《How to:Become an Evil Overlord》 Step one:Finding a Good Location Authors note: so, for this one i''m going to do something a little different. i''m going to be writing this from a girls perspective. and i know that without help from the divines, this will end up terribly wrong. but at least i''ll have fun doing it. :) Step one the caravan made its way down the poorly paved road, pausing every now and then to fix a saddle, or give the oxen something to drink, or to check that all the passengers and cargo were still there. while this was all perfectly normal, what wasn''t normal was the bandit that was currently trying to rob them. "hand over yer valuables!" "um, miss," said the caravan leader. "this is kinda far away from the nearby village, and i don''t think your parents would appreciate you playing bandit all the way out here." the thirteen year old girl looked stumped by this turn of events, but didn''t let that deter her. "i said hand em over, ye scallywags. if ye don''t, i''ll be forced to take the booty off o'' yer dead corpses." the caravan leader looked to his four caravan guards like ''can you believe this?'' and said, "miss, may i ask you to move out of the way, your blocking my caravan." "thats the point, ye dumb bastard. can''t you tell i''m a pirate when ya look at me? jeez, landlubbers these days, am i right?" she asked of no one in particular. "now, i don''t think that you should be going around telling people that their bastards, and if you continue to impede my caravan, i will pick you up and deliver you to the village, and make sure your parents punish you." the girl didn''t look scared by his threat, and instead said, "if you cant understand ''hand over ye valuables'', then you even worse off then i thought you were. if you want, i can lead you to the village so you don''t get lost, but only after you give me everythin ya got." "thats it." as the caravan leader lost his temper, and decided to give her a good beating before delivering her to her parents, his buddy held him back. "come on, jeff. let it go. she''s just a kid." he said reasonably. "what, you scared ye bastard?" he said not another word, but simply got off his horse and approached her. "heh, another challenger approaches . tell me your name, ye bastard." "i don''t see any point in telling a brat like you my name, so be a good girl and take your punishment." he said while walking toward her, trying to be as intimidating as possible. "if that be the case, then i''ll go ahead and tell ye mine. i be Cellex, captain of the not-yet-bought ship the skinny weasel. prepare to have yer booty taken from ye!" ''oh my, that came out wrong. now it sounds like i''m going to rape him. oh well, alls fair in war and murder.'' "get over here you little brat! i''ll give you a spanking you''ll never forget!" "no, i''d rather not." her accent disappeared. and she ran forward too fast for the mens eyes to follow, and she shot her hand forward, ripping his heart out of his chest, and crushing it in her grip. she took her arm out of his chest, and proceded to murder the rest of the men on horseback in a variety of imaginative ways. she ripped ones tongue out and made a noose with it, then she ripped the seconds eyes out and shoved them down his throat. after that, the third had his head kicked off with a revers spinning back kick, and the third had his arm torn off and beaten to death with it. as you can probably tell, Cellex wasn''t your average teenage girl. just one who like to pretend to be a pirate. --- after looting the guards booty, (uh, that sounded so wrong, why do pirates say those kind of things?) she decided to check over it in a hidden tree fort that she had made herself. "lets see, five good quality shortswords, two bows, a mace, a warhammer and a morning star." other than that all the other weapons consisted of were several daggers and knives that the caravan used for eating. "some flour, a good amount of corn, four oxen, five horses, enough feed for several days, and several other odds and ends." she was nodding in satisfaction over her haul, and she next counted the coins that she had found amongst the caravan. it consisted of twenty-seven or so gold coins, enough silver to make about eight more gold coins, and enough copper to value up to two. not bad, if i may say so myself." however, there was something that was missing. she couldn''t tell what it was, but she decided that being a pirate bandit (no matter how cool that was) just simply wasn''t cutting it. with a snap of her finger, she realized what it was that she was missing. "i''m not famous! what do i do to be famous?" she was wondering this, since the guards hadn''t known who she was, it had made them resist her, and they wouldn''t giver her their booty. (uh, i really need to stop using that word.) but how? how could i make sure that every one would know my name far and wide? become a necromancer? that sounded cool, but she wasn''t a necrophiliac, so that was out. Authors note: just so you know, Cellex doesn''t know what a necrophiliac is, she just doesn''t like the sound of it, and i''m going to be making jokes about this at a later date, so don''t set your pants on fire. become a paladin? that was alright sounding, but she got the feeling that the paladins code would have something to say about stealing, so that was out. she thought of others, but none of them really made her feel like someone would tremble in fear at, ''demon lord Cellex'' since she was thirteen, and quite short for her age. and so, she finally came across something that tickled her fancy. "thats it! Overlord Cellex! he he, they will tremble in fear!" she gave her speech while raising her fist triumphantly, but slightly ruined it by falling out of her tree fort and getting tangled in the roots. The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation. and so, Cellex started preparations for her ascendence into overlord-hood, or whatever it was called. she would need minions, a territory to rule over, vassals to command, and a hero to come and valiantly face her, then fail miserably. but before all of that, she would need a good location for here dungeon, or her base. "where am i going to find a good base?" the most logical way to get one (logical to her, at least) is to take it from an already existing overlord. if she could find one with a sufficiently rad base, then she could take it over and begin her ascendence, or whatever. and so, she took the money, a sword, the Morningstar and one of the bows, got on one of the horses, and left the rest of the loot for an extremely lucky hunter to find. --- two weeks of riding all over the country side, getting my horse stolen, twice, getting cheated in a game of dice, killing one or two, maybe five dozen people, and keeping an ear out for any rumors, i finally feel like i found the perfect place. it''s entrance needed some sprucing up, some cloth, some ribbons, and human skulls, and it would be perfect. the only problem with the dungeon was that apparently an ogre or something was already living here, but i would make sure he either joined me and became my minion, or died. when you entered, you came into a chamber about sixty feet by forty feet, and within were about forty goblins. when they saw me, they were so shocked it was almost comical. what they heard next made them think that they had all had a bit too much alcohol. "alright minions, get to work. i want those cobwebs in the corner swept up, i want your fires to be in neat lines, and for you to clean your weapons, and i would like to introduce myself to you." "My name is Cellex, and i am the new evil Overlord." when they didn''t move, she sighed and decided that even if they had joined her, she would have had to make them undergo serious rehabilitation, and she would never be sure if they were loyal to her or the ogre. as her first rule to herself when she decided to become an overlord, she had decided that she would only accept undying loyalty. nothing less. she stepped up to the first goblin and made him even shorter than he already was by taking his head off. i divided one into two pieces, removed one of their jaws, and basically had a great time. at one point, her sword broke and she ripped a goblins stomach open, then used its intestines to swing it around, knocking over many other goblins. the she took out her morning star, and repeated the process of swinging at anything that got i her way, but this time instead of an unfortunate goblin on the end, she had a spiked metal ball. needless to say, it was much more effective. but not nearly as fun. after they were all nearly dead, the ogre emerged from the room in the back. he was well over two meters tall, and had horns like a bull, with a rather cow-like look on his face. i finished off the last of the goblins, and took out my bow, reaching into my quiver and pulling my special arrow out. "eat this, and die." i said in my deepest voice, trying to sound like an over dramatic hero, and i think i did a pretty good job. the ogre looked even more confused, but i payed him no mind. haters gonna hate. shoot them in the face. thats how i solved most of my problems. i released my arrow, and it sailed threw the air, and missed completely. for a second, we just looked at the arrow, then the ogre started laughing and charged toward me. "*sigh* i never did have much skill with ranged weapons." i then ran forward as well, and when we were three feet away, i jumped to make up for being short.(not one word. i''m happy with my hight, but if any of you make fun of it, i will treat you like a hater. so suck it.) he tilted his head forward, trying to impale me with his horns, and i did the same. just without the horns. what happened next was completely expected. i put my hands forward and snapped off his horns, then smashed the top of my head into his face. "ahhh1" he reeled back in pain, holding his face, which was half caved in. "what did you do to me?" he yelled. "what do you mean, i think i made an improvement to your face. now i don''t have to look at half of it, which means i made you twice as pretty. you should thank me." "you, you bitch! i''ll rip your guts out and swing you around like a toy!" "been there, done that. now hurry up and die, i have an overlordship that needs claiming." and saying so, i ran forward and kicked him so hard in the groin he lifted a couple feet into the air, and the cracking noise, plus the look on his face told me he was a male ogre, and his expression was priceless. when he came down, blood started oozing out from under his loincloth, and he made very un-manly noises in a high pitched voice, while rolling around. "now you now what it feels like to be a girl, at least, i think thats how it works." Authors note: Cellex hasn''t hit puberty yet. then i stepped on his head, and shook as much of his brain off of my shoes as i could. "well, looks like i''ve found my new home! it shall be called Fortress Celle! i raised my fist triumphantly, while being careful not to fall over again, as the floor was covered in gore, and i didn''t want to get myself more dirty than i already was. "from now on, i, Cellex, shall hereby be known as Overlord Cellex! hurrah!" the end of step one. Authors note: before all the females of the world descend upon me and rip me limb from limb, this is a completely humorous based story. please don''t kill me. Step two:Obtaining Minions Step two in the kingdom of Alfrega, to the west of the town of senton, through the forest of galsh, and in the mountain of gilmore, the was a cave. and inside of that cave, was a thirteen year-old girl drinking something from a horned skull. "i''m so bored. what is there to do around here?" Cellex was peeved. not a single hero had shown up to challenge her, and the cave had gradually grown boring. all there was to it was the entrance room, and i little private room that was only ten feet by ten feet, and only eight tall. "is it because they''re scared? no, i haven''t done anything big enough for heros to be afraid of me." "is it because they don''t know how to find me? that could be it, but by now i should have at least seen one." i thought for a bit, and i think that i came to the right conclusion. "they don''t see me as an overlord! i see, after all, the only thing that i did was kill a cave full of goblins. they might even think that i''m an adventurer!" she shivered at this, and tried to shake the horrible thought out of her head. "so, how do i make them see me as an evil overlord?" "right! i need minions! you can''t be an overlord without minions. i can''t believe that i forgot that crucial detail." she smacked herself in the face, which was quite something, as her own strength made her fly a couple feet before crashing into a wall. however, she jumped up out of the dust cloud, not even a bruise on her face. and she set out to get herself some minions. --- walking through the forest was boring too. she couldn''t believe that adventurers could do this kind of thing for hours on end. she saw a couple wolfs, some slimes, and a couple bats, but they were smart enough to steer clear. seeing as she was bored, when sounds of celebration were heard she naturally wanted in on it. when she saw who was celebrating, she felt a small grin begin on her face. it was goblins. thirty-six, to be exact. they were dancing around the fire, and it looked a little strange, as it was the middle of the afternoon. but she didn''t let that deter her, instead she made her way over to them. when she was seen, the goblin who noticed her quickly motioned to his companions, when they had gathered around their leader, a hobgoblin with an overbite and a goatee, which did not look good on him, they all faced the lone girl. "what are you doing out here, little girl?" she frowned, but that only made her look cuter. "my name is Cellex, the overlord who resides in the cave to the west. and you will address me with respect, assuming you want to keep you head where it is." for a moment, they didn''t know what to think. the words she said certainly sounded true, but with her cute face and childlike voice, they just couldn''t take her seriously. the hobgoblin chuckled, and said, "that is quite funny, little girl. tell me, do your parents know your out here?" he was licking his lips while doing this, and made him look even uglier. "no. my parents are both in hell. i''ve come to challenge you to a duel. if i win, all of you," and here she gestured to all of the gathered goblins, "will become my minions, and swear undying loyalty to me." "he he, sure, why not, little girl, but if i win, you will become a slave." the hobgoblin said while rubbing his hands together. ''after all, even if i lose which would be impossible, we can just take her as a slave anyway.'' "deal. now, before we start, i want each of you goblins to put a drop of blood in this." she said, holding out her horned skull. they looked confused, but did as she asked. when all thirty-five of the regular goblins had come forward and given a drop of blood, she stopped the hobgoblin from putting a drop of his blood in. "didn''t you say that we all had to put a drop of blood into this?" "what i meant was that all those who would be alive after the dual." all of a sudden, the hobgoblin felt a chill on his spine. she pricked her finger and drew a pentagram on the forehead of the skull with her blood and started chanting over it, and it slowly turned completely red, draining the blood into the bone itself, though the pentagram remained, just as a deeper shad of red. If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. "there. now, if i win you will all be bound to this skull, and to it''s creator, me." their eyes all slowly widened in horror. "but, if mister hobgoblin here kills me this skull will disintegrate and it will be like it had never been in the first place." "now, lets get to it, shall we?" she said with a childlike smile full of innocence and kindness. "o-okay." was all the hobgoblin could manage to choke out. she said no more, simply walking up to him and kicking his knee. it snapped like a twig, and he fell over with a scream. i put my foot over his head, and asked him, "any last requests?" "well, i-" then she crushed his skull with her foot. "too slow." then she turned to her new minions, and smiled like she had just been given a bag full of toys. "i promise to be a really good evil overlord, and i hope we can be friends!" "w-what are you? where did you get that strength from?" asked one of the goblins who was quicker than the others. "well, i guess it''s in my genes, after all, i am one-fourth giant." they looked at the extremely short girl, and one of the stupider ones open his mouth, "th-" "if you make one comment about my height, i will rip your head off and shove it so far up your ass it will be like your head had never moved, and the only thing that will remain of my punishment is the extreme anal trauma, and your neck bleeding. "okay." --- when she brought her new minions back to her cave, she immediately set them to work, cleaning the previous occupants remains off of the floor, and throwing it outside. they looked slightly horrified when they first saw the remains of the other members of their race, but they quickly got over it. goblins aren''t very sympathetic creatures. once the interior was cleared out and the room at the back was cleared of the ogres belongings, she sent the goblins to go out and gather materials for making beds and cooking fires. when they had all returned and finished with their projects, she called them all forward and explained the magic she had used on their blood. it was a complex series of spells that simultaneously bound them to the skull and the owner of the blood that the pentagram was drawn with. that being said, she then proceeded to kill all of them. in twelve hours, they all woke up within seconds of each other. "ah, your up! welcome back to the world of the living." "wait, so your telling us that you actually killed all of us and that it wasn''t just a nightmare?" "yep. your all demon souls now. before you died, if i had died you would all have been set free. but, now that you have died and been revived with demon magic,if i die you will all too. since you were bound to me via this skull, you are now unable to stay dead for more than twelve hours.if i die, the bond will break, and you will all be free to return to hell, since you can never go to heaven no that you are demon souls. not that you would have ever gone to heaven, but this removes all doubt. now you can be dispensable fodder to test the hero''s might, and when the nest hero comes you can do the same thing again, isn''t that great!" she looked around, showing them all her best smile. they said nothing. she sent five of them to go out and scout around for food, and the other thirty got to starting fires, setting up bedding, and all the other stuff. when one came back screaming, "adventurers! adventurers!" she got quite exited. end of step two. Authors note: i added the whole demon magic cause i didn''t want to have to explain how she replaced her minions every time they died. and it''s foreshadowing. anyway, hope you liked it! :) Step Three: Sending a Message Authors note: Its the weekend! hurrah! more writing for everybody! i''ll be writing another chapter of The Feline Faction, and probably start another fiction. Step Three her mother had always taught her stuff. somethings came in handy really early in life, and some she hadn''t found any use for yet. nine years ago was the earliest she could remember. "okay honey, all you have to do is put your left hand here, you right hand here, and tilt your head, jut this out a little more, and, there! your a natural, my daughter." "he he, of course i am! but, i''ll never be as good as you." "nonsense! i tell you, in ten years you''ll be twice as good as me! just you wait." "okay, but when is dad going to teach me stuff?" at that point in time, she remembered her dad walking in, a thoughtful look on his face. he was well over two meters tall,, and his shoulders were broad enough that he had to turn sideways to get through most doors. he had muscles like a body builder, but they didn''t look out of place. for him, his natural state seemed to be a walking fortress, and she had never seen him trip, or lose his balance, which only led credence to her thoughts. "hey, dear, i was thin- OH MY UNDEAD GOD, WHAT THE F*** ARE YOU TEACHING OUR DAUGHTER?!" "now now dear, you shouldn''t yell in front of her. she has a very delicate mind, and she needs you to be strong for her, not a yelling lunatic." he took a moment, trying to calm himself, and tried again. "sandra, what in the devils name are you teaching to our four year old daughter. depending on your answer, i may be forced to lock you in a tower until such a time as you promise not to do it again." "oh, come on! i was only teaching her how to seduce, it''s not like i did anything bad! a girl needs to now these kinds of things." "YOUR TEACHING A FOUR YEAR OLD HOW TO SEDUCE? WHERE THE HELL DID YOU LEARN YOUR PARENTING FROM?! "from my patents." "oh. i guess that makes sense. but why do you think our daughter needs the same kind?" "well, she''s already showing signs of her giant strength, and even though she''s short she might even be stronger than me. and thats at four years! imagine what she would be like in ten! in fifteen! i can''t afford to waste time. i want the best for my daughter, and i''m going to teach her everything she has to know so that she can do anything she wants!" "*sigh* i guess that means i can''t lock you in the tower." "even if you did, a brave hero would undoubtedly come and rescue me, and we would fall in love." "humph. if any hero fall for you, it won''t be of any choice of his own. hell, i don''t even know why i fell for you." "it''s because your crazy. no regular person would ever love a succubus of their own free will. but you did. and i did the same." at this point they started making strange noises and quickly moved out of the room, and locked the door. "i wonder if the things mommy taught me will work on daddy? after all, she said that i should do it if i want a guy to like me." the next memory i could remember, is when i was nine. "okay, you take the rats blood and you put it in this skull." she had continued teaching me all kinds of things throughout my childhood, but today was different. "then, you take a drop of your own blood and you draw this picture on the front, like this." "mommy, why do i use my own blood?" "if you use the rats own blood, then when it dies the skull will shatter, and if you bind any other rats to it then when those come back to life they will be a mindless puppet whose only purpose is to guard the skull, since if you want to bind anything to you and still have it retain it''s soul, you need to be immensely stronger than it. think of it like this. power is a weight, the more powerful the soul, the harder it is to bring them back from the afterlife. that is why i can''t just use this on your father to forever bind him to me. they say that power attracts power, and in this case it''s more like, ''power drags a much weaker power from hell.'' if you use it on something that isn''t at least one-two hundred times as weak as you, only the body will come back, and while this is okay, it will be much weaker than if you simply used necromancy on it. "now, this next part is crucial. if blood is taken from someone, then they will become mindless puppets that will listen to anything you say. it will be as if they are as strong as you or stronger, and since the soul didn''t consent to come back from hell, only the body will be bound to you. if the blood is freely given, then they will retain intelligence, and they will only be encouraged to listen to what you say, not forced." "mommy, why do i need to learn how to bind souls to me?" "the adventurers have been getting stronger as of late, and the time may come when you will need to defend yourself when me or dad can''t. when this happens, you can bind others to you and they will help you. i also want you to practice your fire magic. so-" my dad rushed up the stairs, and i had never seen him so out of breath before. "sandra, they''re here. take her to the nearest town and keep her safe." "but, dear, if i help we can-" "they''re too powerful. i will buy enough time for you to erase your existence from this place, and get out of here." The author''s tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. mommy was crying. "b-but you can''t lose, your more powerful than me!" he smiled that smile that i had only seen once before, that made me think that dad wanted to cry too. "power isn''t every thing. i will be defeated. so take our daughter and go! she is the only thing in this world as important to me as you." she looked madder than i had ever seen, and i wouldn''t be surprised if dad melted just from that look. "you bastard... you wonderful bastard... fine! but you better give them hell, or i will personally drag you back from there to give you a beating!" "i will do that." then he turned to me, and told me the last words that i would ever hear from him. "Cellex, i have never done what a father should have done, and been there for you whenever you needed it, but you have loved me just the same. stay safe, find yourself something that you love, and always, always, remember, that there is hope for every person. no one is bad simply because of the body they were born with. i don''t need to tell you to make me proud. you have made me the most prideful father this world has ever known. now go!" he said as he shoved us in the direction of the window, and my mother unfurled bat wings, and flew off. she never looked back at the fortress that was shaking from magic spells and explosions. but she cried all the same. a couple weeks later, mother went off to see if she could learn anything, and she never returned. in the main room of the inn we were staying at, i heard about the lord and his nights finding a succubus in a tavern, and killing her. one of the witnesses say that he could vaguely remember her from somewhere, and told the lord to go look for a short girl. after hearing this, i left. and did as my father told me, and tried to find something that i loved. i tried not to hate all adventurers and people, just because their kind had killed my parents and taken everything from me, but i''m afraid that i sometimes lost my temper, and lashed out. the first time i killed someone was when i was ten. he was making fun of giants by dancing around with a stupid look on his face, trying to smash the furniture. i shoved pieces of furniture into every inch of his body i could see, and after ward there was nothing left but chunks of something on all of the furniture. i made a promise with myself. i would never hate a human for being human. but being an adventurer was a job, something you chose. i would massacre them, and i would love doing it. the only problem was that adventurers only came after monsters, and me, being a short and very cute looking young girl, didn''t quite strike them as monstrous. so, i tried one thing after another, robbery, banditry, and all kinds of things. and now, i had finally found something that would make adventurers come to me. i smiled, not that sad smile, not that happy smile, but a bloodthirsty one. it was at this point that the goblin who had delivered the news of adventurers coming wet himself. "well, why don''t we greet them?" i came out of the cave, and there was two adventurers. an ugly looking old archer, and a priestly woman. when they saw me surrounded by goblins, they immediately tried to call out to me. "little girl! are those goblins keeping you hostage?" "no. i am the overlord Cellex. and your life''s are forfeit." i walked up to the women, and bitch slapped her, but i used too much strength, and her head flew off. i grunted in anger. i had wanted to have more fun killing her. i then turned to the man, and decided something. if i just killed all the adventurers who came, i would never get the really strong ones. so, i would let him live. but only barely. "hello there mister, how are you?" i said in my cutest voice, my clothing slowly going red from the woman''s neck blood. "wh-what are you?" he looked very afraid. "your worst nightmare." i said with a cute and innocent smile. then i ripped his arms off, and used fire magic to cauterize the wounds, so he didn''t bleed to death. "now, what should i do with you?" Authors note: those who have a weak stomach should not read the next paragraph. i was feeling like i needed to up the gore, but i think that this was a few hundred notches too much. i dropped one arm, and ripped the other one into small pieces, then i ordered the goblins to hold him down, and i fed the pieces to him. at first he resisted, but when i stepped on one of the things in his pants, and threatened to do so again, he cried pathetically while chewing. once he had eaten the whole thing, throwing up after every bite, i thought about what to do next. i could feed him the other arm, but that was getting old. so, i turned him around and shoved the other arm as far up his anus as i could, then i used fire magic to fuse the skin of his ass to the arm, so that where the arm stopped his buttocks began. then i put him on his horse and wrote out a quick message with the woman''s blood on the side of it, and sent him back to the village. Authors note: okay, it''s safe to read now. she smiled, and said words that made a couple of the other goblins wet themselves. "now i will get the chance to do the same to as many adventurers as i want." end of step three. Inturlude Interlude in the city of senton, two adventurers were waking up. "*yawn* why don''t we go back to sleep?" said sialas "because, we have to-" he was groggy, and had only now noticed the presence of the attractive female adventurer, when her barely clothed presence had awoken him. "WHAT THE F*** ARE YOU DOING IN MY ROOM?!" she just smiled, not caring to react to his alarm at all. "mine was cold, so i decided to sleep with you." she said this as if it made all the sense in the world, which made me want to punch myself. "i get that, but why are you not in your nightgown, and- WHERE THE HELL DID YOU PUT MY CLOTHES, YOU SHE-DEVIL!" "they were getting in the way, and i didn''t want to wake, you, so i threw them out the window." i looked at her with an unbelieving face, then looked out the window, and sure enough, there were my boots, trousers and shirt, all on the street. "sialas..." "Elon!" she shouted, giving me a flying hug, which made me blush even further. you probably don''t know this, but she was a demi-human, of the cat variety, and had little care for the concept of ''privacy'' and this was a regular occurrence even though i personally wish it wasn''t. after sorting out the whole issue, (running down there and getting my clothes, then fetching some for Sialas from her room,) we went out to find some breakfast. on our way, however, we saw something strange. an adventurer was sitting, actually tied, to his saddle, and was crying. the second thing you noticed about him was that he had no arms, tho the stumps were his arms ended were charred, and looked to have been done via fire magic. Enjoying the story? Show your support by reading it on the official site. "what happened to him?" i wondered out loud. we went over to listen to his story, and what we heard chilled our bones. but it made the adventurer in me scream out adventure. "t-the demon in the cave did this! it killed salene with a single blow, then it ripped my arms off and fed one to me!" i asked him, "what did it do with the other arm?" thinking that a demon that powerful probably ate human flesh. at this, he turned very red, and looked down to his butt, then said. "i''d rather not say." when i saw this, i felt horrified. i could guess what this poor, poor man had been through, and i did not envy him in the slightest. "what form did it take?" thinking that such a sadistic monster had to be many meters tall, and probably have fangs, or claws, or gills, or something else that screamed danger. "it wasn''t what you think." at this he looked even more disturbed. "it took the form of a little girl, and before we knew it was a monster, it had already killed salene. someone has to stop it!" he said in a desperate voice. i thought for a while, but smiled. "i will stop this monster. did it tell you it''s name?" he looked afraid, but said, "yes. it was Cellex. Cellex the overlord" end of Inturlude Authors note: so i just wanted to get this out of the way, and what better way than through an interlude? i will probably write more tomorrow, but no promises. also, i can''t stop laughing about what i wrote Cellex did with the male adventurers second arm. :) Step Four: Planting a Seed Step four watching the goblins fight was amusing. they always seemed to be a little hesitant to kill each other, but after showing them first hand that killing each other was in their best interest, they quickly got over it. i was watching a two on one fight, with the one being trained to dodge and avoid killing blows, and the two learning teamwork. the one eventually didn''t dodge fast enough, and his left arm broke. seeing this, the other of the two ran in and skewered the one with his dagger. ''i''ll have to get them some better equipment, or they will never improve.'' the hunting party returned, bringing with them all the animals they could hunt. when i walked over to them, i casually knocked the head off of the goblin who tried to get away with stealing. i had noticed that those who thought they were sneaky had tried to get away, but i had used these chances as an exercise. i put all the thirty four other goblins out to hunt him, and the one who brought him back didn''t have to participate in the gauntlet. it was savage, the way i trained them, but hat was okay. they would thank me when they were strong enough to defend themselves. one of my scout goblins ran up to me, using the usual greeting. "hail overlord Cellex! i have spotted a group of six adventurers gathering near the tree line, preparing their equipment, and readying their horses. what would you have us do?" "kill them." he looked kind of disturbed, since i had said this like i would say good morning. "if any goblin kills two of the adventurers, i would like to meet him. if not, then i would like to see all of the goblins who kill one. understood?" "understood, overlord cellex! your orders will be carried out immediately!" "see to it." i hadn''t confronted the next couple of groups, instead sending out my minions to deal with them. torturing the weak just wasn''t fun. it didn''t give you that same sense of victory when you made them cry for their mother, or when they begged you to give them death. cowards and weaklings just weren''t fun at all. my forces were gathered, minus the one who got skewered and the one who had lost his head. they set out, after hearing the rundown from the scout goblin. when they left, i brought out the skull, and looked through the eyes of the goblins. "man, that is one scary girl, right?" "yeah, i swear, we should never have accepted her deal." "but, we can''t die unless she does, right? so, that means that if we serve her, we can get stronger, and we won''t have to worry about dying. thats good, right?" "i guess your right. if we do what she says, eventually we can be the most powerful goblins in the world. and not to mention all the loot we get from these adventurers. and all of us are alive afterward to enjoy it." "so, it''s agreed that we''ll follow her, and do as she says?" "agreed." "agreed." the sound of agreement and confirmation echoed through the goblins ears, and for some reason he got the feeling cellex was smiling. and that creeped him out. --- they had approached the camp silently, the adventurers were still preparing, and each of the goblins shared a round of wolfish grinning. "ahhhhh!" war cries sounded from the throats of the goblins, and they descended upon the adventurers. they immediately took out their weapons, and turned to face the threat. one was too slow, and was tackled by three goblins, slashing and hacking at him. the second to go down was the elderly wizard, even though he was quite spry for his age, his spells took time to chant and aim, and he didn''t get the chance to do so. his head caved in from a club, ending his life. the other four were two warriors, a rogue, and an archer. the archer was quickly killed, and the rogue followed soon after. the two warriors worked in tandem, killing four goblins so far, neatly decapitating them, or cutting whole limbs off. one of the sneakier goblins came up behind them, and using his rusted dagger, slashed their throats. one after another. afterward, the blood splattered goblins celebrated their victory by looting every thing the adventurers had. not one of them took anything. cellex had a way of knowing if their was something missing from the loot pile. she was fair, and distributed the loot according to the skill shown over the days leading up to the raids. after securing everything, they brought back all of it, and were congratulated. afterward, they had a tournament, and the goblin to win it was the sneaky goblin who killed both warriors. afterward, he was invited by cellex to her private quarters, a little bit scared even though he knew he had done nothing wrong. "i hear you killed two adventurers. what is your name?" he looked surprised to be asked this, and after nervously looking around at the inside of her room in the cave, said. "my name is gostlin. why do you want to know?" she smiled that smile that the goblins had named the blood smile, and said. "private lessons." and he felt as though all the blood had drained out of his body, and within a few minutes, that was what literally happened. he huffed, not believing what was happening. apparently, she could bring back a particular minion within an hour if she concentrated on that individual, and that was why she needed his name. "what, you can''t be tired already. you''ve only died like fifteen times." he looked at her with horror. ''fifteen times? seriously?'' "okay. i''ll make a deal with you. if you can land a scratch on me, we can be done. for today." Enjoying the story? "good! okay, you did it. go to sleep, i''ll wake you in a couple hours when the rest of the minions resurrect. "as you command, overlord cellex." before he left, cellex gave him something. "oh, before you leave, make sure to eat this." after leaving, a little confused, she turned toward her desk, or what she counted as a desk, and started practicing her reflection magic. more advanced forms allowed one to enter and exit reflections, but for now looking through them would be enough. while the goblin scouts had been out, she had told them to put reflective pieces of metal around the forest, and having marked them, she could find them quite easily through her similarly marked mirror. their was a duo of adventurers, one a girl and the other a boy, and they looked strong. she started smiling the blood smile, and the goblins turned over in their graves. --- walking through the forest at night was strange, as their should have been more noise. it seemed that this new overlord was already affecting the environment. it needed to be dealt with, and quickly. sialas was roaming around, exploring the forest, and reminding him of the cat part of her. she didn''t have the tail or the ears that most demi-humans possessed, but had all of the mannerisms. after walking through the forbidding trees for a while, they came across the scattered remains of the previous adventurer group. they had been torn apart, and brutally. the clearing they were in was oval in shape, and we entered from the left side, if the previous adventurers remains was the bottom of the clearing. suddenly, a voice rang out. "well well well, what do we have here?" a little girl had come strolling from the forest, and she was swinging something in her left hand. my first instinct was to find out if she was okay, but i restrained myself. her first victim had told me she took the form of a little girl. i drew my sword, and asked in as threatening a voice as i could manage while looking at her ridiculously cute face, "are you the overlord, cellex?" "why, yes! i''m so glad that my friend was able to tell you! did you also get my message?" she was talking about the short message written in blood on the side of the horse, which insulted every adventurers mothers, fathers, offspring, and basically everything about them. that was one of the reasons there were so many groups heading out, even though they kept getting killed, they felt they had to punish the person who insulted them. bunch of fools. "i did, and i respect your opinion, but when you go around ripping peoples arms off, i have to draw the line." her eyes lit up. "did he tell you what i did with the second arm?" i paused for a second. "i could infer. and i think you should be ashamed of yourself." i had bought enough time stalling for sialas to get behind her, since she was so distracted talking to me. "your mine-" cellex grabbed sialas''s arm without looking, and said. "but i''m not. in fact, i think i''ll do the same again. at least, to bastards like you adventurers." and saying so, she slammed sialas into the ground, as though she weighed no more than a feather. i rushed forward, calling her name, but cellex threw her into the tree''s, and when i arrive she easily dodged my swing, coming up behind me. whispering in my ear, "lets have some fun, he he." i turned around and brought my shield up to defend, but she wasn''t there. "oh, that was rude. someone should teach you some manners." and i suddenly felt a breeze. on my ribs. "AHHHHHHH!" she broke my leg, and as i fell, she started snapping my fingers. one-by-one. *snap* "do you know," snap "why i hate adventurers," snap "so much?" i could only scream in pain. "its because," snap "they took away," snap "the only things i cared about." she switched to my other hand, and said. "do you want your mother?" snap snap, "do you want daddy to come and save you?" snap snap, "cause mine can''t." snap. she started ripping the skin off of my hand, and mixing in wood chips from the ground. she kept on hurting me until a little light seemed to shine through the trees. i finally had the strength to talk, and i asked a question. "why do you hate humans so much?" he asked with a pleading look in his eyes, and said, "if you hate humans, you don''t have to hurt sialas. she''s a demi-human, so she didn''t do anything to you. please, let her go." i looked at this adventurer, and replied. "i don''t hate humans. people can''t choose what they are born as, but people like me who were born with strength can punish bastards like you who go into adventuring. but, i will listen to your request. only come back when you''re currupted. until then, remember me." then i bit into his chest, and when i had revealed his heart, i left a curse. after, i brought the cat demi-human back to him, and after healing him of his fatal wounds, i left him there. "now, i just have to wait." "he he." "and then i''ll have a knight in bloody armor come to serve me." "he he." end of step four
