 prologue the beginning

    in the small mountain village where drair stormblessed lives it has been 200 years since the plague appeared and killed off half of the world populations. the doctors couldn''t find a cure for it they didn''t know anything about nor could they find anything about. the plague was a big mystery wrapped full of surprises. they didn''t realize it at first what the effects of the plague to those who didn''t die and the effects on the animals. on the humans that didn''t it had the effect of strengthening them somewhat. and the effects were unforeseeable it caused a large chunk of the animal population to evolve and become intelligent bloodthirsty creatures.


    Although not all them were bloodthirsty but that was a very small portion of them. Not enough to make a difference. Our bullets were nearly ineffective against these mutated creatures these monstrosities of nature. They ripped through everything killing man after man they were brutal and quick in their attacks we were defenseless against these type of attacks. and quickly  the world fell into chaos as the plague kept killing people and mutating more monsters that joined their brethren to slaughter mankind and drive them the the brink of extinction.  But mankind would never give up. They swore they would survive so that their children may live. So mankind fought back against the beasts. They fought with every ounce of strength they had. They created new weapons to fight the growing populations of beasts.

    They managed to drive the animals back for a couple of years and those were filled with peaceful but hard times as humanity tried to recover and rebuild but the animals came back to strike once more. Humanity wasn¡¯t prepared for this sudden attack they spent all of their resources driving back in the first place. So the few people that were left fled to the hidden areas of the world to survive. It is in one of these hidden sanctuaries that drair stormblessed was born. But sadly when he was only 4 his village was attacked by fierce beasts that slaughtered the entire village. But lucky for him his parents hid him in the basement of their house. After the animals he crawled out to see the entire village dead and most of it burned into ashes. Then as he was crawling back into his family¡¯s house to escape the gruesome scene in front of him a board from the ceiling fell and hit him knocking him out and trapping under it. it was then that stormblessed arrived. he was passing by on his way back to his mountain village.  as soon as he saw the destruction he immediately started searching for survivors. he only found one it was a little kid. he decided to then take care of that little boy he named him drair stormblessed.

 chapter 2

    Chapter 1


    Drair Stormblessed has been living in the mountain village of marbos since uncle stormblessed adopted him since his village was destroyed and everyone was killed. he has been living in marbos for 8 years. i have been working with my uncle learning the basics of carpentry, smithing, sewing, leather work, construction and cooking while watching and helping him with his many jobs. he tells me these are all life skills that are essential to make a living in this world. my goal in life is to get stronger so that i can make my uncle proud. i start everyday with helping him go out through the village fixing whatever needs to be fixed. if anyone roof leaks or one their chair breaks he is there to fix it. he also says to ro trust your instincts.


    I woke up at 7:00 like I do every morning. but something just didn''t feel right in the house there was something off. it wasn''t a smell  or anything like that it was just a feeling that something was wrong and something bad was going to happen. as I was running through the house to find my uncle because if this bad feeling. I heard a roaring noise outside and people screaming. then the smell of fire and burning flesh entered my noise. when i ran outside i was presented with a site that will haunt me. i saw most of the houses in the village burning with a dark black flame. there were people running down the street trying to flee but the black fire that was alive as it followed them. It would jump off the houses and hive chase as if the flames were drifting in the wind they would pursue. when the flames caught up to someone it would engulf their entire body turning everything to ash. whenever one of the flames consumed someone it would grow bigger and move faster engulfing more and more people as it traveled through the village.


    Luckily there was none of the black flames near me. when i looked down the street towards the source of the black flames. what i saw was a giant dark black dragon with deep glowing red eyes completely cover in black flames that were crawling and moving around the dragons body like living creatures. it was spewing black flames everywhere and eating people left and right as they tried to escape with their lives intact. It was then that i  noticed my uncle was running towards from the opposite direction that the dragon with a giant black bag on his shoulder. when he finally reached my side he was frantic. He was yelling at me telling me to grab the black bag and run. He keep saying run drair run keep running and never look back . (Note: thats a forrest gump reference) He then also said drair i will find again when the time is right.

    so i started running, i ran as fast as i can. when i finally reached the edge of the village i turned back to look one more time. It was then that I saw my uncle stormblessed fighting the black flamed dragon. he was dodging all of the black flames that were chasing him as he jumped around the dragon stabbing it with his his sword whenever he had an opening to attack. He attacked with lightning speed as he stabbed all of the vital areas he could. It was then as i was turning around to continue running i  saw one the black flames sneak behind at jump at him. He wasn''t fast enough to dodge the sneak attack. The flame then engulfed his back when the one flame hit 5 other flames attacked just after that. he was only able to deflect one the flames the others completely engulfed him. even when he was covered in the flames he still fought the dragon. after another second or so he wasn''t able to resist the flames that were running on him and he was burnt to crisp. When he was completely burned the black flames then jumped off and went to look for a new target. i then just started running again I ran as fast as my legs could carry i didn''t stop until i had collapsed from exhaustion.
