Old man Lu was blinded by the light. He slowly walked towards it while using his hand to block the light. One of the men was using a fire sword while the other one was using a lightning sword. It seems like they were evenly match. The fire swordsman flew high in the sky followed by the lightning swordsman. The fire swordsman casted a magic spell. The heat started to gather around the swordsman sword. The other swordsman also started to chant some spell at a fast pace. The aura around the lightning swordsman started to spark. Both swordsmen stare at each other. The fire swordsman slashed the air and created a fire dragon to come out at the tip of the sword. The fire dragon twisted and open his mouth. The dragon approached the lightning swordsman within a few seconds even if the gap between them was 100 meters. The lightning swordsman led out a scream and a barrier started to envelop the lighting swordsman. He became a lightning ball and charged towards the fire dragon. The collision between those two forces creates an explosion that could be heard from old man Lu house. Liam stared at the battle which sparks something within him. He wanted to know how they were able to fly. He started to wonder if he could also do it. He glared at them to find a hint. Liam was a smart child and he knew that they weren¡¯t ordinary human. The lightning swordsman smiled from one ear to the other. He strikes his sword down under the ground with both his hand. The fire swordsman stared at the other swordsman while chanting his spell. The fire swordsman started to question the action of his enemy. The enemy pinned his sword on the earth without doing anything else. The fire swordsman almost finishes his chant but he noticed that the lightning swordsman didn¡¯t move at all. Suddenly, the lightning swordsman looked towards the fire swordsman and smiled at him. The fire swordsman felt a chill on his back. The fire swordsman casted his spell and a giant heat wave crashed the surrounding. The lac water level went down by half. All living thing started to die off. Liam felt the heat crashing his whole body but his horn started to glow and absorb the energy from the heat which helped him to stay alive. He quietly went behind a rock and started to observe once more the battle between the swordsmen. The lightning swordsman suffered quite some damage from the heat wave but he didn¡¯t let go of the sword. The thunder hit the back of the fire swordsman. Both swordsmen were at the end of the rope. They both knew that they were at the limit. They only had one more chance. He let watch the house burn into the ground until there¡¯s nothing left but ashes. He noticed something that was shining. It was a blue crystal. He took the crystal and a string, and he made a pendant out of it. Liam was smart but he didn¡¯t know that his parents were killed by the heat wave that caused both his parents to die from a heat stroke. He only knew that it was somewhat related. He took his bag with one hand and putted on his right shoulder. He started to march towards the west. While Liam was walking, he encounters some wild animals. He didn¡¯t know much about these animals but he knew that he couldn¡¯t act carelessly around them. He would climb tree to escape some and he would run for others. After using up all his resource from his backpack, he started to learn how to catch animal for food. He would drink spring water and store some in his bag when he gets the chance. The hardest part was to trap animals. It¡¯s been over 2 weeks that he¡¯s been walking towards the west but he didn¡¯t find anything. He was able to prey on small rabbits, but he was always getting chased by wolfs and other animals. One day, he saw a cave which looked safe. He didn¡¯t want to sleep on top of a tree again so he went inside to take refuge. He noticed that there¡¯s something lurking behind the shadow. He felt a presence and without the time to react, a giant paw swung towards Liam sent him flying backwards and hit the wall of the cave. He slowly gets up and saw a giant bear. It was 2 meters tall. Liam couldn¡¯t move his right arm because he used it to block the attack. He stared at the bear with a hint of fear in his eyes. He knew that he couldn¡¯t beat this bear. The bear started just woke up from his slumber and he was quite hungry. The bear stared at Liam like if Liam was some morning snack. Liam had a broken arm and he didn¡¯t have a lot of energy. He had to face a hungry bear that just woke up. Liam wanted to run for it but the entrance was blocked by the bear. Liam decides to run for his life. He lean his body towards the exit like a race track pro. The bear noticed Liam¡¯s movement and knew that he wanted to escape. Suddenly, the bear roared which paralyse anyone that hears it. Book1Chapter 3 First Battle =========== Years 20298 Liam heard the roar and froze up. However, after a few seconds, he was able to move again but he didn¡¯t have the time to dodge the paw that was coming towards his face. Liam saw the world turned around then the ground coming towards him. Liam tasted the dirt then coughed some blood. The bear looked at Liam with a shocking look. He saw a young boy getting up after taking two of his strongest hits. Liam got up and spat some blood on the side. He looked into the bear eyes and slowly took out his dagger from his back. Holding his knife with both his hands, he was at his limit. He looked at the bear once more and saw the light coming from the back of the bear. He saw the exit but it was guarded by this nasty bear. Liam face grew darker when he saw the smirk on the bears face. The light showed the true form of the bear. He had black fur with golden stripes all over his body. He looked like a tiger with a body of a bear. He had golden eyes with a hint of joy when staring at Liam. He knew that he was nothing more than a play thing. Now facing a weak child, the bear relaxed his muscle in order to enjoy his new toy. Liam noticed that the bear started to not take him seriously. Thinking that he¡¯ll die, Liam threw himself with the dagger facing the bear heart. Without knowing, Liam horn started to shine and showed a dim blue light. The bear tried to react to it but he couldn¡¯t move. It felt like a giant boulder fell on his back which restricted his movement. Liam thrust the dagger into the bear organ. The golden stripes were like an exoskeleton that protected his vital spots on his body. However, Liam was small and had the perfect angle to stab his heart. The bear would¡¯ve never guessed that he would¡¯ve died in the hands of a little boy. Liam stared at the bear and sat down. He looked at the corpse and rest on it. He fell asleep without any other thoughts. While Liam was sleeping, he¡¯s necklace started to shine for a while before losing once more the brilliance. Liam woke up several hours later because his stomach started to growl. He felt sore but he was grateful that his body was tough. He can move both his arms once more and took action. He took out his dagger and skinned the bear. He went to gather some dry wood and started a fire. He cooked the meat and ate until his stomach felt like exploding. He took the fur and wore it like an oversize cape to keep his body warm. After some weeks, Liam started his journey once more. He started to walk towards the west once more. When dusk started to appear, Liam saw the outskirt of the forest. When he came out of the forest, he saw a road in front of him. The road always lead to a city, Liam decided to follow it. Liam looked like a bear walking along side of the road. He wore the bear skin like a hoodie. Nobody was on the road. Night swiftly came giving no time to Liam to get ready. He took some branch lying around and started a fire. He wrapped himself with the bear skin and fell asleep. When he woke up, he saw some people watching him. Liam didn¡¯t know that when he was sleeping, some carriage was passing the road. The driver saw a strange thing beside the road. He saw a bear sleeping beside a fire camp. He stopped the carriage in order to avoid the danger but he noticed it had a strange figure. It looked like a starved bear that barely had meat on him. The L¡¯or family came home this afternoon; upon arriving they informed the household that Liam will be joining the school with Cindy next week. School starts at the end of the summer. So they had one week to get ready. Liam didn¡¯t let the news bother him and went back to training. Training was his passion; he wanted to learn everything possible. Cindy wanted to spend time with Liam but she was stopped by her mother that told her to get ready for the school ceremony. One week flew without Liam noticing. Liam woke up from a knock on the door, thus he got up and opened the door. It was the butler with a small suit on his forearm. ¡°Good morning Liam, this is a gift from me, it¡¯s a suit that you¡¯ll need in order to serve Lady Cindy. We wouldn¡¯t want people to think that Lady Cindy¡¯s butler can¡¯t afford a good outfit¡± said the butler with a smile. Liam thanked the butler and changed into the black suit. He looked quite handsome for his age. He didn¡¯t look 5; he looked like a 12 years old child. He was a lot taller than most children his age. He had snow white hair with beautiful sky blue eyes. He had a poker face that looked like a doll. He was 1 meter and 40 cm. The contrast of the suit and his hair made him look outstanding. The horn on Liam¡¯s head was visible to his eyes; however it was invisible to everyone else. It seems like you can¡¯t feel it either. When Liam was ready, he joined the family at the dining room. They were eating breakfast before heading to school. They¡¯ll be staying at the school campus until vacation. Liam didn¡¯t mind since he wanted to explore the world. Book1Chapter 5 Arrival at Jade City ========== Years 20298 It¡¯s was a beautiful afternoon when they reached the city. They¡¯ve been in the road for some days now. Cindy wanted to window shop before heading to the school but they didn¡¯t have time to spare since they needed to get ready for the ceremony. They reached the gate of the school soon after reaching the city. The gate was enormous and it had the school emblem on the middle of it. The emblem was made out of 4 majestic beasts on each corner; the blue dragon on the top right, the red phoenix on the top left, the white tiger on the bottom right and the black turtle on the bottom left. The gate split in two and left a passage for the carriage to enter. The carriage arrived in front of the school within 5 minutes. The court yard was quite long and the entrance was full carriages. Every carriage had a rich student coming out like a royalty. Some students entered the school while other stayed in front to observe the newcomers. It was always good to make connection with powerful family. It was L¡¯or family carriage next, the carriage stopped in front and the doorman opened the carriage¡¯s door and Cindy made her entrance following by Tristan and Liam. Cindy was wearing a white summer dress with flat shoes. Tristan was wearing a blue tunic and khaki pants with brown boat shoes. Liam had a black butler uniform. He stood behind the twin while some people were gazing them. It was an impressive view since they were all in the age of 5 to 7 years old. It seems like it¡¯s hard to be a rich kid. They had to put up a fashion show in front of all those students in order to show power. It didn¡¯t feel like they were children. Cindy went inside without paying much attention to the attention they brought. The entrance was like a dome that had paintings of the 4 beast on the ceiling. The floor was made of crystal. There was only one hallway that leaded into a gigantic room. The room was full of chair and students waiting for the beginning of the ceremony. The room also had 4 entrances with an emblem on top of each door. Each door represented a beast; they all had different colors depending on the beast. It seems like the campus was separated in four houses. They will be studying in separated class and they would have different field of study however, they¡¯ll have some class that are obligated for all students. They campus was 15 km x 15 km in total. There was all kind of facility to help the students grow. They didn¡¯t leave any expenses because the students here will the future leaders of the continent of Starlight. When all the students have arrived and has been seated, the ceremony started without further notice. A platform has been raised in front of the 4 entrances. They platform had a giant black tablet with a circular crystal in the middle of the tablet. An Old man with a white robe walked up into the platform and stood beside the tablet. ¡°Greeting to all the newcomers, we will start this ceremony in order to see your level of power and we will assign you into one of the 4 houses depending on your attribute and power with the help of the school faculty that stands behind me¡± said the old man with a loud voice. ¡°We will name each and every student, the student will come forward and come on the platform and place the hand on the tablet, it¡¯ll show us your power and we will assign you to your house. You may request a house before the test and you may request a change in the decision. HOWEVER, it¡¯s not certain that your request will be granted because you aren¡¯t compatible enough¡± added the old man. ¡°Lex Ame, please come to the platform¡± said the headmaster. Lex stood up quickly and went on the platform. He presses the tablet and closes his eyes. The tablet lit up and showed 2 stars while the crystal turned blue. He opened his eyes and let out a sigh. The teachers started to put talk between each other and gave a small piece of paper at the old headmaster. ¡°Black turtle house¡± said the headmaster. Lex went back to his seat with a smile. ¡°Emily Ares¡± said the headmaster loudly. Emily looked quite nervous when she went on the stage. She comes from a powerful family that all went to this academy and they all went in the phoenix house. Her family expect her to enter that house in order to continue the tradition. Leo stood up and walked towards the platform. Everyone was looking at him with a surprise face. Leo is the 3rd son of the king of Jade city. Everyone from his family was powerful and they all reached Jack rank at least. The students were curious on his power level. Leo held his head high while walking to the platform. He had confidence overflowing out of his body. He put his hand on the tablet and it showed 4 stars and the crystal turned silver. Everyone was surprised by the rank that was showed but what really awed everyone was the color that the crystal exposed. Silver is a special colors since it¡¯s rare. He had the metal element which was a rare sight. He smirked and looked at the rest of students like if they were nothing but lowly peasants. Some students felt offended and other didn¡¯t care at all. ¡°White Tiger¡± said the headmaster. Dozens of students passed the ceremony and Liam was falling asleep next to Cindy. Suddenly, Liam woke up because of a cry. Liam looked up the platform and saw a young girl cry her tears out. Liam was thinking that she didn¡¯t get the house she wanted and asked Cindy about the situation. She told him that she didn¡¯t pass the test. The crystal glowed red but the tablet didn¡¯t show any star. It seems like she wasn¡¯t strong enough to enter the school. One star seem quite low however, a fully grown adult that has been bodybuilding all his live would only receive one star at most. These children has been nurture and spoiled by their parents. They have received the best treatment to gain mana and power. Some have eaten legendary food that would increase their mana and strength. Other would have secret technique in order to power up their body. In some case, money even plays a factor in gaining power. 1 star would rival 10 men in raw strength while 2 stars would rival 20 men, and 3 stars could rival 50 men. The minimum requirement was 1 star and an element. Some would have the strength to get a star but not enough mana to get an element; on the other hand, some would have a lot of mana but no strength. This school require both since it¡¯s one of the top schools. There¡¯s other school that specialise in mana power or in strength power. After the commotion, the ceremony resumed and after several students has passed without problem. ¡°Cindy L¡¯or¡± said the headmaster. Cindy walked up and presses her hands on the tablet. 3 stars showed up and the crystal turn green and red. Everyone eyes popped out of their skull. She had 3 stars which were impressive however, some had 3 stars and Leo had 4 stars. They couldn¡¯t believe she had two elements; in addition they complimented each other. This kind of person would come once every century. ¡°May I request the blue dragon house¡± said Emily L¡¯or. The request was granted because she had wind and fire element. ¡°Tristan L¡¯or¡± said the headmaster. Everyone was wondering if the brother would have a double element also. Tristan went on stage and presses the tablet which showed 3 stars and 2 elements. Everyone was stunned since there are two people that had double elements. He also requested to join the dragon house which was also granted by the faculty. The rest of the students passed without causing any uproar until the last student stood up and walked towards the tablet. Nobody could believe it. He was 4 stars with double elements. The crystal was red and blue. He had fire and lightning elements. He went towards the phoenix door without asking permission and the headmaster nodded without any complaint. He was named¡­
