《The Summoned Giant》


 Prologue | Summoning + Race Change?

    Hello, my name is Rai Kanazome and you could say I am unpopular... more on the lines of only having one friend *sob* poor me *sob*. Now if you are wondering why, well it¡¯s simple... I am what you would call a giant, not a literal one mind you, but a taller than average male and calling me a giant is easier than that. If you are thinking that I am probably just taller than average then you would be royally wrong, I am 2 meters and 50 centimeters tall. Yes, 8 foot 2 inches tall. I have been told by family that I have a quite handsome face and with my unusual white hair and dark blue eyes you could say if I was a normal person I would be quite popular. But because of my unusual height nobody notices my looks and seeing as nobody can think of anything about me but being a giant, I also get rid off as an idiot, couple that with being overweight will get you very minuscule friends.


    But this is where everybody is wrong, I am not overweight but actually wear what I call my <fat suit> it basically just makes it look like I am bigger for my height, also it is made of heavy materials so I just count it as training gear. I also have an <eidetic memory> and because of that remember everything I hear, see, feel, taste and smell because of this I could easily get full marks on all tests up to university level but I fake my grades to be average. Now you are probably wondering why I would pretend to be overweight and fake my grades, simple, I don''t want to stand out. I am also standing out enough being a giant, I don''t need to be a genius giant that can crush rocks.


    Oh, I haven''t mentioned I am currently 18 years old and in my last year of high school. I am also half Japanese from my father being Japanese and my mother being American. They met on one of fathers business trips. But I guess they aren''t really important anymore, seeing as I am now stuck in another world...

    The day started out as usual, waking up at 6 am and then training for an hour and then doing my basic morning deeds (shower, breakfast, etc.). I then get ready in my fat suit and my all black school uniform with a white shirt under the jacket and then I head to school at 7:45 to arrive before 8. When I arrive at school driving my off road SUV (Nissan Patrol), parking close to the building. Like always as I am walking inside I am being stared at by the students that attend here and when I enter the main building door I have to duck quite low to get in, luckily the hallways are quite high otherwise I would have to crouch all day. I head to class and sit down on my <special chair>, it¡¯s made out of steel, unlike everyone which are regular stack-able chairs.


    While waiting for class to start my only friend in the school Mary White walks over, Mary is about 5 foot tall, has waist length blond hair, green eyes and to me she looks like a porcelain doll but she is my only friend and the only person apart from my homeroom teacher who knows the truth about my grades and weight. You are probably wondering if Mary is my childhood friend or something, well no until this year she stayed away from me but that changed after she saw me shirtless in the male changing room, you probably think she was peeping or something but she said that the females was shut and the teacher said I would be changing in the bathroom so she could use this room to change quick. After she saw me she asking if I was willing to tell her why I hide what I really look like and after explaining everything we seemed to hit it off and have been friends ever since. My teacher knows because I used to have lunch in her office since I started high school up until I met Mary, she found out the same way as Mary, by accidentally seeing me shirtless in her office (I was allowed to use it to change into a suit).


    MC - "Morning Mary."


    Mary - "Morning Rai, how was your morning?"


    MC = "Alright, I had pancakes today, you?"


    Mary - "What a coincidence, so did Mary!" *smiles*


    Oh yeah, Mary likes to talk in third person...


    While we were talking I notice Darian Knox looking over at us talking (Mary sits next to me) and I believe what I see in his eyes is envy, its well-known that Darian likes Mary but she hates him. Darian is what you would typically call a playboy, he has blond hair, blue eyes and is overly handsome and to top it off he isn''t a giant. He has tried seducing her countless times but never works. Because of this he finds the need to take it out on me so he loves to insult me.


    While talking with Mary time flies and our homeroom teacher walks in, her name is Lyn Ellen and she is about 35 years old but looks about 25, she has black hair and blue eyes like myself but hers are a bit brighter blue. She is also short like Mary and I get along with her well. Just as everyone sits down and gets ready to start homeroom a giant flash blinds me and I expect everyone else.


    Next thing I knew I am stood in what I guess I should call a throne room? And there are three people sat on the thrones in front of us, while I was looking around I notice Mary next to me and she seems to be having a panic attack, I put my hand on her shoulder to calm her down and she soon does. Although I said my hand, it was more like some of my hand... I have large hands and have to use specially bought pens otherwise they would be too small or break.


    After I calmed down Mary I looked around again and noticed tones of medieval knights stood around us and then I noticed what happened, it¡¯s the stuff I read in my fantasy books... we were summoned to another world. I then noticed that not everyone was human like the guards and the guy on the middle throne because the people either side of him was a female with pointy ears and a male with scales on his body and on his tail... tail? He seems to look like what I would call a draconian? Not sure, but then I also notice that Mary looks different... She has cat ears and a tail. Her ears and tail were blond like her hair and it seems like some of my classmates are the same, some with pointed ears, some look a bit shorter than before, some with different kind of ears and tails and I think I saw someone who had fairy wings? I then check myself and I seem different as well, instead of like the others who had just the ears and tail I appear to have gained fur on my body as well and the weirdest thing! I have legs like the back legs of a cat. It also appears that my fur is also the same as my hair colour and I even have some black donuts around so I think I might be a snow leopard? Maybe? I also notice my senses are better than before... weird?


    While I was thinking of this I hear a *clap* from the man on the middle throne and he stands and starts to speak. The man is quite overweight and has blond hair and blue eyes, he also is wearing really expensive looking jewelry and white clothes.


    ??? - "Welcome all, I am Arthur Vonhil and I am the king of the <Human Kingdom>, this is Louse Forhil and she is the Queen of the <Fae Kingdom> and this is Dragul Drag-heart and is the king of the <Beast Kingdom>. We are here today to welcome you summoned beings as the <Heroes> to fight against the <Demon King> and his <Demon Lords> that rule over the <Demon Kingdom>."


    As he finishes I notice Darian walk forward and gets down on one knee.


    Darian - "My name is Darian Knox and I would be happy to become one of your <Heroes> as long as I can get some training and weapons!"


    Teach - "Darian what are you saying? This isn''t fun and games! We need to get home!"


    Some of class - "Yeah!"


    King Arthur - "Sadly it is impossible for you to leave, the summoning magic we used is one way and there have never been cases of a hero going home. All heroes that survived lived until they died naturally. But rest assured, anyone unwilling to fight can have other jobs and will live a good life here! Oh and you need not worry about your past world affairs, anyone who remembers you will forget about you and they will believe that they never had you."


    Darian - *silence* "Well, I for one am going to help fight! Anyone who also wants to should join me over here." *points to the left*


    For the next minute or two everyone starts moving to the right or left, except me and Mary (23 left and 5 right).


    Everyone was looking at me puzzled because I hadn''t chosen a group. When the people who summoned us notice me they seem to break into a cold sweat, I would too if I was their size.


    King Arthur - "Are you not going to choose a group Sir Hero?"


    MC - "Well I am not interested in either group, I would rather just get given some stuff to help me out and then I will be on my way."


    King Arthur - "Oh, if that is all then I understand, what about you Lady Heroes?"


    Mary - "Mary will stick with Rai *points at me* Mary thinks Rai is Mary¡¯s best way for survival out here and probably will be the only person to properly look after Mary."


    I blush a little at her words and Darian seems angry at this.


    Darian - "Why would you be safe with a fat and stupid guy like him? All he could do is intimidate people with his size!"


    Mary - *giggle* "Rai, why don''t you finally take of the <fat suit>? Mary doesn¡¯t think it matters anymore!"


    I then take off my jacket and shirt and everyone sees a zip up suit on my upper body, I then take it off and everyone sees my full body for once. I have very defined muscles along with an eight pack. It also seems that I have fur all over my body and Mary said that my face has changed some as well ''I hope not too much''. My fur is full white with large black circles over it with the centre missing, kind of like donuts. I also have a 4 foot 9 inches long and about the diameter of half a foot. So I have quite the meaty tail but it appears to be more fur than muscle.


    I assume I am a type of leopard probably a snow leopard. One other noticeable feature would be that my legs have changed to the same as a snow leopards as in their bone structure has changed, after my knee the bone changes to the same as the back legs of a snow leopard or how most cats would be like. They changed so that they are better for jumping or quick speed bursts. I also have sharp nails on both my hands and feet/paws for slashing I would guess.


    I then hear some *gasps*, it was obvious this was going to happen because it¡¯s not like they have seen me shirtless other than now and there is the fact I am a walking cat now, it could also the shoe scraps on the floor but who can be certain. Mary hands back my shirt and jacket and I put them on, they are a bit large for me but I will get new clothes from this King later.


    Once everyone regains the senses they start sprouting crap about me not trusting my classmates with this secret, I started to get angry and I think Mary noticed because she grabbed my sleeve.


    MC - "QUIET!"

    *Silence*, it was obvious they were going to quiet down when I shouted that loud, it¡¯s also probably the only time I have spoken when not to Mary or Lyn and if I say so myself I have a quite deep voice.


    MC - "What did you expect me to do when just with my height alone everyone is scared of me but if you saw my constitution too? You would probably start rumors about me killing people for fun. I added the suit to try and tone down a bit but even then you guys were still scared of me."


    *silence*


    King Arthur - *cough* "Well, I respect your decision you two but I would prefer if you still took part in the <Status Card> ceremony and stayed here the night so we can attend to some money and weapons to give you tomorrow."


    I just nod at that and he seems to calm down a little, although I am getting a weird look from the Queen? What is that? I can''t tell the look in her eyes... I also notice Darian staring at me with hatred in his eyes and even leaking a bit of killing intent (I can notice killing intent because of my training I did with my grandfather in the mountains, will talk more about this is the future).


    King Arthur - "Archmage, bring in the status orb!"


    ??? - "Yes sir!"


    I turn to my left and notice a man with pointy ears wearing a robe of blue and a wizard hat also blue walk over with a clear orb in his hands. When he gets in-front of the King he introduces himself as Zollverein Forhil, the <Fae Kingdoms> <Archmage> and then asks for someone to come over and try the orb and get the <Status Card>. Darian volunteers and walks up and puts his hand on the orb, he shows a pained expression and then it goes back to normal and during that time the orb also shining a bright white and then returns to normal. Zollverein then grabs the card that comes out and asks if he can show it to everyone so they know what it will look like, Darian agrees and this is what it looked like.

    Zollverein ¨C ¡°I will now explain some things relating your <Status Card> real quick:


    1. To take your status card out say <Open Status> and to put it away say <Close Status>, once you do that the <Status Card> will return to your body.


    2. To look at certain things in more detail, for example a skill, you just need to click the name on your <Status Card>.


    3. To show your identity say <Open Status> and then <Show Basic Status> and it will show a basic status that only consists of name, level, guild, guild rank, fame and infamy


    4. You aren¡¯t allowed to force someone to show you their <Status Card> and if someone tries to make you, you can tell a guard and said person can get a heavy fine.


    That¡¯s basically it. Can everyone else come up one by one and repeat what they just saw, but you won¡¯t need to show your <Status Card>.¡±


    After that everyone went up one by one till only us two.


    Anyway, I tell Mary that we shouldn¡¯t show ours to anyone until we get to a private place where it¡¯s just the 2 of us. She agrees and we start heading up, I noticed she didn¡¯t even look at her card and just close it once she get it. When it¡¯s my turn I go up and quickly retrieve my card and close it, it kind of feels like energy is coming into me when I close it.


    King Arthur ¨C ¡°Now that everyone has their cards I have to tell you we weren¡¯t expecting 30 heroes and only prepared 10 four bed bedrooms. I hope you can arrange who will sleep where once we all eat. Also we three and our families have prepared gifts for you all! Come in!¡±


    Once he shouts the doors to our left opens and women in maid outfits come in caring male and female clothing and jewelry... The girls instantly notice the clothing and jewelry and the men start ogling the girls.


    King Arthur ¨C ¡°We have 20 women here, one for each male and some spares if the females want a maid and also clothing and jewelry for both males and females so take your pick and the guards will head towards the dining hall. The women will be bound to you via slave contracts so you can order them to do what you want and they will be your maids in the future.¡±


    I instantly notice a girl smaller than the rest that looks around 8 years old with blood red hair in pigtails, red eyes and is about 4 foot tall and is wearing a maid outfit, she also has bunny ears on her head and a small fuzzy tail. I notice one of the guys in the group looking at her lustfully, so I use the energy I felt earlier in my body to get a speed boost and instantly grab the girl and reappear with the girls and put her down with us. You may be wondering how I used this new energy, thats because it feels like <ki> from earth but is probably the new energy called <mana>. Mary look at me as if I am some sort of scum.


    MC ¨C ¡°I noticed one of the guys looking at her with lust and worried for her safety with her, I only grabbed her to keep her safe. She¡¯s like what? 8? Imagine what one of the boys will do with her as their slave. Hey little one, could you tell me your name and age?¡±


    ??? ¨C ¡°So cool, Mr Giant Kitty is so big! Ah, sorry Sir Hero, please forgive me. My name is Isabel and I am 10 years old. Thank you for not letting that man choose me from earlier¡±


    MC ¨C *pats head* ¡°That¡¯s alright, I will be sure to look after you so while with us act as if we are elder brothers and sisters!¡± *smiles*


    Isabel ¨C ¡°Okay Big Brother.¡± *blush*


    Mary ¨C ¡°Mary thinks that was nice of you Rai, Mary wishes she could have some new clothes though.¡±


    MC ¨C ¡°Sorry, I wish I could let you but I am not sure how much I trust a Kingdom with slavery, what if the items had some weird magic on them. Once we leave and earn some money I will be sure to let you buy what you like.¡±


    Mary ¨C ¡°Thank you¡± *smile* *blush*


    MC ¨C ¡°Oh yeah, have you all seen how weird I look now! I don¡¯t even have regular legs anymore!¡± *ha-ha*


    Mary ¨C ¡°I noticed, I think it suits you though.¡±


    MC ¨C ¡°Thanks* *blush*


    After that we talked for a few minutes until a mage came forward with a scroll and told me to put our blood on it together and then place the scroll where the mark will be. To be sure I read through the scroll carefully and it says that once the scroll is used she will no longer be the Kingdoms slave but mine. I would have preferred her just joining us but I guess this is necessary. I used my new sharp nails to get some blood from both me and Isabel and then put the mark on her wrist like she asked me to.


    After that we all left to eat and I made sure to let Isabel sit with me and eat as well even though some of the guards and the two kings looked at us with disgust, probably sharing a table with a slave wasn¡¯t their favourite thing. I did notice though that the Queen was looking at us with compassionate eyes.


    After dinner when we were heading to a hallway on what appears to be the top floor of this castle (knights told us this was a castle) we ended up in a hallway with 10 doors. Everyone started talking among themselves where they will sleep. I told the two girls that we will be sharing a room whether they like it or not, they agreed but said I have to stay in my bed all night.


    MC ¨C ¡°We three will be using this room here, closest to the exit if you got a problem I will break your head.¡±


    No one spoke until we all were in the room and the door shut. Once we were inside Mary asked why I spoke like that, I said that they would have argued especially Darian and they said fine but I shouldn¡¯t threaten them next time. I selected one of the beds in the centre of the room and Isabel chose the one to my right and Mary to the left. We then decided to have our first of many meetings to talk about our <Status Card>, so we got around mine and Isabel¡¯s bed to talk. But as I sat down the bed started to creak and then the legs snapped¡­ After that we broke into a fit of laughter and just shrugged it off. With that we took out our <Status Card> and started to go over them ourselves.

 Prologue Edit!

    Hello Everyone, sorry for no updates but I decided to re-write some of the prologue and the several chapters I have written. I hope you like the re-written prologue and give me any feedback here rather than on the prologue chapter.


    I also changed how I will do the <Status Cards> and will only talk about the persons skills if part of Rai''s group. The skills will also not be level-able but rather can just be used and trained to use less mana (even though it is not shown as a number anymore) and can be trained to use in smaller firepower, an example would be a small fireball and large fireball, once the skill is obtained you cant level it but you can change the input of mana and power of the flame.

 Chapter 1 | Status Cards

    I was about to check my status when I remembered that I needed to check out my appearance and so I decided to check out the room at the same time. Funnily enough for rooms meant for <Heroes> they are quite basic with 4 wardrobes, 4 beds, and a bathroom. The bathroom even has a working toilet but seems to work with some kind of water magic, same as the sink. Other than that it¡¯s just a window above each bed and the door opposite them. While in the bathroom I checked the mirror above the sink or what I think is a mirror, it seems like it is a slab of rock rather than a regular mirror.


    I looked in the mirror to check my appearance and was deeply shocked, I hadn''t even felt much of a different on my face other than the fur but now I notice I pretty much have turned into a humanoid snow leopard, even my face is more feline like.

    After checking myself out for a while I head back to my bed, on the way I start to think about if it was possible to change back to being human or if this is what I need to get used to. Me feeling slightly silly decide to see if I can. I start to think of myself changing back to human and how I would normally look... Nothing happened at first so I tried using a bit of that energy and started flowing it through me and tried again and suddenly I felt like a quarter of that energy was gone and I had a slightly painful feeling on my body that felt like someone was scratching me. I tried shutting my eyes because of the light in my eyes and after calming down I get ready to open my eyes.


    *gasp* I heard a gasp and quickly open my eyes and check to see what they were looking at... me? I went to check my hands and notice the sharp nails and fur was gone. I run back to the bathroom and notice I am human again... WHAT! How did this happen? I am human again? WHAT?


    Okay calm down... *inhale* *exhale* I head back and tell the girls what happen and they suggest it might be an ability, and then Mary suggested showing their <Status Cards> to each other since they have already seen theirs, I accept and this is what it looks like for Mary and Isabel:

    We then started to make guesses with some of Isabels <Mamma''s> knowledge as she called it and found what her skills did.


    <All Elemental Magic Affinity> mean''t that it was possible to use all the basic elemental magic if you were above 10% affinity in each of the 4 affinities(fire, water, wind and earth) but would require chanting to use the magic. The higher the affinity from 10%-100% would mean how powerful magic of that type you could use. For example 10%+ could only use basic but 35%+ could use intermediate, etc. You could still use magic is below 10% but could only use extremely basic magic like <Spark> which would help with camp fires.


    <Complex Magic> mean''t that you could mix magics if you have the affinity for the both, for example with water and wind and the right affinity you could make a <Water Tornado> which is just a <Tornado> with water involved.


    <Fire Magic Manipulation> and <Wind Magic Manipulation> mean''t that you could use that magic with chanting. Some people still uttered the magics name for help imagining what it would look like. For example instead of using a chant like "Fire I call on these, burn in a ball, <Fireball>" you could just create a <Fireball> or just say "<Fireball>". The same applies to <Wind Magic Manipulation>. You would still require having a high enough affinity to be able to cast certain magic but it would make mage vs. mage fights easier on who had the <Magic Manipulation> skill.


    <Language Comprehension> is apparently something everyone in this world has where every humanoid can converse in the other humanoids language. That is why we could understand the King even though he was speaking this worlds <Human Language>.


    Finally the one we found the most interesting is <White Fire Magic Manipulation> and from what we can guess it is exactly the same as <Fire Magic Manipulation> except it produces a hotter and brighter flame. Like when you can extra oxygen to a fire it would get hotter, this magic naturally starts at white hot.


    After we had seen hers Isabel passes hers to Mary and then gets a weird look and passes it to me.

    Isabel - *Starts to count on her fingers* "Mamma said that our race have always been close combat fighters and hunters, Mamma said our race is called Blood Humans because we are a mutated version of humans that can only use blood magic. Mamma also said that I am apart of Blood Human Royalty which means I am naturally stronger and can control blood magic without chanting. The Infamy is high because after Mamma and Papa died I couldn''t train my blood magic and sometimes I lose control and enter <Blood Berserk> because of this I hurt a lot of people until the <Human Kingdom> captured me and made me a slave. Even being a slave they couldn''t control the <Blood Berserk> so they were going to gift me to you <Heroes>."


    MC - *Contemplating* "Hmm, interesting. To think they even enslaved royalty... Hmm... I think I might understand why the other King and Queen didn''t really interact during the meeting but I need knowledge to be sure. Anyway, I should be able to control you if you go <Blood Berserk> again and luckily we aren''t fighting in the war with the other <Heroes> so you are quite lucky." *smiles*


    Isabel - "Nn? You aren''t? I thought you were one of the <Heroes>?" *Tilts head*


    Mary - "Mary and Rai are <Heroes> but Rai doesn''t want to participate in the war and Mary feels safer with Rai. Therefore Mary choose to stay with Rai and Rai said we will leave here in a couple of days and explore this world." *Smiles*


    MC - "Exactly, hopefully they have something like an <Adventurers Guild> so we can earn money that way and maybe find some things to do to pass the time and live a life here. If we have to stay here long enough a base of operations might be a good idea... Also maybe more comrades in the future... Also if there are things like dungeons in this world things could get interesting... Meh, we''ll get to it when we get to it."


    After the little talk we get on to ask her what everything does and apparently this is what it is like for her skills.


    <Blood Magic Manipulation> like the other <Magic Manipulations> is where she can control blood magic without chanting.


    <Blood Slow> and <Blood Enhance> is exactly what it sounds like. <Blood Slow> lets her slow down her or her target if she has access to the blood, so she first has to hurt the target but she can manipulate her blood whether she is hurt or not. <Blood Enhance> is the opposite where she can enhance herself to make her faster or stronger. She can also use it to make her targets mess up their charge buy making them faster for just a moment and loose momentum.


    <Blood Weapon> lets her make a weapon out of her own blood or her enemies blood but like with the other skills she needs access to the blood first and she can''t take the blood directly from the enemy it has to have already left their body. But she can make a small cut on herself and then draw her blood from it as a weapon. The weapon will have the the vitality of whosoever blood makes the weapon as its sharpness. So if someone with extremely high sharpness made the blood weapon she could cut through things extremely easier.


    <Blood Berserk> is again what it sounds like. When she is during combat she can activate it (she can''t control it and sometimes activates on its own) and then will loose 50% of her thinking power making her attack more wildly but in return she gains 25% extra strength and agility. This normally lasts for 5 minutes or until she runs out of magic or if she stops herself.


    <Limit Break> allows her to enhance her strength and agility by 30% for 1 minute in exchange for 25% of her magic supply. <Swordplay> is just there as a reminder to show she is at least basic in swordsmanship.


    And finally <Blood-thirst>. She said she doesn''t quite understand it herself but it is like when she is in battle she excludes a pressure from herself that everyone around her feels and if they are targets and are the same or weaker in strength they will start to loose strength and agility. Sort of like making them feel fear from her.


    I pull out my <Status Card> and mutter "Status Open" and it open up and this is what it displays:

Aren''t I basically a monster? Why would she look at me like that if I am a monster? Wait, it might be because thats how everyone sees her... Hmm. Well, I will figure it out later.


    Mary - "Mary should have expected something like this but to think you are this much stronger than the <Heroes> official <Hero>, hahaha. If they all saw this their faces would make Mary laugh uncontrollably!"


    Isabel - "Big Brother is so powerful, I will be sure to be useful to Big Brother!" *pumps fist in the air*

    MC - "Well, if they have something similiar to the <Adventurer''s Guild> we spoke about earlier we should be fine with our strengths. Anyway, we should probably head to sleep to not wake up too late tomorrow! Good night."
