《The Unexpected Journey》 Volume 1: Prologue Prologue ---------------+++++---------+++++------------- ''Where is this place?'' He thought as he was floating in a dark space, surrounded by nothingness. He was in a state of half conscious and half not. It was like when it was just a second before falling asleep or a moment before waking up. He stayed like that for a while before he could gather his thoughts properly. He started to remember: who he was, what he was and how his life was until now. As far as he could remember, he was nothing out of ordinary... Blast that! Just thinking about it makes me piss up! He had lived a life striking to be an ordinary person, or at least in his standard: an average person! But failed utterly... You think he is weirdo huh? Well, Well let me tell yo... Ah! You, the one over there have some interesting ideas! He is a specialist with some abnormal talent or power that making him can''t be an ordinary man? Interesting idea indeed! You have my praise! And you there, you are wondering if he had some quizzical personality or some mental problems...a trauma that leads him to mistrust others for examples, then gradually turned into a freak. Well, a common headstart for lots of movies and books, even in real life too. This kind of main character usually got many supports or love- hate sympathy or whatever of his or her audients. Even I like these kinds of main character, too! Ouch, look like I got side track, huh? Let''s us return to the story... ...Any way, he was anything but that. He was a very normal person, at least without power or any outstanding talent... Well, it''s an understatement if I put it like that. Ahem, let''s be honest. That guy, that Peacock guy was no good. And I mean it: no good... He was bad at almost everything: Bad grade in all subjects, bad at sport- any team have him on their one, be bewared! Bad luck: easily step on a rock on a super high quality and clean plastic road and slipped is no stranger to him...or maybe he is just clumsy? Well, excuse with mouth we can make but while we discuss this, it''s seem he got stuck in that newly made levitator over there... Well it''s quiet sad, huh? We can''t deny his unluckiness. Well, there are still a lot things he was bad at like cooking, crafting, gardening( his aunt yelled...told him so and he indeed hated worms, if you was wondering how one could "bad" at things such at gardening)...he''s bad at socialite, either its from his shyness or his inferior complex to other people. He should just shut him of in his room and played game like a loser? Yup, he wished he could. But his aunt will throw him out on the streets mercilessly and before that, playing game huh? Yes he did played, and like loser iOne day, Red Ivory, bearer of the nickname "Useless Peacock", granted by his fellow schoolmates was choosen by a sage in another world to inherited all his knowledges about magic before he die. Red agreed. He thought he could go home after that but insteed he somehow ended up in the sage''s world. Follow Red in his unexpected journey and his unexpected companion on gaining power to go back home. ndeed... What do I mean? Well, he sometimes played with his cousin, a boy five years younger than him, and he lost, lots of time...all the times. He did won before so he knew the taste of glory and he longed for it, but those time that he won against his cousin were...when he was nine and his cousin was...four. His feeling at those time was... beyond desperation... At some point his cousin said that it''s boring to play with him and stopped inviting him to play with. Be it luck or not, soon his cousin got sent to a full time school and only back once a year. Of course only him in the family met his cousin once a year. His uncle and aunt met him every week. Sometimes, he wondered if his cousin hated him, or worst, looked down on him...too. ... Even I can''t give any comment about him that kindly comforting him without it''s screaming out his uselessness! Sorry guy~ And that''s not all. Usually these kind of legendary no good type of person would get jeered at whatever he does that caused the attention of other. Yes, he got that too, of course! It just that he had it a " tiny bit worse than the other". There is actually one other thing about him that kicked him out of the "average" tag that he so longing for...or maybe it did helped him raise to the average standard that he hoped, balancing his no-goodness with this. Well, he would never acknowledge this quality of him though. A single good quality about him. And unfortunately he hated it. His look!! He stand out, absolutely standing out. He had really fine look. Yes, he is a pretty boy. And that''s is another understatement again. How should I describe him to give you all a good image of him? Uhm~ Let''s talk about his lineage. Yup! His father was a half Indian half French singer with a very handsome look, good built and sexy voice. His mother was super model and used to have a contrast with Victoria''s Secret before the affairs she had with his father. She was an angel, both in her features and body. You got the ideas now, right? He got some really high class genes, huh? But he doesn''t like his look. Why? Of course he doesn''t hate his parents. He adored them, alot. Despite the fact they died in a plant accident when he was only five. He loves his parents, in every details of their appearance and their personality. That''s also the reason he hate himself. He thought he doesn''t look like either his father or mother. Though the others who see him wouldn''t think so, if they were close to him they would sing out how he looked like them so much. Unfortunately, he didn''t have anyone like that though. Even his aunt and uncle are just someone who taken care of him because he was their blood relative... He had his reason for his strange ideas of not looked like his parents: Reason 1: his face resembles both of his father and mother. In other words, a perfectly full mix. He doesn''t have any features that inherited directly from them but rather a mixture of both. For example, his father trademarks Indian sharp and piercing France blue eye was mixed with his gentle and pretty bird like eyes of his mother. His nose is not as high as his father but also not as cute as his mother... This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience. Reason 2: same as the above reasons, still it got separated because he considered it to be an even more Earth shattering injustices than the former. His reasoning for this is: '' Curse all the god and goddess out there who created my appearances! What kind of bloody sin did I committed to have you all take away all the features my poor dear parents supposed to give me?'' Ahem. Well, his output may make no senses but it''s actually reasonable, you see... He was one of the very very rare case who doesn''t inherits any of his parents or relative''s "coloring"... His father had blue eye and black hair and striking handsome features. An interesting combination that given him a mystery aura which greatly aided his career of a singer. A side note, his voice is great too. His mother is a light blond hair beauty with light honey skin and hazel eyes. She got that skin because his great grandmother was an African. But that skin was greatly lighten of after a few generation. Aside from that, her other features was taken from his grandparents who was from England. They might have some Asian Gen though. But he neither have his father blue eyes, black hair or his mother''s hazel eyes and light blond hair. And apparently he also doesn''t have the his grandparents from both side''s colors too. And you should know from a linage like that, he would have a lot of possible hair, eyes, or skin colors to taken from. Be the hair is black, blond or brown; the eyes are black, blue, hazel, brown; the skin is brown, white or maybe even very dark if he took the Gen directly from his great grandmother, though the odds is low, all of which he could have from them. Well, the funny thing is even with all those possibility which we may considered at plenty with the considering of " a mix" between some element, haha... He didn''t have any of those supposed colors. He had pure white hair, red eyes and very very pale skin. Yes. He is an albino. Funny, huh? ... I don''t know about you but I find it funny. And no, it''s not like I find joy in other people''s misery or anything. Yes, you can trust my words. ''Why?'' He thought. ''Just why does the super rare odds at 1/500000 just had to land on me for godsake?''. He usually thought as such. All in all, he hated his appearance, both his look and his albino things. His looks that supposed to be his prize, proof for he is his parent''s blood and bleed son, but it''s not. Not only being a sore spot for his whole life is not enough, it caused him plenty of troubles too. He can''t handle bright light. He had its worst on summer, he almost didn''t step out of the house because of the risk of getting a sunburn. When he was very young, he got problems with eyesight too. Though with the help of treatments, he is fine now though you couldn''t call his eyesight good. All in all, even after all that, he knew he is still considered a pretty boy. Of course he knew, with all the stare he got on the street. He stands out too much after all. And in his school be got its worst. Everyone knew him, everywhere he goes others turned to look at him. And it''s even worse when the other knew about his incompetents. He hated comments such as "All he have is his look", " Worthless Peacocks", "A disgrace to male population", etc to his deepest core of himself. As you can guess, he doesn''t have friend. The more he grown up, the more he felt lonely. His supposed family just seemed to drift further and further a way. At some point, he realized the reason for that was mostly his fault. ''At least, at first it was my fault...'' As his conscious regained more and more thanks to the little recollection of his life, just like any sane people would, he realized the problem he somehow gotten into. All around him was darkness. He realized he wad somehow floating inside there and as how he knew he was floating, well, because neither his legs or hands could feel anything solid. He had thought it was just another weird dreamless dream and just relaxed, waiting for his alarms to wake him up. But, his life just had to make its big turn today and right then. Be the cause for it was just his normal disagreeable luck or...the massive amounts of luck that the world had owned him till today just had to come back and overwhelmed him, making him die choking in it... Well, whatever. And he heard it. A voice. The small and faraway voice almost like a whispers resounded through the space. In this eerily quiet place, that voices was like a savior to him. (He sure is weird. If it were me, I would creeped out in a situation like thi-ouch! Okay! I will shut up! Don''t throw things at me!). He tried to make out the voice by concentrating hard. He could hear it now. "Thee who heard this one''s voice. Thee whose this self have been seeking and waiting for ever since forever. Thee whose existence had been established yet? Hear my voice and answer this humble self? Are thee answer my dying self or not? "...Yes?" He doesn''t rememeber what he was thinking at that time or why did he answer that voice. But he regreted it now. The voice and the strange event that changed his life forever. -------------++++++++--------------+++++++++----- Hello everyone~ This is one of my stories that I am and will post on this site to share with everyone~ I hope you guys will have as much fun reading as I am writting it! Last time, I couldn''t because my phone isn''t suitable for this site. But I got a new one now! Muhahahahaha! Love you forever, my dear sisters! Chapter 1: Summoning Magic! He walked out of his house. It was current 5 am, the sun still hasn''t risen yet. ''Perfect!'' He thought. Pulling up his hoodie, he started jogging to the park. After passing some people, some youngster around his age, he got annoyed. He took out his mp3 and put the headphones on to completely separate himself from the outside world. He jogged, jogged and jogged about half an hour before taking out his best badass looking sunglasses to put on. The sun was going to rise soon and the dawn is nice but he didn''t bother to take a risk looking at the sun. ''I want to use these eyes for the rest of my life.'' Arriving at the park, he sat on a bench to take a rest. He started to think about his school life and as soon as he did, he stopped thinking about it, just as abruptly as when he started to think about it. It''s not like he hates school, well, a bit...but not that serious. The main point was that he hated himself for being so pathetic. '' I really was so useless that even I want to laugh at myself. ''Thinking that, he sighed. He heard a muffled sound sounded like a little boy''s voice. ''There he is!'' he saw him. In the bush behind the bench he currently sitting on, a boy was sat bawling on the dirty ground yard. He was mumbling something while making a funny face. A face that just about to broke into tears but gravely endured it. He looked at that face and then to his mouth. He knew what the little boy was currently mumbling about and the reasons behind that. Maybe there were some differences between this little boy''s situation and himself but as least, in him he felt the similarity, his childhood and this boy. He stood up and walked to the boy. He sat down next to him and scanned through the kid. In an instant he found out the reason why the boy was in distress. For some reason, the boy was going about bare foots and ended up with a wood thorn sticking to his left feet. It wasn''t very deep but still enough to bleed out some blood. And to an adult, this might just be a bit sting but to a child this small, it might be a very scary experience. The child had then noticed him. He looked up at the person whole face was covered in his white hoodie jacket. He instantly remembered the teaching of his mother: never talk to stranger; scream out for help when seeing someone suspicious...and... "HELP ME! KIDNAPPER! THERE''S ARE A KIDNAPPER TRYING TO TAKE M-UHM~" The sudden screaming of the child almost stopped his heart before he managed to shut him up. ''Damn it, that''s why I hate kid!'' he thought as he took off his hood revealing his appearances to the child. The child stopped struggling and stared at him in awe, forgetting his mother''s words completely. The big guy that he thought as some sort of evil person trying to whisk him away like his mother used to mention whenever he was not behaving properly turning out to be a very cool big brother! He had shoulder length hair that tied into a pony tail and it was as white as snow. He also looked very cool and handsome like the prince in a Disney Cartoon he had watched the day before. The boy with his mouth lightly opening reached out toward that person''s hair to tough it only to be stopped by its owner''s hand grasping his. The boy glanced back at the big brother with pouting face, obviously stating: ''Why can''t I tough it?'' but instantly taken back. The little boy stared at him for a bit. He was ordinary wearing a white cap along with his jacket hood but it was knocked up a bit while he was struggling trying to silent the child. Now that this boy had finally got the chance to look at his appearances clearly, all hell break loosely yet again. "GYAAAAAAaaaaaaa~ It''s a demon! Help me! Grandma~ Help meeeeeee~ Uwaaaaaaaaaaa~" He was startled by the boy sudden outputs and pondered if he should just left this irritating kid alone and left. It won''t be good if someone passed by jump in some kind of annoying conclusions and he ended up in some shitty situation again. He fully aware of his more than enough sorry luck. Still, the way this stupid kid reacted after he looked at his face kinda pissed him up. And before he knew it. He had went to try to shut him up again. The boy screamed for all his worth. Forgetting his hurt leg, he tried to crawl away from the devil grasp. He scared. The big brother he had thought was cool turning out to be a demon! His grandma''s tale and few things he picked up on TV stated that demon and other devils have scary eyes as red as blood! And this devil before him really has his eye Red! He is Evil! That was what''s going on the boy mind. But for him, it''s different. ''What''s with this kid?'' ''Why the hell does this kid keep running away from him like he was some kind of plagues?'' and ''Why the bloody hell did he call him "demon"?'' were what occupied his mind. Especially the last one. He had many nick name and he hated it but this was the first time he was called a "demon", and to his grief, this was the coolest nick he has ever gotten. And this sobered him up a bit. He stopped confront the child because it seemed to scare him more and instead decided to calm him down first. He thought about what about him that could scared the child to this extend and to his grief. He could only thought of one. His face twisted a bit at the corner of his lip. He stayed where he was and used his most gentle as he could managed as a voice to sooth the child. "Come on. Don''t be scare. I''m not a bad person. Also not a demon" - He unintentionally put more force in his voice at that part, obviously the fault of his complex about his "coloring" " Even though my eyes are red, I''m not a demon. Don''t be scare. You''re hurt, right? Let''s me see where it''s hurt and I''ll help you, okay?" That was his best gentlemanly act as he could managed. The voice he used was so soft that he could swore he didn''t even know such a voice in him exist. And it''s enough to make him shivers in disgust of himself. Still, it''s done a good job. Unauthorized use of content: if you find this story on Amazon, report the violation. The boy stopped screaming and tweaking and looked up at him cautiously. He tried to put on his best gentleman smile that he prayed to whatever gods out there would not turning out weird... And he should have known it. Yes, he reminded himself again. All god had already forsaken him. Praying to them only serve them the means to cause him more damage, including this time. The boy had seen his smile and stunned for a second before bursting out laughing like his life depended on it. In between, he even managed to cackle "...Funny, hehe...ya face...hehe.." He grimaced. As least the boy stopped shooting, if someone happen to passed by, he won''t be charged at "child abusing" or some other crazy things. And again, he sighed at his luck. The boy was still laughing but seemed to calm down a bit. He came nearer and lifted the child up and put him on his laps making him yelp out a bit in surprise. He quickly pats the boy''s to reassure him he is safe. Fortunately, the boy seemed to quite down and only stared up at him curiously. He put a another sigh but in relieve this time. He was a reader addicted. It can''t be happened with his situations. And he quietly thank a certain Japanese manga he had read, especial the part when the MC was taking care of a child. The way he comforted the child just now was from that. He glad that his luck didn''t screw him up like always this time for this is actually the first time ever he tough a child! After he had finished checking the boy''s foot and other parts for any other possible injures, he took out a small bag in his jacket pocket. From there he took out a small band-aid suitable for the boy''s feet as well as some medical cotton to wipe the dirt out of it. At first, the boy was reluctant in allowed this stranger to tough him but after a good five minutes of clumsy insisting and sweet talking (which happened to be some pick up line he learned from some other book and TV show) did the boy let him treated his wound. Finishing all that, he still couldn''t get away. To his grimace, he couldn''t resist the boy''s puppy eyes and his pitiful lonely aura which annoyed him so much because of its similarities to a certain someone''s childhood. Well, to make it short, he was forced to play with the boy until he couldn''t take it anymore, which was three hours later. He had to literally begging the boy to let him go home and to his humiliate showing the boy his tearful eyes (because of bright sunlight in summer) to which the boy mistaken that he was crying and let him go, not before giving the boy his cool badass sunglasses as souvenir though. Of course the boy didn''t believe (or didn''t understand) when he explained he wasn''t crying. He finally able to go back home, though without a sunglasses this time. He certainly looked like a demon now, or maybe a drunkard, or even a drug- addict who still didn''t had his fill today. His step was uneven and sometimes he looked like he had just a second before kissing the ground. Actually, his case of albinism was a very fortunately one. He had only a few draw back when he was very young and almost all of them was fixed. His family was rich after all. Thanks to that, he didn''t have to suffer eyes related problems like many other fellow albinos. In fact, sometimes he wondered if that was where all his luck went to and thus leaving him bared with misfortune now. Still, without his sunglasses in this burning bright light of summer even if it wasn''t noon yet, he still couldn''t bear it, not with his sheltering life-style he had long used to. Sometimes, he ironically thought he is just like a vampire. Thus, with some exposing body part had turned pink, bloodshot eyes with tears flowing non-stop and a deadpanned face, he staggered home... like a zombie. He walked, walked, walked and walked... His mind was occupied with only one thought about why does it took so long to get home. Suddenly, he felt a shiver ran through his spine, like he had just took a step to the north pole and took a step back here in this hell of fire of light. This helped him snapping out of his dazed state a bit and he took a look at his surrounding. Somewhere in his memories a while back until now, he remembered he had passed by a lot of people. A few of them even called out to him about something like: "...al..ight? or Ar...you s...? "...or something like that in which his mind failed to register due to its temporarily "shut down" state. Right now, he seemed to stand in a completely desert areas despite it was the dead center of his town. He was startled and frantically looked around trying to find a soul in this supposedly crowded place but found nothing. Yes, before he noticed it, the whole place which means the buildings, the streets and every other things just disappeared right before his eyes. He used his hand to wipe his eyes. Damn it, so the heat finally got me, huh? He opened his eyes again, and if he knew what he would see, he''s sure he would choose to close his eyes forever, not that it would make any difference though. He still couldn''t see anything, all around him. Everything was white, just a blank color of white and then in an instant it all turned black, pitch black, as well as his mind. Then, he went unconscious. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello everyone~ I''m sorry for posting new chapter so late~ I kinda got crushed by a whole bunch of tests for a bloody long two week! I though I was going to die! And this chapter is very long so I will split it into several part. I will post the next one soon! Chapter 1.2: Summoning Magic! Here''s the next part of chapter 1~ -------------------------------------------- he...vo... Th...one... He could hear some voice. He couldn''t make out what it had mean as it seemed to resounded all over the place as if the voices was coming from some broken radio. He opened his eyes only to be greeted by the absolutely darkness. Still, there was something wrong with his mind that kelp him from panicking even as he seemed to floating all around in this dark space like it was how it should be. He didn''t understand why but he seemed to have trouble keeping himself stayed conscious. Strangely, he didn''t mind that one bit. It felt like this was where he''s belonged and he just came back home, "true home" now. That was how comfortable he felt being there. He felt good so he relaxed, drifting in and out of conscious every now and then. ...But... He wasn''t allowed to rest in piece (lol. I wonder if this could be counted as some sort of pun?) even here. The voice just kelp getting loader and loader, ringing in his ears. At some point, he couldn''t ignore it anymore and was forced to listen to it. ...Oh...u...heard...vo........yet...........self... The voice became clearer and easier to make out. Though it still didn''t have a place in his mind yet as he simple didn''t care. And almost in tow with the voice, somehow he felt he could gather his thought easier. With the voice ringing in his ears and his mind wandered around paying almost no mind to the voice as he busily have a detour over his memories. At some point, his frustrating because of some unpleasant memories finally successfully snapped him out of his dream like state that the voice had failed to do. He opened his eyes again, this time with his soul actually in it, though he still dazed a bit. He had finally realizing how weird the place he was in now. He tried to move but couldn''t at all as he seemed to just floating around aimlessly. He didn''t understand what had happened to him. He tried his best to gather his most recent memories. '' I was going for a jog...met an annoying kid...went home...and what?''. He panicked, he couldn''t remember what happened after that.
