As Marco ran outside it began, quick flashes rose from into the clouds covering the sky after a few seconds they stopped, after a minute, strange lights began to fall from the sky, it looked like snow but each flake was glowing a different color. As they reached the ground, one caught my attention, it was a very light colored aquamarine colored one which floated and landed on my chest before vanishing. You could be reading stolen content. Suddenly hundreds of multicolored holes open in the sky as everyone began to glow then collapse. As the same happen to me I found out why, after my body collapsed I began to float. Marco: WHAT THE HELL IS THIS'' I shout at the top of my lungs, as I looked, I saw I was semitransparent. When I look back I finally understood, my soul has been pulled out of my body, as I looked up I started floating up, looking at the holes in the sky I saw all were pitch black all but one which was just above me it was the same light aquamarine color as the snow flake that I noticed before. As I rose up I gained speed and everything became a blur as I was pulled into the hole which closed after I was pulled in. Re:Guardian Chapter 1 After being pulled into the hole i kept my eyes closed, but when i heard giggling i opened them. Marco: um hi I¡¯m Marco could you tell me where i am. Angela: you¡¯re in a temple, which is used to house souls like your that are traveling into a new world I¡¯m here to help you choose a new race that you will live as in my world. Suddenly the place was filled with thousands of people, the closest on were vary human like but with a few things different, as i looked, i saw many were like game races, elves, orcs, beast men, semi-human (semi is human with animal ears and tail, beast are humanoid animals), as i went further from the humans became monsters, first were goblins, gnomes and other small creatures, then came hobgoblin, ogre, drakes, lizard men, and last came legendary creature like dragons. Marco: hey Angela are they dragons as well. Angela: ancient dragons to be more precise, they are the highest form any dragon can achieve short of becoming a god. Marco: so i can become a dragon as well. Angela: yes but um follow me. She walked back to the center and stopped in front of a tiny lizard. Angela: this is a lizardling, it¡¯s the base form for every lizard and dragon kin creatures, for you to become a dragon you need luck and skill it¡¯s a difficult path. Marco: i don¡¯t mind, I''d like to start as this but could you make it aquamarine like this place, it¡¯s the color i noticed before coming here so i want to remember it. She gave me a worried smile. Marco: don¡¯t worry i can take care of myself. Angela: if you say so. After that she nodded, suddenly all the creatures vanished leaving only me, her and the tiny aquamarine lizard. Angela: good luck, god Kaiser will visit you after some time, you became his hero in this world so he is always watching, also I¡¯m sending you to the academy of dragon rider''s in the kingdom of Halen, there is no safer place for you to grow and learn. After that everything became dark. *** After i woke up again i found myself curled up in a very cramped place. Marco: since I¡¯m a lizard this is an egg, better get out quick don''t, want to suffocate. At that thought i began clawing at the shell as best i could with my limited space. After a few hits i was able to make as small hold which filled me with relief as i was already breathing heavily. After a few more hits i made a large enough hole that i could rest and regain a bit more energy before continuing. After some minutes i was finally free it was then that i saw it, surrounding me were a few hundred eggs which had small lizards like me crawling out. Suddenly the whole class laughed ???: guess this is the only thing you can¡¯t choose Alice ???: hey maybe we actually have a chance if it isn¡¯t attracted by the smell of money Alice: stop laughing'' she yelled almost on the verge of tears. I felt a little sorry for her but not much from the way others were talking she was some brat. Suddenly the lizard next to me approached her and rubbed its head on her leg. Suddenly a glowing circle appeared over its head and over Alice¡¯s hand, then it vanished. Everyone was quiet and for some reason the smell vanished so i could get up. Mrs. Mores: congratulations will be your partner now Alice Alice: ok at least i could get a partner. She picked up the little lizard then walked back to the crowd Mr. Mores: ok kids spread out once they realize what to do, they will search for their partners. After she gave the order the group that was around her circled the nest, there were hundreds of students, much more than the amount of eggs here. As i looked from one to the next, the scent coming from each was the same as the girl from before until i stopped at a very small plane girl she was near the back crouching on the floor holding her legs while looking over here. The smell from her vary sweet, it was alluring almost hypnotic, i stumbled a bit until i figured out how to walk then walked closer, the people in front of her got excited thinking it was them but as i passed below them they turned around disappointed. She didn¡¯t even notice me, her eyes looked empty as if something took her soul away and left an empty husk. ???: your joking is going for Melody, i wonder if it¡¯s ok. Mr. Mores: no i think its fine, the lizards follow a special scent that comes from there partner, like you saw with Alice, the smell it gets from anyone else almost hurts them. When i finally got next to her she still didn¡¯t notice, i thought a bit on what to do so i just pushed her on the leg but nothing, then i climbed her leg to be in her face but it felt like she was staring right through me which pissed me off, jumping back down i moved close to her leg then simply bit her leg which did the trick. Melody: what, what is this why did it bite. Mrs. Mores: it probably wanted attention I think it wants to be your partner. Melody: um is it alright for me to be it, isn¡¯t this the unique one everyone was just talking about. Mrs. Mores: yes it is, and we don¡¯t choose they choose us so you don¡¯t have much of a choice in the matter. As the teacher said that I started rubbing my head on her hand suddenly a surge of power came from both our bodies, I looked up and saw a circle like the one before over my head and on the hand I touched, I kept getting brighter so I closed my eyes as it was blinding. After the light died down, I felt myself being picked up then when I opened my eyes I saw that Melody had picked me up. Melody: thank you for choosing me I wonder what I should call you how¡¯s about Kira I tilt my head thinking a bit then nod, which makes her smile. Melody: so Mrs. Mores what do I do now that I am his partner Mrs. Mores: well for now head over and get something for him to eat he just hatched so he must be starving At her words my stomach growled, Melody and Mrs. Mores look at me then at each other before laughing Mr. Mores: go on you know what he wants so get it for him. At that Melody starts running and leaves the room before we leave I look back and see half a dozen lights shining from the crowd must have been the others, soon after we left half a dozen kids were right behind us. *** About 5 minutes after we left the nursery we were in a large cafeteria which had lots of food spread out. Inside I spotted the girl from before sitting in front of her partner as he filled himself. Melody: hello Alice¡¯ she said shyly, it was very cute though she would be much cuter if she fixed her hair a bit maybe a ponytail would help because she covers her face with her hair too much. Alice: hello did you get a partn... When she saw me, she froze up Melody: yes this is Kira, he spotted me in the back of the nursery and partnered with me, I never thought I would get a partner. Unexpectedly Alice showed a bright smile even her eyes were smiling Alice: wow this guy really is unique, the quiet girl with the aquamarine lizard for some reason it fits well, maybe it¡¯s because you¡¯re calm the color suits you well. ¡®Seems she doesn¡¯t hold anything against me rejecting her, I think she might have thought I would¡¯ After melody put me down I looked through the food in front of me then began eating some of the meat and some fruits that looked like apples and oranges. Alice: so what kind of dragon are you going to try to train him to be? Melody: I think a sea dragon that can survive well on land is good, but I wonder if that what he wants. As they turned to look at me they saw as I jumped from one table to the other, even the Alice¡¯s partner looked over. Alice: I don¡¯t think it¡¯s going to work out that way, from the looks of it he would turn into a flying dragon or land runner. I listen to them talk about me and what I would probably become but didn¡¯t give them much though all I cared about at the moment was filling myself with the food. Melody: wow he sure eats a lot I feel he already surpassed what your partner ate¡¯ she said as she looked at the many empty plates on the table. Alice: I think it¡¯s just like this today; they just hatched so they need energy. Melody: I guess you¡¯re right, well I hope I don¡¯t do anything bad while I train him. Alice: to me, I think he will be teaching you more then you teaching him. Kaiser: think of it as a teacher, I will watch over you and teach you about this world a bit, oh and sorry I wasn¡¯t there when you arrived I had something to take care of at the time Kira: I don¡¯t care for now just tell me how I can light a fire I¡¯m freezing here. Kaiser: oh sorry well have you looked around there are some fire crystals around there, let¡¯s see I think it¡¯s under the girls pillow, here¡¯s a suggestion eat a few, they will hurt since fire comes out but it will help in the long run. I pick up two and chow them suddenly my whole body heats up and when I open my mouth small burst of fire come out with lots of smoke, after the flames stop I stare angrily at the marbles when I hear the chime again, ¡°you have acquired [fire resistance] trait, [fire breath]¡± I look around again but not finding anyone I start thinking ¡®If I consider this like a game than those were skills I just got¡¯ I look to the fire place and run to the pile of wood and start rolling and pushing them into place. After a few minutes I was able to get a few in the fireplace. Kira: ¡®ok now how do I use it¡¯ I though ???: need some help,¡¯ a voice called Kira: that you Kaiser, you¡¯re a dragon right how do I shoot fire breath I got the skill Kaiser: oh well for a lizard it¡¯s more of a fire spit or fire ball I guess, if you need call out the name of the ability in your head should help since fire breath and spit is considered magic I do as he tells me and think ¡°Fire Breath¡± in my head then suddenly I feel my body get hot again then open my mouth and see a small fireball leave and hit the wood in the fire place setting them on fire. Melody: well he has the basic poison spit and weak poison resistance but he has fire breath and fire resistance as well, power jump I think he just got after jumping so much At her words Alice lost her temper and pulled out a few fire crystals then held it to her lizard Alice: here eat it I think he did the same At her order he picked up two and chowed and like me began to spit fire in pain, everyone watching looked in pity, after a bit he also began glowing and turning into a small dragon hatchling like me. Alice: I knew it so eating crystals has a chance of giving them abilities, great info and I even got him to evolve, this is going great. She then looked at me and not Melody. Alice: I won¡¯t loss especially to you after you rejected me as your owner At this point I was already annoyed. I joined then and started exercising my new muscles though I couldn¡¯t stay in the air long, I would just run back to a higher area and jump off, after a while I got used to it and I got a message ¡°Trait [Gliding] has evolved into [Flying] Trait¡¯ I smiled as flying got very easy after that and others could only watch as I was properly flying while others were stuck gliding. Re:Guardian Chapter 2 Teacher: alright first off I¡¯m Leon Scales, just a word of warning anyone that makes fun of my name is going to be in a world of pain. Everyone, including the lizards nodded. Leon: ok, today¡¯s lesson is only for the kids, lizards you can leave go do whatever, for the whole week as well, now leave. At his words he made sure to add some killing intent behind it to scare off the lizards that ran as quick as there short legs took them. I quickly took off with Relon behind me Kira: let¡¯s get out of here this guy is dangerous Relon: don¡¯t have to tell me We flew out the window, last thing we saw were the gliders jumping on the window and following us. When I looked back they were there trying to fly, the three were getting the hang of it as they were gaining altitude and speed but they flew while swinging there front legs as if it was part of the wings to get more power in it. ''They will definitely evolve differently'' and just as I thought that all three began glowing, as they flew there wings and front leg joined into a single limb and it wings grew longer the neck stretched a bit, becoming dragon like. As soon as they realized the change they began flapping a bit faster, to my surprise they were very fast. We quickly increased out speed and started changing things in our flying form to increase speed, polishing our form. The result, we quickly caught up to their speed, which surprised them. After a bit of flying we all started to breathe more intensely it was when I saw the river next to the school. Kira: let¡¯s go I said and pointed at the river, everyone welcomed he idea and flew over. As we approached the water¡¯s edge I was cautious of anything in and around the water, making a few circles to examine the area before landing drinking my fill. To summarize I started swimming very fast and with a few flaps of my wing I could catch them before they noticed because I was always in stealth mode while underwater. After about an hour we had a pile of about thirty various fish on the lake side. Then we put the fish next to the fire for a bit then started chowing down. Ryuu: this is nice; I didn¡¯t think we could do so many things with our bodies being made for flying. Relon: Dragons are kings of the beasts no matter which terrains, it just depends on each person¡¯s own dedication when they are growing to learn and build their strength. Levi: well even if we knew that we have Kira to thank because he thought up many things for us. "Acquired leadership +3, charisma +3" I look up to see that the sun was nearing its peak which meant that it was almost noon Kira: we should head back soon; I don¡¯t know how long those classes are but don¡¯t want to anger the teacher. Melody stayed there looking at Kira and Relon as they let out a few growls before leaving through the window followed by the other gliders Melody: how lucky, they get to relax but we are stuck here. Alice: relax, ya right, I¡¯m curtain that just from Mr. Scales glare they knew that if they didn¡¯t grow very fast today, they would learn what hell on earth was like. As she said that melody finally noticed how many were jumping as they left, ''so they those jumping are trying to get wings, I guess it helps a lot having them. Leon: ok kids come up here and get these book, the first one details methods in raising dragons of all types, the second book is a magic book that will teach both you and your partner magic, depending the magic learned it could affect his evolution path. After that everyone went and picked one of each and returned to their seats. Leon: Now then let¡¯s get on with class. The class quickly turned practical as it was magic class, they went over all the magic systems which were fire, water, wind, earth, light and dark, everyone was told to perform the most basic skill of each and determine their strengths and weakness. Melody: did you go to the river you smell like fish, we need to clean you later I just nod then turn my attention to the book in front of her, it was about the water magic, the most basic skill, as I read the page I started to move the magic in my body and like my fire breath I let it out from my mouth, but what came out was a ball of water which traveled very fast until it hit the wall. I regained my scenes and carefully enter the warm water; I went swimming a bit until I heard Melody call me. When I got over she had a bottle in her hand, most likely shampoo or something. I landed outside and waited until she exited before we went to eat, which was rushed because of the bath, then headed to a track field behind the school, the whole class was there. Almost all the lizards had changed one way or another, some now stood on two legs instead of four, some grew bigger and looked like they were built to run and swim but of them only me, Relon, Ryuu, Levi and Vent were flyers. After she said that, she split us into groups with us five being in a group that will fly instead of run. It was a quick one lap race but it was about five minutes each because of the size of the field Kira: hey any of you know wind magic Ryuu: I do, after I saw you do it I tried as well it was easy. I looked at the other three but they shook their heads Kira: ok let me teach you, I thought of a way to make our race really fun but you need wind magic. For the next two hours while the others raced I taught them how to control wind magic then told them my idea to which they laughed at in anticipation. On our turn we lined up on the starting line, all five were grinning in anticipation and none of us could stay still even as we slowly gather mana in our wings. Then the teacher came up. Teacher: you¡¯re to fly two times over the track field so we can get a measure of you speed. We just stood there ready not even blinking Teacher: ok are you ready'' she and lifted her hand up'' ready, set'' just as she started to say go her arm came down and our wings at the same time. GO! ''BOOM!!!'' Re:Guardian Chapter 3 GO! ''I barely heard her say that, I only followed her arm as soon as my wing completely lowered I lost the feeling of the ground beneath my feet. All I heard was a ''Thump'' and the rush of the wind. With each flap there was always a low thump following. As we reached the first corner of the track we needed to extend our path to be able to make the turn but once we were back on the long straight part, it was like energy surged in my body and we continued, one, two, three flaps on the third we had already reached the other side and were making a turn wide again. After the first lap it felt like the wind began cutting our scales, in practice we reached this point but could never think of a way until the race before us. All it took was covering our body in a coat of our mana it would also cause us to pass easier through the air, as a result. BOOM! After the first few flaps with the cover we easily reach double our speed, though it only lasted about a seconds before we slowed down to turn again. After crossing the finish line, all five split in different directions so that we could loss speed without colliding, it took a minute to do drop down our speed, then flying to the starting line again. As we landed we saw everyone was speechless, all they did was follow us with their eyes. It was Angela who broke the silence as she stormed over. Angela: what do you five think you¡¯re doing Ryuu: well we were racing Angela: well yes but how did you reach those speeds, I¡¯ve never seen any hatchling reach speeds like that, only a few dragons should be able to do that Kira: really but it¡¯s so easy to achieve doesn¡¯t everyone know wind magic Angela: what of course almost everyone knows wind magic Levi: so everyone can do this, we used wind magic and launched it from our wings to make us fly fast, then made a cover out of mana to protect ourselves from the wind. Angela was speechless at how the five hatchlings were talking about advanced level techniques as if it was as basic magic. Fox girl: how did you do that, man I wish they could talk in human language, it will be few months before that happens Alice: but I¡¯m wondering, when did all of them learn wind magic, I know about Kira but the others, could he have taught them. Wolf girl: maybe, since they are still young it¡¯s hard to know but to me Kira seems impulsive, if I had to guess its possible he taught them magic just to make the race interesting. Our partners start walking towards the school but it was easy to see fear on their faces. Kira: wonder why they are so scared, are the chairmen that scary. Relon: I heard from Alice, it seems all five chairmen are famous dragon riders as well as the founders of this place, they are supposed to be super powerful since they have lived a long time Ryuu: then we don¡¯t have to worry; if they are the founders then they don¡¯t have a point in hurting us since this school is built around training dragons and lizards, also they are probably afraid because of respect. Levi: I would be as well if I was in front of their partners. As we talked we followed our partners in the air until we entered the school. *** As we walk through the hall and got closer to the chairmen¡¯s office the air began to feel heavy. Even the five of us were starting to get that feeling and it only got worst. When we reached the door it felt like we were submerged in the sea and were getting crushed by the pressure and it was even difficult to breathe. As soon as Alice knocked on the door the pressure weakened for a moment before Angela open the door and like opening a flood gate, the rush swept us away, Levi and Vent completely passed out as did Luis and Nika. Angela: oh my, you five stop releasing so much killing intent, no wonder it took so long for them to get here. She was shouting at someone but I could barely hear as I was fainting as well when all the pressure suddenly vanished and I remembered to breathe. It took a few minutes but after we were up again we walked in but unlike before, all ten of us were completely cowering in fear as we entered to see five men sitting and to add more fear to the already fearful kids, five huge dragons lay behind the men. Strangely enough, the dragons species were exactly like our, in the back two very large dragons, one emerald and the other sapphire, while to the sides three wyverns, two orange and one light green. Just then the man sitting in front of the emerald dragon stood up. Andrew: as for wyverns, you might have guessed but they didn¡¯t learn fire breathe before evolving, the way to become one is to learn flying without becoming a dragon, but to get the force needed they moved their arms to add that force resulting in them fusing, also though a different kind of dragon they are still consider dragons and one of the effects both give is that they expand the lifespan of their partners. Suddenly Melody raised her hand Melody: um if they extend our lifespan then then how old are all of you? None of you seem to look more then your late twenties. As she ask, all five as well as Angela started laughing. David: well now, this is the first time someone has just went and asked directly, also thanks for the compliment young lady, well we are 112 years old, our dragons are 100 since we were 12 when they hatched, also unlike you we found our partners in the wild near our home village, we founded this school when Angela''s partner Kaiser became the dragon god, the day he became god he told us to make this academy, that was about forty years ago he did the same in over fifty countries because the lizard and dragon creatures were near extinction, after the schools were established he created the original batch of eggs and told us to cultivate them for future generations. Vincent: after a few years that the academies started training, several kinds of tournament started and the top most pairs of each kind of creature evolved from lizardling, from every academy participate, these students are chosen on the second day because that is the time all the lizards to evolve and before you ask no they don¡¯t change after their first evolution. ''How the hell did he just jump so high'' I though as he landed on the dragons shoulder then walked over in between its wings onto the back. David: you can leave now, head to the Florian Mountains that should be an appropriate hunting ground to train these two. As he said that he lifted his hand and the ceiling vanished and with a quick flap of its wing we rushed into the air. *** After leaving the school, we rose in the air at an alarming speed before leveling out above the clouds, the sudden rise left me dizzy but that was more because of the speed then the thinner air up hear. After David¡¯s partner leveled its body he put us down. David: now begins your first lesson you need to learn how to stand on a dragon midflight without falling. Melody: how can I do that, I thought dragon riders strapped to a saddle or something David: we aren¡¯t talking about a horse here; properly riding a dragon that is fighting you will need to use mana from the air around you or qi from inside of you, to stick onto the dragon¡¯s body. As I listen I get a general image of it, ''isn¡¯t it just like the mana cover I used for flying fast'' I try covering just my feet with it then carefully walk off Melody''s lap, to my surprise I stick to the dragons body, which to my surprise has a mana cover over its body. David: I see your partner figured it out already, Melody can you gather mana around your body, dragons use a type of magic called [Aura], it covers their bodies so they can safely fly at high speeds like you partners race before, all five were protecting their bodies with it. Melody: I¡¯ll try; I learned how to gather mana during morning class so I could cast basic spells. As she starts to gather more and more mana her body begins to glow ''She is gathering too much'' I though. I walk over the David and poke his leg. David: don¡¯t worry for a half-elf like her this isn¡¯t much, also humanoids like us need more mana to do things like make aura. ''Wait half-elf what¡¯s he talking about I thought she was human, maybe that¡¯s why she dresses so plainly and covers her face'' As she gathers more and more mana her hair begins to raise up and that¡¯s when I confirm what he said, her ears though human sized were pointy, I saw Luis before his were pointy and long, so a half elf must have small point ones. ¡®I didn¡¯t notice in the bath either how did she hide it¡¯ David: that¡¯s good; now concentrate the mana around your skin. As he instructed she does so, as I watch I begin to see a glowing aura around her, but not just her one began to appear on David. Acquired trait [Mana Detection] After that voice said that the whole dragon began glowing, as I look around at its wings an even larger wing surrounded it. ''So this is an aura'' when I look at my body I see a small aura around my own body, ''so this isn¡¯t something I activate is it always active'' David: good now relax a bit but keep the aura up then try moving around, you shouldn¡¯t get blown away or fall. She gets up slowly but unlike how it should be she stays firm in where she was standing then walks around. David: good now for most of the training you will keep it up at all times until it becomes natural. Melody: ok I¡¯ll do it. David: great now test how strong it is'' he said grinning I felt something bad was going to happen so I cover myself with a stronger aura then hold onto Melody. David: Goliath, go faster. With the order the wing beats started going faster, after half an hour; Melody crouched and placed her hands on its body so as not to get thrown off . David: not bad half an hour for your first time is an impressive result, slow down a bit, also are we there yet. Goliath: yes we will be over the planes next to the forest in a minute She had a low but feminine voice, but it held authority in its word. Soon she descended and landed in a grassy plain about fifty meters from a forest. David: ok Kira you fly with Goliath, you¡¯re her disciple now, please give her proper respect. Re:Guardian Chapter 4 After we had landed, Melody and David watched as Goliath flew away with Kira struggling against the wind she made. David: don¡¯t worry Melody, she will only train him but if anything out of his strength appears she will defend him with her life. Melody: I know she has a very motherly feel about her.'' As he looked at her, David''s only thoughts were, ''how am I going to make her get over that incidents, if she isn¡¯t willing to let it go, training her magic abilities will be hard'' He thought about what happened a week before the egg hatching. In the town of Bowels, Melody''s home town, there was a magic show that attracted a lot of attention, most of the time the magicians discreetly explained how to do the magic spells but adults didn¡¯t think much but sometimes kids would listen and learn it, Melody was one and the magic she did is simply gather mana in a ball but because she is part elf she possesses more magic giving her more control if trained but she hadn¡¯t received any, so she just gathers more and more until it began to go out of control. Most of the magicians from the show noticed the it and started panicking and made barriers to protect the people around them but even then the area was still scorched from the magic explosion as if a fire happened, part of the crowd had been severely injured and only Melody was unscathed, this lead her to be criticized and almost lead to her being killed, if it wasn¡¯t for the scouts the academies send out to find talents, they saved her but she was deeply depressed and fearful of lots of things as were the people around her of her. Rumors soon spread through the kingdoms about half elves destructive magic abilities after a week there were many who were exiled or killed for fear of their potential. For her it wasn¡¯t until Kira bit her that she snapped out of her depressive state she had been in for the whole week because of the other students. David just looked at the girl as he wondered what method to train her in magical arts. David: ''for now let¡¯s make a camp here, I need to have her train her physical strength first'' thinking that he pulled a small bag. David: Melody, here this is for you'' he said handing her the bag. After she took it she looked surprised. Melody: what is this I can feel a lot of mana in here. David: that¡¯s a magic bag I made for training, inside are some tools, the first part of training will be to make a camp, a small house will do so please on to the forest and cut down a few trees, you don¡¯t need to drag them I¡¯ll do that. She looks worried but walked towards the forest, then opening the bad and sticking her hand it she was surprised when he pulled out an axe as long as he arm Melody: h-how does something like this fit in here Her face clearly showed curiosity and a hint of fear. When she reached the forest, she choose a somewhat thin tree near the edge the forest and began chopping, after ten minutes of chopping she had just scratched the bark off the tree but she was sweating like crazy. Melody: what¡¯s up with this tree, is it made of iron David: like I though these are too hard for you'' David said appearing out of nowhere, ¡®ok first lesson this will help in many other tasks, first make a very strong mana aura around your axe, if you don¡¯t you¡¯ll never cut the tree with your strength. She looked down and looked like she was about to cry. Melody: I guess I won¡¯t be able to do it after all'' she said as tears began to fall. David: I guess I have no choices, Melody hand me your bag, keep the axe. After she gave it back to him he turns back with a serious look on his face. David: in hear was a bit of food that would last about a week, but since I¡¯m forced into this I have no choice, until you cut down this tree properly; I won¡¯t give you any food. She looked shocked at the news which made the tears stop. Melody: how will I survive then? David: I¡¯m not so much a monster to let you starve so I¡¯ll give you food at noon if you want to eat properly learn quickly or you''ll just be looked at as a freak with too much magic potential and no control everyone sees half elves as. As soon as he said freak Melody slumped and began giving off a dangerous killing intent. Melody: ........eak'' she muttered something almost inaudible. David: what was that? She looked up with a dangerous light in her eyes Melody: I SAID DONT CALL ME A FREAK'' she shouted then as if the whole world froze the mana in the air began to rush around Melody then into the axe, after a few seconds the mana became visible to the naked eye after so much condensed onto the axe making it look like a sword. David: oh, I guess your finally getting it'' he said pulling his sword out, ''but if you want me to take it back then come at me and make me. As he said that a second vortex of mana rushed into him and then his sword becoming just like Melody''s. As she watch she held her axe up over her as more mana condensed as did David. After a few second they both brought there weapons down. *** After leaving Melody with David, I flew after Goliath, well tried, whenever I got to close the wind made my her wings would make me lose balance while if I was too far she would increase her speed, truthfully I was getting pissed she was completely toying with me and it was getting on my nerves. Every few minutes she would lift her head and look back to see how I was doing, only to grin at my misfortune. After a bit an idea came to mind, I thought of catching her in one burst and stick onto her back like before. I began gathering mana in my wings keeping a safe distance so the wind doesn¡¯t distract me. As soon as I gathered enough I flew forward, all I heard at first was a thump from my wings. BOOM! Out of nowhere a shockwave hit my from the front throwing me very far in the opposite direction I was going. When I finally regain my balance I saw Goliath she was very far but she had stopped in midair and was looking back Goliath: if you think a cheap trick like that will get me, think again little lizard. Instantly I lost myself I¡¯m my rage and like a little kid having a temper tantrum I roared and flared around for a few seconds before I turn my rage to her. Kira: ill make you talk those words back you old hag. Without thinking I reach out to as much mana from the air and covered my body and wings. Kira: get ready Even from far away I could see her smiling then I heard her roar. Goliath: bring it on little lizard. That was the last thing I heard before flying a full speed towards her. *** Back in the forest, about ten minutes had passed since David made her angry, the area they had begun to fight was completely destroyed, and all the trees within a fifteen meter radius had been cleanly cut by one of them during the fight. After ten minutes Melody was already on her knees gasping for breath. David: wow so strong for such a young lady, I can¡¯t believe I needed to use 5% of my total power to fight back'', he said both playing but impressed. ''Alright lets finish this in the next attack'' I quickly darted at the remaining swarm and shot them with weak fire breaths, after some time of agitating them they were all back in one main wave flying after me, as I flew away I kept gathering mana, separated the two spells then as they fused I turned and blasted them with another [Dragons Breath] but this time I caught them all. I stayed floating there and watched them as they gave death cries before gravity took hold of them, and then I headed to my newly claimed cave. As soon as I landed Goliath appeared. Goliath: not bad, of this year¡¯s group you definitely have one of the strongest breath attacks; train it though the more control the better. Kira: yes master, is their going to be anything else today. Goliath: no today you¡¯re free to do as you like. I nodded the walked inside, I quickly sensed the some bats and made sure to burn them, made a nice food stock so I at least know I won¡¯t starve, during the time I was cleaning out the cave I also gained [Night Vison] because my eyes had to get used to the sudden darkness after my breath attacks, now I can see in the cave as if it was lit up. When I reached the end of the cave I used my breath to widen it until a large chamber was made, ¡®wow just like Goliath said the tree doesn¡¯t catch fire but still turns to ash when hit with fire quite convenient¡¯, then I stacked all the bats I had roasted in one corner then went to sleep. The next morning I woke up to the roaring of dragons coming from outside, even with how far in I am I still hear it. ¡®Damn what¡¯s with all the roaring¡¯ I complained getting up and snacking on a few bats before going out. As I walked through the tunnel I sensed someone land at my caves entrance, it was small about my size, as I continued walking I kept track as he entered on his guard. Dragon: oh it¡¯s taken already, I didn¡¯t know, I just arrived here and was instructed to find a cave to live in. Kira: well try a different one and be careful they are filled with animals. At that he flew out of my cave but I continued walking until I reached the entrance. Outside unlike yesterday was filled with hundreds of dragon¡¯s hatchlings of my own size; every now and then I would see one surrounded by group of animals which were the inhabitants of the caves. He dedicated the morning to training her how to properly fire the bow then showed how to skin an animal from some that were left as well as some tracking tips. She left to hunt afternoon after eating, it didn¡¯t take long before she found some tracks which she followed. She followed them for about five minutes before reaching a river, in the river was a large brown bear. She paled a bit but didn¡¯t back off. ¡®I¡¯m a dragon trainer now, I can¡¯t be dependent on Kira to get my own food, but how will I take it down¡¯ she stayed crouched then pulled her bow and an arrow, ¡®I wonder if this will work it might agitate him, I should be careful so let make this stronger¡¯ As she though a bit she nocked the arrow on the string then began pouring mana around the arrow then pulling it like she was taught, she aimed while focusing the mana around the shaft and making a sharp blade around the tip then let it loose. When it stood on its hind legs she let loose the second arrow which hit next the arm and traveled through the chest damaging his organs. After the second arrow he stood there for a few seconds before falling lifeless. Melody: what, was it supposed to be this easy, I thought I would be attacked as soon as the arrow hit, maybe it was the mana that did more damage, well I did it lets get that fur. She ran over with her sword drawn being cautious but when she confirmed it was dead she pulled the dagger and began the butchering process, she removed the hide first then separated a large amount of the meat as well as the claws and teeth, storing it then washed the blood off before hiding in the bushes and waited. After a few hours she had been able to hunt down another bear and four wolves before heading back. Melody: hey David I did it, I was able to catch some animals her look. She pulled out the fur of the animals she had skinned. David had to hide his surprise when he saw bear hide in the mix and not a scratch on the girl. David: melody how did you hunt the bear and wolves Melody: well at first I found the first bear and killed it after shooting it with arrows covered in mana, after that I skinned it took lots of its meat then left the rest so it attracted the other animals then repeated the same thing. She was wearing a big smile on her face at her accomplishment. ¡®I think I should give her a reward not only for hunting but it seems she started moving on from her trauma after our little game¡¯ He took the fur she had brought then told her to train with her sword. He walked over to the wood and took some logs then began carving. After an hour he had made a frame for a bed then took it inside her house and set it in her room. He then cleaned all the fur of blood and closed any holes that were on it and finally put them on the bed frame. When he finished the sun was starting to set so he made food, then went to sleep. In the morning she was in a much better mood then the previous day since she had a good night sleep. David: ok now that you¡¯ve had a taste of hunting as well as used magic while hunting we will start with intense sword training because the next time you hunt you won¡¯t have the bow with you. After a minute the fog dispersed, from the fog a small boy looking at least 7 years old appeared. Most of the buildings were almost complete because of David¡¯s effort in setting up the framework for all the buildings during the first week before the settlers arrived, when they arrived they were astonished to find a half built village in the spot. At the end of the second week she got curious about how strong she was, she had checked before but all her stats two weeks before were below 10 but then she saw her new abilities she was stunned.

In the morning I continued I smashed a few rocks and made smaller rocks and began infusing it and gained the [Mana Infusion] skill by doing it, with each rock I place it in place and make a foundation and begin raising it, making sure to add dirt and other stuff to hold it up as instructed, it took the half a day to make the forge until it linked to the hole were the smoke leaves. When I was done I then read the guide books and found a few recipes that would let me make some stone armor, though crude it¡¯s better than nothing. I quickly threw some rocks inside and using my breath I begin melting it, it took a few minutes before they began to soften and I was already tired, ¡®what this is more taxing then I thought, maybe I need to focus more my breath¡¯ I though then with a more focused flame I continue and it worked well the rocks melted on the second breath and became vary moldable. I quickly looked at the book and saw I needed to use magic to mold it then I looked at the model for the armor then I began. Well to make things short I failed miserably the first five times I tried, the first three times I couldn¡¯t even control the molten rock with magic, on the forth I was able but it burn my hand finally on the fifth time I was able to protect my hand while holding a ball of molten rock. I worked quick to get it into shape like a shield, that took several try¡¯s before I thought of making pieces instead of the whole thing at once, this time it worked well I made it with six pieces then I connected them with to form the first armor scale for my chest. During the process I also gain [Dragon Blacksmith] trait, it helped a lot with the magic part of the process since it became easier to manipulate the magic for this task. When I finished it was still early and the sun hadn¡¯t set yet so I went to hunt since I was running low on food. After I left my cave I was quickly surrounded by dragons, but unlike the normal dragons I had seen until now these were pure black and I didn¡¯t see any signs of the dragon¡¯s intelligence all I saw were beasts. I kept my eyes on the largest as it seemed to be the leader but because of my presence detection I could tell there are about 10 other dragons around me. I could see they were hungry and I knew they wanted me as the main course. While I looked at them I was remained of one time Goliaths told me about a super-fast dragon that moved faster than the wind that is seemed like the wind itself attacked his enemy¡¯s. I began picturing how he would have done it, since I have [Wind Acceleration] I could do that but only forward the would chase me if I did that, so instead of just my wings I covered my whole body with air magic, this caused a current of air to begin forming around me. They were all on guard as they saw me doing something, the current got stronger and when I felt it was enough I launched myself. Just like [Wind Acceleration] there was a loud boom that exploded as the current of wind spread out at the same instant I vanished, as the wind spread, deep claw marks appeared all over each of their bodies, in a few seconds the wind stopped and I appeared outside the circle of black dragons, they stayed floating in the air for less than a second before they all fell lifeless. Kira: that was good I got rid of 10 opponents easily and I figured out the trick to a skill from a powerful dragon, today only gets better¡¯ I said as I look back at the dragons falling.

Kira: yes As soon the screen vanishes my body begins giving of a light glow, I look down and back to see my body changing bit by bit. When I looked down at my neck and chest area, I saw the numerous scales on my body grow and begin fusing one layer on top of another, not just my chest but also on my arms, leg and tail it was the same, my scales were starting to look like the scale armor I saw I the blacksmith book. I also felt like muscles were getting denser, it wasn¡¯t grown larger but stronger, on my head I could feel my two horns grow longer and a new ones appeared on longer in the center. After a minute I stopped glowing, I looked at myself quickly; if I had to compare myself to a human I would look like a fully armored knight. I quickly open my stats to see if anything changed; as I looked through them I saw most stat raised about 5% from before. I gained new traits, one was obvious [Guardians Natural Scale Armor], I guess I¡¯ll have to worry less about armor now, the others were [Mirage Cyclone] and [Chaos Detection]. The cyclone I understand but it¡¯s the one I didn¡¯t so I activated just see, to my surprise I felt hundreds of creatures covered in grotesque magic, just feeling that filled me with rage for some reason then I felt ten on the ground were the dragons I killed were. Kira: I see so they¡¯re something like Chaos dragons, so since I killed them that means I¡¯m now some kind of knight dragon'' I smile at the thought of killing all these pests flying around. I then activate my presence detection along with the chaos one and found a group circling a few normal dragons and quickly fly there . As I approached I begin preparing [Mirage Cyclone], as I finish preparing a second group was already following me. I fly faster and as soon as both groups were within range of my attack I unleashed it. To put it lightly it was a one sided massacre, it was just as quick as the first time I did the attack even though the number was three times larger Kira: hehe I can get used to this, I can¡¯t wait to clean this place up. As the dragons fell I just grinned at their lifeless corpses. I quickly fly down and unleash a [Dragon Breath] and incinerate the corpses just to be safe nothing happens like normal animals being infected as well, I do the same to the ones I killed before. As I burn the bodies I saw the dragons I saved fly off and enter their caves. Kira: guess they are to scared of these chaos dragons now'' I thought while grinning, ''these chaos dragons will make great punching bags for me to train on. As I fly I thought of new possible spells and combinations, to test on them. *** After David had left Melody was still seething with anger, so to calm down she decided to work her anger out doing something which ended with her running full speed to the blacksmith and hammering away her anger to the surprise of the smith. After an hour she had made a few dozen tools from hoes and sickles to shove and swords before she calmed down because she was getting hungry. Smith: here this is for the help you sure took a load off my back but what got you so fired up like that your normally so calm. She took the plate of food and while eating told him about what David had done, which quickly pissed him just as much as it did Melody. Smith: hehe so that bastard wants you to self-train, lazy bastard, I''ll show him the mistakes of leaving you in a village full of talents like this one'' he said with a menacing grin on his face then walked out after telling her to stay put. After a little while he returned with the hunter and swordsmen instructor from the training hall as well as a few craftsmen she trained with, they all had a somewhat intimidating feel about them. Smith: well then melody, we''ve talked a bit and decided we will all give more advanced training in all our crafts, since that lazy bastard left without doing his job we will do it for him. She instantly felt a chill run down her spine. Melody: what did I get myself into'' was her only thought before she was taken to start her training *** A few miles from where Kira is currently killing the chaos dragons, a small group was also fighting; a single dragon and three wyverns were having difficulties fighting a group of chaos dragons surrounding them. As they flew away they let out fire and large gusts of wind to try and kill them they only succeed in annoying their enemies. Without knowing, they were driven far from their caves and unknowingly near Kira''s. It was then that they saw it, a large gust of wind passed them and circled the chaos dragons and began killing them, claw marks appeared all over their neck and face. When the gust of wind finally settled, all they saw was falling corpses and far ahead of them an armored aquamarine dragon. Dragon: that color, is that Kira. As he said that I turned around. Kira: do I know you Dragon: hey that¡¯s mean it¡¯s us Relon, Ryuu, Levi and Vent. I approached smiling to see my friends. Kira: its great to see you guys again, by any chance do any of you know why there are so many chaos dragons. Ryuu: I think I do, anyway is your cave near here, we''ve been running away for a long time, we''re exhausted. I nodded then led them to my cave. Once inside I let them chow down on the remaining food I had, since had no problem hunting with those things outside. After they ate the wyverns grouped together and fell asleep while I talked with Relon. Kira: so any idea why they are appearing around here. Relon: I heard from my master that dragons evolve into Chaos dragons if they commit grave sins though I don¡¯t know which. Kira: if I had to guess killing another dragon is a good one, if not cannibalism fits just as well. Relon: I guess both fit to well I think, so tell me what¡¯s with the new look did you evolve. I nodded then told him about my training and what happened the last few days as well as my new race. After a while he went to sleep while I left and went hunting. It was quite a success, since a large area around my cave was clean of chaos dragons I was finally able to hunt the surrounding animals, I even noticed other dragons leave their caves after I exited, seems they find it safe with me around, I would feel the same if I saw a single dragon massacre thirty or more that they couldn¡¯t even scratch. After hunting, I returned with my caught some birds that were living in the nearby caves, as I entered my cave I noticed all dragons retreat as well. Kira: so they really are depending on for safety, maybe I should train them'' I though as I dragged my catch to the back of the cave. The others were still sleeping so I just quickly ate a bit then went to sleep with them. *** In Melody''s village her teachers had taken her to train in an even more intense Spartan training regimen, the first two days they made her do ridiculous tasks like making fifty daggers in two hours or the same number but for clothes, to cope with this she strengthened her body with mana, which created the [Mana Strengthening] skill, depending the body part she would be stronger or faster. On the third day, her teachers were surprised by the sudden increase in speed and strength until she explained her new skill which made her teachers strap on a third rings David left behind which increased gravity to 65% more than normal. This made her move very slowly because she needs a lot of mana to even stand up. Melody: man why are all my teachers demons'' she cried out when she got home with barely any strength left in her body. As quickly as possible she ate some food she got from her teachers then went to sleep. In the morning her combat instructors, both of them, woke her and began combat training, swords training was focused on strength and skill while hunting was speed, all the while Melody was barely given a chance to complain about the pain and fatigue she was feeling, though one thing that lifted her spirits a bit is that she wasn¡¯t the only one suffering, the other three hunters were suffering the same training regime she was. The first week Melody was put through hell and each day they always added more rings so she was forced to constant increase the amount of mana to compensate her growing weight but it didn¡¯t help much since they always added enough rings to make her to heavy even with the strengthening. Starting on the second week, the combat instructors took all four of the students deep into the forest where the more dangerous magical beasts lived. Hunting instructor: ok, you next piece of training will be magical beast subjugation, these creatures are animals who have lived in mana rich areas, the mana causes them to undergo evolution that makes them turns into a much stronger type of animal, your training is killing a few. Hunter 1: sir, isn¡¯t this too dangerous for us, we are still weak. Sword instructor: none sense, all of you can kill at least a weak on, melody should be able to kill a medium sized one but that would be dangerous since they live in packs, now off you go, also don¡¯t split up it would only lower your chances of surviving. After receiving their advice, we leave to hunt Melody quickly begin scanning for signs of life as well as mana while implementing her [Tracking] skill to its fullest. After half an hour she found the tracks. It was a paw was at least half a meter wide and long and looked like a bears paw, Melody paled thinking about the size, if the paw was half a meter wide and long then the animal itself was at least 4-7 meters tall if not taller. Hunter 3: what the hell is this are we monster hunting this is crazy. Hunter 1: I agree let¡¯s not fight something like this. Melody: stop whining, if we don¡¯t kill at least one of these we get another week of hell training so if you want to return you¡¯re free to go I¡¯ll kill this thing by myself. She started walking in the direction the footprint indicated. Hunter 2: I¡¯m going I think the instructors are scarier than any animal'' she said and ran after Melody The other two looked at the two girls leaving Hunter 1: no way in hell am I going there yet, I would rather train more and be ready then die early. Hunter 3: same here lets go back its safer training more than fighting. The two quickly turned tail and ran back to the camp. The two girls quietly follow the tracks, as they follow they find claw marks and broken trees. Hunter: looks like we are getting close, wonder what type of creature it is. Melody: from the types of markings I think this is bear territorial markings. *GGGGGRRRRRRAAAAAAAA* Suddenly something nearby roared and we could hear the heavy steps of some creature. The two girls ran quickly until they could see the monsters in a clearing next to a lake. In the waters was a large 10 meters long serpent leaving the water while on the shore a bear on its hind legs standing 8 meters tall with red fur roared at the snake. Hunter: what is this? Melody: quiet or they will hear us'' she said and pulled out her bow. As we watched the snake rushed at the bear with startling speed for its size but the bear was quick to react and slammed its paw on the snakes head when it was in reach and held it down with all its weight. The snake reacted by coiling around the bear and began squeezing but it still had an arm free which it used to continue slamming down on the head of the snake until the head caved in and the snake went limp. The bear quickly untangled itself and let out victory roar, which was cut short after receiving several arrows to the chest and legs. When it looked where the shots came from, it saw a girl aiming an arrow at it with a grin on her face. Melody: didn¡¯t think we would get so lucky to catch two creatures in one go'' he said smiling before letting loose the glowing arrow, ''[Mana Arrow Storm]'' was all she said before shooting a single arrow which split into hundreds and impaled the bear which fell limp on the ground. Still cautious of her surroundings she approached with the hunter behind her. Melody: Elena, butcher the pelt first from, I¡¯ll keep watch. At her order Elena runs forward while melody stands in the snakes head watching all directions for any enemies. It took about an hour to remove the pelt off the two giants and tie them in a bundle before putting it away in her bag. Then melody removed the several rings she had on and freed herself of the excess gravity. Melody: wow I feel so light now, guess these things really help, well let¡¯s go then. As she said this she grabbed the snake¡¯s tail and began dragging it effortlessly while Elena did the same with the bear. Elena: man I hate those instructors for making me a freak I wonder if being so strong is normal. Melody: how do think I feel, they put their all into thinking up new forms of torture to train me with, I¡¯m only getting by because my endurance and vitality has gotten past 150 already and I¡¯m sure it will only get higher. While walking back to the camp the instructors made, we noticed the animals avoiding us, seems they''re pretty smart because after they saw us dragging monsters like these they didn¡¯t even get close. When we reached the clearing the camp was made we saw the other two hunters that didn¡¯t follow us, they were tied up in some kind of training gear (torture device) that the instructors brought along with them, when they saw our catch their eyes almost popped out of their heads. H Instructor: wow impressive'' was all he could say as he looked at the monsters S Instructor: did you guys kill both of them. (S instructor = swordsmen instructor, H = hunter) We both shook their heads. Melody: we found them before they started fighting each other so we just laid low and let them fight after one died we just finished the other off. The looked at each other before they started laughing. S instructor: now that is what I call good luck and smarts. H instructor: really and how did you get back here without getting injured. They explained the other animals avoided them after seeing what we caught. H instructor: I¡¯m not too surprised there; a Red bear is one if the strongest animals in this forest same for the snake. S instructor: let get going quickly when we return their will be a celebration waiting after they see these two beauties. They quickly packed up and untied the two hunters. S instructor: go on help them weaklings, and make sure to prepare tomorrow will be a fun day for you two'' he said in a cold tone which sent shivers down all our spines Melody: better work harder from now on'' she though as everyone helped with the catch. *** In the morning I was the first to wake up. All four of them were grouped up in the corner sleeping. Kira: they must have been extremely tried to still be sleeping after so long¡¯ I thought to myself then walk to the entrance. Outside I notice the area had become infested with chaos dragons again, rage built up inside me seeing so many of those pest after I had spent so much time to clean it up yesterday. Kira: guess I have no other choose then, I¡¯m going to have to train these others so that this mess can be cleaned much quicker. The first thing I did was clean the area which didn¡¯t take much time; I had gotten very adept at using [Mirage Cyclone] that I can clear a 5 kilometers around me. After the area was clear the dragons began exiting but I didn¡¯t let them go off I quickly had them enter my cave after I woke up the others 4 inside. Kira: ok all of you I¡¯m going to make this very simple your all to weak and I can¡¯t handle this situation by myself from today I¡¯m going to drill you guys till you can kill swarms of these pests with your eyes closed and don¡¯t think you can get away, until you can kill them all completely they will probably keep appearing. Every last dragon felt the seriousness in my voice and starting to tremble remembering how easily I cleared the area this morning but none tried to argue or run. With no one against it I started to drill them, first I checked their current strength and how I should go about this. After the day ended my head was hurting, every last one of them were very weak, if my lowest stat that influence directly in combat was 150 and highest was over 300 then they were at lowest 50 and highest at 140, even Relon and the others who were the strongest didn¡¯t pass 230. Kira: this is going to be a long two and a half months¡¯ I though while thinking of any possible method to training everyone without killing them. Re:Guardian Chapter 7 During the remaining two and a half months we had before our teachers would return, I drilled the dragons in every possible way I could think of. I might have become a bit sadistic like Goliath, kind of worried about this. But many changes happed many very good, it seems that some of the dragons were taught magic outside the basic standard magic systems; some knew ice, lightning and some developed their basic magic to the degree that it evolved into different kinds like one what levi did, she specialized in earth and trained so much that it became metal magic, I know is sound strange but she can manipulate metals like playing with clay, also when she made it into a breath attack it promoted her to a sub species of guardian dragon, an Iron Guardian Dragon, she didn¡¯t change much but when we checked we found her scales were very tightly that would couldn¡¯t see individual scales and it was all made of pure iron. Ryuu, Relon and Vent also gained Guardian evolutions each a different type, Relon turned into a Fire Dragon, his body became a fierce red and also grew quite a bit which didn¡¯t happen for use so we could tell it was a power form, Ryuu became a lighting dragon, which didn¡¯t change his looks much but changed his color to yellow, after he developed the breath from it and it looked awesome when he was charging the electricity, the spikes on his back were all giving out sparks of electricity which got stronger until he shot it out and last Vent became an ice dragon, turning light blue in the process, his breath attack is just as intense as a fire attack it¡¯s like watching him shoot out a blizzard that was how intense it was and it only got stronger after he evolved, beside. For me I learned lightning magic from the dragons that knew it and trained it along with my air magic as my primary magic systems that I felt very at home with, let me say lightning breath attacks are awesome it had so much power behind it that it might give any adult dragon a hard time, after making a breath attack for both wind and lightning a popup appeared.

I stared blinking at them, ¡®two at the same time, I think it the breaths that did that, still its lacking for some reason so no¡¯. And like before I pressed it and again a new one appeared but this was different

I grinned seeing this, ¡®now this looks more promising and it fits more my taste this time I pressed Yes¡¯. My body changed very little I the color of my scales went from aquamarine to sapphire colored, I also felt my body grow, after a month most dragons were at 2¡¯30 when on all fours like me but I felt my body growing a lot, I only saw how much I grew after I reached my cave I stood at around 2¡¯50 when on all fours it was overwhelming when I checked my stats which were, before the evolution, all, except luck and charisma, above 300 were now above 400 most dragons were starting to get into the high 200s this evolution quickly reopened the gap I had with them for when I started to train them. Also my air and lightning breath attacks fused to make [Storm Breath] when I used it, it shot out a huge burst of wind like a tornado clad in many lightning bolts flashing around it, sometimes I think im getting to overpowered for my own good I should train restraint next it would be bad if I blow up a village if I use to much strength. (watch natsu¡¯s from fairy tail fire off Fire lightning dragons roar and think of Wendy¡¯s wind roar instead of fire and you will get what it looks like, fairy tail is such good reference for this ;D) After use five about 10 of the 70 other dragons I trained were able to become guardian dragons the rest evolved into regular dragons that involved their favorite magic systems, even after killing chaos dragons they never got the option to evolve into a guardian so I must be for basic hatchings that branch of evolution. At the end of the three month training, we had comfortably links pretty much every last cave in the tree within our area so we had a lodging area it was at the first day after the third month that we head it a barrage of deafening dragon roars coming from outside which quick woke every one of us. We rushed outside and what we found was startling, outside like a swarm of black bats the chaos dragon hatchlings were swarming around the teachers who were fighting back but were on the losing end because of their large size the small fast chaos dragons could get into blind spots with so many. Kira: everyone charge help our masters NOW¡¯ I roared and launched myself forward. During the time I was training the other dragons I made sure they could use [Wind Acceleration] so as soon as I order it there were 70 hatchlings cutting through the air and reached the fighting in a fraction of a second, I flew toward Goliath, while the others when to their own masters, and used [Mirage Cyclone] and took out 30 or so that were coming from behind, then with a swift 90 degree turn to the left I blasted [Storm Breath] at the approaching dragons, the tornado part of the attack literally drilled through whatever it came in contact with while the lighting around it spread outwards to attack anything unlucky enough to be near it, after it ended it easily left the left side almost empty the lighting traveled at least 10 meters out of the main body of the attack, only the corpses of the dragons near the outer rim of the attack had a corpse remaining the rest were turned to dust which made me start in amazement. Kira: this is new I didn¡¯t know you could be overwhelmed so easily master Goliath: any dragon could be with such numbers, anyway thanks you¡¯ve grown strong, lets clear this place up so we can go. She said before releasing an emerald color flame aimed at the right side, I was literally stunned at the scale of the attach, if my attach made the dragons turn to dust then goliaths didn¡¯t even leave dust that the power it had behind it, when I looked around I saw that it wasn¡¯t just her every last master was at this level, though the students weren¡¯t lacking for hatchlings we had just seen that we had a long way to go before we can compete with elders like them. After I regained my composure I began releasing my breath with more as well as the other skills I came up with. (Look at fairy tail dragon slayer attacks those were added, dragon claw, wing attack, iron fist, and so on just the basic skills all dragon slayer use, secret attack are still not made) It didn¡¯t take long before the swarm to be reduced to no more than a few pack at this point the masters weren¡¯t even fighting anymore, it was only us hatchlings, it was then that Goliath let out a roar. Goliath: everyone, gather over here, we must form groups before we return to the academies, it will ensure our safety. The gathered around and after a few moments became quiet. Goliath: is this everyone, aren¡¯t there more dragon hatchlings Adult dragon: no the only ones that weren¡¯t corrupt were these I¡¯m amazed there are still so many Goliath: I see well it looks like each academy still has 2 dragons left, quite the number, to have so many left, so uncommon. Hatchling: it¡¯s because of your student, he drilled us worst then master did. She looked at me with what I think was a grin, then looks at the others. Goliath: alright the dragons from the same academy will return as a group of their own it seems there are enough dragons to do that so there are no worries about being shorthanded. With that the dragons broke off and small groups of two and three adults fly off in different directions with their student behind them. The largest group was from my academy with all five of us, we are also the strongest so it wasn¡¯t a surprise that we came out unscratched, even before I trained them they were still stronger them most. Goliath: good now let¡¯s go your partners should be gathering soon as well so we must be off. She said that and began flying off with all of us behind and, unlike when we first arrived I was calmly able to accompany goliath without much stress to myself. *** Melody POV South of the world tree the small village Melody helped found had become one of the best frontier adventurer towns of the kingdom. Orario, was one of the towns most talked about and it adventurers of all over the kingdom as this area has many hunting grounds with creatures you can¡¯t find outside the forest. This made Melody gain fame quickly was nicknamed The Valkyrie because of her power and authority in the field but also because of her kind nature when she was in town helping and training. At the end of the three months all her teachers and friends gathered and were partying as a farewell. It was dazzling to her to have so many people think so kindly of her ever after what happened in her home town. Even though there were nice people like them there were still others that didn¡¯t let up the chance to insult her, as the town grew it attracted many people and that bought those that discriminated with a smile on their face, though those people were ¡°kindly¡± taught how to respect others by the combat teachers and were given nice discounts in all stores that knew her, so most discrimination died out as fast as it rose up. One the last day she was walking in the east side of town, taking her time going around town one last time before she left when she saw it, in the distance five huge dragon bodies with another five small ones flying behind. As they flew overhead tears began to form up knowing she would see Kira again as. To her surprise the adventures around her said some unsettling things Knight: what ups are dragons attacking? Mage women: really is there something going on She became glum hearing this adventures act like this since since they were from other kingdoms. The man held his cheek but just nodded as did everyone else in the vicinity since no one has ever been able to talk back to her when she was like this, the authority she released at these moments were more than words could describe you could only follow her words without question. With that she just ran off towards the west side were the dragons when to land in the flat planes. When I reached the west gate she saw them five large dragons standing over five hatchlings all over 2 meters tall all of them were different colors then she remembered and no aquamarine dragon was there but her eyes quickly fell on the sapphire dragon as if a magnet drew her in. She rushed out at speed someone could only say were beyond a normal human reach. Melody: KIRA!!!!!!! That was the last thing she said before she hit the chest of the sapphire dragon and pushed him back over 5 meters before he fell over. *** Kira POV The moment we landed we were met with the 9 people, four were partners of the other 4 and 5 were the chairmen. I looked around for melody but only saw the surrounding dragons and people. Suddenly I sensed a surge of mana coming from town, when I looked a small blur was speeding towards me too fast for me to react and slammed into my chest and pushed me to the ground. After I got over the daze from being knocked over I looked at who did that. Lying on top of me was Melody dressed in interesting leather armor with some small steel plates covering her chest, leg and arm up to the elbow. Melody: I missed you so much I lived through hell with so many teachers. Even though she was smaller she kept me pinned down Kira: ¡®what kind of training did she do that she could keep a dragon almost double her size pinned down¡¯ I though, to get loose I transformed into a human and quickly jumped away. She was just as shocked as me, when I looked down is as I was taller than her and looked the same age, I had sapphire blue hair and a well-built frame that looked around 16 years old standing at about 1¡¯70, and unlike before where I was dressed with simple villagers cloths now I had small plate armor over soft leather which didn¡¯t get in the way of my movements. He then looked at Goliath and the others and nodded, the next second all the dragons were covered in mist and appeared as humans. Goliath looked the same as when I saw her, of the adult dragons the two orange wyverns were female just as well figured as Goliath while the remaining two were men, both vary handsome and not muscular or thin most women would probably fight over them if they did know they were dragons. Of my generation they also turned into humans, Relon was like me well-built with fiery red hair then went down to his shoulders and was about the same height he wore something similar to knights armor with, Ryuu was shorter than us and thinner, looked about 14 in human years with dark blond hair cut short he wore dark yellow cloth cloths that looked to be made for fast running, Levi had dark blue hair down to her waist looked around 16 in human years was dressed like a huntress and Vent was the one that looked the oldest, he wore glasses and gave a serious look, had slightly long light blue, almost white, hair and tall and thin body frame, he wore a normal adventure¡¯s cloths underneath a light blue cloak. Kaiser: keep these safe it will teleport you but it is also a way to communicate with me as well for me to advise you in some things that you might not know. Angela: I would suggest you get read, since you are all powerful compared to normal humans and other beings you will be sent to frontier villages in almost unexplored area, up to now all lived normal lives with a few game feature like being able to see your statue but now it will become even more like a game as you will get quest to complete. Kira: a game is there a reason it will be a game. Kaiser: yes almost all gods are bored so when they got the opportunity they brought all of you here to entertain them. His response made us silent, as we though there was some kind a deep reason but just to entertain them. Kaiser: I know what you¡¯re thinking, if its for such a reason why did you remove us from earth, remember I said when we got an opportunity that means the earth itself wanted to get rid of you who was destroying it. I understood it and I could guess that it would get boring living so long. Alice: if it¡¯s something like that it not like we could argue with it also it was boring for us on earth as well, I¡¯ve always hated the boring life I had Kaiser: well at least you understand also I would take this chance to stock up on necessity and tools you will need you¡¯re going to a place with low development until it becomes safer, the area is dense forests with a high density of monsters there which makes development harder, I¡¯m sure you can understand your training now right melody kids, the dragons where taught as fighters you kids were taught as developers and trainers it¡¯s to make these towns flourish, now off you go. Without giving us a chance the orb dissipated which left Angela rubbing her forehead. We stood confused for a bit before melody broke the silence. Melody: we should go here a map of town for each of you there are many shops we need to go to ill get medical plants and tools Kira: I¡¯ll go to, I need tools as well We all split up in pares with our partners, each pare when their own way to buy tools for themselves, me and melody went to her house which was fitted with many tools you would need for tailoring, blacksmithing, and other crafts some of which I also knew but I was a dragon I crafted different things then her. After finding out this was a world like a game we also discovered the inventory which is like an alternate space used to transport objects but you still have to bare the weight of the items but since we were both absurdly strong we were able to store all of her things except those built into the house. We then went and bought lots of medical plants I had learned to process into many medicines and potions I also bought the tools to work with them since melody didn¡¯t learn to do this craft and didn¡¯t have the tools. After an hour we had gathered everything we needed and waited at the west gate with everyone chatting on what they wanted to do after we get there. It was around this time that the crystals Angela handed us began to glow even through the pockets they were stored in its still shined brightly. Then a popup appeared All hero¡¯s brought here from earth have all reached the required age to become independent, you will all be examined and sent to a village that properly fits your physical prowess those who are born into partnership such as dragons they will go to the same place as there partner. If one person from your chosen god is powerful enough to protect everyone in a more dangerous area they will be taken to that space. You as a dragon are superior to normal dragons as is your partner to half-elves at your level, you and your partner as well as those who are under the dragon god Kaiser will be sent to the frontier village Orilon in the Krelk Forest. Warning: as you are a dragon within the town you will be regarded as a monster if your true form is revealed without having high familiarity with most of the residents. After that we waited in silence until everything around us ten disappeared Re:Guardian Chapter 8 After a moment, our surroundings changed. When we looked around we saw a village which barely deserved to be called that at best it could be called a camp. There were about a dozen or more buildings surrounded by a wooden wall separating the forest outside from the village. More than half of the houses were badly damaged. When I looked at the people around us there were about five groups of about ten each, including us. Kira: wonder what¡¯s going on there¡¯s no one around. Ryuu: I got a bad feeling like something is hiding While we were looking around I felt something above me and when I looked a large bulky body was falling towards me. I instantly moved to block it. Kira: everyone get down. As I yelled everyone moved away and I blocked the arm that fell on me that was probably as big as me while the monster was at least twice my size. The weight on the arm pushed me to my knees with how powerful it was. It didn¡¯t stop at the first punch as he lifted his right arm his left one came from my side but since I was ready I instantly transformed my body into half dragon while hiding it under my armor and held off the attack with a bit more ease. After the first few hits towards me, shining arrows began flying overhead and hitting his face and chest hurting him. It was while he was distracted that Ryuu took his chance and quickly got me out of there. Ryuu: that was too dangerous, it¡¯s quite powerful Kira: tell me about it, that thing is as strong as us we need to deal with this quickly; it isn¡¯t to our advantage to fight to long. Kira: hey did you just get Ryuu: a quest, yes I did, right off the bat they make us feel the power of the location we were sent to, that¡¯s brutal. Melody: hey get up there are more coming in we need to act quickly and get rid of this thing. Kira: ok, first off everyone this thing is easily as strong as we are, since we us dragons cant fight at full power in town fight as half-dragons make sure to hide it from the other players.¡¯ I whispered to my party Kira: hey you guys go take care of the other trolls; we will deal with this one They nodded and each group ran in a different directions When they were gone we turned to the Troll that was approaching slowly and all five dragons began changing until all of our body except our face was half dragon. Kira: hey guys we will be vanguard you guys rearguards, fire magic and arrows at him to distract him and create openings for us. At my order they spread out and began firing different spells at it while the five of us closed in on it from different directions. He quickly aimed for Relon who was the slowest of all five of us and swung its bulky arm his way; I quickly took this chance and ran at his knee with my clutched fist. Kira: [Storm Dragons Fist] I yelled and smashed his knee making him lose balance but it didn¡¯t break it as I had intended. Before I had a chance to react, his arm that was raised aimed at Relon swung in an arc with startling speed and hit me, who was standing behind him and sent me flying into the palisade. Everyone was surprised I was caught by the attack Levi: what¡¯s with this thing not it took a direct hit but and was still able to hit Kira off guard Ryuu: calm down we need to stay calm to plan this out. Kira: ok now im pissed this bastard really wants to die. I was already up when they began pancaking Relon: don¡¯t be rash this isn¡¯t an opponent we can handle carelessly like the chaos dragons we used to test our skills on also we can¡¯t use breath attacks here because of the village. Kira: fine ill calm down but just remember Relon, there is always calm before the storm. The air around me was swirling violently because my anger was making me releasing mana. He stared at me with what I think was a grin but no one moved the only sound came from the other fights. After a few seconds a strong wind blew while he was looking at me just before we all disappeared with the wind. He quickly looked around and spotted me as I was running behind him. As he turned as he swung his arm horizontally at me using the turn to add more force into the blow but as it got half way to its target before someone got in the way while holding only a single long sword. In front of the incoming arm Luis stood with his sword up high and glowing as he poured mana on his edge before swinging it which lifted a lot of dust. Even with the dust we head the clear roar of pain from the Troll but only after the dust had settled did we see what happened, Luis¡¯s cut went half way through the trolls arm and it was now limp. As it roared in agony and grabbed its damaged arm we didn¡¯t lose this opportunity and fired a volley of attacks. Kira: [Storm Relon: [Fire Ryuu: [Lightning Levi: [Iron Vent: [Ice ¡°¡±¡±¡±¡±Dragons Fist]¡±¡±¡±¡± The punches hit almost simultaneous all over its body. I hit is knee again but this time I put more force behind it because I was still pissed off, levi hit him in the gut with vent while relon coming from the front and ryuu from behind hit simultaneous on the front and back of his head, but he still didn¡¯t fall and even showed signs he was healing as he saw the wound on his arm close a bit Melody: everyone get back its not dead yet. She yelled as we moved back, with her Julie, Nika and Alice were all in a group glowing as they charged a spells. When everyone had backed off a few meters they began chanting. Girls: ¡°¡°¡±¡±Spirits of the Earth, Strike thy enemy with the weight of the Earth, Shake the planes and raise mountains, ¡°Earths Judgment¡±¡±¡±¡± Suddenly a wide magic circle appeared above the whole town. Suddenly the ground began shaking then below the troll we were fighting large spikes began springing out impaling him, when I looked at the other groups the same thing was happening with the trolls there and all over the town. Every time a new troll jumped over the walls the spikes appeared even before it could touch the ground. After about a minute the make circle vanished and there was an eerie quiet which was broke when the four girls fell down exhausted. I quickly ran over and helped melody as Vent, Relon and Ryuu did the same with their partner. Vent: what was that spell you just used? Melody: it¡¯s called Earths Judgment, it¡¯s an A rank spell that we learned only the incantation for but never had the chance to use Julie: same here I never used it because it¡¯s a complete mana guzzler it last for as long as there are enemies left, it doesn¡¯t matter if we have the mana or not once the spell is case it will continue until all creatures we consider an enemy are dead. Luis: isn¡¯t it dangerous for the caster as well Melody: yes but that¡¯s why you need to know your limits, we had to cast the spell together so that we shared the burden or else we would have died just now. As I looked at each of them I saw they were very pale. Kira: ¡®must have been an exhausting spell if it left them all so drained¡¯ I though. After a few second we heard one of the doors from the houses open and an elderly man came out. Elder: oh my, I never thought someone would appear at such a time and save us thank you all. The old man bowed to us and began crying. Nika: um sir can we talk later we¡¯re really tired¡¯ was all she said before she closed her eyes and was fast asleep. Elder: oh my please bring them into my house we have some beds free¡¯ he then turned to the other groups, ¡¯please take anyone injured in as well it would be bad leaving injured stay outside. After he gave the instructions the doors from the other houses began opening and warily the people came out and guided the other parties inside, while the elder entered his own house. Inside was vary bare, there was little in terms of furnishing but there were quite a few beds so we placed the girls in them and returned to the living room and sat down. Elder: well let¡¯s first start with introductions, I¡¯m the village chief Warin, well if it was a village at least, ever since we settled these lands it has been nothing but hardships. Kira: I can somewhat tell there isn¡¯t much development here is there a reason for that. Warin: you killed part of it, those damned monsters outside are the bloody problem we can¡¯t even step outside the walls next to the town to cut down the trees and make space between the walls and trees because they are just waiting out there. Kira: ¡®wow that is a problem¡¯ I though. Warin: im so glad such a powerful group as yours came here the gods must have finally looked towards us, I¡¯m so happy we won¡¯t lose any more lives He began crying tears of joy again; ¡¯it must have been hard dealing with this for so long¡¯. I poke Ryuu and Relon, who were beside me. Kira: so what do you think, think we can handle something like this¡¯ I whispered to them Ryuu: truthfully if we don¡¯t cooperate with the other groups it would be hard to get much of anything working here I think, we dragons would have a good chance at fighting off the pests outside but I don¡¯t know about our partners. Relon: I agree, if it was anyone but you who took that first blow when the troll ambushed us they would have died. As we talked Warin looked at us and coughed. Warin: um if everything is ok I would like to reward you guys something for saving the town. We looked at him and gave wary smiles. Warin: I know what you¡¯re thinking, what we would have to give, right well its simple come with me. He led us outside and towards some broken down houses near the walls. Warin: here all these houses have been abandon, the residents were killed by the monsters that invaded so there is quite a few empty, though they are a bit damaged we have wood in storage to repair. When he looked at us he gave a wary smile but I could see he was sad when he remembered his friends that lived in those houses. Kira: Thank you and you don¡¯t need to worry about us, will gather our own supplies, you are all burdened enough. Levi: he¡¯s right we can¡¯t take resources of a town that needs it more than we do, we are strong enough to provide for ourselves but thank you. He just smiled and walked back to his house. Kaiser: well one of the objectives of the ¡°hero¡¯s¡± under the gods is to covert towns so they worship the god of the party which in turn strengthens the god and as a result gives more benefits to you guys. Ryuu: so what do you need us to do to get this village to accept you as their god Kaiser: easy if you guys work hard and become their saviors in this godforsaken land and build a church dedicated to me, after its down Angela can go to that town and help with the rest. Levi: so just help them out then sounds easy enough Relon: don¡¯t think so casually there are five different groups here with the same objective. Kaiser: no I think you have a head start because of the little spell the girls fired off it clearly set your group apart from the others it¡¯s also about your question Kira why your super rookies, you guys are overwhelming more powerful than the normal dragons your age, so you rank the top five already and don¡¯t need to participate in the tournament in three months, anyway I¡¯ll be going now work hard. With that the orb vanished without giving us time to continue. Ryuu: so what now Luis: I think we should first set up our things in the houses, I think one pair takes a house Kira: if it¡¯s that then I¡¯ll take the house with the blacksmith shop layout, Melody was taught blacksmithing so we need that area for her. Luis: I don¡¯t see why not I didn¡¯t learn that so I have no use for it. Kira: ok I¡¯ll be off I left the others and headed to the abandon blacksmiths house. It was a two story building the first floor was built with a large forge but the metal equipment like anvil, hammers and other stuff were pretty old and useless, the walls were pretty moldy and had many broken spaces here and there. Kira: it¡¯s going to take a lot of sweat and mana to fix this place. Then walked outside and into the center of town then sitting down I put my palms on the ground and began channeling mana into the ground, suddenly a single sprout popped out and grew quickly until it was several meters tall. Kira: ¡®it sure was a good thing I learned a bit of nature magic it works wonders in situations like this¡¯ it though. I quickly pulled the tree out with roots cut the roots them off and filled the hole that was left with dirt using earth magic and walked over to my house and began processing the wood cutting them into logs then into wooden planks when I was finally done a few hours had passed and I had a large pile of wooden planks ready. Then I set up Melody¡¯s blacksmith equipment and lit the forge and began melting the old rusted equipment with some newer iron ore and used them to make nails. Finally I began removing the old moldy planks and replacing them with new ones. When I finally finished it was night already and Melody had woken up already and was helping set up the furniture we brought. Melody: this looks good this building has a lot of space already and there a lot of space outside to expand. She said happily as she finishes setting up her bed. While she talked I was in deep thought about how we could help the town. Kira: this town needs a lot of stuff but I think the most it needs at this moment is more security we need to get rid of the monsters nearby first, then we need connect ourselves to the outside world and get people circulating in this town¡¯ I though. Melody: ¡­ra ¡­ Kira, hey Kira are you listening. Kira: sorry I was just thinking¡­ Melody: let me guess, how we are going to help this town right, well leave that to me and Alice we both helped establish towns during our training months so we have some ideas. I just smiled and finished up what I was doing and fell onto my own bed tired from today¡¯s events. In the morning I woke up to the sound of metal hitting metal and sound of people talking outside and down stairs. When I walked down I saw a large crowd of people with old tools in hand and Melody working feverously on the forge repairing them. We spend the morning fixing all the tools at noon Warin walked in with a few kids with him and put a basket on the table. Warin: good afternoon, here¡¯s a little something from all of us to you two for your hard work Melody: oh we didn¡¯t work from pay; we just want to use what we learned to help out others. Warin: I know I can tell you¡¯re not like those other people who went and started hunting the monsters outside, do you believe they saw us in our situation and they still wanted us to trade our little supplies for the meat they hunted. When we got outside we were surprised outside was a large pile of bodies Warin: what is this, those monsters and animals aren¡¯t they the ones that are just outside the village Julie: no they ¡°were¡± the monsters and animals that were just outside the village In the pile, that easily reach two stories high, was a many different animals many were monster versions of common animals like bears twice the normal size. The same goes for fox, rat, rabbits, wolves and a few others all were dead. Ryuu: we didn¡¯t kill all of them just enough to keep them away from the town for a good amount of time and give us plenty of food. All the villagers had their month open wide at the special they saw, monsters they could barely kill were piled up high with the kids that killed them just smiling about it as if it were the most natural thing. Suddenly all the villagers began to cheer and began picking up what they could grab, the smaller animals went first. Warin: thank you all so much, not only did you save us from the invasion you gave us food again it¡¯s like the gods have blessed us with saints. I instantly saw the perfect opportunity for a quick finish to another problem Kira: it¡¯s not the gods it¡¯s a single god that sent us ten here, his name is the Dragon God Kaiser, he saw that you were all suffering so he sent us to help you. Warin: Kaiser I¡¯ve heard of him when I was young, one of the youngest known gods, he reached godhood by doing an almost impossible feat of killing a god of war and ended the Gods War when he ascended, knowing such a god looked towards us is such an honor, if only we had resources to repay him by building a shrine for him. As the villagers returned for the rest of the animals and they heard our conversation and were listening quietly. Melody: you don¡¯t need something like that¡­ Villager women: for the god that sent such saints to our village to watch over us he deserves a proper place if worship, now that we can gather wood we can build and repair our town and grow. I quickly called over the others Kira: listen protect all of them from the monsters, a pare stay inside the town to watch over the other parties we don¡¯t know if they will take kindly to us taking such a quick initiative, me and melody will probably be getting busy from now on in the smithy we need to make large stocks of nails and tools, if anything happens call us. I give out orders, as the villagers rushed out and the sound of cutting began resounding through the forest. As we enter the ship melody pulled out a large parchment, quill, and ink well and many measuring instruments you would normally see in movies that show something from the 16 century on earth Kira: what¡¯s this for. Melody: I have experience in planning construction so I¡¯m going to make blueprints for the shrine Kira: make sure to hide them, I don¡¯t know if the other parties will be so happy about the sudden changes since it doesn¡¯t benefit them. I then began working on the tools and items needed for the constructions and repairs that will begin soon. Re:Guardian Chapter 9 Unlike Kira and his group, the other parties didn¡¯t care much about the village to help them out though some did work for pay (quest); one specific group even hated having to be in the village. It was led by a Silvon Count, an average height young man with silky black hair, cold black eyes and pale skin that gave off the feeling of a noble, he and his companions were like the dragons able to hide their true forms with magic but they hated it so they went as little as possible into town and only hunted to get stronger in their real form. When they came to this world they choose be born as a bat monster, which made them be born five years before the teleported to Orilon, during this time they had gone from a simple bat monster to a vampire, Collin even possessed a unique variation being pure blood vampire which gave him more power of control over bat related creatures. All his companions were also vampires and held the same hate for humans. As for their objectives because of their hate they desperately chase after more strength so they can destroy humans which go against their god, Nyx the goddess of the night (Greek god), who like other gods want to increase her influence while having them like her and not fear her. In the time they had been here they only entered town once, when they got here, it¡¯s been three days since they left and are nearly out of supplies. When they neared Orilon they became dumb founded, the village that was being overrun by the forest had the south and west gate completely free of trees up to 150 meters away and the ground was grasslands (thanks to Levi who learned nature magic) unlike before were mutant animals walked around now just normal ones walked around while the humans spread the grassland while clearing the forests. Silvon: what the, how did they get so much done Celina: I¡¯m sure there is a group behind this; we weren''t the only ones that came here after all. He got angry at his misfortune, they were now able to improve their living conditions so prices will raise and lower it obvious that he didn''t like this. Silvon: fine let¡¯s go and get out quickly I feel nauseous being near so many humans. *** Kira POV Just like how I had predicted the next day was tremendously busy. The need for tools for repairs was totally ridiculous. More than half the village, which was about 15 adults, was outside cutting down the trees while the 8 of the remaining were processing and the rest helped repair one building at a time. I know what you¡¯re thinking with so few people how is it going so quickly right, well besides my party, two other groups were helping out, but the other parties left on the first day and haven¡¯t returned so it not like they know about this quest we got once it renovations began.

I don¡¯t know what this secret is but I think this might be a chain quest, also it seems quest difficulty ranges from S to G so this quest is easier than the first, as proof nothing like the trolls appeared mostly animals that were trying to push us back approached. Our group also got another quest.

This quest was obviously obtained from having the villagers accept Kaiser instead if any other but it worried me that the other hero''s might interpret, because the difficulty suggests this but I pushed it aside because we planned to build it only after we complete the restoration of the village. Though I said put it out of my mind I couldn¡¯t when one of the groups that had left the first day returned and entered the shop. Silvon: you¡¯re the smith right fix our weapons'' he said arrogantly while depositing his weapon on the counter as did his whole party, most had long swords but there were two pairs of daggers. Kira: ok let¡¯s see, this should be around... Silvon: here as pay'' he said and pulled a large chunk of meat interrupting me while having a disgusted look on his face. Kira: two pieces of this size and it¡¯s a deal,¡¯ I haven¡¯t hunted yet so we are low on food and these guys annoy me talking like that. He looked annoyed and was about to shout when one of his companions pulled another bundle and handed it over. Leon: here, so please begin. Taking the meat, I put it in a basket below the counter and took the weapons and began repairing. It went rather quickly since I had repaired a lot I had increased the speed I could do it. When I handed back the weapons back they simply took it and left. Kira: I should watch out for them, I can see them causing trouble. I returned to my forge and begin on more nails that were requested earlier. *** Silvon POV Silvon: that arrogant bastard he dare request more. Leon: calm down, he was one of the people that came with us, so he is from earth, if he came here he must be strong, also he doesn¡¯t give off the scent of a human Celina: so he''s a different race Leon: most likely, we aren¡¯t the only race that can live among humans, as long as monsters can learn transformation magic they can look human. He grinned when he finished reading. Silvon: hehehe this is perfect, we can test out our power on these fools while taking over this place without sucking up to these humans. Leo: Silvon, please think about this the quest offers more problems than benefits. Silvon: really because I think we have a chance, there is probably only one group that is under that god and if I remember there were five groups in total that appeared so its 4 vs 1 to destroy the church, it¡¯s in our favor. He grinned at how fortunate he was. Celina: even if we hate it, there are some benefits to coming into town at least once in a while. Silvon: even if that¡¯s true, I want to avoid it as much as possible, anyway we need to stay here so that we can monitor their progress, so go claim one of those abandon houses. At his order Leon walked off and came back a few minutes later. Leo: I found a two story house at the edge of town will that do. Silvon: yes the further the better. With that they headed for the house. *** Ryuu POV Outside the village Ryuu, Julie, Vent, Nika, Levi and Luis were helping with cutting the trees, the help came after it was cut because when they started to fall the branches up near the top, which were tangled together, would hold the tree up so someone needed to go up and cut those to release the tree. Nika and Julie did that, as beast women they have are similar to werewolves, they can take more human appearance that look like semi humans who only have tails and ears. When Julie transformed she becomes more wolf like, her teeth become all sharp and with claws and only a thin coat of fur over her body, which is the difference between werewolves and wolf beast men as werewolf are more wolf then man while beast men are more man then beast. Nika''s change is the same as Julie only her tail becomes larger. At first, when they began climbing it was just climbing but when Nika turned back grinned when she was climbing faster and said Julie was slow, that changed everything. After that it became a race to see who reaches the top first, and then who cuts more branches before the tree fell. Though their partners thought they were playing too much but the villagers couldn¡¯t help but be amazed at the athletic feats the girls showing them. Luis: is that all that¡¯s worrying you Ryuu: no but you would think that they would try and become more familiar with the villagers but they are just ignoring them, I don¡¯t know if I¡¯m just over cautious but I feel something is going on. Levi: guess it¡¯s not just you then, I¡¯ve had the same feeling for a while now, I was sure there would be people that lived as if this was a game. Julie: maybe they just had a harder life then us, I would understand it then if they didn¡¯t open up to many people Luis: if we think about it they all should be around our strength right, it¡¯s not so simple to get to this level without unorthodox training methods so they could be from some military country or something. Ryuu: whatever happened to them we still need to be cautious I don¡¯t doubt the possibility they might have a quest to interrupt the church construction. We agreed to stay with our guard up at all times. We spent the rest of the day cutting the rest of the trees every tree that falls, Levi takes care of the stump by crushing it with the earth around it and making fertilizer then makes grass grow where it used to stand. As night approached we had cleared a semi-circle around the town, from the gate on the south side of the wall all the way to the north side, 150 meter stretch of grassland had formed from the forest to the walls of the town. About three houses were repaired today because most of the villagers and heroes were outside cutting. Inside were only Kira, Melody, Alice and Relon. Melody spent half the day to finished the blueprint of the church, which ended up as two story wood building, the first floor is relatively large as it was the main room and the second floor was smaller but had about a 8 rooms most of which were rooms, one of the larger rooms would be a study/library, though small in size, and the last is an office for more official work. The second blueprint both Alice and Melody did together, it was for the construction of new taller and stronger walls, the current ones were at best two and a half meters tall and just a single layer of wood, they are shorter than the trolls that invaded. The new one will be 5 meters in height and three in width, which offered space to walk on top for guards to guard from above and it was in an octagon shape with two gates, north and south, and a tower at each end of the wall for archers to fire at longer range. It also takes advantage of the new gained land, it go out 50 meters leaving 100 meters of grassland to all sides, once it was all cut, before reaching the forest again. As night fell lamps and torches were lit throughout the town, which got lively as the restless villagers continued working and with more works were repairing more the six houses at a time, they also took down several houses that had been two damaged for repairs the space that was cleaned out our group laid a simple foundation, just a few logs to mark the space the building would be, before going to help the repairs. As the night dragged on we were able to finish the repairs and went home tired. Leo POV Unlike the other groups Silvon¡¯s didn¡¯t get sleepy, on the other hand they were more alert at night then during the day because of their racial trait as well as another trait, one given by their goddess Nyx, since she is the goddess of the night those who receive he blessing get a bonus in power during the night. Kira¡¯s group also gets one it¡¯s what contributed to them being stronger without them knowing, while Silvons group gains power at night, Kira gains power simply being of the dragon race and in human form he gets less of a bonus but the more he reverts to human for the stronger the blessing gets, the same goes for the other dragons, the partners work the same but their blessing doesn¡¯t change. Though only the gods themselves know of this fact, but blessings like Nyx¡¯s can be mistaken for a racial trait were they get stronger at night. Now back to what was happening because they don¡¯t sleep a few of them normally go hunting at night to kill time, Leo on the other hand was scouting out the other groups and gathering information on them, mainly Kira¡¯s group. Leo: this is getting annoying this group is the only one acting like kids, we are all pretty much the same age why are they so cheerful. As he watched from outside he saw Kira and Melody chatting and eating some food while joking around, this angered him. Leo: it¡¯s like they never faced hardships they are just kids with strength. As he looked he remembered the times he and the others were still young bats, humans had come and decimated the bat colony they lived in, the ten in their group were smarter so they hid and once the humans killed their family they set up camp and finally went to sleep. It was at this moment that they stuck Silvon was the first and he went down and carefully began draining the humans of their blood while he was sleeping, soon the other ten did the same and killed all of the humans in this manner, when they finally finished all of them underwent an evolutions into Vampire bats, all except Silvon who went directly to Vampire. As Leo remembered theses memory¡¯s his calm demeanor began vanishing and his eyes began glowing red, a trait unique to vampires which allows them to see in the dark. Leo: these kids need to be taught a lesson but I need to be careful something feels off about them I don¡¯t know I get the same feeling from Silvon and the others at night. Though he didn¡¯t know it, he could somewhat feel the mana that fed the blessings that the gods gave their heroes. As he walked off his rage was forcibly smothered by the supposed calm demeanor he showed as he planned something. *** Kira POV In the morning I woke early to get things ready for my first hunting outside, since I had a sufficient about of tools made in advance I didn¡¯t need to work as all the houses were finished already and the new walls and church would only start being raised after all the surrounding trees were down, though Alice was already setting up the foundations with Relon on the open fields. As I finished getting ready Melody appeared dressed in hunter cloths that provided lots of protection. Kira: ready we aren¡¯t hunting tiny animals I want something to let out my built up frustrations. Melody: I was hoping for that as well, we have been stuck inside since we arrived I want to stretch my sore muscles. We grinned at each other as we left and exited town and went into the forest. As we entered the forest we were already on high alert with all sensing abilities active which quickly picked up several small animals that we ignored as it wouldn¡¯t provide a good hunt. As we moved further in we encounter bigger animals but nothing so tough until finally we found what we wanted. What we found was a primitive village, inside were many fat green creatures about 2 meters tall, had a pig head and carried a big club. Melody: this place stinks what are those pig face things. Kira: if I think about every fantasy creature I know the only one that fits this would be orcs. Melody: ya I reached that as well, they¡¯re supposed to be warriors right let¡¯s see if they are strong just one of them by themselves. With that in mind we stalked around the village until we spotted one group leaving. We followed them at a good distance so as not to alert them of our presence waiting for a chance to single one out. That chance came after a few minutes when the group split up and each one went a different direction so we followed the closes one for a few minutes until we determined it was safe to attack. As I approached I was already in my half dragon form for precaution, so when he spotted me he stood still staring before squealing and rushing towards me and swung the club. I blocked the first hit to gauge his strength, though I wish I didn¡¯t. It sent me flying into the tree to my right. I quickly regain my scene as he approached again swung, this time I dodged him and clawed at him in the face and left a gash in his face going over his right eye. This made him roar in pain and much to my despair other orcs appeared and rushed me. I dodged as best I could and attacked back but even when I use [Mirage Cyclone] the damage was lessened because of the fat and they continued until I took down two of the four that appeared and decided to retreat. I climbed a tree and sprouted my wings and flew away picking up Melody along the way. Melody: don¡¯t return to the village yet they might follow us, turn to the right here fly that way to confuse them. I did as she said and flew until they lost sight of me then I turned and went flew a bit more before landing. Kira: man they were harder then I though, I killed a few but it was hard as hell, When I looked at her she knew I what I was thinking Melody: we need to train more don¡¯t we I nodded before I began walking again. Kira: ¡®we probably would be able to protect the church while it¡¯s under construction with this level of strength we need to get stronger¡¯ I though. As we arrived back in town I was already in my human form which was a bit banged up when the others saw me they were shocked then inviting them inside and explained what had happened, they all had serious faces. Levi: um what about the village, if we stay away something might happen, it¡¯s not like all the groups like the village, and one of the groups is still gone we don¡¯t know anything about them Kira: when the new wall is finished the villagers should have enough structured defenses against the monsters if they train a bit themselves they can protect the town with just that while we train. Alice: if it¡¯s like that then we should get to work as fast as possible the more time we take the more time the others have for training. With that dealt with everyone went out and began cutting the remaining part of the forest, it was more intense as we wanted to get it over quickly so we used a bit more strength which surprised even the other groups and left them with their mouths open it was at the point where we cleared the rest of the forest before the sun could set and had grass flourishing all over the plans. What surprised the villager even more was when we told them we would be back later at night after hunting and left. After entering we headed to the orc village and split up with our pairs and began training, unlike before I was ready for the multiple orcs and was able to predict their movements as I was focusing more than usual. After killing several orcs they stopped coming which meant that this group had been eliminated as I walked toward melody I saw her fighting when wielding a dagger and a short sword as she hacked at two orcs that couldn¡¯t keep up with her speed even when out numbering her 3 to 1. After a bit she finished them off as the forest grew silent. Kira: let¡¯s take them back they should make some good food, it¡¯s been to long since I¡¯ve had pork,¡¯ I said She chuckled at my joke then looked at the mound of bodies. Melody: are you taking all of them back Kira: yes it shouldn¡¯t be too hard. As I said, short stone walls lifted up around me and the floor got hard. After a bit all the bodies were in the stone box an I turned into my dragon form and lifted it easily and took off only turning back when he got near the town but I still kept at half human as it would be too heavy if not for that. As left the forest, the others appeared looking just like me with a bit stone box filled with bodies; we stared at each other then began laughing. Relon: looks like great minds always think alike We continued to joke as we each went home a feasted on the long awaited pork which brought back memories of our old world but it reminded that this new life holds much more life in it then our old on. In the morning we began the construction of the walls each of us took one side and had the foundation don¡¯t before noon were we feasted on more of the pigs before going back to work. By the end of the day the frame for all the walls were complete as were the towers structures, while we were working today we had the villagers process the large quantity of wood we had gathered yesterday and prepare them for tomorrow. That night Melody and I spend our time making the needed nails we would need in the constructions and only finished after two hours after the others went to sleep. The next few days were the same we spend most of our time on building the walls it went slower then we wanted but if we wanted a strong wall it had to go like that. The nights had become our training time and by the fifth night we had completely destroyed the orc village, we had gotten used to their fighting after the third day and just hunted them after that since it would make the area safer for humans if a threat like orcs weren¡¯t around. On the tenth day we were finally able to finish all the walls and completely destroyed the old on which opened the extra space inside the walls for the villagers to cultivate crops in safety, though just for self-use. This completed the quest restoration quest and but since we had max familiarity with the village it didn¡¯t do much though the secret on the other hand was much more helpful. Warin handed us a map of the area with some details of the terrain around the village, this help info they could gather before the monsters attacked but it was good to have a map, what was more interesting is that it showed which way they came from to reach an established settlement and it was far easily a two day flight for us it would easily be over a two week travel on the ground. After that we spent a few days hunting until we couldn¡¯t find anything that could actually make us sweat like the orcs did at the start so we began the construction of the church. It was at that point that we were glad we had taken the time to train, as soon as we began raising the walls of the church the group¡¯s attitude changed so we stopped going home and stayed at the church to watch it taking turns to watch while the others slept. It was on the third day that they made their move; at night the group I had fixed the weapons of one the third day walked but during Melody¡¯s shift she quickly called us from inside the church that had the first floor with its walls already raised. Silvon: finally I was getting tired of waiting to kill all of you. As he said that we could feel a cold killing intent coming from him and his companions. Silvon: it¡¯s been nauseating watching how cheerful you kids are while you run all over the place. When I looked to the side even the calm man at the time we giving a distorted grin full of malice they all looked crazy but the killing intent was clearly showing how serious they were. Kira: what is it, if you don¡¯t want to be here, leave then. Silvon: don¡¯t kid me I want to kill humans I want to see others grovel at my feet and that what I will do to this place first then I will take that map and go to next one, one after another until no humans are left. His eyes showed his seriousness in his words, but as he finished talking I began getting annoyed. Kira: if that¡¯s so then you¡¯ll have to take it over my dead body Silvon: with pleasure He then rushed out at me and I did the same to him suddenly everyone rushed out and began fighting. My fight with Silvon was the most intense of all when he grew wings and began flying he stared at me with a grin until I turned half human and sprouted wings as well and flew fast after him and pounding him with more power than before. He had a grim face when is started to go on the offensive. It lasted a bit of time before we separated and stayed floating in the air. Silvon: Bastards what the hell are you, I saw you transform before by but why do you have wings how did you get stronger!? I grinned at him in the same manner he did to me. Kira: me get stronger, no your mistake I have always been stronger then you all I did was hold back to study your crazy way of fighting. My words hit him hard as he lowered his head, then he began laughing hysterically. Silvon: you held back, hahahaha that¡¯s funny fine then let¡¯s see if you can hold back this. Suddenly his body began growing his wings got larger his hair got wild and spread out in all directions and his limbs grew long and thin. As he said that he vanished and appeared in front of me and punches me down but I stopped about halfway to the ground as I sense him approaching and punch his way but he was gone by the time my punch arrived there. Silvon: you can¡¯t catch me in the night we grow stronger at night, now die. As he said that he appears behind me and slashes with his claws. Though he should have felt my flesh resisting his claws it didn¡¯t, on the contrary I had grabbed his claws without even turning around Kira: I knew it you like to torture or prey by hitting from behind before killing them in the same place, you should rethink your fighting style it¡¯s to predicable now like before I¡¯ll tell you again I was holding back to study you. Rage spread throughout Silvon as he saw he was being played with by someone that wasn¡¯t even going all out. He lifted his other hand and tried to slash me with it but I just caught it as well I then moved in closer so I held his hands and not just the claws and then began squeezing them. He roared in pain at having his hands squeezed and it only got louder as I slowly increased the pressure. Suddenly I head a girl¡¯s voice call from behind. ¡­: let him go if you want this girl back When I looked back what I saw was Celina, holding Melody with her claws to her neck. The moment I saw that it was like time froze, it took a few moments for me to process things but the moment I did I let go of him and turned towards her with my head hanging a bit down letting a shadow cover my face. Celina: hehe good now then die bitch. She pulled her claw away from melody to add force but before she could start swinging she felt a killing intent so intense she stopped breathing for a moment and looked at the source. It was in front of her floating with only a few beats of his wing. I just floated there letting out, rage filled killing intent but it wasn¡¯t like a swirling rage it was calm so calm it was scary such a feeling existed. When I lifted my head, my sapphire eyes were giving off a bright glow while the rest of my body was covered in shadow that seemed to blur because of the pressure coming out of him. Kira: I¡¯ll say this once put her down¡¯ I said in a cold emotionless voice Celina just stayed their unable to regain her scenes out of fear. Kira: I said let. Her. GO!! The last word caused the pressure start swirling around violently as my rage began agitating. Both Silvon and Celina were caught unprepared and even forgot to flap their own wings and began falling for a short distance before they remembered. As they tried to remain in the air they were below me now as the pressure made them feel they were submerged in the ocean. Unnoticed by everyone the clear night sky had become covered in thunderclouds and when they finally noticed it was when a single bolt of lightning shot across the sky just overhead forming a root like appearance in the sky while causing a tremendous blast as it passed through the air in between the cloud. The sound was so strong it caused the vibrations throughout the area and made everyone wince in pain and surprised. When everyone was able to regain their scenes they looked up to were Kira had been but saw he was go. Everyone below saw where he was but the two vampires in couldn¡¯t find him that is until Celina noticed what happened. When she looked down she saw she wasn¡¯t holding Melody anymore what horrified her even more was when she looked at her right arm. All the way to the elbow had been cut cleanly off. After looking a few seconds the waves of pain finally reached her which caused her began roaring in pain as she fell to the ground, since she couldn¡¯t continue flying after fearing for her life so much and getting cut like this. The fear also overtook Silvon he landed roughly as he was having a hard time controlling he own body under the intense pressure. Kira had already landed near the church and deposited Melody in front of the building. Melody: Kira are you alright, you need to calm down a bit. Kira: don¡¯t worry, I¡¯m perfectly normal even now but I won¡¯t be satisfied without destroying them. I then turned around ignoring any more comments from her. The two groups had stopped fighting and separated so Silvons was grouped up in a bunch away from my group. Kira: guy¡¯s I¡¯ll deal with the rest I need an outlet for my anger so don¡¯t interfere. They just nodded and stepped back. All ten of their faces showed fear as I approached but the Silvon stood and rushed out and tried to hit me only to receive a punch in the gut that threw him over the town walls landing outside. Before any of them could react I punched them in the same manner and sent them in the same direction. Alice: hey what¡¯s he doing? Ryuu: I have a guess; simply it¡¯s too dangerous to fight as a dragon in town. Just as he said that I fly after them and stop about five meters in the air, over the group of vampires. Kira: you said you would make humans grovel under your feet right, with your strength you would die soon even if you could beat me but since you¡¯re going to die I¡¯ll let you die knowing what truly killed you. As I finished my body began growing larger, small spikes appeared on my back my muscles grew larger and my neck grew longer as my body returned to its dragon form. As it grew I landed on the ground but kept standing on my hind legs as I grew larger than the walls, at 5 meters tall double my size when on all four. All this left them trembling and paralyzed with fear. Silvon: y-y-y-you¡¯re a d-d-dragon. Kira: I¡¯ll show you what a dragon¡¯s wrath feels like. I said and lifted off until I as over the town and faced them. Though they couldn¡¯t see sparks were shooting from the spikes on my back as I generated electricity in my body. After a few seconds I had charged my breath attack. Kira: die you trash. I said and blasted a large tornado clad in lightning. They only had time to turn around and start running before the blade like winds caught them while the electricity stunned and burnt their bodies. When everything had calmed down the only sound was of the people running outside or onto the wall to see the damage of the fight. In the grassland there was a large scar on the land that had ten bodies spread out with it the burnt land, it was frightening to think that their bodies didn¡¯t get destroyed down with that attack. After releasing my attack I landed outside and turned back to human as my group approached me. Melody: are you alright Kira. Kira: don¡¯t worry... I¡¯m fine just... a little... tired. I was gasping for air as I felt large waves a pain all over my body. While I was fighting I hadn''t noticed that some notifications had appeared.

Levi: I have read books with virtual reality as a theme they always include a berserk stat for monsters which increase their abilities. Suddenly the doors burst open and to my complete surprise it was Angela who came in followed by a few others. Angela: well now already recovered enough to sit up. Kira: what are you doing here, isn¡¯t the church still under construction. Relon: you¡¯ve been out cold with a high fever for almost a week, Melody took care of you while we worked on the construction, and the villagers helped out a lot. Angela: I was so surprised when the first thing they did after I appeared was drag me here to have me help you with advanced level healing magic. Kira: so it was that bad. She nodded and took a seat on a chair nearby. Angela: your muscles were partially torn all over your body because of the stress you were put under during your little fight, you need to stop being so impulsive. Kira: well going berserk after seeing Melody captured wasn¡¯t something you could see and stay calm in whatever situation you¡¯re in. She sighed then rubbed her forehead. Angela: I¡¯m just glad you could hold onto your sanity while in that state, Dragons Wrath isn¡¯t something to play around with, if you¡¯re not careful you will attack your allies and everyone one around you. At this time Melody began waking up. When she saw me awake she started crying. Melody: y-your awake hic, I¡¯m so glad hic I smiled then patted her head, ¡®even if she has grown she is still that timid little girl¡¯ I though. Kira: thank you for taking care of me while I was sick. Then I got up slowly as I was still very sore. Angela: you still need to rest a few more days so no work or hunting got it. Kira: yes, I get it I won¡¯t over exert myself. It was then that I noticed the noise outside. When I looked through the window the town was full of people dressed like soldiers accompanied by lizard based creatures. Kira: hey what¡¯s with all these people? Angela: oh them they are part of last year¡¯s gradate class they were on standby in some of the cities back in the kingdoms until you built the church, they range from army soldiers to engineers so this town will grow with security from now on. Alice: you know there are some that have started making a road heading towards the nearest road to connect and set up trade routes with merchants up north, it quite amazing how well prepared they are . Kira: ya, I feel that we were just vanguards for this advance. Angela: you¡¯re not wrong about that, the people outside are close to your levels in strength but they would have a hard time reaching this frontier and surviving, they don¡¯t have the same potential for growth and adaptability as you guys have. We continued talking for a while before they went out, with the increase people the town need to grow more so they were working hard with the new arrivals. I didn¡¯t leave the house, only watched them as more of the new workers lifted the frames for new buildings that were being built. Not knowing what to do to kill time, I pulled out the map Warin gave me and looked through it; the map had been updated a lot by the others as they hunted over the past few days. It showed half a dozen different monster tribe locations including the orc village we destroyed; it seems to have been converted into a hunting camp for the village. As I look my eyes fell on the south were it was empty. Kira: hm the south is unexplored, wonder if their anything worth finding that way. I said and smiled as I think about what the future holds for us. Re:Guardian Chapter 10 It¡¯s been two weeks since I woke up from the effects of the Dragons Wrath. The first week was a pain in the ass. Both Melody and Angela were always keeping me from doing anything. All that left me was a bit of exercise, mainly just stretching since I was also prohibited from strength exercise. This has probably been the most boring week I¡¯ve had since I was born in the world, though at least I wasn¡¯t alone, after a few days the others in my group were also left without much to do even in the now bustling town, it was mainly due to the fact that there were so many new workers there wasn¡¯t work we could do. The town had also been even further renovated after the graduates appeared. The forest was pushed back from the 100 meters we had cleared to over a two kilometers and part was transformed into farmlands. Another new thing was that, through magic, a large stone quarry was made in forest which provided the needed materials for new stone houses, stone roads and other masonry work. After the first week news of the crew that made the road to the human cities came, with them came several caravans of traders as well as dozens of settlers wanting to settle the frontier. This caused the town to swell up and with the quick expansion; the town quickly doubled in size. Thanks to the road connecting Orilon to the other cities adventurous youths raced over to get their chance to stake their claim at fame for killing dangerous beasts, most were novice and arrogant, not know real combat most would probably die if the graduates didn¡¯t do a regular ¡°cleaning¡± of the forest. You could always hear the graduates complain about those kids. ??? : Those annoying brats, just because they came this way doesn¡¯t change the fact they are weak ??? : I agree I want to see some of them face an orc without pissing themselves, hahaha. I¡¯m sure you¡¯re wondering about the other groups, well they stayed in town during the first week after I woke up before leaving; one went east while and the other west. When I asked what happened to the bodies of the group that attacked them my group averted their eyes. Relon: the next day after we beat them and began treating you, a few villagers went to bury the bodies but they found they were gone, there was several drag markings and three sets of footprints. Julie: Nika, Melody and I followed those tracks until we found seven mounds were the bodies were buried but three weren¡¯t there. I frowned, three of them survived a blast like that, at the very least the leader survived, my guess the girl that captured Melody, since she was able to restrain her she must be strong and the serious man with the glasses might have also survived, he was holding Relon off by himself, they seemed stronger than the rest. This gave me a headache, having such dangerous and crazy enemies isn¡¯t good, after thinking a bit I gave up, no use crying over spilled milk right so let¡¯s move on, if it comes to bite back we will deal with it properly. One the start of the second week, I was finally allowed to start hunting and I did just that, to blow off my built up frustration I found a small monster settlement and started ''relaxing'' much to their despair. When I finished my previously sore muscles had relaxed, a group of graduates and villagers appeared. Kira: morning is their some business to do here. Squad captain: yes, we were told by High Priestess Angela to gather a group and send them to this settlement to make an outpost. Kira: ''that woman, she knew I was going to do something like this and planned ahead'' I thought and sighed, ''go ahead the place is clean of any living monsters. He nodded then they spread out and began removing any useful equipment and then started cutting up the bodies. Back in Orilon, my group came over to my place with bored expressions. Luis: *sigh* I wish there was something to do. Alice: you don¡¯t have to tell me that even I''m out of work. Melody: those graduates took most of the work from us; they even built a new smithy. Kira: I think I know why, *sigh* our work in this town is done, now it¡¯s their part, isn¡¯t that right Angela. Suddenly she appeared through the window. Angela: unfortunately yes, vanguard groups are talented fighters, we taught you crafting skills so you could start up a town that is down in the dumps and to provide for yourself but they have trained years to reach this level so they protect and train and to turn a village into a city or even a country, that¡¯s what¡¯s happening here, this town is being turned into a new country, the monster village outposts will become villages then towns as they grow. Kira: so what should we do or where should we go. She then pulls out a large parchment and places it on the table. Angela: this is a special map known [The World Map] it¡¯s a special item most kings of every kingdom have, the gods created these for their heroes. As she opened up there was a magic circle in the center with two circles in the center and eight on the edges. Angela: this map can only be used by those who drip their blood in these circles, Kira and melody put it in the center circles the others on the edge ones. We did as she ordered and when it reached my turn, as I was last, the circle began glowing quickly followed by the parchment itself rolling itself up while glowing brightly. When it stopped shining what lay on the table was a scroll with beautiful red wood painted with golden rims. Angela then opened it until it was covering the table again. The circle was gone now but what was there was a small drawing near the middle. Alice: hm, why is their only a tiny drawing in the center. Angela: that is the explored land that has been mapped in this world. Relon: wait if that is what was draw then how will we use this map if there is such a tiny drawing. Angela: good question, Kira please put you hand on the map and infuse some mana inside of it. Confused I did as she asked, after doing so the drawn part of the map began glowing until a small floating image appeared above the map like a hologram. Angela: now use your mana to expand it, if you want you can just think of it getting bigger or use your hands while spreading them, it will zoom the map to a more appropriate size. I used the latter option and after doing so the tiny drawing became large and we could see in detail. Even the world tree was mapped their and was displayed in 3d. Angela then pointed to a small dot far from the main body of the map. Angela: this small dot here is Orilon, as more maps are drawn out; they are added to this one. We all looked amazed, the dot was almost invisible but after seeing the first we noted hundreds all over circling the main countries. Melody: all these dots are towns. Angela: yes, but only the ones that could successfully build a church and have the area mapped. Kira: so anywhere south of here is completely unexplored lands then. Everyone looked at me then at the map to see what I referred to. Angela: yes but is there a reason for asking. Kira: yes just confirming the direction we will be traveling.'' I said grinning. Luis: we''re going south; there are much stronger monsters that way. Alice: ya what are you thinking. Kira: we are called Vanguards right? They nodded warily to my question. Kira: then why would we explore within the space that anyone could when we have the strength to go into dangerous places to lead exploration of new lands. They didn¡¯t say anything after I made that statement which left an awkward silence; until Angela broke the silence. Angela: um he is right you know the vanguards sent to these far off places we hoped would head outwards instead of circular within the boundary of the last villages. Alice: yes we understand that but we are just worried, I was hoping to train a bit here before going but with Kira like this I¡¯m curtain he might go by himself. Melody: I feel the same would happen. My jaw dropped after hearing their opinions of me, was I that selfish so I asked. All: yes'' they said nodding. Kira: since when have I been selfish Relon: your selfishness is normal everyone is selfish sometimes, ''though the way you trained us with a grin on your face was not normal'' he thought. Levi: ya it¡¯s that your impulsive nature that makes your selfishness a bit stronger when you get interested in something, normally the more dangerous something¡¯s. With each comment they stated made me feel like a rag doll getting punched. Melody: hey d-don¡¯t get like that Kira; we all like how impulsive you are. Ryuu: ya it keeps us on guard all the time. Melody glared at him as he was only making it worst, though he didn¡¯t care much because in his mind this was a golden opportunity to get back a bit at Kira because all of them suffered during Kira''s "training" at the world tree. Angela: OK, now that you know where you''re going you should get ready, oh by the way, there are two commands for the map, they are "World Map Open" which makes it appear and "World Map Close" this will transport it back to us for safe keepings, also to update it the map you need to draw one of the area then place that one over the world map, it will absorb it and update all maps after that. With her final words of wisdom she left. Kira: *sigh* I guess we should start getting ready to leave'' I said getting up and stretching then hide the map with the command, just as she said it vanished Alice: I think a week sound about right for the time we need to get things ready to leave. Luis: sounds good to me I''ve recently found a book on alchemy so I want to try making the health potions. Kira: is there really something like that I know this world is game like but isn¡¯t that to fantasy like to have a potion that heals I instantly. Luis: the potion doesn¡¯t heal I instantly, it raises our rate of recovery for a certain amount of time, though it obviously won¡¯t be grown limbs or anything. Kira: while you guys do that I¡¯m going explore the space to the south and complete this map of the region around Orilon. After that we all headed off to do our own things. After the week was up we all met up, what I found to the south shocked everyone. When I pulled out the world map, already updated, I pulled the map close enough to see the region, obviously it made so we could see through the trees. All over the south we marked cities if many classic fantasy creatures, what¡¯s more surprising is that it didn¡¯t belong to a single species but was a community of monsters of different races. Each species used their races habits to better the community. Some of the creatures that I saw were ones we already killed, orcs, goblins, kobold, gnomes, the gnomes we were able to work with them instead of killing them since they are a peaceful race, some even came to Orilon. What surprised everyone were the dwarves that were their at least until Angela explained that dwarves are one of the form of gnomes rank up into, just like dragons can evolve into a different type monsters rank up into higher class monsters. (A.N. difference between evolve and rank up, in a dragons case they evolve into a different type of dragon, but monster rank up their species changes as a whole, ex. goblin -> hobgoblin then from here they branch out into different species) Alice: so what are we going to do about them? Angela: from the feeling I¡¯m getting they don¡¯t worship any god nor does any one of them favor a citizen of the city so what not go as messenger if you can make a link with them it they can make a terrifying military for the future kingdom Orilon will form. Ryuu: I don¡¯t think they will take us seriously if we just march in and try that. Angela: of cause they can actually talk with a priestess or the god himself, if you take an altar their it would make a temporary domain around it which will let me talk with them, though I can¡¯t teleport their unless it inside a church. Kira: I can see lots of benefits but would having them join endanger our people, some monsters need other races for breeding right. She grinned happily before pointing at the city on the map. Angela: aren¡¯t there many races in that city for them to mate with, if anyone goes there they will be very aware of the dangers I''m sure of that, anyway here, just a blueprint of the altar if you want to make it then do so when your near the city if then good luck on your journey. After handing the blue print to us we talked about if we should do it or not, it was a 7x3 vote for us doing it, so after packing everything we left towards the monster city. Flying over the trees for a few hours we spotted the city and landed then began making the altar which took several hours to finish the structure. It was night time before we finished so we set up a camp. In the morning we finished the details of the altar and when it was done we got a few messages.

Melody: stop crying about what? Kaiser: don¡¯t you dare answer that ques... Angela: he got dumped by an ophidian; a variant of the species which made her more human than snake, he had a crush on way before becoming a god, after that he didn''t interacted with monsters anymore. There was an awkward silence as all ten of us fought hard to keep ourselves from laughing. We lost that war because in our minds we imagined a man, Kaiser in human form, asked her out only to get dumped, against our better judgment we laughed out loud. Angela: ok ok kids stop laughing let¡¯s get this over with, also I suggest you enter and half dragon form, Julie, Nika go with your real forms this will let you hide easier and talking to monsters easier. Julie: what about the language barrier, they speak a different language don¡¯t they. Suddenly a small glow appeared above us then popped.

Levi: why''s that? Julie: well look it says animals as well so we will be able to talk with normal animals. Relon: is there any benefit in talking with them, they can¡¯t even survive in the forest at this point. Julie: of course there is, think of it like this, if we train small insects or mice to be loyal we can have them spy and scout for us, if we need to find out enemy strength in a camp or fort we can send a bird to look through the windows or a spider. Alice: animals trained to spy for us, it could work, but we need smart animal¡¯s not stupid ones, maybe a cat or something. As they talk I was still laying on the ground when I spotted tiny cat like animal next to my head, when I looked at it, it just tilted its head. Elders: so nya what are nya giants doing nya here. Alice: we are explorers for our god. The all the tiny ones looked at us with sparkling eyes filled with admiration. Familiarity with Mini Neko hunting pack increase. The little cat I discovered walked up. Tiny cat: so nya are you nya doing nya with the nya stone block nya behind you. With permission I put my hand next to her which she climbs on, then I up her on my shoulder and tell her to stay below the armor. Elder: Aoi, nya careful if nya need to nya run nya hide Aoi: nya With that she hide below the armor on my shoulder with only her tiny head popping out, and we split up with the dragons going into the city and the others going to the home of the cats. In front of the town were heavily armed orc guards who stopped us when he approached and snorted something which we in turn used our skill to translate.

At the spot stood a tall man well over 2 meters tall with greenish skin, two small horns on his head, wasn¡¯t skinny but not bulky like the orcs which meant it was a different race. Vent: Ogres The moment he said that I knew it was something big; he was the silent type so it took a lot to make him speak. Ogre: Orcs move. He then smashed the leading one that was talking with us, which sent him easily 10 meters away into a tree. Kira: ¡®this guy is powerful; orcs weight easily over 200 kg (440 lbs.) it¡¯s not an easy weight to send flying like that¡¯ I thought. The ogre then bowed in a gentlemen like manner towards us. Ogre: I apologize ¡­ orcs stupid guards ¡­ trouble you, come chiefs want talk. As we walked through the streets, which were all well-made and looked like any other human city, though filled with monsters and not humans or any other race. We took this opportunity to listen in on the conversations of others and learn the language which paid off, walking for more than ten minutes until we finally arrived at a large building ours ability to understand was now over 40%, listening to them it sounded primitive at this point but we could finally understand all of what they were saying and speak at the same degree as well. As we walked inside the building we saw many of the chiefs were sitting around a large table with, surprisingly, a world map open showing the surrounding forests with many of the separate tribes marked down on the magic hologram above it. Then a Dwarves chief addressed us. Dwarf chief: good t¡¯ meet ya been long time since strangers appeared. The Ogre that accompanied us sat in the last empty chair. Ogre chief: quit the small talk and get to main subject. Dwarf chief: fine, well we want know what you want with our city. We then went on to explain our objectives of spreading Kaisers domain as a god and brought out the altar and let Angela explain the finer details. Ogre chief: for god to come find us we might consider Dwarf chief: a god¡¯s blessing make the next generations unique. Kobold chief: even if we do we need ruin shrine to accomplish the feat. Kira: what shrine are you talking about The chiefs looked at me then one zoomed the map out a slight bit until both the city and a large structure to the east was visible. Kobold chief: for monster ruled land to gain god domain shrine is made, altar must be placed inside to make domain. Dwarf chief: these ruins made hundreds years ago for other god, altar destroyed it became ruin. Kobold chief: if you want make domain head to ruin and place altar but¡¯ he made a small pause before continuing,¡¯ the ruins has guardian, undead hero who served old god, you must kill before you can accomplish this.

Kira: like this one. When he looked and saw her he nodded. Ogre: yes, this one baby but hunter, large ones are more dangerous Kira: large ones, the largest I¡¯ve seen is as big as my thumb Dwarf: that¡¯s another baby they seem older by year but are just a few months older. Kobold: biggest I¡¯ve seen is as big as a dragon hatchling of three months, guess just as strong. Kira: Aoi is that true She just nodded and as I hid her in the armor space I bowed to the chiefs. Kira: thank you for your time we need to hurry our friend might be in danger. With that all of us rush out with the chiefs behind. As soon as we reach outdoor our wings spread and we fly off to the east.
