《Corruption》 Chapter 0 Prologue Whe¡­ where am I? I look and wonder where this dark ominous place is. I started to wonder if I¡¯m dead or just dreaming¡­ But this looks surreal I checked to look at my left and right and saw nothing but empty void space. I tried moving my hands but failed to, it¡¯s like something is holding me although I can¡¯t move my hands I could still move my head. And then I heard a voice a faint voice to be exact it told me to wake up. So I did. (3 days ago) I¡¯m inside my room I check to look at my clock and see what time it is. It¡¯s exactly 3:00 am. I got scared and started to hide in my comforter because of almost all horror movies stopping at 3:00 is a bad sign. I woke up the next day feeling much more rested. I walk out of my room and see a letter on the table I opened it and it said In the next few hours your wit and strength will be challenged by a foe who stronger and smarter than you. ~D I was dumbstruck the initials is ¡°D¡± this guy has been in the news for the last few days and in all the cases a person gets a letter from this D guy and just disappears without a trace¡­ I don¡¯t even know how this letter got in to my house the alarm didn¡¯t turn on or anything. I started running back to my room and to take my phone and call the cops. By the time I called the cops the alarm started beeping. I pleaded the 911 responder to get the cops in my place ASAP. After that I silence phone and turned it off. I started to slowly find a piece of equipment that could harm the perpetrator the most. I took a step back and started to look for one and only saw three objects that could do something and it was a laptop, pencil and a perfume bottle to stun him for a second. I took the pencil and the perfume bottle because those two are the lightest and the things that could do the most damage. I took one thing in each hand and waited I also knew a few taekwondo moves because I took lessons when I was a kid and I got to blue belt. I suddenly heard a creaking sound and slowly coming near me¡­ Then I heard the police siren out of nowhere and the person suddenly started running down and once I heard this I was relief about this. But I still stayed there till the police arrived to pick me. In the next few minutes I heard the police coming in and one of them went to my room and found me. They asked me what happened and why I was hiding behind the door and I told them everything. Once I told them everything the police claimed that they didn¡¯t saw anything, but then again reported this to appease me. I took some time off at work because of this and stayed at my house for 3 days. Till I had to go back to work at the hospital, don¡¯t get me wrong I¡¯m not a doctor or anything I was only a nurse in there. But I did however save a few lives before and I am really proud of myself for doing that. I started to walk out of my house and smell the open breeze it felt nice because of the fact that I haven¡¯t been outside for the past few days. I started heading down to the hospital. While on my way there I saw two men harassing a high school student. Like the Bad Samaritan I am I just walked past them? Well no not really I¡¯m always the type of guy who will stand up to a person in distress and help them in any way possible. I knew this two couldn¡¯t be reason with so I started to walk near them slowly and stealthily god I felt like a ninja right now the first one I karate chopped in the next so hard he fell down in the floor within seconds and before the other guy knew I started sleep choke him. In a mere minute those two men were out cold. I look at the guy I just inevitably save and ask him if his ok he nodded. After a few seconds he asked what my name was and I told him, my name is Jacob. So out of curiosity I also asked him what his name was and he told me none of your business and suddenly he patted my shoulder with his left hand and stabbed me with the other hand the same time. At first I didn¡¯t know I was stabbed. Before I knew it I was also punched in the head and kicked to the ground. I started bleeding profusely and with my last remaining strength I managed to ask why. I closed my eyes and welcome death but before I fell unconscious the guy said something. The man started carrying me and showed me to other woman in the room who is absolutely stunning. Her blue eyes are as blue as the ocean waves, and her hair is as red and shining as the sun and peach skin. God that woman was very attractive. Then it suddenly struck me I look carefully look down to check my body and saw a small figure. I am a baby¡­ Did I get reincarnated where was this? And I suddenly just noticed the man¡¯s and woman¡¯s clothing it wasn¡¯t modern it more or less look like medieval times¡­ I started moving my head to look at the room and saw a big marble floor beneath us and flower vase lined up near the bed and the bed was simply gorgeous. Then I heard the man who I assumed is my father and is some kind of noble said ¡°Julia what is our son doing?¡± my father asked my mom and my mom simply replied with a low and weak voice ¡°I have no idea and quick give him a name¡± ¡°Let¡¯s call him Arthur¡± my father said solemnly and looked at my mother¡¯s approval and my mother nodded her head in approval. My father smiled at her and started looking and at me with hopeful and prideful eyes. I started thinking what just happened. Everything came out just too fast very fast to be exact. A few days ago I was already at my late 30¡¯s and I helped someone and that guy suddenly stabbed me and killed me¡­ Now I¡¯m reincarnated in to a baby from some wealth noble on the middle ages? Or maybe even a fantasy world! Now that I think about it this is going to be a fun life very fun indeed. (Jack POV) I¡¯m Jack I¡¯m 28 years old a Convicted felon, for my felony I got charged on murder, racketeering and last one but not least and my favorite prostitution! I was walking down the streets then suddenly two huge men suddenly appeared in front of me. For a normal person they do look quite the menacing type but for me their nothing but a second rate extortionist. It¡¯s been a few days since I last killed someone this going to be fun I told myself. I started reaching out for my knife while completely ignoring them and I was about to pull out my knife then suddenly one of the guy just fell down unconscious and the other guys was suddenly put in to a choke hold my a random person. I got completely shocked. Really shocked it took him a minute at most to finish these two guys after he finished those two guys he suddenly looked at me. Me wanting to know what his name was I asked him right away? He replied and told me it¡¯s Jacob and he asked for what my name was. I got all flustered on thinking what to do and created a plan on what to do. In which I made in a few seconds of thinking I told him ¡°None of your business¡± then I quickly took my left hand and hold his shoulder and stabbed him in the abdomen with the right. Right after that I punched him in the face and then kicked him down to floor till the point that the blood was pouring down. Then I quickly told him ¡°It¡¯s not your fault entirely¡± ¡°but you did steal my kill¡± ¡°hate me if you want I really don¡¯t care about a dead man¡± I told him mockingly. Then I saw him closed his eyes and he died there lying down. But what I didn¡¯t notice this got a lot of attention because this was out on the streets in just a few seconds a few police car got here and I got arrested. Damn this was a bad day for me. But unlucky for the other guy I told myself with a hint of smile in my face. Chapter 1: Brief History of Polerna 2 months later In two months I learned a lot of new things about this world. This wasn¡¯t earth that¡¯s for sure. In these months I learned how to read it was fairly easy it¡¯s similar to English but just a few minor changes. I also learned how to walk but only slowly and I just fall down after 20 seconds max. Oh and I almost forgot my father wasn¡¯t just any kind of noble he is the king. I started crawling to my father¡¯s room and I stumbled to an old book the title of the book is [History of Polerna]. At least now I know what this world is called that¡¯s a start I told myself. The old book wasn¡¯t dusty or anything you could see this was cleaned every day. I started opening the book and the first thing I saw was the book of contents it came like this; [pg 3 Creation of Polerna] [pg 31 Races] [pg 62 Gods] [pg 102 Kingdoms] [pg 130 Major events] I quickly turned the page to pg 31 I needed to know what the races were I started reading the chapter thoroughly after a few hours of reading my older sister came to father¡¯s room and started to bug me while I was reading. I shouted at her then cried my mother, the queen suddenly came to her room and heard me shouting and she saw my sister annoying me and she got in trouble. I laughed at her in my head. I started reading again and finally finish. From what I learned there was 20 or more races but they were categorize in one kind of race so there was 5 kind of race and they are Human, Elves, Dwarves, Orcs and Demon. There was a few other kind of races but were never categorize as a race but merely a monster for example the undead created by Necromancer. Some great Necromancers can create Undead with a brain of its own. Now For the Human race it was split in to 4 different races such as Katien my kingdom, Pratin also known as the Desert people a Northman also known as the Winter people and Jorling also known as the Rock people. All four races have their own kingdom but all of them accept every kind of human even other races. Though the elves are the most unique race, at one point of the history all elves were living in one empire. Called the Elven Empire but for unknown reason it crumbled and the elves went with their own stuff. There were a few races of elves they are: Dark Elves, Wind Elves, Water Elves, Forest Elves, Magic Elves and Fire Elves. But out of the 6 races of Elves three of them got extinct they were Wind Elves, Fire Elves and Water elves. Please report it. The dwarves had three races base on their skills. Those three races have their own kings but they still live with each other in one big joint kingdom. The kingdoms are split in two three factions and they are the Warrior, the Magic and last but not least technological dwarves. For the orcs and Demon races not much was known in both because Orc was never a literature race and the Demon was everyone¡¯s common enemy. Next I learned about the Kingdoms there was a lot of kingdom. 4 Kingdoms was for the humans 2 kingdoms for the Elves and 1 kingdom for the orcs and tribes for the Forest elves and Demons. There was a few gods as well they are the following: Creator: Created the realms of man and magic. Technically the creator of the world¡­ Ouran: Brother to the creator and the evil one And there was the Eternal Beings the sons of the creator and the bane of Ouran. Uros was the god of Order but after the fight against Ouran, Xecien won and killed Ouran but Xecien was influenced and became the god of Chaos. Cosmos is the King of the Gods, it is said that the creator gave most of his powers to cosmos that the creator vanished. Nylene is the Goddess of Nature Xeona is the Goddess of Light and is the Ruler of the Angels Theda is the God of Death and the leader of the Reapers who are the Harbinger of Death And lastly,Aesis the god of Elements the creator of the 9 elemental knights who represent each elements. The next morning I got woken up by someone carrying me once I started opening my eyes I saw the perpetrator it was my mom going down the stairs and going to the dining table. Once we got there I saw another man who¡¯s in his teen and resembled my dad a little bit. My mom started to put me on the chair after she did, she herself sat down. At the very same time they started talking casually and alas my mom told me in a cheerful voice ¡°This is your brother Jon¡± while still smiling at me and my brother Jon himself told me ¡°Hey little arth¡± he said gleefully to me. My mom started asking my sister Arianne about her school and if she¡¯s doing well and all. My sister nodded to her and told us about her small adventure with some of his friends when they found the 3 old necromancers guarding some kind of room and how they defeated those old necromancers. At first my mother Julia, was shocked about this and told Arianne to never do this again. But my Father disagreed and told Julia to give Arianne more freedom like Jon. Julia gave an irritated look at my father said ¡°Asher!¡± she said loudly with a hint of frustration in her voice ¡°What? I¡¯m just giving Arianne more freedom to be more independent and strong woman¡± Asher said solemnly to my mother with a smile in his face Julia sighed in defeat and said to my father ¡°fine, fine¡± After the small fight was over Arianne, Jon and I were looking at both them. While Jon and Arianne were trying to hold their laughs I just started laughing. 3 years past! (Well guys there¡¯s probably going to be a few more time skip after this but once Arthur becomes 10 I assure you there would be almost no time skip) Wow, the last 3 years was very fast I told myself. I can now walk and talk properly like with right etiquette and manners to everyone. I¡¯m pretty excited about the upcoming test for people who are age 3. At this point of your life Noble or not you will be tested on your affinity to elements. If it¡¯s Low-Medium-High Affinity and High being the Highest and Low being the lowest pretty self-explanatory right? There are 8 Elements you can get and most people would only have one affinity to one single element. But some being special and getting a Dual elementalist is a pretty rare chance, but Triple elementalist is almost unheard of because only one person has ever gotten it and is the once Great Ruler of the Elven empire 4000 odd years ago. In a few hours I¡¯ll be joining the other Noble kids on what our affinities would be. I came up to my Father and ask him a question about what are the 8 elements just to be sure and he replied; ¡°The elements are Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Lightning, Ice, Poison and Sand.¡± He told me is with a hint of a grin in his face and quickly added ¡°Don¡¯t worry you¡¯re probably going to have either Fire or water because your mom is a Water affinity and I¡¯m a fire affinity¡± he told me. ¡°Yes dad!¡± I told him enthusiastically and hugged him and then ran off to my room. An hour past by and a sudden knock on the door shocked me for a little bit. I asked who the knocker was and it was one of the servants. The servant then proceeded and said ¡°Prince, your father the King has asked you to change your clothes to go to the test¡± she said in a well-mannered way. I told her okay and told her she was dismissed and she left. I quickly ran to my closet and find a great shirt for me to wear in the test. After I got it on I ran downstairs to find my dad so I could find my affinity. We went outside and sat upon the carriage waiting inside the carriage for a few minutes after that we made haste to go to the test and 30 or more knights started to follow us to guard us. We got their fast and there was a big line up. I look around there was many Noble kids man or woman everyone was here. But everyone seemed to look at me maybe because my father was right beside me with 30+ knights guarding him? Minute by minute the line started to dissipate till I was up next. Then I heard a loud shout saying ¡°Arthur Krestel!¡± the lady in a black shirt said in a hurry then she repeated it again ¡°Arthur Krestel are you here?¡± I shouted back and said ¡°I¡¯m here!!¡± The lady looked at me for a second and said ¡°Oh!¡± There you are Arthur come with me the lady told me. ¡°Hi Arthur, my name is Lianne¡± the lady told me with a smile ¡°Ok Arthur are you ready to take the test?¡± She asked me I nodded in agreement and she suddenly shouted ¡°Great! ¡° ¡°Now all you need to do is touch that black ball in the middle of the tent and think about what element you want.¡± She told me So I did what she asked me to then the whole room glowed and many spectator saw this and in shock The ball said Arthur: affinity¡­ Todays chapter Sorry guys there won''t be any chapters today, It got to hectic today so yeah sorry. Arthur: Affinity Fire: [Medium] Wait what¡­ Almost everyone told themselves how did the ¡°Ball of Affinities¡± glow that much if he only has a medium affinity? There are 6 levels of affinity and they are Low, Medium, High, King, Emperor and God. King affinities are considered the absolute geniuses in Polerna because the Emperor affinity only a few people got and they were the Elemental knights the incarnate of the element itself. That¡¯s why God affinity was out of the question. While I was thinking what just happened and why the ball started to glow that much I heard a voice calling out and I search for the voice, and saw Lianne talking. I look at her with questioned eyes and right at this moment my parents came. I didn¡¯t notice but this happened in a 10 seconds interval it was very quick and very odd. My parents rushed to me and ask if I was fine. Right at this moment my parents saw my Affinity and got shocked because why would a Medium affinity make the Ball of Affinities glow this much? Lianne the Tester didn¡¯t have any answer. A few more seconds the other testers ran inside the tent to see what was happening. No one had any guesses why it suddenly glowed that much. But I knew the answer, I told myself before the glow blinded us for a second I caught a small glimpse in the ball it said ¡°Arthur: Affinity Fire: [God]¡± Then after a second it became medium. I didn¡¯t know what just happened. I found it weird I didn¡¯t tell anyone about this for now, I waited to see if it would ever become an Affinity [God] again but it never did. We left right away after the test and my parents questioned for a while then stop once they thought it was all an accident. Everyone that was present in the test knew it was an accident. The next morning I woke up early and tried to use magic now that I learned my affinity. I easily created a fire ball though it only lasted a few seconds. I continued making fire balls for a few more days till I can at least hold it for a minute. After I could hold it for more than a minute I tried making other kinds of spell but failed, couldn¡¯t even make the fire itself. 8 years has passed by (ok no more major time skips I swear) I am about start to go to school, the school where every status can apply to go to. I wanted to experience the commoner¡¯s life so I asked my father if I can apply as a commoner for the remainder of the school years. At first he didn¡¯t want to but after a few days of persuasion I got him to agree but with the condition of hidden body guards following me everywhere. My father gave me a monthly allowance of 200 gold which was a lot and I started to stay in a commoner residence in the school 200 gold is a large sum even for the High nobles because 1000 copper is 1 silver and 100 silver is 1 gold. After a few minutes past I found the room. The mighty room of 69! I told myself to amuse myself. I turned and opened the door and found a dark hair person staring at me. I suppose his my roommate I told myself. ¡°So you¡¯re my roommate right?¡± I said to the dark haired person ¡°Yep! My name is Randy!¡± the person stood up and shook my hand. Just as that second I saw his toned muscle he had brown skin and hazel eyes he was fairly good looking I told myself. Then I just notice and saw a there were three beds¡­ ¡°I¡¯m Arthur nice to meet you¡± I said enthusiastically then added ¡°So why is there three beds?¡± I asked ¡°Oh didn¡¯t know this was a three bedroom room? Well because both of us got here before the third guy¡± he told me. ¡°So what does you dad do?¡± he said and added ¡°You look pretty rich to me almost like those noble kids¡± ¡°Oh my father is uhh trader of some kind¡± I told him. I really couldn¡¯t tell him that I am the second prince so I just made this up. ¡°Oh! So you are rich!¡± he said loudly with a happy voice and added ¡°Finally someone can treat me and I can eat good food!¡± I surrendered and said ¡°fine, fine¡± and added ¡°I¡¯ll treat you after we meet are last roommate!¡± I told him Just at this moment the door opened again I saw a Handsome Blonde young man almost the same hair cut as my father. He had blue eyes and a smile in his face for some reason. ¡° Wait are you guys my roommates?¡± he smiled and said enthusiastically ¡°I¡¯m Kaileth call me Kail for short¡± he quickly added Right as I was going to reply to him Randy interrupted me and quickly said ¡°I¡¯m Randy and this is Arthur and quick Arthur said he is going to treat us¡± he said in a fast voice ¡°REALLY?!¡± Kail said in a loud voice with a hint of excitement ¡°Fine let¡¯s go eat!¡± I said with a smile on my face
