A smirk started to form on my face as I glanced toward the alarm clock close to our king sized bed. -7:30- *Best get dressed* Alexander thought. As he made his way to the closet of his bedroom. The closet had a array of outfit. From the common Blue jeans and T-Shirt to the higher class of Suit and Tie with matching pants. Limited and 3- 4 of each kind to keep back on cost. Even though he could afford better he felt that if he had extra money it should go to his daughter or wife since his only real wants was to see their smiles. Since today was a big day for his wife and daughter he put on his favorite grey wool professors jacket and a burgundy button up shirt with matching grey khaki pants. He looked at him self in the mirror. His eye are a hazel, blending blue, green and brown and at times changing to them in their entente. Kind eyes that when pushed turned harder than the hardest stone. His hair was balding on top now, showing bit of premature grey alluding to wisdom within its depths. Wrinkles around his once modest face showing a peace that few achieve and fewer actually show. " Damn, I''m not even half my fathers age and still look like his brother!" he mumbled as he saw the man staring back from mirror. "I guess it could be worse...i could look like my grandpa John." He straightened his jacket and left the room to go down the stairs to find his daughter at the table half asleep eating her eggs as his wife had just finished putting our food on the table and was make her self a cup of coffee. He sneaked *wants to type snuck* up behind her slowly. Looking to his daughter and putting his finger making a silencing motion. She smiled noticing what her father was about to do. As his wife was about to turn around he jumped forward making a loud "Woof" like sound scaring his wife almost making her spill her coffee. Him and Rebecca started to laugh, to the ire of Christina. Sensing the approaching danger and with all hope to stem it he kissed his wife with as much passion he could muster. - Three years later- Alexander was returning from a lecture on the many types of pre-historic people and the once in which he found. And as you might have deduced out of the last sentence he is a Historian of some regard after a few archeological digs that panned out. Making him famous and enough money to retire which he took as a cue to become a simple teacher. He had told his wife that he would be coming home tomorrow in hope to give her a good surprise. He always loved giving her and his daughter pleasant surprises. The shock and happiness made every moment he had with them all the more sweeter. He had a plan in which he would hire a cab from the airport. Take it a block away from his house and sneak in through the backdoor and jump out from behind the couch when Christina returned from the movies with Rebecca. Christina had told him over the phone last night, before he got on the plane, that they would go see a movie since it was once Rebecca had been wanting to see. With that in mind he figured he would give them a nice surprise. He did as plan but while in the cab he remembered to call his best friend Mike. Mike is a lawyer by trade and was pretty good at it. " Hey Mike its Alex how have you been?!" -Alexander- "Hey guy, I''ve been good. How''s Christina and Rebecca?" -Mike- "They have been good. Been away at a conference was wondering if you want to go out for drinks tomorrow night? You know, like old time." -Alex- "Hm... I don''t drink anymore but I like food so lets grab a bite instead." -Mike- "That an even better idea! Want to bring the wives? " -Alex- "Yeah that will work." Mike " Alright I''ll call you later to make the plans." Alex "Later guy." Mike The call ended as the driver stopped where he want to be. He got out of the cab after handing him a $50 which was a little extra but he did care. He began his way to his house. As he got closer to the house he noticed his bedroom light on near the top of his 2 story suburban home. This struck his as odd. But he just changed his plan. He would sneak into the house and surprise them with something else. Him not sure what yet. He walked to his house in a normal fashion now but instead of making a loud noise when opening the door with the key they had under the door mat he entered the house. The lower levels of the house where dark. With a creaking sound coming from above. This shocked Alex... but he quickly gained his senses. And Stalked up the stairs to the left of the front door making sure to miss the third step that would undoubtedly creak if any pressure was put on it. At the top of the stair their was a hallway which led to the left and right . The creaking was louder up here...he heard moans...his vision started to black out. "No...must keep control... even if it kills me." Alex thought not daring to solidify his thoughts He walked slowly not able to creep...holding his breath. His and his wife''s room door was left ajar letting a slit of light show. As he neared the sounds became louder. "Let her just be materbating...yes just porn...by all the gods from old to new let it be that..." he prayed, never believing in any of that his whole life. As he closed in at looked through the slit his hard left him and a coldness that could only be compared to death overtook his thoughts. "Cheat..liar...fool...death...agony...BETRAYER..." Ancient and new curses sprouted from his mind but none left his mind as he saw his wife. Moaning...Panting like a dog in heat loving every minute with some man that Alex has never seen. Then as Alex thought he was about to lose all control of his body a calmness overcame him. It was a calm...a focus that destroyed worlds. He took out his phone and took a picture making sure to turn off the sound. He then left the house. Slowly...methodically one could say... making sure not a trace of him being there was left. Once he was outside the front door, with the key back under the mat he walked far enough away that no one in the house could hear him. He took out his phone and called Mike. "Mike,Can you do me a favor." Alex said coldly This scared Mike. Alex was many things ,but cold..No never. "What happened Alex?" There was fear in Mikes voice. "Will you do me a favor Mike, I need an answer." Alex again...cold " Of course man I would go to hell and back for ya. " Mike said in earnest try to puzzle out what happened to turn his friend into someone cold,someone...emotionless. "Good...I''ll be at your house in twenty minutes...you will understand then." Alex hung up. Mike was scared. He had seen his friend like this once and that was when some drunk man tried to rape his 16 year old sister. She got away unscathed but the other man was still in a coma. And that was when Alex was 14. When he got angry to a certain point it turned into a cold, void that would swallow up all emotion. I was asked how it happened and he said " My anger turns into a burning flame in my mind...it consumes all other emotions then at last it consumes my hate and anger making me...void." Alex had just walked through the little picket fence in front of Mikes home when he finally notice that he had walked the 2 miles without noticing it. Sweat hung to his old, now worn wool blazer he had been given by his grandfather before his passing. He looked at it for a moment before heading to the door. "I''m gonna have to have a tailor five this again..." the thought kinda echoed within his mind trying to fill the void. He raised his hand to the door and when bringing it down to knock it swung open. *Thud* He hadn''t noticed the door open and hit Mikes little wife on the forehead. "Sorry Crystal...is Mike home?" He said coldly trying to put some warmth into his voice...it never reached. Alex almost fell as his friends wife... his sister tackled him sobbing. Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author. "Yeah, Alex I''m here..." Mike knelt down gently nudging Crystal to let go so everyone could come inside and find out what happened. After a few minutes they finally made it into the house and they all sat in there relatively large living room the two plush couches, a stroking chair and two recliners. "We should all sit...please." Alex''s voice still frosty nearly made Crystal jump at him. Mike was all that held her back. She knows somethings bad...very bad. "Are the girls ok?!?!" Crystal yelled after they sat down hoping they were fine. Alex started off for a moment... then spoke. "I fear....no that not it..." a deep agony barely escaped his voice. He felt his pocket taking out his phone. He seemed to be looking at something...visible shaking. Then he looked back to Crystal and Mike. They have been barely holding themselves back from strangling him.. Hold them in suspense for more that 10 minutes. He handed the phone to Mike. "..." "...no..." came out almost as a gasp as he looked back up to Alex. "Wait...what...how...rape...no..." These thoughts flashed through his mind. Crystal peeked over his shoulder and saw the photo. She flew the 4 feet between her and her brother Alex. And started to hug him, tears streaming down her face patting his back whispering "Hush little one...hush... everything will be fine... she will pay... oh how she will pay." His face was wet. "Why...I''m not sad anymore...am I?" thoughts like these pierced the void. Making to crumble all around him leaving him bear... the hate was muffled...drowned in sorrow and agony. -The Next Morning- Alex was asleep on Mikes couch while Crystal and Mike were typing the divorce paper. Crystal had told Alex that she would fix it. It was her job as his older sister, wasn''t it? " So who do you think should deliver these to her?" Mike asked looking towards his wife as he was finishing the legal bit of the documents. "Oh let me my dear sweetest." a predatory smile crept onto his wife face. "I...I think i will...I don''t want to have to make a jail break." His thoughts were not of the safety of that... that whore but of that of his wife. -Two Hours Later at Alex''s Home- *Knock* Knock* "Hey Mike how are ya?" Christina said as she opened the door. Mike was angry but a few years in the Military and some time as a Lawyer helped him hide it. "Good. Here. Sign this." He said in as normal voice he could muster... Okay he him self might kill her but he is holding back as much as possible. She looked at the papers. "What are these Mike?" She asked a little scared "Divorce proceeding papers. Leaving you with enough money to go die some where." Okay he thought I tried. " Why Mike! Does Alex know of this?!?" She said a outraged. "Yes... he came home early last night." anger showing in his voice now. Christina paled. Eyes bulging as she knew what would happen next. "Sign the papers Christina you have already caused to much pain!" his knuckles cracked holding him back. "Is there no way to fix this..." she muttered this. "No. He saw you and...that...man..." he chewed on those words as if they were the vilest of vile. Her hands were trembling now. She knew she messed up. She finished signing the documents. "Where is Rebecca." Mike hope she was out...for her mothers sake. "She stayed at some friends... she is suppose to come home at noon today." she was looking down at her hands in horror as it finale dawn on her what she had done. "You are to be out of the house by the Court hearing." Mike said as he briskly walked away. "This is Channel Twelve New with heart wrenching news! Earlier today it was found that the wife of one Alexander Roe ""The Leading Mind to our Past"" has commuted suicide by hanging herself, later at ten!" Alex turned the television off in his sister house. "No...that cant be...I just picked up Rebecca...how..how can that be even possible." "She was fine...wasn''t she?" " I mean she begged me to come back in which i shot her down as if she were lead and I gravity." "She cheated on me...so why does this heart more than that...no that''s not what hurts...Rebecca saw the news." These thought barrage his mind as he looks over to his daughter. She''s weeping, I cradle her in my arms as I did when she was so small...her dark sandy blonde hair,Reminds me of her mother. Her eyes are my grand fathers though, one is blue and the other a hazel green. "Such pain." I stroke her hair, not saying a word. She does not know what happened and i wont hurt her more with the truth. My baby girl needs to see the mother she thought was there not the one that was. -Time Skip- Three Years *Loves his 3 year time skips* August 1 2026 It''s Rebecca''s 17th birthday today. "Hey Dad!" she yelled from across the living room. I had just finished selling the old house and was about to put the paper work up when she barged through the front door. " Hey kiddo, how was school?" I look older...wiser now. I had started to grow a beard now to make the student have to guess my age. But I digress, I look toward my little girl, or should I call her woman now...nah little girl makes her get all bristled like a cat. I''ll stick to that. "Don''t you hey kiddo me! Why did I have to go to school today!" she fumed. Oh that were she was. "Today''s Monday right?" She looked me into the eye and shook her head, yes. "And on Mondays you go to school right?" This time she clenched her fist." It''s summer break, Alexander." "Oh my this is so much fun" I snickered in my mind, must not show it though. "Well I couldn''t have you here now could I?" I said while putting a little shock in my voice. That got her attention. She''s still mad though." And...why is...THAT...father dearest..." Oh my she seems to be smelling the air...maybe searching for perfume...no wait when did she become a bloodhound?"Well might as well drop the act." I thought. "I had you birthday gift installed while you were gone." Oh that really got her ears to perk up. *humored old man laugh* "What is it? Is it a car?! Is it ,is it!?" While saying that she started toward the garage. "Nope!" I called out toward her. "It costs a lot more that a car,little-one." I smirked at that she hate me calling her that now. She wiped around and stormed towards me.Is that the toaster...what is she gonna... uck. "Damn it girl!" I yank the toaster out of her hand before she goes for the second blow to the head. "I need that you know! Damn kids and their anger!" I grab her by the scruff of her collar carry her to her room. "When did you get so strong DAD!" she was going nuts trying to get away. "When god deemed it a funny sight to see you tossed into your room with no supper and a $20k capsule for games!" *Author high-fives MC* That shut her up , seems she also stopped fighting. " I can walk now dad...I''m sorry." she said the first part nicely, but ended with a mumble. "Are you going to behave...if not..." he lets the threat hang as he turns her around and looks her in the eyes. She seems to have become scared, and sheepish trying to hide behind her own hands. "Yes...papa." What the absolute hell has happened to her this time! I let out a puff of air. "This kids gonna be the death of me." I mumble "Go get ready I''ll go make dinner." I say as I turn around and head down the flight of stair we just went up. Really though how the hell did i pick her up like that? I make it to the kitchen without any stray toaster hitting me in my money maker. And i start to cook something simple. "Whats for dinner dad!" I heard Rebecca call from the bathroom. "The easiest and best thing I know of!" I call back. "Dad...I''m so sorry... anything but that!" she called back scared. I''m not that bad a cook...screw it. "Do you want Yangs or Pe-King!" I call back. She walks into the kitchen with the phone. "It''s already dialed." She says smiling. End of Chapter Note- I truly hope everything is alright. I am re-uploading everything in a larger more compact way, -End of Chapter 1- Thoughts and Idea Thread As a odd ball who after one to many 12+ hour FF reading sessions and had a story screaming in his head to be told or at least put into a physical form. It tapered off after the first 5 chapters. That does not mean I wont make this go as long as possible. It just means instead of 1-2 chapters a day who lengths may vary it would be 1-2 chapters ever 3-4 days. Was hoping to make this as a freindly think tank so to open up the branches. I also have a email if you want to send me one with your idea. I truly am open to almost all Ideas. I am sorry but i dont see a Harem ending for him... maybe a reverse harem for his daughter who knows. Hahaha News and Updates I am mashing all the little bits together for future readers. I am sorry to those who have been reading. Chapter 2: The New World Sacred Heart By: DIO Start of Chapter 2: The New World After dinner Rebecca scurried off to her room. Leaving me to the clean up as per usual. I took the time while cleaning to think of what has happened in the past three years starting with my ex-wife. Her cheating and death lead to a few inconveniences for me and my daughter. First and foremost was the fact it left my daughter with one less role-model in which to find a way to live her future. My sister tried to pick up that role and was able to teach her some things a father... well yeah. I suppose Rebecca blames me for her mothers death. She seems so angry towards me at times and then as if forgetting why she is angry is somewhat tolerable. Well i suppose that''s a burden I will bear so she won''t have the happy memories of her past taken away. I can live with hatred but...I fear she would hate us both and completely cut herself off. I had finished and was heading to my room. It was in the farthest reach of the home away from the other 3 rooms. One of those was for Rebecca and the other two were for guests or Storage. With connected bathrooms for each room. I entered my room to find it as i left it earlier that day. My desk a unkempt mess of papers and thick volumes of historic manuscripts. My walls were fill wish novels, may be fact or fiction they lined my shelves. In an empty nook to the far left of the room was my Capsule that I bought in secret when i got my daughters. Hers was a simple white while mine was a sleek black. It cost double since I use it to have longer to read and work. i had downloaded to it my library and quite a few more scriptures i needed to write a thesis on in order to pull in some money for my daughter''s college fund. And i like new toys like these capsules and the game I had bought my daughter and I. It is the first of its kind. A completely new world my magic and might. Begone science and welcome the mystical and unknown. The creators of the game took ideas from novels, manga, and in some areas comics to game a more complex and harder to beat game. Which was at the moment about to launch it''s Online status. I opened it to see a black gel like material that formed to the contour of your body that would send signal to your muscles and brain so as to help with muscle loss in hardcore players. I lay down and started the capsule. "Do you wish to start Shattered Memory or go to your Library?" I pleasant female said. He found himself in a white void. "I wish to enter Shattered Memory." I replied. Everything around me started to shimmer as if a mirage. My surroundings had changed, it seems i was floating above ground being held there by some unknown force. "Welcome to New Avalon. May we start with your Avatar creation Wayward Soul?" I deep voice penetrated the silence that was before. "Um, sure." I hesitated. This was odd, felt so real and yet I knew it was not. The air in front of me shimmered. And out of the air came my doppelganger. "Damn, I seem to have aged even more...and I lost more hair. Well I suppose I can fix that now." "I am right that if I tell you what I want you can manage to change my appearance to that right?" I said out loud for the voice to hear. "Yes,and I''m not just a voice I am the God of this world." "Oh,Neat. Let''s get started then." "Ok. I believe I am finished with my get-up." Alex said with a sly smile on his face. He had my a few minor changes with his physical body. As in reducing the fat that plagued his sides known as "Love Handles" and made his gut more of a straight line. He wasn''t fat it just gave the illusion of too many Twinkies or too long a time at his desk. He kept his bushy beard that went down to his chest, while he thickened the hair on his head and added length. The muscles tone was increased a little as not to make him look to much like a warrior but more closer to someone in very good shape. His height was the same though, he thought about decreasing it. But 6''5" *1.96m* was suppose to be a good height. He made his hair go back to that of his youth in color. A dark blonde that in that past few years greyed out making him look old. But now before him stood his younger counterpart. The spitting image of his youth *with a couple embellishments*. The eyes though he considered his only truly nice feature. "Do you wish to change the your Race? We have two other races available at the moment." The God asked me. Two other bodies shimmered into existence right next to my human form. They looked like me but...not. Once was a pretty elven male with less of a beard and just a stubble of one. He had pointed ears and high cheekbones, with fair skin. "Is this guys suppose to look like the beard woman after a shave?" I asked the God. I heard something akin to someone trying to hold back their laughter and failing. Then I heard two voices this time. One was the deep voice and another was more female voice but it still had the intensity of the voice of the God. "I''m not that funny..." Alex thought while scratching the side of his beard. He started to look at the shorter fellow on the other side of his human form. "Hmm... a dwarf. Looks like Gimli from the Lord of the Rings movies." he thought to the backdrop of the laughing gods who seem to be getting a hold of themselves. " Truly odd beings theses AI gods... Note to self do not go to church in this world...too many crazies. The laughter had just ended. " I have decided to stay human and male...don''t want to meet my daughter in the game and proceed to have an awkward conversation." They snickered at that. " Alright. With that you are almost done with creation process. Now we need a Name and a place in which to send you. "Can''t think of one...why don''t you throw me one. And we can see if it fits." There was silence for a few seconds. Then the female voice squeaked out. " Call him Lews!" Alex raised his eyebrow. "Um...miss i do not believe i have not earned the title Kinslayer." A young girl whose age I could only guess to be is 9 shimmered into existence a few feet in-front of me where the dwarven body use to be. At the same time a older man most likely in his 70''s materialized next to her. The older man spoke." I am sorry if she might have insulted you. She seems to just blurt out whatever comes to mind if asked." He finished look down to the little girl. She was wearing a white robe that fluttered around her naked feet. She had her hands scrunched up and covering her chin. "No it''s fine. He was a good man until his arrogance lead to the taint of Saidin and then his madness that broke the world...anyway why not try again?" Alex said smiling toward the young child. She squirmed thinking of another name. " uh...What about um... Smeagol." she whispered. Alex smiled . "Kyoki!"she shouted angry at his smiling. He stopped smiling. "Yeah, that should work." He was rubbing the top of his head thinking. "I have heard that work before..." "Alright now that is done its time to send you down to the New Avalon!" The man shouted and smiled at the transaction that had just transpired. "Which town or city do you which to go?" he asked Alex. A map started to materialize in front of Alex''s vision. " Anywhere is fine." he said before the map began to solidify. " I really do not want any knowledge of this world before I start." he thought as the map vanished before he spotted something he recognized. "Shit hope that wasn''t what i thought it was." Were his last thoughts before a flash of intense light engulfed his senses and blacked out. --------------------------------- *As the light faded I found myself floating once again. This time the content was laid before me. To my east a large forest with little villages dotted throughout being connected by a large snake like river. To my west were planes. They were barren for what I could see. Ah, and to the south where villages nestled next to the ocean. And to my north was a mountain. Or a better description would be a tower, the likes our world with its technology would never achieve. It looked to be a beacon to those who were lost. As the sun shone from west to east this grand marvel of the gods.* ------------------------------------- Speaking of Gods the little girl from before stood in front of him. ¡°Hello there.¡± Alex said with a hint of questioning. ¡° Hey.¡± The little goddess said with red cheeks. ¡° I hate to be rude but where am I?¡± And why are you here. I wanted to add but hating to be rude to the young thing. Enjoying this book? Seek out the original to ensure the author gets credit. The young goddess answered after a few moment seeming to fight with herself on how to answer. ¡° Well you see.¡± she paused and seemed to try to squeeze out of her skin. ¡°We need a envoy on Avalon and you so far seem nice and laid back.¡± She mumbled the last part. ¡°Oh...um...I¡¯m not religious.¡± He said a little shocked. She got real red when I said that. Her whole head went cherry red. ¡°I hope she is alright.¡± Alex thought. He watched as she started to tremble and started to become hazy. Her body started to transform into a woman with blue-silver hair, grey eyes and very kind portions. She seemed to now looked to be in her mid twenties. ¡°You seem not to be able to take me serious in that form.¡± She said in a enchanting, more mature voice than what it was before. ¡°I don''t take many people serious, anymore.¡± He said adding anymore after a quick pause hoping she didn''t catch it. She heard it. ¡°Oh, really?¡± She asked with an eyebrow cocked up. ¡°No, I just say that to every person who goes from a kid to a woman faster than i could say ¡®Jail bait¡¯.¡± Alex said while keeping a straight face. She didn''t get the joke. ¡° What is jail bait?¡± as she asked she turned back into the kid before with doe like eyes as if begging for a answer. He seemed unable to keep himself from laughing. ¡°Ha haha ha.¡± ¡®Damn my damnable mouth!¡¯ He thought. She jumped a little due to the sudden outburst of laughter. And then proceeded to get angry. Well lets say when he stopped my laughter I pulled a Wile E. Coyote¡ Looking towards her he saw she was angry... For some stupid ass reason he looked down. And pulled out a sign saying ¡°Sorry¡± then fell to the forest below. As the wind rushed past his face a couple of blue boxes popped up in the corner of my vision. But he was busy trying to think of a way to survive the fall. ¡°Damn it there is no way.¡± Alex thought. ¡°Might as well try and go out like a badass.¡± So he aimed his head down with his arms to his sides and tried to rocket down. That worked in that he was gaining speed to my inevitable death. Alex shot through the trees and at the last moment curled up and yelled ¡°CANNON BALL!!¡±. *_-_* *KaBOOOOM* A explosion could be heard throughout the forest. The small animal scurried off to their homes while the larger hunters went to their mates for comfort. This was not a matter they should never intervene in. ¡°Huh¡± he mumbled as he opened his eyes. Alex was trying to figure out how he survived that fall. And soon looked toward the blue boxes in the corner of his vision. ------------- * You have Gained a Class* Unique Class Unlocked! ¡®Envoy of the Goddess of Madness & Order¡¯ *Denied* -------------- * You have Gained a Buff* Ultra-Unique Buff! ¡®Immortality¡¯ ---------------- *You have Gained Stat Points* Strength- ¡Þ Stamina-¡Þ Agility-¡Þ Dexterity-¡Þ Intelligence- ¡Þ Luck- +1 ------------------ ¡°What the hell¡¡±his thoughts as he looked over his skills and new class. Once again the air before him started to shimmer. This time it was the older man who appeared before him. He was smiling showing white teeth. His back was now bent and a white beard masked his features. ¡°Good to see I was able to grant you Immortality before her temper killed you.¡± His once deep voice now held less power and was weaker than the last time they spoke. ¡°Are you alright.¡± Alex asked worried. He liked the old man;he seemed nice. ¡°Oh just fine. Used a little more power than use too doing.¡± He said with a sad smile. He walked over to a boulder and took a seat, winded. He waved for Alex to do the same. As Alex began to sit down the old man began to talk once more. With some of the power back in his voice. ¡°As you have noticed you are now a Immortal. Which for the most part means you can not be kill.¡± The air next to him began to shimmer as a table appeared with a pewter jug and two cup of the same cheap make. ¡°Want some?¡± he asked as he began to pour himself a cup of a clear liquid. ¡°Sure.¡± Alex was parched. The old man finished pouring the two cups and picked them up. As he picked the cups up the table disappeared and the old man handed a cup to Alex. Alex began to gulp it down and nearly spit it out when he found it not to be water. ¡°God this shit burns!¡± He thought as he finished it. ¡°That was the nectar of an ancient tree long since extinct¡ it burns like a son of a bitch.¡± the older man said as he finished his cup. ¡°It also unlocks your magic potential.¡± he said with a off-hand gesture. Both cups disappeared. As the old man began to take the form he showed earlier. ¡°Now to business.¡± he cleared his throat. ¡° My name is Baerlain. I am the god of Life and Death. And i bestow upon you the title and abilities of an Immortal.¡± Baerlain said with a serious tone and manner. ¡°You have the ability to choose your path unlike we of this world.¡± Forlorn sadness shown in his eyes. He disappeared leaving Alex sitting in the crater of his crash. Alex began to scan his surroundings trying to remember all he saw of the landscape during his encounter with the young goddess. He started to crawl out of the hole he made. And to his surprise he was just on the outskirts of the forest. He scanned the forest edge to see if this racket drew any predators to his location. None seemed to be present, but that meant nothing. ¡°What the absolute fuck!¡± Alex roared yelling up toward the sky. Splitting the few clouds in the blue noon sky. --------------- *Skills Gained!* ¡®Sonic Blast¡¯ < When they take your weapon; make a new one.> ¡®.0000000001% of Strength to damage.¡¯ *Confused Rage* ¡®Increase in power of skills by 35%¡¯ Auto Cast ------------------------- ¡°I should log off¡¡± Alex mumbled, awestruck by his broken character. Its trees varied between pine and fir. He could see giant redwood in the distance. ¡°What type of person will i be in this game now that I am for the most part a god character?¡± He thought while he took in the sights around him. He loved the subtle beauty of nature in the real world and it seemed to transfer into the game well. ¡°I tend to pick being the good guy...I¡¯ll try that out for a bit and see how much fun that will be. Might get some..¡± he stopped his thought as a shadow moved. He opened his inventory screen by thinking of it. Inside as a canteen, five loaves of bread and a cheap looking dagger. He equipped the dagger. *You have Equipped* Dagger of the Newb! 1-5 Damage Durability ¡Þ Alex went into a low stance with the dagger pointed down. A lone ragged black warg stepped out of the shadow, teeth bared. A low growl left its throat. Alex and the wolf started to circle each other. Alex smirked. The wolf jumped fangs ready to tear into him. He grabbed the wolf by the throat and pulled their faces closer. ¡°Are you hungry you stupid bitch.¡± he whispered in a deadly tone. As the wolf tried desperately to escape the grasp of it¡¯s captor. Alex unequipped his dagger and balled his other fist. ¡°If you don''t stop i will break you stinking neck and feed you to some other wolf.¡± he said in a tone of complete seriousness. *Crack* ¡°I warned her.¡± he said in a cold voice. He re-equipped his dagger and began to skin and butcher the ragged black warg. He had learned these skills some years ago from a man who lived a life of seclusion. *This man will get a better explanation at a later time* He picked these skills up just in case he and his team or family got stranded during an excavation. ¡°These blue boxes are a pain. I wonder...¡± Alex said as he finished placing the skin and meat within his inventory. ¡°Open Options.¡± He said out loud. A menu appeared. ¡°Turn off blue notification boxes.¡± ¡®Ding¡¯ ¡°Close Options.¡± the options closed and the blue boxes disappeared with it. ¡°Alright, time to get going.¡± He thought as he trotted off. Away from the crater, deeper into the forest away from civilization. End of Chapter Note- Hope this is better. If not... Chapter 3: Good Guy or Bad Guy Blue Moon By: Frank Sinatra Chapter 3: Good Guy or Bad Guy A young girl lounging in a regal wooden chair with purple cushions sat looking through a book. Titled, *Phrases of the Other World*. Her little legs hanging over the side swinging. She was mumbling a phrase she heard earlier from a man who used it to describe her. ¡°Jail bait...jail bait¡¡± Her eyes widened and her face turned red as she came across the meaning. *Jailbait or jail bait is slang for a person who is younger than the legal age of consent for sexual activity, with the implication that a person above the age of consent might find them sexually attractive.* ¡®Wikipedia¡¯ ¡°I¡¯m 2,000 years old that fool!!¡± She shouted. ---------------- Baerlain watched from his throne far above, within the clouds, as Alex moved through the forest. Noticing each animal he went against was given a chance at life. When they declined in their inability to understand, he ended them swiftly and mercifully. ¡° Hm¡ Might need to make it where is is not speaking gibberish to the things of this world. Might help.¡± He smiled. ¡° Or just make him able to talk to animal, now that would be fun to watch.¡± His grin widened as we waved his hand making his thoughts real. ------------------ -Back to Alex- As he moved through the pines and fir he encountered six other lone wargs, their fur was four black and two light brown. With each change in color they change tactics in how to approach and attack him. The black wargs would always be alone and attack him head-on. While the two light brown ones he came across were together hunting small game in the area. But seeing larger game they attack together using teamwork to try and maim and then kill by outlasting the opponent. But they only lasted as long as they were not within the range of his grip. The sun has finally started it¡¯s descent into twilight. The fir and pine and thinned and he is now surrounded by large redwood. He found a downed tree and began to take parts off. Limbs and bark to create a small fire to cook the meat and create warmth for the night. He had cleared an area of a three yard radius around him to decrease the chances of the fire catching the surrounding trees. He had just finished making the fire and started to cook the meat when he heard a low child like voice to his left. ¡°Why is their a human within our woods, papa.?¡± A voice of a young man answered ¡°I don''t know but I will attack him and try and give you time to steal his food.¡± The child voice seemed happy. ¡°Ok papa, I¡¯m so hungry.¡± Alex listened silently. Not wishing to show to these people that he knew of their plan. Around ten minutes passed before a silver wolf walked out of the shadow of the trees in front of Alex. Alex noticed him after he heard the talking but didn''t know if it was a coincidence or not. ¡°Prepare to die human.¡± he wolf snarled at the sitting Alex. It was the same voice from earlier. Alex raised an eyebrow. ¡°hmm...I can understand wolves now...interesting...I wonder if my eyes turned gold.¡± Alex thought. But he pulled a chunk of the warg meat off the fire and tossed it to the wolf. Who jumped back. ¡°Shut up and eat, get your pup out here too.¡± Alex said bluntly. As he ripped another piece off the fire and began to eat it showing to the wolf it was safe. ¡°What the hell is this?!¡± the silver wolf thought as he could understand the human. He began to back away with the meat within his mouth, staring at Alex as if he were a viper. He disappeared within the shadows going back to his pup. Alex sat cooking the whole night while the pup and it father watched him. Silence was only broken when the pup yawned and fell asleep next to it¡¯s father. The Silver wolf noticing that the pup was asleep walked toward the human. Not baring it¡¯s teeth this time. ¡°Human how do you speak the language of the Wolf?¡± He asked sitting across from Alex. The fire playing with their shadows. Alex looked at the wolf for a moment then said. ¡°Not a clue.¡± then he grabbed a stick he found while looking for firewood ,it looked to be a good walking stick, and began to cut off the small offshoots that kept it from being smooth. The wolf noticed the knife in his hand and started to back away. ¡°If I wanted to kill you I wouldn¡¯t need this knife, sit and lets talk.¡± Alex said not looking up from his stick. He did as was told and sat across from Alex knowing...no feeling that what he said was right. He didn¡¯t wish to have his pup die. A five minutes passed as the wolf just watched the strange human finished his work on the stick. Alex sighed.¡± I suppose I will have to start the conversation.¡± he looked up at the wolf. Getting a good look at him. He was thin. Mostly bone with some lean muscle but not enough to survive long. He silver fur was patch with red were gashes from previous fights left wounds that have yet to heal. ¡°How much longer?¡± Alex asked. ¡°By morning.¡± the wolf answered weakly. Alex looked to the sky, but could not see anything past the canopy of the trees. Then he looked back to the wolf. ¡°Thats not good¡¡± Alex felt dumb stating the obvious. ¡°Yeah¡¡± the wolf started toward the pup. ¡°Want me to watch after him?¡± Alex asked. The wolf stopped and looked back towards him. ¡°I don''t trust you...but I want me pup to live.¡± sadness crept into his voice. He turned his head around and began again toward the pup who was sleeping peacefully under a nearby tree. The wolf nudged the pup with his nose waking it. ¡°Hey,papa.¡± the pup said groggily. ¡°Hello little one, come with me.¡± he said nudging the pup up. As then he led the pup back to the fire where Alex still sat. The sun started to peek through the trees. ¡°Pup...I am going to be leaving you with this human...I am sorry I was not able to stay with you longer¡¡± The father wolf¡¯s body started to fade. The silver pup ran towards its father trying to stop him from leaving. He was gone and the pup whimpered do to the loss of its papa. Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. Alex sat unable to help the hurting pup. He didn''t know what to do. The little pup looked towards Alex after crying for a couple hours. The sun was nearing halfway in the sky. ¡°Why did papa leave?¡± Anger and sadness coated it¡¯s voice. ¡°Because protecting that in which you loves has a cost...sometimes it is...hefty.¡± A sadness touched his voice. He then stood up and trampled the remains of the fire. ¡°You have a choice young one.¡± Alex said looking toward the pup who was silently crying looking into the grass. ¡°Become my companion or stay here.¡± The pup looked at him and answered. ----------------- -Back at the Crater- ¡°Sir, we have found foot prints leading away from the crater and into The Great Wood.¡± A old man with strong features looks toward the forest. ¡°Many beasts call that home and most of them could kill someone who entered unprepared.¡± The thought passed through his mind. ¡°Send a group of our best hunters. The person who left these tracks may know what crashed here.¡± the knight said in a commanding tone ¡°Yes,sir!¡± The young knight saluted and ran off to inform the hunters. ¡°It¡¯s time to return home.¡± he thought. The man mounted his white steed and looked once more toward The Great Wood before turning his stead west and began to ride with his escort of white knights to the town of Everbridge. ------------------ -Back to Alex- *One Day Later* The pup was chasing butterflies a couple feet ahead of Alex. Hopping and barking at them as his tongue stuck out. ¡°Little sucker heals fast.¡± Alex thought while looking at the little guy. The trees had thinned out making the patches of grass more abundant. Leaving the moss to collect around the trees. ¡°Hey! Pup come here or a second.¡± the silver pup stopped and turned toward Alex and ran to him. ¡°Yea Alex.¡± the little guy said while hopping circles around Alex as he stopped walking. ¡°We need to give you a name other than pup. Any ideas?¡± the pup stopped jumping and sat down on patch of soft moss and scrunched up his face started to think. A few minutes passed. Alex poked the pup with his walking stick and the pup yelped in confused shock. ¡°So it is alive.¡± he said with a laugh and smile. The pup looked angry and barked ¡°Well what do you think my name should be!¡± ¡°Shit-Head...no no that name will not work...Hopper...no he was to bad ass¡¡±Alex was making fun of the little pup. The pup started to bark and growl at Alex ¡°Ok,ok I have a real name this time.¡± Alex cleared his throat. ¡°Weylyn.¡± Pup stopped barking for a second then asked. ¡°What does that mean?¡± ¡°¡®Son of the Wolf¡¯ I believe.¡± Alex answered truthfully eying the pup for his reaction. After a moment Weylyn nodded his head. And Alex began walking once again this time with Weylyn at his heel. ------------------ A scream resounded through the forest to the right of Alex and Weylyn. Alex charged towards the sound. The speeding away from the shocked pup. Soon he saw where the scream came from. It was a small cat like woman. She was being attacked by large monsters that looked like, from Alex¡¯s memory, trolls. Large and fat, with throbbing puss-ridden sores. They were equipped with a loincloth and a mighty hammer made of a tree. He saw this within moments before he took a running leap landing between then and the young cat woman who had just fell to the ground. He shot his hand out snatching the nearest troll¡¯s club ripping it from its hands. He then shot it toward the trolls face making it explode into a mist of green and pink mist, lodging the club in a nearby tree. The dead body shuddered and then became limp falling to the side of Alex, just missing the young cat woman. The other troll, in its infinite wisdom, rushed forward screaming as it began to swing it club in a downward motion trying to crush Alex. As the club descended he lifted his right hand pointing his index finger up meeting the club with a finger. The club snapped into two and Alex punched the troll with his left creating a cartoon like outcome. The troll flew back hitting a tree and died. ¡°I think I tried a little too hard¡¡± Alex thought as he turned to get a better look at the young cat woman behind him. She had cat ears, paws for hands and feet and a sleek tail. The fur of her cat parts were white with orange blotches, which made a contrast with her light brown hair. She wore a dark leather dress that fit her curves which were few and in between.. When she left her daze at what just happened she shrieked and curled up into a ball as if trying to hide. It was then that Weylyn came running into scene. And ran up to Alex wagging his tail saying. ¡° You fought those big guys, awesomely!¡± The young cat woman look toward Weylyn and whispered. ¡°Run pup he is a monster!¡± Weylyn looked at her and cocked his head to the side. ¡°He not monster, he¡¯s Alex. ¡°Damn pup can be pretty damn cute...damn.¡± Alex thought as he watch the two converse. ¡°So he is a monster named Alex...all the better.¡± she started to shudder and curled up even more. ¡°What is she talking about Alex?¡± Weylyn asked look toward Alex with questioning eyes. Alex shrugged his shoulders and said ¡° You know if you keep curling up like that anyone that walks by can see your¡¡± he coughs into his hand looking away. Motioning Weylyn away they began walking into a random direction once again. End of Chapter 3: Good Guy or Bad Guy That''s the end of this chapter. Getting better at stretching it out, or I¡¯m just adding unneeded side characters. I¡¯ll see when i get to actual finishing next chapter. Until then I hope this was a step up from last chapter. Have a good day! Chapter 4: Thundercats,HO! My Way By: Frank Sinatra Chapter 4: Thundercats,HO!!! After walking for another hour Weylyn whisper to Alex. ¡°I think the furry lady is following us.¡± Alex raised an eyebrow and said ¡° hmm. Really here? Well ok,lets camp for the night?¡± Alex began to pick up firewood while Weylyn was confused at what just happened but after a moment of staring at the back of Alex who was leaning over picking up firewood he started to as well. A few minutes later¡ Alex and Weylyn had finished with the firewood. Weylyn was lying near where the fire would be and Alex was making a makeshift tent with branches, moss and leaves for bedding and rain protection. That night ¡°She¡¯s a stubborn one.¡± Alex whispered to Weylyn was lying on Alex¡¯s lap having his fur stroked. Alex had to move the fire within the shelter to keep it from going out in the night rain. It was a cold drizzle that wouldn¡¯t flood them but if they were not careful it could lead to the pup catching a cold. ¡°Shes moving closer to the tent,I can hear her breath and I smell her scent...strong.¡± The little pup whispered lazily as he started to drift off. Alex sat there in the night staring at the fire. hearing the creaking and snapping of the twigs within. ¡°I know you know i am here.¡± a high pitch, yet womanly voice spoke from outside the entrance of the shelter. Alex looked at the woman from the corner of his eye waving her in, still stroking Weylyn''s fur. She tentatively ducked and walked in trying to act dignified. But the cold water had long since drenched her dress and she was now hazard dieing by hypothermia. The shelter/tent was situated within an alcove of a Redwood. The tent like part was were the fire and entrance was while Alex and Weylyn would sleep within the part sheltered by the tree itself. At least if Alex needed sleep, which he found he did not need. That might just be do to being within a game or his immortal status. Alex carefully put the sleeping pup next to where he sat and unequipped his tunic and shirt with the system. He tossed the clothes to her, and said ¡°Use it.¡±. He turned away so that she may change. She was around neck height to him which if he guessed right it would be alittle longer than the dress she was wearing. ¡°Um...my tail¡¡± she whispered. He pushed his palm to his forehead. ¡°I knew i was forgetting something.¡± he said out loud taking his dagger out and tossing it to her feet only glancing for a second to to hit her. Seeing the shirt pulling up, showing her upper thigh. He waited for her to give him the ''ok'' to turn around. It never came. But a thin metal blade did make contact to his throat. And a male voice whispered into his ear. ¡°What did you do to my wife...human.¡±seething hate drenched the words human. Alex smirked. ¡°The question is not what i did ...It¡¯s what didn¡¯t I do.¡± as the last words left his mouth the metal slid across his skin. Alex turned around looking at the male catman. ¡°If he pulls out the sword of omen and started to chant ¡®Thunder,Thunder,Thundercats, HO!¡¯ I would not be surprised.¡± these were his first thoughts seeing the lion maned man like cat. ¡°What are you?!¡± the lion-man said scared and annoyed. Weylyn woke up seeing the lion-man backing away from the smirking Alex and thought ¡°He will handle it.¡± and went back to sleep. ¡°Well I don''t know for sure. Human...maybe. Time Lord...I hope. Super bad ass who saved your wife from two trolls...yeah i remember some of that happening.¡± He said in a questioning tone and adding a answering tone for each pause. ¡°What?¡± the lion man looked angry with Alex¡¯s blade still in his hand. The catwoman trembling behind her husband looking sad. If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. ¡°If you are going to use that dagger use it, I will break your paw but don''t let that sway you. Or you can leave this tent. Or for a third and better choice sit your no good shitty ass down before a decorate this place with your guts.¡± Alex started in a joking manner but by the end he was looking the other man in the eye putting as much for behind his words as he could. The Lion-man plopped onto the ground and tossed the dagger away looking scared out of his mind. ¡°Now that¡¯s better.¡± Alex said taking some meat from his bag. Tossing some to both the woman and the Lion-O clone. They looked at the food. Then the woman pawed it testing if it was alive and a danger. ¡°Eat the food.¡± Alex said looking at them. They complied quickly. And then began to enjoy the meat. ¡®Damn fucking people, making me go back to my old mean fucking self should kick their ass so hard they would taste leather for the rest of their no good fucking live.¡¯ these anger did not show on his face but these thought filled his mind. But he¡¯s learned it¡¯s best to be calm,at least until it stops raining. A hour before dawn The cat-woman lay in the lap of the lion- man. He stroked her head while keeping a keen eye on their captor. Or atleast that''s what his thoughts on the situation were. But Alex was staring off into the fire think of nothing and yet everything. He let his mind wander so as to calm himself. He had entered his void. He saw everything but none of it caught his attention. He was looking for something yet he did not know what. Then he found it. As if it was always there yet just out of eyesight, a glow. likes of which he had never saw. It was different hues of blue and yellow. As he concentrated more upon it he saw its entirety. He reached out with his mind touching it. -------------------------- All around the world All being looked into the direction of The Great Wood. The players found this to be odd. They too were forced to look in that direction. --------------------------------- Baerlain watched with a smile from his throne within the clouds. ¡°I never knew he had this much potential...he could be stronger than me.¡± His smile widened into that of a mad mans. ¡°I can finale die!¡± he whispered. The young Goddess of Madness and Order teleported in front of her grandfather Baerlain the once King of the Gods. To ask him what was this power. ¡°What is this power?¡± she asked him frightened. His smile did not help quell her fear. ¡°Oh, dear child.¡± He got up from his seat and patted her on the head. ¡°I am finale able to pass away.¡± Tears welled up within her eyes as she hugged her grandfather. She did not want him to leave her alone. She hated the other gods they were either weak and cruel or strong and boring. But he was strong.kind, and fun,if a little mad. He started to fade into mist. ¡°Don''t worry little one, everything is going to change soon.¡± his disembodied voice echoed. Leaving a little girl crying within the clouds. --------------- The End of Chapter 4 : Thundercats,HO!! And for a moment all he saw was color and his incorporeal form felt an immense power. It burned like molten magma within him. Threatening to destroy him at any moment. Like a torrent; it battered and started to crush him. A arm...a person pulled him out of the power. Alex lay in the fields of grass breathing heavily still remembering the pain. After what seemed like days he regained his senses and sat up looking around. Green, beautiful fields with rolling hills with a breathtaking blue sky. One other being was within the field. Baerlain. ¡°Good to see you survived the merging.¡± he said with a smile looking down to the sitting Alex. Alex rubbing his head, muttered. ¡°Merging with what?¡± Keeping the smile he help Alex up. ¡°Well with this world of course.¡± he said dusting Alex¡¯s left shoulder. ¡°What do you mean exactly¡¡± Alex said looking cautiously toward the person who he thought may be a friend. ¡°Oh, you know, you don''t need the capsule to come to this dimension anymore!¡± he said with a clap and a spin. ¡°I am still able to go back...right?¡± Alex was starting to understand he thought at least he was. Baerlain rub his chin at the question. That scared Alex. He looked Alex in the eye and said ¡°Nope.¡± Alex fell to his knees his shoulders slumped head hanging. ¡°I will not be able to see my daughter anymore...my sister...my friends¡¡± Tears started to fall down his face and the blue sky was replaced with rain clouds. Lightning hit right next to Baerlain. Alex looked up at him. Anger filled him and he felt for the power he felt once before and found it. It was not as painful as before. He jumped off the ground grabbing Baerlain by the throat. The air around him cracked, creating sparks and flames that appeared and disappeared just as fast they could leaving only after images. ¡°YOU DID THIS!!¡± Alex shouted at the choking Baerlain. Baerlain tried to speak but Alex tightened his grip. The ground started to turn into mud and the once verdant green fields now were ablaze. Thunder shook the ground. Baerlain had something to say before he went but as it was now he could not. So he lifted his right arm weakly and put his thumb on Alex¡¯s head. only for a moment then his hand fell...lifeless. Alex laid him down. ¡°Damn it old man.Should have reminded me of that before I... destroyed you.¡± His anger started to subside to the waves of sadness. He sat and cried next to the disappearing body of Baerlain the God of Life, ¡®once¡¯ King of the Gods. ------------------- Alex was once again in his body. Not even a minute after his departure. In real time but there it was hours. Alex looked to the lion-man and his catwoman spouse. ¡°What are your names.¡± The lion-man blinked and replied. ¡°My name is Victor Lionpaw and my wife here is Amelia Lionpaw.¡± trying to add pride into his voice when he told his wifes name.¡± ¡°My name is Alex, and this pup is Weylyn.¡± Alex introduced him and Weylyn. It was long past civility but he had to move his mind to some other thoughts. Victor nodded his head as if agreeing to something. ¡°I should clear this up. I did not touch Amelia.¡± Alex said pointing at the young woman snoozing away on her husbands lap. He wore leather pants and a leather tunic of low quality. ¡°I... I saw her naked and changing into you clothes¡¡± he mumbled. ¡°I understand¡¡± Alex said shaking his head ever so slightly in agreement. ¡°Do you have a village near here?¡± Alex asked. Victor nodded. ¡°It¡¯s only another days walk to the north of here.¡± Alex nodded his head, stroking his beard in thought. ¡°I can lead you there.¡± Victor paused for a moment deciding to add onto what he wanted to say. ¡°But my people do not like outsiders...humans most definitely.¡±He paused and added as too reassure himself added ¡±but you saved Amelia so they should soften up toward you.¡± He looked down toward his wife with loving eyes. Alex smirked and thought ¡°I use to look at Christina like that.¡± ¡°Sure. And I promise to not destroy them if they attack me, on my honour.¡± --------------------------- As they made their small journey toward the town...well more like a small city by what the couple talked of it. So I shall give *pardon my term* ¡°the low down¡± on it. The name is The Forest Home. Inhabitants are a mix between tribes of animal-humanoid and elven races. The more pronounced of the two are the Wood Elves then close behind are the Feline species and last but not extinct it was the Canine species. The Wood Elves first built the city by singing to the trees. Combining magic and some ancient elven language that has the ability to communicate with nature they formed walls and homes. But they lacked in martial skill which was found in the nearby warring tribes of Feline and Canine races. The Wood Elves were after many botched attempts able to make a fragile peace. This peace was tested when the humans tried to expand into The Great Wood. They were drove back and it strengthened the bond between the three races. Which leads into the arrival of Alex and his companion Weylyn. --------------- The four travelers were seen long before the neared the city of The Forest Home. A male human is what really caught the attention of the wood elf scout. ¡°I must report this.¡± the thought jumping from redwood to redwood toward the village. He neared the city minutes later hopping onto the barracks tree. One of the four spread in the four cardinal directions. The city was built into two layers. The ground layer was for shops and the occasional resident not wishing to live within the trees. Then was the layer of homes, with the military building at the edge and the council hall in the middle.*a/n Think Kashyyyk and Lothl¨®rien combined architecture* The young elven woman scout barged into the dining hall of the barracks calling ¡°Captain! Urgent new!¡± The wood made little noise to her skipping run towards a scared elven warrior sitting at the head of the table on the opposite side of the hall. ¡°Yes,Scout Meralia?¡± he said looking up from his wooden bowl of fruits and nuts. ¡°A human was spotted to the south, sir.¡± she said making a bow. ¡°A human huh¡¡± The Captain thought for a moment. ¡°We shall go and greet the human.¡± He said with a toothy grin. The soldier within the hall cheered lifting their steins. This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report. -------------------------- Alex walked comfortably behind Victor and Amelia, they were holding hands and Amelia seemed to be humming a song. Alex was playing with Weylyn who has grown over night. He was closing in on his knee which was a large jump from being ankle high the day before. Alex toss a nearby stick. It flew a few paces and landed and Weylyn chased after it picked it up and pranced back. Weylyn handed the stick to Alex for him to throw it again. But before Alex could throw it he smelt something. ¡°Alex there are many people surrounding us!¡± Weylyn said scared looking around into the surrounding redwood. Victor and Amelia heard Weylyn and back to Alex and seemed to try and guard him. ¡°Just the other day they called me a monster and tried to kill me...am I a good person or am I just that scary?¡± Alex thought looking at the couple. Amelia had her claws out and Victor had Alex¡¯s dagger in his right hand while his left hand claws were extended. A grizzled warrior around the height of Alex. Stepped into the open from behind a near by redwood in front of the group. He wore steel mail seeming to be inlaid with the blueish glow of mithril. The mail was tucked into his steel plated trousers which too had mithril inlay. It did not seem very artistic but the functionality was for that of war. His facial features were strong. He was an elf but none of the beauty was left as a scar marked his left eye which was covered in a red eyepatch. Parts of his long pointed ears were marred with pieces seemingly bitten off. All in all he seemed to be an old warrior. ¡°Human! Why do you dare trespass into the lands of the Woodland Peoples!¡± He demanded. ¡°This is bad.¡± Amelia wispered Alex raised an eyebrow.¡±Never use to do that¡¡±Alex thought to himself. Victor noticed and whispered to Alex.¡± He is known for his cruelty towards humans.¡± ¡°Ah..¡± Alex said shaking his head. Then called back. ¡°What makes you think i am human?¡± The elf smiled ¡°Because i have killed many humans. And i am about to add another!¡± He laughed. ¡°You can try...You and your whole damn army, but let these kids get out of here don''t want them to see what is about to happen!¡± Alex smiled back at the elf. The elf thought for a moment and answered. ¡°Sure,I know those two. And the pup does seem to not be old enough to have sport in killing.¡± ¡°Off you all go then...don''t look back you wont like what you see.¡± he whispered to the couple then looked to Weylyn. ¡°I want you to go with them. I will see you at the south gate later today if i don''t catch up to you.¡± Amelia and Victor tried to rebuke his decision but he pushed them on. ¡°Go or I will throw you. ¡± They sadly nodded their heads and hurried off with Weylyn close behind. They started to near the gate when Amelia said. ¡°I am sorry Weylyn that your friend is dead.¡± A tears started to flow down her cheek and Victor held his wife. ¡°Alex die?¡± Weylyn chuckled. --------------------- The Captain motioned for Scout Meralia to come to him. She jumped down from a near by tree and went the captain. ¡°Make sure they get to the city and watch their movement.¡± he ordered and she nodded in compliance and jumped back into the trees. ¡°How do you wish to die human!¡± The captain said drawing his sword. ¡°I think this might be a good time to test my ability.¡± Alex thought. ¡°How many men do you have?¡± Alex asked ¡°Why do you need to know?¡± The captain barked back. ¡°Well I need to know how many condolences letters I will have to write and send to their loved ones.¡± He said with a cocky smile. The forest seemed to laugh. ¡°Around 250!¡± The captain laughed walking toward Alex. ¡°Only?¡± Alex frowned. ¡°Attack!¡± The captain yelled. Arrows rained down upon him. After ten minutes the archers ended their bombardment. Shocked gasps left the lips of all the attacking soldiers. Alex smiled and yelled. ¡°Stop throwing pebbles and hit me!¡± One-hundred and eighty-five infantry charged. They all and iron mail chest armour and leather trousers with short swords and a medium size shields with a green tree painted on the outside. The first to reach him was a large black warg-man with drool dripping down his chin. He swung his sword wildly hitting Alex on the side of the head, shattering the blade. Alex grabbed the shield and flung it away from the wargs chest. Flattening his hand, he shot it forward entering the beast-man¡¯s heart cavity and ripped it¡¯s heart out. He tossed the heart and body aside reading the rest of his enemies. He smirked. ¡°Now it¡¯s my turn to charge.¡± ----------------------------------- Alex neared the gate and heard Weylyn say. ¡°Alex die.¡± while chuckling. Alex slowed down to a walk before they saw him. He had time to find a small lake and clean off the blood from the ¡®battle¡¯. ¡°I hope having to turn into him will not be a habit.¡± he thought solemnly as he neared the crying couple. ¡°Hey everyone.¡± He said waving with a frown. The couple were shocked to see him once again. Even the little elf woman hinding within the nearby trees was as well. ¡°I left only one survivor...sorry.¡± He looked down in shame. ¡°I need to learn to control some of this power.¡± he added sadly. ----------------- Meralia left her post to check on her comrades. Thinking what she saw was a ghost. She arrived soon seeing that he was not bluffing. Everyone was dead and the battleground was covered in blood . But they were lined up on the ground as if he was trying to make it easier to find the bodies for a passing patrol. She checked the bodies of her old comrades to see how they died. Night neared when she finished looking through the dead. They all had their hearts removed and placed at the feet of the dead captain who was beaten to a bloody pulp. The End of Chapter 5: Merging Author Note I ended this a page light :( sorry. I was writing and found a fine cliffhanger that was not to much of a dick move and I have to think on how to get him to a human settlement. who will train him,how he will keep from destroying the town once Meralia reports what she found and who did it to the council and such. Hope you all enjoy. p.s. I might have mucked up some of the descriptions by making them too broad. Sorry if you noticed that as well. Chapter 5.5: A Daughters Despair I See A Darkness By: Johnny Cash The Beast in Me By: Johnny Cash Chapter 5.5 : A Daughter¡¯s Despair Rebecca was spawned within the walled village of Everbridge. The streets were cobbled. The walls were high. So all in all it looked like any other starting village other than the fact it sat in the shadow of a hill¡ and on the hill was a castle. The spot she started was a grassy field with a nice fountain in the center. The fountain was adorned with many naked women and men of the whitest marble. The water within gleamed with magic and copper pennies. She looked around herself finding others who mirrored her movements. They all wondered why were they taken here. The were not even able to make a avatar or pick their starting location. A few started to curse. Then a blue box appeared before them. ----------------------- Welcome Travelers! You were late to the passing of the God of Life. So you lost the choice in your second life. Best of Luck. --------------------- Shock and awe appeared in the faces of the many human Travelers within the town square of Everbridge. Rebecca too was shock and angered by this. So she thought to use the friend system and contact her father, since he was the one who bought her this broken game. ¡°Access Friends List.¡± she thought, and a blue boxed appeared. ---------------- All family members have been added to your friends list. ---------------- One name in front of Rebecca and it was Kyoki. She lifted her hand and touched it and a voice rang within her head. ¡°You have created a private conversation with your father.¡± ¡°Dad can you hear me?¡± Rebecca said but no sound left her mouth. Alex heard his daughter''s voice and mumbled ¡°Must actually be going mad now¡¡± Weylyn who was laying in Alex¡¯s lap napping snuggled closer to Alex. They sat in the home of Victor and Amelia who had snuck them into the city once the scout had left her post. It was a lot easier considering Alex destroyed the southern guard. He was in their community room. It was a medium sized square room with a hearth at one end and the door to a hallway leading to the kitchen and bedrooms. He was leaning against the hearth deep within his mind. ¡°What the hell are you talking about?¡± He heard her voice again. Alex had started to recede into his mind once again to try and forget what he had done. ¡°Damn it Dad I am whispering you through the friend system!¡± Rebecca¡¯s voice rang in his head. ¡°What is it kid.¡± His voice whispered coldly as he was wrestling with his inner self. Rebecca¡¯s anger for her father froze as she heard this cold voice of her fathers. She never heard it before...she heard the stories from her aunt and uncle but never dealt with it herself. This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report. ¡°Daddy...whats wrong¡¡± she asked scared. She remembered her Aunt Crystal once told her about the time she was almost raped and was saved by Alex. But she put that up as her propaganda for her fathers benefit and that what she believed...until now. He regained his sanity for a moment and replied with warmth. ¡°Nothing kiddo. What did yah need.¡± She knew he was hiding something important. ¡°It is nothing. But whats up dad?¡± ¡°I will tell you when we see each other in person. So where are you?¡± He asked. ¡°Not a clue. I will find out and tell you later. See you I am gonna log.¡± She disconnected from her pod. A tear ran down his cheek and he receded back into his mind thinking ¡°At least I can talk to my daughter¡¡± It was the only thing keeping him from letting the memories of Baerlain taking over. As she pulled her body out of the capsule into her mural of a room. The wall were painted ¡®By her¡¯ in the likeness of The Great Wood of which her father has been in.She lay in her bed and slept until morning. She woke to her alarm clock sounding off at 7:00. Groggily she woke and went to the kitchen table expecting eggs to lay on a plate before her. It took her a moment but when nothing appeared and her father was not in the kitchen she went to his room. ¡°He knows the routine, He makes breakfast on the weekends and I make it on the weekdays before school.¡± As she neared a light hum was the only thing that could be heard. She reached the wooded door and knocked. Nothing. So she moved the handle and it opened with ease and swung open. No one was in the room but she noticed his capsule was on. As she neared she could feel heat coming out of the capsule. So she rushed over touching it. It burnt her and but opened. Steam blocked her vision of her father. But as it cleared she screamed a blood curdling scream. Nothing was inside. Not even a body. ---------------------------------- *A/n The Great Wood has a faster time than that of the surrounding area so more could happen within it which is why Alex had done so much more than his daughter considering they started ten minutes apart. She started after him since she had to do take a shower and change into night clothes. But the basic difference in time is ? or ever one hour in life is 6 in game* ------------------------------------- The End of Chapter 5.5: A Daughter¡¯s Despair End of Chapter Note- Sorry for this .5 filler that is late. But I hope you all enjoy it somewhat. I have made plans. Also I am gonna double down on songs for this chapter because it¡¯s a .5 I hope you listen and like it. P.S. I am thinking of writing a second FF but it being one of those rebirth one¡ who knows¡ Have a good day Chapter 6: Into Madness You Always Hurt The One You Love By: The Mills Brothers Fooling Yourself By: Styx Chapter 6: Into Madness Alex was once again within the recesses of his mind. the dark void surrounded him. The power to destroy the world lay just within reach. He held his hand back and listened. Voices churned within around him. Cursing him, calling him a monster. Some were praying while others whimpered for their mother. Each voice silenced. One by one the sound ceased and in the quiet he stood. Tears of blood streaming down his face...blood on his hands...blood everywhere. No longer was he in the darkness. Now he stood on a battlefield...his battlefield. The one he dyed red with the life blood of his enemies. All their face showed horror...all the despair was aimed at him. Once more he was within the void. No longer were there screams for mercy...now he was alone screaming for help. ¡®Rebecca¡¯ the thought was a quick image of his little girl playing tea party. Then darkness. ¡®Crystal¡¯ the thought was a quick image, just as before, but this time it was her wedding with a man standing beside her looking to another who seemed to smile and read from a book. Again darkness. Time immeasurable passed, then he opened his eyes. He was no longer in darkness. But now he was in a field he had seen once before. But this time it was cloudy with lightning striking the clouds. It did not rain. ¡°You know if you keep on this road I will be the sane one, right?¡± A ancient man materialized acouple steps a way from Alex and walked toward him. Once he reach the curled up man he knelt and started to pat his back. ¡°It¡¯s fine young one...its fine¡¡± Kindness and sadness touched his voice. With each stroke of Alex¡¯s back he regained more and more of his mind. He lifted his head and scanned his surroundings. No one was there and the sky was once again clear. He focused on the void and once again lost his body and floated. -------------------- He opened his eyes. And thought for a brief moment he was home. But that was shattered as the couple he was staying with walked into the room. One was a strong looking man with orange hair and cat features. And next to him was a beautiful woman with a slim body, brown hair and white fur with orange blotches. They walked in on the opposite side of the room which held the hearth. He seemed to now be in a bed instead of propped against the hearth.. He also looked to his side and saw Weylyn who had grown once more overnight. He looked once again at Victor and Amelia and asked them a question. ¡°How long have i been asleep?¡± He asked standing up. Loud ¡®Pops¡¯ and ¡®Creeks¡¯ were heard as he stood. ¡°Even here my body does that.¡± the thought passed through his mind. Victor cleared his throat and looked away from him while Amelia raised an eyebrow. Alex looked down and noticed his body had changed. And it was naked. ¡°I seemed to have misplaced my clothes...and my age.¡± he said looking down at his toes. ¡°Where the hell did that summer sau¡.o shit.¡± he thought before he grabbed the cot he had been sleeping on and turned it on its side hiding him and his...companion from the woman in the room. ¡°Sorry about that.¡± he said with a crack in his voice. ¡°My voice just cracked oh shit why the hell does this shit always happen when I want to be left alone¡± He frowned at this thought. --------------- Victor tossed Alex some clothes and said as he changed. ¡°You have been out for a week. Your body started to glow and changed. Your clothes were destroyed somehow and a couple hours ago it stopped and you looked like a young human instead of the older man you were.¡± Alex nodded as he listened and changed. The clothes were a simple brown leather. His boots were the same. They all fit snug. ¡°It seems someone took my measurement while I slept.¡± Alex thought. ¡°Do you have a mirror I can look at myself in?¡± Alex asked Victor thought for a moment then answered. ¡°We have a reflection panel that lets you see you whole body.¡± Alex shook his head and Victor lead Alex to his wife''s and his room and pointed to a far wall. As Alex approached he was shocked at the difference. He was the same height and had the same eyes, which was a plus. But he now looked to be in his late teens early twenties. He now had a strong jaw and refined chin which for some was the embodiment of beauty. His torso was lean and full of muscle. He blinked. ¡°Who is this and where is my beard?¡± Alex said rubbing his smooth face. With a shocked look on his face. Victor smiled and tapped Alex on the shoulder and said to him. ¡°We have been summoned to the council today, they want to talk to you.¡± ¡°Just talk?¡± Alex looked at Victor skeptically. ¡°As far as I know, yes.¡± He replied honestly. He also shoved a long dagger into Alex¡¯s hand and followed up with. ¡°But just in case.¡± He was looking Alex in the eye. ¡°Why.¡± Alex asked putting the dagger into his belt not even noticing that it was his dagger. ¡°I have not even a clue to a guess .¡± he said with a light sad smile. He then lead his friend to the council hall. ----------------------- At the Council Hall ¡°We must find a way to destroy him!¡± Yelled the male Elder of the Canine Tribe. The others who sat around in a semi-circle. ¡°You would court our utter destruction Maergoth?¡± a female Elder of the Wood Elves replied curtly. Maergoth growled but remained silent. Footsteps echoed in the chamber as the one they summoned neared. ----------- Alex entered a large round chamber that held a platform in the center with six chairs pointed towards it. Alex walked forward and stood on top of the platform and waited for the representatives of each race to speak to him. Time passed before a greying female of the Canine tribe spoke. If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the infringement. ¡°Why have you come here human?¡± she asked in a voice brimming with anger. Alex looked at each of the representative but he could not see their faces so he looked in the direction of the voice and spoke. ¡°You asked me to come here...if you are talking coming to the city it was do to circumstance.¡± ¡°We asked for a older human to come, not a child.¡± a deeper voice seemed to reply just as angry. ¡°I was older¡¡± Alex looked at his hands and body once more before continuing. ¡°But as you can see I changed.¡± ¡°They seem to not believe me...I don''t blame them though.¡± he thought. An ancient, raspy voice spoke. ¡°I have seen it happen once before.¡± A sweet female voice spoke as well. ¡°Yes...many years ago before the gods left us.¡± Silence. ¡°ARE YOU SAYING THE GODS BLESSED THIS MURDERER!!¡± a young woman burst into the room from behind Alex. It was the elven scout he saw disappear into the woods after that captain gave her some orders. Alex looked at the tomboyish appearance of the woman. Her blonde hair was cut short like that of a mans and her features held few scars one that stood out was along the jawline. She seemed to have had a beautiful face at one time. ¡°I killed...but did not kill without reason.¡± Alex replied looking towards the Council. A breeze seemed to blow. A shattering that sounded close to that of breaking glass could be heard. Alex turned his heard toward the woman who stood right behind him. She held a broken dagger in her trembling hand. The blade was broken all the way down to the hilt. The fragments of the dagger were on the ground at his feet. He swept them away. ¡°Try again next time.¡± He punched the air before him creating a burst of air that ripped up wooden planks as it smacked into her sending her flying out of the door. ¡°Woops...gonna have to figure out how to control how much power I use.¡± he mumbled looking at his hand for a moment before looking back into the direction of the Council. Silence once again. ¡°Have a nice stay.¡± a woman purred. Alex was surprised but he took a bow and left going outside to meet with Victor, Amelia, and Weylyn so they could show him the way back. ---------------- The Council looked in awe at the spectacle before them. The man had such mana capabilities and yet only used strength. ¡°What is he?¡± one of the council whispered. Each and everyone shook their heads and looked toward the ancient wood elf who led them. He smiled and a mad gleam lit his eye. ¡°There is another Immortal.¡± The others gasped. Then they all began to speak at once. ¡°They are myths!¡± ¡°They were locked away by the gods!¡± \ ¡°We are doomed!¡± ¡°I want him!!¡± ¡°May the gods bless us!¡± They all looked toward the young high elf maiden beside the ancient wood elf. She blushed. -------------- Once Alex found his friends and inquired about a library. They led him to a building combining six or seven of the largest trees he has ever seen. Once he entered he nearly fainted. Delicate and beautiful carvings adorned every bit of the library. The walls, the doors, the archways, even the bindings of the books. A youth walked toward the trio and Weylyn and spoke. ¡°You have been given free roam of the library.¡± he then walked away. Alex looked to Weylyn and asked. ¡°Do you think you can lead me back to Amelia and Victor¡¯s place?¡± Weylyn shook his large and spiky head. ¡°Yes.¡± ¡°He voice has gotten deeper...I am gonna have to figure out how he grows so fast.¡± Alex thought. He looked towards the couple. ¡°Have fun.¡± he said waving. Then he moved to the nearest bookshelf. He looked around and found a couple books they looked interesting. One in particular caught his eye since he had read it once before. I shall list them and their respectable authors. The Manipulation of Magical Forces - By: The Wandering Magi Under the Grand Mountain: A Dwarven Tale - By: Billof Digby The Gods and Their Tower - By : Gelden Whiteweaver Last but not least in any regard. The Hobbit : There and Back Again - By: Bilbo Baggins Once Alex saw this book he tenderly pulled it out and ran toward the nearest Librarian and had to ask about it. The Librarian looked at the book then told Alex they had found it on a group of adventurers who had been willing to trade years ago. They called themselves ¡®Batetesters¡¯ or something of the sort. ------------------------ Eight Months Later/ Two Month Later on Earth Rebecca was now reconnecting to her surroundings. Crystal and Mike have been getting her help and providing a stable life since he father ¡®died¡¯. She has yet to re-enter the game. But today was the day. She had gained some of her past self and wanted to try and play the last gift her father gave her. As a way to try and reconnect with him. She did the same thing for her mother. The night before she died they did go and watch a movie. It was a shitty movie but when it came out of DvD she bought it and watched it on the anniversary of her death. She stood in the center of her new room. It was another mural she created this one was of the ocean floor. With coral reefs and small fish swimming about. As she neared the white capsule her father bought her she took a deep breath and closed her eyes. A tear fell. She opened her eyes then opened the capsule and laid inside. As it closed it asked her if she wish to commence the start up phase. She paused before replying. ¡°Yes.¡± She was once again into Shattered Memories. -------------- End of Chapter 6: Into Madness After Chapter Note- Well that took longer than it should considering the lack of development¡ Hope you all enjoyed it. Chapter 7: Back to the Wood Harvest Moon By: Blue Oyster Cult In the Presence of Another World By: Blue Oyster Cult Chapter 7:Back to the Wood A scout rushed into the throne hall of the Everbridge Castle. Taking a deep bow before the lord he rushed up the stair to the throne handing him a report on the crater. ¡°Hmm...He is in the Elven city now¡¡± he said to himself then he looked to the scout. ¡°Rest for the rest of the day, but early tomorrow head back and tell them to leave patrols and come home.¡± The scout did a salute and hurried out. ----------------------------------- Alex had finished his devouring of the library. It took him a year of constant reading. He once went a full month without eating but do to his immortal status it did not harm him. But for the most part he wanted to have something connect him to humanity, even if it was something as insignificant as that. He began to worry about his daughter a week after he whisper. It just took that long before he remembered the conversation. *Chapter 5.5* In fact the whole day was fuzzy as if looking back through drunk goggles. He lay down the final book that was left in the library. The Title was simply ¡°In Darkness we Found¡¡± It was a series of dwarven legends which had nearly ten volumes. I say nearly do to the fact the author was eaten by a dragon on one of his excursion into the northern mountain region of Mordeth. You can deduce a reason for the name. As he closed the book he looked off into the distance for a moment thinking of all the places the author described. ¡°So many wonders...yet so little time.¡± He thought shaking his head. ¡°No I am an immortal now...chosen to be...privileged. ¡° The last thought was in disgust. In his devouring of the literary material of this world, he had learned of three other mortals who had gained immortality by the gods. Each person was of great beauty, great skill, or of happenstance. Well only he was ¡°lucky¡± enough to gain it just because. But each died. The gods killed them off after...having their fun. ¡°Happy thoughts...I leave today.¡± He said to himself. He called the assistant who was assigned to him by the council. She was a young blonde elven girl, maybe fifteen in age. She was hiding behind a nearby bookcase. She jumped when he called. She seemed to believe she was well hidden. ¡°Merissa come help me return this stack of books.¡± he missed his deeper, more friendly voice. It was replaced with one that carried a tone of nobility. He hated that. Alex carried most of the books which numbered in the hundreds and were as thick as a child¡¯s forearm in length. As he neared the entrance with the little elf maiden prancing behind him with the two smaller books he handed her to carry a deep voice called out. ¡°Ser Alex! What are you doing carrying those books to the counter?¡± A wiry old elf appeared before him. ¡°Ah, Librarian Grendethaer. The exact elf I was looking for.¡± Alex said setting the books down gently near the check in counter. Once the books were stacked into manageable stack Alex looked to Merissa and asked her for the books. She handed him the books then her face reddened as their hands touched. Alex did not notice and turned to Grendethaer and asked a question. ¡°Do you have any copies of these books that I might take on my travels?¡± he handed over the copies of the following. ¡°The Hobbit¡± and ¡°A Journeyman¡¯s Guide to New Avalon: The Complete Edition¡± The Librarian looked over the books and had a puzzled look on his face and asked. ¡°I know why you want the Journeyman¡¯s Guide but why the other one?¡± Alex smiled and replied. ¡°Because I might want to sing on my journey.¡± He nodded and left returning seconds later with three leather bound tomes. On the spines had the titles. He knew two of them which were the ones he asked for but the third was named ¡°A Immortal¡¯s Tale¡± and the inside was blank. Alex shot a questioning glance toward Grendethaer. ¡°Figured you might want to record your tale, don''t worry about quill and ink it writes through a enchantment all thats needed is thought.¡± He said beaming with pride. Alex looked at the thick black leather tome with an impression of a leaf stamped in the front. The cute blonde elf stood next to the two feeling left out and started to fidget with the seaming of her pale blue summer dress. She had a light skin tone that seemed to not tan nor burn. Her lithe figure stood out with the dress to complement it. She watched as Alex was about to leave her for good. She had been infatuated with him since his show of power in the Council hall. She wanted to be with him, but he did not see her that way. She found courage and asked the question that had been on her mind the whole day. ¡°Alex...can I come with you¡?¡± she asked looking at him with large doe brown eyes. Alex looked toward her seeing her like that reminded her of his daughter when she wanted something. ¡°It will be dangerous¡¡± He paused. She seemed to get excited when he said dangerous. ¡°Ask your parents.¡± She bolted out of the library heading to her father. ¡°You know she is the youngest daughter of the Council elder, right?¡± the librarian said eying Alex. ¡°Yep¡ I am hoping that he will say no.¡± Alex said watching the girl run off. He turned too Grendethaer. ¡°I wish you a relaxed life friend.¡± Alex said. He placed his hand over his heart and a with a deep bow retreated. Grendethaer took him in a embrace and whispered into his ear. ¡°All roads end but make sure yours is full of knowledge and women.¡± he smiled a kind gaze at his young compatriot of knowledge. If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation. Alex hugged him back and smiled. ------------------ As Alex left the library he whistled calling a friend to his location. Large thuds could be heard as something large approached. The library was on the second layer of the city, above the ground layer. A large shadow covered Alex. and before him appeared a large beast the size of a hose. ¡°My oh my! Look who decided to leave his dusty old library!¡± a voice rumbled in the mind of Alex. Alex hazard a guess it was the beast. They began to circle each other as if gauging each others power. Alex smirked. ¡°You are still a thousand years to young, kiddo.¡± Alex leaped forward slamming against the beast laying him against the wooden floor. By drawing onto his mana pool he coerced the wood to grow over the best paws holding it down. Sitting on the side of the large animal Alex looked him in the face and said. ¡°Weylyn you have grown again...and when did you learn to speak to me telepathically?¡± The wolf seemed to grin. ¡°A natural trait of my people. You can do it too. Also I have been this size for two months ass whole.¡± He knocked Alex off and broke free of his restraints. Alex fell on his butt looking at him in mild annoyance. ¡°Hop on you need to meet Amelia and Victors kid before you go.¡± He telepathically talked to Alex. So Alex jumped on and they were off. Alex the flew through tree homes toward the home of their friend Alex felt a urge to scream a phrase he thought he would never get to say but he held it in and thought. ¡°I will use it when i go into battle with him.¡± a large smile creept onto his now bearded face. He then heard Weylyn ask ¡° What does "Lok-Tar Ogar!" mean?¡± ¡°Victory or Death¡± Alex replied. ¡°Thats a poor joke on your enemies.¡± Weylyn said. ------------------- Alex stood in near the exit of the city holding a small child in his arms. The age could be guessed around a year but was in fact six months old. He learned from the child''s parents that they age nearly double the rate of humans until they are an adult which is eighteen or nine years old. He handed the sleeping child back to its mother Amelia. ¡°Hope you all the best of luck.¡± He said giving a hug to the new parents. As he turned to leave; Merissa called out. ¡°Wait up!!¡± she was waving a hand frantically while toting a large blue sack. She wore the same dress without any shoes. She drug the sack next to Weylyn who was laying down a couple paces away from the family and the child. Alex raising an eyebrow at the sack asked her. ¡°What''s all that for?¡± She smiled a pretty little smile and replied with childlike innocence. ¡° For a carriage ride silly!¡± Alex walked over to her sack and opened it. It was full of clothes...mostly different types of undergarments. Merissa pushed him away turning beet red and stuttered out. ¡°H..hh...hey why did you do that?!¡± she started to look a mixture of embarrassment and anger. ¡°You didn¡¯t even pack any rope¡¡± Alex shook his head. She turned even redder and muttered. ¡°He¡¯s into that...hmm.¡± But he did not pay attention to her lewd thoughts...she was a kid after all and continued by saying. ¡°You don''t need even a third of those clothes. At most you need three three outfits, one pair of shoes and that''s it.¡± he shook his finger at her. ¡°Damn...rope...shit¡± Were his thoughts as he noticed what he was doing with his finger. He dropped his finger and shook his head and opened his inventory and pulled out a leather backpack and tossed it to her. ¡°You can keep what you can fit into that.¡± She looked as if about to cry but Alex had a time schedule to stick to and he didn''t want it ruined by some child thinking this was a romantic stroll. ¡°And I recommend something functional that beautiful. You have until I get back.¡± With that Alex headed to the market section of the city thinking. ¡°Shit nearly forgot rope¡¡± ----------------- A cloaked figure stood. Wisps of darkness floated of its body as it moved forward. It moved unseen in the crowded streets of the market sector. It saw what it was after and moved at a quickened pace, almost running. It ran past its target leaving a present in its pocket. A smile crossed it face as it disappeared. -------------- *You have acquired a Unique-Legendary Item!* *Ring* *Unknown Effect* *Sentient Item.* ¡°The ring is sentient but asleep. Awake it for more information.¡± a/n: He does not see this since it should be blue box text. Alex felt something in his trouser pocket. Putting his hand into his pocket he felt a circular metal object. He pulled it out and started to examine it. It was a smooth, golden band that was lighter that it should be. Alex held it up into the air letting the sun pass through the ring. ¡°Yep, not putting this on until the fire test.¡± He said with a smile putting it back into his pocket. And turned to walk into a general store that was said to sell rope. Using the meager wages he was able to obtain by selling the bones and skins of the beasts of the woods he was able to buy thirty feet of hemp rope. It cost eight silver pieces. The trio were now outside the city moving at a fast pace south west. Alex knew which way to go to get to Everbridge, the nearest human settlement. The End of Chapter 7: Back to the Wood Next chapter should be out by the 18th. *crosses fingers* Maybe before... Chapter 8: Training Hall Author Note- I will make this quick. I might be taking a quick break to create a storyboard for this series. And the one I am planning to start soon. So if I disappear for a week or so, blame me trying to create a solid continuity. Hope you enjoy the story or at least the background music. A Walking Song By: The Tolkien Ensemble Chapter 8: Training Hall The first night fell. Merissa cuddled up against Weylyn to keep warm in the cool night. Alex sat near the fire keeping it stoked. A thin wisp of smoke pillared into the sky. Alex looked toward the sky. The twinkling of the stars and multiple moons created a scene of immense beauty and splendour. The stars from his home were long since covered. He lay and closed his eyes and began to let his mind wander to times of happiness. --------------- Rebecca opened her eyes and found herself sitting against the fountain in a busy area. It was where she logged off but shops sprouted up and also did many more people found their way here. She began to think on what was the best thing to do. She spotted a tall man wearing chainmail armour with leather leggings with steel plates attached on the shin and the thigh. She guessed him to be a guard so she ran to him and asked politely. ¡°I am sorry to disturb you. I am new and was wondering where to start?¡± She looked at the tall man. He looked at her with hard eyes as if studying her then answered. ¡°Head to my right until you see a small building with a sword and staff sign hanging out front.¡± She thanked him and hurried off. ¡°Odd kid.¡± The guard thought seeing the girl run off toward the Training Hall. ------------ The building was run down with the sign only hanging by one hinge. It had no door with a ere darkness that held people from entering. The sound of weeping filled the stale air inside. A chill ran down Rebecca¡¯s spine as she neared the once white building. The building was in disrepair. As she stood a few meters away it gave off the feel of a haunted house. ¡°The man must be playing a joke¡± She thought as she began to walk towards it slowly. As she started to enter the doorway the weeping stopped as the weeping stopped so did Rebecca. She scanned her surroundings but she saw only darkness. A childs voice whispered. ¡°Dad-da, someone has come!¡± ¡° It seems so little one.¡± a man¡¯s voice replied. She heard a snap and spheres of light appeared lighting the building. The entrance was a large square room with a wooden floor that was covered in dust. To the left was an opening that lead to another room even larger than the entrance with the same floor but with a grey woolen matt in the middle of the room, surrounding that was twenty wooden practice dummies. On her right was a japanese sliding door leading to another part. ¡°What the hell! It¡¯s bigger on the inside!¡± Rebecca thought with her mouth hanging open. ¡°If you don''t close your mouth it will attract flies.¡± A small boy joked. She jumped and hit her head on the door frame. ¡°Is she fine?¡± a man said as he walked through the door leading to the other part of the training hall. ¡°Yeah , she just knocked herself out.¡± the boy smiled. As he floated next to the past out body of Rebecca. --------------- A flash of anger hit Alex as he opened his eyes. It left as fast it appeared. He sat up. ¡°Alex...Humans are near.¡± Weylyn transmitted. Alex shook his head. The morning sun started to peak over the horizon of the plains. He could see the outline of horses and men riding them to the west. ¡°Merissa wake up we seem to have company.¡±Alex said to the sleeping elf. She mumbled something incoherent as she rolled over. ¡°Should have left her...to late.¡± Alex thought as he stood up. ¡°Keep her safe will ya kiddo.¡± Alex transmitted ¡°Sure.¡± Weylyn transmitted back as he watched his friend walk to meet the incoming humans. -------- A lone man approached the patrol. Behind him was a large white wolf and the embers of a fire. The leader of the patrol rode ahead to speak to the man while the other two flanked him, Spears pointed up. ¡°What brings you here?¡± The scout asked the bearded man ¡°I am a wander.¡± he bowed. ¡°Again what brings you here?¡± The scout asked once more. ¡°Nothing. I go where I feel like.¡± He again bowed. The scouted looked to the Wolf. ¡°What is that monster? And why is it with you?¡± The bearded man smiled. ¡°That is my companion and mount,Weylyn.¡± ¡°You lie!¡± Anger clung to his voice. ¡°Do you want to race then? If I win he get to eat your horses.¡± a predatory smile spread on his lips. The scouts stiffened. ¡°No need.¡± They rode back to the main base to report back what they saw. --------- ¡°Did they take the offer?¡± Weylyn transmitted to Alex. ¡°No my friend they did not.¡± Alex had made sure to scare them off with that so as to keep them from trouble for the time being. ¡°Lets get out of here.¡± Weylyn stood leaving the elf girl half naked on the floor. Alex took out a cloak she packed and picked her up putting her on the back of Weylyn. He too hopped on his back in order to keep her from falling off. He kept a hand on her back as they rode. She would moan and whisper lewd things. ¡°What the hells wrong with this kid.¡± He thought as he raised an eyebrow after a couple very naughty lines. Something about hot wax and rope. He took out his canteen and poured cold water onto her face to wake her. ¡°Should have done this awhile ago.¡± She shot up losing her cloak. Her chest having nothing covering it bounced as Weylyn ran. This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.*Boing* *Boing* Alex handed her the cloak she had just lost. She still half asleep looked at the cloak in his hand. Then she felt a chill then looked down, then up again, then down. She screamed and grabbed the cloak and punched Alex in the face. ----------------- The walls of Everbridge stood in the distance as Alex began to bandage Merissa''s broken hand. She had changed into a light green dress after she hit him. It mached the cloak she wore well. ¡°Thats what you get for punching someone in the face.¡± He said as he finished. ¡°You were staring at my body!¡± She said angrily. ¡°I have a daughter. That does nothing for m¡..¡± he tried to reply but a foot got stuck in his mouth...her foot. -------------------- Rebecca lay in darkness. She was crying for her father. ¡°Dad¡¡± a tear started to run down her cheek. ¡°I am near kiddo.¡± her fathers voice echoed. She looked around for her father. She saw a dim light in the distance and ran to it. But the distance never decreased and she began to weep once more. ----------------- Rebecca bolted upright. Her cheeks red from tears she does not remember crying. The ghost of a small boy and a man stood over her. Watching as she slept. ¡°Who or what are you?¡± She asked with a trembling voice. The man cleared his voice. ¡°My name is Richard Alexton and this is my son Fergus. We run the Training Hall.¡± They both bowed towards her and the child continued where his father left off. ¡°And you are the first Traveler to enter here!¡± He smiled. She was a little shaken but replied formally. ¡°My name is Rebecca Roe.¡± She forgot to use her ingame name. The man spoke. ¡°Nice to meet you Rebecca! Here we will teach you!¡± The room began to shake as a strong magical energy rushed through the Training Hall. Rebecca passed out as the energy entered her body. ------------------ The day had started to end. The walls to the city was a couple hour walk away. Merissa lay against Weylyn curled up in her cloak, still wearing her dress. There was no fire but the moons light the night well enough. ¡°I can transform into a human Alex.¡± Weylyn said with some hesitation. ¡°I know what it does to you.¡± Alex looked to the pup knowingly. ¡°Don''t worry. ¡®It¡¯ will not happen this time.¡± a dim light covered his body. It began to pulse and each time it pulsed his body shrunk. Before long he was the size and shape of a human man. He was slender with good muscle definition. His hair was silver and ragged. Merissa lay on his naked lap. ¡°Do you have any spare clothes?¡± Weylyn asked with his new deep voice as he stroked Merissa¡¯s hair. Alex looked into his inventory and gave him some spare clothes. It was linen trousers and a white linen shirt. Weylyn put her head on her backpack and changed into his new outfit. His golden eyes caught the moonlight and glowed. ¡°How do they fit?¡± Alex asked from the spot he sat. ¡°Good enough¡± He replied taking his spot as Merissa¡¯s pillow. ¡°What now?¡± he asked. ¡°Sleep. I will sing to pass the time I suppose.¡± Alex replied and began singing in a pleasant tone. ¡°Sing all ye joyful, now sing all together? The wind?s in the free-top, the wind?s in the heather; The stars are in blossom, the moon is in flower, And bright are the windows of Night in her tower. Dance all ye joyful, now dance all together! Soft is the grass, and let foot be like feather! The river is silver, the shadows are fleeting; Merry is May-time, and merry our meeting. Sing we now softly, and dreams let us weave him! Wind him in slumber and there let us leave him! The wanderer sleepeth. Now soft be his pillow! Lullaby! Lullaby! Alder and Willow! Sigh no more Pine, till the wind of the morn! Fall Moon! Dark be the land! Hush! Hush! Oak, Ash, and Thorn! Hushed be all water, till dawn is at hand! ¡° Elves Lullaby - J.R.R. Tolkien Alex noticed they were both asleep so he began again with another song. One he remembered from another story¡ Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, We''ll wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, All shall fade! All shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! A Walking Song - J.R.R. Tolkien The End of Chapter 8: Training Hall Author Note- Sorry for the page of songs. Didn''t know how exactly to continue this at the moment. Chapter 9: The Sun on the Horizon Chapter 9: The Sun on the Horizon Lament For Boromir By: The Tolkien Ensemble Alex stood once more in the void. He knew it was different here that when he was on earth. When he was on earth it was a shell or a prison for his darker thoughts that would surface during times of great turmoil. Here though it was a vast expanse of something...new. The light at the corner of his eye, the power of magic beckoned to him. He fears the torrent now. The power is a lie for madness layers underneath the bright sheen. He notices a small light in the distance. It flickers like a candle flame. He moves towards it. As he reaches the light he hears a airey whisper. ¡°The Wolf brings Light. The Elf Brings Love The Human Brings Strength The Child Brings Rest It will Fall to Darkness She will Fade. He will Break You She will Not Wake¡± His eyes opened and the starry night greets him. ¡°Hope that was an attempt at a cryptic poem¡¡± Alex mutters pushing himself into a sitting position. He looks toward his sleeping companions. Merissa was snuggling into Weylyn¡¯s chest while he was using his hands as pillows snoring softly. Alex¡¯s eyes drifted to the west. ¡°So thats is where I might be able to get training.¡± a small smile touched his lips. ¡°The road goes ever on ¡¡± --------------------- Rebecca lay weak on the ground. Her body drenched in sweat. ¡°Sorry about that.¡± Fergus said sheathing his wooden sword. He bent over trying to help Rebecca up. She took his help. ¡°Thought you said something about teaching me the Art of War.¡± she muttered angrily when she was able to keep her footing. ¡°It¡¯s your fault for not being a good fighter, tactician,or even pretty enough to seduce your enemies.¡± the child said angrily back. Richard sat in the background pouring himself tea. Since she came they regained their corporeal bodies. It was a curse on the training hall. As long as no one was trained they would die and wait for a new charge. The last person they trained left to train the town guard some twenty years ago. As the two fought back and forth with sword and tongue Richard sipped on his hot tea. Someone neared the training hall entrance. It was a man. He was tall and muscular. He stood nearly seven feet tall in steel plate. On his back he wore a rectangular shield that covered his back. For a weapon he wore a mighty hammer on his belt. He face was that a dark skinned male in his mid-late thirties. Rebecca saw the large man and smiled. ¡°Uncle Michael!¡± she ran to him giving him a hug. ¡°Hey,Rebecca.¡± He smiled patting her head. ¡°Sorry for not visiting. Got busy shooting a movie and didn¡¯t hear about it until today.¡± A tear fell on her head. ¡°Yeah¡do you want to add each other to friends?¡± she whispered. ¡°Sure.¡± ¡®Send Friend request too Rebecca Roe¡¯ *Do you wish to be friends with Michael Eckles?* ¡°Yes.¡± *You have added Michael To friends* *You have Two Friends Online.* ¡°huh?¡± she stared at the message in dazed confusion. ¡°Open Freinds List.¡± *Two are Online* -Alexander Roe- -Michael Eckles- *Do you wish to create a conversation?* ¡°Yes...Create Conversation with Alexander Roe.¡± -------------- As the sun rose Alex began to sing another song that rose from memory...it was a love song written by one of his most favorite authors of all time. a/n- Listen and sing along. Tin¨²viel was dancing there To music of a pipe unseen, And light of stars was in her hair, And in her raiment glimmering. There Beren came from mountains cold, And lost he wandered under leaves, And where the Elven-river rolled He walked alone and sorrowing. He peered between the hemlock-leaves And saw in wonder flowers of gold Upon her mantle and her sleeves, And her hair like shadow following. Enchantment healed his weary feet That over hills were doomed to roam; And forth he hastened, strong and fleet, And grasped at moonbeams glistening. Through woven woods in Elvenhome She lightly fled on dancing feet, And left him lonely still to roam In the silent forest listening. He heard there oft the flying sound Of feet as light as linden-leaves, Or music welling underground, In hidden hollows quavering. Now withered lay the hemlock-sheaves, And one by one with sighing sound Whispering fell the beachen leaves In the wintry woodland wavering. He sought her ever, wandering far Where leaves of years were thickly strewn, By light of moon and ray of star In frosty heavens shivering. Her mantle glinted in the moon, As on a hill-top high and far She danced, and at her feet was strewn A mist of silver quivering. When winter passed, she came again, And her song released the sudden spring, Like rising lark, and falling rain, And melting water bubbling. He saw the elven-flowers spring About her feet, and healed again He longed by her to dance and sing Upon the grass untroubling. Again she fled, but swift he came. Tin¨²viel! Tin¨²viel! He called her by her elvish name; And there she halted listening. One moment stood she, and a spell His voice laid on her: Beren came, And doom fell on Tin¨²viel That in his arms lay glistening. As Beren looked into her eyes Within the shadows of her hair, The trembling starlight of the skies He saw there mirrored shimmering. Tin¨²viel the elven-fair, Immortal maiden elven-wise, About him cast her shadowy hair And arms like silver glimmering. Long was the way that fate them bore, O''er stony mountains cold and grey, Through halls of ireon and darkling door, And woods of nightshade morrowless. The Sundering Seas between them lay, And yet at last they met once more, And long ago they passed away In the forest singing sorrowless. Written by J.R.R. Tolkien --------------------- Tears fell from Rebecca¡¯s face and she fell to her knees. Her father sang this to her when she was a child as a bedtime story. ¡°He¡¯s alive...?!?¡± she cried. Michael knelt down and hugged her whispering soothing words into her ear. Generalization of Chapter 10 Author Note- Last time I will be writing for a very long while.
