That would probably be what would happen if this happened in a game world. Today is a good day to be me; I just won a business plan competition... well the national round at any rate. Me the geeky Asian kid who still stammers when caught off-guard, who loves playing games more than studying. Granted this wouldn¡¯t be possible without my partner¡¯s guidance, he¡¯s always the one better with presentations and talking but since this was a minor competition (at this stage) and he was talking to a potential major client¡
Still, this is worth celebrating and I was excited to announce the results to my girlfriend but instead the runner-up, Eric came up to me¡ and my world shattered.
Not literally of course, this isn¡¯t some fantasy world after all. Things started off normal, with him congratulating me and drawing me into a deeper discussion regarding the details of my business plan. Without noticing it, we split off from the crowds and wandered down one of the more isolated hallways¡
¡°Don¡¯t you think that these competitions are kind of like duels? Though I think they should be more intense with everything we worked for on the line, wouldn¡¯t that be more exciting like those life or death duels in olden days? Don¡¯t you agree?¡±
The abrupt change in topic and odd emphasis in his words caught my attention, and before I even realized it, I blurted out the word that will change my world¡
¡°Sure. I-¡±

What on earth is going on? A blue window suddenly appeared in front of me and an odd glowing wall appeared around us and all the sounds of the outside world suddenly got cut off¡ You must be shitting me¡
¡°Bet you must be confused now little NPC? Well you won¡¯t be for much longer, since there won¡¯t be a you left in a few moments once the duel begins. So what should I use to get rid of you? Let¡¯s see¡¡±
Various weapons started to materialize in his hands as he examined them and I panicked and scrambled backwards, seeing a huge bastard sword appear in his hand. ONE HAND and he is swinging it around like it¡¯s made of paper. In my haste, I fell over and watched as the ominous glowing countdown reached zero and my opponent grinned viciously hefting the large sword in his hand.

Chapter 1: But They Might Lead To Sticks & Stones...
Startled by loud DING sound, I jerked and threw my laptop bag at Eric before turning tail to run away¡ only to crash into the glowing barrier which existence I¡¯m presently trying to deny with all my mental might to no avail.
SHIT. Turning back only to see my bag and laptop sliced into half with paper fluttering everywhere obscuring Eric¡¯s vision, which was quite likely the only thing which saved me in those precious seconds I wasted trying to run. Seeing that impossible blade slashing the papers out of mid-air, I can¡¯t help but imagine how easily it would slice through me and despaired with flashes of my past running through my mind. Is this how it would all end? NO! There is still so much more I have to accomplish, and most importantly¡ I AM NOT GOING TO DIE A VIRGIN!
Yes... My life is sad. Even though I''m a healthy 20 year old with a beautiful girlfriend... I''m still a virgin... But now isn''t the time to think of such things, I must survive! FOR HOT MONKEY SEX!!
With that thought sustaining me, my brain went into overdrive as adrenaline kicked in and I began thinking of possibilities of beating the guy but that weapon¡ Wait he seems really arrogant maybe I can¡
¡°WAIT PLEASE, I DON¡¯T KNOW WHAT THIS IS ABOUT BUT YOU DON¡¯T NEED THAT SWORD! PLEASE I¡¯ll DO ANYTHING JUST PUT IT AWAY, ISN¡¯T THIS SUPPOSED TO BE A DUEL? ARE YOU SO AFRAID OF ME THAT YOU NEED A WEAPON?¡±
Mixing what I hope to the right amount of fear and wavering in my voice to give the impression of false bravado and weakness to Eric, I yelled at him while cowering slightly as he stepped just outside of slashing range.
Eric snarled at me angrily as the blade in his hands dissolved into particles and faded away.
¡°Hmpf. You dare accuse me of being a coward? I can easily break all your bones with my bare hands! I was going to give you a quick end but since you as-¡±
Without waiting to hear the rest of his egotistical speech knowing that he is the stronger party, I spat at his face and dashed forward with my hands outstretched¡
¡°YOU DARE!!¡± Eric screamed in anger as he quickly wiped the spit off with his hands, obscuring his vision for a split second¡ only to be faced with my thumbs driving straight into his eyes and merciless gouging in.
¡°UGHHHHHH!!¡±
Ignoring the disgusting squishy feel under my thumbs, I steeled myself and ripped my hands away effectively popping out his eyes and side-stepped away to his right shoulder as he flailed wildly with one hand covering his lost eyes. Without pausing, I rammed my hand stiffened into a knifehand into the bottom of his trachea, exactly in between his collarbones the weakest portion of the throat and instantly blocked off his windpipe.

As Eric doubled over choking and gasping for air, with adrenalin and fear fueling my movements I flowed into a downward elbow strike which hit the back of his neck with a dull thump and he collapsed towards the floor while I unleashed a flurry of wild fist strikes into the back of his head as he slumped.
¡°GUH!¡±
Gasping for breath from the sudden exertion, I backed away slightly and eyed him impossibly struggling to stand back up. That was the deadliest moves I learnt chained up and he still seemed to be conscious¡ No choice. I moved over to his body and unleashed a series of targeted stomps hitting the back of knee to stop him from standing and his kidneys to soften him up before viciously stomping his head into the ground.
*CRUNCH* *CRUNCH*
I winced at the sound of his nose and skull grinding into the floor as it bounced between my leather shoes and the hard tiled floor and finally stop before I killed him for real as I noticed his body stopped twitching.
| Congratulations! Your opponent is down for the count. You have won the duel!
