《Oh no! My Master suddenly turned into ah...》
Chapter 1: Explosion?!
Chapter 1: Explosion?
Through the rugged path that I always take to reach the city, a faint laugh usually resounded in my ears. The kind of laugh that makes you want to turn tail and run away, not looking back to even return. That was the type of sentinel this forest has, or more precisely, this workshop that sits on the middle of this forest.
I was never given an explanation as to why we have to have it nor why does it even have to exist. It was just there, plain and simple.
Overall, this forest is rich in plants and herbs that were widely used for remedies and medication. Ever since I was picked up by that ¡°witch¡± when I was seven, my usual task had always involve with me gathering these herbs¡ªwhether I liked it or not.
Even though we¡¯ve lived together for eleven years, we rarely talked. She spent most of her time cooped up in her workshop, doing whatever shady shenanigans it is. As for me, my job was to keep her alive. Sort of.
Nonetheless, if I do not return by sunset, Master would surely give me an earful, saying her favorite Melon bread was late again. Perhaps if it wasn¡¯t for the bad reputation she¡¯s built up in the city, none of these would have happened.
As soon as I exited the forest, the giant stone walls enclosing the city in a distance was what stole my attention, as usual. This city, Sharona, is a peaceful town belonging to the Rukbein republic. Named after one of the greatest alchemist in the world, this city is known for its beautiful clockworks¡ªmost noticeably, the giant clocktower that rests in the middle of the city.
I made a beeline to the city entrance and the usual lazy guard greeted me as usual. For some reason too, he had this weird grin on his face.
¡°If it isn¡¯t the guy who lives with the witch.¡±
¡°Come now old man, how many times would I have to tell you? It¡¯s Kekewne.¡±
Although I disputed him, it was mainly as a joke. He doesn¡¯t seem to harbor any particular ill will towards me, unlike all the others I came across.
The old guard continues with a hearty laugh. ¡°Hah! Black hair and eyes, most people would think that you¡¯re cursed. Not to mention, your name. Are you trying to screw with me, kid?¡±
Yes, the poor me was named after the catastrophic dragon of the legends, Kekewne. According to the ancient text found centuries ago, there was once a dark dragon that threatened to destroy the world for whatever reasons that I didn¡¯t deem worthy of knowing. Now, that dragon is merely a legend. There¡¯s but a single soul left alive that could justify the credibility of these stories, but the fear he struck on us made its way on books and the dragon was recorded in history.
Regardless on how my morbid Master even came to the idea of naming the clueless me after the dark dragon in the legends, I have no choice but to accept. Besides, having the name ¡°Kekewne¡± has its merits too.
While thinking about my silly childhood, I breathed a heavy sigh.
¡°Whatever makes you happy. That aside, is there some event going on?¡± I asked curiously after noticing the weird gathering of people right across the gate.
The old guard looks back to the crowd of people. ¡°From what I heard, we¡¯ll be having a royal visit soon. Something about the royal family¡¯s princess wanting to see the great clocktower or whatnot.¡±
Judging from his tone, it must be a really big event. Something that his lazy self doesn¡¯t want to get involve in. After what you call ¡°our pleasantries¡±, I made my way inside the town.
In the middle of that crowd was a stern looking man with sharp brown eyes. He gave me the impression that he was uptight or maybe scary was the right word. However, whatever business he has in this city was not of my concern¡ªso I decided to ignore him.
While nonchalantly walking through the bustling populace, you can¡¯t help but notice the beautiful architecture vying for attention in your eyes. That is to say, this gigantic clock tower was indeed majestic on its own. The more I stare into it, the more it draws me in. It has that mysterious vibe attached to it.
¡°I wonder what¡¯s inside?¡±
For the countless times I¡¯ve visited this town, I was only allowed to go through the lower levels. From what they told me, you need a certain pass to visit the upper floors. Because something as troublesome as getting a pass did not interest me, I decided not to think about it any further.
After plowing through the group of kids playing with wooden swords, I reached the heaven called Bakery. And I described it as heaven because it was attended by a beautiful angel, Agnes.
¡°Oh, Kekewne, it¡¯s been a while.¡±
She turned to face me with a refreshing smile. Witnessing that smile took my breath for a moment and I struggled for words.
¡°Eermm, indeed.¡±
¡°Hehe, are you here for the regular?¡±
¡°Arrghh, yes.¡±
I can only scratched my head as I try to avoid her gaze. Goddammit, it always ends like this whenever I¡¯m around her.
¡°Thanks for your patronage! Come again!¡±
After exchanging the 4 Rupee coins I have in my pocket for ten pieces of melon bread, I left the bakery¡ªafter looking dumb and speechless. I have tried some simulations by myself, but it never worked out in the end. I¡¯m not sure how to describe it, but there was something about her smile that keeps on stealing the air in my lungs, sometimes even leaving my mouth agape.
¡°Meh, next time, I¡¯ll properly hold a conversation with Agnes.¡±
I fisted my right hand jerked it towards me as if I found a new goal in life. Or not really. I¡¯m pretty content with our neutral friendship. I wouldn¡¯t want to destroy that and made it awkward by suddenly confessing. Heck, even I¡¯m not positive with these feelings of mine.
I pondered that in my head while walking back, yet after passing a certain alleyway, a bunch of cronies called out to me.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
¡°Yo, Mr. Dark dragon, why don¡¯t you come play with us for a while?¡±
¡°Hehe, we¡¯ll repay you for what you did last time.¡±
Based on their appearance and the swords hanging on their waist, I guess they¡¯re serious this time. Back then, I had no trouble sending these hoodlums away just with the mere mention of my name, but I guess as time passed, that same strategy lost its edge. The last time I was in town, I did buried their faces against the wall, but that¡¯s because my Master was with me.
It was something on the lines of, ¡°I do not allow other people to bad mouth you like that other than myself.¡±
So, after hearing her say that, I was forced to beat them up. And now they¡¯re out for my blood. Seems like they can keep a grudge at least.
¡°Haha, how about we forget about all of these? I¡¯ll be benevolent and even share some Melon bread with you guys,¡± I forced a smile and reached out a melon bread to the nearest hoodlum.
He blinked my way and in the next instant, I had already planted my leather boots on his face. Twisting around, I kicked him in the groin as fast as he showed a pained reaction. He sprawled on the ground with hollow eye sockets and white bubbles escaping his mouth.
¡°Who wants the next melon bread?¡±
¡°You won¡¯t have any teeth left when I¡¯m done with you!¡±
The next guy let out a growl for some reason, as if he pulled out some secret energy. He shot a fist on my face, and another. But all it did was hit the empty space where I previously had my head on.
¡°Oh, please.¡±
I phased downward and kneed him on his gut. He lowered to his knee, and I used that chance to bash his head down the floor with an elbow strike. A loud crunch and another hoodlum was left unconscious, more white bubbles hanging on his slack-open mouth.
¡°Can I go home now?¡± I asked the last guy with a bald head who can¡¯t seem to configure what just happened. It was all too quick.
Maybe it was due to the bag full of melon bread squashed tightly against my chest that I want to stop, and ruining them any further would defeat the reason why I even visited Sharona in the first place.
¡°Eeek! Monster! It¡¯s the guy who lives with the witch!!¡±
When understanding finally dawned on him, he started running away like a fool. It made me wonder how much bad luck I must have to encounter those persistent thugs again and again.
¡°Man, if you¡¯re gonna bring swords, at least use them. It kinda defeats the purpose.¡±
Mainly because I do not want to get caught with such a scene, I started jogging away from that place.
The moment I¡¯ve returned back to the workshop, it was long past sundown.
¡°Master, I¡¯m home.¡±
No answer¡¡
I don¡¯t know why I expected an answer, but it made me lonely knowing we¡¯ll never have that kind of relationship.
I walked to the messy work table full of blueprints and other miscellaneous. However, over there, was something that I did not predicted. It took me by surprise.
There was a birthday cake¡ªthat looks like it was clumsily put together and shoved inside an oven¡ªand a note. Curious, I took the note and read the contents.
Happy 18th Birthday! I synthesized this cake for you! Be grateful and serve me eternally!
¡°This master of mine¡¡±
I think a tear trickled down my cheek after reading her silly note. I don¡¯t know. I wasn¡¯t sure. Or maybe I don¡¯t want to be sure.
If she¡¯s gonna bake a cake, she could have ask for my help instead. I wouldn¡¯t mind baking my own birthday cake. But thinking about it, it must be because of this that she sent me out to fetch her favorite snack.
I took a smoosh of icing and tasted it. A bit on the bitter side. Knowing my master, she probably confused salt with sugar.
¡°Oh well, I¡¯ll eat it anyways¡ª¡±
Suddenly, a distinct smell¡ªburnt and crisp¡ªwrinkled my nose involuntarily. The scent seems to be originating from my master¡¯s room. Confused and scared at the same time on what kind of crazy antics were occurring behind her door, I went there and knocked.
*tok, tok*
¡°Master? Is something the matter?¡±
The burning smell originating from her room was getting stronger by the second. Smoke was also leaking out from the tiny gaps of her door.
¡°Shit¡ª¡±
*Ba-Gam!!*
Just when the stupid idea of forcing my way inside flashed in my head, a sudden explosion blew me away. Everything else¡ªher door, our glass windows, the cake that she baked for me¡ªall was caught up in that ear deafening explosion.
¡°Ugh¡ M..Master?¡±
I looked around. With my hazy vision, there is only the crimson fire eating away everything else that I grew to love. Even with my consciousness in pieces, I pushed myself up. Heaving, I tried to reach my master¡¯s room.
Amidst the confusion and the rising heat, was a single girl.
I did not recognize her, but the robe wrapped around her body was something I considered familiar. Even her purple hair was very familiar in my eyes. But, above all the irregularities, the necklace I made for that ¡°person¡± was present around her neck.
At that very instant, I realized.
¡°No¡¡Master?¡±
If slapping myself could bring me back to reality, I would¡¯ve done so in a long time now.
Why? Why indeed.

Did I ever told you my master was a wrinkled Grandma?

Chapter 2: Sharona
I was certainly panicking. The house that I¡¯ve built on through the years was being devoured by fire right before my very eyes.
But, forget about anything else, I have to save her first!
I gathered the mysterious girl in my arms yet, all of a sudden, a bluish light generated around her¡ªlike a barrier. When she opened her eyes¡ªas if she awoke from an eternal slumber¡ªher pupils shone the same bluish color and she floated around the fire without getting burned.
¡°What in the world is going on?¡±
To me, who was but a regular guy, was more than mystified. However, my surprises did not end there. In the middle of those dancing flames, the petite girl with purple hair looked at me.
I was frozen in place, unable to move, not because of fear, not because of despair. The light in her eyes reflected my visage clearly, even clearer than the morning sky.
¡°RE-CODE.¡±
¡°Recode?¡±
While she spoke in a monotone voice, she raised a hand and another light circulated around it. That circle had the similarities of a clock. The writings are different, but if you count it accordingly and checked the hands, it is basically the same.
Swiftly, the ticking of a grandfather clock resounded in my ears. With every passing second, that reverberating sound was getting louder and louder.
I covered my ears and at the same time, what I would call a miracle transpired.
The broken glasses, the doors, our burnt roof, my injuries, all of it slowly returned to place¡ªjust as if the passage of time returned to a certain point. Even the fire that originated from her cauldron was sucked in like a vacuum.
And in the next moment, everything returned as if that nightmare was a lucid dream, except for a single person¡ªmy master was nowhere to be found! The light covering the girl soon faded and I caught her in my arms.
She was light, like a delicate gem that would fit just right in my palm. That¡¯s how small she feels right now. It''s hard for me to face the truth but, however superficial it may be, could this girl really be my master?
Considering my understanding of the situation, that¡¯s the only logical conclusion I can think of.
No, even though my master had certainly been crazy as of late, I don¡¯t believe she¡¯s the type of person who would delve deep into something akin to a forbidden art.
I shook my head. All of this would be solved once this girl opened her eyes.
After acquiring a conclusion for now, I laid the girl down on my master¡¯s bed. It has generated dust through the years, but it¡¯s still better than sleeping on that couch as hard as a stone like me.
I swiped away and pushed her hair aside. This girl really is cute. If this is my master on her younger years, I would have fallen for her without a doubt.
I shook my head again. No, no, let¡¯s not wish for those types of endings.
Just when I found the courage to walk away, she suddenly grabbed my arm, as if a nightmare was bothering her sleep.
¡°Don¡¯t¡leave me¡¡Don¡¯t.¡±
Although she clung to my arm tightly, her eyes were still shut tight, and her harsh breathing and panting sparked a concern in my heart¡ªI can¡¯t leave her like this.
¡°Don¡¯t worry, I¡¯m here.¡±
Seeing no reason to decline, I extended my right hand to her. The girl gently grabbed my hand and pressed it against her chest. Whether she was wide awake or actually sleeping, I didn¡¯t care. I was stroking the back of her head with my fingers, trying my best to comfort her from whatever fear that¡¯s tormenting her sleep.
It was something special to me. Whenever I can¡¯t turn myself to sleep or I¡¯m sick, master would always snuck around my spot to hold my hand. She would accompany me throughout the night. All those times, I pretended to be asleep and just enjoyed the comfort of her warmth passing from her hand to mine.
They did say that nothing in this world compares to the comfort and security of having someone just hold your hand. Even more so if that certain someone is a person you trust.
¡°Sleep well.¡±
Recalling the good luck charm that my master had always given me, I bent and pressed my lips on her forehead. She giggled for a little bit, making me think to myself if my lips were somewhat ticklish?
With our hands still connected, I laid down on the cold hard floor myself. As much I want to keep her company all night, even I need my sleep and rest.
Maybe this is all just a dream itself¡¡¡
For now, I decided to push these troublesome thoughts away from my mind and just quietly wished myself a goodnight sleep.
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
¡°*Sniff*¡ *Sniff*¡±
Eh, someones crying?
I approached the lady sulking on the ground. She was drawing circles like a child too.
¡°Why are you crying?¡±
¡°It¡¯s because you don¡¯t like what I called you.¡±
¡°You mean my name? Surely you can think of a better one than that?¡±
¡°No, your name will be Kekewne from now on!¡±
Although this lady has visible wrinkles on her forehead, she¡¯s still on her prime, for the most part. But you can¡¯t help but think that she has the mentality of a child, judging from her childish responses and actions. She¡¯s pretty unreasonable too. But despite all the things that I hate about her, I liked her very much¡¡¡
I woke up earlier than the earnest sun. I started preparing breakfast. I was burning wood twice as much as I did compare to any other day. I wanted to prepare something good for her when she awoke, is what I thought.
Don¡¯t know why, but I felt a sudden surge of electricity behind me. Alarmed, thinking about the worst, I turned around carrying a frying pan on one hand.
There was like a cat nibbling on the melon bread that I left defenseless on the table. She wore a dark robe and matching hat that further defines her job description as a witch. Although she wore a menacing outfit, her cute face outshines that darkness.
¡°Hohoho, *nom* you¡ must be my manservant, correct?¡±
¡°Manservant my ass? I don¡¯t remember being your servant, milady.¡±
¡°Hohoho, well now you do,¡± She folded her legs while she gives out a hearty laugh. ¡°What type of synthesization product is this? It certainly is fitting for an apprentice they prepared for me. You passed my test, you can keep your title as my servant as long as you supply me with this thing.¡±
I had the sudden urge to whack her smug face with my frying pan, but I kept that inside me.
¡°How about introducing yourself first, milady?¡±
With my eyebrows twitching, I spoke in a sarcastic tone.
¡°HOHOHO! WORSHIP ME! HONOR MY NAME¡ª¡±
She stopped and pressed a hand on her head. It was hard to figure out her expression, but it was on the lines of a confused kid.
¡°What¡¯s the matter?¡±
I was still joking, but all sign of life had already left her face. My actions made me sick.
¡°I can¡¯t seem to remember my name. My¡ My head¡¯s blank¡¡±
She stares at me in confusion, while she presses both of her hands down the table, where I can¡¯t see them shake.
¡°Who¡ Who am I?¡±
After that, all I heard was the loud clanging of my frying pan hitting the floor. Some sort of pain heats through my chest, as I embraced her tightly. She clung to my arms, and in the next instant, she let the emotions forming in her eyes loose.
I wasn¡¯t sure of what to do¡
I wonder what will be good to say¡
¡°I don¡¯t remember anything¡ Who are you? What am I doing in this place?¡±
While she showered me with questions, she kept on rubbing her face, her eyes against my chest. For sure, something exploded inside her. Something deep that caused her to act like this.
¡°I¡¯m your servant remember?¡±
¡°Lies. You just said you don¡¯t know me.¡±
Her small figure was trembling before me, yet all I could do was keep my mouth shut.
A name. She needs a name. Think myself, what can you do in this situation.
¡°¡¡¡¡Sha..Sharona! Until we¡¯ve figured out your real identity, how about you take that name for now?¡±
I just babbled whatever convenient words that formed in my head. She pulled back from my embrace and her still blurry golden eyes shifted to mine, and they stayed there.
¡°Sharona??¡±
¡°Yes, that will be your name from now on. What do you think?¡±
¡°It¡¯s worthy of my greatness at least.¡±
Just when I started thinking how adorable she was, she shattered my vision with a single haughty sentence. It made me want to pinch my cheeks somehow.
For some reason, she pointed behind me. I turned around to check.
¡°AHHH, THE POTS BURNING!¡±
¡°Such carelessness. That¡¯s going straight to your report card.¡±
¡°SHUT UP! Go recode it right now!¡±
And so, our morning started in a somewhat lively manner. I think my regular days would be filled with even more headaches from now on.
Chapter 3: Concoction
[Mek-pendragon] Here it is! Please let me know of any grammar errors and the like!
Chapter 3: Concoction
¡°Where¡¯s Kekewne going?¡±
I turned to look at Sharona, who¡¯s lazily slumped on my sofa while holding a book up close with her small hands. Crystal white skin shone lusters against the exposed side of her dark robe.
¡°I¡¯m going out.¡±
¡°Going out? This early?¡±
She pressed the book¡ªa book on how to properly concoct a potion volume 1¡ªon her face, her ears were reddening just as if she was embarrassed to ask. It didn¡¯t escaped my eyes how lonely she looked just now.
¡°Yes, it¡¯s the best time for me to pick up some Piofonera.¡±
The desire to conceal that loneliness jolted inside me; causing me to walk back to my side table and grab my blanket. Because of her dainty build, I folded the blanket twice before putting it on top of her. Hopefully, that¡¯s enough to keep her warm. The forest can be quite chilly this time of the day.
¡°When will you be back?¡±
¡°I¡¯ll try to make it before noon, but I won¡¯t promise anything.¡±
¡°Mhm. Alright¡¡±
I cracked a faint smile after seeing her nod her head. I knelt to her face and kissed her forehead¡ªquick enough to leave that smacking noise of my lips. Damn, I might get addicted on kissing her if I keep doing that.
She rubbed her half open eyes, as if she¡¯s barely hanging in there to stay awake.
¡°When I wake up, Kekewne will be here?¡±
¡°Haha, of course.¡±
After I reassured her like that, I left our workshop.
I reconfirmed my equipment: My gathering knife on my girdle, this rucksack used for storing medicinal herbs, and a few antidote herbs just in case.
Piofonera is a type of flower that blooms on top of a deadly shroom. I usually harvest this flower every other week because that¡¯s the time it regrows. The morning mist clears the poison gathering around the area overnight¡ªgiving me the best reason to gather the flower approximately this time of the day.
From them on, after reviewing everything, I continued walking down the trail.
I have reached my destination. Also known as the Deadly Zone, this part of the forest could be describe as the most toxic.
I wrapped a bandana around my mouth and trudged on the fresh foliage. From the many man-size mushrooms surrounding me, only one of them holds the flower that I need. If that shroom doesn¡¯t move around, it would¡¯ve been a lot easier for me to discern which one is which.
However, the said mushroom is alive. A moment¡¯s carelessness and it¡¯ll swallow me whole. Last time I gathered the wrong flower, these mushrooms shot a very deadly toxin that would¡¯ve no doubt killed me if I was a second too late from running away. Unfortunately, the Piofonera wasn¡¯t as lucky as I and it withered that very instant. That¡¯s why I have to spot it first before the shroom could even break its camouflage.
¡°Mushy, mushy. Come to papa.¡±
I played with the knife in my right, steadily drawing in to one mushroom and the other. The mushrooms caps also grew some deadly thorns. Something that you wouldn¡¯t want to touch unless you¡¯re looking to say goodbye forever.
Shaking, sobbing, trembling, that type of noise echoed in my ears. The longer I stay here, the illusions would surely suck me in.
I drew a long breath and continued.
At the corner of my eye, a mushroom moved. It shook a little and I smiled.
That¡¯s my quarry right there.
Taking safety in mind, I approached this mushroom.
A few more steps and I¡¯ll hit gold¡
The technique to catch this guy off guard is to relax. But not so relaxed that you¡¯re basically marching. Think of it as a stroll down a busy crowd. Enjoy your walk, but be careful not to hit somebody else.
I reached out to the flower and nipped it in an instant with my knife. The petals were showing a vibrant red color¡ªa sign that I plucked it at the right time.
Good job me, I guess.
With the flower in hand, there was no need to stay in that dreadful area any longer.
A short time after gathering the flower, I cut through the forest while gathering some magic herbs. Magic herbs are the most natural ingredient you could find to make a tonic. Luckily, they sprout all over this forest too.
So much for the people calling this forest cursed. It¡¯s flourishing with natural resources such as this one. I guess from the outside and how the forest confuses its visitors with a maze, it does seem like its curse.
Not to mention, the witch that sits in the middle of this maze.
Although, looking from the outside of our house, it does have that pointy-end design that my master requested me to built. I even have to go through extreme hardship fishing and cutting some dark oak just to match her preferences.
Enjoying this book? Seek out the original to ensure the author gets credit.
¡°I¡¯m home.¡±
I entered the house and Sharona greeted me with a commanding tone.
¡°Welcome back my servant, how did it go?¡±
Looks like she¡¯s back to her usual self. If she would only keep her meek expression, she would be really cute, but I guess that¡¯s only a privilege I could enjoy while she¡¯s still half asleep.
Nonetheless, no matter how commanding or haughty she becomes, having someone greet me back gives me that warm and fluffy sensation in my chest. It feels good.
¡°Not a problem this time, I got it.¡±
I showed her the flower, the embodiment of my success.
¡°Good, bring it here.¡±
Sharona stood from my couch while bringing the same book she was previously reading with her and we entered her room. There was a gigantic cauldron over there, underneath the wide chimney.
Yes, the layout of this house is abnormal.
¡°Umm, can milady really do this? Our allowance for the next two weeks relies on this, you know,¡± I spoke behind her. ¡°A simple mistake and all our money to buy that melon bread will be gone.¡±
Master and I have been making a living by concocting useful elixirs on my master¡¯s free time. We sold it once to one of the town¡¯s residents and ever since then, we made a contract to deliver potions every other week in exchange for money.
¡°Are you trying to enrage me? The sin of enraging the great me can cost you dearly, so I suggest keeping your tongue to yourself unless you¡¯re praising me.¡±
I sighed. ¡°Alright.¡±
After ignoring my warning, Sharona grabbed her wooden staff¡ªerr my master¡¯s wooden staff.
¡°Drag that table over here and start the fire.¡±
Just what my mistress had commanded, I dragged the table and set the materials I just gathered on top. While she¡¯s configuring something by herself, I started lighting the fire of her cauldron. Thankfully, I already filled it with water fresh from our well outside this morning.
Once it was it at boiling point, she started throwing things in the cauldron.
¡°What¡ª¡±
¡°Shssh, I¡¯m concentrating.¡±
¡°Concentrating? This is merely playing around!¡±
I was ignored once more. Counting on the magic grasses she¡¯s thrown inside, there¡¯s already a total of 26 magic grasses swimming in that boiling water. Although I do not know the process myself, I do know myself that that¡¯s too much.
Sharona snapped the flower in half, by the receptacle, and mindlessly threw it in that gigantic pot.
I was panicking around, all over my master¡¯s room, my hands on my head.
Let there not be any explosions!
Let there not be any explosions!
Let there not be any explosions!
I look back to sharona and she stare back my way.
Her mouth curve a little as she said. ¡°HAHAHAHA!! Watch closely my dear!¡±
With an open book on her left and her staff on the other, she started stirring the contents of her cauldron. The cauldron started producing a black smoke¡ªa smoke that I¡¯m oh so familiar with.
I knew it! It was a bad decision to let her do this. This house will be gone for good this time.
¡°Stop it! Let¡¯s run away!¡±
¡°Shush!¡±
I would¡¯ve argued a lot more, but I suddenly saw the light in Sharona¡¯s eyes. That¡¯s the eyes saying ¡°I¡¯m awesome¡± or something like that. And when an egotistical person like her thinks on those lines, I hardly doubt she¡¯ll fail.
I pressed a palm on my chest and prepared for the worst.
Faster and faster.
Faster and faster.
Faster and faster.
My eyes followed her every move.
And then¡ª¡ª
*Boom.*
A small puff of black smoke, and a sweet and enticing smell followed.
¡°Sharona?¡±
She was just silently standing there. And then, without saying a single word to retort me, she drops her book and I rushed to her aide. She slumped on my arms with her eyes squeezed tight.
Perhaps it was due to the intense swirling that she felt tired?
Nevertheless, I carried her up. At the same time, I caught a glimpse of her finished product. The usual color of my master¡¯s elixir was close to reddish, but this one is pinkish at most. Could there be a difference or is it merely the color?
Not that it matters.
I dipped a finger and tasted it. Immediately, I felt refreshed.
¡°Hmm, this might be something good on it¡¯s own.¡±
Well, my client will be the one to judge that tomorrow. For now, I guess I could say that she did a good job. I patted Sharona¡¯s back and laid her down my master¡¯s bed.
After that, well, I cleaned up her mess.
What else should I be doing as her servant anyways?
Chapter 4: For a Certain Someone

Chapter 4: For a Certain Someone
I opened my eyes. My hands are occupied with something. Something sensational and flat. I should be complaining on how hard this couch is, but this little lilly inside my arms causes my heart to pump blood in my brain¡ªso much that it''s blockading all of my rationality.
As time passed, I got more nervous.
Her thin white shoulders were exposed for me to bare my fangs on. I panted heavily, trying to control myself from exploding, but she just had to respond in a cute giggle. I shook my head. Even though she¡¯s the one who snuck on my bed¡ªif you could even describe this couch¡¯s that¡¯s as hard as the floor like that¡ªI can¡¯t think like this.
I have to stay calm, but her breathing was almost like a whistle. It¡¯s playing with my brain and my heart.
¡°Psst, Sharona! Wake up!
I tried, but to no avail. She slept like a log, while my arm was sandwiched in between her thighs. Not to mention, the other was cupping something. I¡¯m trying to keep my sanity, yet her sweet fragrance and disoriented robe was awakening the tree of sages hidden in my loin.
¡°Kekewne¡ Kekewne¡¡±
She¡¯s even pressing her body against mine, making me feel that soft sensation.
Is she perhaps having a dream?
¡°Don¡¯t leave me¡¡±
..........................
I wasn¡¯t sure why, but it was quite easy dislodging my hands from whatever type of treasure they¡¯re trying to seize after that.
¡°I won¡¯t, I¡¯ll always be here.¡±
I whispered those words to her ears and she shivered. I hugged her tightly and just laid there awake until my mistress herself realizes the severity of the situation.
Gosh, if these types of mornings continues, I would no doubt be her slave for life.
I transferred the contents of the weird elixir she just made yesterday to small empty glasses of milk. All in all, we made a total of sixteen bottles¡ªa quantity that''s enough to last my client for more than a month.
I strapped those potions to my handcart and started rolling, with my mistress Sharona, included.
¡°Umm, milady¡ª¡±
The moment I turned my face, a miniscule foot hits my cheek.
¡°Don¡¯t turn over here, or you might molest me again.¡±
¡°But you¡¯re the one who snuck on my¡ª¡±
Another stomping forced me to turn my head sideways.
¡°That¡¯s not the point here!¡±
¡°Hai hai, you¡¯re right and I¡¯m wrong.¡±
I knelt and grabbed the handles of my cart. I started walking down the forest path. It was not practically man made, but most tree roots and other hindrances were gone due to me using this path almost everyday.
I planted a few mushrooms to act as my guide whenever I traversed. This forest plays with your directions after all. The overly familiar trees that surround you on all sides, the leaves and branches blockading the sunlight, and this menacing echo that plays almost every other minute. Even I would be lost if I¡¯m not careful.
¡°You seem to know this forest quite well. That¡¯s good, my servant should be reliable.¡±
Sharona spoke behind me. I didn¡¯t bother to look back, but I replied, as if I was forcing these words out of my mouth.
¡°Well, I¡¯ve lived in these woods for more than a decade. Not to mention, satisfying the ramblings of a crazy witch, this forest became my playground.¡±
¡°A crazy witch? Tell me more about her.¡±
She suddenly got excited. I wonder if it¡¯s because of the word witch or something else, but it made me smile after hearing her ask that question.
¡°Is it okay if I start with how I met her first?¡±
¡°Mhm, that¡¯s also interesting. Fine, I¡¯ll allow it.¡±
It feels like I¡¯m the one begging to open my story for some reason. Oh well, I just chuckled, loud enough for my mistress to hear.
¡°Well, I was an orphan. Left off to rot somewhere without a name, without an identity. As much as I could remember back then, there wasn¡¯t any place left for me to be me. From what I heard, my mother abandoned me the moment she saw how dark my hair is, or my father almost gouged my eyes out because of these black pupils.¡±
¡°I see, so that¡¯s the reason for that scar in your left brow?¡±
I sighed. ¡°Something like that. I didn¡¯t particularly cared for anyone after that. I don¡¯t know. Back then, I just want for things to end. My life. My suffering. If it could relieved me of the pain in my chest for even a single moment, I would do anything. And due to some unfortunate circumstances, I met her. A crazy witch.¡±
Whether she felt the need to be silent to respect my privacy or something else, she didn¡¯t say anything. None of the witty retort that leaves her mouth like a tornado. That¡¯s fine, is what I thought. I¡¯m not looking for her to comfort me anyways. It wasn¡¯t because of that why I started reminiscing.
It was starting to get awkward too, so I stopped my tear jerking story there.
In a quick instant, we came upon the fourth intersection in the forest. At the top of my head, I believe I should turn right here, but you can never be too sure. So I stopped and searched for the mushrooms I planted.
I stepped forward and sank beside a broken tree trunk. Because of it, my mushrooms were suddenly hidden, but still good enough for me to confirm our direction. If I turn right indeed, we¡¯ll reach the town in no time flat.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. After confirming that, I walked back to Sharona. Seeing her relaxed and proud face made me somehow happy.
¡°What happened? Have we lost our way?¡±
I frowned and shook my head.
¡°Not really. I just thought I¡¯ll check my little babies.¡±
¡°Babies?¡±
¡°Haha, nothing. Just an influence of a witch.¡±
¡°Hmph.¡±
She returned to my cart and sat with an expression of a queen. She had both of her arms leaning on the sides of my cart, while her feet was fully stretched and folded together on top of the box where I put our products on. Yawning, she took something out of her robe. It was a book. A book on how to concoct advance elixirs, the silly way volume 3, signed by my master.
It made me smile wryly.
Following on, I dragged my cart towards the direction I previously confirmed. There¡¯s already hints of the giant clocktower appearing in those sea of trees. Another sign that loosened one of the knots in my chest.
I saw a familiar old man standing on the corner up ahead. As I drew closer, the old man waved a hand at me and gestured me to stop.
¡°Kid, what¡¯s up? What you got over there?¡±
¡°Same old same old. The usual medicine Mr. Vincent ordered for his daughter.¡±
¡°And the little lady?¡±
¡°My master¡¯s relative. She¡¯ll be staying with us from now on.¡±
It agitates me how he looks at Sharona like she¡¯s part of a circus show, but I knew the old man didn¡¯t mean anything behind that gaze. I simply held that agitation inside me.
Still, I can¡¯t blame him. Sharona really is a beautiful girl and though she might be blunt, the mysterious and alluring vibe she gives out alone is enough to attract attention. It was an occurrence I expected beforehand.
Good thing that travel time is taking its toll on her. Right now, she only had a book covering her face from the light of the sun. It wouldn¡¯t be good for us both if she starts talking.
¡°Well, how¡¯s the city lately?¡±
I asked the old man while he¡¯s inspecting the contents of my luggage.
¡°Other than the royal visit, I don¡¯t think I¡¯ll have anymore headaches for a while.¡±
¡°You heard about any job that pays good?¡±
The old man stops for a moment and looks at me. ¡°What do you need the money for?¡±
I scratched the back of my head and shifted my gaze to Sharona. ¡°I want to buy her some clothes. She¡¯s a girl after all. It wouldn¡¯t be good if she keeps wearing that same old robe.¡±
¡°Are you sure you¡¯re not just trying to satisfy your fetishes?¡±
¡°Cmon old man, do you really see me like that?¡±
¡°Haha, maybe not. But who knows, this good guy attitude might just be a facade. You could be a pervert that preys on girls for all I care. Actually, if you start preying on the girls inside the city, you¡¯ll be kissing your freedom goodbye.¡±
The old man taps the scabbard of his trustee sword and I just laughed alongside him.
¡°Alright kiddo, you¡¯re good to go.¡±
After confirming the contents are safe, the old man nods at me and told me to move on. I bowed my head to the old man before entering the town.
As we made our way through the stone paved streets, my quiet and solemn mistress finally graced me with her words.
¡°Do you enjoy being a laughingstock?¡±
For some reason, her words put me to a halt. I turned around. Sharona got off the cart and was brushing the accumulated dirt off her robe.
¡°Who would? But pride and rage? I would just get tired of those things. And besides, the old man doesn¡¯t mean anything about it.¡±
¡°Let me tell you,¡± She walks up to me and taps my shoulder. ¡°Other than the great me, nobody else can look down nor badmouth my servant? Okay?¡±
My heart was pounding, racing so fast it doesn¡¯t sound like a heartbeat. I¡¯m not sure where she got the idea, but I can¡¯t dispute her when she looks so serious like that. And here I expected something else. Something more meaningful.
But ah, my mistress is quite random indeed.
¡°Well, let¡¯s deliver these potions first,¡± I managed to speak, despite the loud pounding in my chest that seems to prevent me from doing anything else.
My mistress replied with a wide smile. I think I can read what¡¯s behind that big grin. Since we¡¯re in the city, she¡¯s probably thinking about how much melon bread she can eat.
After that, we continued towards our destination. Walking side by side with Sharona like this, it makes us look like a couple, right?
As we walked, there were various things that stole her attention, mainly the food vendors. I was forced to use the last of our money to buy her some apples. Then again, if she¡¯s having fun like this, it makes it all worth it. As her servant, the happiness of my mistress should be my priority, right?
While enjoying the sights that the peaceful clockwork town gave us, we finally reached the mansion of my client. Yet, however huge and beautiful this mansion may appear, Sharona¡¯s eyes were still glued to that giant clock tower. As if something possessed her to stay.
¡°Milady?¡±
I wonder what¡¯s wrong?
¡°Kekewne, what is that thing?¡±
¡°The clock tower?¡±
I stood by her side and watched the tower myself. There was really that energy that keeps sucking you in. That mysterious vibe. While I was drawn to this beautiful architecture myself, Sharona pulled my sleeve and spoke in a somewhat melancholy tone.
¡°I want to see what¡¯s inside.¡±
¡°Inside eh?¡±
Maybe there¡¯s something in that clock tower that can help her remember?

Chapter 5: Right In My Kokoro!
I haven¡¯t even had the chance to make my presence known and a girl wearing a black dress with white apron already greeted me on the front gate. We quickly made our way inside the spacious mansion and another maid took the box of medicine that I was carrying away.
As usual, no matter how many times I visited this mansion, it never ceases to amaze me.
Like a grand entree, there were a couple of stairs that flights on an arch shape, giving the gigantic door in the middle of this house a much more bigger impact. Various paintings and landscapes adorned the wall while this quartzite floors gives the mansion a natural yet elegant appearance. A pair of earthen vases stood like statues beside the stairs on top of an intricate stone pillar.
¡°Please sit for a moment, Mr. Kekewne. Master Vincent will be with you very soon.¡±
I obeyed her words and sat on the comfortable looking sofa the maid directed us to. Feeling the softness on my behind made me wish I have this at home. My mistress followed after me, her eyes darting around the area.
Another beautiful lady appeared and offered us some tea and snacks.
It would be quite rude to say no, so I reluctantly agreed.
¡°Servant, *nom* what type of place is this?¡±
My mistress asked, yet the cake was already traversing her mouth. I laughed and wiped away the small tidbits of frosting around her lips. She blushes for a moment but proceeded to devour even my own share.
¡°Haha, she¡¯s an energetic one, isn¡¯t she?¡± The maid says after clearing Sharona¡¯s empty plate.
¡°Yes, a little too energetic sometimes,¡± I replied back with a short sigh.
I lifted my fancy cup and drank the steaming liquid. I¡¯m not a tea person, but judging from the calming aroma alone gave me the impression this tea was expensive.
¡°Also¡how¡how¡¯s Nastassja?¡±
The maid chuckled after seeing me stutter for a moment.
¡°Haha, the lady¡¯s been meaning to see you. She gazes upon the streets behind her window everyday, waiting for your arrival.¡±
¡°I see¡ And her condition?¡±
¡°Unfortunately, her health hasn¡¯t progressed much since you last visited.¡±
¡°I¡¯m sorry to hear that.¡±
¡°Will you be visiting her?¡±
¡°If your grumpy master allows me to.¡±
The maid puts a hand on her mouth and laughs a little. ¡°You and Master Vincent are so¡ close?¡±
While we joke around, a superior voice echoed around that spacious room.
¡°Well, well, if it isn¡¯t the rat that hides in that stinky forest. Are you here for your cheese?¡±
The moment I heard that old man¡¯s voice, I sensed Sharona bristle beside me. Before she could even retort a witty statement, I gestured her to leave it to me.
I can already imagine this man playing with his fancy beard. And when he does that, it means that he¡¯s pissed.
I stood up and bowed my head. ¡°It is a pleasure to see you again Mr. Vincent. I have brought the medicine as you desired.¡±
I can hear his footsteps getting closer. His voice was much louder when he spoke again.
¡°If it isn¡¯t for the wonders of that witch, I would have you sent to the gallows by now.¡±
¡°I¡¯m sorry.¡±
¡°And who¡¯s this dirty girl you brought along?¡±
¡°My apologies, but it¡¯s not dirty girl. Her name¡¯s Sharona. She¡¯s also the one who concocted the medicine.¡±
¡°Hah?!¡± He roared. ¡°You want my daughter to drink something made my by this¡¡by this shady looking witch?¡±
¡°Yes. Although she¡¯s still lacking, I can vouch for the quality of her medicine. And master is currently away, leaving us no choice but to rely on her.¡±
I lowered my head as much as I could. My face was about to hit the table.
¡°Tsk, there¡¯s nothing we can do now, is there?¡±
¡°I can only apologize.¡±
¡°Hmph, sit down.¡±
I heard him bounce on the sofa in front of me, so I straightened to my back and sat once more. The first thing I noticed was Sharona glaring back at him. I¡¯m thankful that she kept her mouth shut and happy at the same time thinking she¡¯s willing to protest for me, but going against this old man could go beyond more than a single trouble.
I patted her head and she calmed down. The maid offered her more cakes and she started devouring them as fast as it landed on her table.
I looked back to Mr. Vincent. He¡¯s still quite in his prime. Maybe in his mid forties. But because of his hard headedness, I always described him as a grumpy old man, although his face and his lean build belies that. Nonetheless, I refuse to back down on that single regard.
There¡¯s a reason for the hatred of this old man and there¡¯s a reason as to why I must accept. This all happened because of me after all. Even though we¡¯ve had this process for almost a decade now, he still hasn¡¯t forgiven me for what happened to his daughter. And I can only blame myself for that.
The maid set a fancy cup in front of him and filled it with the same tea that I just drank.
¡°What took you so long?¡±
Mr. Vincent asked without even looking at me. He lifted his teacup and pressed it against his lips.
¡°Some complications occurred and I lost the flower in the process.¡±
¡°Will the new medicine do its job?¡±
Although he does not want me to see it, he showed a confused face. I understand his feelings. If a medicine you think was shady, and it was replaced by an even shadier one, you would hesitate without a doubt. Especially if it¡¯s recommended by a person you hate.
¡°It will and I¡¯m sure of it,¡± I answered with confidence. I shifted back to Sharona with a smile. ¡°I want you trust her as much I do. After all, despite our differences, we both want Nastassja to get better, don¡¯t we?¡±
I heard him sigh and the clanking of porcelain. ¡°Hmph, I¡¯ll trust her then.¡±
I returned my gaze to him. ¡°If you would allow it, can I see her for a while?¡±
To answer the serenity in my gaze, the old man slaps his hips and stood up.
¡°If Nastassja knew you came without visiting her, she¡¯ll nagged me about your visit to no end.¡±
¡°Can I also bring Sharona along?¡±
¡°Meh, she¡¯s here already. You can bring her.¡±
After he snorted and gave me his approval, I dragged Sharona away from the cakes. We followed the old man upstairs, straight to his daughter¡¯s room. I¡¯m not sure if it¡¯s due to his authority or excitement, but he didn¡¯t even bother to knock. It made me scratched my head knowing we just invaded his daughter¡¯s privacy.
As usual, the princess of this mansion was sitting on her bed. Her view was directed outside her window, down the lively streets. She¡¯s still on her pajamas and her legs were tucked in underneath her bed covers. Most of the furniture inside this room has the same color as her hair, which is pink.

¡°Heavy footsteps¡ Papa? Do I have visitors?¡±
She asked even though I¡¯m only standing a few inches away from her.
The old man sat beside her and held her hand.
¡°Yes.¡±
¡°Who is it?¡±
Mr. Vincent signaled me from his eyes to approach. And so I did.
¡°This smell? Kekewne?¡±
I did not say a word. Not even the old man did. Yet both of us were on the verge of tears. He understood it. He gave me the space and I sat beside this girl who can¡¯t even see.
¡°Nastassja¡it¡¯s me indeed,¡± I placed my hand on top of hers. ¡°How are you lately?¡±
She pressed her free hand on top of my face and traced my nose. After finding the pointy end, she pinched it and then she decided to laugh.
¡°Hehehe¡¡¡±
But after laughing, she displayed an expression as if she was lonely.
¡°Kekewne won¡¯t do the regular?¡±
¡°With your father in this room, I don¡¯t think so.¡±
Of course, I said that with the clear purpose of sending her father away. Mr. Vincent shot me glare so hot I feel like my back is burning.
¡°Papa¡¡can you leave us alone?¡± Nastassja requested.
I sensed the old man struggle behind me, but was quickly defeated by his daughter¡¯s sincere request.
¡°Alright, just call me if you need me.¡±
He left as quick as he said that. Each step he took would seem like it¡¯ll pounce a hole though. I guess that means he¡¯ll hang me later but that¡¯s not of my concern right now.
Nasatassja puckered her lips, as if she¡¯s waiting for me to kiss her there. However, the visible maids spying on us at the edge of her door made me rethink if I should do it or not. I never once kissed her there. It was always on the nose.
¡°Well, here goes¡¡±
I lightly squeezed her hand and nudged her left cheek. I felt guilty doing it but this sort of affection always cheers her up, so I swallowed whatever hint of shyness I have left and did it anyways.
¡°Rude¡¡± Nastassja complained. ¡°You promised you¡¯ll kiss me on the lips this time.¡±
¡°I¡¯m sorry¡ That aside, how¡¯s your condition?¡±
¡°I¡¯m good¡ª¡±
¡°Don¡¯t lie to me,¡± I interrupted her. ¡°You can¡¯t even walk anymore. How is that good?¡±
She clutched onto her bed covers and replied with a smile.
¡°I¡¯m totally fine. Kekewne should stop blaming himself already. It wasn¡¯t your fault to begin with,¡± Nastassja reached out and strokes my face. ¡°It wasn¡¯t your fault¡ nor was it my father¡¯s.¡±
As soon as my ears catches her words, I felt a stab in my heart. I wonder why, but no matter how many times she told me that, I still can¡¯t stop blaming myself.
¡°I promise¡ One day, I¡¯ll find a cure¡ Until then¡ Get better, okay?¡±
I wasn¡¯t able to control my emotions from cascading. Her fingertips lingered under my chin and then it traveled upward to my eyes. She softly brushed my tears aside, and she showed me a pure and captivating smile that made me smile to her in return. But no matter how much her smile makes me feel at ease, it still wasn¡¯t enough to mend my troubled heart.
¡°That aside, you have someone with you, correct? This smell is similar to Master yet its not for some reason,¡± she said softly, running the backs of her fingers up and down my cheek.
I gasped. Not sure how I¡¯ve forgotten, but I did and now my mistress would be mad I¡¯m sure. Another useless thing for me to think about. However, when I turned to look, Sharona was just crouching down with her head resting on her knees.
She seems to be sleeping? I stood up and carried her to the bed, beside Nastassja, and I returned to my original position. I guess the cake is to blame? She looks like she¡¯s having some sweet dreams too. Man, after eating and sleeping, she slept with a satisfied tummy.
¡°Haha,¡± I laughed. ¡°Well, it¡¯s hard for me to explain, but master is on a vacation trip¡ªI think. I found this girl, Sharona, on my master¡¯s absence. She¡¯s living with me in the pointy witch house for now.¡±
¡°Just the two of you?¡±
Even though she could not see me, Nastassja¡¯s eyes were squinting on my direction.
¡°Yes, but don¡¯t misunderstand. We haven¡¯t done anything inappropriate.¡±
¡°I haven¡¯t ask anything regarding that. Why are you being defensive?¡±
¡°Am not, but I knew you will if I haven¡¯t said so,¡± I patted her head and she blew on her cheeks. ¡°Anyways, I¡¯m gonna have some small talk with your father. I¡¯ll come back for Sharona, okay?¡±
I stretched up and took her face between my hands and bent, deliberately laying my lips on her forehead. That kiss lasted for a few seconds, until she was satisfied.
¡°Don¡¯t argue. Papa¡¯s just¡¡±
¡°I know¡¡±
I let go of her face and walked back to the maids, who for some reason, were busy cleaning something the moment I left the room. Before I could even open my mouth, they scrambled on all direction, as quick as the passing wind.
¡°What the hell?¡±
Currently, I¡¯m alone with Nastassja¡¯s ¡°papa¡± in his office. Mr. Vincent was busy signing some papers. I heard he started as a merchant¡ªfrom rugs to riches¡ªand now he has his own company that deals about various things.
¡°Your payments on the table, take it and be on your way,¡± He said curtly.
¡°Actually, before that, I have a question,¡± I hesitated, but asked him anyways. ¡°I heard from the old guard back in the front gate that you¡¯re looking to hire some man power? Something in regards to a small expedition?¡±
¡°Your point in asking me this?¡±
His reply was as if he¡¯s saying he¡¯ll flat out refuse whatever words that will come out of this mouth of mine.
¡°Is it possible for me to partake?¡±
¡°Do you know how utterly shameless you sounded just now? Nevertheless, if you have confidence in your fighting capabilities, then I wouldn¡¯t mind hiring you.¡±
¡°Ah! Thank you!¡±
¡°¡ªBut! On one condition.¡±
I almost jumped in joy, but that surge of happiness immediately stopped after he interrupted me. I knew this old man wouldn¡¯t be that easy to convince.
¡°What is this condition you want me to uphold?¡±
When I asked him that question, he puts his pen down and looks straight at me.
¡°Don¡¯t die.¡±
I think I heard him say something else, but my brain didn¡¯t want to recognize it.
Don¡¯t die, eh?
Chapter 6: My Mistress Decrees, The World Shall Obey
[Mek-pendragon] Here it is! Please let me know of any grammar errors and the like!
Chapter 6: My Mistress Decrees, The World Shall Obey
¡°Five rupee gold coins¡ This is quite a hefty sum even for a one time payment.¡±
I read the contents of the contract that Mr. Vincent handed me in regards to the small expedition we talked about. Confused about many things, I curiously asked another question.
¡°What type of ruins are we traversing exactly?¡±
Mr vincent stares at me, tapping his fingers on the wooden surface of his table.
¡°It is because of that reason that the pay is high. Either you take it or leave it. The carriage for the mines will leave in four days. If you want to partake, now¡¯s your only chance to sign up.¡±
I crossed my arms and tilted my head to think for a moment.
Indeed, the pay can be striking. A single rupee gold coin is enough to last me and Sharona a month of leisure. With that much money, I could buy her a lot of things and even have some leftover money on the side. It¡¯s a very tempting offer¡ªnot one that I could refuse easily. But because of how vague the informations were presented to me, I¡¯m having second thoughts.
Naturally, since were talking about Mr. Vincent, he thinks like a business man. Other than his daughter, everybody else can go to hell¡ªincluding me.
¡°So you¡¯re sending over twenty people to their deaths?¡±
After musing about it in my head, I couldn¡¯t help but say that.
Right after he heard my provocative question, he gave me a look as if I did not understand anything. That I am nothing but a naive child, clueless on how the world works.
Maybe that¡¯s also the reason why he did not retort me. He clasped his hands together and leaned forward, his expression retained neutral.
¡°So, what will it be?
¡°I¡¯ll join,¡± I answered without hesitation. ¡°I need the money so bad I¡¯m willing to compromise.¡±
¡°Good,¡± He leaned back on his chair and twiddled with his pen. ¡°Sign the documents and return in four days. Necessary equipment would be supplied on the job site.¡±
Following his instructions, I signed my name ¡°Kekewne¡± at the bottom left on this fine print. It feels like I¡¯m signing my death certificate, but I just laughed it off in my head. Hopefully, whatever troubles I would encounter in the near future would at least give me some space to run away.
I¡¯m not the type to dive headlong into danger like this, but who knows? This job might be worth the risks in the end.
After I¡¯ve finished my business in the Glenis household, I went straight to the clock tower, per orders of my mistress. The sun up high feels like it¡¯s burning my skin.
¡°Milady, do we really have to see the clock tower today?¡±
I asked my mistress, who took the same lazy position on my handcart. Her clothes disheveled and a different type of book was covering her face from the sun.
But it wasn¡¯t because of how hot it is that I wanted to go home. There¡¯s a gigantic crowd formed in front of the clock tower. Recalling what the old man in the gate had told me, this must be because of the princess¡¯s visit.
¡°Yep,¡± she shivered for a moment, but that¡¯s all she said.
I sighed and placed her on the side. A spot where the passing people wouldn¡¯t even pay attention to her. After that, I crammed in and pierced through the crowd of people, looking for a way to get inside.
¡°Sorry, sorry. Let me through please!¡±
It¡¯s as if we¡¯re fanatics dying to see our lord. Plowing through this crowd maybe harder than I thought, but I persisted. Still, to gather this much crowd on a place such as Sharona, the princess must be a celebrity. Well, she is a princess after all.
It¡¯s been a few decades since the Rukbein republic separated from the nobility. That¡¯s why noble visits like this are very rare occurrence. At least it is in my own opinion.
Onward, in front of the clocktower, three men stood with their feet planted on the ground. Other than their stern expressions that prohibits entry, their attire¡ªconsisting of a black vest on top of a white leather jacket with black leather pants and boots¡ªmade them seem important. Quite similar to that scary looking dude I came across to a few days ago.
That was all I saw until the crowd forces me back to where I originally started. Luckily, I landed on my butt.
¡°Ouch! Seems like our visit to the clocktower would have to be suspended.¡±
I stood up while massaging my behind and as soon I do, my mistress was already waiting for me. Her expression made me discern that she knew about my failure. She knew exactly what words would come out of my mouth.
¡°Sorry, the crowd is just too much. We can return some other day if milady wants?¡±
¡°No, I want to see what¡¯s inside this building today.¡±
While she was demanding, I shifted my gaze at the clock tower and refreshed my memory.
The interior of the clocktower was gigantic, even bigger than how you would imagine it inside. Bookshelves lined the wall on both sides while the gears to operate this gigantic mechanism are guarded by metals bars. Right in the middle of that vast room was a spiraling stairs that reach to the upper echelons.
According to the rumors I came across to while I was reading the tomes here, most of the books were written and gathered all over the continent by none other than the great Sharona herself¡ªthe greatest alchemist in the world.
Due to this treasure trove of information, the clock tower is heavily manned. Compare to the town entrance, the clock tower could be described as a castle. That¡¯s how important it is to the people here.
¡°Well, if milady has a plan on how to sneak past those guards, then sure. Why not?¡±
¡°Huhuhuhu,¡± she started laughing, as if I just asked something simple. ¡°Nyahahaha!¡±
¡°Eerm¡?¡±
While I was struggling on what to say, I noticed something different about her. Her eyes were lighted by that mysterious light, concealing her mesmerizing golden pupils at the same time.
This book''s true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.
It was not windy. Not windy at all. But my mistress¡¯s robe would seem like it would rip apart from the wind accumulating around her. Other than me, nobody seemed to have noticed this mystic occurrence.
¡°Milady?¡±
It wasn¡¯t just her strange silence. This feeling was exactly similar from the time that fire was devouring our house. I still don¡¯t know many things regarding Sharona, but it¡¯s as if she was a different person entirely when she behaves this way.
¡°Time alter: RE-CODE.¡±
She raises her right hand, and starting from the space generating around her, the crowd was swallowed in a monochrome world. Pieces by pieces, bit by bit, it¡¯s as if everything else cease to breath, except for the two of us.
My jaw dropped in surprise. Even then, that reaction was still insufficient on how omnipotent she appeared just now.
¡°Take me up there. Hurry!¡±
As soon as she proclaims that, a ticking sound reverberated in my ears. One, two, three¡ I couldn¡¯t help but count.
¡°Ah, screw it!¡±
On the fifth ticking count, I carried my mistress like a sack and bursted my legs into a running momentum. After passing through these guys I would think as the princess¡¯s guards, I rammed my shoulder on the arch door, forcing my way inside the clocktower.
More guards¡ªjust like the ones that were standing in attention behind me¡ªcirculated the stairs. Including the regular employees and the other staff members, everybody else froze in their spot.
I disregarded everything around me and continued upward.
Never in my wildest dreams have I expected to even visit the second floor. And yet, right now, we¡¯re trudging to go even higher.
*Pak, pak, pak, pak, pak, pak, pak*
On the one hundred thirty-seventh tick, I reached the end of the stairs, and counting from the small observation I made inside my head, this should be the eleventh floor.
Slowing from my fastest run to a jog, I gazed at my surroundings. Contrast to how wide the other floors were, this one is a lot smaller, and the layout made it seem like it¡¯s a hallway of books. This sudden change also gave me the impression that I¡¯m nearing the top.
¡°Sharona, *haaa* were almost there,¡± I tricked myself into believing that.
¡°*huff* *huff* Hurry¡¡± She was heavily panting.
This spell or whatever it is must be taking its toll on her. I need to hurry indeed. I can¡¯t disappoint my mistress now.
However, at the other side of the room was a man. He had a familiar posture, but from how far he was, I can¡¯t fully make sure. Behind him though, were the passage of stairs to reach the next level.
He gave me a bad feeling. I don¡¯t why. It wasn¡¯t because of that massive sword hanging on his back. I¡¯m sure of it. I continued my run anyways, thinking that I would just deal with it if it comes. My heart was beating louder by the second.
*tik, tik, tik, Swoosh!*
My fears rang true! On the one hundred fiftieth tick, just before I could take my first step up, an eerie sensation jolted through me. That feeling told me to jump, and so I leaped to my feet backwards, knocking a single bookshelf in the process.
¡°What the¡ You! How did you get here?!¡±
The man pointed his gigantic sword towards me. Seeing his scary face and sharp brown eyes up close finally summarized the thoughts in my head. It was the same guy I spotted in the city a few days ago. Judging from the suit he¡¯s wearing, this man might also be a princess¡¯s guard. His left arm though, was covered by a metallic gauntlet, large enough to substitute for a shield.
¡°If you don¡¯t answer, I will be force to cut you down,¡± He spoke once more, but this time, he took a proper stance. ¡°A kid like you slipping through the royal guard, you must be a trained assassin.¡±
How I¡¯d like him to at least notice the little girl I¡¯m carrying on my shoulder. But at times like these, when a guy like him makes a conclusion, it¡¯s futile to explain. I knew because I¡¯ve been dealing with Mr. Vincent for almost a decade now.
I patted Sharona¡¯s back and set her down. I merely stared into her sleepy eyes and she nodded her head. After that, my mistress walked some distance away from me and this guy.
¡°You scum, even bringing an innocent girl with you.¡±
Umm, more like it was me who was dragged into doing this mess?
Nonetheless, I don¡¯t expect him to understand my reason. If forcing my way through is the only way to advance, then I will do so!
I pulled the knife I concealed in my clothes. Unlike my usual gathering knife, this one is coated by a strong paralytic poison, hence the reason I wrapped it in bandages. A simple cut is enough to fully immobilize a grown elephant. I know because I¡¯ve tried it myself, and it worked.
¡°Before we start, is it possible for you to turn a blind eye and let us through?¡±
I figured I¡¯d make my reason clear before anything else. However, the man kept his words to himself. He raised his sword, his face now almost hidden due to the thickness of his blade.
I drew a long breath and spun the knife with my index finger. I caught it and fisted my right hand with my thumb applying the pressure on the handle. I unwrapped the bandages and stepped back. The now fallen bookshelf was on our center and we circled around it.
There was no signal to start.
The man leaped into my field and threw a slash. I almost lost track of his strokes, which were nearly too fast despite the large sword. One hit is all he needs to end my life. I understood that, so I focused on avoiding instead.
Defending is not an option. That giant sword would rip me apart along with my knife. He pressed onward and struck a blow, only to cleave another bookshelf in twain behind me.
It was the perfect chance for me.
I turned my knife and went straight for the tender side of his neck.
However, the moment I thought of that possibility, I caught a glimpse of his smile and a line of blood drew an arch in the air.
¡°............................Ah?¡±

Chapter 7: Death¡¯s Decay
.............ah.
Along with these dusty old tomes, I plummeted on the ground. It was foolish of me to think that that massive sword was all he got. If I could conceal a knife in my clothes, then why can¡¯t he? That presumptuous thinking led me to my demise.
My throats burning with something unpleasant, but an even greater feeling overwhelms that dreadful sensation. A deep ache spreads from my waist up to my right shoulder.
I moved my hand to trace the pain¡¯s origin. My fingers ran across something thick and gooey. I tilted my head to the side and looked. Just like the Piofonera''s petals, it was a beautiful red color.
.....................all of this.....is my blood?
As I check my own pool of blood, footsteps erupted all around me and add the multiple voices that echoed in this hallway, it made me wonder if I¡¯m simply hearing things. I can¡¯t think clearly. It feels like this cut on my chest is playing with my head.
¡°¡¡¡Sieg!¡±
¡°¡¡¡¡¡¡Wait.¡±
¡°¡¡Call for help!¡±
¡°¡¡¡¡It¡¯s too late, princess.¡±
Someone¡¯s fingers brushed my neck. I had no more strength to define whether my body was tensing or I¡¯m experiencing a tender gesture. The only thing that¡¯s clear was that the owner of those fingers moved my hair to the side.
Another warmth expanded on my cold left hand. My fingers intertwined with hers and as if electricity bounded our hands together. ¡°Hers¡±, because I know full well the owner of this small hand. She was clumsy, demanding, egoistic, but she made me feel important.
I tried to focus my hazy vision. The last time I saw that face, she had a sleepy expression. And now, all traces of that drowsiness is gone.
¡°¡¡¡¡¡sorry.¡±
Because of this warm liquid called blood purging my insides, that single word was all I could muster. I think they¡¯re still taking, one is even crying, but I could not properly hear anymore.
But that¡¯s all behind me now. Soon, everything will come to an end. Even this pain that¡¯s gnawing me apart, inside and out¡ªall will cease to exist.
¡°Kekewne!¡±
I heard a voice.
But just like a drop of water that loses its identity when it joins the ocean, I am unable to properly clarify. But because of that voice calling out to me, I gained confidence. Confidence to last amidst this bottomless pit of hell.
¡°Those wings that waved chaos on our land, those horns of death that stood out like a crown, those scales that emits an aura of supremacy, I remember you!¡±
¡°You, who decapitated my daughter, you, who burned my wife to ashes for fun, I will never forgive you! My skin still burns from the trembling heat of your breath!¡±
¡°Hahaha, finally! We have waited an eternity for this chance! You will rot here with us!¡±
¡°You killed us, Kekewne! You killed us!¡±
Good gosh¡ they got some issues.
Immediately upon opening my eyes, there were various floating entities that circulated around me. I call them entities because it¡¯s my first time seeing them.
Aside from my weird point of view, everything else seemed to function normally. My talons responded as if they were part of my body exactly from the beginning.
¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡Wait, talons? Didn¡¯t I have hands? Wasn¡¯t I a human? Or this is one of those mirages that plays with your mind?
That aside, I thought the world after my death would be filled with darkness, fitting for its name. A place that will burn your soul for eternity, and depending on how heavy your sins were, the deeper your soul would drown in that whirlpool of shadows.

However, from my vision, the underworld is quite a livable place. Albeit destructed and lonely, it seemed to have its own inhabitants. Although the weird organisms who lives here doesn¡¯t strike me as the friendlier ones, it makes me happy to think that it¡¯s not as devoid of life as I assumed it to be.
I figured I¡¯d say hi and ask for directions. But, the moment I opened my mouth to speak, a concentrated line of energy debuted instead of words, and that line of fire blasted a few mountains into smithereens.
A huge explosion occurred and the weird entities around me cursed me once more.
¡°Even in the afterlife, you dare to pester us?!¡±
¡°I will curse you, I will curse you, I will curse you, I will curse you, I will curse you¡ª¡±
Man, they¡¯re even worse than a psychopathic stalker.
I gestured to shoo them away, yet it only served to anger these vengeful spirits. In an attempt to rid myself of their overly familiar friendliness, my claws ripped through space and time, vacuuming these idiots inside a vortex where they¡¯ll continuously perish.
Oooops! Hopefully, the lord of the underworld wouldn¡¯t mind!
Still, what type of abomination have I transformed to?
As much as I like to go insane, I felt like that was just the beginning on how weird things ¡°had¡± become. I decided I want to return to my older self, and I suddenly shrank to the size of this world¡¯s residents.
My talons returned to being hands, but they¡¯re still covered by these dark scales and I feel like I sprouted wings on my back too. Something was also bothering me on top of my head, so I reached to it; and I realized I¡¯ve grown a pair of horns.
¡°¡¡¡¡¡¡Ah, is this really the afterlife?¡±
I questioned myself. It seems like I can speak without causing destruction now.
¡°Have you asked yourself what the underworld looks like? What will you see after you died?¡±
Another spirit levered to my side. From the tone of his voice, he seemed like a wise old man.
¡°I have not. I¡¯ve read some books, but nothing in regards to a place like this.¡±
¡°Hehehehe¡¡¡±
¡°What¡¯s so funny?¡±
¡°There is no escape. Once you land here, you¡¯re to rot in this menacing darkness until your mind breaks, and after that, you will suffer the same fate as these foolish souls.¡±
His ghastly skeletal hand pointed to the vengeful spirits gathering around me.
¡°They run on nothing but negative emotions. Burning hatred to the very being that led them to their demise.¡±
¡°So you¡¯re saying I killed these spirits?¡±
¡°Not just killed. You ruined their lives! Ahehehehe!!¡±
Just when I thought I found someone with a clear head, it was just another lunatic in disguise. Already, I want to stop thinking about things. If I¡¯m to rot here as he speaks, then so be it. It¡¯s not like I don¡¯t believe in what he just said, but when and how did I ruined these people¡¯s lives?
While I was musing about pointless things, I started to walk. I have no particular destination, and the only thing I could see around me is destruction. Aside from the gigantic tree standing tall in the middle of this ¡°afterlife¡± that is.
The boundaries which divides truth and lies, life and death, are at best shadowy and vague. Just like how I¡¯m feeling right now.
It may or may not answer my questions, but I followed my curiosity to where it led me to.
I guess that would mean infiltrating a certain library was a heavy sin? It''s the reason why I was sent here, right?
I also feel like I¡¯m forgetting something, something important, but I decided not to bother with that uncertain feeling in my chest.
All I did was continued to walk.

Chapter 8: Molested By A Goddess?!
¡°Halt! A putrid dragon like yourself has no place here. Begone you lost soul.¡±
A pair of ¡°reapers¡± obstructed my way. These scythe wielding spirits introduced themselves as such. The vengeful spirits that hanged around me like a shadow called them enforcers of the afterlife. According to their menacing laughters, these beings in front of me are a force to be reckoned it seems.
¡°What lies ahead that you do not want me to see?¡±
I responded to their provocations with an attitude that didn¡¯t seem to care. Having a gigantic tree planted in the core of these barren wastelands made it look important. My only concern is to see what lies ahead¡ªwhether these reapers are in agreement or not.
¡°That¡¯s none of your concern, dragon.¡±
¡°Meh, is that so? I¡¯ll go anyways.¡±
I nonchalantly continued my walk, only to be halted by the reapers once again.
¡°This is your last warning. Withdraw, unless you want your soul cut in twain.¡±
The reapers brandishes their sharp looking scythes in an attempt to scare me. However, with the current me, I can¡¯t seem to feel afraid no matter how fearsome they become.
¡°Hmph, try me.¡±
¡°You¡¯ll regret defiling us.¡±
The air was still and soundless, apart from the flapping of my wings. I slowly levitated from the ground and flew high up. I felt something sharp swooped overhead. It was the reaper¡¯s scythe.
While the other reaper threw its weapon like a spinning projectile, the other chased me above ground. It was spinning its scythe as if they were one, and with each strike towards me, a vengeful spirit dissipates into nothingness.
¡°I see. So all I need is to avoid getting hit.¡±
The dark sky even darkens, and thunderstorms started raining on my direction. Not the lucid thunderstorm that I¡¯m used to seeing, the color of those bolts were crimson, and each strike seemed to penetrate the cracked soil quite deeply.
I tried to avoid both strikes, but with me still getting used to having wings, it was tough to manage my course.
¡°Aaaargh!!¡±
I screamed the moment they surrounded me, and a deadly shock wave generated around me as the core. I grabbed the reaper¡¯s skeletal head as it staggers.
¡°Dissappear.¡±
I merely thought of erasing it, and the same malicious energy that blew mountains apart gathered in my palm. Cracks started to appear on the reaper¡¯s head, and in the next instant, that dark energy concentrating in my palm obliterated it to ashes. That region of space where my energy descended disappeared without trace.
I said it before but I¡¯ll say it again.
¡°Hopefully, the lord of the underworld wouldn¡¯t mind.¡±
I turned around to face the remaining reaper. It was just floating there, silently holding its scythe without mentioning a single world. Or so I thought. Because of its unchanging expression, it was hard for me to discern if it¡¯s actually doing something. But the moment I caught a glimpse of its mouth moving, I immediately thrust my hand on its head, my fingers pumping a sharp hole on its solid bones.
¡°Sneaky bastard, you¡¯re trying to cast a spell, huh¡ª¡±
My calm demeanor disappeared, when out of nowhere, multiple swords landed on my shoulders, pierced me behind, struck my heart and drilled various holes on my chest.
Was this supposed to be a sure kill technique? Cause I can¡¯t feel anything in regards to what I call pain. While blood was indeed flowing down on my lips, my senses remained normal.
¡°Hehehehe! Die!¡±
Even with my hand thrusted on its skull, the reaper laugh maniacally, speaking of my supposed death. It reaffirmed its position and I noticed its hand tightly gripping the long metal handle of its scythe.
Before it could start swinging, I slashed my hand downward, ripping the skeleton in two, and with my other hand, I disposed of the reaper similar to what I did with the first one.
¡°Whew, hopefully, that¡¯s all of them,¡± I sighed as my feet touched the ground.
One by one, I started taking out these blades stuck on my body parts. My wounds healed instantly, the moment that gap opens after I pulled the swords.
Of course, not feeling any pain even after my heart was pierced definitely confused me. But with how abnormal things had traverse ever since I got here, I decided to just accept that it was the truth. It could be regarding the sudden change in my body. I don¡¯t really know, but it hit me that it has something to do with that.
How did I even acquire this overwhelming strength?
Is this part of my transition in the afterlife or is this the real me?
It felt like whatever conclusions I might reach, I would end up regretting it in the end. Something that I would just hope I didn¡¯t knew.
But since I¡¯m here already, I decided to pursue the path leading to this gigantic tree. I hovered and flapped my wings the rest of the way. It would be foolish of me not to use such a convenient body part, is what I thought.
With this, I quickly reached the middle.
I stood on top of a healthy grass that comes up to my knees. The air smells clean and crisp around it, and the gigantic tree leaves that laid passive on that grassland gave me the inkling that it would feel comfortable to use them as bed sheets.
I smiled and picked up some flowers.
¡°Arara, what do we have here? It¡¯s quite unbecoming of a mighty dragon such as yourself to be around picking flowers. Have you grown tired of destroying the world again and again?¡±
Some wind blew behind me, accompanied by an enchanting voice of a lady who seemed like she¡¯s confined herself inside a tower, where nobody can reach her, for centuries. That was the impression that she gave me, just from hearing her beautiful voice.
I spun around. I don¡¯t know what inclined me to do it, but I approached her and slid that flower on her left ear. Seconds later, and I only realized I¡¯m standing in front of a splendid figure. I wasn¡¯t talking about her bountiful breast that was wrapped beautifully by a single piece of white cloth crossed around her neck. And definitely not because her attire was so revealing I can see her belly button.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
Her hair is as fresh as these grasses, further emphasizing her compassionate gaze. Her eyes, no matter how crimson, showed a sense of audacity. Maybe that¡¯s also why I felt so comfortable around her. Because I am the same. Sometimes.
¡°You¡¯ve changed a lot, brother.¡±
¡°Have I? I don¡¯t really remember. Wait, did you just call me brother?¡±
¡°Yes, according to the ancient pact, that is our relationship,¡± she placed her hands on her back and leaned forward, as if she was studying me all over. ¡°Hehehe, brother looks confused.¡±
I kept my mouth and sucked the air in my nose. My heart pounded so hard in my chest. Perhaps it was due to her smelling like a flower I¡¯m so familiar with, yet I can¡¯t remember. It certainly wasn¡¯t coming from the one that I just slid on her ear.
¡°I am confused,¡± I finally managed to speak despite the seductiveness this girl had become. ¡°Tell me, why am I here? What is this place? And what do you mean by ancient pact?¡±
¡°One at a time, dear brother. One at a time,¡± She put a hand on her mouth and held her laughter inside. ¡°That aside, shouldn¡¯t brother be asking for my name first?¡±
¡°Name? Sorry, that was rude of me. Umm, may you grant me the pleasure of knowing who you are?¡±
That sounded really weird. I¡¯m embarrassed of myself for saying those cheesy words, but there¡¯s no turning back now. It left my mouth, so what needs to be done needs to be done.
¡°I can¡¯t refuse brother if he ask so sincerely like that, right?¡±
She sounded so happy, I almost felt guilty. I nodded my head and she started.
¡°Well, my name¡¯s Aestrea. I govern this realm of life and death or what the people in the surface refer to as the underworld. I guide these poor spirits to their destined reincarnation.¡±
One of the spirits circulating around me flew to her and followed the movements of her index finger. The spirit spun merrily, as if forgetting the words it used to cursed me from before. Eventually that spirit disappeared and it left white particles. And those particles gathered and became a ball of light.
¡°It sounds easy, yet it sounds so confusing at the same time. How do they exactly reincarnate?¡±
As I asked that, she guided the ball of light towards the tree. It passed through inside and I felt the tree react to it. Soon, a single flower sprouted on the ground, just a little bit where we stand.
Aestrea knelt and gaze at the flower. ¡°See? I¡¯m not so stingy as Wuxeria. Without me, these souls would be lost forever.¡±
¡°I still don¡¯t understand. What about the ones that dissipated from the fight I had earlier? If you govern this realm, then you surely knew about those reapers, correct?¡±
I chose my words carefully. Aestrea lifted herself up and faced me, and when she did, she was puffing her cheeks. I was expecting a nasty reaction, something that will show her true colors, but it seems like I was wrong.
¡°If I don¡¯t have guards, spirits will be begging me to revive them to no end! Even if I¡¯m not stingy, even I needed my rest! And they needed to be disciplined anyways.¡±
Man, so much for being the mistress of the underworld, you act and sound like a child.
¡°You still haven¡¯t answered my question. What will happen to them?¡±
¡°They¡¯re gone.¡±
¡°Gone?¡±
¡°Indeed, they can no longer reincarnate.¡±
After she finished saying that, she revealed her scythe. It was blood red¡ªthe same color as her eyes¡ªand soon, tattoos of the same color appeared and glowed on her clear white skin.
¡°Brother, you wish to reincarnate, right? You wish to live once more.¡±
Ah, I have so many questions for her, but it feels like she¡¯s ready to end this meeting. As unfortunate as that sounded, I fisted my hands and answered her with determination.
¡°I do.¡±
¡°Then why do you wish to live again? If a man hasn¡¯t discovered something that he will die for, he isn¡¯t fit to live.¡±
For some reason, her words pierced me inside. My skin sears and the overwhelming pain in my chest could not be compared to when I was stabbed earlier.
Why did I even want to return? I feel like I could ask that question for as long as I live and I¡¯ll still not reach a conclusion. However, my instincts told me that I have to do it. I have to return.
¡°I don¡¯t know why, but I think¡¡ I think someone is waiting for me. That¡¯s why.¡±
¡°Hehehe.¡±
She laughs softly, but with that scythe she held behind her back, she doesn¡¯t look cute at all! Rather, it feels like she¡¯s plotting something without me knowing. Or I¡¯ve completely fallen to her web. She¡¯s giving me an overwhelming sense of peril.
¡°As I said, I¡¯m not stingy like Wuxeria, I can return brother back to where you belong, for a price. Are you ready to pay that price to live once more?¡±
Damn, I knew it wouldn¡¯t end like how I want it to.
¡°Alright, tell me what I have to do.¡±
¡°Take this. Once you¡¯ve returned, you¡¯ll know what that sword is for.¡±
A black sword with a dragon¡¯s claw embedded on the handle. As menacing as it looks, it also gave me the feeling that it¡¯s alive.
¡°What is¡ª¡±
¡°See you later brother!¡±
It was soft, tender, and delicious. She pressed her lips against mine for a quick moment, and after that, she swung her scythe at my direction.
However, my mind was so bewildered I haven¡¯t had the chance to collect myself.
I think¡ I just lost my first kiss?
And only then, after I realized, that everything turned into blackness.
