"I accept" Chapter 2 Despair 2 days Later The Age of Despair Understanding Since departing from Bryalshire Palace I decided on gathering some information about this world to get a clear understanding of the events that have taken place. I learned from a mysterious looking old man in black that there exist 6 races Demi-Humans, Humans, Demons, Elves, Dwarfs, Beastmen, Dragonics, Half Giants, when I asked him what happened to full dragons and giants he laughed and said ¡°Ha I haven''t saw any of them since The Age of Despair.¡± When I asked him to explain he said there was a war that happened 150 years ago where the Allied Forces of Edhest battled the combined armies of the Demon King and Undead Lord, known collectively as The Age of Despair, a conflict that raged over all the continents. http://i.imgur.com/KBgJBx3.jpg[/img] In the beginning of the war the arrogant elves attacked the Undead first with the just cause of serving their goddess by getting rid of unnatural beings with their powerful holy magic the elves had no chance of being defeated but that wasn''t the case at all. Instead they had an overwhelming defeat time and time again into the elves enlisted the help of the humans why would the humans help the elves you may think when the elves think themselves superior to the humans simple they were promised magic items gold and land in exchange for their services humans have no end to their greed. With the human race numbers the undead had no chance of victory after losing their king they were hunted for sport on the brink of extension into their savior appeared the Undead Lord Shade with his powerful magic he was able to prolong their deaths for another month but that was all the time he needed to convince the Demon King to ally with him. With the combined might of the Demon King''s Army and the Magic Of the Undead Lord they were an unstoppable force they were able to push back the elves and humans helping the undead reclaim their lands and the Demon King Gaining useful allies and deadly enemies. The other races 4 races paid the Upstart Demon King and Undead Lord no mind into on that dark day the Undead Lord was able to use his magic to corrupt the Dragon Emperor Alan turning him into an undead dragon under their control luckily for the dragons before the whole kingdom was turn into mindless zombies some of the dragons were out on missions or away from the palace to escape their fate. The remaining few went to the Demi-Humans who''s king was a close friend of the Dragon Emperor with his help they sent messages to all the other Rulers and created an allied force to stand against the undead and demons once and for all. Yet Even with the combined power of all the races the Demon King and Undead Lord''s military strength was too powerful therefore the Giants were the first to fall to corruption out of the Allied forces. The Allied forces were being beat every battle the people were outraged angry and scared at the same time due to this a Hero was born Alexander The Chosen he who came from another world picked by the gods themselves with their blessings he was able to slay all enemies in his path leading the allied forces to victory. The Elves and Dwarfs are still at each others throats and the Humans are allied with all the races expect demon they still can''t get over their defeat. The Undead mostly lurk in caves and dungeons while The Demons rule the deserts preferring to stick to themselves. Chapter 3 Impossible (Back to the present) I made my choice after hearing of how powerful The Undead Lord Shade, was with magic I''m certain that I could also become a great magus it would suit me the most since I don''t want to swing around a heavy sword like an idiot. Plus I had a fear of needles ever since I was a child when I imagine getting hit by a sword it would be like getting stabbed by an oversized needle why should I risk hurting myself in combat when I could use a summon instead to tank the hits. First plan of action is asking this old guy where I could learn magic and finding a way to make some money wearing these clothes will only draw attention I don''t really need. ¡°After hearing the tale of the great war and how powerful Shade was how would I go about learning magic?¡± ¡°Hm interested in being a Spell Caster eh well I won''t stop you¡± ¡°You have two options you could either join the mages guild and test yourself to see if you have the ability to use magic or bind an Elemental Spirit to yourself¡± ¡°What exactly is an Elemental Spirit if I may ask?¡± ¡°Spirits are mostly used by Shaman''s since they''re the primary source of all Shaman''s powers you see most Shaman''s enter contracts with a spirit either by the spirit willingly choosing to or the caster overpowering the spirit resulting with the spirit having no choice but to follow the caster commands.¡± ¡°Therefore even if you aren''t talented in magic you can still become one by defeating a spirit in battle yet I would be careful since if you bind an evil spirit to yourself you may die or go insane.¡± ¡°I would advise against this practice since it is looked down upon by the holy church and all elven kingdoms.¡± Binding myself to a spirit huh well from what I can tell it sucks I all ready have two in my head constantly having nightmares I would prefer not to get a third. Speaking of spirits I wonder why they have been so quiet these days could it have something to do with this summoning I''ll think over this later for now I''ll get as much information I can. ¡°In this world how exactly would I make money?¡± ¡°You can earn copper silver and gold coins through joining the adventures guild doing quests for money or joining the army of a kingdom¡± ¡°My personal choice getting a job as a blacksmith maybe an enchanter you could even get rich off a dungeon if you''re strong enough to defeat the monsters inside¡± Hmm dungeons eh it''ll be a good training ground plus getting rich on the side isn''t bad either might as well ask him about guilds. ¡°What are guilds?¡± ¡°Guilds are formed by a group of people who share the same goal they help each other out to achieve what one single person cannot do by himself.¡± Even if I don''t have talent to be a Magus In order to join the Mages guild it won''t stop me from joining the adventures guild as a backup plan. ¡°Where could I find a map exactly?¡± The old man thought about it for a bit then said. ¡°If you head north to the guardsman post you can get your first one for free if you lose it then you''ll have to pay a fee for the second map.¡± ¡°Thanks for answering my questions old man I''ll be heading to the Mages guild now¡± Before I left he said something that puzzled me. ¡°I wish to aid you decadent of Proserpina and Aidoneus in your quest accept this¡± The old man reached into his pocket and handled me a giant snow white egg with black markings around it it gave me a strange feeling like I saw it before yet I couldn''t pinpoint where. When I entered the mages guild I saw what I assume to be elves with angelic features and pointy ears besides them there were a couple of demi-humans with normal human features other than their weird hair or eye colors sometimes both. The colors of the walls in the room were painted in gold and blue while the dining tables were long and looked it it could fit 15 people per table. The atmosphere became gloomy when I entered the room most of the elves and demi-humans stopped what they were doing and started staring at me they started to whisper to each other. ¡°Tsk tsk how dare a meat head human step foot into the mages guild a commoner at that¡± ¡°I doubt he has the ability to use magic if he does novice at best.¡± ¡°What''s with the egg that guy''s holding?
