained two levels in Stomp, and one in 2h Sword Mastery. By then, the sun had started to fall, and the moon began to rise. Azrael then saw hordes of noobs running with haste to the town gates. Azrael knew of the dangers night brought, and prepared himself. Azrael caught his first sign of a wolf not long after. "Oh great, I was prepared for beefed up foxes and rabbits, not a damn wolf!" Yelled Azrael as he adopted a low stance. The beast was manged and coated with dry blood, and its teeth were sharp and yellowed. It''s eyes were the same disgusting yellow as its teeth, and it was foaming at the mouth as it snarled. As the two circled each other, the wolf finally took the initiative and lunged straight for Azrael''s throat. Azrael quickly sidestepped as the wolf rolled past, and made a taunting gesture in triumph. The wolf, however, seems to understand the meaning that the finger held, and came at him with even more ferocity. Azrael prepared himself as the wolf drew near once more, and raised his leg. When the creature was about two feet from him, he dropped his leg and yelled, "Stomp!" The wolf yelped and went down. Azrael wasted no time in rushing to the slumped figure, and swung his blade down heavily. The wolf rolled to dodge, and the sword landed deep in the earth. As Azrael was recovering, the wolf jumped again and got Azrael''s leg good.

Azrael then realized the wolves were in a whole different world compared to the previous enemies, not to mention their 50% buff at night...He would now take on the wolf seriously. Support the creativity of authors by visiting Royal Road for this novel and more. Azrael adopted a new stance, and began to continue clashing with the wolf. The wolf lunged once more, and Azrael dodged while bringing his sword down. He clipped the wolf''s leg, and its movement slowed slightly. The wolf howled in pain and shot at Azrael. It clipped his hand, dealing another fifty damage. It immediately came in for another attack. Azrael rolled deftly on the ground, and then swung his sword. The sword landed directly in the wolf''s mouth, and cleaved clean through to the other end of its body.

"Nice, another excellent skill...especially since I don''t happen to own a single piece of armor." Muttered Azrael. Azrael then looked down, and noticed his sword was forming a crack. It was then he brushed himself off, and decided it was time to take a break. It was a quite successful first hunt. Azrael gained two new stats, two skills, a lot of mastery, and twelve points of fighting spirit, although that stat seemed pretty useless at the moment... He had also gained quite a fair amount of loot, and risen to level eleven. "All day fighting the hordes of chaos, and I only gained eight levels?" Scoffed Azrael. As he returned to town, he found a local merchant and peddled his spoils. He had managed to obtain a sum of 62 silver and 17 copper. He also bought a full set of leather armor from the man, leaving him with 32 silver. "I''ll get some good, strong armor one day, but this will do for now." Said Azrael, pleased with his purchase. Azrael then headed to a local smithy in order to have his weapon repaired. When he arrived, the smell of fire was strong, and the heat was near unbearable. The man running the establishment was tapping a piece of metal rhythmically. *Clang. Clang. Clang.* The man stopped and looked up. A wide grin was visible on his face. "Welcome to Holstrom''s Smithery! Best metal work in the land! What can I do for you today, sir?" Said Holstrom, in a boisterous manner. "Sir, after a long day of fighting my blade is exhausted and could use a master''s touch. I have heard that you are the finest blacksmith in the land, and come to witness your prowess." Stated Azrael, in his nicest tone. Azrael had taken to kiss-assery after he realized his eyes gave him negative standing with most npcs....Even if they didn''t know him beforehand. After he found out how useful a few well placed words could be during a few occasions, he simply kept the compliments flowing. Holstrom was wearing a large smile and said, "Aye lad, let me see your blade." Azrael then handed his sword over to Holstrom. His smile disappeared as he grimaced over the condition of the blade. "Good god son! What did you do with this blade? Cleave the earth?" Screamed Holstrom, in angst over the sword''s present state. "Uhh...No...I simply fought all day." Stated Azrael, knowing full well he did accidentally strike the ground a couple times by mistake... "Well...I''ll fix this for 5 silver. I won''t go no lower! This is going to take a lot of effort, boy!" Said Holstrom. Azrael sighed, and quickly accepted. Holstrom then got to work. It had taken him quite a while to repair the sword to its former glory after what Azrael had put it through. When the work was finally completed, he returned the blade to Azrael. "Son, it saddens me deeply to see a blade in that state. I wish to never look upon a sword as fine as this in a similar state again. If you pay me 15 silver I will teach you the basics of repair and give you the basic tools." Stated Holstrom. Azrael quickly accepted his offer, and spent the next two hours learning the basics of repair.
New Skill: Repair
New Item: Basic Blacksmith''s Tools
"Thank you sir. It does my heart well knowing I now have the knowledge to properly maintain my sword." Said Azrael with a grin. "Aye lad, every adventurer should be able to take care of their weapon." Nodded Holstrom. The two then said their goodbyes, and Azrael made his way back to the market. He then purchased some rations and other basic supplies that he would need for his journey with his remaining funds. Jake then logged out, and figured he would get some rest and food before starting his journey in the morning. Chapter 1.4.5 - Amanda II "And that is why you are stripped of your profession, and hereby banished from the Enchanter''s Guild, Vera." Proclaimed Erratus. One Week Earlier. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vera had finally started classes at the Enchanter''s Guild, and was learning everything very quickly. She was so glad that she chose to be an enchanter over a normal mage. It was truly exciting every time she imbued new properties into an item. There were, however, three rules in the guild.
  • Never try to enchant a living being.
  • Never use a forbidden(Unholy) enchantment.
  • Never steal from the guild.
Never the less, these would not be broken by Vera. She saw herself as a good girl. That was, however, until the class had lessons on how powerful the forbidden enchantments were, and why they were banned. Upon hearing the information, Vera headed straight to the library one night. She had busted the lock by making a small blade with mana on her index finger, and cut through it. She proceeded to do the same thing on the forbidden section''s lock. Upon entering, she took a couple of books on the forbidden enchantments... Upon leaving, she re-attached the locks with a tiny bit of flame magic. The next day after classes she read the notes, which pertained to permanently berserk-ing living creatures. After hiding in a shaded section of the court yard, she pulled out a rat and spoke softly, "Enchant." As she finished, the rat turned a slight red, and it''s fur grew about one inch longer. Its fangs become longer and its eyes went bloodshot. The rat then climbed a tree at a ludicrous speed and started murdering a whole family of birds. "Oh shi..." Exclaimed Vera, as she shot a small ball of fire at the rat, which then died. As she was marveling at her handiwork, she was forcefully pushed to the ground and mana-cuffed. "Hey! What are you doing!" Shouted Vera. She was then thrown in a dungeon for five days, to await trial. When the day of the trial came, she stood before Erratus, who said: "Vera, you have broken my heart. The library was guarded with observation magic, and we have seen the acts you committed. After further inspection of the rat we found when you were arrested, we have also confirmed you have enchanted the living being...using forbidden enchantments no less. You had such great potential, why would you do this?" Said Erratus. This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it. "It seemed interesting..." Said Vera softly... "INTERESTING? YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW WICKED THE DARK POWERS ARE...WE HAVE THREE RULES, AND YOU HAVE BROKEN THEM ALL." Bellowed Erratus. He then regained his composure. "You have broken all of our rules, And that is why you are stripped of your profession, and hereby banished from the Enchanter''s Guild, Vera." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ For a whole day, Vera sat outside in the rain crying. Until finally, she was approached by a shifty looking old woman. The old woman looked at her and said, "Don''t dwell on it too hard dear. Those close-minded people simply do not understand the glory of the lost arts." Vera was confused, how did this woman know about her current state of affairs? "Don''t worry about that either, dear...I simply come with a proposition." Said the woman. "Wha...could this woman read minds?" Thought Vera. "Slightly dear, it comes with age. Now then, I know the path you walk, and it is not easy. I come to offer my help, as someone who also tried to attain power and was rejected by society, will you hear my offer?" Said the woman. Vera could only nod, still wiping her tears. "Excellent, my name is Tessa, and I shall reforge you anew. If you will allow me. Tee hee hee." Chuckled the old lady with a malicious smile. T-ting

"Excellent." Grinned Tessa, as she beckoned Vera to follow... Chapter 1.5 - On the Road Azrael once again stepped out of the town onto the beaten dirt path. His gaze was met with the familiar sight of noobs attempting to do battle with the hordes of chaos. (Bunnies and Foxes) He hastily followed the map provided by Auruk, and was soon surrounded by dense forests on both sides. All manner of woodland creatures frolicked to and fro around him, and he was truly at peace. "Travelling is indeed a good thing." Thought Azrael, while wearing a gentle smile. As Azrael journeyed further, he was taken aback at the beauty of this world. Various ruins and other areas of interest started to appear all around him, and he made sure to jot them down on the map so that he may return later for some dungeon delving and exploration! Night quickly fell, and he once again heard the familiar howl of wolves in the distance. It was then he knew that he would not be resting much on this journey. Before he could dwell further on his thoughts, he was surrounded. The wolves gave him no time to draw his sword, and jumped at his face. Azrael quickly smashed the ground with his "leg of power", and yelled, "Stomp!" The area under his leg indented slightly, and a small, orange wave of force expanded from the area of impact. A couple of the wolves tripped, and a few were stunned. Azrael''s intent to slaughter further scared the wolves, and it was then that Azrael quickly drew his blade. As the wolves began to rise, Azrael dashed forward with a mad grin on his face. He then brought his blade down through the first one, and quickly pulled it out with a sickening sound. It yelped as it turned grey. Blood rained down upon all spectators, and Azrael grinned menacingly. The five remaining wolves felt his killing intent, and stepped back for a second. After calming themselves they attacked together, and became a whirlwind of teeth and claw. Azrael dodged, swung, rolled, and repeated until finally all the wolves collapsed. Azrael noticed he only had ten percent remaining health when he heard two dings.

"Nice! Note to self though - Do NOT fight groups of stronger enemies at night while alone yet..." Mumbled Azrael as he began to rest. The rest of his nights became progressively harder as he neared his destination, and by the time he had reached the area of the trial he was physically and mentally exhausted. "As to be expect of a C rank quest." Huffed Azrael as he set up a small camp. Although the journey was taxing he had gained three levels and a decent amount of mastery, not to mention some fighting spirit, sustenance, and endurance. The loot was pretty much useless though...A bunch of fur he couldn''t use, and raw meat. He attempted to cook the meat, but only ended up with charred black lumps of matter. "Well, I wish I could hire a chef to come along with me..." Thought Azrael, as he once again returned to chewing the rock bread. He spent the rest of the night relaxing and getting some good sleep. This night at least he was uninterrupted. In the morning, Azrael headed into the ruins. As he walked into the ancient corridor many torches sprung to life , likely imbued with some sort of spell. The air was musty, and this place had likely not seen a human for quite a long time. "What kind of monster was Auruk to enter this place as young as he was?" Mumbled Azrael, as he delved deeper into the ruins. The inside was of the finest marble, and ornately decorated. Like Auruk''s training hall, it consisted of paintings and carvings of mighty beasts. Although, in its current state it wasn''t much to look like. It was overgrown with weeds, and destroyed in most areas. Azrael heard odd sounds here and there as he made his way into the depths, but caught no signs of anything suspicious. Finally, as he neared a corner, he could hear a beast and knew a battle drew close. He was shaking slightly, this place was off. Something about these ruins just didn''t sit right with him. As he was lost in thought, he then heard a deafening roar. As he was wondering what the source of the roar could be, around the corner tiptoed a beast that was about the size of a small horse. It had soft tan fur, and a great ring of hair around its head. "Oh great...Lions, this place contains lions..." Stuttered Azrael, as he drew his sword. Lions were not a very hard monster in Royal Road, but were at least twenty to thirty levels higher than Azrael. Simply one or two well placed hits from the beast would easily send Azrael on a one way trip back to reality for a day. If he faced a group of these beasts, he would be slain with haste, hence he had to be cautious. As the lion drew close, Azrael took a back stepped and tripped as he heard an unfamiliar *click* noise. He tripped and fell down. As he did, he saw three arrows fly above his head and *thwack* the other wall. "Oh great...there''s deadly traps as well. Fantastic." Stammered Azrael. He had yet to even begin fighting, and his morale began to plunge. This task seemed impossible. As the lion was almost upon him, Azrael took a low stance and awaited the beast''s attack. As the lion pounced, he tumbled. It deftly turned and began to slash at him. He barely managed to tumble to safety a second time. "Shit! I''m screwed, this thing is fast!" Thought Azrael, as he barely managed to dodge another two attacks. As the lion came again, Azrael tried something new. He feinted and pretended to start attacking. As the lion moved to dodge it was too late. Azrael spun a full 360* and cleaved the lion with a hellish strength. The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

"Yes!" Thought Azrael, as the lion stood up. "Uh oh..." He thought. The lion roared, but immediately sat down again. Its leg was maimed. It could only look fierce, but it knew the game was done. Azrael grinned the Devil''s grin once more, and walked to the beast. It growled at his approach. "Let''s see how you like successive attacks, you overgrown tabby." Screamed Azrael. Now, being the animal lover Azrael was, he swung down repeatedly to end the beast''s life peacefully.

"*Cough* I May have overdone it a bit..." Said Azrael, as he wiped himself clean and proceeded to pick up the loot. Luckily his inflated stats and training leveled the playing field, but just as he was celebrating his victory over the beast, two more appeared around the corner... "Ugh...This is going to be hell..." Sighed Azrael, as he prepared himself. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 3 weeks later Azrael had slain countless beasts, and avoided numerous traps. In these three weeks, his level had risen by 12. From all the fighting, he had gained two levels in sword mastery, two levels in tumble, and one level in stomp. After repairing his equipment countless times, even handicraft and repair had risen by one and two, respectively. From taking so many hits, he had also gained at least 13 in endurance, and from the constant fighting, he had risen 20 points in fighting spirit, and 10 in sustenance. Azrael was sad, as overall, his ability to dodge and take hits increased, but his overall ability to deal damage was still quite low. Not to mention the constant repairing had lowered the max durability of his blade considerably. It would seem the longer this expedition went on, the more worn out and useless his gear became. He felt his class was gearing more towards a punching bag, rather than a damage dealer. After distributing all the stat points he had saved up, Azrael checked his stats. "Stats!" Exclaimed Azrael.

"Not bad, not bad...To truly take advantage of the stat bonuses I received, I will need to get a class though. I am simply just surviving longer at this point." Thought Azrael. As Azrael was thinking, he had finally arrived at a large set of ornate iron doors. "Screw that, I am resting before entering there. God only knows what''s on the other side!" Thought Azrael. He then sat down, and ate the best of the food he had brought. Tasteless soup. But it was worlds above rock bread! It slid down the throat with ease, and even conferred minor health and mana bonuses! As he opened the doors, he took a deep breath and began to look around. Chapter 1.6 - Clash of Titans As Azrael peered into the room, his eyes were met with pure darkness. Slowly, he took a step inside, and his eyes began to adjust. As he took a few more steps, the doors behind him slammed shut of their own accord. "Shit..." Thought Azrael, as all the torches blazed on in a circular pattern. The room itself looked liked a coliseum. There were twenty four great marble pillars aligned in a giant circle. The pillars were all fitted at the top with a glowing red orb, for lighting purposes most likely. All around seats rose as if spectators would be watching an event. The only other doors in the room were a matching pair of giant iron doors on the other side of the stadium. The floor was an old type of sandstone, and intricately carved. As usual, multiple beasts adorned all the pillars. "This looks promising..." Thought Azrael, as he wondered how he was going to be lacerated today. As Azrael was lost in thought, he started hearing "poof" noises. As he looked around, all the spectator seats began to fill with extremely large men and women. The only problem was...they were ghosts... "Oh Freya, please tell me I don''t have to fight all those ghosts...Is it even possible to fight ghosts?" Pondered Azrael, as they began to chatter among themselves. "Oh look...fresh meat." "Do you think he can?" "Surely he shall fall like the others." "He looks weak." "I DO NOT LOOK WEAK DAMN IT!" Screamed Azrael. As he was yelling at the thousands of spectral spectators, the iron doors across from him began to slowly open. "Ehh...Well...Maybe it''s a door to door salesman." Hoped Azrael. Through the doors walked a figure so large, he had to crouch through them. He must have been eight or nine feet tall. He was pure muscle, and dual wielded two handed axes. The only problem was...well...he was half lion. The figure had a great, brown mane, and tufts of hair on his hands and feet. His eyes were feline in nature, and of the most demonic red. He also had a set of wicked teeth that protruded from his mouth. As for his equipment, he wore a roman cuirass, and the matching leather skirt. He was a model gladiator, save for the hole in the back of the skirt to allow his tail freedom of movement. "Mother of god." Muttered Azrael, as his life flashed before his eyes. Then, from seemingly nowhere, he heard a voice. "Ladies and Gentlemen! A special day in history is upon us once again! Today, we see if we have ourselves a man worthy of entry, or simply just another play toy for the guardian!" Stated the unknown voice. "WHAT...Play toy? Entry to what? I...I love animals." Stammered Azrael. The voice ignored him and went on, "Standing in the champion''s corner, we have the guardian of trial, Ozmodeen! Standing in the corner of attempt, we have Azrael, the weak!" "How do you know my name, damn it! I AM NOT WEAK YOU SUNNOVA..." Screamed Azrael. Before he could finish, he heard, "Prove it - Begin!" "WHAT?" Screamed Azrael, as Ozmodeen dashed forward like lightning. Azrael frantically drew his blade, and saw Ozmodeen cross his axes. As he uncrossed them, a blade of red light in the shape of a long horizontal crescent shot forward. "Ermagherd!" Screamed Azrael, as he ducked. The blade made contact with one of the pillars behind Azrael and cleaved it into two perfect halves. As the pillar descended onto the ground, the crowd was in an uproar. The half-beast then roared, and Azrael was shaken. He had never been in a more depressing situation in his life. Ozmodeen then dashed forward and swung his axes. Azrael barely blocked in time, but managed to at the last second. The sheer power overwhelmed him, and he was sent flying into another piller.

At the area of impact, the pillar was cracked. Azrael spit blood as he used his sword as support to stand up. "What the hell! I lost almost one quarter of my hp just blocking!" Huffed Azrael. Ozmodeen then rushed again, and Azrael yelled, "Stomp!" The lion gave a toothy grin, as he was unaffected. What occurred then was a blur. The two crossed blades for at least fifteen minutes, and Azrael was getting the short end of the stick. He was sticking at 60% health, but things grew more grim the longer the battle raged. Every attempt Azrael made to attack, the beast counter attacked while blocking with one of the two handed axes. Azrael, on the other hand, could hardly block the two gigantic axes in time at all. "Damn it, Unicorn! Are you listening? This beast is too OP!!" Shouted Azrael, as he was reminding himself to file a letter of complaint. He then distanced himself from Ozmodeen. The beast once again crossed his axes, and shot the wave. This time as it hit another pillar, Azrael was watching. He saw the beast cringe in pain momentarily as the second pillar collapsed. "Ah...every boss has a catch, eh Unicorn?" Said Azrael, as he smiled wryly. He spent the next half hour dodging, kiting, and getting the mighty foe to shoot towards pillars, until finally none remained. Azrael''s health reached 35%. As the last pillar fell, a white light emanated from Ozmodeen, and then dissipated. It was then Azrael attacked. He dashed as fast as he could at the beast, no longer caring for his own safety. As he drew near, he jumped in the air and tried something new. He yelled, "Double Stomp!" He smashed both his legs into the ground, which quaked. Even Ozmodeen was thrown off balance temporarily, and the stadium roared! Azrael did not waste this moment, and swung horizontally at the beast. It blocked with both its axes, and Azrael lifted Ozmodeen up by locking his sword under the two axes. He then swung the beast into the wall as hard as he could.
Critical!
Ozmodeen still held strong, so Azrael did it twice more.
Critical!
Critical!
Finally, the lion-man showed signs of fear, and roared in pain. He then kicked Azrael with all his leg strength. Azrael flew backwards once more, but landed with minimal damage due to a well timed tumble. He was at 30%. Ozmodeen roared again in fury, and crossed and uncrossed his axes rapidly. The barrage of red energy waves were just barely dodged by Azrael, and managed to rip his clothes due to being so close. The final one he could not dodge, and attempted to block. He was blown back once more, and attempted to tumble to lessen the blow. With 15% health remaining, he knew that this would need to end quickly. He dashed towards Ozmodeen once more, and lifted his leg to stomp. The beast readied itself for the quake. It was a feint. Azrael performed a full 360* turn, and used his whole body to slam the beast with his sword. It roared as it was slammed into the wall again. Support the creativity of authors by visiting Royal Road for this novel and more. It was sitting on the ground against the wall, and before it could attempt to rise once more, Azrael ran over and did a spinning back kick. Right before his foot landed he yelled, "Stomp!"
Critical!
He had stomped the lion''s head between his foot and the wall...It was a direct hit, and the tremendous force put an end to the fight in a messy manner...

"No loot? What a load of..." Screamed Azrael. Before he could finish, the crowd went berserk. Cheers and clapping resounded throughout the coliseum. "Amazing! The guardian has fallen! Brutality, honor, and courage! True virtues of a warrior! New champion, enter the guardian''s doors and claim your trophy!" Azrael scraped matter off of his boot...and then proceeded nonchalantly to the doors. When he entered the room, the doors shut and the coliseum could no longer be heard. The room was a perfect square of blank white space. All that sat in the room was an old lectern with a thick, leather bound book on it. Azrael approached the book cautiously. As soon as he realized there were no traps, he walked up and read the cover. The book read "Rite of the Slayer." Azrael immediately opened it. "O ye of mighty strength. One who hath passed our trial, and proven ye self worthy. This is the oath of old, the rite of the slayer. As ye hath triumphed over one of us, we shall offer ye the oath to become one of us. Imparted in this book is the knowledge needed to become an Oath-Bound Slayer. If ye accept, thou may never change your decision, as thou will become one bound by the oath as well. If ye accept, take this book, and with it, our knowledge." *ting*

"Epic melee class obtained. Squishies beware." Laughed Azriel maniacally. "Wow...There''s a lot of downsides though...I''m going to be pretty squishy too...and I can never switch up my weapon for a defense build. Why do the elves hate me? What the hell..." Stated Azrael, slightly hurt. Azrael then started heading back to town. Chapter 1.7 - Two Fall This Day: Part One As Azrael returned to town, he was greeted once more by the familiar site of woodland creatures. He smiled as he reminisced of his first adventure outside of the gates. The bunnies remembered as well, as they all seemed to clear a path for him. Azrael laughed and said, "Mwahaha, bow down rabbits." To this day, he swears he actually saw a couple bow. Upon finally getting through the gates, he slammed his fist against his chest and hailed the guard in jest, who in turn welcomed him back from whatever journey he was on. "Weird...It seems like the guards at least respect me a little bit now that I have garnered some strength." Stated Azrael proudly Azrael held onto his japtem for now, as he could finally learn a couple craft skills. He was slighty bummed out at the fact that he could not learn other craft skills though. As he walked through the shady area to Auruk''s training hall, it seemed devoid of urchins and thugs. It was odd for the seedy area, but Azrael shrugged as he walked to the doors. Little did he know, the thugs were hiding from him because they knew what kind of monster he had become. He was one like Auruk, and the thugs knew the meaning behind that. After three sturdy knocks, Auruk opened the door. Devoid of emotion, he beckoned Azrael to sit in his makeshift kitchen, and began preparing some sort of lightly scented tea. "You look like you''ve had a time of it. I was sure you would die." Stated Auruk, without emotion, as per the usual. "Thank you for your concern, but I am very much alive, and here is the item I was asked to retrieve." Mumbled Azrael, in a disheartened tone. As Azrael tried to hand over the book, Auruk said, "Keep it, that is yours now. All of your truly impressive feats of slaying will automatically record in it, along with your stat bonuses. That book is soul-bound, and will never drop from your body." "Indeed, it would seem you have passed the trial. You are truly one of us now. Know that this is just the beginning, and all of us have defeated the guardian. The rest of the journey will be sculpted based upon your deeds. There is no direction for us, we explore as we see fit, and slay what we deem necessary. That is what will mold your destiny. You can never abandon this path, and you will be shunned by some. Welcome, Brother." Stated Auruk proudly. t-ting

Azrael said, "Check Item! Slayer Blade."
Slayer Blade
Durability40/40
Damage1-3
A two handed sword as unique as the owner. Your actions and accomplishments will forge this blade. As it stands, it is currently useless.
Requires: Nothing
"This sword blows! It only has high durability!" Screamed Azrael. "That is why you gained the two craft skills. Did you not find it odd that a melee oriented class can learn even two craft skills to master? There is one reason. Those of the Oath take pride in showing what they kill, and using it to strengthen themselves. The Slayer blade has many sockets and unfinished areas where you can mold, forge, and place parts of the beasts you kill. Doing so, you can reforge the blade infinitely to confer new bonuses and grow as you do. The blade, as it stands, is much weaker than the old sword I gave you. Just like your path, your sword will also be forged by your deeds. Remain weak, or work to make yourself and your blade strong. For the same reason, tailoring can also be used to refine mighty beast hides into suitable battle garb as well. It is up to you how, when, and where you acquire those skills though." Stated Auruk. "Seeing how badly you got whipped, I have one more thing for you. It seems you need it more than I..." Said Auruk, in a mocking tone. Azrael turned red, and then took the item.

"Welcome to the Oath-bound, Brother. If you ever need help, do not hesitate to ask. You are currently Brother number twelve in the whole continent. Those of religion will also shun you, for we worship no god. Do not worry though, they will not be openly hostile unless provoked." As he said this, Azrael''s hair turned white, and his eyes grew a pale red as well. Azrael was ecstatic, and thanked Auruk over and over, to which Auruk just blinked. "Yes, well, may your travels bring you strength, young Brother. Off you go." Said Auruk, as he pushed Azrael out. Azrael then returned to the town, and realized his mean eyes turned red, and his hair turned white.Of course this meant he became even more menacing. People on the street parted naturally for him as he walked, and women ran with their children into their homes. He looked like a demon, with a hulking blade on his back. "Things just keep getting better, don''t they." Azrael Sighed. He then used the skill book to learn the bandage skill, and decided to go outside the town and try and raise all his new skill''s mastery levels on the low level creatures. As he walked into the woods, he spotted a rabbit a few meters away. he unsheathed his blade and took a stance. He then slashed and yelled, "Blade wave." The energy wave traveled over the rabbit, which had feinted, and through a tree in front of him. The tree was sliced in half.
Critical Hit!
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. "Cool!...Wait, How did I get a critical hit on a tree?" Thought Azrael, as the tree fell. That was, until he saw that with the tree...a noob was also cleaved in half. "Shit." He thought, as his name turned red, and a blood red diamond appeared. Every noob suddenly stopped, and stared directly at him. It was the most ominous thing he had ever witnessed. Azrael then began to run like hell. On his rear, was a horde of noobs. Chasing with weapons drawn. Stray arrows and magic spells whizzed past his head. "It was an accident, I was trying a skill!" He yelled. But no one listened, as they all saw experience and items from killing the pker. He turned to look back at the crowd, and grinned. He was getting away due to his high agility. "Haha! Behold noobs, you shall never catch the great Azrael!" He laughed. As he turned back, his eyes saw only bark and leaves. BANG! Azrael banged headfirst into the tree. As he looked up from the ground, he was impaled by one hundred hate filled noobs.
You have died.
He was ejected from the game for twenty four hours. That was the day he added a second enemy to his list besides all of the AI...the noobs. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vera had just finished her training with the old woman, and was ecstatic. She went to Tessa''s room as per her instruction. Over the course of Vera''s training she dabbled in dark arts, learned a few forbidden enchantments, and a couple other weird skills. Upon completing the quest, she leveled up once, and then Tessa spoke. Dear, you have made me proud over these few weeks. The truth is, I am dying. "This class was very powerful..." Thought Vera as she read down the list. "Finally the downsides appear...No armor...Only blade-staves...I can only use dark magic...HUNTED BY THE CHURCH?? What does that even mean? No fame? How am I supposed to quest? DOUBLE INFAMY? I-I ca-I can be KILLED WITHOUT PENALTY??" Screamed Vera. She no longer wanted the class. Despite its power, it was suicide. Tessa laughed a bit, and said, "Ohoho, you will get used to it dear, I did." "You tricked me into a suicidal class you crazy old wench!" Screamed Vera, once more. "Oh, come now dear, calm down. The power you shall gain will be immense. Trust me. I have two more gifts for you. "WHATTT?" Screamed Vera again, as she began to rip out her hair. *BOOM BOOM BOOM* Just then, the door was being pounded upon. "Open the door! We of the Holy Order of Freya know that Vera is inside! We have come to deliver divine punishment!" Stated an unknown man. "Oh my god! This isn''t happening! Thought Vera. Just as she turned to run, the door blasted open. Confronting her were five well armed paladins in silver armor bearing the symbol of Freya. Before she could even step one foot in the opposite direction, Vera heard, "Holy Bolt!" Just like that, she was ejected from the game for twenty four hours. Tessa laughed, "Be reborn again as your new self foreigner, and seek the unholy." Tessa then headed to Horrick''s for a spot of tea. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Bullshit!" Yelled Amanda, as she began to throw a tantrum akin to that of a five year old''s. This book''s true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience. She then persistently tapped her fingers, and went about her day. She ate, cleaned, and took a shower. Then she attempted sleep, and failed. This was an unhealthy addiction for a young woman. After waking up from what could be called sleep, Amanda made a breakfast sandwich using muffins, bacon, eggs, and cheese. She then tied up her hair and tidied up the kitchen. After she was finally done, it was almost time for her twenty four hour limit to be over. Amanda immediately rushed over to the capsule and got in. As she watched the timer count down, it finally got to five. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1. Amanda logged back in with haste. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When Vera awoke, she was in the forest outside of town. She presumed this is where the paladins threw her remains... She did not lose much in the way of items, and still had Tessa''s gifts. She did lose a bit of mastery though, although her new skills hadn''t much mastery to lose regardless. As she was sitting on a log that looked as though it had been cleaved through, she heard a man scream. "Nice! I still have all my goods, save for a few random bits and odds!" Shouted the man. As Vera looked over, the sight made her jaw drop. A man with pure white hair, and a hulking sword on his back stood five feet from her. He must have just logged in. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Azrael checked over his gear, and everything remained. It seems the only thing of value he lost was a level. "Nice! I still have all my goods, save for a few japtem!" Exclaimed Azrael. As Azrael turned to walk to town, he saw a frightened woman sitting on the log he cleaved "four" days ago. He was sick of people being frightened of him, and walked closer to initiate conversation. He was determined to prove to at least one person that he was a good guy. As he drew closer to the woman, his jaw dropped. "Ehhh? Amanda?" Mumbled Azrael in embarrassment. Vera''s eyes grew large as she looked the man over again. "Jake? Is that you?" Said Vera. Jake then nodded in embarrassment. "Oh my god! You look so scary! When did you start playing Royal Road? What class are you? What level are you?" Rambled Vera quickly. "Easy, easy. I am level thirty two now, after dying...and I am a hidden class. It''s called a slayer...What about you?" Said Azrael in an embarrassed tone. "Wow! It seems Royal Road helped you approach people easier!Oh...ehhh...well, I was level eleven, but I just died "four" days ago, so now I am level ten again...My class is Fallen Enchanter, it''s hidden as well. How did you level up so fast? Said Vera. "Ehh...I kind of just...fought a lot. It''s not that I can approach people...I kind of just...did it this time. I was sick of people being scared of me, so I approached you to explain that I was a good person randomly. It just so happened to be you...You''re actually the first real person I have held a conversation with in game. After all I''ve been through though, it doesn''t really seem like a big deal anymore. I''m kind of bummed though, I can only wear light armors, and wield two handed weapons. I don''t worship a god, so I am shunned by the church as well." Said Azrael. "Pfft...shunned? I was killed by a holy bolt a couple days ago. Five very angry paladins wanted my head, not to mention I cannot enter towns with churches. I am hunted by churches, not shunned. My alignment was automatically changed to evil, and I cannot gain fame. The WORST part is, I can be killed by players without penalty. If anyone ever finds that out, I am screwed." Said Vera sadly. "Harsh..." Replied Azrael. "Well...I mean...If you want, you can travel with me, and I can protect you...or something...I guess. Not to mention I can help you peddle your wares...and whatnot" Muttered Azrael very quietly. "Haha! I would like that! I wish you would have told me you were playing royal road, I would have joined up long ago." Said Vera.
Party Formed
Thus began the formation of a party shunned by the gods, and destined for greatness. The Oath-Bound Slayer, and the Fallen Enchantress headed down the path towards one of the locations of interest Azrael had marked on his map. Chapter 1.8 - For Mein Furry: Part One As Vera and Azrael walked down the path together, Vera used the skillbook she obtained from Tessa.

"Nice! At least I have a form of ranged attack now." Exclaimed Vera. Azrael just smiled, and the two continued walking. Azrael was thinking about how lucky he was choosing Deschire, in the Kingdom of Haven, as a starting location. Not only did he come upon an amazing class, but he is now partying with the girl next door. Who cares if she is hunted by the church? He will go to hell and back to protect his new friendship. As the two walked further, Vera then checked the stats of the weathered blade-staff before equipping it.

To say the two were ill-equipped was an understatement. Azrael wore the beginner clothes, covered with a leather breastplate. He wore leather greaves over his pants, and thick heavy leather boots below. On his arms were leather bracers, and he had thick leather pauldrons as well. He did not have a helmet. Instead, He had a hood made of red cloth to cover his head. Needless to say, the whole set didn''t confer much in the way of defense. His slayer blade was currently useless, and Auruk''s old sword had seen better days. Vera was worse off yet. She had the simple beginner''s clothes, but no armor. She only had a black robe top and bottom, and a black hood. As for her weapon, it was the best thing on her at least... "I can confer small bonuses to our stuff with enchanting." Said Vera. "Wait...Like permanently?" Said Azrael. Vera nodded, and Azrael hurriedly handed all his goods over to her. She then proceeded to imbue all of his leather armor. The breastplate, pauldrons, gloves, bracers, belt, greaves, and boots were all enchanted with +20 HP enchants, and his hood was imbued with a magic that hid his face underneath it. His blade was enchanted with a simple +2 DMG enchant. Vera''s enchanting was only beginner level still, so she could only place one enchantment on an item. Regardless, these enchantments stacked up and helped a lot. Vera had her robe top, bottom, and hood all enchanted with +5% faster mana regen. She then enchanted her weapon with +2 Magic DMG. She was happy that she could be of some use, and gain proficiency.

Vera was so happy that she could finally start progressing her character. Rather than...you know...getting booted out of guilds, and led astray by a demonic old woman. Not to mention getting slain by the church. As the pair walked, they finally arrived at a small village. Vera waited outside momentarily while Azrael checked for a church. Luckily, there was none. Upon hearing this, Vera was ecstatic. She could actually enter this town without fear of death. Entering the village, the two quickly took a break at a nearby fountain. The town was in an uproar, soldiers were running to and fro. Women were crying as their sons age twelve and up were armed to the teeth. Even elderly men were taking up weapons. "Oh god, I hope this isn''t because we entered the town." Muttered Azrael. Just then, they saw a little boy donning armor with his father''s help. "I don''t want to fight, I want to stay here and play." Sobbed the little boy. "You have to. Don''t worry, you''ll fight alongside me and grandpa. We''ll all go down together." Said the father, with tears in his eyes. At this point, Azrael and Vera approached the pair. "Excuse me sir, what is everyone preparing for?" Said Azrael and Vera. The man wiped his eyes and said, "Berrefos the Huntsman has assembled a small army, and plans to raid our village. We need every able bodied man age twelve to seventy to take up arms, and attempt to repel the evil force." "Ehhh...That sounds kind of harsh. I mean...I am an adventurer...I can try to take care of them before they come here..." Said Azrael. "We have sent many heroes, but none understand Berrefos'' fury. I will offer you the chance adventurer, but honestly you will probably fall." Said the father. T-ting

"Wow...they really went to extremes over an E ranked quest. They must be really weak." Mumbled Azrael, under his breath. The father said, "Thank you, my name is Erik, and this is my son Daniel. If you succeed, it will mean the world to us. Here is a map to Berrefos'' Lair." Erik then went off spreading news of a possible alternative to war, and everyone''s spirits soared. "Oh god, I hope we don''t fail. These people may be getting their hopes up..." Muttered Azrael. Azrael and Vera did some preparations in the village, and got a lot of great discounts due to the task they are undertaking. Upon finally leaving, the entire village waved them off and wished them success. "Man...This is really played up..." Stated Vera. Azrael nodded in agreement as the two went on their way. "Nice!" Exclaimed Azrael. But upon entering...the site shocked them. "You have got to be F***ing kidding me." Stated Azrael. Vera''s mouth was simply agape. Two adorable creatures about three feet tall, were sleeping near the entrance. They had make-shift armor and small spears equipped. They looked like three feet tall teddy bears. "THIS IS WHAT THE VILLAGE WAS PREPARING TO FIGHT?" Screamed Azrael. "No wonder the rank was only E." Stated Vera. As the two were making a lot of noise, the cuddly little denizens of the cave began to rouse. They rubbed their eyes in an adorable manner, and looked at the intruders. "Intruders! Alert ze others!" Screamed the bears in a cute German accent. "This reminds me a lot of an old video game..." Thought Azrael, as the bears bull rushed him. Azrael simply stood there, and when the bear approached, he picked it up by the shaft of the spear and slammed it against the wall.
Critical Hit!
The little creature screamed a most blood curdling scream. It was high pitched and sounded like a child being tortured. It then slammed the ground and had green blood oozing from its mouth. Azrael didn''t know what to do. He felt horrible, and Vera was resisting the urge to vomit. "You killed mein partner! Have at you, beast! In the name of Freya!" Screamed the other bear as it rushed. "Oh great...they worship a god revered by the continent...Of course they do." Mumbled Azrael, as he lifted his leg. When the bear was directly under him he yelled, "Stomp!" The bear exploded in a cloud of fluff and green blood. It also screamed in a most disgusting manner. Azrael and Vera''s mouths were both open. "Well...W-we can''t a-abandon the quest." Stammered Azrael. Vera nodded.
You have made enemies of the cuddly race loved by Freya, the Berrikens.
Infamy increased by 100.
"Great...Even better." Said Azrael. Before they could even dwell further on this, a Berriken wearing nothing ran towards them brandishing a torch. Upon closer inspection, they could see that it had a wick sticking out of its head. The bear screamed, "FOR MEIN FURRY!" It then lit the wick and dived towards Azrael and Vera. "No f***ing way!" Exclaimed Azrael in suprise. He unconsciously grabbed Vera and dove behind a rock. *BOOM* "The...The little bear...He...He killed himself." Mumbled Vera in disbelief at the sight of the suicide bomber. "That he did...We must be more careful. These "Berrikens" seem to be a race of cuddly fanatics." For the next two weeks, Azrael and Vera made their way through the cave. The dealt with all manner of horrible bears and bear related deaths. The suicide bombers still made them cringe in fear. Who wouldn''t be scared of a three foot tall bear with a wick sticking out of its head? Azrael had leveled up all of his combat skills twice. Repair and handicraft also increased by two as he kept dismantling and repairing weapons and armors he found. Vera also gained three levels in her weapon mastery, and three in dark arrow. She could now cast two dark arrows at once, but the mana cost was increasing steadily. As Azrael passed her the weapons and armor, she would enchant them. Enchanted items gave more experience when repairing. Along with two enchanting levels, she also gained one in mana manipulation, and two in dark magic mastery. The bears didn''t really offer much in the way of experience as they were relatively low levels, but they provided plenty of loot and mastery. By the time they reached the boss'' quarters, Azrael had gained three levels, and Vera had gained nine due to being a much lower level. The mastery alone was worth the trip, but the two now stood before large wooden doors. On the top of the doors there was a plaque that read,"Ze Alfurry Berrefos." "Really...I don''t even..." Said Azrael. "Well...let''s go in and get this over with..." Said Vera. The two then entered. Chapter 1.8 - For Mein Furry: Part Two As Azrael and Vera entered, the boss room lived up to their expectations. It was a large square room, and the walls were painted a bright orange. Upon the walls were carved shelves which were decorated with assorted teddy bears. "I never want to see another god damn teddy in my life." Proclaimed Azrael, as Vera giggled. Then they caught sight of Berrefos. He was sitting atop a wooden throne with two pet brown bears at his side. He then rose, and jumped down from his throne. The two brown bears also got up. Berrefos was about the same height as Azrael, and looked like a pot-bellied teddy bear wearing overalls. He was missing an eye, and looked to be patched up in a few places. He brandished a large one handed axe that looked like a hatchet. He was adorable. "In the name of Freya, this furry one shall behead you!" Bellowed the bear. "Hey Vera, do you think us being shunned by the church has any play on the quests we receive?" Questioned Azrael. She shrugged, but it sure seemed like it. Berrefos stood there as the two brown bears came to attack. "Skippy and Scotty, show those two humans what we bears are made of!" Roared Berrefos. "I know what you''re all made of! Green blood, fluff, and suicidal tactics!" Screamed Azrael. The two bears advanced, and Azrael shot a few blade waves which the bears moved out of the way of. "Vera, do you think you can handle one?" Said Azrael. She nodded, and proceeded to confront Scotty the brown bear. Azrael then focused on his battle. The bear stood on two legs and began to try and maul Azrael. Azrael dodged, and cleaved the bear.
Critical Hit!
The bear moaned as one of its legs flew across the room. He assumed the bears to be around level twenty five, as they were quite easy. Most likely the boss would be around level fifty, but that didn''t really phase Azrael. This was too easy. They were just raking in loot and infamy. Azrael shot a blade wave at the bear to finish it off, and looked over at Vera. Vera had long since finished and was looking over at him as well. She had cast dark arrow five times, and impaled the bear with ten dark arrows, and garnered a bit of mastery. The two grinned at each other, and looked at Berrefos. He was kneeling on the ground crying. Apparently he was quite upset that his pets were done in so easily... He roared and charged towards Vera. Vera deftly dodged and tumbled out of the way of Berrefos'' axe multiple times, until Azrael drew near.
Gained Skill: Tumble
"Azrael! I got a skill called Tumble! It makes combat a bit easier!" Stated Vera, excitedly. "Have it..." Said Azrael, Lazily. "Vera stand back and give me cover fire with your dark arrows. I''ll tank it." Said Azrael. Vera nodded and stepped back ten feet. She then began pelting Berrefos with dark arrows. Azrael hit the bear 3 times, and was parried. It didn''t matter. Even if he is parried, his combo still rises as long as he doesn''t parry or block.

Azrael slashed, screamed, and became faster. Soon, Berrefos could hardly keep parrying at the speed the large blade was moving. "What kind of sorcery is this! No man can swing a blade that large at such insane speeds!" Screamed Berrefos. Bloodthirst truly became an asset during boss battles where the boss has a large amount of health and skill. He simply dodged, and became stronger and faster the more hits he dealt.

"Aurablade!" Shouted Azrael, as his blade was enveloped in red. Finally, the bear''s axe was knocked aside. Azrael then proceeded to deal blow after blow to the bear in quick succession. He was well past 100% increased damage and weapon speed at this point, and dealing critical hits at a frightening pace.

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. Berrefos dropped his weapon, and took a knee. he was huffing heavily, and bleeding green goo profusely. "Freya will avenge me...What god will avenge you, human?" Huffed Berrefos. Azrael looked disheartened. It was an ominous proclamation to say the least. Azrael then spun his blade around, and decapitated the bear. T-ting
You have defeated a boss.
Berrefos the Huntsman recorded in the Slayer log. The slayer log now confers +2 AGI, +1 STR, and +5 Fighting Spirit. You may choose one of Berrefos'' three skills to inherit.
Berrefos'' three skills are: Axe Mastery, Roar, and Beast Taming.
"I used a sword, axe mastery is useless. Roaring would be kind of cool, but I think it would scare people away from me more...I guess I will take Beast Taming?"
Skill Gained: Beast Taming
"Check Skill: Beast Taming." Said Azrael.
Beast Taming - Beginner 1 - 0%
Using bait, or strength, you may prove your worth to certain monsters and recruit them as your loyal servants.
  • 5% easier to recruit monsters.
  • Monsters you tame have 5% increased life.
  • Monsters you tame have 5% increased damage.
"That''s pretty cool I guess...I won''t complain about free skills!" Said Azrael, happily. He looked over, and Vera''s mouth was still open. "How do you swing that large sword so fast..." Questioned Vera. "Meh...it''s like...a passive skill or something. The more hits I do, the faster and stronger I get...kind of. I can''t block or parry though." Stated Azrael. "That''s awesome!" Exclaimed Vera. Azrael nodded as the two split the loot and cut up the bear for parts. Azrael received Berrefos'' Axe, and Vera took a ring that increased Mana and Mana Regen. "I think I got the shit end of the stick..." Mumbled Azrael under his breath. As the two were walking out of the cave, Azrael spotted a stray Berriken Hiding. "Oh...I thought we killed all of them...Hold on, let me try something." Said Azrael. He then walked over to the bear, who screamed and tried to run. Azrael picked it up by the head, and turned it so it was facing him. "Join me, or die." Said Azrael, calmly. The Berriken nodded quickly over and over.
You have tamed Berriken. Please name your pet.
"I''ll name you...Percy." The Berriken bowed and said, "A great name mein furry! I will follow you always." "Excellent." said Azrael, as another window popped up.
This is your first tamed monster, so the system will provide a brief explanation. Tamed monsters gain their own exp, skills, and items. You can allocate their skills and raise them as you see fit. It is also your responsibility to equip them(if possible), and distribute their items.
"Wow this system is quite intricate, and interesting. I look forward to assisting your growth, Percy." Said Azrael. "Check Stats for Percy!" Said Azrael.

"Percy...you''re so weak...No wonder the Berrikens were so easy." Stated Azrael. Percy held his head down in shame. "Don''t worry Percy, we will mold you into a model warrior!" Exclaimed Azrael. Percy saluted. The three then started heading back to Athan Village. Chapter 1.9 - The Fallen Revered As Azrael, Vera, and Percy all made their way back to Athan, Azrael took the time to learn more about Percy. "So...Uh...Percy, I know you are weak, but you must have some skills, right?" Said Azrael. "Oh yes mein furry. I have level three handicraft, und level three tailoring. Tailoring is essential to us Berriken for survival. It is essentially bandaging to us. I also dabble a bit in poisons...I lack combat experience und a class though. But yes, I have herb gathering, alchemy, poison mastery, tailoring, und handicraft." Stated Percy. "Tailoring? Excellent! You must instruct me!" Shouted Azrael, as he took out his hides to let Percy show him. "What a useful little bear." Thought Vera. For the remainder of the trip home, Vera was sore. Azrael was only spending time with Percy learning the skill of tailoring. "What a boring trip back..." She thought. About thirty minutes outside of town, Azrael heard a ding.
Gained Skill: Tailoring
"Awesome!" Shouted Azrael. Percy looked proud of himself for being useful to the master. "Wow...You learned to sew...How riveting." Said Vera, as she rolled her eyes. Azrael paid her no mind, as he was happy with his progress. Upon reaching the town, a guard saw the Berriken on Azrael''s shoulder. "The heroes have failed! The Berriken approach!" Screamed the guard. "No...You idiot, do you see an army? I tamed this one. He is loyal to me." Stated Azrael. The guard still looked skeptical, but let them through. Azrael made his way to Erik, who was still in the same location. "Erik, Berrefos is dead and his army is no more. Do not freak out, I have tamed this little guy, his name is Percy." Stated Azrael. "Real...Really? Everyone, we do not have to fight! The fallen foreigners have completed their task!" Screamed Erik. The village was in an uproar. "Erect a statue of the fallen!" "Where was Freya when we needed her!" "There is no god!" "Slay any missionaries!" "Oh god...This does not bode well." Said Azrael.
You have caused the spread of atheism in a small village. +100 Infamy
Azrael and Vera sighed. Erik then turned to the pair and said,"Thank you, the village will be erecting a statue in both your honor. I guess you can''t rely on god for all things. Here, take these." T-ting

You leveled up! Your influence in Athan Village has increased. You have received 5 gold. You and Vera both receive an Amulet of the Fallen.
"We are going to turn into demons...Aren''t we Vera." Mumbled Azrael. She simply frowned. "Check Item: Amulet of the fallen."

"Fantastic..." Thought Azrael. He had wanted to walk the path of good in the game, and instead him and his neighbor ended up embarking on a journey to spread atheism and become demons... Vera was now having Percy instruct her in basic alchemy and herb-gathering, while Azrael went to go search for the local smith. The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. Azrael found the local smith whose name was Balkan. After talking with Balkan for some time, and because of his standing with the town, Balkan allowed him to learn the basic skills of smithing.
Gained Skill: Blacksmithing
Azrael then purchased a portable forge and the other tools he needed at a greatly discounted price. Likewise, Vera learned basic alchemy and herb gathering quite quickly due to her high INT and WIS.
Gained Skill: Alchemy
Gained Skill: Herb-Gathering
After she was done, and was waiting for azrael, she began to secretly imbue Percy with the berserk enchantment using fallen enchanting. She would Berserk him, and unenchant him before he could do any damage. By doing this, she had raised her fallen enchanting level two times, and learned how to use unholy energy to cause more damage on weapons. Fallen enchanting was very useful. She tried a couple things on her blade-staff, enchanting and unenchanting over and over. It turns out, fallen enchanting stacks on top of normal enchantments. Right now, she could only imbue items with one normal enchantment, and one fallen enchantment, but should she ever reach master, or even grand master level, the items would be ridiculous! Since enchanting had leveled up, she also tried a normal enchantment on Percy. Vera enchanted Percy with a +4 DMG normal enchant, and it worked. She then imbued him with +2 Unholy DMG. She could also stack enchantments on living things, it was quite interesting. Percy looked stronger, and had a dark aura around his fists. She clapped with excitement from finally delving into the true meat of her class. Vera then unenchanted him before Azrael returned. Azrael then promptly spent the day relaxing and working on his smithing level, which reached Beginner 3. He then called Percy over. "Percy, since you have handicraft and gain more fist type damage than others, I have made you fist weapons known as katars. They are crumby right now due to my low level of mastery, but they are better than nothing. I also fiddled with tailoring a bit and made you a leather breastplate, greaves, boots, pauldrons, gloves, and bracers that will fit you...It actually didn''t take much leather at all." Said Azrael, as he equipped Percy with all the goods. Percy began to cry. "W-What did I do wrong Percy?" Stated Azrael Surprised. "When you first picked me up, I did not expect such a caring owner, mein furry. Thank you for rescuing me from my old life." Said Percy, in an adorable manner. "It''s no problem, you are with me now. I will take care of you!" Said Azrael. Over the next couple days, Azrael taught Percy. He took him in and out of combat with wild animals on the outskirts of town. Percy gained the skills Tumble, Pugilism, ambidexterity, and Fist-Weapon Mastery. Little did Percy know, Azrael was shaping him into the cutest little bear assassin ever. Azrael thought because of Percy''s size, he would make a great assassin. Plus, he was already versed in poisons and alchemy. Besides, a three foot teddy bear assassin sounds badass! Percy reached level eighteen quite easily, and gained a lot of mastery training with Azrael. Azrael made Percy a cute little black hood to put over his head, also. It was even fully equipped with ear holes for the fuzzy little bear! Vera had been training on her own while Azrael raised Percy, and manage to reach level twenty six. She wasn''t too far off from Azrael. When they all met back up they decided it was time to leave the village to explore new areas. They said their goodbyes to the villagers, and promised to return some day. (Seeing as there''s no church here, so they can return safely.) They started walking randomly down the path toward god knows what when Vera began to speak. "I''m hungry. Jake do you want to come over and eat dinner with me?" Said Vera. "W-WH-WHAT?" Screamed Azrael, embarrassed. Azraels Stats, Skills, and Inventory - (updated)

Chapter 1.10 - Dinner Date Black Out Jake sat fidgeting in Amanda''s dining room. Her home was rather plain for a woman''s judging from Jake''s experience. (Which isn''t much.) Amanda lived in the same type of apartment as him. It included a bedroom, bathroom, large kitchen, and a small living room. The kitchen had a small section where you could place a table and some chairs to use as a tiny dining room. It served its purpose well, but the two were not living in luxury in the complex. As he sat idly in the chair, Amanda was busy cooking a small meal. She looked adorable. She had her red hair tied up in a pony tail, and wore shorts and a t-shirt. Jake was not sure what she was cooking, but it smelled great. Much better than the fast food leftovers and ramen he normally ate. Just then, Amanda Yelled, " Done!" "I made a small chicken stir-fry, and some fried rice to go with it." Said Amanda, happily. Jake was drooling. He took back his previous thoughts. Amanda was indeed living in luxury. Well, actually, she could just cook well... Amanda brought over the food, and it was divided evenly on the two glass plates. Amanda noticed Jake fidgeting and said, " We''re just eating food, haha. No need to be so nervous." Jake nodded, and the two began to eat. "Oh my god! This is delicious!" Exclaimed Jake, as he plowed through the meal. "Haha...It''s just normal stir-fry." Said Amanda, as she blushed a little. "Well it''s much better than what I usually eat!" Said Jake. "And what might I ask, do you usually eat?" Questioned Amanda. "Ehhh...Leftover fast food, instant ramen, and junk food. You know how it is." Said Jake, embarrassed. "I most certainly do not! Living alone, we must take care of our bodies! You have to come over here and eat more often." Said Amanda, grinning. Jake then nodded, and twiddled his thumbs embarrassed. Amanda simply laughed. She loved how social interaction threw him off so much, it was hilarious. "At least Royal Road is getting Jake to come out of his shell more." Thought Amanda. As the two finished their meal, they both did their share of cleaning up. Amanda then proclaimed, "Ahh...After a good meal, you have to drink! I have plenty of beer! Drink with me, Jake." "Ehhh...I don''t know...I mean I can handle my alcohol, but I really shouldn''t...Plus...I mean, I should get back to RR..." Said Jake, meekly. "No can do! I won''t accept no for an answer!" Said Amanda, as she cracked two Sapporos. "Well...I mean...I guess I can..." Said Jake. "That''s the spirit! Said Amanda, smiling. One down, two, three....Four, five, six. The two laughed and talked of their early days in Royal Road. About Amanda being booted from the enchanter''s guild, and meeting the evil wench Tessa. Jake proceeded to talk about Horrick, and how he thought sexual assault and torture was imminent. Not to mention how the shady old codger wouldn''t teach him how to grow a forest underground. He then went on to explain the hell that was training with Auruk, and how emotionless and creepy the little boy was. The two laughed, and drank, and sang. "Damn...Amanda can really hold her beer." Thought Jake, with a red face. If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. Seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve.... Swaying a bit, the two sang and ate snacks. Arm in arm they danced around drunkenly, just having a blast. Thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen.... BLACKOUT ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jake woke up, questioning his location. He looked around, and realized he had passed out in Amanda''s apartment. Feeling extremely embarrassed, he got up off the living room floor, and hurriedly went back to his apartment. (After putting all the cans in the recycling, of course.) Jake was embarrassed that he just passed out on Amanda''s floor, and hoped she wasn''t mad at him. He then realized it was Monday and yelled, "Oh shit! I am going to be late for class!" As he left for his classes, he looked quite slovenly. He did not have time to shower, and had five o''clock shadow. Praise be to the gods he found clean clothes, and put deodorant on. Jake arrived at his classes, and sat through them begrudgingly. He had a pounding headache and his stomach hurt. "Man...I really have not drank that amount in a good, long time." He said, Exhausted. When lunch time arrived, he chowed down and felt a lot better. But, something was off today. People were actually looking at him. Why?... Jake was perplexed as he looked around and saw a few of his peers staring at him, and giggling. It was then two guys approached Jake, and asked if he wanted to party around with them for a bit in Royal Road. The people were making fun of him. They didn''t realize he had Royal Road now, and were trying to rub in the fact that he didn''t have it. Little did they know, he did own a capsule now. Jake Grinned and said, " Sure, let''s meet up in game." The two men''s jaws dropped after they realized he now owned the game. They could not back out now, and they told him their location. Turns out they were only about an hour in game away from Jake, so tonight they would all meet up. The two guys returned to their table, and looked at the floor for the rest of the lunch period. Jake grinned after having triumphed over them, and could not believe he was going to meet up with some of his peers in game. Later that night, Jake logged in the game and headed to the designated location. He waited for six hours, but the kids never came. "I should have known..." Said Azrael, very sad. He then walked back to his previous location, and found Amanda waiting for him. Amanda was the only one he could count on. At least she joked with him, and hung out with him. He felt bad for making her wait there for him, and decided to add the two guys to his ever growing list of enemies. "There you are, Azrael! I thought you took off without me! Hahaha, you were hilarious last night! You need to come over more often." Said Vera, happily. "You-You''re not mad at me?" Said Azrael. "Haha, why would I be? We ate, drank, and had a great time! I don''t care that you crashed on my floor, you doof. " Replied Vera. Azrael smiled at her, and the two continued down the path. Chapter 2.1 - Cavern of Mutts: Part One Author''s Note: I''m back bitches! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Azrael, Vera, and Percy finally went on their way once more. They talked of miscellaneous things, and discussed their lives. It was then they got on the topic of how the Berriken came into existence, when Azrael asked Percy. "It wasn''t an act of love, like you all assume. The goddess Freya has a love for beautiful and cute things. She conceived us , and then moved on to other things which caught here interest. To simply make a cute race, not thinking of our toils and struggles. We are small, quite weak, and without proper guidance we would simply die out. Berrefos, being the strongest, took lead and would hear nothing of abandoning Freya. He managed to turn most of the Berriken into fanatics, and lived in denial. He thought we weren''t abandoned, and that Freya would return, but most of us knew the truth. Not all of us were fanatics. Some of us were realists. I hold no love for the selfish god known as Freya, and sometimes even curse her for my existence. That was, until I met you, mein Furry." Vera had tears in her eyes, and a new anger was welling up in Azrael. "How could a god be so selfish? Making a race with no objective, and then abandoning them, simply for her own pleasure. It would seem this world is more twisted than I thought." Pondered Azrael. While Azrael was lost in thought, finally another village could be seen on the horizon. "You guys wait here, I will go scout the town to make sure it is devoid of the devout." Azrael told Percy to guard Vera, and assured them that he would return with haste. He then made his way to the village. It was much larger than the last, and seemed to house many useful amenities. Once more, no church in sight. Things finally seemed to be looking up for the group. It was a small city, to be exact. It had guilds, shops, and all manner of things a player would need to survive. "Excuse me sir, what is the name of this city?" Said Azrael to a lone guard. "This is the city of Thrane. It''s not too popular, but some come to spectate our matches." Said the Guard. "Matches? What matches?" Replied Azrael. "Ahh yes, you are new. We hold gladitorial events, and monthly tournaments. It''s a shame you could not have viewed yesterday, but there is a special event next month. You should stick around, as it should be a good time." Said the guard, as he handed Azrael a flyer. The flyer read, "Level 50 and under team tournament, prizes for placing first and second. First place gets an exclusive quest." Azrael was quite intrigued by the rewards, and sought to go question the arena staff now. Before doing so, he felt he should gather the rest of his party. He then headed back to the hiding location. Upon returning to the location, Azrael found Vera and Percy eating some of the prepacked lunch, and sat down. While eating, he discussed the rules. "Apparently, you must be under level 50 to participate, and it is limited to teams of two. Pets are not allowed to enter with their masters, sorry Percy. But, if you are interested Vera, we have a little over a month to prepare, and learn more details." "It sounds really fun! Plus, it would be nice to take place in an event without being hunted." retorted Vera. "My thoughts exactly. Also, we have no idea what the hell we are doing right now, and a quest would be a godsend for us." "Yeah, it''ll be nice to do something other than grinding and travelling. Plus, we can test our mettle!" Exclaimed Vera. "Yes...something like that...Anyway, I have been told the local hunting spots, and I find that there''s a cave about one day west which sounds quite fitting. It is called the Cavern of the Pack. It consists of wolves, dire wolves, and at the last level...baby hellhounds. I want to get my hands on some of the furs in there. Hellhound furs are rare, and boast high defense and fire resistance. They will be great for raising my tailoring. It shouldn''t be too hard, baby hellhounds range in the level 55-70 range. With our stats, and after decimating the other fodder, we should be able to take them with ease." Explained Azrael. Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit. Vera nodded, and they headed into the town to make preparations. After selling random loot, and acquiring the necessary supplies, the party headed west to their destination. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ There was nothing special about the route. It was relatively all plains, and there was little vegetation. There was a small dirt path, and some type of large land dwelling bird seemed to frequent the area. Azrael held no interest in them, as their levels were low. After about a day''s travel, the party arrived at the cavern. It seemed as it wasn''t traveled normally, and the entrance was actually quite a pain to find. This explained why hellhound furs were coveted and hard to acquire. "Well, let''s eat a quick meal before we go in." As he said that, Azrael began to unpack a small picnic for the group. It was not much, a couple sandwiches and some soup. It was accompanied with a really refreshing mint tea. Most would see this as a boring meal, but Azrael learned to love anything that was not rock bread. The group made small talk as they ate, and decided how to approach the coming battles. The focus would be raising the group''s overall level, and perhaps acquiring a good deal of fur. Upon finishing up and entering the cave, the group paused as the light levels were low. Vera casts a bit of novice magic nonchalantly, and a 15 meter radius around them was illuminated. It was then an ominous wind rolled by them, and many howls were heard. Vera shuddered as Azrael walked on with no fear. When the group reached the first opening, there were normal wolves. They were a bit higher in level than noob fodder, but nothing the group had even a small amount of trouble with. Short work was made of them, and japtem was collected. Upon resting at the end of level one, the group made their way down to level two. Dire wolves...Quite a bit higher in level, but still not much of a challenge. The group had a relatively sound hunting plan they were putting into effect. Azrael would tank two to three of the beasts, while Vera enchanted a couple with Berserk. Then Vera would proceed to pound them all with Dark Arrow in the confusion. Fallen enchanting proved quite useful in combat in some cases. Percy would sneak up on ones that were nearly dead, and just shank them...like...hundreds of times in an unrelenting manner, while yelling in some form of German-ish...Very creepy actually, but it worked. The group continued like this for about a week before they decided to rest and head to floor three. They gained a bit of mastery, but as the monsters weren''t very high leveled, not much. Percy had the most explosive growth level wise, he gained twelve levels, and quite a bit of mastery. Vera gained eight levels, and Azrael gained four. The two didn''t really gain much in the way of masteries...Azrael did, however, gain a level in Beast Taming due to training Percy. After resting a bit, and eating a small meal of fish stew and bread, the party descended down into the last level of the cavern... Chapter 2.1 - Cavern of Mutts: Part Two As the trio descended to the last floor, the air around them had changed. It felt thick, and was slightly off in a manner that could not be described by words. Vera unconsciously moved closer to Azrael, and Percy remained ever vigilant. As the group walked, miscellaneous bones were strewn across their path. Azrael didn''t miss this chance, and pocketed them. Vera could only look at him in astonishment, as she was horror stricken. It was then the group heard a howl that was unlike any heard on the other floors. It was a deep, guttural roar that finished with a low pitched blood curdling scream. The group armed themselves because they knew what approached, and Azrael adopted a low stance. Finally coming into sight was exactly what the group feared, a baby hellhound. It was a menacing thing to watch, indeed. The beast kept repeating the sickening roar, and with every step it took it left bloody footprints behind it. Small snorts of flame shot from its nose when it breathed, and it was covered in razor sharp spikes. It''s name was quite misleading as well, seeing as baby hellhounds are about the size of a full grown lion. "Stick to the plan, and we shall be fine." Said Azrael, confidently. Alas, the group''s plan was set for one of the beasts, and they were not expecting what came next. As Azrael waited for the beast''s advance, another flanked him silently and tackled him straight into the wall. It stood on its hind legs, and began attempting to eat his face in a grisly manner. As he attempted to knock his foe away, another hound was also advancing towards Vera and Percy, making three... The two approaching hounds lifted their heads, and made a loud screeching noise akin to nails on a chalkboard. What followed, none in the group expected. The two hounds launched sickening jets of fire from their mouths at Vera and Percy. Vera just managed to ward off the flames by twirling her blade-staff at an insane speed, and then released the two dark arrow spells she had stored for an emergency. The beasts were hardly phased, and continued their advance. "Run!" Bellowed Azrael, as he grabbed his assailant''s front paws and lifted his legs. He then yelled,"Double-Stomp!"
Critical Hit!
The hellhound slammed backwards into one of the beasts assaulting the rest of the party, and its spiked gouged into it resulting in another critical hit. The one hit by Azrael was quite badly damaged, but the other did not look amused. They released another horrid scream, and both ran towards Azrael. "I am an avid animal lover, but thou hath pissed me off!" Screamed Azrael, as he walked towards the beasts. Vera and Percy together were managing the last one relatively easily with their powers combined. Azrael started slowly running towards the other two, as they screeched and brought their heads up. In a low tone he said, "Aurablade." The two hounds opened their mouths and launched the sickening flames once again. Azrael held his blade point down in front of him to shield his body. As the flames stopped, he hefted his blade and jammed it straight into the one beast''s mouth.

Hellhound is immobile.
He then ran to the other and punched it square in the face. It growled and slashed him.

A large crack was heard, and the contents of the hound''s head spilled onto the floor. Vera and Percy had just finished their foe off, and were watching in horror. Azrael walked back to his sword. He then pulled it out as a message appeared.
Hellhound is no longer immobile.
Azrael gave a smile most would call the devil''s, and then spun and kicked the hound into the air. He dusted off his shoulders, put his blade in the air, and activated aura blade. Well...you can guess where the poor canine had landed...

The beast was cleaved perfectly in half, and blood rained upon Azrael.

Azrael looked at his party members and said, "Shall we take a small break?" Vera and Percy could only nod towards Azrael, as they were still at a loss for words, due to his eerie smile and blood soaked appearance. Luckily there was a small stream nearby where Azrael cleaned himself off. The group then rested and devised new battle plans. They were quite happy, as just three hellhounds raised their level by one. The fur and other items dropped were quite useful as well, and would prove great for raising blacksmithing and tailoring. Azrael was getting excited. Things continued better over the next week, and the hunting went well. Azrael took to tanking while Vera dealt ranged damage and berserked other hounds. Percy stayed vigilant, alerting the party of flanking attempts while he dealt damage here and there from the sides. During this time, Azrael gained two levels in Bloodthirst, Aurablade, and Bladewave. He used his skills whenever possible, as they really needed to grow. Stomp and tumble gained one level, and Two Handed Sword Mastery was stuck at Beginner 9 - 99%. It would seem he needed to do something worthy to advance it. He managed to gain quite a few levels, and was at 49. Vera, through enchanting and fallen enchanting allies and enemies, has gained a level in enchanting, and two in fallen enchanting. She also managed to raise all of her combat masteries by one, even spell multiplication which made her quite happy. She sat satisfied, at level 45. Percy too, had gained two in all of his masteries, and was almost level 40. Feeling accomplished and ready to go home after resting, the party then heard what sounded like an intense battle at the end of the cave. This, however, made no sense as they saw no one else enter the cave in this time. Curiosity got the better of them, and they went to examine the origin of the sounds anyway. The sight before them was insane. They could only look on in horror as two full grown hellhounds were locked in a battle to the death. One of them had red and black fur, and was spouting purple flames. The other was red and white, and was shooting what looked to be ice. The two beams collided and the resulting shockwave knocked our heroes straight on their asses. They got up, and saw that the black and red hound had its jaws clamped deep in the white and red hound''s neck. It turned grey, and disappeared. The party could not help but feel sad for it, but they had no time to dwell on their thoughts as the other full grown turned towards them and roared. They were once again knocked over. "Oh shii...Should we run?" Azrael said. "I don''t think we''ll make it far..." Said Vera, sadly. "Curse our curiosity." Said Azrael, as he drew his blade. Chapter 2.1 - Cavern of Mutts: Part Three Azrael stared at the black and red abomination. Its eyes were a sickening yellow, and it was covered in many scars. Short snorts inbetween its breathing revealed the sickening purple flames once more. Azrael attempted to whistle. "*Whistle...* Here boy...He-here...Uhhh...Spot. That''s a good boy, I''ll be yo-your f-f-friend." Vera could only put her head in her hands. "You sir, are an idiot. In what world does that thing look friendly?" Snarked Vera. "It was worth a try." He said, as she still stared at him. All the while, the beast was still walking toward them. The party could now see the name Hegtrum above the hound''s head. "Pfft...Random Ai naming for the lose, that name is stupid." Thought Azrael. "Azrael...You know...I have an idea...I mean, I haven''t tested it yet, but I can enchant the animals and monsters...So, maybe I can enchant you too?" Said Vera. "Well, given our current situation, I wouldn''t be against the idea. Just don''t berserk me." Said Azrael, warily. "Roger that...I''ll give you increased physical damage, and increased unholy damage. I can currently manage one fallen and one normal enchantment per item, or being..." She said. "Well, give it ago. Enchant us ALL. So in case something goes awry, it goes awry in all of us...You mad scientist..." Said Azrael, playfully. Vera then recited the incantations. The whole party seemed to grow a bit physically, and their hands and weapons glowed a nice purple color as well. "Yes...YESSSS! I have the power!" Shouted Azrael. Vera sighed, and the group finally turned their attention to the beast that was circling them. Vera and Percy looked worried, but all Azrael could think about, was getting his hands on the skill which allowed him to breathe purple fire. With that, he lunged at the beast. He decided to give it his all from the beginning, and launched a Bladewave. Hegtrum nonchalantly dodged, and increased the speed he was running at Azrael. Azrael kicked off the ground hard, and used stomp to launch himself into the air. He then activated Aurablade, and dove at the beast. Hegtrum once again dodged, and Azrael cleaved through the earth, leaving behind a large gash. At this point, Hegtrum was getting really mad. It made a mad dash for Azrael, and attempted to claw him. Azrael rolled out of the way, and Hegtrum breathed the purple fire at him. Azrael couldn''t dodge fully, and blocked with his sword. He could not, however, prevent all the damage.

Vera took this chance to shoot multiple dark arrows at the beast, which seemed to piss it off... Hegtrum ran at Vera, but Percy intercepted it and put both of his katars in the hound''s leg. The hounded roared fiercely, and tripped. Not missing this opportunity, Azrael ran over and began slashing the beast all over.

"Shit!" Screamed Azrael, as he began to roll around on the ground to put out the flames. While Azrael was rolling around, Hegtrum went for Vera and Percy. The beast knew it had the upper hand, and seemed to almost have an ominous grin on its face, despite being fairly damaged from Azrael''s earlier assault. Vera looked at Percy who was shaking with fear, and then to Azrael who was still rolling around. She then sighed, and decided she would use her trump card. Over the last few days when alone, she had been experimenting with her enchantments. She had never thought to berserk herself, but did it by accident one day. By doing so, she learned that she would lose control of her senses for about three minutes, but her close combat strength and reaction time would be increased exponentially. If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. "Oh well, whatever..." Thought Vera, and she then berserked herself. Percy saw Vera glow an eerie red, her hair grew longer, and almost looked sharp. Her muscles seemed to bulge, and she seemed to have lost her mind. He was not about to take any chances, and hid elsewhere. The beast ran for Vera, but knew not what she now was. As it finally reached her, she disappeared. Vera reappeared behind Hegtrum, and pelted it with dark arrows. It seems spell multiplication kicked off, as two spells turned into eighteen arrows. The beast was slammed with dark energy, and knocked to the ground.

"Oh sweet! We did a hidden quest! Wait...Who the hell is Kora?" Thought Azrael. As he was lost in his thoughts, a smaller hellhound walked over to where the white and red hound had passed away, and began to whimper. It was also white and red, and was slightly smaller in size than a baby hellhound. Its eyes were a deep blue, and it was clean and fluffy compared to the other hellhounds. The ground froze slightly where its feed landed, and the party knew it was the son of the other hound that had passed. This was Kora. Azrael approached the hound, wondering how he could comfort the poor thing. "I''m sorry, Kora. Your mother fought valiantly, and did her best. We have slain her assailant, and she may now rest in peace. If there is nothing left for you here, you may journey with us. I would be glad to have you." Stated Azrael, as he walked back towards Vera. The hound whimpered a bit, and then started to follow Azrael.

After collecting all the loot, Azrael made his way over to Vera. "Shit...Now I am level 51...What am I going to do? I guess Vera will have to enter with Percy? Damn it..." Pondered Azrael.
