《Otherworlds》 The day I fell into a trap- (Ruka) High school graduation was supposed to be a tearful event where friends say goodbye, taking pictures together to commemorate their friendships and tearful goodbyes. In the second year of high school, Ruka had still failed to make any real friends. However, he could finally muster the courage to hold a decent conversation with the guys of his class, unlike previously when he would freeze up and become unable to speak at all. ¡°Hikaru!¡± a guy shouted, as he tapped Ruka on his shoulder from the back. ¡°Oh! Ehh¡­ Sorry, Sakurai-kun. I thought you were Hikaru. ¡±the stranger apologised. ¡°Its¡­ok¡±, Ruka said, as he stared at the boy, quizzically pondering the reason he was looking for his older brother. The boy went pale and fidgeted: ¡°Ehh¡­ I need to go. Bye!¡± Immediately after, he bolted as fast as his legs could take him. At this rate, Ruka thought, he would have been able to make the track team. Hikaru and Ruka were identical twins, but once spoken to, people had no difficulties tell them apart due to the sharp contrast in their personalities and expressions. Hikaru was known to be cheerful and outgoing, while on the other hand, Ruka was constantly monotonous and dry. Only close friends knew this was because Ruka was very shy of most other people. Hai¡­I wish I was more like Hikaru¡­¡­Speaking of which, where is he? Ruka thought. Ruka began to search for Hikaru through the school compound. As he was about to walk pass the class block, Ruka saw Hikaru on the other side of the block through the window. A girl was passing him a love letter again! A normal individual would probably not have recognised that piece of paper as a love letter. However, with his perfect eyesight that is on par with a hawk, he could spot a mouse a mile away. It must have been the umpteenth time this year that he witness such a scene. Fleeing, Ruka¡¯s chest burned with jealously at the thought of his popular older brother Hikaru-- the school¡¯s idol, student council president and clich¨¦ popular guy in school-life mangas that all the girls want to date! Even his crush seemed to be infatuated with his brother-- the earnest and diligent vice-captain of the girl¡¯s kendo club was constantly seen talking to his brother, while blushing! It was a very rare yet beautiful side of her revealed whenever they are together. Oh how he longs for her to smile at him and blush only because of him. Ruka really hated Hikaru for being so charming and popular. From the corner of his eye he spot her under the old cherry tree near the school gate, her silky black hair swaying in the wind, her pale skin adding to her otherworldly mystique. Ruka stood there rooted to the ground, enrapture by her beauty. This spell on Ruka was only broken when Yui-san glanced in Ruka¡¯s direction and made eye contact. Time seemed to freeze as Ruka¡¯s face turned many shades of red, causing Ruka to quickly turn away in embarrassment, not wanting to be caught staring and taken as a creep. Please give this to Ruka-senpai!¡± a petite girl said earnestly, blushing while biting her lower lip. ¡°No problem. Behind his sweet smile, however, Hikaru schemed: Another love letter for Ruka ¡­..Your beloved Onii-san will take care of this. Fufufu¡­. As soon as the girl thrust the letter into his hand and ran off, Hikaru set off to find Ruka. At home¡­. ¡°Ruka! Why didn¡¯t you wait for me? ¡±Hikaru shouted as he burst through the front door of the house. ¡°Oh! Ani, just in time. The delivery guy just delivered another gaming pod. Is yours spoiled?¡± Ruka asked with a puzzled face. ¡°Ruka, that¡¯s for you. Don¡¯t you remember? You promised me that you will play Otherworlds with me¡­if I became the Valedictorian.¡± Hikaru beamed proudly as he said it, making sure to carefully enunciating every syllable va-le-dic-tor-ian. Finally, Hikaru thought, he will be able to spend more time with Ruka while gaming. Killing two birds with one stone. This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. Hikaru could be very demanding and stubborn at times. ¡°Ruka, think of it as a form of training to overcome your shyness towards other people. I¡¯m sure you will like the game. Onii-san guarantees it!¡± Hikaru smiled reassuringly. ¡°Okay, Ani¡­.¡± Ruka reluctantly agreed. Although Hikaru¡¯s smile was reassuring, Ruka felt like he was walking into a trap. ¡°Fuufuufuuu, the time has come to corrupt my younger brother and turn him into a gamer like me. Fufufu¡­.Now all that is left is to burn those 2 love letters for Ruka that I receive today¡­MuHAhAhAhah! If they do not even have the courage to talk to Ruka, then they are not worthy of being his girlfriend! Yui-san better treat me to lunch for this. I cannot wait to play this game! Ruka, as you may have already known, Otherworlds is a Virtual Reality MMORPG created by Inspire!, the most successful gaming company in Japan.¡± Ruka nodded lazily, as he stared past Hikaru. Hikaru continued: ¡°To enter the game, just like any other VRMMO, you have to purchase a capsule pod which will allow you to access the virtual world. I got your gaming pod from mum and dad in return for being the Valedictorian, so please put this to good use, Ruka. The best thing about the pod is that you can enter the game while your body is asleep! You can game 24/7! Isn¡¯t that awesome!¡± Ruka sat up in realisation of where this was going. It was not a pleasant experience to be stuck with his overprotective brother 24/7. Oh the agony! He has to think quickly of a way to persuade his brother against this notion. Meanwhile, Hikaru took Ruka¡¯s sudden alertness as a sign of interest and continued excitedly: ¡°As you know Otherworlds is a fantasy land made of numerous worlds. To go to another world, you have to complete special quests and meet certain requirement like your level and skill set to open the portal. You can go on an adventure to discover new worlds and slay weird monsters! Its like a dream come true form a party with you! I heard that the scenery is really spectacular!¡± Ruka paled at the thought of being dragged throughout the game by his brother. That hardcore gamer that can forgo sleep and game for three nights straight. ¡°Goodbye free time and personal space! I will miss you dearly!¡± Ruka thought in despair. ¡°The starting world, Mygics is made of the basic 5 continents, each based on one of the following elements: water, fire, earth, wind and dark. you will first start off in the beginner¡¯s city of the continent of your element of choice. Your choice of element is very important as you can only learn and use spells of that element. Otherworlds consist of 4 basic races: human, elf, ghoul and orc. The 4 races each has special traits. Humans- +5 intelligence, + 10 Agility Elf- +10 in strength, +10 attractiveness Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.Ghoul- +10 in stamina, +5 intelligence Orc- +5 strength, +5 vitality, -10 attractiveness Upon reaching Level 100, players can evolve into the sub clans specific to their race, provided that they clear certain special requirements of that sub clan. The various sub clans: Human- Angel, giant, zombie Elf- Fairy, demon, nymph Ghoul- Vampire, lich, armoured ghost Orc- demon Orc, Orc saint, Orc skeleton¡± Hikaru droned on about the game¡­. After what felt like hours of lecture to Ruka, Hikaru finally exclaimed: ¡°Let¡¯s play the game now!¡± Hikaru¡¯s eyes sparkled at the thought that he will be able to form a party together with his beloved Ruka and help him level up. ¡°Fufufu maybe Ruka will praise me in admiration of my gaming skills and express his brotherly affections for me when I save him from those nasty dungeon monsters¡­fufufu¡­.¡± Hikaru fantasized wildly in the privacy of his mind. ¡°Ani, let me play this game by myself till I reach level 100!¡± Ruka pleaded. Hikaru¡¯s fantasies were brought to a screeching halt. His dreams shattered into a million pieces. ¡°Why? Ruka? Why?!¡± Hikaru exclaimed woefully. ¡°Onii-san. Please¡­¡±Ruka stared at Hikaru with his huge watery puppy dog eyes. Hikaru could not resist those puppy dog eyes. Who could resist them? Guilt tripped, Hikaru gave in to his brother¡¯s request. He had a soft spot for his younger brother. ¡°Thank you, Onii-san!¡± Ruka smiled one of his warmest smiles that could have melted the coldest of hearts. Hikaru¡¯s heart melted at the sight of his brother¡¯s smile. With that he left Ruka¡¯s room to play Otherworlds. Ruka heaved a sigh of relief, as he place his eye drop back onto the table. ¡°Thank goodness that Hikaru always falls for that trick.¡± Ruka smiled, as he recalled Hikaru¡¯s face whenever he pulled this trick on him. Hikaru always gives in to him whenever he does his puppy eyes trick. Although, Ruka was not scheming by nature, he had no qualms about tricking others as long as no one was hurt. Of course, this more playful side of Ruka, was only seen by his family member and his close friends. Ruka was too shy to play his tricks on other people. With his request granted, Ruka decided to log into Otherworlds. Ruka wondered what will await him in Otherworlds...... Chapter 4- A New World - Ruka This chapter will still follow Ruka. With a flash, Yuki appeared in the city of Initium. Yuki looked around in amazement. He was awestruck by how realistic the VRMMO was. The noise of the marketplace, the refreshing sour smell of lemons grown on the trees and the feel of the solid ground below his feet. The market looked exactly like the morning market in Greece which he visited years ago. The NPCs looked and acted exactly like a human, with the exception of their title above their heads. If their title was not there, Yuki would have mistaken them for real players. The caress of the wind was blowing gently and the sun was shining brightly. The heat of the sun touches Yuki¡¯s face, as the sunlight cast onto Yuki made his light blue hair shine, making him seem like an angel. Some players merely glanced at him while some other players walked by conversing with each other. ¡°Is he an angel?¡± ¡°Wow, he looks so handsome! Do you think he also looks similar in real life?¡± ¡°He looks so cool, I wish my boyfriend looks like that!¡± ¡°I should have modify my character to be more handsome than that guy!¡± Oblivious to all their chatter and looks of envy and admiration, Yuki opened his stats window by saying ¡°status¡±

Looking at his pitiful stats, Ruka decided to find a dojo to train first. Ceilia''s point of view... ¡°Who is that guy? He looks like Ruka.¡± Ceilia thought, as she subconsciously followed Yuki through the streets. Eyes followed her as she walked through the streets. The ¡°Aqua Berserker¡± was a famous player known for her beauty and swordsmanship. Her long blue hair flowed past her waist, swaying in the wind. Her pale skin and pointy ears gave her an ethereal look. Ceilia was the very epitome of grace, as she walked through the streets. Ceilia was like a celestial being that has descended from the heavens. It was truly an enchanting sight to behold, similar to herself in the real world. Ceilia, or rather Yui has been in love with Ruka since the start of high school unknown to Ruka.. The kindness that he shows to the people and animals around him. The sweet but gentle side that he shows at times. The rare beautiful smile he shows that makes her swoon secretly. Despite being a veteran in swordsmanship, Ruka has never looked down on others but has gone out of his way to help and coach his fellow kendo club members. Thus, despite being alienated at the start due to being misunderstood as a troublemaker, through his gentle and kind nature, the boy¡¯s kendo club members began to look up to him. Thought he can be difficult to approach at times and very bad in holding a conversation, it was all these little quirks about Ruka that made her fall in love with him. However, due to the fact that Ruka is so painfully shy and can hardly hold a decent conversation, Yui could not find a good opportunity to confess her feelings for Ruka. It does not help that Ruka is also secretly very popular with girls, however or maybe thankfully he has been too dense to realise this. Yui has worried what is the best method to confess to him, so that he will understand her feeling for him. She has tried hinting to him many times through the course of these two years in High school to no avail. Thus, Yui has often sought after advice from Hikaru on how to confess to Ruka and also gain some favour (aka get rid of all her rivals in love). In turn, Hikaru has often teased her about it, making her blush. Hikaru has also often request her to do difficult or unreasonable task or favours in return too. In order to please the hard-core bro-con, she had to do all these task in order to gain his favour. Heavens know she tried very hard to get Hikaru¡¯s approval to be Ruka¡¯s girlfriend. It was a known fact that anyone who want to be Ruka¡¯s girlfriend has to first pass Hikaru¡¯s test. And passed it she did! Now all that she had to do was to confess to Ruka... Back to the search for the dojo( training centre)... Where is the Dojo? Yuki thought aloud, as he wander around the streets in Initium. From 500m away he spotted a dojo. This was a normal feat for him, as his eyesight was on par with a hawk. As he neared the dojo, He eyes fell upon a handsome guy with jet-black long hair tied up like a samurai¡¯s, which he thought was probably the NPC Dojo master. The guy fit Yuki¡¯s ideal look as a swordsman, cool as a cucumber and suave enough to make girls fall at his feet. The NPC look strikingly similar to his uncle, which was his sensei in kendo and swordsmanship. Yuki could not help but feel a sense of deep respect, admiration and familial feeling when he looked at the NPC. Will you please let me train at your dojo?¡± Yuki asked with deep respect after mustering up his courage. ¡°Son. This is not a dojo, but a Basic training centre. I am no sensei, but an instructor at this training centre. You may call me Sendou-san. The Basic training is 10 hours long. This is a wooden sword for you. You may start immediately.¡± The NPC replied coolly. ¡°Sendou-san, please give me another sword! I..I wish to learn the erm.. dual blade skill. I am dual blade swordsman in real life. Please grant my..eh..selfish request.¡± Yuki pleaded, as he stumbled on many words due to his nervousness from speaking to a new person. ¡°Calm down, son. This is the first time I am hearing such a request, but I know you are not lying. I will grant you your request, son.¡± The instructor replied, worried by how frantic Yuki is. Two wooden sword materialised in front of Yuki. ¡°Sendou-san, eh... which scarecrow in the dojo may I use?¡± Yuki asked politely. ¡°Like I said before, this is not a dojo, but a training centre! You may use any scarecrow you want.¡± Sendou-san said with a deep sigh, for some reason, he felt like correcting Yuki was going to be an uphill feat. To Yuki, not calling the training centre a dojo was what he felt a disrespect to the architect or rather the game designers. After all, everything about the training centre screamed ¡°Dojo¡±. The japanese paper door panels to the cedar roof of the building and even the wooden flooring of the training centre was modelled after a traditional japanese dojo. ¡°Thank you¡­. Sendou-san.¡± Yuki smiled as he thanked the NPC. Yuki¡¯s smile made him seem even more angelic if that was possible. The NPC instructor could not help but smile at the angelic youth. The boy seem like an angel and the perfect student to him, despite his unwelcomed shyness and stubbornness. The instructor watched Yuki move through the training centre like a proud father looking upon his son. As Yuki moved through the training centre, people made way for him. With both swords in hand, Yuki¡¯s swordsman aura very tangible in the air, making people unconsciously step away from him in fear despite his angelic appearance. Yuki moved through the training centre with the grace of a veteran swordsman. Ruka had trained in the ways of the sword since he was old enough to walk and he was the next-in-line to succeed his family¡¯s dojo. Yuki picked the scarecrow in the corner at the back furthest from the entrance. He began to lift his two swords in a fighting stance, as he breathe slowly, concentrating on the scarecrow. The people around him sucked in a breath as they watched in anticipation for what is to come. Deep in the hearts, they knew if they looked away they would have missed something incredible. Yuki launched into a series of continuous sword arts that were foreign to the players. Each was executed with precision, speed and grace. Onlookers felt like they were seeing a dance rather than a sword training. They watched Yuki slash at the scarecrow in awe. His blade was getting faster and faster each time he did so, till they could no longer see his blades. All they could see was the afterimage of his sword. The sight of his blade dance was beautiful to the onlookers, masking the sheer strength, experience and precision needed to execute these moves. ¡°Angelic swordsman¡± that was what the people who saw his sword dance nicknamed him. Players whispered among each other. ¡°That guy is so fast!¡± ¡°Such a beautiful technique!!Just like a Samurai!¡± ¡°I want to be killed by his swords in a PvP!¡± ¡°Are you nuts!?¡± At this point, multiple messages appeared in front of Yuki.

Unknown to him there are many ways to gain fame in Otherworlds, it can be through completing quest, making a widely known craft, or through player recognition. As a crowd has gathered to see his sword dance, Yuki has gained fame. ¡°Oh well¡­ Never mind, a little fame never hurts anyway.¡± Yuki thought as he resumed his fighting stance, unaware that he is being watched by a crowd. Ceilia¡¯s point of view¡­. ¡°That player looks like Ruka-kun and Hikaru¡­ Could it be Hikaru? However, the way he swings his sword with such grace and agility it cannot be Hikaru who always swings his sword with such fury. Could it be Ruka-kun? That¡¯s impossible! He is too shy to hold a such a long conversation with a stranger, even if it was a NPC. Oh how I wish he was Ruka thought¡­that way we could share more interests besides Kendo and Swordsmanship¡­¡±thought the blue- haired swordswoman, Ceilia as she stared longingly at Yuki slashing at the scarecrow. Chapter 5 - The birth of Taiyo - Hikaru Chapter 5 - The birth of Taiyo - Hikaru Who could resist those puppy dog eyes?! Hikaru could not help but admit defeat at the hands of his beloved younger brother, though he did get to see something beautiful- Ruka¡¯s rare smile. Resigned to his fate of being unable to meet with Ruka in the game till level 100, Hikaru decided to turn his disappointment into fuel for his desire to reach level 100 as quick as possible and become as strong as possible to be able to protect his beloved younger brother in the game. ¡°Don¡¯t worry, Ruka-chan! Your Onii-san is coming for you! Wait for me!¡± Hikaru resolved, as he stepped into his pod with determination in his eyes.

With a flash, Taiyo appeared in Inceptio. Without a moment to lose, Taiyo jogged enthusiastically off to the Basic Training Centre. Many will skip the basic training and go leveling first, but what they do not know is that by completing the basic training, one is able to level up faster due to having a higher proficiency in swordsmanship. There is also a bonus when one completes the training besides free usage of the centre, they obtain a sword in recognition for their effort and skill. Although, the duration of the basic training is very long, but to Taiyo the sacrifice is worth it. It is rumored that the sword received is given according to the player¡¯s ability. Those with prior experience with kendo and swordsmanship will definitely benefit greatly from this training. The reason why many ignore this training is that they complete beginners, so it does not matter how diligent they are in the training, they will at best get a normal steel sword. Hikaru¡®s family is a distinguish family well known for producing great kendo practitioners and has a dojo where Hikaru and Ruka trains at on a daily basis. His family has been well known as dual sword wielders, disciplining many swordsman and kendo practitioners. Although Ruka and Hikaru started training together at the age of 5, Ruka had shown much more talent then Hikaru. Thus, Ruka though younger was next in line, as the successor to the family dojo. Both of them have attained a sho-dan,the equivalent of a black belt, which is the highest rank they could get at the age of 17. Knowing that Ruka and Him hold such an unfair advantage, Hikaru previously told Ruka to try his luck and train at the Basic training centre to fully take advantage of their superior swordsmanship. ¡°Hello Instructor-san. May I train here?¡± Taiyo asked the NPC politely. ¡°Young chap! This training is not for the weak minded. You must complete 10 hours of training. Here is a wooden sword to train with. Take the scarecrow on the left.¡± The instructor bellowed, as he pointed to the first scarecrow on the left. At the height of 190cm, the instructor towered over Taiyo which was just 171cm tall. The instructor looked menacing with his stern glare, toned body shaped and rippling with muscles the instructor appeared more like a wrestler than a swordsman. One punch from the instructor and Taiyo can say bye bye to all his HP. Taiyo gulped as he asked: ¡°May I request for a second sword, Instructor-san?¡± The instructor studied Taiyo for a while, then replied: ¡°My name is Katsunagi Sendou. You may call me Sendou. You have been the first to ask such a request. Go ahead, young chap. I expect great things from you.¡± With that two wooden daggers materialised in Taiyo¡¯s hands. ¡°Identify!¡±

Taiyo walked into the basic training centre towards his new friend for the next 10 hours. The interior was befitting of the instructor¡¯s oppressing aura. Numerous steel swords decorated the walls of the training centre with two neat rows of scarecrows lined up. Taiyo started his usual sword training on the scarecrow. He began slashing at the scarecrow with both swords in hand with increasing strength and speed. His blade moved at the speed of light, too fast for the eye to see. The people around stopped and stare at his training in amazement, even the NPC instructor¡¯s programming could not help but take notice of him. You might be reading a pirated copy. ¡°These skills will be useful¡­Ruka¡­Wait for me¡­Your Onii-san will get stronger!¡± Taiyo thought, as he started to munch on bread which was part of the newbie pack. Bread tasted exactly like the plain bread bought at any local bakery. The fluffiness of the bread, the softness and crusty outer layer of the bread, even the pores within the bread were so realistic. For once, Hikaru felt amaze at how realistic the simulation of taste is in Otherworlds. Compared to other VRMMOs, in terms of realism, Hikaru can safely say that Otherworlds has outcompeted any game that has been released. Tired of simply slashing at the scarecrow for hours, Taiyo decide to use the secret sword techniques his Uncle taught him. Chapter 6- Ruka –senpai! How could you?! -Ruka Chapter 6- Ruka ¨Csenpai! How could you?! -Ruka ¡°This game is actually not bad. I get to train, while my real body is resting. What a convenient thing¡± Yuki thought. Ruka is actually a sword training fanatic. He spends most of his free time training at the school dojo or at the family dojo. ¡°Ah! It¡¯s already so late!¡± Yuki exclaimed aloud, looking at the digital time. Ruka wanted to play the game for three hours but he overshot that time by an hour. Ruka tend to forget the time when it comes to things related to sword training. ¡°Log out!¡± Yuki said in a hurry. Yuki disappeared from the training centre immediately. ¡°Ehhh??? Where did that guy go?!¡± a player from the crowd exclaimed. ¡°Was he a ghost??¡± another player said in horror, as his face paled. ¡°Guys don¡¯t be foolish! He probably just log out. Probably¡­.¡± Another player said with doubt in his voice. The crowd that was there slowly dispersed, leaving people wondering if the angelic swordsman was a player or a ghost. Back in the real world¡­. ¡°Oh no! I¡¯m late!¡± Ruka exclaimed aloud. Ruka was late for his daily sword training at the family dojo. Ruka quickly grab his keikogi (kendo uniform) and towel and stuff them into his bag. He agilely jumped over his gaming pod and grab his two wooden swords and ran out of the house. Ruka was good at parkour. He practises parkour out of interest on the way to the dojo and back from it. ¡°I guess now is a good time to put it to good use.¡± Ruka thought as he leaped into the air and landed on the wall of his neighbour¡¯s house. Ruka was going to take this short-cut that bypass 25 minutes of walking by going straight through the houses and sneaking in the dojo through the backyard. At the pace he was running, he would reach the dojo in 5 minutes, instead of 25 minutes if he were to use the normal route. As he ran along the wall, one of his twin wooden swords at his side unfortunately hit his neighbour¡¯s cat on its head. The ginger cat screeched in surprise. The poor cat was rudely awoken by the knock on its head. Never did it imagined the day where humans would run on top of walls like this rude guy in front of it. ¡°Sorry Ginger!¡± Ruka apologised in hurry and run off. If it was in a normal situation where he was not in a hurry, Ruka would have stopped to apologise to the cat properly and maybe play with the cat. However, desperate situations calls for desperate measures. His Uncle was probably fuming mad now. In order not to be later than he already was, Ruka had no choice but to leave the cat angry. Ruka¡¯s heart was in a turmoil. Ruka is a cat lover, to leave any cat mad at him was heart-breaking to him, much less his favourite cat in the neighbourhood. If his mother was not allergic to them, he would have taken in all the stray cats in the neighbourhood. ¡°Sorry, Ginger! I promise that I will buy a can of sardines for you on the way back. Please forgive me!¡± Ruka thought as his eyes became moist as the thought of being hated by that cat. Reaching the end of the wall, Ruka leaped down from the wall. As he was not cautious of his surroundings once again, he leaped right in front of a group of unsuspecting youths. Wasting no time for chit-chat, Ruka once again leap onto the wall and jumped into the dojo¡¯s backyard. ¡°Ahh! Its Ruka-senpai!¡± one of the youths exclaimed. The three boys were rather surprised from Ruka''s dramatic entrance and exit. "Let''s follow him! Call the others! We will finally have our matches!" another youth exclaimed gleefully. In the dojo¡­. Ruka sneaked into the changing room and quickly changed into his keikogi, the practice attire for kendo. As he was about to sneak into the training hall, the door panel opened. ¡°Ruka...¡± A middle aged man said sternly. The man bore a striking similarity to the NPC instructor in initium, the most distinct difference is that this man had short slightly greyish hair. ¡°Tatsuya-ojisan¡­¡± Ruka greeted slowly after recovering from the shock from being caught red-handed. ¡°Ruka. It¡¯s not like you to be late. I know you started playing games like your older brother, but please remember not to become addicted. A little fun is okay, but control yourself. I hope I will not see a repeat of this. Is that clear, Ruka?¡± Ruka¡¯s Uncle said with concern. Ruka is usually very punctual for sword training and if he was to be late he would have call to inform his uncle in advance. His uncle was concern for Ruka''s safety and was waiting patiently for his arrival for about an hour. The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. ¡°Yes¡­ Tatsuya-ojisan¡­¡± Ruka said as he stared at his feet in shame. Tatsuya Sakurai led his nephew into the training hall and was surprised to find a group of youths waiting at the entrance. ¡°Aichi-kun, Niwa-kun, and Hibari-kun! Why..why are you all here?¡± Ruka exclaimed in surprise. The three youths look at each other nervously. They nudge each other to tell ruka the reason for their visit but they were slightly nervous due to the presence of his stern looking uncle. They had to get Ruka''s uncle to let them borrow Ruka for today, if not their seniors will never have the chance to challenge Ruka again. For the sake of the kendo club, they had to muster up their courage to go through with their plan to make Ruka''s uncle force Ruka into accepting this whole box of challenges. ¡°Vice-captain.... How could you ditch us? We were all looking forward to challenging you at the school dojo before you went home.¡± Niwa-kun said with fake tears in his eyes, as he handed Ruka a box full of letters of challenges from various members of the kendo club. Ruka was the new vice-captain of the kendo club. Although he was stronger than the new captain and even the seniors, he declined the role of captain as he felt that he lacked inter-personal skills and leadership that a captain should have. Although he was not very sociable, he won the respect and admiration of his fellow kendo members. Upon the fervent persuasion or rather insistence of the members of the kendo club, Ruka became the vice-captain. Ruka stared at them in disbelief as he held into the box full of challenges from the various kendo club menbers and some were even from the girl''s kendo club. Ruka knew that there might be a few people who might want to challenge him in a match before they left the school, but never did he expect so much people! Aichi-kun, Hibari-kun and Niwa-kun looked at Ruka''s uncle with moist eyes as they pleaded:" Sir, please let our seniors have their matches with Ruka-senpai. It is the last chance they will ever have. Please sir!" " The same old trick Ruka always use on his brother. I guess Ruka has been teaching them more things than kendo...." Uncle Tatsuya thought to himself as he smile reassuringly at the three boys and said: ¡°Ruka. I guess training is postponed till tomorrow. You should not let down your juniors expectation, go and accept all those challenges. I will allow you to use our dojo for your matches, but please clear up and lock up after you are done. I will be heading home first. ¡± ¡°Thank you, Sir.¡± The three boys bowed as they thanked Ruka¡¯s Uncle with joy. The plan had worked! The boys smiled to each other mischievously. Aichi-kun took out his phone and sent a message to all kendo club members to come to Ruka¡¯s family dojo. "but...!" Ruka voiced his disapproval at his uncle, knowing that he did not fell for that little trick. He did not want to be stuck with these challengers for the whole day. "No buts. Go and face these challengers head on. Boys if he tries to ditch it please let me know. I will make sure he will face a serious punishment." Uncle Tatsuya smiled slyly at Ruka, as he left. This will be the punishment for being late for training. Seeing that his Uncle has given the ultimate, Ruka has no choice but to compile to the demands of his juniors. ¡°This was going to be a very long day¡± Ruka thought as he heave a sigh. Back at home¡­ ¡°Hikaru! Ruka will be late for dinner today as he is having a match with all the kendo club members. So we will eat dinner without him.¡± Tatsuya-Ojisan commented. ¡°Yes.... Tatsuya-Ojisan.¡± Hikaru replied indifferently, but he was seething underneath in anger. ¡°All those kendo club members always stealing my precious time with my beloved brother! Chapter 7 - My love(obsession) story- Ruka Author''s note Hi, before the start of this chapter, I would like to thank all the people who read, support and follow my story. This is the first time I''m writing a fanfic, so please bear with me. After reading a comment by Theorize about Multiple point of views, I''ve decide to group Ruka and Hikaru''s side of the story by arcs ( A few chapters). Thus, this chapter will be about Ruka again and the next few chapters will be on Hikaru. Hopefully, it will be less confusing and more smooth to read. Thank you all and have fun reading this chapter. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Chapter 7 - My love(obsession) story- Ruka After defeating all the challengers( both his juniors and seniors), I was extremely tired as I dragged my feet home. Normally beating all the kendo club members will be an easy feat for me, not that I want to brag. However, due to the back-to-back matches with all my overly enthusiastic seniors and juniors in the kendo club, the physical drain inflicted on me was too much to bear. By the time I defeated the last challenger, sky was pitch black. As I was walking home, my stomach held a vocal protest against me. The noise that it was making was loud enough for the whole district to hear! It was about 2 hours after my usual dinner time after all. I was famished! Once I reached home, I dived for the dining table and gobbled my food as if I haven¡¯t eaten in days. ¡°Now I guess its about time for me to continue my painting.¡± I mumbled to myself. I fall in love with painting since I was 8 years old. Painting was my second love after swordsmanship, that is apart from Yui...cough..cough... In my free time apart from my usual sword training, I would walk around town sketching or painting the scenery that I like. My current art piece is a painting of the sunset from the view of the roof of the school building. It was almost completed, but I was not very satisfied with it. It could have been better. It was a shallow piece, pretty but not good enough to touch the hearts of others. I know that if anyone else saw my painting they would praise it. The town bathed in the warm orange sunset, giving of a warm feeling of happiness and joy. It was truly a work of art. The painting was beautifully unique in its own way. However, it just was not good enough to me. I picked up my palette and made the finishing touches to his artwork. It was lacking something. The painting just could not fully convey the feelings I wanted to show, unlike my first masterpiece of the shadow of a girl swinging her bamboo sword in the sunset under the school cherry blossom tree¡­. It was the start of the first year. I was still deciding if I should join any of the clubs or be part of the go-home club, as I toured around the booths on recruitment day together with oh-so my super popular brother. ¡°Should I join the Kendo club, or should I join something else?¡± I thought silently to myself as I followed Hikaru through the crowd. The school ground has over night turned into a carnival, with all the various sports, performing arts and interest groups running booths to showcase their club. The atmosphere here was very lively and the senpais were all very friendly. However, I could see a hidden fire in the depths of their eyes, as if they were going to war. It was slightly nerve-wracking as they approached us. My intuition was right on the mark as I discovered later from Hikaru that the different clubs were involved in a competition to see which club has the highest increase in the number of recruits compared to last year. The winning club will get a increase of $200 in budget, as sponsored by the student council. ¡°Join the student counsel!¡± ¡°Soccer! We are looking for courageous men to join!¡± ¡°Hi! we are giving out free samples of food from the home economics club. Would you like one?¡± Many of the seniors called out to HIkaru and I with overpowering enthusiasm, it was a very nerve-wracking day. Many people (mostly girls) were surrounding us trying to get Hikaru to join their club, but he just smiled and decline politely. I wish I was as relaxed as Hikaru. With so many people swarming us, I was stiff with nervousness. I did not know how to handle them! Those unknown creatures called girls. It was really beyond me. All the people surrounding my brother and I were chatting to my brother endlessly. I could not stand any more of this crowd of people and noise. The emotional burden was too much for me. I made an excuse to Hikaru saying that I had a sudden stomach ache and slipped out of the crowd quickly. ¡°Phew..I¡¯m glad that I finally got rid of that crowd. I should make my way to the kendo club booth and then go home.¡± I decided. I was still unsure if I should join the Kendo club. During elementary school and middle school, there was no kendo club. Thus, I was part of the go-home club. Everyday I walk past all those athletes training together with their club mates, I can¡¯t help but feel a bit envious of them being able to laugh so freely with others. I really wish I wasn¡¯t so shy. Maybe I could have joined a club in the past¡­Made some good memories with the great friends that I could of had! Well its too late for regrets. The past is the past, no point crying over spilled milk. I need to focus on the present! As I neared the school dojo, I saw a large commotion at the entrance of the dojo. A large sea of people were gathering around what seems to be a quarrel between a kendo club member and a girl. I was not a busybody by nature, but I had to walk over to found out more on what is going on. I did not want to join a club with problems. I rather be alone than be in a club full of trouble makers. ¡°Why can¡¯t I join the kendo club?!¡± a beautiful, long-haired girl exclaimed in frustration. As she glared at the kendo club booth personnel. Boy, was she fierce¡­. You really do not want to mess with her in that state. She was puffing up her rosy cheeks in anger as her eyes were shooting daggers at the poor guy. Though, she did look quite cute when she puff up her cheeks¡­..Eghh! Snap out of it, man! ¡°Eh..Miss, this is a boys only club. So I¡¯m afraid that you cannot join this club.¡± The personnel replied slightly intimidated by the girl much shorter than him. ¡°So just because I¡¯m a girl I can¡¯t do kendo?! What gender discrimination!!!¡± The girl shouted in fury. Just then a tall, stern looking third year in kendo practise uniform walked out from the dojo. He pushed up his glasses on his nose and said: ¡°What was all this commotion about?¡± ¡°Captain! This girl says she want to join the kendo club!¡± the personnel said in disbelief. ¡°Miss, I¡¯m sorry but this is a boys only kendo club...but if you really want to do kendo, I can let you join on the condition that you can beat me. So do you still want to join the kendo club?¡± The captain told the girl cooly hoping that she will back down quietly with this announcement. ¡°Yes! I will challenge you to a kendo match!¡± the girl replied firmly with fire in her eyes. More people gathered to watch the match as I stayed at the back of the crowd watching this commotion. Wow that girl has guts! I moved through the crowd to get a better view of the match. They stood across each other in their own respective stance waiting for the start of the match. ¡°First one to 3 points is the winner, same rules as normal competition. You may now begin!¡± the student referee played by another third year announced. The two of them paced each other measuring the opponent, as they stepped closer to each other ready to strike. The girl made the first move, lunging at the captain with astonishing speed for a girl for a Kote-bu, a hit to the right or left wrist. The captain quickly dodge it and went in for a Do-bu, a hit on the right or left side of the torso careful not to hit her too hard. The girl fell back in shock. She did not seem to expect that her attack would fail. If the captain was a normal kendoist, her attack would have succeeded. However, that captain is above average in speed and technique. Wow¡­ this match is getting more interesting. Both are definitely stronger than average kendoist at the school level. ¡°1 point to Captain! The match will now resume.¡± the referee announced. Both of them went back to their starting position. The girl was more cautious now waiting for the captain to attack instead. They circled each other and bait each other by swinging their shinai slightly but giving no room for an opening for an attack. They suddenly lunge at each other with great speed and their shinai clashed at the centre. Both of them held their ground as they try to push back the opponent. The captain being a guy was much stronger than the girl, so she lost the battle of strength and was push backed. The captain saw an opening when the girl faltered and did another Do-bu, gaining yet another point. ¡°2:0! The match will continue in 2 minutes.¡± the referee announced. The captain of the kendo club said to the girl: ¡° Give up now. You are no match for me.¡± ¡°Even so I will still try my best cause I really want to join this club!¡± The girl shouted back with determination. They both resume their match, this round was very intense. Both of them were not backing down from each other. They went blow to blow, paring each others attack. In terms of speed they were neck to neck. However, in terms of strength, the captain held the upper hand. Each time the captain swing his sword, the impact the girl felt was getting greater and greater as evident by how far she was pushed back each time. But never the less, she gritted her teeth and held her own. She was bent on winning this match! The girl tried a feint, aiming for a hit to the left wrist but is actually going to counter the captain¡¯s block to roll out into a hit to the right side of the torso. However, the captain did not fell for the trick and dodge the Do-bu. The both of them eyed each other waiting for the next move that will decide it all. They clash once again with their shinai, but this time that captain finally released his full strength and hit the shinai out of the girl¡¯s hands. The force causing her to fall back on her back, as she bruised her arm. ¡°Give up now! You are not strong enough to beat me.¡± the captain said at he stared at the girl coldly. The captain is so mean to the girl, maybe I should not join such a club. ¡°Never!!!¡± The girl shouted back with fury as she grabbed her shinai once again. ¡°The match will now resume. You may now begin.¡± the referee announced as he looked at the girl with worried eyes. The girl rush at the captain again with more determination than before, but she was rather reckless too. Both of them are definitely stronger than normal high school students, but if Hikaru was their opponent they would have been beaten rather quickly. Hai...I wonder if it was okay to ditch Hikaru like that¡­ As for the match it was really pitiful and inspiring at the same time. The girl kept on rushing at the captain, but she was just completely pushed back! She fell to her feet numerous times and her eyes were moist with tears. Yet, she refuse to back down. I guess she is really desperate to get into this club. I wish I could have taken her place to fight for her on her behalf. It was a really heart-wrenching to see her like this... Eh I mean my heart goes out to her...in sympathy of course! The captain seems to have enough of this match and quickly did a hit on her right side of her torso again without hurting her. The girl stood there stunned as tears flowed down her rosy cheeks. That captain is a demon! A heartless beast to bully such a cute girl! Eh I mean a NORMAL girl. ¡°3...3:0! The match goes to Captain!¡± the referee announced, as he glared at the captain. The girl fell to her feet in grief. The spectators were all giving the captain cold glares. Even I who was usually very calm, was gravely upset (more like burning with anger) with what the captain has done. I wish I could have taught him a lesson or two with my swords and it won¡¯t be pretty for him! ¡°You may join the club. Go find more girls to join, so that you can enter the regionals.¡± The captain said to the girl as he revealed a small smile. ¡°Kuro! I thought you were so heartless! So you were just a big softie~¡± the referee tease the captain with a smile on his face. ¡°Akira! Stop calling me that and I¡¯m no softie! Go help the girl, I will talk to the teacher.¡± the captain growled out as he walk out the dojo. ¡°Hai! Hai! Kuro- neko!¡± the referee called out behind the captain, as he winked at the girl. That skirt-chaser! Pedophile! Preying on cute, younger girls! Grrrr¡­ ¡°Hello Miss. I¡¯m Akira Uragi, the vice-captain of the kendo club. Let¡¯s get you treated for your wounds.¡± With that Uragi-senpai, helped the stunned looking girl up and accompanied her to the infirmary. The crowd started to disperse seeing that everything turned out alright. The number of sign ups increased due to the commotion caused, as they were awed by the heated match. There were even some girls in the spectators that signed up after being inspired by my girl, just like me. Eh I mean that girl. Egh! Ruka! What is wrong with you today? Well I guess the club seems decent enough, besides that overly stern captain...No harm joining it. Back to the present... Looking back I was rather erm stubborn and in denial about my feelings. That incident was my first impression of Yui-san and the trigger of my obsession with Yui~ eh I mean crush of course. Cough..Cough.. That beautiful girl that stole my heart with her perseverance and determination. She was running through my mind all the time. I just can¡¯t get her out of my mind. Thus, I painted her silhouette, afraid to show anyone who the girl that appears in my painting so frequently is. I¡¯ve been in love with her for two years and I haven¡¯t had the courage to talk to her much less ask her out yet. However, this year will be different! I will ask her out even if my life depends on it! Now how do I go about it?

Chapter 8- I cant believe that I am studying in a game too - Hikaru Chapter 8- I can''t believe that I am studying in a game too - Hikaru Having previously completed 8 hours of sword training in the past few days, Taiyo logged backed into the game. He was immediately teleported into the training centre where he logged out from. ¡°Eghhh my precious time with Ruka! All gone!¡± Taiyo thought as he vented his anger on the scarecrow. Previously during the year 3 farewell, the kendo club members went to Ruka to challenge him to a match, keeping him busy at the family dojo and missing dinner. Hikaru has therefore lost 30 minutes of dinner time with Ruka and he was now being a big baby. Taiyo¡¯s blade slashed at the pitiful scarecrow in rapid motion continuously. He lost track of time as he was solely focused on venting his anger and dissatisfaction on the scarecrow. His skill rapid fury was constantly activated. His slashes were so powerful that they created a gust of wind every time he swung his sword. It was not until he was stopped by the NPC instructor that he realised that he has completed the basic training. ¡°Well done, young chap! You have completed the basic training! Your perseverance and effort is admirable. In recognition of your swordsmanship and effort, I place these twin swords in your hands and hope that they will aid you greatly. You will be able to identify this weapon as it is made for you. You may leave to embark on your journey!¡± the NPC boomed with a loud voice. A pair of beautiful twin daggers appeared in front of Taiyo. They were black translucent blades with crimson engravings on the hilt of the daggers. ¡°Identify!¡± Taiyo said enthusiastically.

This weapon was more than enough to last him till level 80 and beyond. Taiyo no longer has to worry about getting a good weapon. All that he needs to do now is to learn magic and obtain a knight class. The knight class is surprisingly one of the rare classes to obtain in this game due to the unknown requirements needed to unlock it. ¡°Thank you, Sendou-san! Do you know how I might get a knight class?¡± Taiyo asked. Taiyo wanted to become a knight as it is the most versatile class that can learn skill of other classes like blacksmith and apothecary which will be very useful on his travel. However, the most important part is that he will be able to help his beloved Ruka in all areas and maybe Ruka will look up to him like a hero. ¡°You can earn the knight class if you are worthy of it! There is no sure method to get it. You are a bright young chap! I am sure that you will attain it in due time.¡± Sendou- san said, as he returned to the training centre. Left with these cryptic words, Taiyo was clueless and frustrated on what to do in order to earn the knight class, for without it he will not be able to learn multiple skills from different jobs. It was a big huddle to overcome. The requirements of the various classes was a secret undisclosed by Inspire!. It was rumoured to be based on quests completed and skill sets. The best bet for Taiyo to attain the knight class is through completing quest related to saving people or defending villages. However, lacking in magic and defence, these quest are impossible to complete. Having left with no other option, but to learn magic and strengthen his defence, Taiyo needed to learn some spells for attack and defence as good armour and battle gears are still too expensive for Taiyo to pay for with the starting 100 Gold or 100G. To learn spells, intelligence(INT) is needed, each spell has a minimum requirement to meet in order to learn it. ¡°Show Status!¡±

Having ate it for the past few days during the basic training, the novelty of tasting food in a game has worn off. The bread was dry and tasteless. Taiyo was getting very sick of eating it. However, he has more important problems to face like how to raise his INT and his lack of food supplies. Taiyo walked towards the market as he pondered about it. It¡¯s very cheap, sir!¡± the NPC replied joyfully. ¡°I will take 10 loaves of white bread.¡± Taiyo replied after some thought. Bread was the cheapest type of food one can purchase. The other types of food were too expensive for a beginner to eat. Although the other types of bread were cheaper, Taiyo decided to buy white bread. He used his identification skill to compare the satisfaction level of the 3 bread and discovered that white bread can decrease hunger by 10% more than the other two types of bread. Thus, buying white bread will help him to save cost in the long run. As he walked along the streets, he came across a library in the town square which was very peculiar in a game. Why would anyone waste time reading when they can be slaying monsters and levelling up in the game? Just then an idea struck him! In his favourite fanfic, the main character increased his INT by reading books found in the game. Maybe it will work for him too! Taiyo pushed open the wooden doors of the library and entered into the main reading area. The library was practically empty, with the exception of the elderly elf sitting at the front desk. The grey haired elf was deeply engrossed in his work and did not realised Taiyo had entered the building. On the desk of the glasses-wearing elder, was the NPC¡¯s job plate or job title- Head Librarian. Taiyo decided to approach the elf for information. ¡°Hi, can I read the books in here?¡± Taiyo asked the bespectacled head librarian. ¡°EH!...Yes, you may, young man. However, you would require the skill of reading. Reading books in the library is free but borrowing a book for a week requires a fee of 100G. Take your time, young man and enjoy the fun of reading.¡± The grey haired elf smiled and replied after recovering from his initial shock. Visitors were a very rare sight in the library. Taiyo then head over to the section for elves on the second floor. The library was much like his school library with two floors. The first floor was books for Orcs and ghouls, while the second floor is for humans and elves. The library had a European feel to it, with wooden shelves and flooring. The only thing that gave it away that it was in a game was the magic orbs laminating the place. It was a very curious sight to behold. Small fireballs encaged within these transparent sphere that were floating near the ceiling, along the corridors and above the shelves. ¡°I cannot believe I¡¯m studying in a game too! And its the holidays! I thought I will finally have a break after becoming the valedictorian. Hai¡­.Once an honour student always an honour student¡­.Now it¡¯s time to hit the books! Let¡¯s see¡­ magic¡¯s guide, basic sword techniques 101, Elves beautiful but deadly?!¡± ¡°What¡¯s with these books!¡± Taiyo exclaimed in surprise. ¡°While for the time being, there is no harm in reading some of them. Is still need to read enough books to raise my INT to a comfortable amount in order to learn intermediate spells. Chapter 9- The Great Search - Hikaru Author''s note Hi everyone reading this fiction, I sincerely apologise for the unexpected long hiatus. Otherworlds will now release new chapters once every two weeks. I know it is unfair as my chapters are always so short. However, I hope that you will understand and once again, thank you for reading my story. Without further ado, here is the new chapter. Chapter 9- The Great Search - Hikaru ¡°Yawns¡­...¡± I was super tired after burning the midnight oil to read these books. It was ironic that I was yawning while my real body was still sleeping in the gaming pod. When I exit the game, I will feel as if I had woken up from a dream. I can now game while sleeping! Ah...The best invention ever known to gamers! However, whatever went on in the gaming world will still remain in my memory. Although my body is rested, my mind is not. Despite the mental exhaustion caused from reading for the entire night, it was all worth it. The amount of INT gained from reading these books was good, but what took the cake was the secret information hidden in these books including very useful tips. I really striked lottery with this idea. Did you know that I found a book about the various different classes in Otherworlds? I gained a valuable clue about how I am going to achieve my goal of becoming a knight. ...Shhhhhh...I am not going to tell you about it now. It will all be revealed soon. Fuufuufuu... Through this night of reading, I have gained sufficient amount of INT for me to learn mid level to high level water spells and healing spells. However, I was not satisfied with just this much. I want to learn an S rank spell as quick as possible. Although as for how I am going to find such a spell, I am still working on that. Normal shops only sell at best elementary to mid rank spell books. Certain player shops might sell high level spell books but these are super rare. Spell books disappear as soon as a player learns the spell, which makes common spell books expensive and the special and high levels ones cost a bomb. Thus, the only way for me to get those high level spell books is through special quests. Previously, I read various books on magic: how to cast spells quickly, how to learn spells, and the best way to utilise them. Thus, learning and mastering spells will be much easier, but obtaining a high level spell book will still be very difficult. The books about spells have luckily gave me a hint on how to get the books through the special quest in this very library. There is a portal hidden in this library! A portal to the world of wisdom, Sapientia. There is bound to have some really high level spell books there. However, the portal only appears during a particular time of the day and a key is needed to open the portal. As for where to find the key, I am clueless about that. But first things first, I need to read more books to gain enough INT to learn those insanely high level spells. However, I have almost ran out of books in my race¡¯s language. Wow, I read so many books in just one night. Good job, Hikaru! Good job! Now, I am one step closer to becoming the ideal brother to Ruka. ¡°Fuufuufu..¡± I laughed silently to myself, the master plan for Ruka to look up to me is now set into motion. Hmmm...Let¡¯s see...What book should I read next? Elves beautiful but deadly or This novel called <> about some hero? Although I dread it, I picked the book on elves, cause it sounds more useful than the fairy tale. I ploup down on the chair nearby and started to read the book. The library was deafeningly silent. My foot steps and every action echoed around the library. I can even hear me own breathing and my heartbeat loud and clear. It was a bit too quiet to read. After 15 minutes¡­... I have finally completed this book. It was exceptionally boring! There was nothing new in this book that I did not know from reading Otherworld¡¯s website about the different races. You may wonder why did I not just flip through the book to gain INT, instead of painstakingly reading every word of this boring book. I had tried that previously with another boring book. I quickly flipped through the page not reading a single word besides the title and I did not get any INT. I waited like an idiot, staring in space for the message saying intelligence increase by 2 to appear in front of me. When I read a portion of the book skipping a few pages here and there, I gained 1 INT only. Thus, I learned the hard way that I can only gain a maximum of 2 INT for every new book I read. If I flip through, or read any part of that book already, I cannot gain anymore INT. Why? Eight INT wasted just like that! I could have learned a high rank basic spell with that amount of INT! Learning spells uses INT, thus the more powerful the spell is, the more INT is used. In order for me to learn a wide range of spells, I would need at least 5000 INT. One more book left to go. Don¡¯t give up, Hikaru! I open the cover of the book and I saw this silky green bookmark embedded in the pages of this fake book! ¡°NOOOOooooo!!! My 2 INT!¡± I sobbed aloud, earning a death glare from the elderly NPC librarian. ¡°Eh..Haha..Sorrrrry~¡± I apologised to the Head librarian nervously. I picked up the green bookmark and admired the golden pattern on the bookmark. It was a very beautiful and elegant bookmark, the kind my ¡°elegant¡± mum would use. I flipped the bookmark over and the character two was written in gold.

I grinned in realisation of my new discovery. I will be able to gain more INT by reading books from other sections. I quickly went over to the orc and ghoul section to find the exact same book and decipher the code. Like I predicted I have gained the skill to read both orc and ghoul language. The books in all the different sections were all the same. An idea struck me once again! Is the bookmark hidden in the same book in the different sections? I combed the shelves for the book about the hero, however It was no where to be found in any of the other areas. Strange¡­ Where could the other 3 bookmarks be? There is got to be a clue somewhere in this fake book. I stared at the book intently looking for anything that might be a lead to finding the next bookmark. Okay, that was not one of my best ideas¡­ The book was just the container of the bookmark. There was nothing distinctive that could have been a clue. I took out the green bookmark and wonder what the other 3 might look like. The same color with this unique golden pattern on it? Wait a minute¡­ This is not a pattern but a symbol! How blind can I be! It is the exact same symbol on the spine of the book! So now I just need to find this symbol to find the other three remaining bookmarks. A piece of cake, right? Three hour later¡­ ¡°WHERE ARE THOSE BOOKMARKS?!!!¡± I exclaimed in frustration, earning yet another death glare from the elven librarian. I searched all the books and shelves in the library, flipping through every page and reading all those books to not waste away those INT. I searched high and low for the symbol to no avail. I want to pull my hair out and shout out my annoyance. I went to reading area to take a seat, as I was just extremely drained after searching for hours. Just where is that symbol? I stared into space looking at the entire library. Hai...This E rank quest is so difficult. ¡°Thmm! Thmm!Thmm!¡± Hmmm? What¡¯s that sound? ¡°THMM! THMM! THMM!¡± ¡°ANI! WAKE UP!¡± Ruka shouted. Oh no! I¡¯m going to be late for the student council meeting. Ahh.. but it¡¯s nice to be woken up by my brother. ¡°HIKARU!!! GET UP!!¡± Ruka shouted in annoyance. ¡°Log out!¡¯ I quickly said. Back to the real world¡­ As soon as I logged out, I was greeted by an angry-looking Ruka. ¡°Ani! Hurry up! You are going to be late for your meeting.¡± Ruka said while frowning. He was irritated at Hikaru for gaming straight for 8 hours, forgetting about his morning practise with Uncle Tatsuya and his student council duties. ¡°Yes.Yes¡­¡± I replied lazily as I got out of the gaming pod. I dragged myself to the bathroom to get ready for school. I wish I can skip school today...However, it is not very becoming of me as the student council president. ¡°ANI! Hurry up! I¡¯m going to my club practice first! Bye!¡± Ruka shouted from the first floor, as he left the house. The front door slammed shut with a bamm. Ruka is so cruel! How could he leave me behind? I quickly threw on my uniform, grabbed my stuff and ran after Ruka.

Happy Good Friday! Chapter 10 - Sweet Sly Seduction In the student council room¡­ ¡°Stupid president! He is late again for our meeting! And he was the one who called for this meeting on a saturday in the first place!¡± a serious looking girl with a long black ponytail wearing a black thick rim glasses grumbled. ¡°Vice president, calm down. Its only been 5 minutes. Maybe he was held up by the traffic?¡± A brown-haired youth said, as he tried to mediate the situation. ¡°Yamino-kun, stop trying to defend that frivolous president!¡± the vice president snapped back. Yamino smiled awkwardly as he backed away from the fierce looking vice president. ¡°Hi, guys! Sorry, I¡¯m late.¡± Hikaru greeted as he burst through the door, with a sheepish grin on his face. ¡°President! If you cannot wake up so early in the morning, do not call for a meeting in the first place.¡± the vice president told Hikaru sternly. ¡°Yumi-san. Please forgive me. Its just 5 minutes.¡± Hikaru pouted as he said this. ¡°Eghh, fine. Here is your breakfast. I know you have not eaten anything this morning.¡± Yumi replied curtly, as she passed him a bento full of homemade tuna sandwiches, egg mayo sandwiches and nutella sandwiches. ¡°Mmmmm...My favourites! Thanks, Yumi-san!¡± Hikaru said, as he smiled warmly at Yumi. ¡°You¡¯re...eh...Welcomed¡­¡± Yumi replied shyly, as she turned away hiding her blush from Hikaru. The brown haired boy stared at this romantic scene in envy. Hikaru is obviously making Yumi-san blush on purpose. Everyday, a similar scene will occur and he, the secretary will get the front row seats to this romance comedy drama. This routine has been going on for months, it is very obvious that Yumi san likes Hikaru. However, Hikaru¡¯s feelings for Yumi are a big mystery. The meeting continued on for two hours where both Hikaru and Yumi suggested some ideas to benefit the lives of the students and performances for the year-end party. ¡°So is that all Yumi-san and Hikaru-kun?¡± Yamino-kun asked exhausted from the long discussion. ¡°Yup, we are done. Yamino-kun, you may leave first. Yumi-san and I will finish up the rest.¡± Hikaru smiled politely as he said this. Taking this as his cue to leave, Yamino bid goodbye and left the room quickly. Hikaru waited for a moment, making sure that Yamino was truly gone before he set his eyes back to Yumi. ¡°Yumi.¡± Hikaru called as he approached her desk. He looked deeply into her brown eyes as he moved nearer and nearer to her. Yumi blush beet-red, as she slowly backed away from him. This was not the first time Hikaru called her by name.Yumi was still deeply embarrassed by being addressed so intimately by her secret crush. Like a predator stalking his prey, Hikaru moved slickly towards her as he directed a sly smirk at her that set butterflies off in her stomach. Yumi shifted her chair further back till her back was against the wall. Seeing her trapped against the wall and totally different from the normal calm-looking Yumi, made him burst out in laughter. ¡°Hikaru!!!¡± Yumi shouted while beet-red. She glared at Hikaru, as she tried to stand up from her seat. Hikaru just smirked and pushed her back into her seat. ¡°Yumi, you are so cute when you blush. I told you before that I will make you blush more often.¡± Hikaru said he sat in front of her on her desk. ¡°Egh! Hikaru, stop playing around.¡± Yumi snapped back a little annoyed, recalling that he did indeed said that the last time they were alone. Hikaru snatched her glasses and wore them. Hikaru push them up the ridge of his nose with his middle finger like a veteran glasses wearer. The black rimmed rectangular specs made him look twice as handsome and like the tyrant he truly is. ¡°Now. Now. Yumi, please say yes.¡± Hikaru cooed as he smiled suavely at her, making her melt in her seat. ¡°No...Hikaru...Stop¡­¡±Yumi gripped the arm of her chair as she protested weakly. She felt like it was a miracle for her to say no to the guy she loves so deeply. She quickly stood up and walked away, avoiding Hikaru¡¯s gaze. Hikaru immediately jumped to his feet in pursuit of her. Before Yumi could leave her desk, Hikaru cornered her at the wall placing both his hands at the side of her face. Their faces were just 10 inches apart and the distance was shortening every second. Yumi turned her face away in embarrassment. Suddenly, Hikaru leaned in and whispered these words into her ears:¡°Yumi, stop running away. Please say yes, dear~¡± His lips almost touching her ear lobes, making her super aware of how close he is standing next to her. ¡°Ahhh~¡± Yumi moaned slightly shocked by the affectionate address of being called ¡°dear¡± by her love interest. Yumi was being reduced to a mindless drone with that last surprise attack by Hikaru. She could not help but give in and say yes weakly. ¡°Alright! Thanks, Yumi! You are the best.¡± Hikaru smiled and kissed her cheek quickly before gathering his things to leave. Yumi stared at Hikaru in disbelief and shock, as he left the room. She cannot believed that Hikaru just kissed her! She subconsciously touched the spot on her left cheek that was kissed by Hikaru¡¯s soft lips and swooned. She collapsed back onto her chair as she giggled to herself. ¡°Yumi. I forgot to return this to you. Not that you really needed them in the first place.¡± Hikaru said sheepishly, snapping Yumi out of her trance. Hikaru gently place Yumi¡¯s glasses back on. Yumi¡¯s degree was about 100+ with a very mild case of myopia. She could see Hikaru very clearly even if he is standing 5 meters away from her. Without her glasses on, Yumi was even more beautiful. Her hazel brown eyes were no longer hidden by her glasses, making them larger than before.Those black rim spectacles were no longer concealing her beautiful facial features. She was mesmerising without those glasses, not that Hikaru will admit to her. Hikaru was the only one who have seen her without her spectacles on and he wants to remain as the only one who knows about Yumi¡¯s real appearance. Least, he has more competition. Yumi first fell in love with Hikaru when they were in first year of high school. She tried various ways to show hints of her affections to Hikaru, but he seems to be giving her mixed signals. At times, Hikaru can be extremely nice to her, and at certain times he can be very indifferent to her. This made Yumi really confused by Hikaru. Especially today, when Hikaru acted so intimately with her. Calling her by her first name only, being so close to her that if she shivered, his lips would be kissing her ear lobes. ¡°If only I did¡­¡­Oh Hikaru¡­.¡±Yumi murmured dreamily.
Outside the student council room... ¡°I cannot believe I just did that!¡± Hikaru blushed red as he recalled all at embarrassing things he just did to Yumi-san. He slumped down against the wall recalling Yumi¡¯s cute reactions to his seduction. It was indeed unfair for Hikaru to use such tricks to get Yumi to agree, but he had no other choice. After all, the plan has already been set in motion.
Later at night in Otherworlds... Taiyo leaned against the wall of the library underneath the lamp staring at the rainbow fountain in the centre of the square. Having leveled up swiftly from defeating various monsters around Inceptio, Taiyo was no longer dressed in his beginner clothes. He was dressed in full black with his new drops from defeating the band of black wolves in the nearby forest of ash. Taiyo looked extremely cool in his new outfit with his black leather boots, black pants, black shirt and shiny black arm guards with red stripes at the end that covered his entire forearm till his elbow showing only his fingers. His outfit was complete with black armour coat with buckles around his neck and waist. The coat was a rare drop from defeating the black wolves¡¯ boss which was not easy to defeat. Taiyo spent the whole afternoon leveling up and spent half an hour trying to defeat the black wolves¡¯ boss after hearing a rumour that the drop is this cool black coat. He has someone that he had to impress no matter what. Standing in the moonlight, Taiyo looked liked a dark angel as he stared at the crescent moon in the purple night sky filled with countless stars. It was a very beautiful night, not many people were in this part of town, beside some couples on a night stroll. The noisy town square at night was transformed into a dating hot spot featuring the beautiful fountain lighted up with various colours with the starry night sky as its backdrop. ¡°Where is she?¡± Taiyo grumbled annoyed as he tries to ignore the lovey-dovey atmosphere in the air. He felt very out of place in this lovers environment as a lone male. Taiyo could not help but be jealous of them. He had been waiting for her for the last 30 minutes and he was very frustrated. ¡°Sorry for the wait...¡± A cute girl apologised as she tried to catch her breathe. She was wearing a white kimono top tucked into her red pleated, short skirt paired with black boots and black socks that reached her mid thigh. The girl has large brown deer eyes and full lips that make men want to kiss her senseless. She was dressed very differently from her usually conservative knee long skirt and dull black glasses. However, Taiyo recognised her from first sight. ¡°Yumi¡­¡­¡± Taiyo breath out in a daze. He wanted to pinch himself to see if he was dreaming. His quiet and conservative Yumi was dressed so sexily and cute. His anger dispersed the moment he saw Yumi. ¡°Call me Yuyi in the game. So¡­ How do I look?¡± Yumi blushed as she made a turn for Taiyo to see. ¡°You...look nice.¡± Taiyo replied, blushing slightly as he looked everywhere but at her. ¡°Look at me, Hikaru!¡± Yumi pouted as she said this. Taiyo had no choice but to look at her directly, revealing his blushing face. Yuyi smiled secretly to herself knowing that her new look bothers Hikaru so much. Although it was still embarrassing to wear such a short skirt, it was worth it to get a bit of revenge on Hikaru. As Hikaru was trying to avoid Yuyi''s gaze, He noticed some of the men in the town square were openly checking out Yuyi (Yumi) and looking at her with lust. Taiyo was getting a bit frustrated, as Yumi was completely oblivious to their malicious intentions. Taiyo could not stand Yumi being the fantasy of other man and grabbed her hand possessively and pulled her into the library... To be continued...

I did not want any other guy looking at Yuyi lecherously. Those lusty wolves were seizing Yuyi up as if she was an easy snack. The system should have given them a penalty for their immoral behaviour. I was tempted to beat them up just for looking at Yuyi. They were staring at her butt and her long beautiful legs. Yuyi is just too oblivious to her surroundings like usual. She is too defenseless, I am worried that some other wolf will come and devour her. Haii...Baka Yumi! Why must you show off your legs? Show them to me only. I could not stand it any more. Where?! Where did you get this?¡± Yuyi exclaimed in surprise. ¡° Even the boots! I never knew you like Shadow too!¡± Yes, I cosplayed for the girl I like. I cosplayed as her favourite character, as I was jealous of him. She always fan-girl over his image and re-watch all episodes and parts where Shadow appears. Yuyi would squeal every time he say some cheesy line like ¡°You are my one and only¡± or ¡°My love for you is too much for me to bear¡± and when that 2 Dimensional character smiles, she swoons and collapse in her seat! She never had that reaction when I smile at her! GRR... ¡°But I look better than him right?¡± I purposely smirked, hiding my anger. If Yuyi says no, I do not know what will I do. Perhaps, tear all her posters of Shadow and delete all her picture of him. The quest is to find all 4 bookmarks to get the key to the portal of Sapientia (the world of wisdom). I have already found one. She took the bookmark cautiously and examine it. ¡°So we are suppose to look for bookmarks that look similar to this one?¡± Yuyi said uncertainly. ¡°Yes. So let¡¯s get started! You take the 2nd floor and I¡¯ll take the first.¡± I replied. Yuyi nodded and move towards the staircase, admiring the beautiful setting for the magical library. As Yuyi made her way up the stairs. I purposely moved underneath the transparent glass steps. I pretended to be searching a shelf but in reality I was actually looking up her skirt. Call me a pervert but hey I am a hot blooded male. As she got closer and closer, my eyes were glued to her slender upper thigh. As Yuyi moved closer and closer till she is directly above me. NOOoooooo. She was wearing shorts underneath her skirt! I was extremely disappointed. Hai¡­. Back to the search. After 30 Minutes¡­ ¡°Hikaru!!! Oh. I mean Taiyo, I found something!¡± Yuyi shouted excitedly. ¡°Where?¡± I exclaimed as I ran up the stairs. ¡°Look here!!¡± Yuyi lifted up a chair and pointed to the floor. I stared at the place she was pointing at. ¡°I don''t see anything.¡± I replied. ¡°Come closer. Don''t you see an outline here.¡± Yuyi bend down and lift off this square wooden plank that was camouflaged by the wooden flooring. Yuyi reached in and took out a red bookmark with a different gold pattern on it and pass it to me. ¡°Identify!¡± I said eagerly.

Bet that I can find the bookmark faster than you!¡± Yuyi huffed. ¡°So what do you want to bet, my dear?¡± I smiled mischievously. ¡°Winner get one wish granted by the loser.¡± Yuyi said confidently. ¡°You sure...??¡± I questioned her as I licked my lips on purpose.
