《The Nature of Blood》 Beginning of Blood You could say my life was a peaceful one. I had a family that loved me, a close group of friends that cared for each other, and even a few romantic interests. At the ripe age of 19 the world seemed so open and free, the grades I succeeded in obtaining after 4 years of rigorous high school classes in a prestigious but out of place school of health in the mountains of New Mexico. Such warm places with so much wild life appealed to me immensely. One could say it was fate that brought me here. After High school I attended college nearby for a broad range of things, from anatomy, to plant life. My true love was for plants. Some say that women are the most beautiful things on earth, although I agree with such a statement, nature ties in first. Being the first in class, intelligent was a word that probably came with the thought of Brett Largo. I absorbed knowledge as though I was a sponge. I worked with my biology professors on a regular basis, discovering the secrets plants hold. How they live so long, how cells grow, things of the sort. Everything seemed to be laid out for me, my path in life would be a biologist or maybe a doctor if after this next year I still had the passion. My true passion was the plant research. I would do my own little experiments, creating concoctions to help plants grow. I would cut a gash in a bonsai then use my serums to test the plant. Eventually the research bore fruit and I was able to do some weird things if you will with such life. My plants took on a sort of.....how would you say.....human characteristic. I would never hurt the plant after the initial gash for fluid insertion...if you could truly hurt a plant. My lovely companions would caress my had whenever I went to stroke their leaves, or measure their growth. It triggered a strange response in me, I sort of felt like a father giving life, maybe a god in a fantasy bestowing life upon a being of which cannot think. The first time in my entire life I believe I was happy beyond the point of leaping up and down was when my bonsai proceeded to uproots itself, and crawl up my torso and rest around my neck. Now this was not because "she", well let''s call it a "she" tickled my belly button on the ride up. Let''s just say outties are sensitive. Now...let''s get one think strait, at this point I may have feared for my life a little in that the being I bestowed sentient life was collared around my life line and not moving. One of its branches stretched to my forehead, I felt as though I possesed an extra arm, then I flexed the arm, the bonsai moved its northernmost branch. It was that moment that memories flooded my mind, places I have not seen, a temple, a Chinese man, no a Korean human based on the language of his shirt gently clipped my extremities. I felt good, not painful at all. I started getting nervous with this sudden burst of feeling and emotion. But all was at ease when it spoke to me. Bonsai: "Ah, father can you hear me?" Myself:" Yes" Bonsai:" I am sorry for the mind swap, I laid us down due to my lack of courage to control your limbs." Myself: ''How can I hear this plant, am I hallucinating, I have always wished to be a father, maybe due to my lack of emotion towered anything else.'' Through my life my emotions seemed dulled. They were there of course, but life simply went on and on. So many school shooting, so many wars, deforestation was what got me the worst, so many things we did not depend on such as human lives were executed, but the plants that we absolutely relied on were executed as well. Humans live a mundane life, working jobs for years on end to buy shit they do not need. The lifestyle of people around me, those who only think of peace, do not realize the danger they are actually in. The danger others live in every day around the world ranging from oppression to civil war. I wanted to live a simple life, that is why I live in a 4 room house with my brother, a senior in the high school I went to down the road from my university. My brother had the same interest as I and read the same books, wanted the same jobs, and had the same interests as I. Brett: "Just a moment" Bonsai: "I will wait here" The plant leaps off of my shoulders with the grace of a cat and plots down on the spot. I scramble from my feet, open my private room door, exit said door, and sprint down the hallway. Brett: "BRYCEEEEEEEEEE" Bryce: "YOU WONT FUCKING BELIEVE WHAT I AM SEEING RIGHT NOW" Brett: "I BET I CAN" I open the door to the backyard and witness the single most incredible thing I have seen in my entire life. A 10 foot tall willow tree bear hugging my brother, then as though on cue of my voice, was already at the door waiting for my arrival, the giving me a hug as well. Bryce:" I cannot believe your research created....well....this" Brett: (Whisper)"Be careful what you say, they may want to hurt us" I truly did believe this may be dangerous, although the affectionate plant thought otherwise. At the finish of my sentence I felt a sensation on my neck, the bonsai had returned, it spoke aloud shocking myself and my brother. It was a tongue I have never heard, and it certainly was not a romantic language. I was well versed in Latin, Mandarin, Japanese, and of course English. The speech it produced soothed my body instantly, it felt as though I was ready to listen to my killer commit his crime of murder to myself. I was at peace. The bonsai proceeded to touch my forehead with the willows most northern branch, the proceed to do the same with my kin. Instantly a torrent of emotions flooded my peaceful soul. Affection, anger, love, and affection......mostly affection. With this connection however, a flood of memories came with it. A world of which I have never seen. Creatures that have never been viewed on earth, ever, and people with....is that a sword? I replayed the movie in my mind. Swords, shields...more affection, and....magic? I witnessed a compressed flash being released from the hands of a sorceress, being projected at a, beast? My god, for an instant my vision returns to reality, my pupils meet my kin''s, we exchange a glance, and we smile. Why did I smile, because this vision is more badass than anything I have witnessed, movie, manga, novel, you name it, my brother and I have read it. If we were not outside in nature reading textbooks, you can bet we were outside reading a fantasy. My eyes were dragged back into my "dream". The sorceress unleashed all hell upon the enemy, this magic was not the glittery kind you would expect to see in children''s novels, but this magic was created to kill, a weapon of mass destruction, men cried, women cried, every warrior struck with the charged particles was vaporized, or was begging to die after becoming mutilated. Electricity ran its course, non discriminating against the, what appeared to be beast men, humans, and elves against the sorceress and her mage squad and the rest of their army. I deduced this due to the clear median of armies that clashed, and the barriers surrounding the upon closer inspection gorgeous shock mage. My reality was again pulled back to New Mexico. I tasted salt, upon a cursorily glance downward it was revealed to be a tear, it must have been from how cool the fight had been. Bonsai: "How would you like to live in such a place" Brett/Bryce:"You have lived in our house for 2 years what the hell do you think" Bonsai:"Whoa, was that synch of words staged, well anyway, if you were to go, you would be merged with one of us, the soul would then be by means of transmutation, planted in the soil of the new world" Brett:"Would we still be able to communicate, and how do you have such a power" Bonsai: "The knowledge is locked to insentient plants" Brett:"Will we retain our thoughts after the teleportation?" Bonsai:"Indeed you will" Brett:" Alright I choose willow, Bryce you take Bonsai, I always had a feeling she like you more anyways" Bryce:"Hahahaha, she always did seem to perk up when I entered the room" Bonsai:"Ehemmm, do you want to or not, I personally want to go" Willow releases Bryce but continues to embrace me, I had the feeling of being in a mothers womb if such terminology is appropriate for this feeling. It was as though I was invincible, it seemed as though I could not be hurt, it was the feeling someone has when they are in their bed, safe at home, the covered themselves with 3 or 4 comforters. The feeling was intoxicating. I immediately replied with the nod of my head, my brother does the same, I giggle at his lack of danger, although I cannot speak on his behalf, my answer was even faster than his. Willow nods "her".....head? And then I see nothing. The warm embrace has been replaced with the feeling of being in a bath. A warm, hard coined smelling, bath. Now at this time I begin to panic, a sudden relaxation takes over, I realize it is willow influencing me somehow. I try to speak but alas I cannot. It seems as though my throat was filled with peanut butter, or maybe just not there at all. I try to move my arm, and it pushes through a film layer. My nerve endings touch.....dirt? It was definitely dirt. The feeling of fluids continues to pour over me, I enjoyed the feeling. My other arm penetrates the film just as easily. An continues to experience the same sensation. The fluid touches my arm, and is absorbed into my "skin". It invigorates me, it seems to be a supplement of sorts. I allow the supplement inside of my cocoon of which the rest of my body is stored in, currently only my arms have left the womb, and currently a leg penetrates the womb as well. With the same power rush as before, the leg absorbs the nutrients. This continues for days. My body grows, more limbs exit the womb, more supplements enter my body. I stay relaxed though, if this was my other world I knew for an absolute fact I would have panicked. Others would not call be claustrophobic, and I did not either, but a replica situation of some dare devil stunt of being buried in a coffin was in the back of my mind. I began to wonder where my brother was, why I was growing so fast, and why the hell it felt so good to be in the dark. Brett: ''Damn it willow let me think for myself'' Immediately a sense of panic envelops me, the euphoria from before dissipates into nothingness. I do not respond to this feeling. Shutting off such feelings I begin to think logically. Well fuck, where am I. That was a good start I thought in relative calmness to the situation. If I truly am in a fantasy world that would be awesome, but it seems as though I am underground.....wait. I am a plant aren''t I. I was thoroughly warned but not of the consequences, I should have fucking interrogated Bonsai. Well hopefully I can grow strong like they do in the fantasies I read. Maybe even evolve, I always did enjoy nature, maybe I can prevent it from being fucked up like in my other world. A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation. I feel a sense of affection and constriction from the womb at this thought, I realize willow is still present. I do not know how much time has passed but I deduce a week since I came to be teleported to a new world, I wonder how Bryce is. I miss my only family. This entire time the fluid has been filtering into my limbs, into the womb, and then permeates through my "skin". But after it leaves, it seems, dull. I notice myself growing larger, and stronger. Now I can move the dirt around me. I feel something growing inside the womb, but cannot see. Recently my senses have heightened. I have less numbness in my limbs, and I can "hear" vibrations from above. They are shouting in words I cannot understand. This has gone on for days. On the 12th day of being suppressed in the dirt I finally "hear" something that would stop my heart if I had one, it sounded like a thunder strike. It was the sorceress..... I had no doubt in my mind at this point that the fluid I have been absorbing has been blood. I have never been one for germs, even now this did not repulse me, but hopefully the blood continued to come, continue to feed me. With previous knowledge, I know that My body is growing at a pace unimaginable on earth. At this point I knew I was a plant, hopefully one with combat capabilities. With blood continuing to flow into me I heard stillness come upon the battlefield above me. At this point my limbs were stretched 5 feed in all directions, acting as a sort of pan to filter all of the blood through the womb in the center connecting all 4 limbs. It seemed that doing this gave me the most power, and continued to form my body into a sort of...humanoid shape. Currently the womb was around 4 feet long going into the ground, and my extremities were around 5 feet long each. When everything went silent, I listened, and then I felt. The most pleasurable moment in my entire life was when I first lost my virginity, but this, well this trumped that many times over. Immediately when this new, delicious, powerful fluid touched my right arm, my entire body was enticed with it, I exploded with power towered the new found source of power, all of my strength from my previous life seemed to have returned to me, and more. My body snaked through the dirt with extreme precision. After the first sip of this new supplement, my body has grown stronger, more sturdy, more...dangerous. My womb has slipped off my body, my senses have heightened, and my thought more clear. I finally made contact with something on the surface, no pain was felt in my..... "head"? I move my limbs to caress the object that is a few feet longer and a bit wider that myself. I tear myself through the dirt and face the object on the ground. I am staring at the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. A reel of memories flash in my mind of the Lightning mage, I am focused on deep purple eyes, but her ears are slightly elongated, she quickly pulls me into her embrace. Elf:"Shhhhh" I remain silent, she flips her body to face the ground, laying on top of me, it feels safe. She starts whispering in a language I do not understand. I give her a confused look, she begins to repeat the same sentence over and over. I hear a soft motherly voice in my mind speaking broken English until it begins to make sense. Elf:"I was wondering what I *cough* felt growing in power underground" Brett:"......." Elf:"Be careful young spirit, you have been given life due to the mana concentration in the soil soaked blood" Brett:"Ah....that''s what happened" I immediately realized what had happened. The blood filtered through the womb, where my head and torso had been, then concentrated into a sort of crystal like substance. I glance down at myself, currently face to face with the elf still though. Without looking at her ample bosom...ehemmm.... too much.... I admired my dark mahogany skin, it was red, streaked with red, blood red. Elf:*Seems too speechless to talk* At this point I assumed it was Willow helping me communicate, if the elf understood me that had to be the case. Elf:"*Chuckle* this is a first, you must have absorbed quite the amount of mana from this useless battlefield. Brett:"What do you mean!" Elf:"Shhhh, shut up or they will *cough* hear" I assumed I was not welcome by somebody and shut my mouth to gain some information from the elf. My senses were still returning from the blood lust pleasure I felt earlier, but the power still flowed into me. I took a second glance down, definitely not at the elf''s breasts, and notice a large gash on her stomach. I realized what had awoken me had been the elf''s blood. The mana concentration must have been astronomical if one dose of her affected me in a way that hundreds of gallons of regular soldier''s life elixir had not stimulated me to such an extent. I reached one of my hands down to her stomach and pushed the entrails back into her stomach, starting with....well the stomach. Nothing seemed damaged aside from her leather armor and the gash creating the wound. After inserting the goods, I traced my arm on the cash, then punctured the stomach, right before another spill of blood fell on my body which was quickly absorbed. Elf: "You are new to this world...*She pauses to wince in pain* how do you know such a technique" I keep silent, and continue to use a "Splinter" or maybe a detached part of my blood streaked mahogany skin to stitch her wound shut. After a surgery well completed, quite a textbook one too I might add, she startles me with something I did not expect. She embraces me, and touches my forehead, who she is begins to pour into my mind. EXCACTLY the same as when Willow first touched mine, a story plays. She is the head of the mage division in the kingdom of Trent. As an elf she has always been close with nature, but upon seeing me knows she will never see something like me again. I feel her emotion upon seeing my body. Roughly the size of my old body now after the bloody meal, the reel continues. How she learned magic, where she lived, and a general map of the current continent we were on filled my head. As if the knowledge was mine to begin with, the reason for the battle came as well. Trent versus the kingdom of Tarn for the most easily accessible landing area on this newly discovered continent. Elf: "I will forever remember your blessing young spirit. I owe you my life." She strokes her stomach gently where my skin merges with her own infusing with each other. It glows red, the spreads around her stomach creating a red wood tattoo of antlers. I look around the area and see thousands, tens of thousands of dead bodies, burned, mangled, sliced, you name it, tons of corpses surrounding our location. She seems to think this area is still dangerous, so I decided to move us to a safer location. I recalled the reel of memories that were bestowed upon me by either Willow or the elf, maybe even a higher being that is looking out for me, and I use what is termed in fantasy as nature magic. I reached deep into the center of my blood crystal that I feel has manifested inside of me, and forcibly will it to create limbs on my back. The magic does not fail me, it is in fact a second limb, or at least it seems so. Elf: "Your talent for nature magic is truly frightening" She says in a reserved way, as though she knows I will not harm her. It seems she knows I will not hurt her. Well, I drag us to the nearest forest edge and we rest there. Nature magic seems incredible. After she spoke the word frightening I start pondering the combat capabilities of such a technique. After I saved the elf from what I do not know, we began to talk. I did not reveal my lack of knowledge of the world. I simply asked her generic questions, and she responded as though she were my servant. She spoke with respect, and never seemed to lie. I learned many things in the 3 days we sat there. It seemed she ate mana from our surroundings, due to being a high mage she could life off of raw mana for weeks at a time and required no food or water, a branch of nature magic known as Survival Sustain. It seemed I innately knew this magic as my body cycled through the technique continuously since I was underground filtering the blood. She spoke of the reasons of fighting, about nature magic, and even lightning magic. She knew not if "Spirits" she seemed to call me one of such a race, could learn any other magic. She had never been "lucky" or "blessed" enough to do so before. After I stitched her, we could telepathically speak, it seems to be a form of nature magic she said. When she said this, I tried a technique that Willow seemed to want me to try. I brought my northernmost branch, which happened to be my antlers to her forehead in a sort of Eskimo kiss. She blushed slightly, then gasped in shock. She immediately stood and bowed in front of me. I could not even comprehend what happened as she stood so fast. She spoke in slurred telepathic translations about how amazingly fast I grew and how much potential I had, and how I could guard all of nature. Eventually she rose but continued to kneel with a large smile on her face. The arch mage sure was cute I thought. Along with her knowledge of magic I received her personal information such as her three sizes...ehemmm.....and general knowledge, I do not know how much she know of me though, probably allot, I will not ask her though. I do not want to know it is quite embarrassing to have your life watched as a movie. But the next sentence relayed all the information I needed to know. Elf:"Do you know where Bryce is?" I sigh inwardly, I telepathically respond to her with a no. I hear a rustling in the bushes. Two wolf beast men appear and beeline to the elf. The bloodlust they release is intoxicating. I feel invigorated. It seems they have not noticed be, but the clearly notice the elf. They are almost drooling with lust. I use nature magic, to will my right arm to merge with some of my torso and create a spear. I stood up from behind the elf. I look surprisingly humanoid now, but possess antlers the size an adult white tailed deer would have. The give a look of shock and grovel at my feet muttering words of apology, I pierce both beast men through their heads and absorb the blood through my arm. I feel noticeably stronger, noticeably faster, and noticeably more dangerous. The elf remains stunned at my display of power. I have only been alive roughly two weeks in this world after all. And so far, it seems like it is going to be quite entertaining. Oh, how I wonder what Bryce is doing. Training In Blood Delicious was all I could think the moment the thick fluid permeated my skin. My mind sort of clouds over, even though I am still capable of logical thought. I remember being awake for 3 nonstop day completing an assignment on the biology of plant cells in comparison to a humans, I could still complete the assignment, but I was on a sort of autopilot. Well, this was sort of like that. The wolf man''s blood induced a sort of nirvana. I retracted the makeshift biological weapon to reshape back into the right side of my body. I originally planned to use only my arm, but adding more mass to the spear by merging my right torso in with the spear was absolutely devastating. I myself was shocked at the speed I propelled my makeshift limb to reap the souls of my opponents. My arm never left the second victim, instead I decided to test the bounds of nature magic, but not here. Brett:¡±Elf, pick up the other body, were getting the fuck outta here¡± Elf:¡±Yes¡± I believe she already figured what I was going to do with the bodies, after all, it was her own body that gave my first shock of power. The beast man blood seemed to add a new edge to the power I tasted. With the elf it was a pleasurable experience that concentrated in my core, what I presumed to be the center of my life. With this, we pushed farther into the forest. When I deemed the area to be sufficiently.....stocked with "livestock", I commanded the elf to drag the bodies into a tree and wait for me. I was a man....plant with a plan, and nothing was going to stop me this time. I began to wander the area, searching for prey. Using nature magic, I thinned my body against the ground, the slinked around trees as to not disturbed my prey. The first animal I came across resembled a lion, but stood on 2 feet. I figured he possessed tremendous power due to the bulging muscle on his body. I decided to try something new. While hiding myself in the tree, I attempted nature magic, but not on myself, but on the roots of the tree I am currently standing on. Now, the sensation when using such magic on myself was strange, it felt as though my own consciousness was permeating through my body, willing myself to change form. But when I used it on this tree I received a strange response. ???: "You cannot command me, for you are not the spirit of this territory" Brett: (Sigh) "Come-on man, I don''t want to die fighting that thing" The reason I wanted to fight this beast man was due to the aurora he possessed. It seems as though small flames flicker on his mane, I figured it was due to magic. He was some sort of lion humanoid variant. Where there is magic there is mana, when there''s mana in beast men, well, there is blood, and that my friends is what I love best. I do not want to risk dying right after coming to this world, I suppose I can take out some of the others first. It bugs me, the damned tree spoke as if I was commanded by this "spirit" as well. I suppose some instinct awakened in me when I was given a new body in this world, and let''s just put it this way, nothing is going to fuckin tell me what to do. I need a goal in this world, beginning with finding my brother. He''s always been resourceful, and loves fantasy, and is better than me at most RPGs....so he should be fine, especially with Bonsai guiding him. But before this I will need to gain some strength. I will set the bar at this alphas level. When I am able to defeat this variant alpha feline, I will begin to travel. On my way back to the tree I decided to test some more nature magic. I always remember this being a regenerative force, also a way to shape biology, also to.....wait. I believe the skill was called [Cell Crystal]. It allowed me to increase attack and defense in a game I once played. Quite the game if I remember, it was extremely flexible in mechanics, and ways to clear dungeons and use magic was quite interesting. Anyway, I decided to try such a technique. I need to find a place to stay first, it seems the alpha has heard a sound, that came from my feet, tentacles, well my multiple extremities that I have been using to quickly traverse the ground. I decided to try my luck and find some protection with another tree, I prayed that one bad apple did not spoil the bunch. Currently I was five or six miles away from the Elf, I really should care enough to learn her name, after all, I have some wicked plans for her in the future, especially after the reverence she showed me earlier. On my way to find a new place to stay for a bit, I executed two more wolf men to fuel my "training". Hopefully consuming more blood into my crystal will continue to allow me to grow. While I was stalking from tree to tree, I spotted two of the humanoid wolfs. I deemed it dangerous to take both on at once, even though I was able to earlier did not mean they could not retaliate, after all they were shocked previously after they saw some humanoid plant "spirit" pop up from behind a crouched elf, it was like some flippin ghost jump scare. I chuckled to myself thinking of how scared I was of that movie, in comparison to how calm I was in that situation. This time I decided to use some actual magic. This time I hid behind a tree, maybe 25 meters away from the duo, who seemed to be slightly wounded, they were probably deserters from the battlefield, as I do not know the current inhabitants of this new land besides the information the elf taught me, which was limited to the war for territory, including humans, elves, and beast men. I merged my right abdomen into a sort of twined spear, it glimmered in the sunlight. It was black, with red streaks of dull red through it, like a hard forged spear that was dripping with never drying blood. After admiring the weapon, I tried to detach it from my body. The process was slow, but not painful. Imagine holding a branch around five feet long, and your hand cannot fit around it, but if you brought over your other, you would easily be able to. And sharp. Very sharp, it seemed I can meld my body into whatever shape I truly wanted. Now hold the branch, then gently pull, allowing minimal pressure, as though you are trying to help a baby stand by holding it''s hand. Then, while the stick is detaching, it immediately heals, allowing for no insides to show, no rings, nothing. As simple as that. Now comes the freaky part. It is hovering, and all I have to do is will it to move. the potential I see in this ability is outstanding, I must test if I can use telekinesis on anything besides myself later, maybe on the elf.....hahaha I can see it now you poor woman. This is the tricky part, shoving thought of joking around with my servant for later I decide to try out my newly formed weapon. While staying behind my tree I glance down at my right side......wait. My right abdomen and arm are a slightly less red hue than before. Now it is shinier, as though you wiped me down with a hardwood floor solvent. I need to kill these wolf men to get back to my restore what was lost. I do not know if this indicates a loss of power, but I think it is safe to assume so. I will my spear to move as fast as it can. I subconsciously shove my right hand forward towards the humanoids, it seems this helps with the unspoken incantation of the "spell". 20 meters, 15 meters, 10 meters, 5 meters, then. It stops. As though hitting a wall my spear drops. Nonexistent beads of sweat form on my brow, well my dryad head. FUCK, what happened, clearly the wolf men did not stop it, they are in a frenzy....hahaha. Have you ever scared a dog on hard wood before, know how it scrambles to stand then runs in a random direction, well that is what is happening before my eyes. Damn it get yourself together Brett. I make a step to start climbing the tree, and both of the humanoids eye me with bloodlust in their eyes. Then, they race towards me. Even when I was a child when friends were chasing me, I always had a sense of danger in the back of my mind, a tingling of the spine speaking to me like instinct to choose flight over fight. But this time, it was different. A sense of peace came upon me, wind flowed through my streamlined body, then as though the adrenalin hit me like a chorus at a concert my body went sort of numb, a shock of pleasure flowed through my feet, up my spine, and to my brain, I was ready to fight. I hear a loud base in the distance, I think it is Willow casting some sort of frenzy on my body, allowing me to fight as I previously planned. I''m ready to kill. With a newfound power, I come from behind the tree, the bastards were 10 meters away and closing. I bend down like an Olympic runner at the gates, I will strength to my lower limbs. At this point after body manipulation I have 5 "legs" like roots of a tree. Two were human like, two came from my mid to upper back, sitting below my shoulders but lower, and into the ground, and one from my middle lower back to stabilize. The way they move was so graceful, and I immediately loved the form. Then I sprung into action. I leapt, like a bullet, the in mid air manipulated both arms to form one drill that did not spin in front of me. But I was so streamlined, with my legs tucked together, like an arrow. My body following the cone in front of me heading directly for the stomach of the first wolf man. I did not feel any resistance. By the time I was standing again, with a smile on my face. The other wolf man was still running at the tree I was previously at.......then he slowed down as if he knew his fate......then glanced back to see my second attempt at telekinesis. Let''s just say I did not fail this time. It came from above, as to not alert it of an attack. The pierced its head with such ferocity, that it entered the ground below him. As though life left him at that instant it crumbled to the ground in a heap of flesh that simply was sprawled on the ground, while still being set up by the......support rammed through his carcass. I think I almost squealed with delight at my spear working. Then I manipulated the spear to slowly but surely retract from his body, then I threw it a second time as hard as I could into the clearest patch of wood in my immediate vicinity. I received results quickly. The spear fell to the ground 30 meters away from me. It seems using it for this short period of time allowed me to move it farther that previously. I swept the spear in a circle around me and sat down, waiting for the spear to do my bidding. Sure enough within a couple seconds the bodies lay in front of me. I hold the spear in my left hand, surely looking like some tribal "spirit", wearing no cloths holding a long spear. I extended my right arm into a spear and punctured the first body, using [Nature Manipulation] I rooted all through his body, down every major limb, the sprouted smaller branches, using this made me feel slightly exhausted, surely due to the concentration it took to manipulate myself into such a detailed form. Then, as you know, I drank, ever drop of life from that poor animal. The blood flowed through the cells of my arm, thankfully bringing back the red hue, immediately all of my fatigue was gone, nada, as though it never existed, then the fluid made its way to my center, which happened to contain a crystal that is growing larger as I noticed. The blood flowed through the crystal, absorbed the mana, then shot back through my cells to the parts that lacked the lacquered red hue. I was glad to get back the color, it began to grow on me no pun intended. After this little experiment of mine I buried the body, then made my way back to the elf. Upon arrival she lightly bowed to me, then offered me the two bodies she has been safekeeping. I decided to tease the elf a little, I climbed the tree, they walked straight at her. She showed slight apprehension, but did not move from that spot. I admired her courage, I purposely walked "dignified" to tease her a bit. Then I bent down to her ear, and in my most gentle voice, as though speaking to a sleeping baby.... Brett: "What is your name elf" Elf: "Aella" She spoke just as softly as I did With this, I manipulated my spear down to me, and made a slice right behind her ear, she winced in pain, but it was something that had to be done. I had been thinking of this since I was born from the ground. I brought my head down to her head and licked behind her ear, not allowing a single drop of the elixir to fall to the ground. Then just as fast as I cut, I healed. She gasped, then exclaimed... If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it.Aella: My gods, what exquisite execution of nature magic, not even my elder could heal wounds that fast. I took it as a compliment and a bar that has been reached, it seemed my previous knowledge of biology has allowed me to progress faster than normal in this branch.....get it branch, of magic. While using this technique, it seemed part of my consciousness was inserted into what was being manipulated, as where after discussion with Aella, it seemed most paladins, priests, and elves healed using a technique that allowed the whole body to regenerate faster than normal, but was slower than mine on a certain point of the body. Another huge contribution to my skill in this magic was that I knew what the hell I was doing. Aella said that they simply force huge quantities of mana into the recipient and use the proper incantation, or magic circle, where as I need no such thing, and actually know how cells regenerate. Also, my research allowed me to manipulate myself easier, it was almost as though I could see the cell walls degrading, then multiplying, then a new cell wall being produced, with the main nourishment being mana and blood. I am such a cheat, these primitive people probably do not even know what half of the organs in their body do (sigh) I suppose I can share such information with trusted....colleges, servants, comrades, whoever treats me good, and is in my inner party. I can''t help but notice a slight blush on Aella''s face, perverted elf. She did not even hesitate to allow me to get close, she must have complete trust in me after I saved her life. I need to know if she is friend or foe in the long run, my main goal in this live is to protect the nature, I will not allow what happened in my old world to happen in this one. And for some reason, I get this feeling that humans will be the main factor in this, just a hunch. I then begin my....examination? Brett: "Why were you here in the first place, were you fighting for the territory?" Aella: (Gasp) "Please great spirit do not associate me with such things, every single elf adores nature and all it provides us. I was forced out of the woodlands near the human continent and pressured to fight for the land, or else they will destroy our forest, therefore our homes. Since we do not possess money or any monetary possessions aside from cloths that are always made from the forest, how are we........" Brett: I stop her short "Speak no more" She shuts her mouth immediately, I stroll lightly behind her and prop my back against hers. With the bodies of the humanoids laying next to us, and a firm floor below us I relax against her. Then speak. Brett: "I am going to halt the humans and beast men from destroying occupied forest...(I pause for effect) I will raise an army, and welcome anyone who wishes the same as I" Aella does not speak, instead she reaches with her right hand to touch her stomach, where the tattoo is, then gracefully slides her fingers into mine, which were resting on the floor, taking some of my weight of Aella. I hear a slight sob, and smile to myself. It seems the elves were oppressed and were under some heat from other races who wished to abuse the natural resources that the forest offered. I smiled in response to her silent affirmation of my declaration. Brett: "Will you follow me, as my first servant, protector, and comrade" She does not hesitate to spin my body around and pull me into an embrace. We stay like that for a while she certainly recounts some horrible memory she has had suppressed since the battle. While still being embraced I explain some plans I have for the future. Brett: "I want to defeated spirits on this unexplored land, become powerful. Powerful enough to make anything bow before me." I figured that now I am in a new world, I may as well treat it how I would in a game. "I need to find my brother, and I figured that since the elves are at a disadvantage geographically being next to forces oppressing them, we should bring them here. At the mention of this she noticeably stiffens. Aella: "You mean......like.....here.....to this unknown land. Brett: "Yup, we will have an advantageous position, and as I heard from you, they are force to give up their lands, and fight in their armies due to superior elvish archery and magic. She tightens her grip on my torso and squeals with delight. Aella: "That''s an amazing idea, let''s get them now!" Brett: (Chuckling) "Hold your horses" Aella: "I am not strong enough to hold horses master" Brett: (Sigh) "Just calm down, we need to train, how the hell are we going to pull every elf from the armies, and lands un noticed, we need to force them out, then protect as much of the forest left as we can, the border of your forest is only 80 to 100 miles away from the border you fought the battle at as explained by you earlier, that is still close enough to hold and consolidate as our land." Her eyes light up at the thought of potentially keeping her previous lands under our power. I laugh at her delight. Brett: "Well we better start sooner than later" Aella: Her cute demeanor suddenly vanished as she released me. A look of extreme determination floods her face. She has a slight smile at the thought of revenge on those who oppress the relative peaceful elves "Agreed". I have seen Aella fight, she is strong. I don''t know how I would stand against her in a fight, but since it is electricity she specializes in, I think I would. I could simply ground the energy if I fought a shock mage. We spoke at length about magic in this world. For the most part all the people know is that everyone has access to it, but some way more than others. I now know that everyone specializes in one or two certain branches of magic, and some more detailed than others. From what I picked up, some may study Healing magic, but in turn, only heal flesh wounds, that way they are faster, more effective, and do not spend as much mana on the battlefield, leaving deeper wounds to even more specialized mages. This method is used in combat magic as well. In fact the magic Aella claims to use is called "Negative Energy Combat Magic". This includes void magic, electricity, and a few others commonly known in RPG''s. Others use the classic "Positive Energy" that includes fire, water, earth and air, with many branches into each of these elements. We sat in that tree for three days speaking of the magic system and of the world in general. Just the classic kingdom versus savages of the forest etc. Nothing most games have gone into. I will need to learn the detailed geography in the future though, along with the names associated. During this time she ate meat from the beast men, she had no qualms of such actions, and I admired that greatly for some reason. At the end of the two days came the fun part. Training. We began training with spears, it seems she was extremely proficient with such a weapon, and almost cried....well did cry when I gave her my spear and of how I made it. She hugged me tightly and gave a little sob speaking of how much it meant to her, and admired the quality of the weapon. I had to rub my neck a little, I was embarrassed she spoke at such length of its beauty, damn girl you know that came from my body right. Well anyway, I made another spear, the same way as before, then absorbed more beast blood to return the extra power to my left side this time. She also began to teach me "Negative Energy Combat Magic", more specifically, electricity. I was....ecSTATIC...if you know what I mean. Anyway, it was very strange to use any magic aside from nature, when I told this to the elf she spoke as though it happened frequently. Aella: "Indeed, some magic''s, when used to a degree and mastered, such as you have with nature healing and manipulation, using other magic''s will feel strange, as though you are trying to ride two horses at the same time. This was a perfect analogy. Eventually I was able to initiate a response with the mana around me. Whereas my nature magic utilized mana inside of myself, excluding the spear, of which Aella was also intrigued with, electricity took a whole new outlook of use. My former education was not going to help me with this, and I had the luck of training with a master. Despite looks, which are extremely deceiving. Aella is approximately.....old, she made me promise not to tell anyone, let''s just say younger than 200, but looks younger than 23. She trained in her village, and when she graduated from the magic school there, she was "recruited" (cough) forced, to train with humans in combat magic, her affinity simply leaned toward electricity, and here were are today. I did ask her if she had a significant other, which she then proceeded to cough on her wolf meat and shout "of course not....silly". She was really cute and I laughed at her response, at which she pouted. Well its good she did not, I may gobble her up in the future myself. She roughly 5''8 female with brunette hair, I always did like that color, it is just as dark as my current skin. She was slim, but had a perfect bust. My kind of woman all in all. Aella: "EHEMMM, are you listening?" I come out of my reminiscence of the last few days, and reply with a nod of my head and recite the method to produce a reaction of electricity. It has been hard, really hard. Like listening to the audio book and reading another at the same time while concentrating on both. Brett: "I know you are able to shoot electricity though the air in a bolt, and a continuous stream, but it is not working for me. (Ha-ha, it is as though I am watching my female skyrim character using magic) Indeed that was just what she was doing, even her robes resembled my equipment. Aella: "If you cannot produce the friction in the air as I told you I suggest you find another incantation that works for you" She explained that using this type of projectile magic was difficult to use, and took many people many years in the academy to learn to use. I decided to use her explanation of mana ignition and expand on it. I decided to use skyrim animations to base my magic off of. She said you must visualize, and looking at hers simply was too abstract. I close my eyes...and ignite mana a few feet in front of me, imagining a railroad carrying my mana along, but also willing it to take the form of electricity. I hear a yelp, then a sound similar to artillery fire. I open my eyes and see my arms, with tendrils of energy jumping excitedly on them, sometimes leaping from arm to arm, then eventually all the energy enters my antlers. Aella claps loudly exclaiming how gifted I am. I give a light bow to her energetic response. Then look in front of me. I witness pure destruction. In a straight line, just like a railroad, so two lines parallel to each other, each rail roughly two feet wide devastate everything in their paths for 30 meters. It seems my bubble applies to all magic in terms of range. I also realize the magic still came from my body, even though I ignited it away from me. Aella said it was due to how amazing electricity and nature magic were affiliated with each other. I was ecstatic with the results. After a week of training almost nonstop we went back to the tree feasting on more prey on the way. While I trained she always brought me new bodies to feast on to gain strength back. While she slept I continued to train, now that I had a goal, it never left my mind. Late one night, while Aella and I were back to back, with her sleeping I thought to myself ''That damned tree, not letting me manipulate him, well anyway''. With a huge grin on my face I strengthened my resolve to use my newfound power to take over this forest and destroy other spirits in my way of conquest, I always dreamed of having some power, and by the way the tree spoke, it seemed like power could change frequently in this society. I also smiled at the plans I made to protect this worlds natural habitats, and I grinned a bloodthirsty smile at how in the immediate future I would feast on a rare delicacy, that damned lion variant.
