《The guy with only one good stat...》
Rebirth (prolog)
"YES!!! I HAVE DONE IT!!!" he thought to himself, as he looked around in this new world. He had successfully gotten himself summoned as a hero like all of the stories he had read. He was standing in the middle of a throne room surrounded by lavish nobles.
He looked down, and noticed that he was standing on a large magic array, its patterns far more complex then he would dare to attempt to comprehend. On either side of him were several dozen exhausted people garbed in robes. They looked old and experience, presumably they were the ones who had just summoned him.
He was so happy that this moment had finally come, he shouted the word he had been waiting to say... He wondered what wonders of a class and what broken stats the world would give him
Name: Do you even have one?

One thought ran through his head...
"WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH THESE STATS?!?!?!?!!?!"
The abilities...
"Is something wrong my lord?" One of the robed figured to the side of him asked cautiously. This hero had taken a large portion of their resources to summon, and while it was good that he already knew how to access his status, the reaction he showed the assembled mages council was ... odd...
"No, nothing wrong, really... truly... Hey, I had a few small questions. I know that there should be a way to see what skills and spell I have, what command is it?" Their hero asked. He seemed a bit comfortable with this... That was good, the mage who was asked thought. They had prepared an extensive explanation and a few attractive females to calm him down, but if he did not need them that was time well saved. (poor mc >.< Misses out on the stats and the girlz. Is this my stress relief from now on?)
The mage decided to answer the question, by giving the obvious answer,
"Say open spell list. All spells you are currently able to use, their mana costs and their casting times are displayed there. Please, when you are ready, tell us what you posses so we can ascertain if we need to bolster your stats before you head off to war..."
The man hesitated for a moment, but even still the words came out of his mouth after that moment.
"Open spell list..."
Before him was displayed a detailed list of what he knew and "could" use once he had the appropriate stats... the contents were as follows:
1. Creation, Mana cost, 4,000,000,000,000 mana
[This magic will allow you to create an existence with a consciousness of its own. A higher magic attack stat will determine the ability and intelligence of the being. A stat from 1-50 will create a low level lifeform, a stat from 50-200 will create a medium level life form, such as a human or centaur. A stat between 201 and 999 will higher level life form, such as a dragon, phoenix or elder hydra. Stats of 1000+ will create lifeforms akin to gods...]
2. Destruction, Mana cost, 7 x 10^26 mana
[This magic will only need to be cast once, but upon that cast the user gains complete control over the universe and can command the destruction of everything or anything in it. The cast summons a counter, tallying a certain % of allowed destruction. Upon reaching the end of this counter the user is returned to their original stats, and the destroyed things are lost forever. One can return to existence anything destroyed by the destruction spell if one sacrifices the same % destruction that was used to destroy the item in the first place. As stated before, this can only be used if you possess enough space on the counter to revive the destroyed item...]
3. Mastery of Elements, Mana cost, 10,000,000 mana
[This magic gives the user complete control over any and all elements in their vicinity. Once cast the effect lasts only for a brief period before needing to be re cast, but during that time the user governs the world. ]
4. Will of the gods, Mana cost, 999,999,999 mana
[This magic imposes the will of the user upon the world, giving them complete control of the existence of magic itself. Any spell, other then those which cost more then this, can be instantly cast, and can also be cancelled instantly. Upon reaching this level one is considered a full god, and all magic essentially becomes useless against that person.
5. Hero Summoning magic, Mana cost, varying, Min 19,999 - Max 199,999 mana
[This magic is used to summon a hero from another world. The caster can be a single person or a group of people. The hero summoned and their stats are completely random, regardless of the amount of mana consumed, the only thing that changes is the likely hood that the ceremony will succeed.]
If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it.
6. Master magic, Mana cost, 12,000 mana
[This is the mastery of master class magic, when cast, for a brief period of time all master level spells of equal or lower cost become instant cast. Mana used to fuel the spell is placed in a reserve and a counter is summoned. The spells which are instant cast using this spell will have mana drawn from the pool rather then the caster, and the counter will change depending on the amount of mana left in the pool. The pool cannot be replenished nor will it perish until all mana is spent.]
7. Expert magic, Mana cost, 7,000 mana
[This is the mastery of expert class magic, when cast, for a brief period of time all expert level spells of equal or lower cost become instant cast.
8. Advanced magic, Mana cost, 1,000 mana
[This is the mastery of Advanced class magic, when cast, for a brief period of time all advanced level spells of equal or lower cost become instant cast.
9. Mediocre magic. Mana cost, 500 mana
[This is the mastery of mediocre class magic, when cast, for a brief period of time all mediocre level spells of equal or lower cost become instant cast.
10. The asshole move. Mana cost, 2 mana
[Sucks to be you doesnt it? To not have even the slightest hope of fighting back against anything in this planet, Well let me tell you what, when you find a way to double your current mana, and dig yourself out of your current situation, I will allow you, no give you the ability to use all beginner magic for only 2 mana a piece. No tricks this time, I swear.... I mean, You trust me right?]
I left the last one out in my explanation to the priest, it seems like all of my spells are "god" level spells, that no mortal has ever been gifted before. Just for possessing them all of the people in the room looked at me with respect.
"What about skills? Is that a similar command?" I asked, making sure before I made myself look like a dumbass in front of all these people. That would totally ruin their impression of me if I were to mess up now...
"Yes, Just say ''open skills'' and a similar window should appear"
"Open skills..." I said, and upon seeing the first skill on the list I had the urge to hit myself in the head at my luck...
The skills...
Alrght guys, I have a decent idea of where I want this to go now, Just wait till he gets his name, Im tearing up right now just thinking about it, I cant wait xD. Gunna put up a poll to decide. Do you want him
A) To eventually get op
B) be completely fucked over
C) let me decide and see how it turns out...
Without further adieu here is the skill list...And possibly the naming ceremony....
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Avoiding the prying eyes of those around him, he was sure by not that nobody else could see his status, as if they were he would have already been discounted in the eyes of everyone else in the room....
He glanced at his first skill, and the hope that his skill tree would make up for the poor stats and useless spells faded...
(sorry guys i dont have time to do a fancy table lol, so here is a simplified one... Thank Skorfeus for the link!! Ty Skorfeus :D)
1. Universal assimilation...... This allows the user to use any one skill to bolster any other skill. IE you can convert magic attack stat into health, or mana. The conversion ratio is low at first but over time as the skill levels up the ratio has the potential to surpass 100%
Skill level 1: 0.00% proficiency
Just kidding :D You dont honestly think I would allow you to get out of your predicament so easily do you? The true first skill is the ability to use the second skill...
2. Intimidation of the impostor, Level Requirement, 170, or possessing a skill to allow use.
This skill allows the user to gain a "number" equaling their rough strength. This number is decided by all of their stats added up and divided by the number of stats (its the average stat)
This includes health and mana, but excludes health and mana regeneration.
Skill level 1: 0.00% proficiency
Your number : 400.1 (He has 12 stats, so its 4791+11 / 12)
3. Amplification of skill #2, Requirement, "skill number 2"; "level 170 or skill #1"...
This skill allows you to take your "number" from the intimidation of the impostor skill and apply it to other people. If your number is larger then theirs, they will willingly submit to your "power" no matter if you would not be able to defeat them in a fight. There is a catch however, If you attempt to use this skill on people with a higher number they will disregard you as useless and most likely challenge you to a fight and/or slander you publicly, this will result in those under the control of this skill to be released from its effects and those released will most likely be very angry at your bluff... Seriously though, use it wisely and on weak (ish) opponents...
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.Skill level 1: 0.00% proficiency... [Higher levels of this skill will allow the user to gain more loyalty while it is active, influence more people, and at the peak of power, it does something.... special]
4. Inquiry, No requirement.
This skill allows the user to get a rough estimate of a persons number. If the number is more then 100 in either direction the number will only be shown as "???". At low levels the number does not actually show, instead it shows up as "close," or "far," These are in respect to the user, and close could be either higher or lower, same with far..
Skill level 1: 0.00% proficiency [Higher levels of proficiency allow the user to pry a rough estimate of a persons number, and even higher will allow an exact number...]
5. Fates frowned upon. Requirement, Seriously dude I dont know why I''m picking on you, Maybe I will make it up to you one day? NAAAAAA who am I kidding?
This skill is the peak of all bad luck. It sets all of the users stats to one, without exception.
Skill level, : Passive Effect : Nope your fucked dude...
6. Alright I guess I had to give you something...
This skill massively boosts one random stat on the holders stat page. This skill has never been seen before, and it is unknown why or how it has come into existence...
Skill level : Passive Effect : Massive bonus to Magic attack.
7. Not sure if I actually want to tell you what this does yet...
This ski!#^!^@!^!@^ !@)%!@%)!@%*!@)$!@# _!@)#!@%!@%^@!^&&@#$&@&@# &@#@#$@#$@!!! !!%@#^&@#& Shut up skill tree, he doesn''t get to know about this one yet....
Skill level : !)+@%!@)%^U!@%_!@$+!@#$!@)!%^!@^!@^)*!@^@_!^*!@_^!@(%!@%!@~~))(% ^*!@_#(!_#(
I SAID FUCK OFF SKILL TREE.. gosh, why don''t you listen
8. Nope.... Move on to nine
9. And finally the creme of the crop, the one you have been waiting for right?
This skill has a one time use. It will allow the user to cast an unknown magic only once, for free. This magic can be beneficial, harmful, completely useless, or destroy the universe itself. It truly is random, but knowing your luck I wouldn''t try it...

The man was suddenly overwhelmed with a deep depression, wanting nothing more then to curl up on the ground and cry... Why had this happened to him? Why did it have to be this way?...
The name (we start the story next chapter)
Now then, on to the actual story(almost lol, I just had to give him a name....). For those of you wondering what will happen, well here is what I can tell you... I have no fucking idea either... Shall we find out?
(we start the story next chapter)
------------
"My lord, are you alright?" A rather important looking priest asked me. I nodded, not wanting my true stats to be exposed so easily.
After a moment of deliberation I activated my 4th skill, the inquiry skill. This was just to give me a cursory glance at the rough strengths of everyone in this room. To my surprise many of the people''s power levels showed up as "???". Indicating that they were either far away from me or under my level of power by a large portion.
No, let me rephrase that, far above me was a given, what was really being shown were which ones I might have the ability to trick into thinking that I was more powerful then they were.
|
Through the use of the first use of the skill, and on a large number of people, skill number four has risen a level. Effect increased to give a rough estimation of strength through coloration of number. |
Surprisingly, that was easy.. Far too easy, I smell troll gods at work here...
Instantly all of the far''s and close''s that I could see took on a tinge of color, from yellow to light purple. Seriously? Who uses yellow and purple in order to differentiate between good and bad? This is essentially useless right now until I get a better grasp of which color I could control and which one was out of my league... for now....
"That is good," The priest who had asked the question earlier said, nodding up and down. A moment later, he flinched as if a he had just thought of something. He hesitated to ask me his new question that he no doubt just thought of...
"Excuse me my lord, but do you have a name?" I stared at the man blankly. Of course I have a name, it was....
it was....
....
did her seriously?
...
make me forget my name?
...
Once more my heart filled with rage at this unknown entity whose new favorite hobby was fucking with my life.
Seeing my hesitation the man nodded a few times to himself then made the announcement and suggestion to all of the people present before I could stop him.
"Our hero needs a name as he has decided to cast his old identity aside and help us with our problems. Please your holy-ness, pray for a divine oracle on what our hero''s new name shall be!"

Thunderous applause followed the announcement much to my distress. Suddenly, an old fat guy sitting by the throne (not on it) knelt down with his hands raised to the sky. All people followed his example of kneeling down. The room went silent, so silent that you could hear a pin drop. Nobody dared to breath for the fear that they may invoke the gods wrath.
This god that they are praying to, he couldn''t possibly be?...
As I wondered whether this country supported or was against the god which had tormented me so for the past five minutes, the silence continued. On and on, nobody daring to break it until a name was announced by the pope. I made the decision at that point that if this was a "religious" conflict in origin, I would side with the faction that was against this cruel god...
One minute passed... Five.... Ten, Suddenly one of the guards in the back of the room ripped a massive fart. It echoed throughout the room, accompanied by the simultaneous turning of several hundred bowed heads to see who the source of the sound was.
After the first echo died out, the pope stood up...
Oh god
NO
THIS IS NOT FAIR
DONT YOU DARE!!!!
OR I FUCKING SWEAR I WILL- "I have received the divine oracle of our lord, the hero''s new name shall be ''Fartiman Tinklebim''"
WHY CRUEL WORLD!!!!!
To confirm if this was actually happening or not, I decided to open my status, and there it was, plain as day
| Name : Fartiman Tinklebim |
The crowd unleashed a torrent of thundering applause and cheers at this "divine" name, given to me by the gods themselves. I am convinced that the god was either watching and couldn''t think of a ''good'' name until this one spontaneously hit him, or he was the one who instigated the fart so he could give me this specific name.
I had already come to the conclusion that after I become op this country which worshiped this warped twisted god ( hey that''s me :''o ) would burn to the ground, all its temples would be destroyed, all priests castrated, all idols and objects of warship shall have their existence erased. With that, my objective in this world was established...
--------------------------------------------------
Seriously though guys, next time is story I promise....
That name though...
The Continuation
Alright guys, sorry for the delay...Now on to the plot... (I had to argue with myself over where to take this, among other things...)
------------------------
With the established objective, I started my planning...
Of course, for now I am useless in everything except for my ridiculously high magic attack. This rendered any "short term" plans for vengeance against this god to be cast aside from sheer impossibility.
After the ceremony was over I walked up to the man that I assumed was the "pope", this was the same man who
had gotten everyone in the room, including the king, to kneel and pray while awaiting my name. He smiled as I approached.
"Greeting Lord Tinklebim. How my I assist our lords chosen hero?" He said with a serious face. For some reason nobody else took any offense or thought of my name as comical. While I assumed this was due to their reverence to their god or the popes declaration that it was a divine oracle, I decided to put this to the side for now, and continue on with my original question.
"Greeting, I had a small question mr...?"
"Ah! I am lord pope Gon-phahtmmahn. I would be happy to help in any way possible." He said with a slight chuckle. Inwardly laughed at his name, wondering if lord fatman''s was also given to him by the divine asshole.
"Ah yes, as I am quite new to this world, I lack knowledge of magic, specifically if there exists something that could aide me in casting magic for less mana, or in expanding my maximum mana or something of the sort that I could use to supplement my own mana pool." I said seemingly reverent to his position in this room. In actuality though, I didn''t give a fatman for who Mr. Fatman was, but making my aggression and anger known would only make my life harder and could very possibly get me killed.
"Ah of course Lord Tinklebim; While what you seek only exists in myth, there are references made to it in the holy texts of our lord. You seek the eye of Sarobrax." He nodded a few times, but seeing as how I had no idea what he was talking about, he continued, "Sarobrax was the queen of all dragons. She was sealed long ago, it was hinted at in the texts that her power over the dragons and their mastery of magic. With her power comes a massively increased mana pool and the opportunity to gain the loyalty of the remaining dragons should you best them in combat. Other then this however, there is only one method to attain a larger mana pool, and this is to take someone''s mana. This mana is only temporary however, and will kill the person should you take more then half of what they have. It is also extremely painful for both sides. For the target because his/her life force is being forcibly pulled out by another force, and for the user because their body cannot withstand the mana that they are taking, causing the body to break down from the inside out. Regardless, both methods have been banned, for obvious reasons. " The pope said with a small sigh.
Unauthorized use: this story is on Amazon without permission from the author. Report any sightings.
"That is a shame, All of my magic requires a pool larger then what I have..." I muttered under my breath. The pope seems to have heard my comment, and proceeded to say,
"Of course, for the hero, no method is truly "forbidden" except unleashing the dragon queen. Should you ask I could subtly arrange for a few... subordinates, who''s sole job would be to aide you in your quest against our enemies. You would be sure to take care not to kill them with over leeching right?" The pope said, as he lowered his voice and glanced around at the higher ups in the room. All of them were minding their own business and had not been paying much attention to our conversation, or they were simply respecting pope Fatman. Regardless of their reasons, all of them were out of earshot when he and I were talking.
"That would be much appreciated your grace, now, who exactly are we fighting?" I asked still unsure if this method of revenge actually just fell into my lap this easily. They were not only sanctioning my usage of "forbidden" methods but were even allowing me hosts to take mana from. This was the best news that I had heard all day. Now I only needed to subtly make my way to the enemy capitol and defect so that I could destroy this idiot country that worshiped this asshole god.
"Of course, the explanation is a long one, I will be sure to personally explain it to you after dinner." With the mention of dinner the fat man chuckled to himself. " By then I will have hand picked a group of guards for your personal use. Each of them will be utterly loyal and have a high base mana pool. I might even throw in a few... extras... but do keep in mind, that although our lord sanctions ''freedom'' some things are best kept separate from war... Now, I am off to attend my duties Lord Tinklebim, I will see you later when I have completed my preparations..." And with that the pope sauntered off, leaving me "unattended" by nobles for only a few moments as I was soon overwhelmed by a large amount of minor and major nobles.
After an hour or so, when everyone''s curiosity had been sated, they disperesed, leaving me alone in the room. I heard a small whisper from behind the throne beckoning to me.
"Lord Tinklebim, please, this way..." I turned and saw a cute lady, in her late teens telling me to follow her down a hallway....
