《Zadia The Crimson Hero?》 Chapter 1: Friend or Foe? ¡°Its¡¯ been four years!¡± A shout filled the endless space of white, standing there was a small young girl with bright crimson hair and fiery red eyes. ¡°Oh¡ you seem to be unhappy.¡± Facing her speaking with a calm tone, was a boy with radiant green hair and eyes, donning a fancy white robe. ¡°You!! You said¡ you would make me attractive!¡± She said while clenching her fists. Staring him down. ¡°Well, I did¡ don¡¯t worry your body is still growing.¡± The boy says in an uncaring tone, as he eyes her chest. He touches them. ¡°When I said¡ I wish to be attractive, I meant as a GUY!! Why am I a girl?!?¡± She shouts as she smacks away his hands. She sadly hangs her head and prompts down sitting. The boy places a hand on her right shoulder and says in a consoling tone. ¡°Don¡¯t worry in 12 years guys will be all over you. Trust me you¡¯re a girl with beautiful eyes and hair, Zadia¡ you should be happy! You can get more men as a girl then a guy.¡± The boy says with a serious face. Zadia looks up with an angry expression. ¡°When in the hell did I say that, I LIKED MEN!?! I used to be a GUY!¡± ¡°Wait¡ so you don¡¯t like guys?¡± The boy says casually. ¡°What gave you the idea, that I liked them!?¡± ¡°Well, when I looked through your memories. I noticed you were always surrounded by men. From middle school to high school and so on¡± he says while shrugging his shoulders ¡°You mean the guys that always jump me?¡± ¡°Yea¡ you guys always seem to have fun, when you beat on each other. What was it, you humans called it, sports right?¡± ¡°No¡ that¡¯s called a fight¡ and it was always one sided since they attacked me in a group.¡± The boy rubs his chin with his right hand and continues speaking. ¡°I don¡¯t get it¡ they gave you some nice nick names. I remember a few of them¡hmm it was Lu Limpy¡ Lt. Licker¡Oh!! And Pusscas. In your past life you were Lucas right?¡± the boy says with a smile. ¡°Those were insults.¡± Zadia says with an annoyed expression. ¡°What about all those times you gave them money?¡± ¡°You do realize when I ¡°gave¡± them money I was usually on the floor bleeding¡ in other words. They ROBBED ME!?!¡± The two were silent as a minute passes and the boy finally speaks up, while scratching his head. ¡°Well¡ this is awkward. I thought you would like this idea.¡± ¡°I find it hard to believe you didn¡¯t plan this¡¡± Zadia stares down the boy probing for an answer. ¡°Well¡ I only made you a girl, because I don¡¯t find men attractive and if I had made you a guy. I wouldn¡¯t be able to tell you you¡¯re attractive without being dishonest¡ So poof you¡¯re a girl problem solved.¡± The boy says with his brightest smile. ¡°Nice story¡ now can you tell me the truth?¡± Zadia says in a serious tone. ¡®Hmm¡ well¡ this is an odd thing to say but¡what I need is a hero and not just any hero a female one.¡± ¡°Wait¡ why, are you just a pervert?¡± ¡°Let¡¯s see¡ where should¡ I start¡ hmm¡ If you haven¡¯t notice you¡¯re not on earth.¡± The boy continues on while ignoring her comment. ¡°Thanks for the common sense.¡± Zadia retorted ¡°Anyways¡there are multiple worlds run by multiple gods, to run this worlds us ¡°gods¡± use reincarnated souls to help our worlds move into a direction we want¡ You¡ are special, since there are few souls that can be reincarnated and even fewer that retain memories from their former life.¡± The boy says making dramatic pauses. Reading on Amazon or a pirate site? This novel is from Royal Road. Support the author by reading it there. ¡°Is there a reason why you only use reincarnated souls? Also stop will all that it¡¯s ticking me off¡± Zadia says folding her arms. ¡°Naturally humans have little to no connection to the spirit world which we gods live in, of course. When you die your soul either connects to the path that leads to punishment or the other you¡¯re reward¡ well if you ask me they are the same thing.¡± The boy says pausing for a moment. ¡°What about souls that don¡¯t go to either, do they get reborn?¡± Zadia asks with an annoyed expression. ¡°Not quite¡ most turn into ghosts and have to be destroyed. Which makes me happy to have found you.¡± The boy says with a bright smile. ¡°So what, I got from that was¡ you plan on using me to fix a problem that doesn¡¯t just involve a couple of people but an entire world?¡± Zadia says rubbing her head. ¡°Wow you sure have big dreams.¡± The boy says playfully. ¡°Shut it¡ so what is it you want me to fix?¡± Zadia says calmly. ¡°Many things¡ but first let¡¯s talk about marriage.¡± The boy says with a serious look. Zadia thinks for a moment and thought of the worst possible outcome in her head. ¡°I¡¯m not marrying you pervert, why would I want hang out with someone as ugly as you¡tch¡ disgusting.¡± Zadia says while showing disgusts. ¡°Heheh¡heh¡ Don¡¯t worry¡ I don¡¯t plan on lowering my standards¡ Maybe I shouldn¡¯t tell you. Why would I want to help you¡yea¡hahah¡ I¡¯ll just leave and let you live in misery no matter how much you beg¡ I should just crush you under my foot like the insect you are¡heheh¡ after I rip off your wings first¡ and your tiny legs watching you squirm¡ then reattach your arms to your eyeballs¡hahaha¡ personally I think you¡¯ll look better without your skin!!¡± The boy says with expression darker than a devil and lets out a laugh more sinister then a madman between his sentences. Dark Clouds start forming around him emitting immense pressure. The boy finally snaps back to reality and notices Zadia cowering in fear. She had fallen on her butt with her entire body trembling. ¡°Sorry old habits are tough to get rid of.¡± The boy says with a smile. ¡°It¡¯s¡al-alright¡.n-no big de-deal¡¡±Zadia says with nervous laugh ¡°Anyways¡ your mother has arrange six suitors for you to marry¡when you turn 14 of course.¡± The boy casually continues the conversation. ¡°W-what? She wouldn¡¯t do that.¡± Calming herself down, she replies. ¡°Well¡ more like she¡¯s forced to, you see¡ the suitors are from influential families, 2 are sons of previous heroes and the other four are from top generals¡¯ of different countries. There are 6 countries by the way.¡± ¡°So¡ is there a way to refuse without any¡ repercussions?¡± Zadia asks nervously. ¡°Yes¡ its simple really you have to beat them in a duel. We need to get this out of the way so we can continue on to our real goal. I need a hero not a housewife.¡± ¡°What¡¯s the real goal?¡± Zadia gave a curious look ¡°We¡¯ll get there when we get there.¡± They boy gave a mischievous smile ¡°Can, I ask one thing?¡±Zadia stares ¡°Hmm¡What is it?¡± ¡°Who are you?¡± Zadia gave a nervous look. ¡°Lets¡¯ just say I¡¯m your best friend¡ and your worst enemy.¡± The boy says with an ominous smile. Chapter 2: Re-married? ¡°Damn it!! Why won¡¯t he show up its¡¯ been two weeks! I don¡¯t want to marry!! Argh!¡± Causing a scene throwing books around in her room was Zadia. Her room had two bookshelves with fine designs engraved to the sides, with a fancy window in the middle. Her bed was a queen size one with red sheets. Across from her bed was her desk and chair. ¡°Ask my mother? I was hoping he would give me powers or something¡tch¡ that brat!!¡± Zadia says as she collapses onto her bed. [I guess she can teach me¡ she does seem to be the warrior type¡ even though I never seen her hold a sword before.] Zadia scratches her head as she thinks. ¡°Fine then!! I¡¯ll ask!!¡± Zadia shouts with resolve. Zadia sprints out of her room down the long hallway, and stops at the double stairway. There were two stairways on each side and a rail connecting them in between. She sees her mother with hair just like hers only longer and in a ponytail with C cup boobs, at the entrance of their house holding the door open. A hand comes from behind tapping her shoulder. ¡°Madam, your mother would like for you to wait in your room until the guests have left.¡± It was the head maid Elda she was in her early 30s, but looked like she was in her 20s. She had black hair, b-cup boobs, and wore glasses over her dark brown eyes. ¡°Why¡± as Zadia ask, she notices a man walking into her field of vision coming out of the living room, heading towards her mother. He was a tall, a well-built man, he was wearing fancy full-plated white armour. He had black hair and a full beard, with a sword on his side and a scar through his eye. [He must be the father of one of those six brats] Zadia smiles, which causes Elda to feel uneasy. [I¡¯ll just knock him out that¡¯ll make him hate me! Hahah!! That¡¯s perfect] Ignoring Elda she runs past her and leaps off the rail, she moves into a roll and rushes the man. She eyed his chin moving faster with each step. She appeared in front of him in seconds, sending her right foot flying towards his chin. [Haha! I got ¡. You?] When she glances towards her foot she notice the man had caught it with his right hand. Still in mid-air she twists her body sending her left foot flying a second later. [Die!! Bastard!!] The man casually catches her other foot with his free hand. Realizing she can¡¯t use her legs anymore she attempts to punch to no avail, her arms are too short and can¡¯t reach his armour plating. Zadia, who is now dangling freely, shamelessly shouts at the man with her skirt uplifted. ¡°If only I was older!! I would lay you out old man!!¡± Zadia shouts as she attempts more punches. ¡°Zadia¡¡± Just then a chill went down her spine. This was a feeling she would always get when she realizes she messed up. This feeling tortured her mentally, causing endless nightmares that scared her so much she rather endure physical torture. The source of this voice was¡ ¡°Mother?¡± She says with a nervous smile ¡°General, would you please excuse my rude daughter.¡± ¡°It¡¯s fine Julianne, haha!!¡± The man says with a hearty laugh, after gently putting Zadia down. Julianne grabs Zadias hand giving her a look that told her to stay quiet. ¡°I change my mind lets¡¯ not cancel the marriage, you made her sound so fragile¡ being sick from birth huh? I guess I was worried for no reason, Haha!!¡± The man says with a smile. ¡°But, General¡¡± Julianne interjects ¡°It¡¯s fine call me Rolf, we¡¯ll going be a family anyways, I¡¯ll let those other sods know that Zadias become healthy, I¡¯m sure they were worry too hahaha!¡± Rolf gave a loud laugh as he leaves. Zadia stood there dumbfounded [Did I just screw myself over? No way¡ That bastard made it sound like that dueling them was the only way¡ No¡ he set me up!! That bastard!] Zadia notices her mothers¡¯ slight frown as she closes the door. Juliannes grip tightens on Zadias hand. Zadia breaks away from her grip and stands in front of her facing her. ¡°Mother, could you teach me how to wield a sword?¡± ¡°Who told you about that?¡± Julianne said in an interrogating manner. [hmm¡ I¡¯ll feel bad if I blame it on Elda or the other maids¡ There is one other person though.] ¡°Papa told me!¡± Zadia said cutely Juliannes expression turned cold when she heard Zadias answer. At that very moment the door swung open and a man with a blight smile came in, closing the door behind him. He had light brown hair and eyes, had a muscular build but slim, and was the same age as Julianne. ¡°Honey!! How did it go!?! I saw the General earlier did it work? He was the last person left to convince, how did it go?¡± He asks with bright curiosity. If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation. ¡°Galen¡¡± Julianne says coldly. Noticing her tone Galen immediately switches to defense. ¡°Whatever it is it wasn''t me this time!! I swear!¡± Galen says with a nervous smile and sweat dripping down his forehead. ¡°How much did you tell Zadia and when?¡± Julianne ¡°Wait¡ What do you mean?¡± Galen asks with a dumbfounded face [How would my dad¡ brag about mom hmm¡Oh, I know!!] Zadia ponder for a moment before speaking ¡°Papa didn''t you mention moms boobs were always bouncing around whenever she was fighting?¡± Zadia says with a cute face ¡°Zadia¡ Papa would never say such a thing¡ you believe me right honey?" Galen says nervously glancing back and forth between Zadia and Julianne. ¡°Zadia¡ Wait here, Mama has to teach Papa what happens when someone doesn¡¯t listen.¡± Julianne starts to drag Galen outside, she reaches for the door knob and starts to open it. ¡°Zadia¡ please don¡¯t be irresponsible, if this continues papa will be hurt. You don¡¯t want papa to be hurt right?¡± Galen says with a pleading smile. ¡°So Papa¡ wants me to lie?¡± Zadia says placing her hand on her cheek. ¡°That¡¯s bad papa!¡± Zadia says with a cute smile Galen looks at Julianne mortified as she opens the door and drags him outside. ¡°Ohoho¡ You¡¯re full of surprises today Galen.¡± Julianne says as she closes the door. Half an hour passes with screams that filled the silent air. Zadia stood there patiently feeling sorry for her dad. A moment later the door opens Julianne carefully blocks Zadia from looking at Galen and grabs onto her hand. Julianne led her up the left staircase leading to the left hallway. ¡°Come¡Since the original plan won¡¯t work anymore. I¡¯ll teach you swordsmanship.¡¯ ¡°Okay!¡± Zadia said excited. She glances back and sees Elda and the other maids carrying Galen inside. His clothes were bloodied and ripped, while his face had bruises all over. There were three hallways on the second floor two long, one short. The Short one was the center hallway that led to Julianne and Galens room which was the biggest room. The right hallway contained four small rooms and one medium. The medium room at the end was Zadias the other four small rooms belong to the maids which could house two people each. The right hallway was forbidden to Zadia. ¡°If he hadn¡¯t told you¡ you would have listened and stayed in your room today¡¡¯ Julianne says with sigh. [Well probably yea¡ If that bastard never told me, this could have been avoided. I never had to worry about marriage in the first place... until I clearly screwed myself over.] ¡°Now I know why he told me to teach you swordsmanship yesterday.¡± [Wow coincidences are scary¡] As they reach the door at the end of the hallway, Julianne turns and faces Zadia. ¡°I know you¡¯re passionate about learning swordsmanship and adventuring¡ I figure it out when you were practicing your war cry a year ago in your room, it scared everyone downstairs.¡± She says letting out a soft laugh. [Oh, you mean when I finally realize I was a girl¡ Sorry to tell you but, I was just letting out screams I held in from two years of denial.] ¡°I needed people to think you were sick but, that didn''t work out¡ You were like me when I was young when I heard stories of warriors I wasn''t able to stay in one place, but your only four you shouldn''t rush things.¡± Julianne says with gentle smile. [Lesson learned¡When people rush in this world they get engage to a stranger five seconds later in my case six of them.] Julianne turns and opens the Door which leads to an old training hall with big square floor in middle for sparring, there were weapon racks on each side of the square. Against the left side was an archery range. Straight across the door were training dummies. On the walls were decorative shields and swords. Armour stands to the far right side. ¡°Woah¡¡± Zadia says in amazement. Julianne walks over to a weapon rack pulls two swords and tosses one over to Zadia. The sword flys over and the tilt hits Zadia in the face, knocking her over. ¡°Ouch!!¡± Zadia grunted ¡°Lets¡¯ begin!¡± Julianne shouts in a firm tone Zadia picks up the sword and starts charging forward, with all her strength. Then she realizes she is just dragging the sword. ¡°Heavy¡¡± Zadia says panting ¡°Well, we can start from here too.¡± Julianne says with a gentle smile as she walks over. Chapter 3: Training Results ¡®Ching!!¡¯ ¡®Clink!¡¯ Sparks flew and the sounds of swords clashing upon each other filled the room. Standing in the center of the room was Zadia and Julianne. Zadia had become a little older, the aura she gave was greater than before. ¡°Clink!¡± Four years of training helped her developed stronger muscles, which allowed her to lift a sword easily and swing it swiftly. Her speed and stamina were also greater than before. ¡°Okay, that¡¯s enough for today.¡± Julianne walked to one of weapon racks placing her sword there. They had been training for six hours, but the only one that¡¯s showing signs of exhaustion was Zadia. Zadias body was covered in sweat. Julianne on the other hand didn''t sweat a drop. [Damn, am I just that weak or is she just that strong] Zadia wondered, as she placed her sword on the rack. Julianne pats her on the back, bringing her back to reality. ¡°Good job today. You¡¯re getting better every day.¡± Julianne says with a prideful smile. ¡°I can¡¯t tell.¡± Zadia says in frustration. She has never been able to lay even a scratch on Julianne, no matter how much effort she puts into her training. It always ends with her being the only exhausted one. ¡°Tomorrow, we will be visiting a friend of mine, who works in a training hall, where his job is to train kids around your age to be knights.¡± Zadia turns to Julianne with a slightly worry expression. ¡°I can¡¯t even lay a scratch on you though¡¡± Zadia says worrying ¡°Don¡¯t worry. They wouldn''t be much of a challenge for you¡Oh I know! Just think of it as a quick warm up.¡± Julianne says confidently. [How can she be so confident¡tch¡ if only that brat had given me help, like super strength or something.] Zadia drags her tired feet towards her bedroom. She collapses onto her bed passing out seconds later. This is how she ended most of her days, with solo practice in the morning and training with Julianne in the evening. Zadia opened her eyes to a familiar scene, white floor and endless white space, filled with nothing like blank printing paper. There she sees a familiar boy with green hair and eyes. ¡°Hello!¡± The boy waves with a smile ¡°¡¡± Zadia stares at him with an annoyed expression ¡°Hmm, what¡¯s this? Aren''t you happy to see me?¡± The boy crosses his arms. ¡°Yes¡ real glad¡¡± Zadia says sarcastically ¡°That¡¯s nice of you, I¡¯m happy to hear that.¡± The boy says ignoring the sarcasm ¡°You never told me your name¡¡± Zadia asks with curiosity in her voice. ¡°You never asked.¡± As he places a hand on his chin rubbing in it. ¡°So what is it?¡± Zadia eyes were focus on the boy. ¡°Hmm¡lets¡¯ see¡you may call me¡Earth!¡± The boy says with a mischievous smile. ¡°Are you just trying to annoy me?¡± Zadia grunted in frustration. ¡°Well, humans can¡¯t hear our true names. Since they won¡¯t be able to pick up our language.¡± Earth says. ¡°Well¡ why call yourself Earth?¡± Zadia says rubbing her head ¡°Simple what do you remember when, you remember your home on Earth?¡± Earth smiles ¡°Well¡when I think about it every time I remember Earth. I remember my home, then I¡¯m reminded of all the times I been bullied, robbed, and gone through depress- hey¡ wait a minute¡ you mean.¡± Zadia says with an annoyed look. ¡°The main purpose of this name is to remind you of all your past experiences, so every time we meet you will remember them, and every time you curse me you will remember them, you¡¯re lucky I¡¯m so thoughtful right?¡± Earth smiles brightly. As Zadias face reddened in anger, Earth casually continues talking without paying her any attention. ¡°Any ways, I wanted to give you a quick heads up.¡± ¡°About what?¡± Zadia grunted ¡°You should really learn about the world you¡¯re currently living in and learn their traditions too.¡± ¡°Why?¡± ¡°Hmm¡ you¡¯re my partner, I can¡¯t have you die on me¡ dead humans make poor partners.¡± Earth casually says as he stretches his arms. ¡°Wait¡ what do you mean? Am I going to die? How? When?¡± Zadia says in panic ¡°Well, you don¡¯t have to worry about it for now, there¡¯s still time.¡± Earth says in an uncaring tone. ¡°What are you talking about!? When is it!?¡¯ Zadia shouts in frustration Reading on Amazon or a pirate site? This novel is from Royal Road. Support the author by reading it there. ¡°Well, good luck.¡± Earth waves with a smile as he disappears along with the scene around her, everything fades to black. Zadia wakes up and sees Elda shaking her. ¡°Madam, you have to get ready.¡± Elda tells her, while pulling the sheet off. [Damn him! He must enjoy this, that bastard.] Zadia thought as she got up and headed to the bath. She washed herself head first and worked her way down. When she got out, Elda had already gotten her a new set of clothes. ¡°Madam, your mother is waiting for you downstairs.¡± Elda mentions as Zadia dresses herself. Usually the maids would dress her but she protested strongly against it. ¡°What for?¡± Zadia asks with a confused face. ¡°She had mention she would take you to the Wing Knights training hall.¡± [Oh, I remember now.] Zadia walks out her room fully dressed and heads down the hall. She arrives at the stairs and sees Julianne standing in front of the entrance door. She runs down the stairs towards her. ¡°I¡¯m ready to go.¡± Zadia smiles. ¡°Then lets¡¯ head out.¡± Julianne marches outside with Zadia in tow. They arrive at the training hall, throughout their entire walk here, Julianne and Zadia would receive Lustful glances. Julianne was immune to the constant staring but, Zadia on the other hand was feeling extremely uncomfortable. [Damn creepy bastards. Why the hell are they staring for!? Damn perverts!] Zadia had clenched her fists the entire time. ¡°Lets¡¯ go in.¡± Julianne says grabbing Zadias hand as she walks in. The building was filled with the sounds of swords clashing. The air smelled of sweat, and the hall was ten time bigger than the training ground at her house. In the Center were twenty boys training in pairs, to every side where boys observing the fights. To the far left side up against the wall were ten training dummies being practiced on. As Julianne and Zadia walked in, some of the boys noticed them and started to whisper. ¡°Look, it¡¯s a girl.¡± A boy whisper to his friend next to him. More of them started notice the two and moments later. Zadia notice their sparring intensify, those who were sparring were now shouting with every swing. They even sweated more everyone seemed to suddenly train harder. ¡°HyaaaAH!!¡± They shouted as they swung at each other. ¡°1001!!1002!!1003!!¡± The boys hitting the training dummies started counting their swings out loud. The entire hall became lively. [What has gotten them so worked up?] Julianne steps behind Zadia and places both hands on her shoulders. Zadia glances upwards noticing her smile. Zadia gets a chill running through her spine. ¡°Whoever beats this girls gets to go on a date with her!¡± Julianne shouted, her voice cut through all the noise reaching every ones ears. ¡°Mother, what are you saying!?¡± Zadia responds The hall became silent, everyone focused on Zadia. [Theres no way these guys are into little girls, there may be a couple weirdoes¡¯ but that¡¯s it] When she came to, she notice a long line of those who were training earlier combine with those that had happen to overhear from outside. ¡°Impossible¡¡± Zadia says in shock She could easily see there were over 20 of them. Zadia gets a gentle push to the center which was now clear. ¡°Good luck!¡± Julianne cheers her on before she leaves. [Great, I can¡¯t lose here¡tch¡I¡¯ll slaughter them all] Zadia stares down a boy a little older than her, as he enters her line of sight. Another boy by a weapon rack tosses both of them a sword. Zadia catches the sword easily. ¡°I¡¯ll let you take a free swing¡± The boy says arrogantly As he said that a second later, Zadia was already in mid-swing. The boy was caught off guard he didn¡¯t know how she could appeared right next to him so fast, she closed the gap between them without him noticing. ¡°Argh¡¡± the boy groans as he is sent flying several feet unconscious. ¡°Okay¡ Who¡¯s next?¡± Zadia asks while looking around.
I''ll like to give my thanks to anyone who has been able to read this far. I know it has a bit of a slow start, but I like it this way. I would like to rush it but it will end up not making any sense. Well this reply is just a simple thank you. Chapter 4: Yearning for...adventure... In her room with books piled upon her desk was Zadia studying intensely. She had taken the advice of Earth, who had told her two years prior to learn about the world she lived in. She considered it five months ago, after giving it a lot of thought she replace her morning practice with reading and studying. ¡°So that¡¯s why the trainees of the White Knights were weak. Rowien has a weak knight order.¡± Zadia mutters to herself. Zadia took well written notes on each of the countries. The countries that existed in this world were Atania, Miragord, Rowien, Cacien, Legeadia, and Tardoden. Each had their own unique unit. -Elemental Magicians of Atania -Divine Paladins of Miragord -Rowiens Devil Rangers -Legeadia Lancers -Cacien Chargers -Dragon Slayers of Tardoden Legeadia and Cacien used to be one country but disputes amongst themselves cause them to divide into two fractions. Which cause both of them to be the smallest of the six countries. When she saw the word dragon, she had decided to look to see if monsters actually existed in this world. When she found out they did, she was ecstatic. In fact there were so many monsters in this world that the Adventurers¡¯ Guild had set up at numerous places all over the world. ¡°I wonder how strong those Dragon Slayer guys are.¡± Zadia had imagined meeting one. Tardoden had been rumored to have the strongest knights, while some may dispute it in favor of the Miragold Paladins. Zadia on the other hand had been living in the capital of Rowien. Rowien was known to have a pathetic order of knights, but their rangers were on an exceptional level. They were skilled in range combat, assassination, and gathering Intel. They have done so many dirty jobs they were refer to as devils. Another topic that caught Zadias eye was that Atania, was the only country to have magic users. Information can¡¯t be found on how they discovered it and they refuse to let the information leak out. ¡°I wonder if I could learn magic if I go there.¡± Zadia wondered as she stretched her arms, leaning back on her chair. A knock on her door startled her as she turns towards it. Zadia opens the door to see a boy who had blue eyes and blonde hair, he was what you would call a pretty boy. Zadia was ten and if she had to guess, she would say this boy was twelve, since he appear a little older. ¡°Ah¡we finally meet my lady.¡± He says with a charming smile, as he moves to kiss her hand. [You got to be kidding me.] ¡°I am Sir Dillion Roche, son of Rowiens most renown general Malik Roche.¡±Dillion gave a confident smile. [Oh, great¡ For some reason I want to punch this guys¡¯ face.] ¡°Would you like to take a walk with me my lady?¡± Dillion says with a face full of confidence as he smiled, he reaches his hand out, and takes her hand. Dillion was so confident he knew she wouldn¡¯t be able to refuse him. ¡°Tch, don¡¯t touch me creep.¡± Zadia says in a cold voice as she slams the door. Dillion stood there shocked, he was so surprise that his legs tremble a bit almost had him falling down. Elda who watch it all unfold walks up to console Dillion, who was now standing there with a dumbfounded face. Thoughts like [Where did I go wrong?] or [No one has ever refused me!] rang through his head. ¡°My lord, don¡¯t take it too hard. It¡¯s just that madam is very shy, she has never made much contact with men¡aside from punching¡ kicking¡ and hitting. There was also that one time she head butted her father.¡± Elda says with a worried voice. ¡°Oh¡ is that so?¡± Dillion says with new resolve ¡°Do you know her schedule?¡± ¡°She will be training with the mistress in the evening.¡± Elda responded slightly confused. ¡°Training for what? Wait¡could it be¡ she¡¯s been planning to take us on in a duel? Hahaaha! I doubt she could beat me.¡± Dillion says, as he wipes off tears that resulted from laughing to hard. ¡°I guess I¡¯ll take her on today no need to wait four years for the obvious result.¡± Dillion struts away, overflowing with confidence. Elda watch Dillion with a worried expression, as she gave out a deep sigh. ¡°I hope madam doesn''t beat the boy to death¡No, what am I saying madam would never do that!¡± Elda tries to convince herself, as she heads off to do her cleaning. In her room Zadia had gone back to reading. She had about three hours till her training session with Julianne. She thought about her future for a bit. Zadia had come across tons of rumors about dungeons, ancient ruins, and so much more. This narrative has been purloined without the author''s approval. Report any appearances on Amazon. ¡°After this marriage business¡ I want to be an adventurer. It¡¯s no fun being here.¡± Nothing has ever happened here at the capital, the capitals were the safest place of each country. It was an area that was well protected and far away from the border. The pay for an adventurer here is higher and the requests less dangerous, but Zadia didn''t want gold she wanted adventure. ¡°Tch¡I still don¡¯t get that become a hero nonsense.¡± Zadia is reminded of Earth [He probably is planning something else¡ That guy¡ I wonder what he means by all that.] [I would be seriously be tick off, if he tells me he was just screwing with me.] Zadian gave an annoyed look [Well, he did say we were partners¡AaaaARGH!! When did I become so trusting] Zadia says as she rubs her head with her right hand and slams her desk with her left. Time flies as she skims through books and jots down notes. Zadia became lost in her thoughts when a knock came from the door. When she opens the door, Elda was standing there. ¡°Madam, it¡¯s time for your evening lesson, the mistress is waiting.¡± Elda says as she motions Zadia to come. ¡°Oh, I almost had forgotten. Thank you Elda.¡± Zaldia responds as she walked with quick steps to the training hall. When Zadia arrives she notices Julianne standing next to Dillion. They were both talking, Dillion held a sword in his hand, and Julianne had a sword in hers. Zadia walks up and interrupts them. ¡°Why is he here?¡± Zadia spoke coldly as she glances at Dillion. They both stopped to look at Zadia. ¡°Dillion here, has offered to give up on the marriage if you beat him in a duel. He is quite confident in his abilities.¡± Julianne spoke out ¡°But if you lose, you will have to marry him within the week.¡± Julianne says without any signs of being worried. [He came here to try to get my favor first, probably because he knows he¡¯s no match for the other five.] Zadia thought, as she was giving an already bored expression. ¡°Well, sounds easy enough.¡± Zadia says as she receives the sword Julianne tosses her. ¡°You seem to have a lot of confidence.¡± Dillion says with a smirk Dillion readied his stance, while Zadia casually stands there one handing her blade. ¡°Don¡¯t underestimate me.¡± Dillion mutters Dillion makes the first move soaring in while slashing diagonally to the left. Zadia parries it and her knee rockets into his stomach launching him backwards. ¡°aargh..¡±Dillion tries to make a hasty retreat leaping backwards. Zadia pursues him charging in. She slashes at his stomach which broke Dillions block. ¡°Damn!¡± Dillion sneered After breaking through his defenses Zadias left hook violently erupts, clashing against Dillions cheek, sending him flying. He hits the floor, but staggers back up. ¡°I¡¯m not done yet.¡± Dillion mumbles weakly. [I guess I should stop playing with him now] Zadia thought as she gave pity Dillion gets back into his stance barely able to stand with his knees trembling. He fixed his eyes on Zadia, and in the next moment she disappears and he passes out. What he didn''t see was Zadia increasing her speed and when he blink she was already to the left of him in mid swing connecting with his head. [Well he was stronger than those trainees, but that¡¯s about it] Zadia turns and sees Elda and another maid walking over to him, taking him away. She walks to Julianne to continue her lesson. After the training with Julianne was over, Zadia left dripping with sweat, walking through the long hallways. She came across Dillion who was standing outside her door. Five hours prior, he had been knocked out from Zadia, but he was already roaming around with a bruise on his face. ¡°What do you want?¡±Zadia sighed ¡°I will honor my promise, but that does not mean I will give up! I will train harder and make you fall in love with me!!¡± Dillion shouts with confidence and marches out. [So¡that means the marriage is cancelled¡right?] Zadia wondered ¡°Well, anyways one down five to go!¡± Zadia shouts to the roof. Chapter 5: Hero or Zero? The streets of the capital were always filled with people, coming and going all throughout the day. The types of people that litter the capital varied from merchants, swordsman, knights, smiths, and adventurers of different kinds. ¡°Damn¡It¡¯s crowded, can¡¯t wait for the day I leave the capital.¡± In the middle of this chaos was Zadia counting this year she had already become 12. Zadia now had a more developed chest, longer legs with clear skin, and a more feminine face. Her growth also attracted unwanted attention more than before. Zadia had learn to control herself better, and now only proceeded to hit those that touched her. ¡°Here we are.¡± Zadia stared with excitement Zadia had arrive at the entrance of the adventurers¡¯ guild. Today she took a break from her routine and decided to visit the adventurers¡¯ guild. Julianne had allowed her to go, under the condition she comes back before sundown. She was also given a sword for self-defense, which was attach to her leather belt. ¡°Hmm, so this is the adventurers¡¯ guild.¡± Zadia takes big steps while looking around. The guild had a wooden bar to her right with stools to accompany them and several adventurers hanging about. To her left were several tables with men playing cards, drinking, eating, and chatting. Straight across was the adventurers board, it contain quests that could be taken. Manning the bar was a burly man, she couldn¡¯t see his face as he had his back turned. Zadia made her way towards him. ¡°Hey old man! Where can I register?¡± Zadia shouted, as people turned towards her in shock. They started whispering to one another. ¡°Does that girl have a death wish?¡± one man whispered. ¡°Seems that way.¡± Another responded to his question. Zadia hearing all the comments coming from the men behind her was getting annoyed. Just as she was about to turn around and start her rampage, the burly man faced her as he glared at her. He had scars all over his face and hands. She wondered how many more scars are hidden underneath his long sleeve shirt. ¡°Young lady, is that how you address those older than you?¡± The man spoke in a menacing tone. [Pfft¡Earth and mom are a hundred times scarier than you old man] ¡°Can, you just tell me where I can go to register?¡± Zadia eyes started to wonder. Adventurers nearby stayed quiet listening in curiously. Some were shocked to see her casually talking to the man without a care. They all expected her to fear him, because most of them in the guild, if not all were scared of this burly man with his hideous scars. ¡°How old are you?¡± The burly man inquires as he crosses his arms. ¡°Twelve.¡± Zadia retorted while sticking out her tongue. The burly man paused for a moment. He was stunned by the fact that this girl could be so bold. Then let out a laugh that roared throughout the guild, sending chills down the spines of the adventurers present. ¡°Hahah!! It¡¯s been a while since I met someone like you.¡± The man looks around at the other adventurers, all of them averted their eyes as he searched the room. ¡°Meaning?¡± Zadia spoke as she observed him. ¡°There¡¯s not a single real adventurer amongst the lot of them. In the Capital there¡¯s nothing but the greedy and drunk loitering around here.¡± The man boldly declared. Zadia noted every ones silence not a single one refuted him oddly enough. Just then she realize what he meant. ¡°The best of the adventurers are out there in dangerous lands exploring, killing the biggest monsters, discovering the most ancient of artifacts. I have met some of the most famous adventurers while I was stationed out there, where the real action was happening.¡± The old smiled as he is reminded of the past. ¡°Well, I don¡¯t care about that¡ Where can I register?¡± Zadia demanded as she stared. ¡°Hah! You have to be at least 15 before you can become an adventurer, it¡¯s a shame really. If I had to judge, I would say you are ready for it.¡± The man said scratching his cheek. ¡°Tch¡ damn it, I came here for nothing then. I wanted to at least go hunting for monsters.¡± Zadia mutters as she leaves. The burly man turns his back to resume his duties. ¡°Hey!¡± A voice came from behind, it to belong to a women. Zadia turns around and notices a girl with brown hair, and blue eyes. As she looks behind her she sees two men standing behind her, one was skinny, with black hair, and eyes, with a couple of daggers, while the other was tall, and big ,with a large belly, and black hair, with blue eyes holding a big two handed sword. ¡°Yes? What is it?¡± Zadia responded ¡°You want to come with us? We¡¯re heading over to a village not far from here to do a goblin subjugation request.¡± The woman offers with a cheery smile. ¡°Umm¡ Why do you want to take me?¡± ¡°Because, you seemed to be the kind of person that would want to go. So how about it?¡± The women offers her hand. ¡°Okay.¡± Zadia grasp her hand with hers. ¡°I¡¯m Prina, the small guy here is Arnold, and the big guy is Sten.¡± Prina points as she introduces them. ¡°Nice to meet you I¡¯m Zadia.¡± Zadia waves ¡°Heh, it¡¯s a pleasure to meet you.¡± Arnold grins, as he gets elbowed by Prina ¡°Ouch!!¡± ¡°Don¡¯t mind him. He¡¯s the creepy type and Sten¡ well he¡¯s the quiet one.¡± Prina takes Zadias hand. ¡°Well let¡¯s go!¡± Prina says with a smirk. The four had left the gates of the capital and were making way towards their destination. Zadia was amazed by being in the open world for the first time, outside the walls of the capital. They occasionally came across weak monsters like slime, and blobs which were just higher level slimes. They had walked for four hours, until they took a break. Prina was preparing dinner, while Sten was sharping his sword, and Arnold staring at Zadia. Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author. ¡°It¡¯s almost done!¡± Prina shouted joyfully ¡°Smells good.¡± Zadia commented. ¡°There!!¡± She had took out the four wooden bowls she had placed to the side, and filled the bowls with the soup. She gave Zadia the first bowl and then past the other two to her companions. Zadia started chowing down, when she noticed Prina and Arnold smiling. ¡°What are you....¡± Zadia started become drowsy [Don¡¯t tell me they put something in this?] ¡°damn¡it¡¡± Zadia mutter as she falls back. Her vision became dark, and it seems that she had become blind until minutes later. She had open her eyes to see a familiar cold place with white snow, the same dark alleyway, with the same people she or in other words he had despised. They stood there acting high and mighty with their group of five, thanks to these five this place, was the last place he ever saw. ¡°Hey guys, Lucas is still alive over here!¡± One of the men called to the others. [Oh yea this is where I¡¯m Lucas the 25 year old street punk¡Damn it¡ Wait something is wrong, my body is moving on its own!] Zadia notices the body getting up, as it was filled with knife wounds, bruises, broken bones, and missing teeth. [Damn¡how can I still move?] ¡°Hah! Look at this guy, the hero still thinks he can still take us, looking like that hahah!¡± the boy laughs as he leans onto the wall. [These bastards] Zadia notices the arms of the body being lifted. [Great, I can¡¯t do anything¡ it¡¯s just going to replay the last actions of my former self¡I wonder why I tried so hard in the end here ¡ I just look pathetic] The body brings up both his fists and erected two middle fingers, and a smile. [Oh¡ now I remember] ¡°What the hell!?! You bastard!¡± As the five get ready for round two, sirens rang from a distance. ¡°Crap! We got to go!!¡± One of them shouted as he ran off. [Hahah¡25 years of being treated like a criminal just because I had a scary face¡hah, no that¡¯s just an excuse¡ they were right, the moment I started acting like one¡ hmm I would of become a cop if I just ignored them heh¡] The body still stood battered, with legs trembling. [Teachers¡Students¡Adults¡I should have ignored them all¡Well I had hoped it would have been different, but in the end I became what they called me¡ hah, a common thug¡] As Zadia was deep in thought the body falls back¡ [Hmm¡ what was I doing here in the first place?] Just then Zadia notices a girl walking up to her in tears. She was a beautiful girl with black hair and dark eyes, and a slightly ripped dress. [Ah¡I remember they were trying to rape that girl¡I pulled her away from them and told her to run¡ she must have been the one to call the cops] ¡°I¡¯m¡sorry, this my fault¡¡± The girls cries out with tears streaming down. [Did, I die a hero? I wonder¡what makes a hero¡all I did was leave her with guilt¡] As Zadia was in thought she notices her lips move. ¡°Am¡I¡.scary?¡± Zadia was feeling embrassed [AaaaRGH..What am I saying!!¡am I a retard!! Who in the right mind would say no¡seeing my face all distorted and bru-] ¡°No¡¡± The girl responded [What? Why not?] Zadia wondered as her eyes were forcibly being close. [Damn it!] Her vision darkened until the scene of her death finally faded. Her surroundings were once again black, but then her vision slowly returned to her as she slowly opened her eyes, she had a slight headache and what came into view was Prina who was staring at her up close. [Oh, great you three.] Zadia thought as she looked down to see herself completely tied up. ¡°Wow, you¡¯re really pretty you know that.¡± Prina complimented [Hmm, it¡¯s past sundown, oh I forgot to tell mom, about this¡ phew these guys are life savers] Zadia let out a relexed sigh ¡°You don¡¯t look nervous¡± Prina was staring with a confused face [That¡¯s because you saved me from getting punished, now I can use the ¡°I got kidnapped excuse.¡±] ¡°Do, you realize that we plan on selling you?¡± Prina says with a smirk ¡°That¡¯s good, now that my mom heard that. I¡¯m off the hook.¡± Zadia smiles ¡°What are you-¡° Prina looks behind her and sees her dead comrades, with their blood splatter everywhere. ¡°Thanks, you¡¯re a lifesaver.¡± Zadia whispers. ¡°W-wh-who?¡± Prina nervously searches around wielding Zadias blade ¡°How dare you touch my precious daughter¡± A cold voice emerge sending chills down both their spines. Appealing before them was Julianne with menacing eyes, anger erupting out of her. ¡°D-da¡ªda¡ªdaughter?¡± Prina stutters. [I guess I can help her out] ¡°Mom¡ Prina was the one that tried to save me.¡± Zadia interjected, which surprised Prina ¡°She was a slave forced to follow those guys!¡± Zadia added ¡°Y-ye-yea, what she says is true!!¡± Prina stated ¡°Hmm¡fine then, you should serve as Zadias personal slave, if you live longer than my daughter, I will personally end you.¡± Julianne replies with a cold stare ¡°Come let¡¯s go home, Zadia, Prina.¡± Julianne walks in stride ¡°Karma huh?¡± Prina mutters. Chapter 6: The Crimson Reaper. -Two hours prior to Zadias rescue- -Juliannes POV- ¡°Zadia should be back by now¡.Where is she?¡± Julianne mutters as she paces back and forth. She had been waiting at the door for 20 minutes. She had her sword attached to her belt, she wanted to train Zadia for a couple hours before sending her off to bed. ¡°Elda!¡± Julianne calls towards the second floor. ¡°Yes mistress?¡± Elda responded hurrying into Juliannes line of sight. ¡°Did Zadia mention anything about coming home late?¡± Julianne turns facing the doorway. ¡°No mistress.¡± Elda replies with a worried expression. [Did something happen to her? Who would do such a thing? Why?] Julianne started to panic, but as she thought about it more, her anger grew. [I¡¯ll rip them apart whoever they are! I¡¯ll tear them to shreds!] Her panic turned into anger, as she grips her sword tighter. ¡°Mistress?¡± Elda calls out in concern. ¡°I¡¯m heading out.¡± Julianne replies as she rushes out sending the doors flying open. She disappears in a blink of an eye. [I should check to see if anyone at adventurers¡¯ guild has seen her. I¡¯m sure that she went there] She hasten her pace, as she surges through the crowds of people, creating powerful gusts of wind knocking down bystanders. She had finally arrive at the guild, leaving destruction in her path. She flung the doors open which causes them to shatter, drawing the attention of every single adventurer inside the guild. ¡°Who here has seen a girl with the same color hair as mine!?¡± Julianne demanded with menacing eyes. ¡°Hey lady calm dow-¡°An armored man spoke out, but before he could finish Julianne had slammed his face through the floor, decimating both man and floor. ¡°I¡¯ll ask again, who here has seen a girl with the same hair color as mine?!¡± Julianne shouted out in anger. ¡°Julianne? The Crimson Reaper? Hahah! It is you!¡± A voice emerge from behind her. It came from a man with scars covering his face, and a burly build. Whispers started to be heard from the adventurers around them. ¡°You mean that monster that has killed in the thousands?¡± A man wearing leather whispers ¡°Pfft, how can she be that monster, she has a kid. That old man must be going crazy.¡± Another whispers back ¡°Yea, I heard the reaper was a man. There¡¯s no way a women would be able to do that, the reapers feats were outstanding.¡± Another man in iron joins in. ¡°Vilkas?¡± Julianne ignoring the adventurers turns to face him, as does everyone else in the room. The men quiet down to listen in. ¡°Hah, so that was your daughter? I had a feeling she reminded me of someone.¡± Vilkas comes out from behind the bar with a grin. ¡°Where is she?¡± Julianne grabs his shirt as she interrogates him, looking ready to pummel him. ¡°W-wait, I heard she was heading through the north gates for a goblin subjugation quest.¡± Vilkas replies with sweat dripping down. ¡°You sure?¡± Juliannes glare intensifies. ¡°Y-yea, the information I get is the most reliable!¡± Vilkas boasts ¡°If she¡¯s not there, I¡¯ll be back to make you suffer for wasting my time.¡± Julianne lets go of his shirt as she disappears outside of the guild. Then even more whispers appeared from behind. ¡°Do you think that old man is scared of women?¡± Man with leather armour asks ¡°Probably, he¡¯s even scared of little girls. I saw this small girl bossing him around earlier.¡± A man in iron responds. ¡°Wait, so maybe he¡¯s actually just a wimp?¡± The man in leather guesses. ¡°Hey, you bastards!! Shut up! Do you want me to see if I¡¯m a wimp or not? Then lets¡¯ duke it out here!¡± Vilkas shouts, everyone gets up off their feet and charges at him. Missed punches led to betrayals which led to men randomly beating on one another. Meanwhile Julianne had just left the North Gate and was already scavenging the area. She had run into numerous monsters and bandits, but have easily destroyed them along with the bandit hideouts and the monsters lairs. [Where is she? Did that Vilkas lie to me? I will kill him if he did.] Julianne than notices smoke coming from afar. [Could she be there?] Julianne clinging onto that thought rushes over, and zips into the nearby trees. She notices three people. One was by Zadia, while the other two were talking by some bushes, they seem to be planning something but Julianne didn¡¯t care or was interesting in listening in. She wanted one thing to kill them all. She headed to where the skinny man and fat man were. If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. ¡°So lets¡¯ just sell them both, we¡¯ll make more money.¡± Skinny man grins ¡°¡¡± Fat man stays quiet, a second later his head falls off. ¡°W-what i-is this!?¡± Skinny man draws his daggers in panic, just before he¡¯s cleaved in two from behind. Julianne was still using the dulled sword she had when she waited to spar with Zadia, yet she cut through them like butter. ¡°Disgusting filth.¡± Julianne mutters as she crushes their heads underneath her feet. She starts to drag them towards the camp. As she approaches she notices Zadia waking up she let¡¯s go of the corpses and rushes to hide herself. [I¡¯m all bloody, I have to wipe this off!!] Julianne tries to scrap off the pieces of brain off her shoe. As she does she listens in on the girl talking to Zadia. ¡°Wow, you¡¯re really pretty you know that.¡± The girl says [Hah, of course, she is my daughter after all.] Julianne thought, almost forgetting why she¡¯s there. She then realizes she can¡¯t get rid of the stains on shoes entirely. [Why now! I will kill that girl for this!] Julianne furiously wiped her shoes, than she hears more. ¡°Do you realize that we plan on selling you?¡± the girl says with a smile, Julianne starts to snap. [That little slut¡I¡¯ll grind her bones¡I¡¯ll make her eat her own fingers¡] as Julianne anger grew, she sees the girl nervously looking around, having noticed the bodies of her former comrades. ¡°W-wh-who?¡± the girl pulls out Zadias blade shaking. [You filth, touching my daughters sword!!] Julianne jumps down in front of her. ¡°How dare you touch my precious daughter¡± Julianne says in a cold voice [I should release Zadia then handle her. I won¡¯t be able to have any fun if she watches.] ¡°D-da-da-daughter?¡± The girl stutters [Filth.] ¡°Mom¡ Prina was the one that tried to save me.¡± Zadia interjected [What¡¯s this? Did that slut lie to Zadia? I can still convinc-] ¡°She was a slave forced to follow those guys!¡± Zadia says with a serious look [This filth brainwashed her!? I will make her suffer!] ¡°Y-ye-yea, what she says is true!!¡± Prina stated [You maggot¡ if you are going to keep that lie, I have no choice but to educate you thoroughly.] ¡°Hmm¡fine then, you should serve as Zadias personal slave, if you live longer than my daughter, I will personally end you.¡± Julianne replies coldly [I¡¯ll will turn you into a perfect slave filth, if that¡¯s what you wanted filth¡ I will correct your ways from the inside out, till you bleed out your true colors, and I will replace it with my own design] ¡°Come let¡¯s go home, Zadia, Prina.¡± Julianne walks taking big steps. -Zadias POV- As they passed through the North Gate, Zadia had seen that Prina looked like she was bothered by something. ¡°Umm¡ Zadia¡¡± Prina whispers quietly ¡°Yea?¡± ¡°Why did you help me out back there?¡± Prina asks with a confused face ¡°Uhh¡well, because you looked like you needed it?¡± Zadia shrugs her shoulders ¡°Not much of a reason¡ you know I wouldn¡¯t have done the same right?¡± Prina mentions thinking about it. ¡°Well, I don¡¯t know you well enough yet.¡± ¡°Well, you know that I would sell you for gold if I had the chance.¡± Prina retorts ¡°You won¡¯t anymore. That¡¯s for sure.¡± Zadia stated confidently ¡°How do you know that?¡± Prina glances towards her ¡°My mom would kill you in the most horrible way if you did.¡± Zadia points towards Julianne who was walking in front of them. They had distance themselves from her so they could talk quietly. ¡°Oh¡yea.¡± Prina answers depressingly They arrive back at the mansion with a depressed Prina. Julianne had told Zadia to go to bed as she was going to teach Prina how to be a proper slave. As Zadia enter her room she leaped into her bed. Her eyes became heavy she slowly succumbs to sleep, when she opens her eyes she comes to the same white space with the same white floor. ¡°Earth?¡± Zadia calls out ¡°Hello Zadia, my favorite partner, we have¡ a little problem.¡± Earth replies with a small smile. Chapter 7: The Gameplan ¡°Wait, what problem? What do you mean?¡± Zadia became worried about what Earth had said. He had always held an aurora of mystery, and that caused her to feel nervous. ¡°Hmm¡ I guess I could tell you, it¡¯s about the army of dragons coming to kill you.¡± Earth mentions it in the most natural voice. Zadia had expected to be shocked by his words, but not to this extent. She had a very dumbfounded face as Earth casually tells her that dragons are coming to kill her. ¡°W-wait, why? What did I do to get dragons to hate me?¡± Zadia panics as she thinks about what she could have done to have cause this calamity. Then it hit her it wasn¡¯t by her actions, but his. Earth must have done something, or have been involved in this in some way. ¡°You! Why are you trying to do? Sending dragons after me!¡± Zadia screams in anger as she glares at Earth. ¡°Well, it wasn¡¯t my fault¡ directly. Let me explain.¡± Earth tries to calm down Zadia by petting her head. Zadia only grew angrier as Earth uncaring continues, till he felt satisfied. ¡°So¡ who is sending them? And why?¡± Zadia calms down as she fires out her questions. Earth on the other hand remained unfazed as he answered her with a calm smile. ¡°Well, remember when I told you us ¡°gods¡± use reincarnations to move our worlds the way we want?¡± Earth reminds her of the conversation eight years prior. Zadia thinks for a long moment before remembering. ¡°I thought you said each god has their own world.¡± Zadia thinks back, but remembers Earth not telling her much about anything other than be a hero. ¡°Well¡this world is being contested. The winner of this contest gets to rule over this world.¡± Earth says this with a plain smile. He shows no real emotion. Zadia couldn¡¯t tell whether he was being serious or joking, since he talks this way every time they meet. ¡°So...the dragon leading that army is a reincarnation, in other words. A hero of another god?¡± Zadia says with a face full of worry and excitement, wondering if she was strong enough to kill a dragon. Earth on the other hand was calm as usual showing an expressionless smile. ¡°Well¡ the problem is¡ the way you are right now. You will be brutally murder by the dragon hero. He¡¯s at least three times stronger than you.¡± Earths calm voice broke through Zadias thoughts, bringing her back to reality. ¡°W-what? Then how do I get stronger!? Tell me we¡¯re partners aren¡¯t we?¡± Zadia pleads with determination to survive. Earth lets out a small sigh. ¡°Of course I¡¯ll help you. Do you think I¡¯ll let my pawn die so quickly? This is only just the beginning.¡± Earth lectures Zadia with the same usual calm tone. ¡°P-pawn?¡± Zadia mutters to herself as she quiets down to listen to Earths instruction. ¡°You heard rumors of ancient places containing powerful artifacts that no one has been able to get correct?¡± Earth points out a fact Zadia had forgotten about. Zadia remembers Earth telling her to learn more about this world, and because of that she had studied. She had learn of an ancient tomb nearby Rowien during her studies, it had said to have vanish centuries ago. Many had searched for it and found nothing. It was a tomb to a female warrior that was rumored to have been the strongest of her time. She was one of the first to kill a dragon. ¡°Yes, there¡¯s supposedly only one near Rowien.¡± Zadia says in frustration as she doubts in the existence of the tomb. There have been a number of expeditions in the past to search for the tomb but all have ended in failure. ¡°Well, the reason these places remained undiscovered is because of me.¡± Earth claims with a smile, as Zadias eyes widen in surprise. ¡°You?¡± Zadia says in amazement as Earth continues on. ¡°Well, of course I would make preparations. I am pretty much on bad terms with all the gods in this contest, so this much should be expected.¡± Earth stated as Zadia took it in she thought to herself. She now knows that every hero chosen by the other gods would most likely target her, and it was all because of this one person. She knew Earth treated it as a game, but even knowing this Zadia thought there¡¯s no way he would lose. Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings. ¡°So, you are going to show me where it is?¡± Zadia zones in on Earth, ready for anything. ¡°Yes, you would know when you wake up. I will implant it into your memory.¡± Earth declares as he emits a small light from his right hand. It explodes outward and blinds Zadia for a brief moment. ¡°So now I will know where it is?¡± Zadia inquires as Earth nods in confirmation. ¡°Yes.¡± Earth says with a smile as he waits for Zadia to ask her questions. He had a feeling she would have many questions, so he remained silent. ¡°So, my real goal as a hero¡ is to kill other heroes?¡± Zadia glances as Earth as she spoke in a serious tone. ¡°Hmm¡ well you know it¡¯s easier than trying to become their friends. They would most likely stab you, if they found out you¡¯re a hero.¡± Earth says something that made Zadio curious. ¡°Wait, so how did they find out where I am?¡± Zadia asks with suspicion in her voice. ¡°I been masking your soul within the city, so you wouldn''t be discovered but one of the other gods picked up your soul when you were out of the capital. The souls of heroes, shine brighter than normal ones, but that doesn''t make you stronger than normal people, it just means you have the qualities of a hero.¡± Earth reminded Zadia she was still pretty weak. She wasn''t stronger than Julianne, which made her wonder why she was made a hero. Earth ignoring her saddened spirit return to the conversation of the tomb. ¡°In that tomb you will find a ring that will amplify your power by five times your normal amount. The reason for it, is because it contains the soul of the one entomb there within it.¡± Earth lets out a fake smile. Zadia hearing this, has gotten more excited. ¡°Still, just because you are to wear this ring does not make you the strongest, even if you become stronger than their hero. He still has an army of a hundred dragons. You can¡¯t win alone.¡± Earth gives her a reality check. ¡°So how am I supposed to win?¡± Zadia asks with a confident look. Earth gives out another sigh. ¡°Simple, get the armies of Rowien to help out.¡± Earth blurted out with a plain expression. ¡°How am I supposed to do that?¡± Zadia says in a frustrated voice. She was getting stressed at the fact she is basically preparing for war. She was only somewhat hopeful because she was placing all her hopes on Earth. ¡°Rowien has the best rangers in the world, which means they have the best scouts.¡± Earth cluing in Zadia who still remained confused. ¡°All you have to do basically, is convince them to send scouts to the east of their borders. Of course they won¡¯t believe a little girl.¡± Earth grins. Zadia was thinking he had a something evil planned for her. ¡°That¡¯s where the ring comes into play. When you activate the ring, it comes with a small surprise.¡± Earth gives a mischievous smile, which had cause Zadia to worry. ¡°Well, if I tell you now. It won¡¯t be a surprise any more just know it lasts for 24 hours.¡± Earth says grinning. ¡°Wait? What happens please tell me?¡± Zadia pleads with her friendliest smile. She was annoyed having to suck up to Earth, but she realize she had no choice. ¡°I find more entertainment, watching you discover things on your own.¡± Earth ignores her pleads, as he moves onto the next topic. ¡°Oh, by the way they will arrive in about twelve weeks.¡± Earth smiles as he snaps his fingers. ¡°Wait!¡± Zadia shouts towards Earth as her vision starts to fade. ¡°Good luck. Partner.¡± Earths voice lingered in her head. Chapter 8: Stone Guardian In her spacious room putting on the rough leather armour which was as sturdy as steel and a sharp steel sword that could cut men down easily was Zadia a crimson haired girl. She had just woken up, but when she had awoken from her dream, in which she had talked to Earth. She had ask Elda to bring her some armour and a sword, for she was planning to head out of the capital for a couple days at most. Elda had ask why, but she receive no real answer. ¡°Madam, you should at least tell the mistress.¡± Elda compromised hoping she would get through. ¡°Don¡¯t tell her Elda. I¡¯m sneaking out.¡± Zadia whispers into her ear as she attaches her sword to her belt. Elda was surprised she had said such a thing. Julianne had always been soft on Zadia, she would train her till she collapsed, but she had never gave her any serious damage. In the past when she trained people, most of them would end up crippled or had serious injuries. Which is why many have stopped coming to ask her to make them stronger, just before Zadia was born despite how strong she is. This is why Elda couldn''t understand why Zadia didn¡¯t just tell Julianne, but Zadia never noticed this. She has never seen how Julianne was before, or noticed how much Julianne cared for her. She just assumed that this is how Julianne has always trained others. ¡°B-but, the mistress¡¡± Elda spoke with worry, not only for Zadia but Julianne. Seeing how Elda behaved Zadia let out a sigh, and finally change her mind as she turns towards her. She was usually more stubborn, but Elda gave such a saddened and worried expression it was worst then any of her previous ones. So sad that even Zadia couldn¡¯t resist it. ¡°Fine, I¡¯ll tell her.¡± Zadia mutters with the feeling of defeat, as she drags her feet out of her room with a smiling Elda close behind. Slowly they walked through the hall, the curious Zadia had asked Elda where Julianne was as she was making her way down the steps. Elda had told her that Julianne was still training Prina, and that Julianne would much prefer Zadia not see Prina while she was still uneducated. So Zadia waited at the entrance of the mansion patiently as Elda went to inform Julianne with hurried steps. After five minutes Julianne appeared, emerging from the door just to the right for Zadia, who stood in front of the entrance facing the stairs. ¡°Zadia, is something wrong?¡± Julianne asks as she quickly walks up to Zadia placing a hand on each of her shoulders. Julianne looked at her as she demanded to know why she was dress like this, and asked her where she was going that it would take her two days to return. Zadia on the other hand wanted to keep it a secret, the reason being she wanted to surprise Julianne with the new found power Earth had promised her. She didn¡¯t get why she wanted to impress Julianne or why she wanted Julianne to praise her more, like how she always did in training. In her past life she had never gotten praise, which made her feel pathetic for keeping it a secret for this reason. She knew this was pathetic and her mission would be easier if she took Julianne, but she wanted to do it, to impress Julianne. ¡°I¡¯m heading out of the capital to get stronger! I¡¯ll be back in a couple days.¡± Zadia states sternly, Julianne sighs as she wraps her arms around Zadia enveloping her with a warm hug. The sudden hug attack shocks Zadia, as she thinks back through all of her memories. She had never knew about it before, but at that very moment she had realize, this is what love feels like. She had never experience this before in her past life, which is why she never realize how much she was loved in this one. All those painful experiences from the orphanage to her death seemed to have made her forgotten, that this was her life now. As Zadia remained unresponsive from the shock, Julianne had started thinking she was making Zadia feel uncomfortable, so she removed her arms in a hurry. ¡°S-sorry, it¡¯s weird to start hugging you now¡ You always seemed distant, that I never got a chance to cuddle you as much as I wanted¡but now¡ I guess it¡¯s a little too late to start now.¡± Julianne responded with a sad smile. Zadia had begun to recall her previous interactions with Julianne, she realize she only asked her to teach her swordsmanship. Other than training she had never really bothered to try to get close to Julianne, but they still had a strong bond. Thanks to Julianne constantly worrying, protecting, and teaching her. ¡°It¡¯s fine¡ I was just surprised, I actually like your hugs.¡± Zadia says with a shy smile as she gives out the very first hug she has ever given to anyone. It felt weird at first but that feeling quickly disappeared, as Julianne returns her feelings with a hug tighter than before. Elda who watched it all unfold felt a little out of place, but nevertheless she smiled at the scene. As Zadia and Julianne finally separated after a couple minutes, Julianne was left with a happy but sad expression. As Zadia, having said her goodbyes, left in a blight mood. Zadia had swiftly avoided crowds while making her way to the Eastern Gate. Which is where she needed to go to get to the tomb. At first she had doubted Earth when he said she would know where the tomb will be located when she woke up, but her doubts were quelled when she somehow knew the tomb was located in the forest of the dead. Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. As she left the east gates, she noticed the territory to the east had a lot less greenery. She walked for five hours before coming across the forest of the dead. It had numerous dead and dying trees, with thick fog covering the area. She had also heard groans coming out of the forest, which she concluded to be the dead. Zadia had quite a few run-ins with several skeletons along the way, but it wasn¡¯t anything she couldn¡¯t handle. She took confident steps as she walked in. After entering the forest, she had been looking walking around for three hours, getting closer with each step while she had decimated the countless undead along the way. ¡°Hmm¡ it should be around here.¡± Zadia talks to herself as she observes her surroundings, around her were the crushed bones of 40 skeletons. The armour of the skeletons varied from leather, iron, and steel. As she takes a closer look she notices a small entrance, covered with mold and dirt. She sent her blade hurling towards the entrance with a slash that was so quick, it created a gust of wind tearing through all the debris. She walked in slowly with her blade readied. She assumed it would be empty since she didn¡¯t hear any mention about the tomb having a guardian, but something was off oddly enough. As she walked around for five minutes she came across a massive stone door. The height of it was three times her size. She lets out a deep sigh, relaxing herself for a moment. ¡°This must be it.¡± Zadia says anxiously as her foot is sent blasting through the door causing them to fly open. She rushes the door quickly, leaping forward with immense speed. She pauses for a moment and looks around. Then she saw it, the ring, it was in front of a massive carving of a dragon which had a menacing glaze. The ring was a golden one with carvings of swords shown on it. As Zadia moved closer to retrieve the ring, she felt the ground start to quake. Dust and debris came crashing down around her. Zadias eyes scoured the room quickly to find the source of the quake, when her eyes laid upon the stone dragon that started to move. It made slow but powerful movements as it awoken. Immediately Zadia swoosh in and her sword rain downwards towards the dragons head, leaving a cut on its right eye. The dragon roared a terrifying roar that sent a powerful gust of wind smashing against Zadia. The roar created intense violent winds as it sent her hurling backwards. ¡°Argh¡ how strong is that thing?¡± Zadia manages to barely land on her feet. She steadies herself as she charges again with increased speed and focus. The dragon glares her down as his majestic wings swung open creating a massive gust of wind that violently destroys the entrance of the tomb, it had also caused Zadia to be thrown back clashing against the wall, right of the demolished doors. Zadia removes herself from the wall which the dragon had imprinted her on. ¡°How can I beat that thing?¡± Zadia groans holding her sword with slightly trembling hands. The Dragon had then turned his cold glaze on her, and sent a powerful roar along with the flapping of his mighty wings. Sending the most devastating wind, demolishing the building and hurling debris towards her. The stone ceiling crashed down onto her, as debris came flying towards her. She tried her best to dodge most of it, but there was too much as she tried. She was hit repeatedly from all sides her arms and legs becoming bruised and cut. Blood gushed out of her as she tried to remained standing, she was hit by a massive stone block before she was knocked down. Her vision became blurry, as she laid there in pain. That¡¯s when she saw a small glow, when she focused her eyes more. She saw it was the ring, it was also sent flying towards her in the dragons¡¯ last attack. As her vision starts to fade she reaches for the ring and puts it on, she than passes out from the pain. The ring glows as it envelopes Zadia who was now unconscienced, making her entire body glow. Blood like red flows out of the ring, forming a massive suit of full plated red armor. Her body had turned into a massive set of crimson armor. The armor started to move standing up. ¡°Ahh¡ I wanted to surprise you.¡± A voice emerge from the armor. ¡°You, lost to this?¡± The voice says in a relaxed tone as the dragon roars at it. The Crimson armor creates a red sword out of thin air. ¡°Let¡¯s make this quick.¡± The armor casually slashes the air, which creates its own gust of wind that was razor sharp, which decimates the stone dragon along with what was left of the building. ¡°Well, we still have 24 hours.¡± The voice says in a cheerful tone as the armor creates an exit out of the tomb. ¡°Lets¡¯ have some fun¡ partner.¡± The armor disappears into the exit. Chapter 9: A heroes potential The misty desolate forest, had dangers that scared off any lone adventurer and provided a challenge to any experience group of them. Deep within was someone easily soaring through the trees, cutting down the inhabitants of the forest of the dead with great speed, it was a shiny bright red suit of armor. The armor had an intricate gold trim, with a golden dragons head carved in the center of the chest piece. The sword the armor had carried was a red 2 handed sword with a black hilt, which was equipped to its back. The armor on the legs and arms moved smoothly and gave excellent protection, which was also laced with gold. The well designed expensive looking suit of armour was cutting its¡¯ way out of the forest. It had cleared out half of the undead in the forest in mere minutes, before arriving at the edge. Where it came upon a small girl with tears in her eyes. She had long brown hair reaching her waist and dark brown eyes. As the suit of armor walks up to the crying child with strong and loud steps. The clanking of the armor emitted strength, as it approaches with a powerful presence. The girl notices the blight crimson armor and had stopped her crying. She looked at it with amazement, seeing such a fancy suit made her speechless. She snaps back to reality when she realizes it had approached her. Holding back her tears, she pleaded to it with a request. ¡°Please! T-there are monsters attacking my village! My parents are still there!¡± The girl pleaded as tears begin to roll down her eyes yet again. The suit of armor kneelt on one leg to face her, now looking at each other face to helmet. The armor gave the girl a sense of security with its impressive aura, as she started to calm down. ¡°I will save your family and village.¡± A calm voice emerged from the armor. It seemed gentle and kind, but there was no expression shown. The little girl had half expected for the helmet to be taken off, but her expectations were at fault. The armor rose up from his knee and started to turn and head in the direction of the village. As it did so, the girl spoke up with admiration in her voice. ¡°I-I¡¯m, Sarah! Can, I know you name?¡± Sarah shied away with a slight blush, as she glanced back up for an answer. The armor turned slowly facing her, as it spoke up. ¡°I¡¯m Earth, it¡¯s quite a usual name. Isn¡¯t it?¡¯ Earth spoke with a casual tone, as he turns back around to head off towards the village. Sarah who was behind him, stared at him with deep respect. As he trotted off towards the village, but for normal people his speed was incredible. In Sarah¡¯ eyes he just vanished into thin air, leaving no trace. ¡°woah¡¡± Sarah muttered in amazement. She started rushing to the direction of her village as well, wanting to see Earth in action. Moving easily with amazing speed, Earth passed through all sorts of terrain within minutes. He had run-ins with several undead easily exterminating them in seconds as he slices through them along the way. In his mind he thought about the run-ins with the undead and it made him realize that the reason the undead were attacking the village, is because they were just running away from a greater threat, it was him. He had single handily annihilated most of the undead populace in the forest. When in the forest Earth had notice that the encounters with undead became fewer and fewer as he proceeded towards the direction out of the forest, it was all thanks to him that the undead were leaving the forest. He unknowingly herded the undead out of the forest, which was the reason he had saw a sudden decrease of undead encounters. To the undead, Earths¡¯ very presence was a presence that was so intimidating they decided to avoid him, as he had been slaughtering them all. As he continued onward Earth had noticed smoke in a distance which made him increase his speed. In the next brief moments he had terminated several undead as he closed in to the village, where the villagers were defending a big house, which seemed to belong to the village leader. They had blockade the door, and had men with sticks defending the windows. Further inside were the women watching over the children. The village was infested with undead, but they weren¡¯t all roaming around in one place. This was no problem for Earth, he had already killed them in the thousands while he was still in the forest, and he had also dealt with all the undead along the way here. Earth had suddenly appeared behind the undead horde that was unleashing chaos on the villagers defending the big house. The house was built on a small hill which was now littered with undead. Earth attracted the attention of the men who were defending the windows of the house. The house had been surrounded by 100 or so undead but they seem to have not noticed him, on the other hand they seem to have been more focus on killing the easier prey. The villagers on the hill had begun to call out to Earth, who was standing a short distance behind the horde. ¡°Hey you! Get out of there!!¡± ¡°Wait! Look at what he¡¯s wearing, he must be strong! Help us!¡± One of the men concluded that Earth was some one that had skills that were excellent, judging from the armor he wore. In this world you either had to be rich or strong to have the means to get a full set of plated armor. Most adventurers never make it big, the few that do, don¡¯t usually go out and buy a full set. Earth reaches to his back for his sword, he catches the attention of several undead who were at the back of horde. They came in charging from eight different directions, four on his right and four on his left side. Earth rockets in to his right side, his charge meeting them first, as his slash cuts through all of them. The slash was so powerful it sent a razor sharp wind cutting through the undead behind the initial four. He then vanishes, emerging to the right slashing those four with even greater speed, eliminating a chunk of the undead along with them. The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. The undead that were at the front of the horde have begun to notice Earth. Who had killed half of them within moments, he casually walked through them with great battle prowess. Tearing through their armor like wet pieces of paper. The villagers were in awe as they watched the spectacle every time Earth swung his sword he would kill at least ten of them. The undead were nothing but numbers that added to his kill count. The villagers had become more relaxed and some even started cheering, even before the battle was done. The villagers were now safe, now that the reminder of the undead horde turned their attention to Earth. After several more minutes, Earth had destroyed all the undead that remained, there was nothing left except for their corpses. Earth was now standing in front of the big house containing the villagers with his back turn to them, under his feet were numerous corpses, broken armor, swords, and limbs. The villagers silently came out of the house, still in shock. Some started to admire him, some respected, others did both. A tall man with well-built muscles approached to greet him. Thanks to this form, Earth was tall enough see over him, the height also gave him a more intimidating look. ¡°My thanks to you adventurer! We wouldn¡¯t have been able to get out of that mess in one piece if it wasn¡¯t for you!¡± The man expresses his gratitude with sincerity, as others behind him follow suit. The children where all showing their excitement on seeing Earth, they all have started looking up to him. ¡°It¡¯s no problem.¡± Earth says with a relaxed tone. The villagers didn¡¯t know why an undead army just appeared out of nowhere and were still confused about how it happen, Earth on the other hand had no intention of telling them he was responsible. The villagers had offered to reward him, but he wasn¡¯t interested and was about to leave for the capital. At that moment Sarah had approached him with her parents, to give him their thanks once more. ¡°Thank you for saving my parents.¡± Sarah says with utmost respect, as Earth pets her, than continuing on his way. Once again he seemingly vanished into thin air, as he was headed towards the capital, but decided to wait before entering. ¡°She should be waking up right now.¡± Earth finds a spot underneath a tree with greenery surrounding it, as he leisurely laid on his back. -Zadia POV- Three hours has passed since Zadia had fought the stone dragon, the pain she had to endure was too much for her causing her to faint. She had slowly started to awaken, realizing all of her pain seemed to have faded. She opened her eyes slowly, but notices she couldn¡¯t mover her body. [Huh? Why can¡¯t I move?] ¡°It¡¯s simple, because I¡¯m in control of your body right now.¡± A voice emerged from her mouth but it sounded different from her voice. The voice was very familiar than it clicked in her head. [Earth? Why are you processing my body? And why is my body different?] Zadia pelted earth with a barrage of questions. Earth ignores Zadias frustration and leisurely starts talking. ¡°I¡¯ll start from the beginning, I had forgotten to tell you about a heroes potential.¡± Earth gave out a deep sigh as he told Zadia what made heroes so special. Its true heroes start out the same as others, but heroes can pass a limit that those with normal souls can¡¯t. When Earth told Zadia the dragon hero was 3 times stronger than her, he meant his soul was 3 times bigger. The size of a soul shows how powerful someone can be, in other words how much potential someone had. A heroes¡¯ soul is six times bigger than a normal soul, which means heroes can access more power. Which means an average person can only access 5 percent of their true potential, above average 10 percent, and excellent fighters like Julianne can access 25 percent of their true potential. A regular hero can reach 30 percent of their true strength. The dragon heroes¡¯ soul could reach 90 percent. At 50 percent a hero changes into a more powerful form Of course the other gods reincarnated their heroes into more powerful beings to allow them to become stronger a lot faster. The weakest dragon was at 15 percent, average dragon 20 percent, above average 30 percent and so on. It all depended on the size of their souls, Zadia soul had multiply by five merging her soul with another¡¯s that was powerful, reaching 150 percent. Which allowed her body to be able to harbor Earth for 24 hours, but any longer than that and she would die. Zadia as she was right now could only use 50 percent of her potential of 150 percent with the help of the ring, it was better than her 20 percent from before. Earth had mention to her if she increases and uses her potential fully at 200 percent she would become a demi-god. An average god would be 300 percent and so on, but Earth never mention how powerful he was. Earth made Zadia realize that she had power but didn¡¯t know how to use it fully. Earth could only enter her body now because the soul merging had temporary allowed the use of her full power, and the reason why Earth was possessing her, was because he could use her souls¡¯ potential of 150 percent correctly and wanted to show her how powerful she really was. The power he had been using up to now had all belonged to her. It was to motivate her, without him actually saying it. ¡°Hmm¡ shall we go find some fun in the capital?¡± Earth gets up slowly as he speaks in a mischievous tone. [F-fun?] Zadia thought nervously ¡°Well, lets¡¯ get going.¡± Earth changes back to his casual tone. Chapter 10: Earths Fame Earth paraded through the gates into the capital, which caught the attention of many people nearby and afar. Thanks to the armor he wore he was the center of attention where ever he went. He had went roaming around the entire capital, including the thug infested slums which he had unknowing beaten up known criminals that tried rob him with superior numbers. He took his time examining everything, such as armor, people, and buildings. During his small adventures Earth was approached by a number of women trying to flirt with him, and a number of men that picked a fight with him. He had either just ignored or dealt with most of them as he continue on his exploring. While Earth was on his little adventure Zadia who was being controlled, wasn''t enjoying the fact that Earth was leisurely strolling around in her body and was criticizing him. [Earth! I thought we needed to warn the capital of the impending attack!! What are you doing!?] Earth approaches an impressive building with several windows outside, inside were book shelves that seem to number in the hundreds. The impressive building was a library that had a well-designed exterior and interior. It had piqued Earths interest, and he became curious on what the humans had written. ¡°Oh, that¡ There wasn¡¯t really any need to warn them. Remember? They have the best rangers which means, a bunch of dragons flying through the air. Would be pretty much be impossible for them not to spot. I thought you were just humoring me, believing in such a blatant lie. How would this country survive if it could not see such a large number of dragons passing their borders? Especially when the dragons aren¡¯t even trying to be covert.¡± Earth uncaring answers back as he enters the library. Passing by the awoken librarian, who didn¡¯t seem to care enough to bother them, he just gave them a glance then returned to sleeping. [So¡ what was the point of the getting the ring?] Zadia becoming annoyed, having been tricked so easily ¡°Isn¡¯t it oblivious? To spend time with my favorite partner!¡± Earth mentions as he heads to one of the wooden shelves located in the far back. The center of the library had 30 aisles, with books to the far right and far left. There was also a second floor and a back wall filled with books. What connected the second floor with the first floor was a single ladder against the wall. [Is that the real reason? Forget it. I have a feeling your just going to avoid it.] Zadia concluded in frustration. Earth was enjoying himself, as he was immersed in reading the books that he found in the library. He had been ignoring all of Zadias¡¯ complaints, while he had been reading. So Zadia had given up on making him respond to her, instead Zadia had started to noticed that Earth seemed to be waiting for something. ¡°Hmm¡ it¡¯s almost time.¡± Earth casually informs Zadia [Almost time for what?] While Earth was reading, a group of three men in chainmail had entered the library. They looked around seemingly searching for someone, until they laid their eyes on Earth. They started heading towards Earth with quick steps, it seemed like they were in a hurry. Zadia noticed these men wore the armor of the full-fledged members of the Order of the White Knights. The one who led the group, was a man with black hair and brown eyes. He had a regular build and was shorter than Zadias current form, which Earth was controlling. ¡°You are the one named Earth? Correct?¡± The man announced as he approached, Earth closes his book and turns to face him. His presence intimidated the three as he faced them. ¡°I am. How can I help you?¡± Earth responds while he turns to place the book back on the shelf. The knights glanced at one another, before the man in front speaks up. ¡°I''ve been sent here personally, by the request of the king to recruit you in aid to our great kingdom.¡± The man says proudly ¡°I¡¯m not interested in being recruited, but I¡¯ll at least hear what he has to say.¡± Earth stated, redirecting himself, he headed towards the door leading out of the library. The men were a bit shocked to see him react so calmly. They followed him out in confusion, while Earth stood in front of the library. A crowd had gather outside, they had gathered in curiosity to see why the White Knights had entered the library. Some of them knew the reason and cheered when Earth had appeared. Apparently rumors of a hero in red armor saving a village nearby had begun to spread. Also among those rumors were ones about him bravely patrolling around the slums, knocking out criminals that were later imprison by the city guard. Zadia was shocked on how Earth rose to fame quickly within the capital. She was a bit annoyed by the fact. ¡°Umm¡ We will take you to the king then. Allow us to lead the way.¡± The men had suggested as they took Earth to a small carriage, with two strong horses pulling on it. Earth got in with the leader of the men as the other two sat out in front. The carriage had started moving as people got out of its way. The ride was bumpy at first, but it soon smoothed over. The knight that sat across of Earth, stared at Earth with curiosity. Eyeing his armor, he was impressed by it and seemed to have showed him sighs of respect. ¡°It most have taken a lot of hard work.¡± The knight said in admiration. ¡°No, not at all.¡± Earth responded casually as he turned his head staring outwards. Looking at the surroundings they were passing by. An hour had passed and they had arrived at a large wooden gate leading to an enormous building. That towered over the capital. This building had its¡¯ own walls within the walls of the capital. Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit. The Guards standing guard on the top of the walls sent a signal to open the gate. After a few more moments the gate started to open slowly. ¡°Here we are.¡± The knight breaks the silence as the carriage approaches the main doors of the building, In front of it were 10 knights standing in rolls of five facing each other. The knight gets out of the carriage, Earth follows closely behind. They walked into a huge building with walls that had delicate designs and expensive artistry. The floor they walked on was a smooth red rug, with designs knitted in them. While admiring the scenery the knight took them deeper in, to two wooden doors decorated in gold. The two guards standing by the door opens it as the knight steps inside. Earth followed him in, seeing a spacious place with four chairs directly across the doors. The two chairs in middle were biggest, seated there was a man and women with grey hair, who were the king and queen. Next to the two of them on the right was a beautiful young girl around the age of sixteen and on the left was a boy who was younger at the age of thirteen. All around the sides were nobles wearing their fanciest garments, it seemed that this was a special occasion. They all had started to whisper, many of them were already impressed by the armor and its design. It was really one in a kind with its unique appearance. Zadia was amazed by how grand the throne room was. She let out thoughts of excitement which were all heard by Earth. As they approached the knight bowed to the king and took his leave, stepping aside. Earth was now standing before the king and had all eyes on him, Zadia felt uncomfortable making her glad she wasn¡¯t alone. The king eyed Earth, letting out a smile. ¡°So you are the hero that defeated the undead laying waste to one of our villages, and the one that has helped captured several criminals that evaded the city guards for months.¡± The king showing his admiration as he spoke. ¡°I am.¡± Earth said uninterested while he observed the room, he noticed the daughter was staring at him intensely. The nobles showing envy, and the son seemingly annoyed by Earths presence. ¡°So what if he is?¡± The kings¡¯ son sitting next to him rudely interrupted. The king glared at him, which made him go quiet. The kings¡¯ daughter on the other hand seemed ashamed to be related to the boy. Earths observation skills were mostly if not always spot on. ¡°Please excuse him. Anyways, onto important matters. What I¡¯m about to say may come as a shock to you, but our kingdom is about to be invaded by an army of dragons.¡± The king declared sternly. Earth had thought about acting surprised but didn''t want to put any effort in it. So he just stood there unfazed. ¡°Ok.¡± Earth said calmly he didn''t bothered to read the mood and answered uncaringly. This had shocked the king and the other nobles, they started to misunderstand and admired him more. Thinking that this was the courage of a true hero. Earth on the other hand just wanted to speed things up as fast as possible. ¡°Hahah! Your courage is outstanding! Here I am being shaken by the mention of a dragon, but you aren''t even fazed by an invasion of them! Hahah!¡¯ The kings¡¯ laugh filled the room, Earth was getting extremely bored of the conversation. Still he needed them to help Zadia kill the dragon hero. Since after the 24 hours is up, he can only give her advice through her dreams. Zadia will only be able to change into her armor form then on, since she hasn¡¯t yet reach her potential of 150. Earth finally spoke out, offering a plan of action. ¡°The dragons are being led, if we go while they are still building their army. We can kill their leader and the rest will leave, they only follow the strong.¡± Earth proposed, the king thought about it and called out a ranger who seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, but in fact Earth had notice all of them that were hidden in the room. He was the only one to have noticed them, all 20 of them. They were Rowiens Devil Rangers, Earth could tell they were quite skilled but were no match for him of course. The ranger the king had called gave his opinion on Earths proposal. He seemed to agree with Earths plan. The reason why the king has the rangers give their opinion on matters of war, was because they were masters of gathering information. The ranger had told the king the habits of the dragons, how many there were, and how many there were going to be. Also how many more would arrive next week and the week after. He suggested they leave as soon as possible with tomorrow being the soonest. Since they could easily kill one dragon compared to an army. The ranger had assured the king, that the dragons would leave after their leader was slain. Dragons have a lot of pride which means that they wouldn¡¯t follow anyone weaker than them. So fights would break out after their leader is killed. The king hearing all this came to a conclusion. ¡°Bring me the kingdoms best! We are sending to them to end this war before it starts!¡± The king declared. Whispers emerged once again, they all started talking about strong warriors inside their capital. Juliannes¡¯ name appeared in dozens of conversations. [Earth! They are going to send Julianne! She could die!] Zadia tries to get his attention in panic. ¡°Well, than protect her.¡± Earth responded [H-how?] ¡°Easy, get stronger.¡± Earth responds in his usual calm tone. Chapter 11: The Group During the meeting with the king, Earths plan was agreed upon and the kingdom had started sending messengers to get the five best warriors in the entire kingdom. Any bigger than the five and they would have had problems added on, hiding their presence from the dragons would become much more difficult. They were to kill the leader of the dragons and after that pull out immediately. After the meeting was over, Earth had decided to bring Zadias body back in front of her home. He then had left her body, which cause the control of the body to return to Zadia. The red plated armor that she had on, had disappear from her body along with the red sword that was created by Earth in armor form. Her form changed back to normal donning on her previous gear. Everything had return to normal, but oddly enough the worn-out gear she had worn when she fought the stone dragon was repaired. Her injuries also had disappeared no bumps or bruises, and her sword was even sharper than before. -Zadias Pov- ¡°That¡¯s really odd.¡± Zadia had a confused look, while scanning her entire body in search for wounds. ¡°Welcome back Master!¡± A cheery voice emerged from the direction of her home. Startle she glances upward to see where it came from. ¡°M-master?¡± Zadia responds with more confusion. All her life no one has ever called her master only madam or mistress and so forth. She didn¡¯t know any one that would call her that, but the voice sounded familiar. ¡°Prina?¡± Zadia calls out in a daze. She notices Prina in some brown rags bowing. ¡°Yes master?¡± Prina responds with a warm smile. She remembers Julianne telling her she would train Prina on how to be a proper slave, but this isn¡¯t what she had in mind. She was expected her to be more like a sarcastic maid at most, that didn¡¯t like following orders or doing chores. The Prina standing before her seems completely different than before. She seems to now be the type of slave that wants to please her master. Which made this extremely awkward for Zadia who knew her before she became like this. ¡°What happen to you?¡± Zadia asks with a little worry in her tone. ¡°The Great One has taught me many things while you were away.¡± Prina smiles brightly Zadia had only been away for two days. Two days ago Prina had started her slave training, Julianne had done too good of a job. Zadia began to wonder what kind of training would change a person so much. ¡°Prina. Would you sell me if given the chance to get away with it?¡± Zadia asks curiously, she was seriously thinking there was no way Prina would change that much. ¡°No. If you weren¡¯t here there would be no point for my existence.¡± Prina responded with a happy tone. ¡°R-really?¡± Zadia replied dumbfounded. Zadia was shocked to see that Prina had change so much so fast. She had become even more scared of Julianne than before. Ignoring the new Prina, Zadia had continue past her heading towards the entrance. Prina had followed her behind closely like a little puppy. As she approached her room she ran across Julianne, who seemed to be worried about something. ¡°Is something wrong?¡± Zadia calls out to Julianne who had been waiting for her, for the past two days. ¡°Welcome back. Zadia.¡± Julianne smiles turning to the side to face Zadia. Prina had been following close behind Zadia but was ignored the entire time. ¡°I have something to tell you. I¡¯m going to be gone for a week, so I won¡¯t be able to teach you. Elda is also skilled in swordsmanship, she will teach you in my place.¡± Julianne replies with a sad smile. Zadia had already knew about this, it was because of Earths plan. She knew full well that Julianne would had been selected to go kill the dragon hero. Zadia wanted to go but doubted Julianne would decide to bring her along. If she was old enough it wouldn¡¯t be a problem, unfortunately she is only twelve, but she didn¡¯t want to give but so easily. ¡°Can I go with you?¡± Zadia asks knowing the most likely answer. ¡°No. I can¡¯t take you with me.¡± Julianne answers back sternly. ¡°I¡¯ve gotten stronger though!¡± Zadia responds with seriously. ¡°Zadia¡¡± Juliann lets out a deep sigh. ¡°If you can beat me in a duel. I¡¯ll take you.¡± Julianne stated with a serious expression. ¡°Fine. I¡¯ll prove it.¡± Zadia stated as she marched towards the training hall. Prina followed behind happily. Zadia had patiently awaited Julianne inside the training hall, Prina had hurried ahead of her to present her a sword. Julianne then came in moments later, with a serious look on her face. She wasn¡¯t planning on going easy on Zadia this time. Since she knows full well that she won¡¯t be able to protect her as much as she would like to on the battlefield. With this in mind Julianne had no intention of making it easy for Zadia. ¡°Lets¡¯ begin.¡± Julianne announces, when she suddenly appears in front of her Zadia slashing downwards. Zadia had just gotten off a parry, when Julianne vanishes appearing behind her. She launches a kick to Zadias back, sending her rocketing forward. ¡°eeRGGggGH!¡± Zadia groans while she braces her legs for landing, Julianne emerge in the corner of her eye thrusting her sword forward when her legs hit the floor. Zadia dodges just in time, sending a counter to her ribcage. Julianne leans back dodging while firing her foot upward as she leaned. Zadia dodges leaping backwards with a speedy escaped. She gets back into a fighting stance when she notices Julianne putting away her sword with a smile. ¡°Ok. You can come.¡± Julianne shows a gentle expression as she pets Zadias head. ¡°When did you get so strong? Two days ago, you wouldn¡¯t have been able to dodge any of that. Ha. I guess you really are growing up fast.¡± Julianne gave slightly sad tone mixed in with pride. If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. Zadia was still a little disappointed in her skills. She was supposed to be stronger than this but she still lacked any real experience, besides the stone dragon incident. That was the only real fight she had been in and she had lost. She decided to cheer herself up by reminding herself she did get stronger at the very least. The next morning Zadia waited eagerly by the front door as Julianne came down the stairs. She had been excited to meet the other four members of the hunt for the dragon hero and was in a good mood. Prina couldn¡¯t come even though she had asked repeatedly, she had found a new passion that consisted of serving her new masters. It was all forced into her by Juliannes personal tutorship. ¡°You ready to go Zadia?¡± ¡°I am.¡± Zadia responded with a smile The meeting place was the Adventurers ¡®Guild, once they gathered there they would head out soon after. It was a place where they could get acquainted with each other, like many other adventurers have done so in the past. Upon arriving at the Guild they saw four distinct people that stood out from the rest of the adventurers in the guild. They all had strong presences, which would have explained why the usual rowdy adventurers¡¯ guild was extra quiet on this particular day. Three men and one woman, there were two men that had solid steel armor with steel swords. The two of them appear to have been the best of the White Knights Order. While the woman had green hood on with leather armor on .She had a strong looking short bow equip with a couple of sharp daggers to the sides. The man that stood next to her wore a mask that covered the bottom half of his face, with two longswords to his side and a long bow with arrows on his back. The two across from the knights seemed to have been Devil Rangers. Julianne began to approach them with Zadia close behind. ¡°What the? What is with the little girl?¡± One of the knights with brown hair stares towards Zadia. ¡°She is my daughter and your comrade.¡± Julianne declared clearly with a firm voice. ¡°Comrade? You mean we¡¯re taking her with us? What do you think this is huh!?¡± One of the knights blurted out in anger. The knights were furious while the rangers just stayed quiet. The two rangers didn¡¯t seem bother it at all, instead they seemed to be welcoming her. ¡°¡Let¡her come¡¡± The female ranger finally spoke up while staring intently at Zadia. ¡°Julianne is the strongest amongst us. Do you really think she would bring the girl along if she wasn¡¯t at least strong?¡± The other ranger stated as he stared the knights down. ¡°S-still.¡± ¡°I¡¯m¡ Dana.¡± Dana said clearly after approaching Zadia. She had already reach out her hand and started to pet Zadia. Zadia was confused not knowing what to do she responded. ¡°I-I¡¯m Zadia.¡± Zadia responded in a hurry, which causes Dana to misunderstand her. ¡°Do¡you hate it?¡± Dana responded in a sad voice while still petting her slowly. ¡°Not really¡just a little shocked is all.¡± Zadia whisper, Dana hearing it continues petting her with happier motions. The two knights were all completely speechless, the other ranger upon seeing this just lets out a deep sigh. It had seemed like he was use to this kind of behavior from Dana. Julianne who stood next to Zadia was glad to see Dana and Zadia already getting along. She lets out a small smile but she still wanted to start beating on the knights every time she glanced at them. ¡°I¡¯m Ray, Danas partner. Those two over there are Eric and Nick.¡± ¡°Nice to meet you all.¡± Zadia greeted them, during the introductions Dana had walked behind her and hugged her out of nowhere. ¡°This¡is mine.¡± Dana declared boldly causing Zadia to panic a little and Julianne to get Jealous. Dana had misinterpreted the introductions as them trying to take claim of Zadia. She had glared back at Ray in response. ¡°I¡¯m sorry Dana, but I¡¯m watching over her as her mother.¡± Julianne claims proudly ¡°Then¡I can be¡ her sister¡¡± ¡°I-impossible. I have to take care of her! She doesn¡¯t like strangers that much.¡± Julianne stated smiling. ¡°We¡are sisters¡¡± Dana replies in an unwavering tone. Julianne stared at her with her hand on her sword. ¡°Umm¡excuse me you two but why don¡¯t you both take care of her?¡± Ray offered a compromise, trying to calm the two down before things get out of hand. The knights had decided to stay quiet the entire time since Dana and Julianne were emitting a powerful aura. They were fearful of them and decided not to anger them. The entire guild had also been watching them in silence they had become even more scared of the group, as they averted their eyes. ¡°Okay. Now that every ones here lets head off.¡± Ray declared loudly as he marched off to the exit of the adventurers¡¯ guild all alone. He turned around noticing that no one had even followed him. ¡°Dana?¡± Ray comes back to see a scene where Dana still clinging on Zadia and Julianne is trying to get Zadia out of her grasp. ¡°This group. Is going to save the kingdom? Well, I better start drinking again.¡± Ray rubs his head stressfully. He cried a little on the inside as well --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Authors Note: I had been making another story called "Arla the forced hero." It''s still on chapter one though. That is why I was late with this. Chapter 12: Dragon Confrontation. ¡°Zadia¡.want to¡hold hands¡¡± Dana slowly reaches out her hand. ¡°Dana we have to focus. Leave that for later.¡± Ray replied with sigh as he scouted ahead of the group. They were in the forest of the dead, but they had not encounter any undead. This is of course was because Earth had eliminated almost all of the undead within the forest. Beyond this forest was several small villages and beyond that is the border where the dragon hero was gathering his forces. Since their departure it only had been five hours from when they left the capital. ¡°This is odd, it has been awhile since we came across any undead.¡± Ray stated as he observed the surroundings. ¡°Hah. Maybe they got scared and ran off. It just makes things easier for us. All we have to worry about now are those blasted dragons.¡± Eric spoke out in an arrogant tone. ¡°The undead seems to have been driven out of the forest which is odd. Well it¡¯s not all bad since we will have it easy up till the point we leave the forest.¡± Ray responded in a more relaxed tone after he concluded there was no danger. ¡°Dana, can you please stop being so touchy.¡± Ray instructed her after seeing her hugging Zadia yet again. He was getting annoyed by the fact no one seem to bother listening to him. After thinking for a moment he let out a sigh. ¡°Okay. We need to designate a leader. That way we can coordinate better.¡± Ray told them his thoughts making them all look at him in confusion. ¡°Ray¡aren¡¯t you¡leader?¡± Dana replied as if it was the natural choice. ¡°When did I say, I wanted to be leader. It¡¯s bothersome.¡± Ray responded waving her suggestion away with his hand. ¡°So let¡¯s make a vote who wants to make Julianne leader?¡± Ray asked No one raised their hand except for Ray. He threw his hand up voting for Dana, Zadia, Erick, and Nick but no one else did. Finally the last option the one he absolutely didn¡¯t want to mention. So he didn¡¯t until. ¡°I¡vote for¡Ray.¡± Dana replies raising her hand ¡°I also think he should lead.¡± Julianne nods in agreement Nick and Erick also shook their heads. Ray had started rubbing his head again getting another headache. ¡°Why does this always happen?¡± Ray mumbles as he continues onward. After reaching the end of the forest they made camp, since it was already dark out. The forest of the dead was huge, which prevented many invasions from the east. Since it was litter with undead it was the reason there was hardly any defenses there to protect them from invasion. The undead served as protection from any ground troops, but meaningless against dragons. Since they can simply fly over, having discover that there are no longer any undead Ray would have to report it. He was going to send a message as he passes one of the villages. The kingdom would then remove the forest and set up several outposts. The only defense they have on the east was a small outpost on the border. While they were camped Zadia had asked Dana to teach her how to shoot a bow correctly. She wanted to be able to have more versatility when fighting the dragon. Dana agreed to teach her and had asked Ray to make her a bow. Ray tried to refuse at first because he hated doing a lot of work but Dana forced it on him as usual. Dana had lent Zadia Rays bow, while Ray was working on hers. Ray was a perfectionist if he was going to do something he had to make it perfect, which is why he hated being forced to work. Even though he hated making the bow he made sure it was smooth, clean, and strong. ¡°Finished. Why do I always have to do these kind of things?¡± Ray lets out a depressed sigh. ¡°Ray¡you¡¯re finished?¡± Dana approached him taking the bow and left. Ray ignored her and just laid on his back relaxing. Zadia was shooting arrows into a tree, while Dana had been away. She had gotten better than she was previously extremely quick. Which wasn¡¯t much of a surprise since she had trained almost all her life with Julianne. ¡°Zadia¡your bow.¡± Dana holds out a quiver of arrows and the bow made by Ray. ¡°That¡¯s mine? Thank you Dana.¡± Zadia says excitedly as she took the bow. Seeing her reaction Dana instantly raises her arms expecting a hug, but Zadia had already turned around heading off to show Julianne. ¡°¡¡± Dana stood there alone with her arms out. Ray walked up next to her wondering what she was doing. ¡°Umm, Dana are you doing okay?¡± Ray asks curiously as Dana slowly puts her arms down. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ One day later. They arrive at the rocky plains just beyond Rowiens borders. They hid behind some huge rocks on a hill overlooking the plains. There were around twenty huge dragons laying out in the open between them and their target. The dragons showed they didn¡¯t care for concealment. They wanted to soar straight to the capital while letting everyone know they were coming. The reason this plan was good enough to give a go, is because the dragons are known to let their strongest take the best spot when resting. In this case it would be on the mountain overseeing the plains with a huge cave. This cave could hold more than one dragon however since dragons like to have plenty of room, they only saw it as enough room for one. Even if the leader didn¡¯t have the same views as the other dragons, if the most powerful dragon were to share its room with a weaker dragon it would show as a sign of weakness. If the other dragon was just as powerful the command would be split into two. This information was acquired by the Devil Rangers the masters of gathering Intel. If it weren¡¯t for them Earths plan would have been rejected. The reason why only five was the recommended amount was because they would have to sneak by all the sleeping dragons before climbing the mountain. They would be able to fight the dragon hero if they could get past the dragons first, the battle would be far away enough from the other dragons to go unnoticed. As long as they kept the dragon in the cave where the sound will be muffled. The details of the mission were all given out by Ray who was one of the Devil Rangers, Dana was a ranger too but she had remained quiet during the briefing. ¡°Okay since it looks like most of them are asleep. I suggest we move along the edges till we bypass them completely.¡± Ray whisper as he turns around to go in first. Dana followed along with Julianne. They motion the others to come when it was clear. They could hear the heavy breaths of the dragons as they tip toed past them. Some of them were still awake but didn¡¯t pay much attention to their surroundings showing off their arrogance. None of the dragons were on guard. The main reason for that was because they were some of the most feared creatures in the realm. Their only rivals of the sky were the griffons, who were only one third of their size, but moved around in larger packs. They experienced a few close calls but other than that made it safely to the mountain path. From this point on they would have no problem concealing themselves since they would be out of sight for the most part. After ten minutes of climbing up the mountain path. They come across the cave that was reported to be located there. Ray signaled them to halt before going in. ¡°I¡¯ll go in and fire the first shot and get its attention then move to the right.¡± Ray than instructs the others. ¡°Julianne you charge in to the left and Dana you support her. Nick and Eric you will guard Dana and Zadia.¡± ¡°Wait I can fight too.¡± Zadia interjected, Ray takes another deep sigh. ¡°Fine you¡¯ll charge in with me as support.¡± Ray announce rubbing his head again. Zadia nods her head in response. Ray and Zadia charge into the cave heading towards the right. Julianne and Dana charge to the left. Eric and Nick rushed in to support Dana and Ray. When they went in they didn¡¯t find anything. ¡°Wait. Where is the dragon?¡± Ray mutters while looking around. Nick and Eric started to relax a little and spoke out. You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story. ¡°Hah. Seems like the Devil Rangers were over exaggerated when people talked about their skills.¡± Eric smiles as he stares at Ray. ¡°No. It just means. The dragon isn¡¯t in its cave right now.¡± Ray starts to turn around to face the group. Nick and Eric were in the entrance of the cave. ¡°Nick, Eric get away from there now. We will set up an ambush.¡± As Ray faces his back on the two, he heard a squishing sound come from behind. Than a red liquid appear under his feet. He turned around immediately and leaped backwards. There stood a huge red dragon, with its foot on Nick and Eric. Their bodies were crushed but their limbs remained. ¡°Weak.¡± A booming voice emerge from the dragon. ¡°So I take that you are supposed to kill me? Are you heroes?¡± ¡°Go with the plan.¡± Ray ordered as he and Dana shot arrows. Zadia and Julianne charged in from different sides. Their blades and arrows were repelled by the dragons¡¯ scales, the dragon stood there unaffected. Zadia and Julianne took a leap back after their attack. Julianne left a small cut on his armor while Zadia only gave it a scratch. ¡°I guess you aren¡¯t heroes, so I¡¯ll just kill you quickly.¡± The dragon opens its mouth and breathes out roaring flames. Dana and Ray took cover behind the rocky walls. Julianne and Zadia had dodge it by leaping to the sides. ¡°Dana. You and I will aim for the eyes. Julianne and Zadia keep it busy.¡± Ray barked out the orders, catching the dragons¡¯ attention. The dragon than turned its head to Ray. ¡°Do you think I¡¯m a fool!? Then I will finish you two first.¡± The dragon fired its breath towards Ray and Dana, ignoring Julianne and Zadia. During its attack Julianne charged in striking its right eye, as Zadia charges its left. Seeing them from the corners of his eye the dragon violently shakes his head from side to side, while still breathing fire. Since it was focused more on Julianne, Zadias attack had landed blinding its left eye. The reason he had ignored Zadia was because even if it was an eye if the attack wasn¡¯t powerful enough it wouldn¡¯t affect him. He judge Zadia as weak since earlier she only laid a simple scratch which healed instantly. Her attack just now was more powerful than before, her previous attack wouldn¡¯t have affected him. He then started to regard Zadias strength but was confused on how a little girl could be this powerful. ¡°rawrrRRGGH!! You!¡± The Dragon glared at Zadia. He swung his tail towards Zadia, which had kicked up some debris. Zadia jumped out of its way just barely dodging it. Dana and Ray had decided to take out their melee weapons and charged at the dragon as well. ¡°Attack the left scale on its center, that¡¯s where its heart is. We need to break its armor first!¡± Ray informed the others as they all focused their attention onto the dragons¡¯ chest. ¡°Hmph. Do you really think it would be that easy?¡± The dragon smashes its tail against the walls of the huge cave. The caves entrance had collapsed and the room became pitch black. None of them could see. ¡°How is your aim now!? How will you stop this rampaging dragon now!?¡± The Dragon spoke emitting his rage. He couldn¡¯t believe that they would speak as if he was someone they could handle at their level. It ticked him off to think that they thought they stood a chance against him. The only light that ignited the dark cave was the dragons¡¯ fiery breath and his menacing eyes. He sent flames roaring out of his mouth. The party had taken cover when the dragon had started hitting the walls with its tail. ¡°Ray¡¡± Dana called out to Ray who had been quiet as they were being attacked with fire. That lit up the entire cave. She than notice Ray making torches right next to her. ¡°Dana and I will support. Julianne and Zadia you will need to be the ones to break through his armor.¡± Ray instructed as he picked up a torch lighting it. ¡°Okay. Now!¡± Ray order as the dragons attacked stop. Julianne and Zadia charged in, with Dana and Ray following behind. Ray had a torch in one hand and a weapon in the other. Dana came out with her bow and shot at the dragon. Zadia and Julianne moved along the sides hidden. The dragon sent another breath of fire towards Dana and Ray almost immediately. ¡°Cling¡± ¡°Clang¡± As the dragons¡¯ breath lit up the room Julianne and Zadia came into view as they stuck at his chest several times in succession. Their strikes were fast and powerful shattering the dragons¡¯ armor. However before they could end it with a finishing blow the dragon directed its breath downward planning to burn them along with his exposed flesh. Julianne and Zadia had dodge it, Zadia had received slight burns for being a little slower. ¡°Ray! Dana! His armor is exposed! Shoot him!¡± Zadia shouted as she glanced back. When she did she saw a charred Ray who was dragged to the side by Dana who also had some burns. She wasn¡¯t in the condition to fight having her arms and legs burned. Dana was just sitting silently in cover with a dead Ray in her lap. Zadia and Julianne decided to try to take the dragon out with their swords but the dragon prevented them from getting any closer. Breathing fire every time they would approach. Zadia than realize she still had her bow equipped. ¡°Mom! I¡¯ll shoot it! Can you keep it focused on you!?¡± Zadia calls out to Julianne as she pulls out her bow. ¡°Hah. You think I would let you!?¡± The dragon turned its gaze towards Zadia but then Julianne charges in from the side. He then turns his head and fires his breath at Julianne in response. As he did Zadia shot multiple arrows at his chest three of them hitting. ¡°aaRRGH! How persistent!¡± The dragons¡¯ movements became slower and Zadia decided to charge in. Since she ran out of arrows her only option now was to use her sword. Julianne also charged in with her. Both of them striking his chest, blood began to drip from the dragons chest, as Julianne and Zadia leapt back. ¡°I will not be defeated by you!¡± The dragon roars in rage. The dragon started to go into a blind rage hitting the walls of the cave the only safe route to avoid the falling rocks was to go deeper into the cave. Julianne and Zadia retreated grabbing Dana who seemed to be lifeless. The roars of the dragon had continue to cease as they watched sharp spiky roof collapse onto him. His roars weakened as more massive rocks fell upon the room. After several more minutes the sounds of the collapsing building and roars of the dragon ceased. Zadia now turned her attention to Dana who seemed to have no more energy left in her. Dana burns weren¡¯t as bad as they thought and they had already wrapped her burns in bandages. ¡°Dana. We need to get out of here. Do you know a way out?¡¯ Zadia said in a worried tone. ¡°Ray¡knew¡¡± Dana replies with a hollowed expression. ¡°We should just keep going this way. I¡¯m sure it¡¯ll lead to a way out.¡± Julianne interjects trying to lighten the mood. She walked out in front while Zadia grabbed Danas hand walking next to her. They still had the torches Ray had made. He only use one in the fight, but he had made several of them and left them aside. After eight hours of walking inside the cave they could see light at the end. ¡°It¡¯s the exit.¡± Julianne announced as they all ran towards it. They had left the mountain, the exit they took put them a good distance away from the other dragons. It was all clear from here on out. ¡°I need to¡ report¡¡± Dana stated as she walked ahead, still holding Zadias hand. ¡°Umm¡Dana?¡± Zadia called out. She was just ignored so she just went along with it. Half of their party was dead, so it was better to just return home and train harder. Dana wasn''t moping as much as Zadia thought she would. When they were in the cave she could hardly move but now she seems back to normal. Zadia thought how could she remain herself after all that? ¡°I still have¡my sister¡¡±Dana replies as if she knew what Zadia was thinking Chapter 13: Nightmare training After the Zadia, Dana, and Julianne had killed the dragon the kingdom threw a festival. The group however wasn¡¯t in much of a cheery mood. Instead Dana went to report everything that went on in the mission, and Zadia went back to sparring with Julianne. It might have been a great victory for the kingdom but it was an eye opener for the group. Since apparently the dragon wasn¡¯t much older than Zadia. Ray had kept this information from Zadia and the rest so they wouldn¡¯t have underestimated it. Dana was the only other person that knew and had told Zadia and Julianne afterwards. Julianne was shocked to think that the dragon they fought wasn¡¯t a fully grown one. ¡°Cling¡± ¡°CLANG¡± Noises echoed into the halls of the mansion. The sources that made the echo came from Zadia and Julianne who had been practicing harder than before. They swung their blades at one another metal against metal. The clashing of their blades created sparks, their slashes became flashes and their sweat became the meaning of hard work. ¡°Good job Zadia. That¡¯s it for today.¡± Julianne pats her on the back as she makes her way to the weapon rack. The two had trained endlessly for eight hours for three weeks now since the fight with the dragon. They not only trained harder but they trained longer as well. Zadia was making her way back into her room tired from the long day she had. She not only trains with Julianne but trains by herself as well. She had also upped her solo training realizing her weakness. ¡°Good night.¡± Zadia mutters to herself. It had become a habit for Prina to sneak into her bed, since Zadia was always tired it was easy to do. So Zadia became use to waking up next to Prina, she had better things to do so she just ignored it. As she closed her eyes and went to sleep. She yet again became surrounded with a familiar space. ¡°Welcome back.¡± Earth waves as he greets her. ¡°What is it this time?¡± Zadia responds with dissatisfaction. ¡°Ahh¡I was going to personally train you too.¡± Earth responds shrugging his shoulders. ¡°T-train me? How? Why?¡± Zadia asks suspiciously ¡°Well, the other gods have gotten worried. Since my hero drew first blood. Which is fantastic for me but bad for you.¡± ¡°W-wait what do you mean bad for me?¡± Zadia questions in a worried tone. ¡°Well. I¡¯ll tell you later. Don¡¯t worry about it for now.¡± Earth responds with a friendly smile. ¡°Fine. Anyways why do the other gods hate you?¡± Zadia probes giving up on her previous question. ¡°Hmm¡ Well I own over 200 worlds and they own none. That could be a reason.¡± Earth replies tilting his head. ¡°No wonder they hate you.¡± Zadia gave a deep sigh. ¡°Well. I have my reasons¡Anyways this contest started thirty years ago. So you have competitors that have lived eighteen years more than you in this world. You are actually the youngest hero.¡± ¡°Wait. Thirty years and I took first blood?¡± Zadia asks in confusion ¡°They were all preparing their heroes to fight mine. Since I have won this kind of thing over 200 times in a roll. The only reason you lived this long is caused I hid you and I am still hiding you.¡± Earth stated with a mischievous smile. ¡°I-I see. Wait. Does that mean you let me get spotted by the dragon hero guy?¡± ¡°No. Well not the dragon hero. The god that was overseeing him, was the one who I purposely let spot you. He had knew you had more potential than his hero as soon as he saw your soul. So naturally he tried to get rid of you as soon as possible.¡± Earth replied uninterested in the topic. ¡°So. You can make me stronger than the other heroes with this training?¡± Zadia focuses back on the real issue. ¡°I¡¯m not making you stronger. You¡¯ll be doing that on your own. I¡¯m just providing you the means to do so. You will decide whether you want to be stronger than them or not.¡± Earth correcting Zadia ¡°Uhh¡okay?¡± Zadia tilts her head in confusion. ¡°Well. This training will train your mind solely. It will unlock your use of potential.¡± Earth mentions. ¡°Then I can use the crimson like armor from before? How did I change into that?" Zadia asks in interest. ¡°Well. That wasn¡¯t your hero form but it was the hero form of that women warriors¡¯ soul you had absorb. You have yet to learn how to activate your form.¡± Earth replied In actuality the women warrior was the one to have activated the hero form. Zadia didn¡¯t know that the soul still had a will before it became a part of her. The 30 percent from Zadia and the 120 percent from the women warrior allowed Earth to enter her body. The reason why the full potential of each soul was activated was because the souls were clashing with each other. ¡°So does that mean I can activate her form again?¡± ¡°No. Which is why I went around as Earth instead of Zadia.¡± Earth replied naturally The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. What Earth didn¡¯t mention was the two reasons he enter her body during the merging. One was so he could stop the other soul from completely taking over of Zadias body, crushing her will. Earth was weakening the will of the other soul and watching over the merging of the souls to make sure Zadias soul remained. Zadias soul was merging with a stronger soul, she in normal circumstances would have been consumed. Now that the soul was completely a part of her she no longer needed the ring which had contained the women warrior soul. This also meant that she was no longer in danger of being consumed. Also she now had to discover how to activate her true hero form. All the power that belong to the previous soul belong to her now. Zadia has access to 50 percent of that power but wasn¡¯t strong enough to bring it out. A hero first needs potential they are either born with it or they can merge with other souls. After potential has risen they then have to unlock that potential which is done through training your mind. To use it they will have to train their body to handle the power. Zadias body can¡¯t handle the 50 percent that is unlocked. Her body can only support 25 percent. Which is way the female warrior had activated her hero form to prevent her body from bursting. The second reason Earth entered her body was to motivate her through the display of power. Of course Earth found it interesting to toy with Zadia. So he never tells her everything. ¡°Those suitors wouldn¡¯t be a problem anymore in two years. At fourteen you will be a lot stronger than all of them, but I wonder¡ There is a problem¡ Your mother will think it is a good idea to send you to the academy if you win.¡± Earth replies crossing his arms. ¡°How is that a problem? Actually it makes more sense than anything else that has happen in my life so far.¡± Zadia replies not caring much about the decision. ¡°I need a hero not a schoolgirl. Anyways I already have a plan to get you out of that predicament.¡± Earth stated with a smile. ¡°I¡¯ll train my hardest for now, but if she wants me to go I¡¯m not saying no.¡± Zadia responds. ¡°Let us get started with your training.¡± Earth replied with a dark aurora. ¡°E-earth? W-what kind of training i-is this?¡± Zadia replied nervously ¡°Oh. It¡¯s nothing much just hellish training, it¡¯s really no big deal. You will just experience something similar to dying from extreme torture, but it¡¯s no problem since you won¡¯t actually die. Now let us begin I can only spare the next two years.¡± Earth responds casually emitting killing intent suffocating Zadia with immense pressure. Zadias knees began to tremble her body becoming numb. ¡°You crumble with this little pressure? We have a lot of work to do then. How will you protect your future sister?¡± Earth smiles ¡°S-sister? You mean Dana?¡± Zadia replies nervously, with her body still numb. ¡°Your mother may not have noticed yet but she is pregnant. Happened last week, well of course you wouldn¡¯t notice. Since you¡¯re always sleeping. With that amount of strength you can¡¯t protect anyone.¡± Earth gives a shrug as he turns away. Still emitting pressure. After a few moments. ¡°Hey. Where the hell are you looking? I¡¯m ready.¡± Zadia calls out to Earth. Earth turns around to see Zadias legs have stopped trembling and she had a serious look on her face. ¡°That¡¯s more like it. Partner.¡± Earth changes their surroundings to hellish looking world. This world had many disgusting looking creatures that were extremely massive in size. The place was filled with hellish fire, dark demonic terrain and skinless impaled corpses. There was a road paved with disturbing disfigured faces stitched into it along with the hellish walls and blood ridden areas with slimy guts smeared all over. Screams were heard from all over, it practically filled the air with despair. The monsters tore into each other as they came across one another, ripping one another apart limb from limb their blood gushing all over. The air was poisonous and the sky roared scorching heat. This was a world that gave no luxury to neither weak nor strong. ¡°Every night you will train here. Don¡¯t worry no matter how many times you die here. You would just wake up. So die to your hearts¡¯ content.¡± Earth casually informs Zadia as she slowly suffocates from the poisonous air. ¡°E-earth¡I c-can¡¯t b-breathe¡¡± Zadia calls out weakly. ¡°Don¡¯t worry partner you will get used to it in a week. I think. Well¡ I¡¯m not sure. We still have two years to find out though.¡± Earth casually scratches his head. ¡°D-damn¡¡± Zadia slowly closes her eyes. Moments later she wakes up grasping for air. ¡°HUuGHgghH.¡± Zadia slowly starts to calm herself down. ¡°M-master? Are you okay?¡± A voice call out to her. It was Prina. ¡°I-I¡¯m fine. Just a nightmare¡¡± Zadia responds rubbing her head. [Two more years of this¡Damn it.] Chapter 14: Doubts -Zadias POV- After a few weeks of being in that hell Earth created. I¡¯m finally able to stomach the poisonous air that burned my insides like acid, which is a horrible feeling. ¡°Hey Earth. How is this supposed to help me again?¡± I ask him because I¡¯m not even sure. He has yet to explain to me how this so called training will help me. While I questioned him I was waiting in ambush to try my hand at a monster. These monsters are huge in size some were as big as the mountain we climbed to fight the dragon hero. Earth is communicating with me through a small orb the size of a marble. It was black and silky smooth with a small shine to it. He had made the orb turn invisible as it hovers next to me. ¡°Well. Let us put it in this way. What you learn here will be implemented into your real body.¡± As usual Earth replies as if it was common sense. He has watch me die countless times already from the poison in the air. I won¡¯t be defeated so easily. ¡°Wait. What does that mean?¡± ¡°It means that we are training your soul in a way that will strengthen your body. Instead of having your unused potential sit idle. We are going to have you get used to using it. You can¡¯t hurt anything here unless you use your soul energy because you are not in physical form. So once you get used to killing things here. Instead of your soul energy being idle in the physical world it would become passive. Which means your body will be enhanced by your soul without any physical changes or you having to activate it.¡± Earth lets out a small sigh in the end ¡°Body enhancement? So since I can breathe in the poison here. I have gain some sort of immunity to it in the physical world?¡± So that means if I can find out how to kill these monsters. That power will than improve my physical abilities since I can¡¯t relied on them in this world. So my speed and strength here all relies on the energy I use. ¡°Yes. It is because a small part of your soul has become active. The goal within these two years is for you to be able to regularly use your potential to the fullest.¡± ¡°I hear something.¡± I had almost forgotten I was currently hunting my first monster. I won¡¯t really get what Earth means unless I fight one to make sure. The loud steps and the slight quake bought me back to my real focus. The one I¡¯m planning to attack was a monster a little smaller than the dragon hero. I think I can take it down easy, it wasn¡¯t as creepy looking as the other monsters either. It had a fish head with green scales on its back and red scales to its front. I have seen these kind of monsters in video games I played in my past life. ¡°It should be here any minute now.¡± I have been here for a couple hours now. Crouching down behind some rocks, below me is the choke point. This was a path through these hellish mountains that smaller monsters take to avoid total slaughter. If I were to be spotted it would be difficult for them to climb up and get me thanks to the sharp rocky terrain. The light here is dim thanks to the towering mountains so my visibility is not at its best. ¡°ErRGH.¡± The loudening growl of the monster signified its approach, as Zadia pulled out her sword. That Earth had prepare for her with some leather armor to help her in her venture. Zadia rises slightly from her crouched position to get a better view of her target with her blade firmly in her right hand. The monster had stomped its way into Zadias line of sight shaking small pebbles off the sides of the mountainous path. Zadia leaps into the air above the monsters head. With a horizontal slash the blade connected. At least she thought it did, but it went right through the beast. ¡°Swoosh¡± ¡°RraAWRGGH¡± Her strike was quick but nothing had happen it was like her weapon wasn¡¯t even there. She was caught in a daze but was bought back to reality from the monsters roars. Moments after Zadia initiated the fight the monster sent its right claw hurling towards her. Still in mid-air Zadia took full impact of the attack flinging her towards the spikey wall impaling her. ¡°huurRGH¡± Moments later she woke up again in her bed in the middle of the night. It had become quite common for her to wake up at odd times during the night. This caused misunderstandings. Making Julianne think she received trauma from the fight with the dragon, but Zadia ignored her worries and told her it was nothing. Afterwards she would just go back to sleep as if nothing had happened. The next weeks of her night training she had just begun to swing at large rocks. She noticed her blade went through each time but her body was able to make contact with it. ¡°Hey Earth. What is with this sword it doesn¡¯t do anything.¡± Zadia complained as she waved the sword around. ¡°That is because it doesn¡¯t have a soul of its own. Of course you will need to transfer some of your energy into it.¡± ¡°So¡how do I do that?¡± Zadia asks with a confused expression ¡°Focus, practice, and a lot of patience.¡± Earth replies in quick succession ¡°Thanks for the help¡I guess¡¡± Zadia mutter in dissatisfaction Focus, practice, and patience? Really? Guess there is no use to complaining, now that I think about it. I can feel a little bit of the energy within me, must be cause of being in this spiritual world. I should try directing it to my sword even if it¡¯s a little bit it must be able to do something. Love what you''re reading? Discover and support the author on the platform they originally published on. After a short while Zadia could feel a faint energy course through her. She focus intensely with closed eyes and slow breaths. The flow was slowly being directed into her sword which had cause it to emit a small light but for only a second. ¡°Hmm¡I should keep at it till I understand it better.¡± Zadia continue to practice and slowly she was able to redirect more energy each time. She couldn¡¯t do this without any interruption though. ¡°Clang¡± ¡°Cling¡± ¡°RAwrgGH!¡± ¡°Damn it still not good enough.¡± Zadia leaps back dodging the monster attacks in succession. Her blade could make contact with the monsters now but it was not sharp enough to do any damage. So she had a lot of practice escaping her enemies. Zadia had learned how to direct her energy more efficiently to her legs so than after a failed attack she could make her escape with greater speed. ¡°This is annoying.¡± Zadia mutter in frustration During her practice Zadia would constantly be interrupted by monsters roaming around. This world was crawling with monsters. There wasn¡¯t an area that was left unclaimed even if there were it would turn into a bloodbath. So Zadia was always wondering from place to place for a safe place to train. That wasn¡¯t the only interruptions, if someone in the physical were to wake her up. She would be forcefully removed from this world and be sent back to her physical body. After a couple months had past Zadia was able to make deep cuts into several rocks. She hadn¡¯t tested it out on any of the monsters quite yet. Since she has gotten so use to giving them the slip she had almost forgot to try it on them. Julianne had not been able to train Zadia in the afternoons lately but Zadia didn¡¯t mind. She figured it was because of what Earth said. ¡°Sister. Huh¡Well¡ Time to see if I made any progress.¡± Zadia whispers to herself as she gets into position. She was hidden behind a small rocky hill just across of it was a dead plain with corpses litter all around. This area was decimated so it is where the weaker and smaller monsters roam since there is literally nothing here, but the dead and dying. They may be weak but even these monsters were plenty aggressive against those they come across. ¡°There you are.¡± I had started to notice in the past week that the weaker monsters would come out and eat the corpses of fallen monsters. Since this had become a battlefield just a couple days ago. There is plenty of the dead laying around and the monsters that come out to feed on them are the ones that I¡¯ll be practicing on. The monsters that were roaming around here were half the size of dragons. Their appearances differ in shape, size, and color. It was a cluster of disfigured monsters, they have appeared to look like failed creations. ¡°Clank¡± ¡°Ergh¡± Zadia swooped in with precision cutting off the monsters head, ricocheting off of them and beheading them in quick succession. Disturbing groans came out of the monsters after each was slain. After all the monsters were slain, she went into deep thought. ¡°You certainly gotten stronger.¡± A voice emerge from behind. It belonged to Earth ¡°Earth. I have a question. What is this place?¡± Zadia asks as she looks around. The monsters oddly starting to appear human. ¡°Hmm¡It is nothing to be concern with. Good luck partner.¡± Earth responds with a smile. Disappearing once again. ¡°Partner¡ Who is he?¡± Zadia began to get lost in thought. Why doesn¡¯t he ever tell me anything shouldn¡¯t I have a right to know? Now that I think about it, did I ever agreed to be this hero? Wait, are the other heroes even bad? That dragon guy didn¡¯t even know if I was a hero or not. If he knew I was a hero what would he have done? Is Earth just using me? He just threw me in this world and told me to be a hero. ¡°Damn it!¡± Zadia rubs her head in frustration. I just been going along with his plan the entire time. Why was I doing that? Now that I think about it I don¡¯t want to be a damn hero. I¡¯m still weak though. Well I¡¯ll just train for now to become stronger, afterwards I should go to the academy and see if I learn about the other gods. ¡°Why haven¡¯t I been more self-aware?¡± Zadia mutters to herself¡¯ Think. The other heroes haven¡¯t killed each other, so does that mean. There is no contest? That is a possibility I can''t rule out. This is annoying, the more I think about it the more I realize how ignorant I am. Wait, I know nothing is this because Earth is keeping it from me. Why hasn¡¯t he told me the names of the other gods? What if it was to keep me from seeking them out or learning about them? This could be the reason why Earth doesn¡¯t want me to go to the academy. Maybe he is just hiding some big truth about his identity. Maybe he is actually the evil one? ¡°Jeez¡ Maybe I¡¯m just getting paranoid.¡± Zadia rubs her head stressed out. Now that I think about Earth has never really acknowledge me as a hero. He just calls me partner, why is that? He only ever says he needs one, for what? Well. I¡¯m going to go to the academy and find out. No matter what. ¡°Well¡ I still have over a year to decide. Maybe I¡¯m just training too much.¡± Zadia lets out a deep sigh. Chapter 15: Revenge?! One year had passed since the start of the training in the nightmarish world. She had change considerably not only in strength but mentally. [I finally am able to maintain a decent amount of my potential energy. Still, while I was training. More questions had begun popping up in my head. Why am I getting all these kind of thoughts now? Is it because this training Earth has put me on has made me more aware?] Zadia tosses and turns as she laid down in her bed. Her sister had just born two months ago. Her name was Amy. She had dark brown hair just like her father Galen and beautiful red eyes like her mother. Zadia had been extremely happy getting a new sister but endless thoughts keep springing up in her head. Thoughts on how she had acted before and how she had acted now. [When I do think about it, I use to be more aggressive and mechanic automatically going to train than train some more. I felt no need to do something else unless Earth told me so. Why was that? I was never one to trust people so easy. I think¡ Mom has also mention that she used to feel that I was distant¡ Does Earth have something to do with my behavior from before? Maybe I¡¯m just coming up with excuses.] ¡°I can¡¯t rule Earth as evil¡just yet. I still don¡¯t know anything.¡± Zadia prompts straight up off her bed heading out of her room closing the door behind her. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Julianne had been tending to Amy in her bedroom. She had been taking care of Amy the most since she was born. It was different when Zadia was born, the dutiful maids were the ones who had took more care of her than Julianne. This was because Julianne was always busy with arrangements and other important priorities. When Julianne finally had made time to spend with Zadia. She notice that Zadia was already independent and did almost everything herself. Julianne didn¡¯t want to miss out on the experience the second time. Even though she had her hands full with Amy she still made sure to check on Zadia daily, noticing that Zadia had change not long after the fight with the dragon. ¡°Mom. Can I ask you something?¡± Zadia calls out as she enters the room. ¡°This is rare. Sure ask me anything. Your sister is still sleeping so lets¡¯ talk and get in a couple rounds of sparring also. Since it has been awhile, it is long overdue.¡± Julianne suggests as she grabs Zadias hand leading her out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ¡°Are you ready Zadia?¡± Julianne asks with smile. ¡°Yes.¡± They readied their stances. Julianne blasts in first with quick feet sending several slashes towards Zadia. Zadia responds by dodging her easily with small quick movements. Julianne starts to move faster increasing the speed of her swings to no avail. Zadia casually dodges all of her attacks and then counters with a swing towards Julianne. Striking her hand it disarms her. ¡°You¡gotten stronger.¡± Julianne whispers with proud smile. Zadia puts down her sword in response. ¡°So. What is it you wanted to ask me?¡± Julianne asks while she puts away the swords. ¡°Do gods exists? I mean are there any gods that people worship here? You know like almighty beings and whatnot?¡± Zadia rephrasing herself responds. ¡°Hmm¡There are five major gods that most people worship. Other races also have gods but I don¡¯t know much about their beliefs.¡± Julianne responds while pondering. ¡°Umm¡ Can you tell me the names of the human gods?¡± Zadia gave a curious look. ¡°Well¡ there is Veris Goddess of good luck, and Zyktix Goddess of fire. I forgot about the other two¡ but Zyktix is said to have blessed the dragon slayers of Tardodon. It happened around five thousand years ago. When the dragons dominated most of the land. Tardodon, Miragold, and Cadian were the only human countries back then. Well Cadian is now split into two, Cacien and Legadia.¡± ¡°Really?¡± Zadia interjects with curiosity. ¡°Yes. Anyways Miragold and Cadian were protected by their gods. So they decided to safely stay safely within their borders however Tardodon had no such protection. They were assaulted relentlessly by the dragons, but stood strong. They had asked for help from Miragold and Cadien, but received none. The two countries thought Tardodon was going to fall in months but they withstood for years and then out of nowhere. A flame appeared in the sky and then a voice emerge from the flame introducing itself as Zyktix a goddess.¡± Julianne says with excitement in her eyes. ¡°Impress by Tardodons resilience Zyktix gave them protection from the dragons¡¯ fire. Which the Tardodians used to pushed back the dragons. Those that had killed the most dragons were recognized as true dragon slayers. Shortly afterwards the top priority of the dragon slayers were to protect their country no matter the cost. They are selected amongst the most loyal and battle harden troops nowadays. That is why Tardodians hate Miragold and has had a feud with them for so long. Cadien had also broken apart because of this event.¡± Julianne stated as she glances at Zadia. Enjoying the story? Show your support by reading it on the official site. ¡°Why?¡± Zadia asks tilting her head. ¡°Half of them wanted to charge in and help the Tardodians or reconcile with them after the war with the dragons. The other half just wanted to protect their own people and didn¡¯t care for any other they were self-righteous. The side that wanted to help Tardodians formed Cacien and the other half made Legeadia. I didn¡¯t really bother to learn the names of Cadiens and Miragolds gods. I¡¯m sorry I can¡¯t help you with that.¡± Julianne hears crying coming down from the hallway. ¡°It¡¯s your sister.¡± Julianne automatically turns to head towards the crying. ¡°Wait what about the fifth god?¡± Zadia asks curiously. ¡°Oh¡ I think it was Ibnos god of nature. He protected the forests so he warded off any dragon who seek to destroy them. Anyways there are many stories about gods but we can talk later.¡± Julianne says as she rushes out the door. ¡°I guess I can ask Earth¡ no not yet.¡± Zadia shook her head as she rejected the thought. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After much thought Zadia finally falls asleep in her bed. She had already planned out to nights training session. She wasn¡¯t planning on slacking in her training, even though she felt it change her slowly. She didn¡¯t know if it was for better or worst but she open her eyes to see a familiar white space with Earth standing across from her. ¡°Hello partner.¡± Earth states smiling. ¡°Earth. Why am I here? I thought I was still in training?¡± Zadia gave off a serious expression. ¡°I¡¯m just curious. That¡¯s all¡± Earth smiles mischievous. ¡°Curious about what?¡± Zadia responds indifferently ¡°Curious whether you remember anything yet.¡± Earth teases as he gives a mischievous smile. ¡°Remember what? My past life?¡± Zadia inquires sternly ¡°Somewhat.¡± Earth responds casually. ¡°You mean my life as Lucas? I remember all of it. So what are you getting at?¡± Zadia replies with a slightly angered tone. ¡°Hmm¡ Guess you don¡¯t remember yet.¡± Earth replies with lost interest. ¡°What are you talking about?¡± ¡°So. You learned a little about the other gods. I¡¯ll just tell you now those gods are not the only ones in this world right now.¡± Earth changing the subject. ¡°I figured.¡± Zadia retorts ¡°The other ¡°two major gods¡± are Aldir and Sudar. In this world Aldir is known as god of life and Sudar is god of water. The titles are meaningless, but yes they are real gods.¡± Earth continues onward as he notices Zadia becoming increasingly inpatient. ¡°Earth.¡± Zadia calls out sternly, stopping Earth in his tracks as he responds with a smile. ¡°What is it?¡± Earth teases once again annoying Zadia. ¡°What do you mean, when you said do I remember my past life? Am I really Lucas?¡± Zadia probes for an answer. ¡°Hmm¡well yes and no. That soul you are using used to belong to someone called Lucas. Don¡¯t worry about it though, it¡¯s all yours now.¡± Earth replies grinning ¡°W-what?¡± Zadia responds shaken a bit. ¡°Well. Did you really think I would be interested in some random soul that can reincarnate? Reincarnated souls used to be rare, but that was in the beginning. I wasn¡¯t interested in Lucas, I was interested to find my former partner.¡± Earth replies with a grin. ¡°Former partner?¡± Zadia repeats doubting Earths words. ¡°Yes. You weren¡¯t Lucas.¡± Earth replies seriously ¡°Then who or what was I?¡± Zadia responds with more curiosity. ¡°You were Yphion Goddess of Earth.¡± Earth responds with a pleasant smile. ¡°G-g-g-goddess of E-e-e-earth?!¡± Zadia shouts out in shock. ¡°Well then. I guess I¡¯ll just have to explain it from the start.¡± Earth turns around casually. ¡°Afterwards. Maybe you will take your revenge.¡± Earth lets out a dark smile. ¡°R-revenge?¡± Zadia responded nervously. Zadia calms herself realizing another fact. ¡°Earth. Than what is your real name? You lied about me not able to understand it, since you recalled my name. What is your true name?¡± Zadia looks as she asks seriously. ¡°I remembered you. So you will do the same eventually. There is no rush.¡± Earth lets out a sigh. ¡°If you¡¯re telling the truth how come I remember everything about my life as Lucas? I even gave a wish to be handsome as a man!! How could I be a goddess?¡± Zadia shouts out in denial to what Earth told her. ¡°Like I said. I will explain everything from the beginning. Partner.¡± Earth grins at the end of his sentence. -Note- Thanks for reading this far. I''m still going to continue this no doubt. I think I get can write up to chapter 100 with the amount surprises I have set up currently. (The reason I can say this is because my chapters are short not confidence) Anyways hope I get better as time progresses. Chapter 16: Trust Issues ¡°So than explain to me. How I am this Goddess of Earth?¡± ¡°That is who you always have been. The only reason you thought you were Lucas was because you lost your soul. Well most of it¡± Earth pauses for a moment. ¡°What do you mean by that?¡± ¡°Someone absorbed it when they killed you. Lucky for you some of them are in this world.¡± ¡°They? Who is they? Also why should I care about them now? What was the point of all this?¡± Zadia asks filled with confusion. ¡°When you were Yphion, you would torture the souls that were simply stuck and could not go either to haven or purgatory. You didn¡¯t destroy them right away like you were supposed to but instead took pleasure in it. This kind of thing of course was not allowed.¡± Earth smirked. ¡°W-what!?¡± ¡°You were one of the main gods. That look over the one of the prime worlds. The strongest gods can create other worlds but not souls. In other words the prime worlds create souls to inhabit these different worlds, so that the worlds do not pass their capacity.¡± Earth said while smiling at Zadias shock. ¡°Impossible! I would never do that!¡± Zadia denies as Earth continues on without a care. ¡°The other gods took note of this but didn¡¯t openly reject it. Instead they had talks of how to strip you of your powers and your punishment. They didn¡¯t want to kill you right away because you would just reincarnate. Afraid you might seek revenge they created a new world thousands of years prior to killing you.¡± Earth states as he pauses waiting for a reaction. ¡°Why would they do that?¡± ¡°To trap you here. You can¡¯t be reborn without a soul and you can¡¯t do that without a soul capable of reincarnating.¡± Earth pauses for a moment in thought before continuing. ¡°The reason for that is because you were a specter without a soul and for that very reason you took the soul of Lucas as your own. Taking over with only your will left¡± ¡°Wait I don¡¯t understand.¡± ¡°If they stick you here. When you die you would wonder this place for eternity, not able to come back to life and take back what is yours. Also you can¡¯t merge with regular souls because they are too weak and would be destroyed in the process.¡± Earth casually mentions. ¡°W-wait. So that other soul I merged with. The one with the female knight she was able to reincarnate also?¡± Zadia asks curiously ¡°Oh. Her. She was the goddess they tested this on. Also she was one of your closest friends. You don¡¯t actually think they would do this unless they were absolutely sure it would work right. I believe her name was Peyja. She could have possibly have taken over considering she was another god. Good thing I was there.¡± Earth mentions casually. ¡°Peyja was the opposite of you but she believed you were a good person and cared for you.¡± Earth shrugged his shoulders. ¡°She wasn¡¯t the only one they experimented on many of your friends were punished for your actions. At first it went unnoticed, since gods don¡¯t really have sense of time, but you started to sense something was wrong from the actions of the other gods.¡± Earth stated. ¡°W-wait why did they do that?¡± ¡°If I use their excuse it would be ¡°Because you torture helpless souls¡± and so on. Instead I¡¯ll tell you their real reason. They were afraid you would become stronger than them one day. Even though you didn¡¯t openly seek strength they knew you could easily surpass them. This was to prevent that.¡± Earth said uncaringly. ¡°Wait so why are you helping me? If I¡¯m evil?¡± Zadia questions her voice full of suspicion. ¡°Like I said it is up to you to remember me. Until than you can call me Earth.¡± Earth grins ¡°So you are telling me. That I am a goddess that tortured souls as a pastime. Than had all my friends were punished for it. I than was killed, seeking out a soul afterwards. Which I found, since my soul was extremely weak at the time. I took on the souls desires, will, and so on.¡± Zadia pauses for a moment thinking. ¡°Now that your soul has gone through some training. You regained some of your past self. The more potential you unlock the more the truth will be revealed.¡± Earth says with nothing more than a smile. ¡°So. Why do the gods hate you? Do they actually know if I¡¯m Yphion or not?¡± Zadia gets more confused the more Earth reveals. This book''s true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience. ¡°They don¡¯t know it really is you. The dragon hero target wasn¡¯t you at the time. He wasn¡¯t gathering forces to target you. No one knows who you are¡yet. Don¡¯t worry though they are still hunting you.¡± Earth gives an ominous smile at the end. ¡°I don¡¯t get any of this.¡± Zadia says in frustration ¡°Well question time is over. It is about time you resume your training. It is really up to you whether you want to learn more about your past or not. You can fulfill the holes in your memory only if you want.¡± Earth ¡°What does that mean?¡± ¡°It¡¯ll come to you eventually. After your training it will be awhile before we meet again. That is if you decide you want to know. First you will have to understand the world you live in currently before you can understand the world you used to belong. The gods are similar to humans after all. Good luck.¡± Earth snaps his fingers the surroundings changes around them. Zadia watched Earth disappear along with the place she was just in. Thee surroundings change to the hellish place Zadia trained in. ¡°I didn¡¯t get any of that.¡± Zadia mutter to herself once as again as she thought to herself moments later she came to a conclusion. ¡°I don¡¯t care about any of that. I¡¯ll just live how I want. There was no point in me worrying about these heroes in the first place!¡± Zadia calms herself with this thought. ¡°I¡¯ll just train for now. There is no reason for me to bother with revenge or any of it! I¡¯m not even sure if he is telling the truth or not.¡± ¡°There is no reason for me to seek any revenge. Also there is no reason for me to believe anything he said. I shouldn¡¯t trust him. If anything I should seek out the other gods and learn more from them.¡± Zadia stated as she struts into the chaotic world Earth left her in for training. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A couple months had passed since Earth told Zadia she was a goddess. At that time she had taken a second look at her life up to now. She had realize that she had no real knowledge of this world other than stories and legends. This made Zadia see the importance of having knowledge since without it she couldn¡¯t take control of her life. ¡°Zadia. I need to talk to you about something.¡± A voice emerged from her open door as she stared at the ceiling lying in her bed. She straighten up sitting to face the direction of the voice and saw that it was Julianne. She had a worried look on her face and seemed hesitant about something. Zadia had an idea on what it might be, considering her personality differ slightly from before. ¡°Is something wrong?¡± Zadia responded unconcerned. ¡°It¡¯s about your future. I think it¡¯s best to send you to the academy in Atania. It¡¯s safe and there is also a possibility they would teach you magic. It is a neutral country after all. You won¡¯t have to worry about any more battles or monsters.¡± Julianne pauses for a moment noticing Zadias Silience. ¡°I mean you can always become an adventurer later on in life. After the marriage proposals are settle. You will attend the school for four to six years. It seems like a long time but it isn¡¯t.¡± ¡°I¡¯ll love to go to the academy.¡± Zadia responded with a smile. ¡°You do?¡± Julianne replies in shock. She had expected Zadia to be upset or something similar. She was awe struck that Zadia was willing to go to the academy. The reason why Julianne wanted Zadia to go to the academy far away from Rowien was because she noticed Zadias change after the dragon fight. Julianne had been worried that she had been traumatized by the event and wanted her to forget about it by sending her to the academy. There she wouldn¡¯t be reminded of the event as much as she would be here. This was the conclusion she came to by herself. ¡°Don¡¯t worry about me mom. I¡¯ll be just fine.¡± Zadia tries to ease her worries with a smile. ¡°Um. O-okay. You sure you are fine with this?¡± Julianne asks again waiting for Zadia to change her mind. ¡°Yes. I¡¯m fine.¡± Zadia lies back down onto her bed. ¡°O-okay¡I love you. Good night.¡± Julianne exists slowly and closes the door behind. ¡°Did I do something wrong?¡± Julianne mutters to herself quietly before walking down the hall.
