《Eliminator》 Chapter 0: Prologue Raymond Archer grew up in an orphanage ever since his parents died when he was 2 years old. There were no known relatives to take Raymond in, so the child protection agency had to give up Raymond to the orphanage. Raymond was a hardworking child. Not only was he hardworking, but gaining knowledge had always interested him. The orphanage would "home school" the children living there. And Raymond was eager to learn. If Raymond wasn''t studying, he would be helping out around the orphanage. He did not expect any sort of rewards since he was doing it from the bottom of his heart. If there was no one to help, he would just train his body. He had believed that him having a strong and agile body would enable him to help people faster and efficiently. As a result for helping anybody in need, Raymond was accepted by everybody. He never had any troubles with the older kids in the orphanage. And the neighbors that they had had always accepted the work that Raymond offered them. As another result, he was accepted throughout their neighborhood. At the age of 16 Raymond, or Ray, as everyone had called him; grew up to be a fairly nice looking man. He had a height of 5.9 Ft (about 180 cm) He had a short slicked backed hair, which he was proud of. His hair was dark brown, almost black actually. He had a clean handsome face. He had a well built body as a result from all his training. He had a fairly light skin tone, he wasn''t tanned nor was he pale. Women would instantly admire him, but not to the point where women would throw themselves at him. At age 17, Ray left the orphanage to join the the U.S. Army. Ray did not have a proper education, but Ray was a smart guy. Even though he was "home schooled" at the orphanage, he had gotten his GED at the age of 16. Since Ray had A GED and he had a well built body. He was more than qualified to enlist in the army. Ray passed the Basic Combat Training with flying colors. Ray was now eligible for benefits, which he fully took advantage of. After 2 years in the military, Ray has gotten all that he needed from the military, knowledge, strength, perseverance and will power. Ray had only one challenge left that he promised himself that he would complete. And that is to become a United States Army Ranger. 2 months of grueling and nasty training, Ray persevered and finished Ranger School. After being in the Army, Ray was eligible for scholarships at some fairly decent Universities, they weren''t Harvard or Yale or high end Universities like that, but the scholarships that he received were fairly close. Raymond enrolled and got a full scholarship at new college focused on Virtual Reality "StrawMat University" The university was solely focused on Virtual Reality. "Square One" wasn''t the first virtual reality however. Virtual reality first came out five years ago. Its usage were somewhat limited, they were mainly used for interacting with other people in Virtual reality and for playing simple board games like chess and backgammon and what not. So the "Egg" which was the device that lets you connect to virtual reality, was cheaper than most people expected. So almost anyone can get their hands on the "Egg" as the name implies, its shaped like an egg big enough so that a person can fit in. Inside would be a very comfortable bed in which the person lays in and headgear on which the person puts on. 2 more weeks until classes at his university started. Ray, which got a decent amount of money from his 2 years, almost 3 years at the army, rented an apartment near his university, which the army payed for 2 years. after that, Ray was on his own. He had to provide his own provisions of course like food, water and clothing''s. "Square One" had always peeked his interests ever since it came out a year ago. And since he was enrolling in a school fully dedicated to Virtual Reality, and since playing "Square One" was the latest trend. Ray had to purchase an "Egg" and the game "Square One" He slipped inside the egg, an equipped his headgear. A young man''s voice then came, not deep, but not high pitched either, it was a calm tone that had told him "Retina scan shows that this is the first time you have used the ''Egg''. Would you like to register?" "Yes" Ray answered "Registration Complete, would you like a tutorial on how to operate inside the ''Egg''?" asked the voice. "No, Please connect me to ''Square One''". Im really new at this, so I''m not sure how the table works entirely works. so yeah. bear with me Chapter One: Square One, A new Beginning "Welcome to Square One, a scan on your retina has determined that you are not a registered user of Square One. Would you like to register" A sweet female voice could be heard saying these words. Ray was mesmerized from hearing the sweet voice of a woman, Ray never had any experience with girls; he had female friends, but still, anyone would be mesmerized from the sweet voice. "Yes please" Ray answered after he snapped out of his daze. "Please wait one moment while our system scans your brain for bonus traits." In Square One, you can gain additional bonus stats and attributes depending on your real life experience. An average person would have a starting stat of 10 on everything. "We have finished scanning your brain. Please choose a race." "What are the races available?" Ray asked "There are currently 5 available races available, which are; Human, Elf, Dwarf, Undead, and Demi Human. Available races will be unlocked if certain requirements are met for example, A rank quest and above have some chances to unlock additional races. Or in game events that the "AI" will throw at players." The unique thing about Square One is that there are no bonus stats for choosing a certain race, this makes the playing field even. This also allows players to choose a race that they are most comfortable with without loosing and bonuses. "Can I please have an image on what I would look like for each of the races?" 5 realistic dolls then appeared out of the blue. All of the dolls closely resembled Ray. He thought for a good 5 minutes before deciding on what race he would play. ''It would be weird seeing myself not being human'' Ray thought "Human please" Ray finally said 4 of the 5 dolls vanished, leaving only one doll that was a exact replica of Ray. "You can alter your appearance on however you see fit. You cannot however change your gender." "I will keep my current appearance, however can you please add a little bit of length of my hair, and make it slicked back please, and make it look natural if possible." Ray had to have a clean shaved head when he joined the army, so he missed his old hairstyle. Of course he needed a gel of some sort to keep it slicked back, however since this was a game, it was possible to make it look like a natural slicked back hair. "Very well" the sweet calm voice said "Is your decision final? You cannot change your appearance once you finalize. You can temporarily change your appearance in game through shape shifting magic or by drinking a special potion. There are barbers on almost all towns and cities, so you can change your hair there." "Yes, finalize appearance." Ray excitedly said, he was eager to play Square One. "Please select a starting kingdom" In Square One, If you are a new player, once you select a kingdom, you will be automatically sent to the kingdoms "Beginner Training Grounds" where depending on your actions would set your class. So if you wanted to be a warrior type class, you do things related to being a warrior. etc... Of course you can change your class later on through job advancements and through special quests that might give unique classes. Stolen content alert: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences. There are 4 starting kingdoms, however there are other kingdoms available to visit and represent when you travel around the world. The starting kingdoms are Chronos, Radun, Isris, and Siga. Ray had decided to start at the Kingdom Chronos because it was surrounded by the other 3 starting kingdoms, he had thought that this mean that there would be war from ever corner of Chronos. And Ray was not wrong. War was always present at Chronos. "Chronos please" Ray said "Please choose a name for your avatar, due to the amount of people playing Square One, Repeat names are available." Due to having 100 million players playing Square One when it came out, and now almost 150 million and still rising. Repeat names were available, they were just given a different serial code to their name. This is to prevent people from having people numbers on their names, and special characters were not allowed. You can still however choose to add numbers to your name, but it would look ridiculous. "Scout" Ray chose the name Scout because when he was in the army, that was his nickname. During live drill practices, Ray would be the one to advance and scope out the area without being seen or heard. "Very well, Welcome to Square One, where you start from the very building on equal footing as everyone else that had started a new life. Good luck and have fun." The sweet voice said as her last words slowly faded away. "Thank you very much" Scout said when everything around him suddenly turned white, and he could not feel anything beneath him, because he had started to fall into a new life and a new world.

___________________________________ Well thats chapter one, pretty much character creation and some explanation on Square one, if there are any suggestions or concerns pls post it on the comments and ill look into it. Also if there are grammar mistakes, please tell me and ill try to change it The intro was longer than I expected, I was hoping on Scout being able to actually play the game in this chapter, but my brain is fried today. Chapter 2: Game Start Scout soon felt something beneath his feet when he finally realized he was at the Beginners town of Chronos. In all beginners town, all new players are stuck here for 30 days. This substitutes for a tutorial, and it also teaches new players the basics of the game. The first 30 in game days determines your class. The only way you can leave or enter the beginners town is by quests. There is still an open field where new players can train and hunt monsters. 1 day in real life is 4 days in game. Scout was amazed by the new reality that he has steeped upon. He wasn''t alone, alongside him were other new players just started playing the game, also amazed. Scout quickly snapped out of his daze because this was not his first time being in a virtual reality, During his time in the army, they would use the "Egg" to run virtual reality field tests for training. "States WIndom" Scout shouted, he was eager what bonus stats he had gotten.

Scout was surprised, he read on the game forums that usually an average person only gets 10 extra stat points. Geniuses, people with high IQ, martial artists, sports people, and people who usually stand above the rest only gets around 15-25 bonus stat points. Scout however got 30 extra stat points, and they were all very balanced. This is of course because of his military training and because he is always eager to learn. ''I should start my journey now, what to do what to do, I guess ill head over to the training center and see the basic weapons'' So scout started to go to the training center, which was right in front of him. As he entered there were many people testing out weapons. A weapon instructor approached him and asked "would you like to try out weapons that best suit you?" "Yes please" "Just go over to that weapons rack, grab a weapon that best suited you, and start attacking the dummies." "Thank you very much" Scout then walked over to the weapon rack. The weapon rack contained all types of weapons. It had the normal swords, Short swords, Broad swords, Long swords, Daggers, Hammers, Spear, a bow and arrow, and a crossbow. Scout chose two daggers. Scout was always fond of knives, during his military training, he was one of the best students there using their knives in hand to hand combat. He tested it for a couple of minutes in the dummies. The weapon instructor then approached him and asked him "Is that the weapon that you like son? If it is, everyone can take their desired weapon with them" Scout simply nodded and said "Thank you" and then he left. ''I wonder what I should do so that I can get the class that I want'' Scout thought, Scout wanted to become a rouge, or something in the line of a rouge like an assassin or a thief. Then he saw a bunch of new players like him gathering around a board. It turned out to be a quest board. He approached the quest board and looked to see if there were any quests relating to his desired profession. After a minute of looking he found a good quest that suited him.
Quest Follow the noble that is headed to a nearby cottage in the outskirts of town, make sure you are undetected and no harm comes to the nobles way. Difficulty:F Rewards:10 copper Failure: If noble sees you and harm comes to the nobles way Accept? Yes/No

For Scout this was the perfect quest for him. There was only one entrance/exit to the town. So Scout headed that way, and soon enough he saw a noble that seemed to be bringing a parcel. Scout concluded that this was the person he had to escort. Before Scout headed out, he checked his equipment 1st, he had the beginners clothes that did not give any sort of defense whatsoever, and he had a canteen full of water, and 10 loaves of white bread. He also had his dual daggers that each had an attack damage of 1-3.
Time Left7 minutes
Scout had plenty of time to Scout the area, so he headed outside the gate and saw that there was only one cottage near the outskirts of town, it was about a 10 minute walk Scout estimated. ''I should have no problem on defending the noble since it''s a short distance and there are other players training here and killing mobs. This should be fairly easy. And besides there are a lot of trees, so it should be easy to hide from the noble while protecting him.''

Scout had 5 minutes left so he thought that he should test out the monsters. There was only bunnies available to hunt and kill. Scout had thought that the bunnies were fairly easy to kill. Oh boy he was wrong, they were fast and aggressive. A bunny started hopping towards him and started biting him, as Scout was about to slash towards the bunny, it would suddenly jump away. He had to time the bunnies attack before he could kill it with his daggers. People wielding swords had it much easier in killing the rabbits because they had a more wide area of coverage from their swings. Scout however only had 2 daggers. Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings. Scout finally found a way to deal with the bunny, he planned that when the bunny jumped to bite, this would be the most vulnerable state for a bunny. He finally saw the bunny hopping towards him and concentrated and waited for him to strike. Scout was right, when the bunny jumped, Scout strikes and landed a critical hit. It took 1/4 of the bunny''s HP. The bunny was shocked that it was hit while mid air, and was dazed for a second. Scout took this chance to slash the bunny a couple of times and it died. It dropped bunny meat and bunny fur.

"WHAT?! it took me 3 minutes to kill one bunny?!" Scout was shocked, he thought it would take him 30 seconds to kill one, of course now that he knew the bunny''s pattern he should be able to kill them easily, and since the bunny don''t do much damage he should be fine for a while. Scout headed back near the entrance of the gate where the noble was standing. Scout was outside the gate already so he rested in a tree branch where the noble would not see him. After the timer hit zero, the noble started moving. And so did scout. He was hiding inside a thick bush when he noticed that there was a bunny approaching the noble, but before the bunny noticed Scout, Scout had already grabbed the bunny and stabbed it to death. ''Crisis Averted *whew*'' Scout thought he was safe, until he saw a couple more bunnies headed for the noble, luckily there were other players that were training in the area and killed some bunnies. There were 2 bunnies left to deal with. So Scout killed one bunny with ease and started killing the other one. ''This is harder than I thought it would be. At least it cannot get any worse right?'' Just as he was saying that, the noble stopped and started picking up herbs while bunnies were approaching him. ''God damn, why do you do this to me?!'' so Scout started killing the bunnies before they reach the noble. After 5 minutes, which seemed like an 30 minutes for Scout, he got a notification.

''YEEEEEES'' Scout was happy, he read somewhere in the forums that weapon masteries took a lot of time and understanding of the weapon, him getting it this early was a blessing. Not only did he do more damage, he can also get rid of the bunnies faster. About halfway front he cottage, Scout felt weak and hungry, he forgot about his hunger bar. So he ate a loaf of white bread that was given to him from the very beginning and drank some fresh water from his canteen and his satiety bar rose up by a decent amount. He ate another one and his satiety bar was full. After a rinse and repeat of killing bunnies, for almost 15 minutes near the halfway mark he got a notification.
Level Up!
"Finally!" Scout almost screamed, but held it back or else he would have alarmed the noble. In Square One you get 5 stat points every time you level up. The only way to get bonus stat points was to do unique quests or events. Square One did this so that it would a fairer game and no one would abuse stat grinding through any means. Scout then 2 stat points to strength, 2 to agility, and 1 point in luck. After 10 more minutes of killing bunnies faster than ever, Scout got another level and added the same stats the same number. The noble was finally 1 minute away from the cottage and was very close until Scout noticed something, there were 2 players approaching the noble, and they had bloodlust aimed towards the noble. ''wow..... really? players? I guess someone also put a quest on the job board to kill the noble.'' Scout sighed at the sight, he was not sure how to deal with them, he was not even sure if he could kill them. ''I guess ill try to ambush them, I have the element of surprise.'' So Scout had to make sure that the noble was safe, and he saw that there were no more bunnies where the noble was headed, so he was good on that side. Scout then tried making a bait for the bunnies, he tried giving them bread, and the result? They are attracted to it, but once they it the bread they go crazy after 1 minute. So Scout spread some bread crumbs where the 2 players were gonna pass, and soon enough there was 8 rabbits eating the bread. 1 minute passed and just like Scout planned, the 2 players had a battle with the crazed bunnies. "God dammit what is up with these bunnies?!" The guy with a sword screamed "I don''t know, they were easier to kill earlier, this is so ANNOYING" another guy with dual daggers screamed in annoyance. That did not stop them though, they were winning even though they were level 1 and had starting gear. ''I guess ill have to kill them'' Scout thought So when one of the players, that were still busy trying to kill the enraged bunnies, started to be pushed back to where Scout was hiding. Scout took his chance and stabbed the guy in the back of his neck which landed him a critical hit and fatal blow. It instantly killed the player. He then got a notification.

_______________________________ Ill stop this chapter here guys, it got longer than i thought because I had to somewhat explain how the Square One system works. BTW, i didnt add the "raising" skill points through training in the training center because i thought it would be a bit unbalanced for players to abuse the system, I want this game to be fair. Usually in Square One you get a red name or a Player Killer mark on you when you kill another person. It will not apply if it was self defense, like if a person attacks you and you fight back, you are clear from the red name. For Scouts case however, it was a quest for him to protect the noble. Another instance where it will not apply is for a war to break out between kingdoms or faction, it only applies to participants though. The other player was still busy trying to kill off the bunnies that he did not notice his partner missing. So he was still fighting off the bunnies. Scout took this chance to use his new skill backstab. He stabbed his dagger into the back of the neck and it instantly killed the player. He then fought off the 2 remaining bunnies that the 2 players left behind. Since the bunnies were on low health, Scout just jumped forward and slashed one bunny, while stabbing the other and they both instantly died. He then got a notification.

"wow I only killed 2 bunnies and I leveled up? oh wait, I guess by killing those 2 players I got plenty of exp" Scout was right, killing players yielded more exp. He then allocated his stat points, same as before, 2 in strength, 2 in agility and 1 in luck. "Status Window"

''Not bad'' Scout thought. He then looted the drops, he got a total of 80 coppers from killing the bunnies. He did not have to worry about the meat and fur that he had picked up because loot like that will stack up to 250. Scout then went ahead and checked on the noble, as he had guessed he was safe and was approaching the cottage when suddenly the noble looked at the spot where Scout was hiding. "You can come out now boy, I''m pretty sure I''m safe now" the noble said with a grin ". . ." "Don''t worry boy, you won''t fail your quest, because I was the one that posted that quest." Scout then slowly walked towards the noble with a dumbfounded face and asked "Why?" "Because I''m here looking for interesting people like you." "For what exactly?" Scout asked with a still dumbfounded face "So that people like you can get a unique class, of course whatever you do from now on will still weigh on what class that you will get." Scout snapped out of his daze and asked "So, what kind of class will I get?" "Cant tell you, its not like I can''t, it is just that i don''t know yet, but seeing your actions probably along the lines of a thief, maybe an assassin, I don''t know, depends on what you do from now on." "But something as easy as that and I get a higher chance for a unique class?" "Well the thing that you ''easily'' did wasn''t as easy as you think. Especially when those 2 players that came for me, usually i only get 1 person from that quest board." "Wait, you were the one that hired those 2 players as well?" Scout was now even more confused. The noble simply nodded and said "Yeah, I hire people so that your challenge would have been more challenging" "I see, but did I fail my quest?" Scout asked worrying he won''t gain any rewards. "Nope, like I told you, you did a good job, not many people manage to do this quest, not only is it because its hard, it is also because I rarely do this quest. You were lucky that you had stumbled upon it. Well I have to go" "Wait!" Scout shouted "Hmmm?" "What about the package and the cottage?" "Oh, theres nothing in the package, its just an empty box, and this cottage? its empty" The noble then just walked off and laughed. Scout let out a sigh and put his palm in his face. All that trouble just for that. He then got a notification that made him smile.

''At least I got my rewards'' Scout then started to head back to the beginner town. While on the way there he saw a peculiar sight. He saw 3 players what seemed to be attempted robbery. "Hey Joe, this guy says he ''only'' has 50 copper." A guy said. "Thats a lot already James. Jack over there is hungry, and we need to buy him bread anyways" another guy said "Yeah James." Another guy said. "Well, steal his money so that we can start killing him already" James said. And so they did, they started kicking and stabbing the poor guy with their swords. Scout could only look because if he came out now, no doubt he would die next. But he won''t just let it go, they were in a thick forest, which means this would give Scout a huge advantage. "OH YEAH, I got a level, finally level 2" Jack shouted. "Me too!" James and Joe replied in unison "We should kill more people more often, they give way more exp than those stupid bunnies" Jack told them. James and Joe just nodded their heads. Joe then said to his two partners "Lets leave before someone sees us. lets start killing more bunnies so that our red names disappear." As they were walking outside their crime area, Jack stopped suddenly and said to his partners "Hey guys, my satiety bar is getting low, I only have 1 loaf left. You guys go ahead ill eat it here and rest while you guys kill those damn bunnies." "Alright, hurry up though, we don''t want to wait for you" James told Jack. So James and Joe started looking for bunnies farther away from Jack, and Jack sat down in a tree stump while eating his bread. Scout took this chance to slowly approach Jack. Scout was now in striking distance when a bunny appeared right in front of Jack, which startled Jack. Scout then quickly stabbed Jack in the back, Backstab was activated and Jack died in one hit. Jack did not even now what hit him. All he knew was that he was dead. Scout was pleased he then got a notification that said.

Scout was now more happy than ever, until he heard someone approaching them, so Scout hid behind a tree and hoped that it was one of the player killers. But there was a slight problem it wasn''t just one, it was 2 of them. Joe then suddenly shouted. "WHAT THE HECK! what happened here?!" "I don''t know, look around, the killer might still be here." James replied ''Well i guess its time to leave, I can''t deal with both of them at the same time'' Scout was about to leave, and his first step made him kick a pebble onto the next tree. ''COME ON!'' Scout shouted on his mind. "WHAT WAS THAT?!, Joe go check it out." Joe simply nodded and slowly approached where the sound came from. ''No choice, I guess ill try to fight them. I guess ill try to backstab the guy thats approaching me and ill just kill the other guy one on one'' That was Scout plan. As Joe was approaching the tree next to Scout, Scout jumped out and backstabbed Joe, which instantly killed him. James was shocked, he saw his comrade not only dead but one shotted. "Who are you?! Why are you killing my friends?!" James screamed in a scared voice. "Me? Im no one, and besides you guys killed that poor fellow over there, and I''m here to I guess, how do I say this? Uhm, retaliate? Scout said with a grim. Scout then slowly approached James with his dual daggers wielded, his pace sped up when suddenly James drew his sword and attacked Scout with a slice. Scout just stepped to the side and stabbed James, Scout expected James to be dead, because all his other player kills were 1 hit KO ''Thought he would be dead, guess not since it wasn''t a backstab.'' Scout jumped back, and started approaching James, and so their melee started. After 30 seconds of fighting, James finally fell down dead. Scout satisfied with his work, he got another level and also got another extra 200 fame for killing James and Joe. He then started walking back to the beginner town where he look for more stuff to do. [tr]

He realized that his weapon durability was reaching its limits, so he decided to go to the blacksmith to get it repaired. He walked towards the blacksmith located on his map, once he got there, he saw a bearded man siting near the forge banging on metals. "Excuse me, can you please repair my weapon?" Scout asked "Alright, let me see them kid." Scout handed over his two daggers. "They seem to be in a very bad condition, can''t do anything with them, their core is broken, so it''s impossible to repair." "I see, do you have any idea where I can get new ones?" "These daggers are from the training center right?" "Yeah" "Well you can similar pairs like these from the training center for free if you ask them. Or you can buy new ones from a weapon shop." The blacksmith said "Cant you just make me a new one?" Scout asked with a curios voice. "In order for me to make you one, you need ores, and the ore field near here is only open to blacksmiths, armor smiths, etc. . . for quests." "I see, thank you for the information" Scout thanked the blacksmith and left. ''Not many blacksmith or armor smith players around here.'' Scout thought as he checked the area. ''I guess ill go to the training center for a new pair, I can''t really buy a new one since I have little money, and I need to buy more bread.'' Scout stopped by a convenience store and bought some bread, and they also had a jelly type of thing that could be paired with the bread to add more flavor and fill up the satiety bar more. He then headed to the fountain to refill his water canteen. After walking for almost 5 minutes, Scout finally arrived at the training center and approached the same training master that gave him his 2 daggers. "Excuse me, can I please get a new pair of daggers? Mine broke and the blacksmith said that it''s damaged beyond repair." The training master was shocked to hear this. "You managed to break your new daggers? They were not supposed to be easily broken, and usually most adventurers like you would manage to wear down their beginner weapons by the end of the 30 days, but they still won''t break them. Can I see your daggers real quick, just to make sure that they are broken." "Here you go." Scout handed over his 2 daggers to the training master. "I see, so you really did break them, I don''t know how you did it and what you did, but not that many people break their weapons. I will be right back to get you new ones." The training master then went to the back of the training center. After 5 minutes he came back with new daggers. But these daggers were jet black, they were plain looking black daggers. "These daggers are quite unique, once I hand them over to you, you''ll understand why, usually the people that break their weapons, I give them a slightly better weapon than the beginner ones. The reason why I''m giving this to you because I heard you were interesting from a certain someone. And you''re the first one to break the beginner weapons the very same day they got them." The training master then handed the daggers to Scout. "Item window" Scout then opened the information on the daggers.

The dagger levels up according to the level of the user, Scout. The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.
Scout was shocked, items that leveled up were very rare, weapons even rarer. There were already a couple of leveling items discovered throughout the game, but mostly accessories. Whats even more unique that it won''t break. "Thank you very much" Scout then bowed and left the training center. He then started to go to the adventurers guild. The adventurers guild is pretty much where all ''adventurers'' sign up and join. Scout entered the adventurers guild, it was full of players like him, it was a joyous location, there were people eating, drinking, passed out drunk, there were even people singing and dancing. But Scout was more interested in the quest boards. The difference between quests boards in the adventurers guild and the ones outside, is that adventurers quests give more experience and better rewards. Scout walked up to the counter where a beautiful elf was standing behind the counter. "Hello, how may I help you today?" The Elf asked. "Im here to register as an adventurer." Scout replied The Elf then handed Scout a small piece of paper and said "Please put down your adventurers name here, and your race here please." Scout signed it and handed the piece of paper back. "Your adventurers guild card will be ready by tomorrow." The Elf said as she handed out the paper to another beautiful human lady. "Thank you very much." Scout then decided to log off Square One, he had been playing the game for almost 16 hours now. He started playing the game at 5 pm in real time, so he figured it should be about 9 pm now. Ray stepped out of his Egg and checked the clock, it was already 9 pm, just like he predicted. ''Sure is amazing to think only four hours passed'' Scout thought amazed. Ray then decided to make spaghetti that would last him for 3 days. Scout wasn''t bothered by having the same food for 3 days, in his military training, he had to endure it for a couple of weeks before their menu changes. After he ate, he decided to take an hour jog since he needed to maintain his body. At 10:30 pm he came back home, did a couple of push ups, and he hit the sand bag that he had hanged in a free space that he had in his apartment. After finishing his workout, he then took a half bath, just wiping his dirt and sweat from his body. He washed his face, brushed his teeth and went to bed. Ray then woke up at 5 am like he always do so that he can do his morning jog. And since he already had a great workout last night, all he needed to do was a light jog to wake up his body. After his jog, Ray went back home and ate cereal, he brought his bowl in front of his TV and see what was happening in the world of Square One. Ever since its release, Ouroboros Corp, the owner of Square One made a TV show just for Square One. There was nothing interesting going on today, a couple of skirmishes and some small guild battles nothing fancy. Ray then decided to log back on and get his adventurers card.

So i can probably post a new one tomorrow since i only have school and no work tomorrow. I was planning on posting this chapter yesterday, but I had to do a double shift, because i needed the money, so i was busy. Thanks for reading, and sorry for posting late Chapter 5 Scout was back at the same spot that he logged off, just outside of the Adventurers guild. Scout went back inside and approached the counter, the same Elf was there. "Hello, how may I help you today?" The elf asked "Im here to pick up my adventurers card please." "And what is your name again?" "Scout" "Scout, Scout, oh here it is, here you go." The Elf then handed over scout a white piece of card the size was of a regular ID "Would you like a basic overview on how the adventurers card works?" Scout just nodded and said "Yes please" "Okay, well first of all, you need to drop a tiny amount of blood onto your card." Scout then pulled out his dagger and nicked his finger just enough for blood to come out, he then let the blood drop onto the white piece of card. It suddenly changed color, There was a split in color, in one half of the card, it was white, while the other was blue. And the word ''SCOUT'' was printed and carved in the middle. "Ooooh thats amazing to think that you are halfway to being a blue tier adventurer already." The Elf said with a joyous smile on her face. ". . ." Scout was confused because he still did not know what it meant. "Ah pardon my rudeness, I still haven''t explain the how the card works. Basically the card will determine your strength, and the card shows that by the color that it holds. The rankings are, White, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Pink, Purple, and Black. White being the weakest and Black being the strongest. But the card only reads the adventurers stats, and those stats include the equipment bonuses. So it doesn''t necessarily mean that Blue tiered adventurers are stronger than white tiered ones. But the chances are pretty high for higher tiered color to be stronger than the ones below them." "I see, but what about my card, its half white and half blue, what does that mean?" Scout asked after the long explanation. "It just means your halfway to being a blue tiered adventurer, you are still considered a white tiered adventurer, and the quests you can take are still only white tiered quests. You can still go on higher colored quests if you are in a group that has 2 colored tier above you, since you are a white tiered, you can technically join green tiered quest if they accept you into their group. Also if you rank up to a higher tier color, you can still take on quests from the lower tiered quests." "Thank you very much for the explanation, since I have my card, can I go do quests now?" Scout again asked. "Yes, just take a poster from the quest board, and hand over the poster to one of the open windows right beside it and show them your card, they need to approve that your card color corresponds to the quest." Scout then walked over to the quest board, there weren''t that many quests available since it was the beginner town, and all of the quests they had available were white tiered ones. There was one quest that was pretty easy for scout to do. It was to gather 75 bunny meat and bunny fur, lucky for Scout he already has the same exact number from all the bunnies that he killed. So he grabbed the poster and gave it to one of the workers on the window along with his card. A notification then popped up.
Quest:Collect 75 bunny meat and fur Rewards:Experience and 50 copper Accept?Yes/No
"Accept quest." Scout then asked the window person "Where do I turn in the quest?" The guy working the window was dumbfounded "But you just got that quest, just now." "I hunted them yesterday" Scout said with a laugh. "I-I see, you can hand them over to any of us working the windows." Scout then took out the 75 bunny meat and bunny furs and handed over to the teller.

After he turned in the quest, Scout got a level, and he assigned his stats the same as before, 2 in strength and 2 in agility and 1 in luck. ''Well that was easy'' Scout thought with a grin in his face, he then went over back to the quest board and checked what other quests he can do. There was one quest that interested him, it was herb picking, he needed to pick up 1000 level 1 herbs for the local pharmacists in order to create level 1 potions. Scout accepted the job and started to head out towards the fields. Once Scout was out in the field, he easily saw the level 1 herbs and started digging around the roots and uprooted the level 1 herb.

Scout was satisfied, he started picking and picking and after a couple of hours of picking the herbs, there were no more herbs to pick up, he had gathered 50 herbs. ''I guess theres a limit to how many herbs spawn each day'' Scout thought disappointed. This would mean it would take Scout 20 days to finish the quest, and since Scout already took 5 in game days before, he only will be left 5 more in game days to do nothing. Scout decided on a plan that most people won''t even bother doing since it would be boring. His plan was every time he finished picking up the herbs, he would hunt bunnies to increase his dagger mastery and his backstab skill. Scout did this for 20 days, stopping only for his daily necessities like exercising, using the bathroom, eating and sleeping. On occasion he would encounter Player killers, about once every 2 days, of course, Scout dealt with them without the Player Killers knowing, one second they were killing other players, the next, they were dead. Scout gained 7 levels from that he is now level 13. His Dagger mastery increased to beginner level 7, and since he can only use backstab so very often, it only leveled up to beginner level 5. After picking up 1000th level 1 herb he gained a notification.

''Why didnt the stupid system give this to me when I started?! I could have killed more bunnies!'' Scout was mad, but happy at the same time, since he got a new skill.'' Scout went back to the beginner town to sell all of his bunny meat and bunny fur. Since he killed almost 1 thousand bunnies, he got about 300 bunny meat and fur each, which the adventurers guild gracefully bought from Scout for 3 coppers each meat and fur. That brought Scout money to 60 silver. He had 80 coppers before, but he used them for his supplies during his mission. He went back to the adventurers guild and turned in his quest. He went to the window and was about to hand the herbs over, but the NPC told him "Oh you''re finished picking up the 1000 herbs? Not many have the same patience as you. Anyway, the pharmacists that wanted those herbs requested that people take the 1000 herbs to him personally." Did you know this text is from a different site? Read the official version to support the creator. "I see, I do not know where he is though" Scout said while scratching his head. "Here let me mark it on your map" "Thank you very much." Scout left the adventurers guild and started walking over to the red dot in his map, and after 5 minutes of walking he saw the pharmacists shop right next door to the alchemy shop. (Note, in this game, Pharmacists create health potions, and Alchemists create mana potions.) Scout stepped inside the shop and approached the counter where an old man was standing. "Welcome, would you like to buy some potions young man?" "No, I''m here to turn in the 1000 herb quest?" "Ah, not many adventurers finish that quest." "So I have been told" Scout said, he then gave the 1000 herbs to the old man. "Thank you very much young man, here let me bestow upon you this profession, I only give this skill to those that pass this quest."

''This is gonna be very useful for me'' Scout thought with a grin. "Thank you very much, but how does it work?" "Ah, almost forgot to tell you eh? Its pretty simple really, you just grab one of the herbs, grind it up, and put it in a special glass vial. The vial already contains the liquid that automatically mixes the herb with the liquid. So 1 herb and 1 vial is one potion." "I see" Scout said with a nod. "But where can I get the vials?" "They can only be bought from alchemy or pharmacy shops, and they are only 10 copper each" "Okay, can I buy 250 please?" "250 young man? That is going to be 25 silver, can you afford it?" "Yes" Scout then handed over the 25 silver and got 250 vials. "Thanks for the business" The old man said. Scout then left the store. Scout still had 5 game days left after this one, so he can still gather 250 herbs, thats why he bought 250 vials. He then logged off and decided to log back in after 6 hours in real time since that would be 1 in game day since the time ratio is 1:4. Ray stepped out of his ''Egg'' and did his daily routine, exercise, eat, bathroom and sleep. He then logged back on, collected his 50 herbs, logged back out and relaxed. He did this until it was already his 30th in game day. Ray logged back in Square One. As Scout was being spawned from where he last logged off, he started picking up his 50 last herbs. After picking up herbs for 5 days, Scout got his Herb Picking skill up to beginner level 3. He then got a window.
Congratulations: Your 30 days are up, please head to the adventurers guild so that you will be given your class and you will be transported to an actual beginner town.
Scout rushed towards the adventurers guild, he approached the counter and asked where he could get his class. The person at the counter pointed him towards a door, on top of the door, two words were carved "CLASS CHANGE". Scout face palmed, it couldn''t have been more obvious. He went inside the door and there was something surprising inside, he saw the noble that he had escorted on his very first day. Whats even more surprising is that he was the one that was giving out the class change. "Hey, good to see you, so you''re finally ready to take on your class?" Scout just nodded, he wanted to hide his excitement. "Well just like told you, a good class will be given to you, I''m not the one that chooses this, I''m just the one that our God, Gaia has chosen to bestow classes to adventurers like you." A window then suddenly showed up in front of Scout.
Congratulations!You have been offered the class Eliminator you are offered this class because due to your behaviors, killing thief''s and adventurer killers without bragging about it, or showing it off to other adventurers. Note that this class is a class somewhere along the lines of a thief and a rouge. All fame and infamy will be reset. You will not gain any fame for killing players for it is in your nature, you can still gain fame for doing righteous things and by doing unique quests, NPCS will only talk of you through your righteous deeds and quests, but never as a player that kills other players. Your infamy will not go up if you kill non player killers depending on the situation, since there can only be one truth, God Gaia will know and decide wether or not you gain any infamy. Accept? Yes/No If you do not accept you will be given another class as an "Assassin"
"Accept" Scout paid did not care about his fame, since he really does not want to stand out, this would work best for him.

"Well kid, like I told you, unique class eh?" "Yeah, thank you very much." "Don''t thank me kid, thank Gaia." Scout nodded. "Well our times up kid, you will now be transferred to an actually starting town somewhere in the regions of Chronos, its pretty random. Good luck and have fun kid, your adventure begins now!." All light begin to fade around Scout and he soon woke opened his eyes on a new town, a whole new world.

He still did not know where he was, so he approached a guard and ask him where he was. "Excuse me, can I bother to ask you what city or town this is?" "Ah, you must be one of those adventurers that start out in this town, this is Jagsen town, if you want to go to the capital, its to the east of here, about a weeks trip. Its where most adventurers like you go anyways." "I see, thank you very much, and is there by any chance an adventurers guild here?" "Ah yeah, no problem kid, and no, we don''t have the adventurers guild here, only cities and a couple of towns have those." "Thank you for the information" Scout then left the guard alone. He then went back to the marketplace, not many people here were high levels Scout guessed that since this place was a starting town the level range would be from 5-50. Scout then started walking back to the marketplace where he first spawned. He sat near the fountain and started making level one potions, as he made them, he sold them." "Selling level 1 potions, come and get them, they aren''t much, but they are cheaper than the store, only 40 copper each." Scout shouted as one by one his potions were then sold out. He sold 250 level 1 potions and that in total is 1 gold, his profit would be 75 silver in total. His pharmacist level percent went up by 25%, this means that he still had to make 750 level 1 potions in order for it to reach level 2. After selling his potions, Scout stood up and went to find a quest board, after a few minutes of walking, he saw one, he then accepted a quest to kill 50 black wolves that were terrorizing the area. Before Scout left, he checked his inventory to see if he needed supplies like food and water, but something surprised him. He was given some basic leather armors. (Note. Everyone gets basic armor after they get a class, Thiefs/Rouges and archers get leather armor. Warriors get heavy armor and healers and mages get cloth armor) He inspected the equipment that he got.

(Note, The item tiers follow the adventurers color tier; White, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Pink, Purple, Black) Scout was happy that he can finally throw away his old beginner clothiers, he now had some proper equipment that gave him a total of 14 defense. He then went to the general goods store where he bought some bread and some butter and jelly. After checking his equipment, he checked if he got any new skills, he only got 3 skills, however two were unique while the other was basic.
Stealth(Active):Go into stealth making it harder for you to be noticed, increases movement speed while stealth. Stealth will only be broken if the user wishes to do so, or if the user deals damage or uses an item. The higher the level, the faster you can move. Stealth: Beginner level 1 (0%) Mana Cost:100 Cooldown: 2 minutes
This skill is pretty basic given to all of the classes that are related to theifs/rouges
Nimble Body(Passive): Slightly increases movement speed and dodge rate. The higher the level goes, the more movement speed you gain and the higher the dodge rate. Nimble Body: Beginner level 1 (0%)
Shadow Step (Active):Instantly able to teleport to a target area, up to a maximum of 10 yards. The higher the level goes, the further distance you can travel. This class is unique to the Eliminator Shadow Step: Beginner level 1 (0%) Mana Cost: 50 Cooldown: 10 seconds
Usually people get 4 or 5 skills, but nonetheless, Scout was happy, with this he can use his stealth, backstab a target and just shadow step away. Or he can go into stealth and shadow step towards an enemy, since technically Shadow step doesn''t have any damage, stealth won''t be canceled. Scout was now ready to depart for his quest. He saw that there were many players like him, beginners that were teaming up to kill some brown wolves, he inspected the brown wolves and saw that they were level 15. He cannot see the players names or levels however because the game had set it up that way. As Scout was about to head deeper into the forest to find the black wolves he was approached by a more than average looking guy with fire red hair and asked him "Hey what level are you?" Scout did not really mind telling people his level so he just nonchalantly replied "Level 13" "That pretty nice, you want to join our party and grind these brown wolves? We will split the loots equally" the guy said with an evil grin. You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author. "Im sorry but my business is not with these brown wolves, my business is with the black ones." Scout just said calmly as he started to venture deeper into the forest. "You must be crazy, those dark wolves are level 20, even a party of 5 have trouble with them." ". . ." Scout just ignored him and started walking away. "Don''t mind him boss, he will die once he gets inside there and he will come running back to join us" One of the guy said. Scout went into stealth before heading inside the forest, this way he won''t get attacked by any wolves, however if he is not careful, he might alert the wolves and make them go on a defensive mode. After venturing deeper into the forest, Scout finally saw one black wolf, and it was alone. As he went closer, it seemed that the wolf also got bigger, the black wolves were now almost the size of a fully grown tiger. Scout did not care about the size, all he cared about was finishing his quest. Scout was now close enough to strike the wolf, but he wanted to utilize his backstab skill, so he slowly went around it. He then stabbed the wolf in the neck. The wolf howled in pain, but it did not die. It then finally saw Scout and started growling at him. The wolf then suddenly pounced at Scout taking away 37 damage. ''OMG, I need to dodge those attacks or else ill die in 8 more hits'' Scout panicked a little when suddenly the wolf jumped at him again opening its mouth with the intention to bite him, but this time Scout successfully dodged the attack. Scout then decided to take this chance to strike the wolf from behind since it jumped past him. The wolf once again howled in pain but it was still alive. The wolf turned around and starting hacking Scout with its claws, the wolf knew that if it does another jump attack he would get hit by Scout. No matter how many times the wolf tried to slash Scout, Scout would barely dodge the attacks, he still received some damage, but not a considerable amount. For every 5 attacks that Scout dodges, he strikes one back, he can only do one because it takes a good amount of concentration to dodge attacks. Scout''s health was now barely over half, so he needed to end it soon. He decided to shadow step to the farthest tree branch that he could reach. The wolf was confused, it did not know where Scout went, It tried to find Scouts scent but couldn''t find it, after 10 seconds the wolf relaxed, upon seeing this, Scout took this chance and shadow stepped behind the wolf and dealt another backstab to its neck, with this the wolf finally died. Scouts exp bar went up by a quarter, so this means he needed 3 more wolves to level up. The only loot that the wolf dropped was its hide. Scout picked it up and decided to rest to recover his HP and mana. ''That was harder than I thought it would be, it even drained my satiety bar'' Scout thought while resting up on a tree branch.He then ate bread with butter and jelly, this helped him recover his health and stamina faster. Scout was about to hunt for the next wolf, he still had 49 to go, but he saw some level 1 herbs that he needed. So he jumped down and collected the herbs. He gathered 100 herbs. ''650 more of these and ill be a level 2 pharmacist'' level 1 pharmacists can only make level 1 potions that only recover 50 HP, but level 2 potions can recover 100 hp which is a huge difference. Scout then started to head off to hunt for more wolves. After a few minutes of wandering he saw another lone wolf. He then decided to just shadow step behind the wolf''s back and stabbed it in the neck. The same thing happened with the first wolf, but now Scout was barely getting hit, this time Scout did not need to retreat, so he just had a duel with the wolf for 30 seconds and it died on the spot. The wolf again dropped its hide. After killing the wolf, Scout once again saw more herbs, but this time only 50 herbs. Scout rested and started to wander off to hunt for more wolves. He now encountered 2 wolves. Scout decided to try it out. Since the wolves were side by side, he easily shadow stepped behind them and with each dagger, he stabbed them in the neck. The wolves were startled for a second but then started to attack together. Scout was now able to dodge one wolfs attack completely, but having 2 wolves attack was a different thing, he can barely dodge them both and he still received damage. ''I Shouldn''t have sold all those stupid potions, DAMNIT!'' Scout thought while in a panic, his health was almost reaching the half mark. ''Its sink or swim, ill stop all attempts at dodging and start attacking one wolf.'' Scout suddenly stopped dodging the attacks and started to hack, stab and slash at one wolf, the wolf then died after about 6 or 7 normal attacks from scout which was a span of 3 seconds. His health dropped below 3/4 now, he was in a critical condition, 2 more hits and ill be dead. But lucky for Scout, the wolf, instead of clawing Scout, it tried for a jump bite attack, which Scout easily dodged and once the wolf was peat him, he stabbed it in the back once, and stabbed it normally from the front, which killed the wolf instantly. A golden light fell upon Scout and he had leveled up to 14. "Information Window"

____________________________ Note: I decided to chance a tiny thing from the stat table, Strength now adds one attack damage per point, Intelligence now adds one magic attack damage per point. I have also simplified things, because i think its better for me and less complicated, I simplified the attack damage and defense, its now 1 single number instead of the 1-1 thing. He rested and started to kill more wolves, he can now take on 2 at a time without taking damage. He could even take on 3 at time while still taking damage, but it was manageable for him. He finally finished killing 50 dark wolves, he gained 4 more levels. Which brought him up to level 18. His skill rose up quite a bit too. "Skill Windows"

Herb Picking(Passive):Allows player to pick up herbs faster, and has a slight chance of picking up 2 or more herbs from one plant. Speed and chances increases as level increases. Herbpicking proficiency:13% (Beginner level 5)
Shadow Step (Active):Instantly able to teleport to a target area, up to a maximum of 11.5 yards. The higher the level goes, the further distance you can travel. This class is unique to the Eliminator Shadow Step: Beginner level 3 (28%) Mana Cost: 50 Cooldown: 10 seconds
Stealth(Active):Go into stealth making it harder for you to be noticed, increases movement speed while stealth. Stealth will only be broken if the user wishes to do so, or if the user attacks or uses an item. The higher the level, the faster you can move. Stealth: Beginner level 3 (15%) Mana Cost:100 Cooldown: 2 minutes
Nimble Body(Passive):Passive, Slightly increases movement speed and dodge rate. The higher the level goes, the more movement speed you gain and the higher the dodge rate. Nimble Body: Beginner level 3 (89%)
Scout was pretty formidable now, he can now easily kill any average players at least 10 levels above him. Scout had just managed to collect the rest of his herbs before he headed back to town to turn in his quest. Scout got back to town and before he turned in his quest, he went to the pharmacists store first. He walked up to a counter and saw another old man. ''Apparently all pharmacists are old people'' Scout thought before walking up to the counter and said. "Excuse me, can I buy some potion vials please?" "How many do you want son?" "Can I get 750 pieces?" "oh wow, thats a lot of vials, can you even afford it?" the old shopkeeper asked with a doubting face. "yes I can, here is 75 silver" Scout handed over a bag with 75 silvers in it. "Well ill be damned, let me get them for you real quick." the old man then wandered off into the back and came back with 750 vials which Scout just stuffed in his inventory. "Thank you very much" Scout bowed and left the store. Scout then went to the adventurers guild to turn in his quest. He got a decent amount of exp, but it was not enough for a level up, he did get a reward of 1 gold for exterminating the wolves, which not many can do. He then went to the market place and set up a stall to sell his potions, as he was making them, Scout was trying to sell them. "Selling level 1 potions, cheaper than the ones in the store, only 40 copper each, come and get them before they run out!" Scouts potion sold like hotcakes, after making the last one and selling it off, he got a notification.
Pharmacist level has increased to level 2, you can now create level 2 potions.
Scout was pleased and started to head back to the adventurers guild. When he got there he approached the desk and asked if there were any rooms available. The adventurers guild was like a tavern of some sorts, you can get quests, eat and drink, you can also rent rooms to sleep in. "Do you have any rooms available?" Scout asked the young man working the counter. "Yes we do." the young man lazily answered "How much per night?" "In our place its 15 silver per night if you are a white tiered adventurer. The higher your rank the cheaper it gets. So what rank are you?" The young man again lazily asked "Lets see" Scout pulled out his adventurers card and was surprised that he was already a blue tiered adventurer, whats even more surprising that almost a quarter of his card is green. Scout knew that he had gotten stronger, but to think that he grew this much, he was astonished. Scout then showed the lazy young man his card. Which the young man did not care for much. "That will be 13 silver please." the young man said while pulling out his hand. Scout just handed over the money, he got a hefty amount from selling his potions. "Heres your key sir, you have exactly 24 hours to give the key back" "Thank you very much, so where can I get food around here?" Scout asked "You see that window over there? You can buy food there" The man pointed lazily at a window about 10 meters away. Scout walked over and approached the window and saw a bulky big woman inside a kitchen. The woman approached him and asked "What can I get you young man?" "What do you have to serve tonight?" Scout asked politely "We got some grilled duck, some barbecued pork, some stew, oh and we also got some steamed fish. We also have vegetables for side, some mashed potatoes, bread, rice etc... So, what will you have?" "Can I get 2 servings of barbecued pork a side of vegetables and rice please?" "Big eater are ya?" Scout just nodded. Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings. "That will be 2 silver lad" Scout handed the money and went over towards an empty stool in the bar, he then ordered 2 bottled beers which cost him 50 copper each. After finishing his first ice cold beer, Scout food arrived, he gulped it down, finished his beer and went to his room, when he got to his room, he laid down. Ray then took off his gaming helmet and left the Egg. It was pretty much "AFK". He needed a little break. It was still morning, so he took a 2 hour nap. He did a slight exercise, ate some lunch, and took a shower. He turned on the TV and watched the Square One channel. 2 reporters were present, one female, while the other was male. The male then suddenly started talking. "Urgent report, Peace negotiations are now happening between the kingdom of Chronos and Isris after a few skirmished broke out near their borders." "Do you think the negotiations will be successful Tom?" "I don''t think so Mary, ever since the game started, tensions were already high between Chronos and Isris, we might just have an all out war break out deepening on how the 2 kings deal with the situation, If so, this may very well be the first war between kingdoms." "But weren''t there other wars already that happened in the game Tom?" "Well yes of course, there were castle sieges and stuff like that, but a war this large? just think of all the players and NPCS that will fight to the death." "Well its gonna be chaotic Tom" "it sure will be Mary, and we, at Chanel Square One will be covering it." "Yes we will Tom, this is Tom and Mary reporting you your daily updates. Happy gaming everyone" Almost 3 hours had passed and Ray stepped inside his Egg and put on his helmet. Scout woke up from his room and it checked his game time, 12 hours had passed and it was early morning. He went downstairs and turned in his key. He then approached the quest board, as he was skimming through the quests, something caught his eye it was a recruitment advertisement.

This was a perfect opportunity for Scout, he did not really have a permanent residence, and since mercenaries get a lot of jobs, Scout would be able to utilize this for his adventure, adventuring while getting paid. Scout went to the general to the general goods store and bought more bread, butter and jelly. Scout still had the wolf hides that he had gotten. So he decided to walk over to the tailor shop where an old lady was working. "Can I help you with something young man?" The old lady asked while sowing some clothes. "Yes, can you make me some leather out of these hides?" Scout took out his 50 leather hides. "Some good material you got there young man, enough for me to make you a whole set, I can make you some white tiered armor with good stats, I can also make you some blue tiered set with even greater stats, its gonna cost you though." "How much are they?" Scout asked with a worried look on his face "1 gold for a white set and 2 gold if you want a blue set" Scout hesitated, but gave the old lady 2 gold. "Thank you very much young man, now what color would you like them to be? They will turn out black" "Black is fine, you don''t have to trouble yourself with it." "Okay, just wait here." The old lady then started working on the wolf hides like she was at her twenties, she was so fast fast that Scout didnt event know what was going on. After 5 minutes, the old lady was finished. "Here you go young man" The old lady then handed Scout his new set of armor.

Scout was impressed, not only did he get a good amount of defense, he also had gotten 10 agility points, that was 2 levels worth. Scout did not even stay 2 days in his starting town, which most people stay for at least 1 week or 2 before leaving. Scout then stepped out the gates, breathed in a huge amount of air. "Its time to leave this town and start my journey anew, a new adventure awaits me" [/tr]

If you see a chapter with no title on it, feel free to recommend titles, its like choosing a name for your video game character, it seems so simple yet so hard :D so suggestions about titles with blanks on it would be great :D ________________________________________ Scout was all ready to go, he now had better gear, his skills got better, he also stocked up on his food and water, he was ready for a new journey. As he was about to go into the forest he was approached by the same guy that approached him yesterday along with 5 other people. "Hey, did you die and come back to challenge those wolves again?" The guy asked with a smirk. ". . ." Scout just ignored them and started walking again until someone grabbed him, it was one of the underlings. "Hey! Don''t ignore our boss like that you punk!" The underling stated while giving of a disgusted face. "Let go of him you fool!" The underling let go of Scouts shoulder. "Sorry about my friend over there, he''s a bit hot headed you see, and so am I. I see you got some decent armor there, how bout giving them to us and we will let you off." "Sorry but I can''t do that, I need to go somewhere." Scout just calmly said acting like he wasn''t even being threatened. "Well we can always take it by killing you until you drop them, we can do this the hard way, or the easy way." The boss said with a smirk on his face. "Better just do as our boss says kid, boss is friends with the top guild''s guild master, Phoenix Reborn." "Sorry but I really have to go." Scout just brushed it off. "Now you done it kid, my name is Gale and it is the last thing you will remember before dying." Gale then started to charge towards Scout with his huge sword, it was a 2 handed weapon. Scout easily dodged it since it was huge and wasn''t that fast. Scout instead of killing Gale first, he shadow stepped behind two archers that were side by side aiming their bows towards Scout, He both stabbed them with each dagger, but they did not die right away, that means their level and equipment were decent, but unlike the black wolves that scout faced, these players did not react as fast, and Scout managed to easily land killing blows to both of the archers before they could react to Scout. The two archers each dropped an item but Scout did not bother to check yet. ''2 down, 4 to go'' Scout thought, he was calm, he knew he had the advantage. A mage was now trying to hit Scout with his spells which Scout could not dodge so well since it was his first time dodging magic attacks, he got hit a few times, and they dealt a considerable amount of damage since Scout does not have any sort of magic defense. His health was reaching the half mark. Scout decided to use stealth. Once he was invisible, he hurriedly jumped on top of a branch where he can easily maneuver towards the mage. "Be careful! He could be anywhere! be on your guard! Place your back towards something!" Their leader, Gale shouted. But it was too late, Scout jumped down from the tree branch and easily killed the Mage with 2 stabs to the neck. "HOW THE HELL DID HE GET THERE SO FAST?! Gale shouted in a panic. Scouts shadow step was now ready to use, there were only 3 people left and they were all warriors. He then shadow stepped behind Gale and stabbed him 2 times before Gale reacted and tried to swing his sword towards Scout, but Scout easily dodged and stabbed Gale a couple more time. Gale wanted to attack but he did not notice that he was already dead. "Hes a monster! Run away! The boss is dead! Theres nothing we can do!" One of the underlings shrieked and both of them turned tail and ran away. "Showing your back to me? Not a good idea." Scout then easily chased the 2 warriors since he had the skill Nimble body. "You guys are dead, send my regards to your boss" Scout whispered these words to both of them and instantly killed them. Scout gained a level, and did not gain any infamy points because of his class, he was satisfied. Scout then went ahead and picked up his loot, he only picked up 3 pieces of equipment, and they were all white tiered items, they still gave decent stats. Since Scout decided to go back to town and repair his equipment, he decided he might as well sell the items. Scout went back to town worry free since the guys won''t be coming back to bother him for another 12 hours. Once you die in Square One, you only loose a level and cannot log back in for 12 in game hours or 3 hours in real life. He went to the local blacksmith and asked them to repair his armor, which costed him 5 silver per equipment. He then sold the 3 equipment for 10 silver each. He then finally started his journey towards the Free Wing mercenary. Scout went inside the forest towards the other side of it, killing black wolves along the way, since the black wolves were still 1 level above Scout, they still gave a good amount of exp. After an hour of walking inside the forest and killing almost 30 wolves,He finally got out of the forest and in the distance he saw a small looking castle, which he had guessed was the Free Wing Mercenaries headquarters. As Scout approached the entrance, he was stopped by 2 guards. One of the guards said. "What business do you have here kid? You lost or maybe are you on a quest?" "I''m here to join the Free Wing Mercenaries" Scout bluntly replied. "You join us?" The guard said while laughing. "Stop teasing him man, if he wants to join let him try, you do know that there is a test right?" The calm and composed guy told scout. "The flyer did not say anything about a test." "That damn moron forgot it again, you''re the 20th person that came here not knowing that there was a test." Scout was dumbfounded but was still calm. "Well whats the test?" Scout asked The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. "Well first you have to be at least level 20." Scout was lucky, when he got out of the forest he had gained one more level that just brought him up to level 20. "Im level 20" Scout cooly replied "The second is you must be at least a blue card adventurer." Scout then showed them his card, but he only showed them half of the card that was still all blue, he did not want people their to think he was actually a lot stronger and wanted to keep a low profile. "Well you have the requirements to take the test. Come follow me ill take you there." The guard then left and started walking inside the place. As they were walking Scout could hear people sparring the further they walked, the louder the spars were getting until finally after 2 minutes of walking they arrived where people were gathered. When he got there, the guard told him. "Okay, the rules are simple, you''re gonna have a duel for 1 minute with one of our people here, both parties will be both given level 1 equipments. Any skill can be used if you please, and don''t worry, our people hold back, if you win, you automatically pass the test, If you are still standing after the 1 minute mark, you pass the test. If you fail to win or survive the one minute mark, our superiors will review your action and decide wether or not you are accepted." "I see, thanks for the explanation." Scout bowed "Well, I''m gonna go back to my post now. Good luck" The guard said while going back the direction that they came from. Scout was watching the appliers duel since he was last in line he was able to watch almost everyone. There were people that would immediately win, there were also some that would loose mid way. There was also some people that would go into stealth, but apparently the people at Free Wing Mercenary were experienced enough to know where the person would go after stealth. After about 20 minutes of waiting, it was Scout''s turn. Scout approached the dueling area and a player approached him and asked "Armor type?" "Uhm... leather" Scout hurriedly answered The player gave Scout some level 1 leather armor, the same as the beginner ones that he got. The player then asked him "Weapon type?" "Daggers please" The player again handed Scout some daggers that gave a damage of 5. "Equip those items, step up the area and you will be good to go." Scout equipped the items and stepped up to where the duels were taking place. He was up against a warrior from the Free Wing Mercenary. Scouts strategy was pretty easy, since warriors were not as fast as Scout, he would just attack and dodge, he would also let the attacker get a couple of hits inside. Scout could have just easily used his shadow step and go behind his enemy, but he did not want to attract any attention. After 1 minute was up, Scout passed the barely passed the test, or thats what everybody thought, in truth Scout could have easily passed the test in 1 second but decided not to. "Good duel, you barely passed the test, congratulations" The warrior walked up to Scout and offered his hand for a handshake. Scout shook his hand and said "Yeah, barely made it there, thanks" As Scout was shaking his hand a good looking guy with blue hair suddenly said in a loud voice. "Alright listen up, I am your guild leader Evan, congratulations to the 13 of you that had passed the test, you are now one of us, you are now family. Welcome to the Free Wing Mercenary group, you guys won''t regret your decision for joining us today, ill cut my speech short, I need to go to sleep, bye and congratulations." Evan then suddenly disappeared and apparently just logged off to go to bed. There were some whispers going around. ''Oh god, thats our guild leader? were screwed we should have never joined this place'' ''LOL omg our guild leader is funny, he cut his speech short just to go to sleep'' ''this place is messed up'' ''This gonna be real good'' Scout thought Suddenly another good looking guy with long black hair said. "Im one of the guild officers in this place, my name is Hiro, and I will be officially be giving you your guild mark that will signify your allegiance to the guild. Now everyone line up in the order of the people that passed first gets marked first." They all lined up and one by one they got their marks, it was a tattoo on their arm. Some people got one wing, while others got 2 wings. It was finally Scout turn, he held out his hand and a tattoo of a wing magically appeared in the back of his hand. "Congratulations, and welcome to our humble home which you can call your own. You are now a part of our Free Wing Mercenary group. We will treat you like family here, because in this place, in this beautifully stupid place, we are family"

First of all, with you guys included our group has now exactly 300 members which is the exact number for our ''guild'' limit. But don''t worry, as we grow stronger, so will our numbers. I know most top guilds have at least 5000 members, but we don''t care at all." Hiro was still in the middle of his speech when someone raised there hands and asked. "Uhm . . . I heard we get free rooms and food?" one of the test passers asked. "Yes that is correct, and please hold your questions until I finish debriefing you guys." "Okay, I''m sorry" "No problem, moving on, as that other guy asked, you each will be provided with rooms, and food is also free. The quest board is located inside our guild hall, which is in the very center of our guild headquarters. You will meet many people there, its a good place to strengthen bonds. Our employers vary from different people, but we only accept jobs that are righteous and just. Our employers pay us a small which we use for guild fundings like maintenance of the place and the food that you guys eat. Our employers then the people that actually did the quest, and those people keep the rewards for themselves, they don''t have to give it to us. Our only requirement is that if an employer hires all off us, which has never happened, not yet anyways, we require you to halt what you are doing and return immediately to HQ to be dispatched. There are a few exceptions like timed quests or if its a rare quest and other occasions. Other than that, you are free to go take 100 quests, or not take quests and go on an adventure, but don''t forget, if we mobilize everyone, you will mobilize." After a long talk, Scout and the rest of the people that passed stopped in front of a 2 story housing complex. "So, any questions?" Hiro asked them "Yes, the guild crest, I noticed that some have one wings while the other have two, and you have 1 wing but its quite large." Scout asked "yeah, I''ve wondered about that" one guy said "yeah, me too" another guy said. "Good question, its simple really, the more wings you have, the higher your rank in this group, but it is not relative to strength. It is based on achievements and contributions towards the growth of the guild." "I see, that makes sense, so what is the ranking?" Scout asked again "Another good question, we classify people here 4 ways, S class, A class, B class, and C class. C class, is you guys, C class consists of 1 and 2 wings. B class are the people with 3 and 4 wings. A class are the people with 5 and 6 wings. And S class, like me are the ones with 1 or 2 full wings. 2 full wings is the highest rank you can attain, and we only have a couple." "So depending our rank decides what quests we can take?" one guy asked "Yes, but we have a lot of quests where higher rankers take lower rankers to quests. Well I got to go, if you need anything, go to the guild hall, we have many people there that are willing to help." As Hiro left, some of the new recruits started to go towards the guild hall, some explored the area, and some, like Scout went to their rooms. Scout got to his room and took a little nap to recover his energy. He woke up after an hour and started walking towards the guild hall. Scout arrived in the guild hall, when he got inside everything was so rowdy, there were people chatting, eating together, some were drunk on beer. Scout didn''t bother them, he just approached the quest board when suddenly someone approached him and asked. "Young blood, looking for a quest?" A guy with a bushy beard and looked like he was in his 30''s asked him. "Yes I am, you got anything for me?" Scout replied back "Yes I do, our guild was hired by a village not far from here to exterminate some lizard men terrorizing their village, the name is Baron by the way." "My name is Scout, nice to meet you" "Nice to meet you too, according to our ''scouts'' the lizard men are about level 25, but the problem is that theres about 500 of them, and were only taking 50 people, and mostly C class." "Why not, they should give me some decent exp" Scout cooly replied "Alright then, let me invite you to the group so that you can get the quest."

Scout closed the window and Baron suddenly shouted "I need 19 more C class to join me for a quest, any one interested?" A group of 5 guys stood up and said "Well go" "Alright, good, any more people?" Baron still talking loudly One after the other more C class joined them until Baron reached his number. "Alright, stock up on food and potions, also repair your gear, we will be headed out in 10 minutes. everyone gather at the gates." Everyone then left and bought their supplies. Scout did not need to buy any supplies, he still had a lot of food, so he only bought 15 level 2 potions that were 1 silver each. He also went to the guilds blacksmith and got his equipment repaired, Scout started walking towards the gate where some people were already starting gather. Scout approached them but didnt say a word, he just leaned back on a wail waiting for the group to gather. After 10 minutes it seemed that everyone had gathered. Baron stood in front and started talking "Alright everyone, our quest is pretty simple, Hoesen village needs some help about some lizard men terrorizing them, and they hired us. We have 40 C class and 10 B class. The B class however are just there to insure that the quest won''t fail, and we B class will be primarily be handling any unexpected events. Other than that, it is you C class will be doing all most of the work, not only will this earn our guild some reputation, this will also make you guys stronger. Is everyone ready?" "HOORAH" everyone in unison replied "Alright! lets get moving, Housen village is only an hour march from here and there won''t be any monsters in our path, Lets move!" Baron shouted and everyone started walking. After an hour of walking they finally arrived at the small village of Housen. "Alright guys, take a quick break, ill go and talk to the chief" Baron told his fellow guild mates and so they took a quick rest, they ate their foods and drank some water. After 5 minutes Baron came back and told them about the details. "100 lizard men are coming here in about 10 minutes to collect the ''protection'' fee that the village chief already used to pay us for our services, of course we won''t be paid if we fail, which we won''t" Baron said with a smile on his face. "So how do we do this Baron?" one of the troops asked him "Nothing special really, do whatever you want, you can go solo, or form a party, whatever I don''t care, but I will deal the first strike and everyone will be hidden until I do so. Also, the first priority while inside the village are the villagers. I brought some capable healers, so just go near them if you are about to die. Also try not to die, I mean, our B class healers can revive you, but you will still loose a level. Anyways, get into position and good luck." Some started parties and others started to spread out solo. Scout was also solo. Scout went near the village entrance, there he would be able to kill a good amount of people from the back, so he put on his mask and went into stealth and waited for the lizard men to come. After 10 minutes, he was still in stealth and fully recovered his mana, and the lizard men finally came, exactly 100 lizard men. They slowly approached the town square where the village chief was waiting. "Hey old man, we''ve come here to collect our protection fee, also the boss told us that next month we want double" One of the lizard men while laughing and the rest of the lizard men snickered. "Why you guys, double?! we already have trouble paying you for this amount!" one of the villagers said. "Calm down you fool, anyways, that is fine, but first please receive this present from us" The village chief pointed to a figure that was covered in in a brown sheet." One of the lizard men approached the sheet and said "Pffft, now you''re giving us gifts? how nice of you hahahahaha" while pulling the sheet a sword swung towards the neck of the lizard man and it instantly died. "Us? oh, we are freedom baby, take em out boys" Baron cooly replied and the 40 C class members popped out from their hiding spots and started slaughtering the lizard men. The moment that Baron swung his sword was the exact moment that Scout had already planted his daggers deep inside 2 of the lizard mens neck. They died instantly that they could not even make a sound and no one noticed that they had died. The 2 lizard men dropped some green scale which Scout picked up immediately. He then proceeded to kill as many of the lizard men as he can, it was easy for him, all of the lizard men were in a state of chaos, so he easily stabbed them in the back of their necks. The lizard men couldn''t even react, after 5 minutes they were all dead. "Good job, you guys did better than I thought, alright gather up, the quest aint over, we have 400 more lizards to kill, we move immediately, the lizard mens base is on top of the hill, lets go!" Baron yelled and they started marching once more. After 5 minutes of marching they saw the place where the lizard men were staying, it was just an area made out of shacks were the lizard men were staying. Baron then suddenly stopped them and said. "Alright we see them, chances are they see us too, be careful here everyone, there might be level 30''s their level 35''s even. But don''t worry, we will take care of the higher leveled ones if you can''t handle them, other than that, go ahead and give them hell" Everyone then started running towards 400 lizard men. Scout went into stealth which made him move faster and started running towards the back of the area. Scout waited until the players in the guild engaged with the lizard men, as soon as they did, Scout started killing lizard men 2 at a time, 1 hit kills. However this time after killing 20 lizard men, they finally noticed him and started attacking him, but Scout easily dodged their attacks and instantly counters every attack that he dodges, he could dodge 3 lizard men attacking him simultaneously, he would still get sometimes, but just a scratch that did not foo too much damage. After 2 minutes of fighting and killing lizard men, Scout noticed that his group was nearing him, so Scout decided to shadow step behind his group and join them there. He did not want any people know how strong he actually was, he just wanted to keep a low profile. The mercenaries easily finished off the 400 lizard men after an hour of battling . Baron approached them and said "Alright guys, that was easy, too bad no elite or no bosses showed up" Baron said with a laugh The troops didnt even have the energy to laugh, they were tired and hungry "Alright, lets go back to the village and get our reward" Baron said with a smirk As they got to the village, the village chief approached them and said "Thank you everyone, please accept this small amount as gratitude." The village chief said with a gentle smile and tears on his face. "No need to thank us, you paid us and we did our job" Baron replied with a smile on his face too.

Any errors pls comment below, ENJOY Good night Chapter 10: Bandits Scout and his group got back to the HQ, and once they got there, they all went their separate ways. Some went to the guild hall to grab more quests, some went to go on an adventure. Scout logged off and went to bed. As soon as Ray woke up, he ate breakfast and took an hour jog. He did his normal routine before logging back on. Scout was now ready for a new journey, he went to the guild hall to look for more quests but there weren''t that many today. He decided to go back to the starting village and look to see if there were any other quests available. Scouts journey wasn''t very tough, as he was traveling by the deep forest, all the wolves avoided him, but he won''t avoid them. Once he saw a wolf, he instantly shadow stepped towards them and instantly killed them. After about 30 minutes of walking Scout finally arrived back at the beginners village. He then went up to the quest board and looked for some quests that he could do. Finally, after a minute of looking, he found the perfect one.
Bounty Eliminate the bandits that have been stealing from caravans and local merchants. They are located inside the forest. Rewards:10 silver per bandit and 2 gold for their boss. Bring the bracelet that they wear as evidence.
After reading this, Scout rushed towards the forest, he was scouring the entire forest until it was dark. He finally gave up. He laid down on the floor and closed his eyes for a couple of seconds, when he opened them, he saw something interesting. There were small huts built on the trees, they were carefully covered with leaves and branches making it hard for people to see them unless if they look really hard. ''It was weird why I could not find them, they must be up on those huts'' Scout thought while climbing a tree towards the top. When he got to the platform, Scout noticed that the establishment was bigger than he thought, there were at least 20 huts throughout the entire forest. There were also a couple of guards stationed at some of the huts. Scout slowly approached one of the guards. Scout placed his hand on the guards mouth to prevent the guard from screaming and he stabbed the guard right in the neck, it instantly killed the guard. Scout grabbed the bracelet of the guards hand and dropped the dead body towards the ground. Scout then entered the first hut, he saw more bandits, but they were sleeping. This was the perfect opportunity to kill them all, they would not put up any resistance. Scout slowly approached one of the sleeping bandits and stabbed him right in the heart. He grabbed another bracelet and proceeded to go towards 2 more bandits sleeping side by side. Both of the bandits each received a dagger in their hearts. Since the bandits were at level 30, Scout got some good exp and gained a level before moving on to the next hut. The next hut that Scout visited was fairly easy, there were no guards, so he easily entered the hut and killed the bandits sleeping inside. Scout easily managed to kill the bandits with ease because they did not put up any resistance. He gained 3 more levels. He cleared the entire establishment except for 2 huts. One of which housed the bandit leader, and one housed a couple more bandits. Scout first approached the one with the remaining bandits. He entered the hut and only saw 2 sleeping bandits. Scout approached one of them and stabbed the bandit in the heart, but Scout got careless, the bandit managed to let out a small noise that woke up the other sleeping bandit. "Who are you?!" The bandit exclaimed Scout shadow stepped towards the bandit and whispered in his ear. "Sleep tight." Scout then stabbed him in the heart which killed the bandit instantly. "One more bandit to go" Scout said with a big smile on his face. Scout approached the last hut, and slowly approached the bandit leader that was sleeping, but suddenly the bandit leader woke up, Scout was caught off guard, he wasn''t in stealth, and it was too late to stealth, the bandit leader already saw him. "Who are you?! You are not one of my men." The leader exclaimed. "Me? Im here for your bounty" "Foolish young boy, do you really think that you could kill me?! Guards! Come here and kill this man! Hahahahaha just you wait till my men get here and you are dead." "Well I won''t give them the chance!" Scout shouted and he shadow stepped in front of the bandit leader since the bandit leaders back was up against the wall. "WHAT THE F-" As Scout was about to stab the bandit leader, the bandit leader reacted fast enough and blocked the blow with his sword. Scout did not let up, he kept slashing and stabbing but the bandit leader would block it, but he could not block all of them. "WHAt ARE MY MEN DOING?!" The bandit leader was in a state of panic, his HP was rapidly going down. The bandit leader pushed Scout making him stumble on the ground. IM IN DANGER!" Scout shadow stepped towards the back of the leader and whispered in his ear "No one is coming to help you, they are all dead, and you are going with them" With a swing from Scout''s dagger, the bandit leaders head flew right off. Scout got another level. He also picked up a ring that the bandit leader dropped, and it was a good one too.

He also got a green tiered ring. He gathered 50 bandit bracelets, and 1 bandit leader bracelet. Overall, he had gotten quite the profit. And all of this with no trouble at all. Scout was back in the town, he went to the local shop and sold all of his loot. He got 73 silver from all of the loot that he sold. He then walked towards the town hall where all of the bounties are turned in. Scout got to the town hall, it was a small building, well kept. Scout walked in and approached one of the windows where players can turn in their bounties. "Excuse me, I''m here to turn in a bounty" "Ah yes, which bounty would you like to turn in?" "The bandit one, over by the forest" "Ah good, those bandits have been pestering us for a while now, so how many did you get? 3? 4? maybe even 5?" "Uhm.... I think I got all of them, also got the leader too." "Hahahaha don''t be joking young man, so how many did you get?" The teller asked while laughing. '' . . . '' Scout just handed over the 50 bracelets and 1 more bracelet for the bandit leader. *gasp* "bu-but, th-thats" The teller was shocked and couldn''t say anything "Can I have my money now please? 10 silver per bandit and 2 gold for the leader." Scout said while reaching his and asking for the money. "Ah, I''m sorry, lets see, thats 1 gold, 2 gold, 3 gold, 4 gold, 5 gold and 2 more for the bandit leader, heres your 7 gold" The teller then gave Scout his money and Scout left the area. Scout had nothing to do so he figured that he would go back to the HQ. As Scout left the gate, He noticed that there was 2 people following him, and following him with ill intentions. Scout let them follow him deeper inside the forest where not many people would notice him. As Scout was deep enough in the forest the 2 people tailing him approached him and said. "Hey there buddy, why don''t you give us that huge amount of money you got from the teller?" '' . . . '' Scout just ignored them "Theres 2 of us, and we are deep in the forest, no one will help you, so hand it over and we won''t kill you." "We will see about that" Scout said with a sigh. "Why you little shi-" His words were cut off because before he could finish talking, Scouts dagger was already buried deep behind his back. "WHAT THE HELL?!" The last guy standing exclaimed Scout then went into stealth "WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?!" The guy started panicking, but Scout was fast, and even more faster when in stealth. The guy wanted to run, but it was too late, before he could even take his first step, Scout was already behind him, and 2 stabs to the back and he was dead. As Scout left the forest and headed towards the HQ, the sun was setting. "A perfect view ending a perfect day" Scout conveyed with a smile. [/tr]

Chapter 11: Escort Mission Scout had arrived at the guilds HQ, when he got there it was busier than he last remembered, he asked around and it turns out that a caravan arrived and hoping to hire the Free Wing Mercenaries for escort. Scout did not care much, so he went towards the guild hall and looked if there were any jobs, then someone grabbed him and a familiar voice spoke. "Hey, Scout right?" "Yeah, good to see you again Baron" "Good to see you too Scout, so how about another mission?" Baron asked Scout "What kind of mission?" Scout replied "You''ve seen the caravan right? Its gonna be an escort mission, its gonna be a big one, they''re planning to hire 50 people" "Whats the catch?" Scout asked with uncertainty "What do you mean?" "Well 50 people is a bit too much for 1 caravan right?" "They have 10 carriages man, and it''s only half a day trip, it shouldn''t be too hard, and besides, we have an A class coming along so that the mission won''t fail." "How much is the pay?" Scout asked again "10 gold per person, thats a lot of gold for half a day" "Alright" Scout nodded "Okay cool, head over to the gate, we will be leaving soon, speak to the A class, his name is Cyril he will inform you more of the situation, I just have to repair my equipment and ill be right over" Scout walked towards the gate and sure enough he saw the 5 wings in one mans arm signifying that he was an A class, Scout approached the man and said. "Id like to join the escort mission." "I see, whats your rank?" "C class sir" "Hahaha no need to be formal, alright what class?" Scout hesitated for a moment and said "Assasin" "Okay, have you been debriefed?" "Only a little, all I know is that were escorting the caravan to somewhere" "Yeah, there is a bit more to that, were actually escorting them to an open field, they will be pioneering a new village, were helping them so that when they become a city, we have good relations with them." "I see" "Okay, get ready, we will be leaving in about 10 minutes" Scout then went to the guild blacksmith and got his armor repaired, and he came back to the gate. There was not anyone there yet so he decided to rest below a tree. One by one people gathered and sure enough after 10 minutes, everyone was there. The guild had gathered 30 C class, 19 B class and 1 A class. "Alright listen up! C class, like always you guys will be doing most of the work, but when things get tough we will take over" Cyril said with a loud voice. "YES SIR" all of the C class replied "We included you C class because the monsters won''t be that of a high level, this will good experience for you, and do note that the B class will be watching you, so impress them and you might just get a promotion. B class, I will be watching you" Cyril exclaimed "HOORAH" everyone roared in unison "Okay lets move out, spread out evenly throughout the entire caravan." Throughout the entire journey, there were some monsters that would try to attack the caravan but they would easily be killed. The halfway mark was a very thick forest with lots of trees. Scout was walking up on the tree branches so he had a good visibility, over to the side of the road which the caravan was using was a slope, and up on those slope Scout saw something, it was a blur at first but after a couple of seconds he can finally picture what he saw. "BANDITS UP ON THE SLOPE!" Scout shouted Everyone came to a complete stop. "ARCHERS! ARROWS INCOMING!" Scout shouted once more "SHIELDS! Warriors, shields up!" Cyril shouted as the rain of arrows came pouring down The entire guild shifted towards the side where the slope was, they had about 25 warriors lined up with shields. "Mages and archers, return fire! Warriors, slowly advance upwards!" Cyril shouted. 9 mages and 10 archers returned cover fire. "Assasins stealth up and flank the enemy! HURRY! their warriors are coming down! Cyril again shouted. This was Scout''s cue, he went into stealth along with 5 other thiefs/rouges. They hurriedly started running towards where the enemy archers were, there were about 50 archers. Scout was the first to arrive behind enemy lines and started killing the archers. They were easy to kill, they had light armor on so only a couple of stabs on their backs and they were dead, Scout killed about 10 archers before the rest of the assassins popped up and started killing the rest of the archers. All that was left were the 100 warriors, but by the time that they finished killing the archers, only about 80 were left, so they ran down the slope and started killing the warriors as well. In about 30 minutes, the fight was over. All thats left was the bandit leader, which was very persistent. Even the B class would have trouble with him, but Cyril instantly killed the bandit leader with a few swings from his big sword. "Any casualties?" Cyril asked "None" one said "Don''t think so" another replied "The caravan?" Cyril asked once more "All good" One of the people in the caravan said "Okay good, by the way, who was it that warned us about the enemy?" Cyril asked Scout did not want to stand out or get recognition so he slid down his mask and said. "I think it was one of the people in the caravan" "I see, nonetheless, without that warning we would have lost some people and some carriages." Cyril replied They started looting the bodies, there weren''t much, just some white tiered armor and weapons, also some loot that can be sold to stores. Scout got 2 levels, he did not keep track of how many he killed, all that mattered to him was that he got some levels and was now level 30. After the fight Scout noticed that his daggers were slightly giving off a dark aura, but it was hard to notice since it was already black, but he looked closely enough to actually notice, so he inspected it. Scout was shocked, it has been a while before he checked the stats of his daggers, and last time he checked his daggers were still white tiered, now they were Green tier and giving 2 bonus attributes. ''WOW this thing is amazing, I knew it was good, but to be this good . . . '' Scout was staring at his daggers blankly when Cyril ordered everybody to move out. After a couple more hours of walking, they finally arrived at their destination. "Thank you very much, heres your payment" the caravan head handed Cyril a bag of gold coins and Cyril distributed it to the troops. "Thanks for the business, alright guys, were going back home, lets make it before midnight and have a party!" Cyril shouted and riled up all of his people. "YEAH!" "WOOOHOOO" "LETS GO!" "LETS MOVE OUT" Cyril shouted Scout and the other mercenaries got back to their home and they were headed straight to the guild hall where the bar was. They were partying, they ate good food, sang joyous songs, drank good beer, and dancing to the tune. Scout sat down near the bar and had a few drinks of his own. "Long day?" The bartender asked Scout "Yeah, long day, thanks for the beer" Scout said his goodbye''s to the bartender and went to his room. He went right to bed and logged off. [/tr]

"Settle down everyone, I have an important announcement to make." It was Evan, the guild leader Everyone then settled down and payed attention to Evan. "I want to make our guild stronger so that we can make an impact on world of Square One, for those of you who did not know, there may be a war between Chronos and Isris. And if a war does break out, we need everyone geared up and ready to go. If it doesn''t, I still want everyone to be strong and ready. So I want everyone here to be at least level 50. So I want everyone to power level, however, I do not want any people to be ''boosted''. You will level up to your own accord, I do not care if you group up with your friends, or if you go solo. All I want is for you to be stronger due to your hard work. For those of you who are already level 50 and above, then go level some more. The stronger we become, the better." Scout replied "Our Town chief needs you immediately" Scout went over to the Town chief, he was an old man with a long beard and one arm. The chief approached Scout and said. "Are you the one that killed all those bandits?" "Yes I am, how may I help you?" Scout asked "Well, since you are strong enough to kill those bandits, can I ask of you a favor? There is this cave where the strongest of the wolves reside, and inside one of those caves is an one eyed wolf that had taken my arm, please regain my honor by killing that wolf."

As Scout stepped inside the cave he got a notification.

Scout was surprised, it was 10 levels higher than him. But Scout did not want to waste a single moment of his double exp. He shadow stepped towards behind the wolf and stabbed it in the neck, it did not die, and started attacking Scout. Scout was already used to the wolf''s movements, they practically moved the same way as the regular brown wolf, but these wolves would throw in some random attacks in their pattern. As usual Scout would dodge and attack at the same time. After 5 minutes of fighting, Scout finally managed to kill the first wolf. The wolf dropped its hide and some other loot that could be sold in a shop. After picking up his items, Scout once more saw another wolf and re did his tactic, but now he could kill it faster because he was more accustomed to the wolfs pattern. Scout killed a couple more one by one. He can now handle 2 wolves at a time, but he would still get hit, but just barely a scratch, posing no danger to his life. Scout got a level, making him kill the wolves even more faster. Scout got deeper into the den and killed more and more wolves, he can now manage 3 at a time. Scout stayed there the whole day, by the end of the day, he had killed almost 100 wolves. He decided to back off and come back the next day, his equipments durability were getting low and he was tired. He had gained 4 more levels before leaving. Scout decided to go to an inn and not the adventurers guild. The inn was more peaceful then the adventurers guild. He then went to bed and when he woke up, he went to the blacksmith and got his armor repaired, he went to the general goods store and bought some smoked meat. He also went to the Pharmacy shop to buy potions. He bought potions so that he does not need to take that of a long break while fighting the wolves. Scout sold his loot and headed straight back towards the den. Scout entered the den and all of the wolves had already respawned, This was good for Scout, he could kill them all again for their loot and experience. Scout then went ahead and started his slaughter. He easily cleared the den and gained 3 more levels. Scout was now stronger. But something was off, Scout could not find the Wolf King, when he got to the end of the den, he found something interesting, there was a ramp going downwards. And like any other adventurers, he went ahead and started to go down. When he got there, he was surprised, there was now a different colored wolf in front of him

"OH COME ON!" Scout shouted in disbelief as a big black wolf was running towards him. Scout easily dodged the wolf, they all had similar attack patterns, Scout was able to deal with it properly. One by one he handled them, and soon enough he could handle 2 at a time. But after fighting the brand new monsters for an hour and gained a level, Scout then got fatigued and decided to make camp near the second floor entrance where no wolf would approach him. As a precaution Scout made a small like cave where he could set up camp, he covered it with bushes and leaves so that no wolf would find him. Scout then went ahead and ate his smoked meat and went to sleep. Scout had been playing for 9 hours straight, or 36 hours in game. So he decided to log off. Ray stepped out of his Egg and headed straight to bed, he was tired from playing the game, he needed a goods nights rest. Ray soon woke up and did his morning exercise, he then took a shower, ate breakfast, and checked the forums for any new news. Apparently The top leveled player is now level 170. No other interesting things are happening, just some small guild battles. Negotiations were still happening between Chronos and Isris. He was now ready to take on the next floor. Scout slowly entered the next floor of the dungeon. This time, Scout felt something different, he felt an intimidating aura. As he descended further down the den, He arrived at the fourth floor, but this time, it wasn''t filled with wolves, this time, the place was smaller, and it only inhabited one wolf. It was the wolf king. But this one was different, it was huge, it was a size of a fully grown horse, it was taller than Scout. It only has one eye, And the color was what amazed Scout, it was pure black. But there was no time to be amazed, the wolf king had already launched itself towards Scout. Scout could not react fast enough, the wolf king was way too fast, instead he held up both of his daggers and blocked the claws of the wolf king. Even though Scout successfully managed to block the attack, the pressure of the attack still managed to damage him. He lost 105 Hp in one go, he quickly drank one level 2 potion that filled up his health bar just below full. Scout went into stealth, but the wolf king had a good sense of smell and easily threw its claws to where Scout was, but since Scout was faster in stealth mode, he managed to Successfully dodge the attack. He dodged and dodged, leaving him no room for attack. Scout had managed to successfully lure the wolf king towards a wall, the moment the wolf king threw its claw towards Scout was the moment Scout shadow stepped behind it. The wolf king''s claw was stuck inside a crack within the wall. Scout took this chance and mounted the wolf and started a flurry of stabs in the back. As the wolf was howling and crying, it finally managed to get free and managed to dismount Scout, but Scout had already done enough damage towards it to slow it down. The wolf king threw more claws towards Scout, but due to its injury, Scout easily dodged them while throwing a counter. As time went by, The wolf kings attack grew slower, and Scout''s attacks had gotten faster. It had gotten to the point where Scout would not get damaged at all. 30 minutes had passed, and they were still going at it, but the wolf had shown a sign of weakness, it''s legs had started to shake, Scout took this chance to finish it off. Scout shadow stepped 15 yards up into the air. The wolf was confused and happy, it had thought that it finished off Scout, but it was wrong, the wolf king rested, but that was its final mistake. Scout used the momentum of his fall to point his whole body downwards with his two daggers at the front. Scout accurately aimed towards the wolf king''s head. As Scout''s daggers made contact with the wolf king''s head, a howl could be heard for a split second before Scout fell to the ground. A huge pile of dust lay on the ground where the wolf king was. The wolf king was no more. Scout was in the brink of death, he received a good amount of damage from the fall, he ran out of potions so he had to recover his health slowly. Scout gained 2 levels, he was now level 50. Scout went to the pile of dust and checked if the wolf king had dropped any loot. And it did, it dropped a necklace made out of wolfs teeth.

Scout went over to the leather working shop in order to get new armors made out of the elite wolf hides that he got. He approached the old lady and said. "Excuse me, can I get some armor made out of these materials?" Scout grabbed the white elite wolf hides and placed them on the counter. "Oh wow, these are pretty good quality leather you got here young man, but I''m sorry, with my skills, these would be wasted in my hands." The old lady replied with a sad face. "I see, do you happen to know where I can find an alternative leather worker?" "If I am not mistaken, there should be a decent leather worker at the city closest to here, Hoelbrak City, about a days worth of travel by foot." "Thank you very much" Scout bowed his head and left. Scout went to the store and sold of the loot that he had picked up on the wolf''s den. He then went to the market and sold the brown and black hides from the elite wolves. He kept the white ones for himself. "Come and buy these good quality wolf hides! level 45-50 material here folks, buy them now and make craft them into armor! You won''t be disappointed, Limited stock!" Scout shouted A crowd formed around Scout and was amazed at the wolf hides that Scout had gotten. "How much for the hide?" A person asked "50 silver each for the brown hides and 75 silver for the black ones" Scout retorted "Thats a bit too much don''t you think?" The person asked again. "Considering that these hides are from elite wolves and not regular ones, they are pretty cheap, and besides, you should be able to get green tier equipment out of these hides. Most people don''t get green tier equipment until they reach their first city. Imagine having green tiered equipment at a beginner village, you''ll have a good start." "That does make sense, all right, give me 10 of each." the person said. Scout handed over 20 hides and received his money. "Thank you ver much" Scout said "Hey ill buy 10" One person said "Me too" another one shouted "Can I have 2 black ones please?" "6 Brown ones please" It did not take 10 minutes for Scouts hide to sell out. He had gained 125 gold. He could have gotten more if he raised the price, but he was in a hurry to get to Hoelbrak City. Scout planned on walking on foot, but he got some information at the adventurers guild that a person can take a carriage to take you to major cities and towns. Scout started running towards the gate, carriages appear every 3 hours. Scout got to the gate and barely catches the carriage, it was about to leave when Scout yelled. "WAIT!" The carriage stopped and the driver turned to Scout and asked. "What do you want?" "Can I get a ride? you''re headed to Hoelbrak right?" "Yeah, hop on kid, but its gonna cost you 5 gold." Scout handed over 5 gold and sat at the back of the carriage where a couple more adventurers were. After an hour of their ride, A bandit group had started running towards the carriage, it wasn''t rare for bandits to strike carriages, they often carry supplies. "BANDITS! YOU ADVENTURERS TAKE CARE OF THEM!" the carriage driver shouted. "Good, I was bored anyway, about 50 bandits? ill handle this, you guys sit back and enjoy the show" A broad muscular guy said and stood up holding a giant broadsword. The sword was taller than the man himself. "Don''t be crazy, I don''t want my carriage to be damaged, all of you go!" The driver shouted once again. "Fine fine" Another person stood up but this time it was an elegant elf with a bow. They both jumped out of the carriage. "You guys coming or what?" The elf said. "Im a healer, so I''m just gonna stay back here" A human female said. "I guess I have no choice, ill tank them, I''m a knight." Another person said. "Fine" Scout said with sigh Scout stood up and jumped off the carriage along with the other people. Scout didnt need to waste his mana on low level bandits, they were about level 30 bandits, and the group on the carriage were at least level 50. So Scout decided to fight along side the group. Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit. The knight would get the attention of the bandits by using its skill "Aggro" Which forces monsters/NPC''s to attack them. The healer would of course heal the knight since he was the one taking the most damage. The elf would just shoot her arrows from afar. But whats most amazing about this is the guy with the huge sword, every swing he took, he instantly kills 2 or 3 bandits. Scout just confronted the bandits head on. Scout ran deep through the enemy lines while slashing any bandits he goes through. He slashes one in the neck with his dagger while he stabs one in the back. He just went through them like they were paper. Every step he took, death followed. He was so fast that the bandits didnt even have time to react. They died one by one. The only thing the bandits see before they die is Scouts face right in front of them. Others would not even see. By the time they try to attack, they were already dead. It only took about 10 minutes to finish of all the bandits. Then they got into the carriage and continued on with their trip. "Hey kid, you did better than I expected, I even thought you were gonna die hahaha" The guy with a sword said while laughing. "Heh, thanks, it wasn''t much" Scout replied "Why don''t you join us?" The guy with the big sword said. "Join you for what?" Scout asked back "Were actually planning to make a guild" Scout lifted up his sleeve and showed his wing, his guild mark. "Im already in one" Scout said "Thats too bad" The big guy with a sword said. The carriage came to a full stop when the big guy said something to Scout. "Well my name is Wolf, the elf with the bow is Nera, the timid girl with the staff over there is Scarlet, and that more than average looking guy over there is Gus." Scout pulled down his mask revealing his entire face and said. "My name is Scout, if you guys ever need help, the guild that I am on is a mercenary guild, we will help you . . . With a fee of course" Scout said while letting out a small laugh. "Alright, nice meeting you Scout, before I forget, let me add you to my friends list" Wolf said "Add me too man" Gus said too "Might as well add me too" Nera said "Me too please" Scarlet said Scout added them all into his friends lists and they went their own separate ways. Scout had gotten inside the city, it was way different than the town. The streets were paved, the streets were cleaner, and the city was way more livelier, there were shops of all kinds, bread shop, meat shop, skill book shops and many more. Imagine what the capital holds. Scout directly went towards the leather working shop so that he can his new armor. He approached the store keeper, it was a big guy about mid 40''s he looked like a blacksmith so Scout was not sure if he had come to the right place. Scout approached the counter and said. "Excuse me" "Ah, yes? How can I help you today? The store keeper asked. "Can you please make armor out of these?" Scout said while pulling out a huge amount of white wolf hide. "Oh wow these are good quality stuff you got there. Yeah, someone like me should be able to make something for you." "Ah, thank you very much, how much would it cost me for a full set?" Scout asked worried "30 gold should be enough" The store owner said "I see, is it possible to dye it black?" Scout asked "Yeah, it should be possible, it is gonna cost you an extra five gold though. But why would you want to change this beautiful white into black?" "I don''t want to stand out you see." Scout replied and handed over 35 gold and enough white wolf hide. "I see, ill get right on it." "By the way, do you want to buy the rest of the hides?" Scout asked "You have more of these things?!" The storeowner asked almost falling to the ground. Scout handed enough to make 3 more sets. "OMG, ill take them, ill buy the whole lot for 100g" "Okay, thank you very much. And how long will the armor take?" "He came from the capital, also he is a master blacksmith and apparently he can create armors too, he made me a decent set." "That is interesting! Can you bring him to HQ right away?" Cain asked Scout lifted up his sleeve and showed Cain his guild mark "They will have a similar mark as me, and once you get to HQ, you will have one as well" "Okay, thank you very much." "No, thank you, well I have to go now, ill see you in HQ soon." Scout said and left. Scout walked over to the quest board, even though he already reached the requirements for the guild, he still wanted a little bit more in order to help out the guild better. Since Hoelbrak is a city, there are more quests available, and the crime rate is higher too. Since the crime rate is high, there are a lot of bounties and city protecting quests. Scout had 4 days left before the guild meeting, so he had 2 more days to spend in Hoelbrak before he leaves to go back to HQ. After looking and looking, Scout found the perfect quest.

This was a perfect opportunity for Scout to raise his skills and level up. Criminals were either NPC''s or Players. Scout then started patrolling the city from the rooftops where he would have a good view of things. He ran near alley ways where more crime''s are bound to happen, as he was patrolling he had found his first victim. It was a player trying to rob another player. There was a clear level difference between the two. "HAND OVER YOUR MONEY!" "Please I don''t have much" "I DONT CARE, GIVE THEM TO ME OR YOU WILL DIE HERE." "Okay okay, please don''t kill me" "hehehehe thats a good dog, NOW DIE!" The robber was about to swing his sword, but before he could swing his sword, Scout had already planted a dagger behind the guy''s back. The robber fell over leaving only a dead body behind. Scout bent over and picked up the bag containing the money. "Please don''t kill me, you can keep the money" the guy begged for mercy. Scout just threw the money towards the guy without saying a word and just shadow stepped back up to the roofs. "Quest Information"

Scout proceeded to patrol more, sticking close to the alleys. After a few more minutes of patrolling, Scout found another set of victims, 2 robbers trying to break in a store through the back door. Scout was squatting up on the roof and asked the two robbers. "So what you guys doing?" "What?! Who?! Where are you?!" one of the guys asked "Im up here idiots" Scout retorted. "What the hell are you doing here?!" "I could ask you the same thing" Scout wittingly replied "Come down here and ill tell you" The guys said with a pretty evil grin "Oh yeah, you want me to come down there so that you could kill me? Oh I will come down alright, but you better be prepared." "We aint scared of you, theres 2 of us!" "Oh we will see about that" Scout said Scout immediately disappeared from their sight. They were shocked, but before they could even react, Scout had already planted his daggers behind their backs. "Heh, this isn''t so bad" Scout said while moving on to find more victims

Night soon fell upon the city and new wave of criminal activity is about to rise. When night fell, Scout once more took to the roofs and started patrolling. He found his first victim walking around in an alley, his first victim was a player with a player killer mark on him. Scout jumped down carefully making sure that the player killer won''t notice him. He then slowly approached the player killer from the front. "Hehehe so early and I already found my prey" The PK''er said. ". . ." Scout stayed silent "Hahahaha so scared that you can''t even speak? Don''t worry you''ll die a quick death." "You too will die a quick death" Scout whispered. "What did you say?" The PK''er asked confused Scout immediately shadow stepped in front of the PK''er and slashed his neck. "I said, you are dead" Scout said while the PK''er fell to the ground. Scout then left the area and started patrolling once more. As Scout was patrolling he found something interesting, it was an entrance to the sewers. But what was most interesting about this was that a PK''er came out of it. Of course it could have just been a PK''er hiding. Scout killed the PK''er and after couple of minutes, another PK''er came. Scout killed the other PK''er. Scout thought it was just a coincidence, but soon another one popped out front the sewers. This time, Scout didnt kill the PK''er but instead approached him. "Hey, is there a party going on down there?" Scout asked with a smile "What the hell, who are you?! You aint our member" the PK''er replied with a confused look. "I see what it is, this is your HQ huh?" "Yeah, so what? you think you can take our guild by yourself?" Scout shadow stepped behind the PK''er''s back and whispered "We will see about that" Before the PK''er could react, Scout had already killed him. Scout ventured into the sewers, into the HQ of a PK''er group. Scout encountered his first PK''er''s they were guarding a door of some sorts. ''must be the entrance'' Scout thought Scout went ahead and went into stealth. He slowly approached the two guards that were standing side by side. Scout then pulled out his daggers and planted one dagger on one guards heart, and the other dagger planting it on the other guards neck. Instant death for the two of them. Scout opened the door but that was a mistake that he had taken. Scout thought that the door would open up to another set of sewers, but he was wrong. The door opened up to a huge room where almost 200 PK''ers were gathered. "Well well well. What do we have here?" One of the PK''er said "Looks like someone has a death wish." Another one said They all started laughing. Scout was stiff as a rock, before he could leave, the door had already closed behind him. "Lets have some fun boys!" A PK''er shouted "YEAH" they all shouted in unison They all slowly approached Scout and surrounding him in a circle. Scout was in the middle of the circle still stiff as a rock, he knew he was screwed, but he did not make any sudden movements, he had to wait for a perfect opportunity to escape. "Okay, 200, you are up, go deal with him" Someone shouted in the background. "YEAH LETS GO 200!" one said "BEAT HIM INTO A PULP!" another shouted After a couple of seconds of cheering, a PK''er stepped into the circle. Scout fully understood the situation, they were making him into a game. Scout decided to move first while 200 was still distracted. Scout ran towards 200 holding his daggers by his side. 200 noticed Scout and went into a defensive position, 200 stood firm on the ground, but Scout was fast enough to go to the back and stab 200 dead. "WOOOOO! HES BETTER THAN WE THOUGHT!" A voice shouted while 200 fell to the ground dead. They all laughed in unison. "199! You are up!" "YES SIR" Soon enough, another person came out, but this time, this person started sprinting towards Scout with a sword. Scout easily dodged the attack and threw in a stab. 199 then started a flurry of slashes, and all Scout could do was dodge. Finally the flurry of swords had let up and Scout took this chance to instantly slash the PK''ers neck and stab him in his side. 199 dropped dead instantly. "198, 197 go and have some fun." This time an archer and a mage come out. They both started shooting arrows and spells towards Scout, but Scout easily dodged left and right while slowly approaching them. The closer Scout got, the more their faces got distorted. Soon enough, Scout had finally reached them. Since mages have low defense, the mage died easily after a few slashes. One by one they started charging at Scout, They swung and shot at him, but he would always dodge. The PK''er''s were not in any rush to kill Scout, they wanted to have fun with him, so at most they would only send 3 at a time. About an hour had passed and Scout seemed to killed countless of people that he even leveled up by one. But soon enough, Scout finally got tired of fighting countless of enemies. He made a fatal mistake, he had let his guard down when an arrow hit his leg rendering him immobile. That was it for Scout, it was his end, One by one slashes would go through, he could not dodge anymore, He already ran out of strength to block. After five minutes of struggling, Scout finally dropped dead taking a couple PK''er''s more with him.

5 minutes had passed and Scout was forced kicked out of the game. Ray stepped out of his Egg and decided to take a little nap, fighting PK''ers took a toll on his mental fatigue. After Ray took his nap, He decided to go to the school to buy his books and other things that he needed, School will start in 5 days. After buying his things, Ray went to the convenience store and bought some provisions. He went back home and logged back in, more than 3 hours had passed already. Scout awoke near the city fountain. Scout had 2 days left before the guild meeting, he decided to go back. Scout first of course went to the city hall to turn in his quest. "Hello, how may I help you?" A city hall employee asked "Im here to get my rewards for defending the city" Scout replied "I see, and what is your name?" "Scout" "Scout, lets see here . . . okay I found it, lets see. . . Number of nights protecting the city, 1" The employee let out a small laugh. ". . ." Scout just state silent "Im sorry its just really funny." ". . . " "Okay okay, lets see . . . Number of Criminals apprehended . . . HOLY CRAP! 56 people?! In just one day?!" "Yes, can I please have my gold now? I have to leave." "Ah alright, here you go" The employee handed over 6 gold and 60 silver. "Thank you" Scout then said his goodbyes and left. Scout went to the city entrance where a carriage was headed towards Jagsen Village. He paid the 5g fee and got on the back. This time, there were no bandits attacking them on the way back. Soon enough they had reached Jagsen village and Scout decided to walk back towards HQ. Once he got there, he was greeted by Hiro, a guild officer. "Scout, there you are! The blacksmith Cain that you had sent is perfect! He can make weapons and he can also make armors! AMAZING!" "I see, so what do you need from me sir?" Scout asked "Im here to give you another wing, you are now officially a two winged mercenary, congratulations!" "Thank you sir" Scout said and Hiro left. Scout went to his room and went to bed.

All 300 members were present at their meeting. After a few minutes of chattering, Evan, the guild leader finally stood up a podium and started talking. "Sette down everyone, settle down" and everyone stopped talking. "As you guys know, War is gonna break out" Evan said with a huge smile on his face *CHEER* everyone cheered in unison "I have some good news and some bad news." Evan said again Everyone went silent. "The bad news is that no one has hired us to participate in the war, this is very understandable since we are still a small group. But the good news is that we are still going to be participating in the war." *CHEER* "We will make a name for ourselves!." Evan shouted while arms raised up high. Everyone once again cheered "The war will be in a week, I would like to take this time to work on our teamwork. Me and the other guild officers will be our commanding officers. Each of you will be assigned under a guild officer, this way the teamwork training would be easier. Thiefs and assassins will have the choice to join a commanding officer, or join a task force consisting only of thief''s and assassins, you will mostly work solo, but will work in teams if officially needed." Everyone started talking, they were all happy on the decision. Scout was especially happy, he did not want to be under a commanding officer fighting in the front lines. Scout was going to join the thief and assassin task force, where he would be best suited. "Okay everyone, check the quest board, you will be randomly assigned to a commanding officer, but don''t worry if you have close friends already in the guild, we can switch things up so that you will be together so that teamwork is more efficient. Those of you that want to join the ''Shadow Wings'' which is the thief''s and assassins task force, please find your name and cross it out. Also, if you are planning to join the ''Shadow Wings'' please do so immediately, the task force will be leaving early, and will be leaving today." Evan said while keeping a very happy face. Scout immediately rushed towards the quest board and crossed out his name. He then slowly walked towards the meeting area for the ''Shadow Wings'' which was marked on the map on the quest board. As he approached the meeting area, there were already a couple of thieves and assassins gathered, they all of course looked like Scout in terms of clothing. They all wore black and they all wore masks, some masks would cover half of their face from the nose down just like Scouts, and the other masks would cover their entire face leaving only an opening for their eyes. There were people who wore capes and robes to add to their mysteriousness. An hour had passed and 23 thief''s and assassins had signed up for the Shadow Wings, of course within the guild there were more theirs and assassins, but some of them wanted to fight in the front lines. Everyone in the area kept to themselves, there were some who would talk to others, some were friends and were together. But almost all of them had their own little space were they would stand or sit on. After the hour had passed, someone arrived. It was a woman with a good figure, but they could not see her face, they only knew that she was a woman because of her figure. The woman took off her mask revealing a complexly beautiful face that would make any male fall admire her and any woman be jealous of her. She then started talking. "Is everyone gathered? Good, my name is Silhouette and I will be the commander of the Shadow Wings, but don''t worry, it is just a formality, it is a title. Everyone that is a part of this group is free to do whatever they want to accomplish a mission, unless if told otherwise." Everyone started murmuring and chatting, then Silhouette started talking again. "Okay, now what I would like right now is for each and everyone of you to show your face and state your name, I have good memory and after a look, I will remember. For the rest of you, you do not need to know the faces and names of your comrades in this task force. All you need to know is that if a person is part of the task force." They all started murmuring once more until finally someone asked a question. "How do we determine if we are part of the group?" The new mark will be black wings, they will still have rankings and they are entirely different from your white rank." Silhouette said with a calm face while crossing her arms. They all had gotten a single black wing. "Okay, now that everyone has gotten their mark, I will state our goal, our mission. The mission of the Shadow Wings is to support our members from the shadows. We will be hidden at all times, we are the support members, but we will determine the tide of battles. We will not get as much recognition from other players, but our guild members . . . No, our family will know how much of an impact we place upon the battlefield, and that is all that matters to us." *CHEER* they all started cheering. "Our first mission is to go the capital and register the guild to join the war. Registration won''t actually start until 3 days from now. And it takes roughly 2 days to go to the capital. Since this is the first war of this scale in Square One, there is a limited number of people that can join the war. Buy your supplies, and repair your gear, we are heading out in 30 minutes!" Silhouette said to her teammates while leaning on a wall. Everyone started to leave except for Scout and Silhouette. Silhouette approached Scout and was confused on why Scout did not leave. "Why are you still here?! Did you not hear me?!" Silhouette asked while scratching her head. "I already have my supplies, and my gear is all fully repaired ma''am" Scout retorted while patting his armor "I see, good for you then" Silhouette said while lifting up her mask trying to hide her embarrassment. She then walked away to a nearby tree waiting for the people to come back. Scout just stood under a tree opposite towards Silhouette. After 30 minutes had passed, everyone was already back and ready to leave. "Okay, has everyone gathered?! Good! Lets move out!" Silhouette shouted They all left their HQ and started walking towards Jagsen Town. Their they personally hired 3 carriages to take them to Hoelbrak City, their ride was paid for by the guild. Once they got to Hoelbrak City, they checked in an inn which was also paid for by the guild. In the morning, they hired again 3 carriages to take them Chronos the Capital. They left in the morning and had arrived late in the afternoon. "Okay we still have a day before the registration, do what ever you want, just don''t die, and be back by tomorrow, we need everyone to be here if we try to register our guild and guild members." Silhouette stated. Everyone started dispersing and did their own thing. Scout went towards the quest board and looked for low level bounties in the capital, which ranged from level 50-60 which was just perfect for Scout. There were a bunch of bandits roaming outside the city perimeter. Scout went ahead and dealt with some of the ones that he could find, he had killed over 200 of them in a span of 5 hours. He had leveled up 3 times and gained 10 silver per kill, he had gotten 20 gold. Scout went over to the inn in which the guild had reserved for them. Scout went to his room and slept peacefully, getting ready for whats to come when he wakes up.

Chapter 18: Registration It was early in the morning when Scout got a notification that stated that all Shadow Wing members are to gather near the city hall where registrations would happen. Scout went to the coordinates that was part of the notification, it was tree among many others, and underneath that tree some members of the Shadow Wings were already there waiting. One by one they had slowly gathered. After a few more minutes of gathering, they were all present. "Okay, I called you guys here because our mission starts now. There is gonna be a couple of NPC''s outside of city hall that would register players to join the war, once again, it is crucial that we register our guild. So our mission for today is that we all spread out and we all go to different NPC''s this way, our chances of getting registered is high." Silhouette said. "When will the registration start?" Someone asked "It will be about 30 minutes from now, so lets move out now, I bet a lot of people are already there waiting." Silhouette stated almost ready to leap and go Then they all spread and went towards the city hall, the outside of the city hall was so crowded that it was hard to get to the front. But Scout managed to get near the front with the help of his skill Nimble Body. When Scout got near to the front he had noticed that people could not get past a certain point, its as if there was a barrier holding them back. "Whats going on here? How come no one is going past that line?" Scout asked a random person in the front "Apparently theres some sort of barrier that won''t allow anyone to get through until registration opens." The stranger replied "I see, thank you" Scout said and took a slight bow After 20 minutes had passed, there was a notification stating that registration will begin in 1 minute. The atmosphere began to heighten, everyone wanted to join the war, people were already making enemies out of their own countrymen. The game Ai stated that only 10,000 players on each side could join the war. Of course NPC''s would be participating in the war, but that won''t count towards the 10,000 players. After a minute had passed, the barrier suddenly lifted, and from there on out it was hell, people had started to push and shove each other, some would purposely trip other people in front of them trying to increase their chances of participating in the war. Scout had a different plan, once the barrier was lifted, he quickly shadow stepped in front of one of the NPC''s and told him. "I would like to register my guild, Free Wing Mercenaries" The NPC was shocked by the sudden appearance of Scout, it took the NPC a second to register Scouts words. "Ah, I see, how many members?" The NPC asked still with a shocked face. "300 members" Scout said "Okay, the guild is now registered and all 300 members can participate in the war" "Thank you very much" Scout said, but then a Region wide notification fell upon everyone.

Everyone that were trying to bring each other down looked up to see who the first person to register was, but they were too late, Scout had already went into stealth just after the confirmation of their guild registering. Everyone was shocked it wasn''t even 10 seconds before the barrier opened and a guild had already registered. Some people were impressed but most were angry, not only did they want to be first, they were angry because they had thought there was a bug or a glitch in the system, some even claimed hacks. Almost everyone was in an uproar. In just a few minutes the Square One forums were flooded by the sudden "Phantom Registration" Scout was long gone before the registrations ended, some people were joyous and were celebrating because they had managed to join the war, while the rest were pouting and started going back home. Scout got a notification to meet back at the same spot where they had all gathered before the registration. He slowly walked there, it wasn''t that far away. After 5 minutes of walking Scout got the meeting point, and most of the members were there already waiting. A few more minutes and all 24 members had gathered. "We did it!" Silhouette cheered raising her arms up high "YEAH! WOOOOO!" everyone shouted "Okay, now the question at hand is, who was it that managed to register us? Not only did that person manage to register us, that person managed to register us first!" Silhouette asked. Everyone did not say anything, no one wanted to claim credit for what they had not done. They were all righteous people. Scout did not want to say anything because it would attract attention, he wanted to keep himself within the shadows. "Well that doesn''t matter, all that matters now is that we managed to register, but our mission doesn''t end here guys, we have another mission, we are going to go into enemy territory" Silhouette said Everyone was confused, they didnt know what that meant, finally someone asked. "Enemy territory?" A person asked with a very confused face. "Yes, we are now to move out towards Isris Kingdom, we will cross the border and do damage from that side. the war won''t officially begin until a week from now, it will take about 3 days for everyone participating to mobilize, and 2 days for preparations, and the last 2 days will be taken to march near the border where the war will begin. We will take our 2 days and head directly towards Isris, and we will have 5 days to ourselves in which we will use to become stronger." Silhouette stated Together they all went towards the border, it took them 2 days riding carriages to get to the border. There was something that they miscalculated, The border was heavily guarded because tensions were high already between Chronos and Isris. But it mattered not to them because they managed to bribe a guard to let them in for 10g per person. * * * * * * * * * In the real world, Square One main headquarters. Day of the war registration "Sir, players from Chronos Kingdom are outraged!" A young person with glasses said "Stop calling me sir and call me Adam, and outraged with what?" Adam replied with a confused look on his face "After 5 seconds of registration opening, Someone already managed to register" the glasses guy said while trying to catch his breath. "Thats amazing, why are they mad then?" Adam asked once more "No one saw the registration happening, when they tried to look, there was no one there, people think it was a bug or a hack." "Hahahaha! Its impossible to hack this game that I have created, and there is now way that this is a bug, the AI Gaia would directly inform me if any hackings are attempted and bug fixes are immediately implemented the minute that they are found." Adam said while laughing "But sir" "Don''t worry Dan, it is not a bug, it must be some sort of skill, check the internet and the forums for videos, someone must have caught it in their in game recording footage" Adam said while still laughing at the idea of a hack. "Okay sir" "Stop calling me sir" Adam said while placing his palm upon his face. * * * * * * * * * * * * Present time, In game The Shadow Wings managed to find an unexplored dungeon after crossing over towards Isris kingdom, it was a perfect location to raise their levels and get stronger. The dungeon was a cave filled with bandits, it was a bandit hideout. They easily managed the dungeon, since they were all capable of stealth, they utilized it to their fullest. Their plan was very simple, they would go in by waves. They split the group into two. The first group would go into stealth and kill 12 people. Once they killed their 12 people, they would wait for their Stealth to cool down, while they were waiting, the second group would go in with their stealth, it was a cycle that was simple and at the same time effective. Scout had gotten 6 levels in four days, he would have gotten a bit more if we went solo, but he was in a party and the experience was split evenly, He was now level 62. Inside the cave, Scout managed to pick up some level 2 herbs that he will later use to make level 2 potions. The Shadow Wings had gotten stronger, most of them had gotten at least 5 levels, they could have gotten more but time was short, The dungeon was bigger than they had thought and their days were up, war was about to begin. The Shadow Wings was ordered to log off and rest up, because during the war, they won''t have anytime to rest.

Ray grabbed a bowl of cereal and started eating it in front of the television, he switched it to the ''Square One'' channel. "Hello everyone! My name is Tom!" Tom said with a smile on his face "And I am Mary, today we are going to witness the very first war! I am so excited!" Mary exclaimed with an excited voice. "Hahaha me too Mary, me too, anyways what can we expect from the very first war?" Tom asked "I don''t know, but thats why we have invited the maker of Square One, Adam!" Mary said while spreading her arms to welcome Adam. Adam walked inside the room and sat down on an empty seat in between the reporters. "Thank you Tom and Mary for having me here." Adam said "It is our pleasure Adam, we have a couple of questions, and our viewers would want some answers" Tom said "Fire away!" Adam said while laughing. "Okay! My very first question is about the topic of the "Shadow Registration" was it a bug or a cheat?" Mary asked first "Hahaha oh no, there is no hacks in the game, and once a bug is discovered it is fixed right on the spot." Adam replied while still laughing. "So what was it Adam?" Tom asked "Our servers record everything that everyone does, and we have access to its footage, I can assure you it wasnt a bug or a cheat, of course I can''t tell you who it was or how that person did it." Adam said "Thats amazing! For now we will leave it at that, we can now focus at the current topic at hand" Mary said "Yes, so about that war, what can we expect out of it?" Tom asked directing the question towards Adam. "We have decided to launch a war because we thought that it was about the right time, of course there are still countless of regions to explore and dungeons to complete, but this war is only just a test, a taste if you may." "What do you mean a taste?" Mary asked with a confused look. "This war is organized between NPC''s, of course we were the ones to trigger it, but soon enough, players would be able to control their own territories, of course we see that now with players owning castles and keeps and villages and such, but soon enough they will be able to expand their lands. They can trigger a war on their own." "That is amazing Adam!" Tom exclaimed with a shocked face "It sure is, but always, this war, even though its in a large scale, its only a test, there won''t be significant changes to territory, the only loss would be countless amounts of life." "So you know the outcome of the war?" Mary asked once more "Oh no, even if we were the ones to trigger it, the players decide the outcome of the war, of course we placed certain limitations towards it, for example, if one side conquers lands up to a certain point, the war will end there. As I said, its a test, its a taste, its a vision for whats more to come." Adam said with a very serious yet happy face. "Thank you very much Adam, I''m afraid thats all the time we have! Im Tom!" "And I am Mary, thank you for watching, and don''t forget to tune in, we will be reporting the war later today!" That was the end of the show, Ray turned the television off and took a shower. He dried himself of and had gotten a change of clothes. Ray did his normal jog, but this time he was headed for another direction, he also stopped by the convenience store and bought some milk, eggs, sausages, bread, rice, and a lot of candy. He continued on with his jog, after 15 minutes of jogging he had arrived at his destination. It was a 2 story building big enough to house 20 people, the sign at the gate said. "Sunny Side Orphanage" It was the orphanage Ray had grown up in. As he was about to walk in he was greeted by an elderly woman. "Ray, we missed you last week, did something happen?!" the elderly woman asked with a concerned voice "Im fine Grandma Helen, I was just busy playing a game, thats all" Ray replied "Thats good, the kids are still sleeping, so you better whip them up some nice breakfast to wake them up." "Will do" Ray replied with a smile on his face. Ray went towards the kitchen and started cooking eggs in different ways, he cooked scrambled, fried, boiled and sunny side up. He had also cooked some sausages that he had bought. He toasted some bread and cooked some rice. After 30 minutes of cooking an orphan finally came down. The little girl ran back upstairs and shouted "Brother Ray is here! He cooked breakfast! everybody wake up!" The little girl then went over to Ray and hugged him. "Good to see you too Gina" Ray replied while hugging her back "We missed you brother Ray" Gina said "I was sort of busy, I''m sorry" "Its okay" Gina said One by one, children came running down, and they all hugged Ray. "Okay guys, breakfast is ready, go and eat as much as you want, I have more eggs and sausages, I also bought some more milk if you need more!" After they had finished eating their breakfast they had started asking Ray questions on where he was and stuff like that. "I will give this to Grandma Helen and she will be the ones to give you the candy, so treat her well okay guys?" Ray once more stated as he handed over more bags of candy to Grandma Helen. "Hahaha you heard what brother Ray said, you better treat me well or you won''t get any candy" Grandma Helen said with a glee full smile. "We always treat you right Grandma Helen, without you we wouldn''t have anywhere else to go, without you we won''t have anyone else" Gina shouted while crying one by one all the children started crying "Hahaha I know you guys do, I love you all, now stop crying and have some candy!" Grandma Helen said with tears in her eyes. "YEAY!" all of the children cheered and ran up towards Grandma Helen, not to get candy, but to hug her. After a few minutes of hugging it out and children eating candy, a young woman about the same age as Ray walked in, she was gorgeous, she was a tiny bit shorter than Ray, but not that much, she has a beautiful natural red hair, her face was perfection, it was slightly covered in freckles that added to her cuteness and prettiness. The girl suddenly screamed and started running towards Ray. "A KIDNAPPER! KIDS HURRY AND RUN!" The girl shouted and grabbed everyones attention. Ray was still too busy looking at the magnificent scene between the children and Grandma Helen. He did not notice the girl screaming and running towards him. The girl suddenly picked up a vase and threw it in Ray''s face. "WATCH OUT!" A child shouted at Ray. When Ray noticed what was going on, it was too late, when he turned his head, all he could see was a vase right in front of him, before he could react, he was already out cold. Ray finally woke up in a bed, he was greeted by Grandma Helen. "You''re finally awake Ray." "What happened?" Ray asked with a confused look. "Claire happened Ray" Grandma Helen said while pointing towards the beautiful red haired Claire. "Im really sorry for throwing a vase at you" Claire said while her hands are at her face trying to hide her embarrassment. "Why would you even throw a vase at me?" Ray asked with confused look. "I thought you were a kidnapper" Claire replied with still covering her face. "And why would I be a kidnapper?" Ray asked with an even more confused look. "I don''t know, I thought you were just one." " . . ." Ray stayed silent with a slight angry face for a few seconds, but after that he and calmed down. "Ray, Claire is volunteering here, she is a nice person, she helps out around the orphanage and she also gets along with the kids pretty well." Grandma Helen said breaking the silence. "I see, well I have to go, I have something important to do." Ray said while slowly picking himself up out of the bed. "I see, come back again next week okay?" Grandma Helen said. "I will, and I will bring more stuff for the kids to do" Ray replied about ready to leave the room. "Uhm . . . It was nice meeting you Ray" Claire said while reaching out her hand for a shake. Ray shook her hand and said. "Yeah. . . . Nice meeting you . . . ." Ray then left the orphanage after saying goodbye to the kids. Ray jogged back towards his apartment, it was almost time for the first war to start. Ray stepped inside the ''Egg'' and logged in. Scout awoke near a forest where other members of the Shadow Wings were waiting. "Is everyone present?" Silhouette asked "Yes" someone said "Good, let the war begin!"

Thanks Chapter 20: War Start The war had officially begun, the war place was set up that each side would each have a keep, a stronghold. The objective of the war is to take the enemy stronghold, in between this two strongholds contain small castles, minor villages, and camps. It was like a game of tug of war. Each stronghold is controlled by an NPC general which oversees the whole battle, however players are the ones to ''own'' the castles and small villages. Of course various strategic points are also available to take, like hills or rivers that works in the advantage of whomever is controlling it.

Both sides had the same amount of people, the deciding factor for the war would be the influence of the players, on how well they do. Once a player dies, he will still have the penalty of loosing one level and not be able to play for 12 in game hours, but the player can log back on, but cannot participate in the war. War had started and blood had started to cover the lands. But that didn''t affect Scout, Scout and the Shadow Wings had only one goal, Attack from behind enemy lines. Their goal was to take out supply caravans, take out any informants, and wreak havoc. The Shadow Wings decided to split up, it would too suspicious if a group of people wearing masks are always together. Some people went as pairs, some went as a small group, and some, like Scout went solo. Scout did not wait move, unlike the rest of the Shadow Wings that needs to plan their moves, Scout had an advantage because of his speed and his skill ''Shadow Step''. He would be hard to catch and kill. Scout decided to target a supply caravan bringing in provisions like food and potions and items as such. He decided to start small so that he won''t attract too much attention. Scout found his first supply caravan. He knew this particular caravan was a war caravan because the caravan was being escorted by Isris guards, even the caravan driver was a guard. There were four guards present, one driving and three escorting. Scout knew he would be able to take on the guards because they were low level infantry. Scout slowly approached the caravan in stealth. Slowly by slowly he crept up towards the moving caravan. He was now within striking distance to a guard to the back. Scout slowly crept up behind the guard and placed his hand on top of the guards mouth and he slit the guard''s throat. The dead guard did not make a sound, the guard dropped something, it was a small coin. Scout picked it up not knowing what it was and so he was going to save it for later. Scout went ahead and slowly approached the next guard, He did the same to this guard, but instead of silting his throat, he decided to stab him in the heart. Another coin dropped which Scout once again picked up. As the guard fell dead, the guards head hit the cart which was carrying supplies making a ''thud'' sound, it attracted the two remaining guards. "What was that?" A guard asked as he turned around to see his comrades dead. "WHAT THE HELL?! BANDITS!" The same guard screamed mistaking Scout for a bandit. "GAAAAAAAAAH" the guard shouted as he ran towards Scout with his sword raised up high. Scout also ran towards the guard. The guard thrusted his sword towards Scout, but Scout easily dodged by stepping to the side. Scout countered with a stab to the side of the guard, but it did not kill the guard. Scout then using the momentum of his run to jump towards the carriage and stabbed and slashed towards the guard driving the carriage. The driver did not have any time to react. By the time the guard had let go of the reins controlling the horses to unsheathe his sword, he was already falling dead. Once again the guard dropped a mysterious coin. "WHO ARE YOU?!" The last guard screamed while pressing down on his wound. ". . ." Scout ignored him and slowly walked towards the guard barely grasping for his life. "Stay away from me!" The guard shouted while trying his hardest to run away, as he tried to run away he tripped. "Please, no, please don''t kill me" The guard plead and begged as he lay on the dirt ground. ". . ." Scout once more did not say anything and just mounted and killed the guard as quickly and as painless as possible. The guard dropped another coin, Scout now had the chance to inspect what the coin was.

Scout finished reading the description and placed the coins in his inventory, as he was placing the coins in his bag, the supply caravan suddenly disappeared, and 5 war coins dropped out of thin air. Scout picked them up, he now had 9 war coins. Some food provisions and some various potions dropped along with the coins, Scout picked them up and went ahead to find more caravans to hunt. Scout really did not have a general idea on which route caravans take. So he decided to walk around hoping to find more enemies. Soon enough he finally found some, but this time it wasn''t a caravan, but this time they were players of Isris. There was two of them. At first glance Scout thought that they were casually running to a destination; but Scout finally noticed their faces, it was faces of despair and fear, they were running away from someone or something. "HURRY!! BEFORE THEY CATCH US!!" One of guys running said *HUFF HUFF HUFF* the other guy did not answer back trying to conserve his energy Scout did not wait any further and jumped out from his cover and stabbed them both in the chest, they were in considerably low health that Scout did not need to backstab, they instantly died. Two coins dropped out of thin air and landed on the ground, as Scout was about to pick it up, he heard a rustling sound from a bush, and after a second something came out, a group of thief''s and assassins that he recognizes to be his comrades, but it seemed that they don''t recognize Scout. "Who are you?" One of the Shadow Wing member asked. "Calm down, were teammates" Scout said while lifting up his sleeve to show his Shadow Wing mark. "Ah, good to see a friendly behind enemy lines." The guy said while taking of his mask. "Same here, so why were those guys running?" Scout asked while he too slid down his mask to show his face. "We found a group of 15, they were lower level than us by around 10, we managed to easily handle them, but those two managed to escape" He said while pointing towards the two corpse right beside them. "I see, sorry for taking your kill, you can have the war coins that they dropped." Scout said while getting ready to toss the two coins that he had picked up. "No need, you killed them, we are on the same team, it''s all good" The guy said while laughing. "I see, thank you very much, well I have to go, I need to get more kills" Scout said while lifting up his mask about ready to leave. "Ah wait, I almost forgot to inform you Silhouette asked us to find as many of the Shadow Wings as we can, and actually you''re the only one left that we need to find." The guy said while reaching out his arm "What for?" Scout asked "One of our members found a supply camp, it''s being guarded by at least 100 people, and we need as many members as we can." Black Lotus said with a smile "My name is Scout nice to meet you" Scout said while reaching out his hand for a hand shake "Nice to meet you too, now let us move, we need to get there before sundown so that we have a visual of the place." Black Lotus said. Scout, Black Lotus, and 5 more Shadow Wing members started moving towards where the other Shadow Wing members await them. On the way there they encountered enemies, but they were easily dealt with. They encountered caravans that instantly got killed the minute they saw it. Along the way they managed to kill at least 100 of the enemy forces, Scout gained 2 more levels and more war coins. Scout and the rest of the Shadow wings finally arrived at the gathering point, everyone was there waiting. "Looks like everyone is here, heres the plan, we wait till midnight where there would be less activity going on, once it becomes midnight, we do our thing. This is our first task going in as a group, so no mistakes everyone, I will give you more information when the time comes, stay put for now, no unnecessary movements." Silhouette stated. Almost midnight came before them and Silhouette gathered all of the Shadow Wing members. "Okay guys, its almost time, the plan is plain and simple, we will form a circle around the camp, and once the game clock strikes 12, we all move in together killing anyone in our way, I will not allow anyone to die, if you are about to die, retreat and drink a potion and come back, understood?" Silhouette asked *NOD* Everybody nodded in unison, they did not want to attract unwanted attention. Everyone slowly went to their position forming a circle around the supply camp, they waited and they waited and finally the game clock had struck 12. They all silently approached the camp, one by one the guards stationed for sentry were taken down. All went according to plan until an enemy finally noticed something was off. "WHO GOES THERE?!" The enemy asked as a Shadow Wing member was finishing off a sentry. "INTRUDERS!" The enemy shouted One by one the enemy came out of their tents and they were all armed to the teeth. Soon enough the enemy had surrounded 10 of the Shadow Wing members, the surrounded Shadow Wing members were doing well, they could easily dodge most of the attacks, but of course they could not dodge forever. The enemy were feeling quite confident. They all had started laughing and making fun of the Shadow Wing members for trying to take the camp with only 10 people. They did not expect that there would be 14 more. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** The other 14 members were still busy finishing off sentries, they were still at their own designated area when they finally noticed that there other members were being surrounded. They all cleaned up their fair share of sentries and immediately rushed towards the circle striking from behind. A bloodbath had then started, 24 Shadow Wing members versus 70 something remaining enemies, the number advantage weren''t in their favor, however, they were far superior individually. Everyone was fighting each other, but Scout was doing a different thing, rather than actually fighting, he was supporting and defending his teammates. If his teammates needed to back off to drink a potion, he would cover them, if a teammate was about to be struck a deadly blow, he would instantly run towards the enemy and kill them first. Of course no one in their team knew it was Scout, they were too busy with the fight. Of course Scout had gotten his fair deal of kills too, and amidst all the fighting he had found the supply camp leader. Once Scout identified the leader, he went ahead and dealt with him first, since he would be the most troublesome. As everyone was busy fighting each other, they were just throwing all their attacks hoping to hit anyone. Scout had taken this chance and shadow stepped behind the enemy leader, and instantly killed him. The leader had dropped 25 war coins which Scout immediately picked up. After he had killed the leader, he went back and supported his teammates without them knowing. The battle only took an hour, all enemies dead and zero Shadow Wing member dead. Scout only gained 1 level since there was a lot of them. He was now level 65. Once the camp was cleared the camp was now officially property of Chronos, 100 war coins had dropped which they all distributed evenly. "Good job guys, that was easier than I thought, We still have plenty of darkness ahead of us, and one of our members had found another camp just like this one, so what do you say? Shall we move on to the next one?" Silhouette asked with a smile on her face. "YEAH!" They all replied in unison. They went towards the next camp and did the same, they slowly approached the camp in a circle and slowly took care off the sentries, this time it was not the same as the first one, this time, they had managed to clear off the camp without much resistance. The Shadow Wings were now more experienced in stealth. Since there wasn''t even that much of a fight, Scout had focused on the offensive. They cleared the camp and moved on to the next one, this time, it was total annihilation, the enemy didn''t even have time to respond. The sun was about to come out, the Shadow Wings had managed to clear 5 more camps, making their total to 8 camps cleared in one night. Scout had gained 5 levels. And a good amount of war coins, in all of the camps, it was him who would always kill the enemy leader. He also had his fair share of normal infantry giving 1 coin per kill. Scout now had 353 war coins, of course Scout did not know if that was plenty or not. "Okay good stuff guys, we will now separate from here on out, it is almost daybreak and I''m sure word will get out, of course we only managed to clear out a few of the camps out of at least 100 camps. We will now go our separate ways, it will be too suspicious for us to go together, I will give further orders soon enough, for now, we are on our own." Silhouette said as everyone started leaving. The sun had risen and the second day of war had begun.

Thanks for reading, have a good day Chapter 21: Castle Siege Day 2 of the Chronos-Isris war had officially started, both sides ha suffered a good amount of loses, but that did not stop them from giving it their all. It was another day of blood infested war, but for Scout it was a little bit different, Scout had successfully managed to infiltrate a castle, he was going about and killing any people that would wander off alone. The entire castle was in an uproar, but Scout was hard to find, there were at least 300 people in the castle, it was like finding a needle in a haystack, some people just thought of Scout as their comrade because he too was inside the castle. A perfect opportunity had risen for Scout, hell was about to break loose in their area, Chronos soldiers and adventurers were now sieging the castle. They brought several catapults to break down the walls. Of course Scout needed to dodge any incoming rocks. Scout used the siege to his advantage, while everyone was busy trying to fight back, Scout would kill any unsuspecting enemies. It was chaos everywhere, rocks were flying from both sides, arrows would come raining, and Chronos soldiers had brought siege rams to ram down the gate, of course the castle was equipped with defense mechanisms, they had huge ballistas, they also have catapults of their own, they also have boiling hot oil across the walls. Scout decided that it was a good strategy to kill first the people that were using the siege equipment. So he ran towards the closest ballista, just as he was about to strike somebody shouted at him and said. "HEY YOU! GO TO THE COMMANDERS QUARTERS AND ASK HIM TO COME OUT RIGHT NOW! THATS AN ORDER!" The guy said while shooting an arrow. "Understood sir! I will go right away!" Scout replied playing along with it. Scout had gotten to the doors of the commanders quarters, it was guarded by 2 people. "Halt! Who goes there?!" one of the guard asked while pointing his sword at Scout "Im a friendly, I have an urgent report for the leader! Hurry and let me in!" Scout shouted back "I see, go on in" The guard replied while sheathing his sword. Scout went in and placed one knee on the floor and shouted. "Sir! Urgent report!" "What is it?" The castle leader said while sitting on a small throne "We have found the infiltrator!" Scout said while lowering his head. "Who?! And where is he?!" The leader said as he quickly stood up. Scout immediately shadow stepped behind the leader and stabbed him in the back. "Im right here" Scout said while planting his two daggers in the back of the leader, one dagger was not enough, so Scout had to bury another dagger in him. "Gaaaah!" The leader managed to let out a scream before falling to the ground dropping 50 coins all for Scout to take. The two guards who were on guard outside suddenly barged through the doors. "My liege!" The two guards shouted in unison as they started running towards Scout with their weapons held up high. Both of the guards were filled with rage, they started slashing and striking Scout, they were too blinded by rage that they did not think too much of their swings, this made it easier for Scout to easily dodge their attacks. Scout swung his right hand striking of the guards chest, in a split second Scout used the same hand and stabbed the guard in the neck. The guard fell dead and Scout ran towards the other guard now. Scout used the momentum from his run to slide down, as he was sliding he struck the remaining guards leg, which rendered the guard immobilized, the guard fell to his knees. Scout quickly stood up and ran towards the guard and slit the guards throat, which immediately killed him. Scout then scoured the room for any loots that he could find, and he did, he found a chest, and where there is a chest, there is bound to be some good stuff. The chest contained 34 gold a ring, and some gems that could be sold for a good amount. Scout also picked up his war coins, Scout then went ahead and inspected his ring, it was blood red.

His stats had gone up quite a bit, his skills also had risen making him even more stronger. Scout immediately left the room and checked to see how the siege was going. As he stepped out, the Isris soldiers were in a disarray, their leader was not present to command them, little did they know that their leader was already dead. They all fell into confusion, they started panicking now knowing what to do, the more they panicked the less resistance they would give. Soon enough the gate was successfully rammed down and Chronos soldiers started pouring in. Just as the Chronos soldiers were coming inside, a wall had crumbled and fell, the castle how had 2 huge openings for Chronos soldiers to get into. Scout decided to Shadow Step outside of the castle where he would join Chronos soldiers, there was a high chance of him getting mistaken for an enemy if he had stayed longer inside the castle walls. Scout joined his fellow Chronos soldiers and started killing anyone left inside the castle, some Isris soldiers managed to escape, but they let them off. Their goal was the castle, and they got it. Everyone had gotten war coins automatically added to their inventory, the higher their contribution was, the higher amount of coins they got. Scout got 100 coins after the capture of the castle, plus a couple more coins for killing more enemies. Scout tried to leave to castle, but it was too late, they were all being rallied, they were given orders to assault another city. He was already caught in the middle of everything. Scout had nothing better to do but to participate in the castle siege. They moved out towards the next castle, they only have what had remained of them from the last siege, barely 300 people sieging a castle that have at least 500. In a few hours of marching, they had already arrived at their destination, it was a castle fully prepared to repel their attacks, they once the Chronos soldiers were already in range, they already started firing their ballistas and counter catapults. As huge rocks were flying everywhere, showers of arrows had joined in, and soon enough, the gates of the castle had opened up, but it wasn''t to let people in, it was to let people out. Isris soldiers were coming out of the castle, they were now the ones going on the offensive. A war of its own had started, arrows and magic were flying from all directions, warriors were clanking metals. Scout however was not in the middle of it, he was already behind enemy lines, he was taking out the support troops, he was killing archers, mages and healers, of course Scout was not alone, other thieves and assassins were with him too. They slowly took out the enemy support and shifted the tide of the war to their side. Isris soldiers were being overwhelmed and stared to retreat back, they opened the gates so that they could come back in, they were now stuck in the defensive. Scout took this chance to get inside the castle amidst all of the confusion. Other Chronos soldiers tried to get inside the gate, but arrows and magic rained upon them. Once the rain of fire had passed, they had started approaching the gate. A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation. Scout had noticed that there were Chronos soldiers outside the gate. Isris soldiers were still in disarray and in low morale after loosing the melee against Chronos; Scout took this chance to kill the gate keeper and opened the gates. Isris soldiers were surprised, they were still in disarray. "WHO THE HELL OPENED GATES?!" An Isris soldier shouted "CLOSE IT IMMEDIETLY!" Another soldier shouted "HAHAHAHAHA! TOO LATE WERE ALREADY INSIDE!" A Chronos soldier that looked pretty high level ran inside laughing. Chronos soldiers slowly entered the castle and started wiping out the Isris soldiers. The Isris soldiers were too low on morale to even put up a resistance. Scout had took this chance to go towards where the leader was, the leader was cowering in his quarters, Scout kicked on the door and started running towards the castle leader, he did not put up much of a fight, he was alive, but the leader''s eyes looked already dead. Scout easily dealt with leader. A hundred war coins had dropped which Scout picked up all for himself. Scout then looked for some other loot, he found another chest, the chest contained 50 gold coins and 150 war coins. Scout then slowly left the room and help clear out the enemy castle. in an hour they had cleared the castle of enemy soldiers, even the castle leader did not put up much of a fight. Scout had gotten 2 levels and a good amount of war coins from opening the gate. Chronos soldiers within the castles were celebrating, but little did they know that on the other side of the battlefield, they too lost some castles, the war was still evenly matched. Scout went back behind enemy lines now without problem. Nightfall had begun and a new war for Scout had begun. Scout was informed that the Shadow Wings were to be together once more, Scout started running towards the designated area. When Scout got there, almost all of the Shadow Wings were there. After 20 minutes everyone had finally gathered. "Glad to see everyone is still alive we have a new mission, we will be meeting up with our other guild members later at daybreak." Silhouette said *MURMUR* Everyone started talking wondering what will happen "Don''t worry, its just a mission, when daybreak comes, we will silently infiltrate a castle, we will kill of any guards and watchmen and we will open the gates for our other guild members, this will help our guilds reputation." Silhouette stated "Sounds good to me" a Shadow Wing member said "Yeah, seems like fun" another one stated with a smile. "Okay, good, looks like everyone is on board, we will be scouting the area to see if we have any possible entry points, lets move out now so that we have an adequate amount of time." Silhouette once more stated already running towards the enemy castle. The Shadow Wing members had arrived at their destination at around 4 am game time. They then slowly scoured the area to see if there were any entry points, and they found one, it was a small sewer that could fit one person at a time. At 5 am game time, they would execute their plan, they would one by one go inside the sewer and slowly infiltrate the enemy castle. They had checked to see how many night guards there were across the walls, there were at least 30 people guarding the walls alone. 5 am had struck and their operation had begun, the first one to go in was Black Lotus, followed by Silhouette, then the rest of the Shadow Wings. Scout took a different route, The castle can be easily infiltrated by him using his Shadow Step skill. Scout shadow stepped to a ledge, he was now hanging, he shadow stepped to a ledge where there was only one guard. Scout then started tapping the ledge where he was at to attract the attention of the sole guard. The guard slowly walked over to see what the noise was, but that was his mistake, Scout suddenly lifted himself up and instantly stabbed the guard in the neck and immediately threw him over the wall. This all happened just before their operation had begun. Scout then went into stealth and slowly walked over the next guard, but this time they were a pair, they were in the corner wall, each facing different directions. Scout had gotten over to where they were. He then quickly stabbed both of them in their necks and pushed them off the cliff. The *THUD* noise that the body made while falling attracted the attention of a nearby guard. Scout noticed the guard approaching, the guard noticed Scout and was about to scream but Scout immediately Shadow Stepped behind the guard and placed his hand over the guards mouth while stabbing the guard as many times as he can before the guard died. He then pushed the guard off the wall. Scout had noticed that more and more Shadow Wing members were already inside the castle. Scout decided to jump down from the wall so that he won''t attack attention and go towards the sewer entrance. As Scout jumped down he had lost a good amount of health, but nothing a potion can''t fix. Scout drank his potion and went towards the sewer entrance, it seems he was the only one left. Scout entered the sewers and after about 10 seconds of walking he was at the entry point, he came out of it and noticed that everything was going perfectly, no enemies were alarmed yet, and when an enemy is alarmed, the enemy would not have the chance to react, because there would be a person behind him and kill him immedietaly. The Shadow Wings were do so well that they decided to tread deeper into the castle, they would go in groups inside the castle barracks and clear out each and every single room. In just one hour, the Shadow Wings had managed to clear out the entire castle all by themselves, they even killed the castle lord without any problems. They all divided the loot between themselves. The only thing for the Shadow Wing to do was wait for their guild mates to come and occupy the castle under their name. At 6 am game time, The Free Wing Mercenary had arrived at the castle, they weren''t surprised that the gate was open, they expected that much, but what was surprising was that the castle was already cleared out by the Shadow Wings. "Hahahaha you guys did a good job!" Evan, the guild leader said while laughing "Thank you sir" Silhouette stated while bowing her head. "With this our guilds name will become ever more famous, also I would like to meet the person that managed to not only register us, but register us as the first guild." Evan said while still laughing "About that. . . " Silhouette said while scratching her face "Yes?" Evan asked with a confused look "We don''t know who managed to do it, he or she doesn''t want to be recognized so I left it at that." Silhouette said while lowering her head. "Alright, anyways that does not matter now, ill give everyone under 5 wings another wing for a job well done, also each member will be granted one more dark wing to their mark" Evan said while once more laughing. "Understood sir, thank you very much" Silhouette bowed down. "Let us celebrate! Bring out the food, everyone must be tired from the journey! Have fun!" Evan shouted "YEAH! WOOOHOOO!" everyone cheered in unison. Scout and the rest of the Shadow Wings had gotten more wings, Scout was now officially a B class with 3 wings, and he now has 2 black wings. The Free Wing Mercenary guild was now once more a whole, and started celebrating their reunion.

Of course the guild leader gets a good amount of contribution points because of the guild, but individual actions help too, as we can see form this list, some of the players on the list are not in any of the top guilds." "I see that makes sense, also how about that Free Wing Mercenary?" Mary once more asked "Yes, that to me is baffling too, according to our reports they are a small guild that recently just got created, they were also the first guild to register, which still remains a mystery on how they did it." "But they are in the top contributors so does that mean that they did good?" "Yes that does mean that they did good" Tom said "Now we move on over to the Isris top contributors!" Ray turned off the TV, it wasn''t relevant information for him and he was about to leave for School. Ray was not sure if the 10th place was him, he had died before the war had officially ended, and he did not care. Ray left for school, he left his doorstep and began walking. Along the way Ray was reminiscing about the events that unfolded yesterday. * * * * * * * * * * 12 pm game time : The Free Wing Mercenaries had just finished celebrating their reunion, now they were focused at the task at hand, they were now drawing closer and closer towards the enemy stronghold. They were about to leave to take another keep but someone else came to their doorsteps. "EMERGENCY! I need to speak to the leader of this castle now!" A Chronos soldier shouted while entering the castle gates. Evan then stood up and approached the Chronos soldier. "What is the problem?" "An enemy force has been spotted, they are headed towards our stronghold" The soldier said in a panic. "How is this a concern for us?" Evan asked while scratching his forehead. "It''s the entire remaining forces of the Isris. They have about 5000 strong people marching towards our stronghold. Our general has ordered you to assist at once, other forces filled with adventurers like you have been recalled." "I see an all out attack, all or nothing, how many people do we have left?" Evan asked once more "Our stronghold has around 2000 people defending it, and a few guilds should be there already totaling around 3700 people, we are outnumbered, thats why we need everyones help." The guard said with a panicked expression. "Thats understandable, very well, we will aid our kingdom!" Evan stated with a smile. "Thank you very much! We await your assistance! Now I must be off, there are more people that I need to find!" The guard said and left. Evan then walked up to his confused guild mates and said. "Change of plan! We are going back to defend our stronghold!" Evan stated while raising up his sword. "Whats the problem?" Hiro walked up to Evan and asked. "The Isris has decided to gather all their people and do an all out attack, they have at least 5000 strong and our defenses might not hold up, we move out now!" The Free Wing Mercenary had started moving back towards their stronghold, it was at least a 3 hour march. They could have cut the time by more than half if they had horses, but they were a small guild, getting horses would be a bit too much for them. As they marched they were 30 minutes away, Evan had decided to let them rest before moving on. "Everyone stop! We will take a short break here! No use sending ourselves to our deaths by being tired headed directly to combat." Evan shouted halting all his troops. "But wouldn''t we be too late?" Hiro asked "No we won''t, chances are the battle had just begun a few hours ago, I''m sure the stronghold will hold for at least half a day more, we will rest for an hour, after that no more!" Everyone started to take a rest. Cooks had begun cooking food that would slightly boost their stats. They drank their water, replenishing their energy, they were sharpening their weapons, they were preparing for war, soon, 300 strong people were gonna be fighting with 5000 strong. An hour had passed and everyone was all hyped up and ready to go. They had started marching towards their stronghold, the path they took was over a small hill overlooking the entire battlefield, what they saw was amazing and yet terrifying at the same time. This was what war actually looked like, two waves crashing at each other, and in between only death awaits. The hill that overlooked the whole place was to the right of the entire battlefield. The battlefield was divided into three separate fights, the ones fighting in the middle, the one that were fighting on the right side, and the ones fighting on the left side. The fight seemed evenly matched, but the tide soon turned towards the Isris side. The right side was now pushing their forces towards the stronghold As the Isris forces was about to overwhelm the right side of the Chronos soldiers, a rumble could be heard from behind them, at first they only saw one person, then two, then three, the next thing they know, 300 people were coming out of the hills! It was the Free Wing Mercenary! They were running towards them, at first glance it looked like a reckless charge, but they had planned it well. Once they had gotten to flat ground it was visible, they were in a triangular shape, it was a wedge formation, they had the heavy armored men all up front, while the lighter armored ones in the middle. But that wasn''t all, magic and arrows came raining down from the hills above. At least 100 people consisting of mages and archers at the top of the hill giving support. Then the Free Wing Mercenary wedge formation had hit them. *CLASH* Instantly breaking apart their defenses straight through the middle. The Free Wing Mercenary''s goal was the right side''s leader. They were successful in breaking the defenses but they were still a good distance apart from the enemy leader. As the wedge formation hit the Isris soldiers. The Shadow Wings had gone into action, they were right in the middle of the wedge so they had the least damage taken and the most energy to spend. Once they were in the middle of the fight, they all jumped out from the middle and started killing enemies with their precise strikes and fast movements. Their actions had eased the burden for the rest of the Free Wing Mercenary''s. The Free Wing mercenary had come to a full stop, they were completely stopped from their tracks, they were now right in the middle, they were surrounded in all sides. "EVAN! We are in trouble! We can''t hold out much longer like this!" Hiro shouted while fighting some soldiers "I know! We must hold on! There is nothing else we can do" Evan shouted while slashing enemies. "NO, There is one thing we can do! But you will not like it . . . " Hiro shouted "What are you talking about?" Evan asked "You know what I''m talking about!" Hiro retorted "No, never! I will not leave people behind" Evan shouted furious "It''s the only way EVAN! This is not the time to be a hero! This is war Evan! We need to be successful in order for our guild to survive!" "DAMNIT! FINE! Hiro gather up all the people that are capable of moving!" Evan shouted still mad. A few minutes had passed and 100 capable people have gathered. "I will take these 100 people and push towards the enemy commander. I hope you all survive!" Evan said with tears in his eyes. "We will await your victory Evan" A wounded member said. "Do our guild proud!" Another one shouted. "GOOD LUCK!" Another one cheered "Thank you all! We will come back victorious, Hiro, I entrust these good men to you!" Evan said "Will do, now go out there and show them what we are capable of." Hiro said The 200 remaining Free Wing Mercenary members were now split into two groups, the wounded and the ones that are capable of moving forth. They were now going to be separated, one group would push towards the enemy commander, while the other group stay in their position. Just as Evan was about to charge towards the enemy commander a shadow flew past him. It was Silhouette "Leader Evan, I will take my members and weaken the enemy defenses, take that chance and charge straight through, most of my people are still capable of moving." Silhouette said. "NO! Your members will die if you charge on ahead!" Evan shouted "We know the risks, this is our task, we were made for things like these. We will go now, prepare to charge on through. Shadow Wings! You know what to do! Lets go!" Silhouette shouted while already charging straight through the enemy. "WAIT! NO! DAMNIT!" Evan shouted "Evan, don''t let their efforts be in vain! Go and claim our victory!" Hiro said while fighting enemy forces. The Shadow Wings started jump out from the middle and started engaging the enemy, they would strike a single enemy once just to put them out of balance. The Shadow Wing''s goal was not to kill enemies, but to break the enemies defenses just enough for the Free Wing Mercenary''s to push through. The Shadow Wings were fast, they could easily maneuver inside the enemy forces, they would slash an enemy a couple of times and they would go on deeper to strike more foes. One by one they had fallen, soon enough most of them died. But their efforts were not in vein, they some of the Shadow Wing Members had successfully pierced the enemy lines, and they had reached an open space where the enemy commander resides. There were 5 remaining members left, Silhouette, Black Lotus, Scout and 2 other members. "Hahahaha! Only 5 people? What do you guys think you can do with 5 people?!" The enemy commander shouted and laughed towards them. ". . ." They all stayed silent while the rest of the enemy laughed in front of them. But little by little their laughter soon got replaced by metals clanking. It was the rest of the Free Wing Mercenary, they had successfully managed to pierce through the weakened defenses made by the Shadow Wings, they only lost a few men, they still had at least 85 people. "Where did you guys come from?!" The enemy commander shouted, he was in a state of panic. "We got here through the efforts of our men! Now prepare to die!" Evan shouted while running towards the enemy commander. The rest of the Free Wing Mercenary followed. The 5 remaining Shadow Wings who were still exhausted from their efforts had joined on the fray too. This time too, they were the ones leading, breaking the rest of the enemies defenses. After a few minutes, they had finally reached the enemy commander, he was scared but he was still a commander and he was strong. He easily endured the Free Wing Mercenaries attacks and he did good damage too. But soon enough he had let up, he could not take it anymore, and he soon fall dead taking a few more mercenaries with him. The enemy leader had finally fallen, the Free Wing Mercenaries had dealt quite an impact on the enemy forces, but that did not stop the Isris soldiers from fighting. They surrounded the Free Wing Mercenaries, and started picking them off one by one. The Free Wing Mercenaries put up a fight, but after fighting for so long, exhausted and tired, they soon fell one by one to the ground. After an hour of putting up a fight, the last member of the Free Wing Mercenary, Scout, had finally fallen down.

Once again sorry for posting late Chapter 23: Shadow Clone Ray had finished reminiscing about the war, about the efforts that he had pulled. Just as Ray finished reminiscing, he had arrived at the university. He was quite early, and not many students were present yet. Ray decided to walk towards his classroom. He decided to just sit and wait in the back corner of the room, the classroom could easily fit 100 people. One by one other students had entered the room. Soon enough the classroom was close to full when the professor finally walked in. He was in his middle 40''s and was well built, he had no hair on his head, but he had a big bushy beard. He looked like mobster, some of the students wondered if they even have the right teacher. "Settle down people, settle down" The professor said *Silence* Silence had entered the room, they were scared of the professor. "No need to be scared, my name is Professor Rowen and I welcome you to the University Of Virtual Reality" *Chatter* The students started chattering "Now now, calm down everyone, I will now explain to you how this University is going to work, it is quite unique. Unlike other universities where you pick your classes right off the bat, we choose your class for the first year that you are here, after that, you can choose on what you want to study on, like for example; the mechanics of the Virtual reality console, how it was made, how it was possible etc etc . . ." "Chatter* more chattering came from the students "Also, since everyone are still technically first years, everyone will be having the same classes, since not everyone will have the same schedule, the school had divided the classes into three different times. We have Morning classes, from 8am to 11am, 1pm to 4pm, and 5pm to 9pm. You may sign up to any of these times, but you can only choose one. I am going to hand out a form and we wish for you to fill it out." The professor started handing out a piece of paper, on the piece of paper it had only 3 things to fill out. Name, Time schedule chosen, and a signature. Ray quickly signed on for the morning class, he was a morning person and his brain was more active during the mornings. "After you fill the forms out, you are dismissed, drop the forms at my desk before you leave. School won''t officially start till next week monday, and also this friday we will hold a welcoming ceremony to all the students, it will be on school grounds so make sure to come, it won''t be necessary, but it will be a good opportunity to meet friends and potential lovers." The professor said blushing. One by one students started filling out the paper and started leaving the room. Ray filled out his paper and started to leave too, as he left the room almost everyone started talking about Square One. Among the conversations were about the war. "You managed to join the war?! Lucky bastard!" A student said to another person. "Yeah, my guild managed to get in, not all of us though" The other person replied "Lucky you man, I tried to but there were way too many people!" Conversations like these were all around the entire university, at one point this conversation happened. "Did you guys hear about that group that took out Isris camps during the first night?" A person asked terrified "Yeah, I heard they were killing a lot of Isris soldiers during the night." "Yeah, I was on one of those camps, we didnt know what hit us, I heard the alarm bell for intruders, once I got out of my tent to see what was going on, I had already died." A person said Ray decided to leave and head home, that way he could go and play the game a little bit more, he now had one more week of free game time. Ray got home and immediately stepped inside the ''Egg''. Scout awoke at a fountain on which he recognizes from his last visit, he was now back at the Chronos capital. Scout checked his stats and was surprised that he had gained a few levels before he died. He was now level 75. He also had noticed that his weapon was now giving off an even darker aura that could be easily visible. He inspected his weapon and was surprised to what he saw.

These daggers were used to kill a legendary black dragon, and it absorbed the dragons black blood. The dagger levels up according to the level of the user, Scout.
Scout was surprised, his weapon now had changed to yellow tier, as he equipped his daggers, he felt the surge of power within him. He then decided to walk towards the city hall. He read in the forums that the city hall is where you can exchange your War Coins for items. Scout had arrived, he was surprised too see the inside, it was bigger than any town hall he had seen, and there were more people hanging about too. He then asked a guard where to get his rewards for the war coins. The guard pointed him towards a room. Scout walked towards the room and entered it, at first glance it looked like an auction house, but at a second glance near where the items were displayed, there was a list of items that could be bought using the war coins. Scout approached one of the lists, as he glanced throughout the list a person suddenly appeared right in front of him. "How may I help you today sir?" The person asked "Can you explain to me how this works?" Scout asked, he was genuinely confused "Ah, it is simple, you look through the item list, and off to its side there should be a number, the number indicates how many war coins are needed to redeem the item. Some items are duplicates of each other, meaning there would be more items similar to that, there are also some that have only one copies. After you had picked an item, tell us and we will bring it to you for you to inspect, if you are satisfied with an item you can then exchange your war coins for it." "I see, thank you very much" Scout said politely Scout looked through the list, there were plenty of items available, there were armors that ranged from 50 coins to 500 coins depending on the level. Weapons were the same too. There were potions, there were basic skill books. But those items only costed 500 coins or below. There was also a miscellaneous tab where you can exchange war coins for reputation, for gold, or for guild reputation. Scout checked the items that he could buy instantly, he had 1087 coins, he checked the items that costs 1000 coins. There were horses, not just basic ones, but royal steads. The weapons and armors were one of a kind. There was also a class change scroll available. All of these things interested Scout, but there was one thing that really caught his attention, It was a skill book. Scout then told the person on what he wanted, the person was surprised. "Sir that item costs 1000 war coins, and no one has that amount, the highest item that we have sold was an item around 700 coins, and the one that bought it was the highest contributor in Chronos, Blaze." The person said in a loud tone. The persons tone attracted the attention of many people "Worry not, I have 1000 coins here. Please bring me the item, I do not want to attract attention to myself." Scout said. The person then suddenly left and went ahead to grab the item that Scout wanted. Meanwhile, people were eyeing Scout, but they did not know who he was, Scout had a mask on so they couldn''t see who he was. They were curious, they wanted to know who could afford an item with 1000 coins, it would have been easy to get 1000 coins if you participated in a war at least 5 times the same scale as the one that recently happened. But that was the only war that had happened. So they were curious. Stolen novel; please report. After a few minutes had passed the person had come back and gave Scout the item to inspect.

The person was shocked, his jaws had dropped, but he wasn''t the only one, everyone around them were shocked too, they couldn''t believe it, someone had actually had 1000 war coins. Scout received his item and immediately used it. He now had a new skill that he could utilize.

Scout was about to leave when suddenly a swarm of people surrounded him. They were asking him questions like "What item did you get?!" "How did you get the 1000 war coins?!" "Wanna join our guild?!" Scout ignored the questions and said. "Excuse me I have to leave please step out of the way. I don''t want any trouble" As Scout was walking away, people turned hostile towards him. Scout felt the hostility and hurried towards the exit. But it was too late, people were blocking it already, almost ready to kill. They were jealous of Scout, they thought he was hacking or cheating, so they wanted to kill him, just to let out their anger. Scout had thought of a plan. Scout used his new skill. He made a clone of himself, the moment the clone appeared, he shadow stepped towards the exit. This way people will think he is dead and won''t look for him after a long time. The people started beating up Scouts clone, the clone easily vanished after a few hits. Everyone in the room started laughing. "Hahahahaha what a weakling, couldn''t even survive a few attacks!" "Hahahaha yeah, so weak, maybe he was a leecher!" "Yeah! hahahaha maybe he was just running around the battlefield collecting coins while his teammates were fighting!" "What a scum!" "So, did he drop any items?" "Bad luck for us, he did not." "doesn''t matter, we killed him" "yeah! thats all that matters!" Scout watched the whole thing from the exit. "Dumb people" Scout thought before he left. Scout then casually walked out of the city hall as if nothing had happened. As Scout was walking out of it, he felt a small prick from his back. Scout tried to look back but he couldn''t, he was paralyzed, he could not move or use any skills. Suddenly a bag came over his head covering his entire face. It was kidnapping. Scout did not know where he was being dragged too, he was lost and confused, he knew there was two people carrying him side by side. He also knows that they were using the rooftops for traveling. Scout uses this method too, it was faster and also it was more peaceful. They finally arrived at a location, the bag that was over Scouts head was no more, Scout could finally see, he was hands were tied behind his back. A man in a hood approached him and asked. "Pretty ballsy move their kid using a skill in the city hall, how did you come across it?" the person asked "I bought it using the war coins" Scout replied "Not that skill, but I do have to agree, pretty good skill you bought there, anyways, not that skill, but the other skill you used to escape." "it my unique skill" Scout said "Yours?! Hahahaha!" The person laughed along with 3 others. "Whats so funny?!" Scout asked furious "Do you seriously think that you''re the only one with that skill?!" The person asked still laughing ". . ." Scout stayed silent, he was still paralyzed and still could not use any skills. Suddenly a person with a knife approached Scout and slowly went behind him. Scout closed his eyes, he expected to be dead, but he was wrong, the rope that tied his arms together were now cut off, his paralysis was gone too. Scout slowly stood up not understanding the situation. The people took Scout and slowly pushed him to a dark room, suddenly flames light the whole room and there were now at least 5 people standing above Scout at a balcony. "So you are the newest addition to our group, and an adventurer at that" A person above said. ". . ." Scout was confused "You are an Eliminator, Yes?" The person asked once more "Yes, how did you know?" Scout asked "Well because I too am an Eliminator just like you. And everyone around you are Eliminators too" Everything started to make sense to Scout now, he had triggered something related to the Eliminators, and him shadow stepping at the city hall triggered that. "We welcome you to our small brotherhood!" The person said and the people there started clapping. Scout was now happy than ever, he can now finally progress on his class and even possibly gain new skills. "Sterling over there will be your mentor, he will teach you more of the ways of the Eliminator and will teach you tricks of the trade, he will also explain to you our purpose in this world." The person said and left. A person slowly approached Scout and the person took of his hood. It revealed a face of a man at least 50, but he had a dignified look, a look you did not want to mess with, his hair was black, but white hairs started to grow, it was long and his hair was tied back. At first glance he looked old and had a weak body, but if you look close enough, his body was stronger that of an 20 year old body builder. "My name is Sterling, ill be your mentor, nice to meet you" Sterling said "Scout, nice to meet you too" Scout was now about to start a new chapter of his gaming life.

He was now being mentored by Sterling, which Scout knew nothing about. Scout decided to ask a few questions to better understand the Eliminators. "Sterling can I ask you a question?" Scout asked while him and Sterling were walking to a place "Go ahead" "What are the Eliminators?" "Us? Were nobody, we don''t exist, but in a way we do exist. We are deliverers of justice, we choose our targets carefully. We choose those who have wronged in a really bad way. We don''t go after those who robbed a little fortune, or those that murdered one person. We go for the ones that had affected the well being of the people. We however review and study our targets. If we have a corrupt noble ruling a city, but the citizens are still happy, we leave that noble alone, but once the citizens are starting to suffer, that is when we move in. We do not do our jobs for coin, no one pays us to do anything. We do not do it for glory, we do it for the people." "I see, so how do you guys survive?" Scout asked "Being an Eliminator is like our alternate life, but we still have our original ways of living, some of us are storekeepers, some of us are farmers, there are even some of us who are part of the army." "In the army? I thought you guys only killed for justice?" Scout asked confused "That is if we play the part of an Eliminator, everything else is fair game, but even though we kill if we don''t play the part of an Eliminator, we kill for a cause, we will not go on random killing sprees just because we want to. But most of the Eliminators don''t kill outside of being an Eliminator, most of the people that kill are the ones in the army." "That makes sense. How does the Hierarchy work within the Eliminators?" "There isn''t one, we are all equal. but that does not mean that we all have the same strength, we have a structural power, but being the strongest does not make one a leader of the Eliminators. You will better understand once we arrive to our destination. "But how about those 5 people in the balcony? They look like they were the leaders." Scout asked even more confused "Those are the council, each month we rotate members that are readily available, so if you are frequently available too, you will be a council." "One last question, how many Eliminators are there? And are we only in Chronos?" "Ill answer your second question first, all of the Eliminators come from Chronos, yes, but our jobs might take us to other kingdoms, also our members in the army only represent Chronos, and I''m pretty sure you do too. For your first question, theres only so little of us actually with you included, theres only 50 of us, and we hardly have jobs, we individually get jobs almost only once a year." "I see, thank you for all of the information." Scout said No conversations happened after that, they continued walking towards a destination, after a few more minutes of walking they had finally arrived. They arrived at an open field. "What are we doing here?" Scout asked "Im here to teach you a new skill of course." Sterling replied while taking out a dagger. Scout was happy, he finally had the chance to get a class skill. "Okay calm down, now watch carefully." Sterling said. Sterling suddenly threw his dagger at a practice dummy, upon impact Sterling disappeared from Scouts side, and immediately reappeared in front of the dummy while holding the dagger that he threw. Sterling immediately disappeared once more and re-appeared at Scouts side. "Did you see what I did there?" Sterling asked "You just threw your dagger and shadow stepped in front of the practice dummy, but I already know shadow step." Scout asked scratching his forehead. "But did you not find it weird I shadow stepped immediately back beside you?" Sterling asked "That was weird, are you going to teach me how to shadow step two times in a row?" Scout asked with a smile "Close to that, but it is a little bit different, the skill I''m teaching you is the shadow throw." Sterling said while twirling his dagger. "Sounds cool, so how are you going to teach me?" "Well I won''t be technically teaching you, I''m just here to tell you how to acquire it." ". . ." Scout was confused "Don''t worry, you''ll get it soon enough, first of all, you need to practice throwing your daggers, I have prepared this area for you to practice. There should be a bucket of daggers their for you to practice, hit that target at 5 yards for practice, once you hit 50 times, hit the one 10 yards out, once you hit that one 50 times, do the one 15 yards out, then hit the one 20 yards out 50 times, then lastly hit the one at 25 yards 50 times. Well go on then, good luck." Sterling said as he started to walk towards the exit. "Wait! Where are you going?!" Scout asked "Im going to my real life, don''t worry, ill come back every few hours to bring you food and water. Good luck and have fun." Sterling said as he had left the field. *SIGH* "I guess I better get started if I ever hope of getting a new skill" Scout said to himself as he walked towards the bucket full of daggers. Scout grabbed the bucket full of daggers and grabbed a dagger and threw it towards the target 5 yards out. He miserably missed. "Ugh, that was throw" Scout told himself Scout threw another one, but this one also missed the target. He threw and threw but not one out of the 10 he threw hit the target. Scout finally realized that he could not just half ass throwing the daggers. Scout took a little break to calm his mind. After his break, he stood up, grabbed a dagger and focused on the target. He threw the dagger, it missed and went over the target. "Getting closer now, I just threw that one a little bit too hard." Scout said as he picked up another dagger. Scout threw another dagger, but this time a little less power, this time his dagger did not reach the target, he did not put enough strength to it. Scout could now hit the target with precision, but his dominant arm got tired, so he decided to practice with his non dominate arm. It took a little bit longer, but he managed to actually hit the target. After an hour of trial and error, Scout could now hit the target 10 out of 10 times using both arms, he had gotten the skill Dagger Throw Mastery.

Scout finished the 50 hit mark test on the first dummy, he decided to take a rest before moving on to the next one. As Scout was taking a rest underneath a tree, Sterling came back bringing over food and water. "Hey, hows the dagger throwing going?" Sterling asked "Im getting used to it a little bit, finally finished the first dummy." "Thats a surprise, you are better than I thought, here I brought you some food and water to replenish your energy." "Thank you" Scout said while gulping down the food and water. "I will be back again later, good luck" Sterling said as he once more left the area. Scout decided to sit down a little bit longer, after he had finished resting he had move on to the next target. But this time he managed to hit the target fairly easy. He hit his target 50 times and moved on to the next. Scout was getting better at it, he would hit his targets one after the other, and soon enough he managed to finish the test in just one day, Scout decided to go to sleep, he gathered a bunch of leaves and started piling them up underneath a tree. He slept on the leaves and awoke the next morning. As he opened his eyes, he was surprised to see Sterling beside him roasting a rabbit in an open fire. "Morning" Sterling said as he roasted a rabbit "Morning" Scout replied while rubbing his eyes. "How was the training?" Sterling asked "Finished" Scout replied as he was standing up "Oho? Really?" Sterling asked with disbelief "Yeah" "Alright then, ill check to see if this is true, but first, breakfast." Sterling said as he gave Scout a part of the roasted rabbit "Thanks" Scout said as he started eating. A few minutes had passed and they finished eating breakfast, Sterling stood up and said. "Alright, time to show me the fruits of your labor." Scout stood up and grabbed a dagger, he then threw the dagger at the 5 yard target. "Good, now the next target." Sterling said Scout threw the dagger at the 10 yard target, then the 15 yard target. "Oho, you don''t wait do you?" Sterling said with a smile Scout then threw daggers at the 20 and 25 range targets. "Whew! You did finish it in one day, good job, lets move on to the next phase of the practice shall we?" ". . ." Scout stayed silent and just nodded. "This time you will be hitting moving targets, our practice dummies are imbued with magic, which allows them to move, they will be running around with no pattern, of course they will be only staying in this area, you won''t be given a goal, there won''t be a way to pass the test, but the only way to end the test if you think that you are confident enough to move on to the next test." Sterling said "I see, well then, let the targets move so I can start practicing." Scout said Scout fully understood what Sterling meant, the only way to truly learn the new skill is if he masters hitting moving targets, that way, he can fully utilize it. "Okay then" Sterling said. Sterling then pointed his hand towards the field where the practice dummies were and started a chant, after the chant had ended, the dummies came to life and started running around the open field. "I will be going now, I will come back to bring you lunch, good luck" Sterling said as he left the area. Scout started to practice, at first he had troubles because he did not throw his daggers in advance. But after a few tries he finally realized that he needed to throw the daggers earlier to compensate on where the dummy would move too. It took Scout a whole day to perfectly hit a moving target while he was just stationary. Scout went to sleep once more and woke up the next day practicing with the moving dummies, this time, he himself started moving too. It was more practical in game like that, throwing daggers at moving targets while he was moving about too. It took him another day to completely master it. The next day, Sterling had come and woke Scout up and to check up on the fruits of Scouts labor. "How is the training going?" Sterling asked "I think I''m ready to move on." "Looks like your pretty confident, The final phase of the training isn''t all that hard actually, its pretty simple. All you have to do is that while your dagger is out of your hands, you imagine yourself shadow stepping while grabbing the dagger." "Alright, let me try it." Scout then threw a dagger and imagined himself grabbing the dagger while shadow stepping, since Scout was already very proficient with shadow step, he easily managed to do it, but it did not create a new skill right away. "WOW! Good job! That was perfect! Now keep repeating the process until you finally master it. You should be able to acquire the skill by the end of the day. Good luck, by tomorrow I will come back for you to let you out of this place. Sterling left, and Scout continued to practice and practice, numerous hours had passed and night had fallen. Throw after throw and shadow step after shadow step, Scout finally acquired his new skill.

"Yeah, had to take a little break, but I''m all rested up and ready to go now." "Good, then shall we get going so that you can finally leave this place?" "Yeah,lets go, I need to go back to the mercenary guild." Scout and Sterling took their walk, it turned out that they were outside the city, inside a dense forest, and the area that they had come from was very hard to come by. Sterling and Scout had arrived at the city after half hour walk. "This is where I will drop you off. Any more questions before I go?" Sterling asked "When will I know that I have work of an Eliminator?" Scout asked "You will know, we have people that we dispatch to inform you. Before I forget, this is for you, all Eliminators have it, you will recognize another Eliminator if the person has this ring. Do you remember when I mentioned there was a power structure within the Eliminators?" Sterling handed over Scout a ring. "Yeah, what about it?" Scout said as he took the ring. "Well once you wear this ring, a mark should appear symbolizing how strong you are. once you wear this ring it will never come off, it will be bound to you, but worry not, the ring has different stages off evolution, its like a leveling item, but instead of it growing stronger every time you level up, it only grows at certain levels.. Well I''m headed off, I have to open up my shop once more. Good luck on your journey." Sterling said as he started running off towards inside the city. Scout inspected the ring that he received, at first it just looked like a regular black leather ring, but upon lacing it on his finger, Scout felt it, the power that had surged through his body. Suddenly a red mark that closely resembles an eye came out, Scout immediately inspected the item, it stated that it was a blue tiered item, and it gave +1 to all basic stats. Suddenly another red mark popped out, this time it became a green tiered item, with +5 to all stats. Once more another mark showed up, the same as the other 2 and this time the ring had become a yellow tiered item giving +10 to all basic stats. Scout hoped it to change once more, but it didnt happen, Scout inspected the final product of the ring.

At first he thought that being an Eliminator was already an enough gift for him, but he never expected to receive a new skill and a new semi leveling equipment. Scout took a look at his armor and saw that it wasn''t up to his level. He decided that he needed a new set of armors, he decided to go the Black Dragon Market. The Black Dragon Market is like the Adventurers Guild, but instead of handing out missions, the Black Dragon Market oversees trade. The Black Dragon Market works like this: A person can register any item with the Black Dragon Market, the person will then set a price for the item, of course there are items that are the same, and people will try to beat the other persons price. The job of the Black Dragon Market is to oversee that all transactions are legitimate. By using the Black Dragon Market, the seller of an item pays a fee towards the Black Dragon Market to register an item, the fee they have to pay depends on how much they are willing to price their items. Black Dragon Market''s are located all over the Square One world, items are stored in a database which can then be easily accessible by buyers. Buyers buy an item, and that item would be instantly pulled out from the database storage and be handed out to the buyer. Scout went over to one of the Black Dragon Market stalls and browsed at the items, there were many items there, from low level herbs to the highest damaging weapon. Scout browsed the armors section that matches his level. He found it, Scout bought a new set of armor for 115g for the whole set, but he sold of his old armor for 30g for the whole set.

The armors weren''t the best, they pretty standard and generic, almost all of the people within the level range had them. It did not bother Scout though, he was satisfied with just having an armor set matching his level. Besides, Scout still had a few extra stuff that placed him above the rest. His skills, and his miscellaneous items, and also his weapon place makes him stronger and better than most of the people within his level range. Now that Scout had gotten his new armor, since the armor was brown, his first order of operations was to go to a local armorer and dye it black. He got to the armor shop and paid a sum of just 10 gold to dye the whole set black. Scout felt more comfortable having his armor dyed black, it made him harder for people to detect. Scout decided to go back to the guild, he did not have anything to do, he could go on an adventure, but he decided to go on an adventure while getting paid. It took Scout 2 days to get back to the guild HQ. As he got there, something strange was there which wasn''t there before, there was a line of people from the gate. At least 50 people and at the most 75 people. Scout slowly approached the line, he was at the very back and asked a person there. "Hey, what is going on here?" Scout asked "HA!, you came here and did not even know?!" The person said laughing "Can you please tell me?" Scout asked once more, showing a slight hint of anger "Calm down boy, its the line to take the test for the Free Wing Mercenary." "I see, thank you very much." Scout asked and started to walk towards the gate cutting everyone off in line. "Hey where are you going?! The line is back here!" The person shouted, but Scout just ignored him. Scout got to the very front and approached the gate, as he was about to enter the area, 2 C Class Free Wing Mercenaries stopped him. "HEY! STOP! No cutting in line go back to the back" One of the guard said. *LAUGH* People at the back laughed Scout then lifted up his sleeve to show his three white wings. It was clear Scout was their superior. "Ah were sorry sir, its because this gate here is used mostly for examinees." the other guard said while taking a slight bow "Ah, I apologize for using this gate then" Scout said calmly Scout then went inside the area, and it was still busy and crowded. He decided to look for some answers. As he asked around, he got his answers, apparently the guild gained a good amount of reputation from the war and managed to level up the guild''s level to 2, increasing the number of maximum members from 300 to 500. Ever since their name had spread out, more jobs came their way and since the Free Wing Mercenary already made a name for themselves, people wanted to join them. As he looked for a mission to take, a familiar voice came to him. "Hey Scout!" It was Baron "Hey Baron, do you need anything from me?" Scout asked while looking at the job board "Yeah, ever since the war, I got promoted to A class" Baron said as he showed his 5 wings. "Congratulations, so what do you need me for?" Scout asked once more "Me and a bunch of B class are taking some new C Class for a mission" "I see, what kind of mission is it?" "It pretty simple, a lord has hired us to protect his manor, it seems that every night some kind humanoid monsters attack them." "I see, I guess I can join you, when do we leave?" Scout asked "Later in the afternoon, about 5 hours from now." "I see, yeah ill be there, Ill just take a little nap before we leave." "Alright cool man, see you later." Baron said as he left. Since Scout found a job, he decided to leave and look for an Alchemist so that he can make his level 2 potions. He had gotten 1000 level 2 hers from the cave in which him and the other Shadow Wings explored and trained. Scout looked and looked, even though the area was small, he still could not even find one NPC Alchemist, now he wasn''t even too sure if there was a NPC alchemist. He looked and looked until finally someone stopped him in his tracks. "Can I help you with something? You seem to be prowling around for quite some time now." "Ah, Sir Guild Leader Evan" Scout said as he saluted. "No need to be so formal we are all family here, and don''t salute me, we aren''t in the military." Evan said while letting out a small laugh. "Ah sorry sir." Scout replied "Again with the sir, now what can I help you with?" Evan asked once more "Im trying to look for an Alchemist shop, I have these herbs, but I need the vial containing potion water in order to create them. I might just have to go to the next town over." "Oh so you''re an alchemist?" Evan asked "Yes sir." "You''re our first one I''m afraid so we really don''t have an Alchemist shop at the moment." "No worries, ill just go over to the next town, it isn''t too far." "Tell you what, once you get those potions made, why don''t you sell them to us? We will buy any potions you make." "Sure, ill be back in a few, ill go over to the next town over and make them there, ill come back with the potions finished." Scout left and went over tot he beginner village and bought 1000 of the potion vials. He created the 1000 potions that he had. His alchemist profession went up by a decent amount, but not enough to level up the profession. He went back to HQ and looked for Evan. After a few minutes of looking, he found Evan in the same spot where they were talking. "You''re back, did you make the potions?" Evan asked "Yeah" "Good, how many do you have there? 100? 200?" "1000" "WOAH! 1000?! Thats a lot of potions!" Evan said with a confused and amazed face at the same time. "Yeah, I have 1000 level 2 potions." "Heh, how much are you selling them for?" "I can sell them to the guild for 80 copper each, and you guys can sell it at 90 coppers to other members each since they cost 1 silver at the store." "Heh, not a bad deal, all right, heres 8g for all the potion." "Thank you" Scout said as he left Scout had a couple of hours before their mission started. He decided to go to his room, which wasn''t technically his, but it was the room that he would always use. When he got there he was greeted by an unknown face which he does not recognize. "Hey, you just passed the test too?" The unknown person asked. "Huh? oh yeah, sure, mind if I take this bed?" Scout wasn''t paying too much attention since he was tired. "Yeah, go ahead, my name is Ignite by the way, I''m a mage specializing in fire." "I see, my name is Scout, I''m a bit tired, I''m gonna rest before a mission." "Ah I see, I have a mission too later, my first actually." Ignite said "You better rest up too then. Im going first" Scout took a little nap and woke up just before the mission, when he woke up, his new roommate was gone already. He got up and started walking towards the gate. As he got there a decent amount of people were already gathered, more than he thought. As he got closer, a figure was slowly approaching him. The figure was male, red hair, and young looking face. "Hey Scout, I guess were on the same mission today!" "Huh? Who are you again?" Scout asked confused "Hahaha stop joking around, its me Ignite, your roommate." Ignite said while laughing "Ah, I see" Scout said while letting out a fake laugh. He just genuinely didn''t recognize Ignite cause Scout didn''t pay too much attention. "Lets go I heard we were about to leave." Ignite said as he started walking towards where the rest were being gathered. Scout slowly walked towards the crowd, after a few minutes, Baron finally appeared. "Alright guys! Mission is pretty simple, but don''t let your guard down, especially you C class, since you will be doing most of the work, our scouts told us that the enemy are grawls, they''re humanoid creatures with ape like features. Me and the rest of the B class will only ensure that the mission will not fail. So good luck to us all, we are moving out, we will arrive roughly around sundown. Lets move out." They marched for a few hours, there was 75 of them, 1 A class, 14 B class, 40 new C class and 29 old C class. More than half of them were made out of new and inexperienced mercenaries. It was just about sundown when they were in sights of the manor, but something was not right, there was a fire coming from the direction of the manor. Baron felt something was not right. "B Class! Move! Hurry towards the manor! C Class! find a partner and stick together with him or her and start going towards the manor too! Go! The grawls are already attacking!" Baron shouted Scout was given a direct order, just as he was about to run, Ignite came up to him and said. "Hey Scout wanna pair up?" "I can''t, got a mission to do, go pair with with a different C class." Scout said as he started running towards the manor. "What are you talking about?!" Ignite shouted because scout was already at a considerable distance. "What do you think?!" Scout shouted as he continued running. Scout was the fastest among the mercenaries present, and he arrived first. As he got there, he was greeted by a grawl carrying a sword, coming at him. The grawl swung his sword, but Scout dodged to the left and a quick stab towards the heart instantly killed the grawl. The grawl let out a nasty scream, alerting its members that it had died. A few grawls had gathered towards their dead comrade, surrounding Scout. Scout decided to utilize his new skills, He firs summoned a clone of himself, taking a decent amount of his mana, both him and the clone then instantly threw their daggers at separate opponents, and both used the skill Shadow Throw. The dagger damage wasn''t enough, but them teleporting right in front of the enemies surprised them, a few more quick stabs and they died. 2 grawls instantly died in a matter of 3 seconds. Scout and his clone immediately Shadow stepped behind a few more grawls easily taking them down. In 10 seconds, Scout easily dominated 10 grawls by himself. Scout decided to move on, since the other B class had arrived and started engaging the other grawls. Slowly by slowly the C class had arrived. One by one the grawls started to die. Until finally the last grawl died. The lord of the manor stepped out of his house and approached Baron. "Oh thank god you guys got here just in time" "This happen every night?" Baron asked "Just a few nights a week, we tried asking help from the capital, but they couldn''t help cause they were still dealing with cleaning up the war damages." "Alright, Set up your guards around the civilians, I will set up my men in various locations around the manor, we will be staying here protecting the manor. Until we find the source of the attacks, we will be staying here." "Thank you very much" The lord said and went back to his house "Alright guys, take camp for tonight, only 4 tents in one location, spread out! B class, make sure you clear out any remaining grawls hiding, we don''t want any more casualties." "Yes sir!" Scout and the rest of the B class, patrolled every inch of the manor, there were no grawls present. They then decided to make their own tents. The night passed without any more disturbance. Also about the ring, It was originally something like Scout comes back for a new one every now and then, but its a pain to do it, so I decided that it changes when it changes tier, which won''t be for at least level 150+ or something.
