 Prologue: A Summoner

    Joseph Kaizer had lived his whole life for his kingdom, Shilla. Ever since he had been a young lad in the small village of Shinhwa, he had always been fascinated by the tales of heroes who accomplished many great deeds of valor. Dreaming of a day in the future when his stories would also be told, he carved a sword out of wood and began training himself from the age of six. Focusing on just perfecting his swing, he would constantly practice from sunset till then sun went down.


    When he finally reached adulthood at the age of sixteen, Joseph packed up his bag, said goodbye to his parents, and headed toward the capital to enlist in the army. While he was taking the enlistment exam, Sir Winterhold, a famous knight within the Kingdom of Shilla passed by and saw the sword pratice. Intrigued by Joseph''s potential, he took him under his wing to train him.


    For the next five years, Joseph followed Sir Winterhold everywhere, taking care of menial tasks and training. Following his mentor around, Joseph learned about the art of warfare from the times when he was in attendance for the war meetings. After his tutelage under Sir Winterhold had been completed, Joseph was immediately admitted into the Officer Corps.


    During the past thirteen years, Joseph accomplished many great deeds for his kingdom, making a name for himself throughout the continent as the "Undefeatable Lion", always charging to the front lines with his men and fighting ferociously. To his allies, Joseph was a symbol of victory while to his enemies he was an enigma that caused them dread when seen. Quickly raising through the ranks, by the tenth year of his service, Joseph became the symbol of the Shilla army''s strength and received the position of General of Shilla''s army. During these glorious thirteen years, Joseph had seen various kinds of different scenes on a battlefield. Some showed the good sides of humanity, some the dark. He had even seen some scenes that could only be though of as a miracle, but none of these prepared him for the scene that was in front of him right now.


    On this night, the twin blue moons Artius  and Alela shone brightly, illuminating the whole world in its warm light. Inside the Pavillion area within the Shilla Imperial Palace, where a ray of shone down, a portion of the garden within was covered with a thin layer of frost. Six Imperial Guards, the elite of the elites within the Shilla army, were standing in awkward positions without making even one slight movement. If you looked closely, you could barely make out that the guards had a thin layer of ice surrounding their bodies. In the middle of this unbelievable scene, a white dire wolf stood majesticly while looking at his foes.

    The dire wolf was humongous, standing at least three times larger than an ordinary wolf. Even for Joseph, who stood at 6''2, the wolf reached all the way up to his chest. Where the dire wolf should have fur, a coat of ice shards covered it.


    Beside the dire wolf was a tall human figure that was currently petting it under the chin. The human stood at about 6''0 and had his body covered by a gray cloak, hiding his figure underneath. Even though you couldn''t see his features, Joseph immediately recognized the male.


    Just a few moments ago, this boy had stood in front of the beloved King and Queen in the audience hall beside the summoned hero. In front of everyone, he had demanded that they both be sent back to their world. To the nobles and upper military command present, the boy had rubbed off as a snotty brat, making them sneer at him in contempt. Many had taken offense to the way he had spoken to his Majesty and her Higness, making some among the Imperial Guards come up with a plan to teach him a lesson. Catching wind of this, Joseph had immediately ran out to put an end to this nonsense. Even though he also didn''t appreciate the boy''s tone, he still felt sympathy for him as he had been thrown into a completely new world all of a sudden on somebody else''s whim.


    What greeted Joseph when he arrived, however, was this incredible scene. Seeing the situation, he finally realized that everyone had been gravely mistaken about this boy. This boy was no fool or weakling. He was actually a wolf hidden in the disguise of a sheep. This boy far surpassed the actual hero in strength. If somebody had told him then that he was stronger than the demon lord, he''d actually believe them.


    For a few moments all Joseph could do was gape his mouth in speechlessness. Finally regaining some for of composure, he is finally able to blurt out a few words.


    "Ju... just what the hell are you?!"


    Turning around slightly to face towards Joseph, the boy answer back with five words...


    "Yim Soo Hyun, a Summoner"

 Chapter 1: As expected, a ridiculous request

    Ji Sub and I had been going home after basketball practice. We were talking about how the championship game was this upcoming Friday and how this would be our final high school game when I felt the space around distort. Thinking it was dangerous, I tried to move the both of us out of the space but it was too late. Feeling myself bring tugged, my surroundings became dark and I lost consciousness.


    Feeling someone shaking me, I slowly start waking up. As my vision was coming back, I see Ji Sub above me.


    "Hey man.... I know we''re bros and all.... but you gotta give me some kind of notice... you should at least buy me dinner...."


    Noticing the awkward position he was in, Ji Sub pushes me to the ground and gets up laughing.


    "Well, looks like you didn''t lose your sense of humor. Anyways, where are we?"


    I begin studying our surroundings. We seemed to be some kind of chamber. The walls were formed with  stone, just as if we were in some kind of medieval fortress or castle in Europe. Even though the room was large, about 30 feet from one wall to the other, there wasn''t much in the form of furniture except for the table that was beside the room''s entrance. The only form of light coming into this room was through an open window at the far side of the room.


    Being cautious, I start sending my mana outwards from my body, scanning the surroundings to see if there were any traps or somebody hiding their presence.


    "So Soo Hyun, what kind of situation do you think this is?


    ".....I really hate to say this... but isn''t this just like those settings in some of those Japanese light novels?"


    "I was just thinking the same thing. We just need some people to come through the door and ask us to defeat the evil demon lord. Like we really got teleported to a different world ahaha"


    "Haha yeah. Anyways how you feeling?"


    "Actually... about that.... ever since I came to here in this room my body has been feeling a lot lighter..."


    While we were talking and trying to figure out our situation, I suddenly felt multiple people enter the area where my mana was spread to outside the room.


    "Yo, Soo Hyun, you hear that? Seems like people are coming finally. You should probably get ready just in case they''re not exactly friendly..."


    What the hell, he heard them?! They''re still a hundred meters away!! The only reason I knee they were coming was because I had my mans spread out, acting as a detector. I know Ji Sub has always had better senses than the majority of people, but stilll... Anyways, I slowly raise my body, preparing an incantation. Even though I don''t want to summon in front of Ji Sub.... I''m not going to risk his life just because of some secret...


    Seventy five meters.....fifty meters .... ten... five... the people had finally reached the door. In total there was twelve.


    "They''re right outside, be ready Ji Sub..."


    Creaking loudly as it was slowly opened, in the place where it had been, men dressed in armor start coming in. Being on guard, we both bend our knees so that we can spring into action at any time. The men were dressed in medieval plate armors thst you could see in museums, each holding in their hands a spear. As the men flowed into the room, they began taking positions by the wall.


    The last person to enter the room was a young male, probably only a year or two older than us. He had long blonde hair to his chin, with it parting to the sides in the front. With his blue eyes and slim figure at 6''6, many girls would probably consider him the handsome type.


    The clothing that he was wearing was very weird though. Even though it looked as if it was made out of expensive red cloth, the shoulder area was popping out like they were balloons underneath. His black pants went down to just under his knees, just like some cargo pants. The shoes he were wearing were made out of wood and had pointy ends. This was the first time I had seen such bizarre clothing fashion.


    "+?¡Â¡ê$*@^! €¡Â $&¡Â&$(?"


    The guy was saying something in a foreign language that I couldn''t understand. I had traveled around the world a few times and had heard many languages, but this was completely different from anything I had ever heard.


    Noticing our confused faces, the man suddenly realize we couldn''t understand him. Saying a few words, I feel mana gathering around him, putting me on alert. The magic''s nature, however, seemed to be peaceful and it enveloped Ji Sub and I for a second before dissapating.


    "Can you understand me now, gentlemen?"


    It seems that the magic was something that translated language for us. Nodding our heads, the man continues on.


    "Perfect. Well then gentlemen, I welcome you to the Kingdom of Shilla. I am the crown prince, Hwang Sung. Even though it was selfish of us, since we are in a dire situation, we teleported you to become the hero that saves us from the invasion of the demons that will occur. It, however, seems as if mistakingly someone else had been teleported here also..."


    The way he said that last statement irked me. He was acting as if only one of us was needed and the other was just trash. During the prince''s speech I had already begun putting two and two together and figured Ji Sub was the hero. The feeling of being lighter and the improvements in his senses could be attributed to him gaining special strength from becoming the hero.


    "Gentlemen, if you don''t mind please follow me. My father is waiting for you in the audience hall"


    As we really didn''t have a choice,we nod our head and follow the prince as he left the room. The guards exited the room after us and formed a circle around us. We proceeded in this formation walking in the same hallway for about five minutes before arriving at a large double door entrance. There was a guard on each side holding a large Halberd. Seeing us, both the guards open the door where someone was awaiting for us to announce our arrival.


    "The crown prince Hwang Sung and the Hero"


    The audience hall was quite extravagant. There were pillars every ten meters on each side of the red rug that led a path to the throne at the far end. Chandeliers were laid out in numerous locations throughout the ceiling so that the hall would be fully lighted Tapestries and displays of armor lined up both sides of the wall.


    Men and women lined up both sides of the walkway, whispering as we walked up. These people were most likely nobles and high ranking officers. They were wearing very similar styles to what the prince had worn.


    At the end of the walkway was two thrones where a man looking to be in his forties and a beautiful woman  in her thrities were seated. The king, seated on the left throne, had a regal sense of feel surrounding him. Even though his face had been chiseled by the times, it was still handsome with his short brunette hair that had gray poking up and hazel eyes. Even though he was in his forties, you could tell that the king still constantly trained as he had a well muscled stocky body.


    Beside him, the queen was elegant. Her long blonde hair and blue eyes, along with the white dress she wore screamed class and exuded a very sexy feel. Her figure was still slim as evident by her small waist and skinny arms. Her bosom size was quite large for her body type....hmm in my estimates a lower D cup?..... wait what am I thinking about?! This isn''t the time for this!

    While I was inwardly berating myself, the king, in a thunderous voice welcomed us.


    "Hero!! I welcome you to my kingdom of Shilla. I am the king, Jung Hwa Ryeong and beside me is my wife, the queen Angelina Jung. If you wouldn''t mind, could you and your friend please introduce yourselves?"


    "Hello, your majesty. My name is So Ji Sub. It is an honor to greet you"


    " ....Yim Soo Hyun"


    You could hear the small commotion coming from the side.


    "How dare he address his majesty like that!!"


    "The audicity!!"


    The king, however, was unfazed and continued on.


    "I know that summoning you to our world must have been quite a shock, but we are in desperate times. A new Demon Lord has arisen in our times. He is far stronger than any that came before him and has set his eyes on conquering our continent, creating the biggest crisis we have ever had in our long history. Hero!! Please assist us in our time of peril and lead our army to victory!"


    ....Oi... this situation is way too cliche.... I can''t believe I''ve lived to hear those ridiculous words.... and did that old guy just ignore me? Feeling a vein pop up on my forehead, I step up and ask the king a question.


    "Ummm, your majesty, may I ask you a question?"


    The hall once again bursted in commotion at me daring to speak to the King without approval. Ignoring them, the King smiles at me and urges me to continue.


    "Your majesty, let me just get everything straight. You summoned us, who had been living  a happy life back in our world with our families and friends, to fight against the strongest Demon Lord to ever exist while risking our lives for you and your continent who we have never met or seen?"


    "...!!"


    Hearing my question, the king puts on a shocked face that shortly turns into a difficult expression....please dont tell me you just realized what you did?....anyways I decide to put that thought aside and continue on.


    "Your majesty I demand you send us back to our world. We''re freaking eighteen years old! You are asking way too much of us!"


    "....about that... we umm.... don''t know how?"


    "Ahhh?! So you summoned us to your world with no way back?!?! You got to be joking!!!"


    We have no way of going back?! Screw that! I got family and many things I still need to do back on earth!


    "We will have our mages find a way! So until then please assist us! If you do I promise we will return you back to your homes!"


    ....did he just threaten us saying if we didn''t help we couldn''t go back home? Ahhh..... I think I need to introduce this damn king to a special friend....While really contemplating about if I should, Ji Sub comes beside me and whispers.


    "Hey Soo Hyun, being angry isn''t going to get us anywhere. What can''t be done can''t be. We''re just going to have do what they ask so that they''re more inclined to send us back. Your father also used to always tell us when we were kids that the sword was used to protect those weaker than us"


    "...Even though I doubt that my old man meant in situations like these, bleh whatever man, we''ll go with what you said"


    Sighing, I relent. Ji Sub gives me a pat on my right shoulder and then steps forward to address the king.


    "Your majesty, we understand the situation. We will assist your army in defeating the demon; However do remember to keep your side of the bargain and find us a way back to our world"


    Hearing that we would help out, the king''s face immediately lit up in joy.


    "Your sense of value is truly like those of the heroes of old. Thank you! I promise to find a method to send you two back. Please take tomorrow off as a day to adjust to the situation. Starting the day afterwards we will send instructors to assist in your training"


    Saying that, the audience ended and we were now being guided to our room.


    "So Soo Hyun, what you going to do tomorrow?"


    "Probably head to the library and familiarize myself to this world. How about you?"


    "That actually sounds like a good plan, I''ll head there with ya"


    While we were talking about our plans for tomorrow, I feel the presence of six people following behind us. Guessing what they wanted, I find an excuse to stay behind.


    "Hey man, I left something in that chamber earlier so I''m going to go back and get it real quick. Go ahead and go to your room I''ll see you at breakfast tomorrow"


    "You sure man? I could go with ya"


    "Naw, thanks for the offer but I''ll be fine"


    Parting with Ji Sub at the Pavillion area we were in, I meld into the shadows beside the patio and wait for our trailers.


    I really didn''t have to wait that long. Not even a minute after, six Soldiers geared in their armors appeared.


    "Where did that brat go?! He was just with the hero"


    "He couldn''t have gone off anywhere too far, comb the area"


    Seeing that my guess was correct, a smirk appears on my face as I step out of the shadow.


    "Ah gentlemen, for what do I have the pleasure to be sought after by you fine men?"


    Jumping at my sudden appearance from the shadows, my pursuers immediately go into a fighting position. Seeing that it was me, they slowly loosen up and one of them steps up.


    "!!..Oi brat! You sure have some guts talking to our King like that. Since its the responsibility of seniors like us, we came to give you a "light" class on how to act"


    "Hoo.... so you came to teach me, huh? But what do we do? Only people who are teaching stronger than the one who is to be taught are qualified to teach and I seriously doubt any of you match this requirement ....."


    At my provocation, the Soldiers became agitated. Feeling that it was quite pathetic that they fell for something so simple, I decide to quickly in this situation and go to sleep.


    "Haa... you all really aren''t worthy of my attention. Let me call upon someone who might be more your guy''s stength.


    Thee, who eats the gods, appear. Come to my side and swallow all those foolish enough to challenge your master, Fenrir!"


    As I completed the incantation, the area around me suddenly drops drastically in temperature. Slowly, the grass with me at the center, froze up due to the freezing temperature. Beside me, a shadow begun to materialize.  Seeing this, the Soldiers'' faces paled as the figure of a white dire wolf appeared. Seeing the large figure, even though the temperature was freezing, sweat started forming on Soldiers brows.


    Wanting to finish this quickly, I give Fenrir a command.


    "Fenrir, take care of these folks but don''t kill them okay?"


    Hearing my command, Fenrir nods it''s heads and slowly approach the Soldiers that awaited their already chosen fate.

 Chapter 2: Alela

    ¡°Morning man, you find what you left at the chamber last night?¡±


    ¡°*yawn* yo~ yeah I did¡±


    "You okay man? You look exhausted. Couldn''t sleep?"


    "...something like that.."


    Cursing that damn Alela, I remember the events of last night.


    After taking care of the trash, I had returned to my room and fell asleep. Thats when I heard the voice.


    "Welcome, foreigner of a different world"


    Opening my eyes at the sudden words, I notice my surroundings had changed. I was now in a dark empty space. Well... it would''ve been empty if not for her.


    In the middle of the room was a tall young lady. She had long silver hair that reached the bottom of her shoulder that matched her stormy gray eyes. Her figure was slim with small bulges coming out from where her chest and butt was which was covered by a long white dress. She was quite the beauty truthfully. I would have mistaken her for a human if it wasn''t for the silver aura that surrounded her.


    "....who are you?"


    "Oh I haven''t introduced myself, huh? My name is Alela, the Goddess of the Moon for this world, champion of Artmeis"


    Hearing those words, I immediately get into a defensive posture, becoming on guard. Seeing this, the young lady laughed and continued on.


    "Ho Ho ho, you don''t have to be so tensed. Artemis is like a big sister to me you know?"


    "....How do you know her?"


    "Deities that govern the same things have a link to each other. When I was a young goddess, Artemis took me under her wing and helped me out you know? I''m quite in her debts"


    Hm... that''s the first time I heard about this... well since I didn''t even know the existence of different worlds, it''s not really that surprising.


    "I''m not really suppose to make contact with the races in our world, but I think we can make an exception for you. Anyways, Artemis went on quite the fury when you disappeared from Earth, you know? She finally calmed down when I told her what happened. After talking to her for a little bit, I convinced her after telling her that I''d watch over you to let you stay here for a little while so that I could receive your assistance"


    "...And what exactly does a goddess need the help of a mortal like me for?"


    "You know, my older relatives created everything in this world and have made a pact to let the world grow without any interference from us. I have, however, noticed that some of the other deities have begin meddling into the mortals affairs. I have begun investigating this but I can''t directly interfere with the mortals so I need you to help from the mortal side. Please become my champion"


    ....Damn this is going to be a hassle. I can''t even say no since she is close with my patron.... Sighing, I agree to help Alela.


    "Haa... I don''t think I really have a choice in this. I will become your champion for the duration of the time I am here"


    "Thank you, Soo Hyun! As a mark for being under my protection, I will give you this"


    Saying that, she stretches out a sword to me. Receiving it from her, I pull it out of the sheathe to inspect it. The sword was 4 ft. in length with a doubled edged leaf design. On the pommel of the sword, a etching of the moon was placed on a silver stone. Along the blade, a silver aura surrounded it.


    "That is my own personal sword, Moonfang. The sword has my aura in it and can cut through anything, even deities so please handle it with care~"


    "Thats quite the present, but don''t you need this?"


    "I''ll be fine but you have to return it okay? Oh, it seems like I''ve taken too much of your time as it looks like you are starting to awaken. Remember, I''ll be watching over you and protecting you from afar"


    Saying that Alela disappeared and I had woke up.


    Right now Ji Sub and I were in the dining hall. In front of us were a plate of something green that looked like egg and bacon. The green egg like thing was very similar to the eggs in our world except that they had a sweetness to them. It really wasn¡¯t too bad. After gulping down our plates, a servant that had been placed in the hall to take care of our needs guided us to the Library.


    The Royal Library was huge. There were rows after rows of bookshelves that reached the ceilings full with texts. Going to the lady who was behind the desk at the entrance, we tell her the books that we wanted.


    Nodding her head, she went off for a while and returned with a stack of books to the table we were at. The books that the librarian had brought were A History of Excela, The Wars of Ages Past, and The Races of Excela,  just to name a few. Choosing A History of Excela out of the stack, I begin reading.


    The book explained how at the beginning, ten Gods and Goddesses had created the world thousands of years ago. Laea created land, Moshiva created the seas, and Aeria the sky. After being satisfied with their creations, the Gods had started creating the people of this world.


    Asmas, the leader of the Gods, created the angels. The angels were created in the image of the gods with two made to serve each deity as their messenger. These beings were the closest of any of the races to the Gods and were given the most power. Even though they did not appear often, some of the Gods would sometimes send them out to relay a message or to execute a punishment.


    Moshiva created the Undines. This species were elemental beings. Their bodies composed of water, they were governed over his beloved oceans. The Undines had absolute control over the manipulation of water in their realms and it was deemed suicidal to try to attack them in their territory.


    Pyreon, the God of Fire, created the Paetheons. This race were large humanoid beings that stood at about 10¡¯ ft tall. They were gifted with a excellent sense for fighting and seemed to excel at it compared to others. The Paetheons had been given the task of protecting the volcanoes and could usually be found near them. This race was the least populous among the other races.


    Aeria created the Azuls, majestic birds that had high intelligence. The Azuls were the guardians of the skies. These Azuls were frequently seen flying over the territory they were given to govern, ensuring that their beloved Goddess¡¯ creation was kept pure. Even though it hasn¡¯t been verified, there was a rumor that Azuls had humanoid forms that they could shift change into.


    Laea created the Elves. The Elves were given the duty of protecting nature and the lands. Laea blessed the Elves with extradionary earth magic and long lives so that they could conduct their duty. The Elven Kingdom was based in the West, but you could really see them anywhere as they spread apart to tend to the land¡¯s needs.


    Einseon, the God of Forging, created the Dwarves. These beings were of much shorter nature than the other races but made up for it with their enormous strengths. The Dwarves had been given the task of mining the earth¡¯s treasures in the ground and been gifted with hands made for smithing. No one came close to the Dwarves when it came to the quality of their products. The Dwarves situated themselves in Mt. Kilmail, which was the border between the North and the rest of the Continent.


    Esmod, the God of Animals, created the Werepeople. These Werepeople were humanoid beings that had features of a  certain race. The Werepeople had various types of different beings and were known to be nomadic, spreading out all throughout the Continent in tribes. Esmod had given them the task to protect the animals from the other specials and were gifted with enhanced physical strength compared to the other races.

    Paromus, the God of Chaos, created the demons. The Demons were created with a single purpose, spreading their master¡¯s chaos through the whole world. They were given enhanced physical traits that surpassed even the werepeople and were gifted with dark magic. The Demons controlled the Northern portion of the continent, being cut off from the rest by Mt. Kilmail.


    Ares, the God of War created the trolls. They were large humanoid beings that stood usually at 7'' ft. on average. They had lean well muscled arms and legs that were made to be perfect for movements during battle. The trolls were a nomadic race that traveled around Mt. Kimail craving for battles and stronger foes.


    And finally, Ismail, the Goddess of Knowledge had created the humans. Even though humans were not given any special traits like the other species, they were gifted with the thirst for knowledge. At first, the humans had been treated as lesser beings by the other races, but as the human race gained knowledge and learned about technology, they began to rise to become a dangerous foe with their quick advancements in technology and their larger growing population.


    The Gods and Goddesses, satisified with their creations, had placed them  on the continent Excela and made a pact to not interfere with them anymore.


    At first, the nine species kept to their own areas and focused on just their tasks given to them by their creator. As hundreds of years went by, the races begin migrating to different areas and exploring, which finally led to interactions. At first, these interactions had been peaceful and it seemed as if all the races would get along, but then soon each race¡¯s greed started coming into play as they eyed each other¡¯s more numerous resources and land.


    A thousand years after the creation of the world, wars began breaking out. The races now begun looking at the others with suspicion and doubt. The only times recorded in history when the races banded together was in invasions by the demons. During the first invasion, the demons had pushed so far into the continent and wreaked so muc havoc, that it took hundreds of years for the races and the land to recover.


    Hm... the history of this world is pretty interesting. There¡¯s quite a few different races too. It looks like it¡¯ll be interesting meeting with them. While having such thoughts, I close the History of Excela and go on to the next book. Ji Sub and I stayed in the Library for about 4 hours studying up on the history and the specific races before heading back to the dining hall to grab some dinner.


    ¡°So what you think about this world Ji Sub ah?¡±


    ¡°Truthfully, it feels like some kind of RPG haha. The many different types of races do interest me though¡±


    ¡°Yeah, I wanna see all of them at least once before we leave. Think it¡¯ll be cool haha~¡±


    As we were talking, a messenger came to see us in the dining hall with a message.


    ¡°Gentlemen, the King expresses his wish for the both of you to come to the audience hall tomorrow at noon. Embassadors from the Elves and Dwarves have come and request your presence. We will have servants prepare clothes for you and guide you tomorrow¡±


    Saying that, the messenger left.


    ¡°Well.. it looks like you''re getting your wish granted pretty quickly Soo Hyun¡±


    "Yeah, no kidding. I wonder how they got here so quickly after we were summoned. From what I saw at the library, it looked like it would take at least a month worth of travel for either races to get here unless they have a means of transportation we don''t know...."


    "Let me answer that question for you gentlemen"


    Suddenly hearing a voice from behind us, we both turn. Behind us stood General Kaizer. When the General first saw me his eyebrows flinched but like a professional Soldier he kept his facial expression stern. Ho...even after seeing last night he can keep his face straight huh? As expected from a seasoned veteran.


    "During the last demon invasion, the races noticed that it took too long to gather for a meeting. Gathering their mages, they were able to create a teleportation circle in the capital of each Kingdom that let a small envoy from each race to travel swiftly.     Shaking his head, we both stand up and head back to our room to rest for the day.


    The next morning when I woke up, I saw that a fresh set up of clothes and a water basin had been set up for me. Washing myself and putting on the clothes, I waited until the servant came to pick me up.


    Inside the audience hall, the King was already greeting the embassadors as we walked in. There were three representatives for both races. The elves had two men and one beautiful lady in attendance.


    On the lef side, the Dwarves, as you might already guess were quite short and were pretty round in body shape. The beards that each of them had were long enough to tuck into their pants which was pretty funny looking. All three embassadors wore extravagant armors with exquistr designs on them, showing off their racial traits.


    On the other side of the hallf stood the elves. The elves had slim, tall figures that were covered in clothes that had a feeling of a serene forest. The mixture of brown and green seemed as if they were in a forest, they could eadily blend in. Both males had long blonde hair that reached their backs with hazel eyes that seemed to be sharp. I really didn''t pay too much attention to them as the lady took my attention.


    She was stunning. She had a slim figure that had a small waist while her bosom was about the c cup range. Her figure was very bewitching and instantly charmed me.


    While I was mesmerized by the elf, the king began introducing us.


    "Well embassadors, let me begin the introductions. On the left is the hero So Ji Sub and beside him is his friend Kim Soo Hyun. As both the elves and Dwarves have requested, we will have a demonstration of their powers to verify their strengths. Now if you follow me, I will lead us all to the grounds."


    Standing up, the king begins walking to the entrance. The Dwarves followed him, forming into a file and falling in behind. Next, the elves started to walk out. As the elf girl was about the exit, she looks straight back at me and winks.


    Ahhh.... I think I might have fallen in love. While thinking that, Ji Sub and I exit the room also and head to the grounds.

 Chapter 3: Cave of Sorrow

    Ji Sub¡¯s POV


    It¡¯s been a couple of days since Soo Hyun and I had been teleported to this weird world. Even though it might be a little wrong to think this way, I am truthfully glad Soo Hyun is with me. If I had come here alone, I don¡¯t think I could have handled this situation but seeing Soo Hyun be the same as ever had a calming effect on me making me believe that everything will work out.


    Ever since I had been young, the both of us had always hung out since I joined his father¡¯s dojo. As we were the only two young children there, we had always practiced together. At first, I hated training in kumdo as I would constantly make mistakes and couldn¡¯t get the feel for the arts. Soo Hyun, however was different as it felt like he was born for the sword arts with his fluid movements and natural talent. Not boasting of his own talent, Soo Hyun always stayed after practice to help correct my mistakes and teach me. With the training I received from his father and the assistance after practice, I gradually got a feel for the sword and started to drastically improved.


    By the time I reached the age ten, I could go head to head with adults. At the age of twelve, I was starting to defeat the more skilled disciples in the dojo. When I joined the kumdo club when I reached middle school, I easily handled all the upper classmen and won many tournaments. People started calling me a prodigy. I, however, knew the real prodigy was Soo Hyun. Even though we had fought hundreds of times, I had never been able to beat him.


    ¡°Yo, Ji Sub, we¡¯re here¡±


    Snapping back to reality at Soo Hyun¡¯s words, I take a look at our surroundings. Currently we were at a large open space near the audience hall. The king and the ambassadors had already formed up to the side. Turning around toward Soo Hyun, about to say a few words to him I see that he is still looking at that female elf. Seeing this, the edges of my lips begin curling up into an evil grin. Soo Hyun had never lived it down that I had been so popular with the girls in high school, always teasing me, especially when he found out about my crush with Ji Hyun. When he first told me about it, I remember that I thought I was dead as he always had been overprotective about her, but to my surprise he endorsed it and had kept trying to get us to date. Thinking of these memories, I plan my counterattack!


    ¡°So even the almighty Kim Soo Hyun can be infatuated with a girl huh?¡±

    ¡°Dude, you¡¯re going to glare holes into that elf if you keep staring at her for so long¡­¡±

    ¡°As you wish then, ambassador. The rules of this spar are simple. No attacks to vital areas will be allowed. If I deem that it¡¯s becoming too dangerous, I will stop the spar. Is that fine for you both?¡±


    ¡°Baah, let¡¯s get it over with¡±


    ¡°Sure, you¡¯re majesty¡±


    Agreeing to the conditions, both the dwarf and I walk back to create some space between us.


    ¡°What¡¯s your name, brat? It¡¯s too much of a hassle to call you hero every time¡±

Smirking at that thought, I slowly loosen my body and prepare for the fight. From the side, seeing that both of us were ready, the king begins the spar.


    ¡°Alright then, BEGIN!¡±


    At those words, the dwarf begins charging at me. Staying still, I begin analyzing the dwarf. Bormin was wearing heavy plate armor that would have been way too heavy for any other people to wear. Donning his helmet, only his auburn beard and brown eyes could be seen from behind it. He currently was gripping a double edged great axe that had a menacing sharpness on both sides. Even though he was decked out in some good gear, all I could think while studying him charge was¡­


    Slow¡­.way too slowly¡­ Even though the dwarves in the movies and games on Earth were slow also, and I thought this might be the case but still¡­. Feeling disappointed, I let out a sigh.  Bormin, seeing me just stand still and sighing, becomes angry and comes at me with bloodlust. When he finally gets within striking distance, he raises the great axe overhead in both his hands, planning to use all his body to create momentum for his swing. Seeing this, I calmly await the timing and use one of the forms.


    As the axe came rushing down toward my head, I raise my sword at an angle and let the axe go down the sword¡¯s whole length, deflecting it toward the ground where the impact had embedded the axe deep into the ground. To Bormin, I then suddenly disappeared. Knowing that his situation was bad, he immediately tried to pull the axe out of the ground and leaps back. While he was stepping backward while looking in the surrounding for me, I put the sword around his neck which causes him to freeze in place immediately.


    Moonlight Sword Form three, Moonlight¡¯s Reflection.


    This form was based on using the enemy¡¯s strength against them as you fully deflect their weapon. While they get distracted by the sudden counterstrike, I swiftly move toward their back and land a crucial blow. The movement is supposed to be so quick that I leave something like an afterimage of myself where I was. Not actually being where it looked like I was, just like a Moon¡¯s reflection in a lake or river.

    Feeling the sword near his neck, Bormin drops his weapon and slowly raises his hand in defeat. Seeing this, I retract the sword and fall back. Being surprised at how strong I was, the King became quite happy and asked the spectators.


    ¡°Well then, I believe that shows everyone how strong the hero is? So now do you all believe in his strength?¡±


    All the ambassadors nod their heads. They knew that a hero was supposed to have been teleported, but when they heard that two kids had been teleported instead, they had actually doubted the validity of their strength. Seeing, however, my strength they recognized that I was truly the hero. While everyone had come forward to congratulate me, the female elf begins to speak.


    ¡°Gentlemen, I don¡¯t believe that completes the test, no? We have yet to test the strength of his friend after all¡±


    Realizing their mistake, while blushing, the rest of ambassadors and the King return to their positions while blushing due to embarrassment. Coughing to clear his throat real quick, the King then goes on.

    The ambassadors seemed to be discussing among themselves about what they should do. They had seen what they came for, that my strength was indeed legitimate but had completely forgotten about Soo Hyun. Feeling anger that my best friend had been ignored, I take a step forward but feel a hand grab my shoulder. Turning around, Soo Hyun is smiling at me and shaking his head, telling me to let it go. Disgruntingly, I relent as the person himself didn¡¯t want anything to be done. Help, however came from an unexpected location.


    Stepping forward again, the female elf begins speaking again.


    ¡°Your majesty, I actually have a different test in mind. Would you mind if I took the Hero and his friend to the Cave of Sorrow?¡±


    ¡°?!?!¡±


    At the mention of the Cave of Sorrow, everyone¡¯s faces show expressions of shock. Curious as to why, I ask the lady a question.


    ¡°My lady, and what exactly is this Cave of Sorrow?¡±


    ¡°The Cave of Sorrow is a place that is known for being the lair for strong monsters. The King of Shilla had actually sent some forces over there a while to clear them  but they were all decimated. Supposedly, there are even rumors of a young High Dragon making his lair in the cave¡­¡±


    ¡­.That¡¯s quite a dangerous place¡­ Feeling worried, I look back at Soo Hyun to see what he thinks. Seeing my worried face, he just casually shrugs his shoulder before stepping forward.

    Sigh, that lady elf sure doesn¡¯t know Soo Hyun. He absolutely hates doing anything that seems like a hassle! While picturing the scene in my head, I instead receive a huge shock.

    Eh? Did I just hear that correctly? Did that Soo Hyun, infamous for rejecting anything troublesome, just agree?! WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY BEST FRIEND KIM SOO HYUN?!?!


    While I had fallen into mental shock, Dal Rin and Soo Hyun begin walking toward the palace entrance. Looking at the others, I see that they have also received shock from the way things just happened. Snapping out of it, the king blurts out in panic.


    "Pr...Princess Dal Rin!! I can''t let you go to such a dangerous place! Please think of my position...."


    "Dont worry~ we''ll be fine.  All of us are quote renown warriors, you know?"


    Not even turning around to answer, she just keeps on going. The others and I, finally regaining ourselves, quickly run to catch up to her. The king, whose face paled, had General Kaizer come with us as protection.


    As we headed toward the cave, I pondered about whom this person disguised as my best friend was until I finally realized something. Smirking at the realization, I head over to Soo Hyun''s side.


    "Soo Hyun ah~"


    "....You always used that tone when you think of something dangerous...."


    At my sudden change in attitude, Soo Hyun eyes me with suspicion.


    "What are you talking about~ Anyways you sure have changed....falling for a girl and all... I seriously was worried about you, you know? Always rejecting girls advances and all.... But this elf seems to interest you huh? Even making you agree to a troublesome task without any hesitation~ She¡¯s a princess, no less huh? Anyways, I wonder how Ji Hyun would take it if she found out about this....."


    Hearing Ji Hyun''s name, Soo Hyun open his in shock. While making a face of horror, he stutters while asking the next question.


    "....yo....you wouldn''t.. d, d, d, dare...ri...right?"


    Seeing victory, I laugh and pat Soo Hyun in the shoulder.


    "Ho.... Soo Hyun ah.... I remember that promise you made make with you..."


    "Cancelled!! How could I let my best friend do something so shameful!!"


    While sweating beads, Soo Hyun immediately cancels the promise he made me make back on earth. Throughout the rest of the trip, Soo Hyun tried sucking up to me until we finally reached the destination.


    The sun had started setting. In front of us was a large cave entrance that rose easily to 20 meters in height. Even from this distance, an ominous aura was leaking towards us. As if none of that bothered her, Dal Rin turns toward everyone and tells us the plan.


    "Alright then! The Cave of Sorrow is supposed to be 5 floors deep. The first floor is only inhabited by middle ranked monsters so we will only travel there for this test. The high dragon that makes this cave his lair is supposed to be in the bottom floor so luckily we don¡¯t have to deal with him. Soo Hyun shi, please lead from the front. We will follow you closely from behind to observe. If something serious occurs we''ll come to your aid~ Does anyone have question? No? Well then let''s go~"


    Seeing that none of us had anything to say, Dal Rin turns forward and walks toward the entrance. And thus, we entered the Cave of Sorrow.

 Chapter 4: Ji Subs very own pe.. I mean protector!

    As we walk into the cave, drops of water could be heard as water dripped down stalactites onto the cave''s floor. As the interior of the cave was so dark it was impossible to traverse, we lit torches that were already prepared and marched forward. As we were moving, Dal Rin comes to my side.


    "Hey Soo Hyun. You think you''ll be alright? I know I''m the one who suggested coming here but this place is very dangerous..."


    With her face illuminated by the flickering light, she showed me a worrying face. Ah.... shes so beautiful...How can such a gorgeous face exist?


    "Um.. Soo Hyun, you listening?"


    Snapping back into reality, I panickingly answer.


    "..huh? Oh... yeah I''ll be fine don''t worry Dal Rin"


    Hearing my confident reply, she shows a smile and nods. she truly is a goddess...


    Like this, we continue forward. We traveled for fifteen minutes before running into the first batch of monsters, six Devil Rats.


    Think of a rat... now think of a rat that was as big as a bus... well that just about explains the Devil Rats. They were humongous. They had black fur that blended into the darkness that looked very thick. The claws were also elongated, reaching about two meters in length. They really did look disgusting.


    While the rest of the party flinched at their discovery, I begin lightly stretching. Dal Rin, coming over to my side, asks with a worried face.


    "Soo Hyun.... if you need hel..."


    "Hahaha no need to worry, Dal Rin. I''ll take care of these small fries quickly~ Look at Ji Sub. He''s just lazily looking at them. It''ll be fine"


    While reassuring Dal Rin, I finish stretching and take out Moonfang. As it was unsheathed, a blue aura surrounds it, giving it a dazzling appearance. Dal Rin, looking at the sword with wonder, suddenly sees the marking of the moon and opens her eyes in shock. Shit... I forgot about Alela''s mark on it... Before she can ask any questions, I rush toward the Devil Rats while using one of the sword forms.


    Moonlight Sword Form one, Midnight Deception.


    I begin making irregular footsteps and suddenly appear five meters north east of where I was. Next, I appear three meters north west. Like this, my image kept appearing at different locations, confusing the enemy. The trick to this was the eccentric footsteps and sharp changes in speed that caused images to appear, making it difficult to identify where I clearly was.


    Seeing the multiple images at different intervals, the Devil Rats became confused. Using this opportunity, I rush to the front of one and jump up from his knees. Reaching head length, I let out a quick diagonal slash. Reaching the ground, I rush toward the next Devil Rat.


    The spectators behind, who had been bewildered by Midnight Deception, finally came to and were curious as to why I would rush toward the next opponent before finishing the current one when slowly, the Devil Rat''s head slid off its shoulder and fell to the ground. The slash and been so sharp and swift that almost no blood splashed out.


    Amazed by the skill I had, they continued watching with jaws agape at the scene of me finishing each Devil Rat with one swing. Devil Rats were renown for having very thick fur that made it very difficult to slash through in one strike and here I was, finishing them off with one flick of the wrist.


    They, however, didnt know about my swordsmanship skills or Moonfang, Alela''s sword that could slash through anything in one swing. While being amused by the spectators faces, I finish up the last Devil Rat and return. As I approached, Ji Sub steps forward and raises his right arm high. Chuckling, I also do the same and give him a high five.


    Turning, I face toward the spectators and ask if that was enough.


    "Well then, is that enough for you all?"


    "Yo...you... weren''t you a su...."


    At Joseph''s blabbering, I glare at him. Getting the meaning that he should shut up, he immediately closes his mouth shut.


    Dal Rin, with amazement on her face also starts to speak up...


    "Just how did you get Al...."


    "Dal Rin? Can we speak about that later please?"


    As I glanced at the rest of the people here, Dal Rin notices and nods. Satisfied with the skill level  I had shown and knowing I had a god class sword, Dal Rin tries to call it a day.


    "Well then, everyone has seen Soo Hyun''s skills with that right? Well, I suggest that we all lea..."


    Before she could finish, however, one of the dwarves come forward.


    "Now wait just a second, princess Dal Rin. Though I must agree he looked impressive just now also, I need to see if his strength is worthy against a stronger opponent. I say we continue forward and look for a S class monster...."


    Dal Rin glares at the dwarf. It was Bormin, the dwarf that had sparred against Ji Sub earlier in the day. Guessing his intention was actually thst he couldn''t stand both the hero and his friend being stronger than him, she tries to argue but before that I put a hand on her shoulder.


    Looking back at me, I just shake my head telling her its fine. Sighing, Dal Rin agrees with a condition.


    "Alright then, Bormin. We will continue forward but we will not go past the first level okay?"


    "That should be enough, princess"


    Smiling, Bormin bows to Dal Rin and agrees. With that we began once again to move forward. During the trek, Ji Sub comes by my side and interrogates me.


    "...suspicious, way too suspicious... Soo Hyun, the king of laziness, agrees to do more work?!"


    Even though I really wanted to rebuke that statement, I really couldn''t since he was right. Damn bastard. You don''t have to say it out loud!


    "Tell me... its because Dal Rin, huh? You just wanna show off dont you?"


    Because he was right, I really couldn''t deny it. Looking for a way to escape, I see more Devil Rats appear. Being so happy that I could kiss them, I rush forward and escape from Ji Sub''s trap. Glaring at me with suspicion, I charge.


    And like this, we continued till the end of thr first floor. Finally reaching the end, something like a floor boss stood in front of the passage down.


    "...a S rank monster.. crystal golem...."


    What stood in front of us was a large 10 meters tall humanoid figure with a skin of crystals. It was beautiful, really. If it wasnt a monster you would want to stop and gaze at it really. I really didn''t care about that. Finally! A S rank monster! Feeling happy that this hassle of a test would finally end, I charge.


    The crystal golem, seeing me charge, raises its right arm to pommel down towards me. Booring.... too slow. While seriously wanting to yawn, I easily avoid it. Feeling that the golem was too large, I slash at both of it''s knees and cut it down. Roaring with pain, the golem falls forward and crashes onto the ground.


    Now that the golem had lowered, I jump onto its back and slash through its neck, beheading it in one stroke. Glad that it was finally over, I turn around to the appearance of shock on the spectators'' faces.

    While trying to complete her sentence, a large crack sound echos through the cave. Curious, I look around and start to notice the ground underneath the golem cracking. Picking up Dal Rin by her waist, which made her leak a cute "kyah!" I try to escape the area but its too late as the ground crumbles and we fall down.


    Ji Sub seeing this, tries to rush forward to help but is too late. Making eye contact with him one last time, he roars out.


    "SOOO HYUNNN!!!!!"


    As I lose sight of him, due to the surprise of the situation I had accidently let go of Dal Rin and we were seperated. Hm... should I summon him? He could fly us away, but Dal Rin would see then...While debating whether to keep it a secret still or use one of my summons, I begin seeing a lake underneath us as we fell. When we were near the lake''s surface I go behind a rock to use it to break the surface and dive in.


    Inside the lake, everything becomes green. After looking for a few seconds I see Dal Rin is unconcious and sinking down. Thinking it should be fine now. I begin a summon.


    *Oh beautiful lady who is the queen of the seas, who''s power within the water has no peers, appear beside my side and sweep away all my foes, Aquarius!*


    Beside me the water begins to swirl, becoming a miniture hurricane. As the hurricane slowly dissipated, the figure of a beautiful lady appeared. She had sea green hair that went down to her back. Wearing nothing except clamshells to cover her bosom, she had an aluring figure that tempted all men who beheld the sight. What marked her, however, as not a human was underneath her waist. A fish tail. Yup this lady was a mermaid.


    *Master, what is your wish?*


    *Go down and save that elf?*


    *Ohhhh. Shes quite the beauty master. I''m starting to get jealous~"


    "...."


    "Ok ok im going~"


    Knowing that Aquarius would get her quickly, I swim up and break through the surface before heading to the shore. By the time I had pulled myself out, Aquarius appeared and carefully laid Dal Rin on the shore.

    *Master, you do know you can call me on your free time too~"


    "...bye Aquarius"


    Everything was fine about Aquarius except for that fliriting side of her. Sighing, I look at Dal Rin, who had started to cough as Aquarius had removed all the water blocking her airways before disappearing.


    "You alright?"


    "*cough* *cough* yeah.... thanks for saving me... so where exactly are we?"


    "...I''m not really sure, we just fell down for a little while before hitting that lake..."


    While answering her question and trying to figure out where we were a large roar erupted answering.


    *ROAAAAARRRR*


    "Ummm... Dal Rin... do you think..."


    "Yup...looks like we fell to the fifth floor..."


    As we were talking, a large figure came into the surroundings. It stood at about 8 meters with green scales surrounding its whole body. On its muscled four legs that it was standing on, 3 sharp claws prodded out from each end. On its shoulder were large wings that were currently folded. It was a dragon.


    "Foolish mortals! You dare to intrude on the lair of I, Galahad?!"


    "...well, it was nice knowing you Soo Hyun..."


    Seeing Galahad, Dal Rin deflates. Curious about this I ask


    "...why are you saying goodbye?"


    "...Galahad is a SSS rank monster you know? Even though he is young at only 100 years old, he is still a High Dragon..."


    "Ehhh~ thats what you were worried about? Don''t worry~~ I''ll go take care of him~"


    Saying that, I stand up and face away from the disbelief on Dal Rin''s face toward Galahad. Also I have a sudden idea. Lazily, I call out to him.


    "Oiiiiii young dragon~~"

    "?? You are young, aren''t you? Anyways lets not do this the hard way, just come over here and become my best friend''s protector okay?"


    Not being able to handle the audicity, Galahad roars furiously and charges.

    Seeing Galahad charge, Dal Rin panics and screams my name. Turning around, I try to calm her down.


    "Its fine its fine~~ just enjoy the view, okay?"


    Saying that, I turn and activate my special move!

    Yes folks, its exactly what you read. At the raging dragon that was charging at me, I released a Yakuza Kick..... well you couldn''t really say it was a regular one as it had enough force to send Galahad flying backwards. While lazily walking toward him, I say a few words.


    "Haa.... its always like this with you dragons.... why cant you be tame without a beating, huh?!"


    Saying that, what begins is a beating so bad that we won''t describe it here for the sake of Galahad. Dal Rin, with a dumbfounded expression looked on as I beat up the high dragon. As it went on, slowly her facial expression changed to a cringe then pity.


    About 30 minutes into the beating...


    "...you are strong, human"


    "Shut up and take the beating"


    An hour in...


    "...For the majestic I to be defeated!"


    "....Looks like you haven''t been beaten enough yet..."


    An hour and a half later...


    "... I... I admit defeat!! I will become your friend''s protector!!"


    "Shut up, how can I trust the word of you, a dragon?! For all I know, when we get to the surface you''ll betray us!"


    "?!?!"


    Two hours later....


    "Whew that was a good exercise~ Galahad~ You''ll become my friend''s pe... protector right?"


    "...!! I will die protecting him, master!!"


    Satisfied, I turn around to look at Dal Rin. She''s currently looking at Galahad who was all beaten up with pity. Feeling a little bad now, I talk to her.


    "I overdid it a little huh? He he... well sorry it took so long. Everyone''s probably panicking up there. You ready to go up?"


    Nodding her head, she smiles at me while extending her arm. While also smiling I grab her arm and gently put her on Galahad¡¯s back before going on in front of her.


    "Yo Galahad. Take us to the surface"


    "Yes, master"


    With that, Galahad extends his wing and begins flying up. Maybe because she was scared of falling, Dal Rin puts her arms around my waist while resting on my back, which makes me blush. Shortly after, we return to the surface to everyone''s shocked face and land.


    And thus, Ji Sub received his very own pe.... I mean protector.

 Chapter 5: Roswell

    A/N: Hey guys! Sorry for the long wait! This week I have entered war with


    the dark side known as work! And am badly losing! Haha kidding aside, I was


    trying to write this earlier but I was swamped. I''m hoping to release


    another chp around Sunday. So Enjoy!


    It has been a week since we arrived at the capital of Shilla, Goyeo. When we


    had returned we had parted with the representatives and promised to see each


    other again at the frontier town of Roswell 10 days from now. During the


    past ten days Ji Sub and I had constantly trained. Ji Sub trained from dawn


    to sun set, determined to become stronger. Seeing him like this made me


    proud. He should now be able to take care of S class monsters by himself.


    As I went to sleep the night before the war council, I noticed that I am in


    a dark room once again. Already guessing the situation, I turn around and


    see Alela.


    Alela, just like the first time we meet, was mesmerizing with the soft


    moonlight shining down on her. At one look you could tell that her beauty


    was not one that the likes of mortals could reach. Smiling as I turned


    around to face her, she began speaking.


    "Why hello there Soo Hyun"


    ".what''s the reason for this time Alela?"


    "Ho ho ho~ Nothing much. I saw your battle with that young High Dragon. Even


    I was impressed with your skill level. To think that you''re only 18"


    "You wouldn''t have called me here just to chit chat right?"


    "Whew, can''t we just enjoy simple talk?"


    "..I enjoy my sleep"


    "..Pfft..Ahahahaha! A mortal telling a Goddess to get to the point so they


    can''t sleep! As always, you''re an interesting person, Soo Hyun. No wonder


    Artemis favors you so much. Anyways, the reason I called you here was to


    give you a warning. You can only summon "her" once in this world"


    ".!! You know my summons?"


    "Of course I do. I asked Artemis about it and she sent me her own memories


    of your summons. Truthfully, it was quite terrifying. For a mortal to hold


    so much power.. Also even though I cannot predict if a situation dire enough


    for you to summon "her" will come, choose wisely"

    dire, I''ve never dared to. Even with my mana, the summoning will only last

    Hm.. So Artemis let Alela know about all my summons, huh? She really must


    favor Alela. From what I know, she has never told any others about my power.


    Why would she reveal the power of her own Guardian? Thinking up until there,


    I suddenly think of something.


    "Will a dire situation occur soon?"

    Damn.. I hate it when I''m right in this kind of situation.


    "Anyways, it shall soon be morning. Our time has ended"

    ...Why do I only meet goddesses that take away my precious sleep! Even


    Artemis was the same.. Sighing, I nod. Smiling, Alela waves her hand and I


    feel my conscious being sent back. As I slowly open my eyes, the first rays


    from the rising sun slip into my room from the window. Miserable at the loss


    of my most precious sleep, I slowly raise m upper body from the bed and


    prepare for today''s trek to Roswell. After I finished with my preparations,


    I pick up my bag and head to the courtyard.


    As I was relaxing under the shade of a large tree, I see that Ji Sub and


    Galahad had finished preparations and were heading towards me. Galahad was


    slowly trailing behind Hyun Jin as if he was trying to be shielded by his


    master. It was quite amusing to see a 30 ft tall young dragon acting like a


    puppy but geez I wonder why he was acting like that since we had departed


    the cave. Ji Sub had asked about it a couple times but I told him I dont


    know why.


    "Yo Ji Sub, you ready to go?"


    "Yeah just got done. I bet you''re dying to go to finally see "her again" heh


    heh"


    I ignore his comments as he''s been acting like a little girl about her ever


    since we returned. Anyways after another hour we begin our journey to


    Roswell.


    It was a comfortable travel as it was currently spring and the weather felt


    amazing. The view that Ji Sub and I see makes us sigh in amazement as there


    was almost no places that had this type of scenery on earth anymore.


    On the third day of travel, we finally arrive at Roswell. As we passed the


    last hill, a small city seemed to pop up from the ground. From what I could


    see at the moment, the city had a small wall that surrounded around fifty


    buildings. On the wall, there was already a guard detail made up of elves


    and dwarves that inspected us and our documents before allowing us into the


    town. As we move through the street, buildings with two to three floors high


    surrounded us. The houses were built with a wood foundation.


    As we neared our designated lodging, the children who had been playing at


    the fountain in the middle of the city saw us and ran over. Seeing the


    knights and JI Sub in their shiny armor, the children eyes begun to sparkle.


    "Wow! Look at how strong the knights look!"


    "That one in the middle with black hair looks really strong! Also beside him


    that guy in the robe must be a magician. So cool!"


    As more children started to gather, a little girl ran over also but tripped


    on a rock and started to fall. Ji Sub, was about to go catch the little


    child before she fell, but before he could he saw a blur and just chuckled.


    "As always, when it comes to children, you act with no hesitation haha"


    That blur had been me as I jumped over the children and caught the child as


    she was falling. Flinching in surprise at suddenly being touched, the child


    looked up after a few seconds. Seeing her surprised face, I smile and make


    sure she''s alright.


    "You okay?"


    Finally figuring that I had helped her out, her facial expression turns into

    Patting her on the head, I return to Ji Sub''s side and we continue forward.


    After a few minutes more of walking, a three story building stands before


    us. In front of the door, a sign hangs with a mermaid seeming to laugh with


    the words Laughing Mermaid on it. Knowing that this was the place we would


    stay at, we enter the hotel.


    What greeted our view as we entered the hotel was a very clean


    establishment. The floor, tables, bar, and walls were kept in tidy fashion.


    To our surprise, we saw that the establishment was empty. Since it was the


    afternoon, people usually would come for some drinks.


    A woman, seeing us enter, smiles and comes forward. The lady who stood at


    close to 5''4 was a little plump and she seemed to have passed into her


    forties. On her hair, blazing red hair curled down to her shoulder that


    matched quite well with her green eyes. Her face was friendly and she spoke


    kindly.


    "Why hello Hero, Soo Hyun nim. The Royal Family has already informed of us


    your coming and reserved the whole establishment. If you require anything,


    please feel free to inform me and we will assist you. Here are your keys.


    Both of your rooms are on the third floor at the end of the hall way. Dinner


    will be served in an hour"


    "Thank you. Soo Hyun and I will be down shortly for dinner"


    Saying that, Ji Sub takes the keys from the smiling lady as we go up to our


    rooms. After climbing the stairs to the third floor and reaching our rooms,


    we both enter our rooms.


    The room was simple yet had a peaceful atmosphere to it with the sun shining


    in through the large window at the opposite end. The large bed and the desk


    beside the hearth along with the chairs were the only furniture inside the


    room. It was quite spacious as even though the bed was a king size, the room


    still seemed to have a lot of empty space.


    Quickly I unpack my bag. After we both finish, we go downstairs and eat a


    quick bite before retiring for the night and waiting for tomorrow''s meeting.


    The next day, within the mayor''s audience room there was currently 11


    beings. The three highest ranking officers for all three armies were in


    attendance including us. At the moment, Ji Sub and I were sitting beside


    each other while massaging our foreheads.


    "That was the most retarded plan I have ever heard!! You want us to


    immediately get our armies together and invade the demon territory?! It must


    be true that dwarves have no brains because I can''t think of anyone who


    could say such things when they can think!!"


    "Wha...WHAT DID YOU SAY JUST NOW?!?! YE LOOKING FOR A FIGHT?! AHHH?!!"


    "Sigh both you are so ignorant and violent. Please calm down and talk


    calmly."


    ""SHUT YOUR MOUTH YOU DAMN PEACING LOVING TREE HUGGER!!""


    All three sides had been arguing for the past two hours about what was the


    best course of action from now on. The discussion up until now, however,


    seemed to be about who could insult the other worse. At first it was quite


    amusing to listen to them, but good lord it''s already been two hours with no


    end in sight!!


    As Ji Sub and I were trying to think up how to stop them from arguing, Dal


    Rin walks up from behind us and sits down in the empty seat beside me.


    "So how are you two enjoying the meeting?"


    "This is a meeting?! You don''t seem surprised. Is it always like this?"


    As Ji Sub questions her, I finally awake from my daze of looking at her.


    Oops I got myself distracted.


    "Yeah it''s always like this when all three races meet. This is actually the


    main reason we decided to make you the leader of the army since if we


    didn''t, we would never come to a decision. Haa.. It really does seem like


    they will go on for ages. I believe it''s your turn Mr. Hero to go up there


    and calm everyone down"


    Ji Sub looks at Dal Rin with a face of horror as if he wanted to rebuke how


    he coulddo that before letting out a huge sigh and dejectedly going to the


    chaos in the middle of the room.


    "Hey, Soo Hyun, how you been?"


    "...huh?!?! Oh hey I been alright how about yourself?"


    *giggle* "I''m not going to eat you, you know? You don''t have to act so


    nervous with me"


    "...eh heh I guess not huh?"


    As I slowly lose the nervousness I had, we begin having a light


    conversation, telling jokes and laughing with each other.


    "Ahaha eh really? JI Sub really got so nervous when a girl confessed to


    him?"


    "You should have seen him. His face looked as if it was about to burst and


    he started to stammer while thinking of a way to kindly refuse her. It was


    so damn funny ahahah"


    "Hahaha talking about him, he''s currently glaring at you"


    Damn. He really is glaring at me with a look that says if I don''t help him


    calm everyone down he''s going to make me pay dearly. Sigh just when it was


    going good with Dal Rin too.


    "Hey Dal Rin I''ll be right back after helping him out"


    "Haha alright see ya soon~"


    She tilts her head and smiles while waving at me. Damn, she''s way too cute.


    Even though she''s seems so elegant and majestic, she was outgoing and a very


    enjoyable conversation partner. I need to do this quickly and go back to


    her.


    I immediately go to the center of the hall and quickly chant a magic to


    amplify my voice before I yell.


    "JUST HOW LONG ARE YOU ALL GOING TO ARGUE FOR?! HAA?! YOU GUYS BEEN ARGUING


    SO LOUDLY AND FOR SO LONG I BET THE DEMONS HAVE HEARD US AND ARE ALREADY


    ALMOST HERE WITH A HUGE ARMY TO ATTACK US!! SO EVERYONE SHUT UP AND TAKE


    YOUR SEAT"


    Everyone looks at me with a stunned face, surprised at my sudden outbreak.


    Slowly, the representatives take their seats. Immediately afterwards as Ji


    Sub is about to begin speaking, a loud horn rings out throughout the town.


    .. What a shitty coincidence. Right when I say that, something like this


    happens.. I hate when this happens..


    Sighing, I rush out the door towards the wall

 Chapter 6: Lucifer

    Dal Rin¡¯s POV


    For the hundred years I have walked this world, I have always been bored. Since birth, I have always lived a sheltered life. Being the only child of the King, I was given the best of everything. Education, weapons instruction, training in magic, I learned from the best. My talent for swordsmanship and magic was quickly realized. Studying under the greatest of tutors possible, I quickly rose through the ranks, even being hailed by some as a genius.


    Even though I was so talented my father, however, refused to let me join the military or go on an adventure. Every time I asked, he said it was too dangerous for the next Queen. I understand that my father is worried. Ever since my mother had passed away, he has been a lot more protective of me. He doesn¡¯t want his daughter to get hurt. He wouldn¡¯t be able to bear it if even I died. I appreciate how much he cares about me, but it feels as if I¡¯m caged. I want to go out in the world, travel to many places and make a name for myself like those heroes of old!


    When I first heard that the humans had succeeded in summoning a hero, I was skeptical. Even if they did succeed, how good could their skills be? For all you know, they could have been random people summoned from a different world and have no experience with fighting at all.


    My father, the King of the Elves also came to the same conclusion. He decided he was going to send two high ranking military officials to see the strength of the hero. Seeing this as a chance, I immediately pounce! During dinner that time, I bring it up


    ¡°Father¡±


    ¡°Yes, my lovely daughter?¡±


    ¡°Please let me join the party heading to Goryeo¡±


    My father¡¯s face that had been smiling until then quickly turns into one of suspicion before reverting back.


    ¡°And why would you want to go?¡±


    ¡°Father, ever since I have been young, I have grown up with the stories of the heroes of old. How majestic they are! I would like to see for myself how strong a hero is. Also, it¡¯ll be safe since we¡¯ll be in the Imperial Palace right? So please let me go, papa?¡±


    I use my special attack, the puppy eyes! My father has a difficult expression on his face as he contemplates. Even though he worries about my safety, I would be going with two of the strongest warriors in our race and also we would be in the Imperial Palace the whole time. After thinking about it for a while, he sighs and gives in.


    ¡°Fine, I understand. How could I say no to such a beautiful lady?¡±


    ¡°Papa!¡±


    At that, I run over and hug my smiling father. He hugs me back firmly. I really am lucky to have such a caring father. Thinking that, we finish our dinner and I prepare for tomorrow.


    The next day, I use the teleportation portal and arrive at Goryeo with the military officials. While we wait for the dwarven representatives to arrive, I collect information. I was surprised to find out that during the summoning, the humans had accidently summoned another person. The rumors of the audience with the king reached me. I felt pity for the young man, being dragged into our world forcefully and not even receiving the blessings that the hero did in the process. He was just a normal guy.


    When we all gathered, I finally got to see the hero and Soo Hyun. The hero was handsome. He stood at 6¡¯2 with black hair. He had an athletic build that let you know he had been trained his body very hard. I was impressed. I thought the hero would most likely be some random nobody that never trained himself. I clearly was wrong. Soo Hyun didn¡¯t lose out to him much either. He stood a little taller than the hero and also had nice black hair. I can¡¯t really tell how his body is, however, as his robes hide it. While I was looking at him, he turns his head and meets my eyes. While I smile at him, he blushes a little and turns his head.


    During the test for the Hero, he performed excellently. I was pleasantly surprised. He was as strong as the top three warriors in our race while only being eighteen. He would grow a lot and become a fine hero. Just as the king of Shilla was about to announce the next match, I finally go into action and have it set so that Soo Hyun¡¯s test is at the Cave of Sorrow. Truthfully I feel a little bad. Only the strongest go to the Cave of Sorrow. I plan on using him to go there and kill some monsters.


    I, however, was terribly mistaken. Soo Hyun takes care of all the monster with ease by himself. He was the strongest person I had ever met, even more so than the battle crazed trolls. I was shocked. When we met the High Dragon Galahad I seriously believed we would die but Soo Hyun easily beat the dragon up with his bare hands and feet.


    Seeing that, it recalls in my mind the stories of the heroes of old. Surely they weren¡¯t much stronger than the person in front of me. The beating was so bad that I, for the first time in my life, felt sorry for a monster. While I was stunned, Soo Hyun had finally finished and came over with Galahad. He stretched his hand out with a smile on his face. The figure of him on Galahad¡¯s back while stretching his hand toward me was truly majestic.


    *Ba Bump* *Ba Bump*


    My heart started to race at the scene. Back in Moon City, there were many suitors that desired my hand. None, however, interested me and I push them all away. My father was worried about me since I couldn¡¯t find anyone who took my heart. This human, however, finally started making my heart race. Hmm¡­ is this what people call love? Since I¡¯ve never felt it before, I do not know. Oh well, I can figure it out later.


    While I was thinking that, I grab onto Soo Hyun¡¯s outstretched arm and go onto Galahad¡¯s back. This was my first experience of flying. At first, subconsciously, I become afraid and wrap my arm tightly around Soo Hyun¡¯s waist. At the sudden action, Soo Hyun had turned around. Ahhh! So embarrassing. I put my head into his back so that I can hide my embarrassment. After a short while, we finally reached the surface and everyone.


    When everyone saw us returning. Their faces were in shock, especially when Soo Hyun told everyone that Galahad had requested to become the Hero¡¯s guardian. Even though it wasn¡¯t believable, the rest shook their head as they believed there was no other way they could have come back with the High Dragon. High Dragons were very prideful and would not bow down their heads to anyone lower than them. It¡¯s not like the two of us subjugated him right? Oh how foolish these people were, not being able to see that Soo Hyun was a figure that passed even a hero.


    Unfortunately, after we returned to Goryeo, we all parted ways. Thankfully there was another meeting between the three races at Roswell soon and I could see Soo Hyun again. Thinking that, I go back to Moon City and eagerly await the war council.


    Finally on the day of the war council, I see him again. Seeing him laughing with Ji Sub brought a smile to my face. Ah, I really missed that laid back personality of his. When I see him look at me, I smile and wave. At suddenly being smiled at, he blushes and awkwardly waves back before rushing off. He is cute, isn¡¯t he? Tee hee. While smiling at that thought, the war meeting starts. At first the meeting starts off positively with everyone talking. But soon, as expected the arguing began.


    While everyone is arguing, I slowly get a headache. Sigh why is it that every time the three races get together like this all they can do is argue? While thinking such things I spot Ji Sun and Soo Hyun off the sides rubbing their foreheads. I inwardly smile. Usually, it would be up to me to stop the arguments since I held the highest position, but since JI Sub is the hero, I plan to push that job off to him while I talk to Soo Hyun.

    Thinking that, I walk up to them. After explaining it to them, Ji Sub keeps switching his glance from me and the arguing with a look of horror. Sighing dejectedly, he stands up and attempts to settle everyone down.


    While he goes off to do his duty Soo Hyun and I begin to talk. At the beginning he seemed so nervous and as if he didn¡¯t know what to do. So cute! I tease him a little bit to loosen him off and we have a light talk that was very enjoyable. When was the last time I had such a carefree and relaxing conversation with someone? After we had been conversing for a little bit Soo Hyun stands up dejectedly after being glared at by Ji Sub and goes yell at everyone to shut up. It was quite amusing to see. Hm, I hope we have more opportunities to casually speak as I had enjoyed that talk a lot. As I was thinking that the sound of horn reach us and we immediately went to the front gate.


    ¡°Wh¡­What the hell is this?!?!¡±


    From the view of the wall, thousands of demons could be seen swarming the plains in front of us. There was at least five thousand demons out there. The majority of the demons were humanoid types that stood at 6¡¯0, had bulging red muscles and two horns poking the top of their heads. They wore no armor and were carrying massive great axes.


    Towering above them were giants with one eye: Cyclops. These massive figures stood at 10¡¯ with their wrinkling gray skins.  These Cyclops were all carrying large trees that must have been hundreds of years old like clubs.


    In the air, large birds the size of war horses were hovering. They had thin membrane like wings and shark faces that ended with beaks. I had read about these beasts before: Wyverns. Wyverns were pack d or humans.


    Looking at the representatives, I see that all of their faces have paled and were beginning to panic. There were three hundred Soldiers here, a hundred from each race. If you include us on the wall, that is thirty additional personnel. If you had to face five thousands demons that were in front of your eyes with only three hundred and thirty Soldiers, you¡¯d be scared stiff also. The only ones calm were Ji Sub and Soo Hyun.


    ¡°*whistles* that¡¯s quite a few demons¡±


    ¡°Aren¡¯t you scared Ji Sub?¡±


    ¡°Usually, I¡¯d be scared shitless right now but seeing you so calm helped me relax¡±


    I¡¯m shocked at how calm they were. Even though this should be their first time seeing the demons, not to mention such a large number, but here they are calm and having a conversation.


    ¡°So anyways, Ji Sub, you¡¯re the military history nerd here. What do you think is the best way to get out this situation?¡±


    When Soo Hyun asks Ji Sub what he thinks we should do, Ji Sub begins pondering. After thinking about it for a while, he lets Soo Hyun know.


    ¡°Truthfully we are too outnumbered. An enemy force usually needs three times the amount of defenders to defeat them at a fortification. The walls, however are too low and we have too few Soldiers to defend them. The demons also have those flying demons so it¡¯d be suicide¡­ The best option we have, and it is still highly unlikely that we¡¯ll survive, is to find where their units are thinnest and attempt to charge through them¡±


    At this, I pale. Even though what Ji Sub is said does have the highest probability that some of us will survive, many will also die. While contemplating the many deaths in the future, I look over to Soo Hyun. He grimly nods at the suggestion and begins to ponder. Hm¡­. I wonder what he¡¯s worrying about.


    Per Ji Sub¡¯s plan, everyone begins to prepare for the charge. Even though all the representatives¡¯ face had difficult expressions on them when they heard it, everyone nodded. Everyone knew many lives would be lost doing this but that this also was the only way that some would survive. Right now, we were all in front of the gate and preparing our mounts.


    As I finish preparing my saddle, I notice Soo Hyun in the front. Without even knowing why, my body moves toward him. Hm, I wonder why I just did that. Maybe I just wanted to die alongside a person I had become friends with. Noticing me, Soo Hyun¡¯s eyes widen for a brief moment before he smiles at me.


    ¡°Hey Dal Rin. For this charge, stay behind me. I promise I¡¯ll protect you¡±


    Hearing his words and seeing that smile, my eyes start to moisten. Ah... even though were about to go die, if I die while fighting beside him, I¡¯ll have no regrets.


    Once everyone has finished saddling up, JI Sub gives a final speech to everyone before we head out the gate. At first, we begin in a trot toward the demon forces on their right, where their flank was thinnest. Slowly, the group quicken their pace. Soon, we are all in a full sprint. My heartbeat start to match the beating of warhorses¡¯ hooves. Adrenaline starts to pump throughout my body. I will survive this!


    When we¡¯re less than ten meters away from the demon¡¯s front ranks, Soo Hyun suddenly does a front flip off his horse and starts rushing forward. Seeing him do this makes me worried but then it quickly disperses as he mutters.


    ¡°Moonlight Sword Form four, Meteor Falls!¡±


    With that shout, he leaps forward. As his speed increases dramatically, a burning aura surrounds him and he charges into the demons. Surprised at the sudden action, the demons panic and are tore through by Soo Hyun as he keeps going forward, opening a path for us. Seeing Soo Hyun, the scene reminds me of a beautiful shooting star crossing the night sky. It was dazzling.


    As our party follows behind Soo Hyun, we hack at any demons that attempts to near us. For one hundred meters, all that could be heard was the thunderous hoof beats from the war horses and sounds of metal striking against flesh as we continued charging. I start to gain some hope. Maybe we will pull through this?


    Unfortunately, however, it was a foolish hope. Slowly, but surely, Soo Hyun starts to slow down as he cannot maintain his momentum. Soldiers are getting picked off one by one. As I turn my head to the scream of one of them, I feel a sudden impact on my left and I fall to the ground with a small screech. As I slowly get up I see that the demons are starting to circle around me.


    Ah, so this is how I¡¯m going to die. I wish I had spent more times with my family and friends, more time with Soo Hyun. Ah ra? Where did Soo Hyun come from? As I smile at those thoughts I pull out my sword so that I can take down as many of them with me as I can when I suddenly heard a terrifying incantation that sent shivers down my spine.

    I slowly turn toward Soo Hyun who had just said the incantation. A large shadow appeared underneath him. Everyone around him, allies and foes, quickly get out of the shadow as they felt dread from looking at it. A form slowly ascends as if it was the devil itself.


    What first appeared was 3 long ebony horns. Slowly, a sinister face of a midnight black  appears along with the neck, leathery wings and a huge body. As it was appearing from the shadow, Soo Hyun was rising along with it on its head. At full height it was one hundred meters tall while looking at once majestic and sinister.


    What had appeared was a Dragon.
