《Edenawe by Rulpra》 Prologue Prologue to adventure Paul¡¯s life was pretty lonely some would say, but he didn¡¯t care. He was perfectly happy with his life as it was. He didn¡¯t have any friends, they were just people he knew from school, work, neighbours. He loved to watch tv shows, read comic books, novels , play video games. He loved everything that had a good story, especially if it had fantasy elements. Everyday was mostly the same, work then he started reading, watching or playing. Then one day like always after finishing work, he sat in front of his computer and started reading something new that came out. Then he heard something in the kitchen. ¡°It¡¯s just my imagination again¡¡± Then suddenly it got louder and he heard a voice among the noise. ¡°Come to me¡nture avaits. Come to me¡ure avaits. Come to me¡ avaits.¡± Then the voice started to fade away. Surprised he grabbed a baseball bat and went to the kitchen. Then he slowly opened the door and felt a powerful headache and he fell on his knees in to the kitchen. He suddenly realized that he can¡¯t see, something very bright stops him from seeing the source of the voice. He still tried to see who is speaking but al he saw was white. ¡°Who? Who are y¡¡¡± Then everything went dark and he fainted. He thought everything that happened was a dream and started to wake up to go to work. He slowly opened his eyes¡ ¡°Huh? What is this? Where am i? What is going on? Am I still dreaming? *slap* ¡°Ouch¡no I¡¯m not dreaming. But what is this bed, room and where are my clothes!?- he screamed as loud as he could. If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. Suddenly an old man ran into the room with a huge grin on his face. ¡°Ho, ho, ho, ho, ho¡I see you are awake. Good. Good. Very good.¡± ¡°What? What is this? Who are you ¡±-he started to panic <> ¡°Relax, relax young man. You are still weakened after all that has happened¡± Sensing that the old man doesn¡¯t mean him harm he relaxed a bit and started to analyze the situation. <> The old man smiling watched the young man starting to calm down and going into deep though. ¡°Good. It seems you have calmed down, and are healthy. I know you have many questions about what happened to you and I will answer them all while we drink this tea.¡± ¡°Huh? Oh¡.ok. Thank you¡±-still a bit confused ¡°First of all let¡¯s introduce ourselves. My name is Jonathan, and I am 257 years old.¡± ¡°Ummmm¡.my name is Paul and I¡¯m¡..wait how old did you say you are?!¡± ¡°257, ho ho ho¡± ¡°But how¡.you don¡¯t look older than 60.¡± ¡°Thank you. Ok now that we know our names I will start explaining a few things to you, and after that I will answer all the questions you might have¡±-the old man smirked with a glint in his eyes. ¡°Ok¡¡±-Paul answered noticing the glint in the old man¡¯s golden eyes. Next Chapter Vol.1 Chapter 1-New beginnings part.1 "......Ok now that we know our names I will start explaining a few things to you, and after that I will answer all the questions you might have¡±-the old man smirked with a glint in his eyes. ¡°Ok¡¡±-Paul answered noticing the glint in the old man¡¯s golden eyes. ¡°First I will start with a few things about this world and please wait for me to finish before asking questions. 1.This world is called Edenawe and there are many places left undiscovered. It is not known how big it is, but so far there are 10 kingdoms and they all have about the same territory. You don¡¯t need to know about them just yet. Just know that the kingdom you are right now it¡¯s called Calvarno. 2.Every kingdom has 1 or 2 major cities and a few villages depending on the territory. We are now close to a village called Farhav. Our location is about a day from the village, and this house is deep in the forest around the village. 3.Every town has a special type of dungeon under it. The dungeon is connected to the ruler of that respective town. The town can get a new ruler in only 2 ways. Either the current leader gives you the town, or you kill the ruler and then you must go into the dungeon ALONE and conquer it, by reaching the throne which you must touch with the bracelet. More about the bracelet later. 4.There are many types of races in this world. In the present there are elves, dwarfs, humans and advents. Out of these the elves, dwarfs and humans have a peace treaty so they may live in the same city but they still don¡¯t fully trust another. Then there are the advents¡hmmmm. They are the wild cards. They are feared by some and loved by others. They are the fewest among all races. I am a human, and you are and advent.¡± ¡°But I am...¡± ¡°I said wait till I finish and then you can ask questions¡±-said Jonathan with a serious tone ¡°5.There are a large number of different monsters in the unexplored areas and where isn¡¯t such a large population. Some have special abilities, some are harmless, and some are very dangerous. 6.Every kingdom a guild, all different and still the same. The guild¡¯s recruit adventurers and they give them quests. Many of this quests are to kill some type of monster. 7.Everyone has a bracelet like this, that bonds to them and then connects everyone in this world to this world. You get one at your 16th birthday from the guild or a mage. 8.In this world there are 2 main types of adventurers. They are either those that focus on enhancing their physical prowess, warriors. Or there are those that study magic and use it, they are called magi. I am a magi, specifically a grandmaster magi. 9.Every bracelet has it¡¯s owners stats, skills, and guild level. Your guild level gives you acces to the same quest level. The levels are H, G, F , E, D, C, B, A, AA, S and the highest is SS. The higher the quest level the higher the reward and fame. To level up you use guild points that you gather by completing quests or killing monsters. You can also convert guild points into money. 10.And finally there is you, or more exactly your kind. In this world you are called advents. You kind first appeared in this world 20 years ago, and since then once every 5 years, in the summer, one of you appears in mostly every town. Your kind is easy to find since you have special skills and some crazy high stats. Because of this every king sent small armies to every village, town where one of you might appear and recruit them by force. So because of this most of you kind is either a great hero or a criminal.¡± After the old man finished talking, he looked at Paul to see his reaction. ¡°Did you understand everything I said?¡± ¡°Well, I believe so.¡± ¡°So, do you have any questions?¡± ¡°Hahahahahaha not for now, hahahahaha¡±-Paul started laughing with tears in his eyes The old man looked surprised at the young man laughing in front of him. ¡°I cant belive it¡hahaha. This is my chance to have my own adventure!¡±-Paul couldn¡¯t believe his luck.He could finally have his own adventure like in all the stories he enjoyed so much before. The old man left the room letting him laugh and shortly returned with a set of clothes. He handed the clothes to Paul and told him to get changed and that he will be waiting outside. Paul looked at the clothes, and his smiling stopped. The clothes were plain like the ones villagers used to wear in games. But when he looked at the clothes better he saw that they are kind of small. <> He took the clothes and got dressed. He noticed that the clothes were perfect for him. He thought he saw wrong and went outside to the old man. Just before saying something to the old man he saw himself in the mirror. ¡°Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat?! What is going on?!¡± ¨Che saw that he looked younger, his hear was jet black, and his eye color was purple. The old man panicked.¡±What? What is going on? Are you injured?¡± ¡°No¡it¡¯s just that my appearance changed¡± ¡°Hmmm? What do you mean¡± ¡°I looked older. My eyes were green and my hair was brown.¡± ¡°Oh that¡one of you kind a few years ago told me that when coming to this world his appearance changed too. So that must be true for all advents¡± ¡°Really? Well it¡¯s not that I hate it¡it just surprised me.¡± The old man suddenly ran into another room and came out with something in his hand and gave it to Paul. ¡°I almost forgot to give you a bracelet. To bond it to you must put it on your hand then put a drop of blood on the bracelet and it will change shape to suit your personality and abilities better.¡± Paul put the bracelet on his right hand and put a drop of blood on it. The bracelet started to glow purple and started to change it¡¯s shape. It went up almost until to his elbow and started to shine harder. It started as smooth as his skin but lines started appearing on the bracelet. It looked like elvish writing. It¡¯s color became like black metal with rust on it, and the writing was silver. It looked like an ancient artifact. After the transformation stopped, a bit of steam came out of it and then stopped. Jonathan watched the whole thing with his mouth open. He never saw a bracelet transform this much in all his long life. Then he saw Paul staring at him. ¡°Oh, my apologies young man. It¡¯s just I never saw a bracelet do that much of a transformation.¡± Paul felt very happy hearing this. He thought that must mean he is very powerful. ¡°Well anyway, to see what are your stats simply say STATUS, and only you will see this window. To see what skills you have say SKILLS. Also you can only show you stats to anyone you want just say SHOW STATUS TO whoever you want. Do you understand? Good.¡± Paul was excited to find out what he could do. ¡°Show STATUS to Jonathan¡±

¡°Why am I so weak if I¡¯m an advent?¡± Paul asked with a sad face ¡°Well, if my theory is correct it¡¯ probably because you arrived in this world sooner than you should have. Normally your kind starts appearing only starting from next week. The only reason you arrived here is because 5 years ago I was saved by one of your kind and he told me to help the one who will arrive in Farhav. I did so by setting a magical trap 2 months ago to prepare for your arrival .This magical trap automatically transports you here if you were to arrive anywhere near or in the village. To protect you from the kingdom by telling you all that I can before¡.Before I¡¯m gone from this world¡± ¡°Huh? What do you mean¡± ¡°You see soon will be my time to return to the earth and make room for the young. I only have about 3 days left in this world. I would have left notes and a diary if you arrived here and I was gone¡± Paul was surprised to learn this peace of news and asked to see if he could help but it seems that in this world some people that have lived long know for some time if they were to die. ¡°Don¡¯t be sad my young friend. I have lived a happy, full of adventure and long life. But for the next 3 days I will teach you and help you as much as I can so that you will have an easier life¡± ¡°But first I have some items for you. They are one of a kind since I made them hohohoho and they will help you on your journey in this world. Follow me¡± The old man lead him to a door that took the both to a basement. And there when the old man said something small orbs of light started to appear. Paul was amazed to see a library full of hundred of thousand of books and a table on the left with 3 chests near it. He reached into one of the chests and gave Paul a small ring made of wood. It had a crack in it. ¡°Here This ring is one of my greatest creations. This ring is a magical storage device. It allows it¡¯s owner to put anything in it as long as you can touch it with the ring. This item also required a drop of your blood to bond to you.¡± Paul quickly put on the ring and then dropped a drop a blood on the ring. The ring shined then it became the perfect size and it didn¡¯t even feel like it was on his finger ¡°To take out an item just think of it and the ring will do the rest. There are many items like this one but they have a limited storage. This item opens up a pocked dimension so it¡¯s limitless¡± Paul was really thankful and looked at Jonathan with more respect now. Then Jonathan reached again in the chest and pulled out a paper and a small bag. ¡°This bag contains 50 pills that if you take them, you will no longer need to eat, sleep and rest for a week. The downside is that after a week you need to sleep 24 hours or you might die.¡± Paul again was surprised at what the old man has given him. But then he saw the paper and read it.It was the recipe for the magic pill. Paul tried the ring out and absorbed the pill and the paper. The next time the old man reached into the chest he brought out 3 old looking leather covered books. ¡°Take these books and touch them with the hand your bracelet is on and say LEARN¡± Paul put his right hand on the first book and then he said ¡°Learn¡± The bracelet showed him then a window just like his stat window.

Jonathan was happy to see Paul so happy with his gifts. Then he took out of the 3rd chest a wooden box and a crystall the size of a fist. Paul looked at these 2 items and asked. ?What are these?¡± Jonathan smiled and said ?You will know when the time is right.Don¡¯t try to find out since it¡¯s impossible. After you have a few adventures you will find out. Hohohohoho¡± Then Jonathan looked towards the books and pointed towards them and said something. All of a sudden all the books started floating out and they stopped in front of Paul. ?Go on then....Absorb them into the ring fast. I can¡¯t keep them up for long¡± Paul hold out the ring and absorbed the books 10 or so at a time. After 3 hours he finished absorbing the last book. Then Jonathan reached into the last chest and gave him a big book and a map ?This one is my journal with all my adventures and some knowledge. This is a magical map that shows you your location on it and it also shows you every place you went to.Right now it¡¯s rather empty, only this location and the way to the village is on it.But the more you travel the better it becomes. Use it wisely.¡± ?Thank you Master. I will definetly make you proud.¡±-said Paul with a grin. ?Oh shut it!!!Call me Jonathan. I am your friend not your master¡±-Johnathan said turning around so that Paul can¡¯t see his face becoming red ?Now let¡¯s go sleep. It¡¯s already late and we need to sleep. Tommorow it¡¯s a big day¡± They both went to sleep. Or they tried to sleep. Jonathan was to exited that he finally met Paul, the advent he waited for almost 5 years and couldn''t wait for the next day. Paul on the other hand still wasn''t sure this was real or a dream...he didn''t care anymore. He was to mentally drained to think and tried to get some sleep. He was in a deep sleep. He didn''t even hear all the noise, and rumblings around him, continuing to sleep like a baby. Few hours later he woke up with a sharp pain in his neck and back. ¡°Owowowow, what happened¡..did i sleep wrong?¡±-looking around noticing he was on the ground under a tree so large that he couldn''t event see the top of the trees or the sky. He noticed that he was all alone in the forest. No bed, no house and no old man.Only a small bag with a note on it. He took the note and started reading it.
From your friend Jonathan, I''m sorry i didn''t tell you everything yesterday. I just didn''t want you to witness my death. It would have been a burden i don¡¯t want you to have. If you are wondering why were you on the ground, its because the house is made of magic and if i leave the house would vanish as well. I left some food for you in that bag and gave you everything you need to get to the village alive. Don¡¯t be sad for me. As i said i had a happy life and now that i fulfilled my promise to my saviour i don¡¯t have any more regrets. Be careful in this world, it¡¯s full of danger and i don¡¯t mean the monsters. The people are more dangerous. Be careful who you trust with your life and never forget that there is more to life than becoming famous. Fame brings friends and riches but also brings enemies and jealousy. I said everything i wanted¡now go and have as many adventures as you can. So long my final friend.
Paul finished reading the letter with a sad smile, and whispered ¡°thank you¡±. He stood up and absorbed the bag in his ring and looked around. ¡°Everywhere i look there are only trees. What kind of forest is this that even the sky isn''t visible¡¡± <> he thought and a map appeared in his hand. He decided that he should go to the village. *rustle, rustle* He heard something and looked around to see what was making that noise. It was coming from a large bush. Suddenly he saw something appearing from the bushes.A horn. <> Nope¡.It was a huge creature that looked like a large pig with a long horn on his head. The creature started to hit with its hooves the ground and started charging at Paul. ¡°What the heck is thiiiis???!!!!!¡± He started running as hard as he could trough the forest, falling a few times to the ground. He was lucky that the creature wasn''t that fast and had trouble changing directions. Paul started running hoping the creature would give up, but when he looked back he saw the creatures face..¡±Did it just smirk at me? That stupid pig¡± The pig liked to chase its prey. Paul decided that he can¡¯t escape by simply running and he looked around for a tree that he could climb. After a few minutes of running around and searching for a perfect tree, he finally found one and climbed it faster than he thought he could. He looked down and saw that the pig like creature became more angry and started charging at the tree. The tree didn''t even budge, but the pigs horn was stuck in the tree and couldn''t get it out. ¡°This is my chance!¡± he broke a branch the size of his arm and jumped on the pigs back and stabbed it in the neck. The creature felt that he was in danger of dying and started to squirm as hard as he could hoping the annoying human falls off him. Paul then took a deep breath and with all his strength he stabbed again the same place as hard as he could. The beast stopped moving and his legs gave out falling on its ass, because his horn was still stuck into the tree. Paul exhausted climbed of the creature and stabbed it again to be sure that its dead the fell to the ground on his back breathing deep. After a few minutes he stood up and used the ring to absorb the pig in his ring but couldn''t. He tried again. Didn''t work this time either. He thought that because the horn was stuck in the tree he couldn''t absorb it. He struggled for almost an hour before he succeeded removing the horn from the tree. He then tried again to absorb the pig¡¡±Finally it worked. This ring probably can¡¯t absorb things that are a certain size¡¡± Then he decided that it was time for him to eat and rest. He climbed back up the tree and found a cavity large enough for him to fit. He entered the cavity and took out some food and started eating. After he finished he remembered that while running and trying to survive earlier that the bracelet was sending him small beeping noises to his mind. ¡°I wonder what that was¡..¡± Suddenly in front of him the bracelet started showing him some windows.

Just as he was about to jump down he saw 3 wolves sniffing the blood of the horned pig. One of them even started to piss on the tree he was in. He put his hand on his mouth and started to breath slowly and tried to sneak back into the tree before the wolves hear him or see him. <> Paul closed his eyes and started to think about everything that happened, everything that he knows then he remembered. <> <> After a few minutes Paul opened his eyes slowly and then his bracelet sent him another window. <> He went out and saw that the wolves were gone. He climed down while making as little noise as possible and activated his skills and started running towards the village. Every 2 hours he needed to stop and rest. After a few hours he took out his map and food. While eating he saw that he was almost near the village. Only a few hours to go. After finishing to eat he put the map back into the ring and started heading towards the village. After 3 hours he reached the edge of the forest and felt something that he almost forgot. ¡°Ahhhhh¡¡the sun.I almost forgot how good it feels.¡± He lifted his head smiling closing his eyes, and spreading his arms to absorb the rays of pure bliss. He saw the village in the distance. Well he didn¡¯t see the buildings just a tall wooden fence. Then he looked at himself and saw that his plain, clothes that looked like they were made from a large piece of leather in the beginning were¡..ripped , scratched and full of blood. <> He looked around and saw a stream of water near the forest. He ran as fast as he could and 10 meters before the edge of the river he tripped and fell on his face in the ground. A window popped in his mind informing him that he lost 1 health. He got up and his face was a combination of embarrassment and anger and looked at the cause of his ¡°accident¡±. Instantly all his anger and embarrassment dissipated, and only shock could be seen on his pale face. < >>Next Chapter>> Vol.1 Chapter 3-Weakling
Quote:He got up and his face was a combination of embarrassment and anger and looked at the cause of his ¡°accident¡±. Instantly all his anger and embarrassment dissipated, and only shock could be seen on his pale face.
There was the body of a bald, thin man, dressed in a black leather armor. Paul was shocked. This was the first time he saw a dead body, but he quickly calmed down. ¡°This is weird¡It¡¯s the first time I saw a dead body but I got used to it so fast. Is something wrong with me? No, it can¡¯t be. Something must have changed in me when I arrived in this world, made me adapt easier to this world¡¯s situations. Now that I think about it better, if nothing had changed I would have probably lost my mind, or died before reaching this point¡± The next second Paul approached the body and looked carefully at the man. His face was pale, and his lips were purple and a foul smell came from his mouth. Paul quickly backed his head. ¡°Poison huh¡± Paul said a small prayer and removed everything from the body. The clothes were a bit large for him but they were still better than the ones he has on now. He also took a leather pouch. In it he found 5 gold, 8 silver and 35 bronze coins. He put the gold coins in the ring and the rest left in the pouch. He also found a letter that he couldn¡¯t open no matter how much strength he put in it and all he knew about it was that on it, it said ¡°Mrs. Onca¡±. After putting everything he found in a pile he took the body a few meters in the forest , took a branch and scratched the arm of the dead body and left it there thinking: "If any creature comes smelling the blood to feast on the body it will be poisoned and die and I will then take the creature bodies" After that he remembered his original objective. ¡°I need to clean myself¡I probably smell like a dead animal¡± He went to the river and started cleaning the blood, sweat and smell off him. After 2 minutes he came out of the water and tried on the new clothes. The shirt was just like the one he had before and it was in his size. The pants however¡were a bit long so he had to rip the ends a bit. Then he tried the black leather armor he also found earlier and it was too big. He put the armor in the ring and attached the pouch to his belt. After heading into the village he decided to rest and eat. While eating he also checked his bracelet, since it sent him mental messages but he didn¡¯t stop to check since he was too focused on getting out of the forest safe and as soon as possible.

After 30 minutes of resting and eating he went to check the body. When he arrived his eyes widened and his mouth stretched to his hears. The body was gone and in its stead there were 3 creatures on the ground. 2 grey wolf¡¯s and a black one. Paul knew that those were the same ones he saw in the forest earlier that day. The wolf¡¯s caught his smell and followed him until they found a new prey, the body Paul left as a trap. The body was completely gone. The wolf¡¯s even ate the bones and after eating they didn¡¯t felt any threats around and wanted to rest before catching up with Paul. That was their undoing. While relaxing the poison they ingested spread even faster and killed them in a few minutes. Paul approached carefully , as there might be another wolf somewhere hiding. He put the bodies into the ring and ran towards the village. As he approached the village he was more and more impressed. The village was large and the fence was huge. As soon as he approached the gate two men stopped him. -¡°Halt! State your business in Farhav!¡± -¡°I was hired to here to deliver a letter¡± -¡°Oh really? And for who might this letter be?¡± -¡° Mrs. Onca¡± As soon as Paul said the name the 2 guards blushed and coughed. Paul was surprised at their reaction and in his head the bracelet sent another message that he learned a new skill called Deception. He didn¡¯t even check since he knew what the skill is. The guards let him in and even helped him with direction to this Mrs. Onca. Paul¡¯s face was calm as he walked in the village but inside he was excited. He finally arrived in the village, and thanks to the letter he entered without any problems. The village looked even larger from the inside. There were my different types of houses, some made with wood some with stone, some big some small. Then he arrived in the center of the village. There were a few big and important looking buildings. At the entrance into these buildings there was written what that building is. He looked and saw the inn, the general guild testing facility, the brothel, the barracks, a building belonging to a guild called Sun Star, and a gate on which there was written crafting market that lead to the back of the village. According to the guards Mrs.Onca was in the brothel. So Paul gathered up courage and headed to the brothel. As soon as he entered he found himself greeted by a beautiful young lady dressed in thin revealing clothes. -¡°Welcome beautiful. How can I make you happy?¡± -¡°I have a letter for Mrs.Onca¡± -¡°Wait here. I will go and let her know¡± She ran to the back and went up some stairs into a room. 5 minutes later she ran back and told Paul that she is waiting for him in her office. She took him to the door and opened the door and told him to enter. Paul entered and the door closed behind him. Paul then noticed that inside the room smelled really nice. A lady stood in the middle on the table. She was older than the one he met before but more 10 times more beautiful. She was a tall thin lady with long black hair, green eyes. She was thin but had big breasts When she opened her mouth to speak Paul¡¯s heart skipped a beat. -¡°I heard that you have something for me¡± -¡°Huh? Oh yes. A letter¡± He handed her the letter and she opened it without any effort. She took out the paper and started reading it with a serious face. After she finished reading she looked at Paul and smiled seductively. In the next instant she was gone. Paul surprised stared at the place she was before. Then all of a sudden a knife appeared at his neck from behind. Paul froze like a statue. He knew that if he makes the wrong move he will die. Then a voice whispered in his ears, the same voice belonging to the lady that disappeared right in front of him. -¡°Don¡¯t move. Answer all my questions without lying and I might let you go.¡± -¡°I understand¡± Paul knew that the lady was powerful. If he lied or did anything that would offend her he will definitely die. -¡°Where did you get this letter¡± -¡°From a dead body I found outside the village¡± -¡°Did you kill him?¡± -¡°No!¡± -¡°Do you know who did?¡± -¡°No, but he was poisoned¡± Unauthorized usage: this tale is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings.-¡°Poisoned you say¡and how do you know that?¡± -¡°His lips were purple and his mouth smelled really bad¡± -¡°hmmmmm¡± -¡°I¡¯m telling the truth¡± -¡°I know.¡± Then Paul relaxed a bit and felt on his back something soft and warm. It was the body of the lady more importantly her breasts. Paul blushed and the lady released him while chuckling softly. The lady than told him that she won¡¯t hurt him and asked him if he was okay. ¡°I¡¯m okay but I have a question¡± ¡°Do tell.¡± ¡°I see you only have thin clothes on.¡± ¡°Yes. What is your question?¡± ¡°Where did you keep your knife?¡± The lady started laughing loudly and didn¡¯t stop for a few minutes. While she was laughing he noticed that he got +15 Fighting Spirit. +10 Charisma After she stopped laughing she introduced herself. ¡°My name is Onca Nori. A pleasure to meet you handsome. I¡¯m the owner of this building¡± ¡°My name is Paul Silver and ahmm¡ you are very beautiful¡± Paul blushed a bit while he said that and so did Nori. -¡°Ohh¡..brave, funny and charming. Everything I want in a man. Anyway since you helped get this letter to me I will help you in any way I can¡± -¡°Was that letter important?¡± -¡°Well, I think I can trust you so I will tell you. The letter was from a friend in the capital who informed me that the small army will arrive sooner than expected to be prepared.¡± -¡°Prepared for what?¡± -¡°For the possible arrival of an advent in this village¡± -¡°Why would they send an army for just an advent?¡± -¡°Don¡¯t you know?¡± -¡°Well I lived in the forest with my grandpa¡± He said a lie forgetting what happened earlier. The lady didn¡¯t seem to notice though and continued. -¡°Because every advent that arrived in this world is at least class A, and they sometimes destroyed the village they appeared in. So to prevent this the kingdom sent small armies to every village they know of before the advent appears. The army is to restrain and escort the advent to the nearest fort and see if he is going to work for the kingdom.¡± -¡°And if they decide they don¡¯t want to work for the kingdom? Then what?¡± -¡°They are removed from this world obviously. But there are exceptions some are too powerful and escape the army, and are considered criminals.¡° -¡°How do they tell if one is an advent?¡± -¡°Well when they arrive in this world they sometimes go berserk. And the other way is to check for a bracelet. Advents when they arrive in this world don¡¯t have one.¡± -¡°What if they get one?¡± -¡°That is almost never the case. And even so the army locks down the villages not letting anybody leave and check the stats of everyone¡± -¡°They lock down the village? For how long?¡± Paul was learning more and more. -¡°Well they will arrive sometime tomorrow to start preparing prepare. Starting next week the second sun appears and that means that the advent can appear anytime the second sun is visible. The second sun usually is visible for about 3 months. Until the second sun disappears no one is allowed to leave the village¡± -¡°So in 3 days no one can leave the village for quite some time?¡± -¡°Yes. Now if you excuse me I have things to prepare since the army will arrive. I will prepare a room for you for as long as you like. Just come back in 2 hours and find the girl who you first met when you entered the building she will lead you to your room.¡± Paul left the building and headed to the his next destination. The guild testing facility. As he entered the building he noticed that it was empty with the exception of an old lady at a desk. He approached her. -¡°Hello. My name is Paul Silver I would like to know a few things¡± -¡°Yeah, yeah. Just ask your questions already¡± The old lady had an annoyed face and tone. -¡°What can you tell me about the guild testing facility and process¡± -¡°Are you an idiot? Did you live under a rock or something? Well either way, the guild testing facility was created to test the strength of all wannabe adventurers like you. The first time the test is free. After that to take the test again you need guild points. The higher your guild class is the more guild points you need.¡± -¡°¡±How do you earn guild points?¡± -¡°Just as I expected another stupid question¡Well there are a few ways to earn guild points. The first one is to do quests from the quest board by absorbing into the bracelet the quest you desire. You can only take the quests that are the same class as you or lower. The second one is to take quests directly from individuals. These are absorbed automatically by your bracelet. The third one is to kill living beings, after you kill them you touch them with your hand and say --Slayer¡¯s touch--. The stronger they are the more guild points you receive. The last one is to discover new places such as dungeons, ruins, unexplored areas. Your bracelet automatically knows when you discover such a place and depending on the location you get a certain number of guild points.¡± -¡°Can I take the exam now?¡± -¡°Sure just put your hand on that crystal ball over there and say ¨CUPDATE-. It will look at you stats and rank you. Your rank will then appear on your stats. Paul then walked to the crystal and then he remembered that he has a ridiculous amount of luck. He activated Humble Mask and lowered the luck down to 10. Then he put his hand on the crystal. The crystal became hot and started to shine. It scanned Paul¡¯s stats. Then it became cool again and turned back to it¡¯s original black color. Then his bracelet shined for a second. Paul then wanted to see if it worked and said ¡°Status¡±

¡°Oh it worked¡huh? What is this?! Why is my title WEAKLING?! I¡¯m not that weak¡± The old woman who was all grumpy was now laughing. Then he got a message +1 Fame ¨C An old lady will remember you as the weakling until you prove otherwise. He then left the building in a hurry still hearing the old lady laughing. Enough time passed and he decided to go to the brothel to find the accommodation he was promised by Nori. He entered the brothel and was that the young girl he met earlier came to him. -¡°Please follow me Mr.Silver. I will lead you to your room¡± -¡°Please call me Silver¡± The girl blushed and increased the pace. She took him behind the brothel to a rundown cottage and pointed towards it. Paul thanked her and went inside. The inside didn''t look so bad. It was one big room with a table, a chair and a bed. On the table there was enough food to eat for 2 days. As soon as he saw the food his stomach made a loud noise. ¡°I guess I should eat as much as I can than go to sleep. Tomorrow the army arrives and I will need to be careful with my actions¡± Paul eat until he was full then walked outside and saw that the moon was shining. He stared at the moon for a few minutes then went to bed. As soon as he put his head down he fell asleep. The next morning he felt like he was in the clouds. He felt really comfortable. Still sleepy he put his hand in front of him trying to grab the cloud. As soon as he tried to grab the cloud a loud moan ringed in his ears. ¡°Aaaaah¡ not so hard¡..you pervert!¡± she whispered softly. Surprised he opened his eyes and saw that he was squeezing someone¡¯s breasts. For an instant he forgot and focused on the soft and hot feeling in his hand. Then he suddenly blushed and took his hand away and in a hurry confused by the situation he fell from the bed. Then he looked up still red like a tomato to see who was that woman. ¡°You¡what? What happened?! Wh, wh, why are you here¡± He stuttered embarrassed. < >>Next Chapter Vol.1 Chapter 4-A plan and 256
Quote:Then he looked up still red like a tomato to see who was that woman. ¡°You¡what? What happened?! Wh, wh, why are you here¡± He stuttered embarrassed.
On the bed smiling at Paul was Nori. -¡°I figured you would be lonely and I did say I would help you however I can for you. And you seemed to enjoy it.¡± -¡°That that¡¯s¡.¡± -¡°Relax¡I¡¯m only joking.¡± She said while grinning with her eyes fixed on Paul like a hunter looking at it¡¯s prey. After dressing up they went to the inn together to eat. While heading to the inn Paul could feel the stares of every man and even some killing intent. Then Nori locked arms with Paul and the killing intent increased. Paul could hear the men swearing and cursing him. When they reached the inn Nori ordered some food for both of them. Paul looked worried when he saw the food. It looked expensive. ¡°Don¡¯t worry. My treat¡± said Nori enjoying seeing all the expressions Paul made. While eating, Paul told her that he wishes to learn some crafting skills and all the skills that he needs to survive in the wild. Hearing this Nori gave Paul some advice. ¡°Paul, I know you wish to learn the skills but people don¡¯t trust strangers. Especially if you want to learn from the best you will need to learn from the dwarfs and elves. And they don¡¯t like humans that much, especially trusting them with their skills. First you should do some quests for them. Look at the quest board. It¡¯s filled with H rank quests since the guilds don¡¯t really do those quests since they don¡¯t pay well. The only ones doing it are the young kids and some quests are impossible for them. These quests will help you know the village and the people and most importantly the people will get to know you and in turn trust you.¡± She had a point. Paul planned this to a certain extent but hearing it from someone else was reassuring. -¡°Thank you Mrs.Onca for you advice¡± -¡°Call me Nori!¡± -¡°Thank you..ehmmmNori¡± Hearing her name said by a man she blushed. Paul didn¡¯t know why but seeing her blush he was feeling happy. Then NoriHould out her hand touched Paul and said ¡°Register friend¡± The bracelet showed a window in front of Paul.
You received a friend request from OncaNori
Accept by saying YES or deny by saying NO.
Paul looked at Nori. She was smiling. -¡°YES¡± -¡°Ok Paul¡now I can talk to you anytime I want. If you need anything from me just think of me and say Contact and we will be able to talk¡± Nori kept grinning like a child that received a present. After finishing Paul left Nora at the inn since she said she has some business there. Paul headed to the quest board. The quest board was huge, there were hundreds of quests on it. He started looking at the different H rank quests. Some were to help with cleaning, some to gather apples, some to cut some wood, all sort of boring thought Paul. Paul then remembered he doesn¡¯t know how to accept quests. He knows that he has to absorb them but doesn¡¯t know how. Paul put his hand on a quest and said ¨CAbsorb--. Nothing happened. Then he tried ---Quest Accepted--. Again nothing happened. Then a young kid appeared next to him. He looked around 10 with brown hair and brown eyes. He reached for a quest, put his hand on it and said ¡°H Rank quest¡..¡± Then he whispered something. Paul didn¡¯t hear the last part but then he saw that the quest disappeared from the board and the kid ran off. Paul then put his hand on the board and said. ¡°H Rank quest¡± All of a sudden all the H rank quests got accepted by Paul. The board was now almost empty, only about 50 quests remaining and only because they were a higher rank. A window appeared in front of Paul and his jaw dropped.
H Rank Quest¡¯s accepted
You have accepted 265 quest¡¯s! You have two weeks to finish the quest¡¯s before you lose the quest¡¯s. Warning: Not finishing a quest will make the familiarity with the quest giver to drop.
"265 quest¡¯s for 153 people. Great just great¡how did this happen? Don¡¯t I have a high luck stat?" Everyone that was around was looking at Paul with their mouth open , thinking that they must be dreaming, no normal person could finish that many quests in a month. Paul then got alerted that he got +30 Fame Paul looked around and when he saw everyone staring at him he ran into a back alley. There he sat on the ground having a bit of a panic attack. Then he remembered. "Jonathan¡¯s pills" He got the pouch out of the ring and looked inside. Inside the pouch there were pills that looked like black peas. He then realized that there aren¡¯t 50 like Jonathan said. There are only about 20 of them. Jonathan probably forgot, he was old after all He then realized that he had a skill that can help him. He used Identify on one of the pills.
Limit Pill
Ingesting this pill will eliminate the need for food, water, sleep. Will also increase stamina regeneration by 300% Duration:7 days Warning: After the 7 day you must sleep or you might lose your life.
Then he checked the ring
Storage Ring
Durability: Infinite
This ring can store any item by opening a pocket dimension and preserve it in the same condition that it was absorbed in since time stops in this dimension. Able to send and bring back anything from this dimension. Living things cannot be absorbed. Bond to Paul Silver.
He got up and while looking at the number of quests yelled. ¡°CHALLENGE ACCEPTED¡± Paul ingested one of the pills put the rest back and for the next 5 hours he ran around the village finishing as many quests as possible. He did 4 quests before stopping. The first 3 were easy, and Paul finished them in about 3 hours. The last one was hard. He had to clean a large garden full of weeds and didn''t have any tools. The only reason he stopped it¡¯s because the army arrived in the village. Paul stopped for the next 30 minutes to check out the army to rest his mind and eyes from seeing weeds. There were about 60 soldiers. The soldiers were all wearing identical shiny white armor. Some were wearing swords and some spears. The only exception were the 5 people leading them. 3 of them were huge and looked like barbarians. They had 3 large sword and were sitting on their horses. In front of them there was a man with a brown robe on. He didn¡¯t have any weapons. he must be a mage And finally the one that looked like their leader was a tall man with huge muscles. He had golden short hair. His sword was black with a silver edge. He was on the biggest horse. It looked like the horse was given steroids. They stopped in the center and with a voice clear and loud like thunder the leader yelled. ¡°We are here to prepare for the possibility of an advent! Starting this moment no one is allowed to leave the village until the second sun disappears! We will start checking the stats of everyone suspicious once the second sun appears! If you do not follow my instruction I¡¯ve been given permission to throw you in prison or kill you on the spot. That¡¯s all!!!¡± The soldiers then spread around and closed the village gates. 20 of them and one of the barbarians made camp at the entrance. The other one in the village center and the last one in the crafting district. The leader with the possible mage headed towards the inn probably to get a fancy room. Paul then decided to get back to the quests since he didn¡¯t have time to waste on the captain yet. For the next 10 hours Paul continued doing quests like a mad man but from the perspective of the villagers he was looking calm, with a polite smile on his face. While doing the quest¡¯s he had his Aura Shift activated all the time. He finished another 15 quests. For the quest¡¯s that were for the blacksmith Teo, the tailor Jinx, the cook Archie and others he thought he could learn useful skills from he paid extra attention. Paul was using Aura Shift to be perceived as hardworking, happy with a small mix of nobility to make them feel like he was doing doing a bigger favor for them, than he actually did so that he got a better reward for the quests and increase the familiarity with them. When he stopped to relax he noticed that it was dark and only a few people were outside. Most of them were sleeping. While relaxing he checked his stats since the bracelet kept sending him notifications.

Since the people went to sleep Paul didn¡¯t have much of a choice and had to do the quests that need him to gather, clean, cut anything that doesn¡¯t need the quest giver to be present. So for the next 8 hours he started doing those quests. And thanks to his perception skill, he could see in the dark pretty well, even without the torches that were present from place to place. In those 8 hours he did 12 quests. Almost all these quests were quite easy the only problem was that they were similar and very repetitive. He saw that the sun started to rise and people started to wake up. So he sat down on a bench in the village square and watched the people preparing for the day. Even the soldiers became more active and started to walk through the village. Paul avoided them since he didn¡¯t want problems, and at night when he saw a soldier he hid since it would seem he would seem suspicious. He decided to not check his stats and skills until he finishes the quests. The only time he saw a window from his bracelet was when he looked at his next quest. For the next 15 hours or so he did another 20 quests. At night he did 13. The next day he saw that there were two suns just like he heard there will be and the soldiers became more vigilant so he had to be more careful with his movements. At night he used to sneak, jump and climb a lot to avoid the soldiers. All this became a routine, doing the similar amount of quests every day. After the week was over Paul and having left 63 quests, went to his room and sat down on the bed. He wanted to check his stats but he promised himself not to, until he finishes the quests. That will be my reward for all this work. Now I must go to sleep. I already told Nori to not be disturbed for the next 24 hours so I should be OK. Mentally exhausted from focusing all the time he dropped on the bed That day, while Paul was sleeping like he was in a coma, rumors started appearing about him. Of course the rumors were spread by the people he did the quests for. At the end of the week, when they met in the inn they started talking about their last week. They all mentioned someone was helping them. They all described the young man that was helping them. When they shared the stories, they realized that it can¡¯t be the same man because that means that young man didn¡¯t rest for a whole week and he helped 118 people by doing about 150 quests by himself. They all agreed to call this person the hardworking noble because for some reason they felt like someone with noble blood was helping them with chores. Fortunately the villagers didn''t trust the soldiers and didn''t tell them about Paul. That day they kept looking to see if the hardworking noble was working hoping to catch a glimpse to see if the rumors were true or not. After all the rumors sounded kind of like a lie. The next morning Paul woke up. Since he felt rusty form sleeping 24 hours he started stretching for about half an hour when he saw interrupted by Nori with a huge plate of food. Paul didn''t need to eat food for a week but now all that hunger struck him. He started eating, grabbing and putting in his mouth as much as he could. Nori was watching him staring at the smiling. As soon as he slowed down a bit she said -¡°There is a rumor about someone that looks like you¡.you know¡± -¡°Mhhm, and what do these rumors say?¡± -¡°That there is a someone who helped a lot of people for very little for a whole week without sleeping. .¡± -¡°So?¡± -¡°Sooo¡.i want you to know that if you need help just ask. I¡¯m your¡¡.friend you know.¡± Paul looked her in the eyes and said with a grin like he knew something -¡°I know and just so you know you can also ask me for help¡± -¡°Wha, what? How do you know I need help?¡± -¡°I didn¡¯t say that you need help, I just offered. Was I right?¡± She blushed a bit and a bit angry that she was tricked and said -¡°Well it¡¯s true that I have a problem but I don¡¯t think you can help me after all you are not powerful enough¡± -¡°Maybe not¡I know you are powerful and can¡¯t solve it so maybe I can help another way. Just tell me and maybe together we could work something out¡± -¡°Welll¡.¡± -¡°I¡¯m more dependable than I look¡.after all I¡¯m the famous helper hahahahaha¡± -¡°Allright I understand¡I have a problem with¡*mublemuble*¡± -¡°Sorry? Didn¡¯t quite get that¡± -¡°I said, I have a problem with Rocka.¡± -¡°Huh?Rocka? Who is¡.ohhhh¡you mean the army captain. What is the problem?¡± -¡°Well since I run the brothel, he thought that i am, you know¡.¡± -¡°I know you¡¯re not. You only run the place instead of your friend. And?¡± -¡°Well he tried to buy me, but when I refused he got angry and started shouting. Thankfully there were many people around and he left, promising that I will be his.¡± -¡°Hahaha, really?¡± -¡°Yes¡now stop laughing and help me out¡± -¡°Ok, ok. To be able to help you I must know a few things¡.about you.¡± -¡°What do you want to know?¡± -¡°I want to know who are you exactly¡You are definitely not just a regular person. You are very strong and when we first met I didn¡¯t even see you move.¡± -¡°Ahmm¡.I will tell you if you promise to keep it a secret.¡± -¡°I promise¡± -¡°Well I am¡one of the lieutenants of a guild that specializes in¡.how should I put this¡.information gathering.¡± -¡°So you are thieves?¡± -¡°NO! Well¡sometimes. We use our skills to gather information that was requested, and sometimes assassinations. I only gather information, just so you know.¡± -¡°Wow¡.and what are you doing here?¡± -¡°I am watching a branch of one of the guilds from the capital. You know the only one in the village, but sadly only a few low level members are present at the moment¡± -¡°I see¡..anything else I should know?¡± -¡°No¡.that¡¯s all¡± -¡°I hope so¡.¡± Paul looked at her and started to run different plans and simulations in his head when suddenly he got it. -¡°I have a plan to help you, but you will have to use some of you particular skills.¡± -¡°Already? Do tell¡± -¡°Well I¡¯m sure you have a few people under you.¡± -¡°Yes, I have around 5 girls, one of them who you already met¡± -¡°I met one already?Who?¡± -¡°When you first came to me you talked to a girl¡¡± -¡°Really? Oh well¡either way I need you to ask them to spread rumors about you being engaged to me and also spread different rumors about how I look¡± She looked at Paul and with a small smile appearing on the corners of the mouth she asked -¡°Are you asking me to marry you?¡± -¡°What? No! It¡¯s part of the plan¡± -¡°I see, I see¡.then continue¡± -¡°When Rocka approaches you again say that you are engaged, confirming the rumors he definitely heard. He will then try to find me. Since he doesn¡¯t know how I look it will take some time. While he is searching for me I will try to gather some information about him and see what are his weaknesses.¡± -¡°What about when he finds you?¡± -¡°Don¡¯t worry, I will have something then. For now try to always be surrounded by people¡± -¡°I sure hope this plan of yours works¡¡± Paul then took another Limit Pill and went back to doing quests while avoiding Rocka and his soldiers. For the next week Paul did quests¡and at night he spied on the soldiers and Rocka. The last quest took him the longest¡the first 62 he did in 3 days but the last one he had to catalogue all the books in the library. The library wasn¡¯t that big.. but it still took him a long time to finish. This week Paul avoided having his stats read, by soldiers who were randomly asking people for their stats. Paul then went to bed and slept like a baby. Paul being mentally exhausted didn¡¯t realize the transformation se suffered for the last 2 weeks. < >>Next Chapter>> Vol.1 Chapter 5-The bet
Quote:Paul being mentally exhausted didn¡¯t realize the transformation se suffered for the last 2 weeks.
While being focused on finishing quests, he increased his stats by a huge amount, he was now considered a friend by everybody in the village even the dwarfs and elves that don¡¯t like humans that much. Everyone considered Paul reliable and hardworking. Physically he didn¡¯t change much at first glance but at a closer look, all his muscles were now perfectly defined, and while not having huge muscles like the soldiers in the village he still had their strength. Of course he wasn¡¯t more powerful than the average solider from the army since he didn¡¯t know how to fight and didn¡¯t have any battle experience. Paul¡¯s stats showed him to be a H ranker but that¡¯s only because he didn¡¯t went to the guild tester yet. The next day he woke up and next to the bed on the table there was a huge amount of food and some new clothes. Paul knew who brought him the food and clothes "Thank you Nori". He eat all the food and then tried on the new clothes her received from Nori. The clothes were a huge improvement over the ones he had before. There were a pair of black pants, a white shirt and a pair of brown furry boots. He also saw that the he received some light reinforced leather armor and a pair of gloves that went up to the elbow. The leather armor with a hood was comfortable and light but still offered protection. The gloves were similar to the leather armor but they had a bits of metal on them for increased protection. The armor he had now offered some light protection and also looked pretty good on Paul. He didn¡¯t put on the good though. Then he looked at his hand and although he couldn¡¯t see the bracelet he could finally see what he gained in the last 2 weeks. "Show updates"

"So some skills reached intermediary even the new ones¡I probably used them without even knowing. I will check them later." Paul then remembered that he still had in the ring the bodies of the 3 wolf¡¯s and the horned pig. He took them out and touched the pig and said ¡±Slayer¡¯s touch.". He got notified that he received 5 guild points. He did the same thing on the wolf¡¯s. Each of the grey wolf¡¯s gave him 10 guild points and the black one gave him 20. He absorbed them then back into the ring This book''s true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience. Paul went out and headed toward the guild testing facility. On the way people recognized him, everybody was smiling and thanking him for his help. The soldiers were all watching him confused, since they had no idea what was going on. He was feeling quite proud of his achievement. Two weeks ago everybody was ignoring him and didn¡¯t trust him. The soldiers were already a bit suspicions of Paul, but when they tried to approach him at the next corner he already vanished. The soldiers went and reported that he is heading to the village center to their captain. Paul had no idea, he was too busy enjoying the attention. When he reached the guild testing facility just before he went in, a hand grabbed him from behind and threw him a on his back. Confused he looked around and saw that he was surrounded by soldiers who were holding their swords ready. Paul realized then that the one who threw him was captain Rocka, who was smirking at how weak Paul was. Then he said to Paul who was dusting himself off -¡°You have been reported suspicious! Show me you stats! Fast before I behead you!¡± Paul thinking quick on his feet he lowered all his stats to an average of 30 with Humble Mask and displayed the stats so that Rocka could see it as well. Rocka was looking at the window when all of sudden he said -¡°You¡¯re Paul Silver!? The one engaged to the woman I desire?!¡± -¡°Yes I am. A pleasure to meet you¡aahmmm who are you?¡± Paul asked him with a straight face and tilting his head pretending he didn¡¯t know him. When Rocka heard that, he became red with anger and said proudly with a loud tone -¡°I am Rocka, Knight Captain of the 12th division of the royal army of Calvarno. I am one of the heroes sent to protect this village from the cursed advents!¡± Then he stopped and all of a sudden all the soliders started applauding. They didn¡¯t look happy. "It looks like they are made to do this quite often" Rocka then looked at Paul¡¯s stats more carefully and started laughing. -¡°Hahahahahah, are you telling me that she loves such a weak worm like you???Even your title is Weakling!!! Hahahahahahahhaha hahahaha¡¡.¡± -¡°I may be weak but you would lose to me¡± Rocka stopped laughing and with an angy face asked -¡°Are you clallenging me to a fight?!¡± -¡°No no¡.nothing like that¡± -¡°I want to make a bet with you, a bet that you will surely lose¡± Paul learned while following the soldiers at night that Rocka loved to fight and win. The thing he loved more than fighting were women. And the thing he love most was gambling, he loved to win¡± -¡°Hohoooo, a bet you say? And what makes you so sure I would lose¡± -¡°Take the bet and you will see¡± -¡°What is this bet and conditions?¡± -¡°If you win the bet I will never see Mrs.Onca again and be your slave for 3 months. I will do whatever you want. But if I win the bet then you must leave Mrs.Onca alone and you will owe me a favor. While the bet is on you cannot bother Mrs.Onca. What do you think of these conditions?¡± -¡°Interesting¡.but what are we betting on?¡± -¡°I bet that while the two suns keep appearing up in the sky that you can¡¯t find the advent in this village, prove that he is an advent, touch his head and say CAPTURED¡± Rocka didn¡¯t even hesitate and said agreed to the bet. They shook hands and the bracelets shined creating a contract between Paul and Rocka. Paul already knew that Rocka would agree to the bet, but he thought that at least he would hesitate. The reason Paul knew that Rocka would take this bet it¡¯s because one night while following him he heard him, talking to the mage about how the kingdom¡¯s most famous seer predicted that an advent will appear in this village. The seer never made a mistake, so Rocka was convinced that an advent will appear. He accepted the bet only because he was 100% sure he would win. Rocka ordered the soldiers to return to their posts and walked away feeling like he won already. Paul then, after they left let out a small "Heh..." while smirking. After the soldiers left Nori appeared next to Paul and kicked his shin. Paul started jumping on one leg in pain. -¡°What did you do that for?!¡± -¡°What do you mean, what I did that for??? What did you do!? Why did you make that bet with him?! What if you lose?!¡± -¡°Stop, calm down¡Don¡¯t worry I won¡¯t lose.¡± -¡°How do you know that ?!¡± -¡°Trust me¡.and until the two suns disappear he won¡¯t bother you and after that¡.well we will figure something out¡± -¡°I hope you¡¯re right. As a thank you for this I transferred 200 guild points to you.¡± Nori and Paul then went each their own way. Paul headed back to the guild testing facility and entered. The old lady seeing him started smirking. -¡°Hehehe, the weakling returned. I heard some rumors of you even here where people only visit one or twice a week. So? What do you want?¡± -¡°I¡¯m here to check if I still get the same rank¡± -¡°You do know that you still use up guild points even if you get the same rank right?¡± -¡°Yes¡± -¡°Well just head to the crystal and repeat the drill. The crystal will automatically absorb the required guild points. For you H rank you would use, if I remember correctly, 600 guild points. So be sure that you will rank up.¡± -¡°Yes, I¡¯m sure. Thank you¡± Paul then activated humble mask and lowered only his luck down to 50, he left the rest alone. He put his hand on the crystal and the crystal let out a bright light and then stopped. It was exactly the same as last time. Then the first he did was check his title. "Well at least it¡¯s better than the last one" < >>Next Chapter>> Vol.1 Chapter 6-The chase
Quote:Paul then activated humble mask and lowered only his luck down to 50, he left the rest alone. He put his hand on the crystal and the crystal let out a bright light and then stopped. <> Paul satisfied showed her new title to the old lady who. ¡°Show title to the old lady¡± . She was surprised by a window appearing in from of her but her face didn¡¯t show it . She was still smiling satisfied at the title. Paul still a bit disappointed that he didn¡¯t get a cool title left the building with his shoulders dropped. Then she talked to Nori with his bracelet to find out where she is. She said she was waiting for him at the inn. Paul went slowly to the inn, it was the first time in a long time that he was relaxed. He didn¡¯t have anything major to worry about. As soon as he entered the inn he saw Nori at a table drinking some ale. Paul went and sit next to her at the table. -¡°Well look who it is¡..The snail finally arrived¡± -¡°Snail? What do you mean?¡± -¡°You are late, two hours late!¡± -¡°I apologise i was¡..enjoying the peace¡± -¡°Are you saint i¡¯m noisy?!¡± -¡°What?! NO! I meant that i finally ranked up and wanted to see my stats, title, skills ¡± Nori calmed down and smiled. -¡°You swear?¡± -¡°Yes, i swear¡± -¡°Now that i have you here, join me for a drink while we talk¡± -¡°Sure¡.¡± They talked for a while about what happened since they met, they laughed about the captain, and then silence fell. Then Nori spoke up first -¡°So how can i help you. I know you didn¡¯t come here just to chat.¡± -¡°I figured that, you have some tips about what should i do about my nonexistent fighting skills¡± -¡°haha, that¡¯s true. Well i know of a way to improve yourself. First you are going to need to learn how to avoid and defend against attacks.I only know how to avoid so that¡¯s what i¡¯m going to teach you. Secondly you need to learn how to attack. That¡¯s it. The rest comes with experience from fighting different types of enemies.¡± -¡°I see. When can we begin?¡± -¡°Right now if you want but you can¡¯t use any skills¡¡± -¡°In here? She then left out a weird smile. -¡°Yes. Then let¡¯s begin.¡± -¡°Sure¡± She stood up and climbed the table. And with a voice louder and clearer than the captain mustered before she yelled. -¡°Attention, Attention. I have an announcement for all of you.¡± Everybody went silent and watched Nori Who was spreading her arms and talking in a loud crystal voice that shacked their inner core. Then she continued -¡°Anybody who succeeds in catching this man here , Paul Silver, until tomorrows last ray of light, will get a Special reward from me.¡± she said the last part especially loud and then she winked at Paul. -¡°If not the reward goes to him¡± shed pointed at Paul Everybody in the inn went nuts. They all cheered and screamed at the top of their lungs. Suddenly they all went quiet. All 70 people then stared at Paul, and the time seemed to stop. There was so much killing intent that you could cut it with a knife. At the next second everybody jumped and tried to catch Paul. Paul thanks to his high luck somehow escaped the initial attack and found his way to the door. He ran out with screaming ¡°Damn you Nori!!!!¡± The villagers hearing him say her name, got even more motivated and their main goal changed from trying to get the special reward Nori mentioned to truing to stop Paul from getting it. The people outside were shocked to see a man running out of the inn with 70 people running after him. Paul ran as fast as he could not looking back at the mob running after him. After a few hours exhausted and a few close calls he managed to lose them for a few minutes to rest and drink some whiter from a barrel he found. He noticed while hiding that the number of people doubled in size. He now realised how popular Nori was among the villagers. After resting for a few more minutes he was spotted by a kid. The next second he was surrounded. Everybody then launched at Paul. Paul then started to avoid the hands that were trying to grab him, but it was hard. Just as he avoided a hand, another appeared. After a half hour of struggling he finally broke the circle and escaped. Every time he escaped and rested a bit he would get spotted and surrounded. The villagers only got smarted and started working together. The made traps, they worked in teams and they were getting faster and faster. Just as he got used to them and started avoiding the attacks easier the numbers increased again, making it more though. About 15 hours passed, and the villagers only got more motivated. They were like they took the Limit Pill from Paul. The Limit Pill in this case for them it was their desire. The desire to get the reward and to stop Paul from getting it. Sometime in the middle even soldiers started mixing in with the villagers. They were though. Each solider was as touch as 10 villagers. Fortunately the lieutenants and captain didn¡¯t join. Some of the soldiers also were required to keep working. At the end he was chased by the whole village, kids, men, women, old people and soldiers. He was exhausted, went past his limits, but wouldn¡¯t stop. And just as the last ray of light disappeared he collapsed on the ground. Seeing this everybody¡¯s first instinct was to grab him, but they were all stopped by the appearance of Nori who chuckled at Paul who passed out already. And under the angry faces of everybody, she kneeled and whispered in his ears: -¡°That¡¯s what you get for keeping me waiting for you¡But i guess you succeeded and you deserve a reward.¡± She then looked at the villagers who were watching every action like hawks, and slightly blushed a bit then gave him a kiss on the forehead. Everybody seeing this, became like statues. Nori blushed even more. Then she slapped Paul, who woke up at the shock. The villagers faced then turned from an angry ogre back to their original faces. One left out a small laugh that triggered everybody to laugh as hard as they could. This was the most fun they had in a long time. Paul confused stood up and looked at the image in from of him. People as many as the eye can see who were all full of sweat, were laughing so hard that some of them had trouble breathing. Some were still standing but most of them were on the ground. Paul seeing this image, felt warm inside and started smiling. He didn¡¯t care about what happened earlier. After they laughed their hearts out the people started leaving. Paul left as well with the help of Nori since his legs were hurting. When they arrived at the shack, Paul fell on the bed. then Nori said -¡°Tomorrow we shall see about learning how to attack. Don¡¯t worry, it will be easier than this. Now go to sleep¡± Nori left thinking that Paul was going to sleep. She was wrong, Paul decided that before he sleeps he needs to review the last 24 hours to improve himself more. He activated his Memo skill and relived the last 24 hours. He realised how much wasted movement he used while avoiding the villagers. He finished reliving the last 24 hours but in reality since he activated his skill only 30 minutes passed. Realising this Paul used the skill 2 more times . Then he remembered his bracelet and decided to check the updates. "Show updates"

The next day he got woken up by Nori. She then took him to the guild testing facility. Paul noticing where they are going told Nori that he already went to the testing facility. -¡°Don¡¯t worry. Nori laughed softly and reassured him that this is something that very few have the opportunity to do. -¡°If it¡¯s that good why isn¡¯t it more popular¡± -¡°Well people in you situation are quite rare.¡± -¡°My situation?¡± -¡°Being a ranked guild member who hasn¡¯t learned how to fight yet. Many are training since kids from different teachers so that they can join a guild.¡± -¡°I see¡¡± Just as they walked in they greeted the old lady and asked her if the fighting test facility is free. With a suspicious look she nodded in agreement. Nori smiled and lead Paul further back trough some doors. They arrived in the back of the facility and in front of Paul there was a cube. A huge cube. With a small door and a small crystal next to it. Nori liked shocking Paul. She chuckled and said -¡°This is your new teacher. This is where you will be learning how to fight for the next period of time.¡± -¡°It¡¯s a big cube with a door. It looks like a prison.¡± -¡°Appearances can be deceiving. This is a magical building that¡..i won¡¯t ruin the surprise.¡± -¡°Nori?!¡± -¡°Calm down¡don¡¯t worry.¡± -¡°I can¡¯t calm down seeing you smile like that¡± -¡°There are a few things you need to know before entering.¡± -¡°What?¡± Paul was looking with suspicious eyes at Nori who was chuckling. -¡°don¡¯t look at me like that. You will like this. I promise¡± -¡°sigh¡..I understand¡± -¡°To enter through the door you need guild points. The more guild points you put in the more you are allowed to stay inside. You need 1 guid point per hour. When you touch the crystal you chose the type of weapon you want. Then the door opens.¡± -¡°I understand¡± Paul headed to the crystal and as Nori left she yelled at him -¡°And remember you can¡¯t get hurt inside, or die!¡± Paul looked back and yelled ¡°What is that supposed to mean?!¡± But Nori was already gone. Paul gathered up courage and went to the crystal. The crystal scanned his stats and then a large amount of weapons to chose from appeared in front of him. All type of swords, knives, daggers, bows, weapons he didn¡¯t recognize, even weapons that looked just plain weird. He liked the idea of swords but they would attract a lot of attention. Then he remembered that Rocka also uses a sword, so he instantly removed the swords from the equation. Then he saw the dagger. He quite liked it. He decided on the dagger. He then noticed that he could dual-wield daggers so he chose that. He chose that because he though he would look cooler. One is good, two is better. As soon as he chose to dual-wielding daggers the door opened and the guild points were removed. He put his head in and looked carefully inside and saw that inside the box was bigger than the outside. It was a straight terrain and nothing else. At the entrance on the ground were two daggers. Seeing that no on is inside he went in and the door closed behind him. He looked at the daggers suspiciously before deciding to pick them up. As soon as he did something started forming in front of him. In 30 seconds, from a pile of dirt appeared a replica of himself from earth with 2 daggers like his. It looked like him. Paul was shocked at this. What shocked him wasn¡¯t the earth doll, but the fact that the earth doll was naked and looked like a ken doll. All smooth. Both of them didn¡¯t move staring at each other. Then Paul relaxed and thinking this was easy he left out a small ¡°heh¡±. The doll like it knew what was in Paul¡¯s mind started attacking him. Paul froze and didn¡¯t know how to react. His mind went blank. That is until the knife cut deep into his arm. Paul screamed out lout and when he looked at the wound there was nothing there. Meanwhile the doll kept attacking him. The doll didn¡¯t have any skills. It was just like Paul, thinking like him, even moving like him. The only thing that was removed from the doll, was hesitation and fear. While the doll kept attacking him, and he was hit multiple times. The pain was real. Paul feeling annoyed of dodging all the time, wanted to attack as well. When Paul started attacking the doll dodged by a hair¡¯s breath all the attacks. Paul didn¡¯t even scratch the doll. After a few hours of getting hit by attack that would have killed him multiple times, he started scratching the doll more often and evading more attacks. He started getting better and better. After 14 hours the door opened and Paul walked out. The only reason he came out was because he was exhausted and the doll was not.At the end Paul kept getting slower and slower and what happened at the beginning started happening again. He kept getting ¡°killed¡± more and more often so frustrated he came out. He dropped on the floor and looked to the cube. He noticed that the door closed and the daggers disappeared from his hands. On the door there was a number 232-0. Paul instinctively knew what the number was before it disappeared. It was the number of his death vs the dolls. Paul was embarrassed at the number and felt shame. Then he locked at his updates and felt a little better.

He went to the inn to eat since he was starving. After eating he went to talk to Nori at the brothel. Nori saw him approaching and chuckled. -¡°So how did it go?Did it hurt?¡± -¡°I died¡.a lot¡± -¡°Don¡¯t worry, everybody is like that at first. Even those that know how to fight after 10 hours of that died about 20 times ¡± -¡°¡..i died 200 times¡± Support the creativity of authors by visiting Royal Road for this novel and more. When he said that she looked at him and started to shake. She was trying to stop herself from laughing. Paul seeing her to at least try not to laugh started to feel better and decided that ¡°I will definitely kill that stupid doll ¡°. After stoping she tried to comfort Paul and said -¡°That doll, is you without fear or hesitation. What that doll can do, you can do it as well. The doll get¡¯s your stats each time you enter and stays at that way until you enter again.¡± -¡°How long can i stay inside it?¡± -¡°So far, as the official record goes, it¡¯s 20 hours. But either way after 24 hours the door opens and your copy disappears. One of the other advantages this method has is that no one can enter, hear or see inside the cube while there is someone inside¡± -¡°That¡¯s good¡..that¡¯s really good¡.¡± -¡°So will you continue or give up?¡± -¡°Never! I will definitely get strong¡± -¡°Good.¡± -¡°From tomorrow for the next week i will be busy with my training, so i won¡¯t be able to talk or meet. But please bring some food to the shack after 8 days. I will be starving¡± -¡°I know you can do something for 7 days and then you need to sleep. I won¡¯t ask more since everybody has secrets. I will wait until you will tell me¡± -¡°Thank you¡.I really mean it. You are my only true friend in this village¡± She looked down and turned her back. Her face was a sad for a second and then went back to happy. He then left since she had work to do. Paul arrived at the shack, lied down the bed and used Memo to relive the experience from the cube. And then went to sleep. In the morning, as soon as the two suns were up in the sky Paul went to the inn to eat. He ordered some food and started eating. He then using his listening skill heard Rocka talk to the mage. -¡°The advent hasn¡¯t been found yet commander¡± -¡°Don¡¯t worry, there is still time. After all the seer is newer wrong. There will definitely be one¡± -¡°I understand¡± -¡°And after i find him, that weakling will suffer. I will destroy his mind. hehehehehe¡± Rocka laughed imagining the things he would do to Paul. Paul hearing this decided that he must try harder at the testing facility. He headed there and entered the building. He went past the old lady and just as he passed her he heard ¡°232-0 hehehehe¡±. He then realized that she can see the score. He also figured that she couldn¡¯t see his stats since she didn¡¯t say anything. Paul wasn¡¯t angry anymore. He knew he was weak, but that only meant he could get stronger. He arrived at the box and before entering he took out a Limit Pill. He took it and then he went to the crystal. He repeated the process from before and entered. This time he was ready. As he entered everything was exactly the same as before. Daggers on the floor, nothing else around. He took the daggers and agin the doll appeared on front of him. This time he didn¡¯t wait and attacked first. The doll was evading most of his attacks but he still cut it a few times. The doll and Paul were now moving a lot more skillfully. It¡¯s like they were dancing. The doll was using all sorts of attacks, stabbing, slashing, even sometimes trowing one of the daggers at Paul. He was even using kicks. Paul seeing the moves the doll does was surprised but then realized he could do them too. Paul was copying the moves, but he still couldn¡¯t move as precisely as the doll. After 24 hours the doors opened just like Nori said and the doll disappeared. Paul went out and looked at the door. ¡°100-0¡± He still died 100 times but he only succeed in scratching the doll. Paul¡¯s mind was tired from all the pain he felt in the last 24 hours. He sat in the ground to meditate for an hour then checked his stats.. After that he got up he went inside again. He repeated this process for a whole week. A normal man would have gone crazy from all the constant pain. On the last day he looked at the door smiling. He finally managed to kill the doll a few times. On the door it wrote ¡°40-20¡± He successfully gave 20 killing attacks and he only died 40 times. He checked his updates just like every night after coming out. He went to the shack and satisfied fell asleep. And for 24 hours he didn¡¯t move at all. Nori brought him food just like she promised and waited for Paul to wake up. As she waited for Paul to wake up she started humming a song. Paul woke up and hears singing. He went to the source and saw Nori, who was outside at the door. As soon as he opened the door Nori didn¡¯t say anything and just stared at him with her mouth open. Paul was now worried. She didn¡¯t make a joke or anything like that and just stared. -¡°You¡ your hair..¡± -¡°Yeah i know it got a bit big. I need to cut it¡± -¡°No no that, i mean yes. But that¡¯s not the problem.¡± -¡°Huh? Then what?¡± -¡°The problem is........WHY IS YOUR HAIR WHITE ?!¡± -¡°Ahhh....that....¡±Paul then grinned at Nori. Paul went to the table and started eating. Nori sat next to him and stared while Paul was eating. After Paul eat, Nori saw Paul grinning at her, and although she knew Paul for a while know she was surprised to see someone change so much in such a short time. Besides his hair, he had a different air about him. And the most change that was as powerful as it was subtle were his eyes. Paul`s purple eyes were now no longer as gentle, they were a bit wild and it was like like they could see into her very soul. Then Paul said something and a window appeared in front of Nori, that explained everything.

-?Congratulations. Don`t forget though, that you don¡¯t have experience against different types of weapons and creatures. You will need to fight all sort of enemies and only then you will start being strong¡± -?Thank you. I understand what you are saying and i know that i have a long road ahead of me¡± -?Will you be remaining in this village for long?¡± -?No...i will head out as soon as the one of the suns disappears and the army opens the village doors.¡± -?Good. I will leave as well since i finished my mission while you were training.¡± -?Where will you go?¡± -?The capital. Do you want to join me?¡± -?Not sure yet. I will decide when the times comes.¡± -?Before leaving you should make sure to learn from someone the Survival skill. And since you have such a good reputation in this village you can probably find someone to teach you other useful skills.¡± -?That¡¯s what i planned to do next. Do you know someone good who can teach me the Survival skill?¡± -?There aren¡¯t many hunters in the village since they live in the forest but just ask around and you will find one¡± -?I see....Well then, no time like the present to begin¡± Paul then started looking for someone to teach him. He went first to the inn since that¡¯s the only place where everybody goes. He asked around but no one could teach him what he needed. He walked for a few hours and after asking around he found out that because the hunters knew that the period in which the advent appears the village is locked down so they stayed away. Paul was now disappointed. The skill that every true adventurer needs, he can¡¯t learn it until the village lockdown is over. He then figured that he couldn¡¯t just waste time and headed towards the crafting section of the village. He entered the gate that leads to the crafting section. The gate lead him to the back of the village where there were very few humans. Almost everyone was an elf or dwarf. They didn¡¯t look or talk to each other and just went about their day. Paul headed to to one of the building but before he could take 3 steps he tripped and fell. He looked back and saw a human that was dressed in ripped clothing. He was very dirty. His hair was brown but from the dirt it looked black. The man noticing that someone was analyzing him smirked and said -¡°Would you please help me with some copper?¡± Paul even after falling he didn¡¯t get angry. He was used to things happening that he didn¡¯t like. After looking at the man in from of him he noticed that although he looked poor the man had a healthy body and didn¡¯t look sick. He also didn¡¯t smell. Paul found this suspicious and decided to test the man. -¡°I will help you if you answer a question.¡± -¡°I understand. Ask.¡± -¡°Were you perhaps a hunter?¡± -¡°Good eyes boy. And i am a hunter.¡± -¡°Would you teach me the survival skill?¡± -¡°I can tell you how you can learn the basics. When you know the basics come back to me and i will teach you some more¡± -¡°How can i learn the basics?¡± The old man looked at Paul¡¯s face and saw his eyes which were hungry for knowledge and power. Liking the boys eyes he spoke up -¡°Without using a single item you have on you right now and without the help of your friends, survive a week. If you can¡¯t do at least this i can¡¯t teach you.¡± -¡°I¡¯ll do it¡± -¡°Good. Now take these and put them on.¡± He handed some old, ripped clothing to Paul. After dressing up Paul started to look more like a beggar. Paul decided that in order to not get recognized, he needs to cover his head and eyes.He did so with an improvised hood. The old man held out his bracelet and Paul did as well. He got a quest. Should he break the rules the man set, he would immediately know since he would get notified that Paul failed the quest. The old man left and entered an alley. Paul found that this was harder than he initially though. The food was the biggest problem since water he could find in the public wells. No one recognized him, not even the villagers that chased him. He was starting to feel hungry and was tempted to use his coins to buy money but that would mean that he would not learn the skill while the village is in lockdown. He then headed to the village square and started to beg. No one even looked at him. It¡¯s like he was a ghost. After a few hours he only ate an apple that was half eaten and town away. Paul was disappointed in the humans that smiled and greeted him before and now they were ignoring him. He then headed back to the crafting part of the village. He didn¡¯t had any hopes but he still tried. After 30 minutes an old dwarf, gave him a piece of bread. Paul was feeling more grateful for a piece of bread than he ever was. That day he didn¡¯t receive anything else. When the night came Paul searched for a place to sleep. He found a good place behind a house. The wind didn¡¯t reach him there. We was still hungry but fell asleep. Paul was sleeping, not feeling the hunger .In the morning he was still sleeping, when all of a sudden was woken up by water hitting his face. It started raining, hard. He hurried to find cover and a fire. He found a place under a tree and noticed that he was feeling cold. He wanted to make a fire but didn¡¯t know how. He looked around and found some dry branches and leafs under the tree next to him. He gathered them together and made a small pile. Now he needed to make fire. He tried using the trick he remembered about using two stones to light a fire. He searched around and found them fast. He tried hitting them together but there was no spark. He looked carefully at the rocks and realized that they were no good. After another half hour he found the rocks and tried again. As soon as he hit them together a spark flew. He hit them together a few more times and he had a fire. It was small but it will warm him up and dry his clothes. After two hours the fire died. And soon after that the rain stopped. Paul headed out to search for some food. He repeated this process every day. After a week has passed Paul was all dirty and hungry. He looked like a real beggar. He also lost some weight. Paul then searched for the man since he finished the quest. He almost gave up until the man showed next to him smiling. -¡°So, how was it¡± -¡°Hard¡.really hard¡± -¡°Good, that¡¯s good. This means you have learned how precious resources are.¡± -¡°Yes¡± -¡°Good now follow me¡± -¡°Where are we going¡± -¡°You are hungry right?¡± -¡°Very¡± They entered a house and in the middle of the house was a table full with food. Paul and the hunter then ate. While eating the hunter shared his knowledge about surviving. After thanking the hunter Paul, changed clothes and checked his bracelet.

He has indeed learned the Survival skill and it was more impressive than he though. He went to the inn and ate some more. And then he went to the shack where he went to sleep. He was feeling truly grateful to Nori who helped him until now, and realized his luck. Tired and full he slowly he fell asleep. The next day, he headed to the crafting part of the village. It was time to cash in on some favors. He first looked someone to learn tailoring from. He quickly found one and although the owner was an elf, he was still willing to teach Paul the skill. Paul spent the next day learning how to sew, cut, measure, extract materials from creatures. When finally he got notified

He thanked the elf and headed back to the shack to sleep. However before sleeping he got into the habit of using his skill, Memo, to relive the last 24 hours to improve. Every day before sleeping he used this skill a few times, except when he was pretending to be a beggar. Although he learned a lot ,he didn¡¯t enjoy that experience. He never wanted to feel so helpless again. The next day Nori visited him. They talked for while having breakfast together. And then Paul asked her if she knows who is the better blacksmith in the village. -¡°There are 2 blacksmiths in the village. One knows how to make the best weapons, one the best armor. Every blacksmith has a lot of pride and they won¡¯t allow you to learn form another. Especially since they know each other and are considered rivals.¡± -¡°Thanks for the info. I need to go now since i have some planning to do¡± Paul smirked as he left. Paul needed a weapon so he headed to the blacksmith expert on weapons. The blacksmith knew Paul pretty well since Paul did a few quests for him, and accepted to teach him. Paul started then learning about different types of ores, melting them, about molds, how to make different weapons, how to repair them.

The next day after learning some basics, the blacksmith took him down to a basement. The basement was full of all types of rusted weapons. There were hundred of weapons. The dwarf then handed him a hammer, some thongs and pointed to a forge and said. -¡°You see all this?¡± Unauthorized usage: this narrative is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings.-¡°Yes¡± -¡°You can use everything that¡¯s in here. What ever you create or fix you can take with you. You are free to come and go from this place as long as you want.¡± Paul was shocked. The blacksmith left him feeling proud that he succeeded in shocking Paul. Paul then took a Limit Pill and started sorting the weapons. There were 5 big piles in the room after he was finished. A pile of weans too damaged to be repaired, one of short words, one of long heavy swords, one of knifes and daggers and one of weapons he didn¡¯t recognize. He started with the pile of short swords and started to repair them. Besides eating and the occasional break it took him a whole day to repair the short swords. Because of his low skills some of the swords broke. He trowed them to the first pile. Then he started to fix the pile of long swords. It took him two days to fix all the long and heavy swords, and again he the one he broke threw them to the first pile. He then took the pile with the weapons he didn¡¯t recognize and started to repair them. Since he didn¡¯t know the original shape of some of the weapons he took those and grew them to the first pile. It took him another day to fix those weapons. After fixing them he threw all of them to the first pile. He then looked at the first pile that reached the sealing and over 50% of the room. Seeing so much material he was getting more and more motivated to create himself a good weapon. He then repaired all the knives and daggers. This time very few broke while he tried to repair them. He looked at the daggers to see if there are some that are decent. After identifying all of them he found 2 daggers that were decent. The rest he threw them on the pile. Old rusty dagger. It was never used.

He had 2 days left until he needed to sleep. It took him a half a day to melt all the items and all the iron was in the shape of cubes. He put all the cubes in the corner of the room. After finishing it he was feeling satisfied seeing the all the cubes of iron. Seeing that his skills in creating weapons were lacking he decided to use some of the cubes to create normal swords to get used to it. After using up 50 cubes he crafted 50 swords. Then looked at his skill.

Feeling a bit more confident he started creating daggers. The simplest one he could. Once he got used to it he started changing the shape of the daggers a bit, making them all different. After using another 50 cubes he created in total 100 daggers and he still had 150 cubes left. He started making daggers that were more and more impressive. On the last day after using up all the iron cubes on crafting daggers, he started melting everything he crafted, even the daggers that he put aside. He now had 250 cubes of iron in front of him. Noticing after all this that the hotter the fire and purest the metal the stronger the weapons is. He increased the size and strength of the fire by 100% . He couldn¡¯t raise it higher because it was too hot. He then started to refine the metal. Out of the 250 cubes, after refining a few times he got 50 cubes of metal. The metal was such a high quality that if the blacksmith saw this he wouldn¡¯t allow Paul to take them with him. Paul put all the iron cubes in the ring exempt for one. Paul used one cube to craft a pair of daggers. Using all his skill as a blacksmith and focus he crafted something he felt truly proud of. A pair of identical daggers.

Paul put the daggers in the ring and remembered he was now in danger since he needed to fall asleep as soon as possible. Paul ran out of the basement surprising the blacksmith who though that he has left already. He was surprised to see him empty handed. He though that at least he would take some swords with him. Paul was running like the wind and upon reaching the shack as soon as he entered he jumped on the bed and used Memo to review the last 24 hours, more importantly the part where he created the daggers. For the next 24 hours he was sleeping as usual, not realizing that the blacksmith was standing on his knees in the basement looking at an empty room. He though someone robbed him since he didn¡¯t see Paul carry any items with him. The next day, after woking up he headed to the other blacksmith specialized in armor. After talking to Paul he found out that he learned how to make weapons from one of his rivals. -¡°I won¡¯t share my knowledge with my enemies apprentice¡± -¡°Really? So he was right.¡± -¡°Huh? Who was right¡± -¡°The one you call enemy¡± -¡°What did he say about me?! More lies i assume!¡± -¡°No,no it¡¯s just that he was joking that he succeeded in teaching me the basics in one day. He was laughing saying that you could have never succeed in teaching me in a day the basics if armor making.¡± -¡°What?! Get over here!¡± Paul successfully tricked him into teaching him how to make armors. He learned that making armors also needed knowing a bit the tailoring skills. He improved 2 skills in 24 hours. He was feeling proud. -¡°See! I though you even faster than that old man right?!¡± -¡°Yes¡I¡¯m impressed in your skills. You truly are a great blacksmith¡± Paul smirked as he left. The blacksmith didn¡¯t realize he was tricked. Paul went to bed since it was late and as always reviewed the day before. And before falling asleep he checked his stats and skills:

They were at the same point just like when he checked last time. He was a bit worried and decided that, first thing tomorrow he needs to talk to Nori and see if she knows something about it.
The next day he went to find Nori. These days Nori was quite busy since she was responsible for the brothel and with the lockdown the brothel got even busier with all the soldiers around so Paul and Nori didn¡¯t have time to talk a lot in the last period. When Paul found her she was tired sitting at the desk in her office. -¡°Are you busy?¡± -¡°Ah¡.Paul. Yes I¡¯m really busy but I could use a break. What¡¯s up?¡± -¡°Well I have a question and you are the person with the most knowledge I know.¡± -¡°Maybe¡so what¡¯s the problem?¡± -¡°I noticed that no matter what I do some of my skills don¡¯t level up.¡± -¡°That is only natural. You see everyone has skill limits, and when different skills reach that limit they stop. Each person is different so the skill level limit is different.¡± -¡°Isn¡¯t there a way to remove that limit?¡± -¡°Well there are special conditions that need to be met for some people. There are also some potions and items that remove the limits to some or all skill but they are so rare that I only heard rumors about it.¡± -¡°I see¡ there still is about a month until the second sun vanishes. Do you have any tips about what I would need out in the wild?¡± She chuckled feeling that she is like a teacher and looked Paul in the eye and said -¡°Depends on what you want to do¡± -¡°Well let¡¯s just say survive¡± -¡°Do you have any ranged weapons?¡± -¡°No.¡± -¡°Well they would be useful for hunting. You should learn some basics.¡± -¡°Anything else?¡± -¡°Well I know men don¡¯t really like it but cooking. You need to eat to live¡± -¡°That¡¯s true¡± -¡°You should also head to the library when you have time to read about all that you can. Knowledge is power, that is what my guild teaches you first time you enter.¡± -¡°You help me all the time¡anything I can help you with?¡± -¡°No¡but if I need help I¡¯ll ask. Also for the next month I won¡¯t be able to meet and talk much unless it¡¯s an emergency. My friend will come back after the lockdown and I want to make sure the brothel is in good condition for her.¡± -¡°I understand. Thank you again for the help¡± Paul left the brothel and headed to the guild testing facility. The cube of terror awaited him. This time instead of choosing daggers he chose a bow. Before entering he took a Limit pill and entered. This time on the ground was a bow and a quiver with one arrow in it. Paul picked it up and as soon as he touched the arrow, the doll shot him in the head. Paul was already used to the pain and he took an arrow and shot it at the doll. He already knew how to use a bow since back in his world he trained for a bit with it. The unexpected thing was that the as soon as he took out the arrow another appeared in the quiver and the one which he shot, after hitting the target dissolved. Paul could only shoot arrows from a fixed position while the doll shot while moving. The doll was not that accurate but it still hit Paul a number of times. Paul got used to the bow and now he began to move while shooting as well. After 24 hours he got out. On the door there was 14-122. He died 122 times. Next he checked the bracelet.

Paul then instead of going back in the box sat next to it and decided to start reading since his knowledge was quite lacking and it would seem even more suspicious in a bigger city. Paul thinking of the ring already knew the titles of the books but not what was inside of them. Paul decided to first learn about creatures, then about the inhabitants of this world, then about the guilds and finally everything else he could learn about. He got out a book about creatures and started reading. At first it was quite hard, since there were a lot of things he didn¡¯t understand but as he got deeper into the book things started to make sense. After finishing the book he took another one and started reading. After a few hours and 10 books he got a new skill

After that he got back into the cube to train his archery. He repeated this routine for a whole week. He trained his archery for 4 days and for 3 whole day he read. He finished reading 620 books thanks to his reading skill. He only succeeded in reading books about creatures since they were so many books. He had 20 841 books left to read. He slept for 24 hours. The next day he got up and went to the inn to learn cooking. Cooking was a lot harder than he though and it took him a whole day to learn. However after learning the inn owner gave him a present. A book of recipes. The book was really thick and had a very large collection of recipes. The cooking skill was absorbed by the Survivialist skill. Not having anything planned Paul decided that he needs to be ready for when the time is right so he went to the marketplace and bought a few things. He bought tools for blacksmithing, cooking, tailoring. After shopping he went to the shack and crafted himself a bow. He crafted about 10 of them before but they were failures.

After finishing he used blacksmithing to put small pieces of iron plates for extra protection. He put extra protection to his chest and back, his hands and legs. The steel wasn¡¯t visible because Paul made it really thin and light and also he hid it inside the armor. It looked like a leather armor but it offered extra protection. Stolen story; please report.

He put everything in the ring so that he won¡¯t attract too much attention and when he looked outside the day was already over. He went to bed and as usual he started reviewing what he did in the last 24 hours. The next day as soon as he got up he took a Limit Pill and started to read. His intelligence and wisdom kept increasing as he read more and more books. In the first 24 hours he finished 721 books. He kept increasing the number of books he read every day. Then he finished 850, then 1201, then 2000 and at this time his skill reached another level.

Paul satisfied went to sleep. From all those books Paul learned many useful things. He learned that there are many different creatures and that they also are separated in ranks. There were many creatures that have not been discovered and some that went extinct. He also learned to speak elven, the language of the elf¡¯s and runean the language of the dwarves. He learned that the kingdoms only have a few S ranks since most of them go into the undiscovered and dangerous parts of the world, known as the wilds. The advents, well most of them, are all above rank A and usually after reaching rank S they all go to the wilds or stay and help the kingdoms. There are exceptions of course, some become criminals and are the leaders of large groups of bandits attacking innocent people. He also found out that most A ranks have some of the stats in the 5000, B ranks in the 1200, C ranks in the 900, D ranks in the 600, E ranks in the 300, F ranks in the 200, and G ranks in the 100. He also learned a few things about magic. It seems that magic is not like he though. You can¡¯t create a fireball out of nothing. You need a fire first and then using mana you can control that fire to make it bigger or smaller. You use you mana to manipulate the element of you desire. There are no spells only books that teach you different ways to use mana. It seems that you can use mana on anything, even to strengthen a certain object. Depending on the amount of mana used it lasts more or less. As for the healing spells, they just inject mana into the wound accelerating the body¡¯s natural healing ability. There are magic items that are the real wonders. There are magical formulas that are put on objects and when infused with mana they have different effects. One example was the cube in which Paul trained. He learned that under the cube there is a mana crystal that feeds the cube. When someone touches the crystal at the entrance it makes a copy of him and creates a golem that reacts the same way the user does. Magical formulas are very hard to create, and most of them that exist now are copies of ancient formulas that were created by an ancient civilization that disappeared. Now they can only create really simple ones that you could do even without magic so there really isn¡¯t much research. There were about 2 weeks left until the seconds sun disappears, and Paul was ready. On the other hand Rocka was starting to worry that the advent might not appear and he would lose the bet. He started to plan something in case he loses. Paul didn¡¯t know, and kept on sleeping. < >>Next Chapter>> Vol.1 Chapter 10-Leaving

Paul got up and feeling still a bit mentally tired from everything that happened to him in the last period and decided to take a break and relax for a while. He headed out to check the marketplace, looking around to buy things that might seem useful. He found some things but they were too expensive for him. He went to the inn ate and drank a bit and just walked around all day. Then the night came and Paul went to sleep. He spent the next one and a half week like this. He didn¡¯t really talk to Nori only a few times since she was busy. Finally the day arrived in which the second sun didn¡¯t appear. Paul already got used to seeing two suns and now was a little weird. He finally could leave the village since the soldiers opened the gates. He decided to spend another day in the village before setting out, since he needed a few more things to prepare and also he needed to talk to Nori. Paul headed to the brothel to find Nori but she was not there. It seems that her friend returned and resumed her job. After leaving the brothel he heard some say -¡°Stop!¡± Paul looked around suddenly he was surrounded by soldiers. -¡°Are you the one they call Paul Silver?¡± -¡°Who¡¯s asking?¡± -¡°I am! Now are you him or not!?¡± -¡°Yes, yes I am¡± Paul decided to be honest since lying could get him in trouble later. -¡°Come with us quietly, or we will use force to restrain you¡± -¡°I understand¡don¡¯t need to worry. Can you tell me why am I being detained first?¡± -¡°We were just told to find you and bring you to the captain¡± Paul was finally knew who was behind all this. The captain. <> The soldiers escorted him to the captain. Paul went willingly. When they reached the small camp the captain was sitting on a chair smirking.Paul felt that something was wrong. Then suddenly he yelled ¡°Search him!¡± The soldiers held him down while another one searched him. Suddenly a pouch was handed to Rocka. A pouch Paul never saw before. Suddenly Rocka spoke -¡°I knew it! You stole this gold from me!¡± -¡°What?! I didn¡¯t steal anything.¡± -¡°Shut it! You are just a thieving worm! Arrest him and lock him in the prison¡± -¡°Wait!!!¡± -¡°What?!¡± -¡°How can you prove that I stole the pouch from you?¡± -¡°It was found in your possession! That means that you stole it!¡± Paul now was starting to panic. He didn¡¯t know what to do. Then he had an idea. -¡°If that pouch is your I assume you can prove it?¡± -¡°Of course I can. Look, on the pouch there is a sigil. That sigil proves that this is mine.¡± -¡°But that sigil isn¡¯t on anything else you own?¡± -¡°This sigil is made by the crafter as a mark of his work.¡± -¡°If a crafter made it, doesn¡¯t that mean that there may be more pouches with the same sigil?¡± -¡°Only someone who was in the capital can have a pouch like this. The crafter only makes 5 every year and are very expensive.¡± -¡°How do you know I didn¡¯t buy one?¡± -¡°You are too weak and poor to go to the capital and buy one yourself¡± Paul didn¡¯t know what to do to get himself out of this bind then he remembered. He saw that sigil before. It was on the pouch of the body that he found before arriving in to the village. Then he had an idea. -¡°I can prove that, the pouch you are holding is mine¡± -¡°Really? Then prove it ¡° -¡°I would like some witnesses first, from the village¡± -¡°Why? Doesn¡¯t matter, I will bring you to the village center and I will explain everything¡± They took Paul to the village center where Rocka started explaining that Paul stole his pouch of gold, the proof that the pouch is not his is the sigil on it, and where it¡¯s from, and then Paul claimed that the pouch it¡¯s his and he can prove it. After the crowd went silent Rocka looked at Paul and said -¡°Well then, I¡¯m waiting. Prove that this pouch is yours¡± -¡°Well first of all the sigil is mine, and not some crafters from the capital.¡± -¡°Are you calling me a liar?!?! If so you need to prove it or else I will kill you for slander!¡± -¡°Of course I can prove it.¡± Paul reached into his clothes like he was searching for something and then used the ring to put the pouch into his hand. For everyone looking it looked like Paul reached into his clothes and pulled out a pouch. -¡°Look¡ this pouch has the same sigil. I made this in case I lost the other one. See? This is exactly the same as the pouch the captain Is holding.¡± -¡°Wha, what? That¡¯s not possible! From where did you get that pouch!? When the soldiers searched you they didn¡¯t found a another pouch on you!¡± -¡°They didn¡¯t search good enough. Now¡would you please return the pouch to me?¡± Paul smirked at Rocka and the villagers started to side with Paul. The started calling Rocka a liar and to give Paul the pouch back. Rocka was now angry. He was tricked by Paul, and now in front of the villagers he couldn¡¯t just kill him without a good reason. He had to give up for now. He gave Paul the pouch and whispered in his ear. ¡°This isn¡¯t over¡± The soliders and Rocka left and Paul was happy that he earned some gold. As soon as he was alone he absorbed the pouch and saw that in the pouch there were over 300 gold coins.A small fortune. He finally could buy some better stuff than the one he has. He headed to the market place and sold all his tools. He bought better ones since he had money now. He also bought some bandages and medicine. He then bought 50 arrows since he had a bow but no arrows. He didn¡¯t need a quiver since he could store the arrows in the ring and get them out faster than he could from a quiver. He also bought ingredients to cook and already cooked food. Now he had everything he needed and all he had left to do in the village was talk to Nori. He searched for her for about 3 hours before he found her. She was surrounded by 5 girls. Paul approached them and Nori seeing him coming smiled. -¡°I heard what you did with the captain¡± -¡°Well he still holds a grudge¡± -¡°I heard. Be careful since the captain is still around the village. He might be planning an ambush or something.¡± -¡°I will be careful¡± -¡°So have you decided if you will join me to the capital? I could use you company.¡± -¡°I¡¯m sorry I decided that for now I won¡¯t go to the capital. I will travel and see the world¡± -¡°Well if you ever need me just contact me since we are friends¡± -¡°I will. By the way do you have any suggestions on where should I head next?¡± -¡°Depends on where you want to go. To the north there are mountains, to the south is the desert, to the west and east there are forests, but to the east there are many rivers. I¡¯m headed east to the capital¡± -¡°I see¡Before you go I have a present for you¡± -¡°Really? A present?¡± Nori started to be exited. If she had a tail you could see it wiggle. Paul put his hand into the bag and got out a silver bracelet. He handed the bracelet to her. Nori blushed and happily put on the bracelet. She then gave Paul a hug and kissed him on the cheek. Paul blushed as well and after she released him he cleared his throat. -¡° That bracelet is a bit special. It has a secret compartment that has a pair of lock picking tools. I hope it will be useful¡± -¡°Really? Oh! Wow! Where did you buy it from?¡± -¡°From the market I bought the bracelet and tools, but I made the secret compartment myself.¡± -¡°You are quite skilled. Thank you for the gift, I will use it well¡± -¡°Well then, see you soon.¡± -¡°Yes¡.soon¡± She was called by her companions who were ready to leave. She took 5 steps towards them and then turned around and gave Paul another hug. This one lasted 3 minutes longer and then she ran to her party and they left the village. Paul was happy he made such a good friend in this world and decided to leave as well. He decided and headed west. After 5 minutes of walking he saw that some soldiers were running towards him from the village. He knew that they were hostile towards him and he ran to the west towards the forest. He could lose them more easily there. After running as fast as he could the soldiers were way behind him and he almost reached the forest edge. After reaching the forest edge he headed more into the forest and then climbed up on a tree and hid. The soldiers soon arrived searching for him. They were about 20 of them. They searched for Paul for a few hours before giving up and heading back to the village. As they headed back he could hear them saying ¡°The captain will not be happy that we lost him¡±. Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings. Paul knew that Rocka was still after him but he decided to avoid conflict since he would definitely lose, Rocka being an A rank and him a G rank. He then took his armor out of the ring and daggers. He equipped them. The armor looked quite nice, a combination of black and grey. At the chest he also put two sheaths for his daggers. At his neck there was a bit of black fur making his white hair even more visible. Not knowing what might attack him he held the daggers in his hands and jumped down from the tree and headed further into the forest. The deeper he went into the forest the darker it got. He felt more comfortable than he thought he would in the wild. Suddenly he spotter some wolves. He decided he needed to train in actual combat so he didn¡¯t use his bow to attack from a distance. As soon as he took another step the wolves spotted him and they let out killing intent. Paul also let out killing intent and seeing the wolves hesitate he decided to attack first. He killed one of the wolves in one strike by stabbing it in the neck. As soon as he did two other wolves jumped to attack. Using his flexibility and speed he didn¡¯t get hit and actually managed to kill another one. Just as the wolf fell to the ground the last one let out a lout howl that surprised Paul. Feeling that it was a bad idea to let him howl Paul cut his vocal cords with his dagger, but it was too late. He heard all around him multiple howls. Lots of them. He prepared for an attack but nothing came. Paul was still tense and after 5 minutes on nothing attacking him he knew something was very wrong and prepared himself activating all his skills that could be useful. Suddenly using perception to the limit he found out that he was surrounded by wolves. They all just stared at Paul. Then from the back a huge wolf came. The Alpha of the pack. It was double almost triple the size of the regular wolves. It let out a howl so strong that Paul was frozen in place. Then The wolves started attacking. Paul used everything he had to not get killed and killed wolf after wolf. He was constantly moving, touching the ground only for a fraction of a second before changing direction and attacking another wolf. Some of them were stronger and didn¡¯t die from one hit. The Alpha was still looking at Paul while the other wolves kept dying in front of him. He didn¡¯t even flinch. After fighting for what seemed like an eternity with his nerves constantly on the edge the wolves stopped. They were afraid of dying. The Alpha got up and killed them all in a flash. Paul was surprised how fast it could move, considering its large size .After that it looked at Paul. Paul tensed up looking the Alpha in the eyes. Then they moved. In a flash Paul lost one of his daggers while successfully stabbing the Alpha in the back. They kept attacking each other but they were evenly matched. They only succeeded scratching each other. Paul somehow picked up the other dagger and now he was ready to launch an all out attack. He moved faster than he though he could and it still wasn¡¯t enough. This time he lost both daggers and he was unarmed. The wolf got seriously injured while disarming Paul but it still had its claws and teeth. Paul was now in serious danger. The Alpha noticing that he was unarmed jumped with his teeth to bite Paul but at the last second he used the ring and brought forth in his hands two arrows. He used one of them to stab the Alpha in the eye and the other to stab it in its mouth. Although Paul was now with his hand stuck in the Alpha''s mouth the Alpha died the moment it bit down Paul¡¯s hand. The arrow penetrated his brain killing it on the spot. Paul now was lying on his back laughing. He survived. He almost lost his arm but survived. He used some bandages he had and bandaged himself up and then looked around. It was like a battleground. The bodies of the wolves were everywhere. For a few meters around the ground was red, from all the blood and a metallic smell lingered in the air. He picked up the daggers and then went to every wolf, absorbed the guild points then absorbed the body¡¯s in the ring. After finishing he realized that this was their den. He didn¡¯t find any baby wolves though. He then hurried away from that place since it might attract other creatures and Paul wasn¡¯t in a condition to fight. After a few minutes of running through the forest he climbed the biggest tree he could find to rest. He tried using mana to heal himself. He focused on the wounds and tried pouring mana into them. The wounds started to heal. He was pleasantly surprised. He then looked at his updates while eating a bit to recover.

He realized that his bow was useless in close combat and he needed to find a solution. After healing he headed deeper into the forest. This time he was more careful and after a few hours of fighting a few horned pigs, wolves and something that looked like a goblin on the way he stopped. He looked careful in front of him and there were some ruins of a house or something. They were all covered in moss and they were almost invisible. Paul before approaching looked around to see if there are any possible enemies. There were none, which was a bit suspicious. As he approached the ruins he started to feel sick. The closer he got the worse he felt. And then it suddenly stopped as soon as Paul put his foot inside the ruins. He thought that must have been some sort of magic and that¡¯s why creatures don¡¯t come near this place. He started to look around since there might be something interesting, after all such a spell must protect something. The ruins were like a huge house. They were covered in moss and some trees even became part of it. It became one with nature. He decided to make camp here, prepare and spend some time here exploring the ruins and the surroundings. < >>Next Chapter>> Vol.2 Chapter 1-Mystery mechanism

Vol.2 Chapter 1-Mystery mechanism Paul was now in the old ruins of a large building. He started to search around to see if he can find something that he might use in the future. The ruins had around 5 rooms, but some of the walls were destroyed a long time ago so now in front of Paul was a big room, and on the right were the remains of a wall that reached the knees, in front the walls were intact and there was room for a door and on the left there was no wall left and the tree¡¯s claimed that area. There wasn¡¯t any bed smells, it just smelled like nature. Paul quite liked the smell. He also liked that there were no bugs that he saw so far. He first headed left to see if he could find something among the roots and weeds. There were only pieces of rock, planks of wood and nothing else. Paul then headed right, jumped over the small ruined wall and he saw that there were some old bookshelves. Some were still standing but there were no books only more moss. The last room was the smallest but also had all four walls and a roof. When Paul entered first he saw that there was a chair and a table but nothing else survived time. After walking all over the room to see if he missed anything he noticed that sometimes when he steps near the table there is a empty sound coming from under the floor. He looked carefully and saw that there was a hidden trap door made from stone. He used a dagger to make the trap door visible by cutting some of the moss that grew over it and using the knife to clean the gap between the floor and the door. After cleaning the door he used a dagger like a crowbar and lifted the hard heavy door. After pushing the door aside he saw that there was a hole in the ground of around 1 square meters. An old damp smell came of the hole. Paul decided to wait until climbing down to let the air inside circulate a bit. While waiting he cleaned himself up a bit, since he was still covered in blood. He also checked his stats since he gained some more since fighting the wolves.

He then took out his blacksmithing and tailoring tools and repaired his armor and weapons. Then he eat a bit. He then he started taking out the bodies of the wolves and started taking everything that he could use. After a few hours he put everything back except for a pelt. He put it on the ground and he sat on it. He started to meditate. He used Memo to review everything that happened in the last 24 hours then started thinking of a way to improve his arsenal and safety. He then remember that there is a weapon that he could craft that he didn¡¯t see or use yet. A crossbow. Before creating a crossbow he needed to think how it works. All the parts needed to make the crossbow. After a few hours he created a mental plan of the items and how it would all work. He then used all his skills and items that he had to create a crossbow prototype. It was able to shoot an arrow but there wasn`t much power behind it. Paul started to make different crossbows. After a few hours of making crossbows and countless small and big improvements he finally created one that he was satisfied with. The final crossbow was small, it looked like a gun. It was able to shoot five small iron arrows without needing to stop to put in another arrow and pull the string back. It also had power. It was able to make a hole and get stuck in a rock from 15 meters. Paul used iron for the small mechanisms and he also used a combination of bone and wood to make it elastic enough to shoot the arrow. The string was made using a part of the Alpha¡¯s fur. He wasn¡¯t quite satisfied with the crossbow but he didn¡¯t have better materials to make something better so this will have to do until he finds some. He made two identical crossbows and salvaged what he could from the ones he created so far. A mechanism created by the mind of its creator. The mechanism is able to launch small iron arrows. It is able to launch 5 small iron arrows before needing to reload. Reloading time depends on multiple factors.

Then using some springs he created he was able to create two gauntlets that shot out arrows as well. They looked like normal gauntlets but when Paul used a pulled back a finger, the safety mechanism stopped and an arrow launched out of it. It only worked for a distance of maximum 2 meters but it had the same power the crossbow did from 15 meters. A mechanism created by the mind of its creator. The mechanism is able to launch a small iron arrow. It offers arm protection as well. Reloading the arrow takes 10 minutes minimum.

He was quite satisfied with what he made and this could one day save his life if used properly. He also was able to use it well since he had the archery skill. It seems that the archery skill applies to using crossbows as well since it uses arrows. Then he finally got up and decided to explore the underground room since by now it must have vent by now. He headed to the entrance and there was a ladder, well a broken one. Paul couldn¡¯t use the ladder since it was too weak to hold his weight so Paul jumped down since it wasn¡¯t so high. As soon as he reached the floor he looked around and was surprised. The room wasn¡¯t damaged at all. The walls were in perfect condition and they were full of writing. Paul couldn¡¯t recognize the writing. The only thing that was in the room were a book and a bed. Paul was more excited than he thought at seeing the bed. It looked comfy and soft. When he approached it he noticed that it didn¡¯t have any smell. He then looked at the book. The book was old but still in good condition. Paul made some torches and put them around the room. He made sure that the room is properly ventilated since he didn¡¯t want to die from lack of oxygen. He picked up the book and looked inside. It had parts in it that were the same language as the writing on the walls. He started to read it. He finished it quite fast and he started to learn some of the words. Then he reread the book a few times. He then got a notification

He then looked around the wall and recognized some words. ¡° I recognize some word¡but I still can¡¯t understand everything. That word there means mana, that other one means ward, that means protection¡.i need to try and see how many thimes the words repeat and then try to make sense of it. The most often used words and so on until I understand every word¡± He gave up after a few minutes since it was late and he was tired. He then went back up took some leaves and branches and made a cover for the hole. He put out all the fires since he was going to cover the hole. He put the cover made from leaves and branches over the hole just to be safe, since he didn¡¯t know if something else was using this place as a home. After finishing he went to bed and used Memo to review what he learned. Before realizing he fell asleep since the bed was so comfy. The next day he go up and went up to the ground level. There was nothing moved so he decided to eat enjoying the quiet and nature. He took out a pelt and sat on it. He took out some food and ate in peace. After eating he went back down lighted up some torches and started studying the walls. This time after a few hours he could understand simple sentences. Deciding to take a rest he went back up for some fresh air. As he relaxed he started to realize how good it is to have a place to rest in peace. He started picking up some rocks, branches and moss. After making a huge pile in a corner he started to create himself a small shack. Not even a shack, it was just a place where he could go to sleep. After finishing it, it was the size of a bed in length and about 1 meter and a half high. It was made from a combination of rock and wood. The wood wasn¡¯t visible from the outside only the rock. After that Paul put some moss he gathered from the ruins and put it on the mini house. He used some mana to ¡®heal¡¯ the moss and the moss started to spread all over the house. Now it looked like a piece of rock that he saw on the way to the ruin. Paul then entered trough an entrance that looked like a cave entrance. Inside he used some wolf pelt to isolate the walls so that water and cold won¡¯t go through. To seal the entrance he used another piece of rock that was lighter than it looked since it was hollow. After going out and sealing the entrance it looked like a huge rock that was part of the ground. ¡°There is still something missing¡..Aah yes, the bed.¡± Paul then headed down to the hole and took out the bed. He couldn¡¯t put it in trough the entrance since it was too big so his absorbed into the ring and once inside he got it out. It was a perfect fit. Paul eat a bit before heading down to learn the rest of the writing. After a few hours he finally could understand all the words. Or at least he though he did, but it made sense. All that writing was a lesson. A lesson on how to write a rune that creates a similar effect the ruins have. Anyone other than the owner of the writing will start to feel sick and avoid the place. Seems that depending on the amount of mana used when writing the rune the effects become stronger. The rune also needs to be present in 4 places. The corners of a box. The distance between the runes need to be as close as possible since distance weakens the spell. ¡°The one who made this whole ruin protected must have been a very powerful mage since it protects such a large place and still the effects are strong for such a distance.¡±
Ward-Beginner LVL.1(73%)
Using ancient runes you can create a protection field. This field will make anyone sick when coming in contact with it. Field minimum distance is 1 meter for 100 mana spent. Depending on the amount of mana used the effects vary. Depending on the distance between the runes the effects also vary.
Paul learned everything he could from the room so he headed up and used his skill on his house. After finishing he had no way to test if it worked or not so he decided to test it later. He took out some food and ate a only a small amount since he wasn¡¯t very hungry and went to his new house. He entered and sealed the entrance. He used Memo to review and went to sleep. The next day he got up and absorbed the house into the ring. He wasn¡¯t sure if it was possible since it was bigger than the usual things he absorbed. After eating he left the ruins and headed further west. He went a few minutes before spotting some creatures that looked like horses but had no eyes. They looked creepy. Paul used stealth and went closer to them deciding to test his new arsenal. < >>Next Chapter Vol.2 Chapter 2-Rosan

Paul used stealth and went closer to them deciding to test his new arsenal.
Vol.2 Chapter 2-Rosan Just as he got close enough to shoot the crossbow, he took a deep breath and shot an arrow straight into the head of one of the horses, killing it instantly. When he tried to fire a second one, it didn¡¯t work. He used the other crossbow and fired again killing another one, but just like the other it didn¡¯t work a second time. Putting the crossbows down he attacked the last horse with his daggers. Paul killed it in a few strikes. He took the guild points and then absorbed the bodies. He picked up the crossbows to check them since they didn¡¯t function properly. While inspecting the crossbow he learned that only one arrow can be properly used and that the chances of launching another arrow successfully decreased drastically. He left further west a few minutes and when he found a safe place he took out his blacksmithing tool and recreated the crossbow with only one arrow but still had the same great power. After a day and a few hours of traveling he reached the edge of the forest and saw in the distance a city. He cleaned himself and headed towards the city. The city was larger than the only village he saw so far. On the way to the city he absorbed everything except a dagger and the clothes on him. He took out a pouch and put 3 gold in it after that he attached it to his side. After a few minutes he reached the gates and the guards didn¡¯t even looked at him, as he entered the city. It seems that this city¡¯s name is Rosan and there is a road around trough the forest that connects to other cities. It seems that Paul went straight through the middle of the forest and didn¡¯t see the road. Inside the walls it was very noisy. It seems near the gates was the market. Everywhere he looked there were small shops with people yelling what they had for sale. Paul decided to check the shops and see if there is what the items and prices are like. The prices were a bit higher than in the village, but the items were better. Paul was not poor, after finding some gold in the forest, he had 350 gold coins. He could buy a lot of things with that money but Paul didn¡¯t want to stand out and he also wanted to keep some money for emergencies. After walking around for a bit he found a place where he could sell the bodies of the creatures he killed so far. He went back to an alley where no one could see him, took out a large bag and put all the pelts he had in it. He put in another one all the bones, and in another one everything else that was useful. The bag with the pelts was the biggest. After struggling to pick up the bags he left the alley. In the market people were watching him suspiciously since he was a carrying such large bags. Paul headed to a store and when he entered the owner was staring at the bags. Paul then told him he has some things for sale. He took out the pelts and put them on the counter. He put all the pelts inside except the one he got from the Alpha. The owner was now counting the pelts and studying them. -¡°May I ask where you got such a large amount of pelts?¡± -¡°I got them while traveling with my friends¡± Paul used a small lie since it would seem suspicious a person killing and carrying such a large amount of loot. -¡°I can offer you 30 gold for all the wolf pelts and 10 for the rest of the pelts.¡± -¡°Deal.¡± The store owner handed him 40 gold. Paul then took out the other two bags and put them on the counter. The store owner studied them and offered him 50 gold for both bags and Paul accepted. Paul satisfied left the store thanking the owner. Paul then asked around for the Inn since it was already pretty late. After finding the inn Paul went inside and asked for a room. The room was more expensive than Paul though. It was 10 silver per night. Back in the village the inn cost only 1 silver. Paul headed up to the room and before resting He checked his stats since the last time he gained a few.

Seeing that he had enough guild points he decided that the first thing he will do the next day was raise his guild rank since he was confident that he was no longer just a G rank. The next day he headed to the guild testing facility. It was easy to find with some help. Inside the facility there were at least 10 people. It was weird seeing it so full since back in the village it was almost always empty. Inside the building there were a lot of different people. There were some with bows, some with large swords. Some had fancy armor and some looked, well like Paul, poor. After 6 of them left. The next one got angry and started yelling at the crystal. It seems that he didn¡¯t raise his rank. Most of them were around F rank. After a few minutes it was Paul¡¯s turn. He lowered his luck down to 50 and used the crystal. After using it he left the building sat down on a bench and checked his stats.

He was surprised to see that he got the D rank. It was usually after a stat reached 600 but Paul figured it was because he had a lot of stats in the 400¡¯s. The title this time wasn¡¯t bad, he actually liked the new title. Feeling quite happy with his progress he headed to a tailor since he didn¡¯t have the skills to create something at a level he wanted. He found one without problems. After entering the tailor looked at him once and made a disappointed face. The tailor though that Paul was too poor to buy anything. Paul then asked the tailor if he could look around. The tailor was shocked and immediately changed his attitude. Paul looked around the shop and saw that nothing he liked. -¡°Do you make custom armor?¡± -¡°Yes. Of course. If you bring the materials than it¡¯s cheaper of course¡± -¡°I see. I would like for you to make me one using this¡± Paul pulled out the Alpha pelt from his bag and handed it to the tailor. The tailor started studying it for a while before saying. -¡°For giving me such a rare pelt to use I will give you a discount. Do you have special request about the armor?¡± -¡°I would like on the chest to have something like on my current armor. Also please make it as light as possible and also allow high mobility.¡± -¡°Of course. Please come here to take your sizes.¡± -¡°Please use all youre skill since I will give you a bonus if I like it¡± -¡°Of course¡± After a few minutes of measuring Paul left since the armor will take at least 3 days to make. Paul then headed to the blacksmith. As he entered the blacksmith he asked if he could observe him for a day. The blacksmith found this a little weird but allowed it. For the next day Paul observed him moving. The blacksmith didn¡¯t have any useless movements. He was precise and skilled. By observing him for the whole day he increased his skill. He went back to the inn and before sleeping he reviewed what he saw the blacksmith. Just as he finished he hit intermediary on blacksmithing.

The next day Paul searched a place to craft new weapons. He soon found a corner that was empty and away from the public, took out his tools and started crafting daggers. He used the same method of creating the daggers as before only this time he doubled everything he did and used. Five hours later he had created two daggers. These daggers were black with a white edge. This time Paul used some of the wolf bone that he kept for himself to create the handle for the daggers. He struggled quite bit since he didn¡¯t know how to use the bone efficiently. After an hour he finally succeded. Six hours and a half and the daggers were finished.

Blade created using all the skill of a skilled blacksmith using a high grade steel the bone of a powerful wolf. Special:-1/10 chance for the first hit to kill the target
Paul put the daggers into the ring and then he tried crafting a small sword. Something between a sword and a dagger. He crafted many swords but none were similar to the daggers he earlier created. After 5 hours of failures. He finally created a pair of short swords. The swords did more damage than the daggers but they could not be used as fast.

Twin blades that can be used by anyone with any two-handed weapon mastery.
He then packed up and headed to the quest board. He started looking around from the lowest rank to the highest. One quest caught his eye. It was about helping a group of soldiers clear a dungeon that has been sending some creatures to attack merchants that travel to this city. It was an D rank quest. The rewards were gold and fame. Whoever wanted to accept the quest must show up at the gate at dawn two days later. Paul decided that he was going to join the quest. He went to bed at the inn and reviewed the last 24 hours before falling asleep. The next day he headed to the tailor to check his armor. As it turns out it was just finished. Paul tried it on and it was perfect in every way. It was a combination of white and black. The tailor left some fur around the neck but since the fur was from the Alpha it offered some protection. The boots and pants were part of the set so they had the same color. Paul tried to move around and it seemd that it didn¡¯t restrain his movements at all.

It cost him 25 gold but the armor was very useful. He spent the next day buying ingredients for food since in the dungeon there wasn¡¯t any place to eat. He spent around 10 gold but he bought a lot of ingredients. Next he headed to the guild testing facility to use the cube to train using the short swords. As he entered he saw that no one used it so he went ahead and used it. He trained the rest of the day inside and the dual dagger mastery skill turned into dual weapon mastery skill at the end. He noticed that when there are a lot of enemies the daggers are more useful since you are faster but when one on one the swords are better. He went to sleep after reviewing since the next day he would go to a dungeon for the first time. < >>Next Chapter ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thx for all the comments :) I''m considering writing a new FF so i might end this sooner than i initially planned. Quote:He went to sleep after reviewing since the next day he would go to a dungeon for the first time.
Vol.2 Chapter 3-The three maggots The next day he got up earlier than usual, and equipped his new armor and weapons. After eating, he headed to the gates where the quest is starting. As arrived, there were 20 soldiers and about 3 adventurers. After a few minutes the commander stood up and approached the adventurers, Paul included. He checked the stats of each of them and rejected them since they weren¡¯t D rank. The commander then looked at the young man in front of him. After using memo to lower the luck to 50 Paul showed him his stats. The commander then with a low grumpy voice said -¡°Good enough¡Since you are a higher rank than some of the maggots here you can ask to see if any of them want to be under your command. You can have 2 of them. If none want to be under your command then you will still have the responsibilities of a squad but you will have to do them alone. ¡± -¡°I understand sir¡± Then a young man stepped in front of the soldiers. He was ignored by most of them. He didn¡¯t say anything for a minute then for a brief moment to attract their attention he released a powerful killing intent towards the soldiers. The soldiers all took their swords out and looked around. Paul smirked and released a commanding aura, more powerful even than the commanders. -¡°Who wants to join my squad?! I need two people!¡± His voice carried over like he was talking into the ears of every soldier. No one offered, they all looked around and then from the back appeared two soldiers. They were pushed by the others to the front. The soldiers all started laughing when the commander said. ¡°Good! You two are now in his squad! Weak maggots should stick together!¡± It seems that most of the soldiers were above D rank, and these two were the weakest, E ranked. They introduced themselves and Paul found out that they were called Faj and Naj. They were brothers. Naj was older by a year. Their armor was all beaten up and rusty, the swords were in similar conditions. Paul went to the commander and asked him -¡°Sir! Permission to take a different route to the dungeon¡± -¡°Only if you can get there two days from now.!¡± -¡°Of course¡± -¡°Then permission granted. If you are not there in two days your squad will be punished¡± -¡°Thank you sir¡± The commander took the route around the forest since they were many. Trough the forest their mobility would greatly decrease and it would take longer for all of them to arrive at the dungeon. The commander took the rest of the men and headed to the dungeon following the road. Paul and his squad headed in a straight line to the dungeon. At the edge of the forest Paul repaired their swords and armor and then told them what they needed to do. The plan was simple. ¡°Follow me through the forest and when a creature attacks you should defend me using all your skills and teamwork. If there are many creatures or I deem that you cannot handle them I will help you. Don¡¯t think that this will be easy¡it will be hard! This will be your training to make you stronger so that you won¡¯t die in the dungeon. Do you understand?¡± -¡°Yes sir!¡± They headed into the forest. Paul didn¡¯t use all his speed since they wouldn¡¯t be able to keep up but he wasn¡¯t slow either. His speed was just enough for the brothers to keep up. A few minutes in they were attacked by some weak pigs. The brothers killed them with some difficulty. It took them 30 minutes to kill 3 pigs. They had small injuries but Paul used some bandages on them and they were healed now. Paul took then out two bags and gave them to the brothers to carry the loot. Now they had extra weight on them while traveling. When fighting they dropped the bags. As they headed into deeper and deeper into the forest they kept fighting better and better. Now the two brothers had good teamwork. They knew each other¡¯s weaknesses and strengths. Naj was stronger and Faj was faster. After a few hours of fighting and traveling they were exhausted. Paul looked at them and decided to take a rest. Paul then cooked some food for them. They were eating like this was the first food they saw in days. Eating and resting took 30 minutes. Then they got up and continued for the rest of the day keeping around the same pace. Slowly but surely the brothers were getting stronger and faster with every fight. They didn¡¯t know but Paul didn¡¯t take them in a straight line. He took them where there were creatures strong enough to challenge them but not kill them and avoided the more powerful ones. Their stats increased and increased until they were could be considered a D rank warrior. Of course they were still weaker than Paul since he had more experience and his stats were a little abnormal. The brothers stats reached 500 in strength for Naj and in agility for Faj, but the rest of the stats were pretty low. The next day they reached the dungeon but they still had time. Paul decided that they all needed some more experience. Paul led the brothers into the forest again and told them to survive for the next 12 hours. Paul left them alone and went to hunt stronger creatures to train some himself. He didn¡¯t went too far since he had to keep an eye on the brothers to make sure they don¡¯t get themselves killed. Paul then went on a killing spree. He killed every creature that he saw, no matter the number of them. He didn¡¯t meet any creatures that challenged him that often. He also killed some creatures that were too strong for the brothers without them knowing. After 10 hours of killing everything that moved he checked his stats.

This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it. Feeling satisfied he went to the young brothers. They were exhausted but alive and well. -¡°How are you feeling now that you are under my command for this short period?¡± -¡°Sir! We are tired, hungry and hurt but we are happy.¡± -¡°Good. Now let¡¯s go eat and rest a bit near the dungeon entrance until the rest arrive¡± Now they were moving way faster than before. They arrived at the dungeon entrance in half the time it took to travel the same distance. Paul took out some bandages, healed them then he started cooking. After eating they cleaned themselves up and rested until the commander with the soldiers arrived. While waiting they talked for a bit then they just fallen asleep. 2 hours later Paul woke up hearing the soldiers arrive. He woke up the brothers as well. They were now standing near the entrance to the dungeon. The commander saw them from a distance and let out a small ¡°Tch..¡± When the commander was close he spit in front of him to the legs of the young man and the two weaklings. -¡°So¡you are on time eh? Since you arrived faster than us you must have rested. Go and scout the dungeon since we need to rest.¡± -¡°I understand.¡± Paul didn¡¯t like the commander at all. He was a lazy man that expected everything without working for it. He told the brothers to wait outside since he could move faster alone. They agreed knowing they are still weak. Paul looked at the dungeon entrance. It looked like a cave entrance with a cold and smelly air coming from inside of it. He entered carefully since he didn¡¯t know anything about this dungeon or dungeons in general. After a few minutes of walking in the dark, thanks to his night vision eyesight he noticed 2 goblins. He didn¡¯t know how powerful they were so he stabbed one in the back of the neck with a dagger. The dagger didn¡¯t penetrate the neck so Paul jumped back and put the dagger away and took out his swords. The goblins attacked him but they were clumsy. Paul put all his strength behind a blow and cut a goblins head off. The other one seeing this tried to ran away. Paul jumped in front of him and with two hits the goblin died. Now that he had time to relax he noticed that the goblins were ugly. They had a greenish thick skin that was like armor. They only wore some simple linen clothing and swords they found. Paul absorbed guild points and then absorbed the bodies. Only puddles of green blood remained. He then headed further in the dungeon after half an hour of nothing he reached an opening. He looked from the shadows and saw that there were many goblins in the next room. They were all small, ugly and similar to the ones he killed previously. He ran back as fast as possible and reported this to the commander. The commander confident in his abilities lead all the soldiers inside and when they arrived at the entrance to the room where all the goblins were commanded everyone to attack. The soldiers were all disorganized and didn¡¯t progress much. The commander tried to issue some commands but his voice was not heard from all the screams and swords clashing. After an hour of fighting about 5 soldiers died and 10 were injured pretty bad. Paul and the two brothers under him didn¡¯t have a scratch on them. Suddenly the soldiers started to retreat. Paul looked around to see what happened and noticed that the captain was gone. Probably dead. Paul took out the daggers and helped the soldiers escape. He kept the goblins back enough so that all the soldiers escaped. He was surrounded by goblins but he didn¡¯t give up. He jumped over them and ran to the exit. The goblins didn¡¯t follow since they had suffered casualties and needed to protect their home. When he got out of the dungeon, outside the soldiers were all hurt. Some more badly than others. He hurried to heal all of them. After healing them he cooked some food to warm them up and made a some camp fires since it was dark. The soldiers rested since they suffered a massive defeat. Out of 20 of them, the commander was dead and so were 6 others. Four were in no condition to fight. There were 10 of them left that could fight. Paul let them sleep while he and the two brothers kept watch so that no creature ambushes them. Paul took this opportunity to check his stats. He ignored the updates and looked directly at the final stats.

He gained more stats than he thought. He started to think about the next day, about what to do then started to review what happened. After a few hours another soldier came and took his place and Paul went to sleep. The next day he got up and was approached by a soldier. -¡°We saw that the brothers got much stronger under your command, so we decided to place our trust in you, to lead us. We must avenge our fallen comrades. Will you take this responsibility?¡± Paul didn¡¯t hesitate and nodded. < >>Next Chapter ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I already have some ideas about my next FF so when i have some extra free time i will try to start writing. Quote:The next day he got up and was approached by a soldier. -¡°We saw that the brothers got much stronger under your command, so we decided to place our trust in you, to lead us. We must avenge our fallen comrades. Will you take this responsibility?¡± Paul didn¡¯t hesitate and nodded.
Vol.2 Chapter 4-Dangerous situation He started to explain the plan to the soldiers who guttered around. The plan was pretty simple. Dig some large holes in the cave and on the bottom of the cave place the swords with the tip up so that when the creatures fall in the hole the swords would go through them. The holes don¡¯t need to be too deep, just enough so that when something falls in the hole it would be pierced. They would create 3 holes. The first would be the shallowest and the last the deepest starting from the entrance to the large room full of goblins. They will surround and push the goblins towards the exit into the traps. As they fall into the holes even if they don¡¯t die right away they would still die eventually from the bleeding and being forced downwards by the soldiers and goblins walking over them. The bigger problem was digging the holes. Paul took 5 soldiers with him. Two were to dig the hole and place the swords and the 3 and himself would keep guard in case goblins them. It took them half a day to finish the traps. They also used small branches, leaves and dirt to cover the holes. Next Paul sharpened and repaired the equipment of all the soldiers and cooked them something. They were now ready. They headed into the cave and using some wood to cross the holes. After they crossed a hole they took the wood and crossed the next one and when they finally crossed the final trap they were ready to attack. He made three teams each with three members and one that remained went with the brothers. They were all responsible to push the goblins from a direction to the narrow entrance where the traps were. Should one fail it could backfire and the goblins would surround them. Paul would go from a team to another to help them if there would be trouble. As soon as they entered they were spotted. The soldiers quickly broke into smaller groups and ran to the back of the goblins. They started to fight while slowly pushing them to the exit. There were many goblins but they were still pushed backwards by the few soldiers. Some goblins died, and seeing this the other goblins retreated a bit speeding up the process. Finally after ten minutes the first goblin fell into the hole. The other goblins noticed the trap but it was too late. The others were pushing them to their deaths. The goblins that fell into the hole didn¡¯t die immediately and when the hole was full they started to fall into the next one. Paul just to make sure started stabbing the corpses of the goblins in the hole to make sure they died. The second hole was filled even faster than the first one. Seeing that they are starting to lose the goblins started running to the exit and they soon fell into the last hole. Some tried to jump over it but it was too wide. In the end a few goblins managed to walk over the bodies of its comrades and almost escaped but Paul was faster and stood his ground in front of him. The two brothers joined him and being attacked from both sides all the goblins died. All the men let out a loud roar of victory that echoed in the cave. Like the shout ended they all fell to the ground exhausted. Paul decided to rest as well. They were now all talking and laughing like it was just an average day, like they never killed over 80 goblins. After resting Paul and the two brothers headed back deep in the cave to see if there is anything else there. The rest of the soldiers were ordered to get the bodies of the goblins out while being careful and stabbing them with the sword since there might be still more alive under the bodies. As the brother followed Paul they were looking silently around. As they reached the large room that should be empty they saw some sort of green mist on the floor, reaching their ankles. They soon noticed a large shadow in front of them. It was a huge goblin that had huge muscles and was about 3 meters tall. Its head was all full of scars and out of his mouth was leaking some green saliva. The saliva when reaching the floor turned to the green mist that covered the whole floor. It had a large two handed sword and iron armor. As he stepped a large sound was made and the dry earth underneath his feet cracked a bit. It looked strong. It was strong. Probably the strongest foe Paul has met so far. The two brothers were now pale as a sheet of paper. Paul quickly hit them lightly behind the head snapping them back to reality. He quickly ordered them to be careful and attack the legs and then retreat. Paul had in his hand the two short swords since they would me more efficient. As they stood still measuring the enemy the huge goblin started charging them. Paul was surprised by the speed of the huge goblin and barely got out of the way. The two brothers also got out the way and just as they did they jumped back and attacked the legs. They barely made any scratches. The goblins used his sword barely missing their necks. They retreated and noticed from behind the young man started charging and jumping on the back of the goblin. He used the two swords and continuously struck the neck with all the strength that he had. The monster started to try and grab him but Paul was faster and avoided the grabs. Seeing that this didn¡¯t work the monster charged at the wall with his back but the young man jumped from his back just as he reached the wall. The monster hit the wall so hard that the entire cave started shaking. Paul noticed that all his attacks were almost useless. He barely cut the skin at the neck after hundreds of strikes. Then the goblin monster angry at the little man in front of him started attacking him. He was very skilled and Paul was cut a few times. His arms were now cut in a few places. As he tried to block an attack, the strength behind the blow threw him back a few meters and numbing his hands. Thankfully the two brothers intervened and distracted the goblin long enough for Paul to recover his hands. Seeing that the sword didn¡¯t work he took out his daggers. And this time he used all his speed and jumped to the neck again. With his legs holding the neck, he didn¡¯t attack the neck this time. He went for the eyes. Using all his strength he used a dagger and stabbed the monster in the right eye. The monster let out a huge yell, Paul even fell to the ground and his ears started to bleed a bit. He partially lost his hearing and was on the floor not able to stand up. It seems that the loud yell shook his brain a bit. As he was trying to stand up, the monster noticed that this was the chance and swung his sword towards his neck. Paul was now looking at the sword coming to his neck thinking ¡°I am really going to die?¡± Before the sword reached his neck however the blade was stopped by one of the brothers saving his life. Paul saw the blade but then he saw only a shadow and blood. As he wiped the blood of his face he saw that Faj lost one of his arms and was thrown across the room. Paul was shocked and yelled out loud ¡°Naj take your brother to safety! NOW!¡± Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.Naj hurried to his brother picked him up and ran to the exit. The monster tried to stop them but Paul already recovered and with his help the brothers escaped. Paul was now boiling with anger. Because of his weakness someone lost an arm. As the anger continued to rise in him the daggers started to glow with the colors of a flame. Sometimes the flames turned blue and sometimes white. He received some sort of notification but he ignored just like the rest so far. Using all his speed in a few seconds he was under the monster. Using his daggers he cut the monsters Achilles heel and actually succeeded. The monster fell on his knees crying in pain. The whole cave started vibrating from the cries. As Paul was about to deliver the final strike the monsters skin started to turn to black. Paul jumped back since he didn¡¯t know what is happening. As soon as his whole skin was black he stood up. He healed. When he saw his face he was surprised to see that they eye also healed and was now a reddish color. The goblin suddenly used his sword. The attack was too fast. Even though Paul saw the attack coming he could avoid it completely and on his chest was a big cut and his armor fell apart. He quickly got some bandages out and covered the wound stopping the bleeding. The monster didn¡¯t attack and just let out something that looked like a smirk The young man didn¡¯t know how to defeat him. While thinking he started to use his daggers and attacked where he could. The monster this time started to avoid most of the attacks. Some attacks that reached him cut him but he was instantly healed. While barely dodging he monsters attacks he figured why not use the armguard arrows. Not noticing the soldiers that arrived from the cave he started his attack. Using all the speed he could possibly use he avoided the attack of the goblin and jumped up to his face. He covered the goblins eyes with his hands and armed the armguards. The two arrows simultaneously launched and pierced his eyes and went straight into the brain. Soon after he jumped back and prepared himself for the next attack. But the next strike didn¡¯t come. The monster goblin was now dead. The soldiers hurried to his side and kept saying something. Paul couldn¡¯t understand and was just smiling. They soon understood that he couldn¡¯t hear them so they stopped. Then they noticed another room and pointed towards it. Paul entered and saw there was a small goblin with jewels on him. The goblin kept saying something crying. Paul didn¡¯t care and just cut the head off with a single stroke. Paul then ordered the men to gather all the bodies in the main big room and rest. Paul then fell asleep while standing. The soldiers carried him to a bed they made from what they could find and went back to carry the bodies. When Paul got up he was rested and saw a huge pile of bodies in the center of the room and some guards around laughing and some sleeping. He looked and saw that the brothers were still alive even though Naj has lost an arm. He then woke everybody up and split the bodies. Each one of them got 8 goblin bodies to claim the guild points and materials. Paul got 12, the final boss and the midget goblins. Paul absorbed all the GP from the bodies and absorbed the bodies. The soldiers didn¡¯t see this since they were focused on the bodies in front of them and when they finally noticed they though Paul carried the body somewhere and didn¡¯t care much. Paul then checked his stats ignoring the updates looking only at the final stats and skills. -

Some skills leveld up but he noticed that mana sight was gone and also Aura Shift broke the previous limit. He checked the skill description
Aura shift - Intermediary LVL.5 (19%))
The strength of your aura is now stronger. You are now able to influence a large amount of people to perceive you as you wish. The effectiveness of the aura decreases for each person influenced. Aura Shift absorbed Mana sight allowing you to see mana when you direct aura to you eyes. Special: You are now able to focus your entire aura into a weapon increasing the damage and some additional proprieties.
Paul was very happy that he survived and also received a large amount of stats. He was also glad that none of the soldiers under his command died. The only serious injury was the one Naj received. Then Paul noticed the soldiers didn¡¯t care about the goblin bodies after they took the guild points. After leaving the cave Paul ordered them to stay at the entrance as he was about to crash the whole cave so that no creatures might use it again. Of course he had ulterior motives. He absorbed all the goblin bodies. The he started to use aura shift on his weapons and started to strike the walls on the way out. Close to the exit when he delivered a powerful strike the whole cave started shaking. Paul ran out fast thinking it would collapse. As he got out the cave was still standing. Angry he used his whole aura on a single sword and pierced the wall near the exit. The whole cave collapsed making a loud noise and everyone around could only see dust for a few minutes. Satisfied they rested for a few minutes in the sunlight and then headed back to Rosan. < >>Next Chapter>> Vol.2 Chapter 5-First Dungeon

Vol.2 Chapter 5-First Dungeon As they reached the city of Rosan Paul noticed that the soldiers were a bit scared. He didn¡¯t know why they were scared so he stayed vigilant. As they headed to the guard house, everyone was watching them since most of them were wounded and covered in blood. When they reached the guard house a person came out. He only had thin clothes on and at first glance resembled the dead guard captain, who died a pity death in the goblin cave. -¡°Where is my brother?¡± Paul saw that no one spoke up and took a step forwards. -¡°He was killed by the goblins¡± -¡°What?! How can that be?¡± -¡°He charged ahead and was surrounded by the goblins. We couldn¡¯t help him.¡± -¡°Tell me everything¡± Paul started telling him the story, but left out some parts that would make him or the soldiers guilty in the eyes of the brother. After finishing the story the man looked at the soldiers then at Paul. -¡°You finished the quest so you deserve your reward. The soldiers on the other hand are from this moment on banished from the guards and have one month to leave this city and never come back¡± -¡°But they didn¡¯t¡¡± -¡°Silence! Or do you want to be punished as well?¡± -¡°I understand¡± Paul was angry but held it in. He received the rewards for the quest but he was not that happy. As soon as the captains brother left he and the soldiers went to the inn. In there Paul bought everyone some food and asked them. -¡°Do you wish to follow me and my orders?¡± All the soldiers looked at Paul. Paul could see their doubtful looks and it was even easier to feel the burdensome atmosphere. Then one of them responded. -¡°We were all orphans so the other soldiers were our family. We don¡¯t have any homes to go to.¡± -¡°Is that a yes or a no?¡± -¡°We need to think about it¡± -¡°Good. For those of you who decide to join me, I will wait for you at the city gates in two weeks. If there are others in similar situations tell them that the offer stands for them as well.¡± The soldiers all nodded, and Paul left. He wanted to do something to punish the ones that rule the city. As he walked around he heard some of the guards talk about something called ¡°The entrance¡±. He sneaked around and after a few hours of listening to different guard conversations he finally knew what ¡°The entrance¡± was and where it was located. ¡°The entrance¡± was actually an entrance. It was the way in to the dungeon of the city. And the location was pretty easy to find. It was one of the most guarded places in the whole city. The entrance was somewhere in the guard house. Paul knew from the books he read that at the end of a dungeon there is the crystal that could make or destroy a city but didn''t know any details. He went to the inn and rented a room for the night. The next day he headed to the tailor to buy some armor for himself. He bought the cheapest one he could find. He just needed something to cover his thin clothes even if the armor didn¡¯t provide any real protection. I was mostly decorative. Then he headed to the library. As soon as he entered a young lady with black hair greeted him from behind her desk. She was pretty with beautiful long hair, brown eyes. The girl was biting her nails when she saw that Paul didn¡¯t look her way. After paying a small fee he was granted entrance to the library. Paul walked among the books and saw that most of them he already read before. He was searching for some information about the dungeons, cities and the connection between them. Paul expected to find very little information but he was wrong. It seems that there is a rare crystal that has the ability to build a whole city. To build anything you need to feed the crystal, either other crystals or shards of it and guild points as sort of a catalyst. Using a crystal, theoretically, you could build a whole city in a day. Anyone can use a crystal as long as they use a drop of blood on it. Once this is done you have ownership of the crystal and you can modify the city in any way you wish. The crystal bonds with the lands and if the crystal is removed, it turns to shards so you need a new crystal to be able to build anything fast. Crystals large enough to build a city are quite rare and most of the kingdoms only have about 10 cities with crystals. However, there are many shards. The cities keep them safe so in case of war they can use them to upgrade the city so that it can defend itself. A surprising fact was that the owner of the crystal can also teleport to the crystal location instantly so he doesn¡¯t need to go through the dungeon to reach the crystal every time he wants to modify the city. The dungeons are created for the sole purpose of protecting the crystal. And the only reason they don¡¯t make a room with no entrances, is that you can teleport to the crystal but you can¡¯t teleport back so you need an exit. Every ruler creates his own dungeon and teaches his next in line how to avoid the traps and anything else made to defend the crystal in case he dies. That¡¯s about all that was about the dungeons in the books. Since he didn¡¯t want to avoid an opportunity he read all the books in the library. It didn¡¯t take him long. He read all the books in an hour. The information that he got from the books wasn¡¯t useful for the moment but he never knew what might be useful and what not. He left the library satisfied and headed to the guild testing building. He waited in line for his turn. When it was finally his turn someone barged in front of him. -¡°Excuse me. Please wait your turn¡± -¡°I don¡¯t need to wait. My father is a very powerful man in this city.¡± Everybody looked down and didn¡¯t say anything. Paul knew that it would be bad to mess with him so he decided to at least learn his name, and take revenge later. -¡°And what is your name, if you don¡¯t mind¡± -¡°Someone in this city doesn¡¯t know me? Very well. My name is Furti Marciolly Rotis the second¡± -¡°I see. Well go ahead¡± Paul let him use the crystal first and. The man didn¡¯t even ask Paul¡¯s name since he didn¡¯t consider him any important. After his test was finished he started swearing and kicking the tables and chairs. ¡®It seems that he didn¡¯t got the results he wished for.¡¯ Paul stepped up and put his hand on the crystal. After the test was over he checked his stats.

He reached rank C. It was no wonder since his stats increased by killing all the goblins and the goblin boss. Even though he could check his mana and health points he felt that they were also very high. Satisfied he headed to the market and walked around until midnight and then went to bed. The next day he headed back to the testing facility and went back to try and improve his skills with the weapons. He expected to see the same cube as in the village but he was surprised to see 5 cubes and many people were standing in line at each one. He went around asking some information about this situation and it seems that each cube has a rank. Your can only use the cube that has your rank or lower. In the lowest E rank cube you can only fight yourself. Stolen story; please report. In the D rank cube you can fight a certain type of monster. In the C rank cube you can fight different types of humans. In the B rank cube you can fight up to three of the same enemy. In the A rank cube you can fight up to ten enemies and each can be different. Paul didn¡¯t hesitate and headed to the C rank one. He waited for a whole hour before his turn came up. As he touched the crystal he chose the short swords and then he saw that he could chose the type of his enemy. He chose a barbarian like man who had enormous strength. As he entered the cube he picked up his weapons and a huge golem appeared in front of him. The huge golem started attacking him with his huge two handed sword. He was fast and strong. It was almost as strong as the goblin boss. After two hours he finally got out of the cube and left to the inn. He ordered some food and while waiting he started thinking of a way to reach the dungeon. After eating he headed to the guard house. Using stealth he looked around and looked at all the soldiers that were inside, how they acted, where they went. He looked and remembered every pattern and information he could about the soldiers. Then he retreated back to the inn. For the next week he went to train himself. He used the cube to train against golems that had similar characteristics to a soldier. However he didn¡¯t use his weapon at all. All he did was avoid them as much as possible. Finally after one week he could avoid all the attacks for two hours. He was now ready to infiltrate the guard house and enter the dungeon. Before heading to the guard house he went to the inn and rested so that he could be in top condition. The next day he went to the marked and bought something, that he read in the books. It was a combination of sleeping powder and smoke bomb. When thrown it releases a powder that when inhaled instantly knocks you out. Then he waited until the night fell and headed to the house of Furti Marciolly Rotis. It was easy to find. He sneaked inside and set small fires in different parts of the mansion. Then he hid himself close to the guard house. After a few minutes a man ran into the building and then followed by about 20 guards they left. ¡®It seems that my distraction was successful¡¯ He sneaked into the building and saw that there were still a few guards around. They were guarding the door that seemed to lead to the basement. There were 5 guards. He threw the sleep bomb and the guards instantly fell to the ground. Paul used a piece of cloth to cover his face and searched the guards for a key. He found two keys and opened the door with one of them. As he went down the stairs there saw another guard at a door. Paul using his sneaking skill he got close and then hit him behind the neck. The guard fell like a doll. The other key was used to open this door. He entered and there was a circular room with a trap door in the middle. He approached the door and opened it. The door was made from wood but it was as heavy as one made from iron. He descended using the ladder. After one minute he reached the bottom. There were some small crystals along the wall that gave of some light. He followed carefully the tunnel until he reached the end. At the end there was a room with two tunnels. He picked up a large rock and threw it in one of them. As soon as he threw the rock he could hear some mechanical sounds from the tunnel, some other noises. He picked up another similar rock and threw it in the other one. This time he only heard the rock falling. He decided to head into the one with the traps since there must be something to protect, that¡¯s why there are traps. As he headed in he took out the longest sword he had and started hitting the ground with the tip just like a blind person. After a few seconds he already reached the first trap. A small tile entered slightly into the ground and arrows came out of the wall. If he had stepped on that rock he would have had a hard time avoiding them. As he went forward into the dungeon he kept bumping into different types of traps. There were arrows, pitfalls, large blades , poison and the most difficult part of the dungeon was the maze. Many times he had to go back and go the other way since he ran into a dead end. Finally after a few hours he reached something promising. An old wooden door. He opened the door without any problems and in front of him there was a room. In that room there wasn¡¯t anything out of the ordinary except the small pool. He put everything that he didn¡¯t need in the ring and entered the water. The water was a bit chilly but it wasn¡¯t a problem. The problem was that he didn¡¯t know how much he needed to keep his breath. He emptied a few flasks he had on him and sealed them. Now he had some air reserves. He put them into the ring and then took a deep breath and dove into the water. As soon as he reached a certain distance underwater there were no more crystals and there was complete darkness. However Paul didn¡¯t need light and using his night vision he continued forward. After a minute he reached two holes which were the size of a man. He didn¡¯t know which one was correct so he decided to take a gamble. He headed right. After a minute he ran out of air and took out one of the flask. He opened the flask with his tongue since he didn¡¯t want any of the air to escape. Now he could go on for a little longer. As he headed deeper and deeper into the water minutes tunnels, passed like hours and he started to run out of air and air reserves. As he started to feel a bit of despair in his hearth he saw a small light ahead. Using all his strength he went as fast as possible towards the light. Upon reaching it he saw that it was some sort of a bioluminescent underwater plant. He then saw the end. It was finally the end and he headed upwards. When he reached the surface he saw that there were many light crystals and it was like a small forest. You couldn¡¯t even see the rocks on the side. It was full of plants. It seems that the light crystals have similar effects to the sun. He knew he was close to the end, but he also knew that there must be a final trap or something. He continued on ahead carefully. As he continued forward he started getting more and more dizzy. He quickly figured out that it was some sort of poison and put a cloth to his face. It got better but he was still dizzy and his movements were slower. As he kept going he only got worse and then some vines started tangle around his legs. The vines were moving like they were alive trying to trap any living thing that passed by. Paul took out his sword and with one hand he held the cloth to his face and with the other he cut the vines continuously. The vines weren¡¯t strong but were still deadly if you slowed down since they would trap you and slowly kill you. As he got worse and worse he saw ahead some stairs. Using the last bit of his strength he ran ahead while swinging the word at the vines. He fell a few times and almost got trapped by the vines but he finally reached the stairs. As he climbed the stairs the vines didn¡¯t come at him any more. At the top of the stairs there was a white door with some writing on it. He didn¡¯t care and was to dizzy to read what it said and tried to open the door as fast as he could. He pushed and no matter how much strength he put in the door didn¡¯t budge and he only got worse. As he got dizzy he started falling on his back and tried to grab anything to stop himself from falling; He grabbed the door and the door opened. He quickly got himself back up on feet and entered closing the door behind him. As he got into the room he fell down on his back exhausted and laughing thinking ¡®Stupid door. Pull, don¡¯t push...huh..hahahahaha¡¯ His laugh suddenly stopped and he fainted. < >>Next Chapter>> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I know it took a while for this chapter to come out...i hope you like it. Vol.2 Chapter 6-Following the Road Paul slowly opened his eyes. As he did he noticed the ceiling that was full of some vines. He quickly grabbed his sword prepared to defend himself but the vines didn¡¯t move -¡°So they are different¡normal plants¡± As he looked more carefully around the room he noticed that in the center there was a large crystal that was pulsating light. He quickly ran over, bit his finger and put his blood on the crystal becoming the new owner. The crystal was white with some grey and gold mixed in. It was the size of a coconut and had similarities to a coral reef. It was like an explosion frozen in time. It had sharp edges. The crystal was on some sort of altar. -¡°They probably realized that someone got into the dungeon. I don¡¯t want the city ruler to teleport here. I don¡¯t know how powerful he is. Still I might need to be careful since they might send someone after me.¡± So Paul decided that before anything else he would modify the dungeon. As soon as he became the owner of the crystal and all its abilities he somehow knew already what he could do with it. He touched it and closed his eyes. In his mind a 3D map appeared and as soon as he thought of something the map would change. However to actually implement all the modifications he would need to say out loud ¡°Change accepted¡±. Paul changed the dungeon quite a bit so that no one could know the way. After making some slight changes he released the crystal and looked around. This time he saw some chests In the room. He didn¡¯t notice them before since they were somewhat covered in vines and they looked to be made from stone. -¡°Weird chests. Made from stone. Why would they made it from stone..¡± He removed the vines with a dagger. He opened one of the chests with some difficulty. Inside the chest there was only pieces of crystal, some small and some larger. There were thousands of shards and Paul only opened the smallest chest. Then he opened the rest of the chests. The bigger chests were quite difficult to open. The material from which the chests were made was quite hard and heavy. In the end a few chests had more crystals and some had gold coins. They probably stored all the gold and crystals in that room since it was the safest place in the whole city. Only the ruler could get there in an instant. They stored crystal shards for only one reason. In case of war they could modify the city into a fortress. ¡°They must have been storing gold and crystal shards for a very long time to get this many. I wonder how common wars are¡¡± He absorbed everything, all 2 739 832 gold coins and all the crystal shards. Since the shards aren¡¯t the same size it is difficult to estimate how much would require building a house or anything else. Paul then proceeded back to the command crystal. He could visualize in real time everything in the city. -¡°Finally¡.let¡¯s have some fun¡± He identified with ease the nobles. They had all the big buildings. Paul first made sure that there weren¡¯t any people inside the houses by luring them out with some slight modifications. Paul noticed that everyone left the buildings, some even started screaming and running as far as they could. The elf could clear several houses at once. It seems that the crystal increases his thinking process well. After clearing the houses he destroyed the house by making the earth swallow it. Everyone watched as large buildings just disappeared into the earth and they could only watch. Instead of the large houses, Paul created them a small wooden house. While absorbing the large building Paul instinctively knew that he gained all the materials and could use them elsewhere. Every times he creates something energy disappears from the crystal and every time he absorbs something energy increases. It was very similar to mana and magic. Each crystal has a finite amount of energy and to keep creating you need more crystals. He now understood some of the logic of the crystals. Using the energy he gained from the noble houses he successfully renovated all the building of the commoners and had more energy left. He created them then some fountains and improved the farmland. Not having anything else to do he remembered. He modified the dungeon on last time. Paul created a straight line to the outside without any dangers or traps. Just a long corridor that led him outside the city. Paul removed his hands from the crystal and then gently lifted the crystal. The moment the crystal didn¡¯t touch the altar it cracked and shards of it started to fall. Paul absorbed all the shards and not having anything else to do he exited the room. After opening the door he saw only a long corridor. In a few minutes he finally reached the end and saw some sunlight. As he stepped outside he breathed in the fresh air and the smell of flowers. He looked around and recognized the place. He knew that he wasn¡¯t far away from the city gates. He slowly walked to the gate taking his time. As he approached he saw a large crowd near the gate. The were some with carts and some with only a bag. As he got closer he recognized some of them. Among them were the two brothers, Naj and Faj. They also noticed Paul. -¡°Hey. I though you forgot about us.¡± -¡°What do you mean?¡± -¡°You told us to met you here remember? And also spread the word to other who wanted to join¡± -¡°Yes.¡± -¡°Well today is the day you told us to meet.¡± It seems that Paul slept in the dungeon for a longer time than he realized. -¡°Yes. But why are there so many people here? -¡°Well some people heard the rumors and asked if they could join¡± -¡°Rumors?¡± -¡°About you. They heard that you will lead everyone abandoned by the city¡± -¡°Lead? Lead them where¡± -¡°They don¡¯t care where. They believe anywhere is better than here¡± Paul looked around and saw that there were over 70 people and among them only 30 had weapons. Paul listened to the brothers explain who the people where. A few of them were soldiers, some farmers, some traders, some hunters but all of them lost everything and had no future in the city. There were also some city guards staying alert in case there might be a riot. Paul not feeling tired at all used his aura to silence everyone and then he spoke up in a clear voice that everyone heard no matter how far they were. -¡°Everyone my name is Paul. If you wish to follow me you need to follow my orders. We don¡¯t have a destination. Some of you might die in the process. Those of you who still wish to join me¡.just follow me. This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it. Paul then started walking following the south road. Out of 70, 55 followed Paul. Minutes later, once the city was further away Paul stopped and so did everyone else. Paul asked to see how many of them knew how to fight. Out of 55 only 30 knew how to use a weapon. Paul then explained how they will travel. The ones who know how to fight would be on the outside and the others in the center. The fighter could protect the weak. Paul told them to prepare for any situation and while the checked their weapons, supplies and anything else Paul ran as fast as he could back to the city. The city was very loud. There were many soldiers and guards walking around. Paul knew that he was the cause of this. Not attracting any attention he headed to the market place. He brought a cart. After filling the cart with food he went to a place where he could not be seen and absorbed all the food. He repeated this process a few times. In the end he spend 50 gold on food. After buying as much food he believed was enough he placed in the cart as many pelts as he could and then sold them. He sold all the pelts for 60 gold. After not needing the cart anymore he sold it at half the price he bought it. ¡®These supplies should last us at least a month¡¯ Paul went straight to the gate. He avoided all the guards since he didn¡¯t want to get stopped. He left the city without any problems and reached his people in no time. -¡°So, are you all ready to go?¡± Every person responded positively and they started moving again. They moved at a slower pace than Paul was used to. They also needed to stop from time to time to rest. The ones who had some sort of training didn¡¯t get tired but the rest did. As they followed the road the city was no longer visible. On the right of the road there was a green field for a long distance. On the left there was a small river and some trees. They walked for quite some time. Now the road ahead was going through a forest and it was night so Paul decided to stop and sleep on the edge of the forest. He ordered 10 of the fighters to guard the rest of the people. And he took 5 of them with him into the forest hunting. Paul already heard wolves howling as they entered the forest. The 5 joining him could hear Paul say -¡°Excellent¡± Soon the wolves could be heard. Paul just told the men -¡°Gather every body you find¡± They didn¡¯t know what Paul meant and looked confused at each other. Paul then smiled and went on a rampage killing every wolf he saw. After killing about 40 of them there was no other wolf. He helped carry the bodies of the wolves in one pile. He then remove the pelt¡¯s and gave them to the 5 men with him. He told them to return and give the pelts to those who need it. The 5 men grabbed the pelts and ran towards the camp. Paul then continued hunting. He finally found another large wolf pack and killed them with ease. He removed the pelts and put them in the ring leaving the rest of the remains to the forest. Having enough pelts he returned and when close to the forest edge he got out all the pelts from his ring and carried them. He handed pelts to those that didn¡¯t receive one. Everybody thanked him. During the night people took shifts and the rest slept, Paul included. The next day they had breakfast and they went back to the road. In the forest the road was rougher and they had to move slower since the carts couldn¡¯t keep up with the normal speed. There were some creatures that attacked but they were weak and Paul didn¡¯t even need to act, the ones responsible to keep them rest safe killed them. During the night it was more dangerous in the forest so half of those that could fight stayed awake. And then the changed shifts. Paul also helped. During the night they were attacked by some goblins, a bear and some plant like creatures. There were some injuries but Paul healed them without any problems. The next day Paul went ahead a few times to make sure that there weren¡¯t any dangers. Each time he encountered something he defeated it with ease. They were in the forest for two full days. When finally they reached the end everybody was brimming with joy. They finally felt the sunlight on their skin. In the forest the sun did pierce the trees from time to time but it didn¡¯t last long. As soon as Paul got out of the forest he was stunned by the beautiful view. In the distance there were tall mountains that reached the clouds. The clouds kept changing color like a rainbow. He heard someone talk about them and after finding more information about them he learned that the clouds are changing color as a natural phenomenon. It is quite unique and they are called rainbow clouds. Paul then looked around and saw a small lake nearby. He headed there and made camp. They all rested for a full day. That day, while resting Paul told them that they will be going towards the mountains so they should get as much rest as they could. They were not attacked by any creature. Strangely enough they didn¡¯t see any creature. It seemed like nothing was alive around them, not even bird flew by. Next to the lake there was a large rock formation. Some of the travelers made camp in the shadow. Some of them even jumped into the lake. The lake water was quite pleasant. Then Paul observed something. ¡®The water is a bit strange¡It shouldn¡¯t be this clean after everyone washed themselves in it. It should at least have some blood or dirt mixed in it.¡¯ As he looked at the water he didn¡¯t find anything weird. Even after using identify there was just regular water. As he studied the water there was a small earthquake for a few seconds. There were a few more after that. Paul then asked everyone to give them their equipment to repair. While Silver was repairing the items, some of the people kept playing in the water, some ate, laughed and talked. It was like this was what they did their entire lives. Then there was another earthquake but Paul ignored it and focused on the items. Then he heard a woman scream followed by other screams. When he looked out of the tent that the people made for him towards the screams, what he saw made him freeze while everyone else was running towards the forest abandoning their belongings. Some of them tried to get it¡¯s attention so that others could escape. Paul quickly snapped out of it and grabbed his two swords and headed towards the largest living creature he saw so far in this world. His heart was beating like crazy. Paul was scared. -¡°Seriously¡could it get any worse?¡± < >>Next Chapter>> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ :hi: Hope you like the new chapter Edenawe will be on a short hiatus until somewhere in November. Vol.2 Chapter 7- Darkness As he looked at the large creature in front of him he was shocked since he didn¡¯t see anything like this before. The creature was about 10 meters tall, it was made from earth and some stones were mixed. It was like a mountain came to life. On its back and chest it had very large rock like formations that were similar to armor. On the surface of the earth like skin there was something similar to the veins in the human body with the exception that there was no blood in them. In the monster¡¯s veins there was something blue. It looked like water mixed with mana. The creature in front of him reminded him of what he read about golems, so he decided to call it that. The golem wasn¡¯t very fast but it still killed many of the people that didn¡¯t get a chance to run. Some of them that knew how to fight attacked it. Sadly they didn¡¯t do any damage. The golem didn¡¯t seem to feel pain and only looked annoyed. It was very strong. With one hit he crushed one of them, breaking the sword and armor. Each hit made a loud noise like canon. Seeing that they can¡¯t hurt it, Paul yelled at them to retreat into the forest. While they retreated Paul distracted the golem. He avoided all the attacks of the monster, but it seemed like it kept getting faster and faster. Paul skillfully avoided the attacks and attacked the legs. Paul cut pretty deep into the legs, but it regenerated in a few seconds. Seeing that this tactic doesn¡¯t work he used aura shift and the blades started to be covered in a blue flame. Using the enhanced blades he attacked again this time completely destroying one of the golem¡¯s legs. The golem fell down and a large club started to appear in its hand. It attacked Paul and seeing that he can¡¯t completely dodge it he jumped back to soften the blow. The golem¡¯s strike was so strong that it threw him 50 meters away and breaking one of the swords. While he recovered from the shock he took out one of the backup swords he made and prepared for the next attack. He saw that the golem completely recovered but it didn¡¯t follow him. It kept on eye on Paul while approaching some of the dead bodies. He picked one up and a mouth like hole appeared and just consumed the whole body. Paul instincts warned him to stop the golem from consuming more bodies. He ran as fast as he could and attacked destroying both its legs. Since the golem was now on its back Paul struck the head. The head was stronger and barely scratched it. The golem struggled and Paul needed to retreat a few meters since he could get seriously injured. Then the golem did something weird. It crawled to the small lake and put its hand in it. The water level decreased a bit and almost instantly the golem regenerated and the veins started pulsating with light. The golem then ran towards Paul with twice the speed it had before and attacked. Paul had to use his whole speed to avoid the attacks. One of the attacks again threw him quite a distance and this time the golem followed Paul. Paul knew what kind of attack was coming and this time he took almost no damage. He quickly got up on his legs and ran towards the golem too. He destroyed the club with his swords but the club reappeared again. The golem absorbs earth from the surroundings and regenerates from any damage. Paul tried to attack just the veins but sadly they regenerated just as fast. Paul knew that he had to keep the golem away from the water but he couldn¡¯t. As soon as he and the golem go far enough from the lake the golem somehow managed to push Paul back towards it. Each time Paul managed to seriously harm it, the golem just absorbed some of the water from the lake and regenerated. Each time he regenerated he also got stronger and faster. Now Paul could only partially destroy his leg. Paul tried to retreat a few times to the forest and escape but it was like the golem knew and stopped him. After successfully destroying the golem¡¯s legs, Paul tried to stop the golem from absorbing water. He attacked the arm that was reaching into the river but it seems the golem had foreseen this situation and increased the durability of the arm. Paul could only scratch it. This time when he regenerated his whole body started to shake. His body started to change color. Some of the grey rocks turned black and so did the earth ¡°flesh¡±. He also had increased the amount of rocks in his body. After this regeneration the golem was as fast as Paul, even faster. And the strength was of the charts. Each hit created a small crater in the ground and it seemed like there were small earthquakes. Paul used all his strength and attacked the golem and broke his swords. He used up all the backup swords and daggers. They all became useless and broke. Now Paul had no weapons to use so he just avoided all the attacks. He used Aura shift on a hunch on his hands. The same flames that appeared on his swords were now on his hands. Unfortunately Paul didn¡¯t know how to fight hand to hand. He still tried to strike the golem. Some of the strikes did some damage but they couldn¡¯t compare to the damage the blades did. As he started to wish he had more swords the flames changed shape and the flame center solidified into a blade. Surprised by this development he attacked with his new flame blades. The blades cut through the rocks and earth like it was butter. Since the blades were not long enough to cut through the whole leg Paul needed to cut multiple times to sever the leg. When the monster fell again, Paul kept attacking with his blades. This time he finally managed to stop the golem from reaching into the water. Feeling proud he broke concentration for a second and the golem took advantage of this. He struck Paul so hard that this time he didn¡¯t have time to dodge. Paul flew like a rag doll trough the air before finally falling down. Paul had his left hand and a few ribs broken. He could barely move. -¡°I¡¯m not even able to move properly. If I could barely fight him before, now I have no chance.¡± As he stared at the golem he knew. He knew that unless a miracle happens he was going to die. The golem grabbed Paul and threw him to the ground near the lake. He didn¡¯t die but his right hand was now broken as well. Paul crawled to the lake and drank some water but it didn¡¯t have the same effect as on the golem. He didn¡¯t heal. The golem grabbed his leg and started to throw him around. After barely staying conscious he saw that the golem didn¡¯t kill him even though he could. The golem was playing with his prey. It knew that Paul was not a danger anymore and was enjoying himself. Paul had almost every bone in his body broken. He fainted only to be brought back to conciseness by the pain. The golem was a sadist. It seems the golem liked to cause pain. As Paul finally accepted that he was going to die there was a very loud bang up in the sky. This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. The golem froze at the noise and looked up. He saw nothing then looked around. Still seeing nothing he got back to playing with his new toy. As the golem approached Paul he stopped. He was stopped again by that loud bang. However this time the source of the noise was closer and also there was a large dust wall from the source. Paul barely conscious saw that there was a person in the dust cloud. The shadow of the man gently walked towards the golem and when the dust settled there was a large crater and the ground was burned from where the man came. It was like a meteorite struck the ground. The meteorite however was a man with a cloak on. Paul couldn¡¯t see him well. He only saw a black figure approaching the golem. The golem seemed to consider that man a threat and attacked him. However the man easily avoided all the attacks. It was like the golem was a child trying to attack an adult. The cloaked man then lifted his arm slowly and flicked the golems arm. The arm was instantly vaporized. The golem had no chance and tried to run towards the lake to heal. Unfortunately for the golem that cloaked man stepped in front of him and jumped, or floated more likely. He pushed his hand into the golem¡¯s chest and the golem froze. The man pulled out a crystal like egg with his hand. The crystal was blue and pulsating just like the veins on the golem did. The moment the man removed the crystal the golem instantly turned to rubble. The man then looked at the crystal. Paul didn¡¯t have the concept of time anymore. He kept fainting. For him it seemed like the man stared at the crystal for a minute when suddenly he crushed the crystal with his bare hands and yelled out loud. -¡°DAMMIT!!! THIS ISN¡¯T IT EITHER!!!!!¡± The loud voice shocked Paul and tried to speak up. The man noticed him and approached him in the blink of an eye. He picked up Paul by the collar and stared. Paul still couldn¡¯t see his face. Then the man with an angry voice asked Paul -¡°Do you know where the source of the golem power is?¡± Paul could barely speak but managed to answer -¡°N¡.No¡± -¡°Do you know what the FAINO is then?¡± -¡°No¡.¡± cough, cough Paul coughed out blood. The man then with a calm voice said ¡°You are useless¡± and pierced his chest with his hand. Then the man threw him into the lake. While Paul was in the air he saw that the man suddenly disappeared. As Paul fell into the lake his heart stopped but he his mind was still ¡°alive¡±. He couldn¡¯t believe what just happened. He thought the man had saved him. As he slowly drifted to the bottom of the lake his heart started slowly beating again. It seems that the water does have healing proprieties even for humans. Paul tried to move but his body didn¡¯t listen to him. The water was healing him but very slowly. The only thing that the water healed so far was his heart that barely started beating again. All the other wounds were still there. As he kept getting further and further away from the surface he realized that he wasn¡¯t drowning. It was like he was floating in something different and not water. He didn''t bleed anymore but his wounds weren''t closing. As he kept going deeper and deeper even the light stopped reaching him. Paul was surrounded by complete darkness. He couldn¡¯t even see his own body. His body was still hurting so he knew that he was alive but he just couldn¡¯t move. Each time he tried to move his mind received a painful shock. Surrounded by darkness he started to think about all that happened so far. How he got into this world, Jonathan, Nori, the other people who helped him, all the events that he went through, the golem and the man in the cloak. Each time he remembered the man in the cloak he felt anger and confusion. He still kept fainting from time to time and in that complete darkness he didn¡¯t know how much time passed since the event. It seemed like days went by and Paul was still unable to move. He didn¡¯t know anymore which way was up and which way was down. Sometimes he felt that there was something around him that moved the water or whatever that was that in turn caused Paul¡¯s body to move. He tried to activate his skills multiple times but failed each time. Suddenly he saw something, a small light in the distance. His body was slowly moving towards it. Paul was very curious as to what was giving off light. He ruled out the surface since the light was sometimes blue, sometimes green and sometimes pure white. As he got closer to the source of the light he saw an orb of some sort of liquid that sometimes lost it¡¯s perfectly circular shape. The light wasn¡¯t strong enough to blind him, but just bright enough to not be able to look at it directly. As soon as he was about 5 meters away from the light liquid he saw that the liquid orb was about the size of his head. When he got closer the orb stopped spinning and some small tentacle like things started to head towards Paul. When the liquid reached Paul¡¯s body it went straight to the open wounds and mouth. As the liquid entered Paul¡¯s body, he started to feel warm. As more and more of the mysterious liquid entered Paul he enjoyed the feeling of warmth more and more. After the whole liquid entered Paul¡¯s body, there was no more light source so he was again surrounded by darkness. The warmth in his body spread to every part of him and then suddenly disappeared. Instead of warmth, Paul¡¯s whole body started to scream in pain. The pain was worse than all the pain he felt before. He could even feel, and hear his bones break, his skin being torn apart. He didn¡¯t faint and the pain only increased. It was like all the pain he felt until now came all at once. Then after what seemed like forever the pain suddenly stopped. Paul then relieved that the pain was gone, started to drown. It seems that the liquid made it possible for him to not need air underwater and now since it¡¯s gone its effects are gone as well. Paul somehow after the liquid entered his body he could feel the direction of where the surface was and with a simple movement of the leg he turned into a underwater rocket. He reached the surface in a few seconds. As soon as he reached the surface he jumped out of the water like a fish. He then breathed relieved and fell on his back looking up at the sky. Even the air that he considered natural he now considered precious. There were some dark clouds in the sky and not long after it started raining. Paul didn¡¯t care and just laughed out loud as hard as he could as he kept watching the sky, feeling the rain hit his face and skin. Then suddenly the laughing stopped as he fell asleep. Paul was very tired everything he went trough. He was even more tired mentally from all the pain and emotions he felt. < >>Next Chapter>> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ It''s back! Vol.2 Chapter 8- Rebirth When he finally opened his eyes the sky was clear blue. He couldn¡¯t hear any noises around him and he got up. As he did he noticed some changes. He now had a long hair, long beard both long enough to reach the ground. His muscles were only very slightly bigger but they looked more refined. He only had a fraction of the armor and clothes he had before. Only a shirt full of a large hole in the center and other smaller holes. His pants were now shorts, and his boots were gone. Realizing that he didn¡¯t check his stats he looked at the bracelet with some hesitation and looked at the changes. He skipped the windows that were about everything before him falling into the water since they were mostly about him losing health and increased endurance. You have less than 0.5% health left. Every stat reached a level Paul could only dream of. It was like only moments ago he was barely a C rank adventurer and now he had stats that could easily give him the A rank. As he closed his stats he started to wander what that artifact was. He wasn¡¯t sure but he believed that the man that pierced his chest was probably looking for that item. He started looking around to try to figure out how much time has passed since he almost died. He approached the body of the golem. Well, the body of the golem now looked like a pile of rocks and earth. He tried to see if he can absorb any guild points but nothing happened. Still he absorbed them all since there could be something that he could use later. He then took out some clothes from his stash. As he tried to put them on he ripped them without wanting to. -¡°That¡¯s weird. Why do the clothes rip so easily¡.¡± Next he picked up a sword from the ground and as he gripped it he destroyed it. -¡°Oh¡.so that¡¯s it. I have power but I can¡¯t control it¡yet.¡± As he tried to be gentle with everything he finally put on clothes on but the weapons he just put away. The clothes on Paul were low quality but at least he wasn¡¯t almost naked. He cut of most of his beard since he couldn¡¯t cut it all off because of his lack of control over his strength. He also cut his hair that was now reaching his waist. He looked around and saw some smoke rising up from the forest. He headed towards the smoke since that the smoke could be from the survivors that were following him. As he intended to run he forgot that his body changed and like a speeding bullet he headed towards the forest. He smashed into a large tree from the edge of the forest and completely destroyed it. He didn¡¯t lose any health but he was still surprised by his strength every time. Then he tried walking, but again because of his strength it was like he was running. He had no real control so he often smashed into trees and rocks. When he finally reached the fire location he saw that the people around the fire were actually the ones who followed him. The people didn¡¯t recognize him immediately and pointed the swords towards him with fear. They were slightly shaking in the presence of a long haired, long bearded, bloodied and full of dirt man. -¡°Who are you? What do you want?!¡± -¡°It¡¯s me¡.Paul Silver. Oh¡.i forgot. Yes I did change a bit.¡± -¡°But¡what happened back there?¡± -¡°What do you mean?¡± -¡°Well the attack happened two days ago¡Where were you?¡± -¡°I¡.survived but I was wounded very badly.¡± They all looked relieved and some energy came back to their faces. Paul looked around and saw that there were only 10 of them. Three of them were holding weapons made from steel, and the others were holding some wood spears. ¡®So only 3 of them know how to fight¡¡¯ -¡°Where are the rest?¡± -¡°Well¡.when the monster attacked we all ran into the forest. We survived and we looked for the others but it was very difficult. ¡° -¡°Hmmmm¡it¡¯s ok. Head back to the lake. I will look for the others¡± -¡°But¡¡± -¡°Don¡¯t worry¡it¡¯s safe now.¡± They all got up and happy that they could finally leave the forest left towards the lake. Paul on the other hand started to look for the others. That wasn¡¯t his only objective though. He also wanted to learn to control his strength. He spent the whole day in the forest and didn¡¯t find anyone but he did get a better control over his power. He now crashed into the trees only a few times. He also brought food out from his ring before reaching the lake. When the men saw the food they eyes opened up wide and their moths opened with saliva dripping out. They ate only nuts and grass, since they couldn¡¯t go hunting leaving the other unprotected. Unauthorized usage: this tale is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings. After they all ate they went to sleep. Paul went to sleep as well. The next day Paul got up first and headed into the forest. After spending about 6 hours he finally found another small camp. This time he found the two brothers protected other 3. The brothers recognized him as soon as they saw him. While going back to the lake Paul found out that the brothers went to hunt often so they weren¡¯t starving but were still a bit dehydrated. They didn¡¯t want to leave the camp since it had a good defensive position. Paul spent in about a week going in and out of the forest. He didn¡¯t need to sleep as much since the transformation. He only slept for about 2-3 hour every day and it was like he slept 10. He didn¡¯t get tired at all no matter how much he searched for others. After the week of searching, there were 25 people that were still alive. Paul now could control his strength enough so that he won¡¯t crash into a tree or crush a sword. During the day he searched the forest and during the night, when he wasn¡¯t sleeping he trained himself so that he could do what he wanted without destroying everything. Then he looked to the camp and told the others -¡°I didn¡¯t find anyone else in the forest¡so I believe it is time to keep moving. We will head towards the mountains as intended before. Pack up and get ready, we leave in one hour.¡± Everyone started to pack up the things that they still had. They were relieved that they were finally going towards a place that might hold civilization. Now that Paul had some control over his power he kept going on ahead and returning to the group. He tested his strength multiple times. There weren¡¯t any creatures around since they must have been afraid of the golem. Even if the golem was gone, the fear was still in their minds. After 2 days the group finally reached a small river that was coming from the mountains. The water was cool and refreshing. There were also many types of fish in the river. They made camp and after eating Paul went further ahead this time. As he kept going, he finally saw ahead a small village. He didn¡¯t went into it but he looked at it from a distance. Since his transformation his senses also increased so he could see everything in the village. The village was small. It had only a few houses and he saw that there were only old people and children. He went back to the group and told them about the village. They all were very happy and after two days they all reached the village. Paul hid his strength and told the others to be careful as well. When they reached the village everyone kneeled and with tears in their eyes started to ask -¡°Pleas don¡¯t take away the children as well. Please.¡± Paul looked around confused. -¡°Uhmmm¡..we don¡¯t know what you are talking about. We just got to this village¡± -¡°What? You mean you are not with them? -¡°Them? Who is them? -¡°The group called The Rippers¡± Everyone in the village breathed relieved and then looked at Paul and the others with some disappointment. -¡°Please leave. If the catch you here you will be enslaved and they will punish us for hiding you¡± -¡°How about I help you with them and in return you will allow us to stay in this village for a while¡± -¡°They are very strong. Even the village champion couldn¡¯t defeat them¡so what could you do?¡± -¡°Don¡¯t worry¡¡± -¡°I¡¯m sorry but I can¡¯t believe you¡± Paul looked at the old man and then saw a huge boulder with some pickaxes next to it. There were small scratches on the rock. It seems that they tried to destroy the rock. Paul approached the boulder. It was 3 meters tall and wide. Paul then lifted his hand slowly and just as slowly touched the rock with his hand. Then the instant he touched the rock he continued to push trough. In the boulder cracks started to appear and finally it split in half. The old man couldn¡¯t believe what he saw. His companions didn¡¯t believe it either. They knew that Paul had gotten stronger but they didn¡¯t know by how much. -¡°Wha¡..how¡..How is that possible?¡± -¡°So do we have a deal?¡± -¡°DEAL!¡± The old man was named Oniral and he was the village elder, something like a ruler. Paul asked as many questions as he could about the people calling themselves the Ripper. He found out that they were a group of bandits that appeared a few months ago and they started to terrorize the people. Their location is unknown but they appear twice every month and steal all that they can. There are multiple villages around, and they are all under the same circumstances. Then something changed. Two weeks ago they suddenly came and took all the young men and took them away. There are some cities close but they ignore the villages since they are isolated and the bandits don¡¯t attack them. After finding all the information that he could from all the people in the village, Paul asked his group to guard the village until he returns. He left and headed towards the other villages. In each village it was the same story. He visited all 10 villages around. After talking to everyone he could he didn¡¯t find out much. He returned to the first village and he started to organize all the information about them. It seems that the bandits approach each village exactly at the same time. In each village there are about 5 bandits that attack. They are according to the villagers pretty strong. They said that they are around C rank. ¡®So there must be around 50 of them that attack the villages. There also must be some that guard their base. So¡.around 80-100 bandits? Probably¡.A place that can hold that many of them¡there must be something¡.¡¯ He went to Oniral and asked him if there is any place where about 100 people could live. He was surprised and just mumbled to himself for a few minutes when he finally spoke. -¡°If what you are saying is true¡.There is one place that can hold that many people. Even more¡But that place has a guardian.¡± -¡°Guardian?¡± -¡°Yes¡.a creature similar to a tiger but it has horns. It¡¯s very strong. A while ago, before the bandits there were a few adventurers that tried to hunt it down but they all failed.¡± -¡°Maybe they weren¡¯t that strong¡± -¡°They were all over rank C. The strongest was their leader, he was a rank B adventurer¡± -¡°So what is this place?¡± -¡°It was the castle of an old adventurer. One that reached rank A and since he was old he retired there. All the villages were part of a city around that castle. But about 20 years ago after the adventurer died, the creature came and claimed the castle. And the city became his hunting ground.¡± -¡°So everyone left?¡± -¡°Not immediately. Many adventurers tried to kill it but they all failed and then they stopped coming. So everyone left and they created small villages.¡± -¡°Where is this place.¡± -¡°Well¡ The city is at the other side of the mountains. All you have to do is follow the path that cuts through the mountain. After half a day you will reach a large stone arch. After going through it go for another day and you will reach the end of the path and the city. The castle is on the edge of the cliff. ¡° -¡°What cliff?¡± -¡°Well there are many legends about it¡but it is said that a god has created the rift to stop a war. On the other side of the rift there is another city but since the distance is too big they couldn¡¯t build a bridge and it takes to long to go around the rift. They say that it¡¯s so deep that you can¡¯t see the bottom of it.¡± -¡°Really?.....Interesting¡± < >>Next Chapter>> ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Next time there will be some action, and Paul will start to realize how strong he really is. Vol.2 Chapter 9- Doln Paul rested and the next day he wanted to craft some swords and daggers since the old ones were completely destroyed but then remembered the sword he created using aura. He tried to create them again and with ease two large swords appeared in his hand. They were like flames and their state kept going wild losing their shape. Paul then closed his eyes and pictured what he wanted the flames to look like in his mind. After a few hours of testing and trying different methods he finally could control them with ease. He could change their shape whenever he wanted. As soon as he reached a state where he could control their shape at will the aura didn¡¯t look like a flame anymore. It had a solid state and didn¡¯t lose its shape. Then for the next day he tried to concentrate more of his aura into the blades and tried to change its color. At the end of the day he succeeded in what he wanted. Now the blades were almost invisible. They were also sharper than any blade. The only downside was that it consumed mana, but that wasn¡¯t a problem for Paul since he had more then he needed. After finishing with his weapon he needed some good armor. Sadly in the village there wasn¡¯t any tailors and the only armor was an old soldier one. It looked uncomfortable so Paul didn¡¯t take it. Instead he wore simple clothes and no armor. After eating and sharing some of his food with others he went to bed. The next day, he left the village towards the castle. Since he was faster he reached the stone arch that the old man told him about in a few minutes. Then from there to the city it took him an hour. The city was very large had many buildings of many different shapes but they were all run down from the time and weather. The castle was as he heard on the edge of the cliff and was also in a similar shape. It had a large wall around it and a large gate. Still he didn¡¯t immediately entered the city and continued to train on his control. While training he saw that some of the bandits were living in the city and some in the castle. Only some bandits were entering the castle. It seems that they have ranks among them. After two days of training and watching the bandits he finally decided to head towards the castle. He tried to avoid the bandits but because he still couldn¡¯t control his strength as much as he wanted he destroyed the wall of a house causing the house to collapse. Multiple bandits came to check on the noise and saw Paul staring near the rubble. They all took started swinging their swords towards Paul but he avoided all of them. Feeling confident he kept avoiding them and considered the whole situation a chance to train. As he avoided the attacks he suddenly felt something on his back. As soon as he felt something on his back all the bandits stopped moving and jumped back. Paul looked back and saw a bandit with a broken sword in his hand. On the ground were pieces of a sword. ¡®Did he just try to stab me in the back? Wait¡.did that sword break? Is my skin that strong as well?¡¯ As he looked at the bandit and his broken sword he swathe bandit was pale as a sheet of paper and saying monster to Paul. The bandits tried to escape when they saw that they couldn¡¯t handle Paul. Sadly for them, for Paul it was like they were moving in slow motion. Paul created a sword from his aura and in a few seconds all the bandits were dead. Paul kept killing all the bandits in the city and absorbing their stuff and guild points. After clearing the city it was time for the castle. The gates were closed but for Paul that wasn¡¯t a problem. With one punch the castle door now had a hole in it. He entered and was greeted by the sounds of a bell coming from the castle and bandits all around the gate. Without any issues he killed all of them in a few moments. Then he headed inside the castle. As he went to what seemed like a throne room he saw a man standing on the throne. Next to it was a were 3 small tigers with horns in a small cage. They looked sick, hungry and one of them wasn¡¯t even alive. The man didn¡¯t get up and just asked. -¡°Who are you?¡± -¡°Nobody?¡± -¡°So nobody killed all my men, that I gathered?¡± -¡°Seems so¡¡± -¡°Do you know who I am?¡± As soon as he finished his sentence his head was slowly rolling on the ground with Paul next to him. He then looked at the small tigers. The two that were still alive were licking the dead one. It seems that he only recently died. As Paul reached towards them they retreated and ran to the back of the cage since that the furthest they could go. Paul then broke the cage releasing them. Then he took out some meat from his ring and gave it to them. Like they forgot about Paul they ran towards the meat and ate. Seems that the bandits fed them only enough to keep them alive. After finishing their meat they remembered Paul and ran away again. They couldn¡¯t run far since the doors were all closed but they were still afraid. Paul sat down on the throne to think about what to do next and as he did a window appeared in front of him. This city has no ruler. Do you wish to become the new ruler?
Paul accepted and then another window appeared. You became the ruler of a city. You can change its name. Do you wish to change it?
Paul nodded and then said. ¡°DOLN¡± You have a command crystal. To use it just place it anywhere in the city.
He looked carefully at the latest window since he didn¡¯t remember having one. He concentrated on the ring and saw that one item disappeared and another appeared. The box he received from Jonathan disappeared and a command crystal appeared. He took it out and It appeared in his hands. It looked like an egg. He placed it on the ground and then some tentacles made from earth appeared and raised it up, to his chest. The tentacles hardened. Paul put his hands on the crystal and in an instant he knew everything about the city. Every secret door, every small detail. He also found where the young men that the bandits took from the city. They were in a mine on the edge of the city. They were locked inside with some bandits. He figured that they could wait since they didn¡¯t hear the bell they definitely didn¡¯t hear anything else. He started to relocate the crystal and himself. He moved it downwards. As deep as he could. If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. Next he put in the room some light crystals and plants that create oxygen. He made a door that can only be opened from inside. Then he created a tunnel upwards. Then again a tunnel 3 meter wide for about 100 meters straight downwards. From there a tunnel straight for a long distance that was filled with water. Next he created an exit towards the cliff edge. When he reached the exit, everything was completely black. There was no light. Then from the exit he made some stairs on the edge that led back up to the castle. After applying all this. He suddenly found himself in the room he imagined. Next he created some traps, he placed some poisonous plants, he created a maze. In the end he made it so it¡¯s impossible to get to it from outside but easy to exit. He created a few fake rooms where there were fake crystals. He made the room where the real crystal was from a material strong enough that even his strength was useless. Next he started to work on the castle. He tried to continue but he needed more crystal shards. He took some out and kept going. Each time he ran out he took out some more and kept renovating. He renovated all the castle. He lifted the castle grounds and around the castle walls he created a small river filled with dangerous fish that were similar to piranhas. He then renovated the houses that were closest to the castle. Paul then made the roads from solid stone. Among the houses he created some trees, plants so that there wouldn¡¯t be so grey all around. He improved the defenses of the city by creating multiple defense towers all around the city. Then he created a city center. He made a large well in the center of it and on the edge he created a few larger buildings. A large inn, a guild testing facility, a library, a garrison building for the guards. At the entrance to the city he created a few buildings that were needed in every market district. Shops. He created everything he though there was needed in a city. There was only one way into the city and that was following the path. At the very edge of the city he created a wall with two large towers on both sides. He created also a tunnel for a few meters that had on the side windows from which the guards could shoot arrows from. He created about 3 tunnels until the arch. He created a few more buildings but they were all similar. He also created a park on one side that was filled with trees. He then put a few more trees and wells among the buildings. On the left side of the city he created a large field that had good soil for crops. Then next to the mine he created a large room into the mountain. The room ceiling was 6 meters high and it could hold all the livestock. Then he created a large wall with some gates around the city separating it from the park and fields, since anyone could go around the mountains and reach the city. He created a few towers along the wall. Most people just used the path Paul took since it was the shortest way. It would take 2-3 times longer to go around, and it was also dangerous. Feeling satisfied he applied everything and then he felt a small earthquake. He exited the crystal¡¯s room and in a few minutes he was back outside the castle. He looked around and saw that everything was as he imagined it. -¡°Amazing¡.I should probably be careful with who knows about the crystal¡± Then he went back to the throne room. The two tigers were still there playing with each other. Paul fed them again and then tried talking to them. As he did one of them seemed to understand him. He tilted his head as he looked at Paul. The one that seemed to understand was a white tiger hat had small back horns. Well they weren¡¯t horns, not yet anyway, they were more like small bumps. Then he told the tigers that he needs to leave but will return soon. He left them enough food to last them for a two days and then left. He went to the mines and killed all the bandits inside before they even realized what happened. The young men and women inside were all cheering when they exited the mines they were all dirty but they were all smiling. Paul told them to wait for him while their families arrive here and warned them not to go into the castle. Using his speed he reached the village in about two hours. He told them the news. -¡°The bandits are gone and the men and women are safe¡± -¡°Really? Where are they?¡± -¡°In the city¡± -¡°Why didn¡¯t they come with you?¡± -¡°Because I told them you were going there¡± -¡°No we are not¡our whole lives are here, in the village¡± -¡°Well then I suppose the next time bandits and creatures come, you can deal with them.¡± The old man looked down and then looked at the others -¡°Who wants to stay and risk the bandits returning can stay. Who wants to live in the city under my rule can come anytime they wish. There are many empty houses.¡± Some of them started packing and some didn¡¯t. His companions that followed him also headed towards the city. Paul didn¡¯t wait for everyone to decide and headed towards the other villages and let them know. In the end he went to all the villages and they all reacted mostly the same way. Some wanted to stay and some wanted to leave. Paul just told them the offer and left. It took him another two hours to return to the city. He found out that some of the people that were enslaved cleaned themselves up and started exploring the city. When Paul explained that some of them didn¡¯t want to come they all worried but decided to wait and see who is coming. When Paul entered the throne room he saw the white tiger whimper at the body of his brother. Paul realized that the other tiger was sick too. Paul then tried to ask the tiger what happened but since they couldn¡¯t communicate it just looked at Paul and then at the body of his brother. Paul then asked it if it wants to be his pet. The tiger looked confused again and then a window popped up. Smokey has become you pet.
He tried to see his new pets stats but couldn¡¯t. No matter what command he used he couldn¡¯t see it. As he left the throne room with his brothers in his hands he saw the Smokey was following him. He took the bodies to the rift edge and looked at Smokey. With a nod like he understood, Smokey let out a small roar, and Paul threw the bodies into the rift. For the next 2 days people kept coming into the city. They occupied some of the houses and started to rebuild. Paul continued to train on his control. Then one night some men approached Paul, some older than the others. -¡°Excuse us. Can we talk? < >>Next Chapter>> Vol.2 Chapter 10 - New City

Vol.2 Chapter 10- New City Paul looked at them and curious about what they wanted to talk nodded. -¡°We would like to help you with the city. We are all experienced in different areas and we¡¯d like to make this city the best there is.¡± -¡°What do you mean?¡± -¡°Well we figured that you don¡¯t have much experience ruling a city¡am I right?¡± -¡°Well¡yes¡± -¡°We can help¡all of us were the leaders or involved in the leadership for the villages. Also we talked among ourselves and each of us is has more knowledge on different areas. Me for example¡I have the most knowledge about how to improve the defenses of the city.¡± -¡°Really? And then what do I have to do?¡± -¡°You can ask us for advice, or you can tell us what you wish to do and we will do it.¡± -¡°I like this¡¡± -¡°Also after giving a position to someone you can invest the city money and give that person a budget to use on his area.¡± -¡°How would that work exactly?¡± The man really enjoyed being asked questions. The more questions he was asked the more energy he had. The other around him just smiled and listened. They knew him well. -¡°Let¡¯s say you give a budget to someone on an area. That person will use the money the best he can to improve his area. If you have something you would like to be done with that money just ask, or let the responsible do what he thinks is best.¡± -¡°That sounds reasonable¡.¡± -¡°You can also check the stats of a city , to see how your city does¡± As soon as he heard that cities also have stats he just said ¡°Show city stats¡± and a window popped up. It was as simple as his own stats. City Stats

He saw that all the stats were 0. After talking to all his advisors he knew what all the stats meant. They were pretty straight forward. They all meant what Paul thought. For a whole week, after talking to each of them individually he finally appointed them to their areas. He appointed Dodiloast to be his offense responsible, Gordian for his defense since they were all generals and twins. After had scars all over his arms and face and he lost an ear. Gordian he was more of a strategist. He never was in a fight but he did lead a few. Faber was appointed to sanitation and beauty since he was somewhat of a clean freak. He was considered weird but respected since his village was the prettiest and cleanest. Otho was responsible for security. He used to be a mercenary that was most often used to make distractions for others so that they could in cities so he knows all the tricks. He was also responsible for taxes. He agreed that for the first 3 months there would be no taxes. Teirdin is a man of culture. He was a librarian and has read all the books he could find. He knows everything about everything. The only problem is that he doesn¡¯t get along with others well and sometimes ignores others. He was appointed to Culture and Technology. And finally Glaice was appointed to the Mood department. He is responsible for making sure the citizens are happy and organizing events for them. Glaice is the heart of the party. He likes to have fun and most importantly he likes to help others. All these advisors were given rooms in the castle if they wish to use it. They were grateful for the honor to be able to influence the city directly. Paul didn¡¯t know them for very long but he trusted them. He then transferred some of his coin into the city¡¯s funds. He transferred 1 million golden coins. Then he started to give each area a budget. He started to prioritize about which area is more important. He didn¡¯t have anything specific in mind about what to do with the money so he left his advisors to decide. He gave the offense 50 000 gold, defense 100 000 gold. Next he gave the sanitation and beauty 20 000 gold and the security 50 000 gold. He gave 300 000 to culture and technology each, 10 000 to mood and 50 000 to trading. He left the rest of the gold coins there in case of emergencies. When the advisors heard and saw their budget they were all shocked. They started to think that this is all a dream. When they realized that this is reality they were all smiles and Paul heard them saying The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.-¡°This is more than we expected. We have to redo our plans. With this much we could become the most famous city.¡± People kept coming from the villages around and the city was now alive. There would be people walking, children smiling playing. Many people already opened up their own shops and started selling their items. The problem was that the city didn¡¯t have any traders from other cities so the economy was in danger. Not only the economy but the whole city was in danger since no one knew that the city existed. They only knew that there are ruins that have nothing special about them. -¡°I need to do something about this. But what¡.Oh I know¡± He touched his bracelet and contacted Nori. -¡°Hey, Nori. How are you?¡± Not long after she responded -¡°Paaul!!! Good, good. Busy with work. Nothing new¡± -¡°Really¡well I could use your help¡and you guilds if possible.¡± -¡°Of course¡but if you wish for my guild to help you need gold. I¡¯m sorry but that¡¯s how it is¡± -¡°No problem. Where are you?¡± -¡°In a city called Zrares. You?¡± -¡°I thought you were in the capital. Where is this city exactly?¡± -¡°Well¡I was sent out again as soon as I arrived. The city is¡¡.have you heard of the mountains where the rainbow clouds are?¡± -¡°Yes.¡± -¡°North of the mountains, you ride for a week on a horse and you arrive at a lake. Next to the lake there is the city.¡± -¡°I¡¯m pretty close. We will talk when I arrive there¡± -¡°Really? When will you arrive?¡± -¡°No sure¡I will find you when I do.¡± -¡°Ok¡¡± -¡°See you soon¡± -¡°I will be waiting¡± Paul then looked at the tiger and asked it if he wants to join him on a journey. The small tiger just jumped up on Paul¡¯s shoulders. It was small and light so it didn¡¯t bother him much. He then went to his advisors letting them know that he will be leaving for a while. Paul left them to work and headed to the city edge. He knew that there were a few cities around and decided to test his speed and see how fast he really is. He then held the tiger with one hand to make sure that he wont fall and jumped up as high as he could. He reached the clouds in an instant and could see around for a very long distance. He saw three cities that were around and two of them were north, one was west. When he started falling he started to panic a little since it was pretty high. As soon as he reached the ground, he created a small crater around him, but he wasn¡¯t hurt at all. Feeling the adrenaline rush trough him now he headed towards the city in the west. After a few minutes he arrived to the city. He didn¡¯t jump straight into the middle. After reaching a certain distance from the city he ran. It was still fast. He went into the city. Paul didn¡¯t care about the city¡¯s name and went straight to the shops. He went to the tailor and brought himself the best armor he could find. The armor didn¡¯t offer any protection but was resistant and looked cool. It was white with some blue and black streaks in it. Next he went to all the traders in the city and let them know of a good opportunity for trading in the city of Doln. The traders were all surprised that they didn¡¯t hear about the city before. They were all avoiding that are because of the bandits. Some didn¡¯t believe Paul at all, and some had doubts. No one really believed him and considered him a liar. He didn¡¯t stay much in the city. After spreading rumors about the city he left. Next he headed to the other two cities. This time he spread rumors of a city to some, rumors about a treasure to others and so on. He spread all kind of rumors and they all pointed towards his city. Paul was careful with how he spread the rumors since he didn¡¯t want an army to march to his city. He arrived at the edge of the lake Nori mentioned in three days since he spoke to her. The city was a bit weird looking from the distance. All the buildings were like a box. All the building were exactly the same. As Paul got closer he noticed the everybody was wearing the same type of clothes. The only difference was that some were wearing brown, some green and some white. As Paul got to the gates he was stopped. The guards searched him and then handed him some clothes. They were brown. He wasn¡¯t allowed into the city until he was dressed in the clothes he received. He saw that others people at the gates were in a similar situation. After dressing up in the clothes he was allowed to enter the city. Inside the city it was silent. They were all talking very quitely, everyone was walking around with their head down with no expression on their faces. Paul walked around for a few minutes. He quickly realized that the clothes color was some sort of ranking and brown was the lowest. Paul tried to explore the whole city but he wasn¡¯t allowed in some places because he was one of the brown ranks. < -------------------------------------------------------------- I am sorry to tell you that i will stop writing for a while again.
