《Heroes of Jorg》 Chapter 0- Prologue HEY Y''ALL, This is my second time writing something on this site but last time, i kinda did it willy nilly. This time i have thought it over and made a story i am quite proud of. Hope you guys like it. I have written 7 chapters so far and depending on the reception i will try my best to improve. ................................................................................................................................................... 26- August-1914 Here in Spain, no one could imagine this beautiful vista invaded with guns, tanks and such fierce personalities. It has been exactly three months since the fighting began in the neighbouring countries. In the beginning, there wasn¡¯t much conflict between Austria and Serbia however, this calm did not last long as political tensions escalated like no one had predicted. On the 26th of last month, this plague of death introduced itself to the entire world. They were calling it ¡®the war to end all wars¡¯, but nobody believed that then. Now, everyone wants to fight, and make their parents proud and stand out in a crowd. Over here, in Manzanares, we don¡¯t hear much of the news but what we do hear, makes people cry. Over the past few weeks, more parents have been mourning rather than celebrating their son¡¯s decisions. Sixteen of my friends made their decision to go and fight in this war. It was only in the maiden night of last week that I saw the coffins arrive on their front porches, sadly all sixteen of them. 10-September-1914 That was about two weeks ago. If you ask me, everything was much better then. I used to think everything involving physical violence was bad. It was simply the way I was brought up. Now I know from experience that all of that was a lie. There are other ways to hurt people, all much worse than just straightforward pain. It wasn¡¯t blood and guts that changed my mind; rather, it was my father¡¯s actions. He had spent his whole life supporting others in their hard times and seemed content too, but when it got to making money, he gave up his dream of a disease free world for a high paying military job that almost made him kill us, kill his own family. After that incident, he was always rude in the house, made mother cry all the time and hell, he even kicked us out onto the streets for another woman. I hated him ever since that day, the day when he came home drunk with a rifle in his hands. I wanted to rip him apart limb-by-limb. I vowed that day never to become like him, a disloyal son of a bitch¡ 12-November-1914 I lie here motionless in thoughts as the evening sun slowly slides to the edge of the horizon. The leaves dance in the semi twilight and the graceful breeze, shaded by the ever-so-thin canopy of the Spanish moss. Following countless dips and mounds, this forest valley seems to continue until eternity. The view is so picturesque that it almost seems unreal. Sitting on one of these mounds, overlooking the enemy infested rift right in front of me makes me regret every second of joining this blasted profession, seeing my friends, my best of friends get massacred in front of me made me despise this world. I could not save anyone. Wounded and alone, I lie helpless on this damp moss against a rotting tree trunk. The grim reality is now clear to me. The German infantry are now setting camp here for the night. There seems to be too many to keep count. Mingling amongst themselves, they look like little bees in a nest, quick with their actions and organised in their task. I, on the other hand, lie against this tree with a gunshot in my leg, without any provisions or ammunition. I am absolutely certain that I will not survive my maiden night. They are bound to find me on one of their patrols. And when that happens, without any way of resistance, I will either have to turn sides or die with pride. Ha!!! What pride? I joined up for this expecting a share in the payroll. Hell, I didn¡¯t even know what I would be doing. It sounded like an easy task from what the advertiser told me, but as a wise man had once said on the battlefield, ¡°All war is deception.¡± Now, I truly regret my enlisting for the military. It is due to this that I have seen things, things that are not normal occurrences for an 18 year old. And now, it is hard to think that this lush, green foliage may be my last to see. 18-September-1914 This was the hardest week of my life¡so far. On Monday, when father kicked us out of the house, mother, sister and I took refuge in the outskirts of this town. One of the farmers there was kind enough to lend us a bed for the night. Packed with only 6 hours, that was the longest night for all three of us. There was a poetic and gentle breeze, yet all we could share amongst ourselves was what little confidence we had left. This experience was new we were all very uncomfortable with. It took me a while to realize that I could not just walk back home the next day and resume my normal lifestyle. 31 October 1914 Finally, after weeks of working relentlessly in multiple jobs, I have found the one profession that will surely finance everything. There is one drawback however; this war that everyone has been going to, I will have to enlist in it as well. This morning, I was approached by an advertiser on the street who told me that the Western Powers or simply put, countries on the western side of the world, were in desperate need of new recruits and the payroll they offered in return was great. In fact, it was more rewarding than all the jobs I had done so far, combined. This is not going to be easy though. Mother has forbidden me to do ¡°anything irrational regardless the pay¡±. I will just have to lie to her, as this much money does not come by everyday and I am sure that it will go a long way to put a permanent roof over our heads. I shall go the recruiting tent first thing tomorrow morning. 1 November 1914 They told me that I have only eleven more days before I have to leave, leave mother and from what they told me, leave this world behind. In their briefing, the officials told us new recruits exactly what was happening out there in the battlefields. I have to say it was surprising and unexpected. However, due to logical reasons, I will not inscribe what I learnt, as if this diary was discovered, it would start a town wide panic, ruining the government¡¯s reputation. After the briefing, everyone got assigned their respective missions, some in units of three and some on their own. I was one of those ¡®on their own¡¯. My mission is to scout the last outpost on the east and survey the enemy advancements. This seems near impossible as I am going to hold a rifle for the first time in my life and they want me to travel past possible enemy fortifications to the last outpost, which is probably already overrun by the Nazis. If you come across this story on Amazon, it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. The person who personally assigned me this task was Rolon. He is the same person that offered the high-paying job to my father. The same father who nearly took his family¡¯s lives. The same darn person who abused his new income to go in scandalous affairs and then finally, marry someone else after kicking out his own family in his drunken state of mind. I hate that man and father the same. Yet in this position, I am forced to stand ground as if I back out of the recruitment now, the others would suspect me for a spy and definitely kill me for treason. I finally realize their scheme now. Our own government is luring in vulnerable men and then sending them to missions which are ¡®too suicidal¡¯ in nature for their trained soldiers. They are using us as a ¡®plaything¡¯. And now I doubt that the payroll they promised is even real because it¡¯s not like they are expecting us to return from our assigned missions. 12 November 1914 As I watched the morning sunrise beyond the skyline of this town, it occurred to me that this might be my last one. After that ponderous moment, everything else was routine. I groomed myself and left mother with a confident goodbye. Even though she looked confused, I felt a lot better leaving her with a comforting memory. We gathered there in the front compound surrounded by light rifles and a few barrels of gunpowder. We were instructed to pick what we liked but it made no difference, as all the guns looked the same. At the final hour, we were given a map respectful to our different missions. At 4 o¡¯clock in the morning, we marched out in the barren streets. When we all separated on our different paths, I headed towards the Far East side of the town and tried my best to encompass the new feeling of danger. As I walked the lush and unbeaten paths of the forest floor, I couldn¡¯t help but think what would happen to mother and sister if I died here today. It was too grim a feeling that I diverted my attention to the green all around me now. There were trees as high as the sky and through the holes in their canopies, light fell in trickles to the forest floor. The birds seemed to deliver their morning songs from beyond. That fresh morning scent hung solidly in the humid air. As I tracked the forest, following my map, I noticed that these surroundings had seen better days. There were abandoned camps scattered every two to three kilometers. The surfaces of tree trunks bore holes and bullet tracks. It seemed like the allied infantry units were settled in. And I only say this because of the gruesome number of corpses I saw afterwards. They were mangled and drenched with running blood. Just imagine the number of parents and siblings who would not hear from these men ever again. Imagine the sorrow of these parents who would not know what happened or be able to bury their son or give him his final rights. It looked like someone had dragged the dead bodies and made a collective mound out of any visitor¡¯s sight. It should have looked like a trap but my untrained reasoning did not even see the blood smears contrasting on the green floor. Suddenly the facade looked dangerous and unforgiving. I could scream but no one would hear me¡ except the Germans. And that is exactly what I shouldn¡¯t have done as the second I pumped air into my lungs, I saw flashes of light all throughout the low-lying shrubs on this moss-covered floor. They say your whole life flashes before your eyes when you are about to die¡ But that was just a theory as this height advantage averted most of the incoming assault. I wish I could say the same for my leg. As soon as that projectile hit, nails of pain shot through my entire leg and I dropped almost instantaneously. I knew that I could not just stay here, out in the open. So to prevent the Germans from advancing, I tried my best at cover fire. I was taught the concept in that briefing but this was my first time applying it. I think I shot three people but I felt more sorrow every time one of them fell to the floor. Then, all the noise spontaneously dispersed and I could hear the birds chirping again. I thought they must have retreated to cover. That is exactly what I shouldn¡¯t have thought as from my blind cover fire; I had managed to kill all three of the Germans. This, I discovered too late as I was partially blinded by the pain in my lower thigh. I had never felt such agony before. I tried my best after that to keep moving and finally, take cover. 13 November 1914 As the last streaks of light were fading away last night, a whole unit of German infantry set up camp in the same rift from where I was previously attacked. They lit their gas lanterns and added contrast to the stark black. In the night-time, I slowly edged away from the lights. I could not remember the way back and could not see the map due to the lack of light. I don¡¯t remember where exactly I went, but what I do remember is that I went to sleep and then today, I used the map to go back to Manzanares. It seems like everyone had already known of the incoming attack, and left. I tried to go home but then I remembered again what had happened. Then, as I approached the gates, I crossed a pontoon bridge and on the other side, I saw an old man, nestled in the danger that was about to march out from the forest, this old man made me realize the true reason I had joined this blasted profession, I have to fight for my country, my family and my friends. If an old man, by the looks of it a general, could march out into this battlefield, I could, I could change the tide of this war, I could become something of a savior, and I could make a difference. 15 November 1914 I lie here motionless blood, flowing out of my stomach wound, thick, abstract strokes of it, oozing onto the thick foliage of grass underneath me, it is quite alluring actually; I thought to myself about the past 6 hours, the general and I had managed to sneak into the enemy¡¯s camp. The Germans didn''t know what hit them; we had armed all of their mines and placed them in their own camp, but unfortunately got massacred by a few before we could get away¡. I regret nothing though¡. That''s a lie, I regret not being able to make my mother smile ever since that son of a bitch kicked us out, I regret never having a wife to look after and love. I slowly close my eyes but before I could feel lady death take my, soul away I saw it, a bright light, a light that was extremely resplendent but failed to hurt my eyes in the least. It was gentle and calming, the likes of which one would experience when seeing the face of a loved one, and then I saw her, the face of the most beautiful woman I had ever seen¡ Chapter 0.5- Origins Hey guys This is the second chapter Origins hope you enjoy it .................................................................................... .......................................... .......................................... At the beginning there was only mana, and extremely large amounts of it; it condensed so tightly that it caused the surface itself to get deformed and destroyed. It had encompassed the planetary body Jorg. Mana was pure power, it was the embodiment of the excess energy that had existed during the birth of the planet. The planet was covered in crackling lava, which had been preventing the birth of any and all life forms, from this crackling lava and an entity the first primordial being in the birth of this particular cosmos; from the swirling mass of chaos and mana the primordial being was born. It was called the Serpent of Origin, The Primevil Jormungandr. The serpent called Jormungandr was the father of all the planes in the birth of the new era of this planet, due to the serpent taking in almost half of the condensed mana it was unable to maintain a stable body for very long, and to maintain this body, the serpent to get rid of the power, using the power of mana created 3 different realms to traverse in; he created the Asgard, a realm for beings such as itself; Jorg, a realm for the Beasts and Humanoids; Niflheim, a realm for the dead the departed and the soul-less. Jormungandr during this time had not noticed that to balance the imbalance created by the massive amount of power held by itself, fate had created another being, The Primordial Phoenix, the phoenix was the polar opposite of Jormungandr and was given birth from the energy of Order while Jormungandr was created from Chaos. The Phoenix decided to start a new era of life on the planet Jorg, and created the first 7 Humanoids. (the phoenix looks like this : http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130126172323/onepiece/images/d/d2/Marco''s_Phoenix_Form.png) The 7 beings each decided to create a race so that they could start life on this planet, Cain the oldest one was a cunning, and somewhat malicious being, he created the demon race, a humanoid race but with high affinity with mana. He wanted his race to be rulers the powerful ones in the new era, but to his dismay, with high magical affinity of his race led to weak bodies and a low chance of creating a progeny. They occupied the northern part of Jorg, and named their country Versailles. Baldr the second of the siblings wanted to create a race that would be able to exploit Cain¡¯s races¡¯ weakness so he gave them power of the beasts, and extremely strong durable bodies, Baldr was very proud of his creation and had neglected the fact that due to the high strength of the bodies they did not have the necessary sensitivity to be able to detect mana, resulting in a magically inept race. This race had occupied the eastern country of Shioon. Ymir the third and the eldest female sibling wanted to create a race that had the potential to surpass its limits, an inquisitive race. She created the first of the humans¡¯ race and gave them a mediocre power of both mana and physical strength. She was very surprised to find that the humans in a very short time had breeded continuously and had amassed the largest population among the three races. The humans occupied the southern most country called Orlanth. The Beast race and the Demon race had started an all scale war due to the animosity between Baldr and Cain, this caused the death of countless beasts and demons, and during this time when both the races were at their lowest; the Human race took it as an opportunity to start enslaving the beast race and the demon race, and thus started slavery. Baldr and Cain extremely angry at the actions of the humans threatened Ymir saying they would destroy all of the humans if they do not stop this slavery. Freya seeing that her siblings were continuously fighting decided to create a race to govern the lands. She created the first Elves, the elves had a long life span and high magical affinity but they were extremely infertile and could only produce 10 new elves every year. The elves convened a meeting with the highest powers of each of the races and signed a treaty to not cause on all scale war and to try to intermingle and live peacefully. All the races reluctantly agreed to the concept and soon there was peace. The elves resided in The massive forest of Renar, as they had high affinity with nature. The peace lasted for eons and there was no war in Jorg. After eons of peace a calamity occurred, Jormungandr who was in deep sleep after creating Niflheim woke up to realize Jorg was populated by insignificant creatures everywhere. Enraged with a swipe of his tail he destroyed more than half of Jorgs residents. The seven gods were stunned, as they had not expected the serpent to wake up. They quickly awoke the Phoenix; the polar opposite of Jormungandr and together went to destroy the serpent. Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on the original website. The battle of the gods and phoenix, versus Jormungandr lasted for a millenia and Niflheim the location of the battle had turned into a desolate sea of fire. Phoenix used last of his flames to destroy the being but before he could the seven gods suddenly turned on the phoenix and killed him when he was at his weakest. Phoenix stunned at the events had no idea as to what happened but he vowed to the gods with his dying breath that he would return and take vengeance upon them. The gods were afraid of the power of the two Ancients, Phoenix and Jormungandr had, they had planned to kill both of them and bury their souls in the depths of Niflheim, the Tartarus, prior to the battle so that they could be the sole rulers of the 3 realms. While Jormungandr was breathing his dying breath, the god each divided his body into pieces and consumed it, this gave the gods each a fraction of the unfathomable power Jormungandr had, and gave them the power to ascend to Asgard. Fenrir the youngest of the siblings decided to create 5 elite beings to act as the hand of the gods and the perpetrators of their will, they were called the Angels. Angels had immense power and high intelligence but were bound to the will of the gods and had no freedom. Most of the time they acted as the guards for the gods. They reside in Asgard, now dubbed the holy city of gods. Stupur was the most ugliest of the gods and had always been ridiculed by them, so he decided to descend from Asgard onto Jorg and he unequivocally, made a decision to go deep into the seas and built himself an empire underneath the waters, his race were called the Dwarves and the Merman. The dwarves were created so that Stupur could engage in sexual activity with similar looking beings, and the merman were created as the guardians of the underwater kingdom; Atlantis. Dwarves had high intelligence and craftsmanship skills and had built a kingdom more magnificent than any on Jorg. Vritra who had immense love for their father Phoenix had felt that what they had done to their father was extremely evil and vile, saddened he had killed himself from his guilt. From his ashes rose 3 dragons which had immense power as they were created from the death of a god the three dragons had more power than the angels but had decided to isolate themselves in deep mountains, as they were created from their masters immense sadness from the death of their father. They secluded themselves awaiting the return of the Phoenix. ¡¡¡¡¡ Eons had passed since the death of Jormungandr and there were numerous and various wars that had been raged in that time, after the becoming the most powerful entities the remaining 5 gods had ascended to Asgard and had decreed to not involve themselves in the matters of Jorg. Fenrir the youngest and the most powerful, became the ruler of the gods and took his sister Freya as wife, and gave birth to two godlings, Ares and Arius, who with their birth became the kings of Niflheim and were the two gods of death, they also acted as guards to Tartarus. The other gods also intermarried, to produce a large number of godlings, who resided in Asgard. Each of the god decided to bless someone from their respective race. The blessed one would be born with immense power and each of the champions rose to become the kings and queens of their respective race. Their descendants also had the blessing pass onto them, and with that a unshakable line of kings and queens were born, and with that a monarchical society was found. Many individuals emulating some of the fighting techniques used by the blessed ones also decided to train, and become strong. This gave birth to a new age in Jorg, an age of peace and tranquility, but also an age of adventure and passion. Many individuals seeking power trained immensely and then travelled across Jorg; they were called the adventurers. Becoming an adventurer was extremely dangerous as the immense unexplored region such as the Forest of Darkness in the west of the Jorg which was the largest area of the whole continent and the most unexplored of it as well; it was home to ferocious beasts that were extremely powerful. Becoming an adventurer was a norm in Jorg; an abundant group of young children were always budding to go on an adventure, seeking fame and glory that is associated with becoming a powerful individual. ¡¡¡¡¡ After almost a Millenia the inhabitants of Jorg had slowly become oblivious to the various powers in this world and were living in peace¡ or so they thought. Chapter 1- Primordial Phoenix The entirety of the setting around me suddenly disappeared and in a matter of seconds I was rocketed away from the battleground, away from this god-forsaken country and to my surprise away from continent and the planet itself. I was floating in space surrounded by a plethora of stars. I was still looking at the beauty during as all of this. I laid there mesmerized by her beauty, she radiated a gentle, calming resplendent light, looking at her made me feel at ease, my pain from the thick lead bullets lodged through various holes in my body had disappeared, there was no wound to be seen anywhere; with my wounds though my clothes had disappeared. I quickly covered my goods to my dismay and was blushing beet red. ???: What are you doing I am not affected by your genitals Francis, I only took this humanoid appearance to converse with you, and to ensure you keep your sanity, just in the mere presence of my true form will break that feeble mind of yours My face became a deeper shade of red, almost crimson. However alluring she was I was quite embarrassed at her candidness. Francis: I am sorry, but I have no idea of the situation I am in; I am sure I had died because of the onslaught by the German infantry, so would you care to elaborate on why I am here stark naked¡¡ The beautiful woman came down from floating in mid air, to my level ???: I am known as god the first being, the omnipresent, the omniscient, the all knowing, and the all powerful entity. I am everywhere and anywhere, and I have been watching you, Francis. I was stunned by her sudden maniacal proclamation. God? I am not a vigorously religious person, I was quite indifferent on matters of faith and religion, I could not think of any act I could have done which would have warranted the attention of such a being. I could not think of any words to reply to her. ???: I am not the god you are thinking of; Francis. I am not an entity that can be envisioned by such a primitive race such as yours. I do not exist in your visible spectrum of understanding, I am being that was born from the residue, the catalyst of the ¡° Big Bang¡± as your race call it. I was there at the birth of your universe, I am being of pure power, I can merely with a thought destroy that feeble galaxy you call the ¡°milky way¡±. I can traverse on more than 5 dimensions; I am singularity. Need I say more, Francis¡ I understood that this is a being of insurmountable knowledge, a being that I cannot even perceive fully, this further enhanced my confusion, I could not think of anything I had done to mandate her¡ wait ¡°its¡± attention. GOD: I agree, Francis. I never took notice of your feeble races¡¯ matters but the actions of you and that old man have garnered my attention. Your actions had a drastic change on the flow of your world, your actions had caused, more than 8 billion of your planets population to survive, I had not expected such valour from the likes of your race, In my infinite light years of existence I have only seen a few acts of bravery that have actually made a distinguishable change in the flow of time. I had not expected that the acts of the old man and mine made such a big difference in the world. I was truly proud of myself, I was extremely happy to have protected so many people. GOD: You may not have known this but Kaiser Wilhellm II, the instigator of your petty war had stumbled upon something he should not have and had been experimenting with it. He was in that particular campsite you destroyed and had taken his last breath the day after you died. He was tempering with a rift in the space-time that had existed since the dawn of your planet and further experimentation would have caused an inward implosion and sucked your solar system of its existence. This startled me; I had not known that the sadistic German King had been there that night. I was further pleased with myself. It gave me a fulfilling feeling in the depths of my heart to be able to save so many people¡ GOD: I had not seen such remarkable men in a long time¡ You two are true souls, souls that will not yield or be deterred in a moment of crisis. Your feelings to protect your family, and your friends are truly genuine. Not one in the whole of both the armies had such conviction, some may have tried to seem like a genuinely patriotic and caring person but most of them, deep in their heart were there for superficial success. Fame, glory, and recognition were on their mind ceaselessly. So I was pleasantly surprised to see a soul such as yours. I was not expecting a compliment from a being like her (it) but nonetheless it made me exultant. I didn''t expect that I was the only patriotic and caring person there; as farfetched as it sounded to me, I was not nearly confident enough to question her. Francis: It still doesn''t answer my question, GOD. Why am I here am I not meant to pass and be dead. I still don''t understand the reason for my audience with you. GOD: Even after hearing about me, you do not quiver in fear or try to be blatantly charming to win my affection; I am starting to like you more, Francis. I have called your soul here to try something, an experiment of sorts, from now I am going send you and your friend, the old man, to a different dimension, to be reborn and start anew. Francis: Wha¡ really I get another chance????? GOD: Yes, I think your accomplishment is deserving of such a reward. The dimension I am sending you to has multiple planets, but I have decided to send you to a relatively new planet. This particular planet is quite similar to your own except it has magical capabilities. I was quite shocked at that, I had read stories as a boy about the adventures with dragons and dungeons, and had always had a love for such stories, and to be able to be born in a planet with such capabilities made me ecstatic. GOD: This planet is called Jorg. It is a planet filled with all the mythological and powerful beings your planets inhabitants had dreamed about. It is a planet I believe that needs individual such yourself and the old man. It needs a ruler, a being that is there to uphold justice. This planet has a cornucopia of races unlike earth and is 3 times the size of the earth, where the strong live and the weak die. Now choose a race you would like to born in to. Support the author by searching for the original publication of this novel. Suddenly there was display in front of me showing me various different beasts species as well as the humanoid races. I looked through each of the race closely and each time a screen would pop up showing me the beast or the humanoids¡¯ skills and other racial traits a particular species has. I noticed that the humanoid races did not have much difference in strength and other aspects such as racial traits, except that the demon race had a high affinity with magic but had low strength, and the beast race had high vitality and strength but had low magic affinity, the human race had a balanced power. But compared to the actual beasts such as the beowulf¡¯s, dragons and hydra¡¯s and other such creatures they were quite weak. Pitifully weak Francis: Why is there such a difference in power between humanoids and beasts. GOD: Every life in this planet has the potential to grow, and become more and more powerful, to a certain extent Francis. But the beasts and animals are given a head start as they are continuously hunted by the humanoids; the humanoids also have an extremely large population compared to that of the beasts. I looked through the list continuously for what seemed like hours but could not find a race I was comfortable with, I wanted to do good in this new life and wanted to be born with power to protect the ones I love, but I also wanted to keep my human body so to make it easier to adjust to my new life. As I thought of this I noticed that this list was organized in a chronological manner and as I went further in, the more ancient and powerful the species become, I went to almost the end of the list when I noticed an ancient beast that interested me quite a bit, it was second last from the list: Species: Ancient Type: Primordial Phoenix (The first Phoenix) Racial Traits: ? Immortal flames: Able to live eternally, and can recover from any injury, and can be reborn on the chance that it is killed. ? Flames of the lawful good (Flames of Caelium) (flames made of the mix of both Light and Fire magic) : Able to devour and burn anything the ancient wishes to erase out of existence, can even devour other ancients if the phoenix deems them evil. ? Body made of Caelium flames ? Highly intelligent ? Can produce flames of Caelium without significant use of mana as it a racial trait Magic Affinity: Fire: 100% Water: 0% Earth: 10% Wind: 60% Light: 100% Darkness:0% I looked at the magnificent creature before me; this creature was a representation of the power I needed, to do good in my life. Francis: GOD I know this may be too much but I would like to ask you for a favor regarding my new life. God who had an inquisitive look as she stared at me and was thoroughly startled. She looked at me, her eyes narrowed as to see if I am actually there to make demands of her. GOD: I had not expected this Francis, I am genuinely surprised you had the courage to make demands of me; ok I am willing to grant you this wish as long as they are not too farfetched. I looked at her with relief, for a second there I thought I had overstepped and pushed my luck too much but she seemed to find my character rather amusing. Francis: I would like to have the racial traits and the power that this beast the Primordial Phoenix has but would like to retain a human body if possible. GOD: That is impossible Francis, I cannot even fathom the possibility of giving so much power to an individual. Francis: GOD, I lived an unfulfilling and mundane life, on Earth, I do not want to live the same way on this planet. I want to have the power to rise above, protect the weak and pass judgment on the evil. GOD: Hmmmm¡ Alright Francis, I have decided I like your resolve and I find you quite interesting. Most want power to rule over the weak and enforce their values on others. You seem to have an infinite amount of resolve to do good, whole-heartedly. I will merge a human soul with that of the phoenix, this will give the potential to become one of the most powerful beings, on this planet; but remember it does not mean you will have infinite power, you will be exactly the same as all the other humans, but you will have the prospect of becoming a powerful individual. By giving you such a gift, I believe fate will be cruel to you and take something away, are you prepared to face such a consequence? I pondered on the possibility of what ¡°fate¡± could take away from me. But the opportunity of doing good for the world overruled all my ambivalence. I said yes and she smiled, I think she finds amusement through my personality. GOD put out her hand out and a ball of flames appeared the flames were exactly the same as that of the phoenix, and she then proceeded to merge that flame with a pale white ball of light. I had come to the conclusion that she was merging my soul with that of the phoenixes. GOD: Interestingly your friend the Old man insists to be reborn as just mundane human and he asserted on it, he seems a lot less altruistic and driven than you. Francis: We don''t know much about each other I only met him the night before and we executed the plan together, he wasn''t very talkative¡ GOD: Good luck in the new world Francis, I will be watching over you. The space around me distorted again and I felt myself being whisked away, to a new life¡ ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ GOD: He believes he can amass such stupendous power with out losing something significant. Francis you fool, you will soon find out how cruel fate truly can be. God reflected on the earlier exchange and then just like nothing had ever occurred her physical form disappeared leaving nothing but the vast and daunting nebulae. ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ I woke up in a dark void, surrounded by thick liquid. The liquid was comforting and eerily felt like the safest place on the planet. I wanted to live in a stable home, living a stable, and peaceful life. The god refused to let me be born as human as she had plans for me to become somewhat of leader as there is apparently going to be a great calamity in the future in the planet of Jorg and I apparently have been chosen as the ruler and the leader to tackle this catastrophe. Old man: I will not become a savior I have lived a hard life till now and just want to be reborn as a normal human¡ If you do not grant me this I refuse to be part of your new world. GOD: Old man you talk as if you have a choice, I have taken enough liberties as it is in re incarnating you and Francis. I will choose your race so be prepared Old man. Hahahaha I was speechless. This beautiful, and extremely striking lady was just doing everything on her whim, before I knew it with a flick of her hand she sent me spiraling into my new life. Old man: NOOOOOO ¡¡¡¡ God thought about her choice for the Old man, she did not want him to kill himself due to his un-human appearance so she decided to invent her own race, something that would make him think I reincarnated him into a human¡. I was pulled out of my mothers womb and could no longer felt the comfort, but instead felt searing pain in the region where woman who looked to have abnormally long ears, and a gorgeous face was holding me up by my legs. I inadvertently started crying and tears rolled down my face, and I had started to smell the placentae, which had a thick nauseous smell, this further caused a gag reflex in me and I started coughing.. ¡°He is beautiful Elaine, it''s a baby boy look at him¡¡± a lady with a extremely long ears said to her in a hushed tone. The lady then proceeded to give me to another woman whom I am assuming to be my mother who was lying with her legs spread eagle sweat pouring down her beautiful face, and I saw it a genuine smile; a smile so resplendent that it put GOD¡¯s beauty to shame, She had brown luscious hair cascading down, and had a face that would best be described as the perfect combination of cute and drop dead gorgeous. I looked at her for what seemed like an eternity, and decided then and there that I would protect this woman with all my heart¡ I was then nestled into her arms and covered in a thick blanket, she then looked at me, I felt her sweat and tears on my face before due to my weak body sleep slowly took me ¡ ¡°what are you going to call him, Elaine¡¡± ¡°His name is Galahad, Galahad Veilantif¡± the woman said¡ ¡¡¡¡ Galahad¡¯s POV: It has been 1 month since my birth and from the information I have gleaned I can tell that my mother is a commoner who is right at the bottom of the lower echelons of society, we live in the slum area near the center of the human kingdom. From what I could see the slum area is completely cut off from the central of the human capital, by a gigantic wall named Hadrians Wall, this wall cut us off from the rest of the capital, where the rich and the magically gifted live¡ I had somehow had the knowledge to understand all forms of language in this world without prior learning, and was inborn with the knowledge on how to circulate mana in my body. I think GOD might have had something to do with that, I think she really wants me to grow powerful quickly. My mother was a laundry woman for a noble on the other side of the wall, and was in charge of washing a enormous number of clothes everyday, she would come home everyday and her hands were cracked and black from her work, a blackness that penetrated her skin so deeply that no amount of grainy industrial soap could remove it: the black seeped into the cracks of her calluses and the grooves of her fingers and stayed there. If she stopped working for a few weeks, her hands might become clean again, but she never stopped working long enough for that to happen. I had an elder sister, her name was Thea, she was a gentle kind and caring girl, who looked almost exactly like my mother; she had brown luscious hair, and big green eyes she seemed to be around 9 years old, and was attending a school funded by the city¡¯d head priest, Speaker Tristan, he would teach young children basic arithmetic, reading and writing; which was usually only available for the upper echelons of society. My mother would often speak of him fondly saying that if it weren¡¯t for him we would be out on the streets right now. ¡° Mama.. Mama can I hold him..¡± Thea said excitedly she would always get excited when she gets home from school. ¡°Yes you can dear but be gentle he is extremely fragile¡± mother said with her tender voice. ¡° Look at him mama he is soo cute I could just stay at home and look after him all day, Mama can I stop going to the Speaker Tristan¡¯s school,¡± Thea said with a cheeky look on her face. This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. ¡°Thea, You know I wont let you do that and besides , I don''t think you will be much of a help Galahad is very good boy he does not ever cry, unless he is hungry and is always quietly observing everything around him, he is an angel.¡± Mother was beaming with pride as she said this she must be quite proud of me I thought ¡° Ok Mama¡¡± Thea said with a dejected look on her face. ¡° Mama I am wondering why Galahad has golden hair, when you and I both have brown hair, and his eyes are almost silver mama¡± she said inquisitively. ¡° I don''t know Thea, there has never been anyone in the Veilantif, family to ever have such features, even his father didn''t have such features,¡± Mother said with a disheartened look on her face, She would always make that face when talking about my father. From what I can tell bandits killed him when he was on his way back from the borders, where he worked as the guard. What the Elaine did not know was that her son had the soul of the Ancient Primordial Phoenix inside of him, this entity had caused the boy to be born with unique features. Every night before going to sleep I would try to purify my mana in my body to better understand my new found powers, as said in the knowledge GOD had bestowed me, every time I would do this I was able to see the mana of all the people in my vicinity, the mana was situated right where their heart is and there was barely any noticeable mana in any of the people I knew, but I could feel that I had an enormous amount of mana and by refining it I could see that his fragile body was becoming more and more stronger and getting accustomed to the new power. I could only maintain this state for a mere 20 mins before I had to sleep from exhaustion. I continued these days living with my mother, my doting sister, and was thoroughly content and happy, I would always work on my mana circulation every night and I lived a stable and happy life¡ ¡¡¡¡ Old mans POV (1045 AW) (Lightmonth 14th Day) ¡°congratulations sire, your highness the queen Lorelai has given birth to a male heir,¡± a man said while holding a small baby who was screaming at the top of its lungs just after its birth. This baby was none other than the old man. What did that bitch turn me into, I really hope I am not one of those demons, I can¡¯t stomach their look, and the horns, it truly reminds me of il Diavlo. I was thinking continuously when I saw a gentle look of a big and robust man who was holding me; he was a towering mass of muscle who seemed to be aroung 7 feet tall, at least he seemed to be human so I breathed a sigh a relief. ¡°My son,¡± he said in a whispered tone while looking at me with eyes full of expectation. ¡°Uther quickly hand him over, I need to see him,¡± said a woman on a big lavish bed. I was then passed on to the bosom of a beautiful, extremely striking woman. She was the most gorgeous woman I had ever seen, she looked at me, and I looked at her. She had silver hair and bright blue eyes, a trait that was quite unique to me, this made her seem more exotic. I wanted to make her smile so I gave her a beaming smile and muttered something in a babyish tongue. ¡°goo goo ahhhhh¡¡± ¡°My son he is so energetic, Uther what are we going to name him ?¡± she said with a bright smile plastered on her face ¡°His name is Arthur, Arthur Pendragon¡± he said. ¡¡¡¡ Arthur¡¯s POV: So it turns out I am the son of the king of the human empire, I was thankful when I realized I wasn''t born as something other than human. Being the son of the king I had many benefits. I have a surplus of sexy maids working for me, they continuously come to my room to play with me and I would ¡°accidentally¡± grab the maids breasts, hehehehe¡ These maids incidentally didn''t seem to notice that I was a complete pervert so, they would continue to visit me at every opportunity calling me the cutest most handsome baby in all of the human kingdom. I was curious about their claims so the next time I was alone in my baby crib, which incidentally was in my parents¡¯ room, I went to the mirror at the corner of this giant room, to see my reflection. Although being only 1-month-old baby, I was quite plump and full of life. I noticed that I had many features similar to my mother; I had inherited her beautiful silver hair, as well as her bright blue eyes. I grinned knowing that my time in the palace with the court ladies was going to be a fun one¡ I was surprised also to learn that I could understand every language and speak every language, I deduced that to be one of god¡¯s gifts and was quite delighted until I found out that she had implanted the knowledge of magic into me, I didn''t want to practice magic at all. I just wanted a normal confortable life. Every night before going to sleep my mother would nestle me into her arms sat me on her lap, and proceeded to read to me some of the epics of various heroes throughout the land. I never thought that I would be interested in such nonsense but, the way my mother¡¯s gentle voice whispered to my ears from the back, I couldn''t help but be mesmerized by the story. The tale of heroes such as Sandar of the east, who slayed the horrifying Poison-Eye Hydra, The hero of the north, Helbram who saved the northern demon territory from an army of beasts from the Forest of Darkness by himself, and tales of his grandfather Luther who hails as the greatest hero of the continent who defeated every king of every race in a duel. ¡°Son you have the blood of your Grand Father Luther Pendragon, you are destined for great things¡¡± my mother whispered¡ I knew deep in my heart that I could not go against the will of GOD, but I wanted to live a quiet life. My life was amazing since then, I lived with the best parents, who loved and doted me, and had everything I need in a click of my hands. I hadnt realised that i didnt change the wording yet so now i have done it. Should be MOre Original now, that to GodSpeedKabuto for reminding me of my mistake. And also thank to Jennifer A. Nielsen for the roast scene thankyou. Enjoy the story guys: ........................................................................................................................................................ Galahad POV: I was already 6 months old, and had gained numerous information about this continent; it seems that we are at the heart of the human kingdom, under the rule of a gentle and kind king Uther Pendragon. There are in total 4 kingdoms in this world for each of the races, but most of the land is unexplored due to the danger of the beasts of the forest, but the safe part in itself, by Galahads estimate is at least 5 times the size of all the land masses on earth combined. He sighed when thinking about the enormity of this world. He was even more excited to get strong quick so he can explore the world and become a protector of the weak. I have highly ambitious hopes for myself; I also discovered a lot of information of the world by the talk of the worker at my mothers washing station, as they called it. It was dingy, disgusting and most of all had a high number people, who all day would scrub and clean clothes of the nobles in the city on the other side of the wall. Although it was not a terribly great place, I found it to be the place where information gathered the most. The servants were extremely talkative discussing the matters about the newest powerful adventurer to simple benign palace gossip. ¡°Did you hear, about the adventurer, Clifford Lionsmane, he managed to became a B level Adventurer, isn¡¯t that amazing!!¡± a woman cried ¡°Oh a boy from our slums reaching B rank, what a commendable lad,¡± another said I also learned that in this world there are paths a person can take in terms of building strength, the path of Magic, which was only limited to people who had a high capacity of mana, but others could train in the path of the warrior which, was what most would choose as most were not able to reach the level of mana required to train the path of the mage. The path of the warrior is said to be extremely tough as it requires relentless effort, therefore not many are able even reach the capabilities of a C level adventurer. The ranks are rated from F through to A where upon they change to S, SS and SSS. There has only been one man who had ever reached the rank X which is greater than SSS, and that was the greatest warrior and mage of all time, the one who is the protector of the beast country, and has apparently lived for 5000 years after gaining power, he was called the Wolf War God. His awesome power had caused the beast race to prosper, and flourish and under the protection of the war god became the strongest military power in the entire continent. (kinda inspired by CD lol) When talking about Clifford the lady was talking about a B ranked adventurer; and achieving that is definitely commendable, in a single race there are no more than 20 or so B ranked adventurers, which shows the difficulty in achieving such a power level. The A to SSS ranked warriors could be counted on one hand. In the country of Orlanth the strongest fighter was named Luthor Pendragon, he had bested all the other kings of every country in a duel, using his famous Spear God technique. I have started purifying my magic constantly since I have nothing to do except sleeping and eating. While my mother is working I would refine my magic uninterruptedly until I had to sleep because of the exhaustion. While refining the magic I noticed that the ambient mana around me would enter my mana core, and then get refined and the impurities would protrude out words escaping from my body back into the atmosphere. This technique according to the knowledge GOD had imbued in me is the strongest meditative technique that not only refines like common techniques but also strengthens ones body, it was called the World Pulse meditation. Most commoners were not given the knowledge to refine their mana, and the people from the slums were not even given a chance to train, as they had to ceaselessly work to pay for a daily portion of food. I decided to rectify that when I grew to power. I wanted to create a wonderful environment for my mother. I loved her a lot. She would always look after me, and try to act the role of the male of the house to make sure I grow without the longing for a father. She would read to me, and even play with me after her tiring day at work. Thea was also wonderful, although at just the tender age of 9; she had an immense sense of responsibility, and would always look after me. She also had a dream of becoming an adventurer, being born in the slums, she already had no chance of becoming one as most cannot afford to overwork themselves and die from exhaustion and lack of food, but I would see her often sneaking out of the hut with a bow and arrow. I had also become more adept at World Pulse meditation; I am now able to hold it for almost 2 hours without needing to stop from exhaustion. The curious thing I noticed about my meditation was that after needing to sleep from exhaustion I would wake up to find myself extremely energized and ready to start purifying again. I wouldn''t need to eat to fill up my energy either. It seemed that as I get more adept at World Pulse meditation more benefits I would reap. I would of course need to still eat but I could live with just the bare minimum of food intake. I had started reading some of the books that Thea read for school, to further increase my knowledge. I was reading everything she brought home. I think my mother and Thea thought I was just looking at words out of amusement, but they never questioned me until today. ¡°Mama, I think Galahad really understands, what he is reading, I know he is only 9 but¡¡¡± Thea said ¡°Thea don''t be stupid he is only 6 months old. He is just curious, aren¡¯t you my little boy she said looking at me¡¡¡± Inadvertently I nodded. Mother was immensely surprised at me. She looked at me for a good few minutes before saying anything. ¡°What!!!!! Gala you can understand me?¡± I nodded again but this time with a little bit more vigor and with a calm cute little voice I said ¡° I understand you mother¡¡± There was pause after that, my sister and mother stared at me like I was some sort of a alien being. I was beginning to regret my decision of speaking out until. ¡°My son is a GENIUS!!¡± my mother cried ¡°Gala, you can understand me¡ how can you¡¡± Thea said with a confused look on her face. ¡°Thea he is a genius, a prodigy, he will make a great scholar in the future. His voice is soo cute. I love you my little Gala.¡± My mother grinned. ¡°I am so happy I can finally talk to him¡ Mama, I love him soo much. I can now take him out and show him around right??¡± Thea pleaded ¡°NO he is still a baby Thea let him grow up¡¡± I couldn''t help feel loved. These two people truly loved me with all their heart. I never felt so secure and safe. I wanted to cherish these people for the rest of my life. I vowed to never let anything hurt them and decided to train harder than ever before. Having fought in a war, even if it was a short period of time, I had started to be withdrawn and not made any friend scared that I might lose them the next day. My life of isolation, in the war had caused me to be introverted, but my new family, even if we were dirt poor loved me and cherished me. I am truly happy to be born in this world. I quietly said thank you to GOD and slept on the floor of our little hut nestled in between my mother and my sister. 10 years later: (Firemonth 5th day) I was running jumping from roof to roof, trying to escape while dodging a cleaver being thrown at me. I had flowing dirty golden hair coming down to just below my waist, tied up in a long braid; I had a small but sturdy body, which showed early signs of small amounts of muscle. I was jumping across in the middle of the night, escaping. As I raced away from the market, with a stolen roast tucked under my arm. I should have never done thievery before it doesnt seem to be something i am actually good at. I dodged the blade he had thrown at me, trying my best not to lost the slippery roast, that didnt seem to wanna stay tucked under my arm. He was only a few paces behind now, chasing me at a better speed than I¡¯d have expected for a man of his girth. He cursed very loudly, calling me a dirty street thief. He was catching up to me now almost gaining on me. I quicly made a sharp turn and the cleaver whizzed past me. I was only few cm from having my life literally cut short. I ran faster he gave me quite the motivation to. And I might have made it, if not for the bald man sitting outside the church of Ymir, who stretched out his foot in time to trip me. Luckily, I managed to keep hold of the roast, although it did no favors to my right shoulder as I fell onto the hard dirt road. The butcher leaned over me and laughed. ¡°¡¯Bout time you get what¡¯s comin¡¯ to you, filthy beggar.¡± As a point of fact, I hadn¡¯t begged for anything. It was beneath me. His laughter was quickly followed up with a kick to my back that chased my breath away. I curled into a ball, prepared for a beating I wasn¡¯t sure I¡¯d live to regret. The butcher landed a second kick and had reared back for a third, when another man shouted, ¡°Stop!¡± The butcher turned. ¡°You stay out of this. He stole a roast.¡± ¡°An entire roast? Really? And what is the cost?¡± ¡°Thirty Coppers.¡± The author''s tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. ¡°I¡¯ll pay you fifty coppers if you turn that boy over to me now.¡± ¡°Fifty? One moment.¡± The butcher gave me a final kick in the side, then leaned low toward me. ¡°If you ever come into my shop again, I¡¯ll cut you up and sell you as meat at the market. Got it?¡± I nodded. The man paid the butcher, who stomped away. I wanted to look up at whoever had saved me further beating, but I was hunched in the only position that didn¡¯t send me gasping in pain, and I was in no hurry to change that. I quickly got myself up, slowly turning as to not hurt my shoulder, the man was still above me i could see. I turned to see his face when i noticed. ¡°speaker Tristan¡± I gasped I felt sorry for myself landing in such a bad situation, getting saved by the one wealthy man my mother knew. If he were to tell her, she would surely, be disappointed. ¡°Galahad, what are you doing son?¡± he questioned. I sighed. ¡°Its mothers birthday¡± I said in a small voice. It truly was my mother¡¯s birthday today. We haven¡¯t eaten meat in a year and I really wanted to celebrate her birthday. She had been fired from her work at the washing station, for apparently ruining one the princesses, dresses. I was there when it happened and had known for a fact that the dress was tattered even before arriving at the station. It had been a month since then and, now my mother does odd job here and there to pay for our daily food. We were in a truly saddening situation. My body injuries quickly healed themselves; even the broken shoulder had no longer left nothing but a dull ache. I am always amazed at my astoundingly fast regenerative capabilities; it is possibly from the Phoenix soul that is merged in me, or because of the strengthening aspects of the World Pulse meditation; which now I am able to maintain for at least 6 hours. ¡°common son lets go to your mother, I need to have a chat with her¡¡± the speaker said. I bemoaned my actions more and more¡ Arthur¡¯s POV My life was what you would call perfect it has been 2 years since my birth, and I have been living a sort of lavish lifestyle I had not even dreamed about in my previous life. I would wake up whenever I want and always have a meal that is fed to me by a plethora of maids everyday. I had loving mother who would loved me more than life itself, and a father who would shower me with gifts in compensation of his unavailability in my life; not that his absence bothered me in the least, and mother would always speak of him so I did not feel detached to him at all. I spoke my first words saying ¡° I love you Mama¡± which sent my mother in to a shocked state as she had never heard of anyone speaking when they were only 8 months old. She was so happy, she was in tears. I was since called the genius Prince of Orlanth. I loved being in the spotlight, I cherished it, I relished in it. This finally gave me reason to practice magic. I wanted to be more of a prodigy; I wanted to be called as the greatest prince of all time. An unparalleled genius. I started practicing magic according to the knowledge embedded in me by GOD, according to her, I had to get into a meditative state, and focus all my energy into the region where my heart is located. I then sensed a swirling mass of mana crashing against my heart. I refined it trying to bring it to a gentle mass of pure energy without all the impurities. I soon came to know that I had a huge amount of mana in my mana pool, and refining it requires me to meditate for a long time. I could only maintain the meditative state for 10 mins before I had to stop, due to exhaustion, but I continued and refined before going to sleep. I had also started training the way of the sword. My mother begged me to wait until I was older but I would not stop. I wanted to become matchless, a supreme. Sir Reilly, an A ranked swordsman was hired by my dad to teach me swordsmanship. My father was delighted to have such a driven son, as he should be. I was amazing. I had started to build up my stamina, everyday by hitting a wooden dummy in a sword vertical sword strike 100 times a day; this was more than enough to tire me out, I was only 2 years old. I forgot to mention it but my mother is pregnant again. I was ecstatic at the prospect of having a sibling. I had one, as in my previous life, a baby brother, who I had failed to protect in the war. He died gruesomely not of some battle wound but due to whooping cough he developed due to the disgusting, and sickening aspect of the trench warfare. 8 years later(Earthmonth 9th day) Today was the day I was going to meet my fianc¨¦ apparently all royalty had to have a predetermined marriage partner. I was not thrilled to say the least about the idea of my life being dictated by someone else, but at the behest of my mother I gave in and decided to meet the girl. I wasn''t the only one who was unhappy about meeting a future marriage prospect. Lily, my baby sister was in tears saying that an evil girl was taking me away. ¡°Arthwur don''t leabe me,¡± she muffled tears streaking down her long black hair. She had inherited my fathers black hair but had inherited my mothers bright blue eyes. She was so adorable; I had grown quite attached to her, I had always been there for her, my parents were quite afraid that I would be withdrawn with the newfound attention on Lily but seeing me taking care of her continuously all their worries were for naught. I arrived at the entrance of our castle with my mother and father on either side of me. There they were 2 stone lion sculptures, guarding the gate, our house sigil also was that of a silver lion, and as the gate lowered I saw a young dashing noble, accompanied by a brown haired beauty, with beautiful red eyes. They woman was dressed in a tightfitting red dress, adorned with pictures of small hawks, while the man was wearing a nobleman¡¯s cloak with the same red hawks. I deduced that my fianc¨¦ was the daughter of the house of Vadergrath whose sigil was the red Hawk, a high noble house who provided the kingdom with the army and the military support. I then saw a small girl no taller than me, standing right in front of the two with her back straight, legs spread wearing a small red dress, and her arms crossed, looking at me, with her head tilted up, and her gaze running down her nose. She looked to be sizing me up. I then turned to my mother, who gave me nod urging me to go greet the young lady. I complied and walked up to her. Giving my cutest smile and bowed. ¡°Hello lady Reina, I am Arthur Pendragon, the heir to the Throne of Orlanth and your fianc¨¦¡± ¡°I have not approved of you¡± she said. Her voice trying to sound authoritative but her cute voice seemed to make it sound almost playful. I chuckled. I liked her. She was tight willed, and strong, and if her mother is any indication she would grow up to become stunningly elegant woman. After the small exchange the Valdegrath¡¯s came in and we started exchanging pleasantries. My father was extremely excited to see our two houses are joining; he seemed to be sworn brothers with Lord Valdergrath who attended the Prestigious ` ¡°Boy, this is my eldest daughter, I cherish her more than life itself, can you give her the happiness she deserves,¡± he inquired releasing a small amount of killing intent on me. ¡°Honey he is just a boy, how could he understand such words.¡± Lady Valdergrath said taking sip from her tea. ¡° If I grow to love her lord, I will keep her in my heart and protect her from any and all dangers.¡± I proclaimed. The room was stunned; I gave a small bow to Lord Valdergrath before slowly creeping away and stood behind my mother. Lord Valdergrath burst in to a loud laughter, he bellowed at my father. ¡°Uther you have raised a nice son there, I was hesitant to give my baby away but, now if he wins her heart I am ready to hand her over. Hahahaah¡¡± he continued laughing overjoyed. Reina then blushed beet red. Looking at me, I gave her another cute confidant smile. She slowly shuffled behind her mother losing all the imposing confidence she exhibited before. The Valdergraths soon left and the castle returned to its usual rhythm. In the next second a huge horn was blown once, this usually signifies an attack, the horn was blown again, vibrating the whole of the inner capitals atmosphere, two consecutive horns usually indicated a return of a noble of the house of Pendragon or a return of a family member, the horn then blew again and the whole of the castle then suddenly went into a fit, they were re-arranging furniture, my fathers expression suddenly went deathly pale, my mother was pacing up and down right behind the door, her expression also deathly pale. I was quite surprised, I had known what the third horn signified, and it signified the return of my grandfather the most powerful man in the entire continent of Orlanth, Luthor Pendragon. I had not yet seen him, not even once. The whole family and all the maids and servants then exited the castle and waited in front of the castle¡¯s massive door I was standing behind my father with mother and Lily, and then I saw a silhouette of a man running at a alarming fast speed from the far horizon, taking long strides and almost gliding towards the castle, I then noticed that this man was carrying a small boy in his arms, ¡®princess style¡¯, the boy¡¯s head had dropped backwards and looked lifeless. I remember this day not for meeting my fianc¨¦ for the first time, not even for meeting one of the most powerful beings in the continent for the first time, my grandfather Luthor; no I remember this day as the day I had met my sworn brother, my greatest friend, my most powerful ally, and I had not known then but my most powerful enemy¡ Galahad Veilantif. Chapter 4- The Prelude to Journey Do you like the story so far. I am sorry if it is not up to standards. English is my second language. I have used a scene from the ''Demon King" by Cinda Williams Chima but tried to make it as original as possible, it is a major scene and is quite a catalyst for future events. Please tell me if you think my story is inadequate for this site, as i will take it down and improve my writing before posting again. Thankyou for reading my story. .................................................................................................. Galahad POV( Firemonth 9th day) Speaker Tristan, was walking me home, I had my head lowered with a dejected look on my face. I had truly screwed up this time. I really shouldn''t have tried to steal something. We slowly turned the corner to the slums, and a familiar wave of a nauseous and disgusting smell hit my face. We walked in through the narrow streets, taking frequent turns. I turned a corner and finally arrived at a small hut nestled in between another two huts. I opened the makeshift curtain made of cloth and walked in. I found mother sleeping and my sister, preparing her birthday meal. ¡°Gala, there you are where did you go? you said you would be right back¡± my sister said. ¡°Ahh speaker Tristan what brings you here has my brother done something wrong.¡± ¡°I saw him trying to steal, a full roast from a butcher, I thought he was a common thief so I helped catch him only to realize he is my most talented student.¡± He gave a me a look of disappointment, it shattered me. ¡°I am sorry speaker, I just wanted my mother to be happy.¡± I cried, I didn''t think about anything else except making my mother happy. I saw that my sister was also extremely disappointed in me. ¡°Its okay son, Ymir has been cruel on your family, but I think god has a plan for you, a greater plan.¡± I actually wanted to speak to you about something important. My mother woke up form all the commotion, her face was still beautiful to this day, even after all that she had faced her face never cease to show me her brilliant smile. I truly admired her, I loved her, and I didn''t want her to live like this anymore. The speaker went on telling her about what happened. She immediately came over to me, hugged me and said ¡°you must have been so scared. Its okay Gala, I am really happy, just being able to see your face is more than enough happiness for my life, you and your sister are what makes my life happy.¡± I started to tear up. I didn''t want her to live like this anymore. ¡°I think I may have a good plan for your family Eliana, There is a travelling church group that is in dire need of helpers, and I can get you a job in their church group as a worker. Don''t worry all you have to do is cook and sometimes wash their clothes. You will be travelling all around the human continent. How does that sound ?¡± the speaker said Mother looked at us, I nodded indicating that I was ready to go anywhere with her, and my sister was even more excited as she could finally have the adventure she wished for. An opportunity like this would never come to a family such as ours. Mostly commoners were hired to be workers, but slum people were never given such a chance. My mother knew about these travelers. They were dressed in white robes and went around the continent speaking the word of their god Ymir. They believed in peace and harmony so there was no danger to us whatsoever. ¡°yes, speaker we will go, I think my family needs a new start.¡± Elaine said. ¡°Good Elaine, tell me if you need anything, the caravan leaves in a month or so please be prepared by then.¡± I clenched my fists; I was finally going to leave this place. 1 week before departure (Galemonth Last day) My sister brought water from the a Spring and sloshed it over my slimed boot. ¡°Why is it that only nasty plants growing in nasty places are valuable?¡± she said. ¡°If they¡¯d grow in a garden, who¡¯d pay good money for them?¡± I growled, wiping my hands on my leggings It was a fitting end to a frustrating day. I¡¯d been out since dawn, and all I had to show for it were three sulfur lilies, a large bag of cinnamon bark, some deathleaves, and a handful of common bushwort that I could pass off as Virgingrass (I am calling ladies contraception Virgingrass) At the commoners Market. my mother¡¯s empty purse had sent me foraging in the mountains too early in the season. ¡°This is a waste of time,¡± I said ¡°Let¡¯s go hunting,¡± I said, touching the bow slung across my back. I was 10 years old now, so my sister had started teaching me the way of the bow She frowned, thinking. ¡°We could try Redcliffs Tree Meadow. The fellsdeer are moving up from the forest that''s what speaker Tristan said.¡± ¡°Let¡¯s go, then.¡± I didn¡¯t have to think long about it. It was the hunger moon. The crocks of beans and cabbage and dried fish his mother had laid up for the long winter had evaporated. Even if I¡¯d fancied sitting down to another meal of beans and cabbage, lately there¡¯d been nothing but porridge and more porridge, with the odd bit of salt meat for flavor. Meat for the table would more than make up for today¡¯s meager gleanings, I thought to myself. We set off east, leaving the smoking springs behind. My bad mood began to wear away with the friction of physical exertion. I was only ten years old but was easily able to keep up with her. A dozen fellsdeer stood, heads down, grazing on the tender spring grasses. Their large ears flicked away insects, and their red hides shone like spots of paint against the browns and greens of the meadow. My pulse accelerated. My sister was the better archer, more patient in choosing her shots, but I saw no reason why they shouldn¡¯t each take a deer. My always-empty stomach growled at the thought of fresh meat. Sis and I circled the meadow to the downwind side, downslope from the herd. Crouching behind a large rock, I slid my bow free and tightened the slack bowstring, trying it with my callused thumb. I eased to my feet and drew the bowstring back to my ear. Then I paused, sniffing the air. The breeze carried the distinct scent of wood smoke. My gaze traveled up the mountain and found a thin line of smoke cutting across the slope. I looked at sis and raised my eyebrows in inquiry. Sis shrugged. The ground was soaked and the spring foliage green and lush. Nothing should burn in this season. The deer in the meadow caught the scent too. They raised their heads, snorting and stamping their feet nervously, the whites showing in their liquid brown eyes. I looked up the mountain again. Now I could see orange, purple, and green flames at the base of the fire line, and the wind blowing downslope grew hot and thick with smoke. Purple and green? I thought. Were there plants that burned with colors like those? The herd milled anxiously for a moment, as if not sure which way to go, then turned as one and charged straight toward them. I hastily raised his bow and managed to get off a shot as the deer bounded past. I missed completely. Sis¡¯s luck was no better. ¡°What is going on?¡± My sister shook her head. ¡°There¡¯s no fires this time of year.¡± As they watched, the fire gathered momentum, leaping small ravines. Glittering embers landed on all sides, driven by the downslope wind. The heat seared the skin on my exposed face and hands. I shook ash from my hair and slapped sparks off my coat, beginning to realize their danger. ¡°Come on. We¡¯d better get out of the way!¡±They ran across the ridge, slipping and sliding on the shale and wet leaves, knowing a fall could mean disaster. They took refuge behind a rocky prominence that pierced the thin vegetative skin of the mountain. Rabbits, foxes, and other small animals galloped past, just ahead of the flames. The fire line swept by, hissing and snapping, greedily consuming everything in its path. And after came three riders, like shepherds driving the flames before them.I stared, mesmerized. They were boys no older than me, but they wore fine cloaks of silk and summer wool that grazed their stirrups, and long stoles glittering with exotic emblems. The horses they rode were not compact, shaggy mountain ponies, but flatlander horses, with long delicate legs and proudly arched necks, their saddles and bridles embellished with silver fittings. Han knew horseflesh, and these horses would cost a year¡¯s pay for a common person. A lifetime¡¯s earnings for my family. The boys rode with a loose and easy arrogance, as if oblivious to the breathtaking landscape around them. Sis went still, her beautiful face hardening and her green eyes going flat and opaque. ¡°Magi,¡± he breathed. ¡°I should have known.¡± Magus¡¯, I thought, fear and excitement thrilling through me. I¡¯d never seen one up close. Wizards did not consort with people like us. The most powerful among them in the human country was named the High Wizard of the Court, adviser and magical enforcer of Orlanth. ¡°Stay away from Magus;,¡± Mama always said. ¡°You don¡¯t want to be noticed by such as them. Get too close, and you might get burnt alive or turned into something foul and unholy. Common folk are like dirt under their feet.¡± Like anything forbidden, Magus¡¯ fascinated me. Magus¡¯ weren¡¯t allowed in the Spirit Mountains, since ancient times. Nor would they venture into Slums, the gritty Lionsden neighborhood I called home. If they needed something from the markets, they sent servants to purchase it. As the riders drew closer to their hiding place, I studied them avidly. The magi in the lead had straight black hair that swept back and hung to his shoulders. He wore multiple rings on his long fingers, and an intricately carved pendant hung from a heavy chain around his neck. No doubt it was some kind of powerful artifact. His stoles were emblazoned with silver falcons, claws extended in attack. Silver falcons, I thought. That must be the emblem of his house. The other two were ginger-haired, with identical broad flat noses and snarling behind him. I assume they were brothers or cousins. They rode a little behind the black-haired wizard, and seemed to defer to him. They wore no amulets that I could see. They were wearing expensive clothing but were only 10 years old, this surprised me the most. I would have been content to remain hidden and watch them ride by, but Sis had other ideas. She erupted from the shadow of the rocks, practically under the hooves of the horses, spooking them so the three riders had to fight to keep their seats. I didn¡¯t like that the wizards were using magic on their hunting ground either, but I was savvy enough not to go up against magic. I knew method to refine my mana pool but GOD never gave me knowledge to actually use spells. The black-haired boy glared down at my sister, then flinched, his black eyes widening in surprise before he resumed his cool disdainful expression. I no doubt he was amazed at my sisters beauty, she was by far the most beautiful, woman in the slums and at the age 19 she had many men in the slum and many commoners trying to win her attention. My sister didn''t find the little wizard least bit threatening; even if they were 10 they were still dangerous by all standards. She gestured toward the retreating flames. ¡°That looks like magus flame to me.¡± The author''s content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. The boy with the falcon signet glanced at the others, as if debating whether to respond. Getting no help from his friends, he turned back to Her. ¡°I¡¯m Leonel Aerie, of Aerie House,¡± he said, as if his very name would put them on their knees. ¡°We¡¯re here on the queen¡¯s orders. Queen Lorelai and the Princess Lily are hunting in the Valley below. We¡¯re driving the deer down to meet them.¡± ¡°The queen ordered you to set fire to the mountain so she could have a good day¡¯s hunting?¡± my sister shook her head in disbelief. ¡°I said so, didn¡¯t I?¡± Something in the wizard¡¯s expression told me he wasn¡¯t being exactly truthful. ¡°The deer don¡¯t belong to the queen,¡± I said. ¡°We¡¯ve as much right to hunt them as she does.¡± ¡°Anyway, you¡¯re underage,¡± sis said. ¡°You¡¯re not allowed to use magic. Nor carry an amulet.¡± She said pointed to the jewel at Aerie¡¯s neck. ¡°You are not allowed to use magical artifacts for such a reason¡± my sister continued She must¡¯ve struck a nerve, because Leonel glared at her. ¡°That¡¯s magus business,¡± the magus said. ¡°And no concern of yours.¡± Well, Leonel,¡± she said, , ¡°if Queen Lorelai wants to hunt deer in summer, she can come up into the high country after them. As she always should.¡± ¡°how dare you order the queen, you filthy slum bitch¡± the magus snapped I was ready to snap him in half after that comment. Suddenly Sis¡¯s knife was in her hand. ¡°Repeat that, Magus?¡± she said, her voice cold and emotionless. My heart accelerating, I stepped up beside sister and put my hand on the hilt of my own knife, careful not to get in the way of sister¡¯s throwing arm. She was quick on her feet and good with a blade. But a blade against magic? Even two blades? ¡°Sister,¡± I said, but she dismissed my warning with a shake of her head.I sized up the three wizards as I would my opponents in any fight. All three carried heavy elaborate swords that hadn¡¯t seen much use. Get them down off their horses, there¡¯s the thing, I thought. A quick slash to the ankle strap would do the trick. Get in close where their swords wouldn¡¯t do much good. Take out Aerie, and the others will cut and run. One of the ginger-haired wizards cleared his throat nervously, as if uncomfortable with the direction of the conversation. He was the elder of the two, and stocky, with plump, pale, freckled hands that gripped his reins tightly. ¡°Leonel,¡± he said in the Refined Leo dialect, nodding toward the valley below. ¡°Come on. Let¡¯s go. We¡¯ll miss the hunt.¡± ¡°Hold on, Michael.¡± , ¡°I want to teach these Low-born¡¯s something about respect,¡± he started channeling magic in to the amulet Sis arm flashed up, but I just managed to slam it aside as the knife left her hand, and it ended, quivering, in the trunk of a tree. Come on, sis, I thought, hunching my shoulders against my sister¡¯s furious glare. Killing a wizard friend of the queen would buy them a world of trouble. The Magus Leonel sat frozen a moment, as if he couldn¡¯t believe what had just happened. Then his face went white with anger. He extended one imperious hand toward my sister, took hold of his amulet with the other, and began heavily supplying mana to the artifact. I deduced that this articfact would convernt mana into flames artificially. ¡°Leonel,¡± the more slender wizard said, nudging his horse up close. ¡°No. It¡¯s not worth it. The fire was one thing. If they find out we¡ª¡± ¡°Shut up, Alexius,¡± Leonel replied. ¡°I¡¯m going to teach this base-born humility.¡± I unslung my bow and nocked an arrow, aiming at Leonle¡¯s chest. ¡°Hey, Leonel,¡± I said. ¡°How about this? Stop it or I shoot.¡± Leonel squinted at me, as if once again surprised to see me. Perhaps realizing he would, indeed, be dead before he could finish the channeling, the wizard released his grip on the amulet and raised his hands. At the sight of my bow, Michael and Alexius pawed at the hilts of their swords. But sis nocked her own arrow, and the boys let go and raised their hands as well. ¡°You tried to murder me,¡± Leonel said to Sis, as if amazed that such a thing could happen. ¡°Do you realize who I am? My father is High Magus, counselor to the kingdom. When he finds out what you did...¡± ¡°Why don¡¯t you run back to Lionsden and tell him all about it?¡± Sis said, jerking her head toward the downslope trail. ¡°Go on. You don¡¯t belong here. Get off the mountain. Now.¡± Leonel didn¡¯t want to back off with his two friends as witnesses. ¡°Just remember,¡± he said softly, fingering his amulet, ¡°it¡¯s a long way down the mountain. Anything can happen along the way.¡± Fuck, I thought. I¡¯d been ambushed too many times in the streets and alleyways of the slums from bullies. I knew enough about bullies to recognize the trait in Leonel. This boy would hurt them if he could, and he wouldn¡¯t play fair doing it. Keeping my bowstring tight, I pointed my chin at the wizard. ¡°You. Take off your artifact,¡± I ordered. ¡°Throw it down on the ground.¡± ¡°This?¡± Leonle touched the evil-looking jewel that hung around his neck. When I nodded, the boy shook his head. ¡°You can¡¯t be serious,¡± he snarled, closing his fist around it. ¡°Do you know what this is?¡± ¡°I have an idea,¡± I said. I gestured with the bow. ¡°Take it off and throw it down.¡± Leonel sat frozen, his face going pale. ¡°You can¡¯t use this, you know,¡± he said, looking from Sis to me. ¡°If you even touch it, you¡¯ll be incinerated.¡± ¡°We¡¯ll take our chances,¡± Sis said, glancing over at me. The Magus¡¯s eyes narrowed. ¡°You¡¯re nothing more than thieves, then,¡± he sneered. ¡°I should have known.¡± ¡°Use your head,¡± I said. ¡°What would I do with something like that? I just don¡¯t want to have to be looking over my shoulder all the way home.¡± Alexius leaned in toward Leonel and muttered in Leospeech, ¡°Better give it to him. You know what they say about the slumdogs. They¡¯ll cut your throat and drink your blood and feed on you to quell their hunger.¡± ¡°I can¡¯t give it to them, you idiot,¡± Leonel hissed. ¡°You know why. If my father finds out I took it, we¡¯ll all be punished.¡± ¡°You know I wouldn¡¯t have taken it if we were allowed to have our own,¡± Leonel said. ¡°It was the only one I...What are you looking at?¡± he demanded, noticing Sis and I¡¯s interest in the conversation. ¡°I¡¯m looking at someone who¡¯s already in trouble and getting in deeper,¡± I said. ¡°Now, drop the amulet.¡± ¡°Who are you?¡± ¡°They call me Pug,¡± I said, fishing a name out of memory. ¡°Boy of slums.¡± ¡°Pug, you say.¡± The wizard tried to stare me down, but I gaze kept sliding away. ¡°It¡¯s strange. There¡¯s something...You seem...¡± His voice trailed off as if he¡¯d lost track of the thought. He must have sensed the surging of my mana pool. I have substantial amount of mana compared any being on the planet so even a amateur mage of his age will be able to sense me. I sighted down the shaft of my arrow, feeling sweat trickling down between my shoulder blades. If Leonel wouldn¡¯t give, I¡¯d have to figure out what to do next. Just then, I had no clue. ¡°I¡¯ll count to five,¡± I said, hanging on to my will. ¡°Then I put an arrow through your neck. One.¡± With a quick, vicious movement, Leonel yanked the chain over his head and tossed the amulet onto the ground. It clanked softly as it landed. ¡°Just try to pick it up,¡± the magus¡¯s said, leaning forward in his saddle. ¡°I dare you.¡± I looked from Leonle to the artifact, unsure whether to believe him or not. ¡°Go on! Get out of here!¡± Sis said. ¡°I reckon you¡¯d better think about how you¡¯re going to put that fire out. If you don¡¯t, I guarantee the queen won¡¯t be happy, whether she asked you to start it or not.¡± Leonel stared at sis for a moment, lips twitching with unspoken words. Then he wrenched his mount¡¯s head around and drove his heels into the horse¡¯s sides. Horse and rider charged downslope as if they were, in fact, trying to catch the fire. Alexius stared after him, then turned to Sis, shaking his head. ¡°You fools! How is he supposed to put it out without the amulet?¡± He wheeled his horse, and the two wizards followed Leonel at a slightly less reckless pace. ¡°I hope he breaks his neck,¡± sis muttered, staring after the three magus¡¯. ¡°That magus¡¯ didn¡¯t want to give this thing up,¡± Han mused. ¡°Must be valuable.¡± I knew traders of magical pieces in slums. A taking like this could pay for some good food for our trip. High Magus¡¯ POV (Galemonth Last Day)(Inside Haidens Wall/ Home of the Aerie House) My stupid son has yet again failed me. But this time crossed the line. If the other noble houses come to know, that my own son had stolen an artifact from his father¡¯s room and set fire to the forest, our Aerie House would be the laughing stock of the noble houses. The corner of the high wizards eye twitched as he thought about the ridicule he might have to face. In the human continent, I was planning on having him betrothed to the princess, but that upstart Uther said my son has to win her affection on his own accord. That asshole. There was knock on the door. ¡°Lord, a man by the name of Bevin I here to see you,¡± the attendant called. ¡°Send him in.¡± A skinny man, with a crooked, sly face walked in, his arms crossed. He had scars all over his face, which were more unsightly with a smile plastered over his face. ¡°you called for me lord.¡± ¡°I want you to kill, a boy, and a girl from the slums, make sure they cant trace it to me. I want you to kill them and retrieve the artifact. The boy called himself Shiv a streetlord. But that is an obvious alias. But my son said the girl was extremely beautiful, even by noble standards. They should not be hard to find. Kill them and bring artifact back. Take your bandits and kill some of the other base-borns too make sure it doesn''t seem targeted.¡± ¡°Yes lord. Consider it done.¡± Bevin said slyly. I watched him leave. Now that this is done, I call my attendant into the room. ¡°lord is there anyth¡¡± Before he could finish the sentence a small knife had been swung at him. There was a look of disbelief in the attendant¡¯s face, he hadn¡¯t done anything wrong. ¡°I am sorry commoner, but I cant risk people knowing my meeting with Bevin¡¡± I said. I walked over the corpse and left room, going to the dining room to have dinner with my family. .................................... Galahad POV: The journey had been amazing so far. I was never bored as I usually am. I had plenty of time to purify my mana, but also had time to talk and play with fellow church sayers, who were a very nice group of people. Many were families, who had been on the road for several years. I would often get hungry looks from many of the mothers in the caravan. They gave a gaze at me with eyes filled with hunger. They would look like they want to pick me up and cuddle me till oblivion, in their large bosoms. I couldn''t blame them. Not that I have a kid fetish or anything, but I was an extremely cute looking boy. Before the caravan had left my mother had taken me to a bathhouse wich was quite expensive for our family, as most of the time we would struggle to put money on the plate, and even a decent hot shower was a luxury to us. After years of not properly washing my hair one night at the bathhouse the amount of impurities that came from my body and hair must have clogged up the canals. My previously dirty blond hair, after having lost all its filth, returned to its original resplendent blonde and, had been tied up in a long braid that reached right above my waist. I had a face that was quite handsome, and with just a touch of femininity that gave me the look of a cute, but fetching child. I had unlike anyone they had seen before bright silver eyes which made me all the more attractive. Coupled with my small stature and cutenesss most of the mothers couldn''t control themselves from asking my mother to let their daughters marry me. Hahahaha¡ I would often chuckle at the thought and thank god for my appearance. My magic purification, had reached a whole new level after continuous practice for more than 10 years, I am now able to hold it for 8 hours before having to stop from mental exhaustion. The World Pulse meditation had now finished my purification of mana, which was the first stage and had entered the realm of 2nd stage of the meditation. This stage was called ¡°World¡¯s Weight¡± stage and it allowed me to purely strengthen my body, by imbuing my various cells with the elemental energy of my choosing. The knowledge GOD gave warned me to only pick one type of elemental energy and focus on only that for the 2nd stage. While the earlier stage improved my body strength, it only increased it in a miniscule amount. Even after 10 years of training I only had a body of an above average human, but by using this technique I was exponentially raising the strength of my body. This stage focused only on strengthening and is apparently the stage I had to stay in until I reached a power level of A rank. I only focused on imbuing my body with white elemental energy that was floating around me as I presumed it to be Light energy. I was standing there pondering about the various intricacies of magic when suddenly a beautiful girl of 19 with cascading brown hair and green eyes came to me holding a book, that had the words ¡°YMIR¡¯s CALL¡± written on it. My sister was walking towards as I was sitting on the edge of one of the carriages, as we were resting today. Just 5 days since we started on the caravan I was not the only one who had the attention, but my sister also got various love confessions from young priests. I would laugh at the sight as my sister would usually just reject them, with emotionless expression on her eyes without even hearing them out. I pity those poor blokes. My sister was already drop dead gorgeous and after the bathhouse she had become exponentially beautiful. Her various little blemishes were gone and her beauty had spread though out the slums that very night. Many of the slum boys there were heartbroken to learn that she was leaving on the church caravan. They had lost their Ice Cold Goddess. ¡°Gala, What are you doing?¡± she said giving her rare smile that was only restricted to her family. ¡°nothing just thinking about magic¡¡± I said giving her a smile. ¡°I doubt any of us can do it, we don''t have the bloodline. That''s what speaker Tristan says. ¡°I know but ever since that Leonel kid, showed me the dominance of magic, I am unable to think of anything else. She came closer hugging me, putting my arms around my shoulders. Her perky generous breasts were grazing my arm, as she spoke softly. ¡°Gala before you were born, mum was working for the Washing station for the queen right? She would come home everyday not tired and father would come home every 2 weeks.¡± ¡°we were happy, mother used to smile, and I used to get taught archery from dad. But the night you were born, father was killed.¡± I looked at her shocked beyond reason. I was born on the death of my father? I kept thinking about the hardships, the unrelenting screaming sensation, that came from the bottom of my stomach cause of hunger. I was angry at myself, I was angry at the world for taking away my family¡¯s happiness. I was then reminded of the words GOD had spoken, ¡°fate will be cruel to you.¡± I was utterly devastated. I didn''t think, that I was cause of misery in my family. ¡°Gala, I am not saying that your birth caused everything but, I think everything happens for a reason, Gala before in my life I had no reason, no aim, but the church caravan has been nice to me. I feel a real calling and I want to spread Ymir¡¯s words to the world. Mum and I are truly happy Gala without you we wouldn''t have found this utopia, so what if we cant do magic, what if we cant ever reach the higher echelons. But we can live happily here Gala lets find happiness here¡¡± she looked at me sincerity brimming in her deep green eyes. I nodded, a small tear streaking down my face. ¡°NO FAIR, you are sticking too close Sister Veilantif!!¡± Our emotional talk was disturbed by a small girl, of around 12 years old, wearing a flowing white cotton summer dress. She had short black hair and bright brown eyes. She was looking at me and sis, with red rosy cheeks. She was one of the friends I had made on my journey so far. She was the first of the children to talk to me, and would always blush fiercely, when I talked to her. It was abvious that she liked me. ¡°Sister Veilantif, please don''t hug Galahad like that, I don''t want him to grow up to be siscon, I plan to marry him.¡± The girl would often, tell me that we should get married, her childinsh whims were often interspersed with these erratic confessions. I would not say anything or talk back to her demands but when I do talk to her, she goes beet red, and stutters uncontrollably. I loved that honest side of her. ¡°Teresa, for the millionth time I cant marry you, I want to travel the world remember?¡± I questioned her. ¡°but we are me..men¡ment¡to¡to¡b¡e .¡± he stuttered I gave her smile stood up escaping from my sister¡¯s hug and went towards her. She became an even deeper shade of red, the closer I got; As I opened my mouth, I suddenly heard ¡°BANDITS, BANDITS RUN, HIDE, ESCAPE¡FELLOW CHURCHMAN ESCAPE¡± The next seen can only described in one word. Carnage 10 bandits riding horses came rushing in from the east side of the campsite, holding their swords in the ready and started cutting them down in a moments notice. Teresa screamed in the top of her lungs, crying at the site of her family getting chopped down, her fathers head cut clean off, and blood spurting like a Geyser from the opening of the severed head. The caravans were upturned; many were empty as most churchmen were doing their morning chores. One after another, more and more men came out of the carnage ready slay and slay and slay. My sister directly faced me, and told me to gather all the children here, and try to stay inside one of the upturned caravan. And stay there quietly and hide. My mother soon came rushing in blood all over her white clothes. If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation. I could hear some of the priest boys, saying that god is with him, and drawing his sword. Before one breath their heads was rolling in the dirt, and the assailants, had a grin was stretching from ear to ear. ¡°where did such strong bandits come from they all seem to be D level warriors.¡± Screamed Priest Jeremy, while begging the leader of the group to spare the children, the leader seemed to not care of anything as he skewered the mans head with his sword, right through the eye. I was suddenly, caught by a attacker, and he proceeded to slash me down, with my non existent battle skills, I quivered in fear as the strong sword came down, swiftly a white blur came in standing right infront me taking the full brunt of the sword attack. And the person pushed me out of the way right into the Briar Thorn bushes, which were just adjacent to the caravan filled with the children. To my dread I saw that the woman who defended me was none other than my mother. She had tears in her eyes as her lifeless soulless body dropped down, I could see that her last words were for me to not make a sound, from the finger over her mouth. My soul screamed, my mind went blank. I wanted to scream, my heart twisted and ached as I saw my own mother die in front of me. The thorns were digging deep into my skin as I wriggled and fought my away, out of them. But to no avail. The thorns dug deeper and deeper the more I fought, slowly reaching my bones. Then one of the bandits all gathered at the leader who seemed to be the one who killed my mother. He hadn¡¯t noticed that I was in the Briar Throns, and I was making no sound just watching as he proceeded to search for me. He eventually came across the upturned caravan. He opened the door to find all the children, huddled inside tears streaking down their face. They screamed and howled as the leader proceeded to drag them out one by one, cutting them down. I couldn''t bare see the sight as the child would be dragged out by his legs kicking and creaming, their nails breaking on the wooden door as they desperately held on to it digging their nails inside. The children couldn''t do anything. I could just watch them, my face going into distortion as I tried to scream but a sound never came out. Teresa was the last to be dragged out, her eyes still held resolve, she seemed to have thought that someone would come and save us, anyone. But no one came, and she was cut down just like the rest of them. I was praying to heaven, no I was praying to GOD, to please let my sister escape this carnage; but just then, an arrow whizzed right towards the leader coming from the woods behind the caravan, the leader dodged it with ease, and proceeded to run down at great speeds, to catch their assailant. Before minutes my sister, was brought kicking and screaming towards the place where the children were killed. My sister was brought to the center as they bandits eyed her with lecherous faces. Realization dawned on me, the bandits had the same look some of the men had, from when I was at the war, the look of lust, desire and thirst. I screamed but the sound each time escaped me, I was coward, I couldn''t scream because of my own cowardice. Each of the men proceeded to rip my sister¡¯s clothes to shreds, exposing her beautiful body, the ten men, looked greedily at her. Each of them proceeded to do unspeakable things to her. They tore into her body, taking her, thrusting their manhood into her. She screamed and I cried, I could do nothing I fought I tried to escape, this hook prison but th more I fought the further they dug. My sister kicked and screamed, yelling for Ymir to save her but nothing came, and eventually her lifeless soulless body lied there. Broken beyond repair¡ My mind went blank, If everything I had done since birth had amounted to nothing, that I couldn''t save my sister, or my mother then what was the point in this life, I was angry at everything, I was angry at the gods of this world, I was but foremost wanted to instill my wrath on these people. Slowly my mind broke, I had one thing in my mind, revenge, I wanted to kill them, slaughter them, destroy their souls. Something primal in my ssoul responded to my urge, I wanted slaughter, wanted death, I wanted REVENGE¡. My mind then snapped. Bevin¡¯s POV The whole camp site ran red. Blood in the gutters, blood on the flagstones, blood in the fountain. The corpses posed as corpses do. Some comical, reaching for the sky with missing fingers, some peaceful, coiled about their wounds. Flies rose above the wounded as they struggled. This way and that, some blind, some sly, all betrayed by their buzzing entourage. ¡°Water! Water!¡± It¡¯s always water with the dying. Strange, it¡¯s killing that gives me a thirst. And that was The Church Caravan. Two hundred people of the church lying with their mouths hanging open, some were holding swords that hadn¡¯t been used since its buying. You know, I warned them that we do this for a living. I said it to their leader, Priest Jeremy. I gave them that chance, I always do. But no. They wanted blood and slaughter, they believed Ymir will help them. And they got it. War, my friends, is a thing of beauty. Those as says otherwise are losing. If I¡¯d bothered to go over to old Jeremy, propped up against the fountain with his guts in his lap, he¡¯d probably take a contrary view. But look where disagreeing got him. ¡°Shit-poor church maggots.¡± I discarded a handful of fingers over Jeremy¡¯s open belly. He came to me, holding out his takings, as if it was my fault. ¡°Look! One gold ring. One! A whole caravan and one fecking gold ring. I¡¯d like to set the bastards up and knock ¡¯em down again. Fecking bog-churhchman.¡± He would too: he was an evil bastard, and greedy with it. I held his eye. ¡°Settle down, Brother Rike. There¡¯s more than one kind of gold in Church people.¡± We then brought a young beautiful, dame and had our way with her, poor girl couldn''t even take 3 of us before she died, from the trauma. I chuckled this trip had been quite productive. Suddenly I felt immense pressure building up, the whole world seem to weigh on me, I then saw all the hook briar thorns melt away revealing a small figure, of boy with flowing gold hair was covered completely in pure bluish white flames, the flames were flickering, and the heat from them was scorching inside of my cornea. My mind didn''t even have the time to think as the inside of my body melted from the sheer pressure that emanated from the boy. Me! A ¡°D¡± level warrior was burning away not from the flames, but the sheer pressure the boy emanated, I could see that my fellow bandits had gone through the same, and were reduced to nothing but puddles of meat. This boy slowly walked to me scorching the earth underneath, slowly cracks were appearing on his face and flames seeped out of them, he took one step and my body melted¡ Luthor¡¯s POV: I was returning from my secluded training as I heard that my daughter wanted to introduce me to my grandchildren. I was flying through the air, when I suddenly felt immense pressure coming from 40 kilometers away from me. The pressure was so strong that it pushed me a SS level fighter down to the ground, and stopped me in my tracks, I ran towards the source, in great speeds, and in 3 mins reached there to find a campsite filled with carnage, nothing but blood and guts were strewn on the ground. I then saw him, the boy was wearing nothing but he emanated such strong heat the armour on my body was slowly melting away, an artifact level item I was wearing was melting away from this boyos gaze alone. He looked at me and suddenly went limp, all the pressure was gone and the boy stood there before blood started spurting from him like a geyser, and he dropped to the ground. I cautiously went towards him, and saw that he was breathing small faint breaths. I held on to him and proceeded to run towards the capital, I was only 10 kilometers away from it and it took me only 4 mins to reach there with the boy in my arms, I ignored all the people who had paraded to see my return and ran towards the castle. I was fascinated with this boy, he had so much power in him, raw untainted power. I was bored of life before I met this boy, I wanted to save him , I was not excited for 200 years this feeling felt new to me, I was excited of this boys potential¡ I had to save him. Chapter 6- The Beginning Galahad POV For the longest time I studied revenge to the exclusion of all else. I built my first torture chamber in the dark vaults of imagination. Lying on bloody sheets in the Healing Hall I discovered doors within my mind that I¡¯d not found before, doors that even a child of nine knows should not be opened. Doors that never close again. I threw them wide. I was being rushed into a healing hall it seemed. Part of me wanted to let them go. I felt no pain any more, just a dull ache, and even that was fading. A peace folded me with the promise of forgetting. ¡°Sir!¡± A shout went up from one of the men. He was talking to a tall man who had flowing white beard, he had his arms crossed carefully inspecting me. I heard the clank of armour as the man strode across to see. ¡°Piece of a leather pouch?¡± he asked. ¡°Found it in the mud, the carriage wheel must have pushed it under.¡± The soldier paused. I heard scraping. ¡°Looks like a silver wing to me . . .¡± ¡°A falcon. A falcon on a silver field. It¡¯s High Magi house of Aerie¡¯s colours,¡± the knight gasped. High Magi? I had a name. A falcon in a field of silver. The insignia flashed across my eyes, seared deep by the lightning of last night¡¯s storm. I remember the ring that young magus boy was wearing, from the time I had taken the artifact, I noticed it was still nestled in my pocket. A fire lit within me, and the pain from a hundred hooks burned in every limb. A groan escaped me. My lips parted, dry skin tearing. ¡°He¡¯s saying something!¡± I heard him curse as the hook-briar found every chink in his armour. ¡°Quickly now! Pull this stuff apart.¡± ¡°save me¡¡± I groaned ¡°he¡¯s alive¡± One of the people around me said, I must have been moved. I thought. ¡°He¡¯s so white.¡± I guess the briar near bled me dry. So they fetched a cart and took me to the hall. I didn¡¯t sleep. I watched the sky turn black, and I thought. In the Healing Hall the Friar and his helper, dug the hooks from my flesh. My saviour, a man with shoulder length silver hair, arrived while they had me on the table with their knives out. ¡°Those are fire-cleaned knives I hope, Friar?¡± a man said he carried the Leo accent of the upper nobles in the inner city, a tendency to leave half of a word unspoken, as if an intelligent listener should be able to fill in the blanks. ¡°It is purity of spirit that will keep corruption from the flesh, Sir,¡± Friar said. He spared the man a disapproving glance, and returned to his digging. ¡°Even so, clean the knives, Friar. Holy office will prove scant protection from the Lord Luthor¡¯s ire if the boy dies in your halls.¡± The man set his book down on the table beside me, rattling a tray of vials at the far end. ¡° The thorns of the hook-briar are like to find the bone.¡¯¡± The friar traced a wrinkled yellow finger down the lines. ¡°¡®The points can break off and sour the wound.¡¯¡± Friar gave a sharp jab at that, which made me cry out. He set his knife down and turned to face the man. I could see only the friar¡¯s back, the brown cloth straining over his shoulders, dark with sweat over his spine. ¡°Sire,¡± he said. ¡°A man in your profession is wont to think all things may be learned from the pages of a book, or the right scroll. Learning has its place, sirrah, but do not think to lecture me on healing on the basis of an evening spent with an old tome!¡± Well, Friar won that argument. The sergeant-at-arms had to ¡°help¡± the man, seemingly a king from the hall. I guess even at ten I had a serious lack of spiritual purity, for my wounds soured within two days, and for nine weeks I lay in fever, chasing dark dreams along death¡¯s borderlands. They tell me I raged and howled. That I raved as the pus oozed from slices where the briar had held me. I remember the stink of corruption. It had a kind of sweetness to it, a sweetness that¡¯d make you want to hurl. The friar¡¯s aide, grew tired of holding me down, though he had the arms of a lumberjack. In the end they tied me to my bed. I learned from the man, with silver hair that the friar would not attend me after the first week. Friar said a devil was in me. How else could a child speak such horror? The High Magus of Aerie kept me alive. The promise of his pain crushed my own under its heel. Hate will keep you alive where love fails. And then one day my fever left me. My wounds remained angry and red, but they closed. They fed me chicken in soup, and my strength crept back, a stranger to me. The spring came to paint the leaves back upon the trees. I had my strength, but I felt something else had been taken. Taken so completely I could no longer name it. The man with the silver hair came to me the day the wounds were completely healed. He sat next to me while I was in bed. ¡°Boy what is your name ?¡± he asked, his eyes brimming with sympathy. I didn''t answer him I stared at my hands. A look of lifelessness was on me. I was almost devoid of emotion, I knew the thorns took something from me that night, something irreplaceable, I kept thinking of the words GOD had said to me. ¡°fate will be cruel to you¡± The words resounded in my head over and over again. I felt crippling guilt, my body felt similar to being under the weight of a mountain. I wanted nothing, I just wanted revenge. I wanted the High Magus on a stick, I wanted him to suffer, I wanted him to feel the main I felt, I wanted him die, to die, to die, to die, to die, to die, to die, to die, to die, to die, to die, to die, to die, to die, to die, to die, to die, to die, to die, to die¡ This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there. I turned my head to look at the man, he had a regal appearance, and was wearing numerous rings on his fingers, he had a short tuft of black hair, paired with striking blue eyes eyes. He had an inquisitive look on his face as he questioned me. I recognized that he wasn''t the man who had rescued me but there was a strong resemblance between the two men. I asked him.. ¡°Tell me lord,¡± I said ¡°is revenge an art or a science¡¡± Uther Pendragon¡¯s POV: The boy my father brought back was, bleeding heavily when he arrived at my doorstep. My father with his indifferent look ordered me to save the boy. My father¡¯s word was law. If I could not save this boy he might kill all the healers we have on staff. The boy¡¯s wounds were beyond severe. The thorns had dug so deep into his body, they were touching the small frail boy¡¯s bones. The Friar took utmost care in healing and I frequently supervised the process. I would often see that the friar had a look of surprise as apparently the body this boy possessed had the regenerative capabilities of a ¡°C¡± ranked magus warrior. The wounds would elf heal once the hook¡¯s from the briar were taken out. The boy¡¯s body dispelled all the contamination by itself, and spurted pus and disgust from small crevices in his body. The boy howled and raged, swearing and cursing saying that he would have his revenge. That he would kill, kill and kill some more. The boy needless to say frightened me, a ¡°A¡± rank warrior, and the king of the human empire. The boy recovered in 9 weeks and my father, had waited in the family training dojo outside refusing to see his grandchildren until he knew this child was safe, I was surprised I had never seen him take such care with anyone let alone, a boy who looked to be of common birth. ¡°is revenge an art or a science¡¡±, he boy asked¡ I was taken back, I had not expected that this to be his words. I had noticed that he had quite a resplendent appearance and an appearance that was on par with my cute sons appearance. His golden hair had come undone from its long braid and his silver eyes glowed with rage, and wrath. The door opened and my father walked in, a jolt went up in my spine, after not seeing him for almost 20 years, he hadn¡¯t aged one bit, so It was true that once reaching ¡°S¡± rank the body would no longer age, and achieve immortality. My memories with my father only ranged from brutal training sessions to ice cold greetings. I knew from a long time that he held no love for me. But he was my father nonetheless. He had deemed me unworthy of learning his Spear God techniques when I was 16 years old and had left to train in seclusion. He had returned today for the first time in 20 years. I since then trained my hardest and achieved an ¡°A¡± rank adventurer¡¯s status and became on of the most powerful beings on the human continent but that still didn''t warrant any of his love or attention. ¡°Uther¡you may leave now. I need to talk to the boy alone!¡± Galahad¡¯s POV My savior walked into the room his eyes brimming with, curiosity, he dismissed the lord without a care and sat in the chair. ¡°Boy, what is your name tell me about yourself?¡± I didn''t want to anger this man, he exuded a far stronger aura than the previous man. ¡°My name is Galahad Veilantif I am, from the slums and I recently joined the church caravan when I got ambushed by bandits and my whole family was killed.¡± I said in a indifferent tone. The man didn''t even flinch at this he seemed impenetrable, a mountain he wouldn''t be surprised by anything. ¡°Boy. The world is filled with unfair, unnatural and unforgivable thing. You happened to survive such a fate be thankful. I am more curious about why you have such an unnatural amount of mana. I have not seen anyone with such amount of mana. You seem to have more than 100 times the size of my capacity, which is revered to be one of the largest on the continent. You even have more than that old Wolf War God.¡± I looked at him putting up a fa?ade of surprise. I didn''t want to explain to him the reason for my powers. ¡°Boy, my name is Luthor Pendragon and I have taken interest in you.¡± What do you think abour being my first apprentice. I was shocked, this man was the legendary Luthor, Luthor Pendragon !!! rumoured to have made and mastered one of the most powerful fighting techniques in the world. This mans legends were told as stories to children. He was one of the most powerful individuals in the world. ¡°Child, I have never seen such a potential in a noble child nonetheless a child from the slums. You have the potential to become as powerful as the Wolf War God, if not more powerful.¡± He exclaimed he had a look of madness in his azure blue eyes. ¡°Child you are now to become my apprentice, my only apprentice¡¡± Chapter 7- Hell鈥檚 Cliff Hey guys this is the final chapter for the weekend... I live in Australia so right now it is Sunday night for me ahahahah. Any way i decided i am going to post 2-3 chapters every weekend, and am going to keep updating for the foreseeable future. I know its lame to ask, but i want my fiction to be read by more people, i worked hard on this and it suck that i got 2.5 stars. Please tell me ways i can improve my fiction. If anyone has free time, i am looking for PR and would like a partner i can discuss some of the ideas i have for this fiction... Thanks for reading. ............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. Galahad¡¯s POV: I was taken back by his suggestion for me to become his apprentice. Me¡ I who couldn''t save or protect my own family was being given a chance to become strong, extremely strong. I thought this may be one of the games GOD is playing. She warned about fate, but nonetheless keeps giving me opportunities to grow strong, stronger than anything on this continent. ¡°remember child, my training is not something that is for the faint hearted, it is not for someone who doesn''t have resolve. I myself am the only one able to complete it in the whole of the continent. But this training will give you a path to learn one the five Prime Fighting techniques. The unrelenting barrage that is the Spear God technique.¡± The man had a proud look on his face, he was obviously a man of great power, and was offering him a chance of a lifetime. ¡°Will I get to kill the High Magus of this country¡¡± I asked my silver eyes burning with rage, and wrath. ¡°Child, to kill such man you not only need an immense amount of physical power. As he himself is an ¡°A¡± ranked Magus, but you also need societal power. I am assuming you don''t want your revenge to be so boring as to just his death.¡± ¡°No I want him to feel humiliation, suffering beyond measure, and at the end of it I want him to come begging me to kill him, just to make it stop¡¡± I was imagining various gruesome and ghastly ways to torture him emotionally, physically. Luthor¡¯s face made an unusual smile at that comment he was obviously, impressed. ¡°Boy you have 3 years before the ceremony of awakening, just from your mana alone I can tell you will be easily able to attend the top training academy in the continent. Make a name for yourself there, gain some allies, do not become a lone wolf. Become a leader, a force to be reckoned with and when the time is right you can easily kill anyone you want¡¡± His face was stoic through out the explanation, but I could see a glint when he finished the sentence. ¡°Ok, Master you are now, my instructor, I will work hard and try to become someone worthy of being your disciple.¡± I said. I slowly walked in tow with my new mater from the healing halls, to the main door of the castle. The castle, dubbed Lionsden, based on their family sigil of the silver lion, stood majestically. It was an enormity by itself making it not only intimidating, but also inconceivably large. There in the throne room waited, a family, of four, the man from before I had guessed to be the king of the human country, Uther Pendragon and his family. ¡°Father, I thought we would have audience with you privately, just family,¡± Uther said, I could see that he was somewhat annoyed by the attention I got from Luthor. I lowered my head not daring to look at the king. ¡°boy don''t lower your head,¡± Luthor urged, I slowly tilted up to see that the king and the wife were scowling. ¡°I have decided to make him my first apprentice, disciple, he will become my family, so he should be your family from now too¡¡± Luthor proclaimed, with a stoic and stern face. ¡°Father...wait you cannot be serious, this boy is from the slums, how could you accept him as a disciple. How can he have magical potential ?¡± Uther had a look of disbelief in him, he had hoped that this visit would help him cement his relationship with his father by showing him the talent his own son has. ¡°Father in Law, your grandson, Arthur is a splendid child, he should become your next apprentice,¡±the queen urged, pointing to a small child of the same stature, but had silver hair and blue eyes. ¡°You dare give me an order¡I have not come for your permission, young lady, there are more than 5 ¡°S¡± level experts in the human continent alone have them teach that child, I have chosen my disciple and will not be deterred..¡± The whole royal family looked at me with eyes filled with disbelief, except for the boy, he looked quite giddy contrary to the family. He walked up to me eye filled with charisma, body oozing with confidence, and said. ¡°Hi I am Arthur, I guess from today onwards we are brothers, I am sorry for the pain you suffered, and hope your family finds peace n the next world. Rest assured once I am in reign I will expel this country of bandits!¡± I was taken back, not one person except for Luthor had said they were sorry, I glanced at him, and this little boy may be the most mature out of the whole bunch of them. He then bowed gave a small respectful greeting to his grandfather and proceeded to stand next to his father. The whole family were taken back by the magnetism this boy had he hadn¡¯t cared, that I was from the slums, or that I had stolen his position, as the disciple of the strongest man in the country. I knew then and there that this man would become a great king, a great man, and a great friend. The queen and the king realized their foolish ness laughed and said. ¡°I guess my son is destined to learn the human technique of the 5 prime fighting techniques,¡± The family soon enough warmed up to me, Uther, Lorelai, and the little girl named Lily, were quite generous towards me, they were the most powerful family in the human kingdom but they never showed their superiority towards me. Through out the dinner I ate like an animal, gouging anything and everything like there would be no tomorrow. The family bewildered at my eating prowess and coupled with my small body, wondered where all the food went? That night I was told that from tomorrow onwards my training would start, and I would live in a small outhouse in the palace courtyard, as per my request I do not want to be seen by anyone, during my stay of 3 years, from there I would go to the academy. ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ END OF ARC 1 Galahad POV: Uther called up Arthur and me to the training grounds, the next morning, I stood there ramrod straight while Arthur was rather calm, and had an excited face on him. ¡°Hi Arthur, Galahad, from today onwards I am going to be training your body to the extreme, your training will consist of excruciating pain, and will challenge both your mind and your body. Training will go from 4 am every morning, till 6 pm then, you will go to your respective Masters, to learn your weapon and combat.¡± He had a wide grin on him, he seemed to be enjoying himself. ¡°My job is to make you pansies, into warriors of at least a rank ¡°C¡±. You will train, and strive until this is over, and then you will completely be in the hands of you Masters.¡± He then pointed at a distant cliff, about 10 kilometers away, he pointed at it, and said, you will run there and climb that mountain, by 6 pm today or else there will be no food, and as an extra bonus¡ He suddenly closed his eyes as if to say something telepathically and a roar of a lion flowed down the distant cliff and in a blur it came running right next to, Uther, he patted the giant 20 foot tall lion and scratched it under its chin, it growled and rolled onto its back. ¡°This is the legendary, magical beast Silver furred Steel Lion, his name is, Nemean I had him since I was about 12 years old. All noble children when reaching the age of 12 would get their magical beast companion, from the Endless forest of the west. Most children are too scared to venture into such dangerous lands so they get experts to go get a baby magical beast, and help them make a contract of binding. Our house of Pendragon are not cowards, so at the age of 12 both of you will venture into the forest by yourself and find yourself your beast. ¡° Uther explained ¡°Galahad, now you are also an honorary member of the house of pendragon,¡± Uther said looking at me. I nodded, seemingly with no reaction, but I was happy, I had a family again. ¡°But for now, he is in charge of ¡®motivating¡¯ you guys, OK¡± Uther continued with cruel smirk on his face. Arthur came close to me and said, ¡°I heard that the magical beast my father owns is a peak stage ¡°A¡± rank beast, his one bite would make us into a meat paste.¡± A cold tingle ran down my spine as I thought of the possibility of becoming this Lions lunch. I looked it his sharp canine teeth, coupled with his 10 foot tall ice white appearance and, his sharp steel like silver mane, he was truly an awe inspiring sight. I nodded slightly and decided to run as fast as I can, to get away from that thing. We both started running, and we ran like hell, both of us knew that the lion wouldn''t kill us, but we still didn''t want to be on the business end of that paw. Surprisingly, Arthur was able to keep up with my speed, we ran so fast, and in just about an hour reached the base of the cliff. Arthur and I started climbing with all our might, slowly scaling this cliff, by finding small crevices in the giant rock. I reached about 10 metres up the cliff before I lost footing and fell down, making a loud thud on the ground. I slowly crept back up, before I heard another loud thud and Arthur came down, he grinned at me. I swear to god this kid, is a freaking monster. Suddenly when I went to help Arthur up, a large paw hit me square on the side, and I went crashing right into the cliff. I remembered what Uther warned me about. Arthur shot me glance to keep going up and not worry about him. I scaled up the wall not stopping this time I got a bit over 10 meters before falling again. I continuously did this and before I know it my muscles were screaming, I felt as though the weight of the world was weighing on my muscle, I could feel the small tendons and muscles tearing away, but I couldn''t stop, I relentlessly climbed every time my will broke, I remembered the image of my mother, sister and their lifeless corpses, I would rise again and again. I could feel the phoenix soul¡¯s regenerative capabilities, as my ligaments and body broke the regenerative capabilities were slowly working faster and at a greater rate, the change was miniscule but slowly it was becoming stronger. On the other hand Arthur was also striving to go higher and faster but his body was not as powerful as mine and fell after the 80th try or so. I went up to his unconscious body; I saw that the lion was winding up its paw to strike me again, I quickly carried him onto my body wrapped his arms, which were swung over me in a piggy back position, before pinning his two arms together, and using my other arm I started scaling up higher and higher. I tried and failed continuously and so as to not hurt Arthur I used my body to cushion the fall, I eventually went unconscious¡ I woke up in a warm bed, in the infirmary again, the Friar was looking over me saying that Arthur and I had been unconscious for 3 hours and it was almost 6 pm now. I quickly woke Arthur up before rushing towards my Master Luthor¡¯s compound which located behind the castle. Luthor looked at me with a surprised look on his face, and came up to me. ¡°I didn''t expect you to come on the first, day I myself on that regiment was unconscious for 2 days when my father had me go through the same thing.¡± His face had a curious look on him, like when a mad scientist found a specimen he likes. ¡°Ok, son I will now teach you one of the 5 prime fighting techniques of Jorg. I myself trained in this technique, since I was a child and it of the 5 fighting styles is called the most powerful in overall strength. This technique not only, increases ones strength but also increases, ones speed. Of the 5 primes it is the most versatile and the most all rounded style.¡± He slowly led me to the basement room as he talked. The basement was locked by a huge door, and was only able to activate when Luthor infused his man into it. The door opened and I could see that the room was completely dark, and only glowed with a faint blue fire, that barely illuminated the room. Luthor led me to the northern end of the square shaped room which had 3 spears resting on the wall. One was a golden naginata with archaic runes running down the shaft. Another was a black, pitch black halberd with similar archaic runes that were written on the bladed edge of the spear. The third and final spear was pure silver, a trident it almost glowed even in the dim lit room. Unlike the other spears it had only one magic circle that was in the biggest central pike and right in the middle prong of the trident, unconsciously I was drawing near the the spear with my hand outstretched. The spear was approximately 10 foot high and was towering over me. It had a strange energy emanating from it. I could sense that these spears were not ordinary by any means, but the silver one intrigued me. Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings. ¡°Pick one Galahad!¡± he said ¡°All these weapons are Artifact grade weapons. They are weapons I assembled after travelling years across the western forest. Each of them were in a lair of a ¡°S¡± level beast, I do not know where they came from but they are most precious.¡±He said. I was shocked he was ready to part with such an item, just for the sake of his disciple. ¡°Why are you giving me such a thing master?¡± I questioned ¡°HAHAHAHA,¡± he bellowed. ¡° I would not part with them if they were of importance to me child. These artifacts, although invaluable are only as strong as the user. Once your blood touches the weapon, it would become strong enough for you to wield it efficiently. It will grow stronger together with you, as your strength improves so will it, as you grow the weapon will grow with you, if you become a ¡°S¡± ranked warrior than it will become a weapon powerful enough to withstand an onslaught from another ¡°S¡± ranker.¡± ¡°I myself have had my spear since the age of 10, same age as you, that does not mean these weapons are available to all nobles, no these type of weapons are only available to those with an ¡°S¡± ranked warrior in their rank able to get them from the forest.¡± He said. ¡°Now choose before I choose one for you,¡± I went up to the silver trident held it in my arms and bit a small hole in my thumb to run my blood into it. The spear which was almost 3 times the size of me before slowly shrinked, becoming just over my height, I could hold it freely, and its weight was not as heavy as it used to be. I tried to twirl it around and play with it. ¡°This spear is now bonded to you, it is your companion, treat it with care, and respect. Consider it your extension a third arm of a sort. It will be inside your body, and you can call upon it at anytime you want. My grandson also has a similar weapon but it seems he is swordsman like his father.¡± He continued.¡± Name it boy, it is now yours and your alone.¡± ¡°Longinus,¡± I said, thinking about the famous spear that killed god from my past life, ¡°I will name this spear Longinus.¡± (Longinus: looks like the spear the guy is holding. The spear from Mu Alexius djinn equip Magi http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/magi/images/c/c8/Mu_Djinn_Equip.png/revision/latest?cb=20130310201738) He then led me outside. ¡°Ok Galahad, even before I teach you techniques of the Spear God style, you need to have a firm grasp of your body, and its capabilities, you need to able to dodge and spin from any projectile and you need to be able to sense any and all onslaught with relentless barrage of dodges.¡± Suddenly a rock flow towards me hitting me right on the jaw, blood spurted from m mouth. ¡°what was that for !!!!¡± I yelled. ¡°Dodge Galahad, dodge,¡± he urged Another rock hit me on the arm, and before I know it rocks were coming from all directions hitting me and bruising me all over my body, couldn''t take it anymore, the dimly lit room made it harder for me to dodge as I could barely see the oncoming onslaught of rock projectiles. I closed my eyes and tried to perceive my surroundings, I managed to dodge ten of the projectiles before the onslaught stopped. ¡°Galahad, that is it for today, go back and rest, today must have been hard for you. Remember you will graduate from this stage of practice after dodging all of the 900 projectiles.¡± I gasped I had been hit by 900 rocks how am I able to stand I thought¡ Arthur¡¯s POV: I was glad to find out that I would not be grandpa¡¯s apprentice, as I was rather fond of the Sword God style I have been learning, this style was passed down from the first human blessed by Ymir and is one of the 5 prime fighting styles. I learned that gradpa had gotten hold of the Spear God technique from a magical beast in the western forest, and was told that this was the technique that the beast kings used to train. I was shocked to learn about Galahad¡¯s past, I learned that his family and all his friends were killed right infront of him, by a group of bandits sent by the High Magus. I was shocked hear that. I would often see the man at numerous parties held by my family, and he would always be friendly to me. During the training session on the first day I was even more shaken to see that he was able to keep up with my pace in running and climbing, in fact he was faster, stronger and more resilient. I smiled at him after our first fall from the cliff before I saw him getting ploughed by that asshole lions paw. I was surprised, I was sure that Galahad would be unconscious if not completely broken, but to my surprise, he stood up and continued to climb. I didn''t want to get left behind, this was the first time I had found someone capable of keeping up with me. No he was better than me, I strived my muscles ached but I didn''t give up, but my body failed me eventually, and I was unconscious on the base of the cliff. I was woken up by Galahad at the infirmary when he immediately rushed to grandpa¡¯s place to continue hi training. I groaned and moaned and slowly walked towards Sir Reilly to continue my sword training, I was already proficient with the sword and had the for perfect so I would just practice my Sword God style, to perfection slowly delving into the advance moves. I was thinking about the incidents that happened this far, and was told by Friar, that Galahad had carried me for twenty reps on his back so that the lion would not hurt as I lay on the base. I knew this man would never, betray me, he would never abandon me, he was my brother. Throughout the Sword God training I kept thinking back to the manner in which Galahad approached each and every task with tenacity, I didn''t want to be inferior to him, I pushed myself harder, and never gave up. I swung my sword down, making a whistling sound as it went down. The main crux of the sword god style consisted of being able to deal damage while, dodging escaping and, misleading the opponent. An expert of the sword god style would not have a single cut on him at the end of the battle and his blade would stay clean, throughout the ordeal. It was even rumored that a person who has surpassed the realm of an expert, would be able to split mountains, and cause distortion in space itself with a swing of the sword. This level was never achieved by anyone except the first ever human, blessed by the goddess Ymir. I did, the first stance swinging forwards at an extremely high speed, then I swung to right while coming down from the top. This was the first advance level stance of the sword god style, to mislead the enemies into thinking that a downward slash would occur but mid way you change the direction of the swing instantaneously cutting across your opponent. I practiced and continued practicing, the sword god style was extremely taxing on the muscle in the arms, they would need to be able to swing and parry in any direction at any time. I strived hard, and was aided from the meditation, which instilled my body with endless energy each time after the meditation. Uther¡¯s POV: I was listening to Namean as he explained to me in great detail of how hard the boys pushed themselves. I was surprised to find my son had climbed almost 80 times before falling on the base of the cliff unconscious, I myself had fallen unconscious on the tenth try was deemed an extremely strong boy in mind and spirit. I was extremely proud of my son, he was gifted beyond measure and would one day make a splendid, king, and than Namean told me of how Galahad had done almost a hundred, and had done the last 20 with my son on his back, afraid that the lion would hurt him if he was still. I was extremely delighted at this boy, he was kind and caring towards someone he had met only once before. But what truly scared me is that this child had done something that no one could have done he scaled the wall a hundred times, although not getting farther than 10 metres above the ground, he had done the last 20 with another child on his back and while using only one of his hands to pull himself up. This kid was a monster, he was strong, abysmally strong, that scared me. IF he has such potential at a young age what would become of him in the future. I was filled with awe when I thought about how powerful he would become. Galahad¡¯s POV: That night I again sat with, the royal family to have dinner. Lily slowly ate and told us about her stories of learning, our worlds history from the tutors. I found her to be delight I had never had a little sister before, and her cute appearance paired with her childish personality I would just melt from her cute ness. After finding that me and Arthur¡¯s hands were too bruised from the exercise regiment, the queen shot a hateful glance at her husband, before slowly moving close to me and Arthur we were sitting next to each other. She then proceeded to feed us by hand. ¡°Queen¡ no I cant let you feed me,¡± I said hurrily backing away. ¡°You are now part of the family son, so you are my son, I will not be able to tell the world that I have such a splendid son, as you are to remain secret, but that does not mean I will be any less of a mother to you, ¡° she said a motherly look on her face. I was instantly taken a back to the times my mother would feed me as a child, how she would not let anyone have me, in fear that they would take me away, how she would always give me more food than herself, so that I would grow strong. Unconsciously tears were streaking down my face, and I saw that the queen¡¯s eyes were filled with sympathy. ¡°Thank you¡¡mother,¡± I said unable to hold back my tears, and she tightly hugged me, telling me that everything¡¯s going to be alright. Arthur smiled at me and said that him and I were brothers now, and we would always be brother. I was crying my eyes out, and the whole family were looking at me with eyes filled with sympathy. That night I continued to train my Worlds Weight meditation, I felt that my bones and muscles which were torn had now been almost regenerated and were not bigger but had twice as much power condensed in them, and they were more hungry for the elemental energy around me. I continued to train everyday, and I continued to meditate every night, I was unstoppable and no one would hinder me on my road to revenge. 3 months later¡ Galahad¡¯s POV: I was scaling up the cliff almost at the top, my muscles were burning with pain, and my fingers felt like they would break at anytime, Arthur was directly in front of me, climbing up the path, we had vowed to finish this climb today, we were going to finish this hell today. My muscles were searing with pain, my eyes were blurry, I could see that Arthur was almost there with just one steps away from the edge, I willed my self to keep going, this cliff was approximately 100 metres high and we were going to finish climbing it, both of us 10 year old boys, something like this is unfathomable to almost all other children of this age. The day was extremely dry and sweat poured down my back, the cliff was extremely dry and powdery and made it harder for us to hold on. We were almost at the edge, when all of sudden, Arthur lost is footing and slipped falling down, he had a look of disbelief in his eyes¡ We were so close¡ That damn lions paw hurt like a bitch but, we were slowly getting used to it, but it didn''t mean that we wanted to get hit by a ¡°A¡± ranked beast. I quickly grabbed him by his leg, holding onto the cliff with one of my arms, which were threatening, to tear off under both of our weight. I felt my regeneration work, as my torn muscle began to grow and fix themselves. ¡°Arty I am going to swing you up okay¡¡± ¡°Alright, Gala,¡± he said using my nickname, that most of the royal family used. It reminded me of my mother and sister but instead of sadness it gave me resolve, resolve to fight on, resolve to become stronger. I swung him with all my might making him land directly onto the top of the cliff. I was happy one of us had managed to climb it. I felt my hand slipping from the immense stress, I was not disappointed but I was sad that we couldn''t finish it together. Abruptly, my arm was caught I saw that Arthur had instead of resting, grabbed my falling self and with all his might pulled me to the top. We both lied faced up on top of the cliff catching our breath. We looked at each other and smiled. There was an unspoken brotherhood between us. We would face anything and everything together. We were, slowly but surely becoming stronger, becoming fiercer, and becoming brothers¡ Chapter 8- Spear God Hello guys croppingprince8 here, sorry for anyone i have offended for using scenes from some of my beloved books, it was not my intention to anger anybody, i would gladly stop posting this ff if it offends anyone i am extremely sorry. I have only used scenes of the meeting between "Gala and Leonel", and the notion of being stuck in thorns in my ff, which i have been inspired by the two wonderful stories. "Demon King" by Cinda Williams Chima and "Prince of thorns" by Mark Lawrence I figured as the whole point of a fanfiction is implementing your own ideas into existing story to create your view of the particular world, i thought using a catalyst similar to that of those in the stories was justified. I did not belive that by using similar scenarios, to develop my story i would offend anybody. If i have offended anyone i am extremely sorry, special apology goes to Malikus, who i feel i have particularly wronged as i may have upset him with my implementation of similar events from his beloved novels. I can assure you that i have only used those two scenarios, and that the rest of my fanfiction is as original as it can be for a re:fanfic. Please tell me if you wish for me to stop posting this fanfic, and please tell me if you wish for me not to stop posting on this website I will decide to post or not to post depending on the comments you give me, i have already thought of the story up to the chapters 40 and would really like to continue with your permission thankyou. Please enjoy the latest chapter below..... ........................... ...................................................... ........................... ........................... ........................... ........................... ........................... ........................... ........................... Galahad POV: We were at the top of cliff looking over the horizon, the view was beautiful breathtaking. I was standing close to edge gazing at the setting sun, its red tinge covering the city in a red blanket. Arthur was standing next to me, as always he had his wide grin on him, looking over the horizon. ¡°One day, Gala, One day I am going to rule over this place¡¡± ¡°I know, Arty, I know.¡± I said, using a nick name I came up with, he didn''t seem to like it but who cares. ¡°I want you to help me, I want you to become my sword, become my will, let us together make the most peaceful, prosperous city in the continent.¡± Arthur said, his grin turning into a determined smile, I had only seen this look on him once, When he vowed to dispel the human country of the bandits. A promise he made to me. ¡°Arty, I don''t even know what the future has in store for me, I don''t know what our lives will be like later graduating from the academy in 10 years.¡± I said. To be honest, I did want to change this land with him, I did want to make this country into something that the other kings would be envious of, but¡ I did not know if fate still had something in store for me, and if the past is any indication, it seemed to want to take from the people I most love, the people I want to protect. My mind was a mess I didn''t know what to do. I couldn''t tell Arty anything, but I knew, at the same time GOD wanted me to do good in this world. ¡°Alright Arty, lets do this I will help you,¡± I said. I didn''t know if I could escape fate again but next time a calamity occurs in my life, sure as hell I will not let anyone I love die, I will protect them, I will become strong, stronger than anyone on this continent, stronger than the SSS ranked warriors, and I will become stronger than the gods. I looked at the distant sun, stretched my palm out to it and clenched my fists. I will become powerful I thought to myself. We returned to the palace right on time, to find that Uther and Namean, had been waiting for us. I looked at Uther who had an unusually giddy and almost devilish grin on him. I knew that grin. I had seen it before, it was when he first proposed us a way to climb the cliff. I knew something bad was coming¡ He congratulated us on completing the first task of climbing the cliff, he then continued to explain the next phase of training. ¡°Now that you have completed the first phase, we will move on, the next phase is exactly the same as the one before, you will be climbing the cliff with Namean giving some motivational pats on the back¡¡± I coughed when he said motivational pats, each of his pats, destroyed my shoulder joints, 5 ribs and ripped open some of my tendons, if it wasn''t for my enhanced healing I might have died from my bones breaking off and lodging themselves into my heart. ¡°You will only do it while wearing these rings this time.¡± He handed to us two rings which instantly, tightly grasped our finger. We didn''t feel anything at the beginning until, Uther said, ¡°gravit¨¢cie akt¨ªvny¡± me and Arty suddenly fell to the ground, almost getting pushed towards the floor by an unnatural force that was like the weight of the world was resting on our shoulders. I was on one of my knees with every ounce of my will to stop myself from eating the dirt on the floor. Arty didn''t fare better under the immense pressure Arty held on for 10 seconds before he coughed up blood, and collapsed on to the ground. I couldn''t hold on anymore, I slowly crawled under the immense pressure towards Arty, crawling with all my might, I needed to get that ring off him. I couldn''t believe that his own father the king would do such a thing to his own son, I was about one meter away from Arty when I could no longer hold on and I was unconscious again. I woke up in the healing halls, the Friar was looking at me, ¡°Boy you seem to come to this place a lot, have gone fond of this old Friar¡¡± I gave him a quick glance before frantically searching for Arty, he had to be okay, i would never forgive myself if another one of my beloved people passed away. ¡°Sir, please tell me where is Arthur, I need to see him, please sir,¡± I pleaded. ¡°Child you worry not for yourself but for others¡hmmm¡maybe you have what it takes to heal people, child you want to learn healing magic. Also do not worry he is fine, the king would never let anything happen to his heir, he dotes on him too much, ahahahah,¡± he looked at me and continued ¡°Boy you were affected by 100 times your own gravity, I have never seen someone withstand that, even our king who was called a genius at that time instantly fell unconscious, to see a boy withstand it for 1 second is a miracle but the kings son withstood it for 10 seconds, that was unheard of, he would become a terrifying existence¡¡± he then looked at me, as if I were an enigma something he could not understand an outlier of sorts. ¡°But you boy, you managed to not only withstand it for a whole of 30 seconds, and you were able to move to try and help your friend. Boy you may be the most abysmal, terrifying and paradoxical existence in this whole continent, you would make a great change to this world child, I can feel it¡¡± he looked at me with awe and a hint of fear. I couldn''t blame him, I felt as though my body was healing itself continuously, and was being destroyed at the ame time by the pressure, I felt a though once again my regenerative abilities grew, they were steadily becoming faster and healing at a greater rate but, with this just one horrifying experience it seemed to have exponentially grew becoming almost 50% stronger. ¡°Boy to be honest, I didn''t even need to mend your broken blood vessels or clear out the various blood clots that I had to do for the young prince, your body seems to heal itself continuously, child I have never seen anything like it. What are you?¡± The atmosphere was getting rather, intrusive for me; I did not intend to reveal my history to anyone on this planet let alone, someone I barely knew. I slowly tried to slip away from him edging to the bed. ¡°Boy you need not tell me your secret it is fine, but child I was wondering if you are interested in healing magic. I feel as though you may have a knack for it what do you think..¡± The Friar said eyes filled with determination. ¡°I do not know friar, if it helps me save people I more than happy to learn it, I would like to become someone able to protect the ones I love.¡± ¡°I can see resolve in your eyes child, let me tell you healing magic is not something meant for the faint of heart. It tests your very limits of your soul, when doing healing magic you take on the ailments of the person you are healing, and imbue them with your own mana, to help accelerate the regenerative properties. What do you think child do you have resolution to learn this magic.¡± He questioned me. I thought back to the thousands of soldier who I had fought beside, their open wounds, their blood oozing from the mounds of flesh that would be taken out just from a simple barrage of bullets. I thought back to stench, the gore, the disgusting sight of the rotten bodies of our comrades we had to burn, just so we would not catch any diseases. I thought back to various times when a soldier would sleep never to wake up as he had gotten an infection, from the slightest of cuts and the army could not afford the luxury of a tetanus shot. I had not only gone through the military just as a soldier, but prior to it I was a medical students studying how to save people. That to me was the epitome of humanity, to be able to save a life, the look a person would give you just because you relieved them from immense pain. This man was willing to teach me such sacred magic, the magic to save a life, the magic to reduce your loved ones pain. I nodded. ¡°Friar, please teach me ways to save a person,¡± I said, my resolute tone caught the Friar of guard even his aides, and apprentices did not have such unyielding eyes, full of drive. ¡°Come to me later tonight after your training with Lord Luthor, I will introduce, you to the ways of a healer.¡± He said before walking away. I was sure I noticed a skip in his step; I guess there was no demand for healer in this world, I thought. ¡. ¡°What took you so long child !¡± Luthor yelled. ¡°Sorry, master I was talking to the Friar and the time got the better of me, I am ready to receive any punishment you deem necessary,¡± I said. ¡°Alright run around my estate 10 times and come back, before the hour passes, if you are unable to come I will cancel todays training!¡± he said. I ran faster than ever before, I did not want to fall behind, every lesson gave me an opportunity to further my dodging capabilities, I had just been able to move my body effectively and build up enough stamina to dodge 900 projectiles of rocks of all different sizes, but that was no reason to slack off, the more resolutely one trains the more progress he would have I thought. The estate of the Pendragons was not something to be squandered about, it was immensely enormous and the whole estate would have a circumference of about 10 kilometers, but my body¡¯s power had grown exponentially from the pressure from the ring and my previous time of just finishing ten runs in an hour, had changed to being able to do the whole course in less then 45 mins. I returned to find that master was quietly meditating, trying to find ways to train himself to make himself stronger. I learned from master that after reaching the level of an ¡°S¡± rank warrior or mage one would no able to no longer be able train in the usual method of just continuously practicing but they would have to meditate hoping for a sudden insight in a method to train or enhance their power. Luthor in the past was famous for finding a meditative method that had given him such insights into his Spear God style that he would be able to create a spear capable of defeating any other normal ¡°S¡± ranked warrior or mage from just any old object. His most famous battle was the, dubbed the ¡°battle of the stick¡± where he defeated the king of the demon country with just a stick on the ground, and with just one movement of his hand. This novel''s true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there. When he saw me his eyes suddenly opened and I noticed that there was a swirling mass of green and brown dots encircling his eyes. ¡°Gala you seem to have returned quiet early, I am surprised your power seemed to have grown not in a small amount. You must be a peak stage ¡°D¡± level warrior now¡a boy of 10 reaching such a stage that was never heard of, ¡° he said, he seemed to have a hint of pride in himself, he must surely be proud of his apprentice. ¡°Now that you are able to dodge every projectile your foot movements seem to have the necessary skill to start learning the Spear God style.¡± He said ¡°Finally, master it has been long overdue, learning that Arty is already learning some of the advance moves of the Sword God style was aggravating me a little,¡± I said chuckling. ¡°Alright put this ring on your finger,¡± He said, handing me the same ring that Uther had given which almost destroyed every blood vessel in my brain. ¡°Master, I haven¡¯t done anything wrong, I do not understand why Arty and I had to go through such immense pain. I am not questioning your intellectual authority I would just like to know your thought process.¡± I inquired. ¡°Boy, this ring is not a torture devise, it is ring that was made by an artisan friend I met on the shores of the endless sea, right south on the border of the human country. He was not big in stature but he had best skills as a crafter and an artisan I had seen on any being in this continent.¡± He said. I concluded that this so called artisan must have been a dwarf from the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, he seemed to have somehow ended up on shore and befriended master. Of course I could not tell master that, the secret of this world, and its knowledge is not something that I should be possessing. He continued, breaking my train of thought saying ¡°This ring child is imbued with strong gravity magic, and can only be activated by an earth style magus, when activated it would increase the amount of gravity on a person by a degree of your choosing. Uther under my advice tested you by increasing your gravity by 20 times your normal rate. I was surprised at your resiliency you withstood it for 30 whole seconds, if a normal boy of your age went through that he would die in an instant..¡± he said not batting an eye. ¡°Master with the possibility of our death, why would you risk such a thing, I understand if it is me, but your grandson went through the same thing.¡± I said, I was somewhat angry at master for almost killing my friend. ¡°Child, you are not to address me with that tone; I would never test you if I was not sure of your survival, you are of utmost importance to me. We have in our employment an ¡°A¡± level light style magus, the Friar of the healing hall. Although light style magic is extremely destructive able to disassemble particles at the highest level, but the Friar not only trained in its destructive path, but also in its restorative part as well. He has reached such lengths in his healing techniques that he is able to even regrow a severed arm if he pleases.¡± I was stunned, light style magic was the basis of restorative magic! From the image god had given me I had assumed that light style magic was destructive beyond measure. I had seen the phoenix use it destroy the ground it walked on just from its collateral damage. I saw that the power the phoenix would use, unlike the power of Jormungandr which would consume the life out of the world itself, the phoenixes power would meld with nature not disturb it, the magic would not pass through obstacles it would destroy its existence completely, to maintain balance to erase its enemies. ¡°Anyway getting back to your training child, I have given you this ring a starting now every 5 months I will increase the gravity that''s on you,¡± he said. ¡°gravit¨¢cie akt¨ªvny¡± he muttered the same chant Uther used. I felt the gravity increase on me, it was almost 3 times my gravity right now, but there was no such drastic increase which sever the various membranes in my brain. ¡°Child you will do each and every activity you do from now till the end of your 3 year training wearing this ring, you will train, and you will redo the hells cliff again until I see that you have the body of a peak stage ¡°C¡± level warrior. I will only take it off for 1 week when the two of you go to the forest in the west to acquire your magical beast companion,¡± he said. ¡°Gala the 5 prime fighting techniques are not something of a complete book of how to fight with that particular weapon, each style only consists of 7 stances, and you would have to pair it with the royal technique of the particular weapon passed down from the royalty of each race¡¯s first blessed king to learn it. For example the human Sword God style that young Arthur trains in is not a manual on how to fight with a sword, but is to be learnt in conjunction with the royal fighting techniques in order to learn how to properly use the power of each of the stances. Each of the stances are an ultimate attack of the sort if your normal royal sword fighting was a common attack, the 7 stances would each be an ultimate. Most noble families have 2 or 3 ultimate attacks at most, maybe 5 if they are of a high noble house but what makes the 5 primes it special is that the each of the 5 prime fighting techniques¡¯ stances in itself are equivalent to the combined power of the 5 ultimates of a high noble house. The 5 prime fighting techniques use not only brute force but also use, insights into the laws of the weapon to further become destructive in force.¡± ¡°The blessed kings of the first generation were extremely cautious to not let their descendants learn their legendary 7 stances if they were deemed incompetent. I myself was deemed unworthy to learn the human Sword God style as my father deemed me unworthy..¡± I was surprised by the severe restrictions placed on the information of fighting techniques in this world. It seemed that if not having a noble house it is incredibly hard to have any sort of higher-level training methods, no wonder no one from the slums could ever ascend to the realm of an ¡°A¡± ranked warrior. I was also surprised that Luthor had been ¡°unworthy¡± by his father¡¯s standards. ¡°Gala the Spear god style contains 7 stances like all the other 5 prime fighting techniques, I will only have time to demonstrate to you this stance as I believe even with your talent you will only master it in 3 years, the Spear God style does not allow for skipping stances to get to the most powerful 7th stance. I will give you the book I was given to practice this style once you manage to perfect this stance. I will also teach you the royal Spear Fighting style of the magical beast royalty, which will take up most of your training time.¡± I was puzzled how had a human like Luthor managed to get a hold of such material when he clearly is not a magical beast. ¡°Master, how did you manage to acquire such a rare book when you are clearly a human¡¡± ¡°Hmmm¡Gala trust me it was not easy, I was ummmm¡¡±in favour¡± with the princess of the magical beast, and she had given me the two books to me as ummm¡ as a ¡°gift¡±¡± Master had never looked so flustered to me he was always stoic and never showed emotions, but he seemed deeply embarrassed at the story. I knew what he had meant by ¡°in favour¡± and just laughed inwardly at my masters deceitfulness. ¡°Okay let us start learning the royal spear fighting style, observe carefully,¡± master than proceeded to do various fluid and almost, acrobatic movements using the spear in an offensive and defensive manner, switching between left and right hand continuously; he would do thrusts kicks, and flips to wield the spear gracefully and beautifully, he would change his centre of gravity to match his movements, and would make a beautiful whistling sound where the air would distort itself. I was surprised to find that many of the techniques were some that I was adept at which I learned from my old world, a Spanish martial art style called ¡°Juego del palo¡± which was something of a mandatory requirement when joining the army. It was a form of stick fighting, where we would use a heavy pole to battle each other relying on fluid acrobatic movements. My instructor would often praise that if it wasn''t for the war I would have been at the level of a national champion. ¡° to get accustomed to the spear first you are to swing the spear o a downwards slash, straight down for a 1000 times on each hand prior to the lesson everday.¡± I was perplexed by his astonishing deman. ¡°Master that is truly quite hard, would I not be able to practice the Spear God style due to exhaustion,¡± I pleaded. ¡°Yes Gala you would not be able to, but id so then so be it if you cannot handle such a thing than you are not ready for learning or even practice the royal fighting style, let alone the spear god style. But I will still show you the 1st stance when you are adept, and feel as though you are ready you yourself, practice it,¡± ¡°Anyway, Lets start practicing the spear god style, I will now demonstrate to you the first stance, I will only do it once so observe carefully¡¡± I opened my mind, I had long ago discovered that I could memorize any and all information I saw or read, so I was sure I could emulate his movements. He slowly pushed his left leg back, holding his azure blue spear, that vaguely resembled the spear the chinese used during my time. He then slashed forward at immense speed while in mid motion he let his left hand which was holding the spear at the lower end go, and while using only his right hand holding the spear backwards did a backward thrust which seemed to cause a force of pressurized air to go backwards. I noticed that throughout the technique his mana was not used at all he had created enough thrust to make a pressurized air cannon type attack backwards merely with his movements. ¡°That is the first stance of the Spear God style child, it is called, Stalwart Spear. This technique can not only deal with the opponent in front of you but can also behind you, it would enable you to enter any fight, with confidence of not getting ambushed. If you are sure that there was no threat from the back then you would do the same except do a complete backwards slash, and create the same air pressure pocket, but directly in the face of your opponent.¡± He continued. ¡°These are all the skills I will bestow to you, I will not teach you again but I will spar with you whenever you feel as though you are ready and give you feedback on your progress¡¡± I decided to train myself hard, I decided that I would take a break from my meditative trance and slowly train the 1000 swings at night on each hand when I feel fully rejuvenated. I knew that even if I break my concentration 4 hours in the meditation, I would feel fully refreshed, and be able to practice again for another 2 hours before having to sleep again. After having seen the techniques and stances Mater ordered me to leave and said that my training for today was over. I then quickly headed to the Friar¡¯s Healing Halls hoping that he would be there. Chapter 9- Heal Hey guys Author here, Thanks EVRYONE for the comments, you have given me a reason to continue posting on this website, i love you all..... ahaha Anyway if you guy still havent guess it here''s a little something to get your juices flowing its heading in the direction of the knights of the round table.... I am re thinking the story and yes i also love the epic bromance idea. I have also been bouncing around an idea for another re fanfic, and hopefully be able to produce the prologue by the end of this week. I will probably still keep my promise of 2-3 chapters a week of "Heroes of Jorg", and probably 1 chapter a week for "?????". But depending on the reception i get for the other one i might switch those two around. Anyway thanks for reading guys heres a new chapter. ............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. Galahad POV I walked into the healing hall. Every time I walked in the enormity of the healing hall would always astound me. The healing hall is just a giant, room almost 100 meters in length and 50 meters wide. It has two rows of beds running down on each side of it, and in the middle there is a fountain with the figure of the goddess Freya, with her white flowing robes and a book in her hand. Unlike all the other statues of gods in the Human Country of Orlanth, which were primarily of Ymir. This particular one was different, I was staring at the intricately carved statue. ¡°Beautiful isn¡¯t she,¡± I was startled I quickly turned around to see readying my fighting stance. ¡°Its just me child,¡± the Friar said, I was sure I heard his voice as if he were next to me but he was almost 10 meters away. ¡°The only statue of her in the entirety of this country,¡± he continued, staring at the statue and slowly walking towards me. ¡°She was said to have come down from the heavens when the gods were battling Jormungandr the colossal serpent. She was said to be the only one who spread all her healing magic to save the last of each of our races; that were almost exterminated by the serpents attack.¡± He said still staring at her, he seemed to revere her. ¡°I have come to learn about the profundities of healing magic Friar, please accept my request,¡± I said giving him a small bow. ¡°Alright child I shall teach you, but don''t be disheartened if you are unable to meet the requirements to learn the art, I myself am one of the only few people in the entirety of the continent able to use healing magic. You need to have a affinity of at least 5% in light magic to be able to practice healing of the highest order for humans. Only magical beasts, and demons have affinity of going over 10% almost reaching 20%, beyond that is only available to the gods of this world.¡± He explained ¡°Light, and darkness are elements that are rarely found in humans. Light element is mostly reserved for the elves who have an almost 12% affinity with it, while darkness is reserved for the demons who have the same for darkness.¡± He continued. ¡°Anyway child lets see if you have affinity with light magic, sit yourself in a meditative position, and try to observe the colours of the elements around you, I have already seen that you have high magical affinity, and have the compassionate and driven heart that most light magus¡¯ have, but I cannot yet confirm.¡± He said looking almost dejected at the possibility of me not being able to do light magic. I sat myself down, and instantly entered the Worlds Weight stage of the World Pulse meditation, I sensed the slow thrum, hymn of the carefully orchestrated pulses of the world, instantly enveloping myself hearing nothing but the rhythmic drone of the world I was in the trans I always put myself in every night. I saw as usual the elements circling around me instead of feeling the little small dots of elemental energy that the most gifted of humans would see; I was blanketed by a innumerable number of these dots which for the inner layer were comprised completely of the light elemental affinity, represented by the white dots, and then the next layer were made of the fire elemental affinity, which were exemplified by bright red dots, then I was surrounded by a blanket of completely faint green layer which personified the wind magic I had control over. Between these were various dots of brown dot that represented my earth magic affinity. I slowly opened my eyes and saw that the Friar was looking at me expectantly. ¡°So child what¡¯s the verdict, did you see anything?¡± he questioned. ¡°Yes Friar, I saw that there was an abundance in the number of white lights surrounding me, I feel as though I could do this,¡± I said. I knew that I would be successful, as I remember the information god had given me regarding the legendary phoenix. From my eidetic memory I could remember that I now had an affinity of 100% with light magic. This was more than the gods themselves who I remember had only 75% at the maximum. ¡°Ok child, I shall teach everything you need to know tonight as I believe that according to the rules teaching magic to children under the age of 13 is severely forbidden as it would cause an implosion from the sheer force of the mana¡¯s disturbance. But I believe you have some innate talent in your resiliency towards injuries, I myself have never seen such regenerative capabilities on a young boy like you. Your regeneration is almost on par if not greater than myself who is a ¡°A¡± rank magician.¡± He exclaimed. I was sure that learning magic would never cause my body to destroy itself, but to think that this man was willing to take the risk of incurring the wrath of Lord Luthor, just to pass on his learning was somewhat scary to me. ¡°Master last time you were explaining that, when healing someone you take the injuries of the person on to yourself¡¡± I said. ¡°Oh yes let me teach you everything you need to know.¡± He then went on to explain to me that Healing magic , requires a person to take a portion of the persons mana onto yourself and mana strangely when siphoned from a person would try to emulate the same injuries on to the siphoner himself thinking that it is still in its hosts body. In the moment that the healer takes some mana, the victim¡¯s body would need the mana to compensate, and would slowly take it from nature ;but in that small interval we would take our own mana and will the regenerative powers of the person to accelerate and fix the person itself. If you do not take some of his mana the body would reject the mana we inject and expel it from the person causing him to implode. ¡°Healing magic¡¯s power lies in willing the persons regenerative properties fast enough so that you would minimize the amount of grievous injuries you bring onto yourself.¡± The Friar said ending the explanation. I was shocked at the crude method of healing someone it almost seemed precarious to me. ¡°Friar , why cant we just completely assume the nature of the person and send a stream of light magic into the person and sense the injury and fix it in its specific points, instead of weakening the victim first by siphoning his magic. It would also take away the need to put ourselves at harms way, by taking on the injuries ourselves¡± I questioned. If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. ¡°Child, that would be ideal but alas child, such a thing is impossible. One would need an extremely high affinity with light magic to succeed in such a thing. Light magic unlike dark magic does not consume; it melds itself into nature, and instead of consuming the life out of something it joins with them and if the user feels that there is an imbalance in nature because of it, it would destroy its existence completely. But Light magic can also do something that is only exclusively available for light style magi. When a light style magus of the ¡°S¡± rank feels that something is amiss in himself and needs to be fixed he can Heal it in the method you were explaining to me before. But healing someone else in the same manner is impossible unless you have a terrifyingly high affinity, being able to meld into the nature of the person you are trying to heal completely, akin to Holy Saint the ¡°SSS¡± rank light style magus¡¯, who has an affinity of 20% with the light element. He is able to completely assume the nature of the person and at will cure anything he wants, and fix anything he wants in a person at will. But an existence like that is only borne once in a millennia, he is still alive to this day, and is the leader of the elves.¡± The Fiar clarified. He then proceeded to give me a book titled, ¡°Healing Magic¡±, to self study and understand myself, if needed come for his advice. I took the book but knew that I would not need it as with my affinity I should be able to practice in melding my nature with others completely. Melding is similar to converting the DNA of your mana akin to the person you wish to heal, and then manipulating their physical constructs in whichever manner you want to heal them. While pondering this I soon came to realize how terrifyingly powerful this technique is. In the wrong hands they would have the power to manipulate a person in whichever manner they wish. I took the book returned to my room to read it. To my dismay it was just as I suspected with the rudimentary knowledge of the human body on this planet, their healing magic was completely limited to forcing their patients¡¯ regenerative abilities to work at a accelerated pace. With my knowledge of the human body from my training as a doctor from my previous life, I should be able to heal people much more efficiently compared to the rudimentary methods used in this book. The book forced the healer to continuously push his mana into their patient. This method was incredibly exhausting to the user as it drained the user of their mana, as well as forces them to take on the ailments of their patients. I myself knew that I should be able to heal someone without the consequences of being gravely injured myself. For the next few days I would go through my training of climbing the Hell¡¯s Cliff, doing my 2000 swings with Longinus, and prior to going to sleep I would go to my room summon Longinus and make a deep cut across my wrists almost completely slicing my hand off and try to heal it. I had make an extremely grievous injury as my regenerative capabilities were far too strong and would immediately fix a shallow cut. After a month of practice I was finally able to completely heal my arm in a matter of seconds, before my regen activated. I was quite proud of myself and now wanted to put my plan into motion. The palace of the Pendragon¡¯s were run by more than 500 hundred workers who continuously worked to keep the palace as almost a smooth engine. I had slowly befriended the palace workers and have become somewhat of a familiar face around the palace. I would often go to the palace barracks where the horsekeepers were and would help them take care of their horses. I would often notice that many of the horses have been battle hardened but when the knights would come back from their newest bandit hunting or dungeon raiding, they would be in an extremely bad shape. While the knights were treated in the healing halls, the horses were left to their own regenerative capabilities and were forced to fend for themselves. Due to the malnourishment these horses faced many would die at an extremely young age. I arrived at the stable to find that the knights had just returned and the horses were now in the stable again. The horsekeeper as usual let me in to the barn and let me look after the horses. I slowly placed my hand on a particularly battered red mare, he had a shiny red fur and his exterior body was covered in scars, cuts and bruises. He had a wild look about him, as if wanting to be released from his cage. When I slowly put my hand on him, I let myself meld and blend in with the nature of the horse¡¯s mana and I slowly searched every nook and cranny of his body looking for his various injuries, when I saw an injury my mind immediately went into overdrive: Achilles Tendonitis Tear: Acute pain in the lower extremities of the tendon connecting the horse¡¯s calf muscles to its hoof. The tendon had severely been inflamed due to the extended period of battles without any sustenance. The proper treatment would be to reduce the amount of inflammation, and then let it eat some muscle relaxers before tying the ruptured tendon together, by surgery or by applying an anesthetic. I slipped a small thin string of light based mana, into the horse¡¯s inflamed region and even before fixing it, I cut off the sensory nerves connecting it to the brain; no need for an anesthetic. I then slowly fixed the calf, reducing the inflammation and tied together the ruptured tendon. I then slowly coated all the cuts and bruises of the horse with the light based mana and invoked the healing spell the Friar had taught me from the book, ¡°zrychlil regenerova¡± I whispered I moved away from the horse after fixing its sensory nerve, to see if my first try of healing something was successful. I opened my eyes to find that horse was almost at perfect health now. The horse looked at me bewildered realizing that I had been the reason he had become perfectly healthy again and in a fit of joy pounced on me and gave me a big wet lick. I laughed and slowly pushed him away, if not for my body¡¯s resiliency and strength I might have been crushed I thought. I then went on to heal all the other almost 200 horses in the barracks, and developed an almost perfect system. I would, meld and then send my mana into its internally injured region, and then finally heal the extremities in the way the healing book taught me without the need for taking on the injuries myself. I had soon made a name for myself in the horsekeeper and the workers community and they started calling me the horse whisperer. After two months of rigorous practicing with the horses, I went to my final goal of healing people , and made my way to an almost nostalgic place situated right near the entry of the Wall, a place I knew all too well. The Washing Stations, my mom¡¯s former workplace. I disguised myself, wearing a dark black cloak over my training clothes which consisted of just a loose white cotton white shirt paired with dark black pants; I was afraid of getting noticed due to my signature golden braid which had still been stuck at being just above my waist. I refused to cut it off as it was a reminder of my mother, who loved braiding my hair. I entered the Washing Station, and with a scan could see that of the 1000¡¯s of people of working, more than 800 of them were injured in someway. I had a looooot of work to do... Chapter 10- Is he really a child? Heya guyss, Author here, been a while since i posted i am really sorry for that.I have been brainstorming my second fic which is going to be quite the doozy. Anyway i was hoping to get your opinion on the release frequency. I was thinking of doing 2 chapters for each every week as a mininmum and more depending on how much time i have. I can completely concentrate and do 4 per week for this one but i will leave the choice up to you guys, before ou make a decision try reading my second fic. I am still looking for PR, please msg me if you are interested. Check out my fictions: http://www.royalroadl.com/fiction/1658 - Avalon http://www.royalroadl.com/fiction/1556 - Heroes of Jorg ............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................ Washing station worker POV: I had gotten used to the pain by now, a pain that originated from the lowest crevice of my back, I would sit down and a sharp pain would spread throughout my body and would run up and down my spine, as I continually washed the clothes of those godforsaken nobles, my back slowly worsened and in the thin crevices and folds of my skin, small blisters started to appear and everyday I was in agony. My hands were calloused, and the black soap that we used, would seep into the crevices in between my fingernails, giving me a severe infection. None of the nobles ever came to give us a helping hand, we were far too below them for that, my children faces were the only thing that kept me going. I was in agony, everyday, but I couldn''t stop, I couldn''t do anything else, I had to keep my family fed. Then that mysterious boy came¡ He came didn''t say word and kept going from person to person and would make faint white light shine on their backs. The people at the beginning were screaming thinking they were being hexed but soon realized, that their various ailments all disappeared the boy didn''t say anything and none complained. When he came to me, I willingly let him do his magic on me. I suddenly felt all my injuries being healed by specific precise movements, and then all the, scratches and all the scars that had accumulated on me overtime were completely healed. I looked at him, a small tear trickling down my cheek. ¡°I hope you feel better,¡± he whisphered His voice almost ethereal brimming with power, melodious and compassionate. The boy left swiftly as he came, his full cloak made it hard to see any of his features. He opened the door and the wind blew into his face, almost making the cloak come off, but I saw in that small split second, his long golden braid¡ Castle Worker 1 POV: Galahad, the boy was beyond mysterious. He came, in tow with the most powerful being of this country, an almost insurmountable being to us, and he came with his head peeking through the deaths door. I was curious and with a few of the other maids, went to look at the boy when he was sleeping, the night he got here. His body has somewhat completely pale but I could see that there was muscle in small amounts. He had an angelic face, and had a head full of striking golden hair. I was so compelled I almost touched him. Ever since then, we were told to treat the boy with respect. He was extremely polite to us. He respected any and all of his elders never to look down on people. We were humbled by his behavior. He would often come to the various workers stations, and would make conversation with us. He would often make us food himself saying we deserved to be treated well. He would cook up various broths and soups that when we drank would instantly invigorate us, and heal all our small injuries. It was uncanny. When we asked how he would do it, he would look at us give us a mischievous smile and says; ¡°it''s a secret¡±. We had all grown to love and adore the boy. We would often see him in tow with the prince they would chat and continuously train together until dinner, and even after all the training they would take time to play with the little princess Lily. The prince was somewhat nonchalant about us and wouldn''t treat us too well or to badly but, Galahad made sure we were happy, continuously asking us if our family is okay, and if needed any help. I had told him once about my husband who worked in the city guard, who had been injured, during one of the magical beast attacks. We weren¡¯t able to afford the medicine and the captain was threatening to fire him if he could not fix it. I asked young Gala once and he immediately went into the kitchen and cooked up a small roll of bread. He told me to give it to my husband and to make him eat all of it. I was somewhat skeptical about it. How could an ordinary roll of bread heal my husband. I took the bread and gave it to my husband, he suddenly, said his shoulder was completely fine. He yelled and jumped, saying he could keep his work. He was beyond ecstatic. The young boy would often cook up something whenever someone asked for help regarding their pain. He would never say no. I was scared that some of the others would take advantage of him but, none of them did. We all truly loved the boy. We soon started calling him, ¡°the angelic horse whispering, magic cook¡±. He would often laugh at that. Uther Pendragon POV: I knew the boy was special when I saw him for the first time. He never questioned anybody, never ordered anybody. He was always immersed in training, and the free time he would have is for dinner with me and my family, playing with Lily, and often going down to the workers quarters and converse and entertain them. I understood that he had soft spot for anyone that was not a noble, but I thought he would become like every other noble son, who after given any slight addition to their social status; abandons all their roots all the struggles their family went through. I was pleasantly surprised to find that he cared not for any sort of veneration. I soon came to know about his various unprecedented activities in the castle. How he was called the horse whisperer, in the ways he fixed the various ailments of the horses, and how he was called the magic cook, as his cooking he made for the workers cured them of any of their former sickness. I secretly ordered them to get one of his magic bread rolls, and was surprised to find faint amounts of mana leaking from it. I ate the bread roll and felt the mana taking the nature of my own and try to find the various ailment in my body. Even things I hardly thought about, the outward scarring caused by battling a iron colossus bull, and other various scars were quickly disappearing. I was surprised beyond anything. The boy was using healing magic, and not only that, he was using the healing magic in such a way that it innately would meld with the nature of my mana. He was doing something similar to the Holy Saint of the elf kingdom, and was using it to save slum dwellers and commoners. I laughed; this was truly something I had not expected. My father chose someone beyond anything I have ever seen before and was training him to become a monster. This child would become the greatest, maybe even beyond my own son. I thought to myself. I was somewhat jealous, what if he turns on my son demanding the throne for himself. I wanted to turn him into someone dedicated to the house of Pendragon, but I knew father would not forgive me for that. This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it. I could only watch in awe as I saw this boy becoming stronger and stronger. One thing that put my heart at ease was the compassion this boy had for others. He was a mere child of 10 and still showed such maturity, such impeccable manners, that it astounded me. Coupled with his innate drive to help people I was sure he would not turn on my son. Galahad respects himself, and extends that respect to those around him, regardless of whether they can see it, others treat them with it, or whether they deserve it in the first place. Galahad is cordial to a fault and by acting so brings others up to his level. He does not condescend, and never stoops to physical or verbal violence until there is absolutely no other option left. He treats others better than he expects to be treated, and doesn''t become offended when his gestures are turned down or not appreciated. By the same turn, his self-respect ensures he won''t continue to subject himself to anyone who demonstrates that they aren''t willing to return the fundamental respect he gives them. I truly admired the boy¡ Arthur¡¯s POV: I dodged, as a barrage of attacks were coming at me from this small 10 year old boy, he was relentless butwould never land the full extent of the blow on me. I on the other hand did not have this luxury, I was getting my royal ass handed to me by my best friend, and I tell you it wasn''t the best feeling. We exchanged blows continuously, and he would always come out on top, dodging most of my strikes at a hairs breadth, we were being taught the highest of martial arts, and were at the stage where all we could do to improve was spar, and use techniques we hadn¡¯t seen before in a combat like situation. While our blows landed there would be some pressurised air coming out of the tips of our arms, and white mist would explode caused by the intense heat of our bodies, boiling the sweat away. I raised my hand and did a sweeping kick towards Galahad, he ducked out of the way and crouched and sweeped my legs. I jumped up and when I was coming down he came running towards me and tackled me down while I was in mid air. I fell down and he got back up, offering me a hand. I smiled, grabbed hi hand and pulled myself up. Me and him were standing tow to tow he had long golden hair while I like to keep silver hair medium length, not too short not too long. We both stared at my father, who had come to witness our sparring session. We had changed the hell¡¯s cliff sessions to continuous lifting of weights and sparring with hand to hand combat. I was kind of embarrassed to say Galahad was better than me at hand-to-hand combat. He had a swift fluidic motion and was able to divert the power of my strike to the outside. He would never hurt me, always stopping his strikes at the last minute. I was somewhat annoyed at that but I guess that''s like him. ¡°Well Galahad, I am glad to see you have been coming along well, you were no match for my son 6 months ago and now look at you, you can beat him,¡± father said, not a hint of jealousy was on his face. ¡°I try my best lord,¡± Galahad muttered. ¡°Well Arthur, you have a formidable opponent now don''t you,¡± father looked at me. ¡°I will beat you one day Gala, just watch me,¡± I muttered, with a playful smile on my face. I would often before going to sleep replay my actions over and over again trying to see if there was any way I could have beaten him, trying to mentally improve myself. ¡°Haha, you can definitely try my friend,¡± he said with a smirk on his face. We were at the increased weight of 5 times our normal gravity. I would often get tempted to take it off but I would never as I was afraid father had some sort of magic, which would tell him I had taken it off. Our training had gotten harder to say the least, both Gala and I were naturally strong and now were able to each lift weights of almost 50 kg, this was immense considering we were just 10 year old children, and with our added gravity we were basically lifting 250 kg. I was just as strong as Gala but boy was he good at endurance, I swear to god he could go on lifting weights all day. ¡°I think its about time you started sparring with your weapons, I can see that your bodies are now at the level where only weight training would help. And I want you to improve your techniques,¡± Father said. ¡°Father Gala only started learning the Magical Beasts, royal Spear style he could possibly not beat me,¡± I said. I didn''t want to get my friend hurt. ¡°Child, have you not seen how Gala beat you today, I believe you are no where near the age where you can judge a man¡¯s power by just looking at him,¡± father aid with a tern voice. ¡°Alright take your weapons let me see,¡± father said and went back standing out of range. I quickly summoned my sword, ¡°Durendal¡± I called. My sword, was similar to a Claymore, but was one handed. It was an awe inspiring Artifact that I got from my father when he started teaching me the Sword God style. It was completely silver sword with a blue line running down the middle with runes written on either side. The hilt was black with a lion roaring on the pommel. ¡°Longinus,¡± Gala summoned. His spear or, trident to be more precise was just over 50 cm taller than him and was a sight to behold completely silver with not one blemish as if the dust and dirt itself was afraid to get it dirty. I took the first stance of the royal sword style, I lunged at him he deflected it always keeping me away at the length of the spear whenever I tried to get close he would deflect my blows and acrobatically jump away. I slowly figured out his movements and father was right he was almost as proficient at the royal spear style as I was with the sword style. Once I had gone on the defensive, regaining my strength after the successive attacks, Gala went on the offensive. HE was relentless using a barrage of quick precise and extremely strong movements. We were forbidden to even try to learn magic, as our bodies apparently would inwardly burst, not that I could use magic anyway. He was unyielding; continuing the attacks looking for was to knock down my defence we were going to and fro for almost 3 hours until my father finally stopped the sparring. I looked at Gala he wasn''t huffing and puffing like me but he was still visibly sweating. I didn''t think that I would be able to meet such a strong companion so early on in this life. This boy and I are going to be great friends. Most of the time I would spend with Gala and we had developed an impeccable trust for each other. I always trusted him to have my back and he did the same. We would play with Lily together and eat dinner after which I would go into my room and start my mediating and contemplated on ways to defeat Galahad, before starting my meditation. Our lives soon became an endless circle of training and eating. I was slowly becoming taller, handsomer and so was Galahad; he had an angelic face, while I had the devilish handsome guy routine down. 2 years later¡ Chapter 11- The Meeting Heyya Guyssss, Author here, so sorry for anyone who are really looking forward to the academy arc, i still havent finished the training arc so i think the academy arc will start in about 2 chapters or so. I am quite sorry if the pacing of the story is not to your liking but, tbh i really hate fictions which give their characters powers that are way too op way too quickly. So i will make this fiction loooonnnng and pleasant. I want to ask you guys on better way to get more people to read my fics. Right now i am hoping to have at least 50 followers for both my fictions and if you have any ideas please tell me. I think i figured out that i stuck at writing synopsis so if anyone wants to help that would be awesome.... Dont forget to rate and stuff (i dont think i say this enough lol) and still looking for a PR Check out my fictions: http://www.royalroadl.com/fiction/1658 - Avalon http://www.royalroadl.com/fiction/1556 - Heroes of Jorg ............................................................................................................................................ Galahad¡¯s POV: I was now 12 years old and about 5 foot 4 inches with my braid as always right beneath the base of my spine. I was vigorously training, and was seething with rage and anger. I have only felt this way once before, same time last year. I didn''t have my white cotton shirt on, instead I was bare back, training in the compound away from the castle. I swung Longinus to a straight slash downwards, and then did the compressed air attack back. I was practicing the first stance of the Spear God style, Stalwart Spear. My body was profusely sweating and the sweat quickly turned to steam from the intense heat my body was releasing. I was only 12 years old, but had a layer of muscle on my body. The muscle was not big bulging like Uther, but was compacted and tight, filled with explosive power. I was doing sweeps and kicks at an invisible opponent. I figured out that my meditation allowed my brain to evolve in such a way that it could project the image of an opponent of my choosing, and help train faster. I always thought of Luthor when doing my self-practice, and he would beat me every time. I no longer have the gravity ring, me and Arty graduated to a state where 20 times our gravity will not affect us. Only an ¡°A¡± ranked earth mage could affect us with gravity anymore. I was furious, as today the High Magus has come to visit the Pendragons with a legion of other Nobles to celebrate Arty¡¯s birthday. It was my birthday too but we celebrated it this morning with a cake, I was extremely happy with a small celebration, as even having a delicacy like cake was somewhat of a banquet to me. Luthor has already left giving me the book with the spear god style, which I have completely memorized and burned straight away. He has left to do some training trying to achieve the ¡®SSS¡¯ rank. My training with him had finished, as I am quite proficient at the royal spear fighting, and was steadily progressing in the first stance. I could now beat Arty, who had also reached similar proficiency with the sword. I could only beat him because of my unnatural stamina due to my regeneration. It burned my insides to think that the High Magus bastard was so close but I could not even touch him. The first time he came on Arty¡¯s 11th birthday, I was willing to put my life on the line to at least try to injure him, I was at the ¡®D¡¯ level as a warrior the same as Arty, but no where close to touching a ¡®A¡¯ rank like him. Luthor had to strike me unconscious to get me to stop. But I now have more control, and to release my anger I was training, training a lot trying to block out the lights and the blaring music that was coming from the majestic hall, in the Lionsden castle. I was releasing my anger, through training and released a baleful aura around me. As I was training I heard a small little scream that was almost completely blocked by the music but I could with my trained ears hear a small stifled yelp. I returned Longinus; quickly and swiftly jumped over the hedge, to see a small girl with her foot stuck, in between two giant rocks I left during my previous training session; in a twisted way, presumably broken or sprained, her leg was throbbing. Her face was covered with mud and her red dress was caked with it as well. She was crying and screaming but no one seemed to hear her. The girl had beautiful flowing luscious brown hair, similar to that of my sisters paired with her unnaturally bright red eyes. She was absolutely stunning I thought, not even bothered by her muddy face. I walked closer to her, slowly pacing so to not alarm her. She noticed me, but then had a puzzled look on her face, before she blushed beet red. I noticed that I was not wearing a shirt, but I didn''t have one on me so I pretended to not notice and crouched next to her. I looked at her face; from the gaps in the mud I could see her skin was clear and milky, looked so supple. I quickly stopped my hand from reaching out to brush the mud off. ¡°Do you need a hand,¡± I said using the Leo dialect, that Queen wait Mother Lorelai was teaching me. ¡°Yes, I am Reina Valdergrath, heir to the Valdergrath house. Please help me and I am sure my father would handsomely reward you,¡± she said with a meek voice afraid I would do something to her, or refuse to help her. I couldn''t help myself from laughing this little girl in her dirty, and muddy state was asking me to help her and offered a reward in return, the whole sight was comedic. Reina¡¯s POV: I hate that boy! He is such an imbecilic idiot thinking he could do that to me. I was truly angered by Arthur¡¯s actions. It was his birthday and we had come to celebrate. I came hoping to further my relationship with him, in hopes that our future marriage will be smooth. I was his fianc¨¦ after all. Our betrothal was not public information, as uncle Uther was afraid that the other nobles would perceive it as showing favor to one house. I wore my best dress, a glittering red dress, with ribbons and even a small red crown. I was beautiful my mother said. We walked in through the castle gates, to see an awe inspiring beautiful hall, lit with chandeliers and filled with people from Noble houses. There were musicians, and dancers. It was a truly similar to a celebration. Arthur was right in the middle of a big group of children, mostly girls and was quite enjoying their company that he failed to see me even come in. I walked to the group, and tried to get Arthur¡¯s attention. But he only gave me small nod before going on to flirting with the other girls. They all revered Arthur, how could they not, he was a prince, who was charismatic, witty, and most of all extremely handsome. His medium length silver hair paired with his bright blue eyes would have any girl feel weak in the knees. ¡°Happy birthday Arthur, I trust you are having a nice time,¡± I said. ¡°Thank you lady Reina, hope you have wonderful time here.¡± He replied. He then went back to chatting with the girls giving them flirtatious winks and grins. None of the boys seemed to mind and deemed Arthur to be their leader, laughing at his jokes like bunch of sheep following whatever their leader does. Arthur was making every girl blush, and was paying no attention to me whatsoever. Arthur readily avoided talking to the boys, he seemed less than interested and actually showed quite a lot of disdain towards the Heir of house of Aerie. Why did I wear my favorite dress for this idiotic jerk I thought trying continuously to start conversation with him. I was visibly infuriated my father told me that that''s just how boys are and that I should take it easy. I grew up my whole life knowing that I would become the wife of the king and that I should compose myself as a queen should have. I had to take rigorous learning¡¯s, in politics, law and even learn various dialects. I was even told that I had to be a strong queen so my father has started teaching me the Valdergrath rapier techniques. I was extremely proficient with the Rapier making fighting and dodging beautifully. My father said I was a genius born only every 100 years, and that I would become a great beautiful warrior queen. I was even more annoyed. Why cant he take my side, I dressed up for that idiot. I sneaked out through the back gate into the gardens, trying to cool myself off. I was only 12 years old why was I getting so worked up about it, I thought to myself. I am not like those idiotic noble daughters fawning over the prince¡¯s every word. I slowly walked through the compound, through the beautiful gardens, and the winding paths. The Pendragons were said to have one of the most beautiful gardens in the entire kingdom. I was visibly enthralled by the beautiful vista¡¯s. There were luscious green foliage, the beautiful clear waters that gave of a slight misty vibe. Slowly I walked mesmerized, and small Glowflies raised up, it was picturesque the Glowflies reflection in the clear waters coupled with the scenic vistas. I hoped I had come with the idiot Arthur it would have been truly romantic. I was so mesmerized I didn''t notice that there were 2 giant rocks blocking my path. And put my leg right in between them, I took another step and my leg twisted in an exceedingly ugly manner, and I felt a sharp pain going from my ankle. I saw that the bone had broken, and screamed unable to bare the pain. I was stuck and in a lot of pain. I fell down unable to endure and my dress became exceedingly dirty, the dirt had gotten into my dress. I was scared now the picturesque view before no longer captivated me, tears were streaming down my face. I tried to wipe of the tears and the dirt further stained my face. I was scared, dirty and in a lot of pain. This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it. And then I saw him¡ He had a long golden braid, which swayed side to side as he walked and he was not wearing a shirt. He had an extremely handsome caring face, and his bare body I could from the faint glow from the Glowflies see that it was quite slender, but had a layer of muscle that was covered in sweat. But the most remarkable thing about him were his beautiful silver eyes, they were warm caring but at the same time felt like they could pierce through my very soul. Compared to my own sorry state, I was quite embarrassed and blushed beet red. He crouched down next to me and asked. ¡°Do you need a hand,¡± he surprisingly used the Leo dialect considering he wasn''t wearing anything of expensive value. I was scared he would leave me or even kidnap me, he didn''t look like an evil boy but I couldn''t be sure. I quickly composed myself maybe my name would have some effect on him. I needed his help. ¡°Yes, I am Reina Valdergrath, heir to the Valdergrath house. Please help me and I am sure my father would handsomely reward you,¡± I said trying to instill some fear into him. He chuckled trying to stifle a laugh. Before bursting out laughing. ¡°Hahahaha,¡± he bawled. ¡°Wha¡¡±I muttered. Arthur¡¯s POV: Today was my 12th birthday and we were having a banquet to celebrate all the noble houses were invited, and I was sure as hell excited to finally meet some of the other nobles I will ruling in the future. One after the other a horde of nobles came with their children in tow. I saw all the beautiful mothers and wives of the nobles and used it as reference to try to imagine what their children would be looking like in the future. I was delighted to know there are many of these girls were quite beautiful. I was gonna have quite the bit of fun in the future. I would also rule them, and I needed to cement my relationship with them now so in the future they won¡¯t cause trouble. The girls were surprisingly easy a few flirtatious looks and grins were more than enough to have them faun over me. I myself found it easy to bond with the boys as well, they never looked at me as friends and would always look at me as leader, I would crack a joke and they would laugh regardless of whether it was funny or not. It was actually quite amusing to be the popular one. I then saw Reina walk in with her family, the Valdergraths. She was beautiful to say the least. I was going to talk to her when followed by the Valdergraths, the house of Aerie arrived. These were the bastards who killed my friend¡¯s family. They walked in and went to greet my father. The twins of the Aerie house, Leonel and Lucrezia walked towards the group and conversed. They were quite the enigmatic duo. Leonel with his medium length black hair, his playful and piercing gaze, would stir quite a lot of the girls hearts. Lucrezia was what you would describe as the ideal ice cold beauty, who thought way too highly of herself, she would not give me any attention always scanning the room trying to find something interesting .I was quite angry with them, thinking of Gala and did not even give them a glance. The Aerie house was often regarded as one of the three main houses of the Human country of Orlanth. The Pendragons, The Valdergraths and The Aeries. I then kept talking and conversing with the girls, and the boys. I didn''t even notice that Reina had left, not that it bothered me but when I saw her comeback with her dress covered in mud, I guessed that she fell while taking a walk. ¡°Are you okay lady Reina,¡±I said going up to her. ¡°None of your concern Arthur,¡± she said and with her parents quickly left the banquet. What was her problem? Galahad POV: I couldn¡¯t stop from laughing; this girl in her sorry and pained state was ordering me. I quickly regained my composure and looked at her leg, trying to see the damages. I saw that the leg had swollen quite a bit and the blood flow was cutting off due to it being stuck in between the boulders. She probably isn¡¯t able to feel her leg anymore. The boulders were what I used to train now each weighing about 250kg. ¡°Looks like you got yourself hurt,¡± I said. ¡°Help me you idiot, how long do you expect me to stay in this sorry state,¡± she pouted. ¡°Alright let me see,¡± I used each of my hands, to slowly push the two boulders, at the same time using each of my hands for each boulder. Away from her and her leg slowly fell to the ground. She was awestruck at my power. It isn¡¯t everyday you see a boy of 12 pushing two boulders away of that weight. I slowly crouched down carefully observing her leg. ¡°What are you doing, quickly call someone over,¡± she said frantically. ¡°Ok don''t panic alright, I am going to touch your leg.¡± I said. ¡°Wait, why would you do that,¡± she said thinking I might hurt her. I slowly moved my hand and touched the swollen region in her ankle. To my surprise the injury was surprisingly drastic. Well she did stick her legs in between boulders and tried to pull it out. My mind went into to overdrive. A small line of light magic, seeped into her bones covering them observing anything wrong with them. I quickly analyzed the injury, referring to my prior knowledge: Talus Fracture: The talus bone is one of the most important bones that make up the ankle joint. The talus is a compact bone that sits between the calcaneus (heel bone) and the tibia and fibula (bones of the lower leg). Much of the talus is covered with cartilage, a smooth, slippery substance that provides cushion and allows these bones to move more freely against each other. Because the talus is a primary connection between the bones of the ankle, a fractured talus can severely limit the ability to walk and bear weight. Treatment: As it is only a small fracture in this case, properly aligning the Talus bone and accelerating the healing properties should work. I quickly cut of the sensory nerve and aligned the bone properly and accelerated the healing properties. ¡°zrychlil regenerova¡± I whispered Her leg instantly felt better and she was thoroughly surprised. I picked her up princess style and set her down on the bench next to the clear water lake. ¡°How dare you touch me you im..im..imbecile,¡± she muttered blushing so much she almost looked like a small tomato. That gave me the giggles a little. ¡°So young lady, what are you doing here, shouldn''t you be inside.¡± I asked. ¡°Yes, I should be but I don''t think I can walk yet,¡± she muttered. She probably still thinks she is injured. ¡°Why don''t you try walking,¡± I asked. She slowly got up visibly surprised; she then started jumping up and down pacing back and forth. What a strange girl I thought. ¡°How did you heal me,¡± she asked, full of confusion. Oh shit. I healed her, if she find out I can do magic, that will be troublesome to say the least. Holy moly I messed up big time. I quickly got up and ran away swiftly jumping back over the hedge and disappearing into my room in the compound. ¡°Heeeyyyy where are you going, At least tell me your name,¡± she called. I gave her no answer... Reina¡¯s POV: I quickly rushed back into the banquet, I had washed my face before at the clear waters so I was no longer in as much a sorry state that I was. Arthur came to me to try and help but I was still mad at him. I could see the other noble girls stifling a laugh, but I didn''t care. I asked my parents and together we left. I was still confused. I didn''t know of anyone in history who was able to do healing magic at the age of 12, and he had done it with no visible reaction to himself, unlike a Friar who takes on the injuries. For that matter magic in general was prohibited to anyone under the age of 13. I didn''t know what¡¯s what anymore. In the following days I asked my father if he had known any boy who had a long golden braid and he said no saying no one in the Pendragon family had golden hair. No one in the whole castle had golden hair. I didn''t know what to think. Who is that boy? Why can¡¯t I get him out of my head? Every time I close my eyes I would see his hauntingly beautiful silver eyes. I started to believe he was my guardian angel, his golden hair and his silver eyes, I could be right I thought. Who is he? Galahad¡¯s POV (the day after the banquet) I didn''t tell anyone about my meeting with the Valdergrath girl. I didn''t want to cause Lord Uther further complications. I was sure she would forget about me. But today I wasn''t that concerned of that girl. Arty and I turned 12 years old yesterday and turning 12 meant magical beasts.
