《The Cataclysm》 Chapter 0: World Building... of a sorts This is just a place to put down my thoughts of what I want to show up in my fiction so feel free to add thing that you wish to see in the story. I also took down the original chapter as it was a sort of place holder. If you read it congrats you know a little more about the rough lay out of the story then some others, if you didn''t that''s ok to as it should be more than shown in the next couple of chapters as I plan on making it more in-depth then I originally had it portrayed as. Also this will be updated regularly unless class and life begin to blend together again. New types of metal and what they came from as well as their look: ? Mithril => Very small amounts of steel that has underwent drastic mutations. High compatibility with magic. o Silver hue that can be dyed by a person¡¯s natural aura. Normal means of smithing does not work well with this metal. ? Blood Iron => Iron that is found within large battlefields and absorbed massive amounts of both human and non-human blood o A dark red piece of iron that never dulls so long as it gets a steady supply of blood. Must be forged in fire and quenched in blood or will snap as easily as a rotten piece of wood. ? Inanis ferro or Void Steel=> A new type of metal that is found to be an amazing nullifier to raw mana, not much is known on how it was formed. o A blackish-green metal that can be very malleable in its raw form and extremely dense in its worked form. Has very high durability. Oddly enough must be forged close to a mana well. The closer the better the final form. ? Can use any magic that is seen or used on him. If he uses a spell that he does not have enough mana for or can physically handle he could very well die. (more about the ups and downs of his ability will be added later, though every power will have various pros and cons to it. This also applies to other "heroes") 2.) Can evolve every 100 levels into a different being. Has unlimited potential but could very easily being fear and hatred upon him if found out about. Also can devolve him, but never enough that he would become just a stupid beast. 3.) Can absorb the strength and characteristics of things that he has killed with no outside interference. This is a rare occurrence. It can only be used on enemies he himself has killed. It can grant a portion of said enemy¡¯s strength such as speed, strength, mana, heath, etc. Will be lower than what the enemy had, example if the enemy had a speed rating of ten he could only use five. (Example if the enemy had a strength rating of twenty he could only use ten but killing more could let him use eleven to the full twenty if he kills enough.) Stacks on pervious kills of different type kills. Very minuscule mega rare chance to grant a special skill of the killed enemy, scales with kills. More kills more of a chance to get new skill. Warning might be a skill that can cause negative effects. Higher chance for one of a kind type creatures or people. (Think re: monster but with a high chance to fail.) New Tech: Lasers rifles, pistols, blades. Pulse cannons, grenades, mines. Plasma rifles, snipers rifles, grenades, mines, shields. Stealth tech (not sure where to go on this, there are too many possibilities) Personalized storage space (the legendary inventory)(More will be added to this later just know this is not a simple bag with a seemingly unlimited space inside.) Teleportation ports (not portals but ports as in no you cannot just teleport halfway around the world in one go you have to make multiple jumps) Ion reactors Plasma reactors Magical particle reactors (think of the regular particle reactor but with magic instead) Status tattoo (STATUS BOX HERE WE COME!!!) Deed system (takes the place of fame and infamy in case people wonder, must be willingly shown or in can¡¯t be viewed except by a machine the adventure guild corporation uses to rank would be meat bags¡­ I mean adventurers¡­) Genetic implants (super dangerous and can only be found in the black markets or in high risk, high reward government labs) Gene remapping (considered immoral and outlawed by almost every government and church sect. Rewrites your genes to create abominations that look human but are literally insentient creatures of rage and carnage. Able to use magic freely without chants or hand motions, though can¡¯t use weapons such as guns or high tech weapons. No successful gene remapping where patient comes out with a human mind and body with just abilities added.) Time dilatation chambers (only speeds up mind and reaction time, everything else is normal speed) Gravity pits (training grounds for troops to train in increased gravity, can be freely increased or decreased. Can cause gravity sickness.) Warp gates (relics from an advanced race that failed to cross over to this world/ dimension, used in space to reach other planets.) Cloning (Recent laws have considered this as a way to survive in new worlds, Clones will be maintained at each major cloning facility in which you will create a copy of your memories/ stats/ abilities/ etc. on file so that your new clone will have said information when you die. Upon death your status tattoo will send your consensus into the clone may take three to eight weeks to be ¡°reborn¡± depending on your clones power, race, abilities, political power, etc.) Automatic language translators (new races may take some time to understand, usually about a week or two if used daily.) Why? So that I might better screw with the MC without making too many inconsistences in the story. Plus it allows me to add stuff with the added trouble of making the MC go on a thirty chapter quest to find a frigging holy grail that has been lost to the ages and who just so happens to find it in a dungeon that has been search over hundreds of times by everyone and their mother. How it all started. My original name is long forgotten, but you can call me Vlad and yes it is like the vampire but no I am not one. They say that my story was the beginning of the era called the so called war of monsters, but I bet to differ. I say that my story is simply that: my story it wasn¡¯t sweet or anywhere nice but all the same it was fun. I was born in 2017 which is funny because I can remember most of my first life except for the most important part of who I am (?). My name. Something even the poorest man or woman alive takes for granted but to me it is but a summers dream. There but not there a remembrance to times too long gone, of a long forgotten legends birth¡­ and death but that¡¯s a story for another time. I remember doing things people only could dream of doing; getting teleported to another world which sucks by the way as you have no way to understand where you need to go unless you could read a map, and no there wasn¡¯t some magic to help you there you had to actually learn to read a map which is pretty hard. There was on the other hand better moments to the time in the other world: the magic that practically flooded the air, the different and awe inspiring views never to be seen on earth, sleeping with both the demon lord¡¯s daughter and one of the lesser human lord¡¯s daughter. Sounds great right? WRONG they stabbed me to death the next morning as a peace offering to the god that demanded the war to begin with. Unfortunately for them who had just after my seed to birth the next generations kings I had a little gift (?) spell that I had cast on me by a high litch who cursed me to only be able to die in the worst ways possible which apparently did not include two slightly bitchy women stabbing me to death! Who knew right? After my little rampage through both the demons and human kingdoms the very priests who said they had no way to send me back to my world suddenly found a way to. So being a regular guy I thought damn I never got a true harem as most of my companions had been men and the ones who weren¡¯t were very much in to woman only. *Sigh* This all happened in a simple seventeen years, from birth to losing my virginity to killing most of two opposing kingdoms population and finally getting forcefully teleported to earth (they really said reversed summoned but it felt the same so Meh). When I did get back it turns out the times between dimensions where different as I was thrown into a war torn third world country in the dregs of a fourth world war (really would have thought the world would learn as the third literally proved most of the end times of the bible right with fire raining down from the sky. For those wishing to know the fire rain is commonly called acid rain and yes it does burn.) The year at that time was 2453 which I learned from a soldier right before he tried to kill me, I say tried not because my awesome skills from the other world because those where apparently erased by the gods who governed this world with some stupid reason as it would upset the balance. I say it a stupid reason because the third world war had completely rewrote the map of the world and the fourth had started mutations which hadn¡¯t even began to show had many dangers it held. Or how many blessings. So where was I? Other world, check. Reverse summoning, check. Stupid gods, ah there we are! So after about fifteen minutes of lets shoot the stupid plebe, me and just about every soldier in a hundred miles got teleported to the main event. The grand home of the gods where the biggest event that history never got to witness (he had the flu at the time). Long story short is that the high gods in just about every religion and some that had no religion decided that it was time to take back this world from the christen god and his ilk. So they bound him and the angels, demons and devil all in this black hole which was formed when the primal source decided it was time to vomit the universe as we know it up. Might not seem that special but it apparently grew stronger every time you even thought about escape or tried to use your powers whether metaphysical, physical or just magical in nature. So turns out the gods decided that now that they¡¯ve taken the world back as their they wanted something to amuse them so combining their power which is mindboggling in its own way, they then did something which should have been impossible due to several laws of physics. They fucked this world up even farther by smashing together a new supercontinent which had more land mass than it should have had due to several sea and land gods raising the seabed in areas. Then they added magic to the mix which invited a whole shitload of other world¡¯s gods who thought it would be funny to transplant new races to the world along with magical creatures who should have never been thought off much less born.
