But he hates when we call him that, always saying that his feelings are pure and he is searching his other half... by dating with many girls. But I should mention that despite "search", he''s not a bad guy. -"Mornin'' " Girl with red wavy hair. Despite her apearance her name is Yuki "Japanese Beauty" York, and she is half actually. -"......." Yeah thats me, Roy Fort, sitting at the corner by the window with a dying face. I don''t have any noticeable feature''s. NO I don''t have feminine face!!! It''s normal, NORMAL you hear me??!!! With a straight shoulder-lenght black hair. And I won''t ever agree that I have feminine face!!!! -"Hey what''s the sour face Roy?" Randy as usually sits in front of me -"You didn''t sleep again? I know that release of GAO is near, but it''s still whole month, y''know." Yuki comes to us. Right, there was one time when they just told on TV about it, I was so excited that I didn''t sleep at all that day. -"Yeah the same face as that day, Akaten!" Yes that''s my nickname after that day. When I got to school, after sleepless night, I was so tired that I slept whole day getting bad marks on all lessons. After that everyone in class started to call me "Princess failure" with a grinning face. Bastards, there was hell when I came home, you know. Then Yuki, who just moved from Japan, called me a failure in japanese, and that''s how "Akaten" nickname was born. You ask why "Princess"? Because that''s another or, to be exact, previous nickname. From my childhood, when I played a princess role in a play. This is the worst day of my life!! ********************** Month later Glorius Adventure Online started but not for me. I was in hell known as "Study", studying every failed and almost failed subject. Ofcourse everyone in class started too, from them I''m learning every little known details since company that made the game did not disclosed information about it. All they said that it''s full dive virtual reality game with fantasy setting and other such information such as age restriction being 14 years old and other minor details that I don''t really care. BTW should I mention that my classmates are bastards that almost didn''t share any information? Oh well. I handed my printout with grades to her and wait for my judgment. I see view like in those movies where people enter in "hyperspace" or "Warp" like state. White dot''s are flying past me st high speed creating long lines and then light blinds me. As I open my eyes I see tranquill medieval scenery. Small river not far from me, old house that made from stone with straw roof and endless plains. Aren''t I supposed to create a character before entering a game? I hear a hoarse voice from the house. -"Come in adventurer!!" I do as I told and enter the house. Inside is unusually bright and there''s a furniture that is totally from another era. What era would you think?? Well, go to nearest shop and you''ll see. At the table sit''s old man in a tuxedo and write''s something. -"Stop standing like a statue, sit down" Once again I do as I''m told. -"Em.. aren''t I supposed to create a character before entering a game?" Old man stopped writing and raised his head. -"You are in creation space" -"Oh, okay?" -"Here you go" He handles me piece of old paper.. NOT!! There appeared a sci-fi screen before me with shapes of different races and empty box. Really, what''s the point of outside look? -"Enter your name first" -"Okay... how about Troy?" -"Accepted. There''s 11 races in total, for now. Others can be opened at a latter time. You can change race only if you''re first who discovered it or by paying a fee." I started browsing the list of available races. As usually there is: humans, dwarves, elves, gnomes, beastkin, orcs. I complained. -"Isn''t it only 6 races and their variations?" -"Even variations are counted as other races" I spotted "list" button on screen and press it. Images of races are gone and list appeared:

Some says that they are mutation of beast tribes. But they live in harmony with beast tribe and aren''t discriminated. In terms of specialty, they are like humans ¨C average in all." -"Oh now I get it" Since I played many games before, I can assume what other races are. Now for a main question. Since it''s a fantasy, it must be that right? -"Who is the best among them in magic?" -"That depends on what type of magic you want to use and type of job" -"If I can guess right then let''s call it classic DPS type mage" -"Then it''s Forest Elves, Cat Tribe, Sky dwarves. Humans and gnomes are average." Hmm being elf mage is not bad, maybe... -"What races of them can start in Crystaria?" -"Humans, Forest Elves and Cat Tribe." Let''s see, humans are for the last so.. -"Show me as elf race" What I see is a dazzling blonde with pointy ears. Is it male or female? And question pops in my mind: Can I even see this as a man? No way. Denied!! -"Next, Cat tribe" What stands before me is a stylish man. Black hair, green slit pupils, black ears and fluffy black tail. Who hates the cats? No one!! -"I will go with this race" -"Alright. You can customize color of you hair, eyes, ears and tail. There are different types of ears and tails." -"Then... show me eyes with golden color." Color changed from green to golden. Wow that''s so cool!! -"Great" -"Your starting point is Crystaria, Almaz Kingdom, I presume?" -"Yes" -"Good luck, may Sartania bless you" My conscious begins to fade away.... I open my eyes and see another medieval scenery. No, to be precise it''s a fantasy scenery. That is sooo awesome. Even real life is not that colorful. -"Hey noob, don''t stand in a middle of street" -"Oh sorry" I step aside and look around, there is a small space between houses, so I walk there. -"Awesome feelings" I''m kind of light and have better balance, I guess. Must be cats traits. But I think it''s better not to try falling from higher places. When I though of cat traits I remembered claws and my nails started to grow longer and I can move my tail! -"Cool" Well then, next is my status. In those grains of information I gained were voice commands that can be utilized, basic fighting tips and what to do to obtain basic profession. -"Status"

Oh and my name is Bran, and this silent fellow is Sark. So what do you want to know?" When he introduced himself and his partner above them appeared name tag. Oh I now I get it. -"I want to find magic teacher." -"Too bad you don''t want to be a soldier hahaha" I don''t know whats so funny, let''s to ignore it. "You need to go to magic institute then." I already don''t like this name, it reminds me of past hell. -"Can you see four towers there? That is the place" He points in a direction left of the castle. -"Yes I can see them, thank you." -"You''re welcome. If you change your mind and decide to become a soldier, you can ask any guard on direction." -"No thanks, bye." I start to run away. I bet he just wants to recruit me to lessen his job. Dream on! As I turn around the corner, I already start to breath heavely, so I stop to respire. After 20 seconds I started to walk. I guess my stamina is too low and roughly 100m is my limit for now. After awhile I start to run again, again and again. After 20 minutes of running I stand before institute and I gained my first skill.

Chapter 02 - Path to Magician II Path to Magician II I enter the massive doors. I can see round hall with statues of mages. Must be someone great, otherwise no one will make statue of gold. I can see counter with two receptionist lady''s. No answer... Knocked again and this time sleepy voice answered. -"Come in!" I walk in. Inside this room is dark and only light source is dim lamp on the desk. There sits man and wipes his eyes. I was right he was sleeping. From the looks of it he is around 35 years old. He claps and the room becomes brighter. I come closer to his desk. -"What do you want?" Not a friendly type I guess. -"I want to become a mage!" I have a feeling that this is the only thing I talk about. He looked at me with a scorn eyes. -"Can''t help." Eh? Thought so. Well nothings free even in this world. I go to the 2 receptionist lady''s to about library. Fortunately library is in this building on 3rd floor. Sprint on the stairs and here I am. There is only one door on whole floor. Past the door what awaits me is a three-storeyed library with thousands of books. I bet I can take any random book and it will be about magic. There''s a librarian girl here, so it''s safer to ask. -"Hello, are you a first time here?" -"Yes, my name is TroyI need books about magic. Preferably begginer level." -"Name''s Ann, first you need library card. It will cost you 10 copper coins." -"Here you go." -"Now you need to personalize this card by drop of blood, here you go" She gave me card and needle. I puncture my finger and se that I got damage for 1 HP. Nevermind it I touch card with punctured finger and card started to shine a little. After a second light dissapeared and I can see my name on card. -"Now that you have a card, you can read all you want 24 hours a day. Library is never closed." -"Then why do I need a card?" -"First: card automatically register books that you read so that you can see if you already read this book. Second it register any book that you take outside and automatically teleport them after a week. This function is for those who travel. Third function is called "Personal Library". You can read all books that you already read and it categorized by theme. This is basic card that can store up to 50 books. To get next rank card you need to read 50 books in total. And lastly, library have protective spell that prevent anyone without library card to take books." -"Travel feature is cool. And about the books..." -"Come here" She walked into one of the rows. -"You can browse this bookshelf for beginner material about magic. Further is more advanced material if you need." -"Thanks for helping me." -"It''s my work" She bowed lightly and walked to her counter. I started to look for books titles. ¡°Advanced Magic Theory¡±, ¡°History of Famous Magicians (Book 1 of 4)¡±, ¡°Adventure of Magicians Party¡±..., ¡°Magic for Dummies (Book 1 of 2)¡±. I decided to read this suspiciously named book, both of them to be precise. Back in a hall there was 2 rows of tables. I sat at the one closest to Ann. It seems this library not so popular, because except for me and Ann there was no one. I started to read volume 1.

After awhile I finally get to some useful, but still noob information.
Magic Elements and their Characteristic There are 7 elements in total, they are: Fire; Water; Earth; Wind; Light; Dark and Non-Elemental. Every element can do varies functions such as attacking, defending, healing, support. Depending on purpose and use, the same element can be trained in all directions. Depending on what magic magician uses he can be named differently (example: Priests for healing magic, Enchanter for support, etc.). Every element, except non-elemental, have affinity that can be cultivated by using this particular element. The more you use, for example fire, the more affinity you gain with fire the more damage you can do...
Reading all of it really hurts my head, but I tell myself that it''s all for a game and continue to read. With such thoughts 6 hours passed and I finally done with this book. Despite looking like normal book for about 300-400 pages, in reality it''s about 100 with others just some pictures that sometimes even don''t belong to theme of reading content. I guess they too needed to fill it with something. As I wanted to start reading next book my stomach made particular noise, notifying me that it wants to eat. So I take ¡°Bread Slice¡± and ¡°Water Bottle (small)¡± and that do the trick. One of the good things about this bottle is despite it saying small it''s actually:

Yes it''s actually magic item. From information I know, only medium sized bottle was found and it can contain up to 100 liters of water. As my stomach stopped rumbling, second book was already opened. Another 6 hours passed and this useless book finished. Why useless? Because there was nothing important in it. At least there was one good thing.

My first stat upgrade. It''s good but too much time consuming. At least they somehow made that 1 hour in real world is equal 4 hours in virtual world. But beside that real body is in sleep trans, so I can play for about 14 hours in real life today and that will be 2 days and 8 hours. And again I''m hungry, meal time~. I guess It''s every 6 hours. 3 books to go. What do I read next? After thinking for awhile I decided on book called ¡°Compound Magic¡±. Another 6 hours later. In short this books tells about combining 2 or more elements into 1 magic. Again almost nothing new for those who played some games. One particular part is that non-elemental magic is combination of every element. But despite that non-elemental magic is called weakest magic of all. Mostly because there''s not many attack spells and they are weak comparing to other element. It''s actually so tiring to read this boring books. Next book that attracted my attention is called ¡°Category of Magic¡±. Story short, magic can be categorized as: Tool magic ¨C magic tools like my water bottle. General magic ¨C all basic magic that is learned at the beginning. Area magic ¨C magic that cover area about 10m. Siege magic ¨C powerful magic that can''t be used inside dungeons or houses, used during siege and covers area up to 100m wide. Disaster level magic ¨C magic that can turn whole city to dust! The last, disaster level magic, is unconfirmed because no one used such magic in ages. The only reminder is some old books that can''t be trusted since they were wrote long before oldest institute was formed 1500 years ago! I thought so, magic is awesome! As my tension started to grow, I again stared at bookshelf. One more to go. But before that I''m mentally and physically exhausted so I decided to make little break and stretch my body. There''s a window on second floor so I decided to go there. View is not that impressive since I''m not that high and many buildings obstructing my view. But I can see street and people there. I didn''t gave a thought when was running here, but there''s really quite a lot different races. Even though it''s ¡°just a small part¡± of all, as developers says. Sexy dark elves, bombastic cow tribe females and others are all pleasure to male eyes. Back to body stretching, I decided to make a round trip on this floor and because it''s boring to just walk, I decided to search some book to read. After round trip I found 2 books that picked my interest. One was ¡°Stats and their description¡± and the other one ¡°Calamity Bringer¡±. Since I don''t know if non-magic books are counted I decided to read both of them.
Stats and their description Every living being can use magic called ¡°Window¡±. This magic projects window in your mind. It can be equipment, or bag or any other. In this particular book we will talk about ¡°status¡±. Starting from basics: Health point (HP) ¨C your life. If it ends you''re dead. Mana point (MP) ¨C your mana capacity. If it''s empty you can''t use active magic. Strength ¨C power of you physical attack. Additionally give you 5HP per 1STR. Stamina ¨C your defence stat. Give you 10HP per 1STA. Agility ¨C affect your speed, both physical and mental. In case of mental speed it reduces cool down of skills. Intellect ¨C power of your magic attack. Give you 10MP per 1INT. Wisdom ¨C affects your regeneration time of HP and MP. Give you 5MP per 1WIS. Luck ¨C affects many aspects of life. Monster drop rate, critical rate etc. Leadership ¨C ability to command group of people. That was all of the basic stats. Secondary stats affect different aspects of many professions. You can gain these stats by gaining profession or through hard work. Toughness ¨C influence defence stat. Fate ¨C influence healing rate. ¡­...........
There''s more to this stats but the more noticeable stats are:
Fire Affection ¨C your fire spells are stronger. This stat can go over 100%. .........
Except for non-elemental magic, every element have affection. The same is with resistance, but with added ¡°physical resistance¡±. ~Ting~
